However, the most appealing aspect of Aboriginal tourism is around experiencing the difference
and unique cultures.
Visit the real destinations that are not necessarily part of the tourist route: Tourists get to know
the local different lifestyles and expose themselves to unique and exciting experience of the old
culture. Often these destinations are not part of the popular tourist routes which makes them even
more appealing to many people because they get the feeling of visiting special places that most
other tourists do not get to see.
Exposure to unique and exciting experiences: Although Aboriginal cultures can be seen as
integral parts of almost all places in NSW, those that seem more appealing are found in the remote
communities which are understandable because their remoteness gives the feeling of being unique
and special. Some of the popular ones such as those around Blue Mountain and Bourke areas.

Critical Need For Health Care Workers
Critical Need for Health Care Workers
In the United States, the number of physicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants is not
growing as quickly as needed. By 2025, it has been predicted that the United States will face an
increase in shortage of 46,100 to 90,400 physicians. The growth of nurse practitioners and physician
assistants was projected to diminish the shortage of physicians, which will require patient and
health system acceptance and more available jobs in health care services. The critical increase of
need for specialists in the recent years caused so much attention, and the demand was said to grow
more rapidly than the supply. The shortage of available physicians in the United States has led to
the aging and growing patient population, connected by the expansion of healthcare coverage to
deprive of timely healthcare services.
When it comes to the aging and growing population, the need for physicians will increase by
2025. In a report made in 2010, it stated that there would be a growth for 81% of change in
demand until 2020.The Association of American Medical Colleges study predicted a 46%
increase of people older than 65 year of age, in need of health care services. In a 2013 report it
stated that in the United States, 767,100 physicians were under the age of 75. Out of these
physicians, about 10% were from within the ages 65 to 75, and about 26% were from 55 to 65
years old. This noted that more than a third of these physicians could retire in 10

The One Minute Manager By Ken Blanchard And Spencer Johnson
In my own opinion, a good leader does not simply get more followers, but creates more leaders.
In the book The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson, this idea is
upheld. The book is simple, short, and extremely effective. Its goal is for people to enjoy more
success with less stress, and that is exactly what it does. It is also been awarded The All Time #1
Best Seller on Managing Your Work and Life. The One Minute Manager is a book told in the
third person. Within the book there are multiple people the reader is introduced to. First, there is
the main character. He is a bright young man who was looking for an effective manager (pg. 11).
Other characters include, The One Minute Manager, the secretary Ms.... Show more content on

After the meeting with the one minute manager the young man meets with three of the people
on the list the secretary has given him. From the list the three people include, Mr. Trenell, Mr.
Levy, and Ms. Brown. As he goes and talks to each one of them, he learns more and more about
what it means to be a One Minute Manager. Mr. Trenell tells the man about One Minute Goal
Setting. This involves a six step process. First, you must agree on your goals. Second, see what
good behavior looks like in order to achieve goals. Next, you write out each of your goals on a
single sheet of paper using less than 250 words. After that you read and re read each goal, which
requires only a minute or so each time you do it. Then, take a minute every once in a while out
of your day to look at your performance. Finally, see whether or not your behavior matches your
goal (pg. 34). Once the young man learned One Minute Goal Setting, he was on his way to meet
Mr. Levy to learn the next step. Mr. Levy goes into the topic of One Minute Praisings. To start a
One Minute Praising, you first must tell people up front that you are going to let them know how
they are doing. If they do something right, praise them immediately, and tell them what the did
right while being specific. Tell people how good you feel about what they did right, and how it
helps the organization and the other people who work there.

Mummification throughout the World
Mummies of humans and animals have been found throughout the world. The most well known
culture for preserving the dead with mummification were the ancient Egyptians. Although
mummification existed before the Egyptians with mummies from northern Chile, the Egyptians
were focused on the prospect of eternal life, which meant preserving the body for life. The
earliest process of mummification took place as early as 3000 BC. Special priests worked as
embalmers, caring for and wrapping the body. Beyond knowing the correct rituals and prayers
to be performed at various stages, the priests also needed a detailed knowledge of human
anatomy. The first step in the process was to remove all internal parts that might decay quickly.
The brain was removed by carefully inserting special hooked instruments up through the nostrils
in order to pull out bits of brain tissue. It was a hard job, one which a wrong move could easily
disfigure the face. The priest then removed the organs of the gut and chest through a cut usually
made on the left side of the abdomen, (except the heart) and stored in canopic jars. The skulls of
the dead would then be filled with a thick plant paste. It wasn t until the Middle Kingdom(2050
BC and 1652 BC) that the process began to take on a more advanced form. After removing organs
and the brain ,the caretakers would use natural salts to remove moisture from the bodies of the
dead, drying out flesh and bone. The emptied bodies were then covered in salt to

Pros And Cons Of Millennials
In today s world, millennials consistently want to take the easy way out for everything. It seems
such an easy way for them to accomplish things a lot quicker, yet they find they have a much
higher rate of making mistakes. This idea happens so much that it is starting to affect their school
work, causing them to not get as high of grades as they want or need. For years professors have
debated whether handwritten notes or computer notes are better. Both these methods have their pros
and cons, but only one has been shown to improve a students learning ability. Typing notes has
shown to be favored by these millennials. This is because they tend to take short cuts in attempt to
minimize time spent on everyday tasks and typing overall decreases the amount of effort applied.
According to Plaza College, a reason students chose typed notes over handwritten is because of the
needed time to type notes is less tasking. Typing the notes is quicker because most students
entering high school or college have taken a computer typing class which enhances their ability to
type quicker than they can write. Another pro of this method is the idea of quick access to the
internet. For example, if a student is in class and the teacher starts explaining a topic that is
unfamiliar with them they can quickly access the internet and get information on the topic. Along
with pros to this method there are some cons for it too. Very few students see negatives in typing
their notes. One major con for

Essay on Evolution of the Automobile Industry and Henry Ford
Evolution of the Automobile Industry and Henry Ford
Henry Ford, the high priest of efficiency, was the tinkerer craftsman who produced one of many
horseless carriages, the automobile. Nearly three years after his only son was born in 1893,
Ford succeeded in producing his first car. After months of vigorous work and two final sleepless
nights, the Quadricycle tolled out of Ford s garage. The Quadricycle was a primitive machine,
with a tiller for a steering wheel, bicycle tires, a bicycle seat and a bicycle chain to transfer the
power of the engine to the wheels.
Engine manufacturing plants did not exist, so Ford s car was constructed entirely by hand, with
common parts recycled into new uses. A house doorbell was the horn.... Show more content on

Ford revealed many new models in the next three years following the production of Model A. In
January of 1906, his newest automobile, Model N, was produced. The car was the only 600 dollar
vehicle with a four cylinder engine. The Ford sold over 800 units in the twelve months, ending in
December of 1907. This was five times the amount of their previous annual sales. By the end of
1907, the company had made over one million in profit of sales of 4.7 million dollars. This profit
was outstanding for the company, however, the consumers wanted a lower price for the automobile.
This forced Henry Ford to promise in 1905 to build a high grade touring car and sell it at an
unheard of price, and now, just as surely as every claim made for the small car was made good, just
so surely has Ford made good this promise. The Model T was that car. The car that was promised
a four cylinder, twenty horse power touring car. The Model T was a roomy, commodious,
comfortable family car, that basically was as good as it got.
Model T, known as the simplest of all cars, is an enlarged four cylinder box car that resembles
today s go cart. The invention of this car made things much more convenient for our spread out
country; including the increased development of roadways. What used to be towns became the
cities as people started to spread away from one another. This new

Key Issues, Problems And Decision Making
Section 2: Key Issues, Problems and Decision Making
This was a very important time for Lands End as very key changes were being made in the
organization. The company had introduced a new customized Chino program in 2001 with a
further addition edition of shirts in the following year. This was done to take advantage of the
web based service it was already providing and to make more efficient and profitable sales. This
helped an increase in sales of 40% as compared to previous years and what was interesting to note
that at that time, none of the company s competitor were offering this service, showing that
technology was giving Lands End a competitive advantage. In addition to this the new partnership
in 2001 with ASI was also added on to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Therefore it was hard to believe that Lands End could maintain its competitive advantage through
just use of superior technology. Maturing growth in the USA and abroad had forced the company
to reduce its number of catalog pages and mail fewer books. Lands End was reaching logical
limitations of what the catalog could do for them
The last key issue was the company s decision to be acquired by Sears at $1.9 billion where it
had the exclusive right to sell Lands End product in its retail stores. This new horizontal
integration had left a big question on whether Lands End will be able to earn profits under this
new organization and whether any conflict will arise with this new establishment. At that time
the company was facing declining sales in catalogs and already was in talks with Sears in the
previous years believing that the retail stores would be a key addition to the platform for selling
its products. The retail stores would be used to showcase the Lands End products and if any
product found unsatisfactory through catalog and online purchase could be returned through these
stores as well. There were a number of key decisions that were needed to be made in order to
ensure a successful future of Lands End. The first was that should Lands End continues to partner
with ASI as they had started providing similar services to Lands End competitor and helping them
achieve a much cheaper and better product. Currently ASI

extremely controversial issue. In the book An Inconvenient Truth, Al Gore goes beyond the
political and economic implications of this crisis and states that global warming is a moral issue
that humans need to address. For years, scientists have been examining the reasons for the changing
climate and have come to the conclusion that global warmingis real and it is serious threat to the
world. Eventually, this threat will lead to major catastrophes that will cause epic destruction of our

The very thin layer of atmosphere is being thickened by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases.
The atmosphere is trapping infrared radiation instead of allowing it to escape into the universe, and
as a result the temperature of the earth is getting too warm and causing even more severe
problems. Roger Revelle was the first person to recognize the impact of green house gases on
our planet and he proposed measuring the amount of carbon dioxide in the earth s atmosphere.
His measurements showed a chart of drastically rising levels of carbon dioxide in the
atmosphere which are harmful to earth s ecosystems. Scientists have concluded that there is a
correlation between temperature and rising levels of carbon dioxide. When there is more carbon
dioxide in the atmosphere the temperature rises because more heat from the sun is trapped
inside. We have already begun to see the effects of these rising temperatures. From melting
glaciers to severe storms, these environmental issues will only continue to worsen as emissions
of green house gases increase. Glaciers in Alaska, Peru, the Alps, and many more are melting at
rapid speeds. The Himalayan Glaciers have been among the most affected by global warming. The
glaciers provide drinking water to forty percent of the world s population. However, over the next

High School Dropout Rates
The APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the
United States, with a mission to advance the creation, communication, and application of
psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people s lives. For these reasons, it is not
surprising that the American Psychological Association published an article in May of 2013,
bringing to light the impact of family and community povertyon high schooldropouts (Rumberger,
2013). According to the APA, an estimated 1.1 million individuals did not earn a high school
diploma in 2012, and unfortunately the drop out and the drop out s family are not the only ones
affected, but the decision to drop out can also affect all of society as well. With lasting
consequences, even after earning a GED, it is safe to say that something must be done to reduce
the current dropout rate of approximately 7,000 people per day.
Why might not earning a high school diploma be such a big problem? To start, compared to high
school graduates, they are less likely to find a job and earn a living wage (Rumberger, 2013). It
might be necessary for a dropout to take advantage of public assistance ... Show more content on

Economic hardship may not only cause a great deal of stress for a high school dropout, but
conditions such as homelessness and hunger could also affect that dropout s children. The APA
suggests that poor students were five times more likely to drop out of high school than high income
students (Rumberger, 2013). Poor students may become very uninterested in their education if they
do not have a place to call home and they may even be unable to learn on an empty stomach, which
could result in another individual dropping out of school. The young students could also find it
necessary to search for employment in order to contribute to the home. It seems that dropping out

Tetralogy Of Fallot Essay
Having a diagnosis of Tetralogy of Fallot should mean having a death sentence. With an occurrence
rate of 3 in every 10,000, it is the most common cause of cyanotic cardiac disease. [Wynbrandt,
366] There are four defects that commonly occur together; ventricular septal defect, hypertrophied
right ventricle, malposition of the aorta, and pulmonary stenosis. For one to be diagnosed as a
Tetralogy of Fallot baby, the patient must present with at least two of the four defects. Any one of
these defects can cause serious catastrophe to the cardiac system. Combining these defects together
makes it that much more complicated for the cardiologist to correct. Without the advancements
made in cardiology, this diagnosis would mean certain death to the postnatal child. The congenital
defects of tetralogy of Fallot was named after a French physician, Louis Arthur Etienne Fallot in
1888. Fallot referred to the congenital condition as La Maladie Bleu because of the cyanotic
appearance of the patients. [Bailliard, OJRD] Fallot made significant advances in understanding the
defects and how this disrupted the correct bloodflow throughout the body. Fallot is responsible...

Malpositioned simply means that the aorta opens inside the heart in the wrong place. In a normal,
healthy heart, the aorta is connected to the left ventricle, allowing oxygen rich blood to be pumped
throughout the body. In patients suffering from tetralogy of Fallot, the aorta is slightly shifted to
the right. This slight shift places the artery directly over the ventricular septum defect, which is
typically located at the tip of the ventricles. As previously stated, the VSD allows oxygen rich and
oxygen poor blood to mix together. With the aorta being directly over the VSD, this allows the
mixture of blood to be pumped through the rest of the body, again contributing to the cyanotic

Heating For Heating Building Or House
Many technologies are available for heating building or house. Boilers are pressure vessels intended
to heat water or deliver steam which can then be used to give space heating and additionally benefit
water heating to a building. In most business building heating applications, the heating source in the
boileris a natural gas fired burner. Oil fired burners and electric resistance radiators can be used
too. Steam is favored over heated water in a few applications, counting absorption cooling,
kitchens, laundries, sterilizers, and steam driven hardware. Boilers have a few qualities that
have made them a typical component of buildings. They have a long life, can accomplish
efficiencies up to 95% or more, give a powerful strategy for heating a building and on account of
steam systems, require little or no pumping energy. Otherwise, fuel costs can be significant,
regular maintenance is required, and if support is deferred, repair can be exorbitant. Boilers are
regularly one of the biggest energy users in a building. For consistently a boiler system goes
unattended, boiler expenses can increase around 10%. Boiler operation and maintenance are in this
way a decent place to begin when searching for approaches to reduce energy use and save money.

Analysis Of Hesse s The World Of Light
Through the use of dualistic ideas of good and evil, the male and the female, and God and Satan,
Hesse successfully makes his audience question conventional ideas of what is good and what is
evil, and urges them to transcend modern societal norms of what is acceptable and what is
frowned upon. Instead, Hesse exhorts the reader into questioning what exactly defines a good life
versus a bad life, and begs the audience to reject the idea that one should consider what is good
and what is evil before acting, much like Demian. Hesse s examples of duality include the world of
light and the world of darkness, the masculine and the feminine, Godand Satan, and the self and
the herd. All of these ideas serve as a catalyst that galvanize Sinclair into taking a more active
role in his own life and help him grow into a more independent, critical thinker, free from all
social, political, and religious practice. I could honestly relate to Demian in his journey as he grew
up. However, even though our ideas about duality were fundamentally the same, mine also
extended to the duality between mind and body, as well as extending the idea of masculine and
feminine attributes to the more specific mother and father figures. Sinclair spent most of his
childhood shrouded in the world of light, made up mostly of religionand his family. Before Demian,
Sinclair was absolutely naГЇve, always accepting what he was told by his family and by the church
without question. Even though it is worth

Homeless War Veterans Essay

Speech 301: Public Speaking
Problem Solution Speech
Homeless Veteran s
INTRODUCTION: How many people have a Veteran in their family or know one? If yes do you
help them or is it someone else s problem. Well many people think it s someone else problem, but
the truth is it s our problem.
They gave there all for each of us!
PROBLEM: Veterans being let go from service without appropriate long tern help. Leaves
unthinkable large numbers of Veterans helpless without knowledge on how to fit back in to the
world they left behind, so they become homeless. This problem is out of control.
The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) states the nation s homeless veterans are
predominantly male, with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
But they need a voice and eyes to see their way
FACTS: The most effective programs for homeless and at risk veterans are community based,
nonprofit, veterans helping veterans groups. Programs that work best feature transitional housing,
with the camaraderie of living in structured, substance free environments with fellow veterans who
are succeeding at bettering themselves.
FACTS: VA estimates that 107,000 veterans are homeless on any given night, and over the course
of a year, approximately twice that many experience homelessness. Only eight percent of the
general population can claim veteran status, but nearly one fifth of the homeless population are
veterans.
Fact: VA s specialized homeless programs served more than 92,000 veterans in 2009, which is
highly commendable. This still leaves well over 100,000 more veterans,
Facts: Roughly 56 percent of all homeless veterans are African American or Hispanic, despite only
accounting for 12.8 percent and 15.4 percent of the U.S. population respectively
About 1.5 million other veterans, meanwhile, are considered at risk of homelessness due to poverty,
lack of support networks, and dismal living conditions in overcrowded or substandard housing.
Although flawless counts are impossible to come by the transient nature of homeless populations
presents a major difficulty VA estimates that 107,000 veterans are homeless on any given night.
Over the course of a year, approximately twice that many

Oligopoly
This paper will focus on the behaviour of oligopolists and the situations they are confronted with in
their daily business.
The paper is divided in three parts. The first part explains the basic keywords. The second part
tries to explain the nice and the sad sides of an oligopolist, and will discuss the consequences of
their behaviour.
As well, I will try to examine the statement being an oligopolist is not easy , and whether it is true
or whether the truth lies in between.
Aspects of Market Structure
The four types of market structure are listed in the drawing below:
Characteristics of an oligopoly

An oligopoly is a form of economy. Using the four firm concentration ration, an oligopoly is
defined as a market in which the four firm concentration ratio is above 40% according to Wikipedia.
In more general terms, a way of measuring market share is to look at the concentration ratio
(CRN): The N firm concentration ratio is the percentage of market output generated by the N
largest firms in the industry. We already covered the most used CR4 percentage of sales of the 4
top firms in the industry.
One measure of this ratio is the 5 firms concentration ratio which shows the market share of the 5
largest companies.
Normally an oligopoly exists when the top five firms in the market account for more than 60% of
total market demand/sales. Relating to the index featured above, the market share for standard and
emissionsВґ test remained approximately at over
98,76 % for the 5 top market players ( Dekra, TГњV, GTГњ, KГњS, FSP), so the company in
which I work is an oligopolist.
Oligopolical games as a Prisoners Dilemma
For understanding the function of oligopoly games, we need to define the game of prisonersВґ
dilemma. It is a game between two captured prisoners that illustrates why cooperation is difficult to
maintain even when it is mutually beneficial.
The oligopoly game is based on the prisonersВґ dilemma. It turns out that the game oligopolists
play in trying to reach the monopoly outcome is similar to the

Rebirth In Hinduism
When the charioteer of Prince Arjuna, Krishna (who is an avatar of the god Vishnu), tries to
convince the prince to fight against his own relatives, he invokes some of the core concepts of
Hinduism, such as karma, dharma, samsara, and brahman.
The avatar Krishna brought up Hindu concept of atman saying, the Eternal [atman] in man cannot
die . Hindus believe in brahman, the essence of life. The brahman in humans is the soul, or atman.
As opposed to the human body, the atman is eternal. The ultimate goal in Hinduismis to achieve
moksha, or reunion with brahman. But it takes multiple lifetimes to achieve moksha, so Hindus
believe in samsara, or rebirth. After the physical death of the human body, the atman then takes
another form and Krishna reminds Arjuna of this by saying, As...our mortal body wanders on in...

A person has a higher chance of being united with brahman if they build up good karma
throughout their lifetime. In order to build up good karma, one must fulfill his or her dharma.
Krishna repeatedly invokes this concept of dharma. Karma is a person s actions which, if used
to fulfill their dharma, lead to good karma. Good karma results in the person s atman being
reincarnated in a higher being, and so is therefore closer to achieving the ultimate goal of moksha,
or reunion with the divine. Since Prince Arjuna is a warrior, his duty is to fight. Krishna invokes
this by saying Think thou of thy duty and do not waver. Not fulfilling one s dharma means that
person will get bad karma, and therefore be farther away from achieving the Hindu goal of moksha.
Since Arjuna s duty is to fight, him not fighting, even if it means killing his own relatives, is him
not fulfilling his dharma.

Drug Addiction: Importance of a Support System
According to the National Institute on Drug Abuse, between 40 to 60 percent of patients relapse.
However, substance abuse addiction is a lifelong condition that can be successfully managed
through treatment providers. One of the keys to success with addiction recovery is a social support
system. http://www.drugabuse.gov/publications/principles drug addiction treatment research based

Drop Out
There are different reasons why patients drop out of treatment. For example, patients may be
unprepared to change, poorly motivated or inadequately committed to recovery. Certain patients
also struggle with limited resources, such as finances, housing or transportation. However,
according to a recent National Institute of Health report, the reasons for dropping out of treatment
are not typically related to the program, but are in fact personal. Surveyed clients cited lack of
social support and relationship with treatment staff as the primary reasons for dropping out of

As a result, drug addicts need constant social support in order to maintain sobriety. A safe and

The Education Of The United States And China
Modifying Education in the United States and China
Perhaps there is nothing more imperative to the success of a nation today than the education of its
people; developed education leads to innovation, an improved economy, and, possibly most
importantly, a confidence from society about government. The rise of every great nation has been
preceded by advancing education. Although education has been mostly examined from the
perspective of higher education in the past, this lens fails to provide an adequate picture of the
average citizen. Students now attend higher education at larger percentages than they did 50 years
ago; nevertheless, the only mandatory education that a citizen receives is as a minor, under the age
of 18. Developed nations ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nonetheless, China s leaders have done a magnificent job, particularly in the last 10 years, of
changing international perception about their international goals and their trustworthiness. More
people around the world have a positive image of China now than they have had in the past 50
years.
The United States, on the other hand, has seen a decrease in their global status since the 1980 s.
Although it remains a Superpower, more and more American citizens believe that their days as a
hegemon are behind them and that their leadership on the world stage is diminishing. This dying
belief in American exceptionalism is a problem for the US. In order to achieve many of its
domestic and international goals, a democratic government needs the support of its people, and if
the people decide they are no longer capable of, or interested in, being the world leader, their
position at the top is unsustainable. In the future, this waning attitude of exceptionalism is likely to
change the way that America interacts with both its allies and its adversaries.
Despite their differences in language and culture, China and the United States actually have many
striking similarities, one of them being that they are two of the most populated countries in the
world. Although the population of China is more than threefold that of the US, both countries
understand the struggle of protecting and providing for an enormous

CDs with their ability to form molecular inclusion complexes with drug substances, will affect
many of the physicochemical properties of the drugs without affecting their vital pharmacological

addition of small amounts of a hydrophilic polymer to drug CD complexes. Formation of ternary

Essay on The Importance of Loss in Scott Fitzgerald s...
The Importance of Loss in Scott Fitzgerald s Winter Dreams
In the traditional Romance narrative, there is some desirable object whose consummation is the
driving preoccupation of the text s protagonist. The aspiration of the Romantic hero is to capture
that elusive object that will, nevertheless, consistently out strip him. These heroes are intimately
acquainted with the pain of the loss and suffer deeply for feeling so acutely. However, loss itself,
is essential to the equation and is, in fact, a large portion of what establishes the thing as desirable.
In the texts of traditional Romanticism the individual has preeminence, and his or her subjective
psychological experience with the loss in question is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Here we are operating in a decidedly liminal sphere. Fitzgerald masterfully weaves this intricate
web whose lines are taut with the tension of the forces between which it is extended. He is quoted
as having said of his celebrated The Great Gatsby (of which Winter Dreamsis an early version):
That s the whole burden of the novel the loss of illusions that give such color to the world so
that you don t care whether things are true or false as long as they partake of the magical glory
(Preface, Gatsby XV). Referring back to the pivotal Realist question, Fitzgerald seems to be
indicating that what is as stake is the system that validates our notions of loss. The illusions that
give such color to the world have allowed us to passionately bemoan the loss of isolated actualized
selves, but strip away the illusion of the solipsistic being that is utterly impervious to social forces
and one it left with nothing to bemoan.
There is a passion in Winter Dreams protagonist Dexter Green that clings to the dream because
The thing was deep in him. He was too strong, too alive for it to die lightly (2136). And yet, of
his love for the alluringly elusive Judy Jones, we are told: It excited him that many men had loved
her. It increased her value in his eyes [my italics] (N 2131). In these two statements we see the
narrator s stylistic shift between an admiration

Zoroastrianism In Religion
Zoroastrianism is the world s oldest living monotheistic religion. It may have very few followers
today but it is one of the most influential religions of all time. It eventually led to many of the ideas
of big religions today including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Zoroastrianism is a very important
religionyet if you ask someone on the street they would most likely never have heard of it or its
ideas. The two biggest ideas of Zoroastrianismare Dualism, their GodAhura Mazda, and the
Amensha spirits. To begin, dualism is the idea of the complete separation of good and evil both
morally and cosmically. The battle between the two will never be over and one will never win,
Good and evil fight an unequal battle in which the former is assured of triumph. God s
omnipotence is thus only temporarily limited (Duchesne Guillemin 1). Good and evil work against
each other but they also need each other in order to survive. Without evil, good could not exist
Foremost, moral dualism is the fight between good and evil in each and every person mind and
body. Essentially, the good angel on one shoulder and the evil devil on the other. In good people, the
good in them is winning the battle and shining through into how they interact with others and how

Seamus Heaney Digging
amp;#8220;Digging ; is about a person looking out of a window at their Father digging, describing
what he/she sees and then the poem goes on to describe what he/she feels.
I believe that the narrative voice in the poem is in fact that of Seamus Heaney. There are a number
of clues that lead me to this conclusion. The first and most obvious one is in the first line,
amp;#8216;Between my finger and my thumb. amp;#8217;
The poet writes in the first person throughout the poem. He writes about his Father and his
Grandfather and he seems to move from describing his Father to describing his Grandfather. He
does this so smoothly that the reader harldy notices the transition that took place. The second clue
is slightly more hidden. The poet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
That line also paints an image in the readers mind of the spade sinking in and the scratching/rasping
sound it makes. An example of how the author does the same thing only with the sense touch is,
amp;#8216;The coarse boot nestled on the lug, the shaft Against the inside knee was levered
firmly. amp;#8217; In this case the second line emphasizes the first. It does this by using the words
levered and firmly they make the whole phrase seem more realistic.
However the best possible example of this is when the poet uses two senses to emphasize sight
amp;#8216;The cold smell of potatoe mould, the squelch and slap Of soggy peat, the curt cuts of
an edge. amp;#8217;
These two lines not only include two senses but one of the senses uses two onomatopoeic words;
squelch and slap. These two words suggest someone moving through thick soggy mud for some
reason it also suggests to me that it was on a cold day.
In my opinion that line is also quite interesting to read because it paints a clear picture in my
mind amp;#8217;s eye of someone toiling and sloshing around in the mud. I think this is because
the poet uses words like; soggy, curt, cuts and edge. Since those words are sharp words they make
the phrase clearer and sharper in my mind amp;#8217;s eye.
I think the poet amp;#8217;s attitute to work is that of a perfectionist. I get this impression
because of how picky he is about describing the way his Father and

My Favorite Memories Of Reading
Don t be concerned, but my mom is suffering from tsundoku. Tsundoku is a Japanese word used
to describe the stock piling of books that you will never read. As long as I can remember my mom
has been bringing home heaps of books from anywhere she can get them. Last year, she came
home from the local library booksale with six bags of books. Yes, she loves to read, but she has not
read any of those books in the past year. Waiting to be shelved, most of them continue to sit on our
basement floor, collecting dust. This habit of my moms annoys me; nevertheless, I am very
thankful she loves to read and has passed on a portion of that loveto me. Books play a major part in
my life from memories of being read to when I was little, reading books I hated in school, and
falling in love with the characters of a breathtaking novel. The importance of reading in my life
goes all the way back to my childhood. In fact, one of my favorite memories of reading, comes
from my childhood. My sister and I loved the book Green Eggs and Ham, by Dr.Seuss; more
than that, we loved the funny voice our dad would use when he read it. We would beg him every
night to read us that book, and he always did. It was not until years later I realized that he was
not as fond of the book as we were. To this day I believe that my love of reading came from those
positive experiences as a child, and believe that every parent should take the time to read to their
children. As National Education Associationemployee,

Undoubtedly, this had an impact on the school system. Timelines are strictly tracked to ensure

order to improve we have to face our mistakes head on rather than avoid them. If we constantly
avoid them, a lesson is never learned which results in risks being taken that could be detrimental
to an individual s personal success and more importantly, in this case, their success in the
workplace. Having the ability to cope with change is essential to maintain a healthy lifestyle in
your personal life and your life at work. Change can happen so quickly many people are not
mentally prepared for it when it occurs. However, in the business world, it is something that
constantly happens and there is no way around it. This is one of the key reasons why having the
ability to cope with change is

Sappho s Use Of Imagery Essay
Imagery is utilized in literature to appeal to the reader s senses and to paint a picture in their
imagination. Poets use the images they create to help the reader interpret their writing. For
instance, in Psalm 104 descriptive language is used throughout to praise the beauty of earth as
god created. The poem opens by praising the greatness of the lord and continues into: Who
coverest thyself with as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain / Who layeth
the beams of his chambers into the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot (Lines 2 3). In these
lines the poet is explaining how god created the natural world. The reader can visually picture god
creating the heavens, in their vastness, just as if he were shaking out a curtain. Attempting to
picture the creation of heaven can be difficult, however, the author uses a simile to help readers
develop a clear picture.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, in Sappho s poem number 94, her use of imagery allows the reader to experience the
speaker s loss of their lover in lines 1 5:
I simply want to be dead.
Weeping she left me
with so many tears and said this:
Oh how badly things have turned out for us.
Sappho, I swear, against my will I leave you.
The poem is written as a conversation between Sappho and a woman who is leaving her,
probably to marry another. The reader can relate and feel Sappho s heartbreak and relate to her
agony. There is also a senseof fondness between the two women as the discuss the time they shared
together (lines 10 20).
Boat of Cypress, contained in the Classic of Poetry, also utilized imagery to allow the reader to
relate to the speaker of the poem.
The Boat of cypress drifts along, it drifts upon the steam.
Restless am I, I cannot sleep,
As though in torment and troubled.
Not am I lacking wine
To ease my mind and let me

Pilot Training Simulators
Ever since I was old enough to dream, I have imagined myself soaring with the eagles. My love
of flying has sculpted the way I live and the person I have become. Two years ago that passion
rocketed to new heights when I had the opportunity to visit Embry Riddle Aeronautical
University in Arizona. For a whole week I lived in a college dorm, roomed with a total stranger,
and best of all I flew! My group took part in activities ranging from learning about the history of
aviation to flying in state of the art pilot training simulators. At least once a day, I strapped myself
into one of the world s best training aircraft, the Cessna 182. Not only did I receive thorough
ground instruction, but I also got to fly. In total, I logged five hours

Iran Nuclear Deal Pros And Cons
I am writing to you in reference to the current national debate regarding the safety of the Iran
Nuclear Deal. Since the conclusion of World War II, a primary goal of US foreign policy has been
nuclear deterrence. However, the inevitability of technological advancement, has resulted in the
production and perfection of a powerful nuclear armament by nine different nations. The US and
our allies, have worked tirelessly to prevent the continued proliferation of nuclear weapons
primarily attempting to prevent countries such as Iran from procuring this technology. Under the
Obama administration, the US engaged in extensive negotiations, which culminated with the
ratification of the Iran Nuclear Deal in the summer of 2015. In short, this Deal lifts... Show more

At this point, the US had few options in which to prevent the continued advancement of the
Iranian nuclear program. However, the deal reached by the Obama administration, whose support
extends to the world s leading powers, significantly extends the time Iran would need to develop a
nuclear weapon and ensures that we have ample time to counteract any attempt at restarting the
Nuclear program. In addition, the US has made it clear that if Iran does violate the terms of the
deal, sanctions will be reimposed and more aggressive options could be taken. This deal is far
from perfect and there are legitimate concerns raised by its many critics. That being said, without
this deal, Iran could quickly double its capacity to enrich uranium and move towards producing a
bomb. One of the greatest criticism raised, is that the deal and provisions will expire. While some
are only in place for 10 25 years, the fundamental principle of the deal to preserve the peaceful
nature of its nuclear program are permanent. Unfortunately, neither military action, sanctions or this
deal for that matter can guarantee that Iran will never have in their possession a weapon of mass
destruction. However, this deal is

Reflection Of The Movie The Tempest
If there is a fact film directors apparently have not yet realized, it is that the extraordinary,
magnificent Shakespeare plays simply cannot ever be transformed into films. With every
Shakespeare film released we witnessed this in the predictable, gullible and ludicrous acting of
Leonardo DiCaprio in the vulgar 1997 Romeo and Juliet, and in the poor filmography of Roman
Polansky s Macbeth. Therefore, when I was preparing myself to watch the modern version of The
Tempest, filmed in 2010, I was expecting an abysmal quality of acting. My own thoughts about the
movie astonished me, especially as opposed to my fear of seeing a young Dicaprio on my screen in
a lead role, once again. The incredible Hellen Mirren as a female version of Prospero, a somewhat
provocative choice of Djimon... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The prominent theme of forgiveness the play s crux which is illuminated through the emotional
process of decision is emphasized through other filmographic elements, such as the Musical Score
and the visual effects enabling portrayal of Ariel. After watching the film, I myself was astonished
by what it exposed about humans; why is it so difficult for us to forgive? To release the past and
stop trying to take revenge? And whether I am going to stop asking question about the human
condition in this movie review? As a matter of fact, in spite of my strong distaste for earlier
Shakespeare films, the same forgiveness is evident in The Merchant of Venice and other plays.
Another theme is fate. Taymor was able to successfully apply and emphasize it in the film. For
instance, the concern that Ferdinand is dead and Miranda s fear of the fate of the visitors, are both
emphasized through the usage of facial expressions and lighting in accordance with tone. Overall,
both themes are conveyed effectively; Evidence A, the reconciliation with a friend days after

Cranberry and Berries Essay
National Cranberry Cooperative Case

To begin with, this assignment is done with Kim Seo Yeon (20100472, Sociology). National
Cranberry Cooperative Case is the study done by the Harvard Business School about a process of
warehousing from the delivery and arriving of cranberry to a manufacturing in the warehouse.
National Cranberry Cooperative was an organization formed and owned by growers of cranberries
to process and markets their berries. The handling of process fruit RP1 was highly mechanized. The
process could be classified into several operations; receiving and testing, dumping, temporary
holding, destroying, dechaffing, drying separation and bulking and bagging. The objective of the

In addition, wet bin capacity is 3,200 barrels so, according to hourly inventory increasing rate, after
passing 5.25 hours, trucks should wait to unload berries. Moreover, overworks should be done for
22.2 hours because workers should dry 13,300 barrels of the berries, but the drying capacity is only
600 barrel per hour besides the arrival rate is 1,210 barrels per hour.
To solve this problem, I would recommend to add dryers ($25,000 per each and capacity increases
200 barrels per each) or wet bins ($5,000 per each and capacity increases 250 barrels per each) for
short term. We can suggest three options to solve this matter. First, we can add no dryers but
convert 15 bins. Second, we can add a dryer and convert 6 bins too. Third, we can add 2 dryers, not
to convert any bins. As first option, we need only additional cost of $75,000, which is calculated by
$5,000 x 15 bins. By practicing first option, the wet bin storage increases to 6,950, so we can cover
all the arrivals of the berries this is done for not to make trucks to wait. In the second option, when
we add a dryer, we can handle 800 barrels per hour in drying process and we can reduce the
overworking time from 22.2 hour to 16.6 hour. (13,300 barrel / 800 barrel equals to 16.6 hours per
a day) We can estimate overtime saved cost and it is closely related to labor cost. Labor cost

Global Fund Advisor Introduced Webs
Chapter 1 : Introduction: The idea of ETF was first perceived by NATHAN MOST in 1993.
Nathan s first ETF was called SPARD (also referred to as SPIDER) and it was first traded on the
American stock exchange (AMEX) by state street GA. SPARD s only purpose is to track the S
P 500. The number of ETFs that track different indexes all over the world exchange markets have
increased significantly since 1993. SPARD, as a first ETF, dominated the markets in the 1990s,
together with CUBES, which was designed to track NASDAQ 100. The ETF is a financial
product, which has attracted a large number of financial product designers. The ETF as a
creative idea has opened a significant number of empty rooms on the exchange market, which
needed to be filled with new ETF products. This is what attracted the financial product designers
to create different types of ETFs in the last 21 years. Barclays global fund advisor introduced
WEBS (world equity benchmark shares) in 1996 as a first ETF to provide American investors
with easy access to the forging markets. They created a family of ETFs and each ETF had
ishares as a first name and the index it followed as a second name (Ferri, 2002) . The ETF
influence could first be seen in Europe, when the German Deutsche bank presented an ETF linked
to commodity in 2006 (Fuchita Yasuyuki, 2007). ETF Barclays continued to generate new EFT
products by launching the first ETF linked to the bond price index in 2002.The ETF as a financial

A Philosophical View Of Animal Rights
A Philosophical View of Animal Rights
Should animals be harmed to benefit mankind? This pressing question has been around for at least
the past two centuries. During the early nineteenth century, animal experiments emerged as an
important method of science and, in fact, marked the birth of experimental physiology and
neuroscience as we currently know it. There were, however, guidelines that existed even back then
which restricted the conditions of experimentation. These early rules protected the animals, in the
sense that all procedures performed were done so with as little pain as possible and solely to
investigate new truths. Adopting the animals? perspectives, they would probably not agree that
these types of regulations were much ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
(Rodd 4). So, it is easily seen how many views have accumulated over time. The task of
determining animal rights has also come into the context of examining these inherent differences on
qualitative and quantitative levels. We can say, for instance, that on a qualitative level, a cow is less
intelligent than a human. But, we must then determine, on a quantitative level, how much more
unintelligent that cow really is when compared to humans. And, once we decide that, we must then
decide if that margin of intelligence is enough for us humans to slaughter that cow in order to
benefit human kind from its products.
Questions like this and others, which are very similar, have become the snowballing debate over
the question of animal rights. Where do we draw the line? How do we determine the value of
another being?s life? Well, up to this point, we as a society have been pretty confident in judging
the lives of millions of animals worldwide (or so we can conclude by looking at the number of
animals sacrificed each year for the purpose of experiment, education, goods, etc.). We must first
step back and analyze the ethical dilemma at hand and then proceed to carefully weigh its
consequences.
If we examine the question of animal rights cautiously, it is most often viewed as an ethical
dilemma as opposed to an economic or

Oedipus has a treacherous ethical wrongdoing. He is in an incest relationship with his mother,

Dealing with Missing Information in a Data Warehouse
Today businesses are investing many resources in building data warehouses and data marts to

enable them to achieve, among other things, sustainable competitive advantage, increased revenues
and a better bottom line.
In the early 90s, data warehousing applications were either strategic or tactical in nature. Trending

These facts are then cycled back as input the next time the fact table is built. One can try
reprocessing the fact record until there is no more missing information.
When correcting the missing information, consider the following questions. * Does the fact
record only come from the source system once? * Is there a possibility that a row will become
associated with a dummy dimension record because of edits? * Can changes or fixes to related
dimensions result in the reassignment of dummy foreign keys to correct values?
If the answer to all three of these questions is yes, then reprocessing may be required. The final test
is to balance the cost of development versus the benefits of implementation. Is this type of error
likely to occur, and is ultimately obtaining the correct information of value to the organization? If
yes, then reprocess the fact record.
If you have determined that reprocessing is required, you may either update the fact record or back
out the original fact record with an offset entry followed by the insertion of the correct fact record.

How Did The Oka Crisis Affect Canada
The Oka Crisis was a 78 Day standoff between Mohawk people and the town of Oka, Quebec .
The crisis was initially caused by Mohawk protests on July 11th, 1990, when the town was
planning to expand a golf course further onto First Nations land. When the golf course was
originally built, it was 9 holes long and was constructed on disputed land, but the town of Oka
and their mayor now wanted to expand this golf course to 18 holes to earn more profit and please
other members of the community. Therefore, they would be taking over more of the land where
the Mohawks had settled. The town of Oka, as well as many other provincial federal governments
and municipalities had taken away land belonging to First Nationspeople in the past, and the dispute
over land in this small Quebectown had been occurring since 1717.
The purpose of this essay is to investigate whether the Oka Crisis has had a positive or negative
effect on First Nations affairs in Canada. There are many opinions that could be explored based on
research of the crisis. The side that the crisis had a negative effect on Canada could be taken,
because the crisis created tension in relations between the government and the Mohawks and caused

events at Oka reminds Canadians that governments are flawed and that the desire for achieving a

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Overdraft
1.Overdraft
Overdraft may occur when the amount of money which is withdrawn from a bank account exceeds
the amount available (Overdraft, 2015). Normally it happens when an individual writes the total on
the check more than the total balance in the account. The bank will cover the checks and allows the
customers to deposit or place more funds into the account in order to cover the negative balance. In
addition, the bank will charge an interest at the agreed rate (Overdraft, 2015) on this short term loan
instead of charging fees. Basically, the bank would not reject the customers check when there is no
enough funds which are available to cover up because the customes pay for the overdraft protection
on their account.

  • 5. The One Minute Manager By Ken Blanchard And Spencer Johnson In my own opinion, a good leader does not simply get more followers, but creates more leaders. In the book The One Minute Manager by Ken Blanchard and Spencer Johnson, this idea is upheld. The book is simple, short, and extremely effective. Its goal is for people to enjoy more success with less stress, and that is exactly what it does. It is also been awarded The All Time #1 Best Seller on Managing Your Work and Life. The One Minute Manager is a book told in the third person. Within the book there are multiple people the reader is introduced to. First, there is the main character. From the list the three people include, Mr. Trenell, Mr. Levy, and Ms. Brown. As he goes and talks to each one of them, he learns more and more about what it means to be a One Minute Manager. Mr. Trenell tells the man about One Minute Goal Setting. This involves a six step process. First, you must agree on your goals. Second, see what good behavior looks like in order to achieve goals. Next, you write out each of your goals on a single sheet of paper using less than 250 words. After that you read and re read each goal, which requires only a minute or so each time you do it. Then, take a minute every once in a while out of your day to look at your performance. Finally, see whether or not your behavior matches your goal (pg. 34). Once the young man learned One Minute Goal Setting, he was on his way to meet Mr. Levy to learn the next step. Mr. Levy goes into the topic of One Minute Praisings. To start a One Minute Praising, you first must tell people up front that you are going to let them know how they are doing. If they do something right, praise them immediately, and tell them what the did right while being specific. Tell people how good you feel about what they did right, and how it helps the organization and the other people who work there. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 7. Mummification throughout the World Mummies of humans and animals have been found throughout the world. The most well known culture for preserving the dead with mummification were the ancient Egyptians. Although mummification existed before the Egyptians with mummies from northern Chile, the Egyptians were focused on the prospect of eternal life, which meant preserving the body for life. The earliest process of mummification took place as early as 3000 BC. Special priests worked as embalmers, caring for and wrapping the body. Beyond knowing the correct rituals and prayers to be performed at various stages, the priests also needed a detailed knowledge of human anatomy. The first step in the process was to remove all internal parts that might decay quickly. The brain was removed by carefully inserting special hooked instruments up through the nostrils in order to pull out bits of brain tissue. It was a hard job, one which a wrong move could easily disfigure the face. The priest then removed the organs of the gut and chest through a cut usually made on the left side of the abdomen, (except the heart) and stored in canopic jars. The skulls of the dead would then be filled with a thick plant paste. It wasn t until the Middle Kingdom(2050 BC and 1652 BC) that the process began to take on a more advanced form. After removing organs and the brain ,the caretakers would use natural salts to remove moisture from the bodies of the dead, drying out flesh and bone. The emptied bodies were then covered in salt to ... • 8. Pros And Cons Of Millennials In today s world, millennials consistently want to take the easy way out for everything. It seems such an easy way for them to accomplish things a lot quicker, yet they find they have a much higher rate of making mistakes. This idea happens so much that it is starting to affect their school work, causing them to not get as high of grades as they want or need. For years professors have debated whether handwritten notes or computer notes are better. Both these methods have their pros and cons, but only one has been shown to improve a students learning ability. Typing notes has shown to be favored by these millennials. This is because they tend to take short cuts in attempt to minimize time spent on everyday tasks and typing overall decreases the amount of effort applied. According to Plaza College, a reason students chose typed notes over handwritten is because of the needed time to type notes is less tasking. Typing the notes is quicker because most students entering high school or college have taken a computer typing class which enhances their ability to type quicker than they can write. Another pro of this method is the idea of quick access to the internet. For example, if a student is in class and the teacher starts explaining a topic that is unfamiliar with them they can quickly access the internet and get information on the topic. Along with pros to this method there are some cons for it too. Very few students see negatives in typing their notes. One major con for ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Essay on Evolution of the Automobile Industry and Henry Ford Evolution of the Automobile Industry and Henry Ford Henry Ford, the high priest of efficiency, was the tinkerer craftsman who produced one of many horseless carriages, the automobile. Nearly three years after his only son was born in 1893, Ford succeeded in producing his first car. After months of vigorous work and two final sleepless nights, the Quadricycle tolled out of Ford s garage. The Quadricycle was a primitive machine, with a tiller for a steering wheel, bicycle tires, a bicycle seat and a bicycle chain to transfer the power of the engine to the wheels. Engine manufacturing plants did not exist, so Ford s car was constructed entirely by hand, with common parts recycled into new uses. A house doorbell was the horn.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ford revealed many new models in the next three years following the production of Model A. In January of 1906, his newest automobile, Model N, was produced. The car was the only 600 dollar vehicle with a four cylinder engine. The Ford sold over 800 units in the twelve months, ending in December of 1907. This was five times the amount of their previous annual sales. By the end of 1907, the company had made over one million in profit of sales of 4.7 million dollars. This profit was outstanding for the company, however, the consumers wanted a lower price for the automobile. This forced Henry Ford to promise in 1905 to build a high grade touring car and sell it at an unheard of price, and now, just as surely as every claim made for the small car was made good, just so surely has Ford made good this promise. The Model T was that car. The car that was promised a four cylinder, twenty horse power touring car. The Model T was a roomy, commodious, comfortable family car, that basically was as good as it got. Key Issues, Problems And Decision Making Section 2: Key Issues, Problems and Decision Making This was a very important time for Lands End as very key changes were being made in the organization. The company had introduced a new customized Chino program in 2001 with a further addition edition of shirts in the following year. This was done to take advantage of the web based service it was already providing and to make more efficient and profitable sales. This helped an increase in sales of 40% as compared to previous years and what was interesting to note that at that time, none of the company s competitor were offering this service, showing that technology was giving Lands End a competitive advantage. Therefore it was hard to believe that Lands End could maintain its competitive advantage through just use of superior technology. Maturing growth in the USA and abroad had forced the company to reduce its number of catalog pages and mail fewer books. Lands End was reaching logical limitations of what the catalog could do for them The last key issue was the company s decision to be acquired by Sears at $1.9 billion where it had the exclusive right to sell Lands End product in its retail stores. This new horizontal integration had left a big question on whether Lands End will be able to earn profits under this new organization and whether any conflict will arise with this new establishment. At that time the company was facing declining sales in catalogs and already was in talks with Sears in the previous years believing that the retail stores would be a key addition to the platform for selling its products. The retail stores would be used to showcase the Lands End products and if any product found unsatisfactory through catalog and online purchase could be returned through these stores as well. There were a number of key decisions that were needed to be made in order to ensure a successful future of Lands End. The first was that should Lands End continues to partner with ASI as they had started providing similar services to Lands End competitor and helping them achieve a much cheaper and better product. The very thin layer of atmosphere is being thickened by carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases. The atmosphere is trapping infrared radiation instead of allowing it to escape into the universe, and as a result the temperature of the earth is getting too warm and causing even more severe problems. Roger Revelle was the first person to recognize the impact of green house gases on our planet and he proposed measuring the amount of carbon dioxide in the earth s atmosphere. His measurements showed a chart of drastically rising levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere which are harmful to earth s ecosystems. Scientists have concluded that there is a correlation between temperature and rising levels of carbon dioxide. When there is more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere the temperature rises because more heat from the sun is trapped inside. We have already begun to see the effects of these rising temperatures. From melting glaciers to severe storms, these environmental issues will only continue to worsen as emissions of green house gases increase. High School Dropout Rates The APA is the leading scientific and professional organization representing psychology in the United States, with a mission to advance the creation, communication, and application of psychological knowledge to benefit society and improve people s lives. For these reasons, it is not surprising that the American Psychological Association published an article in May of 2013, bringing to light the impact of family and community povertyon high schooldropouts (Rumberger, 2013). According to the APA, an estimated 1.1 million individuals did not earn a high school diploma in 2012, and unfortunately the drop out and the drop out s family are not the only ones affected, but the decision to drop out can also affect all of society as well. With lasting consequences, even after earning a GED, it is safe to say that something must be done to reduce the current dropout rate of approximately 7,000 people per day. With an occurrence rate of 3 in every 10,000, it is the most common cause of cyanotic cardiac disease. [Wynbrandt, 366] There are four defects that commonly occur together; ventricular septal defect, hypertrophied right ventricle, malposition of the aorta, and pulmonary stenosis. For one to be diagnosed as a Tetralogy of Fallot baby, the patient must present with at least two of the four defects. Any one of these defects can cause serious catastrophe to the cardiac system. Combining these defects together makes it that much more complicated for the cardiologist to correct. Without the advancements made in cardiology, this diagnosis would mean certain death to the postnatal child. The congenital defects of tetralogy of Fallot was named after a French physician, Louis Arthur Etienne Fallot in 1888. Fallot referred to the congenital condition as La Maladie Bleu because of the cyanotic appearance of the patients. In a normal, healthy heart, the aorta is connected to the left ventricle, allowing oxygen rich blood to be pumped throughout the body. In patients suffering from tetralogy of Fallot, the aorta is slightly shifted to the right. This slight shift places the artery directly over the ventricular septum defect, which is typically located at the tip of the ventricles. As previously stated, the VSD allows oxygen rich and oxygen poor blood to mix together. With the aorta being directly over the VSD, this allows the mixture of blood to be pumped through the rest of the body, again contributing to the cyanotic presentation of the ... Boilers are pressure vessels intended to heat water or deliver steam which can then be used to give space heating and additionally benefit water heating to a building. In most business building heating applications, the heating source in the boileris a natural gas fired burner. Oil fired burners and electric resistance radiators can be used too. Steam is favored over heated water in a few applications, counting absorption cooling, kitchens, laundries, sterilizers, and steam driven hardware. Boilers have a few qualities that have made them a typical component of buildings. They have a long life, can accomplish efficiencies up to 95% or more, give a powerful strategy for heating a building and on account of steam systems, require little or no pumping energy. Analysis Of Hesse s The World Of Light Through the use of dualistic ideas of good and evil, the male and the female, and God and Satan, Hesse successfully makes his audience question conventional ideas of what is good and what is evil, and urges them to transcend modern societal norms of what is acceptable and what is frowned upon. Instead, Hesse exhorts the reader into questioning what exactly defines a good life versus a bad life, and begs the audience to reject the idea that one should consider what is good and what is evil before acting, much like Demian. Hesse s examples of duality include the world of light and the world of darkness, the masculine and the feminine, Godand Satan, and the self and the herd. All of these ideas serve as a catalyst that galvanize Sinclair into taking a more active role in his own life and help him grow into a more independent, critical thinker, free from all social, political, and religious practice. I could honestly relate to Demian in his journey as he grew up. However, even though our ideas about duality were fundamentally the same, mine also extended to the duality between mind and body, as well as extending the idea of masculine and feminine attributes to the more specific mother and father figures. He is quoted as having said of his celebrated The Great Gatsby (of which Winter Dreamsis an early version): That s the whole burden of the novel the loss of illusions that give such color to the world so that you don t care whether things are true or false as long as they partake of the magical glory (Preface, Gatsby XV). Referring back to the pivotal Realist question, Fitzgerald seems to be indicating that what is as stake is the system that validates our notions of loss. The illusions that give such color to the world have allowed us to passionately bemoan the loss of isolated actualized selves, but strip away the illusion of the solipsistic being that is utterly impervious to social forces and one it left with nothing to bemoan. There is a passion in Winter Dreams protagonist Dexter Green that clings to the dream because The thing was deep in him. He was too strong, too alive for it to die lightly (2136). • 33. Zoroastrianism In Religion Zoroastrianism is the world s oldest living monotheistic religion. It may have very few followers today but it is one of the most influential religions of all time. It eventually led to many of the ideas of big religions today including Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. Zoroastrianism is a very important religionyet if you ask someone on the street they would most likely never have heard of it or its ideas. The two biggest ideas of Zoroastrianismare Dualism, their GodAhura Mazda, and the Amensha spirits. To begin, dualism is the idea of the complete separation of good and evil both morally and cosmically. The battle between the two will never be over and one will never win, Good and evil fight an unequal battle in which the former is assured of triumph. God s omnipotence is thus only temporarily limited (Duchesne Guillemin 1). Good and evil work against each other but they also need each other in order to survive. Without evil, good could not exist Foremost, moral dualism is the fight between good and evil in each and every person mind and body. Essentially, the good angel on one shoulder and the evil devil on the other. In good people, the good in them is winning the battle and shining through into how they interact with others and how they live their live. In bad people, the evil in them shines through and ... Seamus Heaney Digging amp;#8220;Digging ; is about a person looking out of a window at their Father digging, describing what he/she sees and then the poem goes on to describe what he/she feels. I believe that the narrative voice in the poem is in fact that of Seamus Heaney. There are a number of clues that lead me to this conclusion. The first and most obvious one is in the first line, amp;#8216;Between my finger and my thumb. amp;#8217; The poet writes in the first person throughout the poem. He writes about his Father and his Grandfather and he seems to move from describing his Father to describing his Grandfather. He does this so smoothly that the reader harldy notices the transition that took place. The second clue is slightly more hidden. The poet ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... An example of how the author does the same thing only with the sense touch is, amp;#8216;The coarse boot nestled on the lug, the shaft Against the inside knee was levered firmly. amp;#8217; In this case the second line emphasizes the first. It does this by using the words levered and firmly they make the whole phrase seem more realistic. However the best possible example of this is when the poet uses two senses to emphasize sight amp;#8216;The cold smell of potatoe mould, the squelch and slap Of soggy peat, the curt cuts of an edge. amp;#8217; These two lines not only include two senses but one of the senses uses two onomatopoeic words; squelch and slap. These two words suggest someone moving through thick soggy mud for some reason it also suggests to me that it was on a cold day. In my opinion that line is also quite interesting to read because it paints a clear picture in my mind amp;#8217;s eye of someone toiling and sloshing around in the mud. I think this is because the poet uses words like; soggy, curt, cuts and edge. Since those words are sharp words they make the phrase clearer and sharper in my mind amp;#8217;s eye. Yes, she loves to read, but she has not read any of those books in the past year. Waiting to be shelved, most of them continue to sit on our basement floor, collecting dust. My sister and I loved the book Green Eggs and Ham, by Dr.Seuss; more than that, we loved the funny voice our dad would use when he read it. We would beg him every night to read us that book, and he always did. It was not until years later I realized that he was not as fond of the book as we were. Poets use the images they create to help the reader interpret their writing. For instance, in Psalm 104 descriptive language is used throughout to praise the beauty of earth as god created. The poem opens by praising the greatness of the lord and continues into: Who coverest thyself with as with a garment: who stretchest out the heavens like a curtain / Who layeth the beams of his chambers into the waters: who maketh the clouds his chariot (Lines 2 3). In these lines the poet is explaining how god created the natural world. The reader can visually picture god creating the heavens, in their vastness, just as if he were shaking out a curtain. Moreover, overworks should be done for 22.2 hours because workers should dry 13,300 barrels of the berries, but the drying capacity is only 600 barrel per hour besides the arrival rate is 1,210 barrels per hour. To solve this problem, I would recommend to add dryers ($25,000 per each and capacity increases 200 barrels per each) or wet bins ($5,000 per each and capacity increases 250 barrels per each) for short term. We can suggest three options to solve this matter. First, we can add no dryers but convert 15 bins. Second, we can add a dryer and convert 6 bins too. Third, we can add 2 dryers, not to convert any bins. As first option, we need only additional cost of $75,000, which is calculated by $5,000 x 15 bins. By practicing first option, the wet bin storage increases to 6,950, so we can cover all the arrivals of the berries this is done for not to make trucks to wait. In the second option, when we add a dryer, we can handle 800 barrels per hour in drying process and we can reduce the overworking time from 22.2 hour to 16.6 hour. (13,300 barrel / 800 barrel equals to 16.6 hours per a day) We can estimate overtime saved cost and it is closely related to labor cost. Labor cost ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The task of determining animal rights has also come into the context of examining these inherent differences on qualitative and quantitative levels. We can say, for instance, that on a qualitative level, a cow is less intelligent than a human. But, we must then determine, on a quantitative level, how much more unintelligent that cow really is when compared to humans. And, once we decide that, we must then decide if that margin of intelligence is enough for us humans to slaughter that cow in order to benefit human kind from its products. Questions like this and others, which are very similar, have become the snowballing debate over the question of animal rights. Where do we draw the line? How do we determine the value of another being?s life? Well, up to this point, we as a society have been pretty confident in judging the lives of millions of animals worldwide (or so we can conclude by looking at the number of animals sacrificed each year for the purpose of experiment, education, goods, etc.).
