Leadership Theories Of The Great Man Theory
Leaders are born not mad, I don t fully agree with this statement. I believe that a leader can be born
with leadership traits but will then have to develop these traits and other characteristics and decision
making techniques to become an effective leader. I will justify this by explaining the four main
categories of leadership theories
➢ Great Man Theory
➢ Trait Theory
➢ Behavioral Theory
➢ Contingency theory
Situational theory
Path goal theory
Participation theory model
There are many different leadership theories; these leadership theories can be places into four main
categories:
1. Great Man Theories this theory assumes that leadership can be inherited, that they are born not
taught. The Great Man theory reveals great leaders as heroic, mythic and certain to rise to leadership
when needed. A leader is born with the required core characteristics of a great leader including
confidence, intelligence and social skills. The term Great Man theory was used because at the time
leadership was thought to be a primarily male quality.
2. Trait Theories theories that consider personal qualities and characteristics that differentiate leaders
from non leaders (Robbins, Millett, Maree Boyle Tim Judge, Organisational Behaviour). Personal
traits that are common among successful leaders are:
Drive: having high energy, display initiative and are tenacious
Self confidence: trusting themselves and have confidence in their abilities
Creativity: are creative and original

Important Parts Of A Cell
Introduction
The body is made up of billions and billions of cells that make up tissues that make up organs, which
make up organ systems. Within those cells are organelles including but not limited to a nucleus,
organelles, and cytosol. Cells are one of the most basic units of our bodies. With that being said, it is
safe to say that cells are extremely important. There are many parts of a cell and many ways that a cell
works. One of the most important parts of a cell is the plasma membrane. The plasma membrane is the
outer surface of a cell, which is made up of things called phospholipids, which form a phospholipid
bilayer. This bilayer is made up of phospholipids (75%), cholesterol (20%), and glycoproteins (5%).
This bilayer is only possible due to the phospholipids being amphipathic (polar and non polar parts).
Phospholipids are composed of a hydrophilic (water loving) head and 2 hydrophobic (water fearing)
tails. The Plasma membrane separates the cell s internal environment from its external environment. It
also plays a key role in communication among cells and between cells and their external environment,
(Tortora 60).
Many different proteins are located all throughout the plasma membrane. Some float around freely
and others are stationary in specific locations. For example, integral proteins extend all the way
through the lipid bilayer and go further into the interior of the cell. This makes them transmembrane
proteins due to the fact that they go all the way

It can also be interpreted, however, as a debate about the purpose of the corporation or about whose
interests the corporation should ultimately serve.
Various academics have joined the debate, arguing that there is an increasing consensus that managers
should strive to maximize shareholder value, and that doing so maximizes social welfare. There is also
a claim that managers are increasingly setting shareholder value maximization as their main corporate
target. This paper questions the existence of a widespread consensus that companies maximize
shareholder value or should do so.
Theoretical reasons to doubt the existence of a strong consensus are often related to the externalities
that a focus on shareholder value maximization would create.
How corporations are run can affect, for example, the welfare of entire regions.
Tirole (2001, p. 3) summarizes this line of reasoning by writing, There is no denying that such
externalities may be substantial [...]. Why should institution design ignore the natural stakeholders,
and favor the investors, who are stakeholders by design, by giving them full control rights and by
aligning managerial compensation with their interests? The doubts about the consensus on shareholder
value maximization, however, transcend financial externalities. Take the case of managerial
compensation. Critics throughout the Western world have called for legal

Essay On Family Observation
For my observation on a speech event, I chose to observe my relatives coming to my home for a small
dinner/get together on Thanksgiving. I had around 13 families get together. As a custom of greeting
the guest, my brother and I had gone to open the door for them. To show respect toward the elders,
who were the grandparents, we had to put our hands together, bow, say Sat Sri Akal , and give them a
hug. What I found interesting was that we greeted are uncles and aunts, my brother and I had different
ways to greet them. For me I would do the same things I did towards the grandparents for my aunts,
but when I greeted my uncles I never really gave them a hug. As for my brother he had given hugs to
both my aunt and uncle. I also noticed that my uncles would say Sat Sri Akal and walk away, but for
my brother almost all of them had a full on conversation at the door and gave him hugs. While I
mostly made conversations with my aunts. For my cousins, the way we greeted them was completely
different from the way we greeted the elders. When we went the greet them there was no formality.
Neither my brother or I said, Sat Sri Akal , bowed, or even put out our hands together; even if they
were older than us. Instead, I would say hi, while my brother would say sup to his male cousins and hi
or hello to his female cousins. As long as they were consider cousins or not elders we did not have to
greet them with formality. I was surprised on how differently my brother and I had

The Theme Of Anthem, By Ayn Rand
Anthem, by Ayn Rand, is a book that deals with topics of power, love, and individualism, and societal
and personal differences . The theme of anthem, that individuality must be protected, is widespread
and prominent, referenced throughout the book, from the viewpoint of the main character.
This will go over the character, the time, and the setting in the book, helping to show and understand
the theme because the author can convey plot points and themed information better through the
components of the book themselves, rather than outright stating it in the book.
The character helps understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our
society, because it shows what the emotional and physical links to the society in the book, as well as
the mental states and feelings influencing the text.
The main character is named Equality 7 252 . He described himself as 6 , and he had always been
more interested in the scientific attributes of nature, rather than the job at hand. He held little regard
for the rules of the society, as shown by his disregard to law. The laws say that none among men may
be alone, ever and at any time, for this is the great transgression and the root of all evil. But we have
broken many laws, (Rand )
This character helped understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our
society, since the character is , while struggling to maintain his own individuality. ...and we would
work for our brothers, gladly and willingly, ...What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to
obey?... (Rand). This quote helps support the theme in the novel by showing Equality s individuality
in different parts of the book. At the beginning, he denied his individuality and tried to blend in with
the conformist society, while at the end, he accepts and treasures his individuality. This relates to the
theme by showing that his individuality is treasured and valued by him.
The character and the setting work together to help find the theme in multiple ways. The characters
lives and works in the setting, while the setting and society helps influence the main character. The
setting shows where the character lives in the world, and how the culture in

High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ( Hifu ) Therapy System,...
ABSTRACT In High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) therapy system, electrical impedance
matching networks should be used between the ultrasound transducer and signal generator in order to
maximize the electrical power transmission. Impedance matching networks are designed based on LC
resonant networks and that can be analyzed by analytical design theory and smith chart design
technique. Graphical method using smith chart is adapted to understand the concept. The reflective
power should be reduced after successfully matching the electrical circuit. However, the problem with
our case, HIFU transducer has been observed with significant amount of reflective during LC
matching network; that reflective power has to be reduced as much as possible. In order to eliminate
reflective power we tried transformer matching instead of LC network and we are getting desired
output. Even after that, we are getting slightly change over working resonance frequency which is not
optimum for highly focused ultrasound transducer application or any other application. However, if
we propose broadband matching network for transducer matching then we can increase the range of
working frequency and we can compensate that problem. To conclude, transmission power can be
increased by implementing broadband electrical matching networks. In this paper, I discuss the
characteristics and different applications of piezoelectric material and how matching is an important to
observe the behavior of

Three Different Types Of Conflicts In Short Stories
Types of Conflicts in Short Stories
Short story writing literature is a very important art and has been around for long time. Every short
story will consist of five different elements. These are as follows: Setting, Plot, Character, Point of
View and Theme. In this essay, we are going to discuss three of these stories and try to look at them
from different perspectives. We will be considering the elements of the stories and how the writers
expressed that. We are going to discuss the different phases and changes that each character in these
three different stories from the beginning until the end with some highlight on the events and conflicts
that lead to these changes. We will start with A Letter from Gaza by Ghassan Kanafani, then After
Twenty Years by O. Henry and last will be The Scarlet Ibis by J. Hurst. I will give a summarizing
overall conclusion at the end of this essay.
Conflict is a major component within the plot element of a story and moves the events. It is about the
struggle that characters face to lead them ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

not completely true. He taught Doodle to stand and walk. He even wanted him to run, swim and climb
tree just like normal kids. But all of this was not only because he really loved him and wanted him to
be normal. It was also because he was ashamed to pull him in the cart or to have a disabled little

The Old Testament Prophets
Introduction: Haggai is the prophet that tethers the Old Testament Prophets to second temple Judiasm
and New Testament Christianity. The man himself is covered in mystery and intrigue. Who is this
prophet that comes on the scene and vanishes as fast as he appears? The context is in a time when the
Israelites are back in the land YWHW promised, yet things feel much different. The temple is not yet
in construction and the Judeans are having trouble with the indigenous Samaritans. Haggai has a
challenge, but he is just the man for the job, and YWH has called him for just the time as this. Haggai
The person: Little is known of the prophet Haggai. The name Haggai means feast of Yahweh or by
contraction, Hagariah means Yahweh hath girded. This leads scholars to believe that he was born on a
feast day. Another theory is that the writer of the book recorded Haggai s prophecies later, and like
Malachi, gave him a nickname because he prophesied on feast days. He prophesied for a very short
time. Haggai 1:15 record the dates of Haggai s prophetic ministry. He prophesied in the Second year
of King Darius (521 486), in the year 520 from August 29th to December 18th. These 15 short weeks
make up one of the smallest prophetic ministries in the prophetic books. We also know Haggai existed
through other biblical and extra biblical sources. The book of Ezra contains passages mentioning
Haggai initiating the reconstruction of the temple (Ezra 5:1, Ezra 6:14 15). He is documented in

The Case Outside Of Therapy
I would not conduct the child custody evaluation for him because this would be a dual role or multiple
relationship. Since I have already been counseling this client, and already have a relationship and
opinion (that he is a good person who loves his kids) with him, this may make it hard to remain
objective if I were to conduct the child custody evaluation. Also, there are two sides to every story,
thus even though the client seems nice and loving while in therapy, that may not be the case outside of
therapy. Also, entering into a multiple relationship is against the American Psychological Association
(APA) (2010) Ethical Principles. Ethical code 3.05 states that therapists should avoid multiple
relationships because being in one can impair their competence, effectiveness, objectivity and can put
the client at risk for harm or exploitation. The APA ethical principle of avoiding harm also applies to
this scenario (APA, 2010). If I was to do the custody evaluation for my client, and find that he should
not have custody, this would ruin our therapeutic alliance and greatly harm the client. Although some
therapists may belief that they would be competent and objective enough to conduct the child custody
evaluation for their current client, they should stay on the side of caution, not take the risk and refer
the client to a different professional who is competent in these evaluations.

Montaigne And St. Augustine s Confessions
Montaigne and St. Augustine s views of happiness and the self are both very compelling and
indicative of the times of which they were living. If both Montaigne and St. Augustine were to
converse today, it would be apparent that there would be a bit of clashing between their unique
methods of applying human logic to achieve a higher level of understanding of daily events and the
environment around them. St. Augustine uses a linear, dogmatic technique to emphasize one s sins
while still glorifying God, and Montaigne with a more fluid, skeptical, unbiased approach through
personal reflection. These two distinct ways of perceiving the self and higher order understanding are
apparent in Montaigne s Essays and St. Augustine s narrative Confessions. ... Show more content on

Augustine was born in northern Africa portion of the Roman Empire in 354, a time of which
Catholicism was not a prominent feature of Roman society and of which had failed to make an
impression on Augustine until he was in his early thirties (45 6 B). He was quite an intellectual as he
became a professor and taught grammar and was well versed in Latin. Augustine s intelligence is
apparent in the systematic progression of his autobiography Confessions as he looks back at his past
self from a child to an adult in his upper forties with a new higher order perception of the self.
Augustine uses God as a method of conversion from egocentricity to a more God central view in his
depiction of reasonless theft simply because I loved the evil in me (52 B) and further shows the
transition in his thinking by his realization that the pears we stole were beautiful for they were created
by Thee, Thou most Beautiful of all (53 B). By writing as a new person looking at their past self that
was susceptible to lust, theft, and all kinds of sins, Augustine is able to convey the idea that the self is
able to change at a fixed moment, and that the defining point of the self is the memory and grace

However, it is the leagues duty to care for its athletes. The assumption of risk could also become a
defense for the league. The NFL players knew that football presented risks to their safety. Football is a
contact sport and several risk factors are involved in the game (Hanna, 2010).
In relation to concussions, the NFL players have to be knowledgeable of all the risks involved.
Because they were not fully made aware of the risks of concussion, because of lack of information,
assumption of risk does not apply. The athletes are however, partially to blame for contributing to their
injuries. Of the 160 athletes surveyed, 30 admitted they had failed to report a concussion. Failure to

The Battle For Hamburger Hill Essay
In 1969, US troops began Operation Apache Snow with the goal of clearing the People s Army of
Vietnam from the A Shau Valley in South Vietnam. Located near the border with Laos, the valley had
become an infiltration route into South Vietnam and a haven for the Peoples Army of Vietnam forces.
A multi phase operation, the second phase commenced on May 10, 1969, as elements of 3rd Brigade
of the 101st Airborne moved into the valley.
Forces were the 3rd Battalion, 187th Infantry, 2nd Battalion, 501st Infantry, and the 1st Battalion,
506th Infantry. These units were supported by the 9th Marines and the 3rd Battalion, 5th Cavalry, as
well as elements of the Army of Vietnam. Don t mean nothing , That was the reference from the
powerful 1987 movie about the battle for Hamburger Hill, more correctly called Ap Bia Mountain also
known as Hill 937. Many soldiers of that May 1969 fight would no doubt agree, since the hill was
abandoned to the enemy soon after it was taken. But the truth is that it was one of the most key and
historical battles of the war, for it spelled the end of Major American ground combat operations in
Vietnam.

impacts on her function, safety and independence. Focus of this essay will be demonstrating how the
dignity of the client/patient can be maintained through dignified nursing care. The main purpose of
this assessment will be to protomote both problem solving and care provision including
prioritising.According to Miller s Functional Theory, not all the health issues are due to age related
changes, lot of them are a result of risk factors. These can be addressed and even prevented. Nurses
play a big role in the prevention of such problems.Amelie Jones has few age related problems such as
Macular Degeneration , Arthritis and risk factors due to lifestyle such as Hypothyroidism, risk of fall,
weight loss and depression. Nursing interventions will be person centred and ethical.
Mrs Amalie Jones is an 89 year old widow. She lives alone and had to give up on lot of things of her

Effects Of Money In The Great Gatsby
Does money truly give us what we want? Having vast amounts of money may be a dream to various
people and characters within The Great Gatsby chase this dream without realizing consequences.
People do not understand that with money, comes problems and there are often dreadful things about
the wealthy that does not appear at first. Just like characters in The Great Gatsby, people in the real
world do not realize there is corruption in the rich and that money will bring you more problems than
solutions. In the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald creates the worlds of East
Egg and West Egg as representations of the idea that money creates illusions, and part of this idea is
further developed by Fitzgerald s use of Gatsby s car, Tom and the character s homes.
Having money and dreaming to be a wealthy person is an illusion. In The Great Gatsby the idea that
money is directly related to corruption is exhibited perfectly by Jay Gatsby. Gatsby lives in West Egg,
and it represents new money and spending it on the newest, fanciest things. Since Gatsby has this new
money, he buys a lavish car that will end up ruining him. This elegant car was a rich cream color,
bright with nickel, swollen here and there in its monstrous length with triumphant hat boxes and
supper boxes and tool boxes, and terraced with a labyrinth of wind shields that mirrored a dozen suns
(Fitzgerald 64). Gatsby s special car is a money boast for him. He wants to let everyone know that he

Comparing Ways in Which Celebrities are Presented in Two Tabloid Newspapers
I will be focusing on the representation of celebrities in two newspapers, the Daily Mail and the Daily
Star. I chose these newspapers as one is a redtop and one a blacktop. The Daily Mail is a blacktop,
these are generally aimed at the higher classes as they contain more challenging language, and are for
perhaps more intellectual people. From this newspaper I chose £2m bland bombshell (3rd January

aimed at the lower classes. It uses more simple, colloquial language, as this is generally the language

£2m bland bombshell tells of how Barker has gone from little known interior designer to one of the
most recognised faces on TV , even though she seemed destined to be C List . On this article,
practically the entire page is taken up by images of Barker compared to relatively little writing. The
pictures show all of her recent projects through which she has gained large sums of money. There are
10 images in total, each showing how much money she received from them, these could be shown to
emphasise just how many features Barker has appeared in and how much she has gained from them.
The article also grabs the readers attention, as there are so many pictures. This could also put more of
an emphasis on her looks, she is quite good looking and this may attract more readers.
The article on Barker is largely covered with images of her various projects. There are no shots in
which she comes across badly and she is posing in all of them. There are no pictures of her outside her
advertisements in her normal everyday life. This could suggest that advertising is her life, and she
does nothing but try and make more money. The pictures, which take up around 5/6 of the page,
emphasise just how many programmes she has been involved with. The

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Diagnostic Imaging
INTRODUCTION
Modern medicine has undergone major advancements over the past years. One of these developments
include the capacity to retrieve crucial information about the human body and its health beyond the
use of manual diagnostic techniques. This is referred to as Medical or Diagnostic Imaging.
Medical or Diagnostic Imaging refers to the various techniques that can be used to see inside the
human body. Its non invasive nature means that the body does not have to be opened up surgically for
medical practitioners to view the organs anatomically. In clinical settings, it can be used to aid in the
diagnosis or treatment of different ailments. Many kinds of medical imaging techniques have already
been developed, each with their own advantages ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Early diagnosis provided by its sophisticated technology saves countless patient lives, and without its
help, we wouldn t have been able to develop cures or treatments for many diseases. Its ability to
monitor subtle changes in patients that would otherwise be missed by unassisted human eyes is also a
hallmark of modern clinical practice.
The radiograph, one of the most common diagnostic imaging tools utilized in this field, possesses a
very important component called contrast. Contrast helps radiologists perceive image detail and glean
information from the area of interest. Radiation Technologists, or Rad Techs, should always ensure
that radiographs have the right amount of contrast so that the radiologist can easily read them for
faster diagnosis.
In terms of education, enormous equipment and expensive yet high quality machines have always
surrounded the College of Medical Radiation Technology (or CMRT). However, it is not just about the
cost but also about their effectiveness and usefulness for the CMRT students. With these machines,
students get to have hands on activities that prepare them for when they take their internship in
hospitals and as future health

Jim Sinegal
In 1983, Jim Sinegal s idea for a new business was a place where there were no signs identifying isles,
no advertising, no way for customers to bag their purchases, and before customers would be allowed
to shop, they had to pay an annual fee. That business is Costco and during Jim s 30 years as founder
and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), he grew that business into the fourth largest retailer in the
country. Looking back on the legacy Jim left behind when he retired, it is clear that Jim is one of the
most visionary and ethical leaders of our modern times. First, we will look at how Jim implemented
his vision while demonstrating idealized influence by setting aside his self interests and gaining the
trust of the customer for the good of the company. Then we will explore Costco s code of ethics that
employs Dr. Toner s principles of owing, ordering, and oughting. Finally, we will explore how Jim s
leadership style has impacted me and influenced my leadership.
Visionary Leader
Jim Sinegal was a visionary leader as demonstrated by his departure from the generally accepted retail
business practices in favor of a transformational leadership style that gained the trust of his customers.
Jim founded Costco with the idea that no product would be marked up by more than 15 percent (Chu

Mega Events Like The Olympics And Fifa World Cup
Mega Events like the Olympics and FIFA world Cup are both tremendously important and popular
today. It is because there are so few, if any, other events that truly inspire international cooperation and
unity like they do. If one can imagine these events as a mirrors reflecting back the organization of
international politics, the mega events show a picture of incredible harmony and cooperation (Segrave,
1988). Inherent in that picture of harmony is the opportunity to spread important ideals such as
equality, freedom, and democracy throughout the world. In addition global mega events like the world
cup and the Olympics have become incredibly effective tools for reorganizing an economy on
neoliberal grounds. The Olympics in particular has emerged as the premier event in the international
community. However, for all its acclaim, the presentation of the games is drastically different from the
games of old. Throughout the evolution the intentions of the games has been skewed. As a result, the

News Media Bias Essay
News media has a largely, overwhelming influence on Americans in this day and age. Over the years,
audiences have been exposed to various types of broadcast journalism, each with their own forms of
bias to generate attention towards various topics. The audience perceive bias in news media program.
An in depth analysis of bias on opinionated news compared to non opinionated news is key to figuring
out how the news media may be sensationalizing a problem. The apparent goal of some American
news media particularly cable news shows and talk radio is to stimulate a problem.
According to one news source, What works in cable television news is not an objective analysis of the
day s events but hard nosed, unstinting advocacy of a specific point of view on a sizzling hot topic .
Although individuals may turn on the television to get information on current events and issues, they
are likely to get the station s detailed, bias, perspective on it instead. One instance where this has
occurred is on the Bill O Reilly Show, which airs on fox. It is claimed that 97% of the stories
mentioned on the show are a result of O Reilly s own opinions and beliefs. This large amount of ...

With these form of news media, there is much drama and imagery that is capable of stirring ones
emotions. For example, television coverage of a natural disaster evokes a much stronger emotional
impression than print coverage. These impressions can remain with people for a long time and
influence their views on political issues. For many Americans, television is a primary source of news,
compared to others such as newspapers and radio. This was highly evident between the 2000 and 2004
U.S. presidential campaigns, where the percentage of people reported watching broadcast news
dropped from 45 to 35%, whereas the percentage of people who watched cable news increased from

Story Of Oj Simpson Essay
Consequently, there is a powerful and depressing theme in The Story of O.J. which attacks the idea of
black content being under white control head on. To further express this, Jay Z uses a line from the
O.J. Simpson TV miniseries called The People v. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, in which the
famous arrested football stated from behind bars: I m not black. I m O.J. with Jay Z, skeptical replied
okay . He might have responded that way because Simpson, like many other prominent African
American figures who have made it, have wrongly thought that his or her owns success would exempt
them from the reality of racially discrimination in America. Jay Z compares this narrow minded
mentality to drug dealers risking their lives over corners that they don t even own, and athletes who
turn their back on their community when they make it big and to rappers who sign away control of
their careers to big names who like Warner Bros who once, engaged in the production of cartoons with

Meaning that even if O.J. did not want to be categorized or held down by the label of being black he
will also be seen has a black man no matter how much he tries to conform to the standard of blackness
that white society will be willing to accept. This is evident in the case of Nat King Cole, where during
the 1960s he and a few other African Americans were able to play the leading role shows that were
actually based on the lives of African Americans but they still forced to conform to a setting that did
not allow them to discuss issues concerning cultural repetitions, social themes, and professional
conventions that they dared not transgress (156). This is the same conformation process that Hip Hop
artistes have found themselves in today as the lay helpless in the hands of the top media houses in the

The Gangster Genre of Films Essays
The Godfather is the most revolutionary gangster film of all time, it rewrote the gangster genre in such
a stylized way that all latter gangster films have conformed to this genre but also evolved it as films
have progressed.
Directed by Francis Ford Coppola The Godfather re invented the gangster genre elevating it to a
Hollywood status and making it commercially profitable. It looks into the life of the Corleone family
and represents America at that point in time. It portrays the violence and power, corruption and justice,
honour and obligation apparent at that time.
Previous to The Godfather s release the American Dream was born, to idealists America was the

All gangster movies have been judged by the standards of this one, it has a very strong script that is
well plotted, although at times difficult to understand.
Two other gangster directors are Quentin Tarantino, famous for many films but Pulp Fiction stands
out, and Guy Ritchie, the writer of Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels . and Snatch . Both of these
writers have been influenced by The Godfather , its stereotypes, plots and gangster families, and
although both writers have both influenced the genre in their separate ways, neither of them have
made quite the impact that The Godfather did. However, Pulp Fiction adopted a large cult status, it
became increasingly popular and became a Hollywood blockbuster, it did in its own re invent the
gangster genre regarding the association of humour and the subversion of the original Godfather
genre.
Tarantino made Pulp Fiction in 1994 and it was regarded as innovative and different, he plays around
with the timeline of the three inter connecting storylines that leaves you dazed and confused, but
strangely satisfied. Tarantino manages this by introducing the protagonist of each story in the previous
story, either as a minor character or a stock character.
This gives you the impression that you have

Prostitution Is The Oldest Profession
When looking into Prostitution women are usually thought to be the lowest form a part of the human
species, people make assumptions as to why a women would even bother with the idea of subjecting
herself to harsh treatment by others, people often correlate the idea of prostitution with human
trafficking. That each of these categories are of association, prostitution is the practice or occupation
of engaging in sexual activity with someone for payment. While human trafficking is the illegal
movement of people, typically for the purposes of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation.
Each of these subjects demonstrates different meanings but express the same sense of ideas, which
will be looked into too.
Prostitution it is the oldest profession, in fact there is evidence that the exchange of sex for money
goes back into our distant past. In a recent study chimpanzees were taught to use a rudimentary form
of money. (Puiu, 2011) They were given puzzles to solve and then received colored discs and then
they directed that in order to obtain treats they would need to exchange their colored discs. Soon later
on in the experiment the mammals exhibited more advance behaviors and began buying and selling or
trading sexual favors; it just seemed instinctive. Human females unlike most of our close animal
relatives do not go into estrus but stay sexually receptive all the time. One reason for this is that
human children require care for a long time. So, a female with child must

What Does Genetic Inheritance May Influence One- Behaviour
Biological level of analysis Explain how genetic inheritance may influence one behaviour, with
reference to one relevant research study. Genetic inheritance is genes that are gain from parents or
ancestors, usually from generation to generation. Genes define characteristics in a person and are
passed down through generations; however, the environment can encourage these characteristics.
Genetic inheritance does play a role in one s behaviour also their environment. Researchers are not
quite sure on whether if genetic influence or the environment impacts one s behaviour the most.
Research done on families and how the family interacted with each other each day shows genetic
influence. The study to aid the relationship between genetic influence and conduct is the Minnesota
Twins study, which meant to watch the impact of environment and genetic influence upon a large
number of variables which included: brainpower remainder, identity and word related/professional
perks, by exploring the connection between these elements in twins raised separated utilizing MZTs as
a control. Regardless of these shortcomings the study does demonstrate a solid connection between
genetic influence and insight, proposing that genetic influence has a generous impact on conduct.

Playstation 4 Vs The X Box
The release of the next generation gaming consoles has left the gaming industry is in frenzy. With so
much demand for the consoles it feels as though people are ready to give away their legs to get either
the PlayStation 4 or the X Box One. With two of these monstrous gaming devices available, the
decision to just choose just one console seems to be, for some, a life and death decision. Many people,
as a result of not conducting the proper research, fail to realize how easy of a decision this is. In this
much anticipated console race, the PlayStation 4 has a clear advantage over the X box One and as a
result, it is the console that consumers should look to buy.
Firstly, one must look at the hardware specification for both these consoles. Although both the X Box
One and the PS4 include intricate graphic processing units, the PlayStation 4 has a GPU that is 50%
more powerful than the Xbox One (Anthony). This will allow gamers to experience a more stunning
and realistic gaming experience and will permit the game developers to produce games that are
superior in quality. In addition, the PS4 and the X Box One have similar random access memory or
RAM, speeds but the distinction is in complexity, and this allows PlayStation 4 s RAM to run a
memory bandwidth of roughly 176GB per second, while the Xbox One gets by with bandwidth of
around 68.26GB per second (Cunningham). With the colossal advantage in RAM the PlayStation 4 is
able to run heavier programs and games more

memory loss, paranoia, and psychological changes at that time, so that was a case that Dr. Alzheimer
wrote in the autopsy that there was shrinkage in and around nerve cells in her brain.
After a while the electron microscope was invented by Max Knoll and Ernst Ruska, permitting
magnification up to 1 million time efforts. This invention allowed scientists to comprehend brain cells
with greater detail. Cognitive measurement scales were invented which permitted researchers to
measure impairment and evaluate the volume of damaged brain tissue. This was the first attempt to

There are lot of different evens are held in the world every year. For example, a few centuries ago
Congress established the National Institute on Aging. To this day, the NIA supports Alzheimer s

The Prisoner s Fight, Patriotism, And Duty
Do the terms honor, patriotism, and duty defines a soldier s hardships and struggles that he encounters
during times of war? Defiant, recreates the experiences of eleven men captured during the Vietnam
War and sent to the various camps like Hao Lo in North Vietnam. While there the American prisoners
commitment to their honor, patriotism, and duty would be put to the test through the harsh living
conditions and torture inflicted upon them both physically and mentally. Townley s use of William
Henley s poem Invictus accurately describes the prisoner s fight to preserve the values as a soldier and
to their country. Throughout their time as prisoners, arguably these values of honor, patriotism, and
duty were adapted and changed to help the POWs cope with their situation. The evolution of these
values provided the POWs with hope, resistance, and the will to survive their North Vietnamese
captors to return home. Duty defined the POWs experience during their time in North Vietnam as they
tried to obey the moral promises to their military and country. In the beginning, many prisoners
attempted to abide by the Code of Conduct they were taught. Jerry Denton encouraged his fellow
POWs to stand with the code, their duty, and not divulge any information other than their branch,
name, birthday, or record number. As their imprisonment continued their attitudes towards their duty
and the code evolved. Knowing that they would submit to torture, their ideas of duty developed as

Summary Of The Osage Firebird
The story The Osage Firebird is a narrative written story. The story tells about Betty Marie Tallchief
and the challenges she faced in to becoming the prima ballerina of the New York City Ballet. The
structure of the story includes cause and effect and chronological order.
The structure of The Osage Firebird is a narrative passage. In addition to this this text also uses
chronological order an example of this is Born in 1925 the author uses this to show how much time
passes in the story. It also uses some cause and effect an example of this is As a child, Betty Marie
Tallchief listened for hours to her grandmother s stories of fire spirits and animals that could talk. This
is the cause and the effect. She never forgot the tales, or the pride, that she learned at her grandmother

Going on to the second paragraph you can see the narrative writing an example. Betty Marie soon
became a local star, performing at rodeos and county fairs. Looking at this it seems as if the author
knew Betty herself telling what he/she knew about her. Another cause and effect can be found here.

Minimum Age Of Criminal Responsibility In England And Wales
This essay will look to explore and discuss the minimum age of criminal responsibility in England and
Wales and see if the minimum age should be brought into line with the rest of Europe or not. The first
thing to look at is the current age of criminal responsibility which is set at 10 years of age.
(https://www.gov.uk/age of criminal responsibility). Looking at the law, the age of 10 seems to have
been chosen on numerical grounds and belief that crime becomes too popular at the age of eleven.
This was despite recommendation from the penal reform international which argued that children
under 12 should not be punished and the age should be increased, with a potential rise to fourteen.
(http://www.penalreform.org/wp content/uploads/2013/05/justice for children briefing 4 v6

extensive public awareness of growth around youth crime and the death of James Bulger by Robert

Pine Island
The poem Lying in a Hammock at William Duffy s Farm in Pine Island, Minnesota has inspired reams
of analysis and debate and still does to this day. We are presented in James Wright s poem with several
images which are actually distinct, though they are loosely connected by situation, but is for us
connected with them by neither logic nor association. A great majority of the images that occur in the
poem are based off of the basic senses such as our auditory and visual senses. Although almost basic
in a sense, the content of the poem uses our own natural, human senses to express this aura of
mediocrity and usualness. At first glance, one would wonder about the unusually long title of this
poem. The title, although extensive, gives readers an exact location. In this case, that would be Pine
Island, Minnesota. Oddly enough, a specific location actually brings about a sense of anonymity,
considering it is somewhere as out of pocket and normal as Minnesota. The author chose such a place
to make readers picture the conceived rural image associated with states like Minnesota, North
Dakota, Nebraska, and so forth. With this image in play, the author begins the poem by speaking of a
bronze butterfly in Line 1. The description of bronze brings rigidity to the softness of the butterfly. It

Indian Ocean Trade Research Paper
With the years of development of trades between Silk Roads and the Indian Ocean, both went through

Muslim traders had dominated the sea. The world s shipping lanes was the Indian ocean during the
years 1100 1500 A.D, as Arab sailors soon were masters of the sea trade in the ocean. When northern
groups had taken over parts of silk routes, sea trades were taken as they were alternate paths. This
resulted in Chinese becoming masters of ship building and merchants creating new trade routes and a
new credit system. When the Song dynasty came, silk roads were becoming less common in use of

Notes On Inflation, Aggregate Demand And Supply
Task 8: Inflation, aggregate demand supply
Pass Questions
Q2)
CPI
The CPI is an economic, measurable tool that was developed utilizing the costs of a specimen of
delegate things whose costs are gathered occasionally. Sub records and sub sub files are figured for
various classes and sub classifications of products and administrations, being joined to deliver the
general file with weights mirroring their shares in the aggregate of the buyer uses secured by the list.
The yearly rate change in a CPI is utilized as a measure of expansion.
Weaknesses of CPI
1. The CIP calculations are based on a single, generic market basket of goods, which is inappropriate
as the basket varies from individual to individual.
2. Fails to acknowledge changes or improvements in quality.
3. It doesn t take into account effects of the substitution effect. Due to this, the CPI overstates
inflation, when consumers choose to substitute one good for another after its price becomes cheaper
than the good they normally buy.
4. New products bias ABS updates the market basket of goods that used to figure CPI roughly every
five years and the items presented between these upgrades are not included in the market basket and
those items cost increases are not included in CPI.
5. Outlet bias People will probably purchase items from Internet and discount stores yet ABS gathers
value measurements from traditional full price retail stores.

  • 2. Leadership Theories Of The Great Man Theory Leaders are born not mad, I don t fully agree with this statement. I believe that a leader can be born with leadership traits but will then have to develop these traits and other characteristics and decision making techniques to become an effective leader. I will justify this by explaining the four main categories of leadership theories ➢ Great Man Theory ➢ Trait Theory ➢ Behavioral Theory ➢ Contingency theory Situational theory Path goal theory Participation theory model There are many different leadership theories; these leadership theories can be places into four main categories: 1. Great Man Theories this theory assumes that leadership can be inherited, that they are born not taught. The Great Man theory reveals great leaders as heroic, mythic and certain to rise to leadership when needed. A leader is born with the required core characteristics of a great leader including confidence, intelligence and social skills. The term Great Man theory was used because at the time leadership was thought to be a primarily male quality. 2. Trait Theories theories that consider personal qualities and characteristics that differentiate leaders from non leaders (Robbins, Millett, Maree Boyle Tim Judge, Organisational Behaviour). Personal traits that are common among successful leaders are: Drive: having high energy, display initiative and are tenacious Self confidence: trusting themselves and have confidence in their abilities Creativity: are creative and original ... • 3. Important Parts Of A Cell Introduction The body is made up of billions and billions of cells that make up tissues that make up organs, which make up organ systems. Within those cells are organelles including but not limited to a nucleus, organelles, and cytosol. Cells are one of the most basic units of our bodies. With that being said, it is safe to say that cells are extremely important. There are many parts of a cell and many ways that a cell works. One of the most important parts of a cell is the plasma membrane. The plasma membrane is the outer surface of a cell, which is made up of things called phospholipids, which form a phospholipid bilayer. This bilayer is made up of phospholipids (75%), cholesterol (20%), and glycoproteins (5%). This bilayer is only possible due to the phospholipids being amphipathic (polar and non polar parts). Phospholipids are composed of a hydrophilic (water loving) head and 2 hydrophobic (water fearing) tails. The Plasma membrane separates the cell s internal environment from its external environment. It also plays a key role in communication among cells and between cells and their external environment, (Tortora 60). Many different proteins are located all throughout the plasma membrane. Some float around freely and others are stationary in specific locations. For example, integral proteins extend all the way through the lipid bilayer and go further into the interior of the cell. This makes them transmembrane proteins due to the fact that they go all the way ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It can also be interpreted, however, as a debate about the purpose of the corporation or about whose interests the corporation should ultimately serve. Various academics have joined the debate, arguing that there is an increasing consensus that managers should strive to maximize shareholder value, and that doing so maximizes social welfare. There is also a claim that managers are increasingly setting shareholder value maximization as their main corporate target. This paper questions the existence of a widespread consensus that companies maximize shareholder value or should do so. Theoretical reasons to doubt the existence of a strong consensus are often related to the externalities that a focus on shareholder value maximization would create. How corporations are run can affect, for example, the welfare of entire regions. Tirole (2001, p. 3) summarizes this line of reasoning by writing, There is no denying that such externalities may be substantial [...]. Why should institution design ignore the natural stakeholders, and favor the investors, who are stakeholders by design, by giving them full control rights and by aligning managerial compensation with their interests? • 6. Essay On Family Observation For my observation on a speech event, I chose to observe my relatives coming to my home for a small dinner/get together on Thanksgiving. I had around 13 families get together. As a custom of greeting the guest, my brother and I had gone to open the door for them. To show respect toward the elders, who were the grandparents, we had to put our hands together, bow, say Sat Sri Akal , and give them a hug. What I found interesting was that we greeted are uncles and aunts, my brother and I had different ways to greet them. For me I would do the same things I did towards the grandparents for my aunts, but when I greeted my uncles I never really gave them a hug. As for my brother he had given hugs to both my aunt and uncle. I also noticed that my uncles would say Sat Sri Akal and walk away, but for my brother almost all of them had a full on conversation at the door and gave him hugs. While I mostly made conversations with my aunts. For my cousins, the way we greeted them was completely different from the way we greeted the elders. When we went the greet them there was no formality. Neither my brother or I said, Sat Sri Akal , bowed, or even put out our hands together; even if they were older than us. Instead, I would say hi, while my brother would say sup to his male cousins and hi or hello to his female cousins. As long as they were consider cousins or not elders we did not have to greet them with formality. I was surprised on how differently my brother and I had ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Theme Of Anthem, By Ayn Rand Anthem, by Ayn Rand, is a book that deals with topics of power, love, and individualism, and societal and personal differences . The theme of anthem, that individuality must be protected, is widespread and prominent, referenced throughout the book, from the viewpoint of the main character. This will go over the character, the time, and the setting in the book, helping to show and understand the theme because the author can convey plot points and themed information better through the components of the book themselves, rather than outright stating it in the book. The character helps understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our society, because it shows what the emotional and physical links to the society in the book, as well as the mental states and feelings influencing the text. The main character is named Equality 7 252 . He described himself as 6 , and he had always been more interested in the scientific attributes of nature, rather than the job at hand. He held little regard for the rules of the society, as shown by his disregard to law. The laws say that none among men may be alone, ever and at any time, for this is the great transgression and the root of all evil. But we have broken many laws, (Rand ) This character helped understand the theme in the story, that individuality must be treasured in our society, since the character is , while struggling to maintain his own individuality. ...and we would work for our brothers, gladly and willingly, ...What is my life, if I am but to bow, to agree and to obey?... (Rand). This quote helps support the theme in the novel by showing Equality s individuality in different parts of the book. At the beginning, he denied his individuality and tried to blend in with the conformist society, while at the end, he accepts and treasures his individuality. This relates to the theme by showing that his individuality is treasured and valued by him. The character and the setting work together to help find the theme in multiple ways. The characters lives and works in the setting, while the setting and society helps influence the main character. The setting shows where the character lives in the world, and how the culture in ... • 8. High Intensity Focused Ultrasound ( Hifu ) Therapy System,... ABSTRACT In High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) therapy system, electrical impedance matching networks should be used between the ultrasound transducer and signal generator in order to maximize the electrical power transmission. Impedance matching networks are designed based on LC resonant networks and that can be analyzed by analytical design theory and smith chart design technique. Graphical method using smith chart is adapted to understand the concept. The reflective power should be reduced after successfully matching the electrical circuit. However, the problem with our case, HIFU transducer has been observed with significant amount of reflective during LC matching network; that reflective power has to be reduced as much as possible. In order to eliminate reflective power we tried transformer matching instead of LC network and we are getting desired output. Even after that, we are getting slightly change over working resonance frequency which is not optimum for highly focused ultrasound transducer application or any other application. However, if we propose broadband matching network for transducer matching then we can increase the range of working frequency and we can compensate that problem. To conclude, transmission power can be increased by implementing broadband electrical matching networks. In this paper, I discuss the characteristics and different applications of piezoelectric material and how matching is an important to observe the behavior of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every short story will consist of five different elements. These are as follows: Setting, Plot, Character, Point of View and Theme. In this essay, we are going to discuss three of these stories and try to look at them from different perspectives. We will be considering the elements of the stories and how the writers expressed that. We are going to discuss the different phases and changes that each character in these three different stories from the beginning until the end with some highlight on the events and conflicts that lead to these changes. We will start with A Letter from Gaza by Ghassan Kanafani, then After Twenty Years by O. Henry and last will be The Scarlet Ibis by J. Hurst. I will give a summarizing overall conclusion at the end of this essay. Conflict is a major component within the plot element of a story and moves the events. • 10. The Old Testament Prophets Introduction: Haggai is the prophet that tethers the Old Testament Prophets to second temple Judiasm and New Testament Christianity. The man himself is covered in mystery and intrigue. Who is this prophet that comes on the scene and vanishes as fast as he appears? The context is in a time when the Israelites are back in the land YWHW promised, yet things feel much different. The temple is not yet in construction and the Judeans are having trouble with the indigenous Samaritans. Haggai has a challenge, but he is just the man for the job, and YWH has called him for just the time as this. Haggai The person: Little is known of the prophet Haggai. The name Haggai means feast of Yahweh or by contraction, Hagariah means Yahweh hath girded. This leads scholars to believe that he was born on a feast day. Another theory is that the writer of the book recorded Haggai s prophecies later, and like Malachi, gave him a nickname because he prophesied on feast days. He prophesied for a very short time. Haggai 1:15 record the dates of Haggai s prophetic ministry. He prophesied in the Second year of King Darius (521 486), in the year 520 from August 29th to December 18th. These 15 short weeks make up one of the smallest prophetic ministries in the prophetic books. We also know Haggai existed through other biblical and extra biblical sources. The book of Ezra contains passages mentioning Haggai initiating the reconstruction of the temple (Ezra 5:1, Ezra 6:14 15). He is documented in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since I have already been counseling this client, and already have a relationship and opinion (that he is a good person who loves his kids) with him, this may make it hard to remain objective if I were to conduct the child custody evaluation. Also, there are two sides to every story, thus even though the client seems nice and loving while in therapy, that may not be the case outside of therapy. Also, entering into a multiple relationship is against the American Psychological Association (APA) (2010) Ethical Principles. Ethical code 3.05 states that therapists should avoid multiple relationships because being in one can impair their competence, effectiveness, objectivity and can put the client at risk for harm or exploitation. The APA ethical principle of avoiding harm also applies to this scenario (APA, 2010). If I was to do the custody evaluation for my client, and find that he should not have custody, this would ruin our therapeutic alliance and greatly harm the client. Although some therapists may belief that they would be competent and objective enough to conduct the child custody evaluation for their current client, they should stay on the side of caution, not take the risk and refer the client to a different professional who is competent in these evaluations. 1b. • 12. Montaigne And St. Augustine s Confessions Montaigne and St. Augustine s views of happiness and the self are both very compelling and indicative of the times of which they were living. If both Montaigne and St. Augustine were to converse today, it would be apparent that there would be a bit of clashing between their unique methods of applying human logic to achieve a higher level of understanding of daily events and the environment around them. St. Augustine uses a linear, dogmatic technique to emphasize one s sins while still glorifying God, and Montaigne with a more fluid, skeptical, unbiased approach through personal reflection. These two distinct ways of perceiving the self and higher order understanding are apparent in Montaigne s Essays and St. Augustine s narrative Confessions. ... Augustine was born in northern Africa portion of the Roman Empire in 354, a time of which Catholicism was not a prominent feature of Roman society and of which had failed to make an impression on Augustine until he was in his early thirties (45 6 B). He was quite an intellectual as he became a professor and taught grammar and was well versed in Latin. Augustine s intelligence is apparent in the systematic progression of his autobiography Confessions as he looks back at his past self from a child to an adult in his upper forties with a new higher order perception of the self. Augustine uses God as a method of conversion from egocentricity to a more God central view in his depiction of reasonless theft simply because I loved the evil in me (52 B) and further shows the transition in his thinking by his realization that the pears we stole were beautiful for they were created by Thee, Thou most Beautiful of all (53 B). By writing as a new person looking at their past self that was susceptible to lust, theft, and all kinds of sins, Augustine is able to convey the idea that the self is able to change at a fixed moment, and that the defining point of the self is the memory and grace ... Having vast amounts of money may be a dream to various people and characters within The Great Gatsby chase this dream without realizing consequences. People do not understand that with money, comes problems and there are often dreadful things about the wealthy that does not appear at first. Just like characters in The Great Gatsby, people in the real world do not realize there is corruption in the rich and that money will bring you more problems than solutions. In the novel The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Fitzgerald creates the worlds of East Egg and West Egg as representations of the idea that money creates illusions, and part of this idea is further developed by Fitzgerald s use of Gatsby s car, Tom and the character s homes. Having money and dreaming to be a wealthy person is an illusion. In The Great Gatsby the idea that money is directly related to corruption is exhibited perfectly by Jay Gatsby. The radiograph, one of the most common diagnostic imaging tools utilized in this field, possesses a very important component called contrast. Contrast helps radiologists perceive image detail and glean information from the area of interest. Radiation Technologists, or Rad Techs, should always ensure that radiographs have the right amount of contrast so that the radiologist can easily read them for faster diagnosis. It is because there are so few, if any, other events that truly inspire international cooperation and unity like they do. Inherent in that picture of harmony is the opportunity to spread important ideals such as equality, freedom, and democracy throughout the world. While there the American prisoners commitment to their honor, patriotism, and duty would be put to the test through the harsh living conditions and torture inflicted upon them both physically and mentally. Townley s use of William Henley s poem Invictus accurately describes the prisoner s fight to preserve the values as a soldier and to their country. Throughout their time as prisoners, arguably these values of honor, patriotism, and duty were adapted and changed to help the POWs cope with their situation. The evolution of these values provided the POWs with hope, resistance, and the will to survive their North Vietnamese captors to return home. Duty defined the POWs experience during their time in North Vietnam as they tried to obey the moral promises to their military and country. In the beginning, many prisoners attempted to abide by the Code of Conduct they were taught. Jerry Denton encouraged his fellow POWs to stand with the code, their duty, and not divulge any information other than their branch, name, birthday, or record number. As their imprisonment continued their attitudes towards their duty and the code evolved. Knowing that they would submit to torture, their ideas of duty developed as they ... • 35. Minimum Age Of Criminal Responsibility In England And Wales This essay will look to explore and discuss the minimum age of criminal responsibility in England and Wales and see if the minimum age should be brought into line with the rest of Europe or not. The first thing to look at is the current age of criminal responsibility which is set at 10 years of age. (https://www.gov.uk/age of criminal responsibility). Looking at the law, the age of 10 seems to have been chosen on numerical grounds and belief that crime becomes too popular at the age of eleven. This was despite recommendation from the penal reform international which argued that children under 12 should not be punished and the age should be increased, with a potential rise to fourteen. (http://www.penalreform.org/wp content/uploads/2013/05/justice for children briefing 4 v6 web_0.pdf). • 36. Pine Island The poem Lying in a Hammock at William Duffy s Farm in Pine Island, Minnesota has inspired reams of analysis and debate and still does to this day. We are presented in James Wright s poem with several images which are actually distinct, though they are loosely connected by situation, but is for us connected with them by neither logic nor association. A great majority of the images that occur in the poem are based off of the basic senses such as our auditory and visual senses. Although almost basic in a sense, the content of the poem uses our own natural, human senses to express this aura of mediocrity and usualness. At first glance, one would wonder about the unusually long title of this poem. The title, although extensive, gives readers an exact location. In this case, that would be Pine Island, Minnesota. Oddly enough, a specific location actually brings about a sense of anonymity, considering it is somewhere as out of pocket and normal as Minnesota. The author chose such a place to make readers picture the conceived rural image associated with states like Minnesota, North Dakota, Nebraska, and so forth. With this image in play, the author begins the poem by speaking of a bronze butterfly in Line 1. The description of bronze brings rigidity to the softness of the butterfly. It also initiates the connection of light throughout the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... To lean back as the evening darkens , as mentioned in Line 11, almost means to give up.
