Denim Jeans Benefits
Jeans care at home stipulate
There is no need to clarify the fashion appeal of denim jeans in the fashion world. Jeans are now a
very popular article of casual dressing around the world. Denim has been used in America since the
late 18th century for making casual wear, uniforms and work clothes. Jeans originally designed for
cowboys but after that it became popular among youngsters. The story of jeans begins in the city of
Genoa, in Italy. After that the French city of Nimes, weavers tried to reproduce the fabric exactly, but
without success. However, after long trialing, they developed another twill fabric that became known
as denim.
The word denim comes from the name of a strapping fabric called serge, originally made in Nîmes,
France, by the André ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

India s A Growing Economic System
For this research report, I want to further the understanding of the Indian attitude, external
opportunities and threats of entrepreneurship, and how the International world and India is progressing
with entrepreneurs. I have an interest in being in working internationally, after gaining more
experience in the corporate/sales area of a company, which is one of the reasons I chose to explore this
topic on an international level. This paper will cover some basics of entrepreneurship in India.
In India they have a growing economic system. Global Edge states that in 2011, India s estimated
GDP was $1.843 trillion with 7.8% growth (Global Edge). Then another measurement was taken in
2013; according to the CIA, India s GDP is about $4.99 ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Although India has some of the biggest billionaires living there, more than 30% 50% of the people in
India live below the poverty line on about 50 cents a day. It is a high poverty rate, the highest among
all the BRIC countries. In India this problem is growing and becoming more unbalanced. This is an
issue because of the caste system in India. This castes system makes it extremely difficult for one to
change social classes. Women also have a problem when trying to break into the workplace, because it
is something that is seen as taboo. I recall in a TED TALK that was shown in a class of mine, it
showed how women and lower class citizens of India were learning about IT and how they were being
taught simple key logging types of work in hopes of the availability of the jobs will help balance the
distribution of income through the lower classes.
The key sectors of the company in India are listed as agriculture (17.4%), industry (25.8%), and
services (56.9%). Many belonging to the lower class in India are farmers and they spend quite some
time selling their produce which proves to be a difficult tasks since many rural areas do not have the
means to provide efficient transportation (i.e. underdeveloped roads). Because of this, many of their
produce go bad/expire before they make it to the market. The main agricultural products that are
produced in India are rice, wheat, oilseed, cotton, jute, tea, sugarcane, lentils, onions, potatoes; dairy

Courage is The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe Essay example
Courage is The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe
Tom Wolfe s novel The Right Stuff, gives an accurate description into the lives of the first astronauts
and rocket powered aircraft test pilots, from their careers before, during, and after their selection to
become astronauts, through to their private home lives. All throughout his book, Wolfe refers to the
right stuff and this righteous stuff without ever saying upfront what the stuff really is. I have
concluded that throughout the story, the right stuff is simply courage. I would personally define
courage as: The willingness to put yourself in a potentially dangerous situation. It is never easy to put
yourself into a dangerous position, this is because our brain is programmed for ... Show more content

You name it; they probably had to go through it during the selection process and training aspects for
the job. When Allen Shepard became the first American in space, Wolfe describes his whole flight
from the 4 hour plus delay in launch time all the way down to his splash down in the Atlantic Ocean.
While telling this part of his story, Wolfe is always telling about the reference into Shepard s training
and comparing it to the actual flight that was taking place, even the humorous instance when Shepard
needed to relieve his bladder . Overall, that flight experience, according to Wolfe, was not as intense
as the training that Shepard had gone through. The routine of the training program kept Shepard s
mind on the job throughout the flight and allowed him to accomplish the flight tests that he was sent
up there to do. He kept going over the program of events in his head knowing exactly how much time
he had to accomplish each task before he had to move onto the next task. Another example of how
training proved to accompany courage as the right stuff is when test pilot Chuck Yeager was flying the
rocket powered NF 104 when the aircraft went into a flat spin and he lost control of it. While the
aircraft was plummeting down to Earth from 104,000 feet at 150 per second, Yeager was able to stay
calm and run through all the scenarios that he had been trained in, and then some extra attempts to
restart the aircraft and save it from destruction instead of

Essay On Health Care Reform
The publics opinion has had many influences on the debate on healthcare and healthcare reform.
Although an issue primarily in charge by the government, many people have been voicing their
opinion dating back all the way to the introduction of Medicare. Recent surveys have shown many
trends and many variations in public opinion that take a toll on health care reform. These opinions
played a very important role in the overall results of polls in the federal health care reform debate. The
polls that were studied were pulled from a range of opinion pulls dating back to 1943 however, only
2008 and 2009 2010 reform opinions were pin pointed and reviewed/studied. These polls specifically
selected dealt with changes to the health care system as well ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Sadly many Americans do not have health care while not participating in the debate to receive it. No
matter what happens in term of reform, whether Obamacare being discontinued or a new bill for
health care arises, this issue will always spark much debate within the government and in the publics
eye. Healthcare will always be heavily politicized time and time again. If health care is turned into
something so extreme that it affects more and more people (even those who were happily covered), a
public push for reform will become that much

Tellico Dam Case Study
(1.) The ride sharing service, Uber, is a successful and disruptive service in the car service industry;
however, the business model creates a dynamic situation for individual Uber drivers. According to
Bales and Woo (2017), Uber drivers are independent contractors who do not receive the same benefits
as taxi drivers, including protection from individual liability. While debate exists between the drivers
and Uber over the employee or contractor classification, Uber asserts that the legal obligations fall
upon drivers due to the freedom associated with drivers work hours. Due to the risks of liability from
vehicle incidents, Akalp (2015) recommends that Uber drivers set up a limited liability corporation in
order to protect drivers from losing personal assets in the event of being sued in contractual disputes.

Perhaps a plan to preserve the habitat through the creation of a spillway to allow moving water for the
snail darters was needed in order for the construction of the dam. Nevertheless, an important concept
is gained from the Tellico Dam case, which is the paradigm between business, government, and
society. For example, Plater (2013) describes the media coverage surrounding the Tellico Dam case as
an important factor in the outcome. The media focused on the impact to the snail darter and neglected
the impact to the local community in the event the dam was not completed. However, the main failure
lay at the feet of the TVA because the organization failed to address the concerns of society. TVA

An Analysis of quot; The Sun Rising, quot; by John Donne...
The Sun Rising, by John Donne, is a lyric poem about two lovers. The poem is divided into three
stanzas, each ten lines long. The rhyme scheme in each stanza is ABBACDCDEE. This is a dramatic
poem where the speaker and his lover are in bed together. The speaker personifies the sun, and is
speaking to it throughout the poem. As the sunlight comes through the windows, the speaker tells the
sun to leave them alone. He seems to feel that their life together is complete, and that the sun is being
a nuisance. He then tells the sun that his lover is worth more than anything the sun can ever find
outside their bedroom.
The sunrise has provoked the speaker to speak. The sun is symbolic of an intruder. Although the
speaker acts ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He gets right to the point of the poem in the very first sentence, maybe because the sun has woken him
up, and he wants his readers to think that this was the very first thing on his mind.
In the second stanza, the speaker s tone becomes more insulting and modest. He attacks the sunshine
by pointing out that he can cut the sun out of his life by closing his eyes. Even though he is being
arrogant, he is forced to admit that without the sun, he would not be able to see his lover. His attitude
then seems to change again when he says, If her eyes have not blinded thine. From this point on, he
focuses less on the sun and more on his lover and their situation together. He is saying that his lover
and himself are the center of the world.
As we move on to the third stanza, the speaker s conceit continues. The first two lines imply that the
lovers are every state, everywhere. He says, and all princes, I, nothing else. He seems to believe that
he has all control. When the speaker says, Princes do but play us....All wealth alchemy, he believes
that nothing or no one else matters besides him and his lover. At the end of the third stanza, the
speaker decides that since nothing else matters in the world, the sun should only shine in the room
containing him and his lover, Shine here to us, and thou art everywhere: This bed thy center is, these
walls, thy

Power Struggle In The Film Terms Of Endearment
The three films that I have chosen all have a power struggle between the mother and daughter. First,
Terms of Endearment (1983) directed by James L. Brook, is about a complex mother daughter
relationship. In this movie, the mother, Aurora (Shirley MacLaine) has always had a peculiar way of
how she was affectionate and caring for her daughter. Aurora goes out of her way to assure herself that
her daughter is safe. The movie actually started off with Aurora climbing into the baby s crib to make
sure the baby was breathing and alive. She wasn t the most ordinary mother out there when it came to
showing her feelings; it was always a bit too much to handle. After the death of her husband, Aurora
and her daughter were all each other had, and that s when the love/hate ... Show more content on

years they spent apart from each other, they both came together for support during Emma s crisis.
Some more time passes by and Emma finds out about an illness that she will not survive. Aurora and
Flap come to Emma s aid at this dreadful time. Aurora, being as tired and devastated that she is about
her daughter, spends all her time to make sure Emma has everything she needs. Watching Emma s
illness progress, Flap and Emma decide that the best place for their children is with Aurora. Emma
shortly dies and the all is left is Aurora and the children (Terms of Endearment, movie). This movie is

Theme Of Twelfth Sin The Jewel Box In Anger
In the story Du Tenth Sinks the Jewel Box in Anger, Du Tenth shows complete devotion to Master Li
Jia and by the end of the story, we see that the devotion she has for him is not reciprocated. One s
feelings may be stronger than the others, but couples choose to stay together. In some instances,
individuals may choose to stay in the relationship for convenience, rather than feelings. Regarding Du
Tenths situation, I feel that she continued her relationship for both reasons. Tenths feelings for Master
Li were very strong but in addition, it was more convenient for her to pursue a life with Li Jia, than
continue the life she was living. This trend is not only seen is stories, but it has also become the reality
of today s society.
For obvious reasons, Du Tenth pursued a relationship with Maser Li but the question is why did she
decide to stay with him after he lost all of his wealth? If we look at all the factors, Du Tenth had lots to
gain by officially being with Li Jia. Without Li Jia, she was just a courtesan. Master Li s parents did
not approve of their relationship due to this. The first thing that Du Tenth would gain is a better name

Edm On A Global Scale
EDM on a Global Scale
One of the benefits and reasons why people are so interested with EDM is that it is widely available
on the internet. YouTube channels, Facebook pages, websites, and every digital medium available is or
has been a location for popular EDM to be socially active with viewers. This allows songs to gain
prevalence in different areas of the world with out the geographic locations impeding their connection.
Each geographic location also has their own cultural signature to EDM, influences usually point to
past cultural movements or famous music that came out of the area. For example Avicii, a Swedish
electronic musician, DJ, and producer, created a song, Malo which contained Spanish lyrics and
created a large listener base that was in the country of Spain. EDM has the ability to be produced with
an audience in mind. This is mainly because artists have the means of customizing a sound or song for
a group of people just by recreating the ideas and music of movements within that geographical
location. By using similar sounds and rhythms, EDM artists are able to capture the true nature of a
country s signature. EDM is a global and social community that is unlike a music genre ever seen
before. Almost instantaneously, people of world can find and listen to exactly what EDM they want to
hear. People can communicate to each other about the music and share the ideas of the art in a quick
and boundless fashion. While remixing has been around for decades, the term

The story of CPT Benjamin L Salomon is one filled with bravery, heroism, and selfless service. CPT
Salomon began his Army career as an infantry Private in 1940, shortly after the draft was enacted. He
served honorably until his death in Saipan, Marianas Islands on 7 July 1944. (Bowers)
CPT Benjamin Salomon s story of valor began in the fall of 1940. Congress had recently enacted the
National Selective Service Act, and then Dr. Benjamin Salomon was ordered to report and was
inducted into the Army as an infantry Private. During his time training with the infantry he showed
tremendous skill as a Soldier. Once he completed his training he was assigned to the 102nd Infantry

program allows employers to hire employees in occupations that usually require at most a high school

Employers are required to cover recruitment and return airfare costs, to ensure that suitable
accommodation is available, to provide medical coverage until the employee is covered under a

from high context cultures and might fond the way Canadians express themselves rather aggressive
and intrussive. Communication breakdown results in misunderstanding btween the foreign workers,
local workers and possibl management. This then leads to other issues which can impede interaction
with local populations and create obstacles in workplaces. It also notes that tension is seen with
respect to temporary foreign workers experiencing racism and harassment. Temporary foreign workers
may contribute to an overall lowering of wages. Many companies rely on third party recruiters to
attract these workers, this could be problematic as the workers negotiate their contracts with the
agencies and not the employers directly. Negotiation is also defined by the cultural values each party
brings to the negotiating table. The expectations for outcomes, choice of personnel, and
communication style of each side result from priorities that stem from the culture of the participants in

Death And The King s Horseman Analysis
Sarah Goodson
Dr. Babcock
ENG 239
28 September 2017
Prompt 1
In Wole Soyinka s play, Death and the King s Horseman, the English presence in Nigeria is well
established. As each scene goes by the audience can feel European colonialism lurking heavily in the
background. With this English influence on the Yoruba people the community is swept with
unsteadiness and conflict. The dominant events in Soyinka s play symbolize a larger conflict; although
the English believe they are shedding light and bringing progress to the Nigerians, the Nigerians don t
welcome these foreigners and only wish to continue their cultural ways in peace. Soyinka argues that
although the English believe what they are doing is necessary, they are the ones who are intruding on
someone else s culture and they should respect that, no matter how uncivilized or odd it may seem.
Not accepting and misunderstanding one another s culture is a leading conflict in this play. The Yoruba
community has very different beliefs on death compared to the English. When speaking of death,
Elesin states: When the hour comes watch me dance along the narrowing path gazed by the soles of
my great precursors. My soul is eager (Soyinka, 10). In contrast, Jane believes that this view is
nonsense. Life should never be thrown away deliberately (Soyinka, 42) The Yoruba community
celebrates death and welcomes the afterlife. While the English fear death. This misunderstanding and
lack of acceptance of cultural differences leads Pilkings to act on what he thinks is best, when it is not
what is best for the community.
Throughout the novel the Yoruba culture continually is disrespected by the colonists who invade their
community. In the play Pilkings and his wife Jane are dressed in egungun costumes which they
confiscated from cult leaders. Amusa pleads with Pilkings and Jane to take them off. They respond
saying You don t believe this nonsense do you? I thought you were a good Muslim. ( Soyinka, 19)
Jane and Pilkings are surprised that Amusa can still respect the Yoruba culture while believing in
something different. Amusa can t stand it any longer and leaves saying I treat egungun with respect
before running off ( Soyinka, 20). Amusa represents what Soyinka is

Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Development
Emily Bradshaw
Professor David Iannaccone
Introduction to Psychology
December 4th, 2014
Abstract
In this research paper, I explained what Sigmund Freud s psychosexual theory of development is and
why it is important for the developing child to overcome said conflicts. I also talked about the
different effects of not overcoming the conflicts Freud had determined that would lead to adult
behaviors.
Over the years, Sigmund Freud has created many theories involving many different ideas in the
psychological world. One theory that stood out to me throughout our journey in introduction to
psychology is Freud s developmental theory. Freud s development theory is the influence that sexual
growth has on personality development from birth to adult life, with the phases of sexual maturation
designated as oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. (psychosexual development. (n.d.). The
American Heritage® Stedman s Medical Dictionary. ) This theory stood out to me the most because I
feel that Freud has a very unique idea of how we, as humans, develop and how almost every stage
refers to a different growth, yet all involve sexual ideas. Sigmund Freud was said to believe that once
a child reached adulthood at eighteen years of age that they were fully grown. Many psychologists
have went against this theory however to discover that humans do not stop growing at eighteen. All
the stages of psychosexual development have a conflict in which has to be resolved or the child will

Appreciation from Son to Mother in Tupac Shakur s Song,...
Throughout the emotional lyrics of Tupac Shakur s song Dear Mama , he constantly reveals trial and
tribulation. Shakur sympathetically expresses the obstacles he endures due to the undying support of
his mother who displays sacrificial love. He explains the abnormal circumstances in which his family
undergoes such as poverty, single parenting, and even feelings of hopelessness. Shakur characterizes
his mother as a heroic figure, who outshines the negative aspects of his life by providing the essentials
only a mother could both physically and morally instill in her child. The artist brilliantly captivates his

There is a great distinction between the young man s unappreciative demeanor in Shirley Caesar s
song No Charge and Shakur s honorable acknowledgement in his song Dear Mama .
From beginning to end, Shakur lyrically unfolds sincere gratitude toward his mother. In fact, in the
very first line he strongly emphasizes You are appreciated , highlighting the theme appreciation . The
artist repetitively quotes this line throughout the song to effectively remind his listeners of his
gratefulness to have a valuable mother. In the first verse of the song, Shakur informs the audience of a
pessimistic aspect of his life, where he is thrown out of the house. Yet, he still yearns to see his mother
and shows a nostalgic attitude toward the situation. Despite the fact that his mother is a crack addict
Shakur portrays her as a black queen , displaying great esteem for what she means to him as her son.
Sung by an anonymous voice, the chorus itself relatively personifies the appreciation he has towards
his mother. In the second verse the artist expresses feelings of enmity towards his father who was not
there for him. This allows me as a listener to conclude that Shakur s mother had to play the role of
both a mother and father which further elevates a higher appreciation for his love towards her.
Evidently, he demonstrates his gratefulness by giving her a diamond necklace which symbolizes great
worth. Shakur indicates that she is not only a parent but also a loyal

Judicial Politics and Behavior
Judicial Politics And Behavior YourFirstName YourLastName University title Q.1 Firing or sacking is
an informal word for dismissal which is termination of employment by employer against the

They are called dinosaurs or inept human resource administrators. They are mainly racist and un

Consistency in the documentation is key (Stephen, 2009). Harmony between the employer s reason for
why the firing took place and the documentation on the employee s work history can mean the
difference between a simple parting of ways and a prolonged and messy legal battle, and employment
attorneys know this. If an ex employee s lawyer, looking for evidence of a wrongful termination, sees
a lack of consistency in the employee s personnel files or a lack or records at all, employers should
consider that blood on the water. Another very important consideration is whether an employee slated
for possible termination is a member of a protected class. Federal law prohibits discrimination based
on a number of factors such as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, or
citizenship.State and local laws also can provide additional protection to employees. For example, no
federal law currently protects against discrimination based on sexual orientation but a large number of
states do. State by state comparison of 50 employment laws in all 50 states, including sexual

Student Athletes And High School Athletics
A 2016 study by the NCAA revealed that there are nearly eight million students who participate in
high school athletics in the United States, yet only 480,000 of them will compete at NCAA schools (
Probability of Competing Beyond High School ). Of that approximate 16% who become a student
athlete, an even smaller percent will graduate and become professional athletes. For example, data
from the 2015 NFL Draft demonstrates that there is less than a 2% chance of playing in the NFL.
During the 2015 Draft, there were 72,788 NCAA football participants, only 16,175 of those were draft
eligible for the 256 slots which equates to a 1.6% chance of being drafted to the NFL. According to
the NCAA, of the 256 NCAA players selected in the 2015 NFL draft 236 were from Division I FBS
institutions, 17 were from Division I FCS programs, two were from Division II programs, and only
one was from a Division III program. Student athletes from the power five conferences accounted for
for 200 of the 256 draft picks (SEC=54, ACC=47, Pac 12=39, Big Ten=35, Big 12=25) ( Probability
of Competing Beyond High School , 2016). With there being a small percentage of playing
professional sports after college, the importance of a college degree has become a priority for many
student athletes.
Due to the Student Right to Know act from 1990, all colleges and universities are required by NCAA
legislation and federal law to report student graduation rates ( Graduation Rates , 2016). The data
collected is the

MID TERM EXAM Chapters 1 6 Student Name: David McNamee__ Open Book Exam
1a. The phases that Jeannine skipped are 1. The systems analysis and requirements phase 2. The
systems design phase 3. The implementation phase and 4. Operations and Maintenance phase
(Systems support and security).
1b. When Jeannine skipped the system analysis phase, she failed to analyze the needs of the end user
and whether the system she came up with would meet her final requirements. Although Jeannine
incorrectly believes she knows what is required she is unaware that the financial comptroller ... Show

The misconception that a system can be quickly thrown together that will meet all the requirements of
an organization and its clients is common.
1d. The conclusions that can be drawn from Chapter 2 lead me to believe that Jeannine can be taught
to plan strategically and that she can also learn why it is important to do so. Had Jeannine followed the
proper planning process she would have been able to resolve most of the issues that she encountered
before they were a problem.
2a. Steven failed to do several things as a Project Manager. He failed to deliver the product on time
and within budget, as well as managing expectations. His failures were a result of poor planning,
prompt or advance requesting of resources, and a failure to communicate with his team, management
and the end user. Steve s job as the PM is to monitor progress, ensure key stakeholders keep their
people focused on the task and prevent delays, or if delays occur communicate those issues to
management. Managing stake holders and keeping them focused on requirements and due dates goes a
long way towards preventing problems. Steve seems to have failed at this.
2b. Using the creeping requirements as an excuse seems to be a mistake as it implies project
mismanagement. If the project had been properly monitored scope creep could have been detected
early and managed.
2c. As the PM, Steven should have been aware of what was occurring in the project always.

Pont Saint-Michel By Matisse
The first of the three, and my personal favorite, is Pont Saint Michel by Matisse. This piece is very
simple, yet has a calming and elegant color scheme and medium. This oil on canvas cityscape uses
rough brushstrokes and very few exact lines in order to show an inexact representation of the bridge
and its surrounding buildings. The buildings have very little true form, and seem to blend into one
another. Their colors are mostly primary, with reds, yellows, and blues standing out the most. These
aspects all intertwine in order to show an imperfect representation of a view that Matisse saw nearly
every day out of his window. Since Matisse painted this scene multiple times throughout the years that
he lived in this building, the transformation in his art styles is apparent. Therefore, this painting shows
his transition toward a Fauve composition, since he uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Using raw and spontaneous style, de Vlaminck portrays a relaxed and simple man. His use of colors
blends the background to the point where it is indistinguishable, yet outlines features of Bouju s face.
The imprecise yet intentional brushstrokes show the clothing, face, pipe, and smoke only, allowing the
background to be ignored. This work shows the artist s style well, exhibiting the vibrant colors and
distinct brushstrokes of the Fauves. As it was painted in 1900, it shows the clothing style of the period
and the casual acceptance of smoking as a necessity. This piece shows the seemingly calm and
nonchalant nature of the subject, with his street clothes and pipe. I find this work intriguing, as it does
not explicitly show the minute details and features of the man s face, but instead conveys a sense of
tranquility in his demeanor. His stare is not one of judgment or bewilderment, but is instead an

Terrorism Has Plagued The World
While terrorism has plagued the world through many forms since the age of time, it wasn t until the
hijacking of 1972 that caused airports both domestically and internationally to establish airport
security. From one of the first major terrorist attacks on an aircraft in 1955 to the multiple attacks
throughout the 1960s and 70s, for the first time airports were introduced to armed security guards,
metal detectors, and explosive detection canines. Over the next two and half decades, airports also saw
the use of U.S. Marshall s aboard flights, and the installations of X Ray machines for both carry on
and checked luggage. While the measures in place did manage to assist in the arrest of thousands and
prevented a number of attacks from ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Airport security has gone through drastic changes since the 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attack
to insure the safety of passengers traveling domestically and abroad with the creation of the
Transportation Security Administration, updated screening machines, policy and procedures, and
vigorous pat down searches.
Weeks away from the thirteenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World
Trade Center towers, airports across the world are still continuing to operate with higher security
levels with tighter security measures as the threat to jetliners remains constant. These changes have
not been more apparent than in the United States. With the creation of the TSA in November 2001,
one of their first changes to travel policy was for passengers to show up at least two hours early to
ensure there was enough time for the newly reformed security measures. While carry on luggage was
sent through an x ray machine and passengers through metal detectors, passengers and their luggage
were randomly selected by security personnel for additional screening that included a physical search
of the passengers carry on luggage. By September 2002, the TSA had officially assumed responsibility
throughout all domestic airports

Working from Home Essay
Working from home: the disadvantage Tina DiNunzio HRP7110 Human Resources Management Jodi
Smith October 23, 2014 Working from home can sound like a dream come true. However, like any job
situation there are many disadvantages to home employment that may become apparent over time. For
some, this can mean making a few adjustments to make the situation more tolerable. For others, the
disadvantages can be so powerful that they can put an end to the home office (Provenzano). As
technology, apps and costs bring people to conclude that working from home would be the best
situation, it s very important to consider the disadvantages of working from home, as these are often
forgotten. These negative aspects can actually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The problem is that by working from home, you tend to take yourself out of the running for
promotions and work rewards (Turcotte). You will also find that in many cases, the job that you would
be promoted into can t be done from home so you simply won t be considered for it. This is a non
issue if you are content staying in the same position for the duration of your career. If, however, you
plan on getting ahead and moving up in your career field, then working from home could be a problem
(Turcotte). Home employment is sometimes not taken seriously by prospective employers, and it can
be viewed as a gap in the resume (Provenzano). One of the main reasons people tend to work onsite is
because they love doing it with the goal of getting promoted, so they can climb the corporate ladder. If
you are a freelancer or if you work from home, you might lose sight of these opportunities (Wall). If
you do freelance work, that means you are more of an independent contractor than a regular
employee. Sometimes people with home employment are often looked at as if they don t do real work
(Park). A large majority of the people working at home do not really feel like professionals despite the
size of the work load or opportunities. The main factor here is that, when you re at home, you feel at
home and you may be less motivated to perform the same as you would in a

Threats Of Net Neutrality
Threats
Net Neutrality: There has been a recent push by the government to limit the freedom of the internet
which could affect streaming services. In a nutshell, net neutrality is the idea that all Internet traffic
should be treated equally and that internet providers like Comcast, AT T and Verizon can t be allowed
to play favorites based on business deals. Specifically, they can t block or slow down some websites
and services but not others (forcing sites to pay extra to not have that happen to them). It s about
keeping the Internet a level playing field, the way it s been since the internet began. If net neutrality
were to pass, then customer s would either have their internet usage limited by providers and may
have to pay extra to access

Mercury Contamination
Mercury Mercury is a chemical element of heavy silver and white metal that is liquid at ordinary
temperatures. The main use of mercury is the making of thermometers and barometers. Sometimes
mercury is used as an electrode in the production of batteries. Mercury can be very toxic and harmful
to the human body. If inhaled it can cause destruction to the nervous, digestive, and immune systems
and can even be fatal. Mercury is found in many natural sources such as volcanos, forest fires, and
fossil fuels (coal and petroleum). Studies show power plants to be the largest source of mercury in the
United States. Humans can prevent mercury contamination in several ways. When shopping for items
such as thermometers, try to get them mercury free.

Business Unit 8 P1
Trade Description Act 1968
This Act protects consumers from misleading descriptions which the business has said about their
products and services. It would be a criminal offence if the business trader was to:
Apply a false description about any goods or services
Supply a false description to goods when sold
Give false statements about the provision of services, accommodation or facilities
False trade descriptions
This is when the business says anything that is untrue about the product which is being sold. This
could be the description of the materials in the product or how it was manufactured. It would be a
crime if the seller knows or is reckless about the accuracy of the statement. Example of this would be
a business saying that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
If this involves a customer this would come under the trade description Act. If it is a private contract
between individuals, or between companies it will come under the Misrepresentation act 1967.
Example would be a contract between individuals selling a gold iPhone when it wasn t real gold. As
this was a untrue statement the Act would protect the customer. If the trade descriptions was to be used
the business would get fined and it would only to use for consumer law. When using the
Misrepresentation Act would have to be something serious and not over something that is minor as it
wouldn t be worth going to court for.
Fraudulent misrepresentation
This is when the seller deliberately makes false statements of goods and this would be called fraud
which is a criminal offence. Example of this would be someone selling a fake Apple watch and told
the buyer that s its real when it s not. Under the Act, the court would fine the person that sold the
watch. The customer that is affected would be able to cancel the contract and claim their money back.
Innocent misrepresentation
This is when a trader made a false statement of a product or service but believed that the statement
was true. Example of this would be a trader saying that the phone is water proof but it real isn t. this
would be deliberately done, so to make it fair the court would say the contract would have to be

Analysis Of The World Of Doublespeak By William Lutz
In the essay The World of Doublespeak , by William Lutz, the author gives the reader four different
questions to help one identify doublespeak. According to Lutz these questions are, who is saying what
to whom, under what conditions and circumstances, with what intent, and with what results? (par. 4).
These questions help to distinguish between truthful language and doublespeak. The first question,
who is saying what to whom? focuses on the relationship between the two people. The chance of
doublespeak being present increases greatly when the two people have a negative, or passive
aggressive, relationship. The next question, under what conditions and circumstances? focuses on the
events of what is going on. This question shows up prominently in events such as political rallies and
debates. The third question, with what intent focuses on the underlying goal of the statement. This
question raises the most suspicion, as it makes one really think about whether there is doublespeak
present. The final question what results ties in on the intent. The outcome of the doublespeak will be
different that that of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He explains that the cause of doublespeak is usually to evade making a problematic situation sound
very bad. For example, in 1984 the US State Department announced it would no longer use the word
killing in its annual report on the status of human rights around the world (par. 7). By doing this, it
eludes the readers into believing that the US does not have relations with nations that kill people.
Although the US continues to have relations with nations that kill people, the statements refer to those
nations as those that have unlawful or arbitrary deprivation of life happening instead of murder. This
effect results in tricking the people into false assumptions of the US s relations with other

The Science Of Human Cloning
The science of human cloning is one of the most fascinating entities of the 21st century biology. The
announcement of a cloned sheep ignited an international debate in the late 1990s; two and half
decades later, the debate is still very much alive (Li 1 2). The researchers at the Roslin Institute,
Scotland, announced that they had fruitfully cloned an adult mammal (Caplan 1 3). The procedure
used in cloning is called somatic cell nuclear transfer. It involves the transfer of the genetic code from
the cell of an adult organism into an enucleated organism egg. Over the years, the science of cloning
has found widespread application including human experiments. Ethicists, theologians, scientists,
physicians, legislators, and concerned citizens have intensely debated the idea cloning from
multivariate viewpoints. The National Bioethics Advisory Commission has reviewed with respect to
its implications. It has come up with findings that of interest in this essay, top most being the increased
potential of misuse of cloning by rogue scientists.
A huge number of scientists are not necessarily interested in producing human clones; their primary
goal is to use some exceedingly young embryos to obtain cloned human cells capable of curing
diseases. There is no doubt that cloning provides an array medical possibilities, including
transplanting of vital organs damaged during an accident. Another possible scenario would be the
supposition that a person would become sick with a disease that

The Performance And Reward Management System
Performance ratings is part of the performance and reward management system that used to support
organisations personnel decisions in performance appraisal, promotion, compensation, and employee
development (Yun, Donahus, Dudley, McFarland, 2005). Accurate performance ratings are
fundamental to the success or failure of the performance management process, therefore, raters have
been suggested to be fully trained to minimise potential errors in performance ratings (Biron,
Farndale, Paauwe, 2011). Several rater training programs have been developed to enhance the quality
of performance ratings, such as rater error training and frame of reference training (MacDonald
Sulsky, 2009). Nevertheless, not all rater training programs have been equally successful, many
researchers have demonstrated the effectiveness of frame of reference training in increasing rating
accuracy (Woehr, 1994; Keown Gerrard Sulsky, 2001; Roch, Woehr, Mishra, Kieszczynska, 2012).
The following will assess the effectiveness of frame of reference training in increasing rating quality
through comprehensive examination of its validity, accuracy and reliability.
Explanation for Frame of Reference Training
Early approaches to rater training were focused mainly on reducing raters common errors,
(MacDonald Sulsky, 2009). However, rater error training has been proven ineffective in actual
application. Researchers have found that rater error training may teach raters to use inappropriate

This castes system makes it extremely difficult for one to change social classes. Women also have a problem when trying to break into the workplace, because it is something that is seen as taboo. I recall in a TED TALK that was shown in a class of mine, it showed how women and lower class citizens of India were learning about IT and how they were being taught simple key logging types of work in hopes of the availability of the jobs will help balance the distribution of income through the lower classes. The key sectors of the company in India are listed as agriculture (17.4%), industry (25.8%), and services (56.9%). Many belonging to the lower class in India are farmers and they spend quite some time selling their produce which proves to be a difficult tasks since many rural areas do not have the means to provide efficient transportation (i.e. underdeveloped roads). Courage is The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe Essay example Courage is The Right Stuff by Tom Wolfe Tom Wolfe s novel The Right Stuff, gives an accurate description into the lives of the first astronauts and rocket powered aircraft test pilots, from their careers before, during, and after their selection to become astronauts, through to their private home lives. All throughout his book, Wolfe refers to the right stuff and this righteous stuff without ever saying upfront what the stuff really is. While telling this part of his story, Wolfe is always telling about the reference into Shepard s training and comparing it to the actual flight that was taking place, even the humorous instance when Shepard needed to relieve his bladder . Overall, that flight experience, according to Wolfe, was not as intense as the training that Shepard had gone through. The routine of the training program kept Shepard s mind on the job throughout the flight and allowed him to accomplish the flight tests that he was sent up there to do. He kept going over the program of events in his head knowing exactly how much time he had to accomplish each task before he had to move onto the next task. Another example of how training proved to accompany courage as the right stuff is when test pilot Chuck Yeager was flying the rocket powered NF 104 when the aircraft went into a flat spin and he lost control of it. While the aircraft was plummeting down to Earth from 104,000 feet at 150 per second, Yeager was able to stay calm and run through all the scenarios that he had been trained in, and then some extra attempts to restart the aircraft and save it from destruction instead of ... The rhyme scheme in each stanza is ABBACDCDEE. This is a dramatic poem where the speaker and his lover are in bed together. The speaker personifies the sun, and is speaking to it throughout the poem. As the sunlight comes through the windows, the speaker tells the sun to leave them alone. He seems to feel that their life together is complete, and that the sun is being a nuisance. He then tells the sun that his lover is worth more than anything the sun can ever find outside their bedroom. The sunrise has provoked the speaker to speak. The sun is symbolic of an intruder. He gets right to the point of the poem in the very first sentence, maybe because the sun has woken him up, and he wants his readers to think that this was the very first thing on his mind. Even though he is being arrogant, he is forced to admit that without the sun, he would not be able to see his lover. His attitude then seems to change again when he says, If her eyes have not blinded thine. From this point on, he focuses less on the sun and more on his lover and their situation together. He is saying that his lover and himself are the center of the world. As we move on to the third stanza, the speaker s conceit continues. The first two lines imply that the lovers are every state, everywhere. He says, and all princes, I, nothing else. He seems to believe that he has all control. When the speaker says, Princes do but play us....All wealth alchemy, he believes that nothing or no one else matters besides him and his lover. • 15. Death And The King s Horseman Analysis Sarah Goodson Dr. Babcock ENG 239 28 September 2017 Prompt 1 In Wole Soyinka s play, Death and the King s Horseman, the English presence in Nigeria is well established. As each scene goes by the audience can feel European colonialism lurking heavily in the background. With this English influence on the Yoruba people the community is swept with unsteadiness and conflict. The dominant events in Soyinka s play symbolize a larger conflict; although the English believe they are shedding light and bringing progress to the Nigerians, the Nigerians don t welcome these foreigners and only wish to continue their cultural ways in peace. Soyinka argues that although the English believe what they are doing is necessary, they are the ones who are intruding on someone else s culture and they should respect that, no matter how uncivilized or odd it may seem. Not accepting and misunderstanding one another s culture is a leading conflict in this play. The Yoruba community has very different beliefs on death compared to the English. When speaking of death, Elesin states: When the hour comes watch me dance along the narrowing path gazed by the soles of my great precursors. My soul is eager (Soyinka, 10). In contrast, Jane believes that this view is nonsense. Life should never be thrown away deliberately (Soyinka, 42) The Yoruba community celebrates death and welcomes the afterlife. While the English fear death. This misunderstanding and lack of acceptance of cultural differences leads Pilkings to act on what he thinks is best, when it is not what is best for the community. Throughout the novel the Yoruba culture continually is disrespected by the colonists who invade their community. In the play Pilkings and his wife Jane are dressed in egungun costumes which they confiscated from cult leaders. Amusa pleads with Pilkings and Jane to take them off. They respond saying You don t believe this nonsense do you? I thought you were a good Muslim. ( Soyinka, 19) Jane and Pilkings are surprised that Amusa can still respect the Yoruba culture while believing in something different. Amusa can t stand it any longer and leaves saying I treat egungun with respect before running off ( Soyinka, 20). Amusa represents what Soyinka is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Sigmund Freud s Theory Of Development Emily Bradshaw Professor David Iannaccone Introduction to Psychology December 4th, 2014 Abstract In this research paper, I explained what Sigmund Freud s psychosexual theory of development is and why it is important for the developing child to overcome said conflicts. I also talked about the different effects of not overcoming the conflicts Freud had determined that would lead to adult behaviors. Over the years, Sigmund Freud has created many theories involving many different ideas in the psychological world. One theory that stood out to me throughout our journey in introduction to psychology is Freud s developmental theory. Freud s development theory is the influence that sexual growth has on personality development from birth to adult life, with the phases of sexual maturation designated as oral, anal, phallic, latency, and genital. (psychosexual development. (n.d.). The American Heritage® Stedman s Medical Dictionary. ) This theory stood out to me the most because I feel that Freud has a very unique idea of how we, as humans, develop and how almost every stage refers to a different growth, yet all involve sexual ideas. Sigmund Freud was said to believe that once a child reached adulthood at eighteen years of age that they were fully grown. Many psychologists have went against this theory however to discover that humans do not stop growing at eighteen. All the stages of psychosexual development have a conflict in which has to be resolved or the child will have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There is a great distinction between the young man s unappreciative demeanor in Shirley Caesar s song No Charge and Shakur s honorable acknowledgement in his song Dear Mama . From beginning to end, Shakur lyrically unfolds sincere gratitude toward his mother. In fact, in the very first line he strongly emphasizes You are appreciated , highlighting the theme appreciation . The artist repetitively quotes this line throughout the song to effectively remind his listeners of his gratefulness to have a valuable mother. In the first verse of the song, Shakur informs the audience of a pessimistic aspect of his life, where he is thrown out of the house. Yet, he still yearns to see his mother and shows a nostalgic attitude toward the situation. Despite the fact that his mother is a crack addict Shakur portrays her as a black queen , displaying great esteem for what she means to him as her son. Sung by an anonymous voice, the chorus itself relatively personifies the appreciation he has towards his mother. In the second verse the artist expresses feelings of enmity towards his father who was not there for him. This allows me as a listener to conclude that Shakur s mother had to play the role of both a mother and father which further elevates a higher appreciation for his love towards her. If an ex employee s lawyer, looking for evidence of a wrongful termination, sees a lack of consistency in the employee s personnel files or a lack or records at all, employers should consider that blood on the water. Another very important consideration is whether an employee slated for possible termination is a member of a protected class. Federal law prohibits discrimination based on a number of factors such as race, color, religion, national origin, sex, pregnancy, age, disability, or citizenship.State and local laws also can provide additional protection to employees. For example, no federal law currently protects against discrimination based on sexual orientation but a large number of states do. • 20. Student Athletes And High School Athletics A 2016 study by the NCAA revealed that there are nearly eight million students who participate in high school athletics in the United States, yet only 480,000 of them will compete at NCAA schools ( Probability of Competing Beyond High School ). Of that approximate 16% who become a student athlete, an even smaller percent will graduate and become professional athletes. For example, data from the 2015 NFL Draft demonstrates that there is less than a 2% chance of playing in the NFL. During the 2015 Draft, there were 72,788 NCAA football participants, only 16,175 of those were draft eligible for the 256 slots which equates to a 1.6% chance of being drafted to the NFL. According to the NCAA, of the 256 NCAA players selected in the 2015 NFL draft 236 were from Division I FBS institutions, 17 were from Division I FCS programs, two were from Division II programs, and only one was from a Division III program. Student athletes from the power five conferences accounted for for 200 of the 256 draft picks (SEC=54, ACC=47, Pac 12=39, Big Ten=35, Big 12=25) ( Probability of Competing Beyond High School , 2016). With there being a small percentage of playing professional sports after college, the importance of a college degree has become a priority for many student athletes. Due to the Student Right to Know act from 1990, all colleges and universities are required by NCAA legislation and federal law to report student graduation rates ( Graduation Rates , 2016). Steven failed to do several things as a Project Manager. He failed to deliver the product on time and within budget, as well as managing expectations. His failures were a result of poor planning, prompt or advance requesting of resources, and a failure to communicate with his team, management and the end user. Steve s job as the PM is to monitor progress, ensure key stakeholders keep their people focused on the task and prevent delays, or if delays occur communicate those issues to management. Managing stake holders and keeping them focused on requirements and due dates goes a long way towards preventing problems. Steve seems to have failed at this. 2b. • 22. Pont Saint-Michel By Matisse The first of the three, and my personal favorite, is Pont Saint Michel by Matisse. This piece is very simple, yet has a calming and elegant color scheme and medium. This oil on canvas cityscape uses rough brushstrokes and very few exact lines in order to show an inexact representation of the bridge and its surrounding buildings. The buildings have very little true form, and seem to blend into one another. Their colors are mostly primary, with reds, yellows, and blues standing out the most. These aspects all intertwine in order to show an imperfect representation of a view that Matisse saw nearly every day out of his window. Since Matisse painted this scene multiple times throughout the years that he lived in this building, the transformation in his art styles is apparent. Therefore, this painting shows his transition toward a Fauve composition, since he uses ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Using raw and spontaneous style, de Vlaminck portrays a relaxed and simple man. His use of colors blends the background to the point where it is indistinguishable, yet outlines features of Bouju s face. The imprecise yet intentional brushstrokes show the clothing, face, pipe, and smoke only, allowing the background to be ignored. This work shows the artist s style well, exhibiting the vibrant colors and distinct brushstrokes of the Fauves. As it was painted in 1900, it shows the clothing style of the period and the casual acceptance of smoking as a necessity. This piece shows the seemingly calm and nonchalant nature of the subject, with his street clothes and pipe. I find this work intriguing, as it does not explicitly show the minute details and features of the man s face, but instead conveys a sense of tranquility in his demeanor. Airport security has gone through drastic changes since the 2001 World Trade Center terrorist attack to insure the safety of passengers traveling domestically and abroad with the creation of the Transportation Security Administration, updated screening machines, policy and procedures, and vigorous pat down searches. Weeks away from the thirteenth anniversary of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attack on the World Trade Center towers, airports across the world are still continuing to operate with higher security levels with tighter security measures as the threat to jetliners remains constant. These changes have not been more apparent than in the United States. With the creation of the TSA in November 2001, one of their first changes to travel policy was for passengers to show up at least two hours early to ensure there was enough time for the newly reformed security measures. While carry on luggage was sent through an x ray machine and passengers through metal detectors, passengers and their luggage were randomly selected by security personnel for additional screening that included a physical search of the passengers carry on luggage. • 29. Analysis Of The World Of Doublespeak By William Lutz In the essay The World of Doublespeak , by William Lutz, the author gives the reader four different questions to help one identify doublespeak. According to Lutz these questions are, who is saying what to whom, under what conditions and circumstances, with what intent, and with what results? (par. 4). These questions help to distinguish between truthful language and doublespeak. The first question, who is saying what to whom? focuses on the relationship between the two people. The chance of doublespeak being present increases greatly when the two people have a negative, or passive aggressive, relationship. The next question, under what conditions and circumstances? focuses on the events of what is going on. This question shows up prominently in events such as political rallies and debates. The third question, with what intent focuses on the underlying goal of the statement. This question raises the most suspicion, as it makes one really think about whether there is doublespeak present. The final question what results ties in on the intent. The outcome of the doublespeak will be different that that of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... By doing this, it eludes the readers into believing that the US does not have relations with nations that kill people. • 30. The Science Of Human Cloning The science of human cloning is one of the most fascinating entities of the 21st century biology. The announcement of a cloned sheep ignited an international debate in the late 1990s; two and half decades later, the debate is still very much alive (Li 1 2). The researchers at the Roslin Institute, Scotland, announced that they had fruitfully cloned an adult mammal (Caplan 1 3). The procedure used in cloning is called somatic cell nuclear transfer. It involves the transfer of the genetic code from the cell of an adult organism into an enucleated organism egg. Over the years, the science of cloning has found widespread application including human experiments. Ethicists, theologians, scientists, physicians, legislators, and concerned citizens have intensely debated the idea cloning from multivariate viewpoints. The National Bioethics Advisory Commission has reviewed with respect to its implications. It has come up with findings that of interest in this essay, top most being the increased potential of misuse of cloning by rogue scientists. A huge number of scientists are not necessarily interested in producing human clones; their primary goal is to use some exceedingly young embryos to obtain cloned human cells capable of curing diseases. There is no doubt that cloning provides an array medical possibilities, including transplanting of vital organs damaged during an accident. • 31. The Performance And Reward Management System Performance ratings is part of the performance and reward management system that used to support organisations personnel decisions in performance appraisal, promotion, compensation, and employee development (Yun, Donahus, Dudley, McFarland, 2005). Accurate performance ratings are fundamental to the success or failure of the performance management process, therefore, raters have been suggested to be fully trained to minimise potential errors in performance ratings (Biron, Farndale, Paauwe, 2011). Several rater training programs have been developed to enhance the quality of performance ratings, such as rater error training and frame of reference training (MacDonald Sulsky, 2009). Nevertheless, not all rater training programs have been equally successful, many researchers have demonstrated the effectiveness of frame of reference training in increasing rating accuracy (Woehr, 1994; Keown Gerrard Sulsky, 2001; Roch, Woehr, Mishra, Kieszczynska, 2012). The following will assess the effectiveness of frame of reference training in increasing rating quality through comprehensive examination of its validity, accuracy and reliability. Explanation for Frame of Reference Training Early approaches to rater training were focused mainly on reducing raters common errors, (MacDonald Sulsky, 2009). However, rater error training has been proven ineffective in actual application. Researchers have found that rater error training may teach raters to use inappropriate response ...
