Erik Erikson s Theory Of Psychology
Erik Erikson was a well known 20th century psychologist who made various contributions to the field
of psychology. He was born on June 15, 1902 in Frankfurt, Germany. His unnamed Danish biological
father abandoned Erik s mother before he was born. Erik was raised by his mother, Karla Abrahamsen,
for the first three years and she married Dr. Theodor Homberger in 1905. His mother and stepfather
raised him and Erik took his stepfather s name, Erik Abrahamsen. Erik had blond hair, blue eyes, and
Nordic looks. Thus, he was teased for having Nordic looks in the community. On the other hand, he
was teased at the grammar school for being a Jewish. Erik struggled with his identity and had
difficulties not fitting in with either culture. In this ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Three stages are faced by most school aged children. Stage three, initiative vs. guilt, is for
preschoolers. If they are given freedom to imagine, be responsible, take decisions, to plan, then
tendency toward initiative will be encouraged. However, if children are always restricted and not
shown any appreciation for their ideas or decisions, they will feel guilty about acting on their own.
The fourth stage, industry vs. inferiority, is for students of elementary and middle school. Children are
encouraged to do things well and finish tasks. They are praised for their achievements and they
develop self confidence and industry. But, children who fail to achieve or who are constantly criticized
will be left with the feeling of inferiority. Identity vs. role confusion is the fifth stage faced by
adolescence, from 12 18 years. In this stage, adolescents seek their true selves and identity through
exploration of different behaviors, values, and beliefs. If adolescent succeeds, identity develops and if
they don t, it results into role confusion. When an adolescent is challenged by role confusion, Erikson
said, that adolescent is suffering from an identity crisis. Understanding sense of self is important in
this stage of the theory in order to find success in next stages. If an adolescent gets stuck at this stage,
he or she will be unable to

The Service Of Service Design
We have learnt from Servicer Strategy that service means to provide guidance on design, and how to
implement them according to the needs of the customer. From the service lifecycle Service Design
comes after the service strategy (Annexure A). The service design is not limited to new services, but
also to old services which are need to improve the service design which are necessary to maintain the
value to customers. The main objective of service design is designing an innovative idea or to change
an existing design into a live environment. To change a design or to implement there are several
requirements. These requirements are taken from the service portfolios and they are analyzed. There
are teams which will indulge in this process and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They said that design is moving closer to the social innovation linking its characteristics at different
levels. For example, service and relationships to social needs or improving life conditions and social
situations.
In order to successfully implement the plan of design or projects of service management there has to
be efficient use of 4P s: The People, the Process, the Products and the Partners. To function the service
management, the 4P s must be overlapped to each other. There should balance between all the 4P s to
ensure safe and appropriate design. The design approach must be comprehensive, because most of the
problems faced by the organizations are focus on the functional requirements. The design architecture
should be considered from all the aspects. Therefore, there are several design aspects, they are:
Service level management, Availability management, Service catalogue management, Security
management, Capacity management, IT service continuity management.
Service Level Management:
Service level management is an important link between IT and business. Service level provides a good
foundation for good quality service, cost reduction IT services and ensuring compliance with the
service goals and customer s expectations. An effective service level system will always ensure that
the key aspects are met in time where risks is not into picture. For an effective business, IT service
level provider can improve clients service delivery and satisfaction.

The Cause Of The Stono Rebellion, South Carolina
On Sunday, September 9th, 1739 the British colony of South Carolina was shaken by a slave uprising
that culminated with the death of sixty people (The Stono Rebellion 1739). It was one of the first
organized slave revolts in history (Stono Rebellion 1739). As a result, the Stono Rebellion started to
change viewpoints on slavery. Slave revolts started to become a problem for plantation owners. Due to
this conflict over slave revolts, specifically the Stono Rebellion, South Carolina compromised by
passing the Negro Act of 1740 and other laws regarding slavery. At the time of the Stono Rebellion,
Spanish Florida, a separate entity from the British colonies until 1763, became known as a safe haven
for fugitive slaves (Stono Rebellion 1739). Seeking to cause turmoil in British colonies, Spain passed
a law stating that any escaped slave that reaches Spanish territory (which is now Florida) would be
freed. In response to this new law, a group of slaves led by a Angolan slave named Jemmy, met on
September 9, 1739 near the Stono river to plan an escape to Spanish Florida (The Stono Rebellion
Timeline). They planned to revolt on a Sunday when they had the most freedom from their daily
routine. In preparation for their escape, it was realized that many of the slaves involved in the Stono
Rebellion were from Congo (Stono Rebellion 1739). At the time, Congo was at war with itself making
its people susceptible to being captured and sent into slavery (Stono Rebellion 1739). With this

The Power Of Love In The Knight s Tale
In Geoffrey Chaucer s The Knight s Tale, love is the most important part of the story. William
Shakespeare once said, The course of true love never did run smooth. This quote reflects the story of
the Knights Arcite and Palamon. During their imprisonment, they fall in love with Emelye, which
sends them into a frenzy of love and suffering. Arcite and Palamon show that love is synonymous to
suffering through imprisonment, banishment, and battle.
First, Arcite and Palamon s imprisonment compares the power of love to suffering. The tower where
the King Theseus imprisons the Knights is close to the garden wall where Emelye spends her days.
There would be no conflict involving love if the tower was in another location or if Emelye spent her
time elsewhere. The Knights know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Though Palamon and Arcite know they will spend the rest of their days in confinement, they are able
to at least find comfort in seeing Emelye daily. Seeing Emelye is the only positive in the Knights lives
at this point. According to Julie Peakman, medieval lovers [are] kept apart due to circumstances
beyond their control and [live] their daily lives pragmatically (37). Palamon and Arcite s circumstance
is is a common occurrence for the time period and not unique to the story. Next, Arcite s banishment
reflects the similarities of love and suffering. King Theseus grants Arcite his freedom, but Arcite faces
banishment from Theseus kingdom from then on. For Arcite, banishment is a fate worse than
imprisonment. Arcite exclaims he was doomed eternally to dwell no more in Purgatory, but in Hell.
Arcite s banishment devastates him because it means he will never see the love of his life Emelye
again. He believes Palamon blissfully serves his indenture in paradise rather than prison as Palamon
has Emelyes presence while he has the loss. Arcite is unable to find satisfaction even though he is free.

Sverdlovsk Conspiracy Essay
Sverdlovsk 1979: An Unexplained Epidemic When you hear the name Sverdlovsk, you think
conspiracy, lies, and deceptions. The reason for this is, the city had been no stranger to such things for
nearly a century. Sverdlovsk, now known as Ekaterinburg, is a city in Russia that once had 1.2 million
people and was the industrial center of the Ural mountain region (Mangold Goldberg, 1999). It is
home to Military Compound 19, an institute built in 1947 used to produce special bacteria and toxins
for bio weapons. It also housed roughly 2,000 USSR troops and their families. To the untrained eye,
this place looks nothing more than a military garrison. Though, deep in the center there are heavily
guarded 10 foot high, double barbed wire fences surrounding a building. The personnel in that
building were producing large quantities of dried, powdered anthrax spores (Mangold Goldberg,
1999). Were they using the facility to create biological warfare or were they using it to create a

Hunter-Gatherers In Ancient Civilization
Approximately 2.5 million years ago humans lived as hunter gatherers that would move in bands, later
on, they would turn into the great civilization of the ancient world due to better technique and a more
organized society. Starting from the neolithic age which consists of hunter gatherers. There were
basically early modern humans. Hunter gatherers had populated a lot of the earth by 30,000 years ago,
continued the hunter and gathering way of life. They would feed off of wild plants and animals and
move from one location to another. They would also use the fur of their killings as clothes. In a
hunting and gatherings economy, they would move from one location to another to secure their food
supply. Hunter gatherers were very self sufficient.
The change comes from around 10,000 years ago when people first discover how to cultivate crops
and domesticate animals. This meant they could stay in sedentary areas. This lead to a more efficient
living. Hunter gatherers were no longer nomads and soon would become pastoral nomads since they
stayed in permanent areas. The areas they settled around was near rivers since they needed a water

Richard Wagner
The Sadie Wagner case is laced with great opportunity that failed to bloom. What occurred in
Germany was an instance of an excellent employee encountering a mismatch of work cultures and
expectations. Much like planting a seed in an empty vase, there was little chance for success in the
long term. For the sake of productivity, we must understand the conditions that lead to Sadie s
withdrawal from the position to avoid repeated mistakes in future expatriates assignments.
The first issue that must be addressed is the lack of engagement for Sadie s aspirations. It is
understandable that Sadie, as a dedicated employee with defined career goals, would desire a
challenging but rewarding work environment. Thus, when she began feeling underutilized and
prohibited from taking initiative as she was wont to do in her previous position, this established a
significant disconnect between Sadie and her workplace. With this in mind, it is unsurprising that she

The identification and characterization of the structures of unknown substances are an important part
of Organic Chemistry. In this experiment a sample of an unknown aldehyde or ketone was obtained.
From this sample two solid derivatives were prepared. Their melting points were obtained and
compared to those listed in the Table of Aldehyde Ketone Derivatives. From this the unknown sample
was identified. As additional aid a Benedict s test and Iodoform test were used. These are functional
group tests used for distinguishing between aldehydes, ketones and methyl ketones. A Benedict s test

This was accomplished through functional group tests, preparation of two solid derivatives and

determined to be cinnamaldehyde due to the odor it produced when the various tests were performed.
Even though the melting points obtained from the Dinitrophenylhydrazone and Semicarbazone
derivatives were not close to the melting points of cinnamaldehyde (255℃ and 215℃ respectively)
the odor gave a clue to the unknown compound. The melting point differences could have been due to
human error handling the glassware and following the lab manual instructions.

Residential Schools
Case Study: Residential Schools
Examining the residential school system in Canada between the 1870s and 1996 exposes numerous
human rights and civil liberties violations of individuals by the government. This case study involves
both de jure discrimination and de facto discrimination experienced by Aboriginals based on their
culture. The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms specifically protects Aboriginal rights under
section 25 and section 15 declares that, Every individual is equal before and under the law (Sharpe
Roach, 2009, p. 307). Human rights and civil liberties of Aboriginal children and parents were ignored

257). The programs were put in place as a method of imposing norms on a younger generation that
had been deemed fit for transformation (Ibid). This policy resulted in a vulnerable group being
removed from their homes and placed into an environment plagued with physical, sexual, emotional,
and spiritual abuse. Isolation from all aspects of one s culture was degrading, isolating, and
discouraging.
The implementation of residential schools can be considered an action taken with societies best
interests in mind. The policy initially appeared to be free from de jure discrimination since the purpose
was to empower the aboriginal population and give them the tools they needed to succeed in a modern
society. The abuse suffered by the students did not appear to be an intentional result of the assimilation
policy adopted by the government. Policy makers had a desire to create a generation of aboriginals
accustomed to the ways of civilized life (Llewellyn, 2002, p. 257). Unfortunately the policy had flaws
and experiences in residential schools have resulted in numerous accounts of injuries sustained and
psychological damage (Akhtar, 2010, p. 263). The fact that discrimination actively occurred to this
group of people is an example of de facto discrimination.
Church Organizations The Catholic Church and United Church of Canada are responsible for
discriminating aboriginal peoples

People s Views On Witches
People s views on witches have transformed from the pre modern period to today. During the pre
modern time, many people believed the Devil carried out evil deeds through witches, but the witches
were to blame for all of the misfortunes caused (Kramer and Sprenger 2). The modern era, though,
rejects that belief. Today, it is rumored that witches are no longer associated with the Devil, and a
witch is anyone at all who performs magic (Bolds 1). The definition of a witch as a whole has
transformed completely due to the diversity in opinions. Initially, it appears a witch can be defined as
a person who performs magic by conforming to these simple guidelines; however, I argue that a witch
is much more complex than that because magic can be used for good or evil in witchcraft. Witchcraft
does not directly correspond to religion; however, religions may have certain beliefs about witchcraft.
In their pre modern treatise Malleus Maleficarum, Heinrich Kramer and James Sprenger state that
witchcraft is futile without the Devil, a witch, and the permission of God (Kramer and Sprenger 12).
In the modern text RELIGIOUS: Witches, not what you d expect, Meagan Bolds argues that a person
can practice any religion or no religion and still be referred to as a witch. The only condition for Bolds
is that the person holds the ability to perform magic of some sort (Bolds 1). Therefore, magic no
longer stands as a burden to society. Instead, Bolds thinks of magic as a right (Bolds 1). This

assigned to do. The future, we plan for. The present, we live for, and the past we will never speak of.
We all have a job to do, and as we achieve them, we need to learn our ways there and back. Forget the
past, and look forward to the future. We of all people need to respect and obey what we choose for

We do not like to think of the Unmentionable Times. Also we may not speak of the Unmentionable
Times either. This is one of the rules because we must respect everyone in the community that has
been through this. The Unmentionable Times happened before the Great Rebirth. The last rule for the
society is that we must not keep secrets from people and the Councils. If we find out that someone is
keeping a secret they will be punished to go to the Corrective Detention till they tell. Depends on how
big the secret is though. For an example from the book, Equality 7 2521 kept a secret that he created
light in his secret tunnel. He then got caught. He went to the Council of the Home, but he didn t tell
them where he has been. Then the Council brought him to the Corrective Detention to lash at him till
he told. We should not keep secrets because everyone should know equally what everybody knows.
All of these rules must be followed for us to reach our goal as a society. As a society we will all
become one together and accomplish many goals in the future. As we look forward to our destiny we
wonder how we all have grown as a civilization. As we follow these rules we take the steps of future.
As we look ahead we must see how we will

The Effects Of Injury Assessment On Athletes Participating
Soccer like other popular sports has a risk of injury for the athletes participating. As a part of the
sports medicine team it is crucial to be able to treat these injuries effectively and ultimately have the
athlete returning to play as soon as possible. Injuries to the lower extremities are the most common in
soccer. These injuries may be traumatic, such as a kick to the leg or a twist to the knee, or result from
overuse of a muscle, tendon, or bone (1). This information will be helpful when assessing an injury.
The three steps of injury assessment are, determine the type and extent of the injury, locate signs and
symptoms, and finally compare bilaterally to notice any deformities (2). Our injury assessment is
aided by the popular acronym H.O.P.S. Which stands for history, observation, palpation, and special
tests. History is crucial for diagnosing an injury and would usually be found out by asking questions
such as, what happened? , Has it happened before? . Asking this can locate any repetitive motions or
actions that have been causing this injury. Observation is looking for signs, which are observable
deformities such as a rash, swelling, or dislocation. Next is palpation, which is touching to look for
pain or unusual textures on the skin. Finally, special tests, these are used to rule in/rule out injuries
based on specific joint tests. One of the most important things for any sports medicine team to know is
the emergency actions plan for their facility. This is a

Theme Of Literary Realism In A Dill Pickle
The world contains myriads of different people, therefore, it is not unlikely that some feel the need to
identify themselves with fictional characters. Fabricating characters can be perceived as the most
intricate part of writing because many consider characters to be the heart of pieces of literature.
Authors establish protagonists and antagonists in their works which gives them the ability to sway the
readers in the direction of who to root for. Many subconsciously discover themselves in fictional
characters, this allows them to enjoy their seemingly realistic read further. This is the use of literary
realism the authentic representation of literature realistically. Connecting with a character makes one
further immersed in their reading as they hope to understand more about not only the reader but
themselves. Relatable characters can be vital in literature as it makes the reader feel that their novel or
short story could actually take place. In Katherine Mansfield s short story, A Dill Pickle , a run in at a
cafe between two old lovers is filled with vacillation. Readers can feel themselves identify with the
protagonist, Vera, as she endures a well known uncomfortable situation. During the realization of lost
love, with the aid of literary realism, Mansfield depicts Vera as a relatable character to readers through
her personal thoughts, flashbacks, and her loneliness.
Literary realism is the incorporation of verisimilitude in literature. The utilization of using realistic
situations, people, and settings captivates readers as they can imagine or relate to the story and or the
characters. In addition, realism, which emphasizes the importance of the ordinary, the ordinary person
and the ordinary situation, tends to reject the heroic and the aristocratic and embrace the pedestrian,
the comic, and the middle class (Landow). Rather than writing novels with predictable and happy
endings as well as fantasies, works realism include subject matter that most can apply to everyday life.
After a six year hiatus between Vera and her unnamed past lover, a chance encounter takes place
causing pushed away feelings to be brought back to surface. Though Vera speaks scarcely, readers
understand her through her inner

Examples Of Substance Abuse
Substance abuse is something that many people struggle with. It is something that nobody assumes
could happen to him or her, but once that person becomes addicted, there is nothing stopping him or
her. I personally have a friend who has suffered from addiction for 3 years, the story hits home
because I have seen what being a drug addict can do to one s emotional wellbeing, their physical
appearance, and the toll it can take on their family. Drugs, whether done in moderation or excess, have
the potential to overpower a person s normal judgment, causing them to act in ways that normally
would not be done. My friend since elementary school never quite found his niche. He was always
getting into trouble and overall trying to take the easy way out of life. But once he entered high
school, he began to take serious risks. For example, one Friday before going to the local carnival, a
few friends drank beers and he was there as well. Most of the kids stopped at a few, but ... Show more

Since addiction ran in his family, his parents were very willing to accommodate and help him out. His

Descriptive Essay On A Water Park
The wet and wild idea
The sun was bright and there was warmth in the air so it was a great day to go to a water park with my
friend Darcy. We were going to be the first ones down the huge water slide. We had been waiting all
night and day to go down this exciting ride. There needs to be four people to go down this water slide
but there are just the two of us so we will just need to try and get a lot of speed up at the start and hope
that we can get to the end of the water slide. We want to be the first ones down it but we look to our
right and there are hundreds of people waiting to go down it. We need to think of a plan to get around
the huge line of people.
There s a lifeguard blocking the only way to get up to the water slide so we will have to be careful
there so they won t catch us sneaking past the line. We will have to distract the lifeguard. Darcy you
will need to tell the lifeguard that someone is stealing his car. Then we can crab a raft and run up the
stairs to the top of the water slide. We can quickly jump onto the raft and go down the water slide.
When we get to the end of the waterslide we will run to the busiest pool and jump into the busiest pool
so that the lifeguards can t spot us. Ok that s the plan now we have to do that, Darcy muttered.
Ok the water slide jets turn on in five minutes so we have five minutes to find a hiding spot. It would
be a good idea to hide near the rafts so that we can grab one straight away and run up the stairs Darcy

Russia s Information War Against The Ultra Conservative...
By John Foley, US Army, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired)
Russia is engaging the United States in an information war designed to fracture the US along ethnic
and racial lines. They are targeting the ultra conservative population of the United States with a covert
information campaign. The goal is to influence and persuade ultra conservatives that the US
Government is illegitimate and needs to oppose it by force of arms. This article lays out Russia s
information war influencing the ultra conservative population.
The recent Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee s computers servers has
highlighted Russia s nefarious information war against the US. In recent years Russia developed a
highly capable method of waging information warfare and they are now aggressively targeting the US.
The Russian strategy has focused on digitally infiltrating and influencing through social media the
conservative movement in the United States in order to make it hostile to its own government.
Russia s information war may appear a nuisance to our national defense, but I argue this is an
existential threat facing the US far greater than ISIS, ballistic missiles, or even the regular Russian
Armed Forces. These are still threats, but not to the degree of Russia s information war. This
information war is aimed directly at American society and is designed to destroy our society. Russia s
information war against the Ukraine and other eastern European nations is understood very

John Locke s Theory On Modern Science
John Locke s theories on how knowledge is gained through the senses and how there are different
kinds of experiences and ideas adds to, and justifies, the movement of modern science. Modern
science is all about observing the natural world in order to understand and gain knowledge about what
is going around us. I agree that humans do gain knowledge and form different kinds of ideas through
our senses and different experiences.
The reoccurring theme with John Locke s theory on modern science is the idea of the senses and how
knowledge is made through sense data. Empiricism is the notion that all knowledge comes from sense
experience. We, as conscious individuals, do not know anything until we experience it with our own
senses, which then our senses shape our mind on how we view and understand a certain object as well
as his concept of simple and complex ideas Lock, and many other empiricists, believes in Tabula rasa,
which states there are no such thing as innate ideas, and that we are all blank slates. We are only able
to fill this blank slate through experiences with our senses. Without experiencing something, we know
have knowledge, which makes sense. Back in the cave man days, our ancestors did not have science
or history books to know that fire keeps you warm when it is cold outside. They had to pretty much
figure it out on their own. They had to discover first how to make fire, then feel that the fire was hot,
then figure out that that the fire could keep them warm in

more towards the literary fiction. As I read this book, the unique plot and the first person of the
protagonist is the narrator was very interesting.

distinction of the plot of commercial fiction is that the story is unconventional the ending is not really

Initially, the story starts with the quote of the narrator saying, I vowed revenge , and this shows that
this story will be about one character s revenge towards the other one. Within the theme, Poe, the
author has created suspense by foreshadowing that there will be a revenge of the narrator against
Fortunato. Including the theme revenge, another theme could be the betrayal. Fortunato had trusted the
narrator, Montresor, but the narrator finally betrays Fortunato. This kind of theme can be found in the
real world, so it can be considered as a literary fiction because one of the characteristics of literary
fiction is helping us to better understand the real world.
The book Cask of Amontillado is a book with unique content that attracts a lot of readers, and there

The Death Of The Native American Population
Suicide in the Native American Population of the Northeastern United States While the Native
American population encounters many health disparities; of growing concern, is the rates of suicide
among these communities. The U.S. National Library of Medicine defines health disparities as the
variation in rates of disease occurrence and disabilities between socioeconomic and /or geographically
defined population groups . When looking at the Native American population of the northeastern
United States, there are many factors that contribute to these alarming numbers. These include gun
availability, rural locations of communities and reservations, privacy of Native people, distrust of
outside help, alcoholism, depression, lack of resources, and acculturation stress. Many of these factors
are a way of life for the Native American population. Guns are in most homes and used for hunting
and sport. The rural locations are a way of being surrounded by all that is living and therefore, well
being of the people. Alcohol abuse is a learned and shared behavior among many families and
throughout the generations. The high rates of depression are often self medicated and contribute to the
substance abuse issues already abundant within the community. It is a difficult situation to realize the
very culture of a people may be the conduit to the problems they encounter. This can make the health

Narcissistic Stereotypes
The youngest generation obsesses over gaining approval in a way unprecedented by the past. This
obsession stems from the increase of narcissistic attitudes found in children, including overconfidence,
a deep need for admiration, and a lack of empathy (Mayo Clinic Staff). The skyrocketing growth of
social networking and the increase in the prevalence of superficial celebrities shown in the media only
enhances narcissistic behaviors. However, these attitudes are initially caused by the actions of parents.

vain celebrities instead of focusing on the successes of brilliant, hard working people. Social media
takes away the emotional involvement in relationships and replaces those feelings with shallow

Steven Spielberg s Gertie The Dinosaur
The main problem that animation faces is that it is an overtly fake diegetic form. The viewer is
presented with a constructed reality of drawings and paintings, which may represent the real world,
but unlike photographic film, does not look like it. The challenge therefore is to create characters that
may believably inhabit their particular diegetic reality. Animators have strived to find a way to resolve
this issue through their character design and an awareness of how to deliver narrative information
through their characters. This essay will illustrate the solutions that animators have found to make
their audiences believe what is put in front of them.
In 1914 Winsor McCay took up the (self imposed) challenge of making dinosaurs live again via
animation. The result was Gertie the Dinosaur a semi live act with McCay performing onstage with

the fact that she is thirsty and she drains a lake. The performance would climax with her picking up

Through this series of call and response between the live action McCay and the animated Gertie,
McCay creates the illusion of human understanding within the animated dinosaur. There is also at one
point a look of glee in her face after a fight scene when she throws the defeated mammoth into a lake.
Through the human interaction and the animation McCay has anthropomorphically endowed the
animated creature with human emotions: he has made her believable to the audience by giving her
recognizable human traits.
In his book Understanding Animation Paul Wells recognizes that the use of attributing animated
animal characters anthropomorphic characteristics has become a mainstay of character development.

The Main Reasons For Government And Privatize Their Airports
Week 1: Identify and discuss the main reasons for a government to privatize their airports.
In basic terms Privatisation is essentially the shift of assets from the public or government owned
sector to the private sector, an important point to note is that privatisation doesn t always refer to
ownership, but can also refer only to the management of an organisation.
The advantages of privatisation include greater efficiency and fewer limitations involved in
government spending allowances. Up until the 1990 s privatisation of airports was mainly within the
general aviation, municipal type airfields. Airports were gradually considered as commercial
enterprises , and as such commercialisation began to take place.
Supporters of privatisation argue that it will reduce the need for public investment and give greater
access to commercial markets. By doing this they are limiting government control, which may be a
benefit in itself as there will be more space for diversification. With a wide share of ownership there
can be far greater input from a range of sources. In a sense the government will still benefit from
privatisation, as even though they may have less control overall, they will still benefit from the global
market and from government associated taxes and levies not just on the airports movements but also
taxing of the airport company itself. Conversely on the side of doubt, there is concern that
privatisation may create a monopoly that could potentially be over

The UK coaching framework was revised in 2012/2013 and a more concise document based around
Excellent Coaching Every Time for Everyone which provided a focus on four main key objectives,
these were:
More appropriately qualified and skilled coaches
A more diverse workforce
A culture of self improvement
A better supported workforce.
This report will discuss the current status of coach education and coach learning in the UK. These
findings will then be used to identify and recommend to the management board of Sports Coach UK
and the Minister for sport where the investments from the central Governments for coach education
and development should be placed.

America s Strategic Thinkers Who Think Asia Essay
This essay s topic required to evaluate the opinion that the US s strategic thinkers who think Asia is
more important than the Middle East, are said to be not understanding the situation of the States in
today s international context, and the affections onto its interests. Considering the importance of the
Middle East to Asia will be the focus of this paper, in which the writer agreed with the assumption.
Moreover, there will be reasons why the Middle East is still more important than Asia, along with
comparison for each. And by the end of this essay, with backing from the main part, the conclusion
will be able to show the supports for the mentioned opinion.
To begin, we will start with the historical background of the US with the Middle East and Asia (mostly

basic interests in the Middle East the Security of Israel, access to oil, cooperation with the Soviet
Union (since the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991, the interests doesn t exist anymore. Instead is
the relation with Russia), and the upholding of certain principles. (Tillman, 1982, p. 62) The United

Morgan s Imagined Communities
1.
Imagined communities, according to Anderson, are a form of speech communities created by the mass
production of shared media. They are imagined because members will never meet all other members
face to face. The Morgan piece on speech communities begins by describing a music video, which
itself begins with two rappers speaking on the phone in different languages in different countries.
After a conversation, the two meet up in person and begin the song. Morgan describes this as a speech
community formed around a shared style of music, with members of the community belonging to
various demographics. This would fit Anderson s model of imagined communities as the community
is formed around a shared consumption of a form of media with members who will never interact with
most other members. Anderson s model is primarily criticized for two reasons: it is too vertical and it
ignores hierarchy within communities.

Domino Vietnam War
In Vietnam the U.S lost lots of things like money, power, troops, etc while they were at war. In 1955
many American troops were sent over to Vietnam to help stop the communist spread. The U.S felt
obligated to go to war with Vietnam because they were scared of the domino effect. During the war
America lost a lot of things both financially and manpower wise. This took a toll on many American
troops and their families. Money during this time was very limited due to all the controversy. The
guerilla warfare tactic the Vietnamese used against the America s caused them to go about the war
differently. They spent so much money trying to keep up with the advance weapons and chemicals
they used against them and the lose of troops. The America s paid ... Show more content on

Troops were very important because if they didn t have them they would be able to win the war.
Hundreds of thousands were killed during this time. The U.S got as many troops as they possibly
could to ship to Vietnam to stop all the nonsense. The U.S started a draft for this to happen and many
Americans did not understand why the president started this. It was all because of the scar of the
domino effect. During the time of the war the Vietnam came about war a different way than the
Americans. The Americans used the same strategy they used in WW2 which seemed to be very
successful for us and the Vietnamese used an all out, no grudge strategy known as guerilla warfare.
This strategy had no petty on mankind. A group of people sprayed trees, houses, grass and etc with a
chemical called herbicides. They sprayed over 19 million gallons of it across about 4.5 million acres
of land. This chemical lead to severe issues like irritation of the skin, psychological issues, birth
defects and etc. In 1979 there was a lawsuit on the behalf of 2.4 million who were exposed to this
chemical. The Agent Orange was the group name for these people. About 2 million people suffered
from cancer because of these terrible chemical. This strategy killed/injured a great amount of the U.S
troops and it was too dangerous for us to

The Labor Relations Act Of The Senate
Introduction Today s economic climate has lost and shed more jobs than ever. Organizations need
unions to survive and a process to keep them. Under the present conditions, unions need to embrace
revolutionary change. They need to experiment with innovative models and build on existing ones that
have already proven their value that works for workers, business, and overall society. Today s
Economic Climate with organizations that unions no longer survive in In the fall of 1934 Senator
Wagner introduced the National Labor Relations Act in the senate. On July 5, 1935, President Franklin
Roosevelt signed the National Labor Relations Act. This act was put into place to help unions survive,
under the section 7, it gave employees the right to form and join unions and it obligated employers to
bargain collectively with unions in a selective manner. Although, the future of organized labor in the
economy today looks grim, the unions will have to do whatever it takes to help keep contribute to a
healthy economy. They will have to do use whatever form it takes to help with the decline in private
unions as well. In the past decades, unions have stood to fall by the wayside, due to the contributing
factor of the National Labor Relations Act (NLRA). They do not adapt to external factors, such as
competition and productivity in the global economy. These factors are a problem for unionism by
themselves. The current state of the NLRA has magnified their effect.

He was born on June 15, 1902 in Frankfurt, Germany. His unnamed Danish biological father abandoned Erik s mother before he was born. Erik was raised by his mother, Karla Abrahamsen, for the first three years and she married Dr. Theodor Homberger in 1905. His mother and stepfather raised him and Erik took his stepfather s name, Erik Abrahamsen. Erik had blond hair, blue eyes, and Nordic looks. Stage three, initiative vs. guilt, is for preschoolers. If they are given freedom to imagine, be responsible, take decisions, to plan, then tendency toward initiative will be encouraged. However, if children are always restricted and not shown any appreciation for their ideas or decisions, they will feel guilty about acting on their own. The fourth stage, industry vs. inferiority, is for students of elementary and middle school. Children are encouraged to do things well and finish tasks. They are praised for their achievements and they develop self confidence and industry. But, children who fail to achieve or who are constantly criticized will be left with the feeling of inferiority. Identity vs. role confusion is the fifth stage faced by adolescence, from 12 18 years. In this stage, adolescents seek their true selves and identity through exploration of different behaviors, values, and beliefs. If adolescent succeeds, identity develops and if they don t, it results into role confusion. When an adolescent is challenged by role confusion, Erikson said, that adolescent is suffering from an identity crisis. Understanding sense of self is important in this stage of the theory in order to find success in next stages. If an adolescent gets stuck at this stage, he or she will be unable to ... • 6. The Cause Of The Stono Rebellion, South Carolina On Sunday, September 9th, 1739 the British colony of South Carolina was shaken by a slave uprising that culminated with the death of sixty people (The Stono Rebellion 1739). It was one of the first organized slave revolts in history (Stono Rebellion 1739). As a result, the Stono Rebellion started to change viewpoints on slavery. Slave revolts started to become a problem for plantation owners. Due to this conflict over slave revolts, specifically the Stono Rebellion, South Carolina compromised by passing the Negro Act of 1740 and other laws regarding slavery. At the time of the Stono Rebellion, Spanish Florida, a separate entity from the British colonies until 1763, became known as a safe haven for fugitive slaves (Stono Rebellion 1739). Seeking to cause turmoil in British colonies, Spain passed a law stating that any escaped slave that reaches Spanish territory (which is now Florida) would be freed. In response to this new law, a group of slaves led by a Angolan slave named Jemmy, met on September 9, 1739 near the Stono river to plan an escape to Spanish Florida (The Stono Rebellion Timeline). They planned to revolt on a Sunday when they had the most freedom from their daily routine. In preparation for their escape, it was realized that many of the slaves involved in the Stono Rebellion were from Congo (Stono Rebellion 1739). At the time, Congo was at war with itself making its people susceptible to being captured and sent into slavery (Stono Rebellion 1739). With this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

William Shakespeare once said, The course of true love never did run smooth. This quote reflects the story of the Knights Arcite and Palamon. During their imprisonment, they fall in love with Emelye, which sends them into a frenzy of love and suffering. Arcite and Palamon show that love is synonymous to suffering through imprisonment, banishment, and battle. First, Arcite and Palamon s imprisonment compares the power of love to suffering. The tower where the King Theseus imprisons the Knights is close to the garden wall where Emelye spends her days. There would be no conflict involving love if the tower was in another location or if Emelye spent her time elsewhere. The Knights know ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Palamon and Arcite s circumstance is is a common occurrence for the time period and not unique to the story. Next, Arcite s banishment reflects the similarities of love and suffering. King Theseus grants Arcite his freedom, but Arcite faces banishment from Theseus kingdom from then on. For Arcite, banishment is a fate worse than imprisonment. Arcite exclaims he was doomed eternally to dwell no more in Purgatory, but in Hell. Arcite s banishment devastates him because it means he will never see the love of his life Emelye again. For the sake of productivity, we must understand the conditions that lead to Sadie s withdrawal from the position to avoid repeated mistakes in future expatriates assignments. This policy resulted in a vulnerable group being removed from their homes and placed into an environment plagued with physical, sexual, emotional, and spiritual abuse. Isolation from all aspects of one s culture was degrading, isolating, and discouraging. The implementation of residential schools can be considered an action taken with societies best interests in mind. The policy initially appeared to be free from de jure discrimination since the purpose was to empower the aboriginal population and give them the tools they needed to succeed in a modern society. The abuse suffered by the students did not appear to be an intentional result of the assimilation policy adopted by the government. Policy makers had a desire to create a generation of aboriginals accustomed to the ways of civilized life (Llewellyn, 2002, p. 257). • 17. People s Views On Witches People s views on witches have transformed from the pre modern period to today. During the pre modern time, many people believed the Devil carried out evil deeds through witches, but the witches were to blame for all of the misfortunes caused (Kramer and Sprenger 2). The modern era, though, rejects that belief. Today, it is rumored that witches are no longer associated with the Devil, and a witch is anyone at all who performs magic (Bolds 1). The definition of a witch as a whole has transformed completely due to the diversity in opinions. Initially, it appears a witch can be defined as a person who performs magic by conforming to these simple guidelines; however, I argue that a witch is much more complex than that because magic can be used for good or evil in witchcraft. Witchcraft does not directly correspond to religion; however, religions may have certain beliefs about witchcraft. In their pre modern treatise Malleus Maleficarum, Heinrich Kramer and James Sprenger state that witchcraft is futile without the Devil, a witch, and the permission of God (Kramer and Sprenger 12). In the modern text RELIGIOUS: Witches, not what you d expect, Meagan Bolds argues that a person can practice any religion or no religion and still be referred to as a witch. The only condition for Bolds is that the person holds the ability to perform magic of some sort (Bolds 1). Therefore, magic no longer stands as a burden to society. Instead, Bolds thinks of magic as a right (Bolds 1). This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

As a part of the sports medicine team it is crucial to be able to treat these injuries effectively and ultimately have the athlete returning to play as soon as possible. Injuries to the lower extremities are the most common in soccer. These injuries may be traumatic, such as a kick to the leg or a twist to the knee, or result from overuse of a muscle, tendon, or bone (1). This information will be helpful when assessing an injury. The three steps of injury assessment are, determine the type and extent of the injury, locate signs and symptoms, and finally compare bilaterally to notice any deformities (2). Our injury assessment is aided by the popular acronym H.O.P.S. Which stands for history, observation, palpation, and special tests. History is crucial for diagnosing an injury and would usually be found out by asking questions such as, what happened? , Has it happened before? . Asking this can locate any repetitive motions or actions that have been causing this injury. Observation is looking for signs, which are observable deformities such as a rash, swelling, or dislocation. Next is palpation, which is touching to look for pain or unusual textures on the skin. Theme Of Literary Realism In A Dill Pickle The world contains myriads of different people, therefore, it is not unlikely that some feel the need to identify themselves with fictional characters. Fabricating characters can be perceived as the most intricate part of writing because many consider characters to be the heart of pieces of literature. Authors establish protagonists and antagonists in their works which gives them the ability to sway the readers in the direction of who to root for. Many subconsciously discover themselves in fictional characters, this allows them to enjoy their seemingly realistic read further. This is the use of literary realism the authentic representation of literature realistically. Connecting with a character makes one further immersed in their reading as they hope to understand more about not only the reader but themselves. Relatable characters can be vital in literature as it makes the reader feel that their novel or short story could actually take place. In Katherine Mansfield s short story, A Dill Pickle , a run in at a cafe between two old lovers is filled with vacillation. Readers can feel themselves identify with the protagonist, Vera, as she endures a well known uncomfortable situation. During the realization of lost love, with the aid of literary realism, Mansfield depicts Vera as a relatable character to readers through her personal thoughts, flashbacks, and her loneliness. Literary realism is the incorporation of verisimilitude in literature. The utilization of using realistic situations, people, and settings captivates readers as they can imagine or relate to the story and or the characters. In addition, realism, which emphasizes the importance of the ordinary, the ordinary person and the ordinary situation, tends to reject the heroic and the aristocratic and embrace the pedestrian, the comic, and the middle class (Landow). Rather than writing novels with predictable and happy endings as well as fantasies, works realism include subject matter that most can apply to everyday life. After a six year hiatus between Vera and her unnamed past lover, a chance encounter takes place causing pushed away feelings to be brought back to surface. Though Vera speaks scarcely, readers understand her through her inner ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 26. Examples Of Substance Abuse Substance abuse is something that many people struggle with. It is something that nobody assumes could happen to him or her, but once that person becomes addicted, there is nothing stopping him or her. I personally have a friend who has suffered from addiction for 3 years, the story hits home because I have seen what being a drug addict can do to one s emotional wellbeing, their physical appearance, and the toll it can take on their family. Drugs, whether done in moderation or excess, have the potential to overpower a person s normal judgment, causing them to act in ways that normally would not be done. My friend since elementary school never quite found his niche. He was always getting into trouble and overall trying to take the easy way out of life. But once he entered high school, he began to take serious risks. For example, one Friday before going to the local carnival, a few friends drank beers and he was there as well. Because of his actions, he had to drop out of school for over a year to handle this addiction. Since addiction ran in his family, his parents were very willing to accommodate and help him out. His father, although very successful, used to be addicted to cocaine, so obviously there is underlying genetic factors at play. Many speculated that perhaps if his parents were stricter on him the results would have been different. We were going to be the first ones down the huge water slide. We had been waiting all night and day to go down this exciting ride. There needs to be four people to go down this water slide but there are just the two of us so we will just need to try and get a lot of speed up at the start and hope that we can get to the end of the water slide. We want to be the first ones down it but we look to our right and there are hundreds of people waiting to go down it. We need to think of a plan to get around the huge line of people. There s a lifeguard blocking the only way to get up to the water slide so we will have to be careful there so they won t catch us sneaking past the line. We will have to distract the lifeguard. Darcy you will need to tell the lifeguard that someone is stealing his car. Then we can crab a raft and run up the stairs to the top of the water slide. We can quickly jump onto the raft and go down the water slide. When we get to the end of the waterslide we will run to the busiest pool and jump into the busiest pool so that the lifeguards can t spot us. Ok that s the plan now we have to do that, Darcy muttered. Ok the water slide jets turn on in five minutes so we have five minutes to find a hiding spot. By John Foley, US Army, Lieutenant Colonel (Retired) Russia is engaging the United States in an information war designed to fracture the US along ethnic and racial lines. They are targeting the ultra conservative population of the United States with a covert information campaign. The goal is to influence and persuade ultra conservatives that the US Government is illegitimate and needs to oppose it by force of arms. This article lays out Russia s information war influencing the ultra conservative population. The recent Russian hacking of the Democratic National Committee s computers servers has highlighted Russia s nefarious information war against the US. In recent years Russia developed a highly capable method of waging information warfare and they are now aggressively targeting the US. The Russian strategy has focused on digitally infiltrating and influencing through social media the conservative movement in the United States in order to make it hostile to its own government. Russia s information war may appear a nuisance to our national defense, but I argue this is an existential threat facing the US far greater than ISIS, ballistic missiles, or even the regular Russian Armed Forces. These are still threats, but not to the degree of Russia s information war. This information war is aimed directly at American society and is designed to destroy our society. John Locke s Theory On Modern Science John Locke s theories on how knowledge is gained through the senses and how there are different kinds of experiences and ideas adds to, and justifies, the movement of modern science. Modern science is all about observing the natural world in order to understand and gain knowledge about what is going around us. I agree that humans do gain knowledge and form different kinds of ideas through our senses and different experiences. The reoccurring theme with John Locke s theory on modern science is the idea of the senses and how knowledge is made through sense data. Empiricism is the notion that all knowledge comes from sense experience. We, as conscious individuals, do not know anything until we experience it with our own senses, which then our senses shape our mind on how we view and understand a certain object as well as his concept of simple and complex ideas Lock, and many other empiricists, believes in Tabula rasa, which states there are no such thing as innate ideas, and that we are all blank slates. We are only able to fill this blank slate through experiences with our senses. Without experiencing something, we know have knowledge, which makes sense. Back in the cave man days, our ancestors did not have science or history books to know that fire keeps you warm when it is cold outside. They had to pretty much figure it out on their own. The U.S. National Library of Medicine defines health disparities as the variation in rates of disease occurrence and disabilities between socioeconomic and /or geographically defined population groups . When looking at the Native American population of the northeastern United States, there are many factors that contribute to these alarming numbers. These include gun availability, rural locations of communities and reservations, privacy of Native people, distrust of outside help, alcoholism, depression, lack of resources, and acculturation stress. Many of these factors are a way of life for the Native American population. Guns are in most homes and used for hunting and sport. The rural locations are a way of being surrounded by all that is living and therefore, well being of the people. The viewer is presented with a constructed reality of drawings and paintings, which may represent the real world, but unlike photographic film, does not look like it. The challenge therefore is to create characters that may believably inhabit their particular diegetic reality. Animators have strived to find a way to resolve this issue through their character design and an awareness of how to deliver narrative information through their characters. This essay will illustrate the solutions that animators have found to make their audiences believe what is put in front of them. In 1914 Winsor McCay took up the (self imposed) challenge of making dinosaurs live again via animation. The result was Gertie the Dinosaur a semi live act with McCay performing onstage with the ... • 37. The Main Reasons For Government And Privatize Their Airports Week 1: Identify and discuss the main reasons for a government to privatize their airports. In basic terms Privatisation is essentially the shift of assets from the public or government owned sector to the private sector, an important point to note is that privatisation doesn t always refer to ownership, but can also refer only to the management of an organisation. The advantages of privatisation include greater efficiency and fewer limitations involved in government spending allowances. Up until the 1990 s privatisation of airports was mainly within the general aviation, municipal type airfields. Airports were gradually considered as commercial enterprises , and as such commercialisation began to take place. Supporters of privatisation argue that it will reduce the need for public investment and give greater access to commercial markets. By doing this they are limiting government control, which may be a benefit in itself as there will be more space for diversification. With a wide share of ownership there can be far greater input from a range of sources. In a sense the government will still benefit from privatisation, as even though they may have less control overall, they will still benefit from the global market and from government associated taxes and levies not just on the airports movements but also taxing of the airport company itself. Conversely on the side of doubt, there is concern that privatisation may create a monopoly that could potentially be over ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They are imagined because members will never meet all other members face to face. The Morgan piece on speech communities begins by describing a music video, which itself begins with two rappers speaking on the phone in different languages in different countries. After a conversation, the two meet up in person and begin the song. Morgan describes this as a speech community formed around a shared style of music, with members of the community belonging to various demographics. This would fit Anderson s model of imagined communities as the community is formed around a shared consumption of a form of media with members who will never interact with most other members. Anderson s model is primarily criticized for two reasons: it is too vertical and it ignores hierarchy within communities. 2. Today s Economic Climate with organizations that unions no longer survive in In the fall of 1934 Senator Wagner introduced the National Labor Relations Act in the senate. On July 5, 1935, President Franklin Roosevelt signed the National Labor Relations Act. This act was put into place to help unions survive, under the section 7, it gave employees the right to form and join unions and it obligated employers to bargain collectively with unions in a selective manner.
