This lesson plan targets a first grade classroom of 17 students, most of whom are African American or Hispanic and several have ADHD. The lesson uses interactive methods like singing, acting, and outdoor activities to teach the months of the year in an engaging way and accommodate different learning styles. These methods are aimed to keep students focused and successfully learn the material.

1. A- My audience is made up of African American and Hispanic students, several of which
suffer from ADHD. This is a first grade, co-ed classroom.
S-My special education, 1st grade class, made up of seven girls and ten boys (AfricanAmerican and 10% Hispanic, several with ADHD) will be learning the months of the year
with a 95% success rate. Because students have difficulties focusing on learning and
their environment, they will be participating in activities that keep them focused and
engaged. These activities include singing songs, taking sensory walks when the
weather changes, and acting out their favorite activities for each season.
S- Some of the methods used in my lesson include acting out scenes, singing, and
learning outside of the classroom. For these methods I will use nature, background
music to sing along with, and students' imaginations.
U-The material will be utilized by providing fun and interactive learning opportunities that
are centered around the students.
R- Each activity included in this lesson requires all students to participate. All are
focused on three different learning styles which gives each individual student a chance
to excel and participate with confidence.
E-The lesson is effective and each material works well.
