Ex-Convict Interview
RESEARCH UNDERTAKEN For the research and development process I interviewed an ex convict.
I got the idea for this story from someone who underwent both lung and live kidney donation. Initially
the RAF played a role in my story, but I ended up cutting it most of it from the script. I did, however
in preparation, interview a current worker and a retired to gain contrast within the years. I spoke to
nurses, and other transplant patients alike. Both lung patients and kidney patients who were waiting,
and those who d had their transplant and were fighting fit. The difference was compelling to see and I
wanted to portray this in the script, and to try and promote the positives of organ donation. I was also
lucky enough to interview a kidney transplant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I found researching this area extremely interesting and the depth of information is endless, but the best
research I felt that gave me the most out of what I needed, were the interviews. Learning about the
characters I wanted to portray but the true feelings of real people who were in the situation of waiting
as well as their families. How they felt watching their loved one get sick and there was nothing they
could do and I wanted to develop this further. I gained many ideas from the ex convict and stories
from transplant patients. All these were so inspiring; I had to combine them and thus, developed many
ideas. Jackson s character was the hardest because during the many interviews I got to know him on a
personal level and didn t want to use everything that was real, I needed my own, but what I thought of
doing, I later found out was part of his life. I had thought about making him the antagonist with a view
to control Aimee after part of him was embedded in her body but in a last attempt I tried with him
loving her and saving the day to which he fully redeems himself and deserves to be happy as does

Behavior Management Strategies
1.Different schools of thought provide perspectives on behavior and behavior management. Chapter 1,
Basic Concepts of Behavior and Behavior Management, presented an overview of behavioral,
psychological, and sociological approaches to behavior management. Compare two of these
approaches and explain how their perspectives are similar or different with regard to behavior,
behavior problems, discipline, attitude, responsibility, and consequences.
This candidate believes that the behavioral approach and the psychoanalytic approaches have a few
similarities and differences, when it comes to behavior management. Why do people behave the way
they do is a statement that this candidate has pondered upon, prior to this class. (Zirpoli,2008). The ...

3. One of a teacher s responsibilities is to create a safe and orderly environment for his/her students.
Ensuring this type of environment is likely to require disciplining students from time to time.
Referring to Chapter 2, Legal Considerations for Schools, describe two or more legal mandates with
regard to disciplining students. Then explain how these mandates are similar to or different from legal
considerations for students with disabilities.
According to Zirpoli, The teaching staff and administrators have the authority to not only to teach, but
to also guide and discipline their student (2008). This candidate believes that it is the teacher s job to
set standards and expectations for students, thus providing a good learning environment. This
candidate understands that there are no perfect classrooms and that this candidate would have work
with various personalities. This candidate also believes that teachers must be prepared to provide fair
and reasonable discipline to their students. Teachers have a duty to see that school order is maintained
by requiring students to obey reasonable rules and commands, respect the rights of others, and behave
in an appropriate manner. (Zirpoli, 2008). This mandate states that there are responsibilities of the
students. This candidate believes that it is important for

The Internet and User Content Essay
In the January 18th, 2012 New York Times article The False Ideals of the Web , Jaron Lanier attempts
to take a very difficult issue one that many view in terms of black or white and find some middle
ground. Unfortunately, what he ends up doing in the article is create an either/or situation, rather than
find any middle ground. In the end we are left in the same situation that we started with. In the first
paragraph, Jaron appeals to the pathos of the reader; he assumes that the reader is of the generation
that has grown up in the digital age, thus they would agree that the most important aspect of the
internet is the people who contribute to it. However, there is no reason to ever assume that. Some
people may actually believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He assumes that the reader will accept his word that the legislation deals with this issue using the
mentioned method. In a way, this can be considered a bandwagon fallacy, in that we re supposed to
accept that because he and his colleagues think the bill uses draconion methods, it does in fact use
them. Without support for this statement, there is no reason to ever believe what the author has said. In
addition, the author appeals to the readers ethos, as well as an appeal to authority, in that we re
expected to accept the opinions of these people, simply because the author says we should. The author
then goes on to state, Those rare tech companies that have come out in support of SOPA are not
merely criticized but barred from industry events and subject to boycotts. We, the keepers of the flame
of free speech, are banishing people for their speech. The result is a chilling atmosphere, with people
afraid to speak their minds. It s hard to see, but this is definitely a fallacy of equivocation. The author
is comparing the corporations who wish to make it illegal to upload user content if it contains anything
they have made. Under this model, electronic musicians would not be allowed to make the music they
make, simply because they use samples from other artists. Under this model, Apple would not be
allowed to distribute their operating system, simply because they have used code from FreeBSD.

Hinder Social Development
Through the use of social media, we can connect with friends and family and be informed of what is
currently happening in the world. Social media can have its positives and negatives. Social
development can be interrupted because of the media. The use of social media can hinder social
development because it causes health issues, makes you feel lonely and causes anxiety.
The use of social media can hinder social development because it causes health issues. In the article,
Social Networking: Failure to Connect it states, Reports of cyber bullying, happy slapping, even self
harm and suicide attempts motivated by social networking sites have become increasingly common in
the eight years since Friendster and then Myspace, Bebo and Facebook launched. In other words,
different types of health concerns have been reported due to social media. These health issues are
caused by negativity and negligence that the media has caused. Social development is affected
because of these issues. The media makes people, especially teenagers, do things against their health

their status updates, just as they agonize over what to say in person. In other words, the media puts a
lot of stress and pressure on people. Many people stress over the small amount of friends that they
have and compare that number to other people. A lot of pressure is present of what to write on your

Friends Stereotypes
Jennifer Aniston, Matt LeBlanc, and Matthew Perry are just a few of the many stars in the hit
television series Friends, that strives to bring awareness to the hardships of adulthood, while also
exposing stereotypes. The show features six adults with an unbreakable friendship, who live in an
apartment building in Manhattan, New York City.
In each episode of this show, a new and unexpected event occurs to each one of the characters, that
will keep you guessing and dying to know what s going to happen next. Each episode is its own story,
and is not based off one another, so the worry of getting behind on this series is non existent. There are

who would rather live each day to the fullest than have regrets. The fifth main character is the
fashionable, selfish, and confused Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston). Rachel s job is at Ralph Lauren,

Analysis Of The Book War By Sebastian Junger
There is a very large majority of material written and taken down about the Iraq/Afghan war, and our
libraries hold majority of these works of literature. This is a book review of the book War which is
authored by Sebastian Junger and published by Hatchett Book Group in May of 2010. Sebastian
Junger was an embedded reporter with the 2nd Platoon, Battle Company of the 173rd Airborne
Brigade for Vanity Fair magazine, and was entirely dependent on the U.S. military for food, shelter,
security, and transportation.1
This book is the result of five trips taken to Korengal Valley in eastern Afghanistan that were taken
between June 2007 and June 2008. Junger states that he was never asked directly or indirectly to alter
his reporting in any way or to show the contents of his camera. Junger is an American citizen and has
recollections of the terrorist s attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. With this in mind, it
could be cause for some bias reporting that may be presented and talked about through this book
review.
This memoir was written for the main reason of Junger being interested in Americans in Afghanistan.
He was interested in what it was like to serve in a platoon of combat infantry in the
U.S. Army.2 With this memoir in mind, Junger wanted to reach the American citizens as his audience
to show just what mindset the American soldiers were placed in during their time in Afghanistan.
Junger states that the moral basis of the war didn t seem to interest

Ops 571 Statistical Process Control
Chase, Jacobs and Aquilano pose questions such as, How many paint defects are there in the finish of
a car? [and] Have we improved our painting process by installing a new sprayer? These questions are
meant to investigate and apply different techniques that we can use to improve the quality of life.
Quality control not only applies to manufacturing techniques, it can also be applied to everyday life.
This discussion will focus on a specific method of quality control called statistical process control that
will ensure my morning process is effective.
One method of quality control can be pursued through process control procedures like statistical
process control or SPC. SPC involves testing a random sample of output from a process to ... Show

UCL = p + z Sp
UCL = p + 3Sp
UCL = .08333 + 3(.05050) = .23483
LCL = p z Sp
LCL = p 3Sp
LCL = .08333 − 3(.05050) = .06817
In the control chart, the data from the sample stays in between the controls. This means that my
process in the morning is working properly and is effective. Now, it is important to look to the future
trends in order to predict seasonal factors. A seasonal factor is the amount of correction needed in a
time series to adjust for the season of the year. (Chase, Jacobs amp; Anquilano, 533) Seasonal factors
may affect the samples by taking into consideration factor based on seasons or time periods. The
alarm clock that is used to wake me up in the morning is not dependent on any factors of time or
season.
Statistical process control is one way to control quality and make sure goals are attained. Statistical
methods show that the samples taken can create visual representations that conclude my alarm clock is
an effective method to starting my morning process. This ensures that it is operating at its fullest
potential.

Democracy Vs Democracy
Many different ideologies have been practiced throughout history and many have failed to work. The
ideology that I think has created the most success for the government and its people is democracy. The
definition of democracy is a political system of mass participation, competitive elections, and human
and civil rights (Roskin 88). This is the clear definition of democracy, but there are many different
forms for example there is a representative democracy and illiberal democracy. These follow the same
guideline of democracy, but have there own individual definition. Unfortunately, there is no perfect
form of because for the to happen you would have to have perfect human beings. The democracy we
have in the United States is far from a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The winner would be determined by popular vote because it make things less complicated. After the
people vote the candidate in they would then be able to vote on certain issues they would like the
government to fix or get rid of. The voting would be direct because then the people would be voting
on exactly what they want. The indirect way of voting allows for the people in power to manipulate
the issue to the benefit of the government and that s not they it should be. The government would
control all of the international business that doesn t directly affect the people in my country. The
government would also be allowed to declare war if the people s safety is put in immediate danger.
They would have this power because if the country is being threatened there wouldn t be time to vote
on the issue. This ideology wouldn t be necessarily all right wing, but probably in between middle and
right on the spectrum. The people don t have total control over the government, but majority of the
power is with the people because the idea that government needs total control has created societies not
so favorable for the people.
In nation building the first obstacle in nation building is identity crisis. This is when people do not
consider themselves to be apart of a nation. Many countries in Africa today have tribes that do not

The Minds Of Serial Killers
Penetrating into the skull of a young boy he began to transmit a flow of sulfuric acid into the head of
his benumbed victim to construct a zombie to fulfill all of his fantasies. Dead within a day, he
macerated the head of his victim, placing it into a cooler next to the skulls of those who came before.
Dismembering the remains of the corpse he arranged skin, bone, and blood into a thirty gallon cask of
acid dissolving what remained of the young boy. This is the dark mind of Jeffrey Dahmer, he
murdered not in hatred, vengeance, or financial enrichment but on pure impulse and lust. Forensic
psychoanalysts have picked apart the minds of serial killers to find answers as to what causes them to
carry out such perverse acts.
Many believe it is impervious for an innocent adolescent to be born with the capability to commit a
heinous act suchlike murder. But how could we depraved humanity so much as to turn an innocent
child into a homicidal lunatic? This theory has been long disputed by psychologists and criminologists
alike, who continuously bicker over whether or not these degenerates should be damned for their acts
or granted amnesty for being born with an attribute beyond their control. Serial murderers are some of
the most terrifying yet brilliant human beings in history due to their ability to kill numerous amounts
of people and still have no remorse for their tormented victims.
For some reason, I was never all that afflicted by the terrors of the cinema. While appealing,

Quality And Safe Product Approval System
1. Objective
To undertake a critical review of the current product check and release processes to ensure a robust,
high quality and safe product approval system is in place to safeguard patient safety and to ensure

The aseptic preparation of products at Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust
(NLAG) is carried out in an unlicensed unit under Section 10 exemption of the Medicines Act 1968.

It provides a proposed product approval/Pharmacist supervision model that has been attached in
Appendix 1.
Final product accuracy check and release at NLAG is undertaken by the Authorised Pharmacist
(usually band 7 or above). The Authorised Pharmacist also undertakes the clinical checks/screening of
the prescriptions. It has been discussed that undertaking these checks by different pharmacists will add
an extra safety check in the process and there is a plan for separation of these roles in the near future.
The plan is to have a Clinical Pharmacist undertaking the clinical checks in the clinical area and an
Authorised Pharmacist in the Aseptic Unit undertaking the product check and approval (release).
Another proposal has been suggested following this analysis.
There are some concerns regarding separation of the roles as the staff who may be involved in
approving products (band 6 pharmacists) have a lack of knowledge and skills in aseptics. There is also
a need for cost effective working and flexibility within the service, including appropriate skill mix.
This all emphasises a requirement for this critical analysis to ensure that a robust product check and
release is undertaken.
Although errors in the preparation of injectable medicines within pharmacy aseptic environments are

Yellow Dung Fly Breeding
Success of male yellow dung fly breeding.
Introduction
Looking at the yellow dung fly, Scathophaga stercoraria, it is seen that the species experiences sexual
dimorphism in the form of both size and colour. This gives changes between the males and females
that are specially adapted to give them the best chance of producing offspring. Males are considerably
larger than the females and have clearly defining yellow hair along the abdomen, whereas females are
smaller and are more of an olive green colour. Copulation for this species occurs on large mammal
faeces as it acts as a source of nutrition for larvae once eggs are hatched. The right to breed with a
female is highly competitive among yellow dung flies and only the most suited mate or the most
opportunistic mate will be able to pass on its sperm. Assessing the size of males is key when looking
at the mating probability of the yellow dung fly ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mean HTL of the 4 different male yellow dung fly categories. The mean size for males found on the
faeces is clearly larger than those off the pat, and the mean HTL is the largest in paired males on the
pat.
Looking at Fig 1. it can be speculated that larger males are more successful at copulating, however
with the data presented there is not a large enough sample size over the two sites to confirm this.
Males on the pat are larger on both instances compared to males off the pat but due to overlapping of
error bars, it cannot be stated with confidence that they are indeed more successful. The only
statement that can be made with confidence is that paired males on the pat are considerably larger than
solo males off the pat, this can be stated as the error bars do not overlap. With only one sample of
paired males off the pat, there is no way to know if error bars would overlap with any other group if
the sample size was larger. The paired males off the pat then can be only taken as an estimation
because of this.

A Battle Of Endings By James Cameron
Sundiata Short Essay Andrew Davis Professor Benander Topics in Literature 4 November 2012 A
Battle of Endings It is widely believed that the ending makes the story. What would Titanic, the movie
by James Cameron, be without its ending? In the epics of Kirikou and Sundiata, we see two distinctly
different endings that would cause different responses from different audiences. The Treatment of the
villain is significant in the end because it brings into question the judgment of the hero. Examining
how others respond to the shadow is important because it allows people to examine what they would
do to treat the shadow who wronged others. A modern teenage Disney audience would be more
satisfied with the treatment Sundiata gave to his enemies, because Sundiata tries his best to satisfy the
people who were affected by the rule of the shadow. Sundiata s treatment of the enemies should be
established before getting into the argument. Sundiata just wants the shadow out of the way of the
goal of the conquering Mali, but he tries to please his people, the maiden, in serving justice to the
Shadow. Some may argue that Sundiata really wanted to kill Soumaoro because of the treachery he
brought upon Mali. However, Sundiata proves that defeating Mali is more important than killing the
shadow when the book by D.T. Niane of the Longman African Writers states, Straight away the son of

Characteristics Of A Good Teacher Essay
Item One: Write a short essay reflecting on what characteristics make a good teacher, using your own
educational experiences. Without using names, identify the best and worst teacher that you have had
and support your choices with rationales.
What makes a good teacher? Ask this question to one hundred people and one would get one hundred
different answers. I have contemplated this question myself over the course of my twenty years in
education. The ideas that I have about the answer to this question are not the same ones that I had
twenty years ago. In my personal experience being a good teacher is something that I always wanted.
In recent years I have learned that teaching is not about being a good teacher but about striving each
day to be a better teacher than I was the day before.
A good teacher is one who knows her students and her students needs. The students are the reason that
the teacher is there. Classrooms are filled with students from differing backgrounds and families. As a
teacher, one should know her students by talking with them, asking them questions, learning their
likes and dislikes and making them feel safe and comfortable in the classroom. The classroom should
be a safe haven for students where the teacher creates an atmosphere where students feel comfortable
in being themselves and expressing their opinions.
Another characteristic of a good teacher is one who knows her subject and is able to extend that
knowledge to her students. Every

Guantanamo Bay Torture
Is waterboarding suspected terrorists at Guantanamo Bay justifiable in order to save American lives?
For years since the attacks on 9/11, prisoners suspected of terrorist actions have been treated poorly
and taken to bases like Guantanamo Bay where they are interrogated and abused past levels of
legality. This is upsetting how the United States government tortures people only suspected of terrorist
activity. There have been many incidents where innocent people were accused of terrorist activity and
harassed. After the bombing of the Boston Marathon, three innocent muslim men were put in custody

not only waterboarded prisoners, but slammed them into walls, chained them in uncomfortable

American public. In a hypothetical situation, there are many lives at risk and there is a potential
culprit, it is logical to put that person through a near death experience to save lives. It may not be
morally right but the C.I.A. isn t worried about morals as much as American lives. Shane applies the

Broken Window Theory Essay
According to Burns The Broken Window Hypothesis is the belief that order maintenance problems are
perceived by offenders as opportunities to commit additional crimes simply because it appears that
nobody cares about order in that area.
This kind of belief can be very detrimental for the community police relationship. The broken window
theory focuses on the idea that by maintaining order by policing low level offenses this can prevent
more serious crimes. This theory is well known not for resolving and preventing crime but to create
more problems in the way that the community and the police seeing their relationship hampered.

Tolkien s Influences
John Ronald Reuel Tolkien, born in 1892, an English writer, among other things, has had a numerous
number of sources that has influenced him. As a young boy he fell in love with Scandinavia and its
ancient stories (Birzer). His successful and worldwide well known writings, has made him classified
as the father of high fantasy . One of the sources that he was influenced by, was Norse mythology.
Norse mythology was influential to Tolkien when he was creating his envisioning. Sagas and poems
provided his second major influence (Birzer). As a young student, on his own time, Tolkien would
read, and as it was a North Germanic language, translate from the Old Norse. Northern literature

Characters found in Tolkien s literature such as elves and dwarves arise from Norse and other similar
Germanic mythologies. An Old Norse written work from Iceland in the early 13th century, the Prose
Edda, and the contemporary establishment for an unidentified compilation of Old Norse highly
expressive and rhythmical literary pieces, the Poetic Edda, caught Tolkien s attention. Names for
dwarves in Tolkien s The Hobbit, derived from the catalogue in the Poetic Edda (St. Clair, 64).
Another element that influenced Tolkien was Midgard/Middle Earth . The Middle Earth is where
reside creatures such as elves and dwarves and giants. It was a component in the three piece make up
of the universe. The use of the word from Midgard to Middle Earth, is seen for the first time in the
Lay of Earendel, who was one of Tolkien s first characters in his Mythology (Wettstein, 1). The
Middle Earth is an important part in Tolkien s piece of

The Use Of Cosmetics And Its Use In Ancient Rome
Cosmetics, first used in Ancient Rome for ritual purposes, were part of daily life for women,
especially prostitutes and the wealthy. Cosmetics were applied in private, usually in a small room
where men did not enter. Cosmetae, female slaves that adorned their mistresses, were especially
praised for their skills. They would beautify their mistresses with cultus, the Latin word encompassing
makeup, perfume and jewelry.
Scent was also an important factor of beauty. Women who smelled good were presumed to be healthy.
Due to the stench of many of the ingredients used in cosmetics at the time, women often drenched
themselves in copious amounts of perfume.
Christian women tended to avoid cosmetics with the belief that they should praise what God gave
them. Some men, especially cross dressers, did use cosmetics, although it was viewed as effeminate
and improper.
The Journey of Aroma
Perfumes were very popular in Ancient Rome. In fact, they were so heavily used that Cicero claimed
that, The right scent for a woman is none at all. They came in liquid, solid and sticky forms and were
often created in a maceration process with flowers or herbs and oil. Distillation technology, as well as
most of the imported ingredients, originated in the east. The most prominent perfume market in Italy
was Seplasia in Capua. Perfumes were rubbed on or poured onto the user and were often believed to
be helpful against different ailments, such as fever and indigestion. Different scents were

Preparation of Pure Culture
It is necessary to isolate organisms in pure culture before studying and identifying them because a
pure culture originates from one cell.
Characteristics colonies from the original culture on the plates were picked with a sterile wire loop
(using surface streaking method) and this loop was used to make streak of the colony on the surface of
newly prepared sterile agar plates of NA,MA amp; MSA.
These streak will space out the inoculants and discrete colony of a particular specie of organism and
then incubated at 35 37oC for 24hours to enhance microbial growth.
Distinct colonies were re inoculated on another fresh agar plates in order to obtain a pure culture. The
isolates were picked with sterile loop and streaked into prepared agar slants, labeled and incubated for
growth after which they were kept in the refrigerator for future use and identification. Identification of
Isolates
These isolated bacteria were identified using both morphological culture characteristics (i.e. the color,
shape, elevation, capacity, consistency, edge) and biochemical test (i.e. citrate, oxidase, indole, sugar
fermentation, test etc.)and the bacteria were identified based on the results obtained from the above
mentioned biochemical characterization results and the procedures include. Grams Staining

The Muscular Dystrophy Was First Discovered By Guillaume...
Duchenne muscular dystrophy was first discovered by Guillaume Benjamin Amand Duchenne in the
1860 s, but due to lack of medical knowledge little was known until the 1980 s. It was in 1986 that
researchers that were supported by the MDA, muscular dystrophy association, identified the particular
X chromosome that leads to DMD, Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Dystrophin is the protein that is
associated with the gene and was named in 1987.The DMD gene is the second largest gene to date,
and it produces dystrophin.(Genome, 2013) Lack of the protein Dystrophin in the muscle cells causes
them to weaken and become fragile. (MDA, 2015). DMD is an inherited disorder, but there are rare
cases where it can spontaneously appear in a child with no previous family history due to a random
mutation in moms X chromosome. DMD is a gender specific disease that only appears in males.
Females are carriers in their X Chromosome and they have the chance of passing the disease on to
their children, 50 50 to a girl and 50 50 to a boy. If the girl does receive the gene she becomes a
carrier. If the boy gets the gene then he has the disease. Males do not pass on the gene to their children
because they pass on the Y chromosome and the disease is X specific. Some female carriers have
indicators of being a carrier by having symptoms of cardiomyopathy, shortness of breath during
exercise, and muscle weakness in the back, arms, and legs. There have been very rare instances where
a girl has not received a

College Is The Best Way For People
College and Business
College is the best way for people to be successful. A famous journalist, Dan Rater has said, A college
degree is the key to realizing the American dream, well worth the financial sacrifice because it is
supposed to open the door to a world of opportunity. Many people feel lost after they graduated high
school, they don t know what challenge is waiting for them; and they have to make the toughest
decision in their lives: either go to college or go to work, those two choices will completely change
people s lives. Education can improve people s lives, and everybody can be educated by going to
college; with no doubt, going to college will be the wisest decision people ever made. It is important

They don t really care about the salary, most of them just want to explore their interest and develop

value is very important. Students have to take a carefully consideration before they decide to extend
their intended major. As college students, if they choose the right major, that means they will steer
their destiny and have a bright future. Otherwise, if people make an improper decision, they will not
just waste their time and money in college, but also will ruin their lives and future by themselves. In
the other hand, the number of people who choose business as their major is increasing, which means
business is becoming more and more popular and many people start to realize the important of

People used to relate the firms and companies to business, because the use of business is very

The West African Regional War Essay
The West Africa Regional War
For observers of the West Africa regional war, the recent calm in the war torn Mano River Union
(MRU) states Liberia, Sierra Leone, and Guinea has given rise to optimism. Guarded, as this optimism
might be, the decrease in violence in West Africa during the second half of 2001 is an important
development given the scope and intensity of fighting that gripped these states earlier in the year.
While observers agree that the current absence of widespread violent conflict in the MRU is a much
welcomed development, it must not mask the profound cleavages within these societies, the tenuous
nature of the UN imposed peace in Sierra Leone, and the continued serious threat of renewed warfare
in the region. A brief ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The end of the 1990s housed over 500,000 refugees housed in hundreds of camps and settlements in
Guinea, one of the largest refugee populations in the world (U.S. Commission for Refugees, Guinea:
Country Report 1999, www.refugees.org/world/countryrpt/africa/1999/guinea.htm). While the
destabilizing effects on Guinean society of large numbers of Liberian and Sierra Leonean refugees
was profound throughout the 1990s, sustained cross border conflict did not break out between Guinea
and her neighbors until 2000. Cross border attacks into Guinea by Sierra Leone s Revolutionary
United Front (RUF) and various Liberian based rebel groups precipitated a harsh military response
from the Guinean military, which led to thousands of militia and civilian casualties.
Of course, fighting in West Africa during the 1990s was not confined to the MRU states. Serious
bloodshed occurred in Guinea Bissau (1999), the southern Casamance region of Senegal (ongoing),
and Nigeria (ongoing) and conflict threatens to engulf c?te d Ivoire. Sometimes referred to as the arc
of conflict in West Africa, these wars escape simple classification. While the war that started in 1989
in Liberia has become regionalized in the rest of the MRU, the other areas of instability in West Africa
are based on intra state phenomena. Nevertheless, the broader and deeper that instability grows in
West Africa, the greater the risk that conflicts will merge and spread, further

Of The Irresoubleness Of Diamonds, Harmless As Meaned By...
Monica Ferrell a renowned poet and novelist has written works such as, Of the Irresoubleness of
Diamonds, Harmless as Recalled by a Fairy Tale, Gerburt des Monica kinds and Anatomy which
employ grammatical issues throughout them. She uses attributive adjectives, non finite verb strings,
active voice and the known new contract to give an in depth analysis of her poems which she uses
pathos to convey her emotions. By incorporating these grammatical issues into her work, Ferrell
intends to develop a clear and sharp image to ignite the imagination of her readers. In this semester
project, I will present various examples where Ferrell integrates these grammatical concepts and
analyze how they contribute to the overall tone and effectiveness of the poem. Ferrell was born in
New Delhi. She earned her BA from Harvard University and MFA from Columbia University (Poetry
Foundation). She discusses the role of uncertainty in her poems as she states, I m trying to let
something that wants to come into being do so poetry as uncovering, rather than invention or rhetoric,
and a form of devotion and service. (Poetry Foundation) By using several grammar techniques Ferrell
paints a bright image for her readers to ponder upon. She is an atypical poet whose work consists of
strong, lyrical diction that she uses to convey the imagery through her earnest tone. Ferrell s work, Of

Assess The Impact Of Globalization On The Chinese Economy
Globalization is a process that refers to the increased integration between different countries and
economies as well as the increased impact of international influences on all aspects of life and
economic activity. Over the last 50 years, globalization has had a tremendous impact on the Chinese
economy. The impacts brought forth by globalization can be both positive and negative and effect both
economic performance, economic growth and the development of China s economy. Globalization is
the main factor responsible for China s significant growth that has taken place over the last two
decades. However, globalization itself is not entirely responsible. The Chinese economy has also
implemented strategies which have been very effective in promoting economic growth and
development. These strategies include the implantation of Open door policy , Reformation of China s
agricultural system and joining the World Trade Organisation.
The impact of globalization on the Chinese economy can be seen through the increase in economic
performance. Over the last two decades, the Chinese economy has experienced significant economic
growth due to globalization. Globalization is responsible for reducing the barriers to trade and
increasing the integration between different countries and economies. The reduction of trade barriers
as well as the increased integration between different countries and economies resulted in an increase
in foreign investment and international trading which leads

Analysis Of The Joins By Chana Bloch
The poem that I selected for this essay is The Joins by Chana Bloch. The overall meaning of this poem
is that relationships are not always trouble free and can be broken easily, however the relationship can
be put back together again, but the cracks will remain apparent. Although, the cracks in the
relationship can turn out to be an exquisite and can make the relationship stronger than it was before.
Speaker in the poem seems to be a woman who is in a relationship. The speaker s attitude does seem
to change throughout the course of the poem. In the first stanza of the poem, the speaker seems to be
hopeful by saying that relationships should be flexible. In the next three stanzas of the poem, the
speaker seems to be sad at the fact that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the damage is already done and will still bear the scars no matter how hard they try to fix it.
Imagery is significant in this poem, because it helps to emphasize key points in this poems such as the
cracked clay and the art of kintsugi. Also, it helps show the emotional rollercoaster that come with
being in a relationship. A relationship is not just sunshine and lollipops all of the the time. There are
going to be hardships and rough patches and no matter how hard it get, the relationship will get better
in time.
Stanza Form is related to the meaning of this poem, because the stanza form helps the reader to follow
what is happening step by step and helps with the setting the tone for the poem.
This poem is an example of a tercet stanza, which is when each stanza has three lines. By each of the
stanzas being three lines it always the reader to imagine each of the images that the author has created
in each of the stanzas. The poem starts with the relationship being strong at first (flexible), then to the
starting to have crack (being like clay), finally to the cracks in the relationship being conceived as
beautiful and making the relationship stronger, because they didn t give up on the relationship. This is
significant to the meaning of the poem, because it show the various steps in a relationship.
Tone is related to the meaning of this poem, because the tone helps to show the different emotions
attached to each stanza,

Questions On Correct Billing And Coding
In order to be a better or more knowledgeable about correct billing and coding, the coder must first be
aware of the impact of the issues that can occur in a claims process when incorrect information is
documented or coded about the patient.
The main possible impacts of incorrect information in a claim are: rejected claims, down coding of the
bill by the insurance company, loss of payment to the physician and additional audits.
During a patient visit, all that is done for the patient must be transcribed into the correct codes. Along
with these codes, there must be sufficient supporting information documented in the patient record.
When the supporting evidence is not there, that line will either be down coded or the billing being
rejected. A rejected bill requires more time and effort by the physician s staff to correct the issue and
resubmit it. Billing with the correct primary, sub and supporting codes will prevent the extra work and
possible loss of money. This is not just an ethical and financial need to do so, but a legal responsibility.
In many cases, the coder is held responsible for incorrect or erroneous billing.
Correct and Clean Coding Other than the ethical issues of coding, the best methodology to follow is to
code by these three coding guidelines. a) First, code the primary diagnosis, condition or reason for the
visit followed by the co existing, current circumstances. b) Next, with the supporting evidence, code to
the highest level you are most

Critique Of Isang Tikbalang

The story Isang Tikbalang Ka Lang . This was written by Eros Atalia and is about a tikbalang who fell
in love with a human being that he eventually courted. Even though tikbalang did everything he could
to make the girl happy she eventually fell for a guy who is a rich duwende. The story shows the two
types of persons in this world: people who love for them to gain riches and the people who love
because they see something very beautiful in the personality of that person.
Tikbalang shows us the virtue of a typical man who falls in love. He s willing to do give anything to
make the girl fall in love with him. The tikbalang gave her countless gifts of fruits but the she wanted
more than just fruits because she came from a poor family and she wanted money. In the end,
tikbalang s efforts were to no avail when the girl no longer visited him and eventually he received
news that the girl married an old rich duwende.

The Theme Of Social Criticism In The House Of Mirth
The House of Mirth is a novel that condemns the elitist world of women and promotes the idea that
money can t buy happiness. Wharton wanted to present American aristocracy when that aristocracy
was doing so well. The novel highlights each aspect of a person s social behavior because each detail
can have implications. Wharton wanted to mock the society, but also to show the tragedies in it.
Wharton considered New York society to be arrogant, trivial, and ridiculous. The burden of tragedy to
her often a humorous bitter satire of the ways of the wealthy is related with Wharton s personal
connection to this world. She is presenting a good combination of criticism and social satire.
According to Auchincloss, Wharton had a firm grasp of what society, in the smaller sense of the word,
was actually made up of. She understood that it was arbitrary, capricious, and inconsistent; she was
aware that it did not hesitate to abolish its standards while most loudly proclaiming them. She knew
money could open doors and when it couldn t, when lineage would serve and when it could be merely
sneered at. Auchincloss continued: She realized that the social game was ... Show more content on

Taking a Stand on Land, Forest, Wildlife Management
From the age of 15 I have had a job and was always better at work than school. It wasn t until recently
that I decided I need a change, so I chose to start college. My love of fishing and the outdoors made
the decision easy when it came to choosing my major, Land Forestry Wildlife Management. Although
the decision came easy and I feel it is the right career for me, there are many issues, positive and
negative, related to my field. Land, Forest, Wildlife Management does a lot of good for people and
animals but can also hurt. Prescribed burning, wildlife control and forest management are all big
issues related to the field. Prescribed burning, also called controlled burns, has many purposes. The
American Indians set fire to stimulate the development of plants and keep areas open to produce food
(Minnesota Department of Natural Resources). Prescribed fires help improve wildlife habitat and soil
quality. After the burns, the brush grows back greener and lusher, providing nesting areas for creatures
such as deer. In addition, prescribed fires are a cheaper way to manage vegetation as they require no
bulldozing, cutting, or chemicals (Minnesota Department of Natural Resources). Many argue that
prescribed burning is dangerous, but so are other things, including some things people do on a daily
basis. For instance, driving a car. Just starting the car alone creates a spark that ignites combustion in
the cylinders. A spark combined with gasoline in the car is a dangerous

  • 2. Ex-Convict Interview RESEARCH UNDERTAKEN For the research and development process I interviewed an ex convict. I got the idea for this story from someone who underwent both lung and live kidney donation. Initially the RAF played a role in my story, but I ended up cutting it most of it from the script. I did, however in preparation, interview a current worker and a retired to gain contrast within the years. I spoke to nurses, and other transplant patients alike. Both lung patients and kidney patients who were waiting, and those who d had their transplant and were fighting fit. The difference was compelling to see and I wanted to portray this in the script, and to try and promote the positives of organ donation. I was also lucky enough to interview a kidney transplant ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I found researching this area extremely interesting and the depth of information is endless, but the best research I felt that gave me the most out of what I needed, were the interviews. Learning about the characters I wanted to portray but the true feelings of real people who were in the situation of waiting as well as their families. How they felt watching their loved one get sick and there was nothing they could do and I wanted to develop this further. I gained many ideas from the ex convict and stories from transplant patients. All these were so inspiring; I had to combine them and thus, developed many ideas. Jackson s character was the hardest because during the many interviews I got to know him on a personal level and didn t want to use everything that was real, I needed my own, but what I thought of doing, I later found out was part of his life. I had thought about making him the antagonist with a view to control Aimee after part of him was embedded in her body but in a last attempt I tried with him loving her and saving the day to which he fully redeems himself and deserves to be happy as does Aimee and her ... Chapter 1, Basic Concepts of Behavior and Behavior Management, presented an overview of behavioral, psychological, and sociological approaches to behavior management. Compare two of these approaches and explain how their perspectives are similar or different with regard to behavior, behavior problems, discipline, attitude, responsibility, and consequences. This candidate believes that the behavioral approach and the psychoanalytic approaches have a few similarities and differences, when it comes to behavior management. Why do people behave the way they do is a statement that this candidate has pondered upon, prior to this class. (Zirpoli,2008). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He still continues to act out, but we will not give up on this student. 3. One of a teacher s responsibilities is to create a safe and orderly environment for his/her students. Ensuring this type of environment is likely to require disciplining students from time to time. Referring to Chapter 2, Legal Considerations for Schools, describe two or more legal mandates with regard to disciplining students. Then explain how these mandates are similar to or different from legal considerations for students with disabilities. According to Zirpoli, The teaching staff and administrators have the authority to not only to teach, but to also guide and discipline their student (2008). This candidate believes that it is the teacher s job to set standards and expectations for students, thus providing a good learning environment. This candidate understands that there are no perfect classrooms and that this candidate would have work with various personalities. This candidate also believes that teachers must be prepared to provide fair and reasonable discipline to their students. • 4. The Internet and User Content Essay In the January 18th, 2012 New York Times article The False Ideals of the Web , Jaron Lanier attempts to take a very difficult issue one that many view in terms of black or white and find some middle ground. Unfortunately, what he ends up doing in the article is create an either/or situation, rather than find any middle ground. In the end we are left in the same situation that we started with. In the first paragraph, Jaron appeals to the pathos of the reader; he assumes that the reader is of the generation that has grown up in the digital age, thus they would agree that the most important aspect of the internet is the people who contribute to it. However, there is no reason to ever assume that. Some people may actually believe that ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... He assumes that the reader will accept his word that the legislation deals with this issue using the mentioned method. In a way, this can be considered a bandwagon fallacy, in that we re supposed to accept that because he and his colleagues think the bill uses draconion methods, it does in fact use them. Without support for this statement, there is no reason to ever believe what the author has said. In addition, the author appeals to the readers ethos, as well as an appeal to authority, in that we re expected to accept the opinions of these people, simply because the author says we should. The author then goes on to state, Those rare tech companies that have come out in support of SOPA are not merely criticized but barred from industry events and subject to boycotts. We, the keepers of the flame of free speech, are banishing people for their speech. The result is a chilling atmosphere, with people afraid to speak their minds. It s hard to see, but this is definitely a fallacy of equivocation. The author is comparing the corporations who wish to make it illegal to upload user content if it contains anything they have made. Under this model, electronic musicians would not be allowed to make the music they make, simply because they use samples from other artists. Under this model, Apple would not be allowed to distribute their operating system, simply because they have used code from FreeBSD. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 8. Analysis Of The Book War By Sebastian Junger There is a very large majority of material written and taken down about the Iraq/Afghan war, and our libraries hold majority of these works of literature. This is a book review of the book War which is authored by Sebastian Junger and published by Hatchett Book Group in May of 2010. Sebastian Junger was an embedded reporter with the 2nd Platoon, Battle Company of the 173rd Airborne Brigade for Vanity Fair magazine, and was entirely dependent on the U.S. military for food, shelter, security, and transportation.1 This book is the result of five trips taken to Korengal Valley in eastern Afghanistan that were taken between June 2007 and June 2008. Junger states that he was never asked directly or indirectly to alter his reporting in any way or to show the contents of his camera. Junger is an American citizen and has recollections of the terrorist s attacks that took place on September 11, 2001. With this in mind, it could be cause for some bias reporting that may be presented and talked about through this book review. This memoir was written for the main reason of Junger being interested in Americans in Afghanistan. He was interested in what it was like to serve in a platoon of combat infantry in the U.S. Army.2 With this memoir in mind, Junger wanted to reach the American citizens as his audience to show just what mindset the American soldiers were placed in during their time in Afghanistan. Junger states that the moral basis of the war didn t seem to interest ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

A seasonal factor is the amount of correction needed in a time series to adjust for the season of the year. (Chase, Jacobs amp; Anquilano, 533) Seasonal factors may affect the samples by taking into consideration factor based on seasons or time periods. The alarm clock that is used to wake me up in the morning is not dependent on any factors of time or season. Statistical process control is one way to control quality and make sure goals are attained. Statistical methods show that the samples taken can create visual representations that conclude my alarm clock is an effective method to starting my morning process. The ideology that I think has created the most success for the government and its people is democracy. The indirect way of voting allows for the people in power to manipulate the issue to the benefit of the government and that s not they it should be. Many believe it is impervious for an innocent adolescent to be born with the capability to commit a heinous act suchlike murder. But how could we depraved humanity so much as to turn an innocent child into a homicidal lunatic? This theory has been long disputed by psychologists and criminologists alike, who continuously bicker over whether or not these degenerates should be damned for their acts or granted amnesty for being born with an attribute beyond their control. Introduction Looking at the yellow dung fly, Scathophaga stercoraria, it is seen that the species experiences sexual dimorphism in the form of both size and colour. This gives changes between the males and females that are specially adapted to give them the best chance of producing offspring. Males are considerably larger than the females and have clearly defining yellow hair along the abdomen, whereas females are smaller and are more of an olive green colour. Copulation for this species occurs on large mammal faeces as it acts as a source of nutrition for larvae once eggs are hatched. A Battle Of Endings By James Cameron Sundiata Short Essay Andrew Davis Professor Benander Topics in Literature 4 November 2012 A Battle of Endings It is widely believed that the ending makes the story. What would Titanic, the movie by James Cameron, be without its ending? In the epics of Kirikou and Sundiata, we see two distinctly different endings that would cause different responses from different audiences. The Treatment of the villain is significant in the end because it brings into question the judgment of the hero. Examining how others respond to the shadow is important because it allows people to examine what they would do to treat the shadow who wronged others. A modern teenage Disney audience would be more satisfied with the treatment Sundiata gave to his enemies, because Sundiata tries his best to satisfy the people who were affected by the rule of the shadow. Sundiata s treatment of the enemies should be established before getting into the argument. Sundiata just wants the shadow out of the way of the goal of the conquering Mali, but he tries to please his people, the maiden, in serving justice to the Shadow. The ideas that I have about the answer to this question are not the same ones that I had twenty years ago. In my personal experience being a good teacher is something that I always wanted. In recent years I have learned that teaching is not about being a good teacher but about striving each day to be a better teacher than I was the day before. A good teacher is one who knows her students and her students needs. The students are the reason that the teacher is there. By incorporating these grammatical issues into her work, Ferrell intends to develop a clear and sharp image to ignite the imagination of her readers. In this semester project, I will present various examples where Ferrell integrates these grammatical concepts and analyze how they contribute to the overall tone and effectiveness of the poem. Questions On Correct Billing And Coding In order to be a better or more knowledgeable about correct billing and coding, the coder must first be aware of the impact of the issues that can occur in a claims process when incorrect information is documented or coded about the patient. The main possible impacts of incorrect information in a claim are: rejected claims, down coding of the bill by the insurance company, loss of payment to the physician and additional audits. During a patient visit, all that is done for the patient must be transcribed into the correct codes. Along with these codes, there must be sufficient supporting information documented in the patient record. When the supporting evidence is not there, that line will either be down coded or the billing being rejected. A rejected bill requires more time and effort by the physician s staff to correct the issue and resubmit it. Billing with the correct primary, sub and supporting codes will prevent the extra work and possible loss of money. This is not just an ethical and financial need to do so, but a legal responsibility. In many cases, the coder is held responsible for incorrect or erroneous billing. Correct and Clean Coding Other than the ethical issues of coding, the best methodology to follow is to code by these three coding guidelines. a) First, code the primary diagnosis, condition or reason for the visit followed by the co existing, current circumstances. b) Next, with the supporting evidence, code to the highest level you are most ... • 36. The Theme Of Social Criticism In The House Of Mirth The House of Mirth is a novel that condemns the elitist world of women and promotes the idea that money can t buy happiness. Wharton wanted to present American aristocracy when that aristocracy was doing so well. The novel highlights each aspect of a person s social behavior because each detail can have implications. Wharton wanted to mock the society, but also to show the tragedies in it. Wharton considered New York society to be arrogant, trivial, and ridiculous. The burden of tragedy to her often a humorous bitter satire of the ways of the wealthy is related with Wharton s personal connection to this world. She is presenting a good combination of criticism and social satire. According to Auchincloss, Wharton had a firm grasp of what society, in the smaller sense of the word, was actually made up of. She understood that it was arbitrary, capricious, and inconsistent; she was aware that it did not hesitate to abolish its standards while most loudly proclaiming them. She knew money could open doors and when it couldn t, when lineage would serve and when it could be merely sneered at. Auchincloss continued: She realized that the social game was ... It wasn t until recently that I decided I need a change, so I chose to start college. My love of fishing and the outdoors made the decision easy when it came to choosing my major, Land Forestry Wildlife Management. Although the decision came easy and I feel it is the right career for me, there are many issues, positive and negative, related to my field. Land, Forest, Wildlife Management does a lot of good for people and animals but can also hurt. Prescribed burning, wildlife control and forest management are all big issues related to the field. Prescribed burning, also called controlled burns, has many purposes. The American Indians set fire to stimulate the development of plants and keep areas open to produce food (Minnesota Department of Natural Resources). Prescribed fires help improve wildlife habitat and soil quality. After the burns, the brush grows back greener and lusher, providing nesting areas for creatures such as deer. In addition, prescribed fires are a cheaper way to manage vegetation as they require no bulldozing, cutting, or chemicals (Minnesota Department of Natural Resources). Many argue that prescribed burning is dangerous, but so are other things, including some things people do on a daily basis. For instance, driving a car. Just starting the car alone creates a spark that ignites combustion in the cylinders. A spark combined with gasoline in the car is a dangerous ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
