Borneo of Southeast Asia before the nineteenth century. I chose to specifically investigate the value
of stilt houses in Borneo because as a singular building how it became the container of a life for
various the tribes. Following the migratory patterns of these tribes into Borneo and across it, I hope
to unravel how these tribes fashion their environment but more importantly the characteristics of

Karen Blixen Christensen under her pseudonym Isak Dinesen. It is a collection of seven stories
that is included among them The Deluge of Norderney, The Supper at Elsinore, The Monkey and
The Old Chevalier among others. The first two stories listed above are the most well known of the
seven talesand amongst the authors most famous works. The book has been described as a modern
classic that contains seven stories which combine the psychological insight that is characteristic of
the short stories in the modern age with the gothic style writing that are characteristic of the tales in
the nineteenth century. Karen was a well known Danish author who rose to prominence with the

battle that befell the little market town of Gettysburg during the Civil War through the various

regardless of what color their uniform happened to be. Perspectives from both the Confederate and

Meaningful appropriation remains a vital precept of creativity and innovation. In the last 20 years,
many artists have constructed knowledge in forms of contemporary art from both social and
cultural sources. Artists have continuously remixed contents from certain cultures for new
expressive purposes. It is often deemed by members of the originating cultures, that appropriation in
the arts is disrespectful, as cultural elements become distorted and lost in translation. Meaningful
appropriation however is often misunderstood and is mainly viewed as borrowing that is in some
way inappropriate, unauthorised or undesirable. Although, artists in remixculturehave not
necessarily attempted to destroy cultures, but instead offer a new perspective to individuals by
