Heritage Speech Reflection
Heritage Speech reflection
My dependable dad, for my heritage speech I spoke about my dad. I shared on February sixth how he
shows his dedication to both his job and family along with some past memories we ve shared together
and advice he has taught me. Before I shared my speech I was very nervous because I m know as the
shy girl that never raises her hand even if she knows the answer. Although I was confident I knew my
speech and practiced it many times so I knew there shouldn t be anything to be scared of. My speech
had some positives, one of which was the fact that I used the SA walking method, made eye contact
throughout and showed some emotion like laughing or smiling at the past funny stories. My structure
was good and the transitions

An Argument Against Involuntary Hospitalization
What is a mental illness? Mental illnesses are disturbed thoughts, feelings, and moods that affect
people s daily functioning. Being hospitalized for having a mental illness is categorized as voluntary
or involuntary where voluntary hospitalization is agreeing to be admitted to the hospital for treatment;
while involuntary hospitalization is against a person s will when he or she is harmful to him or her self
or others (NAMI). The issue with involuntary hospitalization is that is it permissible to admit someone
to the hospital against his or her will. For instance, in a suicide case, those who agree to involuntary
hospitalization would argue that it is a way to uphold the right to self determination and an action to

In order for an action to be right in act utilitarianism, one must maximize the pleasures and pain as
well as happiness of self and others. While in rule utilitarianism, an act is right if and only if it
conforms to a set of rules and everyone would maximize the overall utility.
In the case of a patient who is mentally ill, rule utilitarianism best describe why hospitalizing the
patient against his or her will should be allowed. Before admitting the patient, he or she must meet a
set of criteria that the state created. For California, some criteria include refusal of receiving treatment
when advised by the doctor, ideations of harming self or others and being mentally incompetent
(Involuntary). Through observations from personal clinical experiences, many patients who were
admitted fitted these criteria as some are harm risk, while others were mentally incompetent.
In addition, everyone would maximize the overall utility as it allows mentally ill patients to get the
treatment they need to live as well as prevent harm to themselves and others as this creates maximum
utility for everyone. If calculated, there would be more pleasures of feeling better and safe than pain of
possible restrains or taking medications. For instance, for a suicidal patient, he or she

Deranged Lunatic Narrative
The deranged lunatic
It was a typical morning, calm, peaceful, birds chirping, a beautiful sky and the forest next to my
house was overflowing with life. It was my usual day, I was walking through the forest to my job at
the lumber yard, I usually don t like to work hard, but I needed a job and and in my small town the
lumber yard was one of the only jobs that were hiring. I was listening on my iPod to some music, then
I heard something peculiar, to me it sounded like a pair of footsteps and some leaves rustling on the
trail in the forest, but I wasn t sure if it was part of the music, but I called out anyways.
Hello, is somebody there? I called out, not expecting a reply.
Hmm, must have been the wind or my music, I murmured to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

When we arrived we showed everyone we saw the strange mask, the more we showed it to the other
workers, and the more we scrutinized the mask, the more petrified we were to walk through the woods
at the end of the day.
Yep, that s a creepy mask, a worker at the yard said, I don t know why or how that was found there,no
one but you uses that path since it s out of the way for most people.
The more our colleagues talked about the woods being isolated and finding a mask there bizarre, the
more our guts twisted with pure terror of going back into the woods. At the end of the day when it was
time to gather our things and go home for some rest me and Jonathan armed ourselves with weapons
such as baseball bats, and shovels. On our way home, we saw a hazy figure where we found the mask.
You have my face... the same eerie voice we heard before said.
Hearing the voice again struck me with terror and fear for my life. I tried to run, however I was
petrified. I looked over to Jonathan and to my surprise, he was petrified on the spot too.
You have my face, the voice repeated sinisterly, can I have it

Language as a Tool in Maya Angelou s...
In Maya Angelou s Essay `Graduation the use of language as a navigational tool is very evident, as it
leads from emotion to emotion on the occasion of the author s graduation from eighth grade. Over the
course of the work, Angelou displays 3 major emotions simply based from the language she uses;
excitement, disappointment and finally, redemption The beginning of this work focuses on speaking of
excitement and joy due to the upcoming eighth grade graduation, The children in Stamps trembled

Catherine The Great s Reign
Catherine the Great is recognised world wide as one of the most prominent and successful historical
rulers of Russia. Catherine ll, Empress of Russia, is remembered in the majority, as an incredible
leader of her time; with full entitlement of the title The Great . The term or title of The Great was
given to rulers of the past by themselves or their countrymen, due to significant achievements or
victories during their time of reign. The term Great has multiple meanings but in regards to leadership
it means eminent, distinguished, a great leader to an extreme or notable degree . Catherine the Great s
reign saw her as one of the longest serving leaders, extending from 1762 to1796. With the title of

Upon her arrival Catherine rapidly consumed the Russian culture, mastering the customs and the
history of the empire. Empress Elizabeth s death in December 25, 1761, saw Catherine s husband
ascend the throne and named Peter III. After only six months, Peter was overthrown in a coup
allegedly orchestrated by Catherine. The exact role Catherine played in her husband s death has been
widely debated. Early in her reign as attempt to be acknowledged favourably she returned the church s
land and property. It is believed that Catherine even styled herself after her hero the beloved ruler
Peter the Great, claiming that she was following in his footsteps.
In 1762 Russia presented immediate concerns to Catherine the Great, with her nation being viewed as
backward and provincial by many in Europe. She set out to alter this negative outlook with
progression in the areas of education and the arts. The Smolny Convert was established under
Catherine the Great as a boarding school to educate young ladies; very proud of this achievement she
exchanged letters with French writer Voltaire ... These young ladies I confess far surpass our
expectations. They make astonishing progress... . After the positive outcomes of her school, Catherine
the Great called for free schools to be created in towns across Russia. A lover of reading and writing,
Catherine was especially fond of the philosophers and

Onka s Big Maka Research Paper
What is a family? How are families shaped and what effect do they have on society? In the United
States a family consists of both parents, one s self, siblings (biological or adoptive) and extended
family members; however, this is not the case around the world. The concept of family and who is
family changes in each culture, but is mostly centered around who is kin and who a person marries.
Family, kin, and marriage are established through how society decides their lineage, which establishes
cultural rituals within the society.
Family, kin, and marriage lies are established by the type of descent system the society uses. Descent
is traced kinship relationships through parents. The concept of family, kin, and marriage strive to and

For the Baka, infidelity or having more than one wife can cause problems in the family. For other
societies, like the Trobriand Islanders and the traditional rural Chinese towns, disrupting the family s
lineage can destroy family relations. In the movie, Duka s Dilemma, the crew follows a woman named
Duka as she deals with her husband marrying a second woman who is younger and more beautiful
than she is. In Baka culture polygyny (a man has multiple wives) is an accepted marriage practice
because the more wives a man has the more prestige they have. However, polygyny is rare as this
practice can cause tensions to rise between the first wife, husband, and second wife.In the Trobriand
Islands not continuing the matrilineage is dishonorable as the main focus of the family is to keep up
the family s matrilineal influence in society (Robbins, Dowty 209). The most important thing to the
Trobriand Islanders is keeping the matrilineage going as it is a way to pay respect to their ancestors as

Siddhartha Themes
The novel Siddhartha by Herman Hesse has many major themes throughout the book. These themes
include love, success, desire, wisdom and many more. Hesse uses spirituality and religion to bring
these themes to the forefront and focuses on how finding yourself spiritually will help to reach
Nirvana. Most of the themes throughout the book are very important to the characters and the plot, but
the main character, Siddhartha, realizes that most of all, wisdom is the most important thing a person
can achieve. On page six, Siddhartha contemplates, But where were the Brahmans, where the priests,
where the wise men of penitents, who had succeeded in not just knowing this deepest of all knowledge
but also to live it? This quote shows that knowledge is not only something that can be learned in a
classroom or reading a book, but knowledge is something earned through experience. Knowledge
through experience is known as wisdom to Siddhartha. Because the book takes place over almost all
of Siddhartha s life, the reader is able to see the gain in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Wisdom is knowledge gained through experience. Wisdom is not expressible. Wisdom, when a wise
man tries to express it, always sounds like foolishness. Knowledge can be expressed, but not wisdom.
One can discover it, one can live it, one can be borne along by it, one can do miracles with it, but one
cannot express it and teach it. (Page 110) I completely agree with this teaching, because even through
the short life I have lived, I have learned things through experience that one could never learn form
being told. Just thinking about what I have learned in my life so far brings up many questions on what
I have yet to learn. I know I will learn about many other things, but what will I learn about myself?
What will I learn about my faith? These are just a couple questions that can only be answered through

Social Media Platform Twitter
As such, for a game that may seek to reach an audience beyond the people that understand the
meaning of the logo, it is important to design a logo that cuts across different languages. On the other
hand, in South Africa, where this application was primarily created for, the logo would easily
understood and convey the message of the game because it is in the local dialect. Also, since the game
is originally a traditional Southern African board game that is played, the text used as the logo is easily
understood in their environment. I would conclude that the application would have been more intuitive
if it had an icon since its target was for different countries aside South Africa. Twitter is a native
application that also runs on the android platform. Twitter is a social media networking application for
friends, family and coworkers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick,
frequent messages. The twitter application was designed with an icon. This design from my
perspective has its pros and cons. I would say the first view made me think it was a game with birds.
This is why I think an icon used in this perspective was not the right choice. On the other hand, using
a text in the scenario which is likely to be a styled way of writing Twitter would not be the best design
either. However, since the name Twitter is a bird that gives a call consisting of repeated light
tremulous sounds, it is easier to understand why the logo is a bird.

A Letter To A Little Princess
To the Little Princess: This is an open letter to my favorite friend, Sara Crewe, the best princess
forever. My little princess, you are the lighthouse of hope above the dark ocean of hardship; beside,
you are my admired girl who taught me how to get through the plight and predicament on myself
during my childhood. Your unfettered imaginations, positive attitudes, and mighty adversity quotient
all are lessons enlightened me so much till now. Therefore, I usually call you a butterfly against
flowing wind , that a pretty and seemingly weak butterfly with incredible power. To speak specifically,
Sara, you have an unlimited and unfettered visions wherever you are; also, you always keep your
sunny, positive outlooks whatever you are. And, I love all your imaginations whenever I am. Without
a princess suit, or the crown, you are a special one in the school. More than a so called princess, you
are a real princess cause you have a powerful heart. You knew the hardship, or exclusion from the
peer, but you never thought they are the most relentless enemies in your life; you even felt the sorrow
of losing your dear papa, however you never considered that would beat you; then you suffered the
falling difference from a popular girl at school to a unfed worker, however you never forgot you were
a princess. I love your speaking: Whatever comes cannot alter one thing. If I am a princess in rags and

The Smarter Generation Is Not The Dumbest Generation
The dumbest generation is not the Millennials. Indeed this generation is smarter than previous
generations because of better technology, and better learning of new vocabulary on everything that we
watch and play as on video games, TV shows, we are always learning new stuff every time. New
generation s also have proof that we are more intelligent in test that people have taken to compare
older IQ levels and newer generations IQ levels. There can be some proof that this generation is
getting lazier and learning is lacking and we always depend more on our phone, but in my opinion we
are still the smartest generation yet. Is this generation the dumbest yet to come? No. people do not
think the Millennials are the dumbest generation in fact, this generation is thought to be smarter than
previous generations. Millennials have so many things that this generation has improved that has also
made millennials smarter, everything they do makes them smarter each time just like playing video
games which you always remember on how to pass a mission, which you remember that last time you
died when you made a wrong move so obviously next time you won t go through that spot or you won
t do the same act that got you killed in your other game life. Newer generations also have proof to tell
the older generations that they are smarter because of proof that we have better IQ levels than the
older generation, yes older generations can say that this new generation may be dumber, but they just
have opinions not facts at all, but us, we have facts that we are smarter. IQ score have been on the rise
since 1930s (B, Begley). With this evidence it is more valuable than any of Bauerlein s claims because
they are just his opinions against actual evidence that has been tested by scientist to actually approve
that we are getting smarter. Also video games have helped us a lot in improving our skills and better
competitivity to learn/win.
Did video games ever sound so learnful to parents? You may guess not, but actually video games help
us on our learning of everyday. Video games do not look like a learning factor for some people, but
actually video games have helped lots of kids learn new vocabulary words that are simple used in the

One of the major themes portrayed in the book is theme of the possibility of resurrection. It is
interpreted literally and/or figuratively. One example is from the first book titled, Recalled to Life ,
which talked about saving Lucie Manette s dad, Dr. Alexander Manette, from the Bastille that he was
kept in for eighteen years. Dr. Manette used to have a happy and peaceful life, but when he was
imprisoned, he became mentally ill. However, when Lucie entered his life, he gradually went back to

A keyword (hashtag) used tweets
The best way to separate a tweet s topic into categories and to search for other tweets about these
topics is to use a hashtag. It is necessary to put the pound sign (#) before the word or phrase without
using any spaces or punctuation to create a hashtag. When a hashtag is tweeted, it automatically
becomes a clickable link that if somebody clicks on that, he is directed to a page which includes all the
most recent tweets that contain that specific hashtag. For example, if #newcastleUniversity or
#NewcastleUniversity is typed in the search box at the top of the Twitter page, all tweets under the
newcastleuniversity title are displayed because there is no case sensitivity.
A tweet about using keyword (hashtag) is shown in Figure 17.

Users can add a general location information, such as Istanbul, Newcastle Upon Tyne, to their tweets

Implications And Consequences Of Foster Care In America
Foster Care Many children who are placed in foster care are typical are either victims of child abuse
and neglect, parents who unfortunally can t care for them permanently or temporary, or just children
whom were abandoned. Foster care is defined as, a system in which a minor has been placed into a
ward, group home, or private home of a state certified caregiver, referred to as a foster parent . The
placement of the child is normally arranged through the government or a social service agency. Foster
Care has been around ever since the nineteenth century, but wasn t really publicized as it should have
been because American ideal vision of a family during the time was nuclear family (which consist of
mother, father, children) but over the past decade things have changed and foster care is also shaping
that view also. Social policy tends to ignore what they don t publicize. Children of immigrants were
often out on the street looking for work. They were sent on orphan trains and sent out west. Back in
the 1800s, no one talked about any sexual abuse children might have suffered on their journey out
west. Some of the slight problems in the early system were addressed, but the cause of the system still
existed. Some disadvantages of foster care is youth who enter the service have complicated, serious

From the interview with Ms. Lim, the managerial will rank their employees according to their relative
level of performance. The employees will be call upon into the office by their own manager or even

Non-Surgical Hair Replacement Pros And Cons
If you are a man and have already lost a large portion of the hair on your head, then you may just not
feel like yourself anymore. While others may tell you that you still look attractive with less hair, in the
end, it is how you feel about your own appearance that counts. If you just don t like how you look now
that you have hair loss, then there are several ways that you can obtain a full head of hair and finally
feel like yourself again. Here are two quick options and their pros and cons.
1. Surgical Hair Replacement
Surgical hair replacement is a medical procedure where a surgeon first cuts off a strip of your scalp
from an area where hair is still abundant. The surgeon then takes donor active hair follicles from the
strip of hair and transplants them to areas of your scalp where hair no longer grows on its own. This
technique is often called a hair transplant .

Nonsurgical Hair Replacement
While there have been non surgical ways to replace hair for a while, such as toupees or hair growth
medications, none lasted long or were proven to work very well. However, true non surgical hair
replacement is a great technique to replace your hair that is relatively affordable and works.
Nonsurgical hair replacement first involves a custom made hair system being produced for you. This
system is made of a a polymer and/or mesh base that is measured to fit your scalp perfectly. Polymer
bases are more durable and less expensive, but mesh ones keep your scalp cooler, so this decision can
be a tough one.
Then, human or synthetic hair is chosen to match your natural hair perfectly. Human hair is the most
natural looking and feeling, but today s synthetic hair can also look and feel very natural when made
well. Synthetic hair is more affordable than human hair. The hair is then attached to the base made for
your scalp in a very natural pattern to mimic how your original hair looked, and the base can then be
adhered to your scalp by you or a

The American Educational System and Its Slippery Slope Essay
There is one thing that is universally sought after in this world, regardless of race, ethnicity, age,
location, and upbringing. There is one thing that every single human being hungrily craves. There is
one thing that can make the potential difference between a life of abject poverty or comfortable
prosperity: knowledge. The human mind s thirst for knowledge can never be fully quenched, and it is
always left wanting more; although, this isn t necessarily a detrimental thing. Many different and

Since both the United States and Japan have very contrasting styles of education, many different
outcomes arise from each of these styles. For instance, since the educational system of Japan is so
strict and structured, students are gradually chiseled into very responsible and disciplined individuals
who are very skilled when it comes to things such as standardized tests; however, much is unseen
about this transformational process to the American eye. In Kyoko Mori s essay School, her firsthand
experience of the Japanese educational system is shared. She states that You can never question the
authority of the teacher, whom you address simply as sensei, literally, one whose life comes first ...
The teacher is like the biblical God, whom you cannot name (Mori 136). When authority cannot be
questioned and is to be treated like God, how are students expected to comprehend every detail taught
by their instructor? If the students can t quite grasp an idea, how are they supposed to completely
master it without the aid of their so called godly instructors? The Japanese answer to this solution is
simple: Memorization and repeated practice (Mori 132). In Japan, students are drilled into the ground
by constant memorization and repeated practice, and without the aid of their teachers, they have to
claw their way up a mountain to acquire every single answer.

Middle School Athletics Staffing Essay
Middle School Athletics Staffing
In the business world, each year is different from the other, same goes for the academic division. It is a
fact that people come and people go for all types of reasons. Change is forever arising, sometimes for
the better or worse. Within the middle school athletics level there are 13 Athletic Directors (AD)
positions and 160 or more coaching positions, dependent on each teams participation. AD s and
coaches are paid employees of the district. The AD s supervise the coaches at their individual school
buildings or act as a sports liaison within their assigned school. The coaches simply coach. Many of
our coaches have experience in the sport they are coaching, but sometimes we need a warm body or
parent/volunteer to coach a team. In the area of Athletics you are always asked to work or volunteer
more than you get paid. In most cases if you put in 40 hours weeks then you are paid for 40 hours. In
athletics you may put in 40 hours and are only compensated 15 hours. The middle school AD position
is part time and pays 10 12 hours per week. So you can imagine the high turnover rate for AD s.

Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED)
This paper explores Intermittent Explosive Disorder (IED), a disorder categorized by the Diagnostic
and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders Fifth Edition (DSM 5) as an impulse control disorder. To
understand this disorder research was collected on predisposing factors that make an individual more
vulnerable to IED. Research was also collected on precipitating and perpetuating factors to explore
what factors trigger the disorder and subsequently prolong the symptoms. Finally, research was
collected on how the disorder is diagnosed and current treatment options for individuals diagnosed
with IED.

The optimal goal of treatment for patients with IED is remission, which is the resolution of symptoms
or improvement to the point where only one or two symptoms of mild intensity persist. If that goal is
unattainable a practical goal is stabilizing the safety of the patient and others as well as substantially
improving the number, intensity, and frequency of symptoms. To achieve these treatment goals studies
have shown the best treatment is a combination of medication and psychotherapy (Alpert Spillmann,
1997). The use of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) Fluoxetine has shown moderate to
large improvement in the reduction of impulsive aggressive behavior. The goal of the Fluoxetine is to
balance out the altered serotonin levels that are commonly altered in individuals with IED (Coccaro,
M.D., 2012). In addition to medication cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown to reduce
impulsive aggression, anger, and hostile automatic thoughts. The therapies used include relaxation
training, cognitive restructuring, and coping skills training. The rates of full remission from IED were
29% with fluoxetine alone and 33% from cognitive behavioral therapy alone. When combined the
treatments are more effective for sustained remission because they work through different mechanisms
(Coccaro, M.D., 2012). Studies have shown that IED symptoms precede the onset of other comorbid
disorders and are persistent and follow a chronic course of at least 12 years. Intervention at an early
age is most effective before development of comorbid disorders (Coccaro, M.D.,

Theories Of Discovering Periodic Trends
Discovering Periodic Trends Introduction For years, many scientists put together several different lists
of the elements based on theories about the properties of these elements but the first official periodic
table was assembled by Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869. Later, due to modern communication abilities,
scientists modified Mendeleev s periodic table to make it more organized and easier to understand.
The current version was organized in a way that scientists could easily identify trends like density,
melting/boiling points, ionization energy, electronegativity, and atomic mass. Experimental Data on
the properties of elements 1 through 36 were recorded and formatted on an Excel sheet. This data was
converted into a series of graphs in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They learned that the density of an element increase from top to bottom and inward towards the
transitions metals. They also learned that the boiling and melting point trends are similar in pattern
with the density trend. They learned that the ionization energy decreases top to bottom and increases
left to right. They also learned that the electronegativity trend is similar in pattern to the ionization
energy trend except it does not affect any of the noble gases except for Xeon. Lastly, they learned that
the atomic radius increases top to bottom and decreases left to right. This research lab is very reliable
because the sources where the information was gathered was credible and they all agreed with each
other. The information gained from this lab is of high significance because it is fundamental to the
understanding of all chemistry. Of course there were a lot of cases in which there were occasional
hiccups in the general periodic trends. These are due to the specific nature of those elements and it
might be a good idea next time to highlight those outlying values in a different color on the graph and
provide an explanation underneath as to why the highlighted element does not follow the rule of that

This is the real reason we have such an uneven distribution of wealth in this country. The positive
outcomes of the movement are that it increased the public s awareness about economic inequality.
(Occupy Wall Street Movement , 2012 ). It all started with a simple slogan We are the 99% that will
no longer tolerate the greed and corruption of the 1%. (Kroll, 2011). This movement increased
awareness among the of the public and was a huge step forward for creating equality in the America
(Occupy Wall Street, 2012). This movement will also bring changes in the political environment that
will reduce corruption in US. Increase number of jobs programs, welfare benefits, and rebuilding
infrastructure would be the outcome of this movement (Occupy Wall Street, 2012). It will also help
design the structural changes that will befit a capitalist society and to reduce the uneven wealth
distribution in our country (Kroll, 2011). I believe that the moment will continue to move forward and
has already influenced many cities worldwide. The most important aspect of the this movement was
the fact that people now saw first hand that they had the power to effect change (Longenecker, 2012).
The Occupy Wall Street Movement brought revolution in America and gave the entire world the
image that the people have the power to affect change. It brought attention to Americans about
corporate greed and economic equality. There were some distinct moral and ethical

The Theory Of The Social Contract Theory Essay
On the formation of the Social Contract Theory has a long history, many people have formed Social
Contract Theory has made a great contribution. Thomas Hobbes as one of the representatives of
Modern Social Contract Theory, his departure from the theory of human nature, to a fictional state of
nature as a starting point, put forward the basic principles of natural law, natural rights, and then
through the Social Contract Theory, the establishment of his country theory. Thomas Hobbes certain
extent, played a significant role, for people to bring enlightenment. But his theory does not apply in all
cases; we need to analyze different aspects of different problems. In this essay, I will describe the
Social Contract Theory, and explain the problem of how do we get out of the State of Nature raised by
Hobbes Game. I explain the idea of cooperation that Thomas Hobbes can give to this problem, and
then argue that this is not a satisfactory response to the problem for three reasons.
The main expression of the Social Contract Theory is to explore whether there is a legitimate political
authority, Man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains no. He said political authority in our natural
state does not exist, so we need a social contract in a social contract, everyone abandon natural
freedom, and obtain freedom of contract; in the process of political participation, only everyone
equally renounce all natural freedom, assigned to the collectivity, human beings can get equal

ABSTRACT
Shelf life of fruit was significantly enhanced with minimum ripening percentage, higher number of
healthy fruit percentage in Kesar mango having sp. gr. 1.00 (M3) fallowed by sp. gr. 1.00 1.02 (M2).
Wax coating 6 per cent (R3) was effective to increasing the shelf life of fruit, ripening days, healthy
fruit per cent and minimum ripening per cent. Soft rot diseases incidence was does not found in hot
water (R1) and bavistin (R2) treatments. A comparative study on the effect of low temperature storage
of fresh harvested mango stored at 150C (T1) and 200C (T2) was made with respect to physiological
changes. Not only delay the ripening percentage with ripening day, but also increase the healthy fruit

Summary Of The Cocktail Waitress
The Cocktail Waitress written by James P. Spradley and Brenda E. Mann is a 1975 classic. It studies in
depth and examines a familiar female role in contemporary American society. Its authors use
fieldwork methods to the study of social behavior in a college bar, as presented in the context of a
cocktail waitress. They describe the daily lives of women in details and the meaning of work in a man
s world. They provide a wealth of empirical data on the nature of being female in the society. The
book examines male female relationships as well as patterns of male dominance in social interactions.
It shows how these are connected to more general issues in anthropology. The objective presentation
of the waitress casts light on significant social issues

Debates On Global Warming
I. Global Warming: Fact or Fiction
A. Background of the debate on the perceived global warming phenomenon 1. Temperature increase
2. Disparity and the reasons why
B. Arguments for the perceived fact of human influence on global warming 1. The greenhouse effect
2. Global disaster C. Arguments that human influence on global warming is fictitious 1. Amount of
CO2 2. Natural reasons for global warming
One of the most longstanding and most passionately debated topics in the scientific community today
is based on conceptions of global warming. The one aspect that the scientific community seems to
agree on is the fact that since the mid to late 19th century, just prior to the Industrial Age, the earth has
increased its annual median temperature. Some scientific theories, however, state that this effect has
largely to do with humanity s propensity for burning fossil fuels, and speculate that this tendency will
wreak devastating consequences on the earth due to this fact. On the other side of the debate lies those
who state that these perceived effects of global warming is a hoax, as is the effect of humanity on the
earth s average median temperature, Proponents that claim global warming is a fact that is largely in
response to mankind s penchant for burning fossil fuels since the advent of the 20th century back up
this assertion by alluding to the greenhouse effect. According to this greenhouse theory, the fossil fuels
that are released into the earth s

Ans: 50%
2. How to apply Bayes s Theory to determine car insurance rates?
Ans : Models employed to determine car insurance rates include a mathematical function describing,
per unit of driving time, your personal probability of having zero, one, or more accidents. Consider,
for our purposes, a simplified model that places everyone in one of two categories: high risk, which
includes drivers who average at least one accident each year, and low risk, which includes drivers who
average less than one. If, when you apply for insurance, you have a driving record that stretches back
twenty years without an accident or one that goes back twenty years with thirty seven accidents, the
insurance company can be pretty sure which category to place you in. But if you are a new driver,
should you be classified as low risk

Animal Farm Totalitarianism
In George Orwell s classic novel, Animal Farm, Orwell uses symbolism to suggest that totalitarianistic
governments do not always last. Symbolism is the use of a person, place, thing, or idea to represent
something else. Because of how they run the farm and scare the animals into submission, Old Major,
Mr. Jones, and Napoleon are all characters in Animal Farm that symbolize totalitarianism. At the
beginning of the book, Old Major, a highly respected figure, had experienced a dream that he had
wanted to share with all of the other animals. Because Old Major was becoming old and was living
out the last of his days, the dream had prompted him to gather the animals in the big barn to relay the
dream immediately. He urged the animals to rebel against Mr. Jones and take control of the farm by
scaring them into action. No animal escapes the cruel knife in the end. (Orwell 9) he had stated. By
the end of his speech, the animals were angry and scared of how their lives would eventually end
according to Old Major. Not long after his speech Old Major died, but not without making the animals
fearful of what would happen if they did not respect his wishes. ... Show more content on

Jones, the alcoholic owner of Manor Farm, ran the farm in a similar fashion to Old Major. He scared
the animals into obeying by abusing them and neglecting them. The next moment he and his four men
were in the store shed with whips in their hands, lashing out in all directions. (Orwell 19). Mr. Jones
would forget to feed the animals and when they would attempt to get food, he would punish them with
whips. In turn, the animals would submit to him out of fear and Mr. Jones stayed in charge. That is
until they got fed up with the ill treatment and rebelled against Mr. Jones. The animals chased Mr.
Jones from the farm and once again got rid of

Before admitting the patient, he or she must meet a set of criteria that the state created. For California, some criteria include refusal of receiving treatment when advised by the doctor, ideations of harming self or others and being mentally incompetent (Involuntary). Through observations from personal clinical experiences, many patients who were admitted fitted these criteria as some are harm risk, while others were mentally incompetent. In addition, everyone would maximize the overall utility as it allows mentally ill patients to get the treatment they need to live as well as prevent harm to themselves and others as this creates maximum utility for everyone. Social Media Platform Twitter As such, for a game that may seek to reach an audience beyond the people that understand the meaning of the logo, it is important to design a logo that cuts across different languages. On the other hand, in South Africa, where this application was primarily created for, the logo would easily understood and convey the message of the game because it is in the local dialect. Also, since the game is originally a traditional Southern African board game that is played, the text used as the logo is easily understood in their environment. I would conclude that the application would have been more intuitive if it had an icon since its target was for different countries aside South Africa. Twitter is a native application that also runs on the android platform. Twitter is a social media networking application for friends, family and coworkers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent messages. The twitter application was designed with an icon. This design from my perspective has its pros and cons. I would say the first view made me think it was a game with birds. This is why I think an icon used in this perspective was not the right choice. On the other hand, using a text in the scenario which is likely to be a styled way of writing Twitter would not be the best design either. New generation s also have proof that we are more intelligent in test that people have taken to compare older IQ levels and newer generations IQ levels. There can be some proof that this generation is getting lazier and learning is lacking and we always depend more on our phone, but in my opinion we are still the smartest generation yet. Is this generation the dumbest yet to come? No. people do not think the Millennials are the dumbest generation in fact, this generation is thought to be smarter than previous generations. Millennials have so many things that this generation has improved that has also made millennials smarter, everything they do makes them smarter each time just like playing video games which you always remember on how to pass a mission, which you remember that last time you died when you made a wrong move so obviously next time you won t go through that spot or you won t do the same act that got you killed in your other game life. To achieve these treatment goals studies have shown the best treatment is a combination of medication and psychotherapy (Alpert Spillmann, 1997). The use of the selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) Fluoxetine has shown moderate to large improvement in the reduction of impulsive aggressive behavior. The goal of the Fluoxetine is to balance out the altered serotonin levels that are commonly altered in individuals with IED (Coccaro, M.D., 2012). In addition to medication cognitive behavioral therapy has been shown to reduce impulsive aggression, anger, and hostile automatic thoughts. The therapies used include relaxation training, cognitive restructuring, and coping skills training. The rates of full remission from IED were 29% with fluoxetine alone and 33% from cognitive behavioral therapy alone. When combined the treatments are more effective for sustained remission because they work through different mechanisms (Coccaro, M.D., 2012). Studies have shown that IED symptoms precede the onset of other comorbid disorders and are persistent and follow a chronic course of at least 12 years. Intervention at an early age is most effective before development of comorbid disorders (Coccaro, M.D., ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 24. Theories Of Discovering Periodic Trends Discovering Periodic Trends Introduction For years, many scientists put together several different lists of the elements based on theories about the properties of these elements but the first official periodic table was assembled by Dmitri Mendeleev in 1869. Later, due to modern communication abilities, scientists modified Mendeleev s periodic table to make it more organized and easier to understand. The current version was organized in a way that scientists could easily identify trends like density, melting/boiling points, ionization energy, electronegativity, and atomic mass. Experimental Data on the properties of elements 1 through 36 were recorded and formatted on an Excel sheet. This data was converted into a series of graphs in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... They learned that the density of an element increase from top to bottom and inward towards the transitions metals. They also learned that the boiling and melting point trends are similar in pattern with the density trend. They learned that the ionization energy decreases top to bottom and increases left to right. They also learned that the electronegativity trend is similar in pattern to the ionization energy trend except it does not affect any of the noble gases except for Xeon. Lastly, they learned that the atomic radius increases top to bottom and decreases left to right. This research lab is very reliable because the sources where the information was gathered was credible and they all agreed with each other. The information gained from this lab is of high significance because it is fundamental to the understanding of all chemistry. Of course there were a lot of cases in which there were occasional hiccups in the general periodic trends. These are due to the specific nature of those elements and it might be a good idea next time to highlight those outlying values in a different color on the graph and provide an explanation underneath as to why the highlighted element does not follow the rule of that specific ... • 26. The Theory Of The Social Contract Theory Essay On the formation of the Social Contract Theory has a long history, many people have formed Social Contract Theory has made a great contribution. Thomas Hobbes as one of the representatives of Modern Social Contract Theory, his departure from the theory of human nature, to a fictional state of nature as a starting point, put forward the basic principles of natural law, natural rights, and then through the Social Contract Theory, the establishment of his country theory. Thomas Hobbes certain extent, played a significant role, for people to bring enlightenment. But his theory does not apply in all cases; we need to analyze different aspects of different problems. In this essay, I will describe the Social Contract Theory, and explain the problem of how do we get out of the State of Nature raised by Hobbes Game. I explain the idea of cooperation that Thomas Hobbes can give to this problem, and then argue that this is not a satisfactory response to the problem for three reasons. The main expression of the Social Contract Theory is to explore whether there is a legitimate political authority, Man is born free, but everywhere he is in chains no. He said political authority in our natural state does not exist, so we need a social contract in a social contract, everyone abandon natural freedom, and obtain freedom of contract; in the process of political participation, only everyone equally renounce all natural freedom, assigned to the collectivity, human beings can get equal ... Natural reasons for global warming One of the most longstanding and most passionately debated topics in the scientific community today is based on conceptions of global warming. The one aspect that the scientific community seems to agree on is the fact that since the mid to late 19th century, just prior to the Industrial Age, the earth has increased its annual median temperature. Some scientific theories, however, state that this effect has largely to do with humanity s propensity for burning fossil fuels, and speculate that this tendency will wreak devastating consequences on the earth due to this fact. On the other side of the debate lies those who state that these perceived effects of global warming is a hoax, as is the effect of humanity on the earth s average median temperature, Proponents that claim global warming is a fact that is largely in response to mankind s penchant for burning fossil fuels since the advent of the 20th century back up this assertion by alluding to the greenhouse effect. Symbolism is the use of a person, place, thing, or idea to represent something else. Because of how they run the farm and scare the animals into submission, Old Major, Mr. Jones, and Napoleon are all characters in Animal Farm that symbolize totalitarianism. At the beginning of the book, Old Major, a highly respected figure, had experienced a dream that he had wanted to share with all of the other animals. Because Old Major was becoming old and was living out the last of his days, the dream had prompted him to gather the animals in the big barn to relay the dream immediately. He urged the animals to rebel against Mr. Jones and take control of the farm by scaring them into action. No animal escapes the cruel knife in the end. (Orwell 9) he had stated. By the end of his speech, the animals were angry and scared of how their lives would eventually end according to Old Major.
