A Qualitative Study Of Experiences Of Women Using Modern...
The topic that I have chosen is A Qualitative Study of Experiences of Women Using Modern
Contraception in Wakiso Distract, Uganda. This study focuses on thirty women who have undergone
horrible situations when it came to contraception. This case study was conducted from August and
September of 2013. Between these months many women have reported negative feedback for the use
of contraception. This is a major problem, which can affect the way that they use contraception in the
future.
The area that is being studied in this article is Wakiso Distract, Uganda. In this area new contraception
is being used. The researchers are taking 30 women from this area and are testing them on what they
think about contraception. Family planning is a high unmet need for families here in Uganda. The
high fertility rates in this area are due to unplanned pregnancies from results of not using
contraception s. In this study, the researchers used thirty women from Wakiso Distract, Uganda. These
women have used some form of contraception for at least one year. To get the information that they
needed, they conducted in depth interviews with the thirty women from Uganda. To do this interview
all consent was obtained by each woman that was being interviewed or tested. The case study is the
use of contraception in Uganda. The information that is provided is anywhere from negative and

Autonomy Vs. Paternalism In Mental Health Treatment
The assignment for this Ethics class was to review Mr. Jacob s treatment, as described by the New
York State Commission on Quality of Care for the
Mentally disabled (1994). The class was further asked to comment on the major issues for each of the
three perspectives. The agencies, family and review board were to be included. This student will begin
with a fourth perspective; that of Mr. Gordon.
In the Matter of Jacob Gordon (1994), is the story of the last eight years of a psychiatrically disabled
man s life. Mr. Gordon appeared to vacillate between striving for autonomy and accepting the support
of his family.
Unfortunately, it appeared by this account that the families support was ... Show more content on

people with schizophrenia quot; (Rubenstien, 1994,
p.55). Mr. Gordon remained safe and close to his family by relinquishing his autonomy. Mr. Gordon s
safety was the most important issue for the family.
Secondarily to his safety, Mr. Gordon s family wished him to have the opportunity to participate in
programming that would assist in his wellness.
For Mr. Gordon s family, wellness seemed to equate to a standard of behavior that his mother
personally viewed as normal.
The family were not bound to any code of ethics or compelled to understand their biases or prejudices
in their son s case. Certainly, to say that the family operated on the premise of paternalism is an
understatement. Ethically, the Gordon s believed that they were the most justified to speak in the best
interests of their son. The energy that the Gordon s put into advocating for what they

What Is The Gilded Age Essay
The Gilded Age A successful economy is perhaps the most key ingredient leading to a successful
nation. An economy is a delicate balance of many different conflicting and coexisting elements.
Naturally, an economy s success can often be measured by the amount of wealth it contains, not to
mention the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of its distribution of the wealth. Effective distribution of
wealth is no easy feat. Wealthy and poor people will always need to coexist this is an inescapable
truth. The government s job in many cases becomes that of a referee. Naturally, perfect peace and
harmony between two totally different classes would be a utopia, and probably will never be
completely achieved. A government must, therefore, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The market model of economy, developed by Adam Smith entails a freely flowing economy that
places little or not restriction on occupation allowing individuals utmost rights. America took on an
ethos of a mixed economy of market and command that struck a successful economic equilibrium.
American economy also changes with different periods of history. The Civil War had lit the spark of
industrialization needed to enhance the American economy. Technology advanced by leaps and
bounds and free labor was done away with to make room for Industrialization and Adam Smith s
market model of capitalism. Capitalism was a promoter of the entrepreneur and individual success. It
was only natural that during this time of private interest the gap between rich and poor would be
greatly widened and a state of disorder might arise. Capitalism was a new ideology and drastic labor
problems and social disorder arose because Americans were simply adjusting to (and taking advantage
of) the new system. Although the gap between rich and poor during the late nineteenth and early
twentieth century was unquestionably large, the nation was also prospering through large economic
gains. Although it may have seemed like a nation in which the rich were detached from the poor, the
US was actually harvesting a new breed of self accomplishing individuals. With the end of free labor,
the US had sought a new ideology, and found it in Adam

Argumentative Essay On Massage Therapy
What does back pain, neck tension, headaches and anxiety all have in common? They are all treatable
issues that can be relieved or treated through massage therapy. Stress related symptoms are one
potential treatment option for massage therapy. Massage may also be used to treat muscular pain
following strenuous exercise. Tiffany Field, head of Psychology at the University of Miami School of
Medicine s Touch Research Institute, explains that massage can limit our bodies fight or flight
response associated with stressful or fearful situations. In university, many students will experience
stressful moments with assignments, exams, and projects. What many students are unaware of, is how
stress negatively impacts mental and physical health. Through the use of massage therapy, students
can relieve stress and even sleep better at night. Massage can be used to cope with mood disorders and
relieve muscle pain or tension. Field explains massage can increase blood flow and circulation of
oxygen or nutrients throughout the muscles, as a method of removing metabolic wastes such as lactic
acid that are produced through exercise (58). Massage is an excellent treatment for stress, pain, and
sleep deprivation. With a massage therapy clinic on campus, charging at reduced rates, students would
benefit by having the opportunity to improve their quality of sleep, limit emotional issues they may be
feeling, improve their athletic performance and improve their academic performance. Massage is a

Students with a fixed mindset believe that they are born with a specific set of talent and they are
limited by those talents. They will fell that they reached their expected ability, consequently stop
trying. If the student has a growth mindset , they believe that if a concept is challenging, it will
provide them an opportunity to learn a new concept. They also believe that there are no restrictions
due to inherited ability.
A similar notion is shown on Geoff Colvin s book, Talent is overrated. He validates that success is a
result of a focused effort to increase one s knowledge. Stating that hard work can result in success and
that inborn talent is only helpful when the student first start learning a new concept.

How Is Ancient Egypt Different From Our Culture
Did you know that the Egyptians kids were naked untill they were six years old? If you are six years
old or younger you would be naked right now if you lived in the Ancient Egypt time. The Egyptians
had many different cultures than us. Clothings, jewelry, makeup, and etc. are some examples that were
different than our culture. Clothing is very different than us. Most of the men in working classes wore
either loincloth or short kilt and sometimes a type of shirt. Women wore straight dresses with one or
two straps. Animal skins, above all leopard skins, worn by priests and by pharaohs. At times Kings
and Queens wore ceremonial clothing adorned with feathers.
Another example is the jewelry. Specific materials, colours, and designs were often associated with
certain gods or goddesses or magical qualities of protection. Any changes to these could affect the
spiritual value of the items. Everyone wore jewelry in Ancient Egypt, from poor farmers to wethly
royals. For the wealthy, pieces were made from semi precious ... Show more content on

Egyptians appeared to care a great deal about the way they looked. Pharaohs had their own
hairdressers and manicurists and cosmetics was big business. Archaeologists have unearthed mirrors,
hair pins, makeup containers, brushes and other items. On special occasions ancient Egyptians wore
greasy cones of fragrance on their head that melted in the heat and dripped perfume on their wigs. To
decorate their eyes, the Ancient Egyptians used black and green paints. The black paint was derived
from powdered galena (now known as kohl) and it was supposed to protect eyes from the hot sun. The
green paint was derived from malachite powder (a green coloured mineral) and was used because it
would make eyes appear larger. In addition, green paint was believed to invoke the eye of Horus, the
god of The Sky Sun and also of healing. For this reason, the Egyptians thought green paint would

Should girls and boys be allowed to play on the same high school team? No because some boys or

and vice versa. The last reason is that some players may get hurt. Boys and girls should not play on
the same high school team. Some boys or girls may think it is unfair. One reason they may think this is
that boys can be more advanced than girls are in sports. The second reason is it is not fair would be
that boys are generally more athletic than girls can be at times and if a girl was guarding a boy in a
basketball game she may get tired out fully and disappoint her team. The last reason that it is not fair

Analysis Of The Article Why Parents Need To Let Their...
In the article Why Parents Need to Let Their Children Fail Lahey illustrates overprotective parents
(helicopter parenting). Lahey shows a perfect example at the beginning of the article where a mother
wrote her child s essay and plagiarized it; she gave excuses like my kid has a lot of work or I don t
want her to be overstressed. This type of parenting makes teachers jobs more difficult because the
student is not learning the material if their parents are doing their homework. Overall Lahey argues
that overparenting is damaging towards a child s growth; I agree that this is destructive to a kid,
because if they do not learn how to fail when they are younger than they have a sense of entitlement in
the future.
Lahey is correct about how children will be stuck in a state of helplessness , which I see every day.
Every day at work I witness how children are not able to answer a simple yes or no question without
their parent there to guide them. This has caused them to believe they are incapable of being in control
of their own lives in a way. Many parents come in asking me if their child did their homework instead
of asking the child and holding them accountable for doing it or not. I have witnessed children that
know all the answers to a math worksheet but go to their parents for the answers instead of even
trying. Children who grow up unprepared for the world are unable to deal with the emotional
hardships of not having their parents to lean on every step they are unable to cope with not getting
their way. Similarly, Lahey explains how parents who raise their children in a state of helplessness and
powerlessness, children destined to an anxious adulthood, lacking the emotional resources they will
need to cope with inevitable setback and failure. (Lahey 3) If a child is unable to master what I call
thick skin when they are young then in the future every little thing will hurt their feelings. Thick skin
is made when your parents give you chores and hold you responsible if they are not done. Future
adults that had helicopter parents will be unable to put up the dishes without needing reassurance that
they are doing it correctly. These parents are ultimately giving their children a false sense of protection

The Theme of Social Responsibility in Victorian England Essay
How does dickens explore the theme of social responsibility in
Victorian England?
Charles dickens wrote A Christmas Carol for a certain reason, and that reason was that he wanted to
make people aware of the terrible situation the children of the poor were in. He visited a school in
1843 and was appalled by what he saw there. It was a school for the poorest children to teach them
basic reading and writing skills. The children s employment commission had also shocked him. At
first dickens had the idea of writing a pamphlet called an appeal to the people of England on behalf of
the poor mans child but soon realised that seen as he was the most popular novelist of the time people
would take much more notice he wrote about the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

beggars and vagabonds of every kind to add to the everyday life of
Victorian London.
Up until the second half of the 19th century people were still drinking water from the Thames in
which raw sewage flowed into, causing several outbursts of cholera along with the great stink of
1958, the disease and sewage in the drinking water made a link with
Dr. John to find that all the victims of the cholera outbreak was connected with the same water pump.
A plan was put together by Sir

A new law was put into place the new poor law enacted in 1834.
Before it had been burden of all the parishes to take care of the poor. The new law required that all the
parishes worked together to create regional workhouses where aid could be applied for. The
workhouse was little more than a prison for the poor.

Very few movies portray the relationship between the government and civilian masses during trying

It concentrates on the effects of know how on the society and how human beings are living side by
side with them. They effects of mechanization are evident from the opening scene of this film where
workers are being monitored by machines in a factory lending credence to his view of human
enslavement by technology. At the time of making the film, America was going through high
unemployment rates, and corporate downfall as a result of the great depression. Hence, the idea of
saving money and time so as to amass huge profits came up hence the introduction of machines to
work on behalf of humans.
Many film critics have argued that these two films resemble each other even though they were
produced almost a decade apart. Both are about the suffering of the ordinary person in the hands of a
ruthless upper class. The ordinary man is seeking to live in a normal environment where there are no
controls, and work is not mechanized. They all talk about a future where machines take over from
human beings and do all the work. The machines even subdue the humans. In both films machines are
at the centre of businesses as they make work easier, and increase profits for the elite. Governments in
a capitalistic society do not control businesses. Furthermore, in both films the government is unable to
take care of the masses as the elitist control all the resources available.

Introduction: According to the Center of Disease Control national survey, smoking habits have

ultrasounds, antibiotics (intravenously), and fluid therapies can all be ordered to help in treating the
sepsis. Sepsis Treatment Sepsis should be to be considered a medical emergency and treatment should
begin the minute a patient presents with symptoms. Treatment options may begin with applying
oxygen to the patient. Providing oxygen to the patient can ensure the body has enough oxygen in its
system to perfuse vital organs. Treating patients with intravenous fluids can not only hydrate the
patient but help to bring up a patient s blood pressure than make be low due to the sepsis. Intravenous
fluids such as normal saline (a crystalloid fluids) are usually the fluid of choice when treating sepsis.
Another group of fluids that may be administered are colloid solutions. Colloids solutions include
albumin and dextran. Albumin can replace lost fluid and help restore blood volume. Is a plasma
volume expander that can assist in treating hypovolemia? When patients have an unstable or low
blood pressure it can lead to shock. A 2006 study showed that the risk of death from sepsis increases
by 7.6% with every hour that passes before treatment begins (Kumar, 2006, p.251).

A Soldier Lays Dying On The Battlefield, Cannonballs Fly...
A soldier lays dying on the battlefield, cannonballs fly overhead. In the distance redcoats clash with
patriots. They fight for two very different ideologies. The patriots fight for the freedom of the people
and for rights they re denied under the king, while the redcoats fight for their king and power. The
revolutionaries were fighting against a power hungry tyrant, that cared for only money and power.
This relates to present day as the corporate elite fight against the people to fatten their checkbooks.
Campaign finance presses a real issue today because the people are no longer in control of the
government. Elections are bought and paid for by billionaires with certain corporate agendas in place.
Bernie Sanders has recently brought this issue up to attention claiming to campaign for the people, and
be free of super pacs. Sanders wishes for a government beholden to the people of America, not
millionaires and billionaires. On his website he stated In the year 2016, with a political campaign
finance system that is corrupt and increasingly controlled by billionaires and special interests, I fear
very much that, in fact, government of the people, by the people, and for the people is beginning to
perish in the United States of America. (Get Big Money Out of Politics and Restore Democracy

Planet
In the outer limits of our solar system there is a planet unlike any other, Pluto. Pluto was discovered in
February of 1930 by an American astronomer, Clyde Tombaugh. It is the only planet to have been
discovered by an American. All though we have known of the existence of Pluto for over thirty years
now, there are still many mysteries surrounding this celestial body. Being the farthest planet has made
it difficult to study Pluto, Adding to the obscurity of this strange planet is that the capability to send
spacecraft such distances has never been achieved. Through the wonders of science and astronomy,
there are many things that can be determined, concluded, and hypothesized about this obscure planet.

This gives Pluto the appearance that it is tipped on its side, which, in essence, it virtually is. Pluto s
rotation also has notable qualities. Pluto s rotation period is 6.387 days, the same as its satellite/moon
Charon. Although it is common for a moon to travel in a synchronous orbit with its planet, Pluto is the
only planet to rotate synchronously with the orbit of its satellite. Thus being tidally locked, Pluto and
Charon continuously face each other as they travel through space. From 1985 to 1990, the Earth lined
up with Pluto and Charon to cause and eclipse every Pluto day. This occurrence allowed astronomers
to gather a multitude of valuable information about Pluto and its moon. The eclipses lasted as much as
four hours and by carefully timing their beginning and ending, measurements for their diameters were
taken. Photograph s later taken by the Hubble telescope confirms Pluto s diameter of 1413 miles, and
Charon s, at nearly half the size, 728 miles across within one percent accuracy.
Astronomers where also able to determine the density of Pluto during the daily eclipses. By
discovering the density to be approximately two grams per cubic centimeter, astronomers where able
to hypothesize the make up of the planet. They concluded that Pluto is fifty to seventy percent rock
with mixed with ice. Astronomers are also confident in the density of Charon. If correct, the
approximate density of one gram per cubic centimeter would mean that Charon

For These Reasons, The Catapult (Figure 2) Set Was Suggested
For these reasons, the catapult (Figure 2) set was suggested as a primary training aid in the Six Sigma

seven factors at two or more levels of experimental design as well as both continuous and categorical
factors. It provided data for analysis, which could be used for Gauge Repeatability and

Therefore the Six Sigma competition game included a reward (i.e. Coins) element in the classroom
quizzes as discussed in the earlier section.
There were two forms of quizzes. The first quiz format was to recapitulate the previous day s learning
using the question cards method. The learners needed to discuss among the team and developed a
question list based on what had learned on the previous day before the question given to the opponent
team to answer. The second one was a Six Sigma pop quiz during the class. The quizzes not only
provide immediate feedback to the trainers if any adjustment of the training was needed, but also
served as an avenue for the teams to earn their coins (resources) depending on the correctness of the
responses. On the other hand, the team would lose its coins for any inappropriate answers. The
deduction of coins was not intended as punishment, but it worked as a tool to control the individual
learner from simply answering without team discussion. The teams had to accumulate the coins as

Lao Tzu, a notable writer who speaks much upon power and domination that, there is no greater
illusion than fear,/ no greater wrong than preparing to defend yourself,/ no greater misfortune than
having an enemy (26). This is an ingenious concept, yet we all face fear everyday, for many of us, it
affects our way of life and the way we think and do things. What is fear triggered by anyways? Is it
the lack of trust in others, or the natural tendency to be afraid of that which we do not know?

was told. I walked outside into the chilly October night. I hopped into the car and tossed the pizzas in
the back. I had just gotten promoted last week; the other guy had quit. I turned the car and glanced at
the address, punching the numbers into the GPS and taking off. The GPS took me to the main road,
interstate 94. I was only on the interstate for about 7 minutes when the GPS suddenly took me into the
rural part of town. Before long I was traveling on a pitch black, narrow dirt road surrounded by dense
forest. It was late and I was tried. My boss had told me I could go home after my delivery was done
and that s all I could think about. A couple of more miles of passing nothing and I would be done. I
started to slow the car down as the GPS pointed the way to the house. It was dark and I could hardly
see anything as I came to a stop. The GPS had reached its final destination. In front of me was a dark
dirt walkway that led up to an old creepy house that looked like something from a horror story.

The Use Of Performance Enhancing Drugs Within Sports
Legalization of Performance Enhancing Drugs within Sports Do you want to want to become the peak
athlete that you know your body is capable of? Well, this paper will not do that for you, but it will tell
you how, and it will tell you why it should be legal to do so. Doping in sports is one of the most
extensive debates within the realm of athletics. Whether it be injecting anabolic steroids, consuming
them, or blood doping, athletes will do drugs. Doping has no effect on the viewership of the sport.
Athletes can always find ways to cheat the system, and trying to prevent the use seems impossible.
The use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) should be legalized, as long as it is allowed under
medical supervision. Performance enhancing drugs, or steroids, are defined as substances used to
improve physical performance. There are many types of steroidal performance enhancers. The first of
these performance enhancing drugs are anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids are also known as
androgen steroids, and they are used to increase the muscle mass and strength of a person. A natural
anabolic steroid is testosterone, which your body naturally produces. Some athletes take straight
testosterone which is another way to boost your athletic performance. This has the same effect as
anabolic steroids, but it is natural and can be found within the body. Anabolic steroids are so effective
and appealing to athletes, because they allow athletes to recover faster from a

The Recorded Music Industry
The recorded music industry is currently experiencing difficulties unimaginable during the 1980s,
which were a period of growth, consolidation, and technical advancement. The album sector was still
strong across the industry, something that became a financial boom from the mid 80s onwards with the
advent and subsequent popularity of compact discs (CD). CDs became the dominant carrier of
recorded music and quickly superseded vinyl albums. This was a major fillip to record companies, as
fans bought CDs of their favourite old vinyl albums, thus classic albums artists from the 60s and 70s
sold substantial amounts of CD versions of their old album catalogue. As many major record
companies were part of multinational electric goods companies, a valid argument can be that record
companies were providing the software (CDs) for the multinationals hardware (CD players). To
illustrate this point, the electrical goods giants Philips and Sony owned record companies, and as
stated on the Philips website also collaborated in the research and development of the compact disc.
The effect of owning both aspects of the process resulted in profits being monopolised by the
multinationals.
The current malaise afflicting the recorded music industry can be traced to the development of digital
downloads to the market. Recorded music can now be compressed and made available in a digitally
transferable format known as MP3. However, due to the digital nature of the format it is easier to
share

Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies By Julia Alvarez
In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez fictionalizes the harrowing lives of the Mirabal sisters,
who came to represent an underground resistance against the dictator of their native Dominican
Republic, Trujillo. Though the Mirabal sisters were indeed real and parts of Alvarez s novel reflect
true events, this is a fictionalized account of what these sisters faced throughout their lives. Readers
know from the beginning that three of the four sisters will not survive the regime, but they were
shown to be noble warriors for their people throughout the novel regardless. Alvarez utilizes
immersion, tension, and point of view to weave a unique story of survival and strength in the face of
opposition. Perhaps the most important tool that Alvarez uses to convey the story of the Mirabal
sisters is immersion. Readers are thrust into the world of the Trujillo dictatorship and though they can
only grasp the experiences through the eyes of the sisters, their lives are more than enough to
exemplify the cruelty of this dictator. From the beginning of the novel, Dedé is silently judging an
American woman for her lack of understanding about Dominican culture. Through small details like
the fact that there are no street signs because most people can t read, there are revelations about the
country in itself without just stating facts and statistics. Alvarez uses many other tools to immerse her
readers and she notably uses Spanish words and sentences throughout this English novel. Some
sentences are translated throughout but she does choose to leave some words untranslated both in
dialogue and in the general narration from the sisters. Though this is a simple idea, it reinforces the
setting of the Spanish speaking Dominican Republic and assists in immersing readers with only a few
words. How and when three of the four Mirabal sisters died is established before the book is even
opened as it was a true event and it is identified in any summary of the novel. Yet the story is partially
told by these three sisters anyway, creating an unbearable sense of tension throughout the book as
readers wonder when they will read of their deaths. They also continually interact with Trujillo, each
scene making the family s

Optional Dispute Resolution
Mediation is a form of optional dispute resolution process. It can be applied in noncriminal cases such
as conflict resolution agreements, business, employment and so forth. To make mediation process
successful, all disputing parties must work cooperatively for resolution. The neutral mediator is
needed for this work who can negotiate the fair resolution of their dispute. Based on this fact, this

Taking a Look at Ski Jumping
The 2014 Olympics held a wide range of competitions for athletes. One of the events, ski jumping,
was part of the Olympics since the first games in 1924. Ski jumping was born in 1860 when
Norwegian Sondre Norheim, built the first measured jump and flew 30 metres. That record held for
more than three decades. Ski jumping is a sport where skiers go down a ramp, jump, attempt to fly as
far as possible, and land safely. Judges give points to skiers for proper technique and style, but those
points do not add much to the total as the distance contributes to the majority of the scoring. Over the
last 100 years, ski jumping has changed enormously due to the new technology made available. The
modern sport involves a extreme amount of practice, patience and confidence. The sport is very
popular, but also very dangerous. Factors like wind can severely effect a skiers score.
The top of the hill is the start. There is a bar at the top that the jumper sits on while they are waiting
and getting ready. Once ready, the ski jumper will lean forward and will naturally start accelerating
down the pre made path on the platform. The in run usually has an angle of 38o to 36o, which then
turns into the jump at the end of the run. The end of the run usually has an angle between 7o and 12o
downhill. The ground after the jump is precisely made so the jumper is never over 6 meters over the
ground. This measure is in place so if the jumper loses balance, they will not fall very far before

The No Child Left Behind Act Of 2001 ( Nclb )
The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) is a United States Act of Congress that is a
reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which included Title I, the
government s flagship aid program for disadvantaged students. No Child Left behind was enacted with
the intent to become a government aid program for disadvantaged students, and eventually raise the
general education standards for the United States. This act was created with the idea to close the
achievement gap with accountability, flexibility, and choice, so that no child is left behind (ESEA) to
put most simply. The act serves to only require certain basic skills, but does not have any national
achievement standards, as it is decided on by each individual state. The bill was signed into effect by
George W. Bush in January of 2002. Many people, opposers and supporters alike, argue that it is a one
size fits all approach to education and teaching that puts too much emphasis on testing and doesn t
fund schools properly, making it nearly impossible to achieve success. The law was initially designed
to introduce national standards to a system in which students in some demographic groups were more
likely to succeed and others likely to be left behind. But it allows states to determine how success is
measured, which could be the source of its downfall.
The problems with NCLB seem to be endless. The biggest, and most easily solved, is the lack of a
plan. NCLB was enacted with several goals:

A reserve currency, also referred to as an anchor currency, is a currency that is held in significant
quantities by governments and institutions as part of their foreign exchange reserves (Carbaugh,
2011). As the world s reserve currency, the U.S. dollar is used throughout the world as a medium of
exchange and is used as the global currency for products traded within the global market. In recent

All of these actions by the U.S. Government have greatly increased its reliance on foreign investors to
fund both large budget and trade deficits.
Increased trade deficits can be concerning, but it is the United State s large budget deficits that are
concerning the worldwide leaders. The trade deficit is a reflection of the United States rapid growth
compared to other countries along with the continued injection of foreign funds into the U.S. due to
the dollar being the reserve currency (Carbaugh, 2011). A portion of the trade deficit is a result of a
capital surplus and not a reflection of an imbalance in the U.S. economy. In other words, the budget
deficit is due to a structural imbalance as the U.S. is spending beyond their means.
Due to the $14 trillion deficit, the United States has had to print more dollars to support their financial

financial difficulties in the future which will result in the depreciation of the dollar and also increased

Proven Guilty
Regarding whether the defendant CJ can be charged with Murder , depends on several different
factors. In front of the law CJ is not legally able to be charged with criminal responsibility, being only
thirteen and not above fourteen years of age. Thus, in this situation, Doli Incapax acts as a rebuttable
presumption. This essentially means that because of CJs age, his behaviour is under the context of
being incapable or unable to form an intent to commit a crime . Nevertheless, an assumption is made
by a court that CJ is innocent until proven guilty . This statement is valid, unless and until the other
party strongly contests the decision, and proves otherwise. Rebuttable presumptions are regularly
linked with Prima Facie evidence, which involves evidence that is set before the trial. This kind of
proof is extremely important, as it needs to sufficiently prove the defendant s claim, unless there is
substantial inconsistent evidence presented at trial favouring the prosecutor. As the Children law
states, the test for Doli Incapax involves prosecution must rebut the presumption of doli incapax as an

The cost, team size and LOC are measured on the bases of COCOMO model. It is a constructive cost
mode. Effort of the project is calculated by the help of algorithm models. One of these models which
are widely used is COCOMO model. For the cost estimation of any project, COCOMO (constructive

as non functional requirements. The functional requirements of the software are must be tested at the
beginning phase but the security requirements, reliability and safety requirements (Non functional
requirements) are tested after the end of propose process.
For the system, which should never be failed, the reliability test of the software should be done. For
this, the black box and white box testing should be done on the software. After the successful
development of the software, a beta version should be released. The errors and bugs related to the
security and functional requirements can be find out in an easy manner.
Conclusion
For the given project, project manager plays very important role. He/she will decide role of each team
member, team size, etc. The selection of development model is also done by him. The waterfall model
is basic model and is recommended. The black box and white box testing methods will be selected for

his enemies. While it may have accomplished its purpose, many innocents were killed as well.
Families, parent and child, were ripped apart in Mao s paranoia. The author, Moying Li, grew up in
this period of history. Her family suffered alongside millions of others who had come under fire from
the government and Communist Party. Snow Falling in Spring was her attempt to at coming to terms
with her life and the events that had happened in it. It describes significant parts in the later years of
Mao, starting the Great Leap Forward and ending with the death of the once beloved Chairman.
Moying Li tells of her childhood to early adulthood when her whole world came crashing down with
the Cultural Revolution. And she is most certainly qualified to be telling the story. Ms. Li first started
writing and publishing works from the time she was still in China, at college. Her previous book,
Beacon Hill: The Life Times of a Neighborhood, had won the Julia Ward Howe Award. Snow Falling
in Spring had won the IRA Children s and Young Adult s Book Award and was named a Notable
Social Studies Trade Book. It was selected as a winner for the 2009 Massachusetts Book Award for
Non fiction (adult category) (Li, About the Author). As the story is a memoir, it shows bias in the fact
that the author is inclined to show herself and her struggles in a way that generates support for what
she has gone

The Problem Of Immigration And Immigration
This paper will examine the problem of Immigration and Immigration Law. I will first discuss what
Immigration Law is and how it works, then I will define the number one problem of immigration laws,
illegal immigration and why it s so important to follow procedures. It will also address the
consequences after violating the laws. Next the paper discusses three policy solutions to the problems
of illegal immigration: Legalization of Immigrants, Strengthen Border Security, and Immigration
Amnesty. The paper will first explain each policy solution. Then it will analyze the pros and cons, and
potential strengths and weakness of each solution. Last this paper will offer some personal
observations on the problem of immigration.
Three government policy solutions to the problem of illegal immigration include the Legalization of
Illegal Immigrants, the Secure Fence Act of 2006, and Amnesty. If these three government policies
were truly implemented it will help to solve and cut back in illegal immigration activity in the United
States.
Section II
Immigration law refers to the rules established by the federal government for determining who is
allowed to enter the country, and for how long. It also governs the naturalization process for those who
desire to become United States citizens. Finally, when foreign nationals enter without permission,
overstay their visit, or otherwise lose their legal status, they become illegal immigrants, immigration
law controls how detention and removal

Flat Irons-Personal Narrative
One summer ago, I discovered the truth behind the old saying, Forever doesn t last too long these
days. I felt as if forever had been cut short like the strands of life were by the Furies.
I remember it like it was yesterday I had just bought a new flat iron. We were walking through the
outlet mall in Orlando, Florida. Lost and confused by all the hustle and bustle of it, I tried to remain
optimistic. I always try to steer clear of the booths in the middle of a mall as the salespeople are
incorrigibly relentless. Suddenly, I was seized by an Italian speaking woman. Immediately, she hauled
me to her booth, and I could not escape. For fear of us leaving, she forcefully seated me.
Consequently, my family was forced to follow and participate. ... Show more content on

Almost finished, I looked up to note my accomplishments. I was impressed. My thick, coarse hair was
silky and had body. I couldn t wait to show it off. Every time I needed my hair to look salon done, I
used the Royale. It was my favorite until it became unreliable. I had yearbook pictures the next day
and was depending on Royale with my life. I absolutely could not go to school with my hair half afro,
half straight. A ponytail simply would not do. I started crying because the flat iron would not turn on. I
tried everything I could imagine. I cursed the Italian saleswoman, and the creators of the Royale for
filling my innocent mind with lies about a better future. I was about to give up on life when I
remembered I still had an old flat iron. It may not have been new and improved, but it got the job
done.
When I returned home from picture day, I immediately phoned the Royale company about the lifetime
policy. I did not know where my mother brought it from nor where her warranty paper was. The
Representatives were not helpful and could not assure me a new flat iron. I was heartbroken. After all
the promises and guarantees of no hassle replacement, the company did not follow

Bebe s Family
In this essay, Campbell discusses her experience being raised by African American women in her
family. Her father left when she was very young, leaving her to only her mother, grandmother, and
aunts.
Growing up, one thing instilled into Bebe was to make sure she acted proper, especially in public
around white people, as they didn t want her to be seen as another typical colored person . The women
in her family believed that if she acted right, she would be given a better and more equal opportunity
at an education as the white children.
One day, when Bebe acted out in class, her mother was called, but instead of being punished, her
mother was more embarrassed at the fact that she allowed other (white) kids to see her act that way.
Bebe went on to complain about how she wished she had a father figure in her life to punish her for
doing such things like the other kids had. In her mind, having a father figure symbolized stability and
normalcy in a family, which she didn t have, adding another thing to the list of differences she had
from the other students. She continued on to say that she didn t even care how her father would act or
treat her, as long as he was present in her life, which draws to ... Show more content on

I think the essay could be relatable to a lot of kids trying to find their own sense of normal in life.
While I think guidance is important in growing up and developing your own thoughts and ideas, I
think that being able to come up with your own idea of normalcy is more important for development.
If Bebe s mother wasn t so persistent in telling her how to act in public especially because she was
colored, I don t think Bebe would have felt such a strong feeling of anger toward her family situation
because she would have been able to build a stronger relationship with the

Animal Testing Inaccurate
Animal Testing Are you allowing yourself to ignore the unnecessary, unethical, and inaccurate
experiments and tests that are being done to innocent animals every single day? Scientists, doctors,
and other experimenters do physical and mental tests on animals in search of answers. Over time the
horrible practices that were, and still are, happening to these animals on a daily bases were slowly
opened to the public and it seems like no one wanted to believe it. Slowly these ways are being
stopped but there are still labs testing these animals with no sympathy. Animal testing is unnecessary,
unethical, and inaccurate because humans are totally different than animals, there are other possible
ways to find answers, and the experiments done on ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Of the 26 million animals used, 95% of those animals are small rodents, birds, and fish (Listland). Not
many higher mammals are used, making this okay in their eyes. Their biggest support for how they
feel on this topic are facts that make animal testing look ethical and not as bad, just how the following
fact states. The human population of the United States eats about 9 billion chickens each year or more
than 340 chickens for each animal used in research. (listland). This quote shows not many of our
animals are being tested on even though 26 million may seem like a large number. In reality, though,
we are eating more than we are testing on and the little ones we are testing on won t make any
difference any way, they can reproduce just fine. Many people have argued over this fact, but a
question always pops up and never seems to be solved. Why is it okay for even the little number of
animals to be tested on? The small animals such as birds, fish, and mice have a right to live their lives
and just because they re small it doesn t lessen their importance or tell whether it is okay for them to
be tested

Effective distribution of wealth is no easy feat. Wealthy and poor people will always need to coexist this is an inescapable truth. The government s job in many cases becomes that of a referee. They are all treatable issues that can be relieved or treated through massage therapy. Stress related symptoms are one potential treatment option for massage therapy. Massage may also be used to treat muscular pain following strenuous exercise. Tiffany Field, head of Psychology at the University of Miami School of Medicine s Touch Research Institute, explains that massage can limit our bodies fight or flight response associated with stressful or fearful situations. In university, many students will experience stressful moments with assignments, exams, and projects. What many students are unaware of, is how stress negatively impacts mental and physical health. Through the use of massage therapy, students can relieve stress and even sleep better at night. Massage can be used to cope with mood disorders and relieve muscle pain or tension. Field explains massage can increase blood flow and circulation of oxygen or nutrients throughout the muscles, as a method of removing metabolic wastes such as lactic acid that are produced through exercise (58). Massage is an excellent treatment for stress, pain, and sleep deprivation. Lahey shows a perfect example at the beginning of the article where a mother wrote her child s essay and plagiarized it; she gave excuses like my kid has a lot of work or I don t want her to be overstressed. This type of parenting makes teachers jobs more difficult because the student is not learning the material if their parents are doing their homework. Overall Lahey argues that overparenting is damaging towards a child s growth; I agree that this is destructive to a kid, because if they do not learn how to fail when they are younger than they have a sense of entitlement in the future. Lahey is correct about how children will be stuck in a state of helplessness , which I see every day. Every day at work I witness how children are not able to answer a simple yes or no question without their parent there to guide them. This has caused them to believe they are incapable of being in control of their own lives in a way. Many parents come in asking me if their child did their homework instead of asking the child and holding them accountable for doing it or not. I have witnessed children that know all the answers to a math worksheet but go to their parents for the answers instead of even trying. Children who grow up unprepared for the world are unable to deal with the emotional hardships of not having their parents to lean on every step they are unable to cope with not getting their way. Similarly, Lahey explains how parents who raise their children in a state of helplessness and powerlessness, children destined to an anxious adulthood, lacking the emotional resources they will need to cope with inevitable setback and failure. (Lahey 3) If a child is unable to master what I call thick skin when they are young then in the future every little thing will hurt their feelings. Well, this paper will not do that for you, but it will tell you how, and it will tell you why it should be legal to do so. Doping in sports is one of the most extensive debates within the realm of athletics. Whether it be injecting anabolic steroids, consuming them, or blood doping, athletes will do drugs. Doping has no effect on the viewership of the sport. Athletes can always find ways to cheat the system, and trying to prevent the use seems impossible. The use of performance enhancing drugs (PEDs) should be legalized, as long as it is allowed under medical supervision. Performance enhancing drugs, or steroids, are defined as substances used to improve physical performance. There are many types of steroidal performance enhancers. The first of these performance enhancing drugs are anabolic steroids. Anabolic steroids are also known as androgen steroids, and they are used to increase the muscle mass and strength of a person. • 32. The Recorded Music Industry The recorded music industry is currently experiencing difficulties unimaginable during the 1980s, which were a period of growth, consolidation, and technical advancement. The album sector was still strong across the industry, something that became a financial boom from the mid 80s onwards with the advent and subsequent popularity of compact discs (CD). CDs became the dominant carrier of recorded music and quickly superseded vinyl albums. This was a major fillip to record companies, as fans bought CDs of their favourite old vinyl albums, thus classic albums artists from the 60s and 70s sold substantial amounts of CD versions of their old album catalogue. As many major record companies were part of multinational electric goods companies, a valid argument can be that record companies were providing the software (CDs) for the multinationals hardware (CD players). To illustrate this point, the electrical goods giants Philips and Sony owned record companies, and as stated on the Philips website also collaborated in the research and development of the compact disc. The effect of owning both aspects of the process resulted in profits being monopolised by the multinationals. The current malaise afflicting the recorded music industry can be traced to the development of digital downloads to the market. Recorded music can now be compressed and made available in a digitally transferable format known as MP3. However, due to the digital nature of the format it is easier to share ... • 33. Analysis Of In The Time Of The Butterflies By Julia Alvarez In the Time of the Butterflies by Julia Alvarez fictionalizes the harrowing lives of the Mirabal sisters, who came to represent an underground resistance against the dictator of their native Dominican Republic, Trujillo. Though the Mirabal sisters were indeed real and parts of Alvarez s novel reflect true events, this is a fictionalized account of what these sisters faced throughout their lives. Readers know from the beginning that three of the four sisters will not survive the regime, but they were shown to be noble warriors for their people throughout the novel regardless. Alvarez utilizes immersion, tension, and point of view to weave a unique story of survival and strength in the face of opposition. Perhaps the most important tool that Alvarez uses to convey the story of the Mirabal sisters is immersion. Readers are thrust into the world of the Trujillo dictatorship and though they can only grasp the experiences through the eyes of the sisters, their lives are more than enough to exemplify the cruelty of this dictator. From the beginning of the novel, Dedé is silently judging an American woman for her lack of understanding about Dominican culture. Through small details like the fact that there are no street signs because most people can t read, there are revelations about the country in itself without just stating facts and statistics. Alvarez uses many other tools to immerse her readers and she notably uses Spanish words and sentences throughout this English novel. Some sentences are translated throughout but she does choose to leave some words untranslated both in dialogue and in the general narration from the sisters. Though this is a simple idea, it reinforces the setting of the Spanish speaking Dominican Republic and assists in immersing readers with only a few words. How and when three of the four Mirabal sisters died is established before the book is even opened as it was a true event and it is identified in any summary of the novel. Yet the story is partially told by these three sisters anyway, creating an unbearable sense of tension throughout the book as readers wonder when they will read of their deaths. They also continually interact with Trujillo, each scene making the family s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Ski jumping was born in 1860 when Norwegian Sondre Norheim, built the first measured jump and flew 30 metres. That record held for more than three decades. Ski jumping is a sport where skiers go down a ramp, jump, attempt to fly as far as possible, and land safely. Judges give points to skiers for proper technique and style, but those points do not add much to the total as the distance contributes to the majority of the scoring. Over the last 100 years, ski jumping has changed enormously due to the new technology made available. The modern sport involves a extreme amount of practice, patience and confidence. The sport is very popular, but also very dangerous. Factors like wind can severely effect a skiers score. The top of the hill is the start. There is a bar at the top that the jumper sits on while they are waiting and getting ready. Once ready, the ski jumper will lean forward and will naturally start accelerating down the pre made path on the platform. The in run usually has an angle of 38o to 36o, which then turns into the jump at the end of the run. The end of the run usually has an angle between 7o and 12o downhill. The No Child Left Behind Act Of 2001 ( Nclb ) The No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB) is a United States Act of Congress that is a reauthorization of the Elementary and Secondary Education Act, which included Title I, the government s flagship aid program for disadvantaged students. No Child Left behind was enacted with the intent to become a government aid program for disadvantaged students, and eventually raise the general education standards for the United States. This act was created with the idea to close the achievement gap with accountability, flexibility, and choice, so that no child is left behind (ESEA) to put most simply. The act serves to only require certain basic skills, but does not have any national achievement standards, as it is decided on by each individual state. The bill was signed into effect by George W. Bush in January of 2002. Many people, opposers and supporters alike, argue that it is a one size fits all approach to education and teaching that puts too much emphasis on testing and doesn t fund schools properly, making it nearly impossible to achieve success. The law was initially designed to introduce national standards to a system in which students in some demographic groups were more likely to succeed and others likely to be left behind. But it allows states to determine how success is measured, which could be the source of its downfall. The problems with NCLB seem to be endless. The biggest, and most easily solved, is the lack of a plan. NCLB was enacted with several goals: All ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

All of these actions by the U.S. Government have greatly increased its reliance on foreign investors to fund both large budget and trade deficits. Increased trade deficits can be concerning, but it is the United State s large budget deficits that are concerning the worldwide leaders. The trade deficit is a reflection of the United States rapid growth compared to other countries along with the continued injection of foreign funds into the U.S. due to the dollar being the reserve currency (Carbaugh, 2011). A portion of the trade deficit is a result of a capital surplus and not a reflection of an imbalance in the U.S. economy. In other words, the budget deficit is due to a structural imbalance as the U.S. is spending beyond their means. Due to the $14 trillion deficit, the United States has had to print more dollars to support their financial responsibilities. Foreign countries and investors have concerns that the U.S. will be confronted with financial difficulties in the future which will result in the depreciation of the dollar and also increased inflation. • 39. Proven Guilty Regarding whether the defendant CJ can be charged with Murder , depends on several different factors. In front of the law CJ is not legally able to be charged with criminal responsibility, being only thirteen and not above fourteen years of age. Thus, in this situation, Doli Incapax acts as a rebuttable presumption. This essentially means that because of CJs age, his behaviour is under the context of being incapable or unable to form an intent to commit a crime . Nevertheless, an assumption is made by a court that CJ is innocent until proven guilty . This statement is valid, unless and until the other party strongly contests the decision, and proves otherwise. Rebuttable presumptions are regularly linked with Prima Facie evidence, which involves evidence that is set before the trial. This kind of proof is extremely important, as it needs to sufficiently prove the defendant s claim, unless there is substantial inconsistent evidence presented at trial favouring the prosecutor. As the Children law states, the test for Doli Incapax involves prosecution must rebut the presumption of doli incapax as an element of the prosecution case, the child knew the act was seriously wrong as opposed to naughty, and the evidence relied upon by the prosecution must be strong and clear beyond all ... The women in her family believed that if she acted right, she would be given a better and more equal opportunity at an education as the white children. One day, when Bebe acted out in class, her mother was called, but instead of being punished, her mother was more embarrassed at the fact that she allowed other (white) kids to see her act that way.
