1. What were the dangers for travelers along this portion of the Silk Road?
The dangers were the climate conditions. When traveling through the desert, it was dry and hot and
without water for long periods of time. Not even birds or beasts would be in those areas because there
were no sources for food or water. Due to the lack of food and water, the travelers that passed through
the desert would experience hallucinations. There was also chances of being attacked and robbed by
bandits.
2. Despite the dangers, what made the journey possible and even bearable?
When hostile armies passed through the country, families would go on a two to three day journey
through the desert. The journey was made possible and even bearable by the towns and cities that

No interference meant Hitler can achieve his goal in creating an ultimate German empire, and wiping
the Jews from the face of the earth. The very existence of the Jewish race depended on the help of
others. The Jews cannot go in this battle alone and the people grasped this. They know that they have
to do something, anything to help stop the occupation. Although the fear of a Nazi takeover in Europe
was strong many people risked their lives to for those who were incapable to fight themselves.
