The CEO of Airtel is Gopal Vittal, who has been CEO since 2013. Airtel began in 1992 when Sunil Mittal won a bid to set up a cellular network in Delhi and has grown to over 66 million customers across its mobile, broadband, and DTH services in India and Africa. It has a large workforce and focus on telecom but depends heavily on the domestic market and faces competition from other operators.
