Yoder-Wiser In Nursing
1. Why are the study of ethics and legal issues relevant to nursing management?
The study of ethics and legal issues are relevant to nursing management because this profession
is about healthcare which we need to provide carefully and correctly to people. Yoder Wiser
describes ethics to be what one feels inclined to do based on one s conscience as opposed to
what company protocols and policies say one must do (Yoder Wiser, 2015). If we don t have a
proper study of the ethical and legal issues, it may lead to a critical problem that will affect not only
the profession but the healthcare industry as a whole. Studying ethics will allow nurses the
knowledge and understanding on how we can provide quality healthcare to our patients. In addition,

Essay about A National Tradegy
Tragedy
In September 11th A National Tragedy, James Peck writes about how the tragic event, September
11th has affected our world today. Peck states that tragedy is a word that has commonly been
overused by Americans throughout news articles and magazines when a significant event happens.
When referring to September 11th, the crashing of the twin towers, this is a tragic event.
Peck states, I do know life is life and theatre is theatre (735), but we as Americans immediately turn
life events into narrations where we ourselves play the roles of the characters and the plot is the
problem that is affecting us in our life. Turning significant events into narrations allows Americans
to replay events and go over them constantly throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

The attacks dramatize the destruction and construct America as the wealthy super power it is,
clearly these attacks were criminal acts and the attackers must be brought to justice through the
Supreme Court and internationally.
The world knows America better than us Americans know of it. Through emotion and painful
events such as this one America has came to better understand itself and the strengths that it has.
America has one of the strongest military personal in the world, allowing us to be able to react to
attacks such as this one. Peck states Since September 11th, I believe we ve been living out a
national melodrama (737). A western movie was created by President Bush Wanted: Dead or Alive
casting Osama bin Laden causing the defining moment of Americas melodrama allowing people to
be aware of the attacker by posting posters throughout the United States. America has sent military
troops over to Iraq in search of the attackers killing innocent citizen in order to voice our opinions
on this matter. The best assurance that the US will not again be the object of comparably horrific

Personal Demons Research Paper
I view my personal demons as, well just that, demons. I do not view them as the beautiful,
mythical creatures that dragons are. My personal demons destroy me daily but I still fight
everyday against them. Demons, in my mind, are creatures that destroy your will, mind, spirit
and break you down slowly also they feed your mind thoughts and make you start to believe that
they are true. My demons come in forms of depression and anxiety. They make it were I do not
want to get out of bed, were the only refuge is my room. I do things to battle them daily, how I do
that is by doing things I know will make me happy such as drawing and listening to music or even
just being in the company of people who I cherish and love. However, sometimes those things

Social Cognitive Theory, And Social Cognitive Theory
Social cognitive theory, also known as social learning theory, a theory of learning that focuses on
changes in behaviour that result from observing others (Bandura 2001 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak,
2013). According to Simons(1994, p.43) Social learning Theory is the view of psychologists who
emphasize that behaviour is learned through experiences with the environment and that cognitive
factors influence learning. Albert Bandurais the theorist behind this psychological theory.
According to a survey conducted in 2002, Bandura was ranked as the third most frequently cited
psychologist of all time (Eggen,Kauchak, 2010). Social Cognitive Theory emphasizes the roles of
beliefs, self perceptions, and learner expectations (Eggen,Kauchak.2010). According to social
cognitive theorists learning is viewed as a change in a person s mental processes that stimulates the
capacity to demonstrate different behaviours (Hill, 2002 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak, 2010).
Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) continues to emphasize that learning occurs in a social context and
that much of what is learned is gained through observation. SCT has been applied broadly to such

(Eggen, Kauchak, 2013). A closely related assumption within the SCT is that people have an
agency or ability to influence their own behavior and the environment in a purposeful, goal
directed fashion (Bandura, 2001). In other words, it can be said that those influences take place in
a two directional and reciprocal fashion. Bandura created the Triadic reciprocal causation model
which can be used to explain how learning results from the interactions among three factors: (1)
personal and cognitive factors, (2) behavioural patterns and (3) social environment. Example of
personal factors are self control and

Contraceptives And Reproductive Rights
The issue of contraceptives is mainly seen as a reproductive rights and women s rights issue;
touching on the Pro Life v Pro Choice debate. With contraceptives, women can be seen to be given
equality (promotes equality). It allows them autonomy and choice. It allows women to have control
over their own bodies and select choices as they see fit. Having religiously affiliated organizations
refusing to fulfill the requirements of the ACA limits the autonomy of female employees. It can
also be argued that this issue infringes on the employees First Amendment rights. Proponents of the
mandate believe that religiously affiliated organizations, particularly for profit organizations, are
responsible for providing reproductive services (including

The Gaze In George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty-Four
Empowerment and disempowerment using the gaze is manifested as one of the fundamental
themes in George Orwell s novel Nineteen Eighty Four (1949). Written in 1944, Nineteen Eighty
Four is a novel which portrays the experiences of Winston Smith, the protagonist and other
significant characters such as Julia who are bound to live within a totalitarian regime in which the
powerful forces are manipulation and fear. The work of literature demonstrates the visionary
concept of how totalitarian regimes may evolve if they were permitted to do so. The power of the
gaze is investigated in Nineteen Eighty Fourto assess how the protagonists in the book are given
power and also disempowered by the supervising gaze, the desiring gaze and the egalitarian gaze.

The influence of the gaze is embodied in unique ways within the totalitarian regime with an
objective to monitor and supervise the citizens behavior. The structure of the empowering gazes

are bound to live within a totalitarian society.

The Reflection Of Sleep Paralysis In Mary Shelley s...
I have lived with sleep paralysis my whole life. Reading about something so horrifying and
strange does not do it justice. I can tell you that a paralysis is so much more than not being able to
move. There is something far more sinister about it. The paralysis literally lets your imagination
run wild and that is dangerous. The role transformation plays in a scary story is practically the thing
that tells it. Like in all nightmares, things can shift from being harmless to harmful. Transformation
plays a key role in stories that are meant to scare us. Objects, settings, and humans all have the
ability to transform in a story. Of course multiple things transform, but the main thing to be focused
on is the transformation that even transforms the story. Humans that transform in a scary story
usually are the main character. In sleep paralysis you are the main thing that transforms. Let s say
you fall into a nightmareand you cannot move, you become scared and your perspective
transforms. The surrounding may become lighter or darker, figures or shadows may appear to
frighten you more. As you struggle to wake up, the nightmare may hold you back from doing so. In
Frankenstein, both Victor and his creature transform. The creature starts off innocent and curious,
but as he gets rejected by everyone around him, he becomes bitter and desperate which matures
him. The creature confronts Victor and tells him to create a companion so he doesn t have to feel
alone. Victor changes by

The Role Of Male As Breadwinner On The Workplace
The term work/life Balance has evolved around the idea of balancing work, life and family
responsibilities in 1986 in USA. The concepts of work/life balance, work/family balance, work
/life conflict, work/family conflict have gained prominence in the recent years due to the
changes in the society and the workplace. The role of male as breadwinner is no longer relevant
as more and more women are coming out to work and support the family in the best possible
way(Charlesworth et al, Rajadhyaksha and Bhatnagar, 2000). With workplaces becoming more
gender balanced (Bardeol et al, 2000), the degendered workplace, equally cohabited by men and
women (Zetlin and Whitehouse, 1998), is exploring Work/life Balance and Work/life Conflict as
conditions equally applicable to both men and women. The term has three important components
work , life and balance . In simple terms, work is normally conceived of in this context as
including paid employment while life includes activities outside work. According to Skinner and
Pocock (2008), life activities outside the domain of paid work include, family, friends and
community, thus, subsuming family issues. The term balance too, lends itself to a variety of
meanings. Clark (2000) defines balance as satisfaction and good functioning at work and at home
with a minimum of role conflict . A simplistic definition of balance may be sufficient time to meet
commitments at both home and work . 1.1What Is Work Life Balance?

Random variables or vectors can be expressed by its entropy. MI is calculated by taking the
difference between entropy of a variable and the conditional entropy. It can be expressed as the
Kullback Leibler divergence between the product of marginal distributions $mu_{x}, mu_{y}$
and the product of marginal distribution $mu_{x,y}$. It s mathematically defined at Equ.
(ref{MI}). begin{equation}label{MI} MI(x,y)=int
mu_{x,y}(x,y)log{frac{mu_{x,y}(x,y)}{mu_{x}(x)mu_{y}(y)}} end{equation} where $x$
and $y$ are two independent variables, where $x$ is a feature vector/variable and $y$ is class label.
When the mutual information reaches to zero that means the higher dependency between $x$ and
$y$. The higher dependency means the higher mutual information. subsection{Statistical
Dependency} The main objective of statistical dependency (SD) is measuring the dependence of
feature values on the associated class labels cite{G3}. It also measure weather two feature vectors

Alfred Hitchcock Use Of Editing Techniques In Veertigo
Alfred Hitchcock has a very unique style of directing that he incorporates into many of his films.
His style of editing, use of expressionism, and his techniques for creating suspense are amongst
some of his many qualities that makes his films unique. The film Vertigo was a very technical film
that displayed many different themes, and meanings. In Vertigo, Hitchcock dealt with themes like
the fear of death, and the power of appearance. Alfred Hitchcockhas a very distinct way of utilizing
editing. A big example of his style of editing can be seen where Scottie was following Madeline
around San Francisco. Every shot of the camera was in the perspective that Scottie was seeing.
You can see this is great detail when Madeline stops at the museum, and looks at the painting.
From Scotties point of view shot he sees the painting on the wall which is a women with blonde,
curly hair, wearing a gray jacket, and a red necklace. The camera still stays in Scotties point of
view, and it zooms in closer and closer until you notice that the women in the picture looks exactly

Reading And Writing On Student Learning
I like that, although our course is about content area reading, it also covers writing, another
important literacy skill. I believe that reading and writing should go hand in hand. Reading can
enhance writing and vice versa. I understand that some teachers consider reading first before
writing because of interpreting reading as a tool to access knowledge and writing as a tool to
demonstrate that knowledge. However, to me, which skill should come first is not as important as
the fact that without one, the other cannot exist.
One writing strategy from this week s reading assignments that I believe will have a great impact on
student learning, even if they are struggling writers, is the six step report writing strategy. Graham,
Harris, MacArthur (2006) stated that the report writing strategy consists of the following steps:
1. Choose a topic.
2. Brainstorm all you know and would like to know about the topic.
3. Organize your ideas by main points and details on a web, where main ideas and subordinate
ideas are linked together through the use of lines and arrows.
4. Read to find new information and verify the accuracy of already generated material (add, delete,
and modify information on the web as necessary).
5. Write your report using information from the web you created, but continue planning as you
write.
6. Check to be sure that you used everything you wanted from the web.
According to Graham, Harris, MacArthur (2006), the report writing strategy is taught using the

Karl Marx and Marxism Essay
Karl Marx and Marxism
Karl Marx set the wheels of modern Communism and Socialism in motion with his writings in the
late nineteenth century. In collaboration with his friend, Heinrich Engels, he produced the The
Communist Manifesto, written in
1848. Many failed countries political and socio economic structures have been based on Marx s
theories, for example the USSR, East Germany etc. Many people believe that Marxism is not
applicable to today s society, as Karl Marx put forward his ideas not anticipating the type of
society we have today. The welfare state system has effectively nullified Marx s arguments, and
made them irrelevant. Karl Marx, born on May 5, 1818, died on March 14, 1883, was a German

Because of this, the worker is alienated from the product of their labours, having no control over
what is made, or what becomes of it.
Karl Marx was very concerned with the class system in Prussia. He was an avid campaigner
against a system where one group of people flourish at the expense of another class, in this case the
working. He believed that all things should be equal, and that sharing should abound, with no one
person owning everything, all belonging to the state. Marx believed that once most workers
recognized their interests and became class conscious , the overthrow of capitalism would proceed
as quickly and democratically as the nature of the capitalist opposition allowed. The socialist society
that would emerge out of the revolution would develop the full productive potential inherited from
capitalism through democratic planning on behalf of social needs. The final goal, towards which
socialist society would constantly build, is the human one of abolishing alienation. Marx called the
attainment of this goal Communism.
Marxism in its various forms has affected the world greatly throughout time. Both world wars have
involved communist countries to a great extent.
Communism has gone wrong in many countries, with the state turning into an authoritarian one,
with a few people at the top abusing their power for their own personal gain, at the expense of the
other members of the public.
In conclusion, I believe that Marx s

Industrialization Causes Corruption in Businesses
No man can be a good citizen unless he has a wage more than sufficient to cover the bare cost of
living, and hours of labor short enough so that after his day s work is done he will have time and
energy to bear his share in the management of the community, to help in carrying the general load.
We keep countless men from being good citizens by the conditions of life with which we surround
them. We need comprehensive workmen s compensation acts, both State and national laws to
regulate child labor and work for women, said 26th president of United StatesTheodore Roosevelt
as he was explaining how industrialization had ruined people s lives ( Colby 515).
Industrialization is defined as the large scale introduction of manufacturing, advanced technical
enterprises, and other productive economic activity into a society. Industrialization is a huge
aspect of society and especially in America. After the American Civil War in 1861, a lot southern
plantation owners were living in poverty because they lost their land. Emancipated slaves were
also living in poverty because most them didn t have a job, but as industrialization grew in
America, more people were attracted to the cities up North. A lot of southerners and emancipated
slaves traveled up North because of job opportunities. But this proved to be a horrible mistake.

Analysis Of The Poem Summer By Josiah Conder
Summer by Josiah Conder , is describe as an a completely opposite Summer than the one
everyone is familiar with. When thinking of the summer, thoughts of heat, vacation, and fun are
usually associated with it. Conder describes the Summer as being a miserable time, where the
skies are gray and gloomy. The sonnet itself is English/Shakespearean model which makes it
easier for Conder to express different ideas in each quatrain but still relate them. Also Conder
was a poet during the Romantic era where any feeling could be expressed towards anything. And
that is what Conder does when describing the Summer. In the poem the speaker is having a
conversation with no one , while they describe the Summer. Conder uses diction, imagery,
alliteration and metaphor to help convey the idea that the Summer is not as fun and appealing.
Throughout various lines in the poem Conder chooses very specific words to use throughout the
poem. In the second line of the first quatrain of the poem while describing the sky. The speaker
says The pale grey skies/ A sort of dull and dubious and lustre (1 2). The words dubious and lustre
give a connotation of doubtful and shine. The speaker is describing the sky as of having a boring
and doubtful glow or shine in the grey sky. Continuing in the third and fourth line of the first
quatrain the speaker says Nature lies/ Slumbering and gazing on me in her sleep (3 4). The word
slumbering has a connotation of sleeping. So what the speaker is saying in

Payment System And The System Essay
According to Borio and van den Bergh (1993:8), a payment system may be defined as the set of
arrangements for the discharge of the obligations assumed by economic agents whenever they
acquire real or financial resources. The history of payment systems has been driven by the pressure
to facilitate the execution of transactions. Although payments systems differ considerably from
country to country, the major participants, as well as the key features of the settlement media and
mechanisms, are quite similar. In line with Borio and van den Bergh on the evolution of payments
systems (1993:8), Bhiri, Vhimisai and Bayai (2014:412) stated that payments systems have evolved
over the years in tandem with the quantum leap in the volume and value of the payment system
transactions. The researcher sought to analyse the reasons why there were payment transaction
failures due to the systems being used by the financial institution where the researcher is employed.

would have been at Valley ForgeI would have deserted, and I think given these conditions many
people would choose desertion over re enlistment. Desertion will be high in the military if three
conditions are met: lack of adequate shelter, lack of a proper supplies and lack of belief in the
cause. Adequate shelter for soldiers will increase the willingness to stay in the army and not
desert. Living in Valley Forge during the winter of 1778 meant living in huts. These huts were a
rudimentary log cabin with a stick and clay fireplace, no windows and held 12 men
(BACKGROUND ESSAY). Besides being cold the lack of windows caused the huts to become
filled with smoke. So now the soldiers had to decide if they were going to keep a fire going with
the door closed causing them to choke on the smoke, not have a fire inside, or to open the door
and let the cold in. None of these choices were great. In the diary of Dr. Waldo he described the
soldiers housing as hard lodging and that he was smoak d

Raphael Sanzio
RAPHAEL SANZIO
Raphael was one of the most important artists of the Italian Renaissance. Raphael painted and
designed many brilliant pieces of work and the stanzas inside the Vatican. He was a master at such
necessities of modern art such as depth and perspective and the use of light and shadow, and was
the turning point styles of paintings like the use of Madonnas in paintings. Through his short life,
Raphael would make some of the most awe inspiring, beautiful, and influential works of art during
the Italian Renaissance.
Raphael whose full name was Raphael Sanzio, (also known as Raphael Sanzi), was born on April
6th, 1483. He was born in the town of Urbino, Italy, where he would spend his childhood life until
he was 11 years old. His ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In 1508, at the age of 24, Raphael was invited to the Vatican by Pope Julius II. Raphael was
summoned to the Vatican to paint things like stanzas, and was probably recommended to the
pope by Domato Bramante, an architect. He was immediately well liked by the pope and
everyone else at the Vatican due to his personality; Raphael was a nice, gentle, and sensitive
individual. As Giorgio Vasari once said about Raphael, Raphael was so gentle and so charitable
that even animals loved him, not to speak of men. (Ruskin, p. 132)
In order for Raphael to paint stanzas Pope Julius II ordered some old frescoes to be washed away
from the Vatican walls. Although he made many stanzas, he only painted one stanza: the Stanza
della Segnatura. In the other stanzas that Raphael would make, Raphael would sketch the stanzas
and his pupils would paint whatever he sketched. In the Stanza della Segnatura, there was a stanza
for each of the four walls.. Each side represented a topic. The four sides were about theology,
poetry, philosophy, law. Each topic was represented with a painting. Theology was represented by
Disputa, poetry by Parnassus, Jurisprudence represented law, and the extremely famous The School
of Athens represented philosophy. He started working on these stanzas in early 1509 and finished in

Compare And Contrast Augustus And Shi Huangdi
Caesar Augustus and Qin Shi Huangdi During the classical civilizations there were many types of
rulers and governments, two of these include Augustus from the Roman Empire and Qin Shi
Huangdi from the Qin Dynasty in China. Both of these emperors were from classical civilizations
but their own different civilization, on in Rome and the other in China. My goal in this paper is to
compare and contrast these two rulers from different civilizations by looking at their characteristics,
such as how they came to power, how they ruled, their successes and failures as well as their legacy.
First and foremost, both Augustus, whose original name was Octavian, and Qin Shi Huangdi came
to power through military power. While they both used military power... Show more content on

Both emperors kept their empire in control with rules and laws for their people, which is
undoubtedly a great success. Augustus mercilessly crushed anybody who opposed him as Qin Shi
Huangdi did but Augustus had punishments equivalent to those of the crime committed to where
Qin Shi Huangdi outright exaggerated on punishments for all his people. Due to Augustus doing
what was best for his people, he maintained Rome together and stable creating a period known as
Pax Romana due to unprecedented peace and economic prosperity throughout the Empire (Ancient
Rome, ushistory.org). After his death his dynasty began with the Five Good Emperors who ruled
after him with prosperity. On the contrary, after [Qin Shi Huangdi] died in 210 B.C.E., the dynasty
descended into factional rivalry, and four years later it was overthrown (Duiker and Spielvogel 98;

The Chicano Of Chicano Literature
FINAL ESSAY
Chicano Literature has been around since the 1800s after the Mexican war . Mexican American
Literature is stories that writers talk about their ethnic identities through Chicano culture situations
and characters. They are their own culture, who take traditions and customs from Mexico and
American and make up their own history with it. They try to identify themselves with one culture
or the other, the food, the customs, traditions and many other things. The boundaries that define a
Chicano/a is that Chicanos live between two worlds, between two borders the American side and
their Mexican side. At first, the borders may stop them from assimilating, constructing an
environment of mistrust and hesitation. However, these boundaries do not reveal who they are
until they figure out how to blend into their new society . If they do not assimilate to their new
identity/culture it may cause them to lose a part of who they are. Nonetheless, being near a Border
can have benefits as well as consequences like the loss of culture. Assimilation means to adapt to a
new culture and become a part of them. People of different backgrounds and beliefs undergo
assimilation when, through living together, they come to see themselves as part of a larger
community. The reason why you see assimilation often in Chicano/a Literature is because many
Mexicans try to blend into the American culture. Many Chicanos write stories about what they have
lived through the years or stories they have

A Report On The Network
In this section, we will see the two networks constructed in Mininet and the flows running through
the network
Flows:
1.A total of 12 simulations were run through the network. Flows were generated between hosts
using the tool D ITG.
2.Traffic generation:
D ITG is used for generating traffic in the network. Random hosts and clients are selected for
sending traffic. To get sufficient delay in the network the link is used up to 100% in case of heavy
traffic, around 70% for medium traffic and 20% for low traffic. The receiver logs are registered for
each flow. Flows nature is UDP as UDP does not re attempt to send a dropped packet. The packet
size is fixed to 1024 and number of packets send per second can be changed depending on the
traffic requirement.
The following tables give the details of each flow which were simulated for network 1.
The network was created in Mininet. It consists of 12 hosts and 8 OpenV switches. It uses the
external controller which is selected in Mininet python code.
Network 2 is constructed in Mininet. It is a partial tree structure with 11 switches and 12 hosts.
External Floodlight controller is connected to the Mininet network using python code. The
controller is set in a different Virtual machine.
Each KQI will be analyzed for all three algorithms on both the network.
1.Average Delay:
The best performing algorithm for high traffic flows is a latency based algorithm. It gives a
minimum delay of 1.845 sec which is 28% lower than the delay observed

Reading And Writing On My Life
If I said that reading was important to me right now, I would definitely be lying. I can t sit down
for extended periods of time and enjoy a good book like I used to. When I was in elementary
school, and even when I was going into high school, I was never seen without a book. When I was
younger I could finish a new book every single week. But it was very easy for me to fall out of love
with reading as I was being introduced to new technologies. It started with a Nintendo Wii.
Sometimes I find it difficult to admit that I even owned one, but the best way to get over
embarrassment is to talk about it right? Never the less, it was the beginning of the end of my
love for reading. My earliest recollections about reading and writing were very enjoyable for me.
Reading had a huge impact on my life. In a way, I guess you could even say that some of these
experiences made me as literate and knowledgeable as I am today. It was the first time in my life
that I can truly remember feeling genuinely good about myself. A while after I had gotten a
Nintendo Wii, I got my first cell phone. It was a Nokia. Obviously it was nothing special, but at
the time it was extremely useful and I loved having it around. I then moved on to own an HTC
and now an IPhone. And not long after I got my IPhone, I bought a Playstation 4, an Xbox 360,
and a Playstation 2. I honestly believe that technology was the main reason I stopped reading. Now
that I have been out of the habit of reading for nearly 6

Insider Trading And Trading Of A Public Company
Before we can delve into the topic of Insider Trading it is important to understand what insider
trading and what are its implications. Let us begin with the definitions of insider trading:
Insider trading is the trading of a public company s stock or other securities (such as bonds or stock
options) by individuals with access to non public information about the company. In various
countries, insider trading based on inside information is illegal. This is because it is seen as unfair
to other investors who do not have access to the information. Wikipedia, 2014
Insider trading is defined as a malpractice wherein trade of a company s securities is undertaken by
people who by virtue of their work have access to the otherwise non public information which can
be crucial for making investment decisions.
ET, 2014
We must note here that insider trading has two aspects: legal insider trading and illegal insider
trading :
Insider trading can be illegal or legal depending on when the insider makes the trade: it is illegal
when the material information is still non public trading while having special knowledge is unfair
to other investors who don t have access to such knowledge. Illegal insider trading therefore
includes tipping others when you have any sort of non public information. Directors are not the
only ones who have the potential to be convicted of insider trading. People such as brokers and
even family members can be guilty.
The legal version is when

The Therapy For The Reduction Of Congestion
Aquapheresis, or ultrafiltration (UF), is a nonpharmacological therapy for the reduction of
congestion in ADHF (Albert, 2012). UF is described as the mechanical removal of fluid from the
vasculature. Ultrafiltration during dialysis has been performed for many years. The procedure
for the treatment of ADHF became more feasible and relevant when a portable, venovenous
system which could be used at the bedside was developed (Albert, 2012). The ultrafiltration
device removes blood from and returns it to the venous circulation using dual access points with
large venous catheters and an extracorporeal blood pump (Albert, 2012, p. 26). UF is carried out
by the extraction of blood from the patient via a peripheral or central catheter into a... Show more

A good blood flow is essential for UF treatment; therefore, a central line is usually needed. A
continuous heparin infusion titrated to a nomogram is necessary in order to prevent clotting of the
UF filter. The patient must be monitored for hypotension and hypovolemia; therefore, frequent vital
signs and accurate urinary output measurement is essential (Wick Bakhai, 2012). The most
commonly reported adverse events associated with UF are clotting of the filter, transient
hypotension, and pain or infection at the catheter site. There is some evidence that the risk of
adverse events is higher when the fluid removal rate is too high. Selection of candidates for UF is
controversial at present, and a clinical selection tool would be beneficial (Wick Bakhai, 2012).

Literary Analysis Of The Devil In The White City
Aditya Krishna

Honors World History
4 December 2017
The Devil in the White City is a literary nonfiction novel that spans the years surrounding the
building of the 1893 Chicago World s Fair, also known as The World s Columbian Exposition,
which was designed to commemorate the landing of Columbus in America. This nonlinear novel
is divided into four parts with the first three parts of the novel primarily taking place in Chicago
between the years 1890 1893. However, Part IV of the novel takes the reader to Philadelphia circa
1895. In The Devil in the White City, author Erik Larson uses extensive research to recreate the
lives of two real men and to reinvent Chicago during the World s Columbian Exposition. In the
process, he creates two separate, yet connected plot lines and attempts to fill in some of the gaps
left by history. One plot line centers on Daniel Burnham, the architect who builds the 1893
Chicago World s Fair. The other plot line focuses on character H.H. Holmes, the serial killer who
exploits the fair to find his victims.
The story of Daniel Burnham, his building of the fair, and the struggles he overcomes in order to
make the enterprise a success from one plot line. This sequence of events begins in 1890, when
Chicago wins the bid for the 1893 World s Exposition. Daniel Burnham and his then partner, John
Root, are given the honor of being the architects who build the fair and consequently, a more
positive global reputation for Chicago. Throughout the

Christian Sayings
Within Christian circles, there are many different expressions and phrases that have become
commonplace. Among those heavily used sayings is the notion that Christians are to be in the
world but not of the world.
This phrase, that is often recited as if it were a direct quote from scripture, is used as a mantra by
many Christians to separated themselves from the world. So what does it actually mean for a
follower of Christ to be in the world but not of it, and does the phrase s common application aid the
advancement of the gospel?
Daniel Chinn, assistant professor of biblical and theological studies, said Christians started using
the phrase as an interpretation of a bible passage and though the phrase is often treated as scripture
it is not in the bible verbatim.
The phrase In the world but not of the world comes from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

God is consistently saying all the way through This earth is good and my people are going to

in the middle of the story you ve got the incarnation, which I think is God s greatest statement to
say My created world is good, so good in fact, that I, the second person of the trinity, am going to
come down and take on the dirt of humanity, literally.
Though the phrase In the world but not of the world has truth that can be unpacked from it, Chinn
said the implication of how Christians commonly use the phrase is flawed because often it is used
to justify separation of themselves from their culture, which is not what scripture is calling them to
do.
Some Christians hold a prospective that the culture is bad, Chinn said, and many separate
themselves from the culture by having all things Christian in their

What Is The Relationship Between Inequality And Inequality
Poverty, Modernity and inequality are amongst the most common words of the English language.
According to dictionary.com, poverty means the condition of being poor , modernity means the
state of being modern and inequality means lack of equality. These three words are interrelated.
Modernity (being modern) is something which only the rich can afford. The poor rarely get a
chance of being modernized due to a lack of money and other facilities. Since the poor are not
modern enough they are subjected to inequality in everyday tasks. This paper will discuss how the
poor are treated and the relationship between the words modernity, inequality and poverty.

Our daily needs are actually their luxuries. The poems also show that treating the poor badly is
considered normal. The poor people themselves have accepted the way they are treated and do
nothing to fight against it. If the poor people take a stand and fight for their rights they can
actually overthrow their masters and live better lives. This point is especially focused in Faiz s
poem Kutte . (Faiz ahmed faiz, 1943)
The poem The nobodys by Edvardo Galeano tells us that the poor never get lucky. Their dreams
never come true no matter how hard they pray or wish for it. The poet also tells us that along
with all other things the life of the poor is also considered as worthless. The poet says that The
nobodies, the ones who are worth less than the bullet that kills them. Which shows that even if they
are dead it is not considered as something big because their life has no worth since they are not rich

Women Of Latin American Culture
Women of Latin American culture have incessantly ensued the potent gender roles that have
become a social construction of their society over innumerable decades. The profound author of
Insurgent Mexico, John Reed, imparts his experiences with the revolutionary leaders of the
Mexican Revolution, like Pancho Villa, and was able to witness their culture and more specifically
the roles these Mexican women were forced to render by their chauvinistic counterparts. This period
of revolution, started to grant women new mantles usually reserved only for men, like participating

In Reed s accounts he expressed how he heard the angry voice of the master of the house reminded
the woman that she was not doing five or six things at once in which his woman would then go
attend to the orders he had just given (Reed, 17). There is an order of importance to note that
Reed always refers to these Mexican women as the man s woman and never their wife, however
when he speaks through the woman s account he refers to the man as their husband. There is
more respect demanded from the women of Mexican culture during the early 1900s because the
men viewed their laborious work that brings in money as a means to deserve to be treated like
masters of their family. The specifically crafted language Reed uses when he speaks of the labor
the women perform, can demonstrate that he realizes they are weary and overworked. Along with
everything Reed includes when he is describing the women work, there is important to also note
that he omits any complaints made by women to their husbands. Throughout the novel in any
interaction between and man and his woman, never did the woman complain about her arduous
work and the commands she received. The work women did in Mexican culture is expected of
them and it ties into machismo on part of the men because they feel their job is only to bring
income while the wives took care of the rest. Taking this into account, Reed portrays these women
to be tolerant and respectful not only to these men in their lives they

My Best Experience

each one containing a new experience. Every experience brings its own array of emotions. You

have had our fair share of new experiences together. We shared our experiences of our first day in

Do you know Dallas Winston is? Well let me tell you he is not nice. Dallas is a clod, mean, and

ammunition to scare people, but when he pulls it out the cops shoot without hesitation. Why did
Dally bluff the cops? Well there is three reasons. His bad record, his personality, and lastly the death
of Johnny. To begin with Dally pulled the gun out so the cops would shoot him is because of his
bad record. First of all, Dally was arrested at the age of 10! This is stated in the text by S.E.

Abstract
During the 1920s and 1930s, Britain saw a movement of its inner city industries moving out to
adjacent sites which lead to Britain s road network to be redeveloped.
Britain s first motorway , the 13 km Preston bypass was opened in 1958, and following this the
Goverment planned to improve 6750km of road to at least dual carriageway standard to form
strategic inter urban network for England. This network was marked as a national commitment,
which would enhance road safety, be easily connected to all major centres of population, promote
economic growth and regional development.

Traditional Medicine And Alternative Medicine
Before we get into what exactly African Traditional Medicine is we have to talk about what
exactly Traditional Medicine is in general. Traditional Medicine is often referred to as folk
medicine or alternative medicine. Folk Medicine is one of the oldest and most traditional forms of a
health care system in Africa and has been tested time and time again. This method is an ancient
form of healing that humans have used to cope and deal with many diseases that have threatened
human existence. Which explains why Traditional Medicineis so broad and diverse. Different
cultures have developed different forms of homegrown healing methods which explains why there
is no universally accepted definition to the term of Traditional Medicine(Traditional Medicine).
According to the World Health Organization, Traditional Medicine is the sum total of the
knowledge, skills and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences indigenous to
different cultures, whether explicable or not, used in the maintenance of health, as well as in the
prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental illnesses. Traditional
healer, on the other hand, is a person who is recognized by the community where he or she lives as
someone competent to provide health care by using plant, animal and mineral substances and other
methods based on social, cultural and religious practices (Traditional Medicine). Traditional
Medicine used to be the popular choose of health care systems to

Limiting Access To Abortions
Limiting Access to Abortions Limits a Woman s Life
When we had to interview women from different decades, I decided to approach my grandma on
the opinions in regards to abortions when she was growing up. It turns out that much of the
controversy that was around back then, still exists today. According to her, accidental
pregnancies resulted in going away for a while , or back alley abortions , which no one would
dare discuss. In these procedures a doctor , or some strange person would remove or kill the
baby by using a coat hanger and inserting it into the uterus. This was back in the 50 s and while
back alley abortions seem like they would be uncommon in this day in age with all of the available
resources, the numbers of unsafe abortions ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
According to a scientific study of Women s sociological characteristics of and reasons for having
abortion as researched in developing countries, If young girls became pregnant they used to be
excluded from the school system. The laws at this point are now less strict, but such girls often
prefer to terminate their pregnancies because a pregnancy would compromise the smooth course of
their education. This same study also found that in Togo, Educational constraints make up one of
the three principal reasons given to justify abortions. and finally, Education is mentioned by almost
a third of women under 20 as a reason for abortion. From this study, it can be concluded, that
having access to abortions allow women who do not have access to another form of birth control
the chance and opportunity to further their education. It also can promote their own well beings,
as well as their lives before they are able to take care of somebody

Different Types Of Polygons By Nancy Tobin Capture The...
This book introduces different types of polygons through objects we find around us everyday.
Shape Up! uses cheese slices, pretzel sticks, a slice of bread, a pencil, and more to introduce
various polygons, flat shapes with varying numbers of straight sides. Children can learn simple
geometry with this playful but informative math concept book that takes the fear out of math and
puts the fun back in. There s a wisecracking cartoon kid who accompanies readers throughout and
makes silliness and math seem to go together like pretzels and salt. It s a tremendous learning
package that will be as pleasing to math teachers as it is to the kids who will probably discover
this book on their own. The illustrations by Nancy Tobin capture the reader s eye with her colorful
and aesthetically appealing pictures.
I believe this book will be very affective because it gets children involved with geometry first hand
and lets them find shapes, not just in food, but where ever they go. Using healthy foods to learn
geometry will also develop an interest in trying new things as well. Learning shapes through an
interactive activity will help them develop a relationship with finding shapes and problem solving
without even realizing it! Developing a fun activity with a lesson engages students and captures
their full attention.
1st Day Read the book aloud and distinguishes the shapes that were discussed in the book.
2nd Day Students will pair up and develop a scavenger hunt list of the shapes

Descriptive Narrative Story
In hindsight, I realize I was not ready for a job, maybe I was just too immature. That Thursday
night, in what felt like an empty cold room, I lay there crying, wishing for everything to be over.
It all started the day I turned 15, I was just a young man, who for some reason decided that it was
time to get a real job.
I woke up that hot summer day and decided that it was time I go out and apply for some jobs. I
chose to apply at my favorite restaurant, not knowing that it would be one of the worst ideas I
have ever had. I remember it took about three weeks for a response, those three weeks felt like
years waiting and waiting not hearing a thing, until finally I got the call. I remember walking in for
my interview all dressed up, with my hair looking shinier than the paint on my car, slicked back
like G Eazy.
As I walked in I was greeted by the store manager a middle aged woman with wildly frizzy hair,
her face resembling someone who just ran a 5K. Rushing me to a table she sat down quickly,
short of breath, she makes out the words Hi my name is Meeghan . Nervously, I greeted her
instantly Andrew, Andrew Sherman nice to meet you realizing how dumb that sounded I felt a
rush through my body, my face getting hotter and hotter as if I just drank a whole bottle of
sriracha. I could not believe how fast I got nervous, I thought for sure there wasn t going to be a
problem because I practiced this one interview at least a thousand times.
During the interview Meeghan brought me

A A la carte menu has a lot more fooditems than a semi a la carte menu and a prix fixe menu. A
Semi a la carte menu is much smaller than a A le carte menu but still has a brief description of

Reflection Paper On Robotics Team
Many students while they are in high school will participate in clubs and sports of all likes. I did
something a little different than track or chess club. I helped design, build, and showcase
robots. We aren t talking about a some desktop toy or tiny remote control car, what I helped
create was an over one hundred pounds of beastly machinery. There is one very important fact
that makes this a lot more difficult than it already sounds, we only had 6 weeks to build it. All of
this during after school hours and on weekends. Now balancing all of stress of robotics, school,
and life is not the easiest task. The events of my senior year robotics season may have been the
most stressful few months of my life, but the day that set off the season would become the day I
will remember most of all. Our robotics teamwas called Team SCREAM, our designation number
was 4522. My senior year and last year on the team was one of the roughest for all involved. The
leaders of our team were a little worried about this year since we were now leading the team, it
would fall on us whether or not we succeeded or failed. Our leadership personal was very few in
members to lead the sub teams. We had two experienced programmers, three extremely competent
mechanical team members, a great strategy team lead by one very determined person, and then our
public relations team, of which I can say did their job admirably. We had many mentors to assist us
from the community that had our backs every step of

African American Stigmas
Introduction
African American young men are infected with HIV at an alarmingly high rate in comparison to
other races. The negative stigmas that is attached to having HIV in the black community, especially
for men can be extremely detrimental and harmful to their overall health. One stigma that was
attached to having HIV was death, death was at one time believed to be imminent, and now HIV is
about restructuring their lives to face the future (Buseh, Kelber, Stevens Park, 2008, p.409), yet
they still battle other stigmas surrounded around HIV.
HIV/ AIDS affect African Americans at a higher rate than any other race (White, Asian, and
Hispanic). With African Americans making up approximately 13 percent of the U.S. population, in
2014, they made up almost half of all new HIV/AIDS cases; 44 percent. African Americanmen
accounted for 73 percent of new HIV/AIDS cases, and of that 43 percent of African American men
were heterosexual (CDC 2014). Since heterosexual African American men don t equate to the
larger population of HIV cases as compared to African American men who have sex with men,
these heterosexual men are virtually invisible in the theoretical and empirical psychological HIV
/AIDS literature (Bowleg, 2004, p.166).
The stigmas that are attached to having HIV ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Having a support system that understands the effects of HIV related stigma, giving these people
knowledge about HIV related stigma as well as how heterosexual men are affected by it.
According to Galvan et al., (2008) for African Americans having a support from friends and
family is a way to decrease their perception of HIV related stigma, with this support they don t
feel isolated, judged, or internalizing these stigmas. Organizations that target heterosexual HIV
men as a group, would also help move away from the idea that HIV is a gay or drug abuser

African American Culture And Identity
The fourth book I found about African American culture and identity is called Mr. Williams
(Barbour, 2005). This book was a story about Mr. Williams and all of the stories from his
childhood. Throughout the story, he described his living standards, work life, education life, and
relationships he had with whites. As mentioned in the beginning of the story, Mr. Williams was
born February 28, 1929 in Arcadia, Louisiana. This time frame was given to inform the reader that
it was during slaveryand the same year Martin Luther King Jr. was born. It helps the audience gain
perspective on historical events that occurs, specifically before the Civil Rights Movement. There
was never a timeline of events with specific conflicts and a solution in this

Comparing Aging In King Lear And Birdman
William Shakespeare, through his play King Lear, and Alejandro G. IГ±ГЎrritu, through his 2014
film Birdman, both portray characters who reflect on their lives and become obsessed with
leaving a lasting legacy, resulting in eventual self destruction. In his madness, Lear reflects on
how he believes he was not a good king during his reign, hence affecting his legacy after his
inevitable death, while Riggan Thomson s (Michael Keaton) play is his attempt at remaining
relevant. Shakespeare s use of soliloquies and IГ±ГЎrritu s use of Riggan s inner voice also both
give the audience insight into the mind of the two characters. At the pinnacle of his madness, as
Lear realises that he has become a weak and despised old man and regrets his reign for... Show

Both Lear and Riggan are arrogant, egotistical and ultimately ignorant to the surrounding world.
IГ±ГЎrritu and Shakespeare utilise the dialogue of other characters towards the protagonists, in
albeit different ways, to show this. Shakespeare utilises the Fool to provide commentary for the
audience. In the court of the king, the Fool s role was to provide entertainment through comedy, but
Shakespeare portrays him as the only character telling Lear the truth and thus this is an example of
dramatic irony. Through his anecdotes and commentary, the Fool reveals to Lear the truth, but in
his ignorance the king does not acknowledge this. IГ±ГЎrritu demonstrates this through the audial
and visual manifestation of Riggan s younger self. While Shakespeare uses the Fool to tell Lear
and the audience the truth, Riggan s subconscious furthers his disconnection from reality and self
absorption. Additionally, Shakespeare uses eyes as a motif to emphasise this fatal blindness,
attributed to age. The plucking out of Gloucester s eyes is also a direct link to this. Lear s crown
is also used as a symbol of Lear s poor judgement; by splitting the kingdom between his daughters,
Lear clovest his crown i th middle , which ultimately lead to the tragic consequences at the end of
the play. IГ±ГЎrritu explores a similar idea of a limited view of the world through

  • 2. Yoder-Wiser In Nursing 1. Why are the study of ethics and legal issues relevant to nursing management? The study of ethics and legal issues are relevant to nursing management because this profession is about healthcare which we need to provide carefully and correctly to people. Yoder Wiser describes ethics to be what one feels inclined to do based on one s conscience as opposed to what company protocols and policies say one must do (Yoder Wiser, 2015). If we don t have a proper study of the ethical and legal issues, it may lead to a critical problem that will affect not only the profession but the healthcare industry as a whole. Studying ethics will allow nurses the knowledge and understanding on how we can provide quality healthcare to our patients. In addition, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Essay about A National Tradegy Tragedy In September 11th A National Tragedy, James Peck writes about how the tragic event, September 11th has affected our world today. Peck states that tragedy is a word that has commonly been overused by Americans throughout news articles and magazines when a significant event happens. When referring to September 11th, the crashing of the twin towers, this is a tragic event. Peck states, I do know life is life and theatre is theatre (735), but we as Americans immediately turn life events into narrations where we ourselves play the roles of the characters and the plot is the problem that is affecting us in our life. Turning significant events into narrations allows Americans to replay events and go over them constantly throughout ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... America has one of the strongest military personal in the world, allowing us to be able to react to attacks such as this one. Peck states Since September 11th, I believe we ve been living out a national melodrama (737). A western movie was created by President Bush Wanted: Dead or Alive casting Osama bin Laden causing the defining moment of Americas melodrama allowing people to be aware of the attacker by posting posters throughout the United States. America has sent military troops over to Iraq in search of the attackers killing innocent citizen in order to voice our opinions on this matter. My personal demons destroy me daily but I still fight everyday against them. My demons come in forms of depression and anxiety. They make it were I do not want to get out of bed, were the only refuge is my room. Social Cognitive Theory, And Social Cognitive Theory Social cognitive theory, also known as social learning theory, a theory of learning that focuses on changes in behaviour that result from observing others (Bandura 2001 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak, 2013). According to Simons(1994, p.43) Social learning Theory is the view of psychologists who emphasize that behaviour is learned through experiences with the environment and that cognitive factors influence learning. Albert Bandurais the theorist behind this psychological theory. According to a survey conducted in 2002, Bandura was ranked as the third most frequently cited psychologist of all time (Eggen,Kauchak, 2010). Social Cognitive Theory emphasizes the roles of beliefs, self perceptions, and learner expectations (Eggen,Kauchak.2010). According to social cognitive theorists learning is viewed as a change in a person s mental processes that stimulates the capacity to demonstrate different behaviours (Hill, 2002 as cited in Eggen,Kauchak, 2010). Social Cognitive Theory (SCT) continues to emphasize that learning occurs in a social context and that much of what is learned is gained through observation. A closely related assumption within the SCT is that people have an agency or ability to influence their own behavior and the environment in a purposeful, goal directed fashion (Bandura, 2001). In other words, it can be said that those influences take place in a two directional and reciprocal fashion. Bandura created the Triadic reciprocal causation model which can be used to explain how learning results from the interactions among three factors: (1) personal and cognitive factors, (2) behavioural patterns and (3) social environment. With contraceptives, women can be seen to be given equality (promotes equality). It allows them autonomy and choice. It allows women to have control over their own bodies and select choices as they see fit. Having religiously affiliated organizations refusing to fulfill the requirements of the ACA limits the autonomy of female employees. The Gaze In George Orwell s Nineteen Eighty-Four Empowerment and disempowerment using the gaze is manifested as one of the fundamental themes in George Orwell s novel Nineteen Eighty Four (1949). Written in 1944, Nineteen Eighty Four is a novel which portrays the experiences of Winston Smith, the protagonist and other significant characters such as Julia who are bound to live within a totalitarian regime in which the powerful forces are manipulation and fear. The work of literature demonstrates the visionary concept of how totalitarian regimes may evolve if they were permitted to do so. The power of the gaze is investigated in Nineteen Eighty Fourto assess how the protagonists in the book are given power and also disempowered by the supervising gaze, the desiring gaze and the egalitarian gaze. • 9. The Reflection Of Sleep Paralysis In Mary Shelley s... I have lived with sleep paralysis my whole life. Reading about something so horrifying and strange does not do it justice. I can tell you that a paralysis is so much more than not being able to move. There is something far more sinister about it. The paralysis literally lets your imagination run wild and that is dangerous. The role transformation plays in a scary story is practically the thing that tells it. Like in all nightmares, things can shift from being harmless to harmful. Transformation plays a key role in stories that are meant to scare us. Objects, settings, and humans all have the ability to transform in a story. Of course multiple things transform, but the main thing to be focused on is the transformation that even transforms the story. Humans that transform in a scary story usually are the main character. In sleep paralysis you are the main thing that transforms. Let s say you fall into a nightmareand you cannot move, you become scared and your perspective transforms. The surrounding may become lighter or darker, figures or shadows may appear to frighten you more. As you struggle to wake up, the nightmare may hold you back from doing so. In Frankenstein, both Victor and his creature transform. • 11. The Role Of Male As Breadwinner On The Workplace The term work/life Balance has evolved around the idea of balancing work, life and family responsibilities in 1986 in USA. The concepts of work/life balance, work/family balance, work /life conflict, work/family conflict have gained prominence in the recent years due to the changes in the society and the workplace. The role of male as breadwinner is no longer relevant as more and more women are coming out to work and support the family in the best possible way(Charlesworth et al, Rajadhyaksha and Bhatnagar, 2000). With workplaces becoming more gender balanced (Bardeol et al, 2000), the degendered workplace, equally cohabited by men and women (Zetlin and Whitehouse, 1998), is exploring Work/life Balance and Work/life Conflict as conditions equally applicable to both men and women. The term has three important components work , life and balance . In simple terms, work is normally conceived of in this context as including paid employment while life includes activities outside work. According to Skinner and Pocock (2008), life activities outside the domain of paid work include, family, friends and community, thus, subsuming family issues. The term balance too, lends itself to a variety of meanings. Clark (2000) defines balance as satisfaction and good functioning at work and at home with a minimum of role conflict . A simplistic definition of balance may be sufficient time to meet commitments at both home and work . 1.1What Is Work Life Balance? ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

His style of editing, use of expressionism, and his techniques for creating suspense are amongst some of his many qualities that makes his films unique. The film Vertigo was a very technical film that displayed many different themes, and meanings. In Vertigo, Hitchcock dealt with themes like the fear of death, and the power of appearance. Alfred Hitchcockhas a very distinct way of utilizing editing. A big example of his style of editing can be seen where Scottie was following Madeline around San Francisco. Every shot of the camera was in the perspective that Scottie was seeing. You can see this is great detail when Madeline stops at the museum, and looks at the painting. From Scotties point of view shot he sees the painting on the wall which is a women with blonde, curly hair, wearing a gray jacket, and a red necklace. • 14. Reading And Writing On Student Learning I like that, although our course is about content area reading, it also covers writing, another important literacy skill. I believe that reading and writing should go hand in hand. Reading can enhance writing and vice versa. I understand that some teachers consider reading first before writing because of interpreting reading as a tool to access knowledge and writing as a tool to demonstrate that knowledge. However, to me, which skill should come first is not as important as the fact that without one, the other cannot exist. One writing strategy from this week s reading assignments that I believe will have a great impact on student learning, even if they are struggling writers, is the six step report writing strategy. Graham, Harris, MacArthur (2006) stated that the report writing strategy consists of the following steps: 1. Choose a topic. 2. Brainstorm all you know and would like to know about the topic. 3. Organize your ideas by main points and details on a web, where main ideas and subordinate ideas are linked together through the use of lines and arrows. 4. Read to find new information and verify the accuracy of already generated material (add, delete, and modify information on the web as necessary). 5. Write your report using information from the web you created, but continue planning as you write. 6. Check to be sure that you used everything you wanted from the web. In collaboration with his friend, Heinrich Engels, he produced the The Communist Manifesto, written in 1848. Many failed countries political and socio economic structures have been based on Marx s theories, for example the USSR, East Germany etc. Many people believe that Marxism is not applicable to today s society, as Karl Marx put forward his ideas not anticipating the type of society we have today. Karl Marx was very concerned with the class system in Prussia. He was an avid campaigner against a system where one group of people flourish at the expense of another class, in this case the working. He believed that all things should be equal, and that sharing should abound, with no one person owning everything, all belonging to the state. Marx believed that once most workers recognized their interests and became class conscious , the overthrow of capitalism would proceed as quickly and democratically as the nature of the capitalist opposition allowed. The socialist society that would emerge out of the revolution would develop the full productive potential inherited from capitalism through democratic planning on behalf of social needs. The final goal, towards which socialist society would constantly build, is the human one of abolishing alienation. Marx called the attainment of this goal Communism. Marxism in its various forms has affected the world greatly throughout time. Both world wars have involved communist countries to a great extent. Industrialization Causes Corruption in Businesses No man can be a good citizen unless he has a wage more than sufficient to cover the bare cost of living, and hours of labor short enough so that after his day s work is done he will have time and energy to bear his share in the management of the community, to help in carrying the general load. We keep countless men from being good citizens by the conditions of life with which we surround them. We need comprehensive workmen s compensation acts, both State and national laws to regulate child labor and work for women, said 26th president of United StatesTheodore Roosevelt as he was explaining how industrialization had ruined people s lives ( Colby 515). Industrialization is defined as the large scale introduction of manufacturing, advanced technical enterprises, and other productive economic activity into a society. Industrialization is a huge aspect of society and especially in America. After the American Civil War in 1861, a lot southern plantation owners were living in poverty because they lost their land. Emancipated slaves were also living in poverty because most them didn t have a job, but as industrialization grew in America, more people were attracted to the cities up North. • 19. Analysis Of The Poem Summer By Josiah Conder Summer by Josiah Conder , is describe as an a completely opposite Summer than the one everyone is familiar with. When thinking of the summer, thoughts of heat, vacation, and fun are usually associated with it. Conder describes the Summer as being a miserable time, where the skies are gray and gloomy. The sonnet itself is English/Shakespearean model which makes it easier for Conder to express different ideas in each quatrain but still relate them. Also Conder was a poet during the Romantic era where any feeling could be expressed towards anything. And that is what Conder does when describing the Summer. In the poem the speaker is having a conversation with no one , while they describe the Summer. Conder uses diction, imagery, alliteration and metaphor to help convey the idea that the Summer is not as fun and appealing. Throughout various lines in the poem Conder chooses very specific words to use throughout the poem. In the second line of the first quatrain of the poem while describing the sky. The speaker says The pale grey skies/ A sort of dull and dubious and lustre (1 2). The words dubious and lustre give a connotation of doubtful and shine. The speaker is describing the sky as of having a boring and doubtful glow or shine in the grey sky. Continuing in the third and fourth line of the first quatrain the speaker says Nature lies/ Slumbering and gazing on me in her sleep (3 4). The word slumbering has a connotation of sleeping. • 20. Payment System And The System Essay According to Borio and van den Bergh (1993:8), a payment system may be defined as the set of arrangements for the discharge of the obligations assumed by economic agents whenever they acquire real or financial resources. The history of payment systems has been driven by the pressure to facilitate the execution of transactions. Although payments systems differ considerably from country to country, the major participants, as well as the key features of the settlement media and mechanisms, are quite similar. In line with Borio and van den Bergh on the evolution of payments systems (1993:8), Bhiri, Vhimisai and Bayai (2014:412) stated that payments systems have evolved over the years in tandem with the quantum leap in the volume and value of the payment system transactions. The researcher sought to analyse the reasons why there were payment transaction failures due to the systems being used by the financial institution where the researcher is employed. Oliveira and Martins (2011:110) stated that IT is universally regarded as an essential tool in enhancing the competitiveness of the economy of a country. It is commonly accepted today that IT has significant effects on the productivity of firms. Oliveira and Martins (2011:10) further explained that it is crucial to understand the determinants of IT adoption and the theoretical models that are raised when addressing IT adoption. Summary Of Prayer At Valley Forge The painting by Arnold Friberg Prayer at Valley Forge, shows George Washington praying for his troops during the harsh winter but does not fully allow the viewer to understand the conditions of soldiers during their stay at Valley Forge. Valley Forge is one of the most famous times during the American Revolution even though it was not a battle. At this point in the war the Americans were losing the Revolution and many soldiers were sick and dying while the others were deserting. If I would have been at Valley ForgeI would have deserted, and I think given these conditions many people would choose desertion over re enlistment. Desertion will be high in the military if three conditions are met: lack of adequate shelter, lack of a proper supplies and lack of belief in the cause. Adequate shelter for soldiers will increase the willingness to stay in the army and not desert. Living in Valley Forge during the winter of 1778 meant living in huts. These huts were a rudimentary log cabin with a stick and clay fireplace, no windows and held 12 men (BACKGROUND ESSAY). Besides being cold the lack of windows caused the huts to become filled with smoke. So now the soldiers had to decide if they were going to keep a fire going with the door closed causing them to choke on the smoke, not have a fire inside, or to open the door and let the cold in. None of these choices were great. In the diary of Dr. Waldo he described the soldiers housing as hard lodging and that he was smoak d ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Raphael was summoned to the Vatican to paint things like stanzas, and was probably recommended to the pope by Domato Bramante, an architect. He was immediately well liked by the pope and everyone else at the Vatican due to his personality; Raphael was a nice, gentle, and sensitive individual. As Giorgio Vasari once said about Raphael, Raphael was so gentle and so charitable that even animals loved him, not to speak of men. (Ruskin, p. 132) In order for Raphael to paint stanzas Pope Julius II ordered some old frescoes to be washed away from the Vatican walls. Although he made many stanzas, he only painted one stanza: the Stanza della Segnatura. In the other stanzas that Raphael would make, Raphael would sketch the stanzas and his pupils would paint whatever he sketched. In the Stanza della Segnatura, there was a stanza for each of the four walls.. Each side represented a topic. The four sides were about theology, poetry, philosophy, law. Mexican American Literature is stories that writers talk about their ethnic identities through Chicano culture situations and characters. They are their own culture, who take traditions and customs from Mexico and American and make up their own history with it. They try to identify themselves with one culture or the other, the food, the customs, traditions and many other things. The boundaries that define a Chicano/a is that Chicanos live between two worlds, between two borders the American side and their Mexican side. At first, the borders may stop them from assimilating, constructing an environment of mistrust and hesitation. However, these boundaries do not reveal who they are until they figure out how to blend into their new society . If they do not assimilate to their new identity/culture it may cause them to lose a part of who they are. Nonetheless, being near a Border can have benefits as well as consequences like the loss of culture. Assimilation means to adapt to a new culture and become a part of them. People of different backgrounds and beliefs undergo assimilation when, through living together, they come to see themselves as part of a larger community. The reason why you see assimilation often in Chicano/a Literature is because many Mexicans try to blend into the American culture. To get sufficient delay in the network the link is used up to 100% in case of heavy traffic, around 70% for medium traffic and 20% for low traffic. The receiver logs are registered for each flow. Flows nature is UDP as UDP does not re attempt to send a dropped packet. The packet size is fixed to 1024 and number of packets send per second can be changed depending on the traffic requirement. When I was younger I could finish a new book every single week. But it was very easy for me to fall out of love with reading as I was being introduced to new technologies. It started with a Nintendo Wii. Sometimes I find it difficult to admit that I even owned one, but the best way to get over embarrassment is to talk about it right? Never the less, it was the beginning of the end of my love for reading. My earliest recollections about reading and writing were very enjoyable for me. Reading had a huge impact on my life. In a way, I guess you could even say that some of these experiences made me as literate and knowledgeable as I am today. It was the first time in my life that I can truly remember feeling genuinely good about myself. A while after I had gotten a Nintendo Wii, I got my first cell phone. It was a Nokia. Let us begin with the definitions of insider trading: Insider trading is the trading of a public company s stock or other securities (such as bonds or stock options) by individuals with access to non public information about the company. In various countries, insider trading based on inside information is illegal. This is because it is seen as unfair to other investors who do not have access to the information. Wikipedia, 2014 Insider trading is defined as a malpractice wherein trade of a company s securities is undertaken by people who by virtue of their work have access to the otherwise non public information which can be crucial for making investment decisions. ET, 2014 We must note here that insider trading has two aspects: legal insider trading and illegal insider trading : Insider trading can be illegal or legal depending on when the insider makes the trade: it is illegal when the material information is still non public trading while having special knowledge is unfair to other investors who don t have access to such knowledge. Illegal insider trading therefore includes tipping others when you have any sort of non public information. Directors are not the only ones who have the potential to be convicted of insider trading. This nonlinear novel is divided into four parts with the first three parts of the novel primarily taking place in Chicago between the years 1890 1893. However, Part IV of the novel takes the reader to Philadelphia circa 1895. In The Devil in the White City, author Erik Larson uses extensive research to recreate the lives of two real men and to reinvent Chicago during the World s Columbian Exposition. Orlando has a lot of theme parks, restaurants and parks. The most interesting places to visit there, in my opinion are Disneyworld, Universal Studios, and Sea World. It is not a surprise that a lot of people find Disneyworld as an extremely entertaining place. Even though most of the rides are meant for kids, adults also can take pleasure of being inside this ... • 39. My Best Experience 1,826 Days I met my best friends five years ago. A lot can happen in five years. There are 1,826 days in five years. That means that over that span of time, the world presents 1,826 fresh starts, each one containing a new experience. Every experience brings its own array of emotions. You can learn a lot about someone by the way that they react to new experiences. My friends and I have had our fair share of new experiences together. We shared our experiences of our first day in high school together, our first homecoming, having the freedom to drive, our first relationship, our first heartbreak, family issues, even our first periods. Each one was terrifying and exhilarating, and each one presented its own set of challenges. What color dress should we get? Do you think we have enough gas to get there? Should we believe him when he says it will only hurt a little? Was everything else he said just a lie? Why does dad sleep on the couch now? How are we going to make it through the day with these cramps? Every one of these questions we had to answer our selves with nothing but the help of each other. We never found out the right answers, and to this day we still don t know the right answers. We probably never will. Although there probably is no right answer to any of the questions that life presents us, searching for the answer has not only brought us closer together than ever, it has also taught us things about ourselves and each other that we may have never discovered. Since the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Later on in the book a member of the gang, Johnny dies from saving kids from a burning church. Also because of his bad record and personality. This fills Dally with hate and rage. For this reason Dally goes to a store to a store and robes it. Meeting his gangin the lot the police pull up with guns. Dally also has a gunwithout ammunition to scare people, but when he pulls it out the cops shoot without hesitation. Why did Dally bluff the cops? Well there is three reasons. His bad record, his personality, and lastly the death of Johnny. To begin with Dally pulled the gun out so the cops would shoot him is because of his bad record. First of all, Dally was arrested at the age of 10! This is stated in the text by S.E. Hinton on page ten Dally had spent three days on the wild side of New York and had been arrested at the age of ten. Next, to blow off steam when he was infuriated he would get into gang fights. This is also stated in the text on page eleven by S.E. Hinton In New York, Dally blew off steam in gang fights, but here, organized gangs are rarities there are just small bunches of friends who stick together, and the warfare is between the social classes. And above all, Dally would always get drunk, ride in rodeos, lie, cheat, steal, roll drunks, and jump little kids. This can be proven as the text states on page ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Traditional Medicine is often referred to as folk medicine or alternative medicine. Folk Medicine is one of the oldest and most traditional forms of a health care system in Africa and has been tested time and time again. This method is an ancient form of healing that humans have used to cope and deal with many diseases that have threatened human existence. Which explains why Traditional Medicineis so broad and diverse. Different cultures have developed different forms of homegrown healing methods which explains why there is no universally accepted definition to the term of Traditional Medicine(Traditional Medicine). According to the World Health Organization, Traditional Medicine is the sum total of the knowledge, skills and practices based on the theories, beliefs and experiences indigenous to different cultures, whether explicable or not, used in the maintenance of health, as well as in the prevention, diagnosis, improvement or treatment of physical and mental illnesses. Shape Up! uses cheese slices, pretzel sticks, a slice of bread, a pencil, and more to introduce various polygons, flat shapes with varying numbers of straight sides. Children can learn simple geometry with this playful but informative math concept book that takes the fear out of math and puts the fun back in. There s a wisecracking cartoon kid who accompanies readers throughout and makes silliness and math seem to go together like pretzels and salt. It s a tremendous learning package that will be as pleasing to math teachers as it is to the kids who will probably discover this book on their own. The illustrations by Nancy Tobin capture the reader s eye with her colorful and aesthetically appealing pictures. I believe this book will be very affective because it gets children involved with geometry first hand and lets them find shapes, not just in food, but where ever they go. Using healthy foods to learn geometry will also develop an interest in trying new things as well. Learning shapes through an interactive activity will help them develop a relationship with finding shapes and problem solving without even realizing it! Developing a fun activity with a lesson engages students and captures their full attention. 1st Day Read the book aloud and distinguishes the shapes that were discussed in the book. 2nd Day Students will pair up and develop a scavenger hunt list of the shapes ... The negative stigmas that is attached to having HIV in the black community, especially for men can be extremely detrimental and harmful to their overall health. One stigma that was attached to having HIV was death, death was at one time believed to be imminent, and now HIV is about restructuring their lives to face the future (Buseh, Kelber, Stevens Park, 2008, p.409), yet they still battle other stigmas surrounded around HIV. HIV/ AIDS affect African Americans at a higher rate than any other race (White, Asian, and Hispanic). With African Americans making up approximately 13 percent of the U.S. population, in 2014, they made up almost half of all new HIV/AIDS cases; 44 percent. African Americanmen accounted for 73 percent of new HIV/AIDS cases, and of that 43 percent of African American men were heterosexual (CDC 2014). Since heterosexual African American men don t equate to the larger population of HIV cases as compared to African American men who have sex with men, these heterosexual men are virtually invisible in the theoretical and empirical psychological HIV /AIDS literature (Bowleg, 2004, p.166). IГ±ГЎrritu, through his 2014 film Birdman, both portray characters who reflect on their lives and become obsessed with leaving a lasting legacy, resulting in eventual self destruction. In his madness, Lear reflects on how he believes he was not a good king during his reign, hence affecting his legacy after his inevitable death, while Riggan Thomson s (Michael Keaton) play is his attempt at remaining relevant. Shakespeare s use of soliloquies and IГ±ГЎrritu s use of Riggan s inner voice also both give the audience insight into the mind of the two characters. Both Lear and Riggan are arrogant, egotistical and ultimately ignorant to the surrounding world. IГ±ГЎrritu and Shakespeare utilise the dialogue of other characters towards the protagonists, in albeit different ways, to show this. Shakespeare utilises the Fool to provide commentary for the audience. In the court of the king, the Fool s role was to provide entertainment through comedy, but Shakespeare portrays him as the only character telling Lear the truth and thus this is an example of dramatic irony. Through his anecdotes and commentary, the Fool reveals to Lear the truth, but in his ignorance the king does not acknowledge this. IГ±ГЎrritu demonstrates this through the audial and visual manifestation of Riggan s younger self. While Shakespeare uses the Fool to tell Lear and the audience the truth, Riggan s subconscious furthers his disconnection from reality and self absorption. Additionally, Shakespeare uses eyes as a motif to emphasise this fatal blindness, attributed to age. The plucking out of Gloucester s eyes is also a direct link to this. Lear s crown is also used as a symbol of Lear s poor judgement; by splitting the kingdom between his daughters, Lear clovest his crown i th middle , which ultimately lead to the tragic consequences at the end of the play.
