Information About Specialized Underwater Robots And They...
1) DBR owns information about specialized underwater robots and they have announced advanced
prototypes. The distance between their head office and manufacturing office is 20 kilometers. The
backups are sent to a remote site. Considering this information and concerns of CEO, following are
the types of threats that DBR may face:
Advanced Persistent Threats: It includes basic malware, to targeted and state sponsored attacks which
attempt to steal intellectual property
They normally gain control using socially engineered Trojans or phishing attacks
One of the popular methods for APT is spearphishing which is created to send a specific phishing
campaign. The phishing emails are sent to multiple employees and at least one of them will fall into
the trap. After getting access to one system, APT attacker can disrupt the entire enterprise system
within a few hours
Individuals cannot be termed APT as they rarely own resources which are both advanced and
persistent
Spearphishing has a high level of target sophistication, may be relevant to your job and originate from
someone in your email book
DBR can train their employees around indicators of such attack. The indicators are emails containing
bad grammar, malicious website links and asking one to update information
The signs left behind by APT attacks are: o Increased in late night logins o Increased backdoor Trojans
o Unexpected information flow o Detecting unexpected data bundles
Danger level: High

Along The River During The Qingming Festival Analysis
When mentioning Along the River During the Qingming Festival, most people will immediately think
of the version by the Song dynasty artist Zhang Zeduan, which is undeniably the earliest and most
well known version. There are many copies and variations of this work, including a painting by the
Ming dynasty artist Qiu Ying, which is also called Along the River During the Qingming Festival.
Although the artist uses the same title, this painting has its own beauty and connotative meanings that
cannot be ignored and which people need to discover and appreciate. Zhang Zeduan s masterpiece
depicts the landscape of his hometown, Kaifeng and the life of its people during the Song dynasty.
Nearly 500 years later, Qiu Ying portrayed his hometown Suzhou in a similar way, but in his version,
the scenes are different to the original version. Compared to Zhang, Qiu Ying added more blue and
green landscape patterns, and the feeling of the artisan is not strong in this work. The most important
thing is that both artists show different visual perspectives of the culture and customs of the city.

While Qiu s work depicts the prosperity of Suzhou in the middle era of the Ming dynasty, Zhang s
painting shows the daily life of people in Kaifeng during the Song dynasty. Qiu Ying s buildings are
more structured and grand, even the shops appear more spacious. The scenes in this painting represent
an important page in Chinese history by combining the history and reality of a genre painting. So
many landmark buildings in Suzhou are clearly recognizable which show the developed economy and
traditions of the Ming dynasty and the artist s own style. Qiu Ying uses the traditional blue and green
style in this painting, leading to a beautiful picture which is filled with bright green mountains and

Ritalin Abuse
The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first licensed methylphenidate hydrochloride in 1955 for
treating what was formerly known as hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder or ADD. The drug was
commonly prescribed in the 1990s when the diagnosis of ADHD became better known and accepted.
In 2000, Janssen Pharmaceuticals received approval from the FDA to market Concerta, an extended
release form of Ritalin. Approximately two thirds of 6.4 million children presently diagnosed have
been prescribed drugs like Ritalin or Adderall (another common CNS stimulant).
First synthesized in 1944, the Ritalin formula (at that time commonly known as MPH, from
methylphenidate) was improved in 1950, and by 1954 it was being tested on humans. In 1957, Ciba
Pharmaceutical Company began marketing MPH as Ritalin to treat chronic fatigue, depression,
psychosis associated with depression, narcolepsy, and to offset the sedating effects of other
medications. It was used into the 1960s to try to counteract the symptoms of barbiturate overdose.
Ritalin has a high potential for abuse when injected it may produce feelings of euphoria. Those who
misuse Ritalin increase the amphetamine like effects by crushing the tablets into a powder and
snorting it or dissolving it in water for intravenous injection. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

While amphetamines stimulate the release of dopamine, cocaine and Ritalin block the transporters that
reuptake dopamine into the neuron that released it. By blocking transporters, Ritalin allows more
dopamine to reach receptors, thus increasing attention signaling, which helps people with ADHD to
focus. Ritalin, when taken orally, slowly raises dopamine levels over the course of an hour or so. By
contrast, when inhaled or injected, cocaine reaches the brain in seconds, producing a

A University Degree is a Good Investment Essay
As a recent high school graduate, I spent the last year of high school deciding what I want to do with
my life. It was time to seriously answer the question what do you want to be when you grow up? As a
child this question seems so broad and open. There are a million things to choose from. One day I
could ve been a teacher, and the next day a veterinarian. But one thing you don t hear most kids say
they dream about being is a college graduate. However, when the time comes to plan your life,
suddenly the options diminish and you re really left with only two; college, or a job. For a long period
of time, the majority of high school graduates have chosen college, while the remaining students go

Since then thousands of universities have opened and offer many different fields to pursue. From law
schools to technical institutes to community colleges, there are a variety of higher education options.
Since the mass development of universities, it has become more traditional for people of all social
statuses to attend college. Also, since 1636 the number of people going to college has also increased as
a higher education has become more attainable for the average person. However, in recent times the
trend of an increasing enrollment has faded away. This decrease in college registration influences the
question of why students have begun to stray away from college in the last few years.
Mathew Bidwell, a professor at the Wharton University of Pennsylvania has found that About 300,000
fewer students enrolled in college this fall [2013], compared to 2012 (Bidwell 2). This decline in
enrollment is something to worry about because the future of the United States falls heavy on the
shoulders of education. In 2012 Barrack Obama set a goal for the United States: by the year 2020
America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world. ( Ensuring 1.)
With the aim of achieving this goal, it is important to stop this decline in college enrollment. In order
to understand the decline in college enrollment, it is important to understand the factors that are

Persuasive Essay On Foster Children
According to, The National Research Center for Permanency and Family Connections, A number of
studies published over the past two decades have found high rates of homelessness among former
foster youth who aged out of care (1). The Covenant House who provides open doors to troubled
children and youth stated that, 23,000 27,000 youth age out of foster care every year (1). Large
numbers of foster youth are becoming homeless because of insufficient foster homes and group
homes, unprepared foster parents who take in many foster kids, and foster parents not providing
adequately. Issues in the foster care system is not a new issue; there is no true way to fix the system
completely, but there are improvements that can be made. Fostering of children can be dated back to
biblical times, and it can still be seen worldwide today. There are smaller issues and bigger issues in
the system, but they all work together to influence each other. Therefore, creating larger problems that
are quite difficult to control. Ideally, you want these troubled kids to have a home where they feel
welcomed and loved.
As the need for nationwide foster care systems rises, the quality of foster homes decreases. There is a
large need to have these kids in a home, and therefore families are taking in a large amount of foster
kids. Consequently, the families cannot adequately provide for the kids that they are housing.
Therefore, the foster kids that they couldn t provide for are sent to a group home. The

Examples Of Odysseus As A Modern Hero
What do you think a hero is? I think a hero is someone who cares about others, has a kind personality,
and is a good leader. In the text The Odyssey, people have argued whether or not the main character,
Odysseus, is a hero. I think that Odysseus is a modern hero because he is loyal, smart, and he is brave.
One way that Odysseus fits the mold of a modern hero is how he is loyal. He was loyal because he
always tried to keep his men safe. In the story The Lotus Eaters while they were on the Land of the
Lotus Eaters, he made sure all of his men were on the ship so none of them were left behind. He also
made sure none of the men on Island of Thrinacia ate Helios cattle. This made him loyal because loyal
people always have their friends backs. This compares Odysseus to a modern hero because they have
to be loyal so they don t let other people down. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He was smart because he always knew how to help people. In the story Twenty years gone, and I am
back again Odysseus made a plan to get rid of the beggars which was to make himself look like one
and have his son, Telemachus, count up suitors, and then while he is talking to the other beggars, his
son will gather up all of the beggars weapons, and Odysseus will take his bow and arrow and start
shooting at the beggars who are trying to marry his wife. This plan made him smart because it was the
only way he could get his wife back without the beggars trying to kill him, and the plan worked which
also made it smart. This compares Odysseus to a modern hero because they need plans to save

The Romance Of The Rose Analysis
The Romance of the Rose was written in the 13th century by Guillaume de Lorris and Jean de Meun.
De Lorris was a French poet that wrote the first section of the poem, while De Meun was a French
author that wrote the second section. After de Lorris wrote the first section, he died, which lead to de
Meun finishing it. Their parts are related but have many differences. As de Lorris section is very
comprehendible, de Meuns is vaguer and requires more critical thinking. The poem has created an
abundance of arguments surrounding the topic of a women s dignity and role. These arguments had
immense impacts on today s pop culture. The book developed the notion of love not being an emotion,
but more of a pose. They did this by making characteristics, such as Courtesy, Beauty, and Wealthy, as
characters themselves to see how they would act in certain circumstances. This helps the reader
believe that the authors are trying to display how these traits are treated in real life. The author states,
FIer color made her look like a new rosel and her skin was so tender that one could tear it with a tiny
thorn (de Lorris 42), which helps the reader understand how the characters names will be a big part of
the poem and the moral surrounding it. It also suggests that some women are less fragile, and harder to
pursue than others which is directly related to how people perceive women outside of the poem. The
imagery and descriptions of the narrator s thoughts controls how the whole poem is

Keeping the Past Alive in in A Rose for Emily by William...
Miss Emily Grierson, the leading character in A Rose for Emily , is a bizarre woman to say the least.
Faulkner begins this story with Miss Emily s funeral, and continues to tell about the interesting events
in her life. All throughout the story, Miss Emily exhibits many traits of a mentally ill person, but is
never medically diagnosed. Faulkner writes, Miss Emily had been a tradition, a duty, and a care (245),
meaning that she stuck to her Southern raised ways. She refused to conform to the modernization of
the world around her. The narrator of this story seems to be a person that knows Miss Emily and her
family very intimately. The narrator also considers themselves apart of the townspeople referred to as
the we throughout the story. This story tells about the ups and downs in the extremely intriguing life of
a woman that refuses to leave her past. After her death, the whole town went to her funeral: the men
through a sort of respectful affection for a fallen monument, the women mostly out of curiosity to see
the inside of her house (Faulkner 244). No one had been into her home in at least a decade except for
the workers. Faulkner uses imagery to describe the big, squarish framed house that had once been
white (244). Miss Emily came from a wealthy family during the Antebellum Era, and her house
appears to not have been touched up since then. Miss Emily was not one to accept to charity by any
means. After the death of her father, Colonel Sartoris remitted

Integrated Healthcare System Analysis
Briefing Paper 4:
Eric Lombardi Lopes More and more integrated hospitals and other providers are becoming prevalent
in our community; two large systems in the Dallas Fort Worth area are Texas Health Resources and
the Baylor Scott White systems. What exactly are these integrated hospital systems? An integrated
healthcare system is one that through official agreements or ownership sets up a horizontal and
vertical line of healthcare facilities and services to better deliver seamless healthcare to patients. An
example to use is Texas Health Resources since its found in most corners of the Metroplex. With any
large corporation and system comes confusion and other problems: such as regulatory obstacles, the
complexity of operations, and unclear financial ownerships. Integrated healthcare systems appear at

Horizontal integrations mean that all services, facilities, and other patient care needs are acquired and
merged into the integrated system. An example would be a general hospital acquiring or partnering
with other specialized sources of healthcare such as, outpatient facilities, pharmacies, specialty offices,
oncology centers, and diagnostic labs and services. A vertical integration means to apply factors that
do not directly affect patient care, such as medical supplies and drugs, insurance, financial services,
emergency services such as ambulances, and administration responsibilities. A system that can
implement both can afford to provide lower cost care while maintaining quality, if the system gets to
large enough it can also help curb the availability of care. In the Dallas Fort Worth area one can see a
growth in Texas Health Resources or THR, they own several large general hospitals, along with free
standing ERs, sports medicine offices, a heart hospital, and many other facilities in the

Summary Of The Novel Water For Elephants
Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen is a novel about the life of an elderly man who spent time in the
nineteen thirties traveling with a circus. This man is Jacob Jankowski. Jacob Jankowski is around
ninety years old and living in an assisted living home, which is depicted as a sort of Hell on Earth.
Throughout the novel it would seem that Jacob Jankowski is suffering from mild dementia. He often
forgets small things like his caretakers names, but he never forgets his time in the circus. While Jacob
Jankowski is living in the assisted living home, the circus comes into town. This brings back
memories. Jankowski begins to have flashbacks in his dreams. The reader can assume that these
flashbacks are caused by the circus coming into town, which Jankowski sees being set up every day ...

Maritime Compass Llc Essay
1. How much is the Bet Performer worth based on comparable transactions? What ship is the best
reference transaction? (the closest comparable)? Comparable transaction is a conventional method of
evaluating the value of something that is ready for sale. To value a ship, one had to identify a set of
comparable ships where comparability was based on four main factors: ship type, size (DWT), age,
and condition. The Bet Performer was a 11 year old ship, built in 1997, 172,000 DWT capsize bulk
carrier. From the Exhibit 4, there are five ships which are the most comparable to Bet Performer. They
are Martha Verity, Ingenious, Sumihou, Cape Sun, and Coppersmith. These ships all have the most

This is logical because, larger the ships, more load could they carry, and thus make higher profits, so
are priced higher. Relationship between Age and Ship Price: From the regression, we find that as the
ship ages by one year, the price of the ship drops by $ 4.54 mln. This makes sense because as with any
other vehicle or asset, the efficiency of the ship drops with age. As it gets older, the carrying value of
the ship lowers due to depreciation. Relationship between Charter rates and Ship Price: With one point
increase in the Capesize ship index, there is a slight increase in the price of the ship by $0.007 mln.
The Capesize ships took like a year to build, and are good for 25 years, after which they are
demolished and sold for scrap. The economics of this ship breaking differed by ship size and type
category. So higher this index, higher is the price of the ship. b. Can you think of other factors that
might predict ship prices? Apart from the 4 factors ship type, DWT, ship age and gears, there are a
couple of other factors which affect the ship price. They are Type of main engine, Confirmed time
charter contracts with creditworthy counter parties Loading equipment (cranes and derricks) Shipyard
(original builder) Location (where the ship was at the time of sale) All these affected the price of the
ship, and hence can be used to

addition to portability and comfort, one of the advantages of a lightweight scooter is its ease of
maneuvering. The folding scooters have a rudder (handlebar) that rises under steering and braking
controls. The controls are two levers or cams to operate with the thumbs. For example, for backward
driving, actuate the left thumb and for forward driving to activate the right thumb. The amount of
pressure determines the speed, and when the pressure is released, an electronic braking system
automatically triggers the electromagnetic brakes. Maneuverability An electric scooter should not be
judged just because of its speed and the distance it can travel. The best folding electric scooters should
have a small radio that allows the users of the same, to be handled in narrow spaces such as the aisles
of supermarkets or elevators and landings. Scooters must also have sufficient ground clearance so they
can roll on surfaces or objects without damaging the chassis or engine. Lastly, we must choose
scooters with a minimum power that will bring us up slopes of at least 6

It is that first bite you take of one of your juicy and savory store bought apples that just sends your
taste buds wild. You can tell by how juicy it is that the apple was probably picked fresh last week.
However, that is not the case. That apple had been picked mid august while it was not fully ripe, was
treated with a chemical called 1 MCP (Methylcyclopropene), waxed, boxed, and stored in a cold
warehouse for up to 9 12 months. Apples used to be sprayed with fungicide before they used 1 MCP,

Instead, these natural and organic products are being made in factories with hardly anything natural
about them. In an article by Joe Lamp l, host and executive producer of Growing A Greener World ,
states, Personally, I d prefer a blemished apple that s perfectly fine to eat, versus one that has been

When growing your own produce it might appear less than perfect. However, if a shopper walks into a

happened? How come home growers produce does not look as perfect? Well when growing your own
garden, gardeners are well aware of what pesticides are being used and what harmful additives are not
being infused in their produce. They are growing by the work of Mother Nature and not by some
machine injecting them with chemicals to speed up the growing process. People go to a grocery with
good intentions of buying vegetables and fruits that grew on a farm. Instead they get produce that has
been sprayed with pesticides and grown in chemical fertilizers such as DDT
(Dichlorodiphenyltrichloroethane). What is so organic about that? When growing their own vegetables
gardeners receive produce with the highest vitamin content! Gardeners also do not have to worry

Between Shades Of Grey Essay
Between Shades of Gray
1. Under the rule of Stalin, people were sent to be housed at the Gulag camps, by then they were using
them as a slave labor. These camps housed a wide range of convicts from minor criminals to political
prisoners. The Soviet Union s main offences were robbers, rapists, murders, and thieves, so instead of
spending their sentences in prison they got taken to the Gulag.
Yes, after reading both the book and the Soviet Union Gulag system research that I did on they were
similar. Therefore, the book is accurate.
2. The author, Ruta Sepetys s research for this novel, Between Shades of Gray, is accurate and
relevant. This is because this novel is based on a real story and Ruta Sepetys told this story based off
of real survivors from Soviet Union Gulag to create this whole novel.
3. Lina, Jonas, and Andrius all never give up hope on trying to get out of the camps and also not
giving up hope on finding their fathers. They all love their families very much and would do anything
to stay with them and save them from getting hurt. The thing that they all have in common is that they
are going through the same life or death situation. They all also have the same situation with their
fathers and not being able to locate them.

Analysis Of Better Than Hum Our Jobs By Kevin Kelly
Christian Lous Lange once said, Technology is a useful servant but a dangerous master. Many would
agree, as modern day scientists threaten that robots are taking over our jobs more and more everyday.
While many are discomforted by this idea, author Kevin Kelly is intrigued with this idea in his article,
Better Than Human: Why Robots Will⎼And Must⎼Take Our Jobs, saying that increasing technology
in the workplace will benefit our society by increasing productivity. In his article, Kelly uses specific
examples and tones in an attempt to relate to his audience, but fails to present an argument that forces
others to trust in the takeover of technology. Kelly uses an academic, humorous tone in an attempt to
appeal to his audience, but instead, sends a sarcastic message to the readers. For example, Kelly wrote,

we will believe that we are needed when the machine breaks down, but the technology is apparently
flawless. After figuring out that this technology can do our old jobs better than we can, we realize that
we did not like our job and we are much happier now that we have moved on from our old boring job.
What Kelly fails to realize is that several people do not detest their jobs, and robots cannot do every
job that humans can do. Some jobs, including social work and criminal investigation, cannot solely be
done by machines. It is seemingly impossible. Therefore, Kelly s argument is invalid and cannot be
used when arguing whether or not technology should be allowed to takeover the

There are many reasons for educational underachievement and it has been said that ethnicity is one of
these key factors. It has been found that Indian and Asian pupils are of higher educational achievement
than White, African Caribbean, and Black, Pakistani and Bangladeshi pupils.
One possible cause of ethnic differences in education could be at the fault of the education system. To
investigate this Sewell conducted a study using semi structured interviews and observations in an

For example, the home of a pupil is a primary agent in their socialisation and education and this

higher levels of cultural capital, despite often being from a working class background. Many Indians
and Asians originate from working class backgrounds even though they end up with middle class jobs.
These parents therefore place particularly high values on educational success and contain the

children made more positive progress than the white British students but African Caribbean pupils fell

such as high aspirations and dedication to homework, low levels of truancy and exclusion and good
resources at home such as computers and private tutoring.
However there was no evidence that African Caribbean parents and pupils adopted a culture that
would hold them back in their educational success, they had high aspirations and a positive attitude to

Single Blind Experiment
If I were a psychologist trying to determine if this claim is valid, I would set up a single blind
experiment to see if the aroma of jasmine could help reduce depression. Aromatherapy is a type of
therapy that incorporates essential oils to help improve a person s mood (Krans). It is thought that the
chemicals from the oil will travel up the nasal cavities to the olfactory receptors, which then send a
signal to the olfactory bulbs, and then finally connecting to the limbic system where emotion,
motivation, and memory are regulated (Ciccareli). During the single blind experiment, the participants

The Woman Of A Tradesman Essay
recently discovered love won t meddle with her freedom and independence: Mr. Knightley as of now
has a fortune of his own and even consents to move into Hartfield after their marriage. In spite of the
fact that Emma is unmistakably a flight from the usual and ordinary Austen s depiction of women, the
other female characters in the novel bring to light the challenges confronting ladies without monetary
autonomy. Miss Bates, Jane Fairfax, and Harriet Smith represent three conceivable situations for the
women who do not have high social status and position like Emma. Miss Bates never wedded and is
reliant on her mother s insignificant wage. With the passage of time, her neediness builds, as does the
measure of disparagement that she must persevere from those around her. Similarly, Harriet is poor
and subject to those around her. The girl of a tradesman, she has few prospects until Robert Martin,
and, on account of Emma s impact, is constantly in risk of extending past her social capacities. Jane
Fairfax is considered as a foil to Emma, and, from various perspectives, appears to be more proper as
an Austen s female character. She has the majority of Emma s beauty, magnificence, and insights,
however fails to offer the pay of a refined and well off man, a reality that appears to fate her to a life
as a tutor. It is through the character of Emma and her monetarily independence, Austen attacks the
norms of the society which leaves women with so less options and

Lincoln Habeas Corpus Essay
Abraham Lincoln the 16th President of the United States was always known as Honest Abe and one of

actions in order to save his country. Habeas corpus a writ requiring a person to be brought before a

against illegal imprisonment. In July of 1862 Abraham Lincoln suspended the act of habeas corpus, he

suspension of Habeas Corpus, by using military tribunals, no modern day president has faced such a
drastic situation as Lincoln did with his country on the verge of self detonation. The Civil War called
for drastic measure to be taken and although the core issue within the Civil War was States rights, I

diesel fuel because diesel is a main source of transportation and passenger vehicle. For to reduce
diesel fuel consumption there is alternate fuel or blended fuel used in IC engine which can be partially

Violance in Schools Causes Deviant Behavior
Violence among our youth has spread widely throughout the nation. This can be linked to several
problems in our society, but mainly one. The constant barrage of television and media violence causes
deviant behavior in children. When children are young they are very impressionable by the things
around them. Often kids are influenced by what they see. If kids are watching shows or being
introduced to violent acts they too will tend to act out this violence (Huesmann and Eron, 1986). The
results of studies on the effects of televised violence are consistent. By watching aggression, children
learn how to be aggressive in new ways and they also draw conclusions about whether being
aggressive to others will bring them rewards (Huesmann and ... Show more content on

Violence has become more and more prevalent in today s society. We see it in the streets, back alleys,
schools, and even at home. Homes, in particular, are a major source of violence. A television set has
become common to the living room of most family homes. This outlet for violence often goes
unnoticed. Children who view television are often pulled into the realistic, yet a devastating world of
violence. Much research has gone into showing why children are so mesmerized by this big glowing
box and the action that takes place within it. Research shows that it is definitely a major source of
violent behavior in children (Howe 55). The research proves time and time again that aggression and
television viewing do go hand in hand. The truth about television violence and children has been
shown.
Some are trying to fight this problem. There are numerous advocate groups lobbing for television and

The Decriminalization Of Prostitution And Sex Work In Canada
One of the world s oldest professions is still a prevalent topic in Canadian law today (Ruddell 2017,
13 14). Prostitution and sex work have been topics of debate in society for decades. By definition,
prostitution and sex work involve the exchange of sexual activity for some form of payment, most
often money. In December 2013, the Supreme Court of Canada decriminalized prostitution, making it
legal, in order to reduce the victimization of sex workers (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). Although the act of
prostitution is now legal in Canada, many other laws criminalize activities involved in prostitution that
are often necessary for the safety of the workers (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). The current laws pertaining
prostitution and the sex work industry in Canada further amplify the stigma that those working in
related industries are a nuisance to society and do not consider the health, safety, or overall well being
of such people. In order to make lasting social change, we must continue to evaluate current laws
pertaining prostitution. By examining the implications of public opinion and views on prostitution, we
can create a better idea of how to move forward with new legislation. Obtaining a better understanding
on the effects our current laws have on the sex workers and their industries will allow us to make more
efficient and meaningful change. In order to make lasting social change, we must defeat the stigma
surrounding sex work, better understand public opinion and knowledge, and begin

Behavior Theory: Effects of Jute Jute is protective equipment that is worn during training to allow the
canine to bite without hurting the trainer. This interferes with training process of canines while
searching buildings. Canines that are trained with the Jute method respond to the odor of the jute
rather than human scent. Human scent is composed of skin flakes, perspiration, skin oils, and gaseous
components that are perceived by dogs through their Olfactory senses (O Heare). Olfactory sensitivity
helps that canine to distinguish between different human odors and to smell significantly, better than
human beings. In fact, the Institute for Biological Detection Systems at Auburn University (1998)
found that canines could be trained to detect as many as ten separate and distinct odors without any
deterioration in performance (O Heare). Although, canines know the difference between smells, when
trained with Jute when searching for criminals without the odor of the protective wear the dog may get
confused or be slower to find the suspect. It may cause a problem when finding and indicating.
Case Law: Instrumentality of force The use of canines in the past provided law enforcement with a
valuable tool, which if used properly, can improve both the efficiency and effectiveness of policing, all
the while serving as an important public relations tool (O Heare). Some may argue that the uses of

history, Firepower. Firepower International was a company founded and run by Tim Johnston, which
offered a product called a Firepower Pill 6, which claimed to improve engine efficiency and reduce
emissions when placed into a vehicles engine. Johnston claimed that the fuel pill would eliminate all
poisonous gas emitted from vehicles5.
Tim Johnston convinced investors that he had such a product as well as convince investors that proof

Australia s biggest sports teams to attract more investors as well as to satisfy those still unconvinced
by the product5.
Amazingly Johnston s strategy had worked and by late 2006 reputable people were tipping him for

The city state was divided at the time into Guelphs the party of the pope and Ghibellines the party of
the Holy Roman Emperor. The Alighieris belonged to the former party until they were driven out in

The Guelphs assumed power but split themselves up into Whites and Blacks, the Whites taking the
antipapal position of the Ghibellines. Dante eventually cast his lot in with the Whites. When the
Blacks seized power in Florence in 1302, they condemned him to death, forcing him to leave his wife,

A monarchy system of government is when the country is headed by one person that is either a king or

Aristocrats are mainly educated and rich people.
Dictatorship is when a person or a group of people rule a country the way they feel is right. The views
of the people are normally not taken into consideration during decision making, an example is North
Korea. The United States of America, is a country made up of 50 states. In 1789, George Washington
was elected the first president of the United States. At this time, a constitution was introduced that
made the USA function through a federal system of government. This system of government was
called federal system because it was signed by 13 states that gave up their freedom and independence
in order to from a central government. When the 13 states decided to join hands to make one nation,
some states decide to keep their policy and trade negotiations and the federal government could only
do what the states permitted. This explains why the United States is an example of federalism. This is
a system in which the nation shares powers with the lower level of government. The constitution

What Becomes of Our Elegies?
William Wordsworth s poem The World is too Much with Us begins with a pessimistic, yet chillingly
accurate insight: The world is too much with us; late and soon, Getting and Spending, we lay waste
our powers (1 2). Wordsworth asks whether progress was just a convenient excuse for the sacrifices
mankind made during the Industrial Revolution. Alexander Pope, however, in his poem An Essay on

as indicated by contemporary examples. Therefore, under Pope s philosophy, The World is too Much

Initially, the myopic drive for technology and material wealth had left humanity deprived of its soul.
The industrial empire extorted what it could from nature. According to World Resources Institute, the

With the accumulation of wealth, Mammonism and attendant moral problems ensued. In Korea, as

Itemized Deduction
Itemized deduction for employees. Conversely, educational costs aren t deductible if the education is
required to get into the field (as opposed to staying in the field) or qualifies you for a new trade or
business. For example, a doctor cannot deduct basic medical school costs because these are required to
enter the field. Once he becomes a doctor, however, any courses he takes to keep current or learn new
techniques are deductible. The expenses of becoming a specialist within a field may or may not be
deductible. For example, if the goal all along was to become a psychiatrist and the individual went
straight through medical school, internship, and then into a psychiatric residency, all of the costs
would be treated as required to enter the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Instead of taking a deduction for education expenses, taxpayers may claim the American Opportunity

Performance On Immediate Retention Tests
Roediger Karpicke (2005) predict that performance on immediate retention tests would rise with the
number of study opportunities, due to massed practice usually only producing short term results. They
also believe that taking a retention directly after a study session would result in superior retention on
delayed tests compared to repeatedly studying the material. This would result in proving that test
taking as a better means to improve long term retention compared to re presentation of material during
testing.
Methods
In order to obtain this information on retention two experiments were conducted using psychological
testing to collect data (Weiten, 2014). The first was a experimental 2 x 3 factorial design, using one
hundred twenty undergraduate students from Washington University, ages 18 to 24 (Roddiger
Karpicke, 2005). The independent variables that were manipulated were the different learning
conditions and time between studying and test taking, as well as when the subjects would take the
final retention test which occurred either 5 minutes, 2 days, or 1 week after the end of the 1st phase of
the experiment (Roddiger Karpicke, 2005). The dependent variable were how much information could
the subjects reten and their performance on the final retention test given in phase 2 of the experiment.
The order of learning conditions and the order of the passages given to the subjects were the same
were counterbalanced across all the subjects. After the experiment was

  • 3. Along The River During The Qingming Festival Analysis When mentioning Along the River During the Qingming Festival, most people will immediately think of the version by the Song dynasty artist Zhang Zeduan, which is undeniably the earliest and most well known version. There are many copies and variations of this work, including a painting by the Ming dynasty artist Qiu Ying, which is also called Along the River During the Qingming Festival. Although the artist uses the same title, this painting has its own beauty and connotative meanings that cannot be ignored and which people need to discover and appreciate. Zhang Zeduan s masterpiece depicts the landscape of his hometown, Kaifeng and the life of its people during the Song dynasty. Nearly 500 years later, Qiu Ying portrayed his hometown Suzhou in a similar way, but in his version, the scenes are different to the original version. Compared to Zhang, Qiu Ying added more blue and green landscape patterns, and the feeling of the artisan is not strong in this work. The most important thing is that both artists show different visual perspectives of the culture and customs of the city. According to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 4. Ritalin Abuse The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) first licensed methylphenidate hydrochloride in 1955 for treating what was formerly known as hyperactivity, attention deficit disorder or ADD. The drug was commonly prescribed in the 1990s when the diagnosis of ADHD became better known and accepted. In 2000, Janssen Pharmaceuticals received approval from the FDA to market Concerta, an extended release form of Ritalin. Approximately two thirds of 6.4 million children presently diagnosed have been prescribed drugs like Ritalin or Adderall (another common CNS stimulant). First synthesized in 1944, the Ritalin formula (at that time commonly known as MPH, from methylphenidate) was improved in 1950, and by 1954 it was being tested on humans. In 1957, Ciba Pharmaceutical Company began marketing MPH as Ritalin to treat chronic fatigue, depression, psychosis associated with depression, narcolepsy, and to offset the sedating effects of other medications. It was used into the 1960s to try to counteract the symptoms of barbiturate overdose. Ritalin has a high potential for abuse when injected it may produce feelings of euphoria. Those who misuse Ritalin increase the amphetamine like effects by crushing the tablets into a powder and snorting it or dissolving it in water for intravenous injection. ... It was time to seriously answer the question what do you want to be when you grow up? As a child this question seems so broad and open. There are a million things to choose from. One day I could ve been a teacher, and the next day a veterinarian. But one thing you don t hear most kids say they dream about being is a college graduate. However, when the time comes to plan your life, suddenly the options diminish and you re really left with only two; college, or a job. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Since then thousands of universities have opened and offer many different fields to pursue. From law schools to technical institutes to community colleges, there are a variety of higher education options. Since the mass development of universities, it has become more traditional for people of all social statuses to attend college. Also, since 1636 the number of people going to college has also increased as a higher education has become more attainable for the average person. However, in recent times the trend of an increasing enrollment has faded away. This decrease in college registration influences the question of why students have begun to stray away from college in the last few years. Mathew Bidwell, a professor at the Wharton University of Pennsylvania has found that About 300,000 fewer students enrolled in college this fall [2013], compared to 2012 (Bidwell 2). This decline in enrollment is something to worry about because the future of the United States falls heavy on the shoulders of education. In 2012 Barrack Obama set a goal for the United States: by the year 2020 America will once again have the highest proportion of college graduates in the world. ( Ensuring 1.) Persuasive Essay On Foster Children According to, The National Research Center for Permanency and Family Connections, A number of studies published over the past two decades have found high rates of homelessness among former foster youth who aged out of care (1). The Covenant House who provides open doors to troubled children and youth stated that, 23,000 27,000 youth age out of foster care every year (1). Large numbers of foster youth are becoming homeless because of insufficient foster homes and group homes, unprepared foster parents who take in many foster kids, and foster parents not providing adequately. Issues in the foster care system is not a new issue; there is no true way to fix the system completely, but there are improvements that can be made. Fostering of children can be dated back to biblical times, and it can still be seen worldwide today. There are smaller issues and bigger issues in the system, but they all work together to influence each other. Therefore, creating larger problems that are quite difficult to control. • 7. Examples Of Odysseus As A Modern Hero What do you think a hero is? I think a hero is someone who cares about others, has a kind personality, and is a good leader. In the text The Odyssey, people have argued whether or not the main character, Odysseus, is a hero. I think that Odysseus is a modern hero because he is loyal, smart, and he is brave. One way that Odysseus fits the mold of a modern hero is how he is loyal. He was loyal because he always tried to keep his men safe. In the story The Lotus Eaters while they were on the Land of the Lotus Eaters, he made sure all of his men were on the ship so none of them were left behind. He also made sure none of the men on Island of Thrinacia ate Helios cattle. This made him loyal because loyal people always have their friends backs. • 8. The Romance Of The Rose Analysis The Romance of the Rose was written in the 13th century by Guillaume de Lorris and Jean de Meun. De Lorris was a French poet that wrote the first section of the poem, while De Meun was a French author that wrote the second section. After de Lorris wrote the first section, he died, which lead to de Meun finishing it. Their parts are related but have many differences. As de Lorris section is very comprehendible, de Meuns is vaguer and requires more critical thinking. The poem has created an abundance of arguments surrounding the topic of a women s dignity and role. These arguments had immense impacts on today s pop culture. The book developed the notion of love not being an emotion, but more of a pose. They did this by making characteristics, such as Courtesy, Beauty, and Wealthy, as characters themselves to see how they would act in certain circumstances. This helps the reader believe that the authors are trying to display how these traits are treated in real life. The author states, FIer color made her look like a new rosel and her skin was so tender that one could tear it with a tiny thorn (de Lorris 42), which helps the reader understand how the characters names will be a big part of the poem and the moral surrounding it. It also suggests that some women are less fragile, and harder to pursue than others which is directly related to how people perceive women outside of the poem. The imagery and descriptions of the narrator s thoughts controls how the whole poem is ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Faulkner writes, Miss Emily had been a tradition, a duty, and a care (245), meaning that she stuck to her Southern raised ways. She refused to conform to the modernization of the world around her. The narrator of this story seems to be a person that knows Miss Emily and her family very intimately. The narrator also considers themselves apart of the townspeople referred to as the we throughout the story. This story tells about the ups and downs in the extremely intriguing life of a woman that refuses to leave her past. After her death, the whole town went to her funeral: the men through a sort of respectful affection for a fallen monument, the women mostly out of curiosity to see the inside of her house (Faulkner 244). No one had been into her home in at least a decade except for the workers. Faulkner uses imagery to describe the big, squarish framed house that had once been white (244). Miss Emily came from a wealthy family during the Antebellum Era, and her house appears to not have been touched up since then. Miss Emily was not one to accept to charity by any means. Integrated Healthcare System Analysis Briefing Paper 4: Eric Lombardi Lopes More and more integrated hospitals and other providers are becoming prevalent in our community; two large systems in the Dallas Fort Worth area are Texas Health Resources and the Baylor Scott White systems. What exactly are these integrated hospital systems? An integrated healthcare system is one that through official agreements or ownership sets up a horizontal and vertical line of healthcare facilities and services to better deliver seamless healthcare to patients. An example to use is Texas Health Resources since its found in most corners of the Metroplex. A vertical integration means to apply factors that do not directly affect patient care, such as medical supplies and drugs, insurance, financial services, emergency services such as ambulances, and administration responsibilities. A system that can implement both can afford to provide lower cost care while maintaining quality, if the system gets to large enough it can also help curb the availability of care. Comparable transaction is a conventional method of evaluating the value of something that is ready for sale. To value a ship, one had to identify a set of comparable ships where comparability was based on four main factors: ship type, size (DWT), age, and condition. The Bet Performer was a 11 year old ship, built in 1997, 172,000 DWT capsize bulk carrier. From the Exhibit 4, there are five ships which are the most comparable to Bet Performer. This is logical because, larger the ships, more load could they carry, and thus make higher profits, so are priced higher. Relationship between Age and Ship Price: From the regression, we find that as the ship ages by one year, the price of the ship drops by $ 4.54 mln. This makes sense because as with any other vehicle or asset, the efficiency of the ship drops with age. As it gets older, the carrying value of the ship lowers due to depreciation. Relationship between Charter rates and Ship Price: With one point increase in the Capesize ship index, there is a slight increase in the price of the ship by $0.007 mln. The Capesize ships took like a year to build, and are good for 25 years, after which they are demolished and sold for scrap. The economics of this ship breaking differed by ship size and type category. So higher this index, higher is the price of the ship. b. Can you think of other factors that might predict ship prices? Apart from the 4 factors ship type, DWT, ship age and gears, there are a couple of other factors which affect the ship price. They are Type of main engine, Confirmed time charter contracts with creditworthy counter parties Loading equipment (cranes and derricks) Shipyard (original builder) Location (where the ship was at the time of sale) All these affected the price of the ship, and hence can be used to ... Prostitution and sex work have been topics of debate in society for decades. By definition, prostitution and sex work involve the exchange of sexual activity for some form of payment, most often money. In December 2013, the Supreme Court of Canada decriminalized prostitution, making it legal, in order to reduce the victimization of sex workers (Ruddell 2017, 13 14). Firepower International was a company founded and run by Tim Johnston, which offered a product called a Firepower Pill 6, which claimed to improve engine efficiency and reduce emissions when placed into a vehicles engine. Johnston claimed that the fuel pill would eliminate all poisonous gas emitted from vehicles5. Tim Johnston convinced investors that he had such a product as well as convince investors that proof of the product was not necessary5. Later, with the money he had acquired he would sponsor some of Australia s biggest sports teams to attract more investors as well as to satisfy those still unconvinced by the product5. Many believed that Johnston was about to tackle one of the world s biggest problems the global energy crisis. Performance On Immediate Retention Tests Roediger Karpicke (2005) predict that performance on immediate retention tests would rise with the number of study opportunities, due to massed practice usually only producing short term results. They also believe that taking a retention directly after a study session would result in superior retention on delayed tests compared to repeatedly studying the material. This would result in proving that test taking as a better means to improve long term retention compared to re presentation of material during testing. Methods In order to obtain this information on retention two experiments were conducted using psychological testing to collect data (Weiten, 2014). The first was a experimental 2 x 3 factorial design, using one hundred twenty undergraduate students from Washington University, ages 18 to 24 (Roddiger Karpicke, 2005). The independent variables that were manipulated were the different learning conditions and time between studying and test taking, as well as when the subjects would take the final retention test which occurred either 5 minutes, 2 days, or 1 week after the end of the 1st phase of the experiment (Roddiger Karpicke, 2005).
