The Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE) is an exam administered by the GATE Committee on behalf of the MHRD. It is used for admissions to postgraduate programs in IITs, IISc, and other institutes. Scores are also used for recruitment by PSUs. The exam tests comprehension in undergraduate engineering subjects. Scores are valid for 3 years. The GATE paper contains both multiple choice and numerical answer questions over 3 hours. It is used for MTech admissions, scholarships, and recruitment by engineering companies and research organizations.
This document describes a proposed system for automatically detecting faults on railway tracks using wireless network systems. The proposed system uses ultrasonic sensors to monitor the tracks for cracks and obstacles. When a fault is detected, the sensor information is transmitted wirelessly through modules to authorities. This allows for easy, real-time surveying of tracks with less delay compared to existing systems. The goal is to avoid accidents and safeguard passengers by quickly detecting any track issues or problems.

The focus of the Indian Railways is to increase capacity utilization of existing assets including rolling stock, track infrastructure, traction power and signalling & telecommunications. By running more high speed trains on the existing infrastructure, passengers and freight carrying capacity as well as revenue and profitability can be increased. In order to ensure safety over high speed and high density rail networks of Indian Railways it is the need of the hour to implement Automatic Train Protection (ATP) system such as Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS). Indian Railways have taken up indigenous development of Train Collision Avoidance System (TCAS) through Research Designs & Standards Organization (RDSO) to prevent dangerous train collisions caused due to human errors or limitations and equipment failures by providing additional layer of enhanced safety in the operations.

Here are the key points about XHTML:
- XHTML is an XML (Extensible Markup Language) application. XML is a stricter, more structured version of HTML.
- XHTML documents must follow strict syntax rules. For example, all elements must be closed properly, elements must be nested correctly, and elements must be in lowercase.
- XHTML is designed to be displayed in web browsers the same way as HTML, but it can also be run through XML parsers. This makes XHTML documents both human- and machine-readable.
- XHTML documents are also stricter about following standards. For example, all elements must have a closing tag, empty elements must be closed with a slash, and elements cannot overlap.

Abstract Automatic Control of Railway Gatesvishnu murthy
The document describes an automatic control system for railway gates at level crossings. It uses infrared sensors to detect arriving and departing trains and control opening and closing gates via a motor. When the first IR sensor detects a train, traffic signals turn yellow and a buzzer activates. When the second sensor detects the train, signals turn red and the motor closes the gates. The gates reopen when the third sensor detects the train has passed. The system prevents accidents by automating gate operations instead of relying on human gatekeepers. It also uses additional sensors to detect obstacles on the tracks that could prevent gate closure.

Backed by strong fundamentals and commendable growth in the past three to four years, the resplendent Indian Economy is poised to grow even further at an average of 8 to 10% in the next 3 years.
Transport requirement in the country, being primarily a derived demand, is slated to increase with elasticity of 1.25 with GDP growth by 10 to 12% in the medium and long term range. Riding on the waves of economic success, Indian Railways has witnessed a dramatic turn around and unprecedented financial turnover in the last two and a half years. This has been made possible by higher freight volumes without substantial investment in infrastructure, increased axle load, reduction of turn-round time of rolling stock, reduced unit cost of transportation, rationalization of tariffs resulting in improvement in market share and improved operational margins. Over the last 2 to 3 years, the railway freight traffic has grown by 8 to 11%, which is projected to cross 1100 million tonnes by the end of 11th Five Year Plan.

The document discusses capacitance on transmission lines. It explains that capacitance occurs between parallel conductors due to potential differences, similar to capacitor plates, and depends on conductor size and spacing. For short power lines under 80km, capacitance is minor but becomes important for longer, higher voltage lines. It then examines the capacitance of three-phase lines with both equilateral and unsymmetrical conductor spacing, noting calculations are simpler if the line is transposed so each conductor occupies the same positions over cycles.
This document discusses single phase to single phase converters. It provides information on cycloconverters, including what they are, where they were first applied, their operating modes, types, circuit diagrams, analysis using resistive and inductive loads, configurations, applications, advantages, and limitations. Cycloconverters convert AC power to another AC output without an intermediate DC stage by synthesizing the output waveform from segments of the AC input. They were initially used in Germany to convert 3-phase 50Hz power to single phase for rail traction.

A review on techniques and modelling methodologies used for checking electrom...nooriasukmaningtyas
The proper function of the integrated circuit (IC) in an inhibiting electromagnetic environment has always been a serious concern throughout the decades of revolution in the world of electronics, from disjunct devices to today’s integrated circuit technology, where billions of transistors are combined on a single chip. The automotive industry and smart vehicles in particular, are confronting design issues such as being prone to electromagnetic interference (EMI). Electronic control devices calculate incorrect outputs because of EMI and sensors give misleading values which can prove fatal in case of automotives. In this paper, the authors have non exhaustively tried to review research work concerned with the investigation of EMI in ICs and prediction of this EMI using various modelling methodologies and measurement setups.
