The Effects Of Children With Learning Disabilities On...
Life in a family that has a child with a learning disability is often both complex and challenging. There
are generally many practical as well as emotional issues involved. Many things have to be considered
such as educational, medical, and financial decisions. There are many issues that may arise from
having a child with a learning disability such as family stress, parenting discrepancies, negative
reactions from extended family members, difficulty in interacting with the school, and mixed effects
upon siblings (Dyson, 2010). In this essay I will discuss the main points of Dyson s article,
Unanticipated effects of children with learning disabilities on their families, things I learned from the
article, potential challenges and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The article describes the results of these other studies as being inconsistent. This is because the other
studies state that there are higher levels of stress in families with children having disabilities than
those that do not. A study conducted by Dyson found that despite higher degrees of stress, families of
children with developmental disabilities experienced the same level of family cohesion, maintenance
of the family system, and emphasis on personal growth as families of nondisabled children (Dyson,
2010). These studies regarding how disabilities affect the family have conflicting results therefore
Dyson wanted to know if similar results would be found in a study conducted with families that have
learning disabled children. The study that was conducted tested the hypotheses that having a child that
is learning disabled will have a negative effect on family life and on siblings in particular. The study
was conducted through the use of focus groups which conducted in depth group interviews and
consisted of ten families represented by eleven parents. The results of the study concluded that parents
suffered guilt, family stress, as well as martial tension. There were also parents blaming each other as
well as issues in regards to parenting styles. In regards to extended family support many parents felt

Human-Like Characteristics Of Grendel s Mother In Beowulf
Beowulf
its nothing like your mothers love Grendel s mother in Beowulf has a lot of human like characteristics.
She doesn t grieve she seeks revenge for her son. She displays it by loving Grendel even after all the
chaos and evil he causes. Grendel s mother is an antagonist along with Grendel, She displays human
like characteristics by showing Grief over her son being killed.
Revenge is the first characteristic we are going to discuss. Grendel s mother in the epic poem was not
visual to the public she usually just stayed in her den. Grendel spent most of his days causing chaos
because of how happiness made him feel. He(Grendel)took out most of his anger by killing the people
in the hall where the people of the town celebrated. When Beowulf came to the town and killed
Grendel by ripping his arms off his mother came to do the same. Grendel mother was infuriated and
wanted to find the person who killed her son and do the same to them. She attempted to stab Beowulf
with a dagger during the story after she attacked the town and Beowulf and his men pursued her. Herot
was her playground for one night but that night was when Beowulf ... Show more content on

When Grendel was killed his mother showed sympathy by crying and grieving for the little time she
did. Grendel s mother wasn t really the person to actually just cry about it she felt as if action should
have been taken and that form of action is revenge we have discussed how she showed revenge in the
first paragraph. Grendel mother killed one of Herot s people to try to fill the empty space in here heart.
Along with Grendel s mother sympathizing Grendel sympathized about things such as the love he had
for his mom. Grendel had more love for his mom than he did he did anything else. We can only infer
that based off of the information we have from the

Private Health Insurance
The United States is currently a mess when it comes to health insurance. Everyone needs health
insurance, but we need to remain at private health insurance because if we don t have the money to
fund for it then we d be without health insurance. Research shows that we aren t getting our money s
worth when it comes to health insurance. The United States need health insurance and there are many
different types of health insurance that you may find suitable for you. For instance a single payer
system one in which the government pays for all healthcare cost. Medicare and Medicaid are
examples of single payer health insurance. Medicare is for people at the age of 65 and older with

health insurance because the government is nonprofit by the service, so which means they do not have

administrative costs. The third reason is because large entity has better bargaining

Private Vlan Must Be Made Of Primary Vlans
private VLAN must be made of primary VLANs, which will contain promiscuous ports and secondary
VLANs which will contain isolated and community ports (Santana, 2014, p. 80). 6. Site VLAN: Site
VLANs are used on only one site for the purposes of discovery and adjacency maintenance between
edge devices (Santana, 2014, p. 358). 7. Voice VLAN: This VLAN is exclusively for Voice over IP
(VoIP). The network must be customized for this traffic by having adequate bandwidth, giving the
VoIP traffic precedence over other network traffic, and minimal delay (Cisco, 2014, Section 3.1.1.4).
b. VRF VRF stands for Virtual Routing and Forwarding (Santana, 2014, p. 89). This technology
allows the router to run more than one routing instance at a time, saving money on equipment and
increasing efficiency. It also separates the traffic on the router automatically on the device, which
increases security for the network (Patterson, 2009, para. 1). c. Data segmentation: Methods of
Network Segmentation Network segmentation is dividing parts of a network for performance and
security purposes (Cordray, 2015, para. 2). Companies need to separate departments based on the
security levels of the employees within those departments to ensure that no employee can access
information that they do not need. Segmentation is also done to provide security from outside attacks
by setting up a number of boundaries the attacker would have to go through to reach confidential data
(Peterson, 2016, Section 2).

Confucius Lives Next Door
Confucius Lives Next Door is a book containing the similarities and differences of the east and west.
Not only does this book contain similarities and differences, but it also contains historic and modern
day facts about Confucius and the Antalects. The main reason for the author writing this book was to
write how Confucius has influenced the population in the east in the past, and today. The book
describes how the Antalects are still part of modern education.
The quote I chose for this paragraph is in chapter 4, page 105. The quote says A true gentleman is
made, not born, says the master . The paragraph is talking about gentleman, and how one becomes a
gentleman. I agree with this statement, because when someone; boy or girl, is born, they don t
automatically open doors for others. They have to be taught how to respect people, and if the parent or
guardian does not do that, the child has to teach itself. They look at how other people act and choose
to be nice, polite and respectful, or rude and dishonest. This makes me feel happy, because the author
is stating what I believe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The quote is very long, so instead of typing the whole paragraph, I will type the part that caught my
attention. This says in other words, people feel the need to try not to do anything that might bother
other people . This caught my attention because I wish people in the west would consider this every
time they do something rude. I am not saying that everyone in the west is like this, but many people
are. When someone starts being unruly and loud in a quiet place, they are being selfish. That person is
bothering other people, and that is what people in the east try to avoid. Everyday confrontations, will
still happen, but imagine how calm the world would be if everyone were to think of that

Australia
One place I have always dreamed of visiting and living is Australia. Whenever I see Australia on TV
everything looks beautiful. The people seem very friendly and warm. Culturally it seems like a good
fit for me because the people are pretty easy going and so am I.
The country is made up very similar to us in its people according to http://www.indexmundi.com/ a
few positives for me is that the infant mortality rate is lower and the life expectancy is a little higher in
Australia. One big note is the obesity rate is 26% amongst adults versus 33% in the US. 0
Financially the country is very stable. Their GDP is 999 billion and their 5 year growth rate is 2.5. The
unemployment rate is 5.6% which is not too different then the US.

Of Mice And Men Companionship Quotes
Mark Twain once said, To get the full value of joy you must have someone to divide it with ( Mark
Twain Quotes Quotable Quote ). From this, we can understand that companionship is necessary in
every aspect of life if one wishes to be content. In the novel Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck
portrays the need for companionship through George and Lennie s relationship, Curley s wife s social
experiences, and Crooks loneliness.
John Steinbeck portrays the need of companionship throughout the novel using George s relationship
with Lennie on a multitude of occasions. This is done first by showing how George cannot stand the
thought of him and Lennie being separated. It is conveyed to George by Lennie that he could live on
his own in a cave if he is unwanted; however, George instantaneously pushes the thought away saying,

We see this throughout the novel when Curley s wife is in Crooks room. She explodes in rage towards
Candy, Crooks, and Lennie, expressing that she wants to talk to others more often (Steinbeck 77). This
suggests that her marriage limits her social freedom and what she is allowed to do on the ranch.
Additionally, Curley s wife threatened Crooks over a simple problem. She uses a racial slur and
threatens to lynch Crooks just because he tells her to leave his room (Steinbeck 80 81). We can derive
from this situation that Curley s wife has difficulty being with most others. However, she acted kind
towards Lennie. On page 90 of Of Mice and Men, we see that as she starts talking to Lennie, they both
warm up to each other and are very kind. This demonstrates how, though Curley s wife can be very
unpleasant towards others, she has the capacity to be kind. Overall, we are led to see how Curley s
wife s social experiences show the need for companionship in Of Mice and

Compare And Contrast Greek And Etruscan Art
Greek and Etruscan art 1. There are numerous instances of the Etruscan artists taking their cue from
Greek artists. The tendency was so prevalent that at one time historians considered Etruscan art as
wholly derivative. The Etruscans did copy a lot of Greek art in both technique and design. One of
those instances is in their construction of their temples. There is a definite similarity in both technique
and design. The Etruscans incorporated columns in their temples long after the Greeks started doing
so, and the similarities did not end there. There were sculptures and paintings inside the temples that
were patently Greek in design. The Etruscans traded with Greece and attacked it several times, so
there were several points of interaction and copying. The above example does not however evacuate
the fact that there was art that was patently Etruscan. That civilization had a lot of foreign influences;
from Greek to Roman, but it did have its own original art. An example is painting of tomb interiors.
Before these were dated, they were thought to be copies of Greek art. However, dating has proved that
the paintings existed before the Greeks started doing their murals. It is proof that the Etruscans did ...

The advantage of studying Etruscan culture side by side with Roman art is mainly to take advantage of
the interaction of cultures. The two civilizations were in the same area at the same time in existence.
There were conflicts, but there was also trade between the neighbors. Due to the proximity, they must
have shared numerous cultural aspects. One could find him or herself repeating research into Roman
art when the question could be answered by an aspect of Etruscan art. The two civilizations became
mutually inclusive because of that aspect of neighborliness. The aspect of Romulus and Remus being
fed by the wolf is a point of congregation for both of the civilizations. That congruence is significant
because the concept is central to the existence of both

Kierkegaard
Kierkegaard, in Works of Love uses 1 Cor. 8:1 Love builds up as a starting point to discuss how love
can be discussed.
He begins his discussion by recognizing that to build up is a transferred expression that has both a
general and spiritual meaning. In the general sense, Kierkegaard says that to build up is to construct
something from the ground up into the heights (201). It is not just to build, but to build from the
foundation, from the ground, up. He provides the example of the parable of the wise and foolish
builders, the one of whom builds his house without a foundation while the other does build from the
foundation up. A key part of what to build up means to Kierkegaard is that it is built on something, a
foundation. This is what he means when discussing to build up in the general sense. ... Show more

This, as with all sins, separates them from others and from God. Fairlie describes pride as puffed up,
stuck up, stiff necked...superiors...aloof (Fairlie 41). It is when the soul is inordinately pleased with
itself (Fairlie 41). Love as building up helps combat the sin of pride in a person because it forces the
prideful to acknowledge that there is love in other people, placed there by God. If the person who has
a tendency toward pride makes this presupposition about others, then it becomes difficult to maintain
the sin of pride. The presupposition of love in another affirms that they too are a person of value, and
this alone helps to combat pride, which considers others as less than. Acknowledging another s worth
helps the sinful person be humble, which is opposite of

Pearl Harbor And Pearl Harbor Similarities
I ll be comparing and contrasting the similarities and differences between Pearl Harbor and the attack
on the World Trade Center on 9/11. Although they have many differences, they had some huge
similarities. For example, both were huge tragedies that devastated the United States and left
thousands of innocent people dead or wounded. The first part of my essay will be my comparison
between the two tragedies. My second half will be the differences in these awful events. Some of these
similarities and differences you wouldn t even believe like the choices that president George W. Bush
made and what happened to all the ships the day that Pearl Harbor occurred. If you want to know what
happened keep reading. Aren t you the least bit curious? I would be if I were you.
On 9/11/2001 had even occurred George W. Bush received a memo that had been handed to him titled
Bin Laden determined to strike in the U.S. saying, he would be hijacking planes, and possibly
targeting New York City. Pearl Harbor could have been avoided as well if only Franklin D. Roosevelt
had been more serious about the memo he was given by the naval intelligence stating that Tokyo s
military and spy network was focused on Hawaii just three days before the attack on 12/07/1941.
The attack on Pearl Harbor resulted in a total loss of 2,343 casualties. A total number of servicemen
killed was 2,335 and 1,143 were wounded, a total of sixty eight civilians were also killed as well as

Analysis Of The Awakening By Kate Chopin
Landon McNellage
Mr. McNellage
AP Literature (2nd)
7 February 2017
The Awakening by Kate Chopin The Victorian mindset a demeanor of setting women as having a role
of nothing more than a submissive wife and household aid. The Awakening showcases this mindset
through the enlightening of characteristics and qualities of several characters throughout the novel.
Edna Pontellier, at the age of twenty eight, is revealed throughout the novel as obtaining a gradual
change of self view of placement in society and life. Throughout the novel, this drastic change and
endurance of hardships are demonstrated through the setting, tone, overall progression of events,
symbolism, and example of other characters. Chopin begins the novel by revealing the setting, ...

Mademoiselle Reisz enlightened Edna on the idea that a bird who rises above the societal norms they
were faces with must have strong wings or else it will fall back down. This bird with strong wings
symbolizes the way in which Edna felt following her first swim. She felt invincible, and she felt as if
she could accomplish anything she set her mind to even if it was unheard of during the late 1800s.
However, the advice Mademoiselle Reisz offered Edna unfortunately was used as a foreshadow for
what was to come. The bird, Edna s emotions and feelings, did fall back down and crash. This was
evident after Robert left Edna a note, and she realized her chances at love were over. Not too long
afterwards, Edna headed to swim one last time. On her way to the shore, she spotter a bird with a
broken wing. This week bird was the last symbol of Edna s feelings she was broken hearted,
depressed, and uncertain. However, she still chose to have the independence she fought for so long for,
and she decided to end her life in the pit of all of the depression. She refused to allow anything else to
be taken away. This emotional hill of rising and falling only demonstrates further all of the
indifference Edna had to endure. The overall symbolism used by Chopin demonstrates both Edna s
actual situational difficulty and emotional difficulty that are pointed back

it is too restrictive and conservative. The new dress code severely limits the already limited options of

Overview of the Arab Culture Essay
Name of Culture Arab is not a race, but is a group of individuals that are united by their culture and
history (ADC, 2014). There are many different variations commonly based on a particular individual s
country of origin such as Arab Americans. Other variations are based on their social class, the level of
their education, if they live urbanely or rurally, or the time they have spent in the United States
(Lipson Dubble, 2007). Most Arabs also practice Islamic religion and are Muslim. When working with
an Arab or Muslim client, nurses should ask what the client wishes to be referred to so as not to offend
them in any way (Lipson Dubble, 2007).

If unsure how to address the patient, the nurse should ask how a friend or distant relative would
address them. Adults and elderly may have other preferences like mother or father, followed by the
first name of their eldest son. When approaching an Arab, it is acceptable to shake their hand, smile,
and offer direct eye contact. Although the patient may avoid these gestures, they are not viewed as
offensive (Lipson Dubble, 2007).
Historical Background Prompting Immigration Arabs began arriving in the United States in the early
1800s. The first large wave arrived between 1887 1913. Many single, uneducated men were included
in this large wave if immigrants. They were arriving from Greater Syria in search of a better job and a
higher standard of living (Lipson Dubble, 2007). The next wave of Arab immigrants came to the
United States from 1940 1970. This wave of immigrants was driven by the political events and wars
going on in their home countries; many of these immigrants were refugees. In 1948 the creation of the
State of Israel drastically increased the amount of Arab Muslim immigrants (Lipson Dubble, 2007).
The third marked wave of Arab immigrants came from 1970 2000. This wave was also driven by wars
and economic and political circumstances that were quickly deteriorating. The majority of these
immigrants were professions of high education (Lipson Dubble, 2007). Between 1982 1989, the

Cautions In any situation that has to do with the human body, we must always evaluate any health
problems that one might not think could relate to other issues. Depo Provera in some instances has
might increase cholesterol and other blood fats, so users should have these checked regularly
(Osathanondh, 1995b). Long term use can increase risk of osteoporosis due to a loss in bone density.
Although these problems will not affect most users, they should always get regular check ups. Of
course, make sure they are not pregnant before starting the injection. Finally, the most common risk
found is that people think the shot will protect from hepatitis, HIV, and other sexually transmitted
diseases. The only protection against those factors would be condoms or abstinence. Also, this form of
birth control should not be used if the potential user has abnormal bleeding yet to be diagnosed, severe
liver disease, ever had a liver growth, being treated or have a history of breast cancer, had a stroke,
recently had blood clots in the legs or eyes, a recent pulmonary embolism, or if they are allergic to

How in the world can this issue be reversed? Or Am I compounding the issue with my own consumer

But I am. Most all of America is linked to it with the rest of the world following in suit. But I tend to
try and put a positive spin on it myself so that maybe just maybe there is a solution. A clean up method
that could work, or a better way of using our current materials so as to try and make our economy
bounce back and stop or slow this whole water pollution issue. This chapter is now also making me
consider whether or not the shrimp I ate at a restaurant awhile ago may have been affected as well. If
it did then what effect has it had on me physically? Also, another thought that comes to mind is if it
has had any major affects on the U.S. population as a whole? Or if it has anything to do with why our
politicians don t seem to do anything remotely right or close to what they say they are going to do.
Then there is the fact that FOUR MILLION tons of plastic just up and poof, disappear, every year.

Hayek Rawls Second Principle Of Justice
Hayek on Rawls Second Principle of Justice
For Friedrich Hayek, Napoleon s famous declaration la carriere ouverte aux talents , captured the
essence of the classical liberal movement, namely that all individuals should have equal opportunity to
improve their condition in society, and that the state s role is to eliminate any institutional advantages
that may privilege some over others (Hayek, V) . In Equality, Value, and Merit, Hayek argues that this
liberal principle been corrupted by egalitarians who now wish the state to not only strive to eliminate
institutional advantages, but all advantages, including individual ones, which may lead to some
individuals accruing more wealth than others (V). Individual advantages, Hayek maintains, are ...

This clearly clashes with the underlying philosophy of John Rawls second principle of justice, namely
that inequalities are arbitrary unless it is reasonable to expect that they will work out for everyone s
advantage (Rawls, 165). This is because, fundamentally, Hayek has a different conception of the
meaning of justice than does Rawls. For Hayek, justice is to be thought of in the same way that liberty
and coercion are, that is, that it ought to be confined to the deliberate treatment of men by other men
(Hayek, VI). Thus, to Hayek to associate justice with the distribution of goods in the market makes no
sense, for it would be equivalent to claiming that the distribution of height among persons is also a
matter of justice, for what determines such distributions is not the will of any person or persons, but
rather the outcomes of uncontrollable forces (VI). Thus, inequalities of wealth are neither just nor
unjust, rather it is merely the outcome of an unequal distribution of individual abilities, which is the
amoral product of nature and an amoral market system which rewards those abilities on the basis of
their value to

Title
Ansel Adams once said, No man has the right to dictate what other men should perceive, create or
produce, but all should be encouraged to reveal themselves, their perceptions and emotions, and to
build confidence in the creative spirit (Quote). Ansel Adams was born on February 20, 1902 in San
Francisco, California. Adams had a rough childhood, in the sense that he did not perform well in
school and was not very good at making friends. He was asked to leave school at the age of twelve
because he could not get his work done, due to the fact that he was dyslexic. In order to continue his
education, he has to be homeschooled. He took on the art of photography because of all his struggles

Unambiguously, my current assignment sparked the interest to use Verizon as my research subject. My
objective in researching Verizon s financial statements was gaining a better understanding of the
company s short and long term goals, once again the old adage Study the past if you would define the
future... has proven to be correct. As I embarked on this journey, I reviewed the requirements, after
selecting Verizon, and subsequently realized that my choice was not a traditional manufacturing entity;
as such I focused my analysis on key types of financial ratios. My analysis will discuss Verizon s
performance as it relates to Asset Productivity, Financial Strength, and Profitability. Through my
research, paired with the course s content my initial impression of this project changed, as did my
appreciation for the role of the Verizon s Financial Management team.
I will also answer the question: Why I would or would not buy their stock if I was an investor?

The Reign Of The Carolingian Dynasty
Although the reign of the Carolingian dynasty occupied only a brief part of the entirety of the
medieval era, the Carolingian Empire that was established during that period made both a historical
and cultural impact on medieval society that would resonate for years to come. Until the empire fell in
888, the Carolingian House of the Franks initially brought stability and progress to most of Europe, as
well as pioneering a cultural and intellectual renaissance that influenced the remainder of the Middle
Ages. Although there were various Carolingian rulers who aided these advances, it is fair to say that
Carolingian developments reached their peak during the reign of Charlemagne, a leader and reformer
of the church who fully appreciated the importance of learning and education. Throughout his reign,
he established himself, as a ruler, and his empire as an example that subsequent Kings of the Middle
Ages would aim to obtain and uphold. In addition, Charlemagne created a cultural legacy that allowed
the empire to prosper and formed links between the medieval world and the ancient world. With this
in mind, this essay will principally explore the positive aspects of the Carolingian legacy and the ways
in which they were fundamental to the development of medieval society, focusing on the most
significant successes during the reign of Charlemagne. It will also briefly touch upon the role of other
Carolingian leaders as well as the societal impact of the eventual dissolution of the

Broadcasting Corporation s Decision On Broadcast Jerry...
Introduction What I intend to write about
In this report, I will be assessing the British Broadcasting Corporation s decision to broadcast Jerry
Springer: The Opera back on 8th January 2005. In order to judge the decision, I will be looking at the
reasons why the BBC made the decision to air it in 2005. I will be comparing the number of people
who complained to the BBC to the total amount of people who watched the broadcast using viewing
figures and charts. In addition, I will also look at the viewpoints of the Christian Voice Campaign who
argued against the opera. Finally, I will also be using my knowledge of Utilitarianism and Kantianism
while referencing the viewing figures and the BBC s general duty to the public to establish my ...

BBC s arguments for their decision on televising Jerry Springer: The Opera
According to figures from BBC News, over 1.7 million people tuned in to watch the opera. The report
continues to state that there were 317 phone calls made to the BBC since the transmission and a mass
of them were very supportive. [3] However, there was an overall high figure of 63,000 complaints
about the opera and it became the most criticised television programme ever. [4] (Inglis, Media Ethics.
2014 pers. comm., 8th December) Despite the number of complaints, the BBC defended their decision
on broadcasting the opera through a corporation spokesman. The spokesman said that the BBC
conformed to their choice of televising the contentious opera and that it endures to be shown to
congested audiences in London s theatres. [5] This statement shows that there were people interested
in the opera by the time the BBC broadcasted it. The spokesman continues by saying that the
corporation were proud to see that a broad range of crowds were able to witness a vital modern
musical work. [6] (Created with Microsoft Works Spreadsheet.) BBC News. 2005. Springer opera

Abstract
Strategic planning is the overall planning that facilitates the good management of a process by taking
employees outside the everyday activities of their organization and provides them actual
representation of what they are doing and where they are going. A Strategic planning process includes
mission statement, goals for accomplishing mission, approaches for implementing goals, action plans
and monitoring and updating of plan. Various models/techniques such as iconic, analog and

Some questions such as where are we, what do we have to work with, where do we want to be and
how do we get there are considered in any strategic planning for organization (Schilder 2006).
According to Shapiro, strategic planning enables to answer the following questions:
Who are we/what capacity do we have/what can we do?
What problems are we addressing and what difference do we want to make?
Which critical issues must we respond to?
Where should we allocate our resources and what should our priorities be? (Shapiro n.d.)
After the above questions are answered, then the below questions are taken in account for
consideration in strategic planning:
What should our immediate objective be?
How should we organize ourselves to achieve this objective?
Who will do what when? (Shapiro n.d.)
According to McNamara (2003), sstrategic planning provides several benefits to organizations. First,
it clearly defines the purpose of the organization and establishes realistic goals and objectives of the
organization. It also brings together every employees best and most reasoned efforts, and ensures the
most effective use of the organization s recourses. Strategic planning provides a base, from which
progress can be measured, establishes clearer focus of organization, more efficiency and effectiveness
and solves major problem of the organization. Some potential problems and their solutions are given

Mother Jones s Impact On Child Labor Laws
Have you ever wondered how some people enact change? Mother Jones protested for child labor laws.
Melba integrated a white high school in order to get rid of racism. Nelson Mandela joined South
Africa s congress to help racism. They all persevered to enact change, but they took different
approaches for their problems. Mother Jones made an impact on child labor because she persevered to
protect children. They way down to the White House just to protect kids. According to Josephson in
Mother Jones: Fierce Fighter for Workers Rights, She and the textile union leaders would stage their
own tour. They would march the mill children all the way to the president of the United States
Theodore Roosevelt. This shows how she got her idea to try to persuade not only the President but
make this issue publicly known. Josephson states, Mother Jones had seen how dangerous their jobs
were. Barefooted little girls and boys reached their tiny hands into the treacherous machinery to repair
snapped threads or crawled underneath the machinery to oil it. Josephson has a heart for kids, and she
just can t stand to see them being tortured like this. Josephson says, The next night, the marchers slept
on the banks of the Delaware River. In every town, Mother Jones drew on what she did best speaking
to gather support for her cause. Mother Jones had to be strong to carry out her task, and to get her
point across to the people. Mother Jones had to be strong in order to carry out her tasks. Nelson

Number Of Drops Of A Penny Lab Report
Introduction
The number of drops a penny can hold is affected by the type of liquid. Will the number of drops on
the penny until it overflows change if I change the liquid from water to sodium chloride water and by
how much will it change? To investigate this, there needs to be variables that are not changed when
experimenting. The penny is the dependent variable because it depends on the number of drops to
overflow and the drops of the liquid the independent variable as it does not change or depend. The
controlled variables include using the same penny, applying the same amount of pressure on the
dropper for each drop, the height of the drop that is falling onto the penny, and using the same
dropper. The independent variable is changed from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In this recent one, how many drops of sodium chloride can a penny hold before it overflows, it turned
out to be the penny can hold 31 drops before it overflows. However these results may not be as
accurate as they are supposed to be and may only be 80 percent accurate. Evaluation/Analysis The
height of the liquid dropping from the dropper may have been from the same height if the hand was
resting on the table/desk for each drop of sodium chloride, however the angles the liquid was dropped
and where (on which part of the penny) it was dropped may make a difference in results. It may
interfere with the amount of force on the water on top of the penny to cause it to move and overflow.
Another error may be with the amount of liquid dispersed on the penny each time (in one squeeze of
the dropper) which also associates with the amount of force exerted as the dropper was squeezed. A
solution this would be to use a dropper than only disperses a certain amount of liquid at a time (the
pressure or force of the squeeze does not make a difference to how much liquid is released). This
would provide more accurate results and not create

Summary Of Dry Lps Oughta Move To Kapuskasing
The play Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing written by the phenomenal Tomson Highway.
Showcases the violence that Indigenous people were faced upon on the reserves through a darker
portrayal. The prominent issues within the play have a clear correlation to colonialism such as
alcoholism, hanging around all day and treatment towards women. The Indigenous men throughout
the play blame women for their certain living condition. Before colonialism women were honored and
highly respected with the Indigenous culture. But through colonialism, they were taught that males are
superior from women. Our production will showcase the effects of colonialism on indigenous men and
their perception and treatment of women. The reasoning behind choosing this theme within our
production in order to demonstrate the lasting effects of colonialism, not simply through vague ideas
but through the concrete aspects of indigenous life. Through the play, the audience will be well
exposed to the audience aware of certain, lesser known struggles that the victims of colonialism face
on a daily which will be enhanced by the theatrical element, lighting. A prominent scene that shows
the participation of women within Dry Lips Oughta Move to Kapuskasing is at the beginning of the
play when Zachary is passed out on the ground, fully naked. During the scene, Nanabush is placed in
the back in which she is getting dressed. There will be a single spotlight at the beginning of the scene
which will be upon Zachary.

  • 2. The Effects Of Children With Learning Disabilities On... Life in a family that has a child with a learning disability is often both complex and challenging. There are generally many practical as well as emotional issues involved. Many things have to be considered such as educational, medical, and financial decisions. There are many issues that may arise from having a child with a learning disability such as family stress, parenting discrepancies, negative reactions from extended family members, difficulty in interacting with the school, and mixed effects upon siblings (Dyson, 2010). In this essay I will discuss the main points of Dyson s article, Unanticipated effects of children with learning disabilities on their families, things I learned from the article, potential challenges and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The article describes the results of these other studies as being inconsistent. This is because the other studies state that there are higher levels of stress in families with children having disabilities than those that do not. A study conducted by Dyson found that despite higher degrees of stress, families of children with developmental disabilities experienced the same level of family cohesion, maintenance of the family system, and emphasis on personal growth as families of nondisabled children (Dyson, 2010). These studies regarding how disabilities affect the family have conflicting results therefore Dyson wanted to know if similar results would be found in a study conducted with families that have learning disabled children. The study that was conducted tested the hypotheses that having a child that is learning disabled will have a negative effect on family life and on siblings in particular. The study was conducted through the use of focus groups which conducted in depth group interviews and consisted of ten families represented by eleven parents. The results of the study concluded that parents suffered guilt, family stress, as well as martial tension. There were also parents blaming each other as well as issues in regards to parenting styles. In regards to extended family support many parents felt that other ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

She doesn t grieve she seeks revenge for her son. She displays it by loving Grendel even after all the chaos and evil he causes. Grendel s mother is an antagonist along with Grendel, She displays human like characteristics by showing Grief over her son being killed. Revenge is the first characteristic we are going to discuss. Grendel s mother in the epic poem was not visual to the public she usually just stayed in her den. Grendel spent most of his days causing chaos because of how happiness made him feel. He(Grendel)took out most of his anger by killing the people in the hall where the people of the town celebrated. When Beowulf came to the town and killed Grendel by ripping his arms off his mother came to do the same. Grendel mother was infuriated and wanted to find the person who killed her son and do the same to them. She attempted to stab Beowulf with a dagger during the story after she attacked the town and Beowulf and his men pursued her. Herot was her playground for one night but that night was when Beowulf ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Grendel mother killed one of Herot s people to try to fill the empty space in here heart. Private Vlan Must Be Made Of Primary Vlans private VLAN must be made of primary VLANs, which will contain promiscuous ports and secondary VLANs which will contain isolated and community ports (Santana, 2014, p. 80). 6. Site VLAN: Site VLANs are used on only one site for the purposes of discovery and adjacency maintenance between edge devices (Santana, 2014, p. 358). 7. Voice VLAN: This VLAN is exclusively for Voice over IP (VoIP). The network must be customized for this traffic by having adequate bandwidth, giving the VoIP traffic precedence over other network traffic, and minimal delay (Cisco, 2014, Section 3.1.1.4). b. This technology allows the router to run more than one routing instance at a time, saving money on equipment and increasing efficiency. It also separates the traffic on the router automatically on the device, which increases security for the network (Patterson, 2009, para. 1). c. Data segmentation: Methods of Network Segmentation Network segmentation is dividing parts of a network for performance and security purposes (Cordray, 2015, para. 2). Companies need to separate departments based on the security levels of the employees within those departments to ensure that no employee can access information that they do not need. Segmentation is also done to provide security from outside attacks by setting up a number of boundaries the attacker would have to go through to reach confidential data (Peterson, 2016, Section 2). ... • 6. Confucius Lives Next Door Confucius Lives Next Door is a book containing the similarities and differences of the east and west. Not only does this book contain similarities and differences, but it also contains historic and modern day facts about Confucius and the Antalects. The main reason for the author writing this book was to write how Confucius has influenced the population in the east in the past, and today. The book describes how the Antalects are still part of modern education. The quote I chose for this paragraph is in chapter 4, page 105. The quote says A true gentleman is made, not born, says the master . The paragraph is talking about gentleman, and how one becomes a gentleman. I agree with this statement, because when someone; boy or girl, is born, they don t automatically open doors for others. They have to be taught how to respect people, and if the parent or guardian does not do that, the child has to teach itself. They look at how other people act and choose to be nice, polite and respectful, or rude and dishonest. This makes me feel happy, because the author is stating what I believe. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The quote is very long, so instead of typing the whole paragraph, I will type the part that caught my attention. This says in other words, people feel the need to try not to do anything that might bother other people . This caught my attention because I wish people in the west would consider this every time they do something rude. I am not saying that everyone in the west is like this, but many people are. When someone starts being unruly and loud in a quiet place, they are being selfish. That person is bothering other people, and that is what people in the east try to avoid. Everyday confrontations, will still happen, but imagine how calm the world would be if everyone were to think of that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

From this, we can understand that companionship is necessary in every aspect of life if one wishes to be content. In the novel Of Mice and Men, John Steinbeck portrays the need for companionship through George and Lennie s relationship, Curley s wife s social experiences, and Crooks loneliness. John Steinbeck portrays the need of companionship throughout the novel using George s relationship with Lennie on a multitude of occasions. This is done first by showing how George cannot stand the thought of him and Lennie being separated. It is conveyed to George by Lennie that he could live on his own in a cave if he is unwanted; however, George instantaneously pushes the thought away saying, You can jus as well go to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... We see this throughout the novel when Curley s wife is in Crooks room. She explodes in rage towards Candy, Crooks, and Lennie, expressing that she wants to talk to others more often (Steinbeck 77). This suggests that her marriage limits her social freedom and what she is allowed to do on the ranch. Additionally, Curley s wife threatened Crooks over a simple problem. She uses a racial slur and threatens to lynch Crooks just because he tells her to leave his room (Steinbeck 80 81). We can derive from this situation that Curley s wife has difficulty being with most others. However, she acted kind towards Lennie. On page 90 of Of Mice and Men, we see that as she starts talking to Lennie, they both warm up to each other and are very kind. This demonstrates how, though Curley s wife can be very unpleasant towards others, she has the capacity to be kind. • 9. Compare And Contrast Greek And Etruscan Art Greek and Etruscan art 1. There are numerous instances of the Etruscan artists taking their cue from Greek artists. The tendency was so prevalent that at one time historians considered Etruscan art as wholly derivative. The Etruscans did copy a lot of Greek art in both technique and design. One of those instances is in their construction of their temples. There is a definite similarity in both technique and design. The Etruscans incorporated columns in their temples long after the Greeks started doing so, and the similarities did not end there. There were sculptures and paintings inside the temples that were patently Greek in design. The Etruscans traded with Greece and attacked it several times, so there were several points of interaction and copying. The above example does not however evacuate the fact that there was art that was patently Etruscan. That civilization had a lot of foreign influences; from Greek to Roman, but it did have its own original art. An example is painting of tomb interiors. Before these were dated, they were thought to be copies of Greek art. However, dating has proved that the paintings existed before the Greeks started doing their murals. It is proof that the Etruscans did ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The advantage of studying Etruscan culture side by side with Roman art is mainly to take advantage of the interaction of cultures. The two civilizations were in the same area at the same time in existence. There were conflicts, but there was also trade between the neighbors. Due to the proximity, they must have shared numerous cultural aspects. One could find him or herself repeating research into Roman art when the question could be answered by an aspect of Etruscan art. The two civilizations became mutually inclusive because of that aspect of neighborliness. The aspect of Romulus and Remus being fed by the wolf is a point of congregation for both of the civilizations. • 10. Kierkegaard Kierkegaard, in Works of Love uses 1 Cor. 8:1 Love builds up as a starting point to discuss how love can be discussed. He begins his discussion by recognizing that to build up is a transferred expression that has both a general and spiritual meaning. In the general sense, Kierkegaard says that to build up is to construct something from the ground up into the heights (201). It is not just to build, but to build from the foundation, from the ground, up. He provides the example of the parable of the wise and foolish builders, the one of whom builds his house without a foundation while the other does build from the foundation up. A key part of what to build up means to Kierkegaard is that it is built on something, a foundation. This is what he means when discussing to build up in the general sense. ... Fairlie describes pride as puffed up, stuck up, stiff necked...superiors...aloof (Fairlie 41). It is when the soul is inordinately pleased with itself (Fairlie 41). Love as building up helps combat the sin of pride in a person because it forces the prideful to acknowledge that there is love in other people, placed there by God. If the person who has a tendency toward pride makes this presupposition about others, then it becomes difficult to maintain the sin of pride. • 11. Pearl Harbor And Pearl Harbor Similarities I ll be comparing and contrasting the similarities and differences between Pearl Harbor and the attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11. Although they have many differences, they had some huge similarities. For example, both were huge tragedies that devastated the United States and left thousands of innocent people dead or wounded. The first part of my essay will be my comparison between the two tragedies. My second half will be the differences in these awful events. Some of these similarities and differences you wouldn t even believe like the choices that president George W. Bush made and what happened to all the ships the day that Pearl Harbor occurred. If you want to know what happened keep reading. Aren t you the least bit curious? I would be if I were you. On 9/11/2001 had even occurred George W. Bush received a memo that had been handed to him titled Bin Laden determined to strike in the U.S. saying, he would be hijacking planes, and possibly targeting New York City. Pearl Harbor could have been avoided as well if only Franklin D. Roosevelt had been more serious about the memo he was given by the naval intelligence stating that Tokyo s military and spy network was focused on Hawaii just three days before the attack on 12/07/1941. Mademoiselle Reisz enlightened Edna on the idea that a bird who rises above the societal norms they were faces with must have strong wings or else it will fall back down. This bird with strong wings symbolizes the way in which Edna felt following her first swim. She felt invincible, and she felt as if she could accomplish anything she set her mind to even if it was unheard of during the late 1800s. However, the advice Mademoiselle Reisz offered Edna unfortunately was used as a foreshadow for what was to come. The bird, Edna s emotions and feelings, did fall back down and crash. This was evident after Robert left Edna a note, and she realized her chances at love were over. Not too long afterwards, Edna headed to swim one last time. On her way to the shore, she spotter a bird with a broken wing. This week bird was the last symbol of Edna s feelings she was broken hearted, depressed, and uncertain. However, she still chose to have the independence she fought for so long for, and she decided to end her life in the pit of all of the depression. She refused to allow anything else to be taken away. This emotional hill of rising and falling only demonstrates further all of the indifference Edna had to endure. The PTA endorsed this code before it was issued to the students. However, upon seeing the new rules many students have complained that it is too restrictive and conservative. There are many different variations commonly based on a particular individual s country of origin such as Arab Americans. Other variations are based on their social class, the level of their education, if they live urbanely or rurally, or the time they have spent in the United States (Lipson Dubble, 2007). Most Arabs also practice Islamic religion and are Muslim. Many single, uneducated men were included in this large wave if immigrants. They were arriving from Greater Syria in search of a better job and a higher standard of living (Lipson Dubble, 2007). The next wave of Arab immigrants came to the United States from 1940 1970. This wave of immigrants was driven by the political events and wars going on in their home countries; many of these immigrants were refugees. In 1948 the creation of the State of Israel drastically increased the amount of Arab Muslim immigrants (Lipson Dubble, 2007). The third marked wave of Arab immigrants came from 1970 2000. In Equality, Value, and Merit, Hayek argues that this liberal principle been corrupted by egalitarians who now wish the state to not only strive to eliminate institutional advantages, but all advantages, including individual ones, which may lead to some individuals accruing more wealth than others (V). This clearly clashes with the underlying philosophy of John Rawls second principle of justice, namely that inequalities are arbitrary unless it is reasonable to expect that they will work out for everyone s advantage (Rawls, 165). This is because, fundamentally, Hayek has a different conception of the meaning of justice than does Rawls. For Hayek, justice is to be thought of in the same way that liberty and coercion are, that is, that it ought to be confined to the deliberate treatment of men by other men (Hayek, VI). Thus, to Hayek to associate justice with the distribution of goods in the market makes no sense, for it would be equivalent to claiming that the distribution of height among persons is also a matter of justice, for what determines such distributions is not the will of any person or persons, but rather the outcomes of uncontrollable forces (VI). Thus, inequalities of wealth are neither just nor unjust, rather it is merely the outcome of an unequal distribution of individual abilities, which is the amoral product of nature and an amoral market system which rewards those abilities on the basis of their value to ... The Reign Of The Carolingian Dynasty Although the reign of the Carolingian dynasty occupied only a brief part of the entirety of the medieval era, the Carolingian Empire that was established during that period made both a historical and cultural impact on medieval society that would resonate for years to come. Until the empire fell in 888, the Carolingian House of the Franks initially brought stability and progress to most of Europe, as well as pioneering a cultural and intellectual renaissance that influenced the remainder of the Middle Ages. Although there were various Carolingian rulers who aided these advances, it is fair to say that Carolingian developments reached their peak during the reign of Charlemagne, a leader and reformer of the church who fully appreciated the importance of learning and education. Throughout his reign, he established himself, as a ruler, and his empire as an example that subsequent Kings of the Middle Ages would aim to obtain and uphold. In addition, Charlemagne created a cultural legacy that allowed the empire to prosper and formed links between the medieval world and the ancient world. With this in mind, this essay will principally explore the positive aspects of the Carolingian legacy and the ways in which they were fundamental to the development of medieval society, focusing on the most significant successes during the reign of Charlemagne.
