2. Historical Evaluation of Computer
➢ What is a computer? Why it is also known as a data processor?
A device that computes, especially a programmable electronic machine that performs high speed
mathematical or logical operations or that assembles, stores, correlates, or otherwise processes
information is known to be a computer.
A computer is an electronic device which manipulates or transforms data. It accepts data, stores data,
process data according to a set of instructions, and also retrieve the data when required. Hence it is
known as a data processor.

4. Diligence: Unlike human beings a computer is free from tiredness and lack of concentration. It can
continuously work for hours without creating any error and without grumbling. And a computer will

5. Versatility: Versatility is one of the most wonderful things about the computer. One moment it is
preparing the results of an examination the next moment its working with picture. Briefly a computer
can perform almost any task if the task can be analyzed as binary logical instance.
6. Power of remembering: As a human being acquires new knowledge the brain subconsciously selects
what it feels to be important and worth retaining in its memory. This is not the case with a computer. A
computer can store any data and information as long as the user wants and can recall them anytime to
reprocess because of its memory compatibility. Even after several years user can use the saved data as
he saved means it remains unchanged.
7. No I.Q.: A computer is not a magical device. It possesses no intelligence of its own. Its IQ is zero at
least until today. It must have to be told what to do. A user can only tell a computer what to do. A
computer can not take its own decision.
8. No feelings: Computers are devoid of emotions. They have no feeling and no instincts because they
are machines. It doesn t get

3. Important Aspects Of A Business
1. Introduction
In an expanding business, it is vital to have a HR specialist. They will carry out recruitment
procedures, induction and training days and will also have significant knowledge of employment
legislations. This is helpful as information is kept in one place and will only require a small team of
people to hold it for the rest of the business.
2. Recruitment functions
The recruitment industry is used to attract, interview and hire potential candidates for jobs. This is an
extremely important aspect of a business as employees determine how the business will run and
progress. To find the right candidates for a position, certain functions are required.

All potential candidates should then be shortlisted and sent to the hiring manager.
2.4 Interviewing applicants
The interview allows the employer and interviewee to validate information on both sides. There are
different types of formal interviews consisting of a telephone interview, one on one face to face
interview, panel interview, group interview and virtual interview e.g. skype. All interviews require a
set of relevant questions in regards to the position and company. All interview questions should flow
and allow the interviewee to expand on their relevant skills and experience providing examples.
2.5 Selecting and hiring
Once the interviews have been completed, candidates will all be evaluated and the most suitable will
be chosen. Once you have chosen the candidate you will need to carry out reference checks with
previous employers. This is important as it will inform you of the type of person they are and how
they work.
2.6 Offer
Once the candidate has been offered and they have accepted, the HR team must be made aware so
they can send out an offer of employment letter. The candidate must then sign a copy to send back to
the head office. Inductions and training will follow once this has been received.

In spite of everything, I still believe that people are really good at heart. This quote proves that Anne
Frank cared about everyone even if they did not treat her with respect. Anne Frank was a strong,
young girl who was alive during the Holocaust. She and her family had to go into hiding because of
what they believed in. During the Holocaust it was a very rough time for Jewish people. For example,
they had to wear the star of David and if they were found they were taken to a concentration camp,
where they were treated rudely and with no respect. After Anne and her family were found they were
sent to a concentration camp, but while they were there Anne was still happy and positive there. She
also had to stay strong even though they were given very little food and water. Finally, Anne was a

this because their celebration of Hanukkah was not over, Anne gathered gifts for everyone from

Anne Frank was a very strong willed child growing up during the Holocaust. She had to stay strong

6. The Secret to Humor is Surprise in The Weather of New...
Critical Analysis Essay The secret to humor is surprise Aristotle. The two stories I m going to talk
about The Weather of New England by Mark Twain and The Dog That Bit People by James Thurber
are both strange humorous essay with a twist. Both stories have a central conflict, in The Dog That Bit
People a family is burden with a dog that bites everyone, including the narrator. The Weather of New
England talks about the weather of the new colonies and how spontaneous they were and the different
forms they came in. Both humorous authors use style, tone, and perspective as a technique to tell their
story and conflicts. Mark Twain uses style in The Weather of New England , when he uses words like
sumptuous and Centennial to describe what s going on in the story. The author refers to the weather as
sumptuous saying that there are splendid and lavish varieties of the weather of New England that
cause a stranger to admire and regret or pity the weather. He also says that the brightest gems in the
New England weather is the dazzling uncertainty. The authors uses words like dazzling to show his
style. His style is sarcastic because he makes the uncertainty of not knowing what the weathers going
to be as a good thing when really the unexpected weather is causing problems. The author of The Dog
That Bit People James Thurber on one hand uses hyperbole s like Mark Twain ,but on the

7. How Did The Boston Tea Party Affect The Growth Of America
The Boston Tea Party s Effect on the Growth of America In 1773 the Boston Tea Party occurred, a
monumental step in America s early growth, leading to eventual freedom from Britain. As the British
East India Company forced a tea tax on colonists, it would be up to the citizens of America, and
patriots like Samuel Adams, to stand up for their rights against the British. They organized themselves
enough to partake in a rebellious act, dressing as Native Americans in the night, and destroying an
incoming supply of tea. While at the time the disposal of 17 million pounds of tea (Danzer et. al 99)
might have seemed a waste, this act would lead to rights for colonists and a revolution, providing
America with freedom, thereby causing the Boston Tea Party to be a vital act in the country s growth.
Consequences followed the Boston Tea Party as King George the Third put in place the intolerable
acts , but these would only be met by more resistance as colonists began to unite and demand equality
and rights to control their own territory, an essential step in America s growth. The intolerable acts
were harsh laws, put in place in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

However, there is no universal approach and best practices must be adapted to fit the epidemiology of
specific ICUs and should also consider the available resources (10).
Radiation safety
Radiation safety of patients, radiographers and other individuals in ICU should be considered
according to the As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) principle. General radiation safety
principles include time, distance and shielding (7). Since the patient is male, no pregnancy check is
needed.
To protect the patient, the length of time that a patient remains in the path of the x ray beam should be
minimized. Therefore, it is important for radiographers to avoid unnecessary repeats and thus
unnecessary exposure. Gonad shielding should be used on patients if possible, which is particularly
important for young patients. In addition, proper collimations and adjusted exposure factors should be
applied according to patient situations to minimize radiation dose (7).
Radiographers should protect themselves as well. The time spent in radiation fields should be limited
by taking shifts. Radiographers should stand as far away from source as possible to increase distance
between radiation source and themselves. They should stand behind appropriate radiation shields or,
more commonly, wear appropriate protection (7). According to a previous study, lead apron is the
most common method of radiation protection as it may

10. Coyote and Bear
The Native American tale of Coyote and Bear , originally translated from oral tradition in nineteen six
by G. A. Dorsey in the book The Pawnee, Mythology, Part I, tells us the story of Coyote who
accidentally meets Bear, and in order to protect himself from being killed by Bear, starts to make up
self praising stories to impress Bear. Eventually, Coyote convinces Bear, but after a few hesitant
moves, Bear realizes that Coyote was lying. The tale then, ends up with the murder of Coyote by Bear.
The most relevant literary figure used in the tale is the trickster, which is, in the study of folklore, a
god, a spirit, or simply a human hero who breaks god´s or nature´s rules, sometimes with bad
intention, but usually with final positive ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nature has been cheated by the outstanding abilities of Coyote. However, the situation does not end
like that. The forces of nature triumph once again in order to show a tale s moral. Bear acts in a more
natural way. He finally concludes the cycle that his character was intended for, but not before showing
an initial naïve personality. This situation creates a first impression on the reader/listener, implying
that good convincing skills can defeat what is naturally expected to happen. However, and with full
intention of developing a tale moral, these convincing skills only take effect on a temporary basis. The
message this tale wants to issue is that nature might be unaware for some time, but at the end, it
always defeats any intention of shortcutting the life cycle. This moral is among the most usual used in
Native American coyote stories, which were normally told to audiences of young and old people alike.
They were sometimes told to teach about cosmology, as instructional stories for the young, to explain
history, and sometimes just for the sake of telling and listening to a funny story. In all these different
cases, Coyote stories are a reflection for our own lives, pointing out the smallest miseries and the
biggest strengths of humans. Unfortunately for him, in the present tale, Coyote serves as the example
of a negative attitude, which finally always leads to a tragic end. A different approach to the trickster
tradition in Native American oral

11. The Banning Of Abortion In The United States
A sixteen year old cancer patient was denied her chemotherapy because it would mean she had abort

Unfortunately it was too late. Rosa was thirteen weeks pregnant when she died and had a miscarriage
followed by cardiac arrest. If a mother s life is in danger and the doctor knows there is no way to save
the baby then they need to save the mother no matter what. A doctor has a responsibility to take care
of their patient and treat their patient to their specific needs (Swanson, Kara W). Although many

An average of 89,000 rape cases are reported annually, the United States is the sixth state with the
highest rape counts (Rape Statistics.). Women who are raped become emotionally, physically, and
sometimes mentally affected, and sometimes those women or young girls who are raped become
pregnant and seek abortion to help them in their unfortunate situation. Abortion is a choice that a
mother make and that choice stays with them forever (Brown, Kristi Burton). Abortion can also
mentally and physically harm not just the other but the baby also. There are three main ways a doctor
can do an abortion, partial birth abortion, dilation and evacuation, and saline abortion. When a doctor
completes a partial birth abortion they are sucking the brain out of the baby and killing them, when
dilation and evacuation is completed they take a sharp edged instrument and grasp the baby shredding
them to pieces. A Saline solution is just how it sounds, the fluids are replaced with saline and it kills
off the baby ( Unborn Babies Can Feel Pain. ). Some people can find this relieving that they are no
longer going to have their baby but the toll it can take on them really isn t worth it. Mothers who
decide to abort their baby can end up with more health risks emotionally and physically than a mother
who decides to just have the baby. Women who abort are two times more likely to become

The goal of this paper is to demonstrate how political parties and interest groups are able to get
citizens to participate in politics and political party participants or interest group members. This is a
comparison and contrast paper. The following will be a comparison between political parties and
interest groups. Three points will be mentioned. The first point will be the purpose, the second will be
the role they play and finally three strategies parties and interest groups use to get people to
participate.
A political party is a group of well dedicated people who unite to win elections, operate the
government, and determine public policy. Political parties are fairly different from interest groups.
Interest groups want to influence not necessarily run the government. Political parties have numerous
key purposes. These purposes include run and select a good candidate for office. Along with
monitoring power added by several other parties and also advising citizens on a lot of issues. There are
two political parties in the U.S. which are Republican and Democrat. These two parties maneuver the
national and local level. So, basically the purpose of a political party is to create something noticeable
for someone so that more people can come together and help their cause.

16. Intellectual Property And Copyright Property Rights Essay
Introduction
When we use our mind as the intelligent humans we are, sometimes out of that comes Intellectual
property. Intellectual property is an idea that was created by one with the intention to trademark,
copyright or patent the creation they have made. There are many forms of intellectual property that
exist ranging from artistic sides to mechanical sides and etc. With those many forms intellectual
property is broken down into two factions, industrial property and copyright in which all the forms of
intellectual property lye somewhere in those two factions. To understand intellectual property a little
more we need too look at the two and break down the factions. Also take a look at the protection and
the laws that pertain to copyright, trademarks, and patents.
Discussion
The term intellectual property refers to the innovations of the human mind. Intellectual property rights
protect the interests of these innovators by giving them property rights attached to those ideas. The
term intellectual property rights stands for these legal rights that authors, inventors, and other creators
have. Intellectual property laws relate to a particular way in which ideas or information is expressed or
displayed, but not the actual ideas or exact concept itself. The first use of the expression intellectual
property appears to be October 1845, in Davoll vs. Brown, a patent case in Massachusetts. Justice
Charles Woodbury said that only in this way can we protect

Male dependence and dominance in A Streetcar Named Desire
For many generations American men have dominated both marital relationships and society in
general. This domination has resulted in a dependence on men for economic stability and an illusory
happiness believed by women. This falsified necessity for a male counterpart has resulted in the
destruction of female independence and sexual oppression. Through close analysis of the behaviors
and beliefs of the female protagonist in the play, A streetcar named desire by Tennessee Williams, it is
evident that Blanche and Stella live in a patriarchal society in which they overly depend on men for
happiness and success; as a result ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Through close research of this play, many quotes from both primary and secondary sources prove her
dependence. We can assume that Blanche s entire perspective is that men are her only source of
happiness and success. First, Blanche is very conscious of her appearance; hiding herself under dim
lights and make up, afraid of being judged by men around her. Whoever you are I have always
depended on the kindness of strangers (Williams 142), Blanche s need for kindness of strangers refers
to her miscellaneous encounters with men in the past to make her feel worthy. She means what she
says when she urges them not to notice her (toles). Toles refers to scene 3, where it is evident that
Blanche seeks approval from men around her even though they payed no mind to her. Another
demonstration of her need for admiration to gain self confidence is this excerpt You haven t said a
word about my appearance (Williams 21), where she urged Stanley to notice her to fulfill her desire to
feel beautiful. Not only did Blanche believe a male s opinion was almost a necessity, she also believed
that they were the only thing that can save her despair. In scene four Blanche states Y know how
indifferent I am to money. I think of money in terms of what it does for you but he could do it, he
could certainly do it (67) the reader can assume she believes that Shep Huntleigh can pull her and her
sister Stella out their poverty. Since she has shown a willingness to believe that shep huntleigh, a
creature of fantasy, may be coming to rescue her........ (toles) she makes believe that shep huntleigh, a
man she no longer has a relationship with , is going to save her from her misery; again showing that
without a man she can t be successful. Moreover ,Blanche also sees Mitch as an opportunity to

increase in loan losses for subprimes. Banks were lending money to people that did not have the
capability to maintain a regular repayment schedule. Homeowners only had the ability to pay the

The biggest issue since the Great Depression was to continue regulating the financial sector to avoid
the same crisis that the United State had just suffered. However, for regulations to be implemented
effectively, it was crucial that it was well designed; even then there was a possibility that it might not
work. Greed and vested interest are likely to hijack the politics of regulation design. In the 1980 s the
financial industry exploded. Investment banks went public giving them the ability to get additional
funds from stakeholders to spend. Investing companies began to become richer and more powerful
than ever before. When Ronald Reagan became President of the United States, a 30 year financial
deregulation began with the support of economists and financial lobbyists. The Regan administration
began to deregulate savings and loan companies, allowing them to make riskier investments with
depositors money . Hundreds of saving and loan companies failed in their investments and in the end
of the decade declared bankruptcy. The memories from the earlier great Depression began to diminish
and the government stated that the marketplace must be set free. This led to the precautionary rules to
be scrapped. Together with looser lending standards for other kinds of consumer credit, this led to a
radical change in American behavior. A New Era After the major failure of many savings and loans

Adnan comes to Jay s house to pick him up and lend him his car, while he goes back to school. After
this Jay uses the car to go over to Jennifer s(friend of Jay s) house. This is where the first conflict in
stories takes place. Jenn says she got home before Jay got to her house, while Jay says he got home
before she did. Jay says he got there before her because he wanted to hang with Mark, who is Jenn s
brother. Another thing conflicting their testimonies is whether Jay left Jenn s house or stayed there
most of the afternoon. Jenn says that Jay never left till the afternoon, while Jay says he left multiple
times. There is one thing that Jenn and Jay agree on which is Jay left around 3:30pm to 3:40pm.
Although they both agree on this, Jenn says she remembers Jay getting two phone calls from someone
around that time too. The problem with that statement is that the calls could not have been from Adnan
or to Adnan s phone because of the AT T call logs. The call log shows that a call only at 3:15pm and
4:30pm occurred, therefore Jay could not have received a call on Adnan s cell at 4:30pm. During all

21. Development And Development Of Developing Nations
We Are The Change
The term Development have been intermittently used to describe the effort to lift up the developing
nations out of poverty and improve their livelihood. Development is a fondness for big goals and the
big plans, however at the same time too rigid to predict what will work in the messy real world. The
problem is, many development initiatives have gone wrong, and continue to. In fact, people who work
in the various sectors of development admit that on a whole development is not working. The reasons
for their failure are numerous, ranging from, history, cultural, colonialists, religion, instability,
corruption, racism, poor leadership, etc.
But who is responsible for our nation development and growth one may ask?
In this paper, I will be focusing on individuals of developing nations role in development since they re
major contributors to growth and capable of more than what we recognize.
What is growth?
We all are familiar with the term growth. Whether from the newspaper, TV. or from social media,
usually involves GDP (gross domestic product) a tool used to measure the growth of a country. It is a
primary indicator used to gauge the health of a country s economy. High GDP means low
unemployment and higher incomes as businesses demand labor to meet the growing economy, and
that reflects on the development of the country, leaving poverty and entering the growth phase (a
constant rate of GDP).
With the lack of the necessary elements of growth comes

22. Emile Durkheim Sociology
Gender and Race: I think for Gillman, with the rise of the Industrial Revolution and work moving
more towards machinery and men, she may have felt that women would become so marginalized that
they would only be looked at for family and childcare. Before the Revolution, women were the
primary caregivers and workers of the household and on farms. They would make the clothes, gather
and cook the food, care for the children. This dramatic shift from relying on women for household
products to these products being produced in a factory and by men caused women to feel less valued
and only useful for childbearing and childcare. I think for Gillman, she wanted to prove that women

He focused more on society as a whole and what units or tears it apart. Durkheim believed that
religion, be it a belief system with a deity or not, unified societies. Durkheim went as far as to define
magic and science as a religion since they brought people together who shared beliefs and values. This
unification is what kept societies and individuals going, also known as social solidarity. Durkheim
argued that, within social solidarity, there needs to be a balance of regulation and integration. Societies
who do not have a good balance of both either fail or give way to dictators and tear their society apart.
One of the biggest topics Durham worked on is that of suicide. In studying this, he was identified four
different types of suicide; Egoistic, Anomic, Altruistic, and Fatalistic. All four can are still evident in
the modern world. Egoistic suicide can be related to someone who is bullied and degraded by society
so much so that they feel unable to live within their society. Anomic suicide can be seen when an
individual looses all he / she has and decides the only way out is suicide. Altruistic suicide is evident
with suicide bombers and other terrorist attacks where the perpetrator ends up taking their life. Finally,
Fatalistic suicide can be seen when an individual feels as if their self being is lost and instead is placed

National Lemon Meringue Pie Day in the United States
When life gives you lemons you should make not lemonade but lemon meringue pie. National Lemon
Meringue Pie Day is an unofficial national holiday in the United States of America. The National
Lemon Meringue Pie Day is celebrated the 15th of August.
Lemon meringue pie is a dessert pie that s constructed in three parts. The crust is a shortbread pastry
crust, the filling is lemon curd or lemon custard, while the top is a delicate and fluffy meringue. The
shortbread crust is prepared beforehand and is lightly baked before constructing the pie. The texture
and taste should remind people of a light cookie. The lemon custard is a standard custard made from
egg yolks, cream, sugar, and lemon juice. The meringue is constructed by beating the egg whites,

Meringue was perfected in the 17th century in France and lemon meringue pies started becoming a

originated in Philadelphia. Elizabeth Goodfellow was a pastry shop owner who operated the first
cooking school in America in the 19th century. Her signature dish was her lemon pudding and one day
she thought to finish her pudding off with a top layer of meringue. This was a relatively new concept
in the world of baking because of how tricky a perfect meringue is to accomplish. Lemon custards
demand a lot of egg yolks and often the egg whites were going to waste. Since meringue only calls for
egg whites, cream of tartar, and sugar it seemed like a perfect solution to the waste problem. The
product was a huge success and Goodfellow continued to top her custards with meringue. This
resourcefulness led to a lemon meringue pie being created in

How to Grow Tomatoes from a Seedling
Growing tomatoes is a simple and rewarding task, and more people should be growing them. This
paper walks readers through the main steps for growing and maintaining patio tomatoes from a
seedling.
The first step in growing tomatoes is determining if you have the appropriate available space and
sunlight to grow them. All tomato varieties require full sunlight, which means at least six hours of
direct sun every day. If you have south facing windows or a patio or backyard that receives direct
sunlight, you should be able to grow tomatoes. Choose the location that receives the most sun.

The containers can be used in the house, on a patio, or anywhere in the backyard, and they are
portable. Containers also tend to better regulate moisture and drain excess water. Choose a container
that is at least 10 inches in diameter and at least 1 foot deep. This will provide sufficient room for root
development.
In addition to the container, you also need the appropriate soil mixture and draining mechanisms. For
the best drainage, fill the bottom of your container with 2 or 3 inches of gravel. On top of the gravel,
fill ¾ of the container with soil. Choose a well balanced organic soil. The three main ingredients you
will find described on soil bags are N P K that is, nitrogen, phosphorus, and potassium. Without going
into too much detail about the role of each element in plant growth, I will tell you that an average
vegetable will grow fine in a 10 5 5 mixture. This ratio, too, will be easy to find at your local nursery.
Once you have the gravel in the bottom of the container and the soil on top, you are ready to transplant
the tomato. Pick up the tomato in the plastic container it comes in from the nursery. Turn it upside
down, and holding the stem between your fingers, pat the bottom lightly several times, and the plant
should fall into your hand. Next, you should gently break up the root ball that formed in the nursery
container with your hands. Be gentle, but be sure to

of the Jewish people. Judaism is a monotheistic religion that believes in the god named HaShem. It
was founded around 1800 B.C.E in Israel by Abraham. Abraham and Moses were very important
people, Abraham being the prophet of God and Moses saving hundreds of slaves from Egypt. The

Jewish people worship their religions in temples and learn their religion from their sacred text, Torah.
The religion teaches the Ten Commandments, which teaches to cause no harm and to remain peaceful.
Some rules are to not eat pork and rest on Sabbath. The goal of Judaism is to maintain a positive moral

composed of about one million units called nephrons, and each nephron consists of two parts: a filter,
called the glomerulus and a tubule leading out from the nephrons (Cameron 1999). According to
Marshall and Bangert (2008), the kidneys have three major functions: firstly, the kidneys excrete
waste from plasma in the blood. Secondly, they maintain extracellular fluid volume and composition.
Lastly, the kidneys play a role in hormone synthesis. There are many diseases that might infect the

However, when the kidneys stop working completely, the situation known as end stage renal failure
(ESRF) occurs in CRF. Some diseases may cause CRF when patients are infected for a long time.
Diabetes Mellitus One of the diseases that can cause CRF is diabetes mellitus, a major cause of renal
failure. This disease can be defined as an increase in fasting blood glucose as a result of a deficiency
in insulin, which is a hormone. The normal range for glucose (fasting) in the blood is 2.8 6.0 mmol/L.
Diabetes Mellitus is classified into two groups: type 1 (insulin dependent) and type 2 (non insulin
dependent). The difference between them is that, in type 1, the body does not produce enough insulin,
but in type 2 the body does not make effective use of this hormone. Stein (2008, p. 6) points out that
kidney failure most often occurs when patients have suffered from diabetes mellitus for more than 10
years. According to a report by the U.S. Renal Data System (USRDS) in 2007, the cause of
approximately 44% of renal failure in 2005 was diabetes mellitus. Stein (2008) also indicates that 15%
of dialysis patients are influenced by diabetes mellitus in the United Kingdom. Diabetes mellitus has
negative effects on the kidneys, where the increase in range of blood sugar causes damage to kidney
cells, in particular the nephrons. This can

the killers. Dave Cullen exposes Dylan Klebold and Eric Harris the Columbine shooters; everything

throughout Columbine.
The writing technique used throughout Columbine exemplify the different treatment of the killers.
Eric being a psychopath that felt no remorse, and Dylan being humanized as a person who is lost in
his own sadness. Cullen treats the boys differently by using techniques such as plot order; using a
rearranged common plot order makes Dylan seem like a more relatable person, and more deserving of
forgiveness. Cullen uses a reassembled common plot order by starting the book with a scene that
happened a week before the shooting. But instead of following the normal path, Cullen then uses
background information which includes the feelings of the killers. He then changes to a scene from the
past again to further progress to the climax of the book. Cullen uses this technique to create bonds
between the reader and the characters; in the process of doing this he makes leeway for Dylan s softer
side to be shown. It is important that he does this so that he can fully expose the innermost thoughts of
the killers. Throughout the book there are many accounts of the journals written by each of the boys.
