My New Ideas During The Renaissance
During the Renaissance, my new ideas became popular and more people wanted to make their
society better. In order for all this to happen, people needed to spread the word about the new ideas.
Three factors that contributed to spreading the word of the Renaissance are trade, books and
printing, and the governments at the time. However, some factors helped contribute more, or they
had a greater impact on the people. The most powerful factor was books and printing, and the least
helpful factor was the government s. Books and printing were among the most influential of all the
factors. When Johann Gutenberg invented the movable printing press, printing became much easier
and faster than ever before. When people started using the printing

Garrett Hardin s The Tragedy Of The Commons
In reading Garrett Hardin s The Tragedy of the Commons, and through my participation in the
Kivulini Simulation lab completed in class, my knowledge and understanding of the psychological
factors that contribute to the logic behind the decisions made by humans that negatively impact the
planet we inhabit have significantly expanded. Many of these decisions are made out of ignorance,
while others are made despite knowledge of the harm that results from them. There are some ways
that I can apply this knowledge to my life in order to contribute to the effort to preserve this planet
in the hopes of allowing it to sustain future generations.

They will not complete a task unless they see something in it for them. Even when engaging in
charity or volunteering activities, people are ultimately doing so in order to gain the feeling of
satisfaction that they experience for having helped others. I can use this knowledge in more
effectively persuading people to be conservative in their use of the resources available within the
commons by explaining the benefits of doing so in terms of their own gains. For example, if the
company of a theatrical production is striking a set, rather than trying to convince the director to
recycle the materials from the set by saying something along the lines of it would be unethical for
you to do otherwise, I can say if you reuse the materials, you can cut nearly 25% off your set

The Importance Of Security In War
The Jaish al Mahdi understood and exploited U.S. public opinion. This incident demonstrated that
adversaries can achieve success by conducting influence operations. China identifies cyberspace as
a key domain to project power and dominance. Chinese military strategists believe that information
operations are directly linked to success or defeat in war and priority should be given to launching
preemptive attacks. In 2005, China infiltrated numerous secure government systems and
successfully retrieved more than ten terabytes of data. The following year, China attacked a total of
forty nine U.S. companies and government agencies. A number of those companies were involved
in the production of the F 35 and other classified military weapons.... Show more content on

The principles within the strategy can be linked to information as an instrument of national power.
However, existing U.S. strategies have three shortfalls: 1) scope (addressing all dimensions in the
information environment), 2) deterrence (defining acts of war), and 3) whole of nation approach.
The first shortfall is that the scope must be broader. U.S. strategies sufficiently address threats to the
physical and informational dimensions within the information environment. However, the U.S.
lacks a strategy that identifies challenges and threats in the cognitive dimension within the
information environment. Adversaries, such as ISIS, are effectively utilizing influence campaigns
to advance their agenda by manipulation of the values, perceptions, and beliefs of the U.S. public
and other target audiences. Information, or misinformation, is a primary means to shape global
opinions. The U.S. continues to yield the initiative in influence operations and function in a
reactionary capacity. Strategic communication messaging to enhance U.S. credibility and
legitimacy have been slow and at times ineffective. The behavior data generated through social
media has enabled researchers to understand groups, globally making it easier to spread and

Boston Food Truck Essay
DISCUSSION
Regulation and Permits
To operate food trucks in the City of Boston, vendors need to apply and pay for a Mobile Food
Truck Permit. The permit is issued by the Department of Public Works and it is valid for one year.
The cost for the permit is $500.
Health Regulation
Boston city government recommends food truck vendors to bring their operation plans to a Health
Inspector BEFORE they start to build their food trucks.
Food truck vendors should bring the following documents for the health inspector to review:
1.Equipment Specification and Plans.
2.A completed Health Permit Application Form (it must contain information about the cooking
process).
3.Menu sample.
Upon successful inspection of the documents, food truck vendors must pay a cost of $100 for one
year health permit. After food truck vendors have built their truck, they are needed to be inspected
once more. Food trucks must be inspected at 1010 Massachusetts Avenue, from Monday to Friday
at 8:00 am to 9:30 am. Make sure to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to recognize that there are no one size fits all prescription for how best to
incorporate food trucks into the fabric of a community. Many characteristics contribute to the
complexity and vibrancy of a city, including political climate, state laws, demographics, and the
existing restaurant industry. With this in mind, the recommendations included here are intended to
be flexible enough to accommodate different circumstances, but logical enough to provide useful
guidance. They can serve as a road map that will help cities establish a regulatory framework best
suited to their unique circumstances and that takes into account the whole spectrum of stakeholder
needs and concerns. Over and above, the truck food business is the way to go, if you don t want
to bother yourself with the cost of securing a location to build a restaurant, as well as if you want

Enterprise Resource Planning Is The Fruit Of The Hard Work
Introduction
Some years ago, there had been a situation in the market that every Business Company or

Cendrillon Analysis
Cendrillon is an opera comique in three tableaux by Pauline Verdi. This Operetta is composed by
seven voices and piano. The classic story of Cinderella is the plot basis of this work. However, in
this opera Pauline verdi interpret the traditional Cinderella story with some differences from the
master copy fairy tale. The evil stepmother is replaced by an unfriendly stepfather who did illegal
things earlier in his life, and through this he established a friendship with Barigoule. Another
difference from the recognizable Cinderellastory is that Le Prince (The Prince) initially arrives at
Cendrillon s home camouflaged as a bum, where he witnesses her generosity as she gives him
bread and tea, while her step sisters weren t generous to him. At the point when Cendrillon arrives
at the ball, Le Prince is disguised as Barigoule, so when they become hopelessly enamored he
realizes that she isn t infatuated with him due to his crown. Furthermore, because Le Prince meets
Cendrillon before the ball in this opera, it seems that he falls in love with her kindness personality,
and not just due to her gorgeous appearance at the ball later in the story. At the end Cendrillon
forgives her family for all of the pain they have caused her and they sing a happy song together in
the finale of the piece.
The cast of characters includes three sopranos, a mezzo soprano, two tenors and a baritone. It seems
very important to point out that Cendrillon by Viardot is a chamber operetta originally

Compairson Between the Inca Government and American...
The ancient Inca government and the government of the United States of America have some
things in common; while at the same time both very different. The powers possessed by the Inca
monarch are similar to those of the U.S. government. However, Inca punishments for criminals are
very different from American punishments for criminals. The Inca governmenthad a very strong
structure, which enabled it to last for hundreds of years. One major distinction between the two
governments though, is that the Inca government was invaded about two hundred years before the
U.S. government was founded.

This was all made possible by strong centralized control over sources of raw material and labor,
through the office of the vizier.
In order to more efficiently run the nation, some responsibilities had to be decentralized, placing
authority in the hands of local nobles and governors. Some were too tempted by the thought of
holding power, and began to break away from the royal government at Memphis up in the Delta.
Others, like Qar, who served in the 6th Dynasty under King Merenra, recalled that he sailed
upstream to the nome of Edfu as sole companion, nomarch, overseer of Upper Egyptian barley
and overseer of prophets, because I was capable and appreciated in the esteem of his Majesty. I
came to be accorded the office of lord of every leader of all Upper EgyptВ…I gave bread to the
hungry and clothing to the one who went naked in this nomeВ…It was I who buried every name
in this nome who had no heir, with linen drawn from my own property. Qar was later deified and a
cult for him grew.
After the First Intermediate Period, authority was not given to important regional families, but
capable members of the middle class were appointed to offices, creating a devoted class of civil
servants. The capital was also moved away from the Delta, to Lisht, in Middle Egypt.
The autobiographical text of Vizier Ankhu of the 13th Dynasty refers to other family members who
served as vizier, and indicates that the office was passed from father to son.

Lewis and Clark Expedition
James Jang William and Meriwether, better known as Lewis and Clark, were hired by the U.S.
president Thomas Jefferson to explore the newly bought Louisiana Purchase. The Louisiana
Purchase was bought from France in 1803. Lewis and Clark started their expedition in 1804
near St. Louis. The group of explorers called themselves the corps of discovery. In the first
winter they were helped by a Shoshone Indian named Sacagawea. Their journey was full of
trouble and challenges but in the end led to a great discovery that changed the lives and beliefs
of people everywhere. Their expedition stretched from camp wood to fort Clatsop. Lewis and
Clark knew each other from the war where Clark was under William Lewis s command later then
Thomas Jefferson recruited Clark to lead this exploration and then he went to William Lewis to
ask him to come along with him. Their expedition was full of confusing water ways that could
potentially ruin their exploration for the most convenient route through the Louisiana Purchase.
One problem was that America claimed parts of land that were occupied by the Native
Americans; this was a problem because this caused many disputes between Americans and the
Natives that lived there. This expedition was not to find trade roots or to search for science but
was to discover the Louisiana Purchase. In May of 1804 the expedition started off in camp Dubois

James Bond Stereotypes
Dr. No (1962) and Rising Sun (1994) are heavy loaded with stereotypes. 32 years apart and for
sure appearance of Sean Connery has changed and stereotypes seem less striking but very present
in Rising Sun specially towards oriental people, women and Blacks. Fifty years ago, the release of
Dr. No, the famous fiction British master spy James Bondfilmstarring Sean Connery, launched one
of the longest running and most successful franchises in movie history. World needed a hero of
the cold war era and in real danger of nuclear war there was nothing to worry about so long as
Agent 007 was on the case. Bond was given a license to kill and to stereotype. As I watched first

The Pros And Cons Of Social Movement
The discontentment of people against certain policies of government no doubt may lead to all
forms of grievances, which may be expressed or unexpressed. Where it is expressed, it takes the
forms of protest such as strikes and demonstrations; which are either organized or unorganized.
Unorganized behaviors are mostly spontaneous which usually end without any structure that could
ensure an enduring relationship. Social movementon the other hand refers to an organized group
of people with the major goal of bringing about a purposive change in the society. The major
targets are the societal and/ or governmental policies, which are considered repugnant and
detrimental to the generality of the people or a cross section of the society.

They also seek changes in a particular area that is of interest to them. The reformative social
movements are out to advocate for reforms that would benefit the whole society. At times they
could also seek the maintenance of the existing pattern where is it envisaged that a change maybe
inimical to their growth and development. They are therefore seen as progressive as they do not
seek a total disruption of the system but operate within the existing system.
The alternative social movement identified by Aberle (1966:42) poses no serious threat as it only
narrow itself to a small part of the population. The changes they social seek are very limited. This
social movement concerns itself primarily with specific individuals such as those within sexually
active population age bracket. For example, they seek a change in their sexual behavior especially
as it relates to birth control. Resistance movements= bear close semblance to the counter
movements as it concern itself with building resistance to certain social, cultural and economic

Burton A. (1997). The Future of Nonprofit Sector: Its Entwining with Private Enterprise and

extensively published economist, examines the future of the ever growing nonprofit sector and its

Weisbrod explores the second question through a comparative examination of the economic
competition and cooperation between the three sectors. In his results, he deduces that nonprofits
have thrust themselves into new arenas, generating increased competition and growing political
attention. (Weisbrod, 1997) as well as a growing cooperation between the three sectors through
alliances and the commercialization of nonprofits. The evaluation of the third question focuses on
the efficiency and quality of the nursing home services provided by nonprofits compared to private
institutions as well as volunteering. Weisbrod utilizes statistics to measure labor inputs, consumer
satisfaction, opportunities for volunteers, and compensation for top executives (Weisbrod, 1997).
Overall, he discovered that nonprofit organizations are socially valuable not only because of the
kinds of outputs they produce but also because of the ways they distribute their services. (Weisbrod,

Symbolism In William Golding s The Lord Of The Flies
Authors have a sneaky way of revealing the greater themes that they are writing about in their
books. They reveal themes by using symbols to represent both the actual person or object and
also a deeper, hidden meaning. Placed through the story, symbols can be discovered if the reader
takes a close thoughtful look. In William Goldings, The Lord of the Flies, a group of school boys
are involved in a plane crash that leaves them stranded on a deserted island. The boys slowly begin
to lose their civilized nature and start turning into primitive savages. Golding uses symbols
throughout his story to demonstrate their crumbling society. The three most important symbols in
the novel are the conch shell, The Lord of the Flies and the face paint or masks.
The conch shell symbolizes the law and order of the boys old world, the adult world in which
the boys are used to following rules in. When Roger destroys the conch, chaos quickly takes over
because there is no leader or way to call a meeting anymore. Ralph and Piggy find the conch shell
on the beach at the beginning of the book and use it to call the boys to a meeting after the plane
crashes. The conch shell becomes a symbol of power, civilization and order in the book. The conch
shell represent power because Ralph was elected chief partially because he found it and was
holding the shell when the group was deciding on a leader. The shell helps the boys keep order in
their meetings, because only the boy who is holding on to

The Pros And Cons Of Evolutionism
Evolution is, a theory that the differences between modern plants and animals are because of
changes that happened by a natural process over a very long time. When studying evolution many
arguments tend to be something along the lines of fossil records. Evolutionists believe that there
are some missing links, but thats only because those fossils have not been found. Evolutionists
argue that by observing the fossils they have found it was clear that they fall in line with the
evolutiontheory. Evolutionist also claim to have a plethora of DNA evidence. To add onto their
finding they have also been able to observe evolution through bacteria. They have seen how
bacteria has changed and become stronger in order to survive. Evolutionist believe this theory to be
true, because all the evidence points towards evolution.

Most people are so one sided, especially evolutionist, that everything they say and find is true.
However, many creationist believe that God created the heavens and the earth, but there may have
been some science along the way. Evolutionists have many gaps unaccounted for and they say it s
because they just haven t found fossils or DNA for that gap yet. However, creationist believe that
the reason they have yet to find those missing puzzle pieces is because what they are looking for
does not exist. They believe that those missing puzzle pieces are God s doing. Although these
theories are completely different from one another they both have beneficial factors and negative
factors.
In evolution many things can be explained. Evolution is like a puzzle, and as you start putting the
pieces together it just makes since. There is no faith that evolutionists have to rely on or

Improving The Quality Of Healthcare Services
Introduction
In the United States the healthcare system is influenced by the cost and the quality of services
delivered to its citizens. The cost in healthcare refers to the services rendered, production or actual
money spent on services provided. Quality in healthcare is defined as measurable standard for
services provided. In healthcare, both the cost and quality are dependent on each other and the
initiatives can be regulated by a public or private agency.

measures are able to maintain the high standards without raising the costs of healthcare services.
Healthcare Initiatives
The Department of Health and Human Services has six quality strategy goals:

war to impact the world. Russia, Germany, Austria Hungary, and Serbia could all be considered
factors that helped rise World War One. Before the war, countries faced many internal and external
conflicts, leading to rising tensions and concern across Europe, and later the world. Out of the

This idea, known as social Darwinism, in Austria Hungary perhaps further strengthened the want by
various ethnic groups to leave Austria Hungary. Additionally, a group which the Austro Hungarians
controlled were the Serbs, who were placed under their control after the Bosnian crisis of 1908. In
the Bosnian crisis, Austria Hungary annexed Bosnia and Herzegovina, against the approval of
Serbia( Bosnian crisis of 1908 ). Because Austria Hungary didn t have the approval of the
Serbians, the connection between Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina was broken. Serbia was
connected to Bosnia and Herzegovina because the countries had ethnic and geographic similarities.
It seems likely that these connections limited the conflicts between Serbia and Bosnia, lowering
the tension in the Balkan region. However, the annexation by Austria Hungary created a barrier
between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Serbia because the Serbians already had previous hatred for
Austria Hungary. This separation angered Serbia to an extent where Serbia demanded a portion of
the annexed land be given to them. Austria declined, and soon after threatened to invade Serbia if
they continued with their demands. The threats by Austria Hungary suggest that they had no fear of
creating conflict with Serbia, and would rather anger Serbia than help them. In addition, the
provinces of Bosnia and Herzegovina had previously proved economically prosperous for

Analysis Of Mourning Dove s Under The Whispering Pines
For many decades and centuries, the cultural clashes between the first nation people and the Euro
Canadians have always caused tension to up rise. This goes way back to the late 15th century
when the first European (the English) settlers arrived in eastern Canada claiming the land,
followed by the French. As years went by, more European settlers arrived and this caused more
natives to become marginalized physically (through killings), politically and economically.
Mourning Dove s under the whispering pines conveys some of the negative perspectives, such as
viewing the natives as savages or subhuman. These perspectives are still very common today and
still continue to marginalise native Canadians economically especially native women, as Sky...

globe journey dating from December of 1907 to February 1909. The fleet was four squadrons of
warships; or 16 battleships and their supporting auxiliary ships, which were painted white for no
other reason than the visual appeal and to hide mechanical errors contained in the engine rooms.
All were manned by 14,000 sailors and marines and traveled 43,000 miles. The fleet made
twenty port calls on six different continents. The hopes for the effect this battle fleet would cause
were mostly about America s image. Roosevelt s plan was to use this fleet to show the world
how powerful we had become, as well as demonstrate our navy capability. It was impressive to
many, displayed great influence and showcased great naval power from our country. Roosevelt
used this tactic in order to intimidate Japan by showing them the fleet could sail from the Atlantic
to the Pacific ocean, prompting the fleet to sail across the world. Colonel Charles Young was an
African American who was the first... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

U.s. Foreign Exchange Market
If you ever traveled to a foreign country preferably outside the tourist traps and spent money, you
probably had to exchange your domestic money for local currency. Regardless of where you made
such a trade, such as at a currency exchange kiosk when you landed at the airport, the fact that you
successfully transacted two, completely distinct currencies related by an exchange ratemeans that
you were, for the briefest of moments, a participant in the nearly $4 trillion a day foreign
exchange market, or forex. But it is unlikely that such a gargantuan turnover is the appreciable
result of money changing by spendthrift globetrotters. Rather, in today s globalized economy,
any institution, from a small export business to a central bank, is liable to have a hand in the
currency and therefore the purchasing power of a foreign country. While the foreign exchange
market may seem like a complicated world of arcane finance, it is not only possible for you to
actively participate in it, but there is a highly developed infrastructure of individual or retail forex
trading ready for your attempts to turn a profit from besting the ever changing exchange rate
between currencies. While a professional comprehension of forex trading entails far more practical
and conceptual knowledge than this process paper can capture, good preparation and a methodical
understanding of the fundamentals of forex practices can help you develop the basic skills to get
started in retail forex trading.

Pros And Cons Of Standardized Testing
My personal interest in this controversial topic
Since Middle School, I was not opposed to standardized testing. I thought of it as a way of
testing us of what we have learned. Although, after reading some articles about standardized
testing I am re thinking the pros and cons. From personal experience, I thought of it as a
challenge to pass them. But now that reminisce about it, I noticed some of the cons of
standardized testing. I remember having a week or two dedicated for testing, and in case of
students failing they had to take time to redo it. It would take a while for all the students to finish
their tests. And after remembering how it was back in those times I was more on the opposed side.
The act signed in 2002, NCLB, caused for a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Parents oppose the standardized tests because they can cause stress and anxiety to their children.
Students disagree with many tests because it can cost them admission to a university, or passing to
the next grade. Teachers oppose the tests because it takes too much time. They have to teach their
students what is going to be on the test. Also, the schools and teachers lose funding depending on
the results.
What warrants (assumptions) will you imply or state? Why?
First, I will state that standardized testing is not helping education in the United States. This will be
stated first because it will clarify my topic.
Secondly, I will imply that there are other ways education in the United States could improve
without the use of standardized testing.
Can you maintain an open mind and reverse your views if you come across information you hadn t
anticipated?
If I find, research about why standardized testing has helped improve the education in the United
States; and, if there is information on how it has helped students progress over time. I would be
open to information that could counter my claims.
What qualifiers will you include in your claim to make it more reasonable and manageable?
One qualifier I will use is standardized testing improving the US education? This will qualify the
US education. Also using qualifiers like there are many students that are opposed to standardized
testing. I will also be using some teachers and parents also oppose

Essay about Criminal Evidence
Evidence is the key element in determining the guilt or innocence of those accused of crimes
against society in a criminal court of law. Evidence can come in the form of weapons, documents,
pictures, tape recordings and DNA. According to the American Heritage College dictionary,
evidence is the documentary or oral statements and the material objects admissible as testimony in
a court of law (476). It is shown in court as an item of proof, to impeach or rehabilitate a witness,
and to determine a sentence. This paper will examine two murdercases, O.J. Simpsonand Daniel
Taylor.
Perhaps the most famous case in the 20th century was the O. J. Simpson double murder trial. On

The police investigations uncovered more evidences to link Simpson to the murders. Their
testimonies showed that Simpson had actually planned the crime. He had an alibi but it was
shaky. Simpson s history of spousal abuse gave the prosecutors was a blow to his case too. All the
evidences pointed unfavorably toward O. J. Simpson
Despite all this evidence, the jury found O.J. not guilty. The LAPD made some mistakes, which
allowed the defense to attack the creditability of the police. O.J. s defense, called quot; The Dream
Team, quot; took advantage of the prosecutions and the officers incompetence and created
reasonable doubt in the jurors minds (CNN). The officers duties included making sure that no
unauthorized people may enter the scene. They had allowed unauthorized officers the go through
the scene, thus causing some contamination to the crime scene. By all accounts, the prosecution
did a poor job presenting the evidence and the officers did not do a very good job at securing the
scene
On the other hand, the case of Daniel Taylor, who was convicted of murdering two people also,
had a solid Alibi with paperwork and witnesses to support his alibi it seemed almost impossible
for the jury to find him guilty. But on December morning in 1992, 17 year old gang member,
Daniel, confessed to a double murder committed two weeks earlier in the Uptown neighborhood.
(Chicago Tribune) . The case was built upon Taylor s confession.

On Narcissism, The Uncanny, And Beyond The Pleasure P
I will focus on three essays by Sigmund Freud: On Narcissism, The Uncanny, and Beyond the
Pleasure Principle. By examining these three essays, the influence of Freud s theories can be
determined. These essays will determine what Freud offers literary critics today and how they use
his theories in their work. Many of Freud s theories overlap; his theories of the unconscious are
explored in Beyond the Pleasure Principle and The Uncanny. In studying Freud s theories, and
applying them to literature and literary criticisms, the progression of psychologyand the
understanding of humanity will become clear. Psychological theory studies the human mind. In

Psychology has always had a deep impact on literature, so much that authors must use this theory to
delve into their characters motivations and actions. It is evident through the three Freud essays
discussed that topics and ideas seem to overlap. This is the nature of studying psychology; concepts
and ideas are connected to create a network that can be studied applied to not only the human mind,
but to the mind of an author or their fictional characters. In applying Sigmund Freud s ideas to
literature, critics can examine characters as if they were real. In our world, these characters are
not real. In the context of a work of fiction, for example, the characters are real. The confines of a
novel is the space in which they are alive. Examining characters as if they too have an unconscious
that compels them to unexplained actions allows critics, and readers of critics, to occupy that

Approximately 300,000 child soldiers are actively serving in military forces, terrorist organizations,

Ishmael Beah uses metaphors in A Long Way Gone to reinstate the overarching theme that

The Rebel United Front child soldiers were torturous to the old man before they killed him.
They were cold and showed no emotion, informing the reader that they had done this many,
many times before. This would never had happen previous to the war in Sierra Leone. This is
shown by the quote, Before the war a young man wouldn t have dared to talk to anyone older in
such a rude manner. We grew up in a culture that demanded good behaviour from everyone, and
especially from the young. Young people were required to respect their elders and everyone in

and because of the war, they are able to commit the worst crimes. Therefore, the young age of
these boys and their terrifying savagery shows how anyone is capable of evil. On other paths of
the village were the half burnt remains of those who had fought fiercely to free themselves, only
to die outside. They lay on the ground in different postures of pain, some reaching for their heads,
the white bones in their jaws visible, others curled up like a child in a womb, frozen (Beah 94 95).

As it was mentioned before, Carr has good points regarding the huge investment on IT in the

the second stage too. He wrote this article in 2003 and maybe he was not aware enough about what
the real value of IT is. Although there are many successful companies which invested a lot on their

Now, it is hard for any company to survive in the global market without advance IT systems. I
think we do not have a lot of opportunities in this world. If we have a chance, we have to exploit it
right away and do not wait for others to have it. He had a point when he said waiting will save
some money, but this money is considered as an investment and not loss. There are many reasons
why these giant companies are successful in their business.
Investing in new IT systems will
* Reduce costs
Giant companies such as Amazon uses its ITs systems as an effective way to reduce costs. The IT
enables Amazon to have a competitive advantage over other rivals and leave them behind. IT was
not only help Amazon to do what it did before, but it was also enable it to expand more in new
directions.
* Create and build barriers to entry
Once a company has an advancement in their IT systems, it will be harder for others companies to
compete in the same business. These new rivals have to invest heavily to reach the same level of
the company that invest in its IT systems before them. Also, these rivals will try to copy the
successful company while the successful company works on something more advance.
These two factors are the most important factors that enabled these companies to be dominant in
their business.

The recent surge in the cost of heating oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline in the United States has had
significant impact on many sectors of the U.S. economy, but most importantly it has had quite a
devastating affect on the trucking industry. This is important due to the fact that nearly 70% of
U.S. communities rely solely on trucking for their supplies ( ATA 23). If the government continues
it s trend of non intervention and refuses to place pressure on OPEC, the prices will continue to

trucks. Once the 11th best selling vehicle, it is now the 4th best seller; above the more fuel

The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and EIA (Energy Information Administration) both
play key roles in the types of fuel we can run in our cars and trucks and thus they indirectly play a
role in the overall price package that we consumers have to pay. When fuel arrives in the United
States about 95% of it is in its natural state; that is crude oil. It is then pumped or shipped to
refineries where certain qualities are achieved such as diesel fuel, kerosene, gasoline, and heating

fuels, which give them certain cleansing and lubricating properties. An important and very
controversial additive in diesel fuel is sulphur.
All grades of diesel fuel, No.1 (kerosene), No.2 on road fuel, and No.3 off road fuel, have sulphur
in them to keep the engines burning clean and to allow the fuel to burn properly (diesel fuel is
almost non flammable in it s virgin state without additives). Sulphur however is a dangerous

partaking in pleasures without consequences and not dealing with complex social issues that are

Isolation and Its Results in Poe s The Raven Essay
Isolation and Its Results in Poe s The Raven
The noticeable characteristic of the speaker in The Raven by Edgar Allen Poe is his stand
offishness. He cuts himself off from the outside world, not because the world itself is terrible but
because of his inward problems. This seclusion can bring ugly internal demons to the surface. The
complications resulting from isolation can include sadness, fear, despair, anger, insanity, self
torture, and feelings of entrapment. Each of these can be seen in The Raven, manifested in the
speaker of the poem. The opening stanza of The Raven introduces the reader to an isolated man in
his study on a dreary night reading old books and trying to stay awake. The silent solitude ... Show

Solitude has made the speaker so uneasy that he is even uncertain about the rustling of each
purple curtain (line 13). Anyone who has spent time alone in a house at night knows this
feeling. His heart pounds as the curtains move, and now that some unknown force is knocking
on the door he is even more terrified. He tries to calm himself down by repeating that it is only
some late visiter at his door and nothing more (lines 17 18). The speaker has to gather all his
courage just to investigate and greet his guest. When he greets nothing but a dark space beyond
the door, his mind races to conjure frightening dreams no mortal dared to dream before (line 26).
In his fright, he might have imagined it to have been a ghost, or someone with ill intent lurking
in the shadows and waiting to catch him in surprise. According to Edgar Poe in The Philosophy
of Composition, the character even possessed the half fancy that it was the spirit of his dead
mistress that knocked (1677). This is seen as the speaker calls out the name of his beloved Lenore
(lines 28 29). That is the only positive possibility considered, and others, such as a caring and
concerned friend, are not considered at all. His isolation and depression have left him with nothing
but negative feelings in every aspect. These feelings include paranoia the feeling that something or

Ban Zhao Lessons For Women
Although Ban Zhao was a woman, she was behind a sexist piece of literature meant for

Ban Zhao, was an unofficial imperial historian to Emperor Ho. She taught history, writings,
mathematics, and astronomy to Empress Teng and other women. She wrote this piece, Lessons
for Women , which was meant to instruct women how to behave and in many ways who to be.
She was even concerned about her own daughters in these sorts of ways. This impacts the
meaning of the piece in that it shows how deep the expected roles of people were drilled into the
heads of people across the world. Even a mother such as herself thought that these roles were
correct and ideal. It makes the modern interpretation even more shocking because you can see
that people who aren t viewed as equal don t even always realize it. She was writing for the

integrated the women and children rule when it came to boarding the lifeboats. Not everyone
could be saved that tragic night. Cunard s Carpathia heard Titanic s distress signal around
midnight and came to the rescue, but they could not get to Titanic s location quick enough. The
Titanic sank below the surface at about 2:20 AM on April 15, 1912. Along with the ship, about
1,500 passengers went into the ocean with her. There were not many survivors of those 1,500
people. Most of the dead were third class passengers or those who were staying below deck for
the entrie leg of the journey. All of the survivors in the lifeboats made it to the Carpathia after

Light Intensity On Chloroplast By Ryan Enrico Caruso
Ryan Enrico Caruso
Title: Light intensity on chloroplast, in Spinacia oleracea, in creating high energy electrons which
reduce DCPIP identifying how luminosity effects photosynthesis..
Abstract: Chloroplast were observed to question if high energy electrons are formed and how light
intensity affects for photosynthesis. DCPIP (2,6 dichorophenol indophenol) liberates high energy
electrons, from the electron transport chain, that reduce DCPIP from blue (oxidized form) to clear
(reduced form). In addition, chloroplasts were exposed to different levels of light intensity to
indicate how intensity levels are necessary for photosynthesis. Expecting DCPIP to get reduced
quicker in chloroplast exposed to higher luminosity levels and slower or not at all with lower
luminosity levels; DCPIP is expected to stay in its oxidized state when exposed to low levels of
light and is expected to get reduced and turn clear when exposed to higher levels of light.
Introduction: Plants are able to utilize a broad spectrum of light that can be used by chlorophyll
within them to do something biologically useful. Moreover, they use the energy from light to
manufacturer the foundation molecules for the food that we eat and as well the O2 we breathe. (2)
It is deeply imperative to gain an understanding about how light is used to produce energy for
themselves and for us.
How does the intensity of light chloroplast are exposed to effect their ability to photosynthesis in
producing high energy

Research Paper On Dr Heidegger s Experiment
The Elixir Dr. Heidegger s Experiment is a short story written by Nathaniel Hawthorne. In this
story Dr. Heidegger, who is known to tell a thousand stories (Hawthorne 1), gets four old and
perhaps depressed friends to drink elixir . These people start to feel young and rejuvenated
again. In the process of reading this story a question presents itself. This question is whether the
elixir Dr.Heidegger is testing is actually real. The answer is simply yes, the elixir is real. One
piece of evidence is that the elixir brings back a rose that had been dead for fifty five years. The
third person narrator notes a physical change upon drinking the elixir and the four test subjects are
so in awe with the elixir that they set out to find its source... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Heidegger s Experiment , some of the story is told from a third person point of view. This is
significant for one quote in particular, There was a healthful suffusion on their cheeks, instead of
the ashen hue that had made them look so corpse like (Hawthorne 3). This is significant because
an outsider is telling us there is a change. He has no bias in this situation, yet he notices a
physical change after they drank the elixir. This proves that this could not be a placebo effect, and
that the elixir is real. Another piece of vital evidence to support that the elixir is real, is that the
four test subjects plan to find the Fountain of Youth . They resolved forthwith to make a pilgrimage
to Florida, and quaff at morning, noon, and night, from the Fountain of Youth (Hawthorne 5). This
shows that the four test subjects want to feel young all the time. If the elixir was not real, they
would not be so desperate to find the source. The change that they felt was so invigorating, that
they want it all the time. This shows the true power of the elixir, further proving that it is real, and it

Bacillus Research Paper
Bacteria of the Bacillus genus are known to be rod shaped and are usually motile. They are
endospore forming and obligate aerobes, which means that these cells need oxygen to live.
Bacillus are Gram variable. They all begin as Gram positive; however, after time and aging of these
cells, there is a decrease in peptidoglycan which is why they are considered gram variable. These
cells can be arranged in a variety of different ways, including chains, pairs, and singles. The Bacillus
genus consists of approximately 370 different species (Priest et al., 1988). However, of all those
370 species, the only two that are pathogenic to humans are Bacillus anthracis and Bacillus cereus.
Not only does the Bacillus genus affect humans, but there are some... Show more content on

through antibiotics. This can also benefit those exposed or at risk of exposure. Antibiotic therapy is
proven to be the most successful treatment of anthrax. Bacillus anthracis is highly susceptible to the
antibiotic Penicillin; therefore, this is the agent used to treat patients infected with

Integration Of Theory And Practice Essay
Integration of Theory and Practice: My metaphor the Niuean lili will outline and demonstrate how I
integrated theory into practice, which is shown within the weaving context of the lili. The lili
consists of weaving two different components that incorporate biculturalism. The two different
components that support each other within the weaving process as to produce an art form. During
my practicum this is demonstrated with the support from my supervisor and Faleola mental health
services. An outline of how I have incorporated this while working with clients, families and the
team of Faleola mental health services. The guiding principles of my theoretical framework are
based on these four principles that consist of learning, inspiration, leadership and integrity. The
learning aspect in relation to my practicum has been with education towards the clinical language,
which is used on a daily basis with regards to the service that is provided. The clinical language is
with relation to the medications that are administered to the clients and with case notes that have to
be descriptive and detailed with factual information. This is evident with regards the clients action
plan towards recovery and wellbeing. The services provided include the cultural aspect of the client,
the language, the cultural protocols, which assists with the education of family and friends
regarding the clients treatment. Taking the time and effort towards learning a culture that is

In order for all this to happen, people needed to spread the word about the new ideas. This incident demonstrated that adversaries can achieve success by conducting influence operations. China identifies cyberspace as a key domain to project power and dominance. Chinese military strategists believe that information operations are directly linked to success or defeat in war and priority should be given to launching preemptive attacks. In 2005, China infiltrated numerous secure government systems and successfully retrieved more than ten terabytes of data. The first shortfall is that the scope must be broader. U.S. strategies sufficiently address threats to the physical and informational dimensions within the information environment. However, the U.S. lacks a strategy that identifies challenges and threats in the cognitive dimension within the information environment. Adversaries, such as ISIS, are effectively utilizing influence campaigns to advance their agenda by manipulation of the values, perceptions, and beliefs of the U.S. public and other target audiences. The classic story of Cinderella is the plot basis of this work. However, in this opera Pauline verdi interpret the traditional Cinderella story with some differences from the master copy fairy tale. The evil stepmother is replaced by an unfriendly stepfather who did illegal things earlier in his life, and through this he established a friendship with Barigoule. Another difference from the recognizable Cinderellastory is that Le Prince (The Prince) initially arrives at Cendrillon s home camouflaged as a bum, where he witnesses her generosity as she gives him bread and tea, while her step sisters weren t generous to him. At the point when Cendrillon arrives at the ball, Le Prince is disguised as Barigoule, so when they become hopelessly enamored he realizes that she isn t infatuated with him due to his crown. Furthermore, because Le Prince meets Cendrillon before the ball in this opera, it seems that he falls in love with her kindness personality, and not just due to her gorgeous appearance at the ball later in the story. At the end Cendrillon forgives her family for all of the pain they have caused her and they sing a happy song together in the finale of the piece. The cast of characters includes three sopranos, a mezzo soprano, two tenors and a baritone. It seems very important to point out that Cendrillon by Viardot is a chamber operetta originally ... They reveal themes by using symbols to represent both the actual person or object and also a deeper, hidden meaning. Placed through the story, symbols can be discovered if the reader takes a close thoughtful look. In William Goldings, The Lord of the Flies, a group of school boys are involved in a plane crash that leaves them stranded on a deserted island. • 24. U.s. Foreign Exchange Market If you ever traveled to a foreign country preferably outside the tourist traps and spent money, you probably had to exchange your domestic money for local currency. Regardless of where you made such a trade, such as at a currency exchange kiosk when you landed at the airport, the fact that you successfully transacted two, completely distinct currencies related by an exchange ratemeans that you were, for the briefest of moments, a participant in the nearly $4 trillion a day foreign exchange market, or forex. But it is unlikely that such a gargantuan turnover is the appreciable result of money changing by spendthrift globetrotters. Rather, in today s globalized economy, any institution, from a small export business to a central bank, is liable to have a hand in the currency and therefore the purchasing power of a foreign country. While the foreign exchange market may seem like a complicated world of arcane finance, it is not only possible for you to actively participate in it, but there is a highly developed infrastructure of individual or retail forex trading ready for your attempts to turn a profit from besting the ever changing exchange rate between currencies. While a professional comprehension of forex trading entails far more practical and conceptual knowledge than this process paper can capture, good preparation and a methodical understanding of the fundamentals of forex practices can help you develop the basic skills to get started in retail forex trading. The EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) and EIA (Energy Information Administration) both play key roles in the types of fuel we can run in our cars and trucks and thus they indirectly play a role in the overall price package that we consumers have to pay. When fuel arrives in the United States about 95% of it is in its natural state; that is crude oil. Light Intensity On Chloroplast By Ryan Enrico Caruso Ryan Enrico Caruso Title: Light intensity on chloroplast, in Spinacia oleracea, in creating high energy electrons which reduce DCPIP identifying how luminosity effects photosynthesis.. Abstract: Chloroplast were observed to question if high energy electrons are formed and how light intensity affects for photosynthesis. DCPIP (2,6 dichorophenol indophenol) liberates high energy electrons, from the electron transport chain, that reduce DCPIP from blue (oxidized form) to clear (reduced form). In addition, chloroplasts were exposed to different levels of light intensity to indicate how intensity levels are necessary for photosynthesis. Expecting DCPIP to get reduced quicker in chloroplast exposed to higher luminosity levels and slower or not at all with lower luminosity levels; DCPIP is expected to stay in its oxidized state when exposed to low levels of light and is expected to get reduced and turn clear when exposed to higher levels of light. Introduction: Plants are able to utilize a broad spectrum of light that can be used by chlorophyll within them to do something biologically useful. Moreover, they use the energy from light to manufacturer the foundation molecules for the food that we eat and as well the O2 we breathe. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Heidegger s Experiment , some of the story is told from a third person point of view. This is significant for one quote in particular, There was a healthful suffusion on their cheeks, instead of the ashen hue that had made them look so corpse like (Hawthorne 3). This is significant because an outsider is telling us there is a change. He has no bias in this situation, yet he notices a physical change after they drank the elixir. This proves that this could not be a placebo effect, and that the elixir is real. Another piece of vital evidence to support that the elixir is real, is that the four test subjects plan to find the Fountain of Youth . They are endospore forming and obligate aerobes, which means that these cells need oxygen to live. Bacillus are Gram variable. They all begin as Gram positive; however, after time and aging of these cells, there is a decrease in peptidoglycan which is why they are considered gram variable. These cells can be arranged in a variety of different ways, including chains, pairs, and singles. The Bacillus genus consists of approximately 370 different species (Priest et al., 1988). The lili consists of weaving two different components that incorporate biculturalism. The two different components that support each other within the weaving process as to produce an art form. During my practicum this is demonstrated with the support from my supervisor and Faleola mental health services. An outline of how I have incorporated this while working with clients, families and the team of Faleola mental health services. The guiding principles of my theoretical framework are based on these four principles that consist of learning, inspiration, leadership and integrity. The learning aspect in relation to my practicum has been with education towards the clinical language, which is used on a daily basis with regards to the service that is provided. The clinical language is with relation to the medications that are administered to the clients and with case notes that have to be descriptive and detailed with factual information. This is evident with regards the clients action plan towards recovery and wellbeing. The services provided include the cultural aspect of the client, the language, the cultural protocols, which assists with the education of family and friends regarding the clients treatment. Taking the time and effort towards learning a culture that is different to my own ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
