Example Of Internal Medicine Personal Statement
Personal Statement
I remember entering medical school with the intention of pursuing internal medicine, a specialty that
would fulfill my desire to be a strong advocate for adults as well as associate physicians. I cannot even
begin to describe how overwhelming it is to see patients improve after methodically figuring out how
to nurse them back to health. Internal medicine will allow me to apply my knowledge and the
resources available, to figure out the problematic nature of diseases. The challenging array of diseases
and working with adults is the reason I am fond of internal medicine.
Coming across patients from varying economic, social and cultural backgrounds, and being
challenged by a wide range of conditions during my internal medicine

Individuals Need To Break Our Silence Rhetorical Analysis
I thought that this speech was very inspirational and had so much truth behind it. The concept of
conflict is very difficult but speaking up and being open about it can and will only solve it whether it
be positive or negative. I agree with Margret when she said that the truth won t set us free until we
develop the skills, the habit, the talent, and the moral courage to do it. We as individuals need to break
our silence. I feel like the speaker was trying to say go out of your way to voice your opinion in
simple settings. The more comfortable you become with your own voice and understanding that you
are an intelligent human being, it will be easier to do again. Practice voicing your opinion. If you are
proved wrong, you are only learning. If

The Pros And Cons Of The Chicago Bullss
When everyone thinks of the Chicago Bulls, they think of greatness. How could you not? The entire
decade of the 1990s was all about the Chicago Bulls. Their star player Michael Jordan was easily the
most popular athlete in the world, the franchise won 6 NBA championships in eight years, and they
were easily recognized as the greatest team ever, owning a then record 72 win season. They were at
the peak of their fame as easily the most recognized team in the world. However, Michael Jordan
called it quits after their sixth championship which began a long gradual decline for 20 years. In that
time, they have not won any championships or even appeared in the Finals. Now, we have the newest
edition of the team, the 2017 2018 Chicago Bulls. After trading three players with all star experience
before the season began, They left their team that is now a bunch of inexperienced players. Despite
claims that they are a young team that will get better, I believe that the Chicago Bulls are the worst
team in the NBA for now because of a lack of all star caliber players and their terrible in game
performances. One indication as to why the Chicago Bulls are the worst franchise in the NBA is their
in game performances so far in the season. A great way to find out the quality of the team is by
looking at their game statistics. Sadly, the Bulls rank usually at the bottom in most meaningful
statistics. One offensive statistic is called true shooting percentage. True shooting percentage is

Role of Women in Literature Essay
The Representation of Women in Literature
br
br The role of women in society is constantly questioned and for centuries women have struggled to
find their place in a world that is predominantly male oriented. Literature provides a window into the
lives, thoughts and actions of women during certain periods of time in a fictitious form, yet often
truthful in many ways. Ernest Hemmingway s Hills like White Elephants , D.H. Lawrence s The
Horse Dealers Daughter and William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily each paint a picture of a woman
who has failed to break away from her male companion, all describing a stereotypically dominated
woman. Through submissive natures, compliant attitudes, and shattered egos the three women each

Her side of the discussion is constantly exasperated as she convinces herself to believe everything he
says. Only at one point in the story does her character appear to think individually of his thoughts,
only to immediately retract when summoned. It is at this point in the story that Hemingway
symbolizes her chance for individually and then immediately showing her lack of. She steps into the
light, into herself and thinks freely on her own, only to fall back into what he wants her to believe. The

Bus Descriptive Speech
I had been dreading this day for four long months. My breathing got heavier with each step I took
approaching the bus. I walked down a long paved pathway, and saw the enormous bus that I had been
traveling in for the last two weeks, and I thought, What did I just get myself into? This is the day that I
would say goodbye to all of my friends and teachers I had been with for the past two weeks. I would
now be traveling in Germany without supervision. I climbed up the steps to the bus, and took a seat in
the same spot I had always sat in. The bus was fairly large from the outside, but the second you
stepped in, you realized that it was actually tiny. I sat down in my seat with my friends, and exchanged
a few words about the trip. The seats were covered in an ugly purple print, that looked like it had just
jumped out of the 80s. The bus had a clean smell, but was as hot as Africa in the summertime. I sat
down and remembered what my mother always told me when I was having anxiety. She would say,
Laura just breathe, everything will be okay. In this moment I had no clue how everything was going to
be okay. As the bus loudly started, we departed from the last youth hostel. I felt like I was going to
choke. The drive was about an hour and a half, but it felt like five minutes to me. I just sat in my seat
and panicked. From the moment I sat down, till the moment I stood up, I was shaking. I felt like I was
experiencing an earthquake, and there was nothing I could do. I could

Essay On Figure Board Application
As a child I dreamt of becoming a professional figure skater. My family and I made many sacrifices in
striving to attain this goal. I enrolled in home school and spent many early morning hours on the road
in pursuit of elusive ice time. All through elementary, junior and senior high school I pursued my
dream, but despite my best efforts and the best efforts of my support people, it was not to be. I once
had a favorite coach say to me you don t learn anything through winning but it is through losing that
you learn the most . I learned a lot. In retrospect, the important thing wasn t landing a double axel or
winning a gold medal, but having the ability to set goals, work hard, win with humility and lose with
grace. Setting goals, working ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did I meet new and exciting people of different backgrounds but I got the chance to explore
subjects I never thought I would. I found that I enjoyed furthering my education. I was pulled in every
direction with all the options available, theater, sociology, and political science just to name a few.
Deciding a career path was very difficult. As my graduation date neared I decided on pursuing a
degree in biology. Growing up in Alaska I loved the outdoors and I thought a career as a biologist
could be exciting. What I m thankful for now is that biology left the door open for me to pursue a
different path. After graduation I began exploring careers in the health field. This would combine my
love of sciences with my desire to be around and help people. Through volunteering and shadowing
different fields I stumbled into occupational therapy. I enjoyed the cognitive aspect of OT. I felt while
the diagnosis might be the same for a patient, their history and personal goals were different or there
were different ways to get to the same place. I enjoyed the direct one on one time spent with patient.

Music Festivals Vs. Rock N Roll Music
Back in the 1950 s the music industry was beginning to evolve in America, and its traditional roots
were beginning to diminish rapidly. At this time in American history, music was beginning to enter the
electronic era, in fact, the whole country was swiftly transitioning into a realm of advanced
technology. However, this foreign realm was not comforting to many people, especially to the adults
of this time. Likewise, in today s culture, youth and adults have different perspectives on the world
and often have conflicting views on certain aspects of society. In particular, music has had a major
influence on the lives of youths all around the world and has aided in igniting the everlasting feud of
kids vs. adults. Rock N Roll music was first ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
EDM music is often preformed at Music Festivals such as Tomorrowland, Electric Zoo, Euphoria,
Lightning in a Bottle, and Movement where large crowds of thousands of people between the ages of
16 25 gather to experience an almost euphoric escapade with fellow EDM music enthusiasts.
However, with this many teenagers in one place there tends to be a certain aspect of peer pressure
hanging over the patrons that attend these events. A severe drug problem has been associated with
EDM music festivals and has given a bad reputation to these events. In an article titled Drugs, Death
and Dance Music, there were two reported deaths of a University of New Hampshire student, Olivia
Rotondo, and a Syracuse University graduate, Jeffery Russ, which due to consuming synthetic
versions of Ecstasy at the Electric Zoo rave festival in New York (Knopper). Teenagers tend to take
these drugs in order to enhance their experience at these events or take them in order to fit in with the
crowd. What these teenagers do not understand is that theses drugs can effect peoples ability to make
decisions and can also alter reality. Drugs are a major problem in todays society and not only do the
actual drugs themselves pose a threat to the youth, but synthetic versions of these drugs can be even
more dangerous. Events such as EDM festivals, have become havens for these types of drugs and
society often associates EDM with drugs because of the abundant use of them during the events. EDM
enhances the already prominent drug problem in society and is not helping today s teenagers realize
the effects drugs and narcotics can have on their

U.s. Dprk, Nuclear Weapons, And Violation Of Human Rights
Summary This briefing will address the necessities of United Nations to pressure the Democratic
People of the Republic Korea, also known as North Korea, by adding sanction to the country. As a
hegemonic state, the United States is a significant state to play a role as the leader to enforce DPRK to
withdraw itself from the threat of the global security and morality. DPRK had broken many
regulations of the UN treaties on militarization, nuclear activities, and violation of human rights.
Although the US is one the countries that has the most stock of nuclear weapons , it is aware of its
destructiveness and vulnerability more than any country that hold nuclear weapons today. After
continuous negotiations to suspend its conductivity of nuclear activities, DPRK had repeatedly
engaged and disengaged its pursuit for a nuclear reform. Should the U.S. violate DPRK sovereignty
and prioritize world peace and order? As an established great militarily powerful state, the United
States must persuade the UN to keep adding sanctions against the DPRK. Background Korea as One It
is necessary to know the process of how Democratic People of the Republic of Korea was established
and how its brutality and thirst for power became unmanageable. DPRK was not a demonic state since
birth. It was once an empire with both the North and South, together with a connected peninsula.
However, once imperialism and colonialism took its full throttle between the industrial states, Korea

Maryland Crime
Crimes are happening everyday in our lives and there is no way of predicting when and what can
happen to us, though we could be more careful and prevent it from happening. Baltimore, Maryland is
a very segregated city between poor vs. rich, police vs. community, and black vs. white. Baltimore has
one of the highest rates in the United States with more than half of the population beings blacks.
Violence is the use of physical force to harm someone (qt. Merriam Webster ). There are different
types of violence: homicide, gangs, abuse, and even destruction of property. Homicide is the act of
killing another human being, this can happen due to gun violence, a threat, and is mostly common
among African Americans, and youths from other cultures. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Being that Baltimore is segregated, a study from Harvard shows that Baltimore is the worst large city
in the country when measure by a child s chances of escaping poverty (qt. How Racism ). This can
increase the number of crimes that might happen in the future; In the past year the amount of crimes in
Baltimore based on a 100,000 population was 600 robberies, 37.4 rapes, and so far 131 homicides just
this year.
Violent crimes that happen in Baltimore or anywhere else not only affect the city itself and residents
but the country as well because what is happening in a city one day, might spread to another city the
next day. Also the way people respond to violent crimes by doing protests in a unsafe and un peaceful
way can cause even more harm than the actual problem, people will destroy cars, burn buildings and
shoot other people. Though we can t change what happened in the past, but we can learn for the future
and try to prevent these things from happening

Evidence Of The Movie Maleficent
In the movie Maleficent, Maleficent is a bad person the cause of that is the evidence shown in the
sentence s after this. One piece of evidence was why did she kill all of those people if she was not bad
then she wouldn t have killed all of those people. Another piece of evidence is that she could have not
ever cursed that baby then she could have peace in the land and it could have ended. In the conclusion
it is why she is a villain. The First reason is the murdering all of those people. There is a reason it is
called murdering it means killing people against the law. From the movie there was an army and she
killed them all and their king. That would mean she is evil and she killed tons of people when she

Benefits Of Net Neutrality
Net Neutrality is the idea of being able to enjoy free speech, be involved in innovative processes, and
not have unreasonable limits placed on one s internet usage is alluring reason to support net neutrality.
Without net neutrality, big companies like Verizon, AT T, and Comcast which provide services to
consumers so they can access the internet would have more control. The companies can put severe
caps on the internet which basically would put limits on individual subscribers who are critical of
them. They would charge enormous fees for the services so that internet access is available to only the
wealthy. Net neutrality was put in place to protect broadband, protect small companies to continue to

Also, by clearing forests to support agriculture, we are transferring carbon from living biomass into
the atmosphere (dry wood is about 50 percent carbon).
The result is that humans are adding ever increasing amounts of extra carbon dioxide into the
atmosphere. Because of this, atmospheric carbon dioxide concentrations are higher today than they
have been over the last half million years or longer.
The Carbon Cycle; The Human Role, Earth Observatory, NASA
Another way of looking at this is with a simple analogy: consider salt and human health:
A small amount of salt is essential for human life; Slightly more salt in our diet often makes food
tastier; Too much salt can be harmful to our health.
In a similar way, greenhouse gases are essential for our planet; the planet may be able to deal with
slightly increased levels of such gases, but too much will affect the health of the whole planet.

The other difference between the natural carbon cycle and human induced climate change is that the
latter is rapid. This means that ecosystems have less chance of adapting to the changes that will result

The Bible Of The Church Of Jesus Christ Of Latter Day Saints
Religion 121 A
Prof. Cory Sackett
Research Paper
One of the largest struggles for members in the church is animosity of non members. On one hand,
many express their dislike of the LDS church without even knowing what Sacrament Meeting is or the
full the title of the Mormon church (The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints). On the other
hand, there are a number supposed experts about Mormon doctrine. Some have belonged to the
Church themselves at one point, leaving after finding unresolved dissonance between their beliefs and
the Gospel. Others are often learned scholars, criticizing the Mormon doctrine to prove their own
views. The following paper involves the latter of the two in an analysis of Ezekiel 37:15 17, a Biblical
scripture that the LDS Church believes to refer to The Book of Mormon.
LDS Interpretation of Ezekiel s Prophecy
The Church interpretation of Ezekiel s prophecy is quite simple. In Ezekiel 37:15 17 from the King
James Bible, it reads:
The word of the Lord came again unto me saying, Moreover, thou son of man, take thee one stick, and
write upon it, For Judah, and for the children of Israel his companions: then take another stick, and
write upon it, For Joseph, the stick of Ephraim, and for all the house of Israel his companions: And
join them one to another into one stick; and they shall become one in thine hand.
This scripture is an explanation in LDS gospel as to how the Book of Mormon fulfills Bible
prophecies. Page 67 of A Marvelous Work and

Compare And Contrast The North And South Civil War
Neither North or South was ready to go into a major war. With the North having a US Army and a US
Navy it made the North have a better advantage. Another reason that they North was at a better
advantage was because of the agricultural and industrial backing. The Southern landscape was a big
part when it came to the civil war. The South did not have any resources making it hard for both
citizens and soldiers to live. A lot of things led up to the defeat of the South and victory of the North.
The North had a Us Army that was 16,000 strong and was mostly stationed in the West, as well as the

The Benefits Of Electroconvulsive Therapy ( Ect )
Electroconvulsive Therapy (ECT) Question 1: The electroconvulsive therapy is considered one of the
most reliable treatments for depressions. This therapy use electrodes that deliver a very tiny electric
current to the patient s scalp. Due to the fact that this electrical current causes a seizure in the grain,
the patient is under general anesthesia. Doctors recommended this therapy only when a people suffers
from severe depression and is not responsive to pills and psychotherapy. It is also considered, the best
treatment when the patient is a threat for himself or others. Sometimes, it is also use when the
symptoms are too severe that the doctor cannot take the risk of waiting for the medication take effect.
Furthermore, according to the website, the Electroconvulsive Therapy is only one of several brain
stimulation therapies. ECT uses electrical current, but other use magnets or implants to cure
depressions. The advantages are as follows: It is the fastest way to relieve symptoms in severely
depressed or suicidal patients. It is also very effective to control mania. Moreover, when a patient is
not responding to medications, ECT is one of the safest therapies to control clinical depression and
other several mental problems. The first disadvantage is that it can cause more damage than relief, if
something goes wrong. It may also cause memory loss, serious headaches, muscle aches, and severe
stomachache. Question 2: Based on what I read, and even knowing that

In the sixties there were several legal changes, which gave women a stronger position in marriage. The
Married women s property act in 1964 made sure that all women would get half the money they saved

occupation in a family home. Best most of all in 1970, when family assets were divided up the women
s upkeep of household and welfare of family was taken into acount.women were now treated with
more equality, and this had been a great change for women who lived in the 1950s. Before, in the
1950s women did not have many job opportunities most of them worked in boutiques or as
receptionists all of this was because of the traditional views that women stay at home and sacrifice
their career for the home and children, this is because they did not have equal education. So in the
sixties law was formed to make sure girls and boys had same education.
Liberals liked the sixties because there were many changes. Homosexuality was legalised in 1967 but
relationships had to be in private and The Death penalty was abolished.
Most parents would have disliked the sixties because they would disapprove their children s

Analysis Of Joan Rivers By The New York Daily News
As per an article highlighting Joan Rivers prolific death in 2014 by the New York Daily News
(NYDN) (2015), Joan s daughter, Melissa Rivers, has filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit against both
the clinic at which her mother was falsely operated upon and the group of physicians who treated her.
In her claims, as noted by the NYDN (2015), her 81 year old mother s death was completely
preventable and was due to completely ambiguous, amateur mistakes committed by those who
operated upon her. In the official documents obtained by the New York Daily News, Melissa has filed
accounts of malpractice against the clinic Yorkville Endoscopy (the clinic where her mother was

aforementioned have been recognized as the defendants in this litigation. In Melissa s belief,
according to the NYDN (2015), the coma that aroused her mother s death was triggered by the
negligent and impulsive behaviors of the physicians and the clinic that housed her during her
diagnostic procedure. According to reports, Joan Rivers, who incurred days of an abnormal hoarseness
of her voice, sought diagnosis of a possible medical condition at an outpatient facility situated in the
Upper East Side of New York City by the name of Yorkville Endoscopy (NYDN, 2015). For the

Persuasive Speech Outline (Using Monroe s Motivated Sequence)
Topic: Voting in Election
Specific Purpose: To persuade the audience to vote in democratic elections to voice out their opinions
and beliefs regardless of their background, to decide for their future, and to preserve the essence of
democracy.
Attention: * Provide a vivid description of people struggling to fight for their voting rights in certain
countries. * Share relevant facts /statistics of how a small number of votes could have change the
course of history in certain countries:
I. In year 1867, one vote gave United States the state of Alaska. The 1867 purchase of Alaska was
approved by the Senate of America by the margin of just one vote paving the way ... Show more

* Ask the audience: When people in other countries are struggling to fight for voting rights, why are
we not exercising our rights, wasting it away to nothing?
Need A. Voting allows people to voice out their opinions and beliefs regardless of background.
Voting gives the population an equal opportunity completely blind of sex, race, origin, education in
contributing to community development (Akande, 2011).
B. Voting allows people to decide for their own futures.
If people do not vote, it would lead the country to a very vulnerable and perilous position due to
incompetent and irresponsible leaders. Not voting during an election is voting indirectly against
democracy and making way for irresponsible leaders (Akande, 2011).
C. Voting preserves the essence of democracy.
Voting is the foremost way to exhibit good citizenship and civil responsibility. People should get
involved in elections and educated in all political measures. By this they become good and responsible
participatory citizens. It should always be remembered that some people sacrifice their lives to
preserve the freedom and voting opportunity as a sacred right. True democracy demands the
involvement of the people otherwise in absence of that there is no democracy(Akande, 2011).
Satisfaction: I. If people vote in elections, it would reduce corruption, reduce poverty and inequalities
and lead to a better and more efficient government.

Notes On Red Palm Oil
Red Palm Oil or Red Palm Foiled: Dr. Oz s Bold Claims Debunked
Anonymous Biology and Society Contributor
Dr. Oz, the beloved host of the popular television health show The Dr. Oz Show, has a new superfood
ready to improve everyone s health: red palm oil. This oil, while containing unhealthy saturated fats, is
actually great for your health. Red palm oil is different; it lowers bad cholesterol by 40% in just one
month and reduces the concentration of fatty tissue by igniting your metabolism, and even has
antioxidant powers. The calories from consuming red palm oil are instantaneously used for energy,
meaning no calories will be absorbed and stored in troublesome regions like your hips and thighs.
Indeed, red palm oil will help you whittle away that frustrating belly fat. With claims like these, it is
no wonder Dr. Oz believes that red palm oil will be the most popular new product in America. Sound
too good to be true? Unfortunately, Dr. Oz s bold claims extolling the virtues of red palm oil do not
have enough solid scientific evidence to back them and are riddled with rhetoric designed to persuade
you to buy this pseudoscientific product (Health Benefits Of Red Organic Palm Oil For the body). To
advertise red palm oil to his consumer audience, Dr. Oz employs arguments and persuasive devices
with the intent to mislead. One such technique was the use of slanted phrases, or using language that
carries emotional charge or bias to leads the audience to take a

Essay On Acid Base Imbalance
Alkalosis is a medical condition in which the body s acid base ratio is thrown out of balance because
there is excess base in the body. On the other end of the spectrum, acidosis is a medical condition in
which there is too much acid in the body, which also causes an acid base imbalance. For this
assignment, I will be explaining two types of each acid base imbalance, including the following
conditions: respiratory acidosis, metabolic acidosis, respiratory alkalosis, and metabolic alkalosis. In
respiratory acidosis, there is a characteristic PCO2 level of above 45 mmHg and a pH below 7.35.
Common causes for this condition include: diseases of the airways (such as asthma and emphysema),
diseases of the chest (such as scoliosis), pulmonary edema, severe obesity, obstructive sleep apnea,
and other diseases that compromise the muscles and nerves used to promote inhalation and exhalation

In metabolic alkalosis, there is a characteristic HCO3 level of above 26 mEq/liter and a pH above
7.45. Common causes for this condition include the use of diuretics, excessive intake of antacids,
severe dehydration, and the loss of gastric secretions through vomiting. Respiratory compensation
through hypoventilation may bring blood pH into the normal range (Tortora Derrickson, 2013).
Medical treatment includes IV fluids and, in more severe cases, hemodialysis or hemofiltration.
Homeopathic treatments for both respiratory acidosis and metabolic acidosis include eating raisins,
spinach, and tomatoes because all three of these fruits and vegetables are alkaline in nature and will
help increase the alkalinity of the blood and neutralize acids in the body (Natural Home Remedies,
2013). Homeopathic treatments for both respiratory alkalosis and metabolic alkalosis include
breathing into a paper bag, eating citrus fruits, drinking cranberry juice, and sipping a mixture of salt
and sugar in water (Home Remedy List,

Franciscans Vs Jesuits
Christianity is widely known as being one of the largest and fastest spreading religions in the world. A
unique aspect of Christianity is its ability to accommodate many different ways of thinking and living.
In just Catholicism alone, there are multiple different religious institutes, orders, and congregations,
one of which being the Society of Jesus, or the Jesuits. In the 16th century, evangelization the
spreading of the word of Jesus along with the expansion of Europe to Africa, Asia, and the Americas,
are reason for the vast amount of missionaries and practicing Christians around the globe. The
missions and evangelicalism of the early Jesuits was the most lucrative spread of Christianity since the
early church. By 1550, Christianity ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The many aspects of the outside of this church alone reveal that it is a Jesuit Church. The use of
baroque architecture is a major factor in distinguishing buildings of this time from one another. The
Gesu is the first major building featuring Baroque, which is significant to the Counter Reformation,
and it is also the template for Jesuit churches around the world. Baroque architecture followed
renaissance art from the Middle Ages. The many aspects of this style make it feel as if it is going
against the norm. Architects aspire to make baroque buildings look as if they are sculpted and
contoured, rather than mathematically planned. Using techniques to make walls look curved together
as one single entity is a way baroque artists integrated movement into architecture. Unique ground
plans of oval or ellipse shape are a distinguished aspect of baroque, in contrast to the circles, squares,
and Greek crosses used in the renaissance. Architecturally, the Gesu is a marvel. It is the second
largest in size, following St. Peters Basilica, and also has one of the largest domes in Rome. The
baroque aspect of the dome is its inability to be seen from the front of the church, it is only viewable
from the sides. In addition, the pillars on the exterior are in even pairs of two lining the front wall,
however they are carved out of the stone, not standing independently. Despite this, the pillars still

Analysis Of Mark Twain s The Adventures Of Huckleberry Finn
Chris Andrews
Mrs. Garrett
March 2, 2015
English 3
Trust is Earned
Trust is having the confidence to rely on someone or something. This attribute is extremely hard to
achieve and requires sacrifices. For Huck to find a home or a place he is comfortable with he needs to
have the feeling that he is surrounded by characters of reliance and assurance. Huck Finn has a highly
different perspective of the world opposed to the people who surround him. Most importantly, Huck
struggles heavily on determining the difference between right and wrong because of the people around
him that influence him. He makes his decisions based upon past experiences dictated by trust. Mark
Twain makes the choice of a social satire because having Huck tell the story allows the reader to see
and understand how a child interprets what happens around him. The reader can then view Hucks
thought process and grasp what he is feeling. For example, while being around his father, Huck does
not feel safe therefore he runs away. Throughout the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck comes
across multiple families and people, yet he never experiences a truly comfortable feeling among any
family due his conscience constantly fighting with his white southern instincts.
Moreover, Huck begins his story being constantly harassed by his drunk father. His father is
consistently looked upon by the town as a failure and a disgrace to the south. Pap is continually
beating Huck for going to school because he believes by

the researchers further de identified interview texts for the study.
Limitations and External Validity The main limitation in this study is the small sampling of Caucasian
female study participants from one Midwest breast cancer center. More research in other parts of the
country needs to be completed for a more accurately portrayed study.
Findings, Conclusions, and Common Themes Conclusions: Suggestions for nurses working with
women in the immediate days following the initial diagnosis of breast cancer consist of assessing
women s descriptions and accessibility of support; regarding various needs for informational support;
providing a supportive clinical setting; instructing clinicians, family and friends about unsupportive
reactions within the cultural context and confirming women s control and balancing of support needs.
Findings and Themes: Surviving the wait for surgery by balancing support needs to maintain a hopeful
outlook was the overarching pattern linking six other related

Christian Church s Power In Medieval Times
During Medieval times the highest power of the time was the Christian Church. They had the power
over politics, economics and culture. They had so much power being one of the only powerhouse
churches of the time they were the make or break of everyone. They decide who goes to heaven and
who goes to hell. They decide who leads and who is a commoner. They were the voice of god that all
the people listened too. Politically, many counties have devoted themselves and their people to god.
As gods messenger, the Christian Church found themselves having control and power over these
countries. Deciding who ruled these kingdom and threatening exile if they do not follow the rules.
Kings and queens need the pope s help in times when they were weak or required aid like times of war
with other leaders. The people needed the church in times of forgiveness and also when it was vital for
them to get resources like food. The need of the nobles and the people allowed the Church to use all
the political and social power they had and take control. Making who they want leaders and help only
the people they find worthy. Due to this reality that is why there has always been an issue between the
church and the state. The Church has power granted by god which goes unchallenged why the state
has been elected by the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Not only did the church have their own army but they also had rich political ravens to support them.
They had an overabundance of power and wealth that when challenged it either lead to death or exile.
Both were pretty much an equivalent sentence in medieval times. The Church had power over land of
land mainly because they owned monasteries. With this land came wealth. They had a lot of people in
control over be it kings or townsfolk. The more land they have control over the more people they
influence therefor the more money they receive. The church was one of the wealthiest associations

Sylvia Plath Research Paper
Sylvia Plath s Life
Sylvia Plath s Biography: Sylvia was born in Boston on 27th October 1932. She has grown up in a
family environment which supports self improvement and literal works. Sylvia s father, Otto was a
dominant presence in the house. He died when she was eight years old because of pulmonary
embolism after an amputation surgery. After Otto s death Aurelia worked too much to ensure a good
living for her children. They moved from one place to another for many times. This situation caused
an unstable family life for both children. Sylvia s first published poem was published after her father s
death. She was a motivated and successful student at school. She earned a scholarship from Smith
College in 1950 and continued to read ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Personality Theories: The first theory that is going to be used to explain Sylvia s personality dynamics
and development is the Psychosocial Development Theory of Erik Erikson. According to Erikson,
individuals differ according to the ego strengths that they obtained after resolution of different stages
during life. During this process family, society, biological differences and cognitive thought processes
effect the personality dynamics and development. Sylvia Plath s career choices, literary works,
interpersonal relationships are going to be analysed by using the psychosocial development lenses of
Erikson. The second theory that is going to be used is the Karen Horney s Object Relations Theory .
According to Horney, individuals differ according to the way they showed themselves in relationships.
There are different interpersonal orientations and the way the person uses these orientations are
determined by parenting, society and cognitive processes. Through the lenses of Karen Horney, I am
going to examine the relationships of Sylvia Plath with her parents and other people and her career
choices as a woman in

Example Of Internal Medicine Personal Statement Personal Statement I remember entering medical school with the intention of pursuing internal medicine, a specialty that would fulfill my desire to be a strong advocate for adults as well as associate physicians. I cannot even begin to describe how overwhelming it is to see patients improve after methodically figuring out how to nurse them back to health. Internal medicine will allow me to apply my knowledge and the resources available, to figure out the problematic nature of diseases. The challenging array of diseases and working with adults is the reason I am fond of internal medicine. The concept of conflict is very difficult but speaking up and being open about it can and will only solve it whether it be positive or negative. I agree with Margret when she said that the truth won t set us free until we develop the skills, the habit, the talent, and the moral courage to do it. We as individuals need to break our silence. I feel like the speaker was trying to say go out of your way to voice your opinion in simple settings. • 4. The Pros And Cons Of The Chicago Bullss When everyone thinks of the Chicago Bulls, they think of greatness. How could you not? The entire decade of the 1990s was all about the Chicago Bulls. Their star player Michael Jordan was easily the most popular athlete in the world, the franchise won 6 NBA championships in eight years, and they were easily recognized as the greatest team ever, owning a then record 72 win season. They were at the peak of their fame as easily the most recognized team in the world. However, Michael Jordan called it quits after their sixth championship which began a long gradual decline for 20 years. In that time, they have not won any championships or even appeared in the Finals. Now, we have the newest edition of the team, the 2017 2018 Chicago Bulls. After trading three players with all star experience before the season began, They left their team that is now a bunch of inexperienced players. Despite claims that they are a young team that will get better, I believe that the Chicago Bulls are the worst team in the NBA for now because of a lack of all star caliber players and their terrible in game performances. One indication as to why the Chicago Bulls are the worst franchise in the NBA is their in game performances so far in the season. A great way to find out the quality of the team is by looking at their game statistics. Sadly, the Bulls rank usually at the bottom in most meaningful statistics. Role of Women in Literature Essay The Representation of Women in Literature br br The role of women in society is constantly questioned and for centuries women have struggled to find their place in a world that is predominantly male oriented. Literature provides a window into the lives, thoughts and actions of women during certain periods of time in a fictitious form, yet often truthful in many ways. Ernest Hemmingway s Hills like White Elephants , D.H. Lawrence s The Horse Dealers Daughter and William Faulkner s A Rose for Emily each paint a picture of a woman who has failed to break away from her male companion, all describing a stereotypically dominated woman. • 6. Bus Descriptive Speech I had been dreading this day for four long months. My breathing got heavier with each step I took approaching the bus. I walked down a long paved pathway, and saw the enormous bus that I had been traveling in for the last two weeks, and I thought, What did I just get myself into? This is the day that I would say goodbye to all of my friends and teachers I had been with for the past two weeks. I would now be traveling in Germany without supervision. I climbed up the steps to the bus, and took a seat in the same spot I had always sat in. The bus was fairly large from the outside, but the second you stepped in, you realized that it was actually tiny. I sat down in my seat with my friends, and exchanged a few words about the trip. The seats were covered in an ugly purple print, that looked like it had just jumped out of the 80s. The bus had a clean smell, but was as hot as Africa in the summertime. I sat down and remembered what my mother always told me when I was having anxiety. She would say, Laura just breathe, everything will be okay. In this moment I had no clue how everything was going to be okay. As the bus loudly started, we departed from the last youth hostel. I felt like I was going to choke. The drive was about an hour and a half, but it felt like five minutes to me. I just sat in my seat and panicked. From the moment I sat down, till the moment I stood up, I was shaking. I felt like I was experiencing an earthquake, and there was nothing I could do. I could ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Need A. Voting allows people to voice out their opinions and beliefs regardless of background. Voting gives the population an equal opportunity completely blind of sex, race, origin, education in contributing to community development (Akande, 2011). B. Voting allows people to decide for their own futures. If people do not vote, it would lead the country to a very vulnerable and perilous position due to incompetent and irresponsible leaders. Not voting during an election is voting indirectly against democracy and making way for irresponsible leaders (Akande, 2011). C. Voting preserves the essence of democracy. Voting is the foremost way to exhibit good citizenship and civil responsibility. People should get involved in elections and educated in all political measures. By this they become good and responsible participatory citizens. It should always be remembered that some people sacrifice their lives to preserve the freedom and voting opportunity as a sacred right. True democracy demands the involvement of the people otherwise in absence of that there is no democracy(Akande, 2011). Satisfaction: I. • 26. Notes On Red Palm Oil Red Palm Oil or Red Palm Foiled: Dr. Oz s Bold Claims Debunked Anonymous Biology and Society Contributor Dr. Oz, the beloved host of the popular television health show The Dr. Oz Show, has a new superfood ready to improve everyone s health: red palm oil. This oil, while containing unhealthy saturated fats, is actually great for your health. Red palm oil is different; it lowers bad cholesterol by 40% in just one month and reduces the concentration of fatty tissue by igniting your metabolism, and even has antioxidant powers. The calories from consuming red palm oil are instantaneously used for energy, meaning no calories will be absorbed and stored in troublesome regions like your hips and thighs. Indeed, red palm oil will help you whittle away that frustrating belly fat. With claims like these, it is no wonder Dr. Oz believes that red palm oil will be the most popular new product in America. Sound too good to be true? Unfortunately, Dr. Oz s bold claims extolling the virtues of red palm oil do not have enough solid scientific evidence to back them and are riddled with rhetoric designed to persuade you to buy this pseudoscientific product (Health Benefits Of Red Organic Palm Oil For the body). To advertise red palm oil to his consumer audience, Dr. Oz employs arguments and persuasive devices with the intent to mislead. One such technique was the use of slanted phrases, or using language that carries emotional charge or bias to leads the audience to take a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 27. Essay On Acid Base Imbalance Alkalosis is a medical condition in which the body s acid base ratio is thrown out of balance because there is excess base in the body. On the other end of the spectrum, acidosis is a medical condition in which there is too much acid in the body, which also causes an acid base imbalance. For this assignment, I will be explaining two types of each acid base imbalance, including the following conditions: respiratory acidosis, metabolic acidosis, respiratory alkalosis, and metabolic alkalosis. In respiratory acidosis, there is a characteristic PCO2 level of above 45 mmHg and a pH below 7.35. Common causes for this condition include: diseases of the airways (such as asthma and emphysema), diseases of the chest (such as scoliosis), pulmonary edema, severe obesity, obstructive sleep apnea, and other diseases that compromise the muscles and nerves used to promote inhalation and exhalation (Medline Plus, ... Common causes for this condition include the use of diuretics, excessive intake of antacids, severe dehydration, and the loss of gastric secretions through vomiting. Respiratory compensation through hypoventilation may bring blood pH into the normal range (Tortora Derrickson, 2013). Medical treatment includes IV fluids and, in more severe cases, hemodialysis or hemofiltration. Homeopathic treatments for both respiratory acidosis and metabolic acidosis include eating raisins, spinach, and tomatoes because all three of these fruits and vegetables are alkaline in nature and will help increase the alkalinity of the blood and neutralize acids in the body (Natural Home Remedies, 2013). Homeopathic treatments for both respiratory alkalosis and metabolic alkalosis include breathing into a paper bag, eating citrus fruits, drinking cranberry juice, and sipping a mixture of salt and sugar in water (Home Remedy List, ... The many aspects of the outside of this church alone reveal that it is a Jesuit Church. The use of baroque architecture is a major factor in distinguishing buildings of this time from one another. The Gesu is the first major building featuring Baroque, which is significant to the Counter Reformation, and it is also the template for Jesuit churches around the world. Baroque architecture followed renaissance art from the Middle Ages. The many aspects of this style make it feel as if it is going against the norm. Architects aspire to make baroque buildings look as if they are sculpted and contoured, rather than mathematically planned. Using techniques to make walls look curved together as one single entity is a way baroque artists integrated movement into architecture. Unique ground plans of oval or ellipse shape are a distinguished aspect of baroque, in contrast to the circles, squares, and Greek crosses used in the renaissance. Architecturally, the Gesu is a marvel. It is the second largest in size, following St. Peters Basilica, and also has one of the largest domes in Rome. The baroque aspect of the dome is its inability to be seen from the front of the church, it is only viewable from the sides. In addition, the pillars on the exterior are in even pairs of two lining the front wall, however they are carved out of the stone, not standing independently. Despite this, the pillars still ... For Huck to find a home or a place he is comfortable with he needs to have the feeling that he is surrounded by characters of reliance and assurance. Huck Finn has a highly different perspective of the world opposed to the people who surround him. Most importantly, Huck struggles heavily on determining the difference between right and wrong because of the people around him that influence him. He makes his decisions based upon past experiences dictated by trust. Mark Twain makes the choice of a social satire because having Huck tell the story allows the reader to see and understand how a child interprets what happens around him. The reader can then view Hucks thought process and grasp what he is feeling. For example, while being around his father, Huck does not feel safe therefore he runs away. Throughout the Adventures of Huckleberry Finn, Huck comes across multiple families and people, yet he never experiences a truly comfortable feeling among any family due his conscience constantly fighting with his white southern instincts.
