Performance Analysis of MIMO-OFDM System Using QOSTBC Code Structure for M-PSKCSCJournals
MIMO-OFDM system has been currently recognized as one of the most competitive technology for 4G mobile wireless systems. MIMO-OFDM system can compensate for the lacks of MIMO systems and give play to the advantages of OFDM system. In this paper, a general Quasi orthogonal space time block code (QOSTBC) structure is proposed for multiple-input multiple-output–orthogonal frequency-division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems for 4X4 antenna configuration. The signal detection technology used in this paper for MIMO-OFDM system is Zero-Forcing Equalization (linear detection technique). In this paper the analysis of high level of modulations (i.e. M-PSK for different values of M) on MIMO-OFDM system is presented. Here AWGN and Rayleigh channels have been used for analysis purpose and their effect on BER for high data rates have been presented. The proposed MIMO-OFDM system with QOSTBC using 4X4 antenna configuration has better performance in terms of BER vs SNR than the other systems.
Reduction of Frequency offset Using Joint Clock for OFDM Based Cellular Syste...IJRST Journal
This project addresses the problem of clock synchronization between a base station (BS) and a mobile station (MS). A conventional technique for clock synchronization is that the MS clock is derived from the downlink signal originated from a base station. In cellular systems, a base station and mobile stations need to be synchronized before data exchange. Since the base station clock reference is more accurate, a mobile station typically derives its clock reference from the base station. But the carrier frequency offset due to Doppler shift may have harmful effects on the local clock derivation. This project proposes a joint clock and frequency synchronization technique between a base station and a mobile station, which is effective even with Doppler shift. We derive the joint estimation algorithm by analyzing the phase and the amplitude distortion caused by the sampling frequency offset and the carrier frequency offset. Simulation results showing the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm will also be presented.

This paper presents the design of Continuous Wave Terahertz photonic transmitters which is composed from photodetector (PD) associated to a wideband antenna, low–pass filter (LPF) and DC Probe. Firstly, we have developed the bow-tie wideband antenna using an EM solver Momentum integrated in ADS “Advanced Design System”. Then we had optimized a low-pass filter which is responsible of blocking the RF signal providing from the antenna to reach the DC probe. And finally, we have validated into simulation the CW THz photonic transmitter. The three structures are based on multi-layers GaAs substrate, which is the most widely used for THz circuit design. The dimensions of the Whole circuit are 776.788 × 303.39 .

PAPR Reduction in OFDM using Active and Non-Active ChannelsIOSR Journals
Abstract : According to the request of advance communication field there should be high data rate in addition to both power efficiency and lower bit error rate. This request of high data rate can be achieved by the multi carrier modulation scheme using the OFDM technique. But the great drawback of the OFDM technique is its high peak to average power ratio (PAPR). High PAPR reduces OFDM signals by driving the analog amplifier to work in the nonlinear region, changing this way the signal and making the amplifier to consume more power. To reduce the PAPR methods exist which adjust or present new signals to battle large signal peaks. The methods which use data carrying channels are called active channel methods and which use redundant channel are called non active channel methods. This work deals with reduction of the PAPR of OFDM signal using both Active and Non Active Channels. Clipping technique has been applied to active channels and Tone reservation has been applied to Non Active Channels. By using both channels we can get considerable reduction in PAPR. Keywords:Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR), Power Amplifier (PA).

Signals, which were initially sent in the analog domain, are being sent more and more in the digital domain these days. For better transmission, even single–carrier waves are being replaced by multi–carriers. Multi-carrier
systems like OFDM are now – a – days being implemented commonly. In the OFDM system,
orthogonally placed subcarriers are used to carry the data from the transmitter end to the receiver end. The presence of a guard band in this system deals with the problem of ISI and noise is minimized by a larger number of sub–carriers. But the large Peak– to –Average Power Ratio of these signal have some undesirable effects on the system. The Peak-to-Average Power Ratio is the ratio between the maximum power and average power of a complex passband signal. It causes many disadvantages like band-in and band-out variation, low signal to quantization noise ratio, low efficiency of power amplifier, etc. Hence, it is necessary to reduce PAPR in OFDM for its efficient use.
In this project, the main objective is to study the basics of an OFDM System and analyze and
simulate various methods such as clipping and filtering, selected mapping, Partial transmit sequence
to reduce the PAPR in the system and compare these techniques with and without PAPR reduction to
obtain an efficient technique so that this system can be used more commonly and effectively.
Performance comparison of two clipping based filtering methods for papr reduc...ijmnct
The growth of wireless communication technologies has been producing the intense demand for high-speed,
efficient, reliable voice & data communication. As a result, third generation partnership project (3GPP)
has implemented next generation wireless communication technology long term evolution (LTE) which is
designed to increase the capacity and speed of existing mobile telephone & data networks. LTE has
adopted a multicarrier transmission technique known as orthogonal frequency division multiplexing
(OFDM). OFDM meets the LTE requirement for spectrum flexibility and enables cost-efficient solutions for
very wide carriers. One major generic problem of OFDM technique is high peak to average power ratio
(PAPR) which is defined as the ratio of the peak power to the average power of the OFDM signal. A
trade-off is necessary for reducing PAPR with increasing bit error rate (BER), computational complexity or
data rate loss etc. In this paper, two clipping based filtering methods have been implemented & also
analyzed their modulation effects on reducing PAPR.
Reducing the Peak to Average Power Ratio of Mimo-Ofdm SystemsIJCNCJournal
In this paper, we proposed a particle swarm optimization (PSO) based partial transmit sequence (PTS)
technique in order to achieve the lowest Peak-to-Average Power Ratio(PAPR) in Multiple Input Multiple
Output- Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems. Our approach consist of
applying the PSO based PTS on each antenna of the system in order to find the optimal phase factors,
which is a straightforward method to get the minimum PAPR in such a system. The simulation results
demonstrate that the PSO based PTS algorithm when applied to MIMO-OFDM systems with a wide range
of phase factors, tends to give a high performance. In addition, there is no need to increase the number of
particles of the PSO algorithm to enhance the performance of the system. As a result of this, the complexity
of finding the minimum PAPR is kept at a reasonable level.
Performance evaluation on the basis of bit error rate for different order of ...ijmnct
Today, we have required to accommodate a large number of users under a single base station. This can be
possible only if we have some flexibility over the spectrum. Previously we have lots of multiplexing methods
to accommodate large number of signals in time and frequency domain. But now we have required to
accommodate a large number of users in the same bandwidth, without any fading over the received signal.
So, orthogonality can be maintained over the frequency response. This technology is now more popular in
the mobile communication domain, called Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM). Actually
user data can be converted into the parallel form and then they are modulated using digital modulation
techniques. Finally, they have followed by OFDM Modulator and cyclic prefix can be inserted into the
OFDM symbols. Here, I have worked on the measurement of Bit error rate for different modulation
techniques in OFDM technology. It has been considered that subchannel size is not constant. According to
that I have concluded the overall idea regarding the performance under OFDM technology.
A low complexity partial transmit sequence scheme for better papr reduction i...eSAT Journals
Abstract The main drawback of OFDM system is the high Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR) of the transmitted signals. Partial transmit sequence scheme is a promising algorithm to reduce the peak-to-average power ratio (PAPR) in orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM). The Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS) consist of several inverse fast Fourier transform (IFFT) operations and complicated calculations to obtain optimum phase sequence which results in increasing the computational complexity of PTS. A phase sequence applied to the PTS Scheme reduces its complexity but at the expense of slight degradation in PAPR reduction. In this paper, for further reduction of PAPR the peak clipping of the OFDM signal is introduced along with the PTS with new phase sequence scheme. Since clipping is one of the simplest techniques of PAPR reduction, it does not increase the complexity of the system much and a better PAPR reduction is obtained with the combined effect of clipping and PTS with New Phase Sequence. But the clipping technique introduce some distortion in the signal, however peak clipping of signal below a particular threshold can maintain the BER in the tolerable range. The clipping threshold selected will be different for different OFDM systems. Index Terms: OFDM, Peak to Average Power Ratio (PAPR), Partial Transmit Sequence (PTS), Clipping.

This paper is concerned with the performance improvement of PAPR reduction of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) signal using amplitude clipping & filtering based design. Note that OFDM is one of the well adept multi-carrier multiplexing transmission scheme which has been implemented in long term evolution (LTE) downlink. Nonetheless peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is the more rattling problem with OFDM, consequently in this paper a reduction procedure of the PAPR by using amplitude clipping and filtering is proposed. Here we used IIR bandpass elliptic filter after amplitude clipping to
reduce the PAPR. The performance of the system in terms of bit error rate (BER) is also canvased as a new
filter based clipping method. Our results show that the proposed methodology of clipping method with the
IIR elliptic band pass filter significantly reduces the PAPR value.

Effects of filtering on ber performance of an ofdm systemeSAT Journals
Abstract In upcoming generations, wireless communication system requires a higher standard in order to provide high quality of services to customers. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is an efficient modulation technique of forthcoming wireless systems which can be implemented easily. In this paper, an effort has been made to analyze how well an OFDM system can perform when a signal is transmitted over an Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) channel using 16 QAM modulation techniques. The performance of OFDM system with pulse shaping filters are also evaluated and results reveal that the pulse shaped OFDM improve the overall performance of the system in terms of BER. We use Different pulse shaping filters such asRaised cosine, FIR Nyquist and SQRT Raised Cosine for analyzingthe Bit Error Rate (BER) performance. Index Terms: AWGN, ICI, OFDM, Bit Error Rate.

The main features of OFDM technique are that it can easily acclimate to severe channel conditions without complex time-domain equalization and is vigorous against Intersymbol Interference (ISI) and fading caused by multipath propagation. But the OFDM system faces the problem of PAPR i.e. Peak to Average Power Ratio. This PAPR effect is tried to be reduced using a combined technique which makes use of clipping and filtering technique along with companding technique. The simulation results show us that the PAPR value reduces to 4.41dB with a value of 128 subcarriers. Earlier used approaches for PAPR reduction were SLM, PTS, Tone reservation etc. The proposed approach shows that PAPR effect is tried to be reduced to a great extent.

COMPARISON OF BER AND NUMBER OF ERRORS WITH DIFFERENT MODULATION TECHNIQUES I...Sukhvinder Singh Malik
This paper provides analysis of BER and Number of Errors for MIMO-OFDM wireless communication system by using different modulation techniques. Wireless designers constantly seek to improve the spectrum efficiency/capacity, coverage of wireless networks, and link reliability. So the performances of the wireless communication systems can be enhanced by using multiple transmit and receive antennas, which is generally referred to as the MIMO technique. Here analysis will be carried out for an OFDM wireless communication system using different modulation techniques and considering the effect and the wireless channel like AWGN, fading. Performance results will be evaluated numerically and graphically using the plots of BER versus SNR and plots of number of errors versus SNR.

Performance Evaluation of PAPR Reduction with SER and BER by Modified Clippin...ijcsse
This paper work focuses on performance analysis of PAPR reduction of orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) using amplitude clipping & filtering based design. Now a days one of the most proficient multi-carrier transmission techniques widely used today is orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) which has been implemented by the next generation wireless communication technology: Long Term Evolution (LTE). Extra robustness to multipath fading and impulse noise is provided OFDM. It eliminates inter symbol interference (ISI) & inter carrier interference (ICI) with certain procedure. Therefore peak to average power ratio (PAPR) is the basic problem with OFDM. However in this paper we proposed a reduction procedure of the PAPR by using clipping and filtering. Here we use a composed high pass , low pass & Chevyshev band pass filter II after amplitude clipping to reduce the PAPR. The performance of the system in terms of bit error rate (BER) and symbol error rate (SER) is also investigated as a new filter based clipping method is proposed. Our proposed clipping method with and composed high pass the Chevyshev bandpass filter II in PAPR performance of the system with a little compromise of BER & SER showing the significant improvement in Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM).
Performance Analsis of Clipping Technique for Papr Reduction of MB-OFDM UWB S...ijcisjournal
Multiband Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (MB-OFDM) is used as efficacious procedure for
ultra-wideband (UWB) wireless communication applications, which divides the spectrum into various subbands,
whose bandwidth is approximately 500MHz. Major arduousness in multiband-OFDM is ,it have
very large peak to average power ratio value which causes the signal to enter into dynamic region that
consequence in the loss of orthogonal properties and results in the interference of the carrier signals which
crops the amplifier saturation and finally limits the capacity of the system. Many PAPR amortize
algorithms have reported in the survey and pre-coding is PAPR reduction which is inserted after
modulation in the OFDM system. The Existing work presents the reduction of that value by different
clipping techniques namely Classical-Clipping (CC), Heavy side-Clipping (HC), Deep-Clipping (DC) and
Smooth-Clipping (SC) and their comparison analysis is done. Every clipping method is best at its own
level .The proficiency of these strategies are evaluated in locutions of average power disparity, complete
system decadence and PAPR reduction. Finally results show the MB OFDM yields better performance to
reduce PAPR in effective way.
BER Analysis of OFDM Systems with Varying Frequency Offset Factor over AWGN a...rahulmonikasharma
The progressively escalating demand for tremendously high rate data transmission over wireless mediums needsresourcefulconcord of electromagnetic resources considering restrictions like power incorporation, spectrum proficiency, robustness in disparity to multipath propagation and implementation complication. Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a favorable approach for upcoming generation wireless communication systems. However its susceptibility to the frequency offset triggered by frequency difference between local oscillator of transmitter and receiver or due to Doppler shift results to Inter Carrier Interference. This delinquent of ICI results inworsening performance of the wireless systems as bit error rate increaseswith increase in value of frequency offset. In this paper simulation results aredemonstratedfor analyzing the effect of varying frequency offset factor on system’s error rate performance.
Peak detection using wavelet transformIJCNCJournal
A new work based-wavelet transform is designed to overcome one of the main drawbacks that found in the
present new technologies. Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM)is proposed in the
literature to enhance the multimedia resolution. However, the high peak power (PAPR) values will obstruct
such achievements. Therefore, a new proposition is found in this work, making use of the wavelet
transforms methods, and it is divided into three main stages; de-noising stage, thresholding stage and then
the replacement stage.
In order to check the system stages validity; a mathematical model has been built and its checked after
using a MATLAB simulation. A simulated bit error rate (BER) achievement will be compared with our
previously published work, where an enhancement from 8×10-1 to be 5×10-1 is achieved. Moreover, these
results will be compared to the work found in the literature, where we have accomplished around 27%
PAPR extra reduction.
As a result, the BER performance has been improved for the same bandwidth occupancy. Moreover and
due to the de-noise stage, the verification rate has been improved to reach 81%. This is in addition to the
noise immunity enhancement.
Comparative evaluation of bit error rate for different ofdm subcarriers in ra...ijmnct
In the present situation, the expectation about the quality of signals in wireless communication is as high as possible. This quality issue is dependent upon the different communication parameters. One of the most important issues is to reduce the bit error rate (BER) to enhance the performance of the system. This paper provides a comparative analysis on the basis of this bit error rate. I have compared the BER for different number of subcarriers in OFDM system for BPSK modulation scheme. I have taken 6 varieties of data subcarriers to analyze this comparison. Here my target is to reach at the lowest level of BER for BPSK modulation. That is achieved at 2048 number of subcarriers.
Channel Estimation Techniques in MIMO-OFDM LTE SystemsCauses and Effects of C...IJERA Editor
There is an increasing demand for high data transmission rates with the evolution of the very large scale integration (VLSI) technology. The multiple input multiple output-orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (MIMO-OFDM) systems are used to fulfill these requirements because of their unique properties such as high spectral efficiency, high data rate and resistance towards multipath propagation. MIMO-OFDM systems are finding their applications in the modern wireless communication systems like IEEE 802.11n, 4G and LTE. They also offer reliable communication with the increased coverage area. The bottleneck to the MIMO-OFDM systems is the estimation of the channel state information (CSI). This can be estimated with the help of any one of the Training Based, Semiblind and Blind Channel estimation algorithms. This paper presents various channel estimation algorithms, optimization techniques and their effective utilization in MIMO-OFDM for modern wireless LTE systems.

Performance Analysis of a SIMO-OFDM System Using Different Diversity Combinin...theijes
The motive of any wireless communication system is to reduce BER for the corresponding SNR. Through this OFDM based receiver diversity system we analyze BER for different diversity combining techniques such as EGC, MRC, SC in a rayliegh faded environment. This model serves two benefits: first noise limited system performance is improved by combating ISI through OFDM and second use of diversity combining which helps combat multipath fading. We also try to achieve an optimum trade-off between BER improvement and increase in number of receiver antennas. This is just to make less-complex receiver as it requires only one DFT processor.
Abstract: The growing demand on wireless communication service has created the necessity to support higher data rates for multimedia services. .As next generation wireless communication networks are expected to provide broadband multimedia services such as voice, web browsing, video conferencing etc. For high data rate achievement one must enhance the capacity of the wireless communication system. The capacity of a communication system can be enhanced by using OFDM system. OFDM is commonly used for communication system due to its high transmission rate and robustness against multipath fading So as to enhance the capacity of fading channels the OFDM system are combined to form hybrid system. Capacity is the measure of maximum information that can be transmitted reliably over a channel. This paper review on different channel capacity enhancement techniques used in OFDM system is SVD (Singular Value Decomposition), water Filling algorithm.
Classical Discrete-Time Fourier TransformBased Channel Estimation for MIMO-OF...IJCSEA Journal
In this document, we look at various time domain channel estimation methods with this constraint of null carriers at spectrumborders. We showin detail howto gauge the importance of the “border effect” depending on the number of null carriers, which may vary from one system to another. Thereby we assess the limit of the technique discussed when the number of null carriers is large. Finally the DFT with the truncated singular value decomposition (SVD) technique is proposed to completely eliminate the impact of the null subcarriers whatever their number. A technique for the determination of the truncation threshold for any MIMO-OFDM system is also proposed.
A NEW APPROACH TO IMPROVE THE PERFORMANCE OF OFDM SIGNAL FOR 6G COMMUNICATIONIJCNCJournal
The orthogonal frequency division multiplexing is a very efficient modulation technique that can achieve
very high throughput by transmitting many carriers simultaneously and it is spectrally efficient because of
the proximity of the subcarriers. OFDM is used in 5G communication for higher data transmission. 6th
generation communication also demands OFDM, since it is more spectrally efficient and suitable for high
data transmission. The drawback of the OFDM includes peak to average power ratio and sensitivity to
carrier offsets and drifts. The usage of a non-linear power amplifier causes the signal spreading and leads
to inter-modulation and signal constellation distortion. These two distortions have an impact on the signalto-noise ratio and hence reduce the efficiency. The methods used to reduce PAPR are clipping and
filtering, selective mapping, partial transmit sequence, tone reservation, and injection and non-linear
commanding. The drawbacks of the above methods are computational complexity, spectrum inefficiency,
increase in bit error rate and PAPR rate. In this work, three effective methods are discussed and compared
to improve the performance parameters. These are adaptive peak window method based on harmonize
clipping, harmonics kernel adaptive filter and Slepian-based flat-top window techniques are presented to
reduce the BER, PAPR, and CCDF to improve the signal-to-noise of the system. This window technique
averages out the noise spread out in the spectrum and thus reduces the signal loss by minimizing peak to
average power ratio. The results are analyzed and compared with the existing conventional methods.
Finally, the reductions in PAPR, BER and CCDF obtained are discussed in the results and comparison
section. The proposed work has a higher signal-to-noise ratio than the conventional methods.

BER PERFORMANCE OF OFDM WITH DISCRETE WAVELET TRANSFORM FOR TIME DISPERSIVE CHANNEL Kavita Trivedi1, Anshu Khare2, Saurabh Dixit3 1Department of Electronics and communication, Lucknow, India 2Department of Electronics and communication, Lucknow, India 3Department of Electronics and communication, Lucknow, India Abstract This paper presents a model which is discrete wavelet transform based (orthogonal frequency division multiplexing) OFDM system for next generation wireless communication. Fourier transform based OFDM system signals only overlap in the frequency domain while the wavelet transform signals overlap both in the time and frequency domain so there is no need of the cyclic prefix(CP) in the proposed model. There are different types of wavelet transform are available .the performance of the wavelet based OFDM system using modulation QAM was assessed by various parameters such as Bit error rate and constellation diagram. In OFDM inter symbol interference and the inter carrier interference exist. Due to the multipath wireless channel. wavelet based transmission is investigated and its shown that this technique is better at suppressing ISI and ICI than conventional OFDM. the results presented in this paper are based on computer simulation performed using MATLAB software. -------------------------------------------------------------------***---------------------------------------------------------------------- 1. INTRODUCTION Wavelet represent a successful story of the last decades in signal processing application. Thus these signals, with some remarkable properties ,are widely used in various domain as compression ,denoising segmentation by the other hand in data communication the some successful story can be assigned to multi carrier modulation on techniques .most of the data transmission systems now a days use orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM).we can mention here WiFi(IEEE 802.11),WiMAX(IEEE 802.16).It is especially the very good resilience of OFDM.OFDM system is a multicarrier system which process signals to be transmitted in parallel at different frequencies simultaneously. the system employs quad intervals or cyclic prefix (CP) so that the delay spread of the channel becomes longer than the channel impulse response. many researchers have investigated the use of wavelet based to replace fourier based OFDM and found out that the wavelet based has more advantages than fourier based OFDM because in OFDM some drawbacks can be counteracted ,thus the side lobes of the OFDM spectrum contain an important amount of energy causing interference in the adjacent bands. in the orthogonality of the wavelet carrier relies on both their time position and their frequency .this make the transmission less sensitive to doppler and leading to noticeable BER improvements. In the next section we will discuss the fourier based OFDM, in section 3 wavelet based OFDM, in section 4 simulation results are presented and commented last section is dedicated to some conclusions.

4.3 Comparison of FFT based OFDM with DWT – OFDM System over the AWGN Channel
Fig-6 BER BPSK over AWGN channel The following fig3 BPSK over AWGN channel indicates that a SNR =4dB the BER performance is 10^-2 and at SNR =8 dB the BER performance isnearly equal to 10^-4 in DWT OFDM system which is less than FFT –OFDM system. 5. CONCLUSIONS The OFDM system implemented with wavelet transform gives better spectrum efficiency.the main disadvantages of the conventional FFT based OFDM system is the addition of cyclic prefix to remove the ISI and ICI.in DWT based OFDM system,IFFT and FFT have been replaced by IDWT and DWT wavelet transform maintain the orthogonality.so no need to add cyclic prefix in DWT based OFDM system. The BER performance of the FFT based OFDM systems can be found over AWGN channel using the BPSK modulation .from the plots of the BER as a function of the signal to noise ratio(SNR),it can be concluded that when the signals to noise ration(SNR) is very low and the does not have any impact on the BER but if the SNR is vry high it highly effect the BER performance n DWT based OFDM system the performance of BER is less effected by the SNR but in the FFT based OFDM the performance highly effected .so it concluded that DWT performance better than the FFT based OFDM system.
