Escape From Alcatraz ( 1979 ) Directed By Don Siegel
The legendary film, Escape from Alcatraz (1979) directed by the famous iconic movie maker, Don
Siegel, tells a riveting story about three close inmates and their highly thought out escape plan.
Frank Morris, played by the famous Clint Eastwood, is transported to the most solid and uptight
prison, Alcatraz, in San Francisco, California. He is transferred from a prisonin Atlanta, Georgia
and booked into Alcatraz on January 18, 1960. Upon his arrival, the prison warden informs
Morris that no one has ever escaped Alcatraz. He lets Morris know that many have tried to
escape, but they were never successful. As a warning to Morris, the warden states that no one will
ever escape under his supervision. Morris in turn uses this statement from the warden as his
motivation to once again escape from prison. Morris has previously escaped every prison he has
been placed in, and this happens to be the reason for his transfer to Alcatraz. Two other inmates,
Clarence and John Anglinwho are biological brothers, assist in the notorious escape and manage to
flee alongside Morris. Clarence and John Anglin are played by the actors Frank Ward and Jack
Thibeau. The brothers were not transported to Alcatraz Island until months after Frank Morris had
been transferred and booked. However, the three friendmates were tight acquaintances in the
Atlanta, Georgia prison. The movie and the characters tell the true and unruly story of the escape
from the most secure prison in the United States known as

The Definition Of Rational Thought
There are several different types of ways of thinking, which undergoes diverse processes. One of
the approaches is rational thought, which is one of the key factors to science (Gauch, 2003). The
science is a particular area proving theories by reasoning (Giere, Bickle, and Mauldin, 2006). Whilst
there have been several examinations related to means people think rationally, it seems to be
important to understand what rational thoughtis; furthermore, the approach can be an influential
factor in academic fields. In this essay, the domain, Urban Design, will be examined as a sample.
Before examining how rational thought is employed in Urban Design field, this essay will describe
the definition of rational thought.
When people think, there are two types of ways of thinking; System 1 and System 2 (Kahneman,
2012). He states that System 1, called fast thinking, is decision making process without an explicit
evaluation, through the process, an idea would be produced intuitively, which is unconscious,
uncontrolled and almost effortless. Besides, Dewey (1933) described tree types of thinking
approaches as effortless means. One of them is unconscious thinking, which is applied in the
situations: being sleep and awake, it is considered that there would be not much or important or
helpful production of this type of thinking. Another one is imagining thinking, which does not exist,
is not an object. The imagination can result in a conclusion for thinker; nonetheless, it is not always

Stolen Generation Essay
The Stolen Generation was a group of tragic people in Australian history, they are the victims of the
White Australian policy pursued by the Australian government at the beginning of the 20th century.
The apology to the Stolen Generations was the first conducted in Parliament by Kevin Rudd and it
established a path to resolving the historical injustice which was fully controlled by the government
(Reilly, 2009). This paper will reflect on my experience of the lecture from Ivan Clarke on the
Stolen Generation and identify strategies I could use when teaching the Stolen Generationsto
secondary students.
Learning
I immgranted to Australia with my family when I was 15. In Year 10 History class, I knew there
s a group of people called the Stolen Genereation. We had one lesson on the Stolen Generation,
learned about the timeline and discussed some Aboriginal Heros in sports. It was a historical
event for me until I heard Ivan s story. It was a distressed time for me during the lecutre. Before
15 year old, I lived seperatly with my parents, I can understand how it feels when a child been
removed from their parents. Upwards of 50,000 indigenous children were removed from their
families. These children were suffered great psychological trauma. They may be able to go home,
but they can not return to their childhood; they may be able to reunite with parents and loved ones
again, but the time has passed. After the lecture, I realized that they can go home again, but the

What Is The History Of Betty Friedan And The Feminist...
Throughout history, many women have engaged in playing a bigger role in the society. They
have strived for expansion of their power in the nation. The greatest battle for them was in the
1960s. There were very limited things they could do. A woman at this time period was expected
to get married by the age of 20 and dedicate the rest of her life to her husband and homemaking.
She was expected a lot only to take care of her kids and husband. They had no legal right to her
husband earning or property but the husband had legal rights to his wife properties. They were
never welcomed to professional jobs like doctor, lawyer, and engineer. Even if they did get a job
they were discriminated and paid really low wages. They were never given the opportunities to
achieve jobs that would pay them higher because they thought they would be pregnant and quit the
jobs and they do not have a family that needs financial support, unlike males. All of these caused the
feminist movement where they fought for more freedom for girls and less restriction put into them.
Betty Friedan who was born in February 4,1921in Peoria Illinois. She was an American writer,
Activist, and feminist. In 1966, she was co founded and elected as the first president of the National
Organization for women, which is also referred to as (NOW). The main goal of the organization
was to bring women into the equal level as the men s in the American society. Friedan was the main

Infertility Fertility Benefits
Infertility is a heart breaking condition, which affects about 15 percent of the population of those
who are trying to conceive. Though the statistics vary, between 30 50 percent of these cases of
fertility are due to the male. This can be because of damaged sperm, low semen volume, or
difficulty maintaining an erection. Though infertilityis more common in older males, it can happen
to men of younger ages too. Many couples become so desperate to have a child that they turn to in
vitro fertilization after a year or more of trying with no success. This is very expensive though. A
much less costly option is to try fertilitysupplements instead. Some of the most popular ones to
take are the following:
L Arginine
This amino acid has numerous health benefits because of its ability to improve blood flow and
relax constricted blood vessels. Many heart patients take it to help prevent another heart attack
from occurring if they have previously had one before. Just as it helps increase heart flow
through the heart, it can do the same for a man who is struggling with maintaining an erection.
More blood flow to the genitals also increases their libido, and the more a couple has sex, the
more likely conception can take place. L Arginine also has a positive effect on sperm quality and
production. When taken by a man who has intercourse with his ... Show more content on

Not only does it improve their immune system, but it also reduces obesity, which is a major
contributor to infertility. The fatty acids within coconut oil balance a man s hormone levels too.
This is especially important for those who have low testosterone or androgen, which could be
affecting their sexual health. It is very important to mention that coconut oil should be taken only
as a supplement internally if one wishes to increase fertility. If it is applied externally to the genital

Technology And Systems Administration Has Prompted...
As indicated by Kizza (2013), the fast development of systems administration has prompted
expanded security dangers. A large portion of these dangers are an aftereffect of hacking, uncalled
for employments of system assets and system gadget vulnerabilities. Familiarity with the different
shortcomings and vulnerabilities is fundamental to the achievement of current systems (Kizza,
2013).
The system security occurrences are expanding at an exasperating rate each year. As the
multifaceted nature of these dangers expands, so do the efforts to establish safety required to
secure systems. Endeavor server farm administrators and investigators, arrange directors and in
addition other server farm specialists need to comprehend the standards of security so as to
securely convey and oversee organizes today.
Defenselessness Assessment
Vulnerabilities
Laurie (2002) characterizes defenselessness as shortcoming that is profoundly installed in each
system and gadget and along these lines hard to evacuate. Such gadgets incorporate switches,
workstations, switches, servers and in addition the security gadgets themselves. Vulnerabilities in
system security can be considered as the easy objectives inside each system. These vulnerabilities
are available in the whole system framework (LAN organize, singular gadgets and ISP) that make
up the system (Laurie, 2002).
Systems are by and large confronted with all or a portion of the key vulnerabilities or shortcomings
to be specific;

Difference Between New England And Chesapeake Colonies
During the Ages of Exploration, various European nations, such as Spain, French and England,
created colonies in the newly discovered America. England, in particular, created settlements near
the East coast of North America. The reason behind the rapid expansion and colonization was the
idea of mercantilism. Mercantilism is when the mother country, England, exports more than it
imports. The colonies were responsible for bringing the raw materials to the mother country, where
it was turned into finished goods and then be exported. Mercantilism was believed to be a zero sum
game, which meant that if one country had something, other countries could not take it. Since
Spain already had various settlementsin the New World, England wanted to compete with them and
gain land to become more economically advanced. Two particular regions of settlement for the
English colonies were the Chesapeake region and New England. The Chesapeake region include
present day Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The New England region included Massachusetts
Bay Colony, Plymouth, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Although they were both English colonies,
they had developed distinct societies. People left England to go to the New World for different
reasons. Whether it was for religious or for political reasons, it had caused the two regions of
settlement to differ from each other in the colonies social, political, religious, and economic aspects.

The Impact Of Sports On Women s Sports
Traditionally men have dominated the world of sports however in recent year s women s sports
have become popular and with their new found popularity, women s sports have evolved into
marketable leagues of their own. Although women s sports took a huge leap forward, women
players still don t receive the same financial compensation for playing the same sports in the same
arenas as their male counterparts. In Purse Snatching by Donna Lopiano, she points out sexism may
have a huge effect on this financial discrepancy between women and men athletes. Analyzing sports
economics may point to a different reason why women are receiving such a compensation disparity.
Women sports have come a long way, since the days when women were only allowed to watch.
The past three decades have witnessed a steady growth in women s sports programs in America
along with a remarkable increase in the number of women athletes (Daniel Frankl 2) From an
early age women were thought to be Lady Like ; they are told not to get all sweaty and dirty. Over
200 years later since Maud Watson stepped on the tennis courts of Wimbledon (Sports Media

Soccer fans saw Mia Hamm become the face of Women s soccer around the world , Venus and
Serena Williams are two of the most popular figures in tennis, and Indy car racing had their first

April 21, 2011
ABSTRACT
The Brassica rapa is a rapid growing plant that has a standard form and a mutant rosette form.
Relative to normal plants, the rosette form is shorter and takes longer to flower. The mode of
inheritance of the rosette gene was tested by crossing two true breeding plants, one of each form.
The F1 generation was then cross pollinated to produce an F2 generation. The phenotypes of each
generation were recorded and a chi square test was performed. The F1 offspring were almost

After a week, the phenotypes of the plants were recorded in Table 2. The strongest plant in each
cell was left in the quad, and the others were removed in order to thin the plants.
Pollinating Flowers The plants were continually monitored and watered when needed. At
approximately two weeks from the day the seeds were planted, several flowers were open on the
plants. The plants were then cross pollinated using a pollinating wand. The pollen from one plant
was transferred to another, using approximately eight flowers. This was done three different days
with one day in between. After the third pollination, the unopened buds were removed. The plants
were kept watered, and the new buds and shoots were removed for the next 14 days.
Harvesting Seeds Once 14 days had passed from the day of the third pollination, the quad was
removed from the watering tray and left to dry for a week. Then, the dry seed pods were removed
and cracked open so that the seeds could be collected.
Germinating Seeds A piece of filter paper was moistened and then placed in a petri dish, and any
excess water was poured off. The harvested seeds were then placed in neat rows on the upper two
thirds of the filter paper. The petri dish was then tilted on end in a water reservoir containing
approximately two centimeters of water. The reservoir and dish were then placed under the
fluorescent light to germinate for 48 hours. After the 48 hours, the

Dangerous Liaisons By Pierre Ambroise Laclos
It is true that in the old times women did not have equal rights as men. Men had more social and
political freedom comparing to women, and the system was organized on men. It took a really
long time for women to gain at least some equality. In the book Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre
Ambroise Laclos there are many examples of women having much less rights comparing to men
in the 18th century. Back then, women simply couldn t do what men could simply because they
were women and they weren t considered as powerful as men were. Women had to do more
things in order for them to do the same things as men. For example, if women wanted to have an
affair it had to be kept secret and no one was supposed to find out about it, because if someone did

So the author can also hide Cecile s true feeling because she doesn t want everyone to know that
she was raped. This would make her life in the future miserable, because none of the men would
want to marry her, since back then men wanted to have pure wives. Another part of this
argument is that Valmont said that since he had the key to Cecile s room, people would believe
him rather then her. Cecile states that in the letter to Madame de Merteuil: ...he was careful to
tell me that, if anyone came, he would know how to put all the blame on me; and, indeed, it was
very easy, because of the key. (letter 97, page 148). That could be true the people would believe
Valmont rather than Cecile because of the key, but Cecile could have also brought up that she
gave him the key because she wanted him to bring the letters from Danceny, since Cecile s
mother already knew that Cecile was writing to Danceny before. This could have saved her from
the rape from Valmont. But because she didn t not do that, I do not believe that the scene with
Valmont seduction of Cecile, could be considered as rape. This can also be showed how women
had much less rights because people were more likely believe Valmont rather than Cecile if
something was to come up about that seduction. Cecile wasn t able to share it with anyone
except for Madame de Merteuil because she knew she basically had no rights and her life would
be over. On the other hand Valmont was happy to share that he had an affair with Cecile because it
was an accomplishment for him, even though it was not as big as his usual

According to Friedman, some jobs are lost to the outsource (some to China, some to India), he

Hudson Analysts show that 20% of U.S manufacturing workers now have jobs that depend on
exports. So the workers will not only compete with their counterparts across town or in other parts
of the U.S, but also with workers around the globe. Then Employment growth, meanwhile, will
remain concentrated in services, which also will benefit increasingly from export markets and will
offer high salaries for skilled workers. And For those who maintain and improve their skills, the
changes should bring increasing rewards, but it will be traumatic for those who fall behind the
skills curve and resist retraining. Last, the changing is affected by some other aspect such as Ages,
Ethnic Diversification and Digitizing. Thomas L. Friedman said that most jobs in U.S now is

Essay on The Rape of the Lock
The Rape of the Lock
Alexander Pope s mock heroic epic The Rape of the Lock appears to be a light subject addressed
with a satiric tone and structure. Pope often regards the unwanted cutting of a woman s hair as a
trivial thing, but the fashionable world takes it seriously. Upon closer examination Pope has,
perhaps unwittingly, broached issues worthy of earnest consideration. The Rape of the Lock at first
glance is a commentary on human vanity and the ritual of courtship. The poem also discusses the
relationship between men and women, which is the more substantial matter in particular. Pope
examines the oppressed position of women. Infringement on a woman s personal space, her person
and her pride by an aggressive male (the Baron) ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Belinda s strength is her physical appearance. Pope mocks the importance placed on appearance
as he compares a hero s donning of armour to Belinda s being made up at her dressing table;
Here files of pins extend their shining rows, Puffs, powders, patches, Bibles, billet doux. Now
awful Beauty puts on all its arms... (I, 137 39)
We see a woman ready to go into the battle of the sexes whom the Baron (her opponent) already
regards as a threat. Specifically, her beauty is a threat in that it empowers Belinda and means he
may have to compete with other men for her affection. The idea of a woman holding power of
any sort over a man attacks the male ego or at least threatens the Baron s ego. He is
Resolved to win, or by fraud betray; For when success a lover s toil attends, Few ask if fraud or
force attained his ends. (II, 31 33)
The Baron will either have the lock, or destroy any power she possesses with it. The war Pope
illustrates between men and women continues with the playing of the card game. Instead of
fighting on the traditional battlefield Belinda plays cards against the Baron, eager to meet him on
his own terms:
Belinda now, whom thirst of fame invites, Burns to encounter two adventurous knights, At

Saul Bellow Seize the Day the Water Imagery
Water Imagery in Seize the Day
Saul Bellow s Seize the Day is one of the most profoundly sad novels to be written since Tender is
the Night. On this day of reckoning, during the seven hours or so that comprise the action of the
novel, all the troubles that constitute the present condition of Wilhelm Adler descend upon him
and crush him, leaving him penniless, alone, and in such profound misery that one can hardly
imagine his going on. He is, as he says, at the end of his rope. This has been one of those days, he
says to his wife, May I never live to go through another like it. We feel that he may not live at all,
so great is his misery, so completely has he been destroyed.
Yet if we look more deeply, more accurately, we see that the... Show more content on

They were his brothers and sisters. He was imperfect and disfigured himself, but what difference
did that make if he was united with them by this blaze of love? And as he walked he began to say,
Oh my brothers my brothers and my sisters, blessing them all as well as himself.
Although such feelings never last long and are usually fled from rather than welcomed, on this day
of reckoning he remembers this experience and thinks, I must go back to that. That s the right clue
and may do me the most good. Something very big. Truth, like.
This affirmation, feeble as it is, constitutes his own dim recognition of the saving end of what
more often appears to him as a destructive element his own intensely emotional nature. He
continually blames his failures on his strong and often uncontrollable emotions; yet we are finally
made aware that it is just this capacity to feel, more specifically this need to love and be loved,
that makes possible the birth of Wilhelm s soul at the end of the novel. Ultimately, the clearest
indication that the action of Seize the Day is ironic is found in Bellow s attitude toward man s
emotional nature, not just as revealed in this novel but throughout his writing. That Bellow is in the
tradition of the great English Romantic poets Wordsworth in particular in this respect has been
brilliantly argued by Irvin Stock in [The Southern Review, Winter 1967].
Understanding the structure of Bellow s novel to be ironic, we are now able to state its major

Gender Inequality Of Equal Pay For Women
Introduction:
On January 29, 2016, The White House Press Office released a FACT SHEET on new steps to
advance equal pay for women. This FACT SHEET states that,
the median wage of a woman working full time all year in the United States is about $39,600 only
79 percent of a man s median earnings of $50,400 (The White House, 2016).
However, many scholars and economists disagree that a gender wage gap exists. In addition,
conservative political experts and bloggers promote the notion that gender based wage gap is an
idea propagated by feminists, women empowering organizations, and progressives. However,
almost all the working women in the United States, and organizations such as Institute for Women s
Policy Research (IRWP), and American Association of University Women (AAAU), strongly
believe in the existence of the gender wage gap.
This sociological issue of equal pay for women is extremely relevant in today s environment
where women perform equal work as men in many occupations. Furthermore, with almost 50% of
the work force being women, women contributing equally to the family income, and a large
number of women being the single parents supporting children, lack of equal pay over time could
increase the poverty rates for women (White House, 2016). In addition, IWPR s 2015 report on
the status of American women, states that if women receive equal pay for the same work, the
poverty rate among women will see a reduction from 8.2% to 4%, an almost 50% reduction (Hess et

Epic Poem Parody
In the world of literature and poetry, it s typically not hard to find something written about a
hero, or something heroic, like an epic. Epics are long poems, typically told orally in ancient
times, about the adventures of a hero or heroine and their deeds. The Iliad should immediately
come to the mind of any student proficient in western literature. Nonetheless, the themes and
archetypes of these works known as epics are so well known, that they are even parodied, take
completely out of context, and pasted on the wall for laughs. One of the most recognized
parodies of this kind would be Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock. The Rape of the Lock is
a story about taking a minor incident and satirizing it by making it into a huge and important epic
of divine proportions. One might think of the phrase a tempest in a teapot , which perfectly
describes this poem. In the poem, the main character, a girl named Belinda, has her hair
unwillingly cut by a baron, and the struggle to regain her lost hair even pulls in mythical creatures
like sylphs to describe this epic poem. Pope was actually asked to write something like this in order
to reconcile two Catholic families, as the hair cutting fiasco was based off a real event that caused
bad blood between the two aforementioned families. The man who requested the poem, John
Caryll, hoped that if the two families could laugh about the whole thing, they would put the whole
thing behind them and end their estrangement (Rippy, n.p.).

Technology Negatively Impacting Education
Technology Negatively Impacting Education
In today s world, there is no uncertainty that technology has grown to be a part of our daily life.
Although everyone s opinion is different, some may say it is positively impacting education while
others say its negatively impacting education. According to the articles Texting and Writing by
Michaela Cullington and Wikipedia: Write First, Ask Questions Later by Dennis Baron, appear to
believe that technology is negatively affecting education. Technology can negatively impact one s
education by the ability to use proper grammar, inhibiting writing skills, and just being plain out
lazy.
Grammar is defined as the way sentences of a language are constructed. In the article Texting and
Writing it states how teachers have reported findings that students are using abbreviations for
words such as 2 for to or gr8 for great (404). Being in the habit of texting and using abbreviations
can cause students not to use proper grammar that should be used in formal writing. Another

It s simply a way of interacting with someone. According to the article Texting and Writing by
Michaela Cullington, many say that text messages lack emotion (405). This is because text
messages have a tendency to be short, concise, and to the point (405). Not implying emotion or
showing how someone feels about a particular situation the other person that is being
communicated with has to assume how that person is feeling, which can be difficult at times.
Another example is that one English teacher believes that the texting language is second nature to
her students (404). Because of this second nature language, people are so used to writing in that
type of way they don t even recognize that they are doing it. Being in the habit of writing in a

This essay will argue that white people were violently racist towards African Americans in the south
because the threat of them succeeding economically, educationally, and socially created
competition for things that whites felt they were entitled to. Jim Crow laws were created as a way
to control the success of African Americans and prevent them from reaching their full potential in
society. Evidence of their actions proves this in the laws they made, the ways they treated them, and
the words said about them. Whites felt entitled to these things because they viewed themselves as
supreme .
The threat of African Americans succeeding economically motivated white southerners to act out.
For three centuries, African Americans did all of the hard work for white farmers, so they were
ahead of the farming game. They had outstanding knowledge of how to grow crops and the best
way to do it. Whites felt entitled to being superior, so they wanted to eliminate competition for
successful farmers. In Burke County, Georgia, an African Americanfarmer reported that his acreage
of land was reduced by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) committee
so that his white neighbor could acquire more land. These acts of blatant racism were nearly
impossible to fight back on, because whites had such a tight grip on what African Americans could
do. Laws were made that told African Americans what they could do, and most importantly, what
they could not do. Educational

Disaster in Franklin County
The Role of Health Personnel and the Public Nurse
The major role of the public health personnel in a disaster are varied and included the immediate
safety and well being of the members of the community, as well as attention to potential future long
term issues. The public health nurse is one of the members of the public health personnel that
would help as a member of strike or task force or even possibly as an individual entity, depending
on the need. In this disaster the public health personnel had to deal with multiple problems both

Additionally they had help from the command center to set up temporary shelters, with bedding,
food and clothing for those being evacuated. This give the nurse a place to visit resident and
establish their needs and mental status as it relates to the tragedy. The nurse can then create a
plan of care with the rest of the team to best serve the residents that are displaced. The nurse is
put on a task force with fire, public works and public health to conduct door to door interviews.
The nurse was presented with several situations on her door to door that were not related to her
scope of practice. Her assessment of the situation, her communication and action is critical to
improving the conditions of these residents. What she does and does not do, is very important to
her success. Initially the community nurse came across a gentleman that had flooding in his
basement, and a shelf in his shed that created a mixed household chemicals spill. The nurse will
help the resident by getting him and the other residence information on how to clean up after a
flood by sending this need back to the command center. She will also alert her command that a visit
from an Environmental Health Specialist to this home is required to handle the chemical spill issue
which is beyond her scope of practice. The satisfaction that the needs of this resident have

Auto Bailout
Should Obama Bail Out the Auto Industry?
Context and Situations
By November 2008, Chrysler s sales had shrunk 25%. GM posted losses of $18 billion, and Ford
lost $11.5 billion. Despite Ford s elimination of 1/3 of its workforce, GM s elimination of 30,000
jobs, and Chrysler s cutting of 13,000 employees, the Big Three were on the brink of bankruptcy.
All three testified before both houses of congress asking for loans to avoid default. The Big Three
stated their demise would trigger 3 million layoffs within a year, plunging the economy further into
recession.
The purpose of the loans was to provide operating cash for GM and Chrysler, and to keep making
auto loans available for car buyers. Ford Credit planned to use funds from ... Show more content on

The question is: Did the government structure the financing correctly?
The government decided to take an equity stake at GM and thus was facing the possibility that a
substantial amount of these funds would never be repaid. The government has already written
off or realized losses of over $7 billion as of April 2012[2]. More losses will come as the
government sells its remaining stake in GM and Ally Financial. The Congressional Budget Office
estimates that the auto bailout will ultimately cost taxpayers a total of about $20 billion[3]. The
Treasury Department is even more pessimistic, projecting that, at GM s current stock price,
taxpayers will lose $23 billion[4].
Consequences
Consequence for the labor unions: In an opinion editorial published by The Detroit News, Mitt
Romney not only attacks the way the administration handled the bailout of General Motors Co. and
Chrysler Group LLC, but argues that the United Auto Workers(UAW) union benefited from the
bankruptcies in wake of contributing millions to Democrats and Barack Obama s campaign.
This spending greatly benefited the UAW and its members. Without the Administration s
intervention, a smaller bailout would have required incumbent UAW members, not just new
employees, to accept pay and benefit cuts. Average labor costs would have fallen to the same levels
as the foreign transplants, approximately $47 an hour. While this is still substantially higher
compensation than the average

Essay On The Undertaker
The Undertaker is without a doubt the single most iconic figure in the history of professional
wrestling. A mixture of talent, time, and sheer dedication to craft and character has pushed him
beyond the ranks of Hulk Hogan and The Rock, and he will surely be remembered as the greatest
of all time whenever he decides to hang up his boots. Mark Calaway, the man behind the Undertaker
character, is an old school guy and has broken character only on rare occasions over the years.
While that s great news for those who believe kayfabe is a lost art, it means fans have not been able
to get close to The Undertaker in the way they have been able to get close to the likes of Shawn

The Undertaker and Triple H have had their problems over the years. Taker did not take kindly to
the infamous Curtain Call when Hunter, along with his fellow Kilq members, broke kayfabe to
have a pseudo emotional moment in the ring with Kevin Nash and Scott Hall, who were leaving
for WCW.
However, several years later, when Triple H was pushed to the main event, he began to win The
Deadman over. The pair had a series of stellar encounters and together they saw their
contemporaries drop off one by one. Eventually, The Undertaker and Triple H were left as the last
of a dying breath and were entrusted with maintaining order in the locker room.
The pair shared a genuine emotional moment after their match at WrestleMania XXVII, with both
men admitting they had their doubts if they could still go inside the ring and thanking the other for
bringing out the best in them.

Argumentative Essay On Net Neutrality
Net Neutrality is a widely debated topic that comes with not only great support but also logical
opposition. While looking at net neutrality you must consider several ideas that impact the topic.
Before looking at any ideas though, you must first understand what net neutrality is. First, it is an
abbreviation of network neutralitywhich is the idea, principle, or requirement that Internet service
providers should or must treat all Internet data as the same regardless of its kind, source, or
destination as stated by the Merriam Webster Dictionary. A few of those ideas previously
mentioned are how will the consumers, economy, internet service providers, content providers, and
others be impacted by having net neutrality or taking away net neutrality. Appealing net neutrality
and how it would occur is another very large topic. How difficult that would be is very important.
Net neutrality is a subject that has so many influential factors that it is hard to come to a single
right answer, and that is why the thorough research of this issue is so greatly needed.
Net Neutrality is an argument that has been highly debated for years, but in the past several months
it has come back contentious as ever. To give a bit of background, you should know that the FCC is
an acronym for the Federal Communications Commission. It is a government committee that

Equal Outcomes vs. Equal Opportunities Essay
Equal Outcomes vs. Equal Opportunities
Description: If you take all the change out of your pocket and look at the tail side of each coin you
will find written in Latin the motto of the United States of America; e pluribus
Unum . It states : out of many, one . This statement suggests that there are many different cultures
that comprise our country, and all these cultures are as one. The United
States political system has enacted numerous policies in order to ensure the equality promised by
this motto among all the people of this Nation. Due to the discrimination that is sadly, still a part of
this society, blacks, Indians (of both vernaculars), Hispanics, women, gays, and the disabled are
sometimes denied the opportunity to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Equal Outcome policies have made sure that all races, creeds, and peoples with disabilities are
proportionally represented in the work place. This has sent a message to the minority that it is
possible to for their group to succeed in a given workforce, thus giving them motivation to strive
for the best and eventually eliminating the need for an equal outcome policy. With the
implementation of such equal outcome policies, in time the workplace will become a equal
opportunity for everyone. With the rise of equal outcome/equal opportunity policies, many
problems have risen, however, that present a detriment to egalitarianism. Equal opportunity
policies all too often go too far and focus more on equal outcome policies such as quotas. Quotas
are hiring based on the percentage of a certain minority in a community. For instance, if there are
two percent Asians, and ten percent Hispanics in an area, then a company will hire two percent
Asians, and ten percent Hispanics. This is unfavorable because if a company has a position open
and needs Asians to fulfill its quotas, they will pass over a more qualified white male to hire the
Asian and meet its requirement. Though equal outcomes strives to eliminate discrimination, it
forces employers to discriminate against a possibly more qualified individual in order to meet a
quota.

Essay On The Frog And The Toad
I found excellence and flaws in the acting, technical elements, and even the playwright of the play
The Frog and the Toad. I was pleased with the message of the play and the overall performance of
actors. However, there were a few things that I felt could be improved on in future plays.
The performance of the snail in The Frog and the Toad play was the one I liked the most because
the actor was very convincing and seemed to suit his character perfectly. The snail was
convincing because he walked very slowly and had a squeaky voice, which are some
characteristics that a snail would be expected to have. He spoke and sang very clearly, which the
voice he played the snail part in fit the character very well. He connected with the audience ... Show

By the same token, I really liked how the costumes of Turtle and Snail were also distinct and had
unique characteristics of their real nature. For example, Turtle s costume included a large
backpack on the back of the actor, which to the audience, was perceived as a large shell. Snail s
unique costume included a rolled up sleeping bag strapped on his back, which to the audience, was
perceived as a snail shell.
However, some technical elements that I didn t like was the dark blue long fabric and the blue
see through long fabric used in the set when Frog and Toad are swimming in the pond and when
Toad looks for Frog on and island. These fabrics and the way they are handled look very tacky
and poor quality. It would have made it better if the fabric was not see through and if the people
behind the bushes or rocks that were moving the fabric, to make it appear as if the water were
moving, moved the long fabrics more fluently, and not in a jerky manner.
The set was changed very effectively throughout the play. I liked how every time the curtains
were put down, there was a either a solo or miniature performance in the front or just music to
distract the audience for a quick second while the set was being rearranged. I felt like that helped
the play flow because it didn t stop at every scene, distract the audience, and unengage them from
the play. I liked the

Considering I usually care for adults aged 18 and up, while caring for this patient I changed my
approach. Due to the age of this patient, I found myself explaining the plan of care not only to the
patient but to his mother as well. I have conflicting views on the child s treatments and had set my
beliefs aside; as I know that ethnocentrism is not effective in the nursing care. The interventions I
used with this patient were given without judgment, simply discharge orders suggested by the
doctor and medication education. In this case, I had to explain to the patient and his family that
the doctor felt the herbs the child was taking, could possibly be causing him harm. I explained that
the herbs may have resulted in a higher than normal pulse, which is hard on his heart and not
supplying proper blood flow throughout the body which in turn decreases the oxygen saturation
level. By asking the family to discontinue the child s herbal medicine, I felt I was going against
their cultural beliefs.
The next intervention I implemented with this patient was addressing a lifestyle adjustment, as the
child is overweight and appears overwhelmed with his studies. I encouraged the patient to eat a
healthy diet with written guidelines and stressed the importance of implementing a daily exercise
routine into his life.

Effects Of The Reconstruction Era
The Reconstruction era was the period that followed the end of the Civil War whose purpose was
to reconstruct the United States. This was done to help rebuild the South and bring it back into the
Union. The 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments gave African Americans some civil liberties, they
prohibited slavery, gave national citizenship for every person that was born in the United States,
and voting rights can not be denied because of their race or color. Looking at this era, I will discuss
how it affected the society of the Americans, the economy and the laws that were passed. Although
the Reconstruction Era tried to help from the end of the Civil War into the early twentieth century it
resulted a failure to establish the civil rights for the African Americans.
The Americans in the South felt humiliated and were against the decision of the government to give
certain rights given to the African Americans. For this reason, many whites joined some groups
who were against the freed slaves such as the Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan was a political
terrorist group whose purpose was to intimidate the black Americans after the 15th amendment was
ratified and they were given the right to vote. The Klan had just appeared there in 1868, using
intimidation, arson, whippings, sexual assault, and murder to keep potential Republican voters
away from the polls in that year s election (Political Terrorism during Reconstruction, 1). This shows
the actions that this social group took to terrorize the Black Americans to avoid their participation
in the elections. In April 1865, before his assassination Abraham Lincoln declared that he had hope
that there would be no bloody work after the war, but most of it visited upon the freedman as
Northerners and Southerners black and white struggled over ... the place of African Americans in
American society (The Meaning of Reconstruction, 302). The Americans in the South were not
happy with the integration of the African Americans to their society.
After all the damage that was left over from the war, the goal of the Reconstruction Era was to
bring the economy of the South back to how it was before the war started. The 13th amendment
prohibited slavery, so after this amendment was

My Love For Music Education

middle school where the notion of teaching music came to me. In high school, I knew the

Persuasive Essay On How To Tie
What comes to mind when you think of ties? We usually associate ties with professional
meetings, formal parties, or something that is really hard to tie and is going to choke us no
matter what. Ties date back to the 17th century, during the 30 year war in France. King Louis
XIII hired Croatian mercenaries who wore a piece of cloth around their neck as part of their
uniform. The purpose of neckties was to tie the top of their jackets, but also to have a decorative
effect. King Louis enjoyed it so much he made it a mandatory accessory for royal gatherings and
to honor the Croatian soldiers. I m sure that at some point, all of us have had to use a tie for
formal parties, meetings, or just because it is required in your uniform or attire. Did you know,
the most expensive tie ever made was for $220K. It had 271 diamonds and 150g gold (Tie A

These are some nursing interventions that may be implemented to increase the overall health status

Cynthia Morris Sherman, better known as Cindy Sherman, is a heavily renowned American

Sherman, made her message clear, depicting women s role throughout society. Commenting
extensively on
American sexism during the 1970s. Through this communication, her style was made clear,
allowing it to evolve in the future.
Firstly, it was essentially extremely eccentric, focusing heavily on the experimental movements of
the time period. This style all began through untitled stills, in which she is still most popular for to

Second off, her style was a complex, ever changing wheel of emotion. Sherman utilized self
portraiture as well as role playing, as shown previously in her untitled film stills. Often, these early
stills maintained a black and white aesthetic, not particularly focusing heavily on details, but rather
the reasoning for what was there as well as what it meant. This made ,most of the early stills very
bare bones to the point. This maintained a grounded level for each portrait, keeping the message
and character portrayed a little vague yet understandable with thought. The main common subject
among all of these images, Sherman is dead center. Due to the fact that these are self portraits, the
viewer s eyes always fall upon her, in which it s the same case among the untitled stills.
Thirdly, Sherman s technique may be one of the most unique throughout artistic history. Within her
work, an approach extremely influenced by portrait photography is present. Due to the fact of this,
she approached her portraits with a single feature in focus. She kept this same technique for the vast

Drug Trade and Addiction Grows Along with Rapid Growth of...
Along with the rapid growth of Chinese economy, the illicit drug trade and use regain attention
widely since three decades ago (Lu, Fang, Wang, 2008). According to the official reports, the
populati on of addicts has skyrocketed to more than 1 million in 21st century, while open sources
suspect the real number is as high as 12 million, which have casted profound impact on public
health including the widespread HIV/AIDS , while transnational illegal drug tradeare evolving from
traditional triad organizations to non triad networking, generating horrendous national security
problems as well as impairing international development (Chu Levy, 2005; Swanström He, 2006).
Regarding the public health threat and rampant cross border drugrelated crimes, China has annually

reveal the insufficiency of Chinese drug policy, embodying in three aspects incompatibility between
zero tolerance and harm reduction pursued by different governmental agencies respectively ,

Imperialism is the creation and maintenance of an unequal economic, cultural, and territorial
relationship, usually between states and often in the form of an empire, based on domination and
subordination. (Johnston 375) By the 1890s, many Americans leaders started to have new attitude
towards imperialistic adventures abroad. There were numerous reasons for the U.S. to turn to
Imperialism at the end of the 19th century, mainly the economic, political, strategic, and
humanitarian motives. Various industrialists as well as investors including bankers and the new
wealthy class feared that the United States would soon produce more than it ... Show more content

An initial indication for American attitudes toward the use of force abroad was demonstrated in
Hawaii. In 1893, encouraged by the Harrison administration and assisted by the U.S. Marines from
the cruiser Boston, pro American sugar planter overthrew Queen Liliuokalani and requested the
annexation of Hawaii by the U.S. After that, President Grover Cleveland sent a commission to
Hawaii to determine the wishes of the Hawaiian citizens concerning their future, Last but not least,
the idea of racial superiority from Social Darwinism and, ironically, the moral responsibility to
civilize and uplift the inferior races of Africa and Asia accounted for the increased American
interest in foreign frontiers in the 1890s. In his book Our Country, Josiah Strong stated that God
had appointed Anglo Saxons to be their brother s keeper. Furthermore, Kipling bolstered the idea of
the White Man s Burden , the duty of white people to help and educate people who lived in
undeveloped civilization . Senator Albert J. Beveridge of Indiana also suggested that the opening of
the frontier would free the American spirit. Right before the Spanish American War or the Cuban
War for Independence 1898, American public opinion was heavily influence by the Yellow Press .
Sensationalized stories about butcher Weyler and the horrendous human conditions in
concentration camps were published and spread throughout the U.S. For

Impassioned Love In Spain, By Neruda s War
The Way Spain Was expresses impassioned love for Spain as well as anguish for its abjection at
the hands of Fascist forces. The poem is part of the Third Residence, published in 1947, which
expresses Neruda s artistic camaraderie; his love for Spanish poetry which he believes unites
the coloniser with its colony. It was written as an outraged reaction to the civil strife and
political murders in Spain. It was inspired by Ruben Dario (1867 1916), a Latin American poet
who wrote politically charged verses. Neruda was livid and pained at the death of his friend,
Garcia Lorca and a number of other Republicans at the hands of anti democratic Fascist forces. He
tells us: The most intense memories, perhaps, are those of my life in Spain... destroyed... Show

The First line of the poem Jaut and dry Spain was sums up the poet s suffering without any succor.
Through a series of pictures and images the poet captures the atmosphere of those days. In the
second stanza of the poem the poet records his personal attitude towards Spain:

 How unto
cry out, unto the very soul
I love your barren soil and your rough bread,
Your stricken
people

Deep inside his heart the poet can still feel the life that has disappeared. He still
finds the essential Spain to be timeless which no political turmoil can ever change. He remembers
the mineral wealth of the country. Somehow, he feels, all this has been undone by a cruel and
unfeeling god.
The poem presents a picture of Spain, historically rich and glorious but torn by
strife at that time. The poet mourns the glorious past but at the same time emphasizes with the
suffering of its stricken people. Silence and isolation are reiterated in the poem. The contrast
inherent in the situation has been brought out by the description of the wine that is both harsh and
sweet, and again in the reference to the vineyards which are both delicate and

Sea Power In Ww2
The Battle of Midway affected the world in many ways and how sea power would affect the
Second World War. Sea power and strategy would affect the world in just a span of a couple of
days during the battle of midway. We had a severe disadvantage, so we used the power of our
carriers and luck to change history in a moment. McClusky and Waldron attacked miraculously
at the same time and destroyed the Kido Butai. We were losing the war, and we failed on many
attempts to win the battle early, but it was not working out. Europe was getting ravished and if
we lost this battle if would essentially affect the outcome of the war. It led America to spend more
resources on the Europe side of the war, and let Nimitz to create a force and lead his forces... Show

The Japanese sent subs to Dutch Harbor. They sent some of their forces to a Dutch Harbor
where a shipyard was and some minor forces were. They had 10 task forces that were sent to
midway, and the carriers were in the back. Before the battle had started, the Japanese stopped
communication between each other, they stopped the radio dialog between each other to stop the
chances of the Americans on hearing their plans. There was a fog of war that was over the
Japanese when they started this, they did not help each other, if the Americans mobilized to strike.
The Americans made a huge stride to victory when they figured out the messages from the
Japanese commander Admiral Yamamoto Isoroku, Japanese fleet commander, chose to invade a
target relatively close to Pearl Harbor to draw out the American fleet, calculating that when the
United States began its counterattack, the Japanese would be prepared to crush them. Instead, an
American intelligence breakthrough the solving of the Japanese fleet codes enabled Pacific Fleet
commander Admiral Chester W. Nimitz to understand the exact Japanese plans. Nimitz placed
available U.S. carriers in position to surprise the Japanese moving up for their preparatory air
strikes on Midway Island itself (John Prados).

Pride And Prejudice By George Wickham
Many works of literature contain a character who intentionally deceives others. The character s
dishonestly may be intended either to help or to hurt. In Pride and Prejudice, written by Jane
Austen, George Wickham deceives the characters within the novel. Wickham fooled the Bennet
family, especially Lydia, and attempted to fool Mr. Darcy and his young, innocent sister. Wickham
purposefully lied to these characters to benefit himself and continue to live in his lavish lifestyle. At
the beginning of the novel, Wickham was perceived as a well spoken and charming member of the
militia who readily gained the trust of Elizabeth Bennet. Elizabeth begins to like him and
eventually, she makes the mistake of trusting him. Wickham tricked Elizabeth... Show more content

The letter states that Darcy did provide Wickham with the money Darcy s father left for him,
but Wickham gambled away his money and was left with nothing, causing him to greedily ask
for more. When he was denied by Darcy, Wickham conjured up a plan to trick Georgiana, Darcy
s little sister, into marrying him. Wickham hoped to convince Georgina to elope with him so he
could steal her inheritance, which is the main reason for the hostility between Darcy and
Wickham. This letter reveals to Elizaebth how Wickham managed to infiltrate her life and
deceive her into falling for his charm. As seen in the letter, ...She tried to recollect some instance
of goodness, some distinguished trait of integrity or benevolence, that might rescue him from the
attacks of Mr. Darcy; or at least, by the predominance of virtue, atone for those casual errors
under which she would endeavour to class what Mr. Darcy had described as the idleness and vice
of many years continuance. But no such recollection befriended her... , Elizabeth tried to think of a
time where she felt as Wickham was a truly genuine and good person, but alas, she could not.

into two different descriptors: (1) local descriptors and (2) global descriptor. The global descriptor
used for separating the non objects blocks, while the local provides detailed objects information
which can be used in recognition application. It is mathematically calculated through dividing the

Random variables or vectors can be expressed by its entropy. MI is calculated by taking the
difference between entropy of a variable and the conditional entropy. It can be expressed as the
Kullback Leibler divergence between the product of marginal distributions $mu_{x}, mu_{y}$
and the product of marginal distribution $mu_{x,y}$. It s mathematically defined at Equ.
(ref{MI}). begin{equation}label{MI} MI(x,y)=int
mu_{x,y}(x,y)log{frac{mu_{x,y}(x,y)}{mu_{x}(x)mu_{y}(y)}} end{equation} where $x$
and $y$ are two independent variables, where $x$ is a feature vector/variable and $y$ is class label.
When the mutual information reaches to zero that means the higher dependency between $x$ and
$y$. The higher dependency means the higher mutual information. subsection{Statistical
Dependency} The main objective of statistical dependency (SD) is measuring the dependence of
feature values on the associated class labels cite{G3}. It also measure weather two feature vectors
are simply occurs by chance. SD is mathematically defined at Equ. (ref{SD}).

mu_{x,y}(x,y){frac{mu_{x,y}(x,y)}{mu_{x}(x)mu_{y}(y)}} end{equation} where $x$ is
discredited feature values and $y$ is the corresponding label. The higher SD, the higher
dependency between the feature value and its corresponding class label. When SD equals to 1 that
means the corresponding feature is fully independent of

The French Revolution In Haiti
Haiti splits the island of Hispaniola with its neighbor, the Dominican Republic in the Greater
Antilles of the Caribbean Sea. Established by Spain in 1492, control of Haiti was ceded to the
French and the island began to flourish under its new rulers. The slave trade played an enormous
part of the country s history, at the time accounting for nearly a third of the entire slave trade across
the Atlantic. Controlled for years by the French, Haitithen called Saint Domingue was the Pearl of
the Antilles, one of the richest islands in France s empire. In the 1780s, Haiti exported 60% of all
the coffee and 40% of all the sugar consumed in Europe: more than all of Britain s West Indian

Due to the ongoing French Revolution back at home, the war ended in 1803. The French simply
could not afford to be fighting two wars at once. On January 1, 1804, the first, and only, country
born of a slave revolt, was born. However, this was not the end of French involvement. France
demanded 150 million francs in reparations for the war in order to be recognized as a republic.
Von Tunzelmann, a contributor to the article by Henley, said that ...Haiti was paying reparations
to France from 1825 until 1947. It took out huge loans from American, German and French
banks. By 1900, Haiti was spending about 80% of its national budget on loan repayments. By
the time the original reparations and interest were paid off, the place was basically destitute and
trapped in a spiral of debt, (Henley, 2010). Tired of dealing with a failed government, another
revolution began in 1911. This revolution led to a long period of US occupation. Following
failed dictators, regimes, and governments, François ¬ Papa Doc Duvalier became the leader
of Haiti in 1957. His regime was one of darkness, death, and oppression, considered one of the

Race To Space Dbq
The race to space is a great part in history, well that is if you like space and the technology we
have today; it was initiated in 1957 and ended 1969. The space race was a race with the Soviet
Union, which at that time included Russia, Belarus, Ukraine and the Transcaucasion Federation, to
see who could get higher achievements in space knowledge and to see who could get man into
space first. The race to space was happening at the height of the Cold War. The Cold War was
fought between the Eastern and Western Bloc of Germany. This made people in the United States
worried because they didn t want the Soviets to use the technology for military uses such as
nuclear weapons. This thought spiked the fear of a nuclear war with the Soviets in America. Even

As stated in document A, the reaction of the Soviets launching Sputnik 1, which was the first ever
satellite sent in to space, was more fear than surprise because it then showed that the United States
ocean barriers weren t enough to keep the Soviet Union away. Also that the Americans could no
longer say that Russia was behind them in technology, as it took them 4 years to catch up with our
atomic bomb, 9 months for our hydrogen bomb, and now we are trying to catch up to their satellite
as stated in document B.
American s were also affected socially. The fear of having to use the fallout shelters, anti
Communism, and sense of imminent danger was everywhere; this was stated in document A. On
December 6, 1957 as the United States was preparing for the launch of Vanguard rocket,
everyone across the United States was watching, when the rocket fired up and began to rise it fell
back on to itself and erupted into flames. People were saddened because that was what we could

Escape From Alcatraz ( 1979 ) Directed By Don Siegel The legendary film, Escape from Alcatraz (1979) directed by the famous iconic movie maker, Don Siegel, tells a riveting story about three close inmates and their highly thought out escape plan. Frank Morris, played by the famous Clint Eastwood, is transported to the most solid and uptight prison, Alcatraz, in San Francisco, California. He is transferred from a prisonin Atlanta, Georgia and booked into Alcatraz on January 18, 1960. Upon his arrival, the prison warden informs Morris that no one has ever escaped Alcatraz. He lets Morris know that many have tried to escape, but they were never successful. As a warning to Morris, the warden states that no one will ever escape under his supervision. Morris in turn uses this statement from the warden as his motivation to once again escape from prison. Morris has previously escaped every prison he has been placed in, and this happens to be the reason for his transfer to Alcatraz. Two other inmates, Clarence and John Anglinwho are biological brothers, assist in the notorious escape and manage to flee alongside Morris. Clarence and John Anglin are played by the actors Frank Ward and Jack Thibeau. The brothers were not transported to Alcatraz Island until months after Frank Morris had been transferred and booked. However, the three friendmates were tight acquaintances in the Atlanta, Georgia prison. • 3. The Definition Of Rational Thought There are several different types of ways of thinking, which undergoes diverse processes. One of the approaches is rational thought, which is one of the key factors to science (Gauch, 2003). The science is a particular area proving theories by reasoning (Giere, Bickle, and Mauldin, 2006). Whilst there have been several examinations related to means people think rationally, it seems to be important to understand what rational thoughtis; furthermore, the approach can be an influential factor in academic fields. In this essay, the domain, Urban Design, will be examined as a sample. Before examining how rational thought is employed in Urban Design field, this essay will describe the definition of rational thought. When people think, there are two types of ways of thinking; System 1 and System 2 (Kahneman, 2012). He states that System 1, called fast thinking, is decision making process without an explicit evaluation, through the process, an idea would be produced intuitively, which is unconscious, uncontrolled and almost effortless. Besides, Dewey (1933) described tree types of thinking approaches as effortless means. One of them is unconscious thinking, which is applied in the situations: being sleep and awake, it is considered that there would be not much or important or helpful production of this type of thinking. Another one is imagining thinking, which does not exist, is not an object. The imagination can result in a conclusion for thinker; nonetheless, it is not always ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Stolen Generation Essay The Stolen Generation was a group of tragic people in Australian history, they are the victims of the White Australian policy pursued by the Australian government at the beginning of the 20th century. The apology to the Stolen Generations was the first conducted in Parliament by Kevin Rudd and it established a path to resolving the historical injustice which was fully controlled by the government (Reilly, 2009). This paper will reflect on my experience of the lecture from Ivan Clarke on the Stolen Generation and identify strategies I could use when teaching the Stolen Generationsto secondary students. Learning I immgranted to Australia with my family when I was 15. In Year 10 History class, I knew there s a group of people called the Stolen Genereation. We had one lesson on the Stolen Generation, learned about the timeline and discussed some Aboriginal Heros in sports. It was a historical event for me until I heard Ivan s story. It was a distressed time for me during the lecutre. Before 15 year old, I lived seperatly with my parents, I can understand how it feels when a child been removed from their parents. Upwards of 50,000 indigenous children were removed from their families. These children were suffered great psychological trauma. They may be able to go home, but they can not return to their childhood; they may be able to reunite with parents and loved ones again, but the time has passed. • 5. What Is The History Of Betty Friedan And The Feminist... Throughout history, many women have engaged in playing a bigger role in the society. They have strived for expansion of their power in the nation. The greatest battle for them was in the 1960s. There were very limited things they could do. A woman at this time period was expected to get married by the age of 20 and dedicate the rest of her life to her husband and homemaking. She was expected a lot only to take care of her kids and husband. They had no legal right to her husband earning or property but the husband had legal rights to his wife properties. They were never welcomed to professional jobs like doctor, lawyer, and engineer. Even if they did get a job they were discriminated and paid really low wages. They were never given the opportunities to achieve jobs that would pay them higher because they thought they would be pregnant and quit the jobs and they do not have a family that needs financial support, unlike males. All of these caused the feminist movement where they fought for more freedom for girls and less restriction put into them. Betty Friedan who was born in February 4,1921in Peoria Illinois. She was an American writer, Activist, and feminist. In 1966, she was co founded and elected as the first president of the National Organization for women, which is also referred to as (NOW). • 6. Infertility Fertility Benefits Infertility is a heart breaking condition, which affects about 15 percent of the population of those who are trying to conceive. Though the statistics vary, between 30 50 percent of these cases of fertility are due to the male. This can be because of damaged sperm, low semen volume, or difficulty maintaining an erection. Though infertilityis more common in older males, it can happen to men of younger ages too. Many couples become so desperate to have a child that they turn to in vitro fertilization after a year or more of trying with no success. This is very expensive though. A much less costly option is to try fertilitysupplements instead. Some of the most popular ones to take are the following: L Arginine This amino acid has numerous health benefits because of its ability to improve blood flow and relax constricted blood vessels. Many heart patients take it to help prevent another heart attack from occurring if they have previously had one before. Just as it helps increase heart flow through the heart, it can do the same for a man who is struggling with maintaining an erection. More blood flow to the genitals also increases their libido, and the more a couple has sex, the more likely conception can take place. A large portion of these dangers are an aftereffect of hacking, uncalled for employments of system assets and system gadget vulnerabilities. Familiarity with the different shortcomings and vulnerabilities is fundamental to the achievement of current systems (Kizza, 2013). • 8. Difference Between New England And Chesapeake Colonies During the Ages of Exploration, various European nations, such as Spain, French and England, created colonies in the newly discovered America. England, in particular, created settlements near the East coast of North America. The reason behind the rapid expansion and colonization was the idea of mercantilism. Mercantilism is when the mother country, England, exports more than it imports. The colonies were responsible for bringing the raw materials to the mother country, where it was turned into finished goods and then be exported. Mercantilism was believed to be a zero sum game, which meant that if one country had something, other countries could not take it. Since Spain already had various settlementsin the New World, England wanted to compete with them and gain land to become more economically advanced. Two particular regions of settlement for the English colonies were the Chesapeake region and New England. The Chesapeake region include present day Virginia, Maryland, and Pennsylvania. The New England region included Massachusetts Bay Colony, Plymouth, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. Although they were both English colonies, they had developed distinct societies. People left England to go to the New World for different reasons. Whether it was for religious or for political reasons, it had caused the two regions of settlement to differ from each other in the colonies social, political, religious, and economic aspects. • 9. The Impact Of Sports On Women s Sports Traditionally men have dominated the world of sports however in recent year s women s sports have become popular and with their new found popularity, women s sports have evolved into marketable leagues of their own. Although women s sports took a huge leap forward, women players still don t receive the same financial compensation for playing the same sports in the same arenas as their male counterparts. In Purse Snatching by Donna Lopiano, she points out sexism may have a huge effect on this financial discrepancy between women and men athletes. Analyzing sports economics may point to a different reason why women are receiving such a compensation disparity. Women sports have come a long way, since the days when women were only allowed to watch. The past three decades have witnessed a steady growth in women s sports programs in America along with a remarkable increase in the number of women athletes (Daniel Frankl 2) From an early age women were thought to be Lady Like ; they are told not to get all sweaty and dirty. Relative to normal plants, the rosette form is shorter and takes longer to flower. The mode of inheritance of the rosette gene was tested by crossing two true breeding plants, one of each form. The F1 generation was then cross pollinated to produce an F2 generation. The phenotypes of each generation were recorded and a chi square test was performed. The F1 offspring were almost entirely standard form, and the F2 followed the Mendelian ratio of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... After a week, the phenotypes of the plants were recorded in Table 2. The strongest plant in each cell was left in the quad, and the others were removed in order to thin the plants. Pollinating Flowers The plants were continually monitored and watered when needed. At approximately two weeks from the day the seeds were planted, several flowers were open on the plants. The plants were then cross pollinated using a pollinating wand. The pollen from one plant was transferred to another, using approximately eight flowers. This was done three different days with one day in between. After the third pollination, the unopened buds were removed. The plants were kept watered, and the new buds and shoots were removed for the next 14 days. Harvesting Seeds Once 14 days had passed from the day of the third pollination, the quad was removed from the watering tray and left to dry for a week. Then, the dry seed pods were removed and cracked open so that the seeds could be collected. Germinating Seeds A piece of filter paper was moistened and then placed in a petri dish, and any excess water was poured off. The harvested seeds were then placed in neat rows on the upper two thirds of the filter paper. • 11. Dangerous Liaisons By Pierre Ambroise Laclos It is true that in the old times women did not have equal rights as men. Men had more social and political freedom comparing to women, and the system was organized on men. It took a really long time for women to gain at least some equality. In the book Dangerous Liaisons by Pierre Ambroise Laclos there are many examples of women having much less rights comparing to men in the 18th century. Back then, women simply couldn t do what men could simply because they were women and they weren t considered as powerful as men were. Women had to do more things in order for them to do the same things as men. For example, if women wanted to have an affair it had to be kept secret and no one was supposed to find out about it, because if someone did find... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... So the author can also hide Cecile s true feeling because she doesn t want everyone to know that she was raped. This would make her life in the future miserable, because none of the men would want to marry her, since back then men wanted to have pure wives. Another part of this argument is that Valmont said that since he had the key to Cecile s room, people would believe him rather then her. Cecile states that in the letter to Madame de Merteuil: ...he was careful to tell me that, if anyone came, he would know how to put all the blame on me; and, indeed, it was very easy, because of the key. (letter 97, page 148). That could be true the people would believe Valmont rather than Cecile because of the key, but Cecile could have also brought up that she gave him the key because she wanted him to bring the letters from Danceny, since Cecile s mother already knew that Cecile was writing to Danceny before. This could have saved her from the rape from Valmont. But because she didn t not do that, I do not believe that the scene with Valmont seduction of Cecile, could be considered as rape. This can also be showed how women had much less rights because people were more likely believe Valmont rather than Cecile if something was to come up about that seduction. Cecile wasn t able to share it with anyone except for Madame de Merteuil because she knew she basically had no rights and her life would be over. On the other hand Valmont was happy to share that he had an affair with Cecile because it was an accomplishment for him, even though it was not as big as his usual ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Hudson Analysts show that 20% of U.S manufacturing workers now have jobs that depend on exports. • 15. Essay on The Rape of the Lock The Rape of the Lock Alexander Pope s mock heroic epic The Rape of the Lock appears to be a light subject addressed with a satiric tone and structure. Pope often regards the unwanted cutting of a woman s hair as a trivial thing, but the fashionable world takes it seriously. Upon closer examination Pope has, perhaps unwittingly, broached issues worthy of earnest consideration. The Rape of the Lock at first glance is a commentary on human vanity and the ritual of courtship. The poem also discusses the relationship between men and women, which is the more substantial matter in particular. Pope examines the oppressed position of women. Now awful Beauty puts on all its arms... (I, 137 39) We see a woman ready to go into the battle of the sexes whom the Baron (her opponent) already regards as a threat. Specifically, her beauty is a threat in that it empowers Belinda and means he may have to compete with other men for her affection. The idea of a woman holding power of any sort over a man attacks the male ego or at least threatens the Baron s ego. He is Resolved to win, or by fraud betray; For when success a lover s toil attends, Few ask if fraud or force attained his ends. On this day of reckoning, during the seven hours or so that comprise the action of the novel, all the troubles that constitute the present condition of Wilhelm Adler descend upon him and crush him, leaving him penniless, alone, and in such profound misery that one can hardly imagine his going on. He is, as he says, at the end of his rope. This has been one of those days, he says to his wife, May I never live to go through another like it. He was imperfect and disfigured himself, but what difference did that make if he was united with them by this blaze of love? And as he walked he began to say, Oh my brothers my brothers and my sisters, blessing them all as well as himself. Although such feelings never last long and are usually fled from rather than welcomed, on this day of reckoning he remembers this experience and thinks, I must go back to that. That s the right clue and may do me the most good. Something very big. Truth, like. This affirmation, feeble as it is, constitutes his own dim recognition of the saving end of what more often appears to him as a destructive element his own intensely emotional nature. He continually blames his failures on his strong and often uncontrollable emotions; yet we are finally made aware that it is just this capacity to feel, more specifically this need to love and be loved, that makes possible the birth of Wilhelm s soul at the end of the novel. Ultimately, the clearest indication that the action of Seize the Day is ironic is found in Bellow s attitude toward man s emotional nature, not just as revealed in this novel but throughout his writing. That Bellow is in the tradition of the great English Romantic poets Wordsworth in particular in this respect has been brilliantly argued by Irvin Stock in [The Southern Review, Winter 1967]. Understanding the structure of Bellow s novel to be ironic, we are now able to state its major ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 17. Gender Inequality Of Equal Pay For Women Introduction: On January 29, 2016, The White House Press Office released a FACT SHEET on new steps to advance equal pay for women. This FACT SHEET states that, the median wage of a woman working full time all year in the United States is about $39,600 only 79 percent of a man s median earnings of $50,400 (The White House, 2016). However, many scholars and economists disagree that a gender wage gap exists. In addition, conservative political experts and bloggers promote the notion that gender based wage gap is an idea propagated by feminists, women empowering organizations, and progressives. However, almost all the working women in the United States, and organizations such as Institute for Women s Policy Research (IRWP), and American Association of University Women (AAAU), strongly believe in the existence of the gender wage gap. This sociological issue of equal pay for women is extremely relevant in today s environment where women perform equal work as men in many occupations. Furthermore, with almost 50% of the work force being women, women contributing equally to the family income, and a large number of women being the single parents supporting children, lack of equal pay over time could increase the poverty rates for women (White House, 2016). In addition, IWPR s 2015 report on the status of American women, states that if women receive equal pay for the same work, the poverty rate among women will see a reduction from 8.2% to 4%, an almost 50% reduction (Hess et ... • 19. Epic Poem Parody In the world of literature and poetry, it s typically not hard to find something written about a hero, or something heroic, like an epic. Epics are long poems, typically told orally in ancient times, about the adventures of a hero or heroine and their deeds. The Iliad should immediately come to the mind of any student proficient in western literature. Nonetheless, the themes and archetypes of these works known as epics are so well known, that they are even parodied, take completely out of context, and pasted on the wall for laughs. One of the most recognized parodies of this kind would be Alexander Pope s The Rape of the Lock. The Rape of the Lock is a story about taking a minor incident and satirizing it by making it into a huge and important epic of divine proportions. One might think of the phrase a tempest in a teapot , which perfectly describes this poem. In the poem, the main character, a girl named Belinda, has her hair unwillingly cut by a baron, and the struggle to regain her lost hair even pulls in mythical creatures like sylphs to describe this epic poem. Pope was actually asked to write something like this in order to reconcile two Catholic families, as the hair cutting fiasco was based off a real event that caused bad blood between the two aforementioned families. The man who requested the poem, John Caryll, hoped that if the two families could laugh about the whole thing, they would put the whole thing behind them and end their estrangement (Rippy, n.p.). ... • 21. Jim Crow Racism This essay will argue that white people were violently racist towards African Americans in the south because the threat of them succeeding economically, educationally, and socially created competition for things that whites felt they were entitled to. Jim Crow laws were created as a way to control the success of African Americans and prevent them from reaching their full potential in society. Evidence of their actions proves this in the laws they made, the ways they treated them, and the words said about them. Whites felt entitled to these things because they viewed themselves as supreme . The threat of African Americans succeeding economically motivated white southerners to act out. For three centuries, African Americans did all of the hard work for white farmers, so they were ahead of the farming game. They had outstanding knowledge of how to grow crops and the best way to do it. Whites felt entitled to being superior, so they wanted to eliminate competition for successful farmers. In Burke County, Georgia, an African Americanfarmer reported that his acreage of land was reduced by the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation Service (ASCS) committee so that his white neighbor could acquire more land. These acts of blatant racism were nearly impossible to fight back on, because whites had such a tight grip on what African Americans could do. Laws were made that told African Americans what they could do, and most importantly, what they could not do. Educational ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The United States political system has enacted numerous policies in order to ensure the equality promised by this motto among all the people of this Nation. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Equal Outcome policies have made sure that all races, creeds, and peoples with disabilities are proportionally represented in the work place. This has sent a message to the minority that it is possible to for their group to succeed in a given workforce, thus giving them motivation to strive for the best and eventually eliminating the need for an equal outcome policy. With the implementation of such equal outcome policies, in time the workplace will become a equal opportunity for everyone. With the rise of equal outcome/equal opportunity policies, many problems have risen, however, that present a detriment to egalitarianism. Equal opportunity policies all too often go too far and focus more on equal outcome policies such as quotas. Quotas are hiring based on the percentage of a certain minority in a community. For instance, if there are two percent Asians, and ten percent Hispanics in an area, then a company will hire two percent Asians, and ten percent Hispanics. This is unfavorable because if a company has a position open and needs Asians to fulfill its quotas, they will pass over a more qualified white male to hire the Asian and meet its requirement. Though equal outcomes strives to eliminate discrimination, it forces employers to discriminate against a possibly more qualified individual in order to meet a quota. This was done to help rebuild the South and bring it back into the Union. The 13th, 14th and 15th Amendments gave African Americans some civil liberties, they prohibited slavery, gave national citizenship for every person that was born in the United States, and voting rights can not be denied because of their race or color. Looking at this era, I will discuss how it affected the society of the Americans, the economy and the laws that were passed. Although the Reconstruction Era tried to help from the end of the Civil War into the early twentieth century it resulted a failure to establish the civil rights for the African Americans. The Americans in the South felt humiliated and were against the decision of the government to give certain rights given to the African Americans. For this reason, many whites joined some groups who were against the freed slaves such as the Ku Klux Klan. The Ku Klux Klan was a political terrorist group whose purpose was to intimidate the black Americans after the 15th amendment was ratified and they were given the right to vote. The Klan had just appeared there in 1868, using intimidation, arson, whippings, sexual assault, and murder to keep potential Republican voters away from the polls in that year s election (Political Terrorism during Reconstruction, 1). This shows the actions that this social group took to terrorize the Black Americans to avoid their participation in the elections. In April 1865, before his assassination Abraham Lincoln declared that he had hope that there would be no bloody work after the war, but most of it visited upon the freedman as Northerners and Southerners black and white struggled over ... the place of African Americans in American society (The Meaning of Reconstruction, 302). Often, these early stills maintained a black and white aesthetic, not particularly focusing heavily on details, but rather the reasoning for what was there as well as what it meant. This made ,most of the early stills very bare bones to the point. This maintained a grounded level for each portrait, keeping the message and character portrayed a little vague yet understandable with thought. The main common subject among all of these images, Sherman is dead center. Due to the fact that these are self portraits, the viewer s eyes always fall upon her, in which it s the same case among the untitled stills. Thirdly, Sherman s technique may be one of the most unique throughout artistic history. Within her work, an approach extremely influenced by portrait photography is present. Imperialism is the creation and maintenance of an unequal economic, cultural, and territorial relationship, usually between states and often in the form of an empire, based on domination and subordination. (Johnston 375) By the 1890s, many Americans leaders started to have new attitude towards imperialistic adventures abroad. There were numerous reasons for the U.S. to turn to Imperialism at the end of the 19th century, mainly the economic, political, strategic, and humanitarian motives. In 1893, encouraged by the Harrison administration and assisted by the U.S. Marines from the cruiser Boston, pro American sugar planter overthrew Queen Liliuokalani and requested the annexation of Hawaii by the U.S. After that, President Grover Cleveland sent a commission to Hawaii to determine the wishes of the Hawaiian citizens concerning their future, Last but not least, the idea of racial superiority from Social Darwinism and, ironically, the moral responsibility to civilize and uplift the inferior races of Africa and Asia accounted for the increased American interest in foreign frontiers in the 1890s. In his book Our Country, Josiah Strong stated that God had appointed Anglo Saxons to be their brother s keeper. Furthermore, Kipling bolstered the idea of the White Man s Burden , the duty of white people to help and educate people who lived in undeveloped civilization . Senator Albert J.
