My classroom of 17 students, with a variety of ethnic backgrounds and two students with ADHD, will learn about money over the course of a week through songs, activities, videos and projects. The objectives are for the students to understand the history and diversity of money, and be able to count money and make change. A variety of teaching methods like singing, group work and videos will be used, along with materials like a smart board, YouTube and PowerPoint. Students will be engaged through reviewing songs and videos, learning about coins, and be required to participate in discussions. Their understanding will be evaluated during the singing and through listening comprehension.
