Model Simulation And Fire Model For Biological Neurons
Introduction The human nervous system is composed of billions of neurons that respond to stimuli,
conduct impulses, and communicate with other cells. Dendrites, a branched extension of a nerve cell,
receives information from other neurons. The soma, or cell body, is responsible for whether or not the
neuron sends out signals consisting of a short electrical pulse called an action potential, or spike. This
spike is carried out by axons, delivering it to other neurons, and has a duration of a few milliseconds
and an amplitude of 100 mV. A biological neuron model is a mathematical description of the
properties of nerve cells that is designed to accurately describe and predict biological processes. One
way to do so is by using the integrate and fire model which displays a trajectory of fluctuating
potential versus time in the sub threshold regime and outputs spikes that are triggered when the
membrane potential reaches its threshold. Once this threshold is reached, the membrane potential is
then reset, allowing the process to start again.
Model Simulation and Graphs In creating the leaky integrate and fire model, using the information
given, such as the parameters and threshold we created an if statement within a for loop (see Appendix
A for complete code). The code was set with parameters 푅 and 휏 equal to one and 퐼0 equal to two.
Setting the step size to .01 and calling for 600 steps, the code was able to produce eleven spikes. The
code provides a for loop which takes the

India s Influence On India
India is a well known country that is located in Southern Asia, between Burma and Pakistan while
bordered by the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Distinguished with a long history, it is known that
the north western Aryan tribes came to settle with the Dravidian tribe during 1500 B. C., thus creating
what is now known as India ( Central Intelligence Agency , 2007). India is a high ranking country that
has made its mark in history, which has shaped the world today. From their love of culture, respect and
inner nature of purity and modesty to the influence in knowledge of Technology, Science and Music,
India is considered the mother of cultures. Even as a growing partner to various thriving countries,
they are still at the top of the pyramid. The first area of interest is the political structure of this country.
Great Britain had control over India for some time until 15th August, 1947 when they gained
independence. Almost three years later when the Constitution of India came into effect and, therefore,
India became a Republic on 26th January, 1950. India is the largest practising democracy in the world,
with elections at every level based on universal adult suffrage. General elections are normally held
every 5 years. Today, the Union of India comprises 29 states and 6 union territories with the Central
Government at New Delhi, the capital of the country. The political structure laid down by the
Constitution is federal in nature but unitary in spirit, with

The Schlieffen Plan
The Schlieffen Plan The Schlieffen plan was a plan created by General Count Alfred von Schlieffen in
11903 for the German Army, at the request of Kaiser Wilhelm II. The Schlieffen Plan was an
operational plan for an attack on France and Russia. Schlieffen advised the Kaiser that the plan should
be implemented by 1916, as Germany would be strong enough for a victory by then.
The final version of The Plan was built around classic military strategy. Thirty four divisions,
supported by heavy artillery, would invade Belgium, advance an attack on France from the northern
Ardennes into the city of Lille. Schlieffen expected the Belgians not to resist, to simply let them pass
through, or, if they fought, to be quickly defeated. A smaller force

Transformation In Oates s Where Is Here
Explanatory essay When I was 10 years old, I walked into a scary apartment with a cemetery in the
back with me brother and his friends. The wind was blowing so hard like someone was giving me a
sign not to go in but I did. When I went in the the apartment there was a sign that said beware in red
colors. My brother and his friends when into a room with burnt doll heads. Then, when we left the
room of the apartment a powerful wind blew in and we heard a door shut and glass break. At that
point, me my brother and his friends bolted out of the room, out of the apartment and into the car. The
next day me and my brother went to a religious area to not be scared anymore. My day transformed
good to scary in a matter of a snap. Transformation can create fear. Transformation can be seen in
these three stories as well. Oates s Where is Here, Arthur Tress Dream Collector and Julio Cortazar s

easily circumstances can change. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

until the stranger showed up at their front door. Also the father and the mother were fine with each
other until the stranger showed up and now made the father and the mother to fight about the problem
they had. For example, it says she went on worriedly, he could be anyone, after all. Any kind of thief,
or mentally disturbed person of even a murderer . Everything has changed and been different then it

The Kneeling Protest
Is the Kneeling Protest Needed or Disrespectful Professional athletes protesting the National Anthem
has sparked controversy among American citizens causing a massive debate as to whether or not this
protest is a disrespectful protest or a protest that is greatly needed in America. In my eyes, NFL
players protesting the National Anthem is needed as the unity and equality that the National Anthem
stands for is nonexistent. I stand with the NFL players protesting the National Anthem and I will tell
you why. Colin Kaepernick, the NFL player who started to kneel, is protesting the National Anthem
because he believes that the police brutality here in America is unconstitutional and I agree with him.
Police officers are brutally murdering unarmed African Americans without due process. These police
officers aren t providing these now dead men and women any chance to prove themselves innocent in
a court. Amendment 14 which states Equal protection under the law is being completely violated by
police officers yet no one is doing anything to stop them. Between 2005 to April 2017, CNN states
that only 80 officers were convicted for murder or manslaughter, yet an estimated amount of 1000
police shootings occur yearly here in the United States. This means for every 150 police shootings, 1
police officer was convicted of murder. The 150 to 1 ratio is just way too high and calls for a change.

Auditor Independence On A Corporation s Financial...
Independence Introduction
Auditors provide comfort and assurance regarding a corporation s financial position and its financial
statements. The assurance field centers upon one common trait: trust. Trust is vital to an auditor
because investors must feel confident that the financial statements accurately reflect the company s
financial standing. Auditor independence is the backbone behind the perceived trust and comfort an
auditor provides while examining the financial statements. If an auditor impairs independence, how
can an investor ensure that he or she is relying upon accurate information? Since trust is an essential
part of the auditor investor relationship, the government and accounting oversight boards have taken
several measures ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
By applying the most restrictive set of independence rules one improves the likelihood of impairment
because as restrictiveness increases it becomes increasingly difficult to comply with the rules. In
essence, one is being conservative in his or her application of the most restrictive set of rules.

PCAOB and AICPA
The PCAOB and AICPA function in similar ways but differ in one core department. Title I of the
Sarbanes Oxley Act of 2002 created the PCAOB and states the purpose of the group is, ... to oversee
the audit of public companies that are subject to securities laws, and related matters, in order to protect
the interests of investors and further public interest in the preparation of informative, accurate and

PCAOB throughout nine sections in Title I of the act. These duties include establishing or adopting
standards including ethics and independence. It is also important to note that the PCAOB operates
independently and its members are not considered agents of the Federal Government. However, the
Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) maintains oversight authority over the PCAOB,
including the approval of the Board s rules, standards and budget (About the PCAOB). In contrast, the
AICPA oversees the audit of

When one looks at how the media continues to communicate...
When one looks at how the media continues to communicate certain messages to the American public,
it is remarkable how some trends have continued for decades. This is particularly true concerning
images and graphics and the subtle messages that they carry in the world of print communications.
The unfortunate reality is that the media is no different from many institutions in American society in
that it has to sell products to the public in order to stay financially stable. As a means of doing so, the
media provides audiences with images that often satisfy their desires and meet their expectations.
Consequently, the inclusion of such stereotypes creates a vicious cycle as the audience continues to be
exposed to such messages and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The country will always know about African American basketball players who reside in coastal cities
such as New York or Los Angeles, but the small town country boy will remain a mystery to the nation.
Furthermore, the inclusion of the scantily clad cheerleaders on both covers suggests that it is the girls
responsibility to keep their man s physical talents top secret. As both Larry and Doug are positioned in
a traditional masculine manner by having their brawny arms flexed around their hips, the cheerleaders
surrounding them are bending down to show off their sexy and fit bodies. The message remains
through the decades that in terms of our athletic heroes, it is the women s job to serve the supporting
role of serving in their best interests. As Potter explains, the media has remained just as influential as
it ever has in terms of reaching a vast number of people. People continue to spend more and more time
with the media. Over the past three decades, every new survey of media use has shown that the
average person is increasing exposure every year (Potter 5). With such rampant exposure, the
institution of the media has become only more powerful in its efforts to disseminate messages that
perpetuate stereotypes and reinforce the audience s previously held beliefs. Unfortunately, Sports
Illustrated continues to perpetuate backwards stereotypes by issuing its very popular swimsuit

The Pearl Symbolism Essay
The short novel The Pearl by John Steinbeck is based on an old folktale and is about a man named
Kino, his wife named Juana, their baby named Coyotito, and the struggle they face when Kino finds
the pearl of the world. Steinbeck shows that materialism and greed, left unchecked, can lead to
immoral behavior through the characters of the town doctor, Kino, and the three attackers. Steinbeck
uses the doctor as a symbol to represent the materialism and greed, left unchecked, can lead to
immoral behavior. This seen when the town doctor refuses to treat the dying Coyotito. The narrator
states, Have I nothing better to do then cure insect bites for little Indians ? I am a doctor not a
veterinarian. ( ?). This shows that the doctor is too greedy to treat the baby because he knows they
have no money to pay for it. He is a doctor and should be willing to help someone, payment or no
payment. Another time the doctor becomes a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He shows this when Juana is trying to throw the pearl back but Kino beats her. The narrator states, Her
arm was up to throw when he leaped at her and caught her arm and wrenched the pearl from her. He

side. ( ?) Here Kino beats up his wife in order to save a pearl that was tearing his family apart. He no
longer cares about who he hurts or what he hurts just that he gets what he is after. Another example of
Kino s greed is when is going to sell the pearl. Kino declines an offer from a pearl buyer, not because
he knows the pearl is more valuable but because he wants more money, more things, more
opportunities, and is he not willing to give that up under any circumstances. All of these show that
being greedy can put us in unwanted situations that could have been

The Yugoslavian Conflict
Yugoslavia is a country burdened by feuding sides in a war that cannot soon be resolved. The United
Nations are attempting to help the situation, but until the people of Yugoslavia can come to an
agreement continued warfare and heartache is inevitable.
The problems in Yugoslavia began because the country is separated into two distinct parts. The north
and west parts of the country were once under the rule of the Austro Hungarian Empire, and the south
and the east were controlled by the Ottoman Empire. This had extreme effects on the ethnic, cultural
and economic differences between the two sides. The three major religions in Yugoslavia were Greek

The whole affair was organized as military support to the federal police and customs personnel. The
Slovenians offered strong resistance with their territorial defense units, politically organized the
withdrawal of their representatives from the presidency and the Executive Council of Yugoslavia, and
directed a massive propaganda campaign presenting themselves as victims of brutal Yugoslavian
National Army aggression.
Croatia also attempted to claim independence, but they had a problem that the Slovenians didn t have

Serbians in Croatia and with the new laws that the Croatian government tried to impose the minority
Serbians were given no rights as a minority and were forced to go by the new found Croatian law. This

to keep order. Many of these conflicts left many people dead and wounded. The
Yugoslavian National Army (JNA) openly sided with the Serbian rebels, the
Croatians used this opportunity to start an all out anti JNA campaign. The JNA responded by saying
that it took orders from the Presidency of Yugoslavia, not from Tudjman, the Croatian leader, and that
it was constitutionally obliged to protect the integrity of the country and to preserve peace when it was

Essay on Malibu Fires
Malibu Fires
Human beings are able to adapt to almost any environment, unfortunately sometimes we take
advantage of our natural surroundings. We find ourselves amidst a struggle between our lifestyles and
nature. Although we affect nature profoundly with our activities, we in turn are shaped by nature s
potent forces.
Nature can be brutal to humans, but we must remember that it merely is following its course. As a
result, we must learn to coexist with it. Fire is a naturally occurring phenomenon which humans have
learned to deal with throughout history.
Yet when fire burns uncontrollably, there is great potential for monumental damage to all surrounding
biomass. The Malibu wildfires are an example of one ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

homes at the mouth of the San Gabriel Canyon. The total damage caused by wildfires in the San

Statistically, Malibu and its surrounding area has seen much damage done to its vegetation and
inhabitants. There have been 24 wildfires that burned a total of 271,047 acres since 1927. These fires
have caused a total of five deaths and the destruction of 1,502 homes along with 830 other structures.
Recent fires include the Malibu fire in 1985, Dayton Fire in 1982 and Malibu
Canyon fire in 1970. In the Malibu Fire, 103 homes were destroyed; in the
Dayton Fire, 85 homes were destroyed. The Malibu Canyon Fire, which joined forces with the New

acres (Wildfire sec. 2 p.1). Out of all the homes burned, 70 were located in Malibu and 65 in
Chatsworth (Wildfire sec. 2 p.1). Previous to that fire, the last time Topanga Canyon had seen a
damaging fire was December 30, 1956, when 74 homes were destroyed (Wildfire sec.

Roe Vs Wade Essay
Roe v. Wade was a decision made by United States Supreme Court regarding abortion in 1973. It was,
and still is, one of the most controversial decisions the Supreme Court has ever made. Abortion is
defined the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the
uterus . The appellant was a single, pregnant woman from Texas who wished to get an abortion. Prior
to the court s decision, abortion was illegal under Texas state law except in cases where the abortion
would save the pregnant woman s life. The appellee was Henry Wade, a lawyer defending the Texas
state law. The court ruled on the side of Roe, with a 7 2 decision. The Supreme Court ruled that the
Texas statute violated Jane Roe s constitutional right to privacy , and argued that the Constitution s

It was argued that anti abortion laws were the product of a Victorian social concern to discourage
illicit sexual conduct (543). Another reason abortion was previously prohibited was because the
procedure was a hazardous one for the woman (544). The court pointed out that this was no longer
valid or relevant in this day of age. They explained that abortion was now relatively safe , and that
mortality rates for women undergoing early abortions, where the procedure is legal, appear to be as
low as or lower than the rates of normal childbirth (544). When abortion is prohibited, women seeking
abortions sometimes tend to undergo illegal abortions, which are extremely unsafe. Therefore, the
court said, the state has a legitimate interest in seeing that abortion, like any other medical procedure,
is performed under circumstances that insure maximum safety for the patient (544). When abortion
was illegal, the mortality rate for women having abortions was significantly higher than when it was

Ivan Iv ( 1530-1584 )
Ivan IV (1530 1584) was proclaimed Grand Prince of Moscow in 1533 and from 1547 until his death,
the first to be crowned Tsar of Russia. During his reign, Ivan established autocracy, expanded Russia s
territory, and centralized its government. Ivan The Terrible earned his name through his unstable
personality, containing bloodlust, paranoia and violent outbursts that would ultimately hurt his own
country. On his deathbed, the Grand Prince of Moscow, Vasily III, told his wife, Princess Elena
Glinskaya, that his first son, Ivan IV, would inherit the throne after he dies and she would serve as
regent until he came of age, since he was three at the time. After his father s burial, Ivan IV was
proclaimed the true Sovereign of all Russia (Payne and Romanoff 24). After a successful five year
reign, Elena died surprisingly from either a heart attack or poison. Vasily Shuisky took the regency
and showed no sympathy to Ivan. He threw his mother s lover, Ivan Obolensky, into prison and
ordered his nurse, Agrafena Cheliadnina, into a nunnery. The feuding boyar families of Belsky and
Shuisky battled over power while Ivan was left neglected and served only to be a figurehead to
whomever was in control of the Regency. On December 29, 1943, the current Regent, Andrey
Shuisky, was arrested on the orders of Ivan. Instead of following the regular course of events that were

What Is The Pharaoh s Reason In The Book Of Exodus
In the book of Exodus from the Bible, God and Pharaoh both wish for possession of the Hebrews for
different reasons. Pharaoh rose to power in Egypt thinking he could use them to his benefit and the
city s benefit, all while trying to reduce the number inhabiting the powerful city, while God wanted to
free his people from the oppression occurring in Egypt. Pharaoh took the throne in Egypt only to come
to quick conclusions. The pharaoh stated, See! The Israelite people have multiplied...let us deal

The Importance Of Physical Education On American Schools
The Importance of Physical Education in American Schools
Review
Hommes, Tiffany J., Bemidji State University, USA
Background Many children in America do not receive the needed amount of physical activity needed
to maintain a healthy weight. Approximately17% of children are obese (Robert Wood Johnson
Foundation, 2016) and 1 in 3 children are overweight or obese (American Heart Association, 2016).
This is a local and national emergency that needs to be addressed to keep children healthy, prevent
morbidities, and control the costs that are associated with being overweight or obese. Pre diabetes,
type 2 diabetes, and hypertension in children is at an all time high. However, research indicates that
only 3.8 percent of American elementary schools provide daily physical education (Robert Wood
Johnson Foundation, 2007). This paper will discuss the importance of daily physical education in our
schools. There is an abundance of support to provide daily physical education in our schools. First
Lady Michelle Obama (2010) stated that she will lead a national initiative to reverse the childhood
obesity epidemic. In her initiative, she mentioned the intervention of increasing physical activity to
change this epidemic (Obama, 2010). In fact, Healthy People 2020 has objectives to increase the
portion of the America s private and public schools that require daily physical education U.S.

Child Support And Development Of Children And A Standard...
In today s society most families are female headed households. The upbringing and development of
children and a standard of living adequate for the children s development is a common responsibility
of both parents and a fundamental human right for children and asserts that the primary responsibility
to provide such for the children rests with their parent. (United Nations Convention on the Right of the
Child, 1992). Children have a right to a decent start in life. This right is the obligation of the father and
the mother to support the child s financial and emotionally wellbeing. With the involvement of both
parents, children get the chance they need and deserve to reach their full potential.
Understanding child support and the duties and procedures can be a very difficult process for both
parents involved. Child support is a payment of money for a child under the age of 18 which has been
ordered by the circuit court within their jurisdiction. There are various approaches to calculating the
amount of child support award payments some jurisdictions consider multiple sources of information
when determining support, taking into account the income of the parents, the number and ages of
children living in the home, basic living expenses and school fees. Support payments may include
monthly or weekly, bi weekly collections of payments for expenses of medical, dental, and other
health care, child care expenses, and educational expenses. For instance, in the U. S. state of

Analysis Of She Stoops To Conquer
She Stoops to Conquer by Oliver Goldsmith is a play written in 1771 that premiered in London in
1773. Some theatrical conventions have remained the same, while others have changed. Consequently,
Stolen Shakespeare Guild performance of She Stoops to Conquer strays from the original production.
One similarity in the plays is the use of female actors. This play first premiered in London in 1773.
During this time women actually played female roles unless it was a role such as a witch or a comic
old women. Women even got the chance to play male roles especially if the character was a female
pretending to be a male (britches parts) , or if the character was a feminine male. Women being on
stage was such a big deal that some productions would advertise having all the parts played by
women.
In the version, I saw of She stoops to Conquer women were playing the women roles. As a matter of
fact, the story revolved around the lives of two women Ms. Hardcastle and Constance Neville and
these actresses did a wonderful job portraying these characters. Women playing these roles designed
for women made the play more effective because it added to it s believability. Women bring a certain
softness to stage that I don t think men can offer, and that softness that was brought on stage by these
actresses added a little more to the story. This is one convention that I m glad we ve stuck with.

Marcus Brutus, The Most Noble Roman in Shakespeare s Play...
Being ethical, patriotic, reasonable, and showing selflessness are just a few characteristics of a noble
man. After the death of respected Julius Caesar, the speedy fight for power exposed the veracious side
of Roman figures. William Shakespeare, in his play Julius Caesar, examines the struggles for the title
of the noblest Roman between ethical Marcus Brutus and other power thirsty Romans to reveal the
most honorable man. Marcus Brutus shows qualities of a noble roman through patriotism. He makes
many tough decisions that result in questioning his character, but the actions he takes are for the
betterment and out of the love for Rome. After the assassination of Caesar, Brutus orders: And let us
bathe our hands in Caesar s blood / Up ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Brutus can be summarized as a welcoming and loving person. Although he s classified as a conspirator
against Caesar, he tried to not scare Romans and Antony. After killing Caesar, Brutus attempts to
explain and make peace with Antony by saying:
Our hearts you see not; they are pitiful;
And pity to the general wrong of Rome
As fire drives out fire, so pity pity
Hath done this deed on Caesar. For your part,
To you our swords have leaden points, Mark Antony:
Our arms in strength of malice, and our hearts Of brothers temper, do receive you in With all kind
love, good thoughts, and reverence (III.i.169 176).
By saying this to his enemy, he lessened the tension and showed ethics that he did not plan on killing
Caesar s companion. He only targeted who was wrong for Rome. Due to Brutus s high moral
standards and ethical values, he received a great amount of respect from his followers. When Brutus
came close to his death he said farewell and thanked his followers. As his hands shook he said: My
heart doth joy that yet in all my life / I found no man but he was true to me. / I shall have glory by this
losing day / More than Octavius and Mark Antony / By this veil conquest shall attain unto. / So fare
you well at once (V.v.34 390).
By saying this Brutus tells his followers that in all his life time, he hasn t met a man that was untrue to
him. Brutus followers only greatly respected him because he was caring and loving to him. Not only

The Differing Perspectives of Greek Philosophers Essay
Unlike Parmenides and Heraclitus, who took a clear stance on whether being is changing or
unchanging, Empedocles argued that things do change, but these objects are composed of materials
that do not change. The change that we see is merely a cause of the interaction and changes in position
of the four basic elements (earth, air, fire, and water). Much like Heraclitus and his views that orderly
change is brought about by the logos , Empedocles also recognized that there was a force responsible
for the change brought about. In his case, changes in the forms and positions of the basic elements was
an effect of two forces love and strife (or more commonly known as the forces of attraction and
repulsion/decomposition). The philosophy of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not until recently did we find that atoms, which were assumed to be matter s basic particles, where
themselves made up of even smaller particles. So in that sense, Anaximander is correct in his
philosophy of there being a pure substance , which is the root of everything that we see.
Heraclitus and Parmenides both recognized that the materials which make up the universe could be
broken down to one basic substance, but they came to disagreement over what that basic substance
was exactly, as well as the state of being. Heraclitus believed that everything was fire (or made of
fire), and that it was the fundamental source of change in the universe because a main property of the
universe was that it was in a constant state of changing. Parmenides argued that the entire idea of
change was impossible and that the universe was essentially unmoving and unchanging. Parmenides
was a Monist, so he held the idea that the world is unitary, and that all the individuals in it are part of
an even greater unified whole. One of his arguments that motion and states of being are impossible.
Protagoras was a sophist, who believed that knowledge was relative. There are four main types of
relativism (species, descriptive, cultural, and individual), but general main idea of each is that there is
no absolute truth (comparable to agnosticism). Protagoras said that man is the measure of all things .
We can interpret this as there is no absolute truth and

can be studying a subject to be literate in it. You need to be able to show dedication and determination
to carry on and achieve. The first hard skill is being able to read as you had to practice at it and
improve overtime. Such as at school you were taught it. This is important as if you cannot read then
how will you read instructions given by co workers which could lead to a lack of communication and
as a result of this your team could fail. The second hard skill is your job, if this is working in IT this
could be in coding programs. This is a hard skill as you would have needed to learn this in the process.

The Unfortunate Case of the Kidnapped Teddy Bear
Lee Fletcher s day started as it usually did being rudely awoken from his wonderful dreams. Today s
happened to be a particularly engaging version of his arrival at Camp Half Blood which did not
include him screaming for his mother. Luckily, none of the current occupants of his cabin knew the
true sequence of events and so he was able to command a certain degree of respect as Head
Counsellor. And by certain, a little. Hey, it was better than nothing. Lee opened bleary eyes to meet his
little sister s blue ones. They were staring at him, unblinking, and appeared to be tearing. Internally
panicking, he forced himself to sit up. He pulled Kayla into what he hoped was a comforting hug.
What up, Kay? Lee asked, sincerely wishing nothing . Will and Michael won t listen to me. They re
fighting again. Kayla looked up at him imploringly. He shifted his shoulders uncomfortably. Yeah?
How about we just let them fin He was interrupted by a resounding crash from the front of the cabin,
followed by an exclamation of Oh, you are soo in trouble! Lee licked his lips. To intervene or not to
intervene. That was the ME? YOU WERE THE ONE WHO DID IT, YOU DIPSTICK! Another crash.
This one was accompanied by the sound of splintering wood. Intervene, intervene! Lee yelped,
launching himself off of the bed. Kayla grabbed his t shirt and toddled after him as he bolted for the
source of the noise, her short legs taking two steps for each of his. Lee stumbled into the

What Is Riparian Water Rights
In the United States, there are two primary water right laws; the first is riparian water rights and the
second is prior appropriation water rights. Riparian water rights has two methods of use. One method
is the person who owns the land by the water source owns the water, but cannot interfere with the
natural flow of the water. The other is based upon reasonable use. A person can use the water if it is
reasonable for the purpose of his needs. This is based on case by case usage. Prior appropriation water
rights gives the right of the water to whoever claimed the land by it first. The person with seniority has
right to use as much water as wanted. The best policy is the riparian water rights. Both systems fair for

Research Paper Dave Matthews
There are many phenomenal musicians in the world, but very few as diverse and cultured as Dave
Matthews. Matthews was born in Johannesburg, South Africa, in 1967. Matthews and his family then
moved two years later to Westchester County, New York, where his dad went to work for IBM. Then,
in the early `70s, Matthews and his family moved to Cambridge, England, before returning to New
York. It was in Cambridge where Matthews dad died in 1977 from Hodgkin s disease. After his father
s death, the family moved back to South Africa in 1980. It was here that Matthews went to a few
different schools and learned more about the evils of government, there and in general.

Matthews was to find the best musicians around and surround him with them.
The Dave Matthews Band formed in Charlottesville, Virginia, in early 1991, when Matthews decided
to put some songs he had written on tape. Instead of simply recording himself with a guitar, he instead
decided to bring in some instrumental help to give his musical ideas more depth. His first move was
finding the right people to play the parts in his band that he decided fit. He began his search and
formed the racially integrated band that is now known worldwide and are continuously ranked in the
top five for the largest grossing concert tours of the year. The key roles were soon filled by
phenomenal musicians in the area. Dave found assistance in drummer Carter Beauford and
saxophonist LeRoi Moore who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville
music scene. Based on the recommendation of distinguished local jazz guru John D earth, 16 year old
musical prodigy Stefan Lessard came on board to play bass. Completing the band was keyboard
player Peter Griesar, who left the band after a couple of years, as well as the talented and classically
trained violinist, Boyd Tinsley The band was finally formed, and they played their first official

Analysis Of My MistressEyes Are Nothing Like The Sun
My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun... is a sonnet written by William Shakespeare and is also
known as Sonnet 130. He wrote this poem to mock the conventional Petrarchan love sonnets which
are about women who have unattainable beauty. This poem is written in the Shakespearean sonnet
format which consists of a total 14 lines with the first 12 lines divided into three quatrains, and the last
two lines make up a couplet. The quatrains establish the motif or problem of the poem while the
ending couplet explains or resolves the previous lines. Sonnet 130 is a long conceit where the speaker
of the poem goes through a long list of comparisons that seem like insults. The speaker uses
juxtaposition to show that his love for his mistress is strong by describing her in a blunt way that
seems insulting on the surface, but he reveals in the end he loves her even though she is flawed. In the
first quatrain of My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun... , the speaker is already showing that this
is not an ordinary love poem. He says, my mistress eyes are nothing like the sun (line 1). This
metaphor depicts that the woman does not have bright eyes. Most poets would use a cliché to describe
a woman s eyes as bright or like sapphires, but the speaker is saying there is nothing special about her
eyes. Next, the speaker describes the woman s lips. The color coral is slightly orange, but he believes
coral is more red than her lips. Also, most poets would describe their subjects to have bright, shiny red
lips (2). In these two lines, the speaker compares his mistress to things found in nature, and many
people associate beauty with nature. However, that is not the case with this poem. He describes her as
the complete opposite. In line 3, the woman s skin is described as gray which makes it seem like her
skin is dull. In Shakespeare s time, pale skin was more desirable, and since she does not have a pale
complexion, it would make her less attractive. The speaker then compares her hair to wire in this line:
If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head (4). A beautiful woman is usually described as having
silky locks. That is the opposite in this poem. This comparison depicts the woman to have hair that
lacks

Biography Of Irving Penn And Diane Arbus
Before photography was considered a medium of personal art, it was used for the sole purpose of
portraiture. Carte de visites, daguerreotypes, and even tintypes were all used as a way to convey a
person s physical appearance into a print. As camera technology evolved, so to did the way
photographers take portraits. It skipped from a stale faced man behind a backdrop to colorful and
interesting photographs taken of people from all walks of life. Three of the innovators of modern
portraiture are Robert Mapplethorpe, Irving Penn and Diane Arbus. These photographers changed the
public appearance or ordinary people and celebities while integrating their own original ideas. Irving

The style of his portraits adds to and even sometimes surpasses the fashion shown. While Penn shot
for vogue, he also strayed away from fashion some of the time to focus on influential figures with the
same style of the fashion portraits he took in the past. A series of his that is very influential is his
corner portraits from the late 1940s, where he took portraits of different individuals all standing in a
very claustrophobic corner, almost making them seem less important than their influence states. Some
examples of this include portraits of Marchel Duchamp and Georgie O Keeffe: Two very prominent
painters are photographed cut off from the work of art, seemingly stuck in a gray walled room with no
artistic fervor anywhere to be seen. The photographs are bleak, but offer a sense of distance from the
audience, enough to show these famous individuals as humans. Penn creates beauty through humanity,
with or without the help of fashion his portraits convey truly an unhinged reality of fashion and art,
unseen by the general public. Robert Mapplethorpe s portraits are probably the most dissimilar from
Irving Penn s in terms of style and subject, but his photographs use the same ideas of beauty.
Mapplethorpe was born in Queens, NY in 1946, and studied at the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn before
dropping out to live in New York full time

Theme: Disappointment is a theme of The Red Pony one example is when Billy leads Jody to believe
it will not rain but it does and Jody is disappointed in Billy for being incorrect.
Mood: A mood from The Red Pony is overwhelmed because after the death of Nellie or Gabilan Jody
was both sad and mad but his mother and Billy could feel he was overwhelmed.

her child was healthy but she had died for it to happen.
Irony: One use of irony is symbolism the mountains symbolize barriers and the indents symbolize
rough paths which is ironic because in this story Jody goes through many rough times and rocky
roads.
Imagery: In the grey quiet mornings when the land and the brush and the houses and the trees were
silver gray and black like a photograph negative, he stole toward the barn past the sleeping stones and
the sleeping cypress tree this quote shows imagery as I can picture the field and everything in it.

used because the women ring the triangle for everyone to come to the house and having

Deterioration of the Nuclear Family
Deterioration of the Nuclear Family
What is a family? The meaning of family has changed throughout history. It means something
different to many people. According to the U.S. Census Bureau: A family includes a householder and
one or more people living in the same household who are related to the householder by birth,
marriage, or adoption. All people in a household who are related to the householder are regarded as
members of his or her family. A family household may contain people not related to the householder,
but those people are not included as part of the householder s family. Thus, the number of family
households is equal to the number of families, but family households may include more members than

Thematic Meaning in City Lights
In order for art to be successful, despite the category of its expression, one thing is necessary; a
connection between the piece and its audience that can transcend time and space. If a song, film,
poem, novel, play or painting possesses the ability to touch audiences of any era or culture, then it is
truly successful. Notable movements of artwork are associated with the time in which they were
produced. For example, rock and roll music is associated with the 1960s and the 1970s; impressionist
painting with the late 1800s; romantic poetry with the late 1700s to early 1800s; film noir with the
1940s to 1950s. Although all of these movements can ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Chaplin further illustrates his thematic message through more involved situations than his initial ones
of simple comedic delivery. The millionaire jumps into the water believing that he is committing
suicide, but the noose is on the tramp so the tramp falls in instead. The tramp s encounters with the
flower girl leave her with the wrong impression of him; she believes he is a rich man. During the
boxing match, the tramp believes his coach is the flower girl. The tramp s opponent in the match also
punches the referee in the midst of the chaotic fight, mistaking him for the tramp. The police and
butler wrongly accuse the tramp of burglary, even though the millionaire actually gave the tramp the
money. The increased drama surrounding these situations takes the delivery of the thematic message
that things are not always what they seem to be the next level. The final and most significant delivery
of the meaning of Chaplin s film is given during the last scene. The audience sees that the flower girl
now has her own flower shop, thanks to the kindness of the tramp. She is no longer blind, and now can
truly see the world for what it is, thanks to the operation that the tramp s generosity gave her. When
she sees the tramp getting bullied on the street, she is amused and feels bad for him so she tries to
offer him some change. Although she now has sight, she cannot see him for who he really is; the

We Must Go Wrong Will Going Wrong
Anything that can go wrong will go wrong. Even with the knowledge that human error, internal and
external factors can, do, and will affect the outcome of any given task, individuals strive towards
creating environments in which risk levels can be safely and satisfactorily managed by facing those
threats head on. There is a lesson behind each disappointment or negative outcome that leads us to a
greater understanding of and appreciation for our surroundings. More importantly, this newfound
knowledge and experience contribute to the evolution of safer, more manageable systems that are
capable of anticipating future threats to any given environment. This type of learning is especially
beneficial in the aviation industry. Without a true appreciation of the costly mistakes that have forever
changed the face of the industry, aviation would neither have evolved into the safest mode of
transportation in the world, nor would it be as rich in technological and human behavioral resources.
We ve spent the last years in aviation focusing on increasing safety by trying to perfect the aircraft
only to learn, as Wilbur Wright stated, [that] the safety of the operator is more important than any
other point. Greater prudence is needed rather than greater skill. Wright suggests that it is not a
measure of technology or individual crewmember capabilities, rather the issue at the center of aviation
is the lack of caution and preparation that exists within the cabin. Information gathered from

Adam Turner Smart Home Technology
Even though the home of the future will bring many benefits to consumers, owning home appliances
connected to the internet may pose a security risk. In an article by Adam Turner, titled Smart
technology may make your home a net target , Turner explains the dangers of using smart home
devices. How do these dangers affect smart home technology? To explain the issues, Turner relays the
knowledge of AVG security adviser Michael McKinnon. Mckinnon claims that people use most of
these devices to access files remotely, giving hackers the opportunity to breach them. After a hacker
gains access to a home s internal network, they can then collect passwords and financial information
(Turner 1). The essence of Turner s argument is that by using internet connected smart home
technology, hackers have an easier means of accessing sensitive information.
However, as home technology advances, security measures are advancing as well. Michael
Passingham s article titled The Norton Core is a crazy looking, ultra secure router presents a new line
of defense against home hackers. Passingham states:
Symantec says the Core will be constantly updated with a huge database of smart home devices and
will automatically quarantine any device that s running firmware known to be a security risk. You ll ...

  • 2. Model Simulation And Fire Model For Biological Neurons Introduction The human nervous system is composed of billions of neurons that respond to stimuli, conduct impulses, and communicate with other cells. Dendrites, a branched extension of a nerve cell, receives information from other neurons. The soma, or cell body, is responsible for whether or not the neuron sends out signals consisting of a short electrical pulse called an action potential, or spike. This spike is carried out by axons, delivering it to other neurons, and has a duration of a few milliseconds and an amplitude of 100 mV. A biological neuron model is a mathematical description of the properties of nerve cells that is designed to accurately describe and predict biological processes. One way to do so is by using the integrate and fire model which displays a trajectory of fluctuating potential versus time in the sub threshold regime and outputs spikes that are triggered when the membrane potential reaches its threshold. Once this threshold is reached, the membrane potential is then reset, allowing the process to start again. Model Simulation and Graphs In creating the leaky integrate and fire model, using the information given, such as the parameters and threshold we created an if statement within a for loop (see Appendix A for complete code). The code was set with parameters 푅 and 휏 equal to one and 퐼0 equal to two. Setting the step size to .01 and calling for 600 steps, the code was able to produce eleven spikes. The code provides a for loop which takes the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. India s Influence On India India is a well known country that is located in Southern Asia, between Burma and Pakistan while bordered by the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal. Distinguished with a long history, it is known that the north western Aryan tribes came to settle with the Dravidian tribe during 1500 B. Even as a growing partner to various thriving countries, they are still at the top of the pyramid. The first area of interest is the political structure of this country. Great Britain had control over India for some time until 15th August, 1947 when they gained independence. Almost three years later when the Constitution of India came into effect and, therefore, India became a Republic on 26th January, 1950. India is the largest practising democracy in the world, with elections at every level based on universal adult suffrage. General elections are normally held every 5 years. Today, the Union of India comprises 29 states and 6 union territories with the Central Government at New Delhi, the capital of the country. The Schlieffen Plan was an operational plan for an attack on France and Russia. Schlieffen advised the Kaiser that the plan should be implemented by 1916, as Germany would be strong enough for a victory by then. The final version of The Plan was built around classic military strategy. Thirty four divisions, supported by heavy artillery, would invade Belgium, advance an attack on France from the northern Ardennes into the city of Lille. Schlieffen expected the Belgians not to resist, to simply let them pass through, or, if they fought, to be quickly defeated. A smaller force ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The wind was blowing so hard like someone was giving me a sign not to go in but I did. When I went in the the apartment there was a sign that said beware in red colors. My brother and his friends when into a room with burnt doll heads. Then, when we left the room of the apartment a powerful wind blew in and we heard a door shut and glass break. At that point, me my brother and his friends bolted out of the room, out of the apartment and into the car. The next day me and my brother went to a religious area to not be scared anymore. My day transformed good to scary in a matter of a snap. Transformation can create fear. Transformation can be seen in these three stories as well. Also the father and the mother were fine with each other until the stranger showed up and now made the father and the mother to fight about the problem they had. The Kneeling Protest Is the Kneeling Protest Needed or Disrespectful Professional athletes protesting the National Anthem has sparked controversy among American citizens causing a massive debate as to whether or not this protest is a disrespectful protest or a protest that is greatly needed in America. In my eyes, NFL players protesting the National Anthem is needed as the unity and equality that the National Anthem stands for is nonexistent. I stand with the NFL players protesting the National Anthem and I will tell you why. Colin Kaepernick, the NFL player who started to kneel, is protesting the National Anthem because he believes that the police brutality here in America is unconstitutional and I agree with him. Police officers are brutally murdering unarmed African Americans without due process. These police officers aren t providing these now dead men and women any chance to prove themselves innocent in a court. Amendment 14 which states Equal protection under the law is being completely violated by police officers yet no one is doing anything to stop them. Between 2005 to April 2017, CNN states that only 80 officers were convicted for murder or manslaughter, yet an estimated amount of 1000 police shootings occur yearly here in the United States. This means for every 150 police shootings, 1 police officer was convicted of murder. The 150 to 1 ratio is just way too high and calls for a change. It was, and still is, one of the most controversial decisions the Supreme Court has ever made. Abortion is defined the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo before it can survive outside the uterus . The appellant was a single, pregnant woman from Texas who wished to get an abortion. Prior to the court s decision, abortion was illegal under Texas state law except in cases where the abortion would save the pregnant woman s life. The appellee was Henry Wade, a lawyer defending the Texas state law. The court ruled on the side of Roe, with a 7 2 decision. Another reason abortion was previously prohibited was because the procedure was a hazardous one for the woman (544). They explained that abortion was now relatively safe , and that mortality rates for women undergoing early abortions, where the procedure is legal, appear to be as low as or lower than the rates of normal childbirth (544). When abortion is prohibited, women seeking abortions sometimes tend to undergo illegal abortions, which are extremely unsafe. Ivan The Terrible earned his name through his unstable personality, containing bloodlust, paranoia and violent outbursts that would ultimately hurt his own country. On his deathbed, the Grand Prince of Moscow, Vasily III, told his wife, Princess Elena Glinskaya, that his first son, Ivan IV, would inherit the throne after he dies and she would serve as regent until he came of age, since he was three at the time. Some theatrical conventions have remained the same, while others have changed. Consequently, Stolen Shakespeare Guild performance of She Stoops to Conquer strays from the original production. One similarity in the plays is the use of female actors. This play first premiered in London in 1773. During this time women actually played female roles unless it was a role such as a witch or a comic old women. Women even got the chance to play male roles especially if the character was a female pretending to be a male (britches parts) , or if the character was a feminine male. Women being on stage was such a big deal that some productions would advertise having all the parts played by women. In the version, I saw of She stoops to Conquer women were playing the women roles. Much like Heraclitus and his views that orderly change is brought about by the logos , Empedocles also recognized that there was a force responsible for the change brought about. Not until recently did we find that atoms, which were assumed to be matter s basic particles, where themselves made up of even smaller particles. So in that sense, Anaximander is correct in his philosophy of there being a pure substance , which is the root of everything that we see. Heraclitus and Parmenides both recognized that the materials which make up the universe could be broken down to one basic substance, but they came to disagreement over what that basic substance was exactly, as well as the state of being. Heraclitus believed that everything was fire (or made of fire), and that it was the fundamental source of change in the universe because a main property of the universe was that it was in a constant state of changing. Parmenides argued that the entire idea of change was impossible and that the universe was essentially unmoving and unchanging. The other is based upon reasonable use. A person can use the water if it is reasonable for the purpose of his needs. This is based on case by case usage. Prior appropriation water rights gives the right of the water to whoever claimed the land by it first. The person with seniority has right to use as much water as wanted. The best policy is the riparian water rights. Both systems fair for each person who owns the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Matthews and his family then moved two years later to Westchester County, New York, where his dad went to work for IBM. Then, in the early `70s, Matthews and his family moved to Cambridge, England, before returning to New York. It was in Cambridge where Matthews dad died in 1977 from Hodgkin s disease. After his father s death, the family moved back to South Africa in 1980. The only option for Matthews was to find the best musicians around and surround him with them. The Dave Matthews Band formed in Charlottesville, Virginia, in early 1991, when Matthews decided to put some songs he had written on tape. Instead of simply recording himself with a guitar, he instead decided to bring in some instrumental help to give his musical ideas more depth. His first move was finding the right people to play the parts in his band that he decided fit. He began his search and formed the racially integrated band that is now known worldwide and are continuously ranked in the top five for the largest grossing concert tours of the year. The key roles were soon filled by phenomenal musicians in the area. Dave found assistance in drummer Carter Beauford and saxophonist LeRoi Moore who were both accomplished jazz musicians in the local Charlottesville music scene. Based on the recommendation of distinguished local jazz guru John D earth, 16 year old musical prodigy Stefan Lessard came on board to play bass. Completing the band was keyboard player Peter Griesar, who left the band after a couple of years, as well as the talented and classically trained violinist, Boyd Tinsley The band was finally formed, and they played their first official ... • 28. Analysis Of My MistressEyes Are Nothing Like The Sun My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun... is a sonnet written by William Shakespeare and is also known as Sonnet 130. He wrote this poem to mock the conventional Petrarchan love sonnets which are about women who have unattainable beauty. This poem is written in the Shakespearean sonnet format which consists of a total 14 lines with the first 12 lines divided into three quatrains, and the last two lines make up a couplet. The quatrains establish the motif or problem of the poem while the ending couplet explains or resolves the previous lines. Sonnet 130 is a long conceit where the speaker of the poem goes through a long list of comparisons that seem like insults. The speaker uses juxtaposition to show that his love for his mistress is strong by describing her in a blunt way that seems insulting on the surface, but he reveals in the end he loves her even though she is flawed. In the first quatrain of My mistress eyes are nothing like the sun... , the speaker is already showing that this is not an ordinary love poem. He says, my mistress eyes are nothing like the sun (line 1). This metaphor depicts that the woman does not have bright eyes. Most poets would use a cliché to describe a woman s eyes as bright or like sapphires, but the speaker is saying there is nothing special about her eyes. Next, the speaker describes the woman s lips. The color coral is slightly orange, but he believes coral is more red than her lips. Also, most poets would describe their subjects to have bright, shiny red lips (2). In these two lines, the speaker compares his mistress to things found in nature, and many people associate beauty with nature. However, that is not the case with this poem. He describes her as the complete opposite. In line 3, the woman s skin is described as gray which makes it seem like her skin is dull. In Shakespeare s time, pale skin was more desirable, and since she does not have a pale complexion, it would make her less attractive. The speaker then compares her hair to wire in this line: If hairs be wires, black wires grow on her head (4). A beautiful woman is usually described as having silky locks. That is the opposite in this poem. This comparison depicts the woman to have hair that lacks ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 29. Biography Of Irving Penn And Diane Arbus Before photography was considered a medium of personal art, it was used for the sole purpose of portraiture. Carte de visites, daguerreotypes, and even tintypes were all used as a way to convey a person s physical appearance into a print. As camera technology evolved, so to did the way photographers take portraits. It skipped from a stale faced man behind a backdrop to colorful and interesting photographs taken of people from all walks of life. Three of the innovators of modern portraiture are Robert Mapplethorpe, Irving Penn and Diane Arbus. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The style of his portraits adds to and even sometimes surpasses the fashion shown. While Penn shot for vogue, he also strayed away from fashion some of the time to focus on influential figures with the same style of the fashion portraits he took in the past. A series of his that is very influential is his corner portraits from the late 1940s, where he took portraits of different individuals all standing in a very claustrophobic corner, almost making them seem less important than their influence states. Some examples of this include portraits of Marchel Duchamp and Georgie O Keeffe: Two very prominent painters are photographed cut off from the work of art, seemingly stuck in a gray walled room with no artistic fervor anywhere to be seen. The photographs are bleak, but offer a sense of distance from the audience, enough to show these famous individuals as humans. Penn creates beauty through humanity, with or without the help of fashion his portraits convey truly an unhinged reality of fashion and art, unseen by the general public. Robert Mapplethorpe s portraits are probably the most dissimilar from Irving Penn s in terms of style and subject, but his photographs use the same ideas of beauty. According to the U.S. Census Bureau: A family includes a householder and one or more people living in the same household who are related to the householder by birth, marriage, or adoption. All people in a household who are related to the householder are regarded as members of his or her family. City Lights Natalie Dougherty ENGL 102 013 Dr. Leitch Feb. 18, 2009 Thematic Meaning in City Lights In order for art to be successful, despite the category of its expression, one thing is necessary; a connection between the piece and its audience that can transcend time and space. If a song, film, poem, novel, play or painting possesses the ability to touch audiences of any era or culture, then it is truly successful. Notable movements of artwork are associated with the time in which they were produced. For example, rock and roll music is associated with the 1960s and the 1970s; impressionist painting with the late 1800s; romantic poetry with the late 1700s to early 1800s; film noir with the 1940s to 1950s. Chaplin further illustrates his thematic message through more involved situations than his initial ones of simple comedic delivery. The millionaire jumps into the water believing that he is committing suicide, but the noose is on the tramp so the tramp falls in instead. The tramp s encounters with the flower girl leave her with the wrong impression of him; she believes he is a rich man. During the boxing match, the tramp believes his coach is the flower girl. The tramp s opponent in the match also punches the referee in the midst of the chaotic fight, mistaking him for the tramp. The police and butler wrongly accuse the tramp of burglary, even though the millionaire actually gave the tramp the money. The increased drama surrounding these situations takes the delivery of the thematic message that things are not always what they seem to be the next level. The final and most significant delivery of the meaning of Chaplin s film is given during the last scene. The audience sees that the flower girl now has her own flower shop, thanks to the kindness of the tramp. She is no longer blind, and now can truly see the world for what it is, thanks to the operation that the tramp s generosity gave her. Even with the knowledge that human error, internal and external factors can, do, and will affect the outcome of any given task, individuals strive towards creating environments in which risk levels can be safely and satisfactorily managed by facing those threats head on. There is a lesson behind each disappointment or negative outcome that leads us to a greater understanding of and appreciation for our surroundings. More importantly, this newfound knowledge and experience contribute to the evolution of safer, more manageable systems that are capable of anticipating future threats to any given environment. This type of learning is especially beneficial in the aviation industry. Without a true appreciation of the costly mistakes that have forever changed the face of the industry, aviation would neither have evolved into the safest mode of transportation in the world, nor would it be as rich in technological and human behavioral resources. We ve spent the last years in aviation focusing on increasing safety by trying to perfect the aircraft only to learn, as Wilbur Wright stated, [that] the safety of the operator is more important than any other point. Greater prudence is needed rather than greater skill. Wright suggests that it is not a measure of technology or individual crewmember capabilities, rather the issue at the center of aviation is the lack of caution and preparation that exists within the cabin. In an article by Adam Turner, titled Smart technology may make your home a net target , Turner explains the dangers of using smart home devices. How do these dangers affect smart home technology? To explain the issues, Turner relays the knowledge of AVG security adviser Michael McKinnon. Mckinnon claims that people use most of these devices to access files remotely, giving hackers the opportunity to breach them. After a hacker gains access to a home s internal network, they can then collect passwords and financial information (Turner 1). The essence of Turner s argument is that by using internet connected smart home technology, hackers have an easier means of accessing sensitive information. However, as home technology advances, security measures are advancing as well. Michael Passingham s article titled The Norton Core is a crazy looking, ultra secure router presents a new line of defense against home hackers.
