Video Analysis On Run
The third video, Run, includes more symbolism. However, it is mostly focused on the relationships
that the characters had with each other and their interactions together. Basically, the group can be
paired off into Rap Monster and V, Suga and Jungkook, and J Hope and Jimin. Jin does not have a
partner in this. He is further differentiated from the group in this way, and in the video he still has his
recording motif, as well as looking into the camera. The video starts with V falling backwards into
dark water. The water acts as a mirror in this case, showing him fall from one side of the mirror into
the other. There are shots of him struggling underwater throughout the video as well. After that, Rap
Monster is featured visiting the train tracks where the group was seen together. In this video, his
would be considered the present time. When he opens the door to one of the train cars, he starts a
flashback to times when the group was having fun. While the entire video is meant to be before the
members die, these are further flashbacks to when even V has not died, and they are all having fun
together. Some of these moments of fun directly mirror the activities that the ... Show more content on

One explanation of the basic plotline is that first, V kills a man. He is at a loss as to how to handle this,
and ends up killing himself. After that, unable to cope with his not being there, the rest of the members
also commit suicide in various ways, except for Jin. Although the specific order is not abundantly
clear, one can infer that at least Suga dies before Jungkook. Jin, however, is the only one left alive by
the end of this, forced to watch each of his friends disappear without being able to do anything about
it. These hypotheses can be deduced from the symbolism present in the form of cameras of recordings,
butterflies, and mirrors, among

Realism In The Invisible Man

It is a science fiction novel by H.G. Wells in which he creates the moment of superpower and the
incidents which surprised the readers. The invisible Man s mind as logical point of view because of
his habit of thinking new ideas and collect details which makes a character of realistic reactions

this novel he made a character of a mad scientist which invents new ideas. the invisible man is a

Corruption is an improbity or decay in the decision making process in which a decision maker
consents to deviate or demands deviation from the criterion which should rule his or her decision

Symbolism In Pat Conroy s The Water Is Wide
Pat Conroy s memoir, The Water is Wide, is about his life on Daufuskie Island, also known as
Yamacraw Island in the book. Conroy spent a year teaching on the island in a little two room
schoolhouse. The Yamacrawans were rural African American people that by leaving on the island had
basically no knowledge of anything beyond the island. Conroy tells of all the troubles he faced while
teaching on the island and all the struggles he faced with outside forces. Conroy uses the setting, the
title of his book, symbolism, and different themes to express what the year he spent teaching there was
like. The setting of the novel is the south, on an island just off the coast of South Carolina. The island
is connected to the mainland of South Carolina by a river, and the only way to get on or off the island
is by boat. Conroy uses the setting of this book to reveal just how cut off the Yamacrawans are from
the real world , and how much this has affected the students he is working with. Conroy states that
The twentieth century has basically ignored the presence of Yamacraw (Conroy 3), . The students have
no idea what kind of world they are living in, All around the room sat human beings of various sizes
and hues who were not aware that a world surrounded them, a world they would be forced to enter,
and enter soon (Conroy 37) , and this worries Conroy. The title of the book is also an important part of
the story. Pat Conroy chose this title in reflection of the river between the

The Main Difficulties With Multi Agency Partnerships
What are the main difficulties with multi agency partnerships in safeguarding children? Discuss with
reference to social science literature and official reports.
Safeguarding children can best be described as an action taken to promote the welfare of children and
protect them from harm, this involves protecting children from abuse and maltreatment and preventing
harm to children s health or development. (NSPCC, 2016).
Multi agency partnerships in safeguarding children look to identify the goals, circumstances and needs
of children, agencies must agree with both the contribution each agency will have Ensuring it meets
the every child matters guidelines, the main aims are to improve the sharing of information between
the agencies and Oversee arrangements for agencies to work collaboratively in the commissioning,
delivery and integration of services. (Cheminais R, 2009:2).
There are many benefits to working within a multi agency partnership, it not only allows for
professional views from different professionals from a variety of different professions but it also
allows for an individual to receive specifically tailored help top overcome their own situations in
regards to health and welfare, However despite the benefits to multi agency partnerships in
safeguarding children there are many difficulties that need to be acknowledged.
This essay will use case studies with reference to social science literature and official reports to further
explain and discuss the difficulties

Karl Marx And The Great Philosopher Essay
Karl Marx was born in Trier, Prussia in 1818 to a Jewish family, but despite his baptism at age 6, he
later became an atheist. Marx attended University of Bonn, but due to his imprisonment for
drunkenness and variances with another student, he was enrolled in the University of Berlin by his
parents. Marx earned his degree in philosophy and began writing for Rheinische Zeitung, a liberal
democratic newspaper. He later became their editor. Marx was a member of Young Hegelian
movement which was group that criticized Christianity and the liberal resistance of the Prussian
autocracy. Marx engaged in numerous revolutionary movements; However, after the failures he was
driven to London in 1849. For most of his life, Marx was not working alone. Marx worked with
Friedrich Engels, who had created a similar theory to that of Marx. Engel was a great communicator
while Marx was the great philosopher. The two worked well together to formulate the term, Marxism .
Engel contributed much to Marxism and Karl Marx s other successes. Marx continuously studied and
wrote, but he was unable to finish the last two volumes of his work. Therefore, Engel put together
Marx s notes to finish the volumes after Marx passed on March 14, 1883.

Netflix Movie And Book Comparison Paper
Many authors have a specific audience in mind when they begin to create their work. This can be seen
in many different websites on the same type of information. I chose to compare the websites
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt4834206/ and http://www.lemonysnicket.com/. The first website is the
IMDB information page for the new Netflix series A Series of Unfortunate Events and the second
website is the official website of the book series of the same title. Both websites provide information
on this book series.
The primary audience of the IMDB website is professional critics. These critics have professional
insight and review books, TV shows, and movies for a living. They are adults that have been hired to
critique the new series. On the IMDB website, these critics can post their reviews of the new Netflix
series and they can also rate the series. Their comments on the series will be reviewed by other people
interested in watching the series. In contrast, the primary audience of www.lemonysnicket.com is the
readers of the book. Due to the fact that this is the official website for the books, the readers and fans
of the book series trust this website and would visit it. The fans are mostly in their teenage years or
early twenties and they know the series by heart. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Accessibility and-or Usability in the Context of Web...
According to Pratt Nunes (2012), accessibility and/or usability in the context of web design and
computing are two closely related features. Their approaches, goals and guidelines closely overlap
each other, hence it is convenient to collectively consider them in web designing and content
development. However, it may be necessary to be specific sometimes especially when addressing the
issue of discrimination against those with disabilities or in defining the specific accessibility and
usability standards.
This paper addresses the synchronization of accessibility and usability particularly in the development
of accessible computer systems, which promotes usability of appropriate web content. Accessibility in
this case is concerned with ensuring a comparable user experience for all user regardless of their
ability and /or disability including age related impairments. This implies that an accessible system
should be easily understood, perceived, navigated and should interact with the user without barriers.
The access to information as well as access to efficient technology is a fundamental human right as
stipulated in the UN convention on the rights of people with disabilities.
On the other hand, Seffah, Gulliksen Desmarais (2005) argue that usability revolves around the design
of products which are effective, efficient and user satisfying. This is an integral part of the process of
human computer interaction that is primarily user centered so as to yield positive user

There are many forms of communication which can be used to meet the different needs of individual s
and these may include one or more of the following:
Verbal communication is a two way process and should involve active listening. I will need to adapt
my style and method of communication based on whom I am communicating with. For example, if I
am communicating with a professional such as a GP the communication will be formal as opposed to
how I would communicate with a service user where communication is more informal. There are some
basic do s and don ts which can aid verbal communication. These are:
DON T cover your mouth when speaking but DO speak clearly and slowly
DON T use inappropriate language but DO be sensitive to a person s culture

What Does It Mean To Say That God Is All Evil
I strongly believe that these three statements are true. God is all powerful. God is all good. Evil exists
in the world. To many these three statements appear contradictory. How can God be all powerful, all
good, and still allow evil to be present in the lives of people?
Many would argue that God can be all powerful and allow evil to occur because he is not entirely
good. Others would say God is all good, but he is not powerful or involved enough to stop all evil
from happening. It almost seems as if logically God cannot be all powerful and all good and allow the
existence of evil.
Revelation 4:10 discusses people sitting before the throne of God worshipping God and laying their
crowns and treasures at his feet. In verse eleven they say for you created all things, and by your will
they were created and have their being. I draw my beliefs on the presence of evil from this passage. ...

Many would read that statement and cry heresy, and maybe it is. I believe in a God that created
everything. As the creator of all God is not bound by the same concepts and laws that people are. He
exists outside of time and possesses omniscience to know everything that has or will happen.
God is completely good. For a multitude of people, this idea is a major hang up. Why would a God
that is completely good command one of his followers to sacrifice his only son? That sounds like a
really bad God who doesn t love people. Why would a God that is supposedly all good command his
people to wipe out men, women, and children of other nations and then punish them for showing
mercy? Again, this is a lousy God. There are several biblical examples of God that don t fit into our
nice little box of what we want him to be. Yet, I still firmly believe that he is entirely

Examples Of Personal Narrative
Personal Narrative It was the year of 2013, I was going into 4th grade and school was just a month
away. But it wasn t the 4th grade that I was looking forward to, because my family was moving to a
small town in Wisconsin named Mosinee. I grew up in a suburb just on the outskirts of the great city
known as Chicago. I loved it there, and wanted to live there for the rest of my life; I guess my parents
didn t exactly feel the same way. Little did I know that this move would shape my personality and
change me in many different ways. And ultimately, to make me a better person as a whole. When I
told my very few friends that I was moving, they always asked why. I really didn t have an answer and
didn t think about it that much. The day eventually came, and we had all of our stuff was ready, my
family was ready, but I wasn t. I couldn t imagine a life without my normal friends and my normal
school, and didn t realize that this move would be one of the best things that has ever happened to me.

Pros And Cons Of Case Studies
1. Study Background a. Pros and Cons of Case Studies Case studies, whilst a very simple way of
performing studies, have multiple pros alongside the cons. Firstly, due to the simplicity of the study
design (i.e. simple picking apart one case study rather than needing to collect data from multiple
sources about multiple patients), complex concepts are usually simplified greatly.1 It erases the need
to collect data that would be needed for other study designs for more complex patients and situations.
In more complex or rarer cases, it may take a long time to collect this data. This means that case
studies ensure documentation and discussion surrounding rare conditions and cases. They also mean
that the teaching or study is based around real life situations as opposed to learning from how patients
are supposed to present. It is a good way to show that not everybody follows the textbook norm of
disease presentation and progression.2 Case presentations can also act as a good reference point for if
you come across a patient in a similar situation. They provide experimental learning and also help to
stimulate learning by reading the case study and evaluating the outcome. It helps to dissect whether, if
the situation would repeat itself in the same way, the same or similar outcome would occur in a
different patient. They can help to ensure continued development of new ideas of treatment and
management protocols. Data collected from case studies is normally much more in depth that

Research paper on the beatles
The Story of My Search
Everyone, Americans and Europeans alike, have heard of, if not grown off of, a generation and culture
started by an ensemble of four shaggy haired Liverpool musicians that the world went mad over; no
one can deny that no greater event impacted today s pop culture than Beatlemania . But not everyone
has heard the story behind the Beatles, who were they? How did they become the band and how did
they make it big? What s the story of their struggle?
Before researching, I already knew a lot about the Beatles. I knew that the band was made up of John
Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison, and Ringo Starr. They started the famous British Invasion

Family Relationships In The Odyssey And The Coen Brothers
Homer and the Coen brothers were trying to communicate many messages to the audience in their
respective pieces, Homer, with a popular book called The Odyssey and the Coen brothers with the
film adaptation, O Brother, Where Art Thou? Although the movie and book have their differences, one
thing in common is their take on family relationships. In both works, the main characters realized they
were missing their families, and made it their first priority to return home to mend unresolved issues.
Homer and the Coen brothers were trying to say that in order to have a healthy relationship with your
family, it s necessary to be present and focused without distractions. In order to have a relationship
with the people you love, you need to be there for them. If you can t commit to your family, then
problems are inevitable. Relationships take work and time and attention, which is exactly what
Odysseus failed to provide his family with. In the beginning of The Odyssey, we find that Odysseus

Her definition for internet addiction is excessive internet over use which disrupts a person s sleep
patterns, work productivity, daily routines, and social life (Hardie Ming Yi., 2007).
Others have defined internet addiction in other words. Oktan (2011) has used certain criteria to
describe internet addiction. He says that it is failure to control, decrease or stop internet use, and
staying logged on longer than expected (Oktan, 2011). Both Yen, Yen, Wu, Huang Ko (2011) and
Chak Leung (2004) give characteristics for internet addiction. Yen, et al, (2011) list the characteristics
as: impaired decision making, impairment of control, tolerance, preoccupation, withdrawal, uses more
than one intends, excessive time and effort devoted to the internet. Chak Leung (2004) list their
characteristics of internet addiction as the following: concealment, risk to education, risk of loss of
job, risk of loss of relationship, and lying to friends, family, the therapist, and others. Weinstein
Lejoyeux (2010) believes there are 4 components to internet addiction and in each component there
are different parts to the component. The four components are excessive use, tolerance, adverse
consequences, and withdrawal. The parts to excessive use entail loss of time and neglect of duties.
Tolerance is when more and more of time and effort are needed for satisfaction and the need for better

Description Of The Hpge Gamma Ray Spectrometer
) Description of the HPGe gamma ray spectrometer
A high resolution gamma detection system was used for gamma analysis. This system consist of an
ORTEC hyper pure germanium detector (HPGe), model number GEM 15190, coaxial type detector
with a serial number 27 P 1876A recommended operating bias, negative 3 Kv. The detector used has
crystal diameter 49.3 mm, and crystal length 47.1 mm. The HPGe detector has a full width at half
maximum (FWHM) 0.9 keV at the 122 keV gamma transition of Co 57 and 1.9 keV at the 1332.5 keV
of Co 60 gamma transition (Knoll, 2000). The detector has peak to Compton ratio about 44 keV.
Compton ratio is the number of net counts in the 1.33 MeV peak channels divided by the average
number of net counts in the channels representing the range from l.040 through 1.096 MeV which is
part of the Compton region associated with the 1.33 MeV peak. Figure (2.5) show the block diagram
of gamma ray spectrometer.
The range of the multi channels analyzer (MCA) was adjusted to include the peak channel and the
range of interest in the Compton plateau (Madelung, 1991), (EML, 1990). High purity germanium

1. Introduction: Autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) are used for long term, large scale
oceanographic monitoring. They are classified into different types battery powered AUVs, propeller
driven AUVs and buoyancy driven under water gliders. Among these, underwater gliders are highly
efficient compared to the other types of gliders, because they spend most of their time in stable, steady
motion and they spend their energy only when they are changing their equilibrium state. There are
various ways in which these gliders can use buoyancy for maneuvering. For this model the movement
of these gliders is controlled by the servo actuators which move the mass relative to the vehicle s
frame and their motion control is affected by varying the parameters which affect the steady motion,
such as the center of mass and buoyancy. These parameters are to be controlled for attaining a steady
state motion. For this a control system needs to be designed which provides feedback in response to
the errors which are present in the state of motion. [1][3] The main important area of concern for the
underwater gliders has been their efficiency, then motion control is the secondary concern.

New Ideas And Innovation Within The Company
Discover card is always about promoting new ideas and innovation within the company that like to
hear feedback from employees on suggestion and tips to how to make daily work life easier. Every
year each employees must submit an intrapreneurship which is the process of promoting innovation
within the structure of an existing organization. Discover makes is easy they set up internal website
that employees go to submit their idea. Discover then follow up with the process if proceed to go
father with the idea or need so clarify information on the innovative idea. On the website also displays
the progress on the Intrapreneurship and whether or not the idea was already submitted. If a person
already submitted the same idea to the company it would have a red check next to the idea, but if it
has a green check next the idea it was the first time that idea was submitted to the company. The
average time the idea to be processed for an approval can take up 6 months depending on the
necessary step to making sure that the idea benefit all employees that will be use it. According to
Successful innovation depends upon effective communication of the business value of innovation. Yet
different stages of the innovation process require different communication strategies. Companies who
have recognized the different elements of the innovation process are able to target their
communication mechanisms to achieve the best results from organizational innovation. When our card

Hedge Fund Vs Mutual Fund Essay
Hedge Fund vs Mutual Fund, Understanding The Differences
Dwayne Strocen
By Dwayne Strocen
Apr 30, 2010
In 1949 Australian Alfred Jones was credited with the term hedge fund . Historically it derives its
name from the use of hedging to manage risk while achieving superior returns. Today, a hedge fund is
an un regulated investment vehicle designated for sophisticated, also known as the Accredited Investor
.
Mutual funds gained popularity in the 1980 s. Prior to this time, the problem of the small investor was
in obtaining sufficient knowledge to make informed investment decisions, and so the average person
avoided stock market investing. Instead money was held in traditional savings accounts or placed with
a bank in a Guaranteed Investment Certificate ( GIC ) or Certificate of Deposit ( CD ).
What to do. The small investor was not able to obtain a professional money manager without $10
million or more to start. But what if he could pool his money with other small investors to reach this
minimum threshold. And so the mutual fund was created to address these exact concerns.
The mutual fund concept was simple, allow the un sophisticated investor access to the strategies of the
professional money manager. This was done by pooling small sums of money, as little as $20.00
deposited monthly. In return, the fund company would use professional money managers using
professional investment strategies to easily out perform traditional bank savings products.
The mutual fund investor

Chesapeake Bay Sediments
Our watershed, the chesapeake bay stretches more than 64,000 square miles and is home to about 18
million people. The bay provides us with a lot of things like fishes, salt and water for farming etc. But,
the bay is starting to get polluted and many organisms in the bay are dying because of sediments,
algae blooms etc. One of the major problems and also a problem in my neighborhood is sediments.
Sediments forms when rocks and soil erode or weather. About 5.2 million tons of sediment enter the
bay every year. When it rains, those sediments are carried to the bay by runoff. Because of the small
size, the particles float on the surface of water and often travel long distances during rainstorms. When
there are too many of these sediments, the water

Deere quarterly sales analysis Essay
TO: JB Penn, Chief Economist, Deere Co.
FROM:
DATE: 29 October 2014
SUBJECT: Quarterly sales analysis
Following an analysis of sales data between 1995 and 2012, it is recommended that that Deere and Co.
incorporate the seasonal indicator variables model to forecast future sales. In the regression analysis
for this model it was determined that it was able to explain approximately
90% of the variability in past sales. Adjustments to this forecasting model can be made by
incorporating overall economic climate projections, long term weather forecasts, and commodity
market futures.
As evidenced in the sales plot, from January 31, 1995 through July 31, 2014 John Deere has enjoyed
steady sales growth with seasonal peaks recorded at end of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Trainspotting Theme
Trainspotting is the title on a fantastically well made movie that s mainly about choosing a life other
than the one we are accustomed to in our daily lives. There are many reasons on how it is similar to
today s society. For example, Trainspotting deals with being stuck between different choices. The
movie shows the importance of having right friends. Lastly, I liked the way mental illnesses are
presented in Trainspotting. .
One of the main themes of Trainspotting is making decisions. In teen and pre adult lives, there are a
lot of choices one needs to make. There could be anything from education to relationships: in which
some people have a hard time dealing with the difficulties those choses pose. Renton, the protagonist,
rants about choose life , and he chooses heroin as a way to escape the different choices. The times he
does choose to lay off the drugs, he experiences withdrawal symptoms, like anybody else would after
quitting drugs. That s why many addict like him, try to find a way to cope with the different choices in
life, and many turn to alcohol and/or drugs for comfort. The main factor is choice, because in the end
it is you who make a choice on your life should be. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Trainspotting one gets to follow the journey of friends who found their comfort in drugs, alcohol or
violence. As a young adult myself, I believe that many times we tend to seek comfort in other people,
and therefore many of us usually end up choosing the same path our friends encourage us to. This
could be applied to Trainspotting. Tommy, against drugs and lies, suddenly collapses when his
girlfriend leaves and he tries to find comfort in heroin just like his friends supposedly do. Since
Tommy was already surrounded by addicts, it was easier for him to feel pressured into doing the same

The Principles Of Radio Dequency Identification
The acronym RFID stands for Radio frequency Identification, which is one of the most prominent
technologies being used in the modern lifestyle, which has wide range of applications like enabling
physical security in an enterprise, tracking objects/merchandise on a shop floor etc. A general RFID
System has a Reader and Tags. The RFID tags are nothing but small sized transponders, which store
small amount of data which can be either information about the product that is being tracked or any
unique serial number directly fed into it and the information can be read multiple times by the reader .
The RFID reader which is a two way trans reciever uses the radio waves which enabling wireless
transfer of data between tags and the reader.

Because of the on board power supply the cost of the active RFID tags is higher.
Fig 18: RFID active tag
b).passive tags:
A passive RFID tag has no on board power source. But they are passively powered by the energy from
the electromagnetic field of the RFID reader. The antenna present in the passive tag converts the
energy from electromagnetic field of the reader into an RF wave that is transmitted into the coverage
zone of the reader.
33
Passive RFID tags find eligibility in applications which require low range of detection like access
control, supply chain management etc. Apart from active and passive tags there is a new classification
called Battery assisted passive tags . These tags have a small on board batteries which get activated in
the presence of an RFID reader.
It is clear that the above classification is based on the availability of power source in the RFID tag.
Also it is known that the tags contain vital data regarding the object that is being tracked. The memory
in the tags can be either a read only type of memory (a unique serial code embedded into the chip) or a
read write/ programmable memory type in which the data in the tag can be written by the end user.

An RFID reader is a two way Transceiver which operates on a fixed frequency (generally 125 KHz).

Looking at Skyy s Vodka Advetisement
When looking at Skyy s vodka advertisement, they had encoded many types of meanings in their
advertisement to appeal customers into buying their products. You first see a woman dressed up all in
black holding a martini shaker while a man is sitting in a round chair holding a martini glass. You can
only see the man s hand and legs which creates a mysterious look with the combination of the setting
being night time. The second thing you would see is the actual product in the corner of the ad because
of the contrast of the dark bottle and the white table and chair. The white man sitting in the big round
chair without his face reduces the attention of him which brings more attention towards the woman.
The man without the face could represent that you could be the person who is sitting there and be
treated like a king by the women serving you vodka in a seductive way. This would bring attention to
male customers who are looking at the ad and they can decode the message of buying this vodka
would get you a sexy woman serving you in a luxurious suite alone. The attractive woman is the core
concept to appeal to customers by the placement and size being almost the whole print ad. The
lighting towards the women enhances the woman s curves, breasts and a smooth silky skin. The
position of the woman shows a seductive approach to the man by how she is very close holding a
margarita shaker even though his martini glass is full. The position of the woman with the woman s

On Monday, we tested our car with 50g weights, but it was not energy efficient as the energy score
decreased because I put the weights in front of the car, which made the car go slower. I solved this
issue by putting the weights in the back of the car like where the motor is. Then, I tested our car with
100g weights on the track, and the energy score increased. As a group, we decided to add more
weights because as I put more weights on the car, the energy score increased.
On Tuesday, Wena and I continue to work on group oral presentation; Allysa was working on the

The second problem I faced this week was; when I put 150g weights in the back of the car, the car
only went halfway down the track and then it completely stopped. I found out; it stopped because the
weights were blocking the wheels. I solved this issue by adjusting the weights (like I put the weights
in the back of the car so that the car can pick up the speed quickly).
After solving these issues, the car never stopped again, and I realised that the car went the fastest
when the weights were put in the back of the car. The car went the slowest with the weights put in
front of the car and the car never stopped again. That is how we solved our issue.

Cultural And Historical Significance Of The Film 12 Years...
The Cultural and Historical Significance of the Film 12 Years A Slave The cultural and historical
significance of the film has changed and reshaped the views and cultures of African Americans with
the roles that they have as a race in society as a result of the racial formation and performance
portrayed in the film. The movie presents a verifiable and precise account of the collective experience
of slaves in the United States of America in the late 18th century. The basic facts of the movie from
the start to the finish concern events about the places, the time, and the practices that took place during
the slave era in detail. The movie is inspired by a book written by David Wilson about the narrative
events of Solomon Northup as a slave. Both the book and the movie share the same title. In the book,
he speaks with a lot of authority on all subjects especially enslavement of black Americans and in the
process, he names popular leaders as well as several other landmarks without fear of contradiction
because we understand that public records have enough knowledge to defend his position. In the
movie, the slave trader is accused of keeping slaves as captive in a slave pen in Washington DC. Not
only is the name of the slave and the slaver mentioned, but also their accomplices in addition to the
location where the slave pen is located, the structure of the slave pen, an all details that allow one to

The Challenger Explosion
On the cold morning of January 28, 1986, when the temperature hung ten degrees below freezing with
the excessive wind chill, The Challenger was set to launch from Cape Canaveral Florida. On board,
seven crew members, including the first civilian set to go to space, teacher Christa McAuliffe, awaited
the final order to launch. As thousands of children watched on television, the shuttle left the platform,

One way that America is ensuring a future for space exploration is the reinforcement of math and
science in schools. The Challenger gave even more students hope for a promising future by offering
scholarships in McAuliffe s and the crew s names. Even some schools are being created and named in
honor of the fallen crew, especially McAuliffe. This is because her mission was to get people to want
to learn, which she expressed as she made her journey to The Challenger. McAuliffe Regional Charter
Public Middle School in Framing, Massachusetts annually celebrates her life by having students
research the many aspects of space. Many schools around the world teach this subject. However, this
school takes a different approach. Instead of sitting through the lectures of their teachers, students
investigate the subjects with experts, work at labs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, video
chat with researchers in Japan, and interview many specialists. There is also more focus on science,
mathematics, engineering, and technologies (STEM) at elementary schools such as McAuliffe
elementary (Simpson). This reinforcement is not only important to the future of the space program,
but it also allows many girls to have the freedom to learn without prejudice. Van Roekel, a former
teacher, explains how the timing of this integration was so critical for the developing youth by stating,
When you think of the time, that s when we really started real efforts to knock down stereotypes that
math and science were for boys and not girls. (Heitin). If girls had not felt comfortable learning about
math and science then, where would America be today? So many discoveries are made every single

Characteristics Of Frederick The Great
The Enlightenment is a period of time located across the world, mainly in Europe, that directly
followed the Scientific Revolution. It has been considered an intellectual movement which has
advocated for freedom, democracy, and reason. Many have also considered this time as the organized
activity of French philosophers or also known as the philosophes, who were considered an informal
society men of letters that contributed to the Encyclopedie. The Enlightenment affected the European
population as well with more rights being given to the common people, more people becoming
literate, decline in the church, and new formations of religions. One of these philosophies is Frederick
the Great, King of Prussia. Frederick was an active follower of the Enlightenment and tried to change
Prussia into an Enlightened state through some of these characteristics.
Frederick the Great was ruler of Prussia from 1740 1786. He took over from his father, Frederick
William I, who was considered to be coward and rarely got into wars. Frederick s term was during the
Enlightenment, and like other rulers, Catherine the Great, Maria Theresa, and her son, Joseph, were all
enlightened by the age and followed it. In the case of Frederick, he turned his court into a learning of
the nobility to help out. He believed that the French learning was the only main learning that people
should know, and used French influence in his castle and gardens. He was good friends with other
philosophies such as Voltaire

NFL Leadership Case Study
The league had a culture that looked the other way when it came to players improprieties. There was
history of giving personal conduct violators a mere slap on wrist. According to the San Diego Union
Tribune, of the 32 teams that make up the NFL, 21 employed players who had domestic or sexual
violence charges last year. Since 200, more than 700 NFL players found themselves arrested. The NFL
s responses were either a brief suspension or no suspension at all. Those players who the NFL released
from contracts were benchwarmers who most likely had no impact on the team winning. The ostrich
manager syndrome was present. The league did not accept blame but rather made domestic violence a
societal issue, and therefore, not their problem. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Beau Buckley (2001) argue that when there is a lack of accountability in an organization s leadership,
there is an antecedent of unethical behavior within the organization (as cited in Hoogervorst De
Cremer, 2010). The Ivey Business Journal states Without Accountability leaders don t commit to, or
own, the decisions they make, and cannot get others to do so. They blame others for poor outcomes
and in doing so create a culture of fear and disengagement. People stop caring, with potentially
disastrous consequences (Crossan Seijts, 2012). Initially the league offered no solutions that caused a
loss of credibility. Following the arrest of Ray Rice, the Baltimore Ravens team owner stated I ve been
on record of saying my definition of character is repeating offenses. If we re all one strike and you re
out, then we re all in trouble. It s how you respond to adversity. (Mink, 2014) . It was not until a video
emerged that the NFL decided to mandate discipline, albeit weak discipline. The league suspended
Rice for two games. After public outcry, the league went in the opposite direction. This showed
inconsistency in leadership, which can cause inconsistencies in team members. If leaders are
consistent in what they pay attention to, measure, and control, employees receive clear signals about
what is important in the organization. If, however, leaders are

Price Discrimination
Pricing Discrimination by Amazon.com
The Internet allows shoppers to easily compare prices across thousands of stores. But it also enables
businesses to collect detailed information about a customer s purchasing history, preferences, and
financial resources and to set prices accordingly. So when you buy an airplane ticket or a DVD online,
you may pay a higher or lower price than another customer buying the very same item from the very
same site.
In September 2000, Amazon.com reportedly outraged some customers when its price discrimination
was revealed. When a buyer reportedly deleted the cookies on his computer that identified him as a
regular Amazon customer, watched the price of a DVD offered to him for sale drop from $26.24 to
$22.74. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Stores may also take account of which customers are demanding when it comes to customer service.
Repeat complaints or constant returns might then lead to a higher price. Or, more innocuously,
demanding customers might be offered different deals, such as longer warranties, that fit their habit of
asking for frequent service.
Also, even when there are no differences among customers, one might think that random price drops
such as those Amazon says it uses are innocuous, since in theory, every customer is equally likely to
benefit from the lower prices, though in fact, only some do. Also, the prices aren t tailored to
particular customers profiles, if they are offered truly randomly, so if it is the tailoring aspect that is
troubling, random price drops eliminate it.
Is it legal?
The practice could also be legal if it violates antitrust or price fixing laws.
The federal Robinson Patman Act requires sellers to treat all competing customers on the same basis,
unless there is some recognized legal justification for different treatment. But the act is targeting
anticompetitive effects which are unlikely to arise in the highly competitive online market.
My recommendation from business point of view (not as a Amazon.com s customer) is to ensure that
any scheme that Amazon.com may evolve as its marketing and segmenting strategy is kept secret from
customer s view. If not, the

Coast Guard Case Summary
1. Current Coast Guard policy, reference (a), relies entirely on the Decedent Affairs Officer (DAO) as
a collateral duty. This responsibility for coordinating support services related to active duty, reserve
and dependents deaths is extremely time consuming and detracts from a DAO s normal duties. The
lack of a full time DAO to provide assistance to the family or next of kin (NOK) is stressful and
emotionally draining on the individual. The Decedent Affairs Officer needs to be streamlined into a
full time position under the command of the Personnel Service Center 2. There are 23 DAO s assigned

The financial responsibility of funding a case initially falls on the DAO s unit. The average DAO case
costs $10k $13k dollars. This cost expenditure has the potential to affect unit readiness or meeting
mission requirements if funds are unavailable for other critical needs. Unit funds will not be
reimbursed from headquarters until all expenses have been expended and paid out. This can take
anywhere from 10 days to several weeks depending on the circumstances of the members death.
Requiring the unit to operate on a negative budget due to no fault of their own is unacceptable and
irresponsible. 5. Opponents will argue the Coast Guard can t afford to hire new personnel. Almost
certainly true, so use active duty personnel and make DAO a special assignment. Make it a two year
tour with a priority 3 assignment due to the sensitive nature of the position. This will provide a full
time billet as well as offer challenging opportunities and some sea going rates may see it as an
opportunity to get an ashore assignment. 6. Some may argue nothing is wrong with the current
process. Just because that is the way we have always done it, doesn t mean its right. There is always
room for improvement. Funding issues for individual units would be alleviated as all funeral costs
would be funded by PSC directly instead of having to reimburse the unit after the fact. This would
ensure unit readiness and funds availability for critical

Metal Catalyzed Carbon
Recently metal catalyzed carbon carbon and carbon heteroatom cross coupling reactions have been
developed as an important reaction class in chemical synthesis.1 Nowadays, there is a variety of
competitive methods for synthesis of aryl nucleophile bonds with various sources of C , O , N , P , and
S nucleophiles.1 5 Researchers have extensively applied palladium based catalysts in cross coupling
reactions in both academic and industrial settings,5, 6 however, our goal is the development of a range
of copper based catalysts for cross coupling reactions. Copper assisted Sonogashira type coupling
reactions are valuable transformations for organic synthesis. C C bond formation between aryl halides
and terminal aryl and alkyl alkynes affords the corresponding substituted internal alkynes. Alkynes are
the building blocks of a wide range of pharmaceuticals, natural products, biologically active
molecules, conducting polymers, nonlinear, optical and liquid crystal materials.7 12 The routine
reaction method for Sonogashira type coupling is the use of a palladium based catalyst and a copper(I)
salt as a co catalyst.13 The role of the copper co catalyst is to produce a copper acetylide intermediate
that subsequently transmetallates to the palladium center. In recent years, many different catalytic
systems including copper free palladium based catalysts have been applied for this reaction,14, 15 but
the use of effective palladium free systems would obviously be much more interesting in

himself, and the twelve years he spent in bondage. Born as a free African American in New York,
Solomon was tricked into slavery, and beaten black and blue to when he tried to regain freedom. He

  • 2. Video Analysis On Run The third video, Run, includes more symbolism. However, it is mostly focused on the relationships that the characters had with each other and their interactions together. Basically, the group can be paired off into Rap Monster and V, Suga and Jungkook, and J Hope and Jimin. Jin does not have a partner in this. He is further differentiated from the group in this way, and in the video he still has his recording motif, as well as looking into the camera. The video starts with V falling backwards into dark water. The water acts as a mirror in this case, showing him fall from one side of the mirror into the other. There are shots of him struggling underwater throughout the video as well. After that, Rap Monster is featured visiting the train tracks where the group was seen together. In this video, his would be considered the present time. When he opens the door to one of the train cars, he starts a flashback to times when the group was having fun. While the entire video is meant to be before the members die, these are further flashbacks to when even V has not died, and they are all having fun together. Some of these moments of fun directly mirror the activities that the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One explanation of the basic plotline is that first, V kills a man. He is at a loss as to how to handle this, and ends up killing himself. After that, unable to cope with his not being there, the rest of the members also commit suicide in various ways, except for Jin. Although the specific order is not abundantly clear, one can infer that at least Suga dies before Jungkook. Jin, however, is the only one left alive by the end of this, forced to watch each of his friends disappear without being able to do anything about it. These hypotheses can be deduced from the symbolism present in the form of cameras of recordings, butterflies, and mirrors, among ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Conroy spent a year teaching on the island in a little two room schoolhouse. The Yamacrawans were rural African American people that by leaving on the island had basically no knowledge of anything beyond the island. Conroy tells of all the troubles he faced while teaching on the island and all the struggles he faced with outside forces. Conroy uses the setting, the title of his book, symbolism, and different themes to express what the year he spent teaching there was like. The setting of the novel is the south, on an island just off the coast of South Carolina. The island is connected to the mainland of South Carolina by a river, and the only way to get on or off the island is by boat. Conroy uses the setting of this book to reveal just how cut off the Yamacrawans are from the real world , and how much this has affected the students he is working with. Conroy states that The twentieth century has basically ignored the presence of Yamacraw (Conroy 3), . The students have no idea what kind of world they are living in, All around the room sat human beings of various sizes and hues who were not aware that a world surrounded them, a world they would be forced to enter, and enter soon (Conroy 37) , and this worries Conroy. The title of the book is also an important part of the story. Pat Conroy chose this title in reflection of the river between the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 9. Accessibility and-or Usability in the Context of Web... According to Pratt Nunes (2012), accessibility and/or usability in the context of web design and computing are two closely related features. Their approaches, goals and guidelines closely overlap each other, hence it is convenient to collectively consider them in web designing and content development. However, it may be necessary to be specific sometimes especially when addressing the issue of discrimination against those with disabilities or in defining the specific accessibility and usability standards. This paper addresses the synchronization of accessibility and usability particularly in the development of accessible computer systems, which promotes usability of appropriate web content. Accessibility in this case is concerned with ensuring a comparable user experience for all user regardless of their ability and /or disability including age related impairments. This implies that an accessible system should be easily understood, perceived, navigated and should interact with the user without barriers. The access to information as well as access to efficient technology is a fundamental human right as stipulated in the UN convention on the rights of people with disabilities. On the other hand, Seffah, Gulliksen Desmarais (2005) argue that usability revolves around the design of products which are effective, efficient and user satisfying. This is an integral part of the process of human computer interaction that is primarily user centered so as to yield positive user ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 13. What Does It Mean To Say That God Is All Evil I strongly believe that these three statements are true. God is all powerful. God is all good. Evil exists in the world. To many these three statements appear contradictory. How can God be all powerful, all good, and still allow evil to be present in the lives of people? Many would argue that God can be all powerful and allow evil to occur because he is not entirely good. Others would say God is all good, but he is not powerful or involved enough to stop all evil from happening. It almost seems as if logically God cannot be all powerful and all good and allow the existence of evil. Revelation 4:10 discusses people sitting before the throne of God worshipping God and laying their crowns and treasures at his feet. In verse eleven they say for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. I draw my beliefs on the presence of evil from this passage. ... That sounds like a really bad God who doesn t love people. Why would a God that is supposedly all good command his people to wipe out men, women, and children of other nations and then punish them for showing mercy? Again, this is a lousy God. • 16. Pros And Cons Of Case Studies 1. Study Background a. Pros and Cons of Case Studies Case studies, whilst a very simple way of performing studies, have multiple pros alongside the cons. Firstly, due to the simplicity of the study design (i.e. simple picking apart one case study rather than needing to collect data from multiple sources about multiple patients), complex concepts are usually simplified greatly.1 It erases the need to collect data that would be needed for other study designs for more complex patients and situations. In more complex or rarer cases, it may take a long time to collect this data. This means that case studies ensure documentation and discussion surrounding rare conditions and cases. They also mean that the teaching or study is based around real life situations as opposed to learning from how patients are supposed to present. It is a good way to show that not everybody follows the textbook norm of disease presentation and progression.2 Case presentations can also act as a good reference point for if you come across a patient in a similar situation. They provide experimental learning and also help to stimulate learning by reading the case study and evaluating the outcome. It helps to dissect whether, if the situation would repeat itself in the same way, the same or similar outcome would occur in a different patient. They can help to ensure continued development of new ideas of treatment and management protocols. Data collected from case studies is normally much more in depth that ... This system consist of an ORTEC hyper pure germanium detector (HPGe), model number GEM 15190, coaxial type detector with a serial number 27 P 1876A recommended operating bias, negative 3 Kv. The detector used has crystal diameter 49.3 mm, and crystal length 47.1 mm. The HPGe detector has a full width at half maximum (FWHM) 0.9 keV at the 122 keV gamma transition of Co 57 and 1.9 keV at the 1332.5 keV of Co 60 gamma transition (Knoll, 2000). The detector has peak to Compton ratio about 44 keV. Compton ratio is the number of net counts in the 1.33 MeV peak channels divided by the average number of net counts in the channels representing the range from l.040 through 1.096 MeV which is part of the Compton region associated with the 1.33 MeV peak. They are classified into different types battery powered AUVs, propeller driven AUVs and buoyancy driven under water gliders. Among these, underwater gliders are highly efficient compared to the other types of gliders, because they spend most of their time in stable, steady motion and they spend their energy only when they are changing their equilibrium state. There are various ways in which these gliders can use buoyancy for maneuvering. For this model the movement of these gliders is controlled by the servo actuators which move the mass relative to the vehicle s frame and their motion control is affected by varying the parameters which affect the steady motion, such as the center of mass and buoyancy. These parameters are to be controlled for attaining a steady state motion. For this a control system needs to be designed which provides feedback in response to the errors which are present in the state of motion. [1][3] The main important area of concern for the underwater gliders has been their efficiency, then motion control is the secondary concern.

Adjustments to this forecasting model can be made by incorporating overall economic climate projections, long term weather forecasts, and commodity market futures. As evidenced in the sales plot, from January 31, 1995 through July 31, 2014 John Deere has enjoyed steady sales growth with seasonal peaks recorded at end of ... There are many reasons on how it is similar to today s society. For example, Trainspotting deals with being stuck between different choices. The movie shows the importance of having right friends. Lastly, I liked the way mental illnesses are presented in Trainspotting. . One of the main themes of Trainspotting is making decisions. In teen and pre adult lives, there are a lot of choices one needs to make. There could be anything from education to relationships: in which some people have a hard time dealing with the difficulties those choses pose. Renton, the protagonist, rants about choose life , and he chooses heroin as a way to escape the different choices. The times he does choose to lay off the drugs, he experiences withdrawal symptoms, like anybody else would after quitting drugs. This could be applied to Trainspotting. Tommy, against drugs and lies, suddenly collapses when his girlfriend leaves and he tries to find comfort in heroin just like his friends supposedly do. The Principles Of Radio Dequency Identification The acronym RFID stands for Radio frequency Identification, which is one of the most prominent technologies being used in the modern lifestyle, which has wide range of applications like enabling physical security in an enterprise, tracking objects/merchandise on a shop floor etc. A general RFID System has a Reader and Tags. The RFID tags are nothing but small sized transponders, which store small amount of data which can be either information about the product that is being tracked or any unique serial number directly fed into it and the information can be read multiple times by the reader . The antenna present in the passive tag converts the energy from electromagnetic field of the reader into an RF wave that is transmitted into the coverage zone of the reader. 33 Passive RFID tags find eligibility in applications which require low range of detection like access control, supply chain management etc. Apart from active and passive tags there is a new classification called Battery assisted passive tags . These tags have a small on board batteries which get activated in the presence of an RFID reader. It is clear that the above classification is based on the availability of power source in the RFID tag. Also it is known that the tags contain vital data regarding the object that is being tracked. The memory in the tags can be either a read only type of memory (a unique serial code embedded into the chip) or a read write/ programmable memory type in which the data in the tag can be written by the end user. You first see a woman dressed up all in black holding a martini shaker while a man is sitting in a round chair holding a martini glass. You can only see the man s hand and legs which creates a mysterious look with the combination of the setting being night time. The second thing you would see is the actual product in the corner of the ad because of the contrast of the dark bottle and the white table and chair. The white man sitting in the big round chair without his face reduces the attention of him which brings more attention towards the woman. I solved this issue by putting the weights in the back of the car like where the motor is. Then, I tested our car with 100g weights on the track, and the energy score increased. As a group, we decided to add more weights because as I put more weights on the car, the energy score increased. The Cultural and Historical Significance of the Film 12 Years A Slave The cultural and historical significance of the film has changed and reshaped the views and cultures of African Americans with the roles that they have as a race in society as a result of the racial formation and performance portrayed in the film. The movie presents a verifiable and precise account of the collective experience of slaves in the United States of America in the late 18th century. The basic facts of the movie from the start to the finish concern events about the places, the time, and the practices that took place during the slave era in detail. The movie is inspired by a book written by David Wilson about the narrative events of Solomon Northup as a slave. Both the book and the movie share the same title. In the book, he speaks with a lot of authority on all subjects especially enslavement of black Americans and in the process, he names popular leaders as well as several other landmarks without fear of contradiction because we understand that public records have enough knowledge to defend his position. In the movie, the slave trader is accused of keeping slaves as captive in a slave pen in Washington DC. Not only is the name of the slave and the slaver mentioned, but also their accomplices in addition to the location where the slave pen is located, the structure of the slave pen, an all details that allow one to imagine the scenario that of the poor slaves had to undergo, all stacked together ... The Challenger gave even more students hope for a promising future by offering scholarships in McAuliffe s and the crew s names. Even some schools are being created and named in honor of the fallen crew, especially McAuliffe. This is because her mission was to get people to want to learn, which she expressed as she made her journey to The Challenger. McAuliffe Regional Charter Public Middle School in Framing, Massachusetts annually celebrates her life by having students research the many aspects of space. Many schools around the world teach this subject. However, this school takes a different approach. Instead of sitting through the lectures of their teachers, students investigate the subjects with experts, work at labs at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, video chat with researchers in Japan, and interview many specialists. There is also more focus on science, mathematics, engineering, and technologies (STEM) at elementary schools such as McAuliffe elementary (Simpson). Van Roekel, a former teacher, explains how the timing of this integration was so critical for the developing youth by stating, When you think of the time, that s when we really started real efforts to knock down stereotypes that math and science were for boys and not girls. It has been considered an intellectual movement which has advocated for freedom, democracy, and reason. Many have also considered this time as the organized activity of French philosophers or also known as the philosophes, who were considered an informal society men of letters that contributed to the Encyclopedie. The Enlightenment affected the European population as well with more rights being given to the common people, more people becoming literate, decline in the church, and new formations of religions. One of these philosophies is Frederick the Great, King of Prussia. Frederick was an active follower of the Enlightenment and tried to change Prussia into an Enlightened state through some of these characteristics. Frederick the Great was ruler of Prussia from 1740 1786. He took over from his father, Frederick William I, who was considered to be coward and rarely got into wars. Frederick s term was during the Enlightenment, and like other rulers, Catherine the Great, Maria Theresa, and her son, Joseph, were all enlightened by the age and followed it. Since 200, more than 700 NFL players found themselves arrested. The NFL s responses were either a brief suspension or no suspension at all. Beau Buckley (2001) argue that when there is a lack of accountability in an organization s leadership, there is an antecedent of unethical behavior within the organization (as cited in Hoogervorst De Cremer, 2010). The Ivey Business Journal states Without Accountability leaders don t commit to, or own, the decisions they make, and cannot get others to do so. They blame others for poor outcomes and in doing so create a culture of fear and disengagement. People stop caring, with potentially disastrous consequences (Crossan Seijts, 2012). Initially the league offered no solutions that caused a loss of credibility. Following the arrest of Ray Rice, the Baltimore Ravens team owner stated I ve been on record of saying my definition of character is repeating offenses. But it also enables businesses to collect detailed information about a customer s purchasing history, preferences, and financial resources and to set prices accordingly. So when you buy an airplane ticket or a DVD online, you may pay a higher or lower price than another customer buying the very same item from the very same site. In September 2000, Amazon.com reportedly outraged some customers when its price discrimination was revealed. Repeat complaints or constant returns might then lead to a higher price. Or, more innocuously, demanding customers might be offered different deals, such as longer warranties, that fit their habit of asking for frequent service. Also, even when there are no differences among customers, one might think that random price drops such as those Amazon says it uses are innocuous, since in theory, every customer is equally likely to benefit from the lower prices, though in fact, only some do. Also, the prices aren t tailored to particular customers profiles, if they are offered truly randomly, so if it is the tailoring aspect that is troubling, random price drops eliminate it. Is it legal? The practice could also be legal if it violates antitrust or price fixing laws. The federal Robinson Patman Act requires sellers to treat all competing customers on the same basis, unless there is some recognized legal justification for different treatment.
