The Life And Work Of Joseph Stalin
Joseph Stalin, leader of Russia (1928 1953), created a Five Year Plan that included methods and goals
which were detrimental to Russian agriculture in 1928. Stalin wanted to transform individual farms
into large collective farms because he saw that the government was losing money to private traders.
This required that the majority of farmers would have to work and live together on large state run
farms. Through these farms Stalin hoped to increase agricultural productivity, to create grain reserves
for Russia, and to free many peasants for industrial work in the cities. In order to begin
collectivization Stalin had about 5 million wealthier peasants, or kulaks, deported and/or killed and
their equipment and livestock sent to collective farms.

Analysis of Microsoft Financial Statements
Analysis of Financial Statements
Financial statements are frequently a key source of information for financial decisions and taking a
look at Microsoft s financial statements can help us decide certain things about the company. There
are three different types of statements that will be discussed in this section. These include: the balance
sheet, the income statement, and the statement of cash flows. They are discussed here in either the
sense of quarterly or yearly statements and will be noted as so. All information has been derived from
Yahoo Finance. (http://finance.yahoo.com) The first statement that will be analyzed for Microsoft is
the balance sheet. The balance sheet is essentially a snapshot of what the firm owns ... Show more

The final section of the statement of cash flows is the financing section, which shows the dividends
paid, the purchases of stock, the net borrowings, and other possible cash flows from financing
activities. A positive trend for investors is the fact that dividends paid has increased (even though it is
negative to the firm) as well as sale purchase of stock, from 2009 to 2011 and even increased quarterly
in 2011. The net borrowings is off an on from 2009 to 2011 possibly because of certain funds needed
in particular years. In 2009, it was $5,746,000,000 and in 2010, it was $190,000,000. It shot back up
again in 2011, with $5,960,000,000. The three statements that were provided in this section provide
possible investors, competitors, and even those within the company with useful information to make
important decisions that could affect their livelihood or the livelihood of Microsoft. Keep in mind that
even though financial statements are a solid indicator of how a company is performing, one key
principle about must be known when viewing them to make decisions. They do not always provide all
of the information that you may need. There are usually underlying topics that could affect the
company that are not necessarily showing up on their financial statements. These topics are discussed
in other sections of this report on Microsoft.
We feel it important to compare Microsoft s ratios not only to other companies and industry norms,

Similarities Between China And The United States
I will discuss the similarities and differences between China and the United States in economy,
politics, history, culture and the future development.
Initially, in economic terms, the People s Republic of China implements the socialist market economy,
which originates from China s economic reform under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping. It is based on
the dominant position of state owned sector and the open market economy( Socialist market economy,
n.d.). While the United States implements the capitalist economic system, namely, it is based on
private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit.(Shudhanshu, 2016). Thus,
their economic system is different.
Subsequently, China and the US also have distinct political systems. The United ... Show more content

That is both China and the US gained their independence of the nation by winning the war. For
example, the victory of the American Revolutionary War ended the British colonial rule, which
realized the independence of the nation, established a relatively democratic political system, and
brought a positive impact on the economic development of the US. In the history of China, the second
Anti Japanese War was a nationalist war that China had fought against Japanese aggression. In the
victory of this war, China completely defeated the Japanese aggressors, which defended the integrity
of the nation s territory, and also laid a significant foundation for the founding of the new China. In
addition, these two countries also have experienced civil war. However, the nature of the civil war is
different. The Chinese civil war was a conflict between the Communist Chinese Communist Party and
the Kuomintang over China s legitimate administration of power( Chinese Civil War, n.d.). While the
essence of the American civil war was the economic and institutional differences between north and
south states, which led to the outbreak of

Model Of Atonement
2. The first model of atonement by the Church is the Christus Victor model, or the Satan model. This
model has three figures in it and they are God, Satan, and humanity. There are two versions of this
model. The ransom version and the cosmic battle version. With the ransom version Satan has control
over humanity, and all of their souls. God has to offer a ransom in order to free humankinds souls.
God makes the deal of handing over Jesus as a ransom payment to free the souls, and Satan proceeds
to kill Jesus taking it as a victory. Jesus then is resurrected allowing the return to God and the victory
for Christ. The souls of humanity are freed, and Jesus is still alive. It leaves the Satan with nothing,
and God with everything making Him the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This is a model of non violence, shows that atonement does not rely on punishment, and Jesus is not a
weak passive character. The symbols of God, Jesus, Satan, or humanity being taken in a worldlier
view that can provide a direct connection. This is a interpretation to the cosmic battle where the main
characters are metaphorically interpreted. Jesus was not this passive character, He was an activist
trying to make the Kingdom of God visible to humanity. An example is the Roman Empire. The
Roman Empire is Satan. They are a force that has a lot of power and control, but do not recognize God
as the true power of the universe. They are fighting to take control of the world, and declare
themselves kings and gods. They are not being humble and thanking God, and putting their success in
Him. In this case the Church is the representation of God. The Roman Empire does not recognize the
Church as the true power, and try to act without the Church on their side. Jesus is sent as the
embodiment of the Kingdom of God. He is sent to spread God s message, and show people the light.
Jesus is still put to death in this scenario, but it means something different. Jesus us spreading a
message against the Roman Empire, and talking about a power that is greater than them. They are
afraid of what Jesus is saying, and the following that is starting, and Jesus is put to death because the
Romans oppose the message. The

Degradation Of Immigrants
In light of the current situation having to do with the degradation of immigrants, legal or not in this
country, I have chosen an unwritten text that is close to my heart, the Mexican and American flags
combined to create a new one. It takes pieces of the Mexican flag like the eagle emblem and pieces of
the American flag like the stars and stripes to create a new vision of solidarity. I have seen this symbol
more often in the last year due to the current administration s policies and the many ways it seeks to
change the status of the immigrant population. This representation of unity was created for those who
feel a strong tie to both America and Mexico, for those who are proud to be a part of both countries
and who believe that the two nations

The Stages Of An Unreflective Thinker
Critical thinking is being able to evaluate an issue or situation to form a judgment. Having the ability
to think clearly and rationally, being able to have an argument and understand the main concept and
question any doubts you have and making your own conclusion. Being a good critical thinker can help
you in a lot of ways professionally and personally. Employers often want to see someone that can
think rationally and that is able to make their business grow and develop they want someone that will
take initiative in crucial situations. In our personal lives, it is important so we learn how to distinguish
the main facts about an argument and learn to analyze the problem and make a conclusion of what
needs to be done to help solve and prevent any future problems. According to Linda Elder and Richard
Paul, there are six stages of a critical thinker the unreflective thinker, the challenged thinker, the
beginning thinker, the advanced thinker, and finally the accomplished thinker which is where we
would all want to be in. (The Critical Thinking Community , 2010) Stage one the unreflective thinker
is simply someone that is unaware of what role thinking is playing in their lives. I think we are all
born as an unreflective thinker and some people don t know the useful conception of what thinking
really is and they don t develop better thinking skills and end up dying the same way. Being an
unreflective thinker means that you know you have a problem but don t take the time or don t

Mis De Los Familiares Analysis
The first and last time Miss Coronado crossed the border was in May of 1992. During this time
according to her, immigration across the US Mexican border was not as strict as it is today. Although,
they dint have to walk through the more dangerous part of the desert in order to stay hidden, for
Patricia the eighty mile walk was all but a breeze. Mis pies los tenia bien hinchados y teníamos que

Should Renewable Energy Be A Better Choice For Poor...
Third World Going Green In the article, Sorry, Bill Gates, But You re Wrong on Renewable Energy
written by Jigar Shah and published by Time, we are given a blogging quote by Bill Gates. Gates says
that cheap electricity should be distributed to poor countries to protect them from indoor air pollution
that comes from burning dung, or anything else to cook. Shah reiterates by saying, and backs up, that
investing into renewable energy sources are the better choice for poor countries. Not only for them
because of its reliability but cheaper for us, the audience, to invest in for them. Even though he has a
few good points why renewable energy is a better option, and his audience should believe him, he
does not deliver it in a professional ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
His other clear objective from this article is displaying Gates as an idiot for suggesting coal
consumption and siding with a scientist, Bjorn Lomborg, who is made clear to be a terrible person.
The blog by Bill Gates on Gatesnotes titled Two Videos that Illuminate Energy Poverty gives us,
obviously, two videos from Bjorn Lomborg only after a small disclaimer from Gates. In the post,
Gates argues that developed countries should discover ways to make green energy cheaper or make
nonrenewable energy cleaner. Individuals in developed countries are trying to set usage limits on third
world countries when it is completely hypocritical. Energy assists the country to elevate themselves
out of poverty and help save lives. Gates attached videos of Lomborg s to backup how big of a
difference energy has on poverty levels. Also, Gates specifically says, I certainly don t agree with
Bjorn on everything, but I always find him worth listening to. Shah attacks Gates for agreeing with
everything this crazy scientist says when Gates clearly states that he does not.
Being an article in Time, the majority of the audience is going to be older people. Time is a news
magazine, and news is often directed at older people because, generally, they want to be informed
about the world around them more than younger people. This article, in particular, is targeting an

The Human Heart Is A Muscular Organ That Provides A...
Chapter 1
INTRODUCTION
WHAT IS HEART?
The human heart is a muscular organ that provides a continuous blood circulation through the cycle
and is one of the most vital organs in the human body. The heart is divided into four main chambers:
the two upper chambers are called the left and right atria and two lower chambers are called the right
and left ventricles. There is a thick wall of muscle separating the right side and the left side of the
heart called the septum. Fig 1: HUMAN HEART[10]
HOW DOES BLOOD FLOW THROUGH HEART?
Blood flows through the heart in one direction, from the atria to the ventricles, and out of the great
arteries, or the aorta for example. Blood is prevented from flowing backwards by the tricuspid,
bicuspid, aortic, and pulmonary valve.
The heart acts as a double pump. The function of the right side of the heart is to collect de oxygenated
blood, in the right atrium, from the body (via superior and inferior vena cava) and pump it, via the
right ventricle, into the lungs (pulmonary circulation) so that carbon dioxide can be dropped off and
oxygen picked up (gas exchange). This happens through the passive process of diffusion.
The left side collects oxygenated blood from the lungs into the left atrium. From the left atrium the
blood moves to the left ventricle which pumps it out to the body (via the aorta).
WHAT IS ITS ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY? The electric energy that stimulates the heart occurs in the
sinoatrial node, which produces a definite

Strategic Direction On The United States
The United States will not be able to effectively rebalance the Joint Force in 2025 unless sequestration
is reversed. The current U.S. strategic direction has prompted a shift of military resources to the Asia
Pacific. Globalization, cyber attacks and advances in technology will further challenge the Joint
Forces in the next ten years. It is imperative that the U.S. Joint Forces be adequately funded in order to
identify and develop critical technology, establish policies and maintain adequate force structure to
rebalance the Joint Force in 2025.
Diminishing resources and lack of predictability within the military budget process will introduce
significant strategic, military and political risk. Joint Forces capability, capacity and readiness
requirements are derived from the National Security Strategy, National Military Strategy and the
Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and provide the framework for Joint Force future strategy.
Sequestration has severely impacted the Joint Forces ability to plan and program resources necessary
to achieve these strategic objectives. Sequestration requires the DOD to execute across the board cuts
from all accounts and has limited the department s ability to move resources to accounts with greater
needs. This has not only impacted readiness and force structure, but has also reduced investment in
new weapon systems. Research and development is necessary in order to field new technologies that
will enable the Joint Force to keep ahead of

Criminals Do not Obey Gun Control Laws
In America, the average amount of people shot per year is 100,000; over ten thousand defenseless
people are murdered. The Second Amendment s proclamation that A well regulated Militia, being
necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be
infringed has been an extensive topic of debate. Moreover, the amendment has been one of many
debates over the several years throughout America. The discussion of gun control is often debated as
to whether or not it is morally right to legally bypass the Second Amendment to avoid unlawful uses
of arms. The Second Amendment allows citizens to carry firearms specifically for protection, gun
control hinders that right and places civilians lives in danger. In short, the U.S. government s intrusive
restrictions on gun laws prevent law abiding citizens from defending themselves with firearms.
The effects of gun control should abide with the Second Amendment. Although true, the Second
Amendment is not an unlimited right to own guns. Notwithstanding, the Second Amendment allows
the freedom to bear arms. The Second Amendment has never been interpreted as giving only states the
right to peaceably assemble. Moreover, the Court did not address whether the Second Amendment
applies to state and local governments. Even though the government chose to limit the rights of the
people, the Second

Improving Service Quality Within University Hospitals
Introduction
It is important to understand that facilities fall short in a lot of areas such as service quality
improvement. This not only impacts the facility, but it also affects the patient visits and services
received. Hence, it can be difficult for someone that is new to the area or perplexed with the wealth of
information related to the different subdivisions that a hospital accommodates. There are individuals
that should be put in place to help improve on service quality to its patients and customers. The
purpose of this research paper is to look into methods that are affecting service quality within
University Hospitals of Cleveland and finds ways to improve service quality.

If the correct information is not provided or if the information is not verified appropriately, it can
become an issue not only for the patient but for University Hospitals as a whole.
Managerial Dilemma There can be multiple dilemmas that can trigger the service improvement and
quality in a facility such as University Hospitals. The most valuable employees that are talented on
many different levels can leave the Patient Access department for a position that compensates more.
Due to this, the department can face some possible setbacks based on the loss of an individual that
serves a greater purpose for the department. Additionally, a department in customer service can face
employees that are late or absent on multiple occasions which, can cause the service quality to
decrease. The importance for employees to be on time and to be present is essential in, the
improvement of the service quality in Patient Access.
Ethical Concerns In order to ensure the validity of an effective research study, a more developed way
to improve service quality; researchers must ensure that data collection will be protected, it reflects
accountability and fairness. The standards of this study would also reflect that of establishing the trust
of the data information collected by participants. The intention of this research is to further collaborate

Symbolism In Young Goodman Brown And The Birthmark
Hawthorne Prompt Throughout the short stories Young Goodman Brown and The Birthmark both
written by Nathaniel Hawthorne follow the formalistic approach. The Birthmark focuses on the flaws
of human beings as Georgiana who is married to Aylmer has a birthmark on her cheek. Aylmer
becomes obsessed with perfection and sees this birthmark as a major flaw with his wife. She does then
get the birth mark removed but dies soon after. There s a lot of symbolism between the two stories. In
the Young Goodman Brown , Brown s wife Faith wears a pink ribbon in her hair. The symbolism here
is the fact that Faith s ribbon is pink which is an in between color. Red is a symbol of evil or being
provocative and white is a symbol of purity and innocence.

This particular type of stelae was a tangible form of prayer, set up in thanks to a deity in relation to a

Jonathan Bacon s A Modest Proposal, By Jonathan Swift
Amid the late 17th century, Jonathan Swift s pamphlet, A Modest Proposal, exploits the negligence of
British government towards the Irish people, especially the impoverished. To illustrate the disregard of
the government, he uses logical fallacies, metaphors, repetition and parallelism as well as humor,
sarcasm and satiric tone to highlight these negative attitudes. Not only does he applies these literary
devices, he adopts Francis Bacon s, The Four Idols, to exemplify the intention of this pamphlet.
Adopting Bacon s ideas of the corruption, illusions, and errors of people in society, Swift had the
ability to demonstrate the government s negligence towards the people of Ireland. Bacon s exemplify
his ideas regarding society through four idols: Idols of the Cave , Idols of the Tribe , Idols of the

Dignity And Question Of Doubt In The Book Of Mormon
Having doubt and questioning the doctrines of the gospel is not wrong as long as we pursue the
answers to those doubts and questions. A testimony will grow through the Holy Ghost as we seek the
answers to our doubt. Satan tries to plant doubt in our hearts and make us question the teaching of the
gospel to lead us away, and he succeeds at times. If we do not act on those doubts and questions, then
he wins, and that is what could make it wrong. Doubt means unbelief or lack of faith. Laman and

of Mormon gives examples of many people who lost their faith, and even today we have some loved
ones who have strayed. There is always hope for them to come

Computational Modeling, An Artificial Intelligence...
1. Abstract:
The Ccost estimate is important for projects throughout its life cycle, starting from feasibility studies
till tendering stage and developing BOQ, it provides significant information that even may serve
project budgeting and controlling if reliable.
This paper presents a comparison between two cost estimate predictive modeling, an artificial
intelligence approach using neural networks as non parametric modeling; and multiplely regression
modeling that represents advanced engineering statics a parametric modeling.
Results show that neural networks have advantages when dealing with data that for which there is
little a priori knowledge of the appropriate cost estimate relationship to select for regression modeling.
However, in cases where an appropriate CER can be identified, regression models have significant
advantages in terms of accuracy, variability, model creation and model examination. Both simulated
and actual data sets are used for comparison.
Our research is applied for a specific package of construction projects (concrete work) based on 17
projects with a 115 records.
Key words: construction projects, cost estimate. Concrete work, neural network, multiply regression.

Importance Of Documentation In Nursing
Documentation, it is imperative in nursing. This is clear from Dion(2001)as referred to in Owen
(2005), where she expresses that precise records guarantees nature of training as well as shields the
nurse by giving proof of his or her professional capacity. However in an examination directed by the
Maryland Nursing Workforce Commission (2007) that nurses discover documentation an exercise in
futility. In this paper the essayist will examine the significance of nursing documentation in the

documentation, medical caretakers can unmistakably portray the customer s present well being status

urine levels of the biomarkers were normalized to the urinary creatinine concentration to control for
variations in hydration status. Serum and urinary TNF α: serum levels were measured by an enzyme
linked immune absorbent assay (ELISA) using commercially available standard kits (Quantikine high
sensitivity human TNF α Research Diagnostic Systems, Europe Ltd, Abington, UK). The urinary
concentration of TNF α was determined using an enzyme linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) with a
Human TNF α Quantikine ELISA kit (DTA00C; R D systems, Minneapolis, MN, USA). The study
protocol was approved by the Ethical Committee of Faculty of Medicine, Zagazig University and
informed written consent was obtained from each individual. Statistical analyses Were performed
using the Statistical Package for the Social Sciences for Windows (version 22.0; SPSS Inc., Chicago,

analyzed. One way analysis of variance (ANOVA) test was done to compare different parameters
between more than two groups. Pearson correlation coefficient was used to assess the association
between serum and urinary TNF α levels, clinical, biochemical tests and other studied metabolic
parameters in patients with diabetic nephropathy. P values were considered significant if 0.05).On the

Meditation Treatment Modality Provided By University Of...
In this scholarly paper, I will reflect on meditation treatment modality provided by University of
Minnesota Center for Spirituality and Healing. (2014) and its benefits and opportunities for the older
population and persons with chronic diseases (Chan Larson, 2015). Moreover, I will analyze it in
terms of Barrett s Theory of Power (Barrett, 2010) and CAREE Process (O Brien Lewis, 2016). In
addition, throughout the paper, I will describe my thoughts and feelings regarding meditation and
meditative practices for caring healing holistic nursing.

The beneficial effect of meditation for people with chronic conditions is also proven by Chan Larson
(2015), however, their point of view is that further research on the topic is necessary due to the
inconsistency of the results. After examining the multiple research studies, the authors argue that
meditation may result in significant improvements in anxiety, depression, and chronic disease
symptoms . Furthermore, they state that people with chronic diseases relate more positively with their
body, which is resulting in increased activity levels and improved quality of life (Chan Larson, 2015).
In some studies, the accent was made on improvement that is achieved in perception or acceptance of
a specific symptom when the symptom itself was not changed. Meditation also relieved the
manifestations of multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and peripheral neuropathy (Chan Larson, 2015). In
addition, this complementary treatment modality has the beneficial effects on attention span, sleep
quality and latency, and enhanced well being (Morone, Lynch, Greco, Tindle, Weiner, 2008).
What critique and/or reflection would you make of the module and the author s points considering
your own experience and knowing and the learning you gained from the module on this topic? After
exploring the module and the article, I believe that meditation is especially beneficial for the older
persons due to its

Race And Class, Race, And Race
This article discusses the thought and preconceived notions that race is the major determining factor of
the health outcomes of persons living in Baltimore, an urban area. However, what was found is that
the place matters. Furthermore, what I was able to understand in greater depth is that there are deeply
rooted racial issues in the United States of America despite the legislation that has been passed to
eliminate such issues. In addition, what I was able to dissipate was that the researchers were not able
to determine which was more important or prevalent, race or place in seeking to accomplish health
equity.
In addition, the controversy was is it race and class or race or class . My conclusion is that it is both.
Race is unfortunately reflective of where you live. Despite, the Fair Discrimination Act of 1964 and
several laws both state and federal to prevent discrimination in housing it still exists. Housing
discrimination affects ones access to activities that can decrease chronic illnesses and the access to
good healthcare. I have some thoughts concerning this statement Racial segregation creates different
exposures to economic opportunity and to other community resources that enhance health . The reason
I have questions about this statement is because in the Jim Crow era until the late 1960 s there were
several communities of segregated Black populations that did very well economically. For example,

Word Choice In Early Autumn, By Langston Hughes
Blah, blah, blah. Have you ever listened to a boring person speak with unmeaningful words and
because of that you just don t care anymore? Well, that person OBVIOUSLY doesn t have good word
choice. Day to day words flow out of your mouth, good or not, but sometimes you have to rise above
the first level of that Mario Kart Race Game. Yeah! I see you. Listen up, you NEED to have incredible
words to keep people s eyes open! Surely, if someone is dozing off, texting, taking selfies, or doing
anything that is on trend, that person is NOT listening. All authors have useful words in their pieces to
make sure the reader is enjoying it and not being bored out of their mind. In the stories with a limited
word amount, flash fiction, you have to excel in your choice of words to keep your audience reading!
Word choice is a main strength that intrigues the reader in the writing pieces, Popular Mechanics by
Raymond Carver, and Early Autumn by Langston Hughes. Relationships. They are sentimental, but ...

Whether in Early Autumn when Langston Hughes uses specific words to describe surroundings, or in
Popular Mechanics when pictorial words are needed to display the scenes in the reader s minds they
both use splendid word choice to keep their readers hooked. Clearly, these passages words are stuck in
the audience s brains; they can t get out because the author s put such an impact on it. Therefore, the
sentences with those depictive words will be remembered and soon after the story will, too. In life,
specific words one uses are critical. Just like when a child is presenting a project in front of their class,
they have to have enthusiasm and non boring words. If the child is just blabbing on with useless words
no one will listen. But if there is use of exceptional word choice people will definitely look up from
that Mario Kart Race

Beethoven
The song Minute in G by Ludwig van Beethoven is a very powerful piece that gives insight to history
in a deeper way than facts but emotions. Music through history has told stories and described culture,
therefore without music there would be a gap in culture in the sense emotions could not be shared and
expressed as much. Music is universal way to express something that all can understand. Through this
piece you can gain insight on Beethoven s life and the women in the labors camps emotions.
Beethoven was born on December 16th in 1770 in Boon. He came from a family of Flemish
decedents. Beethoven lived life of music from a very young age. His father and grandfather were both
musicians. He began practicing and learning with his father ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

At the begging of Beethoven s musical career he followed the standards of what music was at the
time. As he grew as person, so did his music. He went beyond the norm of the era. He transitioned
from classical to romantic music with his boldness and ability to try new things. The piece Minute in
G by Beethoven is in the form of a minuet, which is are commonly used for court balls in the
Redoutensaal in Vienna. The song has an uplifting tone. This piece, a classic of Beethoven, is very
spirited and happy. Despite the song being cheerful there is an element of calmness as while. Once
you listen to it you feel a rise of joy and peace all at once. The song reminded me of an elite ball. I feel
as if the song is trying to convey a story between two people meeting and dancing at a ball. Beethoven
was highly respected by the upper class of Vienna due to large amount of respect that was given to
him for his prestigious music talent. He himself was at a very high social

The Whaling Of The World Without Whales
The earth has a problem that will result in the evisceration of all cetaceans if it is not stopped. What
would happen if whales disappeared from the earth? In the event it would be catastrophic. A world
without whales is a world which has lost part of the key to the ecosystem of itself. A gentle creature
that has been hunted for its blubber, oils produced in the blubber, and for scientific research. Rampant
whaling caused the population of many whale species to decrease. These marine mammals dwindled
to the point they were in danger of becoming extinct: One of the most endangered of all marine
mammals, the North Atlantic right whale currently hovers at a population of around 500 (Finch). The
International Whaling Commission (IWC) imposed ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Many countries and organizations are suspicious of Japan s intentions, which includes the Sea
Shepherd Conservation Society. Many saw this as an act of deception. Recently the state of North
Korea gave its stand on the argument of Japan s whaling industry and scientific research: North Korea
slammed Japan for its whaling practices . . ., calling the hunt for marine mammals a criminal act
(Shim). Some reason that scientific research as a means for commercial whaling. Many believe that
Japan wishes to continue its tradition of commercial whaling: North Korea also said Japan s claims to
scientific research was nothing more than a smokescreen to hide its commercial objectives. Each
country is responsible for regulating the whaling industry not the IWC. Thus each country sets the
amount whales that can be caught in the hunting season: In other words, Japan s approves its own
permits for scientific whaling without any external scrutiny or need for explanation ( Ending
Commercial Whaling ). The process of killing a whale or dolphin is long and painful. The methods
used by Japanese whalers are barbaric at best. The use of

The Interaction Between Clergy And Laity In Richard IV
The interaction between clergy and laity is also discussed a fair bit in the subtext of the source.
William Longchamps, bishop of Ely, and chancellor in Richard s stead, took castles and titles away
from the men who held them and hand[ed] them over to foreigners and unknown men (31). This
shows that the hold he has over the land with the king gone (i.e. clergy could have a firm grasp on the
government). The only other person to do this is John (the king s brother), who takes the castles away
from the men William assigned and returned them to their rightful castellans. It shows that the power
held by William and John to be about equal, since they both do the same things. Next, the clergy and
laity were against the chancellor who was hated ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Next, monks were not supposed to have (although they did) interactions with the outside world, but as
Richard (the chronicler) mentions the monks live secluded ... and yet you know everything that is
done in the world as soon as it takes places, and sometimes ... in advance (2) . This illustrates that not
all monks or monasteries followed their respective Rule fully. Some might have needed to trade, to
confer blessings, or pray in the church that the laity attend putting them in close proximity to the laity.
Monks also elected their future bishop without the assistance of the secular clergy (57). This
elucidates that the secular clergy generally got involved in the elections of clergymen, possibly putting
in their own men for the position, demonstrating that the secular clergy had little to no say in the
election, even when they were involved. The secular clergy opposed him [the chosen bishop], the
monks obtained him (57). Lastly, the bishop of Chester out of hate for religious orders cast the monks
out of Coventry (69). One must first ask: Why is this man a part of a religious order if he hates them?
and next: What was the outcome of that

  • 2. The Life And Work Of Joseph Stalin Joseph Stalin, leader of Russia (1928 1953), created a Five Year Plan that included methods and goals which were detrimental to Russian agriculture in 1928. Stalin wanted to transform individual farms into large collective farms because he saw that the government was losing money to private traders. This required that the majority of farmers would have to work and live together on large state run farms. Through these farms Stalin hoped to increase agricultural productivity, to create grain reserves for Russia, and to free many peasants for industrial work in the cities. In order to begin collectivization Stalin had about 5 million wealthier peasants, or kulaks, deported and/or killed and their equipment and livestock sent to collective farms. ... • 3. Analysis of Microsoft Financial Statements Analysis of Financial Statements Financial statements are frequently a key source of information for financial decisions and taking a look at Microsoft s financial statements can help us decide certain things about the company. There are three different types of statements that will be discussed in this section. These include: the balance sheet, the income statement, and the statement of cash flows. They are discussed here in either the sense of quarterly or yearly statements and will be noted as so. All information has been derived from Yahoo Finance. (http://finance.yahoo.com) The first statement that will be analyzed for Microsoft is the balance sheet. The balance sheet is essentially a snapshot of what the firm owns ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The final section of the statement of cash flows is the financing section, which shows the dividends paid, the purchases of stock, the net borrowings, and other possible cash flows from financing activities. A positive trend for investors is the fact that dividends paid has increased (even though it is negative to the firm) as well as sale purchase of stock, from 2009 to 2011 and even increased quarterly in 2011. The net borrowings is off an on from 2009 to 2011 possibly because of certain funds needed in particular years. In 2009, it was $5,746,000,000 and in 2010, it was $190,000,000. It shot back up again in 2011, with $5,960,000,000. The three statements that were provided in this section provide possible investors, competitors, and even those within the company with useful information to make important decisions that could affect their livelihood or the livelihood of Microsoft. Keep in mind that even though financial statements are a solid indicator of how a company is performing, one key principle about must be known when viewing them to make decisions. They do not always provide all of the information that you may need. There are usually underlying topics that could affect the company that are not necessarily showing up on their financial statements. These topics are discussed in other sections of this report on Microsoft. We feel it important to compare Microsoft s ratios not only to other companies and industry norms, ... • 4. Similarities Between China And The United States I will discuss the similarities and differences between China and the United States in economy, politics, history, culture and the future development. Initially, in economic terms, the People s Republic of China implements the socialist market economy, which originates from China s economic reform under the leadership of Deng Xiaoping. It is based on the dominant position of state owned sector and the open market economy( Socialist market economy, n.d.). While the United States implements the capitalist economic system, namely, it is based on private ownership of the means of production and their operation for profit.(Shudhanshu, 2016). Thus, their economic system is different. Subsequently, China and the US also have distinct political systems. The United ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... That is both China and the US gained their independence of the nation by winning the war. For example, the victory of the American Revolutionary War ended the British colonial rule, which realized the independence of the nation, established a relatively democratic political system, and brought a positive impact on the economic development of the US. In the history of China, the second Anti Japanese War was a nationalist war that China had fought against Japanese aggression. In the victory of this war, China completely defeated the Japanese aggressors, which defended the integrity of the nation s territory, and also laid a significant foundation for the founding of the new China. In addition, these two countries also have experienced civil war. However, the nature of the civil war is different. The Chinese civil war was a conflict between the Communist Chinese Communist Party and the Kuomintang over China s legitimate administration of power( Chinese Civil War, n.d.). • 5. Model Of Atonement 2. The first model of atonement by the Church is the Christus Victor model, or the Satan model. This model has three figures in it and they are God, Satan, and humanity. There are two versions of this model. The ransom version and the cosmic battle version. With the ransom version Satan has control over humanity, and all of their souls. God has to offer a ransom in order to free humankinds souls. God makes the deal of handing over Jesus as a ransom payment to free the souls, and Satan proceeds to kill Jesus taking it as a victory. Jesus then is resurrected allowing the return to God and the victory for Christ. The souls of humanity are freed, and Jesus is still alive. It leaves the Satan with nothing, and God with everything making Him the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This is a model of non violence, shows that atonement does not rely on punishment, and Jesus is not a weak passive character. The symbols of God, Jesus, Satan, or humanity being taken in a worldlier view that can provide a direct connection. This is a interpretation to the cosmic battle where the main characters are metaphorically interpreted. Jesus was not this passive character, He was an activist trying to make the Kingdom of God visible to humanity. An example is the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire is Satan. They are a force that has a lot of power and control, but do not recognize God as the true power of the universe. They are fighting to take control of the world, and declare themselves kings and gods. They are not being humble and thanking God, and putting their success in Him. In this case the Church is the representation of God. The Roman Empire does not recognize the Church as the true power, and try to act without the Church on their side. Jesus is sent as the embodiment of the Kingdom of God. He is sent to spread God s message, and show people the light. Jesus is still put to death in this scenario, but it means something different. Jesus us spreading a message against the Roman Empire, and talking about a power that is greater than them. They are afraid of what Jesus is saying, and the following that is starting, and Jesus is put to death because the Romans oppose the message. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Degradation Of Immigrants In light of the current situation having to do with the degradation of immigrants, legal or not in this country, I have chosen an unwritten text that is close to my heart, the Mexican and American flags combined to create a new one. It takes pieces of the Mexican flag like the eagle emblem and pieces of the American flag like the stars and stripes to create a new vision of solidarity. I have seen this symbol more often in the last year due to the current administration s policies and the many ways it seeks to change the status of the immigrant population. This representation of unity was created for those who feel a strong tie to both America and Mexico, for those who are proud to be a part of both countries and who believe that the two nations ... • 7. The Stages Of An Unreflective Thinker Critical thinking is being able to evaluate an issue or situation to form a judgment. Having the ability to think clearly and rationally, being able to have an argument and understand the main concept and question any doubts you have and making your own conclusion. Being a good critical thinker can help you in a lot of ways professionally and personally. Employers often want to see someone that can think rationally and that is able to make their business grow and develop they want someone that will take initiative in crucial situations. In our personal lives, it is important so we learn how to distinguish the main facts about an argument and learn to analyze the problem and make a conclusion of what needs to be done to help solve and prevent any future problems. According to Linda Elder and Richard Paul, there are six stages of a critical thinker the unreflective thinker, the challenged thinker, the beginning thinker, the advanced thinker, and finally the accomplished thinker which is where we would all want to be in. (The Critical Thinking Community , 2010) Stage one the unreflective thinker is simply someone that is unaware of what role thinking is playing in their lives. I think we are all born as an unreflective thinker and some people don t know the useful conception of what thinking really is and they don t develop better thinking skills and end up dying the same way. In the post, Gates argues that developed countries should discover ways to make green energy cheaper or make nonrenewable energy cleaner. Individuals in developed countries are trying to set usage limits on third world countries when it is completely hypocritical. Energy assists the country to elevate themselves out of poverty and help save lives. Gates attached videos of Lomborg s to backup how big of a difference energy has on poverty levels. • 10. The Human Heart Is A Muscular Organ That Provides A... Chapter 1 INTRODUCTION WHAT IS HEART? The human heart is a muscular organ that provides a continuous blood circulation through the cycle and is one of the most vital organs in the human body. The heart is divided into four main chambers: the two upper chambers are called the left and right atria and two lower chambers are called the right and left ventricles. There is a thick wall of muscle separating the right side and the left side of the heart called the septum. Fig 1: HUMAN HEART[10] HOW DOES BLOOD FLOW THROUGH HEART? Blood flows through the heart in one direction, from the atria to the ventricles, and out of the great arteries, or the aorta for example. Blood is prevented from flowing backwards by the tricuspid, bicuspid, aortic, and pulmonary valve. The heart acts as a double pump. The function of the right side of the heart is to collect de oxygenated blood, in the right atrium, from the body (via superior and inferior vena cava) and pump it, via the right ventricle, into the lungs (pulmonary circulation) so that carbon dioxide can be dropped off and oxygen picked up (gas exchange). This happens through the passive process of diffusion. The left side collects oxygenated blood from the lungs into the left atrium. From the left atrium the blood moves to the left ventricle which pumps it out to the body (via the aorta). WHAT IS ITS ELECTRICAL ACTIVITY? The electric energy that stimulates the heart occurs in the sinoatrial node, which produces a definite ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Strategic Direction On The United States The United States will not be able to effectively rebalance the Joint Force in 2025 unless sequestration is reversed. The current U.S. strategic direction has prompted a shift of military resources to the Asia Pacific. Globalization, cyber attacks and advances in technology will further challenge the Joint Forces in the next ten years. It is imperative that the U.S. Joint Forces be adequately funded in order to identify and develop critical technology, establish policies and maintain adequate force structure to rebalance the Joint Force in 2025. Diminishing resources and lack of predictability within the military budget process will introduce significant strategic, military and political risk. Joint Forces capability, capacity and readiness requirements are derived from the National Security Strategy, National Military Strategy and the Quadrennial Defense Review (QDR) and provide the framework for Joint Force future strategy. Sequestration has severely impacted the Joint Forces ability to plan and program resources necessary to achieve these strategic objectives. Sequestration requires the DOD to execute across the board cuts from all accounts and has limited the department s ability to move resources to accounts with greater needs. This has not only impacted readiness and force structure, but has also reduced investment in new weapon systems. Research and development is necessary in order to field new technologies that will enable the Joint Force to keep ahead of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Second Amendment s proclamation that A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a Free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed has been an extensive topic of debate. Moreover, the amendment has been one of many debates over the several years throughout America. The discussion of gun control is often debated as to whether or not it is morally right to legally bypass the Second Amendment to avoid unlawful uses of arms. The Second Amendment allows citizens to carry firearms specifically for protection, gun control hinders that right and places civilians lives in danger. In short, the U.S. government s intrusive restrictions on gun laws prevent law abiding citizens from defending themselves with firearms. The effects of gun control should abide with the Second Amendment. Although true, the Second Amendment is not an unlimited right to own guns. Notwithstanding, the Second Amendment allows the freedom to bear arms. The Second Amendment has never been interpreted as giving only states the right to peaceably assemble. Moreover, the Court did not address whether the Second Amendment applies to state and local governments. Even though the government chose to limit the rights of the people, the Second ... Aylmer becomes obsessed with perfection and sees this birthmark as a major flaw with his wife. She does then get the birth mark removed but dies soon after. • 19. Dignity And Question Of Doubt In The Book Of Mormon Having doubt and questioning the doctrines of the gospel is not wrong as long as we pursue the answers to those doubts and questions. A testimony will grow through the Holy Ghost as we seek the answers to our doubt. Satan tries to plant doubt in our hearts and make us question the teaching of the gospel to lead us away, and he succeeds at times. If we do not act on those doubts and questions, then he wins, and that is what could make it wrong. Doubt means unbelief or lack of faith. Laman and Lemuel are well known for their doubt even though they had witnessed so many miracles. The Book of Mormon gives examples of many people who lost their faith, and even today we have some loved ones who have strayed. There is always hope for them to come ... • 20. Computational Modeling, An Artificial Intelligence... 1. Abstract: The Ccost estimate is important for projects throughout its life cycle, starting from feasibility studies till tendering stage and developing BOQ, it provides significant information that even may serve project budgeting and controlling if reliable. This paper presents a comparison between two cost estimate predictive modeling, an artificial intelligence approach using neural networks as non parametric modeling; and multiplely regression modeling that represents advanced engineering statics a parametric modeling. Results show that neural networks have advantages when dealing with data that for which there is little a priori knowledge of the appropriate cost estimate relationship to select for regression modeling. However, in cases where an appropriate CER can be identified, regression models have significant advantages in terms of accuracy, variability, model creation and model examination. Both simulated and actual data sets are used for comparison. Our research is applied for a specific package of construction projects (concrete work) based on 17 projects with a 115 records. Key words: construction projects, cost estimate. Concrete work, neural network, multiply regression. 2. Introduction: Cost estimate is the productive process used to quantify cost and price the resources to achieve project scope; the output can be used for many purposes throughout project life cycle such as: Determining the economic feasibility ... This is clear from Dion(2001)as referred to in Owen (2005), where she expresses that precise records guarantees nature of training as well as shields the nurse by giving proof of his or her professional capacity. However in an examination directed by the Maryland Nursing Workforce Commission (2007) that nurses discover documentation an exercise in futility. In this paper the essayist will examine the significance of nursing documentation in the present human services setting. The significance of documentation Documentation, a vital method for deciding the standard of care rendered to a patient to protect nursing action(nurse together,2010).This concurs with the ANMCs competency standard 1.1 where it expresses that Practices as per enactment influencing nursing practice and medicinal services . Documentation is characterized as anything composed or printed used to outfit proof or data that is lawful or official (Crisp Taylor,2001). With documentation, medical caretakers can unmistakably portray the customer s present well being status and what meditations ought to be done and if the intercessions that were completed profited the customer. Moreover, I will analyze it in terms of Barrett s Theory of Power (Barrett, 2010) and CAREE Process (O Brien Lewis, 2016). In addition, throughout the paper, I will describe my thoughts and feelings regarding meditation and meditative practices for caring healing holistic nursing. The beneficial effect of meditation for people with chronic conditions is also proven by Chan Larson (2015), however, their point of view is that further research on the topic is necessary due to the inconsistency of the results. After examining the multiple research studies, the authors argue that meditation may result in significant improvements in anxiety, depression, and chronic disease symptoms . Furthermore, they state that people with chronic diseases relate more positively with their body, which is resulting in increased activity levels and improved quality of life (Chan Larson, 2015). In some studies, the accent was made on improvement that is achieved in perception or acceptance of a specific symptom when the symptom itself was not changed. Meditation also relieved the manifestations of multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and peripheral neuropathy (Chan Larson, 2015). In addition, this complementary treatment modality has the beneficial effects on attention span, sleep quality and latency, and enhanced well being (Morone, Lynch, Greco, Tindle, Weiner, 2008). Race And Class, Race, And Race This article discusses the thought and preconceived notions that race is the major determining factor of the health outcomes of persons living in Baltimore, an urban area. However, what was found is that the place matters. Furthermore, what I was able to understand in greater depth is that there are deeply rooted racial issues in the United States of America despite the legislation that has been passed to eliminate such issues. In addition, what I was able to dissipate was that the researchers were not able to determine which was more important or prevalent, race or place in seeking to accomplish health equity. In addition, the controversy was is it race and class or race or class . My conclusion is that it is both. Race is unfortunately reflective of where you live. Despite, the Fair Discrimination Act of 1964 and several laws both state and federal to prevent discrimination in housing it still exists. Housing discrimination affects ones access to activities that can decrease chronic illnesses and the access to good healthcare. I have some thoughts concerning this statement Racial segregation creates different exposures to economic opportunity and to other community resources that enhance health . The reason I have questions about this statement is because in the Jim Crow era until the late 1960 s there were several communities of segregated Black populations that did very well economically. For example, Sweet Auburn Avenue in Atlanta, Georgia and Black Wall Street ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Yeah! I see you. Listen up, you NEED to have incredible words to keep people s eyes open! Surely, if someone is dozing off, texting, taking selfies, or doing anything that is on trend, that person is NOT listening. All authors have useful words in their pieces to make sure the reader is enjoying it and not being bored out of their mind. In the stories with a limited word amount, flash fiction, you have to excel in your choice of words to keep your audience reading! Word choice is a main strength that intrigues the reader in the writing pieces, Popular Mechanics by Raymond Carver, and Early Autumn by Langston Hughes. Relationships. They are sentimental, but ... Therefore, the sentences with those depictive words will be remembered and soon after the story will, too. In life, specific words one uses are critical. William Longchamps, bishop of Ely, and chancellor in Richard s stead, took castles and titles away from the men who held them and hand[ed] them over to foreigners and unknown men (31). This shows that the hold he has over the land with the king gone (i.e. clergy could have a firm grasp on the government). The only other person to do this is John (the king s brother), who takes the castles away from the men William assigned and returned them to their rightful castellans. Monks also elected their future bishop without the assistance of the secular clergy (57). This elucidates that the secular clergy generally got involved in the elections of clergymen, possibly putting in their own men for the position, demonstrating that the secular clergy had little to no say in the election, even when they were involved. The secular clergy opposed him [the chosen bishop], the monks obtained him (57). Lastly, the bishop of Chester out of hate for religious orders cast the monks out of Coventry (69).
