King Louis Ix And Richard Lionheart
The Medieval period was perhaps one of the most interesting and unique time periods in history. This
time is usually viewed as a lull in progress or lacking productivity, when in reality this was one of the
most pivotal points in history. Two people who played outstanding roles in this time period were those
of King Saint Louis IX of France and Richard Lionheart I of England. Both King Louis IX and
Richard Lionheart made significant social, political, and cultural advancements to society by
contributing leadership techniques and government systems that were pivotal in the Medieval times,
yet very contrasting of each other in their execution.
King Louis IX of France was born April 25, 1214 in Poissy, France to the parents of Louis VIII of
France and Blanche of Castille. King Louis, commonly known as Saint Louis, ruled from the age of
twelve after his father s death in 1226 until his death in 1270. He was the fourth born child, but the
three before him died at young ages, and seven were born after him. As a child, Louis had temper fits
which lead to questioning of his decision making as king of France. He married Margaret of Provence
at age twenty in 1234. Margaret was the sister in law to King Henry III of England, sisters with
Eleanor of Provence.
Richard The Lionheart I of England was born September 8, 1157 in Beaumont Palace, Oxford,
England to the parents of Henry II, and Eleanor of Aquitaine. He was given the nickname Lionheart
because of his immense strength and

The Internet Archive Preserves The Live Web
The Internet archive preserves the live web by saving snapshots of the websites made with a specific
date which can be browsed or searched for various reasons. Its object is to save the whole web without
being in favor of a specific lan guage, domain or geographical location. The importance of archiving
made it important to check its coverage. In this paper, we try to determine how well Arabic websites
are archived and indexed, and if the number of archived and indexed websites is affected by by
country code top level domain, geographic location, creation date and depth. We also crawled for
Arabic hyperlinks and checked its archiving and indexing.

1. INTRODUCTION
Arabic Language is the fourth largest language on the Internet, it comes after English, Chines and
Spanish. Arabic Internet users have grown rapidly, in the year of 2009 17% of Arabic speaker use the
Internet and at 2013 almost 36% of Arabic speakers use the Internet. Now, almost 135.6 million
Arabic users are on the Internet [1].
As the Web grows quickly and at the same time pages are disappearing the need for archiving is
becoming more important [3]. Web pages need to be preserved for the future cul tural data mining.
Archiving the Internet is becoming very important and several numbers of institutions have created
archives to preserve websites. However, to our knowledge we could not find any Arabic institute that
specializes in collecting and preserving Arabic web pages.
This growth in users of Arabic web pages requires some statistical overview of Arabic websites that
exist in the live web, how far do they exist, how much of it is archived and how well are they
archived. To answer those

Investigate how the Concentration of a Sucrose Solution...
Investigate how the Concentration of a Sucrose Solution affects the Rate of Osmosis
Introduction:
Diffusion is the movement of particles from a high concentration to a low concentration until they are
spread out evenly. An example of diffusion is when an aerosol is sprayed. The particles spread out
from the high concentration at the nozzle into the rest of the room and that is how the smell moves.
Osmosis is the passage of water molecules from a weaker solution to a stronger solution through a
partially permeable membrane. Osmosis is a type of diffusion involving water the water molecules
move from a weak solution (with a high concentration of water) into a strong solution (with a low
concentration of water).
The cell membrane in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The reason I predict that three will increase in mass and two decrease is because in my preliminary
experiment this was shown to be the case in these concentrations, however this could change in my
real experiment.
The chips that increase in mass have taken on more water which means that at the beginning of the
experiment the sucrose solution had a higher concentration of water than the chip and this is likely to
apply to the weaker sucrose solutions as they have a low concentration of sugar and therefore a high
percentage of water molecules. The strong sucrose solutions have a higher percentage of sugar
molecules and therefore a lower percentage of water molecules and if the concentration of water in the
potato chip is higher than in the solution then water will leave the potato chip by osmosis and
therefore the chip will lose mass. The water molecules move into cells that contain a lower
concentration due to the difference in osmotic potential between cells. The water molecules move
through a semi permeable membrane (the cell membrane) which has big enough holes in it to let
through the small water molecules, but not the bigger sucrose molecules. At a certain concentration of
sucrose solution the concentration of water will be the same in both the chip and the solution which
means there will be no transferral of water between the

i. Introduction:

I would describe myself as someone with a deep understanding of self, someone who can recognize
and yield meaning from all of the life s experiences, both the good and the bad. Viktor Frankl said, if
there is a meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering. From my experiences of
personal and family tragedies, I know that suffering is part of life and is unavoidable, it is as certain as
death and completes our journey here on earth; however, we should not let this suffering go to waste
but let it contribute to a deeper meaning to our lives. Through this process my life has been enriched,

Uncertainty In Physics
Lab # 1: Measurements and Uncertainty in Physics Experiments 1 4 Dylan Adams Date: June 22,
2016 Abstract: Experiments 1 4 focused on using different types of measuring tools, and the
uncertainty that goes on while using these tools. The lab focused on rulers, calipers, spring scales, and
stopwatches. Each different type of measurement was analyzed for precision, accuracy, and
uncertainty. Students learned how to calculate measurements on a Vernier caliper, by using the least
half count. Students also learned the formula that was used to obtain the measurement from a caliper:
Lower tick mark value of major scale reading plus the number of least count spaces on the minor scale
multiplied by the least count of the minor scale. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As seen in table 1, the caliper was much more accurate than the ruler. This is true because the caliper
is much easier to read, and has less uncertainty than the ruler. The caliper has less uncertainty than the
ruler because it has the ability to measure at a smaller unit than the ruler. The source of error in this
experiment was that the caliper could easily be bent, giving incorrect measurements. In experiment 2
students tested the uncertainty and accuracy of a 5 and 10 N spring scale. As seen in table 2, the 5 N
spring scale had less uncertainty than the 10 N spring scale. Because of this, the 5N spring scale was
more accurate. The only downfall to the 5N spring scale was that it was not large enough to measure
the weight of the modeling clay. In experiment 3, students tested the error and uncertainty of using a
stopwatch. As seen in table 3, using a stopwatch gave a large variety of measurements. Since the time
it took the marble to fall was so small, it was hard to react quick enough to give accurate readings.
Lastly, in experiment 4 students tried to determine the density of the mass set. As seen in table 4,
students used the radius, diameter, and height in order to find the volume. Once they found the volume
they used the weight of 100 grams in order to find the density. The density of the mass set was found
to be 9.03. This value was closest to the density of copper, but the

Disagreement In A Discipline Essay
The above question invited the knowledge question: what are the fundamental causes for
disagreements within a discipline? I have chosen history and mathematics as my areas of knowledge
to investigate the causes of disagreement referring to various ways of knowing to prove my claim. I
think that there are several causes why there are disagreements within a discipline, one of the main
reasons being emotion. Emotion is a strong feeling such as joy or anger, it can also be an instinctive
feeling distinguished from reasoning or knowledge. Knowledge is made up of facts, information and
skills a person has acquired through experience or education. Reasoning is an explanation or
justification; we use it whenever we make a decision. Reasoning is very closely linked to emotion as
our past experiences can influence the decisions we make. I have chosen to ... Show more content on

To answer the question: given access to the same facts how is it possible that there can be
disagreement between experts in a discipline , it is very possible that there can be disagreements
between experts in a discipline because even though normally a fact is a fact which is the truth
however sometimes facts allow for your own interpretation which causes disagreements. Emotion is
the biggest cause of disagreement as emotions can subconsciously affect you which means that
without you knowing it your opinion gets changed. Reasoning can also cause disagreements because
experts might have different interpretations however the fact will still be the same. In mathematics
disagreements are not accepted, as there is no interpretation that can be made on other the other hand,
in history disagreements are more common, because there is some room for interpretation however,
historians try to be as objective as they can so that the information we read is as accurate as

Abstract
The aim of this research papers is to illustrate a linkage between project strategies to the overall
strategy of the business. Unfortunately, there has been limited research, frameworks and matrixes
performed in this area to be used for any concrete decision making. Currently, organizations do not
comprehend the risks they are taking by not linking their project strategy and management strategy
with organizational goals. Further, the way an organization perceive the project s strategy and
management effects the overall execution. Thus, this paper sheds light on two main ... Show more

Project s Value Understanding
Basically, it is not enough for manager to only have a good grasp of strategic value for the project
execution, there have been studies illustrating that projects should use their own strategy so that its
execution (Arnaboldi et al.2004; Anderson and Merna, 2001) is independent and is not restricted by
organizational goals. However, there are instances where some innovative projects are essential for the
progression of the organization. Further, these projects require autonomy with respect to the
execution. In addition, there are conditions where accurate dynamics for these projects are essential
while assessing the implementation phase with the overall organizational strategy.
Portfolio Management: Effective Tracking
The second major process that is heavily examined in projects is portfolio management. This is an
essential area to be observed by managers because projects in countless organizations are performed in
an ad hoc manner. Further, managers often select various processes in an informal decision making
process as a result of some internal requirements.
Furthermore, this informal initiation of the project may also affect the execution requirements and
priorities are also taken into consideration in a very informal way by the organization. This leads to
altering the priorities of resources which might negatively impact the execution of

Work Rate and Oxygen Uptake
The Relationship Between Work Rate And Oxygen Uptake During Incremental Submaximal Exercise
Introduction
Oxygen uptake () describes the rate at which oxygen is utilized by tissues (Burton et al, 2004). is
determined by heart rate (heart beats each minute), stroke volume (the volume of blood pumped from
one ventricle each beat) and arteriovenous oxygen difference (difference in blood oxygen content
between arterial and venous blood). Oxygen is needed for respiration, the chemical process that
produces energy in the form of ATP. Several sources agree that oxygen uptake increases linearly with
exercise, this is due to the skeletal muscles requirement for more oxygen for the production of more
ATP. Hanson et al (1998) measured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For the participant in this trial to sustain 60rpm, their muscles must produce progressively more force
after each increment, as 0.5kg resistance is applied to the flywheel each time, therefore the energy
demands of the muscle progressively increase. A deviation from the trend during the middle of the
trial was not expected as most sources agree the relationship is linear (Burton, Özyener, Glassford),
however Astrand (1961) found a non linear steeper increase in during the middle stages. Astrand s non
linear pattern may be explained by production of power increasing to a point beyond the lactate
threshold, the point at which lactic acid starts to accumulate in the blood. A slowly developing
increase in during constant work rate exercise performed above the lactate threshold produces a
curvilinear relationship and is known as the slow component of kinetics (Jones et al, 2011). The cause
for the steep increase at the final stage of the trial is supported by the research of Bernard et al (1996),
who measured the effects of increasing exercise intensities recording oxygen consumption and heart
rate simultaneously. Findings revealed a significant correlation with the best predictions of from work
rate observed at higher intensities. Bernard s findings support results in table 1 that

Shrek Rhetorical Analysis Essay People have always watched fairytales at a very young age, growing
up to believe in them. Some watched them to obtain some kind illusion, for pure entertainment, and
others for the sake of love. However, not every fairytale has a purpose of giving us an illusion, of
entertaining us, or making us believe in love. Shrek is not a typical fairytale. Even though many
people see Shrek along with other fairytales as any other movie created for entertainment, it is a
satirical critique of the archetypes involved in a fairytale. While in many fairytales we have a knight, a
damsel in distress, a partner, and a villain, Shrek changes ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is universally understood that the means of such expression refer to a pair of lovers whose
relationship is sabotaged by outside forces. It is seen as Shrek develops feelings for Fiona, and Fiona
falls in love with Shrek. It is pretty odd because Shrek is a huge ogre and Fiona is just a tiny human
princess, who was supposed to marry a prince. Even donkey mentions to Shrek that She s as nasty as
you are. Another quality they have in common. It is not the star crossed lovers fairytale we are used to,
but their feelings are so true and pure. What changes, is Fiona s transformation into an ogre which
makes things easier for the couple. The director uses pathos to appeal to the audience emotions and
make them develop a connection between the complicated but true love both of these characters have
developed. A friendly beast or an animal companion, who helps guide the hero throughout the quest, is
expected to be someone brave, smart, and helpful. Shrek s friendly beast is an ass. The denotation for
this ass would be a donkey but in society, the connotation for calling a donkey an ass is seen as saying
they are stupid and imbecile. Donkey proves to be a different friendly beast by always making stupid
jokes, fearing every single part of the quest, and complicating things up for Shrek instead of making
them simpler. Even though he may not be very helpful, he is still a very loyal and kind

Correlation Between Wood And Aluminum Surfaces And Their...
This experiment examined the relation between wood and aluminum surfaces and their friction. The
coefficient of static and kinetic friction can be derived from the experiments with the use of a
horizontal Atwood s machine and a Super Pulley. The static friction was tested by setting up an
equilibrium with the hanging mass and the frictional force. Three tests were conducted with increasing
additional mass on the friction block. An unbalanced force was required to test for the coefficient of
kinetic friction. This is possible through solving for the acceleration of the unbalanced force. The total
mass of the system is constant through all four of the tests, but different masses were added to the
hanging mass so that the acceleration would have a variety of different accelerations to accurately
solve for the kinetic friction. As a result, our coefficient of static and kinetic friction are μs = 0.26 ±
0.02 and μk = 0.30 ± 0.01 respectively.
Introduction
According to Collin College, the coefficient of static and kinetic friction are μs = 0.30 and μk = 0.20
respectively. However, the lab material has worn out over time, so their coefficient of frictions may be
different from the regular coefficient of friction. The purpose of this experiment is to determine the
coefficient of kinetic and static friction between aluminum and wood in the lab. These were
determined with the use of a horizontal Atwood s machine
The test conducted on a horizontal Atwood s machine was accomplished by

What Are The Questions In The Death Of Ivan Ilych
Philosophical Interview There comes a time in every person s life, when they start to ask questions
like: What is the purpose of life? and What would I regret if I died tomorrow? The opinions usually
vary from people of different ages, gender, and social group. The novel The Death Of Ivan Ilych, by
Leo Tolstoy, challenges you to ask yourself questions, not much different from the ones mentioned
above, about the life you have lived, and the future outcome of it. This process may put perspective on
your life, organize your priorities, and start the removal of unnecessary distractions.
After interviewing people of different ages, my belief that only two answers were possible was
diminished. I asked people what their opinion was on marriage, and if it was necessary to achieve a
happy life. For some of the interviewees, I asked follow up questions, Would you personally feel that
your life was incomplete if you never did get married? and If you fell in love would marriage be an
open option? Some people responded with confidence, and others uncertainty. Some thought through
this concept before, but for the others, it never crossed their minds once. The ... Show more content on

to think that nobody should get married because you can share the same connection without the

marry, and desire the independency, that is perfectly fine, and accepted. I don t mind if I get married,
and I don t mind if I don t. I would prefer to fall in love, and spend my life with someone who cares

According to Maxwell and Knox (2009), academics and practitioners have extolled the potential
benefits of having a well managed cooperate brand. They have also acknowledged that corporate
branding brings new challenges that cannot be readily addressed within a traditional marketing
framework, including a need to ensure that employee behavior is consistently aligned with the
company s brand promise, but previous research has tended to focus on issues related to recruitment.
As a result, little is known about how employer branding can actually be used to support the corporate
brand. More specifically, researchers have yet to explain what makes an organization s employer
brand attractive to current employees (Maxwell Knox, 2009).
More specifically, theorists argue that a corporate brand should be closely aligned with the identity of
the organization. Corporate brand communications may include symbolism and conventional
communications such as advertising and PR. However, corporate branding also involves multiple
stakeholders interacting with numerous staff in multiple departments across an organization it
provides external stakeholders with information about the identity of the organization and if this

Tell Tale Heart Analysis Essay
True! Nervous very, very dreadfully nervous I had been and am; but why will you say that I am mad?
In the story A Tell Tale Heart the narrator believes that the actions he takes throughout the whole story
are completely normal. The eye of the old man is what the narrator says possessed him to kill him.
The central idea that Poe is revolving around the main character is the ideas of guilt, obsession, and
madness. The author uses repetition to really exemplify that the narrator was obsessed with the eye of
the man. In the story A Tell Tale Heart the narrator is mad. In the very first paragraph one of the first
clues that proves this is when he says I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many
things in hell. He is imagining that he can hear everything around him. To really exemplify the idea
that he is mad the author uses repetition for this as well. Throughout the story the narrator asks the

the eye that caused him to kill the old man. For 7 long nights the narrator would sneak into the room
of the old man at midnight and open a crevice in his lantern to see the eye of the old man. It took him
seven nights because every time he would see the old mans face his eyes were closed because he was
sleeping. He didn t hate the old man, he was fond of him the only thing that fueled the murder was his
vulture eye. On the eight night the narrator was sneaking into the room when he made a noise and the
old man heard him. He stood there silent for an hour and slowly he opened the lantern until a simple
dim ray, like the thread of the spider, shot from out the crevice and fell full upon the vulture eye .
When he say the eye it finally fueled him to kill the old man and that is what he

Golden Retrievers Speech Analysis
I chose to write my informative speech about Golden Retrievers and my purpose of this speech was to
give the class more information about the dog breed Golden Retrievers. In this self evaluation I will be
evaluating two of my strengths and two of my weaknesses to better improve by public speaking skills.
My two strengths would include using and citing multiple sources and having effective transitions. My
two weaknesses would include inadequate direct eye contact and having a weak introduction. First, I
will start with the aspects that I have exceled at during my informative speech. The first strength
would be the use of my sources and how I included them and cited them in the presentation. Overall I
found 6 great sources which helped be better ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
During the transitions I made sure to take a step back and a step forward. I did this by reviewing what
I had just talked about and I then introduced the information that I was about to cover. Another
considerable aspect of the transitions was that I used a blank slide in between the main topics to that
when I was transitioning people were focused on what I was saying and not what was on the slide
show. Also, there were some difficulties that came about during my speech, one of those difficulties
being inadequate direct eye contact. During the length of the speech there were not many time where I
looked up and talked directly to my classmates. Something I could have done better to improve this
would be to practice even more to ensure that I wouldn t need to look at my notecards and slides as
often. I also could have practiced when to look up and have a successful glance at my audience to
have improved eye contact. Finally, one of the main aspects that could have used improvement would
be the introduction. The attention getter was not as effective as I had hoped it would be. It didn t seem
to grab anybody s attention so the speech was already off to a not so great start. While the main topics
were introduced it could have been done more effectively instead of just listing of the three main
topics. Also the thesis statement could have been more thought out with more information about my

Digging Seamus Heaney
Eye color, height, even most of your personality is inherited from your parents, and those same traits
from their parents, and so on. Every offspring inherits traits from their parents, but Seamus Heaney
discusses the trait of hard work ethic. A work ethic so strong it is passed down through the generations
of a family. It is a hard work that over time has provided a way of life and means of supporting a
family. Through use of flashbacks and vivid imagery, we get a glimpse at this amazing way of life.
One of the most important pieces of Digging is how the speaker begins about to write something and
how he/she ends that way. As the writer sits down and is about to start writing, they hear a rasping
sound outside the window. As they look down, they see their father under the window, digging. The
speaker s father is described to be straining and working hard. Against the inside knee was levered

Just like his old man. (15 16). These two lines are where we first see the inheritance of the hard work
of digging. The speaker s father s skill of digging is compared to his father before him. The words the
speaker uses in these lines indicates that his father and grandfather are of equal skill. The speaker goes
on to describe his grandfathers skill with a spade. He says that, My grandfather cut more turf in a day
than any other man on Toner s bog (17 18); Further enforcing the idea that the family has a strong skill
for wielding a spade. The author uses the repetition of the word Digging in lines 9 and 24 to reinforce
the comparison between the speaker s father and

Urban, And Rural Primary Care Clinics
The participants were chosen from different academic, urban, and rural primary care clinics.
Wisconsin Research Education network helped them locate eligible candidates based on the electronic
health records from primary care offices. Then the providers mailed out letters for the researchers
inviting the candidates to join the study. They also put up posters in waiting areas of primary care
offices to allow people who were interested to contact the research office directly. The inclusion
criteria included young adults, 18 39 years old, with a diagnosis of hypertension within the past 12
months of joining the study. They should also be aware of their hypertension diagnosis. There were

the National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey, the young adult group ages 18 39 have the
worst control of their blood pressure, only about 35% have good control. Each focus group was
moderated, digitally audio recorded, and then transcribed by the University of Wisconsin survey
center. In order to make sure participantrs knew what to expect and agree to the study, they had to
review an IRB approved summary sheet and give verbal consent once more. Right after the focus

transcriptions were reviewed for accuracy by the research staff.

Technology And Its Effects On Aphasia Patients
B. Thesis: While technology plays a huge role in many aspects of Aphasia research, in the field of
Aphasia treatment, the use of technology is still largely developing. AAC technology has a lot of
potential to aid in the communication abilities of Aphasia patients, however, currently its use in
aphasia treatment is not as efficient as its benefits in aphasia patients do not seem to be generalizable
to real life communication outside of the treatment setting. II. Background A. What is Aphasia? 1.
Aphasia is typically caused by damage to the portion of the brain that is primarily responsible for
language. It is a communication disorder that can results in impaired speech and language
comprehension. 2. Aphasia does not present itself in the same way for everybody. Depending on the
kind of damage suffered, it can vary throughout patient s (Jacobs et al., 2004). a) Language production
may be very limited cannot speak fluently b) Some may have more trouble with comprehension
aspects speak fluently but words used don t make sense used incorrectly c) Because it is related to
brain damage, there are other cognitive deficits that may be associated with aphasia, depending on the
type of damage. 3. Every individual patient with chronic aphasia differs, which means treatment has to
be flexible and adaptable to the patient. B. What is AAC? 1. Augmentative and Alternative

Role Of A Woman Within Islam And Their Daily Source Of...
Women in Islam are constantly viewed, from the Western standpoint, as a suppressed culture. Though
this may be true to certain extents, such as not mixing in with the men at mosque, we can find that
generally, the Islamic woman is well respected and held in high regard. Women in Islam are; mothers,
sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi 4). Within this
research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islam and their daily source of happiness.
An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American
woman. In some aspects, an American woman may be in awe to learn the truth behind the Muslim
female world. For example, when a married American woman has a family to support and works to
provide income, this is to help her husband support their family together. Though in the Islamic world,
the female Muslim works for her own accord. Due to Islamic law, a woman may work to acquire
money, however her earnings are hers and hers only. If she chooses to help her husband support the
family with her earnings, she may do so (which is common practice).
Another common misconception when comparing an American woman to an Islamic woman would be
their appearances. The American woman typically strives to be the best looking one in the bunch,
show enough skin, but not too much skin. Put on enough makeup to cover blemishes and skin
problems. Wear the newest, hippest clothing they are allowed to

In today s society, law enforcement is facing increased scrutiny and distrust. As we have seen during a

Due to migration the practice has been extended today to western world countries. Many families

Arranged marriage is a marital union where a third party matches the bride and the groom; arranged
marriages were common globally until the 18th century. In modern times, arranged marriages are

One pimp was actually nice and looked out for her during all times. When Sterk said, I m sorry for
you, to one of the prostitutes, she got insulted thinking that Sterk intended to say that she felt sorry for

she was genuinely concerned for the prostitute. According to me, fieldwork is a tremendously difficult
and challenging work area because one has to essentially go out and ultimately get their hands filthy
and put their life in threatening situations. Sterk also had to deal with the same things that the
prostitutes had to such as: pimps, crack heads, other prostitutes, vulgar clients, and the horrible

Different Types of Arthritis Essay
Different Types of Arthritis
Someone once told me, that if I keep popping my knuckles it will cause arthritis in my hands in the
future. Did you know that s a myth? I sure didn t. It turns out that the cracking noise from your
knuckles are just a rapid collapse of gaseous bubbles. While arthritis is stiffness of the joints with
painful inflammation. There are many types of arthritis out there. Some of them can be mild and
others can be severe. Some of them can causes a physical change to your body, such as your hands and
feet, and some types you don t even physically notice. As I was researching arthritis is amazed me
how many different types there actually are. I could name a bunch of them but today I am only going

It has also been proven that eating purines, which is in meat and fish, can also increase your chances
on getting gout. When going to the doctor they may take your blood to test for uric acid or even take
fluid from your joints. The treatment for gout is a shot of corticosteroids. You may also want to rest
the joints that are swelling for your own comfort.
As I said earlier gout effects the big toe, but for rheumatoid arthritis, it for the most part effects the
hands and the feet. Rheumatoid arthritis happens in the more flexible joints. Because it is most
affective in the hands and feet, you can see a physical difference in people who are diagnosed with
this type of arthritis. This type of arthritis is more common in the middle age group but that doesn t
mean it cannot occur in other ages. RA is still has an unknown cause but they believe that systemic
autoimmune disease plays a big part of the reason it develops. Treatment for rheumatoid arthritis is
close to the same as osteoarthritis. Doctors say that physical therapy would be highly recommended
and that you should take some sort of an anti inflammatory medication.
RA is more common in the hands and feet, whereas spondyloarthropathy is more common in your
back or pelvic region. This type of arthritis is also very common in children. Spondyloarthropathy is a
gene that could possibly be passed down from generation to generation. The gene is called HLA B27.

The, Dinner With Mary Morstan And Watson
Cognitive Psychology is the study of the human mind; it is how we reason, decide, and produce and
comprehend language. In order achieve this we use both mental representations and mental processes.
Like in any other situation, much of these cognitive functions are being used in the Sherlock s Holmes
YouTube video Dinner with Mary Morstan and Watson .
At the beginning of the clip, you can hear the noise of the restaurant. Holmes closes his eyes, then
shortly afterwards Watson calls his name. This redirects his attention to the source of the stimulus,
Watson. We refer to this phenomenon as the Cocktail Party Effect. This effect describes the brain s
ability to block out unimportant stimuli in order to focus upon more important stimuli. They are doing
this in the restaurant with a room filled with people; who are having their own separate conversations
yet they are still able to ignore background conversations and focus on theirs. Furthermore, the
Stoplight Theory indicated that our attention is invoked Like Spotlight that highlights information
within its beam, in this view, spatial attention selectively brings information within a circumscribed
region of space to awareness, and information out that region is more likely to be ignored. (Kosslyn,
2007, p. 130) Indicating that whatever falls within our region is our main focus of attention. In
addition, while Holmes is analyzing Mary, he is able to concentrate on individual bits of detail while
placing his awareness solely

How does heart rate change with exercise?
When someone who exercises a lot such as a person that does sports the pulse rate level rises much
less than in a person that doesn t exercise a lot or does sports. You can check your heart by taking the
tips of your first two fingers to press gently over your blood vessels on your wrist count your pulse for
10 seconds and multiply by 6 to find your beats per minute. You want to stay between 50percent to 85
percent of your heart rate. That is how you check your pulse.
The heart becomes stronger as a result of exercise so it can pump blood through the body with every

Cronon s View On Wilderness
However Cronon does acknowledge the positivity associated with the idea of wilderness when he
concludes his argument with an intriguing question: How can we take the positive values we associate
with wilderness and bring them closer to home? I believe that part of the answer to this question
comes from the rhetoric of these vary same 19th Century romantic thinkers who were able to develop
true connections to the landscape around them.
Developing a connection to the landscape was a primary focus of one of the 19th century writers that
Cronon critiques, Henry David Thoreau. In order to understand how Thoreau developed his ideas on
wilderness, it is important to understand the political and economic environment in which he lived in.
At the time ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He concludes one of his final chapters of Walden by stating that, we need the tonic of wildness.
Thoreau believes that there is a quality associated with wild landscapes that humans need in order to
function as a species. Instead of writing about the overpowering experience that we can find in
untouched landscapes, Thoreau rather focuses on bringing those experiences back to our home. In a
journal, Thoreau writes that, It is in vain to dream of a wildness distant from ourselves. There is none
such. It is in the bog in our brain and bowels, the primitive vigor of Nature in us, that inspires that
dream. I shall never find in the wilds of Labrador any greater wildness than in some recess in
Concord, i.e., than I import into it. (J, IX, 43). Thoreau learned about the overpowering and personal
sensory experiences that you can feel in the wilderness and learned that you can bring that quality of
nature back to home and still have the same experience. And I believe that this is the essential point
that Thoreau brings to American culture with Walden. Thoreau wants Americans to bring this tonic of
wildness to everyday life because he believes it is missing and can make their lives deliberate and
fulfilled. Thoreau s overwhelming appreciating of the tonic of wildness is furthermore important
based on the fact that the last passage he writes in Walden

  • 2. King Louis Ix And Richard Lionheart The Medieval period was perhaps one of the most interesting and unique time periods in history. This time is usually viewed as a lull in progress or lacking productivity, when in reality this was one of the most pivotal points in history. Two people who played outstanding roles in this time period were those of King Saint Louis IX of France and Richard Lionheart I of England. Both King Louis IX and Richard Lionheart made significant social, political, and cultural advancements to society by contributing leadership techniques and government systems that were pivotal in the Medieval times, yet very contrasting of each other in their execution. King Louis IX of France was born April 25, 1214 in Poissy, France to the parents of Louis VIII of France and Blanche of Castille. King Louis, commonly known as Saint Louis, ruled from the age of twelve after his father s death in 1226 until his death in 1270. He was the fourth born child, but the three before him died at young ages, and seven were born after him. As a child, Louis had temper fits which lead to questioning of his decision making as king of France. He married Margaret of Provence at age twenty in 1234. Margaret was the sister in law to King Henry III of England, sisters with Eleanor of Provence. Richard The Lionheart I of England was born September 8, 1157 in Beaumont Palace, Oxford, England to the parents of Henry II, and Eleanor of Aquitaine. He was given the nickname Lionheart because of his immense strength and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Internet Archive Preserves The Live Web The Internet archive preserves the live web by saving snapshots of the websites made with a specific date which can be browsed or searched for various reasons. Its object is to save the whole web without being in favor of a specific lan guage, domain or geographical location. The importance of archiving made it important to check its coverage. In this paper, we try to determine how well Arabic websites are archived and indexed, and if the number of archived and indexed websites is affected by by country code top level domain, geographic location, creation date and depth. We also crawled for Arabic hyperlinks and checked its archiving and indexing. We sampled 15092 unique URIs from three different Arabic website directories; DMOZ ... Third, we found that websites with Arabic country code top level domain or Arabic geographical Internet protocol location were archived and indexed more than websites that don t. Fourth, we found that only 34% of the URIs with depth more than one were indexed. 1. INTRODUCTION Arabic Language is the fourth largest language on the Internet, it comes after English, Chines and Spanish. Arabic Internet users have grown rapidly, in the year of 2009 17% of Arabic speaker use the Internet and at 2013 almost 36% of Arabic speakers use the Internet. Now, almost 135.6 million Arabic users are on the Internet [1]. As the Web grows quickly and at the same time pages are disappearing the need for archiving is becoming more important [3]. Web pages need to be preserved for the future cul tural data mining. Archiving the Internet is becoming very important and several numbers of institutions have created archives to preserve websites. However, to our knowledge we could not find any Arabic institute that specializes in collecting and preserving Arabic web pages. This growth in users of Arabic web pages requires some statistical overview of Arabic websites that exist in the live web, how far do they exist, how much of it is archived and how well are they archived. • 4. Investigate how the Concentration of a Sucrose Solution... Investigate how the Concentration of a Sucrose Solution affects the Rate of Osmosis Introduction: Diffusion is the movement of particles from a high concentration to a low concentration until they are spread out evenly. An example of diffusion is when an aerosol is sprayed. The particles spread out from the high concentration at the nozzle into the rest of the room and that is how the smell moves. Osmosis is the passage of water molecules from a weaker solution to a stronger solution through a partially permeable membrane. Osmosis is a type of diffusion involving water the water molecules move from a weak solution (with a high concentration of water) into a strong solution (with a low concentration of water). The cell membrane in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason I predict that three will increase in mass and two decrease is because in my preliminary experiment this was shown to be the case in these concentrations, however this could change in my real experiment. The chips that increase in mass have taken on more water which means that at the beginning of the experiment the sucrose solution had a higher concentration of water than the chip and this is likely to apply to the weaker sucrose solutions as they have a low concentration of sugar and therefore a high percentage of water molecules. The strong sucrose solutions have a higher percentage of sugar molecules and therefore a lower percentage of water molecules and if the concentration of water in the potato chip is higher than in the solution then water will leave the potato chip by osmosis and therefore the chip will lose mass. The water molecules move into cells that contain a lower concentration due to the difference in osmotic potential between cells. The water molecules move through a semi permeable membrane (the cell membrane) which has big enough holes in it to let through the small water molecules, but not the bigger sucrose molecules. At a certain concentration of sucrose solution the concentration of water will be the same in both the chip and the solution which means there will be no transferral of water between the two ... Exploration: I would describe myself as someone with a deep understanding of self, someone who can recognize and yield meaning from all of the life s experiences, both the good and the bad. Viktor Frankl said, if there is a meaning in life at all, then there must be a meaning in suffering. From my experiences of personal and family tragedies, I know that suffering is part of life and is unavoidable, it is as certain as death and completes our journey here on earth; however, we should not let this suffering go to waste but let it contribute to a deeper meaning to our lives. • 7. Uncertainty In Physics Lab # 1: Measurements and Uncertainty in Physics Experiments 1 4 Dylan Adams Date: June 22, 2016 Abstract: Experiments 1 4 focused on using different types of measuring tools, and the uncertainty that goes on while using these tools. The lab focused on rulers, calipers, spring scales, and stopwatches. Each different type of measurement was analyzed for precision, accuracy, and uncertainty. Students learned how to calculate measurements on a Vernier caliper, by using the least half count. Students also learned the formula that was used to obtain the measurement from a caliper: Lower tick mark value of major scale reading plus the number of least count spaces on the minor scale multiplied by the least count of the minor scale. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As seen in table 1, the caliper was much more accurate than the ruler. This is true because the caliper is much easier to read, and has less uncertainty than the ruler. The caliper has less uncertainty than the ruler because it has the ability to measure at a smaller unit than the ruler. The source of error in this experiment was that the caliper could easily be bent, giving incorrect measurements. In experiment 2 students tested the uncertainty and accuracy of a 5 and 10 N spring scale. As seen in table 2, the 5 N spring scale had less uncertainty than the 10 N spring scale. Because of this, the 5N spring scale was more accurate. The only downfall to the 5N spring scale was that it was not large enough to measure the weight of the modeling clay. In experiment 3, students tested the error and uncertainty of using a stopwatch. As seen in table 3, using a stopwatch gave a large variety of measurements. Since the time it took the marble to fall was so small, it was hard to react quick enough to give accurate readings. Lastly, in experiment 4 students tried to determine the density of the mass set. As seen in table 4, students used the radius, diameter, and height in order to find the volume. Once they found the volume they used the weight of 100 grams in order to find the density. The density of the mass set was found to be 9.03. This value was closest to the density of copper, but the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Disagreement In A Discipline Essay The above question invited the knowledge question: what are the fundamental causes for disagreements within a discipline? I have chosen history and mathematics as my areas of knowledge to investigate the causes of disagreement referring to various ways of knowing to prove my claim. I think that there are several causes why there are disagreements within a discipline, one of the main reasons being emotion. Emotion is a strong feeling such as joy or anger, it can also be an instinctive feeling distinguished from reasoning or knowledge. Knowledge is made up of facts, information and skills a person has acquired through experience or education. Reasoning is an explanation or justification; we use it whenever we make a decision. Reasoning is very closely linked to emotion as our past experiences can influence the decisions we make. I have chosen to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To answer the question: given access to the same facts how is it possible that there can be disagreement between experts in a discipline , it is very possible that there can be disagreements between experts in a discipline because even though normally a fact is a fact which is the truth however sometimes facts allow for your own interpretation which causes disagreements. Emotion is the biggest cause of disagreement as emotions can subconsciously affect you which means that without you knowing it your opinion gets changed. Reasoning can also cause disagreements because experts might have different interpretations however the fact will still be the same. In mathematics disagreements are not accepted, as there is no interpretation that can be made on other the other hand, in history disagreements are more common, because there is some room for interpretation however, historians try to be as objective as they can so that the information we read is as accurate as ... Relationship Of Project For Business Operations Relationship of project to strategy of the business Surrena Hooks MSL 5080 13D 3B15 S1, Methods of Analysis for Business Operations February 17, 2015 Abstract The aim of this research papers is to illustrate a linkage between project strategies to the overall strategy of the business. Unfortunately, there has been limited research, frameworks and matrixes performed in this area to be used for any concrete decision making. Currently, organizations do not comprehend the risks they are taking by not linking their project strategy and management strategy with organizational goals. Further, the way an organization perceive the project s strategy and management effects the overall execution. Thus, this paper sheds light on two main ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Project s Value Understanding Basically, it is not enough for manager to only have a good grasp of strategic value for the project execution, there have been studies illustrating that projects should use their own strategy so that its execution (Arnaboldi et al.2004; Anderson and Merna, 2001) is independent and is not restricted by organizational goals. However, there are instances where some innovative projects are essential for the progression of the organization. Further, these projects require autonomy with respect to the execution. In addition, there are conditions where accurate dynamics for these projects are essential while assessing the implementation phase with the overall organizational strategy. Portfolio Management: Effective Tracking The second major process that is heavily examined in projects is portfolio management. This is an essential area to be observed by managers because projects in countless organizations are performed in an ad hoc manner. Further, managers often select various processes in an informal decision making process as a result of some internal requirements. Furthermore, this informal initiation of the project may also affect the execution requirements and priorities are also taken into consideration in a very informal way by the organization. This leads to altering the priorities of resources which might negatively impact the execution of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. Work Rate and Oxygen Uptake The Relationship Between Work Rate And Oxygen Uptake During Incremental Submaximal Exercise Introduction Oxygen uptake () describes the rate at which oxygen is utilized by tissues (Burton et al, 2004). is determined by heart rate (heart beats each minute), stroke volume (the volume of blood pumped from one ventricle each beat) and arteriovenous oxygen difference (difference in blood oxygen content between arterial and venous blood). Oxygen is needed for respiration, the chemical process that produces energy in the form of ATP. Several sources agree that oxygen uptake increases linearly with exercise, this is due to the skeletal muscles requirement for more oxygen for the production of more ATP. Hanson et al (1998) measured ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For the participant in this trial to sustain 60rpm, their muscles must produce progressively more force after each increment, as 0.5kg resistance is applied to the flywheel each time, therefore the energy demands of the muscle progressively increase. A deviation from the trend during the middle of the trial was not expected as most sources agree the relationship is linear (Burton, Özyener, Glassford), however Astrand (1961) found a non linear steeper increase in during the middle stages. Astrand s non linear pattern may be explained by production of power increasing to a point beyond the lactate threshold, the point at which lactic acid starts to accumulate in the blood. A slowly developing increase in during constant work rate exercise performed above the lactate threshold produces a curvilinear relationship and is known as the slow component of kinetics (Jones et al, 2011). The cause for the steep increase at the final stage of the trial is supported by the research of Bernard et al (1996), who measured the effects of increasing exercise intensities recording oxygen consumption and heart rate simultaneously. Findings revealed a significant correlation with the best predictions of from work rate observed at higher intensities. Bernard s findings support results in table 1 that ... Some watched them to obtain some kind illusion, for pure entertainment, and others for the sake of love. However, not every fairytale has a purpose of giving us an illusion, of entertaining us, or making us believe in love. Shrek is not a typical fairytale. Even though many people see Shrek along with other fairytales as any other movie created for entertainment, it is a satirical critique of the archetypes involved in a fairytale. It is universally understood that the means of such expression refer to a pair of lovers whose relationship is sabotaged by outside forces. It is seen as Shrek develops feelings for Fiona, and Fiona falls in love with Shrek. It is pretty odd because Shrek is a huge ogre and Fiona is just a tiny human princess, who was supposed to marry a prince. Even donkey mentions to Shrek that She s as nasty as you are. Another quality they have in common. It is not the star crossed lovers fairytale we are used to, but their feelings are so true and pure. What changes, is Fiona s transformation into an ogre which makes things easier for the couple. The director uses pathos to appeal to the audience emotions and make them develop a connection between the complicated but true love both of these characters have developed. A friendly beast or an animal companion, who helps guide the hero throughout the quest, is expected to be someone brave, smart, and helpful. Shrek s friendly beast is an ass. The denotation for this ass would be a donkey but in society, the connotation for calling a donkey an ass is seen as saying they are stupid and imbecile. That was mostly because before we started the game we both agreed that the winner would get 15 dollars. He also had a disadvantage in one key area , fortunately. That was his formation. His formation was a 4 3 3 attack which was three forwards three midfielders, a left back, a right back, two center backs, and one goalie. I had a 4 3 3 holding which meant that I had a defensive midfield instead of just three plain old midfielders. Overall, this meant that. Madrid had the ball and it was Modric, one of their midfielders who was dribbling. I made Sergio Busquets ( defensive midfield) do a slide tackle. The ball ricocheted on Modric s foot and went straight to Ousmane Dembele ( left forward ). Then came the mind blowing moves. He dribbled past the midfield and the forward. Then, he sombrero flicked Carvajal ( opposition s right back), nutmegged Sergio Ramos ( opposition s center back). Then he shot. The goalie jumped and punched the ball. The ball was over Dembele. What could he do. He decided to attempt a bicycle. The perfectly timed and monitored shot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 13. Correlation Between Wood And Aluminum Surfaces And Their... This experiment examined the relation between wood and aluminum surfaces and their friction. The coefficient of static and kinetic friction can be derived from the experiments with the use of a horizontal Atwood s machine and a Super Pulley. The static friction was tested by setting up an equilibrium with the hanging mass and the frictional force. Three tests were conducted with increasing additional mass on the friction block. An unbalanced force was required to test for the coefficient of kinetic friction. This is possible through solving for the acceleration of the unbalanced force. The total mass of the system is constant through all four of the tests, but different masses were added to the hanging mass so that the acceleration would have a variety of different accelerations to accurately solve for the kinetic friction. As a result, our coefficient of static and kinetic friction are μs = 0.26 ± 0.02 and μk = 0.30 ± 0.01 respectively. Introduction According to Collin College, the coefficient of static and kinetic friction are μs = 0.30 and μk = 0.20 respectively. However, the lab material has worn out over time, so their coefficient of frictions may be different from the regular coefficient of friction. The purpose of this experiment is to determine the coefficient of kinetic and static friction between aluminum and wood in the lab. These were determined with the use of a horizontal Atwood s machine The test conducted on a horizontal Atwood s machine was accomplished by ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

What Are The Questions In The Death Of Ivan Ilych Philosophical Interview There comes a time in every person s life, when they start to ask questions like: What is the purpose of life? and What would I regret if I died tomorrow? The opinions usually vary from people of different ages, gender, and social group. The novel The Death Of Ivan Ilych, by Leo Tolstoy, challenges you to ask yourself questions, not much different from the ones mentioned above, about the life you have lived, and the future outcome of it. This process may put perspective on your life, organize your priorities, and start the removal of unnecessary distractions. After interviewing people of different ages, my belief that only two answers were possible was diminished. I asked people what their opinion was on marriage, and if it was necessary to achieve a happy life. For some of the interviewees, I asked follow up questions, Would you personally feel that your life was incomplete if you never did get married? and If you fell in love would marriage be an open option? They have also acknowledged that corporate branding brings new challenges that cannot be readily addressed within a traditional marketing framework, including a need to ensure that employee behavior is consistently aligned with the company s brand promise, but previous research has tended to focus on issues related to recruitment. As a result, little is known about how employer branding can actually be used to support the corporate brand. More specifically, researchers have yet to explain what makes an organization s employer brand attractive to current employees (Maxwell Knox, 2009). More specifically, theorists argue that a corporate brand should be closely aligned with the identity of the organization. In the story A Tell Tale Heart the narrator believes that the actions he takes throughout the whole story are completely normal. The author uses repetition to really exemplify that the narrator was obsessed with the eye of the man. In the story A Tell Tale Heart the narrator is mad. In the very first paragraph one of the first clues that proves this is when he says I heard all things in the heaven and in the earth. I heard many things in hell. Women in Islam are; mothers, sisters, partners, workers, scholars and business owners and managers (al Hashimi 4). Within this research paper, we will review the role of a woman in Islam and their daily source of happiness. An Islamic woman, on the basis of a comparative life, is hardly different from say, an American woman. For example, when a married American woman has a family to support and works to provide income, this is to help her husband support their family together. Though in the Islamic world, the female Muslim works for her own accord. Due to Islamic law, a woman may work to acquire money, however her earnings are hers and hers only. If she chooses to help her husband support the family with her earnings, she may do so (which is common practice). Another common misconception when comparing an American woman to an Islamic woman would be their appearances. I believe that part of the answer to this question comes from the rhetoric of these vary same 19th Century romantic thinkers who were able to develop true connections to the landscape around them. Developing a connection to the landscape was a primary focus of one of the 19th century writers that Cronon critiques, Henry David Thoreau. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He concludes one of his final chapters of Walden by stating that, we need the tonic of wildness. Thoreau believes that there is a quality associated with wild landscapes that humans need in order to function as a species. Instead of writing about the overpowering experience that we can find in untouched landscapes, Thoreau rather focuses on bringing those experiences back to our home. In a journal, Thoreau writes that, It is in vain to dream of a wildness distant from ourselves. There is none such. It is in the bog in our brain and bowels, the primitive vigor of Nature in us, that inspires that dream. I shall never find in the wilds of Labrador any greater wildness than in some recess in Concord, i.e., than I import into it. (J, IX, 43). Thoreau learned about the overpowering and personal sensory experiences that you can feel in the wilderness and learned that you can bring that quality of nature back to home and still have the same experience. And I believe that this is the essential point that Thoreau brings to American culture with Walden.
