My Experience Of Homecoming
Homecoming The first time I went back home after coming to college was a rollercoaster of
emotions. After arriving home I was embraced with open arms by my mom and dad. This was
the first time I had seen them since being dropped off at college and I suddenly realized how
much I missed them. I called every so often but being in my own home being able to talk and
with them was something I hadn t ever experienced. All of my worries about homework and
future exams were gone and I got to enjoy the company of my parents. At the beginning of
college I constantly felt like I couldn t be myself. Coming home these feelings vanished because
I was surrounded by those who loved me. After spending a few hours catching up, I went to
reconnect with my high school friends. Seeing them I was flooded with nostalgia because these
were the guys I had spent my life getting to know. We sat around a campfire and talked all about
our college experiences each with a different story. It felt surreal because even in this short time
I could tell everyone had changed. We all were more mature and in the little time we had grown
slightly apart. This was hard to admit but we all could tell. Throughout the campfire we shared
stories and laughed at our experiences during our first few months of college. Being back with
friends was different because every so often we would text or snapchat our friends from college.
You could tell we all appreciated being back but we had made a new home at our colleges.

Essay On Hawaii Annexation
Hawaii s annexation, was it legal and fair to the natives of the island? The proposal that Hawaii
reached Statehood by a just manner has been inaccurate and presents a false interpretation of the
facts. Though seized through the era of imperialism, Hawaii remained as one of the few territories
unclaimed and consequently was seized swiftly. The eventual statehood of Hawaii was produced
with wrongful acts because of imperial greed. The annexation of Hawaii is an unjust act because of
the circumstances surrounding the illegal annexation, clear wishes of the natives, and unlawful
gain of territory.
The circumstances surrounding the annexation of Hawaii are often left unsaid and remain
unknown by citizens of the United States. Hawaii was first annexed into the United States of
America in 1898 after white settlers refused to give up control of the Hawaiian government.
However, previously President Cleveland opposed annexation and retracted the annexation treated
proposed to the Senate. Cleveland supported a restoration of the Hawaiian monarchy and used his
administration to oppose annexation. He used James Blount to discover the views of the Hawaiian
natives on annexation, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
unlawfully gained Hawaii as a territory due to one major contributing factor, the Spanish American
War. High tensions and treaties failing, the U.S. sought to use Hawaii as a strategic gain on
Spanish, by creating a strong military base in the Pacific. Advocates argued that Hawaii was
needed to support American soldiers in the Philippines (Moss 18). It is required for the people of
the native land to consent to being annexed into a country by Joint Resolution, but nevertheless, the
appropriate procedures were ignored. These procedures were not met because of the potential
economic, strategic, and imperial gain. After illegally annexing Hawaii by Joint Resolution and
violating the U.S. Constitution, Hawaii ultimately became a controlled point in the U.S. s stride for
imperialism

How Did Alain Locke Enter The New Negro
I chose to write about Alain Locke and the Harlem Renaissance for this paper because I caught
my attention when reading about the minds of blacks at that time. His mind set of
achievements, becoming a black activist during the Harlem Renaissance caught my attention
because that time blacks were limited in what they could do or they were too afraid to speak
their mind. His speech Enter the New Negro helped open the eyes of the many people who has
come across it. His speech was meant to speak for the Black American who were scared to speak
for themselves. He aimed to give a voice to those who were not brave enough to speak up. Writing
my paper on Alain Locke was easier for me because although it was not my discussion board
post, it was the post I felt more confident in writing about because of the helped I recently gained
from Professor Carlacio about my writing. Struggling in this paper and my other discussion
opened my eyes as did Alain Locke s writing did to those who read it. I ve come to realize that I
needed to make a better effort to understand the context. This critical paper helped analyze more of
what went on during the Harlem Renaissance and the mind of Alain Locke. Alain Locke started off

higher up in the political standing. They took advantage of the simple fact that American Negros

Racial Discrimination In African American History
It is normal for us to see people with different race around us now that do service and labor in
America , and they mostly don t get discriminated because of their race. However, there was a
different story of racial discrimination back in American history. Overtime there are many changes
for racial discrimination that has been made in the treatment of the people who build, serve, and
protect our country in different ways, those people are the African American and the Native
Americans. One of the most important group of people who are a big part of American history are
African American. They went through a lot of service and labor journey for them to be noticeable

American Culture In The Namesake, By Jhumpa Lahiri
Culture is not just about race, family background, and inheritance. It is bigger than that.
Characters and actor s choice are significant to present this. Characters used in the book and
movie relates. When I was reading the book, I had an idea of how Ashima, Gogol, Ashoke looks.
Most of those ideas were true. I thought Gogol would be better looking and darker shade skin.
Ashima is exactly what I thought she would look like. Ashoke is shown as this perfect husband,
dad a provider. A lot of Gogol s character is understood as it foreshadows when Gogol was six
months old and during his Rice Ceremony, Gogol had to choose between a dollar, a pen, and dirt.
Each represents a different profession in the future. As it suggests to the future, Gogol doesn t
choose none of them and cries. We see the same thing when he is an adult, he chooses to embrace
the culturehe grew up in, American Culture even thought he struggled to respect both cultures that
are polar opposites of each other.
The novel The Namesake written by Jhumpa Lahiri writes about the struggle and hardships of a
Bengali couple who immigrate to the US from India to create a lifestyle outside of everything they
have known all their lives. The story begins as Ashoke marries Ashima and brings her to the
Massachusetts. Their first child s name is Gogol, which they didn t intend on naming initially but
because of different mistakes, Gogol has officially become his name. This book/film gave a pleasant
insight into identity

The Effect Of Obedience During The Holocaust
The Effects of Obedience Often, researchers wonder why obedience has such a strong effect.
Some researchers say that obedience is a conscious thing; however, some researchers also say that
obedience comes from the fear of authority figures. What exactly does obedience and authority
mean? Obedience is compliance with that which is required by authority; subjection to rightful
restraint or control. (Obedience, 2003) Authority is a legal or rightful power; a right to command
or to act; power exercised buy a person in virtue of his office or trust; dominion; jurisdiction;
authorization. (Authority, 2003)
Stanley Milgram, a psychologist at Yale University, and other members of the community also
questioned the nature of obedience. Milgram reflected back to the 1933 events of the Holocaust.
Milgram began to question the intentions of the soldiers serving under Eichmann. Why would all
those German soldiers go along with kill millions of innocent Jews, slaves, homosexuals, children,
and gypsies? Were the soldiers just following the orders of Adolf Eichmann, leader of the German
Army? Milgram was interested in doing the obedience to authority figures study because he
questioned if Adolf s men were just following his orders, and this lead to killing of eleven million
innocent victims during the time period of the Holocaust. Milgram became enthusiastic in
researching the limit that the average person would go to obey orders from their authority figures,
even if that meant

Asch Conformity Experiment
Conformity refers to the likelihood that an individual will follow the unspoken rules or behaviors
of the social group to which they belong. In the short video clip titled Asch Conformity
Experiment , we learned that people can feel pressured into abnormal behavior because of the
unanimity of the majority. In the Asch Experiment, the majority of people involved were told to
sometimes give the wrong answers on purpose whereas only one individual taking part in the
experiment was actually a real participant. The experiment discussed in the video involved a
person s awareness of line lengths and by the third trial the participant had gone along with the
answer of the majority. It was clear he knew the correct answer and that the majority were

Analyzing The Roller Coaster Problem
Roller Coasters
The problem that I chose was the roller coaster problem. The question is, how would there be a way
to rate how amusing a roller coaster is? I picked this problem because if I were to really get
involved in the research, I would go and ride all the roller coasters myself, which sounds like a
blast. While I was either researching or riding the roller coasters, I would still have to go through
some steps.
First, I would have to define the problem, which would be how would math be used to figure out a
way to rate a roller coaster. After I knew what I was looking for, I would make assumptions about
what people like to see in a roller coaster. I would assume that most people like loops, so if it had a
loop it would get a higher

The main issue this work addresses is the probability of successfully shooting an enemy in
XCOM, an alien invasion turn based strategy game. Neil Brown, a computing education

computational mathematics. Two different methods of shooting (normal vs. rapid fire) are

The Process Of Conducting Vulnerability Assessments And...
Abstract The purpose of this report is to explain the process of conducting vulnerability assessments
and modeling threats. Vulnerability assessments are conducted to keep organizations safe from
device and network vulnerabilities. There is a process that should be followed in order to perform a
proper vulnerability assessment, if it is followed properly the organization will eliminate most if not
all vulnerabilities from their network. Modeling threats is also an important step in creating a safe
computing environment. It is a way for organizations to classify threats to their network,
applications, and devices. Classifying the threats allows an organization act accordingly when it
comes to the threats that are present on their networks. All organizations should adopt some form of
vulnerability assessment and threat modeling, this will help protect the organizations reputation as
well as its data that resides and travels through the network.

How Did The Right Of The Government Change The Power Of...
The world is always changing, people, ideas, and new rules. The way people think and what they
want in life change as they age and as new progress is made. Therefor, government should be
changed when its ideals no longer aline with that of the peoples. The right of the government to
rule over people should come from the people s approval. If people do not agree with their
governmentthey have the right to change their government. This right has changed history all over
the world. Without this right the power of the government may be in the hands of a single ruler or
monarch who has no interest in their people s wants or needs, and when this power falls into the
wrong hands the people of a country have the right to take this power away and end the trynary in
their country and give power to a more well suited government.... Show more content on

There have been many instances in history where the people have successfully caused a change in
their government. The Declaration of Independence calls on this right when they broke away from
England and formed their own government. England has also used the right to alter government
when dethroning king Charles I during the English Civil War. Charles s belief of absolute power in
a sole monarch was countered by Parliament, who won the war, wanting to rule over the English
government. Giving Parliament the power to rule over the English government was a great change
to how the country was ruled, and creating the Commonwealth of England. These are not the only
instances in which the people s power to alter the government has changed history forever, but they
are two times the people have changed their country

The Development Of The Autonomous Vehicle
The autonomous vehicle is a vehicle that can drive itself without having human input. These
vehicles are programmed with complex algorithms to mimic human behavior, but also operate on
a level of consistency that humans have a hard time replicating. As we move into a new era of
transportation, automotive vehicles are going to help change the way society operates. Why
change a system that we have been using for over one hundred years? In the automobiles of today,
we have to get in and manually give the car inputs. Since human error is natural, a lot can go
wrong when you are moving a two ton chunk of metal at alarming speeds. That is where
autonomous vehicles (AVs) help us. Over the years we have found the need to remove the human

One vital way in which autonomous vehicles will dramatically alter society is that they will have
a tremendous impact on police forces around the world, potentially cutting the need for them in
half. Much of the day to day work for police and law enforcement is to enforce traffic rules and
responding to accidents. Having autonomous vehicles would mean fewer police would be needed
for these tasks.
According to McKinsey, their projects are trying to promote that in the future, autonomous
vehicles will free up huge amounts of parking space, reduce auto accidents and allow people to
have more time to enjoy TV shows, movies and digital media. Inside of the autonomous
vehicles, the interiors will become more like living rooms, allowing people to get more sleep
while they are on their way to work. Autonomous vehicles will allow to open up new business
models and self employment opportunities. Since we will not be required to operate the vehicles,
our time in front of a computer screen will increase. People will view thirty to forty percent more
ads as commutes will become the preferred space to work. This whole drastic change from us
controlling the vehicle to a full autonomous vehicle will change today s forms of transportation and
completely boost mobility by allowing people, including the young, old, and disabled, to get around
without having to walk, without having to know how to drive, and without having to wait for a bus

The Friendships Of Friendship In The Movie, The Cars Movie
Friendships off to a rocky start in, The Cars Movie
Judging others isn t the best way to start friendship and there s no question about it. In the movie

into some trouble on the way and accidentally departs from his path there. He stumbles into a
small hick town called Radiator Springs where he destroys the roads in panic and meets the love
of his life. He is held in the junkyard for his crimes of wrecking the road which is costing him
time to get back in time for the Piston Cup. Throughout his time there he meets new people that

screenwriter Joe Ranft, uses the outcast to assert that we as humans tend to judge others that are
different from us because we are insecure about our own flaws.
Next, characters jumping to conclusions, judging and assuming things is seen throughout the
movie. It s a bad habit which affects how relationships turn out greatly. For example, when
Lightning McQueen crashed into town trying to get back to Mack, his ride to the Piston Cup in
California. McQueen crashed into the town statue and got caught on it while he kept driving. The
statue got caught on the roads and caused them to crack and crumble. Lastly McQueen crashes

Rebellion Of The Qing Government
However, due to circumstance it was clear that rebellion was the primary objective for the
Tiandihui, especially in the late 18th and 19th centuries. From 1787 1788 Tiandihui leader Lin
Shuangwen led a rebellion with Ming loyalists against the Qing government. During the time of
this uprising the Tiandihui led multiple rebellions that Ownby marks as the transformation of a
local tradition into an organization with at least regional prominence. While their rebellions were
not successful, their influence was strongly felt within the Qing government these rebellions,
primarily Lin Shuangwen s, were extremely costly for the Qing government. They also were forced
to rethink and restructure the government for Taiwan since Lin Shuangwen and his 300,000 men
occupied almost half of Taiwan at one point. Direct connections and the result of the rebellion led to
continued and more secret activity from the Tiandihui and more rebellions, such as the Zhang

Throughout the life of any man or woman north London, there is an indescribable amount of
desire to be successful. Thoughts of Lamborghini s, Ferraris, or a home on an island too foreign

Similarly, in smaller communities who is known or how many one knows indicates success.
Reputation and status is prevalent on every scale of society and in history, how someone is known
when they are not present dictates all possible misconceptions. This is seen biblically in the book
of Ecclesiastes 7:1 where it reads A good name is better than precious ointment, and day of death
better than birth . This quotation explains that one must work ten times as hard to produce a proper
name than any material possession or luxury; this is most important in the sense that when one
passes on only their reputation lives on. In addition, a famous statement from Abraham Lincoln:
Character is like a tree and reputation a shadow. The shadow is what we think of it, but the tree is
the real thing . Lincoln makes the point that everything one does should be a reflection of character
to produce a transparency between who one is viewed as by friends and family, and who they truly
are. As one moves along in life, their reputation fluctuates, how their reputation results will assist in
determining the success they exhibited in life.

The Meaning Of Jacob
The Meaning of Jacob
Jacob, a simple name, is easy to say, easy to spell, and easy to remember. Jacob comes from the
Hebrew origin, Supplanter . Supplanter means one who follows another s heel. My name fits me.
To me, Jacob means someone who is smart, funny, and outgoing. I am very smart, at least I think
so. In real life, I am not that funny, but some people think that I am funny. I am sometimes
outgoing because if I really want to be someone s friend I just go up and ask. But I love my name.
My dad wanted me to be Rocco, but my mom wouldn t allow it. On the day of my birth, my dad
was going to change it. Birth certificate in hand, he was going to change my name to Rocco, but
my mom would dislike the name and dislike my dad even more, so he kept it. But I do love my
name. My son s middle name would be Jacob if I even have a son. Jacob is a good name. It fits
who I am.
Although, I can see Jacob in a different way. In a bad way. Like There is a disturbance in the
force kind of feeling. The bad Jacob can mean things like menacing, mean, and unforgiving.
Personally, I can see how I can be one of those things. I am definitely not menacing, definitely no
unforgiving because I forgive people all the time. No one thinks that I am menacing because
everybody tells me that I don t look or sound intimidating. But I am mean. When I am angry or

Although not completed until 1851, the new defense of New York approaches was christened Fort
Schuyler in December 1845 in honor of General Philip Schuyler, the American Revolutionary War
officer whose able command of the northern army in 1777 laid the groundwork for the defeat of
the British at Saratoga. The fort was not completely garrisoned, however, until the outbreak of the
Civil War in 1863. (Hamilton, Harlan. Throgs Neck Light. 3)
The fort was built in an irregular pentagon design which is still considered one of the finest
examples of Napoleonic military architecture in existence; the Pentagon in our nation s capital is
modeled after it. It was unusual in that it was erected over a sandy foundation with little solid
rock underneath, but it never settled or sagged. The armament for it was formidable: three
hundred and twelve seacoast and garrison guns, six field pieces, and one hundred and thirty four
other heavy guns, all to be manned by a garrison of twelve hundred men. The design also provided
for a complete three hundred and sixty degree defensive pattern, thus eliminating the possibility of
land attack. During the years, muzzle loading cannons gave way to rifled cannons which in turn
were replaced by disappearing twelve inch guns. There was even a torpedo launching casemate.

My Life, Not My Choice?:
A Rhetorical Speech on the Necessity of a Lowered Voting Age Requirement Let s make

Is rain wet? Is the sun bright? Is the sky blue on a clear, cloudless day? Could the fear millions of
16 and 17 year olds feel at this very moment have been prevented if they were given the right to
vote? The answer to all those questions is yes.
At age 16, we are legally allowed to emancipate ourselves from our parents. Boom! Suddenly we
are officially adults. . . free. . . at 16. But aren t you an adult at 18? Not according to emancipated
16 year olds. At age 16, we can consent to medical and dental treatment with the same authority
as an adult. We can get a junior driver licence. We can decide which parent you wish to live with
and whether you want to visit the other one if your parents separate. We can get married. We can
drop out of high school. We can be expelled from school, whereas at a younger age our highest
level of punishment would be exclusion. We can work full time. We can get a passport without
parental consent. We can get a firearms licence.
It may seem like simple liberties being granted, but it s hard for us to understand the significance
of such seemingly simple concepts. Being allowed to purchase a firearm means we could shoot a
fireman at anyone or anything. How is it logical to grant that right to 16 year olds before granting
us the right to vote for the leader of our

the film Selma directed by Ava Du Verney, through the use of main character Martin Luther King Jr.

Kasey Rivera Reflection
According to Ray Kroc, The quality of a leader is reflected in the standards they set for
themselves . As developing leaders, do we reflected the same standards we set upon ourselves to
other? I thought I knew Kasey Rivera before asking others about her. The reflection that people
saw of Kasey was different from what she was seeing. On the surface, Kasey Rivera is an
eighteen year old college pursuing her bachelor s degree in order to success in the future.
However, there is more than just a college student in her whether it is from my perspective or others.
Strength
I view Kasey Rivera as a girl who as came a long way from what she was to who she is now. She
is not the same student that she was from high school to this present day. The process of the
construction of her true potential brings enthusiasm in Kasey. Rivera sees herself as a good
leader from the different involvement throughout her life. She has been a hardworking leader and
always have the words to communicate with others. Kasey Rivera is a go getter and not afraid to
step out of an environment s comfort zone. Her interpersonal communicational skills and people
oriented focus drives her due to her drive to improve on her leadership skills.
Weakness
On the other hand, Kasey Rivera has her flaws. Rivera s enthusiasm to improve herself comes
with stubbornness to change. She is very sensitive to feedback she receives. The sensitive
emotions do not teach her that she has to put her stubborn away. Her angry gets Kasey s best at
times. She portrays herself as lay back and lazy when in reality she is not. Rivera is does not
take some or all jokes at her lightly. Her short tempter gets the best of her and takes things out of
proportions and simply takes everything too seriously. Kasey Rivera clear mission on the future
frighten her at times. She is scared that she would not achieve her goals and dreams or disappoint
others.
Affiliation
The idiom Birds of a feather flock together is a phrase associated with affiliation. People who
have the same taste and interests are usually found together. Kasey Rivera affiliate herself with
people who are dedicated in education much like herself. She is associated with leaders in the
making as she is a part of

Mobile Wireless Network Essay
Recent progress in mobile wireless network has provided a major impulse towards the
development of self organized, self created, and rapidly deployable network architecture referred to
as Mobile Ad Hoc Networks (MANETs). Although the application area of MANETs was initially
proposed for environments of disaster recovery and battle field communications, the evolution of
the Multimedia Technology and the commercial interest of companies to reach widely civilian

Many different protocols have been proposed to support Quality of service in MANETs, each based

A Mobile Ad Hoc network is receiving attention due to several salient characteristics such as:
пЃ¶Dynamic topologies
пЃ¶Bandwidth constrained links
пЃ¶Energy constrained operation
пЃ¶Limited physical security.
Therefore the routing protocols for wired networks cannot be directly used for wireless networks.
Some examples of the possible uses of Ad Hoc networking include students using laptop
computers to participate in an interactive lecture, business associates sharing information during
a meeting, soldiers relaying information for situational awareness on the battlefield and
emergency disaster relief personnel coordinating efforts after a hurricane or earthquake. A
MANET uses multi hop routing instead of a static network infrastructure to provide network
connectivity. Several routing protocols have been proposed for MANETs. Initially, in this
work, number of ways of classification or categorization of existing routing protocols and the
survey on the performance comparison of important protocols such as AODV [2], DSR [3] and
DSDV [4] are presented. A number of researchers have done the performance analysis of Ad Hoc
Routing protocols over the years using different simulators like NS2, Qualnet, Opnet etc. From
the survey of QoS Models and Protocols of the IP network such as IntServ, DiffServ, FQMM

could manage students, lessons and classrooms to reduce the incidence of bad behaviour. This
theorist acknowledged definite teaching techniques that help, and hinder, classroom discipline.
Bestowing to Kounin, the method used, not the teacher s personality, is the most crucial aspect in
classroom managementof student behaviour. The title of his book is Discipline and Group

The result is greater when the teacher clearly names the unacceptable behaviour of the pupil and
provides the reasons why the behaviour is unacceptable. Wittiness is the second coined by Kounin,
it defines the need for the teacher to be attentive of what is going on in all parts of the classroom at
all times. Pupils need to know that the teacher is aware of what is going on in the classroom.
According to him, when pupils are off task, the teacher should send a clear message that
communicates to students the awareness that they are not working and that they need to become
engaged. The classroom applications of wittiness comprise; constantly being alert to the myriad of
sights and sounds in the classroom, spacing out the classroom so that all students are always within
eyesight, look over the room periodically when working with individuals or small groups of pupils,
when helping an individual pupil, the teacher faces the rest of the class, and briefly acknowledging
pupil misbehaviour at first discovery to let the pupil and the whole class know that the teacher is
alert. Wittiness encompasses the use of maintaining eye contact, asking individual and group
questions, continually moving around the classroom in a random fashion and specifically moving
toward impending misbehaving students, thus, redirecting students to prevent misbehaviour.( Kyla

Pros And Cons Of The North American Free Trade Agreement
The North American Free Trade Agreement, or N.A.F.T.A, was established to improve the
economy of the United States, Mexico, and Canada. It has been close to twenty three years since
the treaty was officially signed; time has given us insight into the effects that this agreement has
produced. In 1984, lowering tariff was a major discussion between Mulroney, Prime Minister of
Canada, and President Ronald Reagan. They came to an agreement in 1988 making it official for
these countries to trade more efficiently with one another. Soon enough Mexico was interested in

Real wages in Mexico have fallen significantly below pre NAFTA levels as price increases for
basic consumer goods have exceeded wage increases. A minimum wage earner in Mexico today

promises that NAFTA would benefit Mexican consumers by granting access to cheaper imported
products, the cost of basic consumer goods in Mexico has risen to seven times the pre NAFTA

Those negative effects end up hurting us in return as people are settling for less due to all the
cheap methods being used. The changes it has had on Mexico reflect the awful exploitation that is

The Between Liberty And The State
Within the study of legal philosophy, few scholars have been able to understand the dangers arising
from the complex relationship between liberty and the state to the same extent as Lord Acton.
Though mainly unpublished prior to his death, Acton s writings provoke thought surrounding
power struggles and conflicting interests in societies. It has become clearer over time that
inequality, whether institutionalised or not, ultimately provides the foundation of modern societies.
In order to counteract this and facilitate stability amongst nations, particularly in the prevention of
anarchy, many support the view that there is an inherent need to restrict the complete exercise of
free will, be it powers possessed by a public authority, or at an individual level. The principle of
self determination in the context of the state sovereignty , that being the right of a nation to conduct
itself in the absence of external influence, has assisted in alleviating some of the burdens placed
upon the human race. The state routinely exercises sovereignty over its inhabitants and distinct
territory to establish control, and in an ideal world should render a society free from oppression
from both by the state, and amongst individuals. Though the struggle to obtain liberty had
underpinned the existence of modern nations, disagreement as to its nature and scope has created a
variety of distinct perspectives regarding the limits which ought to be placed on our personal
freedoms. To wholly

U.s. War On Terrorism Essay
The United States vision of and for the world changed dramatically, and perhaps permanently, on
September 11, 2001. The aftermath frightened and impacted the nation s reputation, and in order
to measure the nature and extent of our policies, it is important to understand our efforts after this
national attack on US soil. Many interesting documents released earlier that year provides a
detailed perspective of America s economic policies and actions towards the War on Terror. The
U.S. came out with a massive debt that has impacted the nation in several ways, but this leads to a
basic question with a complex answer: How did the U.S. War on Terrorismimpact the American
Debt Crisis? After researching further into the 9/11 attacks, clearly most of the money put into
the war was wasted or misspent. Even though it was crucial going after the terrorists, especially
since they had taken many lives and were capable to repeating their attack caused fear throughout
the nation. It is important to signal out that the U.S. was attacked from a terrorist organization
that had their focus on the U.S. for a long time. The impact that this served after 9/11 plays a clear
role in defining the results of how these economic policies were taken into action. After looking
over this tragic event in the U.S. history, there should have been a very high consideration towards
how the money was going to be used in an effort to defeat terrorismbefore this event occurred. The

The Importance Of Rights In Football Rights
At any high school football game, football players take a knee on the field when either an
opponent s player or their own team player is injured. This shows respect; a gesture of self
surrender before the greater reality of human suffering . However, when it comes to an actual NFL
football game, taking the knee has a whole different concept after former San Francisco 49ers
quarterback, Colin Kaepernick took the knee at a football game during the National Anthem as a
form of protest against the racial injustice and police brutality. After the impression Kaepernick
made, half has argued that this gesture is unpatriotic and politics should be disregarded in sports
and the other half, including some other football teams, are with Kaepernick and agree with his
protest of police violence against African Americans. Although it was and still now a strong
movement, the reason behind it nowadays has become redundant and shouldn t be as relevant as
it is now. To start off, Colin Kaepernick started his movement last year around the months of
August and September. It began with him being seen sitting down during the national anthem
during preseason in August to him actually kneeling down in September; a start of a silent
protest. Kaepernick then later gave an explanation to his actions via NFL website stating, I am
not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of

A baby boy, named after his father, was introduced into the world on November 11, 1922; this day,
better known as Armistice Day, was set aside to celebrate the peace treaty signed after World War
II. The United States of America was celebrating a time of hopeful peace and prosperity. But, a

support of the Bavarian Fascist Party. Ironically, this child who was born in a time of optimistic
abundance would grow up amidst a horrible economic depression and would become a man as his
country was preparing to enter a brutal war.

1) Factor 4:
The main aim of factor 4 is to decrease the level of materials utilization and usage of human
resources to one fourth level. The Factor 4 follows a set of guidelines for comparing design options
and for evaluating the performance of buildings and their component systems. Factor 4 suggests
that for humanity to live sustainably today, we must rapidly reduce resource consumption to one
quarter of its current levels. Fortunately, the technology to accomplish Factor 4 reductions in
resource consumption already exists and requires only public policy prioritization and

Elinor would not contend, and only replied, Whoever may have been so detestably your enemy, let

of your own innocence and good intentions supports your spirits. It is a reasonable and laudable

Essay On Remodeling To Home
RENOVATING IDEAS TO INCREASE HOUSE VALUE
Whenever individuals do a house renovation, the majority of them expect to bring a good looking
value from the reselling of the house, while this may not often be the case, some elements have to
be thought about prior to one does a remodel. The most important variable has to be comparing the
cost of the remodelling compared to that of the value, this comes in handy when making a decision
no matter if the investment would be worth it. When we are performing remodeling to our homes,
our main element is always to increase the value, and below are some ideas on how the value
might be boosted.

Agatha Christie Dysgraphia
Agatha Christie Dysgraphia It was quite true and I knew and accepted it. It did not worry or
distress me. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha
Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia.
Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from
being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three
percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability.
Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math
disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process;
therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia
have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It
was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let
their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease,
there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child
with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education
services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help
children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may
include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many
teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker.
Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use
the checkbook programs companies provide (259).
Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the
symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters,
unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page
(Richards 63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia,
and symptoms may

Who Was Responsible For John F Kennedy s Assassination
We have had several President throughout our lifetime some were favored while others were
questionable, but there is no deny that JFK was one of the most loved and favored presidents of
the United States. However some people despite JFK good deed hated him, and decided to end
his life. Even if they would be locked up in prison or sentenced to death they made the choice to
end John F. Kennedylife. On November 22, 1963 the youngest president died at one pm in the
Dealey Plaza of dallas. The president arrived on a private plane named air force 1 and was
greeted by several U.S citizens and press. The president and his wife were escorted down to there

The Theme of “The Alchemist,” by Paulo Coelho Essay
The Theme of The Alchemist, by Paulo Coelho is, always follow your dreams and listen to your
heart. At the start of the novel Santiago does not know what he should do when he is confronted by
his dream. But by the end of the novel Santiago completely trusts his heart to guide him though life.
Santiago s story shows him learning and living out the theme of the novel.
I think Paulo passed on his message about following your heart quite well. Through Santiago he
showed that you must endure some hardship before you are rewarded for your efforts. I think I
will always remember Santiago s journey and the lessons he learned along the way. I enjoyed
watching Santiago grow and learn from the experiences he gained through his journey to find ...

Several years later, Santiago had enough money to journey back home but he decided he should
continue on his journey despite his past experiences. I m not sure I could do the same thing as
Santiago.
I believe that this novel was meant to be read by people who are old enough to understand different
struggles people sometimes need to endure to achieve goal. If someone were not to understand this
concept then the novel would be empty, for them.
The most interesting thing I found about the novel was the way Paulo build up Santiago s hopes
and then destroyed them. Paulo not only did this several times but he also chose to do it right
after Santiago thought he had learned a lesson about life. Most books I have read don t build up
and destroy the main characters hopes so perniciously.
I find that Santiago s journey is fairly unlikely to ever occur in real life. At the end of the novel,
Santiago digs for his treasure but finds nothing, however the one man in the world that would tell
him another place so search just so happens to be right there waiting. The odds of this happening
are very low at best. Another thing that is impossible to occur in real life is someone turning lead
into gold. This is not something that could be done.
I would defiantly recommend this book to a friend or a family member. I fervently enjoyed The
Alchemist, and I think that most people would enjoy reading about Santiago. The novel is
universal in its ability to tell a story and

Flattened Fauna by Roger M. Knutson
Book Review of Flattened Fauna
Flattened Fauna, the book all about road kill. How could one not be interested in learning more
about the flattened animals that litter our roads? I was certainly intrigued by the idea that the
study of these very dead animals actually exists. This book contains all sorts of information about
flattened fauna such as how to study it, where to study it, why flattened fauna exists, details about
the most popular and or dangerous fauna, and of course why it is studied in the first place. The
following paragraphs will give a summary of the book Flattened Fauna, what to expect of the
book, and how the book relates to furthering ones knowledge of Biology.
The author states that this book is supposed to encourage the appreciation and study of road fauna.
The author even mentions that a trip of one thousand miles presents the opportunity to see, identify,
and possibly enjoy four hundred to four thousand animals. The author encourages the reader to
think of the road as a habitat. Most animal habitats such as forests, lakes, marshes, and such have
been apart of the world for millions of years, and the new roads conveniently run through these
habitats. These new roads and highways are a relatively new part of these animals natural habitat,
but the animals still include these roads as a part of their traditional habitat. Animals have not had a
significant amount of time to adapt to this relatively new habitat. The road fauna is quite new

The Main Theme of Tennyson s The Charge of the Light...
The Main Theme of Tennyson s The Charge of the Light Brigade
From the first few lines of The Charge of the Light Brigade, Tennyson plunges you into the
poem, creating an awesome, in depth feeling of reality. His words are so powerful, that they
make you feel as if you are one of the Light Brigade. With this war language he uses he gives the
reader a feeling of heroism and bravery, an inexorable feeling.
Charge for the guns! Into the valley of death rode the six hundred. This illustrates the great irony or
war, as they are marching into the valley on a misinterpreted command. The actual command that
was given was to ret rite from the valley and not to go into it.

In verse three it exclaims that there was a;
Cannon to the right of them,
Cannon to the left of them
Cannon in front of them.
This is an audio image of bombardment, which almost allows you to hear the cannons being set off.
This draws the reader in, making them think as if they were there.
Into the jaws of Death, into the mouth of hell . In this line I have come across personification, as
the valley has been brought to life by being given human attributes. This highlights the horror,
torture and suffering the soldiers uncovered and shows the wicked darkness of war.
In verse four there is a dramatic pause, All the world wondered. This line suggests that the whole
world knew of their bravery and that they would be always remembered as heroes of their era.
Reeled from the sabre stroke, in this short line you can nearly hear the sabres slashing through the
air violently.
Shattered and sundered tells us that they were beaten, but beaten as warriors of war.
Then they rode back, but not, Not the six hundred . This statement is very emphatic and stark,
which makes the reader dwell on their unfortunate defeat.
In the next verse Tennyson uses repetition of the cannons this brings them to life and makes the
reader reflect back on the previous verse in which

The Use of the Subjunctive in Spanish
The use of the subjunctive in Spanish: A brief review Clauses are groups of words which express
an idea and contain a predicate (i.e., a conjugated verb) and a subject, although of course in
Spanish the subject is often merely indicated by the verb ending. They can be divided into two
categories: independent clauses (which make sense in and of themselves) and dependent clauses
(which need to be used with an independent clause to form a complete sentece). In general, the the
indicative, the conditional, and the imperative (command forms) are used in independent clauses;
some exceptions will be given in section I below. The subjunctive mood is found primarily in
dependent clauses, but of course the other moods can occur there as well,... Show more content on

The verb in an adverbial clauses will be in the subjunctive if the action/state in the clause is
anticipated that is, viewed as being in the future in comparison to the action/state represented by
the governing verb. The indicative is used in clauses where the action is viewed as habitual or
having been completed. Adverbial clauses are introduced by adverbial conjunctions, some of which
by their very nature always indicate something anticipatory and hence always take the subjunctive:

Italian Humanism s Role In The Italian Renaissance
Over through course of time religion has been a big part of people s life. During the 1300 there
was a sudden change in behavior and belief. The Italian started, and it caused a change in belief.
The belief of Humanism as well caring more about how they live now than the afterlife. It was the
sense of rebirth at the time, but caused a lot of problems. While the Renaissancelead Italians to
accomplish great things, in relationship to Christianity it was disrespectful to social norms.
Humanism played a huge role in the Italian Renaissance as it changed the landscape of the Italians.
The definition of Humanism is an outlook or system of thought attaching prime importance to
human rather than divine or supernatural matters. Humanist beliefs stress the potential value and
goodness of human beings, emphasize common human needs, and seek solely rational ways of
solving human problems. It relation to the Italian humanism It s the influence of behavior that
relate to the goodness of humanity as all humans are good. The Italians were influenced by the
romans because the romans have done great things even though in the views of Christian they
deserved to go to hell.
Going in depth with Christianity, The Christians believed in believing in one and only one god.
They hated the romans and their views because they were pagans and had many gods to look up
to. The Christians believe in justification by faith with that through their belief in Jesus as the Son

Individuality And Morality In A Clockwork Orange
A Clockwork Orange: Individuality, Morality, and Growing Up
Anthony Burgess s novel, A Clockwork Orange, presents a struggle between animalistic urges and
mechanistic society by way of the motif of a clockwork orange. Many would agree that a clock and
an orange share little in common other than the fact that they may both be round. However, the
organic nature of an orange combined with the precision and mechanics of a clock curiously
imitates the way people respond to everyday influences. Anthony Burgess capitalizes on the
differences between these two seemingly unrelated objects to present the connection between
morality and conformity within the confines of the novel s narrator, Alex. Throughout the three
parts of the novel, it becomes more apparent that every seemingly harmless life can be manipulated
by the clockwork of society. Alex is a young boy living in the near future, whose obsession with the
brutality of the world around him causes him to act violently. The portrayal of the character Alex as
both a protagonist and an antagonist highlights the psychological turmoil associated with
conforming to society by sacrificing either morality for individuality or individuality for morality.
The word faithful is often misinterpreted as always having a positive connotation. The dictionary
definition of faithful, adhering or true to fact, a standard, an original , can be interpreted more
widely (Dictionary.com). In the beginning of A Clockwork Orange, Alex refers to himself

The Theory Of The Existence Of A God
Theodicy of God
Men always wonder about their own existence. They ask questions that hinted an existence of a
God. Like the common questions that was probably asked by all men; who created me? , what
am I? , who am I? These questions lead to the topics on how Plato and Aristotle came up with
their different theories that supports the idea of the existence of a God. The problem here is that
we cannot know the existence of a God if there really is a God by just thinking by ourselves
because we may have the mind to think but we may also not have the capacity to think like Plato
and Aristotle from which they are the main philosophers that the Medieval philosophers like Saint
Bonaventure based their work not just by simply agreeing on the works of Aristotle or Plato but by
commenting on their works and continuing or extending what their works are. The theory of forms
by Plato indicates that there is a Primary Being that can be perceive through the use of the mind
wherein reason is the main instrument being used in order to see what you cannot perceive using
your external senses. The external sense cognition by Aristotle from which uses the five senses of
a human person which are the sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste. The world that we perceive
by the use of our external senses make us believe that there is a God that created all that we see,
smell, touch, hear, and taste. I propose to assimilate Saint Bonaventura in my paper because of my

Essay on Flat Tax
Flat Tax1
Current Tax System
The current income tax system is very complex. It is so complex; that the IRS publishes 480 tax
forms then they publish another 280 forms that explains the 480 forms. The IRS sends out eight
billion pages of forms and instructions each year, which, if laid end to end, would circle the earth
28 times. Nearly 300,000 trees are cut down each year to produce the paper on which IRS forms
and instructions are printed (Armey, Shelby). The main reasonthe tax code is so complex is the
proliferation of deductions, credits and other special preferences in the tax law. Taxpayers with
similar incomes can pay vastly different amounts in taxes because of these loopholes. This uneven

This plan eliminates all deductions and credits and there are no loopholes. It is just a simple tax
system that would supposedly treat everyone equally.
What Is a Flat Tax
The Armey Shelby flat tax plan, the Freedom and Fairness Restoration Act, scraps the entire tax
code and replaces it with a flat rate income tax that treats every taxpayer equally. The plan would
clarify the tax code, promote job and income growth, and restore fairness and integrity to the tax
system (The Doctor). The new system would be based on three principals.
1. Tax all income with no deductions except a generous allowance based on family size. Today s
complex system could be replaced by two simple, postcard size forms, one for business and one
for individuals. 2. Tax all income at one rate, applying the law equally to all taxpayers. Everyone
faces the same 17 percent rate, and the government would not punish or subsidize taxpayers on the
basis of how they earn or spend income. 3. Tax all income just once, ending the bias against
savings and investment. Capital income would be taxed on the business form to ensure compliance,
and labor income would be taxed on the individual form (Beach, Mitchell).
The Armey Shelby flat tax proposition follows each of these principles. For individuals, only the
income from wages, salaries, and pensions are taxed, then generous personal and dependent
exemptions are deducted. What is left after these deductions is

  • 2. My Experience Of Homecoming Homecoming The first time I went back home after coming to college was a rollercoaster of emotions. After arriving home I was embraced with open arms by my mom and dad. This was the first time I had seen them since being dropped off at college and I suddenly realized how much I missed them. I called every so often but being in my own home being able to talk and with them was something I hadn t ever experienced. All of my worries about homework and future exams were gone and I got to enjoy the company of my parents. At the beginning of college I constantly felt like I couldn t be myself. Coming home these feelings vanished because I was surrounded by those who loved me. After spending a few hours catching up, I went to reconnect with my high school friends. Seeing them I was flooded with nostalgia because these were the guys I had spent my life getting to know. We sat around a campfire and talked all about our college experiences each with a different story. It felt surreal because even in this short time I could tell everyone had changed. We all were more mature and in the little time we had grown slightly apart. This was hard to admit but we all could tell. Throughout the campfire we shared stories and laughed at our experiences during our first few months of college. Being back with friends was different because every so often we would text or snapchat our friends from college. You could tell we all appreciated being back but we had made a new home at our colleges. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 4. Essay On Hawaii Annexation Hawaii s annexation, was it legal and fair to the natives of the island? The proposal that Hawaii reached Statehood by a just manner has been inaccurate and presents a false interpretation of the facts. Though seized through the era of imperialism, Hawaii remained as one of the few territories unclaimed and consequently was seized swiftly. The eventual statehood of Hawaii was produced with wrongful acts because of imperial greed. The annexation of Hawaii is an unjust act because of the circumstances surrounding the illegal annexation, clear wishes of the natives, and unlawful gain of territory. The circumstances surrounding the annexation of Hawaii are often left unsaid and remain unknown by citizens of the United States. Hawaii was first annexed into the United States of America in 1898 after white settlers refused to give up control of the Hawaiian government. However, previously President Cleveland opposed annexation and retracted the annexation treated proposed to the Senate. Cleveland supported a restoration of the Hawaiian monarchy and used his administration to oppose annexation. He used James Blount to discover the views of the Hawaiian natives on annexation, ... High tensions and treaties failing, the U.S. sought to use Hawaii as a strategic gain on Spanish, by creating a strong military base in the Pacific. Advocates argued that Hawaii was needed to support American soldiers in the Philippines (Moss 18). It is required for the people of the native land to consent to being annexed into a country by Joint Resolution, but nevertheless, the appropriate procedures were ignored. These procedures were not met because of the potential economic, strategic, and imperial gain. After illegally annexing Hawaii by Joint Resolution and violating the U.S. Constitution, Hawaii ultimately became a controlled point in the U.S. s stride for imperialism ... • 5. How Did Alain Locke Enter The New Negro I chose to write about Alain Locke and the Harlem Renaissance for this paper because I caught my attention when reading about the minds of blacks at that time. His mind set of achievements, becoming a black activist during the Harlem Renaissance caught my attention because that time blacks were limited in what they could do or they were too afraid to speak their mind. His speech Enter the New Negro helped open the eyes of the many people who has come across it. His speech was meant to speak for the Black American who were scared to speak for themselves. He aimed to give a voice to those who were not brave enough to speak up. Writing my paper on Alain Locke was easier for me because although it was not my discussion board post, it was the post I felt more confident in writing about because of the helped I recently gained from Professor Carlacio about my writing. Struggling in this paper and my other discussion opened my eyes as did Alain Locke s writing did to those who read it. I ve come to realize that I needed to make a better effort to understand the context. This critical paper helped analyze more of what went on during the Harlem Renaissance and the mind of Alain Locke. Alain Locke started off speaking about how the norms have... • 7. American Culture In The Namesake, By Jhumpa Lahiri Culture is not just about race, family background, and inheritance. It is bigger than that. Characters and actor s choice are significant to present this. Characters used in the book and movie relates. When I was reading the book, I had an idea of how Ashima, Gogol, Ashoke looks. Most of those ideas were true. I thought Gogol would be better looking and darker shade skin. Ashima is exactly what I thought she would look like. Ashoke is shown as this perfect husband, dad a provider. A lot of Gogol s character is understood as it foreshadows when Gogol was six months old and during his Rice Ceremony, Gogol had to choose between a dollar, a pen, and dirt. Each represents a different profession in the future. As it suggests to the future, Gogol doesn t choose none of them and cries. We see the same thing when he is an adult, he chooses to embrace the culturehe grew up in, American Culture even thought he struggled to respect both cultures that are polar opposites of each other. The novel The Namesake written by Jhumpa Lahiri writes about the struggle and hardships of a Bengali couple who immigrate to the US from India to create a lifestyle outside of everything they have known all their lives. The story begins as Ashoke marries Ashima and brings her to the Massachusetts. Their first child s name is Gogol, which they didn t intend on naming initially but because of different mistakes, Gogol has officially become his name. • 8. The Effect Of Obedience During The Holocaust The Effects of Obedience Often, researchers wonder why obedience has such a strong effect. Some researchers say that obedience is a conscious thing; however, some researchers also say that obedience comes from the fear of authority figures. What exactly does obedience and authority mean? (Obedience, 2003) Authority is a legal or rightful power; a right to command or to act; power exercised buy a person in virtue of his office or trust; dominion; jurisdiction; authorization. (Authority, 2003) Stanley Milgram, a psychologist at Yale University, and other members of the community also questioned the nature of obedience. Milgram reflected back to the 1933 events of the Holocaust. Milgram began to question the intentions of the soldiers serving under Eichmann. Why would all those German soldiers go along with kill millions of innocent Jews, slaves, homosexuals, children, and gypsies? Were the soldiers just following the orders of Adolf Eichmann, leader of the German Army? Milgram was interested in doing the obedience to authority figures study because he questioned if Adolf s men were just following his orders, and this lead to killing of eleven million innocent victims during the time period of the Holocaust. In the Asch Experiment, the majority of people involved were told to sometimes give the wrong answers on purpose whereas only one individual taking part in the experiment was actually a real participant. • 10. Analyzing The Roller Coaster Problem Roller Coasters The problem that I chose was the roller coaster problem. The question is, how would there be a way to rate how amusing a roller coaster is? I picked this problem because if I were to really get involved in the research, I would go and ride all the roller coasters myself, which sounds like a blast. While I was either researching or riding the roller coasters, I would still have to go through some steps. First, I would have to define the problem, which would be how would math be used to figure out a way to rate a roller coaster. After I knew what I was looking for, I would make assumptions about what people like to see in a roller coaster. I would assume that most people like loops, so if it had a loop it would get a higher ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The way people think and what they want in life change as they age and as new progress is made. Therefor, government should be changed when its ideals no longer aline with that of the peoples. The right of the government to rule over people should come from the people s approval. If people do not agree with their governmentthey have the right to change their government. This right has changed history all over the world. Without this right the power of the government may be in the hands of a single ruler or monarch who has no interest in their people s wants or needs, and when this power falls into the wrong hands the people of a country have the right to take this power away and end the trynary in their country and give power to a more well suited government.... The Declaration of Independence calls on this right when they broke away from England and formed their own government. England has also used the right to alter government when dethroning king Charles I during the English Civil War. Charles s belief of absolute power in a sole monarch was countered by Parliament, who won the war, wanting to rule over the English government. Giving Parliament the power to rule over the English government was a great change to how the country was ruled, and creating the Commonwealth of England. These vehicles are programmed with complex algorithms to mimic human behavior, but also operate on a level of consistency that humans have a hard time replicating. As we move into a new era of transportation, automotive vehicles are going to help change the way society operates. Why change a system that we have been using for over one hundred years? In the automobiles of today, we have to get in and manually give the car inputs. Since human error is natural, a lot can go wrong when you are moving a two ton chunk of metal at alarming speeds. One vital way in which autonomous vehicles will dramatically alter society is that they will have a tremendous impact on police forces around the world, potentially cutting the need for them in half. Much of the day to day work for police and law enforcement is to enforce traffic rules and responding to accidents. Having autonomous vehicles would mean fewer police would be needed for these tasks. According to McKinsey, their projects are trying to promote that in the future, autonomous vehicles will free up huge amounts of parking space, reduce auto accidents and allow people to have more time to enjoy TV shows, movies and digital media. Inside of the autonomous vehicles, the interiors will become more like living rooms, allowing people to get more sleep while they are on their way to work. Autonomous vehicles will allow to open up new business models and self employment opportunities. Since we will not be required to operate the vehicles, our time in front of a computer screen will increase. People will view thirty to forty percent more ads as commutes will become the preferred space to work. This whole drastic change from us controlling the vehicle to a full autonomous vehicle will change today s forms of transportation and completely boost mobility by allowing people, including the young, old, and disabled, to get around without having to walk, without having to know how to drive, and without having to wait for a bus or train. On the surface, Kasey Rivera is an eighteen year old college pursuing her bachelor s degree in order to success in the future. However, there is more than just a college student in her whether it is from my perspective or others. Strength I view Kasey Rivera as a girl who as came a long way from what she was to who she is now. She is not the same student that she was from high school to this present day. She has been a hardworking leader and always have the words to communicate with others. Kasey Rivera is a go getter and not afraid to step out of an environment s comfort zone. Her interpersonal communicational skills and people oriented focus drives her due to her drive to improve on her leadership skills. Weakness On the other hand, Kasey Rivera has her flaws. Rivera s enthusiasm to improve herself comes with stubbornness to change. She is very sensitive to feedback she receives. The sensitive emotions do not teach her that she has to put her stubborn away. Her angry gets Kasey s best at times. She portrays herself as lay back and lazy when in reality she is not. The Between Liberty And The State Within the study of legal philosophy, few scholars have been able to understand the dangers arising from the complex relationship between liberty and the state to the same extent as Lord Acton. Though mainly unpublished prior to his death, Acton s writings provoke thought surrounding power struggles and conflicting interests in societies. It has become clearer over time that inequality, whether institutionalised or not, ultimately provides the foundation of modern societies. In order to counteract this and facilitate stability amongst nations, particularly in the prevention of anarchy, many support the view that there is an inherent need to restrict the complete exercise of free will, be it powers possessed by a public authority, or at an individual level. The principle of self determination in the context of the state sovereignty , that being the right of a nation to conduct itself in the absence of external influence, has assisted in alleviating some of the burdens placed upon the human race. The state routinely exercises sovereignty over its inhabitants and distinct territory to establish control, and in an ideal world should render a society free from oppression from both by the state, and amongst individuals. • 35. U.s. War On Terrorism Essay The United States vision of and for the world changed dramatically, and perhaps permanently, on September 11, 2001. The aftermath frightened and impacted the nation s reputation, and in order to measure the nature and extent of our policies, it is important to understand our efforts after this national attack on US soil. Many interesting documents released earlier that year provides a detailed perspective of America s economic policies and actions towards the War on Terror. The U.S. came out with a massive debt that has impacted the nation in several ways, but this leads to a basic question with a complex answer: How did the U.S. War on Terrorismimpact the American Debt Crisis? After researching further into the 9/11 attacks, clearly most of the money put into the war was wasted or misspent. Even though it was crucial going after the terrorists, especially since they had taken many lives and were capable to repeating their attack caused fear throughout the nation. It is important to signal out that the U.S. was attacked from a terrorist organization that had their focus on the U.S. for a long time. The impact that this served after 9/11 plays a clear role in defining the results of how these economic policies were taken into action. After looking over this tragic event in the U.S. history, there should have been a very high consideration towards how the money was going to be used in an effort to defeat terrorismbefore this event occurred. This shows respect; a gesture of self surrender before the greater reality of human suffering . However, when it comes to an actual NFL football game, taking the knee has a whole different concept after former San Francisco 49ers quarterback, Colin Kaepernick took the knee at a football game during the National Anthem as a form of protest against the racial injustice and police brutality. After the impression Kaepernick made, half has argued that this gesture is unpatriotic and politics should be disregarded in sports and the other half, including some other football teams, are with Kaepernick and agree with his protest of police violence against African Americans. Although it was and still now a strong movement, the reason behind it nowadays has become redundant and shouldn t be as relevant as it is now. To start off, Colin Kaepernick started his movement last year around the months of August and September. It began with him being seen sitting down during the national anthem during preseason in August to him actually kneeling down in September; a start of a silent protest. Kaepernick then later gave an explanation to his actions via NFL website stating, I am not going to stand up to show pride in a flag for a country that oppresses black people and people of color (SBNation). Kurt Vonnegut s Personal Experiences THESIS STATEMENT Kurt Vonnegut s personal experiences of World War II and the firebombing of Dresden were important factors in determining his writing style and the political and philosophical views that it conveyed. But, a world away, a young German soldier named Adolf Hitler was rising to power and gaining the support of the Bavarian Fascist Party. Ironically, this child who was born in a time of optimistic abundance would grow up amidst a horrible economic depression and would become a man as his country was preparing to enter a brutal war. • 46. Agatha Christie Dysgraphia Agatha Christie Dysgraphia It was quite true and I knew and accepted it. It did not worry or distress me. I was always resigned to being the slow one (ResearchGate). This is what Agatha Christie said one day when she realized she had a very serious disease, now known as dysgraphia. Christie s dysgraphiacaused her many challenges in her lifetime, but it never stopped her from being an amazing, bestselling novelist. In the United States, anywhere from five to thirty three percent of elementary children deal with some level of dysgraphia (Adam), a writingdisability. Other names for dysgraphia include backwards writing, developmental output failure, and math disability (Siegel). When a child has dysgraphia, there is a problem with the writing process; therefore, the children have trouble writing (Richards 63). Some of the victims of dysgraphia have trouble forming letters, while others can form letters but not very quickly (Paquette 88). It was once said, As students struggle with the process, they become preoccupied and can t let their ideas flow onto the page (89). Although there are many devices to help with the disease, there are very few ways to overcome dysgraphia. One of the tools one can use to help a child with dysgraphia is graphic organizers. Another tool someone can use is special education services in the school. Most schools offer very good special education services which can help children with many challenges, including dysgraphia (91). Other tools commonly used may include a spell checker (93), word prediction software, and text to speech tools (259). Many teachers also suggest keeping a list of commonly misspelled words and having a note taker. Teachers may also use oral tests instead of written tests to eliminate stress (93). One can also use the checkbook programs companies provide (259). Dysgraphia is caused by an issue between two main brain systems (Paquette 89). Some of the symptoms of dysgraphia may include cramped fingers, inconsistent formations and slants to letters, unfinished cursive writing, decreased speed of writing, and poor organization on the page (Richards 63). There are five different kinds of dysgraphia. The first is known as motor dysgraphia, and symptoms may ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

However, the organic nature of an orange combined with the precision and mechanics of a clock curiously imitates the way people respond to everyday influences. Anthony Burgess capitalizes on the differences between these two seemingly unrelated objects to present the connection between morality and conformity within the confines of the novel s narrator, Alex. Throughout the three parts of the novel, it becomes more apparent that every seemingly harmless life can be manipulated by the clockwork of society. Alex is a young boy living in the near future, whose obsession with the brutality of the world around him causes him to act violently. The portrayal of the character Alex as both a protagonist and an antagonist highlights the psychological turmoil associated with conforming to society by sacrificing either morality for individuality or individuality for morality. The word faithful is often misinterpreted as always having a positive connotation. The dictionary definition of faithful, adhering or true to fact, a standard, an original , can be interpreted more widely (Dictionary.com). Like the common questions that was probably asked by all men; who created me? , what am I? , who am I? These questions lead to the topics on how Plato and Aristotle came up with their different theories that supports the idea of the existence of a God. The problem here is that we cannot know the existence of a God if there really is a God by just thinking by ourselves because we may have the mind to think but we may also not have the capacity to think like Plato and Aristotle from which they are the main philosophers that the Medieval philosophers like Saint Bonaventure based their work not just by simply agreeing on the works of Aristotle or Plato but by commenting on their works and continuing or extending what their works are. The theory of forms by Plato indicates that there is a Primary Being that can be perceive through the use of the mind wherein reason is the main instrument being used in order to see what you cannot perceive using your external senses. The external sense cognition by Aristotle from which uses the five senses of a human person which are the sight, touch, smell, hearing, and taste. The world that we perceive by the use of our external senses make us believe that there is a God that created all that we see, smell, touch, hear, and taste. I propose to assimilate Saint Bonaventura in my paper because of my elaboration about ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is so complex; that the IRS publishes 480 tax forms then they publish another 280 forms that explains the 480 forms. The IRS sends out eight billion pages of forms and instructions each year, which, if laid end to end, would circle the earth 28 times. Nearly 300,000 trees are cut down each year to produce the paper on which IRS forms and instructions are printed (Armey, Shelby). This plan eliminates all deductions and credits and there are no loopholes. It is just a simple tax system that would supposedly treat everyone equally. What Is a Flat Tax The Armey Shelby flat tax plan, the Freedom and Fairness Restoration Act, scraps the entire tax code and replaces it with a flat rate income tax that treats every taxpayer equally. The plan would clarify the tax code, promote job and income growth, and restore fairness and integrity to the tax system (The Doctor). The new system would be based on three principals. 1. Tax all income with no deductions except a generous allowance based on family size. Today s complex system could be replaced by two simple, postcard size forms, one for business and one for individuals. 2. Tax all income at one rate, applying the law equally to all taxpayers. Everyone faces the same 17 percent rate, and the government would not punish or subsidize taxpayers on the basis of how they earn or spend income. 3. Tax all income just once, ending the bias against savings and investment. Capital income would be taxed on the business form to ensure compliance, and labor income would be taxed on the individual form (Beach, Mitchell). The Armey Shelby flat tax proposition follows each of these principles. For individuals, only the income from wages, salaries, and pensions are taxed, then generous personal and dependent exemptions are deducted. What is left after these deductions is ...
