If you re cooking has resulted in baked on grease, the best way to eliminate the problem is by
convincing someone else to do the dishes. Barring that, there are several home remedies you can
try to make getting rid of cooking grease easier so you can use less elbow grease. Different methods
will work on different sources of grease and different pan finishes, so keep experimenting until you
find the method that works best in your kitchen.
Fill the pan with very hot water. Place two or three dryer sheets in the water with a drop of dish

Aristotle s Rhetoric And The Three Different Formations...
Rorty (1996) states, The proper aim of the rhetoric is that of finding the best available means of
persuasion, whatever the subject me be (1355a4 ff., 1355b26 ff.) (p. 1). This is exactly what
Aristotle does through the use of the rhetoric and the three different formations of the theory he
created. Aristotle was very adamant on the use of rhetoricwhen addressing an audience. Rorty
(1996) claims that Aristotle chides the authors of earlier handbooks on rhetoric for concentrating
primarily on techniques for swaying the emotions of judges and legislators, instead of first and
primarily considering the best modes of persuasion(p. 2). The use of persuasion was deemed more
important to Aristotle than trying to change ones emotions instead. Also stated The best orator
does not manipulate beliefs in order to make the worse appear to be the better course, but rather
presents the best case in a way that is comprehensible and moving to each type of character
(1113a3o ff.) (Rorty, 1996, p. 2). The speaker should not take the audience as a whole and degrade
the topic they are speaking about to try to change the perspective of the people in the audience.
Aristotle would rather the speaker make the most intellectual argument available to try and change
the opinions of each individual.
A study was done using the rhetoric in advertisement today. The study was done to investigate how
rhetoric values can be found within a few controversial ad settings. This jest of this study is to

We Can Use Mass Media And Social Media
My classmates and friends helped shape my political opinions by being a source of information
for me. Hearing news from my peers and then hearing their opinions on this news kind of
persuaded my beliefs because I would feel that I need to fit in and to do so I would have to
conform to the beliefs of others. In the early years of my life I did not have much of an opinion
and I didn t believe that my beliefs mattered. I remember hearing a lot about how my vote doesn t
matter, and how I am just a single fish in an entire sea. This meant to me that my voice would not
be heard. Now I know that this isn t true, and if any American wants to be heard, there are
numerous methods of speaking. We can use mass media, social media, we can write to our
legislators, and we can even express our first amendment rights.
The process of political socialization occurs from as young as we can remember and continues
through to adulthood. All throughout my youth I would listen, while others would talk about how
something was not going their way, and therefore, blame the government for this. Even in school,
teachers would refer to how a certain political figure, or legislative action would condemn them to
lesser pay than they deserve. To balance these actions teachers, form unions and can express their
first amendment right and peacefully assemble to protest their wages. I ve seen it over the entire
course of my education. There are many instances where I witnessed individuals assemble for or

most difficult she has ever had. There are two students inarticulate who she thinks have real
unaddressed medical issues. These students are constantly a disruption to her class. During my
visit the teachers were celebrating Halloween with their classrooms. The teacher next door
provided her students with Oreos for snack. One of the boys shoved both of his Oreos in his
mouth and began screaming and crying that he was still hungry. She was out of Oreos and tried to
offer him something else but he refused, still screaming and crying that he was hungry. The student

Battle Of Midway During World War II
Battle of Midway
The Battle of Midway was a very important battle in the Second World War because it basically
shaped out the war for the Allied Powers, as well as for the Axis Powers. This battle also happens
to be one of the most important naval battle of the time. The Battle of Midway was a very
important battle in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. The battle was between The United States
of America and the Empire of Japan. This would be the second battle that would feature of the
United States in World War II, as it took place 6 months after the Japanese attacked the U.S.
naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Major advancements in technology would be seen for the
first time in this battle, which would prove to be crucial. Today, the battle is recognized as a big
contribution for the Allied Power s victory in World War II. On December 7, 1941, Japanese
fighter pilots attacked the U.S. naval base of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Just over 2,000 men lost
their lives during the attack. Just a few days later, the United States declared war on Japan. Five
months after the attacks in May 1942, The Battle of the Coral Sea took place, which featured a
victory for the Japanese. This battle happened to bo the first action in which aircraft carriers
engaged each other. Though the battle ended in a victory for the Japanese, it turned out to be a
strategic victory for the Allies. Several Japanese carriers were damaged during Coral Sea, and were
used again in the Battle of Midway. This

Police Officers And Law Enforcement
Despite some police officers might use authority to frighten and approach others in any way they
like, there is still a great amount of officers that do live up to the standard to serve and protect
others. Police officers are often needed to reinstate order and regain the compliance from very
hostile situations. Policeofficers are sometimes required to use force that is not considered
excessive or the possibility of being accused or seen as brutality.
We can see that the media focuses greatly on these issues of appropriate extents of force and
deadly force that is used by law enforcement. Society has always been observing law enforcement
through the lens of a microscope and focusing on the negative light that has been shedding over ...

The relationship with the community, groups with special interests, and also politics may play a
great portion in the configuration of these changes. Several centuries ago, common law was divided
into three special classifications: felony, treason, and misdemeanor. In those times felonies were
punishable by death. During the seventeenth century, when a police officer was conducting an
arrest, they were regulated to exercising deadly force as a last resort (Littlejohn, 1984). During the
nineteenth century, the same rule was still being enforced. The last resort rule began to diminish
towards the end of the nineteenth century. Currently police officers have other tools available that
allows them to resort to under different circumstances. Even though there are many different police
departments and different agencies, they are all pretty much guided under the same rules regarding
deadly force and it s use.
Annually, data concerning law enforcement is collected in a Uniform Crime Report, but it does
not gather information on recent acts a police officer can do (Burghart, 2014). Limited intelligence
is exposed about police violence. There are many real life situations that we have observed on the
news and in the media. The law demands that the federal government must accumulate data on
police shootings, but there is no obligation that a police department has to do so (Fisher, 2014). The

Suicide and the Harm Principle
The Right to Suicide and Harm
Suicide under circumstances of extreme suffering is the morally right action as opposed to the
alternative, living in pain. J.S. Mill s Utilitarian ideals provide strong reasoning to support suicide
in instances of severe pain, while Kant s moral theory of the categorical imperative provides
reasoning against taking one s own life. Mill s principle of utility is the maximization of pleasure
and the reduction of pain. Mill regards happiness as the greatest good in life and all actions should
be performed as long as they have the tendency to produce pleasure. Mill also introduces the Harm
Principle. The Harm Principle is used to determine whether coercion is justifiable based on the
impact of individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Mill would invoke the Harm Principle. The act of committing suicide would be a self regarding act.
As the harm is directly imposed on herself, all other consequences of her action are considered
indirect as they occur through Jane s self regarding act. Hence, Jane should suffer no moral or legal
sanctions for committing suicide. Furthermore, she has evaluated her options and upon deep
consideration, decided that the pain of living with her condition outweighs the pleasure of living
with her condition. A utility calculation can be formalized to further justify her decision on
utilitarian grounds. (Utilitarianism)
For Jane: 1. Tendency to cause pleasure: 100 units 2. Tendency to cause pain: 50 units
For the aggregate of the other people affected: 3. Tendency to cause pleasure: 10 units 4. Tendency
to cause pain: 20 units
Hence: Pleasure: 110 units, Pain: 70 units. Perform the action.
For Jane, dying would be the ultimate pleasure as it is the end of her suffering. She views suicide as
the mean to her ultimate end: happiness. For Jane, the pain of dying is less than the pain of
living. After seeing her mother die from Parkinson s disease, she makes the valid decision to not
die the same way. She recognizes that death is the end of her life and the pain of leaving her
family and friends does impact on this decision. Yet, when compared to the suffering she will
endure as her Parkinson s progresses, the pleasure derived from

Death Foretold
Set in a small Colombian coastal town, 1950 s, Chronicle of a Death Foretold is a fictional novel
organized into five chapters, 120 pages in all. Written in first person with an unnamed narrator, it
tells the story of Santiago Nasar and Angela Vicario, and the events leading up to Santiago s
unfortunate death. Gabriel GarcГa MГЎrquez, the author, includes a healthy amount of mystery
and satire to get the reader intrigued.
The unnamed narrator, a young man who grew up in the town where the killing occured, attempts
to piece together what really happened that day by gathering facts and information from the
residents in the town. Yet, as he gets farther and farther into this mystery, he learns that the truth
may be harder to find that he thought. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
As the pages are turned, the story becomes even more confusing, leaving the reader feeling
unresolved until the very last page.
As you read on, you may begin to notice that the men and woman in the town strongly adhere to
gender roles, making it seem as if it s exaggerated. That s because MГЎrquez is mocking the
culture of machismo, the sense of strong or aggressive masculine pride, which is widely known in
many Latin American communities.
Machismo was only one of the many things MГЎrquez mocked in this novel; He ridiculed men,
woman, and even church. Including phrases from Actually... I just didn t want to be blessed by a
man who cut off only the combs for soup and threw the rest in the garbage. (MГЎrquez, 43) to
...but when he awoke, he felt completely spattered with bird shit. (MГЎrquez, 3), it s obvious this
reading makes not only for a good mystery novel, but is also a great laugh.
No more than halfway into the story, we learn that Bayardo San Roman, a man with a slim waist
and golden eyes, arrives in town seeking a wife. He picks Angela Vicario, the youngest daughter of
a retired goldsmith, to be his bride. Although Angela did not want to marry Bayardo, they have a

Banning Open Carry And Concealed Carry
When citizens have the freedom to legally defend themselves, but are restricted by
unaccommodating gun laws, what defense possibilities do they have? With population based
restrictions on open carry and concealed carry, residents of California cannot possess firearms
unless the weapons are stored inside of their homes or in the trunk of their cars. Although
Californians can certainly defend themselves at home, self defense becomes much more
problematic when they leave their private residence as they cannot possess firearms with rare
exceptions. With that being said, how does the state of California reasonably expect its citizens to
defend themselves without the ability to possess firearms in a public setting? State laws prohibiting

Although the opponents of open carry are armed with rational concerns, they need not worry
about it in the state of California as open carry is prohibited there. California is also one of the
most restrictive states when it comes to gun control, yet according to the FBI s uniformed crime
report, California led the nation with 151,879 violent crimes (murder and non negligent
manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault) in 2013. In the state with the highest amount
of violent crime, self defense at home and in public is a necessity, but that necessity is
compromised by the prohibition of open carry. The belief that criminals can easily remove a firearm
from an individual exercising open carry is absurd considering modern holsters are now designed
with retention in mind. Logically, criminals would avoid attacking someone who is exercising
open carry due to the likelihood of being killed in an altercation or being forced to kill the
individual and face capital punishment. Although people exercising open carry can cause panic
from the community and police officers, the issue is generally resolved without complications and
programs to raise awareness on gun rights would improve relations. Raising public awareness
about open carry would benefit both open carry and the public due to an

and provide a great tool, which comes and works well with the Windows Server 2012 and that is
Hyper V. It is one of the few tools with the features and services that meet this proposal s
requirements. In order to meet WAI s requirement, Hyper V needs to be deployed on all the
servers in its entire network. For host processors and memory to work properly, Hyper V will

operate its new servers and continues on benefiting of new hardware equipment and technology
for its current and future virtualization. For reliability and security, I am planning on installing
Server Core on all the servers in the network. Throughout the entire proposal and plan, there will
be a total of ten servers installed in the WAI s internal network. Moreover, to manage its entire
network infrastructure (ground) work, I will mount and install Windows Server 2012 because it
will permit WAI to accomplish and manage its entire Windows network infrastructure as a single
server in its Boston location and four other servers

Misconceptions Of Drones
Drones

drones have experienced a massive spike in interest and have been upgraded constantly until they
became state of the art machines. Though drones are one of the most advanced pieces of
technology the world has ever seen, they should not be used by militaries because of the many
problems associated with them, such as limited pilots, innocent victims, and mid flight crashes.
Many people have misconceptions about drones, but they actually are remote controlled aircrafts
that have weapons on them and are used by the military for dangerous aerial attack and

At this stage, the information collected should be evaluated in order the likelihood of the risks to
be assessed, as well as the impact of these risks on the banks, the entire banking system and, on a
larger scale, the national economy. As a matter of fact, the likelihood and the impact of the risks are
determinants of the classification of the risks as low, medium or high. Having regard to four
elements customer, country, product and interface the risk profile can be determined. More
precisely, the risk concerning the customer is associated with the source of his incomer, his past
financial activities and transactions and the intended nature of the activities. Furthermore, the risk
emanating from the country of origin of the income or the country of the financial activities
involves these jurisdictions, in which there are significant deficiencies in detection of money
laundering and lack of cooperation for the prevention of money laundering. Concerning the product,
the risk involves the extent of attractiveness to money launders and openness provided to financial
criminals for concealing the illicit origin of their income. Regarding the element of interface, the
risk illustrates the manner in which the product is sold or acquired.
According to the former FSA, the completing of the risk profile is required several parameters to

Reform Movements in the United States Sought to Expand...
As Americans entered an era of transition and instability, they sought to expand democratic ideals
in the society. In response to sudden changes occurring and traditional values being challenged,
various reform movements during 1825 1850 began to focus on democratic ideals. The rise of
religious revivals, movements for equal rights and protecting liberties of different social groups,
want to advance society technologically, and desire to bring order and control helped reform the

The Transcendentalist movement, founded by Ralph Waldo Emerson was populated by his
essay Nature, as well as other works such as Henry David Thoreau s Nature. The increasing
quality and affordability of such books as well as newspapers, with new perspectives and
philosophies printed by new machines, allowed the common people access to new knowledge.
Society was now exposed to knowledge such as: philosophy, current events, and political
information which brought up the level of education of the common man. Not only were books
made cheaper and more available, an abundance of higher quality goods and services such as
better foods, clothes, and a better transportation system now became available to the society. As

is saying that the Progress of the Age has brought high quality goods previously only for aristocrats
down to the common people, raising the living standard of the common people: a true democratic
value. Out of all these technological breakthroughs, the railroad became the symbol of the Progress
of the Age and the expansion of democratic ideals. Even artists of the Hudson

The Effects Of Caffeine On Oxidative Stress
In the present study, the MDA level was measured as an index of lipid peroxidation in order to
observe the effect of caffeine on the oxidative stress induced by AlCl3 in cortex, hippocampus and
striatum brain areas. Brain tissues are more vulnerable to oxidative stress other than tissues for
many reasons such as high oxygen consumption (more than 20% of the total inspired oxygen), the
presence of abundant amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids which are susceptible to free radicals
attack, low antioxidant levels, high iron content in addition to the non regenerative nature of
neurons (Nehru and Anand, 2005; Kim et al., 2015). All these reasons may explain why brain is
more susceptible to aluminum toxicity than other organs. In the present... Show more content on

The present results showed that daily protection with caffeine attenuated the increase in MDA
levels in AlCl3 intoxicated rats. Supporting the present finding, previous studies have revealed the
antioxidant potential of caffeine against lipid peroxidation in various animal models of neurologic
diseases, including Alzheimer s disease (Prasanthi et al., 2010), epilepsy (Souza et al., 2013) and
Parkinson s disease (Khadrawy et al., 2017). It has been demonstrated that caffeine has the ability
to scavenge reactive oxygen species (Devasagayam et al., 1996) and modulated the brain
antioxidant system through increasing the content of GSH and activities of antioxidant enzymes
like glutathione reductase and superoxide dismutase (Abreu et al., 2011). Generally, the antioxidant
capacity of caffeine was similar to that of the established biological antioxidant GSH and
significantly higher than ascorbic acid (Devasagayam et al., 1996). Accordingly, this may explain
the ability of caffeine to attenuate lipid peroxidation induced by AlCl3 in the current study via
direct scavenging of reactive oxygen species or by increasing GSH content and antioxidant
enzymes activities.
The present data revealed that daily oral administration of AlCl3 resulted in a significant increase in
NO levels in the cortex, hippocampus and striatum. NO is the smallest signalling molecule within

Unity In Divergent

different. In Divergent Veronica Roth displays that the book is not just about bravery. It s about
being different and how being different can help you fit in.
Early in the story Tris was supposed to be selfless because her current faction was based on

Private Economic System
The economic system adopted in the United States is the private enterprise system. This system,
supports private individuals that recognize and serve the needs and demands of consumers. The
private enterprise system lessens government interference in the economy. Consequently, businesses
that satisfy and adapt to consumers needs are the ones who profit and succeed. This competition
between businesses gets rid of businesses that are not able to produce the best product at the best
price. This type of system is also known as capitalism. In Adam Smith s The wealth of Nations it is
indicated that capitalism is threatened by privileges extended to certain members of the economy at
the expense of others. Thus, it is pertinent to have the rights to private property, profits, freedom of

The Pillars Of Analytics Scale
to 4 on the Pillars of Analytics scale (Davenport Harris 36), Hero has some room for
improvement based on acceptance by the entire resource group. At this point, 20% of the Hero
team can dynamically use the analytics we currently offer. For example, 2015 was the first year
that we, as an operations and sales team, had a dynamic forecasting plan. We took the top
customers making up 80% of our annual revenue and projected out their volume by SKU, by
month and kept a rolling 12 months of inventory planning based on each customer s growth
objectives. Putting this plan together resulted in an out of stock liability improvement of 15%
and actual sales were within 1% of budget projections. This project, a huge jump in our planning
procedures, was completely facilitated by three people in our organization that employs over fifty
people. The issues above directly tie in to the second pillar of Enterprise Wide Analytics. Although

Character Sketch Of Draupadi
The above lines clearly elucidates the character of Draupadi as a fiery female, redefines the role
of women, issue of subjectivity can be witnessed and her psychological makeup is evident
clearly. It creates an admired feminine portrait which is both modern and timeless. Panchaali
wallows in anger and helplessness when Kunti come to a decision that all her five sons should
join in matrimony with Draupadi. She presumes that Arjun would stand up for her and speak up
for her that she is only married to him. But Draupadi is disillusioned by him for he abides by his
mother s wish and doesn t say anything. While Draupadi s father, brother and the Pandavas
examine about the practicality of Draupadi espousing five brothers, their focal point is family
honour and customs. Not even a single person gives eminence to Draupadi s desires. The depiction
of Draupadi as an angry woman in a man s world brings out the status of women in a patriarchal
society where women s wishes are not considered as important. She justifies this lifetime sentence
by remunerating that probably this was her punishment for treating Karna unfairly.... Show more

Cyrus Cylinder Compare And Contrast
The Cyrus Cylinder and Isaiah 44:24 45:7 show very similar plots but when looking at the details
of the story the differences are easily spotted. The main characters for instance show very different
traits about them, one is very powerful and compassionate while the other is
Omnipotent and Omniscient. The way they conquer their rightful cities are pretty different as
well, in one story for instance they are backed up by an army and in the other they just don t need
one. Also, who the glory goes to, to me at least, seems like the biggest difference of these two
stories. One more difference is the relationship between the two main characters in each of these
stories. They both although, similarly use Cyrus as an important character in their ... Show more

The Cyrus Cylinder shows the main character Marduk as compassionate and having good intentions
but also able to make mistakes, some human characteristics show in him in that sense. Marduk is
noticeably not the most powerful of the gods either. The other star of the story shows characteristics
like pride, confidence, and selfishness. On the other hand in Isaiah,
44:24 45:7, God is perfect and is all powerful, he says There is no God but Me (Isaiah 45:5).
God says Who says to the depths of the sea, Be dry, and I will dry up your rivers; who says to
Cyrus My shepherd, he will fulfill all My pleasure and says to Jerusalem, She will be rebuilt,
(Isaiah 44:27 28). Cyrus although is barely mentioned at all, a single time in Isaiah
44:28.
Cyrus and Marduk take over Babylon seemingly different than God and Cyrus does.
Cyrus and Marduk come into Babylon with a whole army of Guti people behind them. The Cyrus
Cylinder also says that they got into Babylon without any fighting or battle. God does not even
mention any army, He uses Isaiah 44:24 45:7 to show His great power, to point out that God is

The Influence Of Reality TV On American Culture
How has reality TV affected the way people view other forms of entertainment? A very popular
network called VH1, is one of the various networks that have transformed the true meaning of
entertainment by its presentations of reality shows.VH1 has contributed in the decline of music
perceptions by switching from music to a strictly reality TV basis. Reality TV is the lowest form
of entertainment; it idolizes ignorance, depicts peoples misfortune, and encourages stereotypes. The
reputation of televised music has been damaged by VH1 s newfound reality TV show fame. VH1

Christian Ethics Research Paper
Everyone in the world has some sort of ethics on how to live. It is a way to examine what is
good and right and an explanation of how people think and act. Everyone also has moral
absolutism, which acts as a moral compass for right and wrong. There are numerous types of
ethics but one main one I abide by are the Ten Commandments. This includes commands such as:
no other gods before Him, do not steal, murder, commit adultery, do not misuse the name of God,
and keep the sabbath holy. Each one has a reason I value and believe is important to keep. For
example, the first commandment is no other gods before Him , this is important for me to keep
because, as a Christian, I must regard God as the most important thing in my life. Sometimes this...

Many worldviews have multiple opinions of psychology, but no one knows this better than
Christians. Scientists have confirmed that humans do have a spirit, but do not declare whether it
is needed for living. If one has a biblical worldview then one has a view on Christian psychology.
Christian recognize the metaphysical world and there are multiple verses in the Bible agreeing
with this view point, an example would be in John 4:24, God is spirit, and those who worship him
must worship in spirit and truth. The Bible states that man is more than just human, but also
contains a spirit. A well respected neuro physiologist, Sir John Eccles, believes mind and body
dualism explains the occurrence of hyper awareness and ultimately mind and body dualism. Paul
Weiss states , Even though I know I am constantly changing, all molecules are changing, everything
in me is being turned over substantially, there is nevertheless my identity, my consciousness of
being essentially the same that I was 20 years ago. However much I may have changed, the
continuity of my identity has remained undisrupted. Due to the constant changing, no one would
be able to have an identity if they have did not have a soul or in fact, something spiritual inside of
them. When Christians accept Christ as his savior he is not only declaring with his mouth but his
spirit as well. In Ephesians 6:11 17 it

The State Of Michigan Is A Word Formed By The Ojibwa Tribe
Water Essay:
The state of Michigan is also called mishigamaa which was a word formed by the Ojibwa tribe.
Mishigamaa means large water or large lake. This state is known for its large and beautiful
bodies of water. In my experiences, I have noticed that Michigan has extremely fresh and clean,
large bodies of water in comparison to other Midwest states. Michigan involves two peninsulas,
the Upper and Lower Peninsula. They are separated by the Straits of Mackinac and a few nearby
islands. The Straits of Mackinac connects two of the Great Lakes; Lake Michigan and Lake Huron.
They are connected by the Mackinac Bridge. Michigan covers 58,110 square miles of land, 38,575
spare miles of the Great Lakes and 1,305 square miles of inland waters (2015 pg.1).
The water cycle represents how water is exchanged and cycled through Earth s land, oceans, and
atmosphere (2010 pg.1). Evaporation, condensation, and precipitation are all three main factors
within the water cycle. Evaporation occurs when a liquids surface changes to gas. For example,
when water from rivers, oceans or lakes evaporate, it becomes water vapor. Condensation occurs
when gas changes to a liquid. For example, clouds form when water vapor condescends.
Precipitation is described as any liquid or solid water that falls to earth from above. A great and
simple example would be rain, snow or hail (2010 pg.1). Within the water cycle, there are three
states of water: solid, liquid and gas. Most of Earth s freshwater is

Benjamin in his article confirms that this is a recurring event in sub Saharan Africa by saying
that many suspects have been arrested for murdering albinos, [but] so far the persons who
commissioned the killings (or offered huge sums for human body parts) have not been arrested

perpetrators because this belief in witchcraft is so extensive (1). Members of the United Nations
even acknowledge that with elections coming up that people with Albinism should be careful due
to politicians seeking out Albino body parts for luck in their election (qtd. In Bever 1). The
corruption in sub Saharan Africa is so widespread that in a United Nations report over crime and

Magical Realism in The Garden of Forking Paths Essay
Magical Realism in The Garden of Forking Paths
While there may be some debate as to whether the Argentinian Jorge Luis Borges was technically a
Magical Realist, some may feel that his works definitely do have some of the characteristics of
what is considered Magical Realistic literature. Among his various types of works are poetry,
essays, fantasies, and short fictions. Often referred to in essays that discuss the history and theory
of Magical Realism, The Garden of Forking Paths is probably Borges most popular short story.
Published in 1964 in a collection of Borges works entitled Labyrinths: Selected Stories Other

who also tried to construct a labyrinth in which all men would get lost. During his journey, Yu
Tsun begins to ponder over his grandfather s lost labyrinth. Then, he says, I forgot my destiny of
one pursued. I felt myself to be, for an unknown period of time, and abstract perceiver of the
world . . . The road descended and forked among the now confused meadows (Borges 23). As a
result of thinking about the maze, Yu Tsun finds himself trapped in a garden maze at Dr. Albert s
house (Wiehe 980). Of course, being caught in what is seemingly an imaginary maze introduces a
magical element into the story.
Being caught in an imaginary maze serves the purpose of giving the reader a different
perspective on real life. The imaginary maze represents the numerous paths that one can travel
and all of the possible outcomes from these paths. While in real life a person can really only go
down one path, the imagination can venture down all possible paths. Two ways in which this is
illustrated in The Garden of Forking Paths are by the meaning of Yu Tsun s grandfather s novel and
by the plot of The Garden of Forking Paths. When explaining the meaning of the novel by Ts ui Pen,
Yu Tsun s grandfather, Stephen Albert states:
In the work of Ts ui Pen, all possible outcomes occur; each one is the point of departure for other

aspect to HEMS. Emergency medical helicopters have an alarming history of crashes. The National
Transportation Safety Board conducted a study to determine the major causes of helicopter crashes.
Important areas of flight risk are the pilots, the mechanics of the aircraft, crew training,
maintenance, weather conditions, time of day, and landing sites. The study showed that poor
weather conditions posed the greatest risk for helicopter crashes. Since, the study many
improvements have been made to improve the crash rate. It has been said that the sole decision is
set on the pilot as to whether it is safe enough to take the flight or not. The pilot must consider the
weather conditions, aircraft maintainence, and crew readiness. Medical personnel cannot make the
decision to take the call. Medical personnel should not tell the pilot the nature of the call, because

Active Listening Can Be Described In Brief As Listening
Active listening can be described in brief as listening to a person carefully and with an open
mind, which endeavors to fetch a grasp of the other on a greatly profound level. Guidelines for
active listening is to give people your attention, be ready to paraphrase, use questions if you don t
understand, acknowledge the others person feelings, encourage if the other person appears
uncertain, do not react or respond in other ways until it is clear that the other person has finished.

Clarification includes questions that seek to clear uncertainties and fetch more understanding of the
other person s intentions and fears. Misunderstood or inadequate information is the main barrier to
understanding; that s why clarification is important. After that, you should recognize the other
person s feelings. This is called digging. It concentrates on the feelings of a person without making
them the clear focus of the argument. Observing emotional reactions adds a further aspect to the
understanding of a person s situation. It is mainly helpful when there seems to be an
inconsistency between the content of a message and the person s feelings as it permits us to
discover the speaker s actual approach toward a subject. Subsequently, you should see if the other
person seems to be doubtful or uncertain. You should acknowledge the feelings that a person is
experiencing as it is an influential evidence of our awareness and serious attempt to understand his
situation. (The role of Active listening in conflict resolution, 2012). [3] Once more, it s essential

Comparing Schoolsville, By Billy Collins And Carol Ann Duffy
Poets Billy Collins and Carol Ann Duffy educate the public on the student teacher relationship. In
Billy Collins Schoolsville the poem is written from the point of view of a teacher, whereas Carol
Ann Duffy s teacher is written in a student s point of view. The two poets have completely different
ideas of what the schoolatmosphere is like. For Bill Collins he believes that the teacher holds the
role of a mayor and the students are citizens who all belong to different social classes. As for Carol
Ann Duffy, she believes that students warship teachers because the teacher is the reason for a
students knowledge. Although the poets do share different opinions they both use poetic devices to
develop their phones.
Therefore the poetic devices used are the only common ground the poets have. In schools Billy
Collins presents the idea that the students are categorized by their grades. For example the a

Essay On Satyam Scandal
RECOMMENDATION
The 2009 Satyam scandal in India has highlighted the shameful potential of an improperly

scandal to further avoid such mishaps. First, all inaccuracies are to be investigated as a lot of fraud
schemes initially start out small, with the thought that small changes here and there would not
make a big difference, and is less likely to be detected. The fraud scheme at Satyam started very
small that eventually grew into $276 million. Second, Corporate Governance needs to be Stronger

Browned and lightly charred on the outside, juicy and tender on the inside, a perfectly grilled
steak has the power to make grown men cry. But on the contrary a dry, overcooked steak can

The Longissimus dorsi are a pair of long, tender muscles that run down either side of the spine of

To tell how well the steak is, a meat thermometer will need to be used to check the temperature
of the steak. The doneness of the steak goes from rare to well done. To tell how done the steak
is, stick the meat thermometer into the meat, a steak that is rare will be at 130 degrees while a
well done steak will get to 165 degrees before removing from the grill ( How to Grill ). One of
the most important steps is letting the steak rest. If the steak is cut right after coming off the grill
it will become dry because all the juices inside the steak will leak out. After the steak has rested
for about five to ten minutes, the steak can be cut and combined with more seasoning if desired to

The Itrust Database
When further analyzing the iTrust database, there was an issue of the lack of credit card
information not being encrypted. The lack of credit cart encryption does not only lead to a major
concern for the company, but also for the client. The risk of exposed PII invalidates any
confidentiality for the company due to the threat posed to client credit card information. Because
health care provider is a credit card merchant since they accept, transmit, or store credit card data,
they must adhere to the Payment Card Industry SecurityStandards Council (PCI SSC) to protect the

essential security strategy for monitoring a network information system for abnormal or

Convergence and International Corporate Governance
Find and summarise (in no more than 1000 words) some of the work that has been done by
Katherine Pistor and others on Convergence, Divergence and В‘Path Dependency of legal systems
as it relates to International Corporate Governance. In recent years the issue of corporate
governance has become a keenly debated topic in international finance. In developed countries,
some of the biggest corporate collapses in history have brought about a change in focus. No longer
are governments and lawmakers trying to deregulate and reduce the controls and disclosure
requirements of corporations. The deregulation boom has ended, as regulation comes back into the
picture. After the Latin American Crisis of 1995 and the Asian Currency crisis of... Show more

Thus the rules which have helped these corporations to prosper will be perpetuated. This in turn
makes the interest group stronger and allows for continued divergence. Bebchuk and Roe accept
that there are other reasons for the huge differences between countries legal systems. The size of
the economy and the nature of business therein must play a part in the types of governance
systems created. Cultural differences must also affect the laws, at a more fundamental level.
Conclusion In 2000 Katarina Pistor wrote a paper which examined convergence/divergence issue
in transition economies. She concluded that a simple convergence story does not do justice to the
complexity of legal change (Pistor 2000, pp. 27). On of the key issues raised in this paper was
that legal convergence in transition economies is mainly because of an external supply of legal
solutions, and not as a result of the adaptation of successful strategies. Another point was that in
many countries, it appeared that systems were developed in response to problems and not with a
long term goal in mind. In general, it is clear that neither the convergence or divergence models, tell
us the whole story. Whilst some level of convergence has been observed, the persistence of
divergence is undeniable. The importance of path dependency in determining the corporate

Essay On The Lost Colony Of Roanoke
The lost colony of Roanoke is a controversial topic because no one is sure about what happened
to the colony. The lost colony was a colony founded by Walter Raleigh established in 1585 on
Roanoke Island which is now North Carolina. The colony disappeared without a trace sometime
between 1587 and 1590. There are many theories about what happened to the colony but there is
no conclusive answer. The lost colony of Roanoke is one of the biggest and oldest American
mysteries because of the uncertainty surrounding the circumstances of its disappearance. On the
25th of March, 1584 a charter was issued to Walter Raleighfrom Queen Elizabeth I. The charter
issued stated that Raleigh was to discover, search, finde out, and view such remote, heathen and
barbarous lands, countries, and territories, not actually possessed of any Christian Prince, nor

It drew the attention of David Phelps who was a professor from East Carolina university. He
then conducted digs in the area and found a gold ring and gun lock, which he believed to be
solid evidence that the settlers integrated with the natives (Hampton). The gold ring was
examined and determined by researchers John Brooke Little and Barbara Hird to have the crest
of the Kendall family on it. There were two men that had the surname Kendall that were apart of
the attempts at colonizing Roanoke. One, however, was picked up by Sir Francis Drake (Family
Crest on Sixteenth Century Gold Ring Tentatively Identified). Though this was never confirmed
and the artifact was found with other artifacts dating around 1670 1720. However Phelps never
tested the ring. And in April 2017, it was announced by Charles Ewen, who tested the ring, found
that it was all brass and not gold. Ewen said it s probably a common item that was traded to the
Natives after lost colony disappeared (Lawler). This was yet another dead end in the quest to

The Atomic Bomb On The World War II
In August of 1945, President Truman made an important decision to drop two atomic bombs
days apart in the Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. I completely agree with President
Truman s decision to drop the atomic bomb on the two Japanese cities because I believe it is the
main reason that ended World War II. Being from Malaysia, my grandparents often told me
stories of their sufferings during World War II. As Singapore s former Prime Minister
concurred, the Japanese soldiers were mean, brutal and vicious towards the civilians, and if the
atomic bombs were not dropped to end the war, hundreds of thousands of civilians would have
been perished. Another reason I support the use of atomic bombs to end the war is because
World War II has the most war related deaths in history of mankind, if the war were to continue,
more people would have died and Japan will rise and hold the most power in the world. Many
minority Asian countries that were invaded would lose their culture, language and citizens, and
hence the world might be different today. The droppings of these two bombs are arguably the most
pivotal moment for Japan to end the war. First, Pearl Harbor was destroyed by a surprise Japanese
attack in December 7, 1941. With such an important event in modern American History, President
Truman has always thought of retaliating to Japan. President Truman s thought of using the atomic
bombs was to end the war as soon as possible, so that the U.S. and the Allied countries

Building A Bridge Over A River Gorge
Chapter 12 Discussion Questions Q.1 Consider a project to build a bridge over a river gorge. What
are some of the resource constraints that would make this project challenging? Ans: Resource
constraints would include money/budget constraints, specialized equipment, large material
requirements, and personnel constraints revolving around contractors, and highly skilled
construction crew. A bridge is subject to many potential risks related to environment, technology
and physical construction. All put the project in jeopardy of overextending its budget which can
make monetary budgets and necessary reserves a central resource constraint. Due to the specialized
equipment and personnel required, scheduling these resources to arrive at appropriate times is
important. Equipment rentals and labor can be expensive, so it is important to schedule these
resources so that they arrive just in time for use, however this can be difficult to accurately predict.
It is also unlikely that the same personnel will be required throughout the project. One construction
team may be needed for pouring foundations, while another is hired to pave the driving surface.
Again, identifying, sequencing and scheduling these resources is vital to the project s on time
completion. Q.2 For many projects, the key resources to be managed are the project team
personnel. Explain in what sense and how project team personnel are often the project critical
resource. Ans: Project teams are created to

Mid-Life Crisis Narrative
I watched another man having a mid life crisis, pull out of the Novak car dealership across the
street in a silver convertible. My uncle ran that dealership. I scanned my dad s car lot; the cars
were much older with red numbers written on the windshields, and they were Hondas rather than
BMWs. Dad was having an intense phone call in the dimly lit back office. From where I sat at the
desk, I could hear snippets of the conversation that filtered through the gap through the door.
How long... here? Dad said.
I had no homework, so I swiveled around on my chair, and watched my dad bite his nails as he
talked.
No ... get the money... just... Dad caught my eye, and gave me a look that made me turn around

disorder creates social issues due to the impulsivity and over activity that a child may have. This
ADHD disorder causes children to be socially disturbing and immature. When being judged

Child Development Explanations And Understanding
Child development explanations and understanding is a complicated process and it is hard
deciding the right process to use with each child. Many individuals and doctors have their own
way of thinking how the body and mind develops. Their ideas have no right or wrong answers
and are mere guesses of human growth. No one idea can be applied directly to a person, without
looking at another idea also. To prove these explanations of psychology, scientific methods are
used. Teachers may use all patterns of ideas in their lesson planning for children.
Teachers choose what ideas to apply in the classroom by what is best proven, and what is in the
best interest of the child. They must also look at what has been effective in their teaching in the
past. If the idea does not work, then it should be removed from the class, replaced or changed.
Each idea has their strong points as well as their weak ones. To avoid the extreme differences in
psychology opinions of the ideas you must use the common methods offered. It is hard for
teachers to apply one idea to different children, this is due to the fact that none of use grow up the
exact same way. For children to have the chance of becoming who and what they want, we must
not put all of them in the same box, this is to keep choice free in life. To summarize it definitely
helps when you understand the great philosophers and their processes.
Theorist Jean Piaget, believed that individuals add and change their points of view of

Sex Selection Reinforces Oppression Of Women
Abortion in China is a very big issue but unfortunately is mostly executed when the sex of the
child is female. Sex selection in China is fostered by a limiting social structure that disallows
women from performing the roles that men perform, and relegates women to a lower status level.
Individual parents and individual families benefit concretely from having a son born into the
family, while society, and girls and women as a group, are harmed by the widespread practice of
sex selection. Sex selection reinforces oppression of women. Sex selection is best addressed by
ameliorating the situations of women and girls, increasing their autonomy, and elevating their
status in society. One might argue that restricting abortion, prohibiting sex selection, and prohibiting
sex determination would eliminate sex selective abortion.... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

Such practices will turn underground. Sex selective infanticide, and slower death by long term
neglect, could increase. If abortion is restricted, the burden is placed on women seeking abortions
to show that they have a legally acceptable or legitimate reason for a desired abortion, and this
seriously limits women s autonomy. Instead of restricting abortion, banning sex selection, and sex
determination, it is better to address the practice of sex selection by elevating the status of women
and empowering women so that giving birth to a girl is a real and positive option, instead of a
detriment to the parents and family as it is currently. But, if a ban on sex selective abortion or a ban
on sex determination is indeed instituted, then wider social change promoting women s status in
society should be instituted

Disneyland and its Offerings
This is the place where every kid begs to go. This is the place where adults enjoy going also. It s
the place where dreams come true , Disneyland. Located in Anaheim, California, this popular
amusement park is known all over the world for its entertainment, park rides, Disney characters,
and so much more. Here, children laugh and play while adults enjoy tours or spend the day at the
spa. Either way, both parties will experience the time of their lives. There is so much scenery for
the eyes to enjoy here. From the bright lights, to the extravagant decorations, and to the tall castle
buildings; its elaborate factors cease to exist. This is what sets Disneyland apart from its fellow
amusement parks. The park continues to grow with new things each year. There are so many
awesome things that Disneyland rewards us with.
This tourist attraction was founded by Walt Disney in 1955 (Disneyland Amusement Park). When
this amusement park was first created it wasn t like other amusement parks at the time. Unlike
traditional parks, Walt Disney had a vision of not just having rides but making it a place where
Disneyland is known for its entertainment also. Walt Disney was a cartoon genius (Disneyland
Amusement Park). A lot of his works, most popular being Mickey Mouse, were brought into the
theme of the park. Bringing cartoons like Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs to the amusement
park brought in joy. While walking through the park one may encounter costumes of, Tinker Bell
and other Disney characters. For children and adults, seeing these cartoon characters depicted in
real life, reminds one of happier times. This stood as a trademark for Disneyland. An atmosphere
of optimism, patriotism, and fun are three of the many goals Walt Disney set to achieve
(Disneyland s History). With this in mind things needed to be fixed and changes needed to be
made. When the parked opened up in 1955, there were many speculations that the heavy investment
Disney put in to the park would not be beneficial in return (Disneyland Amusement Park). Walt
Disney spent a lot of money on his vision. Disney projected that he would need eleven

  • 4. Aristotle s Rhetoric And The Three Different Formations... Rorty (1996) states, The proper aim of the rhetoric is that of finding the best available means of persuasion, whatever the subject me be (1355a4 ff., 1355b26 ff.) (p. 1). This is exactly what Aristotle does through the use of the rhetoric and the three different formations of the theory he created. Aristotle was very adamant on the use of rhetoricwhen addressing an audience. Rorty (1996) claims that Aristotle chides the authors of earlier handbooks on rhetoric for concentrating primarily on techniques for swaying the emotions of judges and legislators, instead of first and primarily considering the best modes of persuasion(p. 2). The use of persuasion was deemed more important to Aristotle than trying to change ones emotions instead. Also stated The best orator does not manipulate beliefs in order to make the worse appear to be the better course, but rather presents the best case in a way that is comprehensible and moving to each type of character (1113a3o ff.) (Rorty, 1996, p. 2). The speaker should not take the audience as a whole and degrade the topic they are speaking about to try to change the perspective of the people in the audience. Aristotle would rather the speaker make the most intellectual argument available to try and change the opinions of each individual. A study was done using the rhetoric in advertisement today. The study was done to investigate how rhetoric values can be found within a few controversial ad settings. This jest of this study is to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 6. We Can Use Mass Media And Social Media My classmates and friends helped shape my political opinions by being a source of information for me. Hearing news from my peers and then hearing their opinions on this news kind of persuaded my beliefs because I would feel that I need to fit in and to do so I would have to conform to the beliefs of others. In the early years of my life I did not have much of an opinion and I didn t believe that my beliefs mattered. I remember hearing a lot about how my vote doesn t matter, and how I am just a single fish in an entire sea. This meant to me that my voice would not be heard. Now I know that this isn t true, and if any American wants to be heard, there are numerous methods of speaking. We can use mass media, social media, we can write to our legislators, and we can even express our first amendment rights. The process of political socialization occurs from as young as we can remember and continues through to adulthood. All throughout my youth I would listen, while others would talk about how something was not going their way, and therefore, blame the government for this. Even in school, teachers would refer to how a certain political figure, or legislative action would condemn them to lesser pay than they deserve. To balance these actions teachers, form unions and can express their first amendment right and peacefully assemble to protest their wages. I ve seen it over the entire course of my education. There are many instances where I witnessed individuals assemble for or ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

There are two students inarticulate who she thinks have real unaddressed medical issues. These students are constantly a disruption to her class. During my visit the teachers were celebrating Halloween with their classrooms. The teacher next door provided her students with Oreos for snack. One of the boys shoved both of his Oreos in his mouth and began screaming and crying that he was still hungry. • 8. Battle Of Midway During World War II Battle of Midway The Battle of Midway was a very important battle in the Second World War because it basically shaped out the war for the Allied Powers, as well as for the Axis Powers. This battle also happens to be one of the most important naval battle of the time. The Battle of Midway was a very important battle in the Pacific Ocean during World War II. The battle was between The United States of America and the Empire of Japan. This would be the second battle that would feature of the United States in World War II, as it took place 6 months after the Japanese attacked the U.S. naval base Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Major advancements in technology would be seen for the first time in this battle, which would prove to be crucial. Today, the battle is recognized as a big contribution for the Allied Power s victory in World War II. On December 7, 1941, Japanese fighter pilots attacked the U.S. naval base of Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. Just over 2,000 men lost their lives during the attack. Just a few days later, the United States declared war on Japan. Five months after the attacks in May 1942, The Battle of the Coral Sea took place, which featured a victory for the Japanese. This battle happened to bo the first action in which aircraft carriers engaged each other. Though the battle ended in a victory for the Japanese, it turned out to be a strategic victory for the Allies. • 9. Police Officers And Law Enforcement Despite some police officers might use authority to frighten and approach others in any way they like, there is still a great amount of officers that do live up to the standard to serve and protect others. Police officers are often needed to reinstate order and regain the compliance from very hostile situations. Policeofficers are sometimes required to use force that is not considered excessive or the possibility of being accused or seen as brutality. We can see that the media focuses greatly on these issues of appropriate extents of force and deadly force that is used by law enforcement. Society has always been observing law enforcement through the lens of a microscope and focusing on the negative light that has been shedding over ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The relationship with the community, groups with special interests, and also politics may play a great portion in the configuration of these changes. Several centuries ago, common law was divided into three special classifications: felony, treason, and misdemeanor. In those times felonies were punishable by death. During the seventeenth century, when a police officer was conducting an arrest, they were regulated to exercising deadly force as a last resort (Littlejohn, 1984). During the nineteenth century, the same rule was still being enforced. The last resort rule began to diminish towards the end of the nineteenth century. Currently police officers have other tools available that allows them to resort to under different circumstances. Even though there are many different police departments and different agencies, they are all pretty much guided under the same rules regarding deadly force and it s use. Annually, data concerning law enforcement is collected in a Uniform Crime Report, but it does not gather information on recent acts a police officer can do (Burghart, 2014). Limited intelligence is exposed about police violence. There are many real life situations that we have observed on the news and in the media. The law demands that the federal government must accumulate data on police shootings, but there is no obligation that a police department has to do so (Fisher, 2014). The ... • 10. Suicide and the Harm Principle The Right to Suicide and Harm Suicide under circumstances of extreme suffering is the morally right action as opposed to the alternative, living in pain. J.S. Mill s Utilitarian ideals provide strong reasoning to support suicide in instances of severe pain, while Kant s moral theory of the categorical imperative provides reasoning against taking one s own life. Mill s principle of utility is the maximization of pleasure and the reduction of pain. Mill regards happiness as the greatest good in life and all actions should be performed as long as they have the tendency to produce pleasure. Mill also introduces the Harm Principle. The Harm Principle is used to determine whether coercion is justifiable based on the impact of individual ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Mill would invoke the Harm Principle. The act of committing suicide would be a self regarding act. As the harm is directly imposed on herself, all other consequences of her action are considered indirect as they occur through Jane s self regarding act. Hence, Jane should suffer no moral or legal sanctions for committing suicide. Furthermore, she has evaluated her options and upon deep consideration, decided that the pain of living with her condition outweighs the pleasure of living with her condition. A utility calculation can be formalized to further justify her decision on utilitarian grounds. (Utilitarianism) For Jane: 1. Tendency to cause pleasure: 100 units 2. Tendency to cause pain: 50 units For the aggregate of the other people affected: 3. Tendency to cause pleasure: 10 units 4. Tendency to cause pain: 20 units Hence: Pleasure: 110 units, Pain: 70 units. Perform the action. For Jane, dying would be the ultimate pleasure as it is the end of her suffering. She views suicide as the mean to her ultimate end: happiness. For Jane, the pain of dying is less than the pain of living. After seeing her mother die from Parkinson s disease, she makes the valid decision to not die the same way. She recognizes that death is the end of her life and the pain of leaving her family and friends does impact on this decision. Yet, when compared to the suffering she will endure as her Parkinson s progresses, the pleasure derived from ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 11. Death Foretold Set in a small Colombian coastal town, 1950 s, Chronicle of a Death Foretold is a fictional novel organized into five chapters, 120 pages in all. Written in first person with an unnamed narrator, it tells the story of Santiago Nasar and Angela Vicario, and the events leading up to Santiago s unfortunate death. Gabriel GarcГa MГЎrquez, the author, includes a healthy amount of mystery and satire to get the reader intrigued. The unnamed narrator, a young man who grew up in the town where the killing occured, attempts to piece together what really happened that day by gathering facts and information from the residents in the town. Yet, as he gets farther and farther into this mystery, he learns that the truth may be harder to find that he thought. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... As the pages are turned, the story becomes even more confusing, leaving the reader feeling unresolved until the very last page. As you read on, you may begin to notice that the men and woman in the town strongly adhere to gender roles, making it seem as if it s exaggerated. That s because MГЎrquez is mocking the culture of machismo, the sense of strong or aggressive masculine pride, which is widely known in many Latin American communities. Machismo was only one of the many things MГЎrquez mocked in this novel; He ridiculed men, woman, and even church. Including phrases from Actually... No more than halfway into the story, we learn that Bayardo San Roman, a man with a slim waist and golden eyes, arrives in town seeking a wife. He picks Angela Vicario, the youngest daughter of a retired goldsmith, to be his bride. • 12. Banning Open Carry And Concealed Carry When citizens have the freedom to legally defend themselves, but are restricted by unaccommodating gun laws, what defense possibilities do they have? With population based restrictions on open carry and concealed carry, residents of California cannot possess firearms unless the weapons are stored inside of their homes or in the trunk of their cars. Although Californians can certainly defend themselves at home, self defense becomes much more problematic when they leave their private residence as they cannot possess firearms with rare exceptions. With that being said, how does the state of California reasonably expect its citizens to defend themselves without the ability to possess firearms in a public setting? State laws prohibiting open... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Although the opponents of open carry are armed with rational concerns, they need not worry about it in the state of California as open carry is prohibited there. California is also one of the most restrictive states when it comes to gun control, yet according to the FBI s uniformed crime report, California led the nation with 151,879 violent crimes (murder and non negligent manslaughter, rape, robbery, and aggravated assault) in 2013. In the state with the highest amount of violent crime, self defense at home and in public is a necessity, but that necessity is compromised by the prohibition of open carry. The belief that criminals can easily remove a firearm from an individual exercising open carry is absurd considering modern holsters are now designed with retention in mind. Logically, criminals would avoid attacking someone who is exercising open carry due to the likelihood of being killed in an altercation or being forced to kill the individual and face capital punishment. Although people exercising open carry can cause panic from the community and police officers, the issue is generally resolved without complications and programs to raise awareness on gun rights would improve relations. Raising public awareness about open carry would benefit both open carry and the public due to an ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Effects Of Caffeine On Oxidative Stress In the present study, the MDA level was measured as an index of lipid peroxidation in order to observe the effect of caffeine on the oxidative stress induced by AlCl3 in cortex, hippocampus and striatum brain areas. Brain tissues are more vulnerable to oxidative stress other than tissues for many reasons such as high oxygen consumption (more than 20% of the total inspired oxygen), the presence of abundant amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids which are susceptible to free radicals attack, low antioxidant levels, high iron content in addition to the non regenerative nature of neurons (Nehru and Anand, 2005; Kim et al., 2015). The present results showed that daily protection with caffeine attenuated the increase in MDA levels in AlCl3 intoxicated rats. Supporting the present finding, previous studies have revealed the antioxidant potential of caffeine against lipid peroxidation in various animal models of neurologic diseases, including Alzheimer s disease (Prasanthi et al., 2010), epilepsy (Souza et al., 2013) and Parkinson s disease (Khadrawy et al., 2017). It has been demonstrated that caffeine has the ability to scavenge reactive oxygen species (Devasagayam et al., 1996) and modulated the brain antioxidant system through increasing the content of GSH and activities of antioxidant enzymes like glutathione reductase and superoxide dismutase (Abreu et al., 2011). Generally, the antioxidant capacity of caffeine was similar to that of the established biological antioxidant GSH and significantly higher than ascorbic acid (Devasagayam et al., 1996). Accordingly, this may explain the ability of caffeine to attenuate lipid peroxidation induced by AlCl3 in the current study via direct scavenging of reactive oxygen species or by increasing GSH content and antioxidant enzymes activities. Each crew member must undergo many education courses as well as hands on training before being employed by HEMS. Safety is the most important aspect to HEMS. Emergency medical helicopters have an alarming history of crashes. The National Transportation Safety Board conducted a study to determine the major causes of helicopter crashes. Important areas of flight risk are the pilots, the mechanics of the aircraft, crew training, maintenance, weather conditions, time of day, and landing sites. The study showed that poor weather conditions posed the greatest risk for helicopter crashes. Since, the study many improvements have been made to improve the crash rate. It has been said that the sole decision is set on the pilot as to whether it is safe enough to take the flight or not. The pilot must consider the weather conditions, aircraft maintainence, and crew readiness. Medical personnel cannot make the decision to take the call. Medical personnel should not tell the pilot the nature of the call, because this may deter the pilot s judgment. Currently the Federal Aviation Administration is looking ... Bebchuk and Roe accept that there are other reasons for the huge differences between countries legal systems. Conclusion In 2000 Katarina Pistor wrote a paper which examined convergence/divergence issue in transition economies. She concluded that a simple convergence story does not do justice to the complexity of legal change (Pistor 2000, pp. 27). On of the key issues raised in this paper was that legal convergence in transition economies is mainly because of an external supply of legal solutions, and not as a result of the adaptation of successful strategies. Another point was that in many countries, it appeared that systems were developed in response to problems and not with a long term goal in mind. In general, it is clear that neither the convergence or divergence models, tell us the whole story. Whilst some level of convergence has been observed, the persistence of divergence is undeniable. I completely agree with President Truman s decision to drop the atomic bomb on the two Japanese cities because I believe it is the main reason that ended World War II. Being from Malaysia, my grandparents often told me stories of their sufferings during World War II. As Singapore s former Prime Minister concurred, the Japanese soldiers were mean, brutal and vicious towards the civilians, and if the atomic bombs were not dropped to end the war, hundreds of thousands of civilians would have been perished. Another reason I support the use of atomic bombs to end the war is because World War II has the most war related deaths in history of mankind, if the war were to continue, more people would have died and Japan will rise and hold the most power in the world. Many minority Asian countries that were invaded would lose their culture, language and citizens, and hence the world might be different today. The droppings of these two bombs are arguably the most pivotal moment for Japan to end the war. First, Pearl Harbor was destroyed by a surprise Japanese attack in December 7, 1941. What are some of the resource constraints that would make this project challenging? Ans: Resource constraints would include money/budget constraints, specialized equipment, large material requirements, and personnel constraints revolving around contractors, and highly skilled construction crew. A bridge is subject to many potential risks related to environment, technology and physical construction. All put the project in jeopardy of overextending its budget which can make monetary budgets and necessary reserves a central resource constraint. Due to the specialized equipment and personnel required, scheduling these resources to arrive at appropriate times is important. Equipment rentals and labor can be expensive, so it is important to schedule these resources so that they arrive just in time for use, however this can be difficult to accurately predict. It is also unlikely that the same personnel will be required throughout the project. One construction team may be needed for pouring foundations, while another is hired to pave the driving surface. • 50. Child Development Explanations And Understanding Child development explanations and understanding is a complicated process and it is hard deciding the right process to use with each child. Many individuals and doctors have their own way of thinking how the body and mind develops. Their ideas have no right or wrong answers and are mere guesses of human growth. No one idea can be applied directly to a person, without looking at another idea also. To prove these explanations of psychology, scientific methods are used. Teachers may use all patterns of ideas in their lesson planning for children. Teachers choose what ideas to apply in the classroom by what is best proven, and what is in the best interest of the child. They must also look at what has been effective in their teaching in the past. If the idea does not work, then it should be removed from the class, replaced or changed. Each idea has their strong points as well as their weak ones. To avoid the extreme differences in psychology opinions of the ideas you must use the common methods offered. It is hard for teachers to apply one idea to different children, this is due to the fact that none of use grow up the exact same way. For children to have the chance of becoming who and what they want, we must not put all of them in the same box, this is to keep choice free in life.
