Fry In The Bay Monologue Analysis
Bravery in the Bay
By Grace Colombo
PROLOGUE
Suzy McHullivan was a cheerful young girl with braids as long as the sun s rays. She gracefully strolled
around in a beautiful, fluffy, and pale blue dress. Lucky for her, she was friends with Johnny Hudson, the son
of Captain Henry Hudson of England. Johnny wore a hat as furry as a mother bear s cub, and a coat made out
of splendid material. Captain Hudson, or Mr. Hudson as Suzy called him, always dressed to look as a king.
Suzy and Johnny were on an adventure of a lifetime, with Mr. Hudson holding the ship s wheel.

Then finally, Johnny and I were able to walk onto the deck when the storm was over. As we entered, I heard
Mr. Hudson. We ve come upon a big problem, men. Johnny gasped as we listened some more. We re
surrounded by frozen water! I ran over to him, panicking like an animal in the winter without food. What shall
we do? I asked quickly. I m afraid we ll be sending some men to venture onto the ice to cut the dangerous
cubes, so we may be freed. He replied, looking out into the ocean. Oh, Mr. Hudson. Could I help to do so? I
asked as the idea came sailing into my head. Mr. Hudson laughed and turned to the crew. MEN! All men...
My hopes were fading away until a second later, Johnny came running up to me. My father needs help. He
doesn t want the men to fall in while cutting the ice. Do you have any ideas? Indeed, I do! We rushed over to
Mr. Hudson on the deck filled with worried crew members. Mr. Hudson, I have an idea. I said. You should
attach rope onto the crew members so they won t fall into the rushing waters while they cut the ice. I smiled
as I spoke. Mr. Hudson

The American Filipino War And The Filipino Revolution Essay
The American Filipino war, the Filipino Revolution, the Filipino Insurrection, whatever name you give to the
armed conflict between America and the Philippines that occurred at the end the eighteenth century and the
beginning of the nineteenth century, it happened and it stays as a footnote on both America s history and the
Philippines history. This war, or how my friend humorously called it, A chain of war atrocities , ended in the
Americans favor. However, the question stands, did the Filipino forces ever stand a chance against the
Americans? Also, did the Filipino war help the Filipinos get what they wanted all along, Filipino
Independence? For the former, you have to look at the belligerents on both sides as well as their tactics along
with the reasons of why my friend called the conflict a chain of war atrocities rather than a war; for the latter,
you must instead look at the different states the Philippines was in after the war leading up to its independence
in order to find out if the American Filipino war acted as a factor. Philippines for a long time could be
considered the Russia of the Pacific. Nations just kept on coming to conquer them. However, unlike Russia,
the Philippines failed to keep its independence every single time. After America, Japan came and took over
for a while. Before America, the Spanish occupied the Philippines. Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese
explorer who had a mission, to circumnavigate the world. His ship and crew would follow him

The Impact Of Residential Schools On Aboriginal People
This paper revealed the impact of residential schools on the Aboriginal people of Canada. If one does not
expect to find education as a tool for assimilation and colonization, indeed you expect to find abuse as a way
of assimilation. This paper argued that although there was an apology if Canada continues to discriminate
against the Aboriginal people reconciliation is not a factor. It is evident that the Canada government obviously
want to stop the Aboriginal people s culture, language, and spirituality. They look at the Aboriginal people as
inferior to take care of their children. It was clear that the Aboriginal children were forcefully collected from
their parent to be under abuse all in the name of assimilation. It is no doubt that

The Leadership Practice Of A Nursing Student
As a nursing student, I have had great success forming therapeutic relationships with my clients and have
received positive feedback from clinical instructors about my patient communication. However, I experience
uncertainty when interacting with peers or colleagues. My lack of confidence translates into difficulty forming
effective professional relationships. This assessment is reflected in my Clinical Leadership Survey as a deficit
in the leadership practice of Encouraging the Heart. This practice includes behaviors such as recognizing
contributions, celebrating accomplishments, and providing feedback (Patrick, Laschinger, Finegan, and Wong,
2011).
The results of my baseline survey support the theory that my weakness is in interprofessional communication.
Alternatively however, I recorded equal strength of fourteen out of fifteen in the other four leadership
practices. Each of these four practices incorporates an element of Emotional Intelligence and reflective
practice. Based on my clinical experiences and feedback from instructors, I agree with these results and can
identify that interprofessional communication is the skill I must develop to become an effective leader.
Personal Strategies Over the Term
Throughout this semester, I worked through the Unfreeze and Move stages of Lewin s Force Field Model for
change. Similar to the Assessment and Planning steps of the Nursing Process, the Unfreezing stage occurs
when the individual identifies a need for change (Kelly

Dental Laser Essay
INTRODUCTION :
New science and technologies are already making their way into all aspects of dental practice and have
changed the traditional approaches, which require that students and practitioners receive the necessary
knowledge.1 Dental laser is one of the most significant developments in modern dentistry. Lasers were
introduced into the field of Dentistry in 1960s, with the hope of overcoming some of the drawbacks posed by
the conventional methods of dental procedures.2 Conventional methods of cavity preparation with low and
high speed handpieces involve noise, uncomfortable vibrations and stress for patients.3 These disadvantages
have led to a search for new techniques as possible alternatives for dental hard and soft tissue removal.3

4. DISCUSSION:
Adequate education, appropriate practice and sufficient knowledge are needed to utilize different dental
technologies. Education at dental school is the most important source of professional knowledge for the dental
students as they rely and depend on the information they are provided in dental school.9 This study provides a
general view about dental laser education and knowledge among final year dental students at Saveetha dental
college. Most of the dental students know the term laser , however, this survey in general assessed some basic
knowledge of dental students regarding the uses of laser in dentistry. Their knowledge in laser physics,
different wavelengths, different types of laser and which type of laser is most appropriate for each case were
not assessed. The specific properties of the laser radiation and applications need to be understood in order to
practice dental laser effectively and to evade therapeutic mistakes. As reported by the 4% of students, only 3
hrs was the average time for dental laser education they got during their study in the full 5 year dental college
program. Majority of the students did not have laser education. This reflects that inadequate

The Life Of A Slave Girl By Harriet Jacobs
In her poignant autobiography, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Harriet Jacobs offers the audience to
experience slavery through a feminist perspective. Unlike neo slave narratives, Jacobs uses the pseudonym
Linda Brent to narrate her first person account in order to keep her identity clandestine. Located in the
Southern part of America, her incidents commence from her sheltered life as a child to her subordination to
her mistress upon her mother s death, and her continuing struggle to live a dignified and virtuous life despite
being enslaved. Using an unconventional chronological structure (interrupting the narrative to address social,
political, or historical commentary) Jacobs centralizes few arguments such as the economics of slavery,
hegemony, pain (physical emotional) and the quest for freedom. However, she admonishes the reader not to
be empathetic for her for ...it is not to awaken sympathy for myself [to which] I am telling you truthfully what
I suffered. I do it to kindle a flame of compassion in your hearts for my sisters who are still in bondage
(Jacobs, 28).
To introduce, in describing the economics of slavery, historians concluded that although male slaves were
generally treasured for their labor and physical strength, whereas females were valued for their offspring. In
addition to the terrors and horrific tragedies endured by enslaved men, women bore the added anguish of
being wrenched from their children. To exacerbate their continuous agony and

Philosophy of W.E.B. DuBois versus Booker T. Washington...
Women should not have the chance for an academic education. They should be trained to cook, clean, and
take care of children. What better way would a woman help society? Would she help her neighbor more by
teaching them mathematics they will never use or by helping their neighbor raise children? This is similar to
what Booker T. Washington claimed about African Americans. He stated that the African Americans should
attend vocational schools rather than receive an academic education so they could better further social change.
W.E.B DuBois had a different approach to further social change by stating that some African Americans
should go to academic schools, while others had trades, and some were considered fools who cannot learn. ...

However, there were two different views at this time, Washington completely disagreed and wanted the
African Americans to go to vocational school and learn trades so they are better able to help one another. He
stated that it is better to know how to lay bricks to help a person in need rather than have the ability to speak
Greek to them. Though both men had the same goal, they wanted to accomplish it in extremely different
ways. The way to accomplish any goal is by teaching students as much as we can. In this case, we can teach
them academics and trades. We can do this by Dewey s principle of learn by doing. For example, the students
would be able to learn arithmetic by playing store and it would also be a vocational trade. This material would
help the students in the future regardless of the path that they choose later in life. I will encourage all of my
students to follow whatever they wish to achieve. We all have our place in this world.
Everyone has a contribution in this world to make, even African Americans. DuBois continually stressed this
to his fellow black community in his book The Souls of Black Folk. What they learn in schools will help the
students determine what they will do further in life. If they choose to be the talented ten and choose
academics, the black world will need them. African Americans need other African Americans to fill all
occupations that a white man would. Who

The New Victory Theater produces the history of the Great Migration to light with its second production of
the season, Step Afrika! s The Migration Reflections on Jacob Lawrence. Directed and Choreographed by
Jakari Sherman, the production highlights the historical movement in the early 20th century of African
Americans to the North from the South. Founder and Executive Director C. Brian Williams takes legendary
artist Jacob Lawrence s colorful, influential paintings and brings them to life. Through the use of African
traditional stepping, tap dance, and powerful percussion, the cast takes the audience through the brave journey

Role Of Mummification In Ancient Egypt
In the study of ancient Egypt there are numerous belief systems followed by the Egyptians that have been
performed over the Pharaonic period. Due to their strong beliefs in the journey or cross over to the afterlife
Egyptians carried out many cultural and religious rituals such as the mummification ceremony. The mindset
and approach Egyptians feel about death is due to their belief in immortality. Death was rather thought to be a
way into a new life therefore they used the method of mummification to preserve the body so that the soul
would return to the body. Egyptians came up with a process of preserving bodies so that they would remain in
a lifelike form. This was because of their strong belief in life after death. Ancient Egyptians believed that
everyone had a soul which they believed to be called the ba and the ka
(http://ss6shms.pbworks.com/f/Mummification+Egypt.pdf). The body of the deceased was needed as a central
focal point to which the spirit s of the deceased which is the ba and the ka were said to be released from the
body at the time of death (web 1). After death ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Each phase of the mummification procedure involves different spells, prayers and magical or religious rituals
that are performed as a form of protection and to assist the deceased on their journey to the afterlife. Many of
the resources that are used in the process of mummification are symbolic as well as practical such as the use
of beeswax, which meant rebirth, and resin, which was said to have meant royalty or holiness
(www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/dept/education/learningresources/factsheets/ancientegyptians/fs_mummification.pdf).
Before mummification began, the body needed to get rid of impurities by washing it. This is an important step
when it comes to the concept of rituals and the practices of the Egyptians customs, as water was associated
with purification and life and is related to aspects of rebirth (web

Ethical Dilemmas in the Nursing Field
There are several dilemmas in the nursing field though nurses reactions to ethical dilemmas are based on their
individual values and beliefs as well as ethical principles, professional codes and the climate of the healthcare
setting. Nurses encounter ethical dilemmas when conflicting values and judgments are present regarding what
is the best course of patient care. Ethical dilemmas are faced by nurses on a daily bases. I am choosing two of
these dilemmas to address.
1. Empirical Knowledge vs. Personal Beliefs:
Empirical knowledge is the type of knowledge that includes empirical research, scientific enquiry,
reductionism and positivism, it is often viewed as true or valid knowledge that can be theoretically explained
by scientific traditional ideas like psychology, pharmacology, sociology and biology or by rigorous empirical
testing which include knowledge from books, journals and conferences.
Example: If a patient is diagnosed with cancer the nurse has a simple list of description like observations,
tables of evidence, graphs, empirical hypothesis, empirical definitions, generalizations, and scientific laws
with no personal knowledge to help the patient understand.
Personal Knowledge: This concerns being self aware, it does not emanate from books, journals, lectures or
conferences it refers to the fact that w e know more than we say (Polyani 1966) or understanding without
rationale (Benner and Tanner 1987). Itr can be as valid as scientific knowledge and nurses can

Females are less violent than males, at least according to recent research. Biologically speaking, there are
differences in levels of violence in men and women (Wright, Tibbett, Daigle, 2008). With eighty five percent
of arrestees being male, it s easy to see that males commit many more violent crimes than females. These
differences are credited to brain configuration, neurotransmitters, the limbic system, and hormones.
There are different intellectual styles between males and females. These differences can be traced to some
particular structural differences between male and female brains that originate in early development. The part

A Positron Emission Tomography study was conducted in order to compare the differing levels of activity of
the amygdala in females and males. The study showed that males typically have higher levels of activity. The
amygdala regulates emotions and is located in the lower part of the limbic system (Beaver, 2009).
The cingulate gyrus is the part of the limbic system that is responsible for keeping emotions and aggression
under control (Wright et al., 2008). Research on the differences in this area between males and females
concluded that females are better retaining emotions internally and are better at displaying emotional behavior
than males. Females have higher levels of serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate
impulses and control behavior. Low levels of serotonin are associated with antisocial behavior (Beaver, 2009).
Likewise, females also usually have a higher level of amino butyric than males. This is a neurotransmitter that
regulates violence and aggression (Wright et al., 2009). The different levels of certain neurotransmitters found
in males and females provide a great deal of explanation for the different levels of aggression, violence and
criminal behavior found between the sexes.
There are many differences in the level of hormones found in males and females. Testosterone is a male
hormone that is responsible for generating

Philosophy is an all important aspect of our lives. It is philosophy that we turn to when have the need to seek

to bring about world shattering concepts. Nevertheless, the common man also ruminates about his life and his

What one believes is sacred and my own beliefs, I cherish dearly. In this aspect, philosophy allows us to live
our lives with confidence, because we know that ideas cannot be taken from us. In the United States, we can
feel free to express our opinions and beliefs as long as we do not impinge upon other s rights. This is where a
common philosophy has been accepted and adopted by a people. This macrocosmic unity of a nation
demonstrates the power of philosophy. In another area, philosophy is vital: religion. Religions are perhaps the
largest groups of people who share a common philosophy. Their uniform beliefs cause the members of each
religion to philosophize in a common theme in which the religion does not allow any radical deviation. One of
philosophy s most important aspects is its flexibility. This flexibility allows the individual to endlessly
engender new thoughts and theories. It was this flexibility that encouraged great thinkers to expound their
ideas. It is dubious that their ideas can change others , but in each stage of transition and growth there is an
opportunity for new philosophies to come in and help us live our lives better. Philosophy grants us the chance

John Donne s quot;the Flea quot;, a Critical Analysis Essay
Since the beginning of time, one of the most captivating and yet elusive of all emotions has been love. Back
in the 17th century most male poets wrote about woman s beauty, while others romanticized lustful
inclinations in poetry. The clich #233; love at first sight, is too often idealized to be the epitome of true love ;
most poets will uphold to the prior statement such as John Donne and Andrew Marvell. In John Donne s The
Flea Donne expresses his love for a woman without having touched her. On the other hand, Andrew Marvell
in To My Coy Mistress, glorifies and adores the woman s beauty; however there is a sense of urgency in his
words and an underlying sexual current as well. Nonetheless, both poets attempt to persuade their ... Show

Donne cleverly asserts that no sin, nor shame was lost and her virginity and purity is still intact, nor loss of

other hand, an insect does not make decisions as humans do and acts according to its instincts; making its
actions random. Wherein could this flea guilty be, / except in that drop it sucked from thee? The random act
of the flea sucking both Donne and his sweethearts blood happened by coincidence. That coincidence Donne
claims is the best way to share their love for each other when he says, Just so much honor, when thou yield st
to me, / Will waste, as this flea s death took life from thee (lines 26 27). If the woman slept with Donne, then
she would be dishonored, and he does not want her wasted away. Whereas, if she kills the flea then the union
of their lives their relationship will die as well. Though Donne attempts to convince the woman of his love via
the flea, Marvell s method is more direct and less particular.
Marvell s method of persuading the woman is overly eager and immodest to the point of animalistic
copulation. He is solely attracted to her beauty, yet her modesty is a barrier for him to win her over with time
being his main enemy. That long preserved virginity, / And your quaint honor turn to dust/ And into ashes

Food truck space is limited, so the types of equipment available to produce the foods for the customers must
be resourceful. The same goes for the number of employees, 2 to three employees will be allowed at any

Costs of operating the food truck will consist of rent of the location being used per day or leased monthly, and
gas and electricity if both are needed to operate the truck, garbage and waste facility to empty out the truck at
end of each day (requirement for food trucks), cost of food sales products and ingredients, and employee
wages which will be calculated at about 2 to 3 employees per day.

A Study of Outsiders Integrating Into a Puritan Community...
Popular mythology conjures up images of Puritan New England as a pious, homogenous, agrarian community,
a Citty upon a Hill intended to inspire the English homeland to turn to Puritan ways.(1) However, Puritan
New England was more than a collection of small, agrarian communities. The harbors of New England
supported shipping and fishing industries, and abundant timber and ore supplies inspired the Puritans of North
America to pursue a colonial version of the English iron industry. These new American Ironworks required
skilled labor; it was not possible simply to take the offspring of Puritan farmers and merchants and turn them
into iron workers. The experienced, skilled laborers needed were mostly recruited from England and,

The Puritans of New England were not renowned for their willingness to accept outsiders into their
communities. According to The book of the general lauus and libertyes concerning the inhabitants of the
Massachusets, individuals, and whole towns, were statutorily prohibited from allowing any stranger to reside
within the jurisdiction for more than three weeks without permission from a magistrate.(3) As an illustration,
in May 1663 John Emery was charged with harboring Quakers, and also was presented on suspicion of
breaking the law in entertaining Mr Greenland four months. (4) A cursory reading of the Essex court records
reveals that Greenland was a doctor who was singularly unsuccessful in controlling his carnal lust. A more
detailed recitation of his exploits is unnecessary here, but as a stranger to the community, Greenland s
behavior made him undesirable to that community, and the community had an interest in, and took action
toward, securing his removal. In fact, six citizens even went so far as to file an additional suit against Emery,
[f]or breach of a town order of Newbery, in entertaining Mr. Greenland to the great prejudice of the town. (5)
But why would a community that refused to tolerate an amorous physician extend toleration to a family of
rude, profane iron workers? The answer may lie in some combination of the Leonards relationship to the
church and the relative scarcity of the

The systematic review is aimed to determine what methods have been used to identify the presence of LH in
diabetes patients treated with insulin. The result of this review reveals that there is little research evidence to
support the formulation of recommendations regarding the method of detection of LH. Forty three papers
(original articles and conference abstract) were included in the review. Three detection methods for LH are in
current use namely visual inspection, palpation and ultrasound. Fourteen papers presented use of ultrasound to
detect LH and found the prevalence of
LH in the range 14.5 86.5%, compared to thirty one papers using palpation. The prevalence identified by
palpation ranged from 14.5% to 54.9%. The variation in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
However, the current use of ultrasound to detect LH uncovers the need for further research, to build up a
scientific foundation for such methods. Strengths and Limitations of the study
This is the first systematic review focusing on LH in diabetes people treated with insulin. A specific search
strategy was design and and a rigorous approach to the literature search and critical appraisal was followed. It
included all published full papers and conference abstracts found in the four major databases in medical and
nursing science, with no limitations on time of publication nor language. It also included cases from both type
I and type 2 diabetes. It covered different study designs and encompassed research in five continents. The
review includes patients using pump, syringe or pen.
The major limitation was the inadequate information due to limited published articles about LH related to
diabetes. Furthermore, the quality of most papers was moderate to low. Forty percent of material was
conference abstracts and case studies, reducing the information content and overall quality. Removing low
quality studies would have caused an incomplete description of

Civil Rights Movement Reflection
I clearly identified and explained the lesson from the CRM. The lesson that I took from the Civil Rights
Movement was that peaceful protests are often the most effective form of protesting. Peaceful protests are
effective for two reasons. The first reason is that they garner sympathy and support. According to the Library
of Congress, the success of the moment can largely be attributed to leaders that embraced the idea of
nonviolence. Secondly, in a nonviolent demonstration, protesters are taking the high ground and matching
their noble ideas with noble actions. I explained, with detail, how a specific event, individual, group, and/or
idea correlates to the lesson. In Martin Luther King Junior s famous speech at the March on Washington, he
urged his audience to protest without violence. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking
from the cup of bitterness and hatred he told the protesters. We must not allow our creative protest to
degenerate into physical violence. This speech inspired thousands of African Americans to engage in
nonviolent protests. Many of the most famous civil rights protests were conducted without resorting to
violence, such as the Freedom Rides, the Childrens Crusades, and the sit ins that took place across America.
These correlate to the lesson because they were some of the most effective protests of the movement, largely
due to their nonviolent nature. I applied this lesson to some challenge in current society,

Electroconvulsive Treatment
Various forms of treatment for people with mental illness have been available. Treatment depends on the type
and degree of symptoms displayed by patients. Symptoms of various mental illnesses vary from person to
person, ranging from mild to severe. It often happens, people suffering from mental illness do not even know
that in fact they are sick and need for treatment. In these circumstances, the close friends and relatives should
consult with someone who is an expert in the field of mental health, for example, is a psychiatrist or
psychologist who can perform professional actions to address them. This form of treatment of mental illness
based on the belief that the cause, which lies in the way a person reacts or feel a lot of things in his ... Show

In the beginning, these drugs have many side effects. However, because of the development of certain
modifications, it is now available with lower side effects. The best part of this drug is that it allows people
with mental illness to live as normal people. They do not have to spend time in a mental hospital. Mood
Stabilizers This medicine is good for patients with manic depressive. This will prevent the possibility of
depression recur. Besides, these drugs also help to reduce the rate to not more severe depression. Here is a
selection of treatment where the patient must be hospitalized. Electroconvulsive therapy In this method, after
the administration of general anesthesia, the electric current will flow through a person s brain. This method is
usually used to treat patients with severe depression. However, this method is no longer used as often as in the
past. It is used only in cases where other methods fail to show any results. Hospitalization This method is
done only in extreme cases. When some of the required intensive care, the patient is in the hospital under
observation for a short time. Mental illness affects mental and physical health of the patient. It is important to
get the right treatment at the right time. If you see people around you get symptoms of mental illness,

Physical Therapy Experience
Hello everyone, The physical therapist first encounter with a patient often serves as a telltale of what to expect
and how to go about the therapeutic relationship. The initial contact with a patient gives the therapist an
impressive view of the tip of the iceberg, in a way it provides important gauges on how to navigate to and
around a patient s persona. PTs should be cognizant of the premise that the mind and body are inseparable,
and these two realms work in synergy to define a person s current health status. In our day to day practice,
patients are referred to physical therapy due to their physical impairments and disability. With a life changing
event as a result of a health condition patient may manifest signs and symptoms of impaired mental wellness
depression. As Fair (2011) has elucidated, diagnosing a mental health disorder is not within the PT scope of
practice, but ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A shorter period of depression resulting from a life changing event or crisis characterizes adjustment disorders
and presents with a better prognosis compared to major depressive, depressive disorder not otherwise
specified (NOS) and dysthymic disorder (Haggman, Maher, Refshauge, 2004). The group where AD is most
commonly diagnosed is those of the population with physical illness (Casey, 2014) which we often see in our
clinical practice. It is believed to be a transient situational personality disturbance that will resolve over time
when the stressor is resolved. Symptoms to look for AD are low mood, sadness, worry, anxiety, insomnia,
poor concentration, loss of self esteem, hopelessness, feeling trapped, having no good options, and feeling
isolated or cut off from others (Frank Bienenfeld, 2014). As we can see these symptoms would have a
substantial impact on a patient s ability to participate in

Multiple Biological Theory
It is widely known that there are multiple biological theories and psychological theories of addiction. In this
paper, I will select the genetic inheritance theory of biological theories of addiction and the addictive
personality theory of psychological theories of addiction to illustrate how both theories are different and
similar. In addition, I will discuss if I would use these theories in my future practice.
First of all, the genetic inheritance theory is one of biological theories of addiction, and its perspective is that
biological (genetic) inheritance influences the addiction behavior much stronger than environment and life
experiences. The twin and adoption studies suggest the significance of genetic inheritance influences in male,
and heritability of male twins studies is approximated from 49% to 64% (McGue, 1999). From the research,
we can obvious to see how the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
A study found that 18% people have antisocial personality disorder and illegal drug use disorders and 9%
people who have alcohol use disorders more than the 4% in the general population (Szalavitz, 2015). The
implication of this study was that even though antisocial traits are one of determinates of substance use
disorder, most people who have addictions do not have fully fledged ASPD and most people who have ASPD
don t have addictions (Szalavitz, 2015). Both biological and psychological theories of addiction influence
current practices. Biological theories emphasize the importance of physiological factors including genetics.
Thus, when counselors have therapy with clients, they may think about the reason why some people tend to
be unable to control themselves once they begin. It may because heredity that happen within the body.
However, psychological theories have different views of addiction, which consist of personality theories and
other related psychological theories. It may be explained by personality disorder

Comparison Of ITD And ILD For Binaural Processing
(Grothe, Pecka Mcalpine, 2010). The comparisons of ITD and ILD for binaural processing in the auditory
system begin at the superior olivary complex (SOC) where bushy cells in the CN target the nuclei of the SOC
(Stotler, 1953; Lindsey, 1975). The processing of monaural cues originate from specialized cells in the AVCN
and DCN to the lateral lemniscus, or directly to the inferior colliculus (IC) on the contralateral side (Schwartz,
1992). The IC receives almost all ascending fibres as a synaptic station and exhibits more complex response
characteristics than the lower brainstem nuclei. It appears that binaural processing and hence localization is
completed at the level of the IC although information on binaural processing mechanisms at ... Show more

The results of the study suggested that the buildup of precedence effect relates to N1 refractoriness, event

Neuronal processing of spectral cues
The various types of DCN neurons appear specialized for processing spectral cues. Responses of type IV
neurons seem to be determined by neural circuits within the DCN (Oertel Young, 2004) and show small
islands (lateral inhibition) at high intensity stimulation. This inhibitory network of type IV neurons may be a
provision for the tuning of neural inputs from primary auditory nerve fibers. Therefore, the neural network
and inhibition in the DCN render these specialized neurons sensitive to notches in the acoustic spectrum
generated by the interaction of sound with the various structures of the torso (Imig, Bibikov, Poirier, Samson,
2000; Young, Spirous, Rice, Voigt, 1992). The main target of type IV neurons in the DCN is type O neurons in
the IC. Type O neurons in the IC exhibit an inhibitory receptive field with a small area of excitation at low
stimulus intensities. IC neurons show response to the frequency of a spectral notch with opposite
characteristics to type IV neurons in the DCN, showing considerable excitatory responses for a single notch
frequency, particularly at higher sound intensities, flanked by inhibitory regions

He wants value for his money in terms of quality and variety. No wonder, multi cuisine restaurants are
mushrooming even in small towns. Italian, Mexican, Lebanese, Japanese, Cajun the list is growing.
Corroborating this trend, Euromonitor International, a market research company, says the amount of money
Indians spend on meals outside the home has more than doubled in the past decade, to about US$5 billion a
year, and is expected to double again in about half that time.
Another interesting trend noticed in consumer patterns is the growth of branded products. The branded food
market is on a roll. It grew over 5 per cent in 2004, according to the latest ACNielsen Global Services report
on global trends in food and beverages.
That makes food an attractive proposition for investors. Savvy companies have pumped in more than Rs
60,000 crore (US$13.78 billion) in new food and farm businesses in 2004. According to industry estimates,
321 private sector projects worth Rs 60,360 crore (US$13.86 billion) were announced in 2004 compared to 89
with an investment of Rs 2,130 crore (US$489.3 million) in 2003.
The popularity of food and agro products is not surprising when the sector is now offering a growth of more
than 150 per cent in sales. With such promise in the sector, a number of foreign companies have joined the
fray.

Symbolism In Beowulf
Can Beowulf be a representation of Christ for the Anglo Saxon era people? Many have speculated or at least
pondered on his actions to be Christ like. When it comes down to it there are people who claim Beowulf to be
Christ like and there are people who say Beowulf is not Christ like but just pagan folklore or an epic past
down from generation to generation. In this article you will hear reasons as to why he is considered Christ like
through his own actions and free will, you will see this through symbolism, portrayal of Christ, an example of
knowing that they will die, and finally knowing that they will be betrayed by their own followers . So if you
carefully read through this argument of the epic as to why Beowulf is like that, then you can at least see a
glimpse or fully pick up on his Christ like abilities by personality, actions, and patterns. ... Show more content

What was said earlier was that Beowulf was compassionate about his fellow man, he was kindly, mild, gentle
amongst man, and forgiving to his fellow man too. He was like this because he knew man itself cannot thrive
on it s own hate or prejudices but could thrive on life and learning. He sought out the good in people to
motivate them as Jesus Christ did. Beowulf did all of these good deeds because he did it for the good of man
and because he loathed the powers of evil that tempted man. He did all this for the good of man and because
he cared of his people too, in the end of the epic Beowulf was proven to fight hard and save the treasure for
his people so they could thrive for many years. One other thing Beowulf did to prove this Christ like sense
was that he always thanked god, one example of this is, By favor of God we won the fight, did the deed of
valor, and boldly dared the might of the monster, (Pg. 19) In just that line not only did he thank God but he
was preaching to his men as well like Jesus

Tres Riches Heures Of Jean Duc De Berry AndPoet On A...
To begin, the two paintings have in common is the obvious aspects of the settings being outside. Also, they
both show sign of civilization with people being the subject and having some sort of housing in the works.
February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry and Poet on a Mountain Top , also have some similarities
in their brush work, there is amazing in the nature and settings of these two paintings. Finally, both works
have some type of inscription on them. These two pieces do not have much in common aside from a few
things, their contrasts will be up for discussion next.
The first difference spotted between these two is that Poet on a Mountain Top , is in black and white, and
February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry is painted in color. Aside from that, February, Tres Riches
Heures of Jean Duc de Berry , is part of a prayer book and Poet on a Mountain Top is a literati painting,
meaning that it was not painted for money but was just meant for someone else to have. Next, Poet on a
Mountain Top has a scholar in the picture finding the spirit in nature, and, February, Tres Riches Heures of
Jean Duc de Berry expresses what it is like to a peasant in the winter. Also, Poet on a Mountain Top has a
poem inscribed on it, while, February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry has a zodiac calendar
inscribed on the top. In, February, Tres Riches Heures of Jean Duc de Berry it gives more of a depressing feel
with the peasants losing their crops

Ways to Prevent Genocide
GENOCIDE PREVENTION Genocide Prevention The term genocide was developed during the Holocaust
and announced an international crime during the 1948 United Nations Convention that focused on Prevention
and Punishment of genocide as a crime. Genocide is, therefore, defined as deeds committed with the aim of
destroying, in whole or partially, anethnical, national, religious or racial group.Such acts include, killing
followers of the group, causing serious physical or mental harm to followers of the group,
intentionallyimposing on the group conditions of living aimed at bringing about its physical loss, imposing
measures envisioned to prevent new births within the group, or compulsorily transferring children of the
society to a different group. The intent to destroy certain groups is unique to the characterisation of genocide.
Closely related categories of international law crimes touching humanity aredescribed as adverse or calculated
attacks against citizens. This timeline marks the growth of the term genocide and its systematization into
international law. Genocide is an ancient old crime.Genocides in prehistory were often organised not just to
eliminate enemy ethnicities, but to integrate and exploit their representatives. It was children and women who
were spared the killings. They were seen as the group least able to retaliate, and as parents of offspring for the
central group.By contrast, males were often killed. The roots of gender cideagainst men and boys are

The reason McDonald s has been succeeded in the fast food industry is the value of money of their products,
and the fast clean and friendly environment. Customers are getting attracted to this chain over competitors due
to the quality of service and they could get burgers and fries at one price, not like other places who sells the
same products, food package can be bought for a same price. The other quality is the consistency, with this
qualities, Korc noticed that they have a potential of opening new stores and expand the business into mass
scale successfully, which they do currently.
In 1965 USA market, McDonald s held an IPO in new York stock exchange, with the analysis, it is been
figured out that the US market has reached to saturation and that every opening of a new McDonald s
restaurant intruded upon the revenues of other restaurants already in operation. Based on considering all these
facts, McDonald s decided to pursue a diversification strategy, in pre selected countries, General Management
would develop core competencies, the purpose of which was to build more profit and revenue winning
restaurants, and to develop these core competencies for use as a model throughout the corporation.
This competency center in each country would share its acquired knowledge with other restaurants so that
new products or services could be implemented to generate new growth.
McDonald s Switzerland got the green light from the Chicago executive board to pursue a hotel venture.

Simone Beauvoir
Throughout history, women have been constantly objectified and forced into submission by a male dominated
society. Simone de Beauvoir s philosophical work, The Second Sex, echoes this intense oppression of women
and reflects the first wave feminist movement. Her existentialist decoding of genders resulted in the idea of
the Other, which explores the phenomenon that women are forced into the role of an object, while men are the
subject. In the second chapter of The Second Sex, The Girl , Beauvoir further studies the idea of this
oppression during one s transition from a girl into a woman. Beauvoir states that no matter how much
freedom and sense of self a girl holds, she is always forced into the role of the Other in society. Beauvoir s

Beauvoir describes the relationship between men and women as, In her eyes, man embodies the Other, as she
does for the man; but for her this Other appears in the essential mode, and she grasps herself as the inessential
opposite him (Beauvoir 342). Men embody the Other in the eyes of women and are the subject and absolute to
women. On the other hand, women are referred as the Other and are subordinate to men. She must be
inessential in comparison to him, which is the exact opposite of the relationship between Mako and Korra.
Unlike the relationship between girls and men that Beauvoir describes, Korra is the subject in relation to
Mako. By himself, he is essentially nothing which completely contradicts Beauvoir s idea of the Other.
Without Korra, Mako is incomplete, his entire identity is based off Korra. He speaks about himself in relation
to Korra, It s harder being the Avatar s boyfriend . His submission is shown through becoming inessential
opposite [her] and that he is only something in reference to Korra. He is not the absolute and disproves
Beauvoir s claim that women are inessential in relation to

  • 2. Fry In The Bay Monologue Analysis Bravery in the Bay By Grace Colombo PROLOGUE Suzy McHullivan was a cheerful young girl with braids as long as the sun s rays. She gracefully strolled around in a beautiful, fluffy, and pale blue dress. Lucky for her, she was friends with Johnny Hudson, the son of Captain Henry Hudson of England. Johnny wore a hat as furry as a mother bear s cub, and a coat made out of splendid material. Captain Hudson, or Mr. Hudson as Suzy called him, always dressed to look as a king. Suzy and Johnny were on an adventure of a lifetime, with Mr. Hudson holding the ship s wheel. Winter on the Ship, 1609 1610 The weather had been treacherous the last two days. It was like trying to get the cookie you wanted from Mama s cookie jar back home in England, just ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Then finally, Johnny and I were able to walk onto the deck when the storm was over. As we entered, I heard Mr. Hudson. We ve come upon a big problem, men. Johnny gasped as we listened some more. We re surrounded by frozen water! I ran over to him, panicking like an animal in the winter without food. What shall we do? I asked quickly. I m afraid we ll be sending some men to venture onto the ice to cut the dangerous cubes, so we may be freed. He replied, looking out into the ocean. Oh, Mr. Hudson. Could I help to do so? I asked as the idea came sailing into my head. Mr. Hudson laughed and turned to the crew. MEN! All men... My hopes were fading away until a second later, Johnny came running up to me. My father needs help. He doesn t want the men to fall in while cutting the ice. Do you have any ideas? Indeed, I do! We rushed over to Mr. Hudson on the deck filled with worried crew members. Mr. Hudson, I have an idea. I said. You should attach rope onto the crew members so they won t fall into the rushing waters while they cut the ice. I smiled as I spoke. Mr. Hudson ... • 3. The American Filipino War And The Filipino Revolution Essay The American Filipino war, the Filipino Revolution, the Filipino Insurrection, whatever name you give to the armed conflict between America and the Philippines that occurred at the end the eighteenth century and the beginning of the nineteenth century, it happened and it stays as a footnote on both America s history and the Philippines history. This war, or how my friend humorously called it, A chain of war atrocities , ended in the Americans favor. However, the question stands, did the Filipino forces ever stand a chance against the Americans? Also, did the Filipino war help the Filipinos get what they wanted all along, Filipino Independence? For the former, you have to look at the belligerents on both sides as well as their tactics along with the reasons of why my friend called the conflict a chain of war atrocities rather than a war; for the latter, you must instead look at the different states the Philippines was in after the war leading up to its independence in order to find out if the American Filipino war acted as a factor. Philippines for a long time could be considered the Russia of the Pacific. Nations just kept on coming to conquer them. However, unlike Russia, the Philippines failed to keep its independence every single time. After America, Japan came and took over for a while. Before America, the Spanish occupied the Philippines. Ferdinand Magellan was a Portuguese explorer who had a mission, to circumnavigate the world. His ship and crew would follow him ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. The Impact Of Residential Schools On Aboriginal People This paper revealed the impact of residential schools on the Aboriginal people of Canada. If one does not expect to find education as a tool for assimilation and colonization, indeed you expect to find abuse as a way of assimilation. This paper argued that although there was an apology if Canada continues to discriminate against the Aboriginal people reconciliation is not a factor. It is evident that the Canada government obviously want to stop the Aboriginal people s culture, language, and spirituality. They look at the Aboriginal people as inferior to take care of their children. It was clear that the Aboriginal children were forcefully collected from their parent to be under abuse all in the name of assimilation. It is no doubt that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. The Leadership Practice Of A Nursing Student As a nursing student, I have had great success forming therapeutic relationships with my clients and have received positive feedback from clinical instructors about my patient communication. However, I experience uncertainty when interacting with peers or colleagues. My lack of confidence translates into difficulty forming effective professional relationships. This assessment is reflected in my Clinical Leadership Survey as a deficit in the leadership practice of Encouraging the Heart. This practice includes behaviors such as recognizing contributions, celebrating accomplishments, and providing feedback (Patrick, Laschinger, Finegan, and Wong, 2011). The results of my baseline survey support the theory that my weakness is in interprofessional communication. Alternatively however, I recorded equal strength of fourteen out of fifteen in the other four leadership practices. Each of these four practices incorporates an element of Emotional Intelligence and reflective practice. Based on my clinical experiences and feedback from instructors, I agree with these results and can identify that interprofessional communication is the skill I must develop to become an effective leader. Personal Strategies Over the Term Throughout this semester, I worked through the Unfreeze and Move stages of Lewin s Force Field Model for change. Similar to the Assessment and Planning steps of the Nursing Process, the Unfreezing stage occurs when the individual identifies a need for change (Kelly ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Dental Laser Essay INTRODUCTION : New science and technologies are already making their way into all aspects of dental practice and have changed the traditional approaches, which require that students and practitioners receive the necessary knowledge.1 Dental laser is one of the most significant developments in modern dentistry. Lasers were introduced into the field of Dentistry in 1960s, with the hope of overcoming some of the drawbacks posed by the conventional methods of dental procedures.2 Conventional methods of cavity preparation with low and high speed handpieces involve noise, uncomfortable vibrations and stress for patients.3 These disadvantages have led to a search for new techniques as possible alternatives for dental hard and soft tissue removal.3 Different ... Education at dental school is the most important source of professional knowledge for the dental students as they rely and depend on the information they are provided in dental school.9 This study provides a general view about dental laser education and knowledge among final year dental students at Saveetha dental college. Most of the dental students know the term laser , however, this survey in general assessed some basic knowledge of dental students regarding the uses of laser in dentistry. Their knowledge in laser physics, different wavelengths, different types of laser and which type of laser is most appropriate for each case were not assessed. The specific properties of the laser radiation and applications need to be understood in order to practice dental laser effectively and to evade therapeutic mistakes. As reported by the 4% of students, only 3 hrs was the average time for dental laser education they got during their study in the full 5 year dental college program. Majority of the students did not have laser education. This reflects that inadequate ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. The Life Of A Slave Girl By Harriet Jacobs In her poignant autobiography, Incidents in the Life of a Slave Girl, Harriet Jacobs offers the audience to experience slavery through a feminist perspective. Unlike neo slave narratives, Jacobs uses the pseudonym Linda Brent to narrate her first person account in order to keep her identity clandestine. Located in the Southern part of America, her incidents commence from her sheltered life as a child to her subordination to her mistress upon her mother s death, and her continuing struggle to live a dignified and virtuous life despite being enslaved. Using an unconventional chronological structure (interrupting the narrative to address social, political, or historical commentary) Jacobs centralizes few arguments such as the economics of slavery, hegemony, pain (physical emotional) and the quest for freedom. However, she admonishes the reader not to be empathetic for her for ...it is not to awaken sympathy for myself [to which] I am telling you truthfully what I suffered. I do it to kindle a flame of compassion in your hearts for my sisters who are still in bondage (Jacobs, 28). To introduce, in describing the economics of slavery, historians concluded that although male slaves were generally treasured for their labor and physical strength, whereas females were valued for their offspring. In addition to the terrors and horrific tragedies endured by enslaved men, women bore the added anguish of being wrenched from their children. To exacerbate their continuous agony and ... • 8. Philosophy of W.E.B. DuBois versus Booker T. Washington... Women should not have the chance for an academic education. They should be trained to cook, clean, and take care of children. What better way would a woman help society? Would she help her neighbor more by teaching them mathematics they will never use or by helping their neighbor raise children? This is similar to what Booker T. Washington claimed about African Americans. He stated that the African Americans should attend vocational schools rather than receive an academic education so they could better further social change. W.E.B DuBois had a different approach to further social change by stating that some African Americans should go to academic schools, while others had trades, and some were considered fools who cannot learn. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, there were two different views at this time, Washington completely disagreed and wanted the African Americans to go to vocational school and learn trades so they are better able to help one another. He stated that it is better to know how to lay bricks to help a person in need rather than have the ability to speak Greek to them. Though both men had the same goal, they wanted to accomplish it in extremely different ways. The way to accomplish any goal is by teaching students as much as we can. In this case, we can teach them academics and trades. We can do this by Dewey s principle of learn by doing. For example, the students would be able to learn arithmetic by playing store and it would also be a vocational trade. This material would help the students in the future regardless of the path that they choose later in life. I will encourage all of my students to follow whatever they wish to achieve. We all have our place in this world. Everyone has a contribution in this world to make, even African Americans. DuBois continually stressed this to his fellow black community in his book The Souls of Black Folk. What they learn in schools will help the students determine what they will do further in life. If they choose to be the talented ten and choose academics, the black world will need them. African Americans need other African Americans to fill all occupations that a white man would. Who ... • 10. Role Of Mummification In Ancient Egypt In the study of ancient Egypt there are numerous belief systems followed by the Egyptians that have been performed over the Pharaonic period. Due to their strong beliefs in the journey or cross over to the afterlife Egyptians carried out many cultural and religious rituals such as the mummification ceremony. The mindset and approach Egyptians feel about death is due to their belief in immortality. Death was rather thought to be a way into a new life therefore they used the method of mummification to preserve the body so that the soul would return to the body. Egyptians came up with a process of preserving bodies so that they would remain in a lifelike form. This was because of their strong belief in life after death. Ancient Egyptians believed that everyone had a soul which they believed to be called the ba and the ka (http://ss6shms.pbworks.com/f/Mummification+Egypt.pdf). The body of the deceased was needed as a central focal point to which the spirit s of the deceased which is the ba and the ka were said to be released from the body at the time of death (web 1). Each phase of the mummification procedure involves different spells, prayers and magical or religious rituals that are performed as a form of protection and to assist the deceased on their journey to the afterlife. Many of the resources that are used in the process of mummification are symbolic as well as practical such as the use of beeswax, which meant rebirth, and resin, which was said to have meant royalty or holiness (www.fitzmuseum.cam.ac.uk/dept/education/learningresources/factsheets/ancientegyptians/fs_mummification.pdf). Before mummification began, the body needed to get rid of impurities by washing it. • 11. Ethical Dilemmas in the Nursing Field There are several dilemmas in the nursing field though nurses reactions to ethical dilemmas are based on their individual values and beliefs as well as ethical principles, professional codes and the climate of the healthcare setting. Nurses encounter ethical dilemmas when conflicting values and judgments are present regarding what is the best course of patient care. Ethical dilemmas are faced by nurses on a daily bases. I am choosing two of these dilemmas to address. 1. Empirical Knowledge vs. Personal Beliefs: Empirical knowledge is the type of knowledge that includes empirical research, scientific enquiry, reductionism and positivism, it is often viewed as true or valid knowledge that can be theoretically explained by scientific traditional ideas like psychology, pharmacology, sociology and biology or by rigorous empirical testing which include knowledge from books, journals and conferences. Example: If a patient is diagnosed with cancer the nurse has a simple list of description like observations, tables of evidence, graphs, empirical hypothesis, empirical definitions, generalizations, and scientific laws with no personal knowledge to help the patient understand. Personal Knowledge: This concerns being self aware, it does not emanate from books, journals, lectures or conferences it refers to the fact that w e know more than we say (Polyani 1966) or understanding without rationale (Benner and Tanner 1987). Itr can be as valid as scientific knowledge and nurses can ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Biologically speaking, there are differences in levels of violence in men and women (Wright, Tibbett, Daigle, 2008). With eighty five percent of arrestees being male, it s easy to see that males commit many more violent crimes than females. These differences are credited to brain configuration, neurotransmitters, the limbic system, and hormones. There are different intellectual styles between males and females. These differences can be traced to some particular structural differences between male and female brains that originate in early development. A Positron Emission Tomography study was conducted in order to compare the differing levels of activity of the amygdala in females and males. The study showed that males typically have higher levels of activity. The amygdala regulates emotions and is located in the lower part of the limbic system (Beaver, 2009). The cingulate gyrus is the part of the limbic system that is responsible for keeping emotions and aggression under control (Wright et al., 2008). Research on the differences in this area between males and females concluded that females are better retaining emotions internally and are better at displaying emotional behavior than males. Females have higher levels of serotonin. Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that helps regulate impulses and control behavior. Low levels of serotonin are associated with antisocial behavior (Beaver, 2009). Likewise, females also usually have a higher level of amino butyric than males. This is a neurotransmitter that regulates violence and aggression (Wright et al., 2009). The different levels of certain neurotransmitters found in males and females provide a great deal of explanation for the different levels of aggression, violence and criminal behavior found between the sexes. This is where a common philosophy has been accepted and adopted by a people. This macrocosmic unity of a nation demonstrates the power of philosophy. In another area, philosophy is vital: religion. Religions are perhaps the largest groups of people who share a common philosophy. Their uniform beliefs cause the members of each religion to philosophize in a common theme in which the religion does not allow any radical deviation. One of philosophy s most important aspects is its flexibility. This flexibility allows the individual to endlessly engender new thoughts and theories. It was this flexibility that encouraged great thinkers to expound their ideas. • 15. John Donne s quot;the Flea quot;, a Critical Analysis Essay Since the beginning of time, one of the most captivating and yet elusive of all emotions has been love. Back in the 17th century most male poets wrote about woman s beauty, while others romanticized lustful inclinations in poetry. The clich #233; love at first sight, is too often idealized to be the epitome of true love ; most poets will uphold to the prior statement such as John Donne and Andrew Marvell. In John Donne s The Flea Donne expresses his love for a woman without having touched her. Donne cleverly asserts that no sin, nor shame was lost and her virginity and purity is still intact, nor loss of maidenhead. And because of this, she should cherish the flea, which is the symbol of their relationship. On the other hand, an insect does not make decisions as humans do and acts according to its instincts; making its actions random. Wherein could this flea guilty be, / except in that drop it sucked from thee? The random act of the flea sucking both Donne and his sweethearts blood happened by coincidence. That coincidence Donne claims is the best way to share their love for each other when he says, Just so much honor, when thou yield st to me, / Will waste, as this flea s death took life from thee (lines 26 27). If the woman slept with Donne, then she would be dishonored, and he does not want her wasted away. Whereas, if she kills the flea then the union of their lives their relationship will die as well. Though Donne attempts to convince the woman of his love via the flea, Marvell s method is more direct and less particular. Marvell s method of persuading the woman is overly eager and immodest to the point of animalistic copulation. He is solely attracted to her beauty, yet her modesty is a barrier for him to win her over with time being his main enemy. Popular mythology conjures up images of Puritan New England as a pious, homogenous, agrarian community, a Citty upon a Hill intended to inspire the English homeland to turn to Puritan ways.(1) However, Puritan New England was more than a collection of small, agrarian communities. The harbors of New England supported shipping and fishing industries, and abundant timber and ore supplies inspired the Puritans of North America to pursue a colonial version of the English iron industry. • 22. Civil Rights Movement Reflection I clearly identified and explained the lesson from the CRM. The lesson that I took from the Civil Rights Movement was that peaceful protests are often the most effective form of protesting. Peaceful protests are effective for two reasons. The first reason is that they garner sympathy and support. According to the Library of Congress, the success of the moment can largely be attributed to leaders that embraced the idea of nonviolence. Secondly, in a nonviolent demonstration, protesters are taking the high ground and matching their noble ideas with noble actions. I explained, with detail, how a specific event, individual, group, and/or idea correlates to the lesson. In Martin Luther King Junior s famous speech at the March on Washington, he urged his audience to protest without violence. Let us not seek to satisfy our thirst for freedom by drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred he told the protesters. We must not allow our creative protest to degenerate into physical violence. This speech inspired thousands of African Americans to engage in nonviolent protests. Many of the most famous civil rights protests were conducted without resorting to violence, such as the Freedom Rides, the Childrens Crusades, and the sit ins that took place across America. These correlate to the lesson because they were some of the most effective protests of the movement, largely due to their nonviolent nature. I applied this lesson to some challenge in current society, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

First of all, the genetic inheritance theory is one of biological theories of addiction, and its perspective is that biological (genetic) inheritance influences the addiction behavior much stronger than environment and life experiences. The comparisons of ITD and ILD for binaural processing in the auditory system begin at the superior olivary complex (SOC) where bushy cells in the CN target the nuclei of the SOC (Stotler, 1953; Lindsey, 1975). The processing of monaural cues originate from specialized cells in the AVCN and DCN to the lateral lemniscus, or directly to the inferior colliculus (IC) on the contralateral side (Schwartz, 1992).
