Essay on White Collar Crimes in America
Throughout history there have been many white collar crimes. These crimes are defined as non violent
and financial based crimes that are full ranges of fraud committed by business and government
professionals. These crimes are not victimless nor unnoticed. A single scandal can destroy a company
and can lose investors millions of dollars. Today, fraud schemes are more sophisticated than ever, and
through studying: Enron, LIBOR, Albert Wiggan and Chase National Bank, Lehman Brothers and
Madoff, we find how the culprits started there deception, the aftermath of the scandal and what our
country has done to prevent future scandals. In the 1920 s, Wall Street was a very different place than
it is today. There was a great lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
On Black Thursday of the Wall Street Crash of 1929 Wiggin teamed up with other Wall Street bankers
in an attempt to save the stock market. Wiggin and other bankers committed substantial funds for an
investment pool in order to buy large blocks of shares of major U.S. corporations at prices that were
above the current market. This stopped the slide that day and stabilized the market. However, in the
Pecora Commission investigation of the Wall Street crash it was discovered that starting in September
of that year Wiggin began selling short his personal shares of Chase. Using strictly family owned
corporations, Wiggin was able to hide the trades and create a position in which we would profit by
having his company fail. He was able to short over 40,000 shares and made over $4 million dollars tax
free because he used a Canadian company to buy the stocks. Additionally, Wiggin accepted a
$100,000 a year pension for life but later declined the pension because of public uproar. All Wiggin s
money was made legally at the time and he was not alone in doing this. Due to all the other
occurrences similar to this one, there was a revision made in 1934 of the 1933 Securities Act that
created stricter regulations on insider trading. This stated that all companies listed on stock exchanges
must follow the requirements set by the act. The primary requirements of the Securities Act

Physics Of The Scientific Method
1) What are the steps of the scientific method? (4 points)
Observation The light won t come on.
Question Why won t the light come on?
Hypothesis The light won t turn on because the light bulb has burned out.
Prediction If I replace the light bulb, then the light will work again.
Experiment Replace the light bulb with a new light bulb and turn on the light.
Predicted result the new light bulb will work and the light will come on.
2) Explain the difference between science and pseudoscience. (4 points)
Pseudoscience is a method, theory or system that has no scientific basis.
Conversely, science is composed of theories that can be tested and have scientific basis. Science can
be discovery based. Observations can be ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There is only anecdotal evidence of them through personal sightings.
3. Clairvoyance.
This is the belief that you can somehow communicate with the dead for example. Because this is
specific to a person that you cannot observe (their dead), you have no way of studying this interaction
through scientific means.
4) The parody religion called The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster uses a very interesting
correlation between pirates and natural disasters:
You may be interested to know that global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural
disasters are a direct result of the shrinking numbers of Pirates since the 1800s. As you can see, there
is a statistically significant inverse relationship between pirates and global temperature.
http://www.venganza.org/
Can the scientific method be used to test the claim that disasters are caused by the declining number of
pirates? Be specific as to why or why not, and if so, how would this be done? (6 points)
This claim cannot be tested by the scientific method. It is making a claim that is anecdotal.
To design a scientific experiment you need to be able to have an independent variable, dependent
variable and a controlled variable. With their assumption the global warming would be the dependent
variable that is being changed by the number of pirates decreasing. The independent variable would be
what you are changing. We can t control the number of pirates in the world

Introduction
I am currently working as an Associate Planner for the City of Bakersfield s Economic Development
Division located at 1715 Chester Avenue in Bakersfield, Ca. The Economic Development Division is
part of the Community Development Department which is made up of the Economic Development,
Planning, and Building Divisions. My department works, to assist in the creation of new affordable
housing and rehabilitate existing housing stock with community partners, partner with local
organizations to provide community services, and respond to Fair Housing concerns in the City of
Bakersfield ( Community Development , 2014). My job, in particular, is to manage the Community
Development Block Grants, and Emergency Solutions Grants issued by the U.S. Department of
Housing and Urban Development (HUD).
The Research Issue
All cities are faced with the complicated issue of addressing housing needs for their population. Even
more complex are the needs of the city s low income neighborhoods and residents. In addition,
according to the article, Social Inequities in Environmental Risks Associated with Housing and
Residential Location A Review of Evidence by Braubacth and Fairburn, there is a, strong link between
housing characteristics and health. To help address these issues and protect the health of our citizens,
the City of Bakersfield receives grant funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban

Effects of Downsizing on Employees
Effects of Downsizing on Employees
Statement of Problem
Downsizing is a major problem faced by employees during tough times of recession. Apart from the
economic reasons, they also have severe psychological effects on the employees. This project is about
comprehending the effects of cut backs on employees. Employees suffer from severe self esteem
issues, due to which it s very hard for them to jump back into the same mental stableness.
The structure of this study is to assess the effects of downsizing on employees. Employees tend to be
less effective after a downsizing procedure took place in their organization. Dedication towards their
jobs decline as a result of downsizing. Depression is one of the major issues that are targeted by ...

(ii) Management needs to know how employees respond to redesigned work environments,
technological changes, increased accountability, compulsory increased efficiency with fewer amounts
of help, and comparable phenomena that have been established to exemplify many work surroundings
that have had a downsizing occurrence. (iii) A closer examination of the specific items used to the
measure of the effect of downsizing reveals that stress related issues are most responsible for the
negative attitude toward downsizing. (iv) With companies downsizing it can affect you emotionally
and mentally. The companies demand more responsibilities from fewer people, which can cause a lot
of stress. The workloads increase to where one is working more hours and even weekends.
Downsizing basically takes you away from your family and friends. Even though it is good for the
company, it s the employees who pay for it. (v) This study was part an attempt to analyze some of the
variables that could affect the motivational level of survivors of downsizing variables. Furthermore the
study proved that there was a big communication gap between the employees and the management,
also that the management failed to answer the emotional needs of the survivors of downsizing which
eventually resulted in a lot of mental trauma. However research has recognized that downsizing may
have unplanned negative penalties for individuals and organizations (Cameron

Cross Cultural Conflict in Organisations
Executive Summary
The purpose of this presentation is to identify the problems faced by Western managers telling eastern
managers that improvement in their business is needed. The case which the presentation is based on is
about cross cultural management and organisational strategy and improvement.
A delegate of an Australian consulting firm is given the task of heading up a pilot study in the
organisations Taiwanese and Indian offices with the aim of identifying the reasons for their slow
market growth and offering recommendations as to how to improve their performance.
The presentation on the case focuses on questions one and two of the designated case study questions.
The first question asks the writer to identify where the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Attempts are relationship building lacked on the part of both parties however more should have been
done by the consultant to actively engage the host country in order to gain their trust, respect and
support.
Clashes of Eastern v Western views of strategy were experienced. These views are all but opposite in
many areas. These differences included the likes of the way they made decisions, executed plans and
analysed their results. The best example as evidenced by the case study would be that fact that the
marketing manager, when asked by the consultant, failed to produce a formal marketing plan. The
consultant took this a sign of incompetence instead of seeking to better understand the reasoning
behind the difference.
Finally, from the presentation of the case study it is recommended that when entering a foreign
country one should make sure that whoever is sent to act as an expatriate in the host country has a
high level of cross cultural literacy. The person who is given the task should be adequately trained and
qualified who has ideally been to the host country destination beforehand. In this case this was
arguably not the case and the consultant who was the expatriate consequently had trouble both
understanding the culture and dealing effectively with the managing partners reactions and actions.
From this presentation it is recommended that anyone

The Financial Crisis Life Was Simple For Central Bankers
EFORE the financial crisis life was simple for central bankers. They had a clear mission: temper
booms and busts to maintain low and stable inflation. And they had a seemingly effective means to
achieve that: nudge a key short term interest rate up to discourage borrowing (and thus check
inflation), or down to foster looser credit (and thus spur growth and employment). Deft use of this
technique had kept the world humming along so smoothly in the decades before the crash that
economists had declared a Great Moderation in the economic cycle. As it turned out, however, the
moderation was transitory and the crash that ended it undermined not only the central bankers record
but also the method they relied on to prop up growth. Monetary ... Show more content on

Central banks were not entirely unprepared for this challenge. In the 1990s the Japanese economy had
slumped following an asset price crash. Facing weak growth and deflation the Bank of Japan had
slashed rates to near zero before embarking on a series of experiments with unconventional monetary
tools. Although the Bank of Japan s performance was widely considered disappointing, if not an
outright failure, the rich world s central banks began by drawing upon its playbook. image:

edition/20130921_SBC415.png Unconventional policy falls into two broad categories: asset purchases
and forward guidance . Asset purchases are a natural extension of central banks more typical activities.
America s Federal Reserve, for instance, has long bought Treasury bills and other bonds with short
maturities to increase the money supply and reduce short term interest rates. After its benchmark rate
fell close to zero the Fed began buying longer term securities, including ten year Treasury bonds and
mortgage backed securities, to bring down long run borrowing costs (see chart 1). Printing money to
buy assets is known as quantitative easing (QE) because central banks often announce purchase plans
in terms of a desired increase in the quantity of bank reserves. The Bank of Japan first attempted QE
in 2001 when it promised to buy {Yen}400

Summary Of The Revenge Of Autobiographical Rap By Kendrick...
An autobiography is a history of a person s life written or told by that person. When most of us think
of an autobiography we think about the stories of political figures or well known celebrities. We are
interested in the events that shaped their lives and can even be inspired by the way they handled
themselves or how they achieved their goals. There are many examples of this through music and the
hip hop genre is no exception. The article, The Revenge of Autobiographical Rap , points out that
there are many albums that do just that. Jason Parham sites such albums as Kendrick Lamar s good
kid, m.A.A.d. city, Biggie s Ready to Die and Nas s Illmatic. According to Parham, these albums are
proof that staying true to who you are and where ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
When I listen to this music I feel as though the artist is speaking to me personally and telling me their
story. When you listening to them you hear their tone (positive or negative) and it impacts how the
story is interpreted. I do not feel the same way if I were reading a story. After listening to the albums
we discussed earlier I can appreciate the inspirational message each one conveys. My personal
favorite of the three artists is Kendrick Lamar. I find him to be a more relatable artist and I enjoy his
music. In good kid, m.A.A.d. city, he talks about how his parents were always telling him what to do
and who to hang out with. In the end, even after making mistakes, his parents were always there for
him and they were proud of the man he has become. My parents are similar to his. They have opinions
about everything I do. And, up to now I have not done everything the way they would have liked. I
have made my own mistakes. But, my parents have taught me to be a good person and I know that
they will always be there for me. Kendrick Lamar s album depicting his life experiences is inspiring to
me. I can work hard to make something of myself and I will have people around me that will support
me while I am doing just that. If artists like Kendrick Lamar can inspire me, I believe they can inspire
others that may be going down a worse path in life than I am. As a generation we must

How Nintendo Saved Nintendo
Nintendo is a household name all over America and has been since the Nintendo Entertainment
System was released back in 1983. Nintendo single handedly saved the video game market and have
created fond childhood memories for many people, including young adults and teenagers. Recently
however, the video game juggernaut has been forgotten for other gaming companies since the
commercial and financial flop that was the Wii U in 2012.
The Switch has saved Nintendo by being new and creative. In late 2016, the Nintendo Switch was
officially announced. Before, it was under the codename, NX, and had no information concerning the
console. A few days after it was announced, a presentation for the system and its games went live that
explained almost everything you would want to know about the system. It was clear that the target
demographic was mostly teens and young adults and less at the young children and families, unlike
the previous Wii and Wii U systems. This meant that Nintendo was working more on making the
system more powerful and is trying to bring some third parties to make or port games to the system.
Since the console is a Hybrid System, it can be played as a home video gaming system, and a portable
gaming system. This is a revolutionary concept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The Wii was a huge success because it was different and family friendly and the Wii U was a fail
because it wasn t new or innovative. Nintendo has had the Wii branding for almost 11 years and
because of that, they were not selling as many systems as they d hoped. Then, they made a change.
The dull gray and white color scheme of the Wii was replaced by a sharp red and white color scheme,
along with a crisp new logo. This change has appealed to teens and adults, making the popularity of
the Nintendo Switch skyrocket! This is a new Nintendo for loyal fans and it will positively affect the
newer generations of Nintendo

is identifiable from his patchwork costume and triangular hat and appears to be kneeling on the

Guernica is of course death; reinforcing this, in the centre of the painting is a hidden skull which
dominates the viewer s subliminal impressions. The skull is shown sideways and has been ingeniously
overlaid onto the body of the horse, which is also a death symbol. The skull s mechanical appearance
seems appropriate to the modern weaponry used in the 1937 bombing. Picasso often hid one or more
related symbols within a particular image as seen here. Below the dying horse in the centre of the
painting is a concealed bull s head contained in the outline of the horse s buckled front leg. Its location

Anwar Sadat and the October War
Various people have made significant contribution in defining the world order. Such contributions
sometimes take extremist viewpoints that almost draw parallel lines between varying ideological
standpoints that have informed world politics for many years. One such person is Anwar Sadat, the
former president of Egypt. President Sadat took over after the demise of President Gamel Abdel
Nasser in the year 1970, and led Egypt for eleven years. He attempted to reclaim the Sinai Peninsula
which had been taken and claimed by Israel. Sadat s plan to take back Sinai from Israel helped Egypt
to redefine its power and prestige in the world and to initiate negotiations for a peace treaty with
Israel.
In the plan to take back the Sinai from Israel and also to reinstitute and reestablish unity amongst the
Arab nations, Sadat employed diplomatic persuasion at its best. Several months prior to the 1976 war,
president Sadat spent most of his time creating ties with the Organization of African Unity (OAU),
and other summit talks. This plan proved successful as numerous African states, as well as the OAU,
supported Egypt and isolated Israel while the other summit conferences backed Sadat s plan to attack
Israel. With regards to other Arab States, Sadat did not have to employ much effort or persuasion as
most leaders of the nations were close to him. At this point, Sadat had managed to reinstate the
confidence of the Egyptian people, get rid of the Soviet Union, and yet again isolate Israel.

United States President
The President is not only the head of state and government in the United States; he is also the
Commander in Chief of the armed forces. The President, according to the constitution, is supposed to
be responsible for carrying out and enforcing the laws created by Congress. The executive branch is
made up of many departments. There are fifteen executive departments that are led by a chosen
member. These departments are joined with other agencies like the CIA and EPA to fulfill daily
requirements. The President also appoints more than 50 independent federal commissions, like the
FRB (Federal Reserve Board) or the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as judges,
ambassadors, and other federal offices. The Executive Office of the President consists of the staff
directly linked to the President, along with the Office of Management and Budget and the Office of
the United States Trade Representative. The Executive Branch employs more than 4 million

The Man I Killed, By Tim O’Brien
Usually when someone is murdered, people expect the murderer to feel culpable. This though, is not
the case in war. When in war, a soldier is taught that the enemy deserves to die, for no other reason
than that they are the nation s enemy. When Tim O Brien kills a man during the Vietnam War, he is
shocked that the man is not the buff, wicked, and terrifying enemy he was expecting. This realization
overwhelms him in guilt. O Brien s guilt has him so fixated on the life of his victim that his own
presence in the story as protagonist and narrator fades to the black. Since he doesn t use the first
person to explain his guilt and confusion, he negotiates his feelings by operating in fantasy by
imagining an entire life for his victim, from his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But with the same fantasy, he also tortures himself, by imagining exactly why the man s death might
be such a horrible tragedy. O Brien feeds his guilt by imagining that the man he killed was in the
prime of his life. By imagining that the man he killed wrote romantic poems in his journal and had
fallen in love with a classmate whom he married before he enlisted as a common rifleman, O Brien
can more easily identify with his victim and understand the terrible nature of the killing. When
describing the life of the man he killed O Brien starts every sentence with the word He as if to make it
clear that even though the man and O Brien were similar, it was still the man s life that was ended not
O Brien s. Also by continuously using He O Brien tries to separate himself from the man to make him
the enemy but in the end he fails. O Brien can t justify what he did because the realization that the
man was just a regular man shatters his idea of the Vietnamese deserving the violence. The futile
comments and half hearted attempts of comfort made by the other soldiers along with the conspicuous
silence demonstrate that nothing can erase the harsh reality of what has occurred. Azar s pitiless offers

language services along with occupational therapy. When Lanza arrived in second grade he was
removed from occupational therapy and in fourth grade was removed from all special education. This
lead Mrs. Lanza, his mother, to write the school a letter voicing her concern. ... Show more content on

Lanza wrote to friends she clearly addressed that her husband wasn t spending enough time with their
father. The only time Mr. Lanza wanted to be a father to Adam and Ryan Lanza was when it was fun
and the actual parenting wasn t needed. Mr. Lanza gradually became an aloof father, with him being a
fairweather father, Adam wasn t allowed the type of nurturing a boy needs from a father. Mr. Lanza
never imagined the kind of nurturing his son Adam would need as he was developing and growing.
The influential lack of nurturing was present consistently in the early years of Adam Lanza s life.
Even though most of it occurred when he was a child, the lack of nurturement in Adam s life was
there, slightly or considerably, while he was developing and growing. Nurturement wasn t only
lacking from his father and his school, his mother also couldn t imagine how much nurturing it would
take to nurture Adam. As an adolescent, Adam had mental problems which were diagnosed by doctors,
but these problems were never nurtured. HIs mother was a key component to never having his
problems nurtured. At 13 years old Adam was taken to the Emergency Room by his mother for a crisis
evaluation . The only reason to bring Adam to the Emergency Room was to get a medical note saying
he could stay out of school.

Who Is Dimmesdale In The Scarlet Letter
In The Scarlet Letter by Nathaniel Hawthorne, the character Dimmesdale hides his relationship with
the main character, Hester, from the people of their town in order to maintain his status as minister,
and similarly, to uphold his ethos with the public. By doing so, Dimmesdale s character evolves from
the holy to the unraveled. As minister, Dimmesdale is the man that the citizens confide in. Before his
secret, he had no burdens of his own, and therefore, could handle taking on the burdens of others.
However, keeping his relationship with Hester a secret ate at Dimmesdale s mind more and more as
the story progresses. His main motivation is to protect himself; However, it is evident that
Dimmesdale achieves a mental break after he and Hester speak to each other in the forest.
Dimmesdale begins to think that he does not know what kind of man he is anymore, which makes him
question if other people have noticed any change. Dimmesdale scolds himself for thinking violent ...

Once Dimmesdale s two identities begin to clash, he decides to run away from the town and people
that makes him question himself, instead of facing the problem head on. Leaving the town can be seen
as Dimmesdale choosing to be the man that loved Hester instead of the man that the people wanted
him to be, but in reality, leaving without revealing his secret was the easiest way for Dimmesdale to
solve his confusion; he just ran away from it. In the back of his mind, Dimmesdale will believe he is
pure, and that he no longer has to admit to his sin. However, the readers know from Pearl s reaction to
her father that he is, in a sense, filthy for lying. When Pearl and Dimmesdale meet, Pearl blames
Dimmesdale for changing his mother, and when he kisses Pearl, she washes it off in a stream, and

CHAPTER 2: WAKING UP
Talia and Derek carried the unconscious girl through the preserve until they came out of the tree line
and
landed directly in front of their home. They quickly made their way up the porch where Robert Hale
was
holding the door open with a worried expression on his usually calm face.
Deaton is coming up the drive. What happened? He questioned as he followed Talia and Derek
through the foyer of the house and upstairs.
We found her, covered in blood, lying on top of the Nemeton. I couldn t sense anyone or anything else
besides her. Whatever or whoever attacked her is long gone. I thought she was dead until I got close
enough. I told Derek to call Deaton and we brought her here. Talia responded as she led the way to the
guest room that sat just across the hall from Derek s room.
Talia? Robert? Derek? A voice echoed.
Deaton, upstairs guest room. Talia shouted over her shoulder.
Deaton arrived upstairs and within the doorway just as Talia and Derek settled the girl on the bed.
Talia,
Robert, and Derek quickly stepped back to allow Deaton the chance to examine the girl but stayed

Essay on Sigmund Freud on Human Nature
Sigmund Freud, a noteworthy trailblazer of modern day philosophy, developed a deterministic view
on human nature based on instinct and personality. Unlike other theories, Freud considers us not as
humans, but animals with inborn biological drives: a complex species with primitive urges. These
urges, he says, are only kept under control by the pressures between peers and the repression of
society. Though the word instinct can relate to a wide range of impulses, Freud narrowed it down to
four main drives: Self preservation, aggression, the need for love, and the impulse to attain pleasure
and avoid pain. These topics along with the model of the psyche embedded within the principles of
pleasure and civilization form the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Passions, on the other hand, are a bit more complicated. In simple terms, men are so entirely governed
by instinctual wishes that they often overlook their sense of reason. This claim is exemplified in the
phrase love is blind. When two lovers are so encompassed by their relationship it is not uncommon for
one of the two to make a few questionable decisions. Arguments of reason then relate to the idea of
intellect. The voice of intellect is soft, but persistent which in turn provides optimism for the future of
mankind. This optimism, however, dwindles in the fact that men have gained control and power over
nature, granting them the ability to exterminate one another if they chose to. The awareness of this
power results in unrest, unhappiness, and anxiety. Subsequently, this leads to Freud s idea of Defense
mechanisms and the Ego which will be discussed further along in this essay. In general, Freud claims
that civilization has its own influence on human nature, providing guidelines to follow and morals
standards to maintain.
In addition to civilization, Freud expands his view of human nature according to pleasure. According
to the Beyond the Pleasure Principle, hunger and love regulate the world. Though the original thought
was taken from Schiller, Freud applies it to the core instincts he believes to sum up human nature.
Hunger represents the instincts which aim at preservation of the self while love strives after objects
and preservation of the

Smartphone Security Issues Essay
Security Issues in Smartphone Markets Are you buzzing about the new Verizon Blackberry Storm or
the T Mobile G1? They are the new crave and everyone wants one right? What these owners many not
know are the security risks that surround the raving technology. Most of the unawareness starts at
companies and customers not placing more significance on security as smartphones get smarter.
Although a smartphone may not be at greater risk than a PC, some security issues and risks are still
present with PDA s and smartphones. In the United Kingdom, a whooping 800,000 people were the
victim of mobile phone theft in 2006. Even though 90 percent of these phones deactivated within 48
hours, what happened to the other 10% of users that lost data ... Show more content on

With growth in mobile networks full encryption should be implemented on both phone and web
network sectors. VPN s could mitigate the issues surrounding application data integrity. VPN s use
SSL (Secure Socket Layers). A SSL provide security and data integrity for communications over
TCP/IP networks and are used in wide spread use in applications like web browsing, electronic mail,
instant messaging and voice over IP (VoIP). With this connection a user can ensure that pictures, text
messages, emails, and application data going out or coming in is kept private. Do users think spying
on your smartphone is impossible or hard? Of course, spying through social engineering risk, but what
about if users have no idea that they are being watched? When connected to a PC, smartphones no

the wrong hacker, he or she could install malware that can store all of user events and upload them
onto an Excel sheet. Scary? The same is true with SMS text messaging. A hacker sends an SMS
message to the user. When the message is opened it installs the spyware onto the smartphone. Now the
hacker can read and access all of the user messages. So far, there is not an anti malware that could

High Performance Aromatic Polyimides ( Pis )
POLYIMIDE
High performance aromatic polyimides (PIs) possess various outstanding properties, such as high
thermal, mechanical, and chemical resistance and a low dielectric constant. Therefore, increasing
attention has been paid to the application of PIs to microelectronics, optoelectronics, and the
aerospace industry [3]. It is possible to apply graphene on conducting electrodes and films, sensors,
electromagnetic shielding materials and so on .In particular, polymer graphene composite materials
are the interesting candidates for heat dissipation application due to its excellent thermal conductivity.
Polyimides have a few limitations, such as low electrical conductivity, electrostatic accumulation, and
poor heat dissipation [4]. These ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Excellent properties such as extraordinary electronic transport capabilities, mechanical performance,
high surface area, and distinctive mechanical properties with fracture strains of ~25% and a Young s
modulus of ~1 TPa have opened new pathways for the development of a wide range of new functional
materials. However, poor dispersion in organic solvents limits the widespread use of graphene [3].
In relation to wearable technology Polyimide/Graphene when processed as fibers as threads or yarns
might possess exceptional qualities both in terms of mechanical and electrical properties. Later in the
literature we have discussed Polyimide fiber processing methods. Polyimide/Graphene film samples
with 10% 50% graphene have shown sufficient surface conductivity for bio potential sensing
applications. Conducting polyimide fibers can be used in dry sensing applications as a possible
replacement to conventional Ag/AgCl electrodes that require ionic gels or solutions for sensing.
In this study, we use an effective method for preparing PAA/Graphene composite materials via in situ
polymerization with graphene content of up to 50% for high performance nanocomposites. We study a
method of effectively electrodepositing PAA/Graphene films on various metallic substrates and then
curing them stepwise until complete immidization has taken place. Characterization

The Test That Will Be Uses
Selection of test
The test that will be uses is a one way ANOVA test. A one way ANOVA test involved the analysis of
the difference between means of three or more groups and the variance within the groups (Salkind,
2013). The research scenario is looking at the difference between three groups which are individuals
who cannot to identify hypertension lifestyle factors, can identify some hypertension lifestyle factors
and can identify all hypertension lifestyle factors and their willingness to engage in self care in
addition to the variance within the groups. In addition, in a one way ANOVA there is one factor or
independent variable and within the research scenario there is one factor which is identifying
hypertension lifestyle factors (Salkind, 2013).
Step 2: Level of significance
The research scenario does not pose a high risk to the participants involved, therefore the level of
significance will bet set to 0.05. A level of significance at 0.05 means that the researcher has accepted
5 cases out of 100 for committing a type I error of rejecting the null when it is true and accepting the
research hypothesis (Salkind, 2013). The remaining 95 cases out of 100 a true null hypothesis is
accepted (Salkind, 2013).
Step 3: Selection of one tailed or two tailed test
An ANOVA test strictly looks at the overall difference between the means of groups and the variance
within groups, ANOVA test does not tell you where the difference lies, therefore there is no direction

Two Different Philosophical Views in Grendel and Beowulf...
Beowulf and Grendel are two tales similar in many ways, yet different from each other. These stories
are like a coin; you cannot have one side without the other. Just as the sides of a coin share the same
coin, these stories share a similar plot, a setting, and tell of the same events. The sides of a coin also
have differences as do Beowulf and Grendel. In the case of these two tales this difference is in their
respective philosophical views. Beowulf portrays the philosophical views of life that many people still
regard today. Those views helped to shape and define the ideal Dane in their culture. For example, the
traits looked for among the Danes were honesty, bravery, and humility. These three requirements in
the Danes were but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In contrast to the Danes of Beowulf , Grendel searched for his very reason of existence by asking the
questions Why? and How? for answers. Grendel started off in the book struggling with finding
meaning in his life while watching the people clearly doing things that gave their lives meaning. He
became upset as he saw that he couldn t deter their spirits no matter what he did and started to feel
jealous of their self found purpose. He realized that through various ways the people attained meaning.
In response to his confusion over their self discovered purpose, Grendel started listening to the Shaper
s words when he spoke to the people shaping their very beliefs which confused Grendel even more on
the meaning of life. After listening to the Shaper for a while, readers can see Grendel in a state of
contradiction. He started off killing people as a simple, bestial monstrosity but in the end he is shown
as quite intelligent and capable of choosing whether to kill or not. Soon, Grendel started seeking
answers to his questions from a dragon. The dragon s very philosophy on life was that there is no
meaning of life which started to influence Grendel. Upon Grendel s persistent questions of Why? , the
dragon told him You improve them, my boy! Can t you see that yourself? You stimulate them! You
make them think and scheme...You are, so to speak, the brute existent by which they learn to define

Foreign Jennifer Bailey (March 11, 2008) stated that the provider will supply you with software for
tracking each employee s pay rate, deductions, and vocation time. Once you enter the information for
the pay period, the software dials into the provider s server and transmits the information. Many
companies used a dedicated computer that is not connected to the company network; the direct
connection to the provider is not susceptible to the hackers, internet bugs, or internal snoops. Some
providers also offer web based employee payroll data entry. You enter employee information on a
secure web page, which feeds directly to the provider. This method is gaining acceptance but is still
less popular than modem based communication. Patricia Fusco (November 19, 2004) stated that the
term payroll encompasses every employee of a company who receives a regular wages or other
compensation. Some employees maybe paid a steady salary while others are paid for hours worked or
the number of items produced. A payroll specialist calculates all of these

Dungeon And Dragons, Rock N Roll, And Video Games
Dungeon and Dragons, Rock N Roll, and video games, these are three separate activities that when
looked at from afar do not seem to have anything to do with each other. However, they in fact do have
something fairly big in common. They each have been blamed with being either bad for you or a
negative influence. Whether it be Dungeon and Dragons being satanic and making people lose touch
with reality, Rock N Roll s cause of juvenile delinquency, or video games leading to violent and
antisocial behavior. Now we know that at least two of those were far fetched, those being Rock N Roll
and Dungeons and Dragons, but what about the third one video games. Do playing video games really
end up making you a more violent person? Antisocial? Are you suddenly going to commit a mass
shooting or some other violent crime just because you spent a few hours a day playing a video game?
Perhaps it is the opposite are you going to become more social? Do you develop thinking skills, and
better social skills even when interacting with people you have not met in person? Could it be both, or
at least partially both? Well to put it simply it is partially both, now video games will not suddenly
make you turn into a criminal, however, there is a possibility of negative behavioral effects. As one
may know video games are a popular pastime in our current generation, and alongside that popularity
comes controversy, due to the possible negative behavioral and health side effects. However, video

  • 2. Essay on White Collar Crimes in America Throughout history there have been many white collar crimes. These crimes are defined as non violent and financial based crimes that are full ranges of fraud committed by business and government professionals. These crimes are not victimless nor unnoticed. A single scandal can destroy a company and can lose investors millions of dollars. Today, fraud schemes are more sophisticated than ever, and through studying: Enron, LIBOR, Albert Wiggan and Chase National Bank, Lehman Brothers and Madoff, we find how the culprits started there deception, the aftermath of the scandal and what our country has done to prevent future scandals. In the 1920 s, Wall Street was a very different place than it is today. There was a great lack ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... On Black Thursday of the Wall Street Crash of 1929 Wiggin teamed up with other Wall Street bankers in an attempt to save the stock market. Wiggin and other bankers committed substantial funds for an investment pool in order to buy large blocks of shares of major U.S. corporations at prices that were above the current market. This stopped the slide that day and stabilized the market. However, in the Pecora Commission investigation of the Wall Street crash it was discovered that starting in September of that year Wiggin began selling short his personal shares of Chase. Using strictly family owned corporations, Wiggin was able to hide the trades and create a position in which we would profit by having his company fail. He was able to short over 40,000 shares and made over $4 million dollars tax free because he used a Canadian company to buy the stocks. Additionally, Wiggin accepted a $100,000 a year pension for life but later declined the pension because of public uproar. All Wiggin s money was made legally at the time and he was not alone in doing this. Due to all the other occurrences similar to this one, there was a revision made in 1934 of the 1933 Securities Act that created stricter regulations on insider trading. This stated that all companies listed on stock exchanges must follow the requirements set by the act. The primary requirements of the Securities Act ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This is the belief that you can somehow communicate with the dead for example. Because this is specific to a person that you cannot observe (their dead), you have no way of studying this interaction through scientific means. 4) The parody religion called The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster uses a very interesting correlation between pirates and natural disasters: You may be interested to know that global warming, earthquakes, hurricanes, and other natural disasters are a direct result of the shrinking numbers of Pirates since the 1800s. As you can see, there is a statistically significant inverse relationship between pirates and global temperature. http://www.venganza.org/ Can the scientific method be used to test the claim that disasters are caused by the declining number of pirates? Be specific as to why or why not, and if so, how would this be done? (6 points) This claim cannot be tested by the scientific method. It is making a claim that is anecdotal. To design a scientific experiment you need to be able to have an independent variable, dependent variable and a controlled variable. With their assumption the global warming would be the dependent variable that is being changed by the number of pirates decreasing. The independent variable would be what you are changing. These differences included the likes of the way they made decisions, executed plans and analysed their results. The best example as evidenced by the case study would be that fact that the marketing manager, when asked by the consultant, failed to produce a formal marketing plan. The consultant took this a sign of incompetence instead of seeking to better understand the reasoning behind the difference. Finally, from the presentation of the case study it is recommended that when entering a foreign country one should make sure that whoever is sent to act as an expatriate in the host country has a high level of cross cultural literacy. The person who is given the task should be adequately trained and qualified who has ideally been to the host country destination beforehand. In this case this was arguably not the case and the consultant who was the expatriate consequently had trouble both understanding the culture and dealing effectively with the managing partners reactions and actions. • 8. The Financial Crisis Life Was Simple For Central Bankers EFORE the financial crisis life was simple for central bankers. They had a clear mission: temper booms and busts to maintain low and stable inflation. And they had a seemingly effective means to achieve that: nudge a key short term interest rate up to discourage borrowing (and thus check inflation), or down to foster looser credit (and thus spur growth and employment). Deft use of this technique had kept the world humming along so smoothly in the decades before the crash that economists had declared a Great Moderation in the economic cycle. As it turned out, however, the moderation was transitory and the crash that ended it undermined not only the central bankers record but also the method they relied on to prop up growth. Monetary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Central banks were not entirely unprepared for this challenge. In the 1990s the Japanese economy had slumped following an asset price crash. Facing weak growth and deflation the Bank of Japan had slashed rates to near zero before embarking on a series of experiments with unconventional monetary tools. Although the Bank of Japan s performance was widely considered disappointing, if not an outright failure, the rich world s central banks began by drawing upon its playbook. image: http://cdn.static economist.com/sites/default/files/imagecache/290 width/images/print edition/20130921_SBC415.png Unconventional policy falls into two broad categories: asset purchases and forward guidance . Asset purchases are a natural extension of central banks more typical activities. America s Federal Reserve, for instance, has long bought Treasury bills and other bonds with short maturities to increase the money supply and reduce short term interest rates. After its benchmark rate fell close to zero the Fed began buying longer term securities, including ten year Treasury bonds and mortgage backed securities, to bring down long run borrowing costs (see chart 1). Printing money to buy assets is known as quantitative easing (QE) because central banks often announce purchase plans in terms of a desired increase in the quantity of bank reserves. • 9. Summary Of The Revenge Of Autobiographical Rap By Kendrick... An autobiography is a history of a person s life written or told by that person. When most of us think of an autobiography we think about the stories of political figures or well known celebrities. We are interested in the events that shaped their lives and can even be inspired by the way they handled themselves or how they achieved their goals. There are many examples of this through music and the hip hop genre is no exception. The article, The Revenge of Autobiographical Rap , points out that there are many albums that do just that. When I listen to this music I feel as though the artist is speaking to me personally and telling me their story. When you listening to them you hear their tone (positive or negative) and it impacts how the story is interpreted. I do not feel the same way if I were reading a story. After listening to the albums we discussed earlier I can appreciate the inspirational message each one conveys. My personal favorite of the three artists is Kendrick Lamar. I find him to be a more relatable artist and I enjoy his music. In good kid, m.A.A.d. city, he talks about how his parents were always telling him what to do and who to hang out with. In the end, even after making mistakes, his parents were always there for him and they were proud of the man he has become. My parents are similar to his. They have opinions about everything I do. And, up to now I have not done everything the way they would have liked. I have made my own mistakes. But, my parents have taught me to be a good person and I know that they will always be there for me. Kendrick Lamar s album depicting his life experiences is inspiring to me. I can work hard to make something of myself and I will have people around me that will support me while I am doing just that. If artists like Kendrick Lamar can inspire me, I believe they can inspire others that may be going down a worse path in life than I am. As a generation we must ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 10. How Nintendo Saved Nintendo Nintendo is a household name all over America and has been since the Nintendo Entertainment System was released back in 1983. Nintendo single handedly saved the video game market and have created fond childhood memories for many people, including young adults and teenagers. Recently however, the video game juggernaut has been forgotten for other gaming companies since the commercial and financial flop that was the Wii U in 2012. The Switch has saved Nintendo by being new and creative. In late 2016, the Nintendo Switch was officially announced. Before, it was under the codename, NX, and had no information concerning the console. A few days after it was announced, a presentation for the system and its games went live that explained almost everything you would want to know about the system. It was clear that the target demographic was mostly teens and young adults and less at the young children and families, unlike the previous Wii and Wii U systems. This meant that Nintendo was working more on making the system more powerful and is trying to bring some third parties to make or port games to the system. Since the console is a Hybrid System, it can be played as a home video gaming system, and a portable gaming system. This is a revolutionary concept ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The dull gray and white color scheme of the Wii was replaced by a sharp red and white color scheme, along with a crisp new logo. The skull is shown sideways and has been ingeniously overlaid onto the body of the horse, which is also a death symbol. The skull s mechanical appearance seems appropriate to the modern weaponry used in the 1937 bombing. Picasso often hid one or more related symbols within a particular image as seen here. • 15. Anwar Sadat and the October War Various people have made significant contribution in defining the world order. Such contributions sometimes take extremist viewpoints that almost draw parallel lines between varying ideological standpoints that have informed world politics for many years. One such person is Anwar Sadat, the former president of Egypt. President Sadat took over after the demise of President Gamel Abdel Nasser in the year 1970, and led Egypt for eleven years. He attempted to reclaim the Sinai Peninsula which had been taken and claimed by Israel. Sadat s plan to take back Sinai from Israel helped Egypt to redefine its power and prestige in the world and to initiate negotiations for a peace treaty with Israel. In the plan to take back the Sinai from Israel and also to reinstitute and reestablish unity amongst the Arab nations, Sadat employed diplomatic persuasion at its best. Several months prior to the 1976 war, president Sadat spent most of his time creating ties with the Organization of African Unity (OAU), and other summit talks. This plan proved successful as numerous African states, as well as the OAU, supported Egypt and isolated Israel while the other summit conferences backed Sadat s plan to attack Israel. With regards to other Arab States, Sadat did not have to employ much effort or persuasion as most leaders of the nations were close to him. At this point, Sadat had managed to reinstate the confidence of the Egyptian people, get rid of the Soviet Union, and yet again isolate Israel. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The President, according to the constitution, is supposed to be responsible for carrying out and enforcing the laws created by Congress. The executive branch is made up of many departments. There are fifteen executive departments that are led by a chosen member. These departments are joined with other agencies like the CIA and EPA to fulfill daily requirements. The President also appoints more than 50 independent federal commissions, like the FRB (Federal Reserve Board) or the Securities and Exchange Commission, as well as judges, ambassadors, and other federal offices. • 17. The Man I Killed, By Tim O’Brien Usually when someone is murdered, people expect the murderer to feel culpable. This though, is not the case in war. When in war, a soldier is taught that the enemy deserves to die, for no other reason than that they are the nation s enemy. When Tim O Brien kills a man during the Vietnam War, he is shocked that the man is not the buff, wicked, and terrifying enemy he was expecting. This realization overwhelms him in guilt. O Brien s guilt has him so fixated on the life of his victim that his own presence in the story as protagonist and narrator fades to the black. Since he doesn t use the first person to explain his guilt and confusion, he negotiates his feelings by operating in fantasy by imagining an entire life for his victim, from his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... But with the same fantasy, he also tortures himself, by imagining exactly why the man s death might be such a horrible tragedy. O Brien feeds his guilt by imagining that the man he killed was in the prime of his life. By imagining that the man he killed wrote romantic poems in his journal and had fallen in love with a classmate whom he married before he enlisted as a common rifleman, O Brien can more easily identify with his victim and understand the terrible nature of the killing. When describing the life of the man he killed O Brien starts every sentence with the word He as if to make it clear that even though the man and O Brien were similar, it was still the man s life that was ended not O Brien s. Also by continuously using He O Brien tries to separate himself from the man to make him the enemy but in the end he fails. O Brien can t justify what he did because the realization that the man was just a regular man shatters his idea of the Vietnamese deserving the violence. • 25. Essay on Sigmund Freud on Human Nature Sigmund Freud, a noteworthy trailblazer of modern day philosophy, developed a deterministic view on human nature based on instinct and personality. Unlike other theories, Freud considers us not as humans, but animals with inborn biological drives: a complex species with primitive urges. These urges, he says, are only kept under control by the pressures between peers and the repression of society. Though the word instinct can relate to a wide range of impulses, Freud narrowed it down to four main drives: Self preservation, aggression, the need for love, and the impulse to attain pleasure and avoid pain. These topics along with the model of the psyche embedded within the principles of pleasure and civilization form the most ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Passions, on the other hand, are a bit more complicated. In simple terms, men are so entirely governed by instinctual wishes that they often overlook their sense of reason. This claim is exemplified in the phrase love is blind. When two lovers are so encompassed by their relationship it is not uncommon for one of the two to make a few questionable decisions. Arguments of reason then relate to the idea of intellect. The voice of intellect is soft, but persistent which in turn provides optimism for the future of mankind. This optimism, however, dwindles in the fact that men have gained control and power over nature, granting them the ability to exterminate one another if they chose to. The awareness of this power results in unrest, unhappiness, and anxiety. Subsequently, this leads to Freud s idea of Defense mechanisms and the Ego which will be discussed further along in this essay. In general, Freud claims that civilization has its own influence on human nature, providing guidelines to follow and morals standards to maintain. In addition to civilization, Freud expands his view of human nature according to pleasure. According to the Beyond the Pleasure Principle, hunger and love regulate the world. Though the original thought was taken from Schiller, Freud applies it to the core instincts he believes to sum up human nature. Hunger represents the instincts which aim at preservation of the self while love strives after objects and preservation of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
