Student Misconduct
Why is it necessary for a university to establish a code of conduct? The University of Florida s answer
is in the following quote, The University of Florida is an institution which encourages the intellectual
and personal growth of its students as scholars and citizens. As an educational institution, the
University recognizes that the transmission of knowledge, the pursuit of truth, and the development of
individuals require the free exchange of ideas, self expression, and the challenging of beliefs and
customs. In order to maintain an environment where these goals can be achieved safely and equitably,
the University promotes civility, respect, and integrity among all members of the community. As
stated in the Standard of Ethical Conduct, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That also means it has become even easier to discover when others are using someone else s work in
their documents and to verify whether they are properly citing where the source material came from. It
is a far less risky option to make the extra effort of giving credit where it is due. This activity is a
direct violation of the University Of Phoenix Code Of Conduct/Code of Academic Integrity. B. Martin
sums it up nicely in the Journal of Information Ethics: plagiarism is much more common among both
students and scholars than usually recognized and it is a serious offense against scholarships and
should be condemned and penalized.
How do you catch a cheating student participating in an online environment? As defined in the
University of Phoenix 2007 2008 Online Master Catalog, cheating is using or attempting to use
unauthorized materials, information, or study aids in any academic exercise (University). However,
without physically interfacing with the student, how does a teacher ensure a student is turning in
assignments that are homegrown within the mind of the writer? With the advent of the internet,
information is rampant and often unchecked for credibility. In the same instance, it is a Mecca of
information potentially influencing the personal education of billions. Coupling the internet with an
online academic environment, there is a potential for cheating. Students are less likely to cheat if they
are educated, monitored

Quality Control Procedure Manual
Chapter 1: INTRODUCTION TO THE PROJECT
1. Significance of the Study
Siemens is a global leader when it comes to engineering sector. It manufactures almost all the heavy
electrical devices such as from transformer to miniature circuit breaker. Siemens is well known for its
stringent quality norms. It has been successful to differentiate itself from the competitors on grounds
of quality. Project aimed at compiling a new quality control procedure manual from the existing
manuals such as Site manual, quality manual, safety manual. So that the new manual formed would be
in accordance with the international quality standards such as ISO 9001 OSHAS18001.

Is Antigone A Tragic Hero In Action
Greek tragedies would not be complete without a tragic hero. A tragic hero tends to be the protagonist
of a tragedy who had the potential of greatness but is destined to some type of downfall. This is due to
a major flaw called hamartia. In Antigone by Sophocles, we see a perfect representation of tragic hero
in action. The play is the last of a trilogy by Sophocles, whom two brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices
fight for the throne but sadly both kill each other. Creon, the uncle and new ruler decides to bury
Eteocles and not Polyneices. This creates tension in the play because one of her nieces, Antigone, is
Polyneices sister. The play starts off with Antigone discussing about her plan to bury Polyneices,
however Ismene does not agree with Antigone.

Rough, hilly terrain fills the area in which Gorkha is situated, making transport and construction just a
little more difficult compared with the flat plains which remain in other areas of Nepal (Raaz, 2014).
There are a few known geographical landmarks including; Gorkha Bazaar, Gorkha Durbar and

Giving Back To A Community Analysis
As someone who strongly believes in the value of community, giving back is the least I can do. From
an early age, I was taught that giving back to others is one of the greatest joys in life. When I was a
child, my parents and I made care packages of cooked food and fruits and vegetables and delivered
them to people who were in desperate need in a slum of Tehran. Seeing their smiles and eagerness to
reach those packages was both the best and the worst feeling of my life. I made me happy that I could
bring smiles to their faces and maybe a little bit of hope to some families, but I was saddened as I
witnessed the tragic lives of so many people. Poverty is a challenge that faces many, but it is hard to
understand why when other people have so

Why The Iranian Revolution Occur During A Time Of National...
Identification and Evaluation of Sources:
This investigation will answer the question, what caused the Iranian revolution to occur during a time
of national progress and prosperity? This question is important because the Iranian revolution baffled
the rest of the world, as nobody expected a newly progressive and economically stable nation as Iran
to have its government overthrown. The scope of this investigation is the events throughout the 20th
century that put the family of monarch Mohammad Reza Pahlavi into power and the family s fall from
power, but more focused on the latter. It s important to see how the Pahlavi family rose to power to
understand the condition of the monarchy and what changed between the reigns of the different ...

It is however limited in that it is translated from Turkish and has a number of phrases that require
personal interpretation and therefore need to be assessed by other sources. The piece goes over the
conflict between the current Shah, Mohammed Reza Pahlavi, and the leader of the revolution
Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini. It also discusses how Ayatollah Khomeini s followers actually opposed
each other, but opposed the Shah more. It also explains how the Shah s progressive attitude offended
some for being too progressive, and some for not being progressive enough. This resulted in another
conflict upon the abdication of the Shah, as to what the republic of Iran should be. In the end, Ayatolla
Khomeini was declared Supreme Leader for life.

Investigation:
It s important to understand the background of how the Pahlavi family came into power. In the early
19th century, Iran was undergoing its Constitutional Revolution. The Shah at the time, Muzaffar al
Din Shah, was near death, and decided to allow the revolution. A constitution was written, and a new
Shah, Mohammad Ali Shah, succeeded Muzaffar al Din Shah (Balaghi). The new constitution
organized a parliament which was quickly corrupted by Mohammad Ali Shah, in turn leading to
another revolution in favor of his eleven year old son, Ahmad Shah Qajar, who was ineffective as a
ruler and left a hole of power. This is when Reza Shah

Technology Of Health And Fitness
With the use of wearables such as smart watches, more specifically the Apple Watch, the potential for
innovation in the realm of health and fitness is unlimited. As more and more customers move to
wearables, data collection becomes ever more robust. As the Apple Watch and other smart watches
become part of everyday life for

consumers, health and fitness technology continues to advance and offer more for capability for
consumers. While our pulse and body movements tell the watch how hard we re working out, there are
many other features to look forward to. For one, medical alerts would help users know when their
blood sugar is low and if they need to seek medical treatment for an irregular heartbeat. In other
words, smart watches will get a lot smarter in the years to come, maybe even scheduling or calling the
hospital for us. Yet another fantastic step would be to partner with fitness companies such as LA
Fitness, Soul Cycle or Planet Fitness to create apps where members can keep track of their workouts,
sign up for classes and receive membership notifications. The app offering would provide a feeling of
motivation and exclusivity for smartwatch owners. These wearables already are, and are continuing to
be, one of the most powerful tools for progressing medicine from reactive to preventative healthcare.

Thomas Aquina s vs. Descarates Essays
THOMAS AQUINA S V. DESCARATES Meditation III Several hundred years ago, two great
philosophers Thomas Aquinas s and Rene Descartes used the method of ontological argument for the
existence of God and used intuition and reason alone to get to each other s theory. Rene Descartes
wrote out several mediations, but the one we re going to touch base on is meditation III that he wrote
in the 1600 s; While Thomas Aquinas s wrote his five proofs of God in 1270 that specifies God s
existence in each proof; the one that gives the best argument is the existence of God in his III proof.
While both philosophers provide great information about their reason about God, Thomas Aquinas s
and Rene Descartes both attempt to prove the existence of God, but ... Show more content on

Than there has to be something that already existed to make everything exist and for that to happen
that had to be someone, so that is God. Aquinas also pointed one in one of his earlier proofs of the
First Mover. Aquinas says that anything moved is moved by another, so there must be a first mover (a
mover that is not itself moved by another) and that first mover is God. Both of the philosophers used
great methods to come to their conclusion about how god came into existence. They both used
different thinking methods to get to their well respected arguments but did come to the conclusion that
God does exist . I believe the key difference about the two philosophers was the time difference
between the philosophers, Thomas Aquinas wrote his proofs in the medieval ages around the 1200 s
while ( with no disrespect) Rene Descartes wrote his meditation in the 1600 s. There is a big 400 year
gap between ideas are compared but that came down to the same conclusion So in the end, Thomas
Aquinas and Rene Descartes both attempted to prove the existence of God, but they differ in respect to
the different thought processes to obtain the existence of God. An still to this day both Philosophers
are regarded as key factor in the world of philosophy and their arguments were so influential that they
were able to land a spot in our textbook THE GREAT CONVERSATION . But thanks to these

Zachary Taylor Inaugural Address
Zachary Taylor became the 12th president of the United States in 1849. He served in office for until
1850, 16 months after becoming president, since he died in office from a gastrointestinal condition
(Editors). Taylor was a great nominee for president because he appealed to the North and the South.
The North respected his long military history, while in the South, he was popular for owning slaves.
The reason for the Inaugural Address is for the new president to establish what he believes in and the
tasks he will complete for the country. The dialect of President Taylor s Inaugural Address is simple,
since he was not the best student. Instead of going into law and furthering his education, he chose to
go into the military.

Zachary Taylor refers to President George Washington multiple times. He alludes to Washington s
farewell address when he states how Washington wanted us to abstain from entangling alliances with
foreign nations. Washington was also mentioned as the Father of his Country. He sees Washington as a
patriot and a role model. Taylor would see Washington as a role model since he is known as a national
war hero for his battles in the Mexican War (Editors).
President Taylor only alludes to God once at the end of his speech. This is different from the founding
presidents because their speeches mentioned God numerous times. Zachary Taylor s short presidency
foreshadowed the Civil War. In February of 1850, Southern leaders threatened secession and Taylor s
response was that it was an act of rebellion against the Union, he would hang ... with less reluctance

Malaria In Kenya Essay
In Kenya, an African country that is affected by Plasmodium falciparum, the most aggressive of the
four species of malaria, the negative economic impact of malaria can be clearly seen. Malaria related
GDP losses reached 2 6% of the total economic output of the country, with 58% of those losses being
in the agricultural sector and 7% in the industrial sector (Chima, 2003). When workers or their
children contract malaria, they are unable to go to work, work effectively, or spend money on things
other than treatment (Chima, 2003). In other words, malaria acts as a drain on both the productivity of
a country, as often there is no other person available to take the place of the absent worker.
Furthermore, the costs of finding alternates to replace workers who have fallen ill, or must take care of
their children is placed squarely on the shoulders of businesses, while the individual who contracted
malaria, or must care for someone who has malaria is unable to both earn money for their absent days,
as well as spend money in areas other than the treatment of malaria, thus stimulation only a small
portion of the economy, and effectively blocking the circulation of funds in the economy to their
fullest extent (Chima, 2003).
Moreover, when examining the intersection between the medical impacts of malaria on the human and
the social consequences, a vicious cycle is revealed in which the body, the community, and the
economy are all similarly impacted by the presence of malaria in a

The Life Of Samuel Johnson
The Life of Samuel Johnson It was in London on 16 May 1763 when James Boswell first met Dr.
Samuel Johnson his future best friend and his main character of his book Life of Samuel Johnson at

London. Biographical story unfolds the heroic image of Samuel Johnson whose moral wisdom is won
through the constant struggle with despair. Glorious Revolution of 1688 solidly settled a Protestant

Postnatal Depression ( Pnd ) Essay
Postnatal depression (PND) is an isolating and debilitating mental health disorder that effects an
estimated 13 15% of new mothers within one year post delivery (CDC, 2008; Gaynes et al., 2005).
PND can be experienced as a vast array of symptoms such as anhedonia, excessive crying, mixed
anxious mood, sleep disturbance, and even suicidality (Kantrowitz Gordon, 2013). Further, mothers
with PND typically report difficulty bonding with their infant and a reduced ability to express love
and warmth (Letourneau et al., 2012; Paulson, Dauber Leiferman, 2006). Occasionally, the mother has
thoughts and images associated with hurting herself or her baby (NEED REFERENCE). Women who
experience PND may experience confusion and shame, as their experience is contrary to the ascribed
social role of motherhood which depicts an effortless, natural experience expected to bring joy.
Qualitative research suggests that women with PND universally report fear of stigma, especially the
stigma of being labeled a bad mother. This fear can lead to denial of symptoms and avoidance of help
seeking behavior (Bilszta, Ericksen, Buist, Milgrom, 2008). Women are even reluctant to disclose
distress to significant others and family members (Bilszta et al., 2008). Further, women seem to have
minimal accurate education about PND and when to seek medical services (Bilszta et al., 2008).
Women with PND are at risk and vulnerable to experiencing both social and self stigmatization.

Drug Abuse And Addiction Have Negative Consequences For...
Drug abuse and addiction have negative consequences for individuals and for society ( DrugFacts:
Understanding Drug Abuse and Addiction | National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), n.d.). Whether
it is illegal substances or it is prescription over use, drug addiction can affect the 18 year old college
student or the 70 year old grandmother. Even though drug addiction is still a growing and constant
problem each model is fighting to get this problem under control. In this paper we will discuss how
each of the models address this issue. We will also discuss the strengths and weaknesses of how each
model is addressing the problem. Directly following the above we will examine detoxification centers
and Narcotics Anonymous and how they are helping to fight the battle against drug addiction. First let
s look at how the medical model address addiction.
People often look at drug addiction as something that can be avoided they may think that people
become addicted because they have poor self control or because they lack morals. This is sadly not the
case. Addiction is a disease that is treatable but not curable ( DrugFacts: Understanding Drug Abuse

be treated not only for the present symptoms but for the long term effects as well. A medical model,

2.2 Shell and Tube Heat Exchanger
Shell and tube heat exchangers are probably the most widespread and commonly used basic heat
exchanger configuration used in the process industries. This is because shell and tube heat exchanger
provides a larger ratio of heat transfer area to volume and weight. Its provide this surface in a form
which is relatively easy to construct in a wide range of size and which is mechanically rugged enough
to withstand normal shop fabrication stresses, shipping and field erection stresses, and normal
operating conditions. Moreover there are many medication of the basic configuration is available to
solve special problems. Those components that most subject to failure (gaskets and tubes) can be
easily replaced and cleaned. Finally, good design methods exist and the expertise and shop facilities

A Child Called It by Dave Pelzer Essay
The book I read is called A Child Called It. It is written by Dave Pelzer. The theme of this book is to
keep hope alive. You should have faith and dreams to have something to look forward to in your

she would make a gas out of ammonia and Clorox in the bathroom and lock him in there for hours.
The climax of the story is when people at school start noticing cuts and bruises on David. When a

He said this time was the most depressing period of his life. He despised not being able to use his own

executives gave him the job of being the conceptual artist for the film The Black Cauldron. Even
though he drew many things for the film, Disney never used any of his drawings. But Burton s talent
didn t go unnoticed. In 1982, Disney allowed him to do his own project. He created a short stop
motion film called Vincent based off of a poem he wrote as a child. After his film was created, he was
inspired again to make a film called Frankenweenie. Warner Bros. studio saw this film and decided
that Burton would be a great director for their movie Pee Wee s Big Adventure. This movie made him
soon rise to stardom. Although Pee Wee s Big Adventure opened the door for his career, BeetleJuice
made his name in business. The film also marked his first professional association with comic actor
Michael Keaton, which made his views go up even faster than before ( Tim Burton 3). After a few
movies, Warner Bros. decided to let Burton direct their movie Batman. He enjoyed working on the
movie, but after it was finished, he left Warner Bros. and went to create another one of his movies
with Twentieth Century Fox. There, he created his film Edward Scissorhands. It was his most original

Cell Phone Polling
In the 2012 United States presidential election, many pre election polls believed that Mitt Romney
would win, even by just a small margin. However, Barack Obama won the election easily, with a win
by about five million votes (The Week Staff). Obama s victory upset many Americans, mainly the
Republican party and those supporting it. A few factors came into play that made polling inconsistent
and incorrect in this election. The growth of cell phones caused automatic calling to fail to reach many
people. Also, the decrease in response rate caused less accurate polls for representing a whole.
However, some methods may help combat these issues, such as calling more. Polling became less

In the late 1970s, an 80 percent response rate was acceptable, but people taking the polls still feared
over inaccurate results (Zukin). Now, that fell to about nine percent in 2012 (DeSilver and Keeter) and
even to eight percent in 2014 (Zukin). Some of the causes for the low turnout include people being
harder to contact, people wanting their opinions private, and that people think surveys are burdens
(DeSilver and Keeter). People live busier lives, so they feel that taking a survey would take too much
time and has no worth. Some may also think that the survey results would not change if they do not
answer because many people would receive calls, so they do not answer. Lower turnout means that the
results do not represent most of the population, so they become less accurate and lead to more false
predictions (Zukin). Low response rate has been a problem for voting, and it also affects surveying

The present study attempts to analyse the governing factors behind the delays in construction of
highway projects in India. Ahmedabad, largest city in the state of Gujarat and the adjoining areas are
considered for fetching the data required in the present work. Pre designed questionnaire is prepared
and used as a research tool for collecting information pertaining to frequency of occurrence of non
value adding activities in highway projects with respect to construction practices. Seventy seven
samples are being collected and the same are used here for the analysis. Fuzzy Logic based Delay
Prediction Models (FL DPM) are developed to predict the delay in construction of highways for
different levels of control over the three categories of predictor variable i.e. Human Resource,
Equipment and Material. The developed models are observed to predict the delay in projects
satisfactorily as validated by the collected responses. These models find application in Indian
infrastructure industry where a huge uncertainty prevails right from the planning phase to the
execution of the project. The findings here can facilitate dissemination of research and practice of
Lean Construction concept among stakeholders of the Indian construction sector which is believed to
mitigate various losses that accompanies the conventional approaches, particularly in the execution of
highway projects.

Roadside Memorials Essay
Roadside memorials are seen on the side of a street or highway often times after the passing of a loved
one in a car accident. While a grave marks where a body is finally laid, the roadside memorial marks
the last place where a person was alive. The memorial is usually kept up by family and close friends
and is decorated with flowers, messages, and a cross or plaque. However, often times controversial,
these families believe that their moral authority to remember a loved one trumps any governmental
regulations set in place.
While they have been recently popping up throughout the Western world, they do demonstrate cultural
norms through the materials left behind at the memorial site; often times, they replicate structures

Roadside memorials often times do this because civil and governmental bodies do not allow the
memorials to take place. Governmental authorities view the road as a public space and it is their duty
to ensure that the roads are safe and can view erected memorials as potential distractions to drivers.
There are civil bodies that allow them appear but only when they are regulated. However, to some
families, these limited memorials are not accurate representations of their feelings and how they want
to honor the deceased loved ones. Within the past five decades, numerous things have perpetuated this
change from the conventional into the newly popular roadside commemorative methods. Whether it
was the counter culture and civil rights movement of the 1960 s or the gradual distrust in government,
more people feels as if their moral authority trumps governmental superintended rules. Although civil
bodies want to confine the size and amount of time a memorial is up for, the grieving families do not
see the purpose of having such restrictions. In some ways, these memorials can be seen as a
performance focus for those who visit. Although there are not literal stage performers with music and
lights, the way the memorials are carried out reflects those who died and the ones he or she is survived
by. The focus of these shrines is to commemorate a fallen loved one or friend. While memorials are
commonly adorned with pictures and personal items, the way

The Controversy Of Banning Boxing
It is well known that boxing is a dangerous and violent sport, as the main concept of the sport is to
knock out the opponent. Many boxers have been seriously injured or even died because of boxing.
Many people believe the sport should be banned because of the violent and dangerous nature.
However, there are others who believe that the sport could be made safer and will have no need to be
banned.
Boxing is a very dangerous sport; competitors die every year, whether during a match or because of an
injury transpired from boxing. Some of the injuries caused by boxing can make people disabled, like
Michael Watson. Medical associations want to end boxing after carrying out medical studies, showing
that boxing can lead to long term brain damage, and can even lead to illnesses like Parkinson s
disease. Brain tissue is quite a soft mass and the blood vessels within it are strong, when the head is
hit, a blood vessel can snap, leading to a hemorrhage, or can create microscopic tearing of the brain
tissue around the vessel. Banning boxing can put an end to unnecessary deaths and injuries, including
brain damage. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Those who do participate in illegal cockfighting, they are punished; the same would go for boxing if it
were banned and then continued underground. Punishment for participating in boxing, by fighting or
simply watching, should scare people off for taking the sport underground. If boxing became an illegal
sport, it would lose television coverage, thus lose money and will struggle to keep the sport afloat.
Boxers have a range of skills and would be able to participate in other sports, so they at least have
options if boxing were to be

Post-Partum Depression In The Yellow Wallpaper By...
The Yellow Wallpaper written by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is a short autobiography story that
illustrates an emotional downturn of the narrator who is also a mother and a wife suffering from post
partum depression. This story establishes an intellectual deterioration in the condition of the narrator
as she searches for peace and negotiation of control in a male dominated world.
The quote If a physician of high standing, and one s own husband, assures friends and relatives that
there is really nothing the matter with one but temporary nervous depression what is one to do?
(Gilman,792) is simply displaying that the narrator is in no position to do anything because her
husband and relatives are all convinced that her condition is just temporarily. ... Show more content on

The statement I m getting really fond of the room despite the wallpaper. Perhaps because of the
wallpaper. It dwells in my mind so! (Gilman, 796) remarks the turning point of the story. The narrator
persists that the wallpaper is hideous and that nobody can see what is inside. This thinking gradually
turns into an obsession and fascinations where she lets out all her imaginations and creativeness onto
the wallpaper. Since she is not allowed to either read or write, we see that the narrator turns her focus
to the yellow wallpaper that is on the wall of her room. And because of her confinement and
oppression, the narrator has nothing to reason with, rather than to concentrate on the yellow

Rhetoric Techniques In My Writing
Being exposed to new styles of writing isn t the easiest thing to adapt to and finding new techniques
and how to use them is very difficult as well. Understanding rhetorical devices helped create tight
connections that readers can mesh with or relate to at a young age. I m now able to link personal
connections in my writing as I ve begun to experience new areas of life that the authors love to
discuss. Even though it s not an easy process learning new topics and forms of reading and literature, I
began to do what was better for myself and practice some of that on my own time as I prepared for the

Racial Profiling Research
Racial profiling has come to represent one of the latest challenges toward law enforcement agencies in
the United States. In America, unfortunately, racial profiling occurs. For instance, NYPD officers
stopped about 87 percent of the public that were either black or Latino (Geller, 2014). In addition,
approximately the same percentage was not guilty of a crime. In the study by the American Journal of
Public Health, young men who encounter numerous police contact or aggressive stops by the police
reported that they had more trauma and anxiety symptoms than among young men who had less of
these encounters with the police (Geller, 2014). This means that less aggressive invasive tactics are
necessary for suspect in order to reduce the possibility

The Breakup Of The Soviet Union
In 1992, the breakup of the Soviet Union, nationalist struggles in the Balkans, the creation of a
European community, the emergence of Japan as an economic giant from the 1970s into the 1990s,
and the presence of American culture on a global scale all focused attention on the construction and
continuity of national identities. Within Great Britain, the loss of empire and receding Protestantism
precipitated the re emergence of Englishness, Scottishness, and Welshness. Historians of Britain began
to ask what it meant to be British, on what foundations did a sense of British national identity rest, and
when should [British] history begin? Linda Colley posits answers to these three questions in Britons:
Forging the Nation 1707 1837. Britons came to define themselves (sometimes) as a single people, not
because of any political or cultural consensus at home, but rather in reaction to the Other beyond their
shores and Britishness was superimposed over an array of internal differences in response to contact
with the Other, and above all in response to conflict with the Other. Thus, in Colley s formulation,
Britain was an invention forged above all by war with Catholic France. War against the Other was the
mechanism for Britishness, but Protestantism was the foundation that made the invention of Great
Britain possible. British history begins with the nation of Great Britain, which was invented in 1707
when the Parliament of Westminster passed the Act of Union

points. The score settle at 9 5. Maja Krstonosic, #12 for the Vikings, spiked the ball in the next round.

Essay On Hypocrisy In Tartuffe
Moliere during his creation of Tartuffe wanted to bring to attention the underlying issues which were
occurring in society as people began to accept the change in social order and the way of doing things.
This was when the people who were lowly ranked by the aristocrats began to get the attention they
deserved because of the changes and the impact they were making in the society. Moliere in Tartuffe
also wanted to show the hypocrisy which was evident in I m institutions like aristocracy, church and
the working class citizens. Moliere fixed opposite attributes to the characters from the play so that
they could they could represent how irrationality, hypocrisy, and corruption could manifest themselves

In Act, I scene I Madame Parnelle is irritated and irked by the servants in his son s house because they
are paying the deserved attention to her even though she is not in need of any service. Her aristocracy
upbringing demands that servants so are available to her beck and call and they should be nearby if a
need arises. The boiling point of her anger is exemplified when Dorine who is a housemaid at Orgon s
house makes a remark against the guest Tartuffe you may see him as a saint, but Im far less awed
because I see right through him for the frauds that he is (Moliere, p.9). This statement works to be true
in the end because Tartuffe is exposed as a conniving fraud and Madame Parnelle words which had
elevated Tartuffe proved to be false. In her defense of Tartuffe, Madame Parnelle had called Tartuffe a
saint as we will ever find on this side of heaven ( Moliere, p.8). This is because Tartuffe is always
quoting the bible in his conversations which make him seem pious in the eyes of the aristocrats which
subscribed to religion a lot during the neo classical period.
Tartuffe exemplifies the desire for equality and dignity for all irrespective of the social standings
because in the midst of all the drama that was

  • 2. Student Misconduct Why is it necessary for a university to establish a code of conduct? The University of Florida s answer is in the following quote, The University of Florida is an institution which encourages the intellectual and personal growth of its students as scholars and citizens. As an educational institution, the University recognizes that the transmission of knowledge, the pursuit of truth, and the development of individuals require the free exchange of ideas, self expression, and the challenging of beliefs and customs. It is a far less risky option to make the extra effort of giving credit where it is due. This activity is a direct violation of the University Of Phoenix Code Of Conduct/Code of Academic Integrity. B. Martin sums it up nicely in the Journal of Information Ethics: plagiarism is much more common among both students and scholars than usually recognized and it is a serious offense against scholarships and should be condemned and penalized. How do you catch a cheating student participating in an online environment? As defined in the University of Phoenix 2007 2008 Online Master Catalog, cheating is using or attempting to use unauthorized materials, information, or study aids in any academic exercise (University). However, without physically interfacing with the student, how does a teacher ensure a student is turning in assignments that are homegrown within the mind of the writer? With the advent of the internet, information is rampant and often unchecked for credibility. In the same instance, it is a Mecca of information potentially influencing the personal education of billions. Coupling the internet with an online academic environment, there is a potential for cheating. Students are less likely to cheat if they are educated, monitored ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A tragic hero tends to be the protagonist of a tragedy who had the potential of greatness but is destined to some type of downfall. This is due to a major flaw called hamartia. In Antigone by Sophocles, we see a perfect representation of tragic hero in action. The play is the last of a trilogy by Sophocles, whom two brothers, Eteocles and Polyneices fight for the throne but sadly both kill each other. Creon, the uncle and new ruler decides to bury Eteocles and not Polyneices. This creates tension in the play because one of her nieces, Antigone, is Polyneices sister. The play starts off with Antigone discussing about her plan to bury Polyneices, however Ismene does not agree with Antigone. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From an early age, I was taught that giving back to others is one of the greatest joys in life. When I was a child, my parents and I made care packages of cooked food and fruits and vegetables and delivered them to people who were in desperate need in a slum of Tehran. Seeing their smiles and eagerness to reach those packages was both the best and the worst feeling of my life. I made me happy that I could bring smiles to their faces and maybe a little bit of hope to some families, but I was saddened as I witnessed the tragic lives of so many people. It also discusses how Ayatollah Khomeini s followers actually opposed each other, but opposed the Shah more. It also explains how the Shah s progressive attitude offended some for being too progressive, and some for not being progressive enough. This resulted in another conflict upon the abdication of the Shah, as to what the republic of Iran should be. In the end, Ayatolla Khomeini was declared Supreme Leader for life. DESCARATES Meditation III Several hundred years ago, two great philosophers Thomas Aquinas s and Rene Descartes used the method of ontological argument for the existence of God and used intuition and reason alone to get to each other s theory. Rene Descartes wrote out several mediations, but the one we re going to touch base on is meditation III that he wrote in the 1600 s; While Thomas Aquinas s wrote his five proofs of God in 1270 that specifies God s existence in each proof; the one that gives the best argument is the existence of God in his III proof. Aquinas also pointed one in one of his earlier proofs of the First Mover. Aquinas says that anything moved is moved by another, so there must be a first mover (a mover that is not itself moved by another) and that first mover is God. Both of the philosophers used great methods to come to their conclusion about how god came into existence. They both used different thinking methods to get to their well respected arguments but did come to the conclusion that God does exist . I believe the key difference about the two philosophers was the time difference between the philosophers, Thomas Aquinas wrote his proofs in the medieval ages around the 1200 s while ( with no disrespect) Rene Descartes wrote his meditation in the 1600 s. There is a big 400 year gap between ideas are compared but that came down to the same conclusion So in the end, Thomas Aquinas and Rene Descartes both attempted to prove the existence of God, but they differ in respect to the different thought processes to obtain the existence of God. He served in office for until 1850, 16 months after becoming president, since he died in office from a gastrointestinal condition (Editors). Taylor was a great nominee for president because he appealed to the North and the South. The North respected his long military history, while in the South, he was popular for owning slaves. The reason for the Inaugural Address is for the new president to establish what he believes in and the tasks he will complete for the country. • 12. Malaria In Kenya Essay In Kenya, an African country that is affected by Plasmodium falciparum, the most aggressive of the four species of malaria, the negative economic impact of malaria can be clearly seen. Malaria related GDP losses reached 2 6% of the total economic output of the country, with 58% of those losses being in the agricultural sector and 7% in the industrial sector (Chima, 2003). When workers or their children contract malaria, they are unable to go to work, work effectively, or spend money on things other than treatment (Chima, 2003). In other words, malaria acts as a drain on both the productivity of a country, as often there is no other person available to take the place of the absent worker. Furthermore, the costs of finding alternates to replace workers who have fallen ill, or must take care of their children is placed squarely on the shoulders of businesses, while the individual who contracted malaria, or must care for someone who has malaria is unable to both earn money for their absent days, as well as spend money in areas other than the treatment of malaria, thus stimulation only a small portion of the economy, and effectively blocking the circulation of funds in the economy to their fullest extent (Chima, 2003). • 14. Postnatal Depression ( Pnd ) Essay Postnatal depression (PND) is an isolating and debilitating mental health disorder that effects an estimated 13 15% of new mothers within one year post delivery (CDC, 2008; Gaynes et al., 2005). PND can be experienced as a vast array of symptoms such as anhedonia, excessive crying, mixed anxious mood, sleep disturbance, and even suicidality (Kantrowitz Gordon, 2013). Further, mothers with PND typically report difficulty bonding with their infant and a reduced ability to express love and warmth (Letourneau et al., 2012; Paulson, Dauber Leiferman, 2006). Occasionally, the mother has thoughts and images associated with hurting herself or her baby (NEED REFERENCE). Women who experience PND may experience confusion and shame, as their experience is contrary to the ascribed social role of motherhood which depicts an effortless, natural experience expected to bring joy. Qualitative research suggests that women with PND universally report fear of stigma, especially the stigma of being labeled a bad mother. This fear can lead to denial of symptoms and avoidance of help seeking behavior (Bilszta, Ericksen, Buist, Milgrom, 2008). Women are even reluctant to disclose distress to significant others and family members (Bilszta et al., 2008). Further, women seem to have minimal accurate education about PND and when to seek medical services (Bilszta et al., 2008). Women with PND are at risk and vulnerable to experiencing both social and self stigmatization. Stigma in Mental Health ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Directly following the above we will examine detoxification centers and Narcotics Anonymous and how they are helping to fight the battle against drug addiction. First let s look at how the medical model address addiction. People often look at drug addiction as something that can be avoided they may think that people become addicted because they have poor self control or because they lack morals. This is sadly not the case. Addiction is a disease that is treatable but not curable ( DrugFacts: Understanding Drug Abuse and Addiction | National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), n.d.). Because it is a chronic disease it must be treated not only for the present symptoms but for the long term effects as well. However, Barack Obama won the election easily, with a win by about five million votes (The Week Staff). Obama s victory upset many Americans, mainly the Republican party and those supporting it. Within Great Britain, the loss of empire and receding Protestantism precipitated the re emergence of Englishness, Scottishness, and Welshness. Historians of Britain began to ask what it meant to be British, on what foundations did a sense of British national identity rest, and when should [British] history begin? Linda Colley posits answers to these three questions in Britons: Forging the Nation 1707 1837. Britons came to define themselves (sometimes) as a single people, not because of any political or cultural consensus at home, but rather in reaction to the Other beyond their shores and Britishness was superimposed over an array of internal differences in response to contact with the Other, and above all in response to conflict with the Other. Thus, in Colley s formulation, Britain was an invention forged above all by war with Catholic France. War against the Other was the mechanism for Britishness, but Protestantism was the foundation that made the invention of Great Britain possible.
