The American Of Canadian Foreign Relations
Over the course of history Canada has engaged in social, political, economic and cultural relations
with various countries. Managing relationships and foreign policy are key elements in Canadian
foreign policy. These relationships and policies have taken many different shapes and forms as
expected, and thus, the history of Canadian foreign relations is a significant part of Canada s identity
as a nation today. In particular, one aspect that is often analyzed on this topic is the how the Americans
failed to conquer Canada. One can only imagine how different Canada would be if certain battles
favoured the Americans. It is evident, that the Americans failure to conquer Canada was a result of
poor war tactics and military conduct at crucial points in time. The Americans were not fully prepared
to conquer Canada as a whole, and underestimated the Canadians in terms of their war capabilities,
loyalty and readiness for war. The Americans also naively believed they could take advantage and
attack the British during the American Revolution.
An important period to consider is 1775 1783 where crucial battles and victories emerged for Canada
against the Americans. In December of 1975, the Americans decided to attack Quebec, what is known
and referred to as the Battle of Quebec in the American Revolutionary War. The purpose or motive of
the invasion was to incorporate Quebec into the thirteen colonies. This would ultimately prove to be a
failure for the Americans, which is discussed

Parable In The Gospel Of Luke
In the gospel of Luke, stories are often told with a context in order to better understand Jesus
teachings. For example in Luke 16, Jesus uses a parable in order to explain why it is hard to be faithful
when one is rich. He tells the story of a man who was very rich and a poor beggar named Laz arus,
who would lay outside the rich man s house and ask for scraps from the rich man s table. However,
both die one day; Laz arus goes to heaven while the rich man goes to hell. Abraham, who is also in
heaven, then explains to the rich man why he is in hell; Remember that you in your lifetime received
your good things, and Laz arus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are
in anguish (Luke 16:25). In context, this story

How to Die in Oregon
How to Die in Oregon
Portland, USA, 107 Min., 3/13/12 9PM (Watched online) How to Die in Oregon is an emotionally
charged, and intimate exploration of the controversial Death with Dignity Law passed in the state of
Oregon in 1994. How to Die in Oregon received the Grand Jury Prize in the U. S. Documentary
Competition at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, along with other countless accolades, and is
currently available as an HBO Original Film. In his film, filmmaker Peter Richardson, employs the
observational mode of documentary to witness how patients families and friends grapple with the
legal option of physician assisted suicide. In exploring the complexities surrounding this topic,
Richardson interviews doctors on both sides of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Richardson produced, directed and captured all the footage himself. The end result is a multitude of
powerful one on one interviews, archival footage of patients, and candid long takes. Richardson cuts
himself out of the interviews, and edits together strikingly frank sound bytes to showcase his subjects
talking about death and the affect of the law. His use of archival footage primarily captures his patients
when they were healthy, and provides a striking contrast as they seriously discuss death towards the
end of their lives. His use of candid long takes captures some of the most poignant moments of the
film, including the final minutes of one man s life after taking the lethal drugs. The camera is a
spectator in the room, as the man accompanied by his family; all face his personal decision to die
together. All of these different footage types work together to provide emotional weight to an already
troubling subject.
2) Richardson s non interventionist style is a prime example of observational documentary, and works
specifically well in capturing and promulgating the subject of death. According to Nichols,
observational documentaries started appearing in the 1960 s as result of more mobile and smaller
equipment. Furthermore, observational documentary stresses non intervention, as filmmakers
objectively observe indirect speech, candidness in the form of long takes, and create a world out of
historical reality not fabricated with

International Students Information-Seeking Behaviors
Journal Article 1
Sara Jackson
Liberty University Summary Cho and Lee (2016) created a study to find out how international
students that attended colleges in the United States sought out information on the correct behaviors of
life on college campuses. Considering the continuous increase of international students, the main goal
of this study was to investigate how international students information seeking behaviors directly and
indirectly impacted communication satisfaction with instructors and school life satisfaction (Cho Lee,
2016, p.597). The researchers had to become familiar with cultural backgrounds of the students. This
was an important variable to understand which provided light as to why certain students acted the

I am a firm believer that as teacher we most know all of our students backgrounds. As Jones and Jones
state, ...it is absolutely essential that you understand your students beliefs and values about learning
and personal relationships and that you incorporate them into your decision making (Jones Jones,
2016, p.23). Teachers cannot treat all students the same way. Even if your students are not from
another country it is important to treat their beliefs and values equally. I do not want to offend any
student or parents by assuming that I know how all students should act and respond in a situation. Do
nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than
yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others
(Philippians 2:3 4). This is an appropriate verse for my discussion. It represents everything you need
to know about treat people. Think of others and do not assume everyone is the same. This is made
possible by knowing others and their beliefs and

How Advertising Is A Strong Force Or A Weak Force
In this essay i will go cover some of the theories that try to explain how advertising works, and i will
try decide whether advertising is a strong force or a weak force.
Advertising works. If a product is not advertised consumers will be completely unaware of its
existence, and products with more and better advertising are more likely to sell better than their
competitors. Is this because advertising persuades them into buying products or does advertising
simply help consumers validate their purchases making them more likely to buy again?
Advertising can inform and influence consumers, it can also support and confirm their purchases and
attitudes. To influence a consumer into purchasing a product suggests advertising is a strong force
compelling action, whereas support and confirmation suggest weaker force simply facilitating choice
.
The Lavidge and Steiner s hierarchy of effects model (1961) was developed to show the process of
how advertising works.
Lavidge and Steiner believed that advertising is a long term process that moves consumers over time
through a series of six stages. It is based on the classic hierarchy of effects structure; cognition
(thinking), affect (feeling), and conation (doing)[2]. Lavidge and Steiner s model breaks these three
stages down starting with:
Awareness (cognitive/thinking): a customer who is completely unaware of the product becomes aware
of its existence.
Knowledge (cognitive/thinking): The consumer learns about the products

Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy ( Dmd )
Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Genetic Disorder
Introduction to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy
Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is one of many types of muscular dystrophy disorders, which
affect the muscle fibers. It is the most aggressive form of muscular dystrophy. The muscle fibers
gradually become weaker and incapacitate the affected individual. DMD is a recessive, fatal, X linked
disorder occurring at a frequency of about 1 in 3,500 new born males (NCBI, 2014). Males are more
susceptible to inherit this disorder because DMD is passed on through the X chromosome. Women can
be carriers of the disorder without any adverse affects. The female carrier has a 50% chance of passing
on this trait to an offspring. It is extremely rare that a female will have DMD. Symptoms of this
disorder include muscle weakness that starts at the legs and progresses at a fast rate though out the
body. The rapid progression of muscular dystrophy means that the inflicted individual will eventually
be confined to a wheelchair in their life time. Wheelchair dependency had a median age of 10 years
(OMIM, 2013). Other symptoms include degraded motor skills as well as learning disabilities. As
muscle mass diminishes the individual suffers from heart and lung complications eventually leading to
the persons death. Death occurred at a median age of 17 years (OMIM, 2013). The X linked inherited
disease is cased by a mutation in the DNA segment of the X chromosome in the DMD (P11532) gene.

Child Labour in Pakistan
Background Child Labour is a condemnable phenomenon and elimination of child labour is a feasible
objective. It must be eradicated altogether, for democratic and healthy growth of the society. Children
should grow into adulthood through love and care, education and training. Health of the society
depends upon the physical, moral and spiritual development of its children. The awareness of the
problem provided basis for the enactment of the Employment of Children Act, 1991 followed by a
number of administrative and other initiatives to address the issue of child labour effectively. Struggle
against child labour gained further momentum when Pakistan s trade privileges were adversely

National Action Plan for Elimination of Child Labour is based on an integrated approach and will be
implemented by actions at the federal level, provincial level and district and local level. The National
Action Plan aims at reaching the target children in phased manner through various short and long term
strategies. The short term strategies include awareness raising; development and dissemination of
information; community mobilization; situation analysis, establishment of monitoring and evaluation
system; withdrawal of children from exploitative labour on priority basis; and special protection to the
most vulnerable groups of child labour. The measures that would take a long run to achieve the
inherent objectives include, universalization of primary education, full implementation of the law;
empowerment of families/poverty alleviation; expansion of social safety net, etc. Education and skill
development of working children; institutional capacity building; and strengthening of inspection
services are among some of the medium term strategies. Realizing that measures under the proposed
action plan shall remain limited, the feasibility of introducing Youth Apprenticeship Scheme will be
prepared. The Scheme would be intended to notify selected workshops

Why The Fries Taste Good By Michael Pollan Analysis
Pollan and McCorkle Synthesis with Schlosser Michael Pollan, writer of Eat Food: Food Defined and
Her Chee to Heart author Jill McCorkle are both aware of the unhealthy nature of processed foods, but
Pollan would scold McCorkle for succumbing to the processed food s appeal because he discredits the
category food product as actual food; there is nothing about McCorkle s relationship to food that
Pollan will agree with. These nonfiction articles take different stances on food in the twenty first
century. Pollan s approach is to warn consumers about processed foods and to guide them into a
healthier lifestyle while McCorkle describes her junk food addiction with stories that highlight the
artificial foods people are so quick to love. Eric Schlosser s Why the Fries Taste Good is the third
article connected to Pollan and McCorkle s; his writing explains why processed food is so bad but also
provides an explanation as to why it is appealing. McCorkle and Pollan will never see eye to eye when
it comes to what kind of food people should be eating. While Pollan urges consumers to stay away
from the enticing products foods at all costs, McCorkle welcomes junk food as it is an integral part of
her life. The way they shop for food is completely opposite. Pollan argues that the best place to buy
fresh produce and organic meat is a farmer s market, but McCorkle s short lived trip to the all natural

Loss Of Freedom In Margaret Garner s Beloved

It is a proven fact that ...San Diego County itself has more [Native American] reservations than any
other county in the United States (Burelle 100). However, despite the fact that UCSD is built on
Native Kumayaad ancestral soil, the university has a dismally low enrollment rate of students of
Native American origins. The absence of Native American presence in San Diego County quickly
draws attention to the social and cultural status that Native Americans hold in the United States; their
dignity and heritage are largely forgotten and overlooked by the dominant American culture (Burelle

Plots In The Movie Adaptation Of Ender s Game
Destruction of Planets and Plots in the Movie Adaptation of Ender s Game
Movie adaptations are more frequent than ever before in today s society. Sometimes, they are held in a
higher respect than movies not based on books, especially by those who love books. When a movie
adaptation is watched by someone who read the book, the reader has major and specific plot points in
mind that need focus, and when those points are not hit, there seems to be an uproar among the
community. With Ender s Game, there were mixed reviews. Many disliked how some of the magic
seen in the book was lost in translation. Some didn t seem to like how characters were presented or
how certain things were brought up with no detail, or not brought up at all. In the movie adaptation of
Ender s Game, Orson Scott Card s original idea of Andrew Ender Wiggin, a child genius, becoming a
commander of an army in efforts to save the world remains, but with Card s intense adventure and
genius depth nearly obliterated from the motion picture, the movie underwhelms with its inabilities to
portray the interesting science fiction story in whole.
The movie adaptation of Ender s Game avoids portraying as much child violence as the novel. Clearly
addressed several times in the book, Ender worries about becoming a killer, like his brother Peter, yet
he continues to inflict pain as if he forgot about attempting to avoid the seemingly inevitable:
becoming malleable by surrounding influences. However, the movie plays Ender

The French people responded immediately by raising money through public funding and various
forms of entertainment. However, the law of France only permitted lotteries for charitable and artistic
causes, of which the Statue of Liberty qualified under both. Consequently, it was decided that a lottery
be organized to boost the fund. Gounod, a famous composer wrote a song to the statue that he
presented at the Paris Opera, and the money raised funded the project. Unfortunately, they realized
that the anticipated cost of building the Statue was much more than the available funds. Never the less,
the French government was not involved in any fund raising. On the other hand, the Americans
received the information about the statue construction before they got appeal for funds. The reluctance
on the American side delayed the building of the pedestal. Possible reasons for lack of interest were
that the project may not be completed, others though the statue was a New York City project and not
national in character. Others argued about its location. The only accomplishment made by 1876 was
the exhibition of the completed right arm and torch of the statue at Centennial Exposition in
Philadelphia and later Madison Square in New York City. While all this was going on, the French
completed the head and shoulders of the statue and placed them on public exhibition to encourage

August Wilson Fences Literary Devices
New Criticism is an unusual and dying theory in this generation. In today s age, people analyze and
rate a piece of text on impact it has on the individual person or society. New Criticism eliminates
feelings, ratings and the impact a piece of had but rather focuses on the text itself. New Criticism,
incorporating Formalism, examines the relationships between a text s ideas and its form, between
what a text says and the way it says it. New Critics may find tension, irony, or paradox in this relation,
but they usually resolve it into unity and coherence of meaning (Biddle 100). Many theorist call this
the science of literature because it focuses on vocabulary, sound, imagery, narrative structure, point of

problem that surfaces from these self illusions is Troy s inability to accept the decisions of others. He

Objective Racism
Objective Racism:
An essay on how segregation affected the USA, and its lingering effect on the nation
The United States of America is one of the best countries in the world. The country considers its start
as a nation to be 1776, and since then, America has stood for freedom all around the world. The USA
has had military supremacy for years; considered one of the only superpowers in the world currently.
Most importantly, however, is that it is a melting pot of different ethnic groups and cultures. Sadly,
most places in America do not contain this important standard of no prejudice. After the Plessy v.
Ferguson case, subtle racism became more abundant throughout the south, and although the
government resolved main problem in the 60 s, racism still abides on both ends today. In 1863,
President Abraham Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation. This act freed thousands of slaves,
and enacted the abolition of slavery after the north won the Civil War. In turn, legislation passed many
amendments prohibiting any discrimination of blacks. In 1883, the Supreme Court ruled against this
amendment, they ruled that, The 14th Amendment did not give Congress authority to prevent
discrimination by private individuals. So when the states got the power to decide, most states decided
to pass laws known as Jim Crow laws. These laws segregated blacks and whites in almost all ways of
life, from schools to railroad carts. In 1892, Homer Plessy, a mixed man, sat in a white

Poverty And Its Effects On America
When most people think of poverty they think of somewhere overseas, however; poverty is a lot closer
to home than one might think. The winding, twisting roads of Eastern Kentucky have picturesque
scenery, but many of the people here are struggling in these hills. The people of Eastern Kentucky
have been dependent on the coal industry to feed their families and pay their bills, but this once
thriving industry has been on the decline in recent years. Without coal, Eastern Kentucky is facing a
grim future and many of its residents are struggling with the effects of losing one of their main
employment opportunities. Many people in this region face poverty every day and with the prospects
grim, poverty is an ongoing issue. According to Merriam Webster, poverty is defined as the state of
one who lacks a usual or socially acceptable amount of money or material possessions. If you drive
through many of the towns that dot the Appalachians, you will see abandoned buildings, dilapidated
homes with trash littering the front yard all just commonplace in this area. Poverty is evident wherever
you turn in these communities. Clay County is just one struggling area of the Appalachians. Here the
median income is $22,296, barely above the poverty line. 12.7 % of Clay County s residents are
unemployed, all scary statistics; since this is coal country (Lowrey, Annie).Without coal bringing in

preservative are cheaper and therefore better for the company s budget. Although, organic ingredients
and foods would be more expensive, and because of this, we have the ultimate question: what is your

While there are benefits in preservatives in order to preserve shelf life, these preservatives could also
negatively impact your vital organs causing decline in their functions. Are preservatives and additives
like this helping or hindering? Even foods which most would consider to be preservative free and
healthy often contains those additives. Take salad as an example, most Americans consider it a healthy
lunch. But it does not cross the average American s mind that something supposedly healthy such as
salad would bring issues due to the preservatives that were once present in them. Anastasia Toufexis,
Time Magazine author, informs us that sulfites were put in salads and vegetables to keep them from
wilting and discoloring. However, in the 1980s, the FDA took control and limited the intake of sulfites
by mandating that foods containing more than 10 parts per million of sulfites must list this information
on the food label. (Robin) The FDA has yet to ban them, they simply require food companies to list
them on the label. Currently, most Americans also see the protein foods or meal replacement shakes
they eat after working out or to lose weight as healthy; however, most of these are also full of
preservatives. Men s Fitness focuses on the food that people eat it without thinking because it says it is
meant to help fitness. People are unaware that the majority of the ingredients in health foods are still

The Grimm Brothers And The Brothers
Throughout history, many stories are handed down generation to generation. When the brothers, Jacob
and Wilhelm Grimm, started to publish a different type of story that depicted ordinary characters that
overcame tough situations through supernatural and violent means, it caught attention among the
people. These stories portrayed characters that not only possessed abnormal characteristics, but also
had the lives of their adversaries end rather abruptly. The Grimm brothers collected extensively on
fairy tales depicting violent behavior that were directed to be read to the children of that time which in
turn gave a whole new meaning the term fairy tale.
In a 2012 article, Cavendish provides some basic information regarding the Grimm brothers various
works. Their first published volume of Kinder und Hausmärchen was released in 1812, which
included a total of 86 short stories. They then went on to release a second volume in 1814 and
gathered an additional 70 stories to incorporate. Eventually, many more editions were published and
after including additional stories as well as subtracting some, the translated English version became
known as Grimm s Fairy Tales (p. 8).
Short stories often begin with the death of another human being. Using Cinderella as an example,
Cinderella mourns when her mother tragically dies early on in the story. In a 2000 article, Hohr
discusses how one of the main problems that Cinderella has to face is the loss of her mother and how

The Price Of The Penny
The Penny is essentially a vital part of our money system. There has been many speculation about
whether or not the United States should abolish the penny from being minted any longer. Although the
penny has been a part of the American culture since 1787, it has such a small value, it will always be a
part of American history. So as the years go on we should realize that the penny is everything to the
United States. The penny should not be eliminated from the money system due to the fact that it is a
part of the American culture and has earned its respect over the years.
In America, there is still a debate if the penny should be eliminated. If it was to be eliminated it would
still be used, but in a minimal way. In Canada, the Canadian penny was eliminated due to cost, time,
and the country believed it was a waste of money, inflation reduced its purchasing power by 95%
since it was first minted domestically in 1908: back then the cent could buy goods of the cost of $0.20,
today in other words. (The Economist). Once a small coin can no longer be used to buy individual
items at that price, but it is only used to make change, it becomes more trouble than it is worth.
Canadian pennies cost 1.6 Canadian cents to manufacture, and the government expected to save $11
million a year by eliminating them (The Economist). But that sum equivalent to 0.0006% of GDP is
small change. Canadians feel that eliminating pennies is that their feeble purchasing power means

An Examination of Festinger s Cognitive Dissonance Theory...
An Examination of Festinger s Cognitive Dissonance Theory and Notable Modifications
Sometimes the greatest test of a theory is its longevity. Over time, some theories will be disproved,
some will be modified, and some will become the basis for a whole new group of theories. Leon
Festinger s theory of cognitive dissonance has stood up to challenge for over forty years, and is
considered by many to be the single most important theory of social psychology. Though there have
been modifications to the theory after many recreations and simulations of the original 1957
experiment, few have been able to really disqualify Festinger s findings. It would be safe to say that
many people don t even have a full grasp of the incredible ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In conclusion, Festinger found that the subjects who were paid one dollar actually came to believe that
the experiment was enjoyable, as opposed to those who were paid twenty dollars. Incredible? Simple.
The subjects who were paid twenty dollars have all the justification in the world for their actions, but
the subjects who were only paid one dollar have reacted to the dissonance created by telling the lie for
such a small price, and have actually led themselves to believe that the task was enjoyable to improve
their self esteem in regards to the lie.
Festinger concluded that over time dissonance would change attitudes. For example, cigarette smokers
know that it is unhealthy to smoke, but they created an attitude to justify why they continue to smoke.
If I quit smoking now, I will gain weight. I only smoke when I am drinking. I only smoke after a meal.
But the dissonance theory is applicable to much bigger social opinions than smoking, for example:
Aronson and Mills (1959) conducted an experiment in which some subjects were put through a harsh
period of hazing during initiation into a group while other subjects had to endure only mild hazing.
The end result was that the people who went through the sever initiation ended up liking that group a
lot better than those who went through mild hazing. Going against the reinforcement theory (Aronson,

The Action For Declaratory Relief
One such instance where a declaratory judgment does not generally serve a useful purpose or
terminate controversy is where there is another action pending in a different courts involving the same
issues. Indeed, generally courts will not entertain a declaratory judgment action if there is pending, at
the time of the commencement of the action for declaratory relief, another action or proceeding
involving the same parties and in which the identical issues that are involved in the declaratory action
may be adjudicated. Waicker v. Colbert, 347 Md. 108, 113 (1997). This rule rests on the principle that,

Denmead, 22 Md. 135, 145 (1864) (quoting Brooks, supra, 1 Md. Ch. 351). This rule survives in the
context of a declaratory judgment action out of recognition that the declaratory judgment is
distinguishable from other judgments because courts are empowered to adjudicate upon disputed legal
rights whether or not further relief is or could be claimed. Edwin M. Borchard, The Uniform
Declaratory Judgments Act, 18 Minn. L. Rev. 239 (1934). In order for declaratory judgments to retain
the procedural requisites of justiciability: two principal criteria guid[e] the policy of rendering
declaratory judgments . . . (1) when the judgement will serve a useful purpose in clarifying and
settling the legal relations in issue, and (2) when it will terminate and afford relief from the
uncertainty, insecurity, and controversy giving rise to the proceeding. It follows that when neither of
these results can be accomplished, the court should decline to render the declaration prayed.
Id. at 265. Pursuant to these principles, Maryland Courts have generally held that the practical
purposes of the declaratory judgment are ill served when a court makes a declaration while an action
involving similar issues are pending before another court.

Hurricane Katrina Ethical Issues
Hurricane Katrina was one of the most deadliest natural disasters in the history of the United States of
America. At least 1,245 people in the hurricane and subsequent flooding. In reading the excerpt from
Five Days at Memorial: Life and Death in a Storm Ravaged Hospital by Sheri Fink, there are certain
ethical and legal issues that arise and ones that holds all those medical and health professionals
accountable for their actions. Dr. Ana Pou was one of the head doctors who took a leadership role at
Memorial Hospital after the backup generators had failed and the rescue teams were few and far
between. A team of medical personnel which included Dr. Pou had categorized the remaining patients
into an evacuating category. They felt that the most sick patients would be evacuated last because of
available resources and essentially decided who would live and who would die. Dr. Pou denies her
actions and states that she did what she felt was the right thing to do? But as Sherri Finks poses the
question in her article where is the line between comfort care and mercy killings .

responsibility for nursing practice; makes decisions; and takes action consistent with the obligation to

Blended Family Relationships
stepfamilies may sometimes have lack of parental warmth and negative interactions, which leads to
disruptiveness and/or antisocial behaviors. It takes time for the adolescent to adjust to the loss of a
parent in a household.
Adolescents will experience their custodial parent being unavailable, which makes the adolescent feel
like they have no parental support. Also, they will deal with stress not only from the divorce but from
remarrying. The adolescent who has a relationship with a non parental adult, friends, or an attachment
to school may counterpoise a stressful environment. Researchers found that girls are more likely to
confide in friends about their situation at home. Boys tend to spend time with their friends without
sharing what is on their mind, or spend time by themselves. Building a relationship with others as such
as neighbors will increase the chance of the adolescent not having a negative outcome. Adolescents in
divorced or blended families will be more likely to experience negative outcomes, because of the lack
of parental support (Rodgers Rose, 2002).

their achievement of LO to guide the learning process which informs my decision about the next stage

I use this method in consultation with the learner and we create a plan around the best way of
performing it. Benefits Marking can be fast but some standardisation of interview procedure is needed
to ensure reliability and validity. Can be useful to check the ownership of evidence to ensure that
students are familiar with things that other forms of assessment indicate that they have learned well.
Virtually no scope for plagiarism Can provide a free exchange of ideas on a topic Generally used
supported by other assessment methods Allows for description, evaluation and reflection Structured
discussion allows for gaps to be covered The authenticity (ownership) of the product is not without
doubt Disadvantages Can be too leading Can be disjointed; learners need preparation time to ensure
logical flow of ideas A criticism could be that it tests communication, understanding, and capacity to
think quickly under pressure. Oral work can be less stressful for some students Cultural and individual
difference can result in some candidates underperforming when asked questions by figures of
authority. Not suitable for assessing large amounts of subject knowledge and understanding as it not
supposed to be a memory test. It is best utilised to plug knowledge gaps that have occurred in other
areas of assessment.

Water Dissolving Lab
While looking at the results, I noticed that the cold temperature solution glowed for the longest time
with an average of 14.5 minutes. The room temperature solution was next with an average of 13.5
minutes. Finally, the warm temperature glowed for the shortest amount of time with an average of 9.5
minutes. I noticed that the solubility affected the glow rate. The warm water was able to quickly
dissolve the copper sulfate, Luminol, and Perborate mixture. However, the cold water took the longest
because it was hard for it to dissolve. In order to keep the dissolving process going, every so often, I
mixed it. My results indicate that if you want to locate the presence of blood quickly, you should use a
warmer solution. However, if you want a longer glow, a colder solution may be a better choice. A t test
was not used because there were only two trials. Therefore, it would be hard to compare and call it
significant or not significant. My hypothesis was correct, because I predicted that the colder solution
would take the longest. I think the results came out the way they did because the crystals had a harder
time dissolving in the cold water, than in the hot water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis Of Scrappy Little Nobody
Memoir 1 Anna Kendrick I Remember Every Slight: You ve Been Warned and Mike and Anna Take
New York , are two excerpts from the book Scrappy Little Nobody, by Anna Kendrick. Kendrick uses
detailed stories to recreate a picture of her childhood, including memories of sleepovers, school bullies
, and bus trips to New York. Anna Kendrick also mentions people that were part of her life, such as her
parents sending her and her brother to New York for an audition, and Tori the bully who tried to steal
all of her friends. Kendrick expresses her anger when Tori frames her for insulting her friends, and
shares about the excitement she felt when she landed her first acting job. All of this being told from a
first person point of view. Anna Kendrick uses idioms and superlative word choice along with an
overall humourous tone. Figurative language that was used included, I shouldn t get too excited. I
shouldn t count my chickens. , and the metaphor that caught my eye was when she compared
underneath the slide on the playground to a Victorian asylum. One noteworthy phrase was It became
less about alleged betrayal and more about their aversion to hyperactive little weirdos. Kendrick
connects the reader to the story when she mentions Boy Meets World and Home Alone. Memoir 2

The Rise Of Nationalism, By Simon Bolivar
Nationalism is being proud of your country and it is something historically people have worked for a
long time to have. The rise of nationalism reshaped the world in many way including both socially and
politically by mid nineteenth century (1800 s).
Simon Bolivar changed the social hierarchy, which reshaped the world socially. Simon Bolivar sent a
letter to the Congress of Angostura talking about how South America did not belong to the natives. He
said that the Spanish have no right to control the land because they are not Natives and have their own
nation. The people did not fit into any category and did not like the social hierarchy triangle. Simon

The people of Venezuela never had a role in their government and they could not create their own
government to be apart of. They did not have many rights, such as freedom. As much as the
Venezuelans wanted to have a good government like North America it was very hard for them to do.
Simon Bolivar did not want the government to be elected but passed down because that person has
more experience growing up in that environment. Bolivar is proposing a new government and ruler
that will make a good change that will make the country great, Therefore, let the entire system of
government be strengthened, and let the balance of power be drawn up in such a manner that it will be
permanent and incapable of decay because of its own tenuity (Bolivar). Simon Bolivar is saying that if
the nation of Venezuela chose the right president than the people will become happy. Nationalism is
when a person feels proud of his/her nation and that will happen when they get a president that will
make peace and lead battles against other countries. This shows political change because the nation
would finally have a long lasting government and a good a society that is well structured. South
America became independent and self ruled because nationalism changed the world

The Method Observed Was The Direct Method

Summary
The method observed was the Direct Method. The teacher spoke Catalan (the target language) from
the very first moment she arrived in class greeting the students with the words bona tarda . First, she
started the lesson by writing on the blackboard parts del dia , el matí , la tarda and la nit . In order to
explain the meaning of such words she showed the gesture of waking up and then she turned on and
off the light of the room twice. The teacher continued to explain the meaning of the words with
drawings on the blackboard: a sun next to the word sol , a star next to the word estrella , a moon next
to the word lluna and a cloud next to the word núvols . Second, she opened a book and read the first
two lines. To explain the meaning of what was just read she moved around the classroom and
illustrated verbs trough actions. For example, to explain the word perdre (to lose) she acted as she was
looking for something around the room. Next she asked the students, again in the target language, to
read aloud a couple of sentences one by one. After each student read the teacher used gestures and
pictures to explain what was written in the text. In order to explain the word país she made an example
in Catalan using students personal factors: Italia es un país . While reading the book she showed
images that represented what was happening in the story; each line had a different image that helped

Border Wall Barriers
One of the most disastrous promise made by president Trump was the border wall between Mexico
and United States. President Trump s defense of his extreme policy was to control the illegal
immigration of many Mexican citizens into the United States. They Mexican public was very much
outraged by this decision and they were very disappointed at the part where President Trump
said,Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto showed this
disappointment by cancelling his appointment with Mr Trump. This initiative is crushing good cultural
and social relationships between two countries. This crushes the ancient cultures which survive near
the border of the two countries. President Trump s initiative of building a wall to divide U.S and
Mexico is negatively influencing the cultural relations between the government of the United States
and the Mexican government. This initiative may also cost United States one of its closest allies:
Mexico.

The Consequences Of Editing Ethics In Frankenstein By Mary...
In science laboratories all around the world, scientists are hard at work creating a multitude of
products. But when these products are related to bringing a life into the world, the situation could get
rather complicated. Frankenstein, a novel by Mary Shelley, tells the story of a scientist gone mad after
creating life out of death, while the articles titled Kazuo Ishiguro s uncanny science by Daniel
Marchalik and Ann Jurecic (Source A), Pondering the consequences of gene editing by Joel
Achenbach (Source B), and CRISPR, the disruptor by Heidi Ledford (Source C), talk about the
consequences of gene editing software in the world. The novel and articles both bring into the
question ethics and morality. A creator is responsible for his own actions, his creation, and the rest of
society, as shown by both the story of Frankenstein and the articles about the use of gene editing
software by scientists around the world.
As a creator, a scientist is responsible for just about everything he does in a lab and should admit any
mistakes he has committed in his study. Frankenstein would rather suffer living torture than confess
[himself] guilty of the crime ascribed to Justine and be considered a madman (64). Instead of coming
clean about the creature during William s murder trial, he keeps quiet and does not tell anyone about
the monster he created and Justine goes to jail for a crime she did not commit. Frankenstein could be
characterized as selfish for only thinking about

BP denied there was oil leaking out of the oil well. After that BP trivialized the consequences of the
ecocatastrophe. Even the CEO Tony Hayward made some dull statements. What did BP do wrong?
BP made a big mistake right after the explosion. They were not open and honest about the situation.
First they denied the oil spill. When it became clear that there was definitely an oil spill, BP denied
there would be any consequences for the environment and trivialized the situation later on. The Gulf
of Mexico is a very big ocean. The amount of volume of oil and dispersant we are putting into it is
tiny in relation to the total water volume said top executive Hayward, while scientists, biologists and
satellite images proved the opposite. The photo shopped images of the crisis did little good for the oil
concern.

means that they gave a simple statement denying that the crisis existed. After the denial strategy BP

A Foreign Direct Investment is basically an ownership in a business in a country by a totally different
country. Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) plays a very important role in the development of a nation.
All countries need FDI s but in the case of underdeveloped or developing nations FDI is one of the
most important aspect, as this kind of investment is required to help sustain the growth of the
economy. This inturn helps improving the balance of payments and also helps in generating
employment in the country. FDI also helps to improve productivity and use the available resourecs to
the maximum.
FDI in INDIA : FDI in India plays a very important role. Foreign Investments have been existant since
the time East India Company had settled itself in India, however due to non existance of data the same
cannot be authenticated by the researchers, The Britishers then invested in business that could be
profitable just to them. After Independence foreign investment was considered as a medium to bring in
advanced technology and resources that were not available in India. However the gulf war in the early

excessive force to defend himself. After the trial Bernhard was viewed as a celebrity and hero for

  • 2. The American Of Canadian Foreign Relations Over the course of history Canada has engaged in social, political, economic and cultural relations with various countries. Managing relationships and foreign policy are key elements in Canadian foreign policy. These relationships and policies have taken many different shapes and forms as expected, and thus, the history of Canadian foreign relations is a significant part of Canada s identity as a nation today. In particular, one aspect that is often analyzed on this topic is the how the Americans failed to conquer Canada. One can only imagine how different Canada would be if certain battles favoured the Americans. It is evident, that the Americans failure to conquer Canada was a result of poor war tactics and military conduct at crucial points in time. The Americans were not fully prepared to conquer Canada as a whole, and underestimated the Canadians in terms of their war capabilities, loyalty and readiness for war. The Americans also naively believed they could take advantage and attack the British during the American Revolution. An important period to consider is 1775 1783 where crucial battles and victories emerged for Canada against the Americans. In December of 1975, the Americans decided to attack Quebec, what is known and referred to as the Battle of Quebec in the American Revolutionary War. The purpose or motive of the invasion was to incorporate Quebec into the thirteen colonies. This would ultimately prove to be a failure for the Americans, which is discussed ... • 3. Parable In The Gospel Of Luke In the gospel of Luke, stories are often told with a context in order to better understand Jesus teachings. For example in Luke 16, Jesus uses a parable in order to explain why it is hard to be faithful when one is rich. He tells the story of a man who was very rich and a poor beggar named Laz arus, who would lay outside the rich man s house and ask for scraps from the rich man s table. However, both die one day; Laz arus goes to heaven while the rich man goes to hell. Abraham, who is also in heaven, then explains to the rich man why he is in hell; Remember that you in your lifetime received your good things, and Laz arus in like manner evil things; but now he is comforted here, and you are in anguish (Luke 16:25). In context, this story ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. How to Die in Oregon How to Die in Oregon Portland, USA, 107 Min., 3/13/12 9PM (Watched online) How to Die in Oregon is an emotionally charged, and intimate exploration of the controversial Death with Dignity Law passed in the state of Oregon in 1994. How to Die in Oregon received the Grand Jury Prize in the U. S. Documentary Competition at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival, along with other countless accolades, and is currently available as an HBO Original Film. In his film, filmmaker Peter Richardson, employs the observational mode of documentary to witness how patients families and friends grapple with the legal option of physician assisted suicide. In exploring the complexities surrounding this topic, Richardson interviews doctors on both sides of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Richardson produced, directed and captured all the footage himself. The end result is a multitude of powerful one on one interviews, archival footage of patients, and candid long takes. Richardson cuts himself out of the interviews, and edits together strikingly frank sound bytes to showcase his subjects talking about death and the affect of the law. His use of archival footage primarily captures his patients when they were healthy, and provides a striking contrast as they seriously discuss death towards the end of their lives. His use of candid long takes captures some of the most poignant moments of the film, including the final minutes of one man s life after taking the lethal drugs. The camera is a spectator in the room, as the man accompanied by his family; all face his personal decision to die together. All of these different footage types work together to provide emotional weight to an already troubling subject. 2) Richardson s non interventionist style is a prime example of observational documentary, and works specifically well in capturing and promulgating the subject of death. According to Nichols, observational documentaries started appearing in the 1960 s as result of more mobile and smaller equipment. Furthermore, observational documentary stresses non intervention, as filmmakers objectively observe indirect speech, candidness in the form of long takes, and create a world out of historical reality not fabricated with ... • 5. International Students Information-Seeking Behaviors Journal Article 1 Sara Jackson Liberty University Summary Cho and Lee (2016) created a study to find out how international students that attended colleges in the United States sought out information on the correct behaviors of life on college campuses. Considering the continuous increase of international students, the main goal of this study was to investigate how international students information seeking behaviors directly and indirectly impacted communication satisfaction with instructors and school life satisfaction (Cho Lee, 2016, p.597). The researchers had to become familiar with cultural backgrounds of the students. This was an important variable to understand which provided light as to why certain students acted the ways in ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I am a firm believer that as teacher we most know all of our students backgrounds. As Jones and Jones state, ...it is absolutely essential that you understand your students beliefs and values about learning and personal relationships and that you incorporate them into your decision making (Jones Jones, 2016, p.23). Teachers cannot treat all students the same way. Even if your students are not from another country it is important to treat their beliefs and values equally. I do not want to offend any student or parents by assuming that I know how all students should act and respond in a situation. Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others (Philippians 2:3 4). This is an appropriate verse for my discussion. It represents everything you need to know about treat people. Think of others and do not assume everyone is the same. This is made possible by knowing others and their beliefs and ... • 6. How Advertising Is A Strong Force Or A Weak Force In this essay i will go cover some of the theories that try to explain how advertising works, and i will try decide whether advertising is a strong force or a weak force. Advertising works. If a product is not advertised consumers will be completely unaware of its existence, and products with more and better advertising are more likely to sell better than their competitors. Is this because advertising persuades them into buying products or does advertising simply help consumers validate their purchases making them more likely to buy again? Advertising can inform and influence consumers, it can also support and confirm their purchases and attitudes. To influence a consumer into purchasing a product suggests advertising is a strong force compelling action, whereas support and confirmation suggest weaker force simply facilitating choice . The Lavidge and Steiner s hierarchy of effects model (1961) was developed to show the process of how advertising works. Lavidge and Steiner believed that advertising is a long term process that moves consumers over time through a series of six stages. It is based on the classic hierarchy of effects structure; cognition (thinking), affect (feeling), and conation (doing)[2]. Lavidge and Steiner s model breaks these three stages down starting with: Awareness (cognitive/thinking): a customer who is completely unaware of the product becomes aware of its existence. Knowledge (cognitive/thinking): The consumer learns about the products ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 7. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy ( Dmd ) Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Genetic Disorder Introduction to Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy Duchenne muscular dystrophy (DMD) is one of many types of muscular dystrophy disorders, which affect the muscle fibers. It is the most aggressive form of muscular dystrophy. The muscle fibers gradually become weaker and incapacitate the affected individual. DMD is a recessive, fatal, X linked disorder occurring at a frequency of about 1 in 3,500 new born males (NCBI, 2014). Males are more susceptible to inherit this disorder because DMD is passed on through the X chromosome. Women can be carriers of the disorder without any adverse affects. The female carrier has a 50% chance of passing on this trait to an offspring. It is extremely rare that a female will have DMD. Symptoms of this disorder include muscle weakness that starts at the legs and progresses at a fast rate though out the body. The rapid progression of muscular dystrophy means that the inflicted individual will eventually be confined to a wheelchair in their life time. Wheelchair dependency had a median age of 10 years (OMIM, 2013). Other symptoms include degraded motor skills as well as learning disabilities. As muscle mass diminishes the individual suffers from heart and lung complications eventually leading to the persons death. Death occurred at a median age of 17 years (OMIM, 2013). The X linked inherited disease is cased by a mutation in the DNA segment of the X chromosome in the DMD (P11532) gene. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Why The Fries Taste Good By Michael Pollan Analysis Pollan and McCorkle Synthesis with Schlosser Michael Pollan, writer of Eat Food: Food Defined and Her Chee to Heart author Jill McCorkle are both aware of the unhealthy nature of processed foods, but Pollan would scold McCorkle for succumbing to the processed food s appeal because he discredits the category food product as actual food; there is nothing about McCorkle s relationship to food that Pollan will agree with. These nonfiction articles take different stances on food in the twenty first century. Pollan s approach is to warn consumers about processed foods and to guide them into a healthier lifestyle while McCorkle describes her junk food addiction with stories that highlight the artificial foods people are so quick to love. Eric Schlosser s Why the Fries Taste Good is the third article connected to Pollan and McCorkle s; his writing explains why processed food is so bad but also provides an explanation as to why it is appealing. McCorkle and Pollan will never see eye to eye when it comes to what kind of food people should be eating. While Pollan urges consumers to stay away from the enticing products foods at all costs, McCorkle welcomes junk food as it is an integral part of her life. • 11. Plots In The Movie Adaptation Of Ender s Game Destruction of Planets and Plots in the Movie Adaptation of Ender s Game Movie adaptations are more frequent than ever before in today s society. Sometimes, they are held in a higher respect than movies not based on books, especially by those who love books. When a movie adaptation is watched by someone who read the book, the reader has major and specific plot points in mind that need focus, and when those points are not hit, there seems to be an uproar among the community. With Ender s Game, there were mixed reviews. Many disliked how some of the magic seen in the book was lost in translation. Some didn t seem to like how characters were presented or how certain things were brought up with no detail, or not brought up at all. In the movie adaptation of Ender s Game, Orson Scott Card s original idea of Andrew Ender Wiggin, a child genius, becoming a commander of an army in efforts to save the world remains, but with Card s intense adventure and genius depth nearly obliterated from the motion picture, the movie underwhelms with its inabilities to portray the interesting science fiction story in whole. The movie adaptation of Ender s Game avoids portraying as much child violence as the novel. Clearly addressed several times in the book, Ender worries about becoming a killer, like his brother Peter, yet he continues to inflict pain as if he forgot about attempting to avoid the seemingly inevitable: becoming malleable by surrounding influences. However, the movie plays Ender ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The country considers its start as a nation to be 1776, and since then, America has stood for freedom all around the world. The USA has had military supremacy for years; considered one of the only superpowers in the world currently. Most importantly, however, is that it is a melting pot of different ethnic groups and cultures. Sadly, most places in America do not contain this important standard of no prejudice. After the Plessy v. Ferguson case, subtle racism became more abundant throughout the south, and although the government resolved main problem in the 60 s, racism still abides on both ends today. In 1863, President Abraham Lincoln issued the emancipation proclamation. This act freed thousands of slaves, and enacted the abolition of slavery after the north won the Civil War. In turn, legislation passed many amendments prohibiting any discrimination of blacks. In 1883, the Supreme Court ruled against this amendment, they ruled that, The 14th Amendment did not give Congress authority to prevent discrimination by private individuals. When the brothers, Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, started to publish a different type of story that depicted ordinary characters that overcame tough situations through supernatural and violent means, it caught attention among the people. These stories portrayed characters that not only possessed abnormal characteristics, but also had the lives of their adversaries end rather abruptly. The Grimm brothers collected extensively on fairy tales depicting violent behavior that were directed to be read to the children of that time which in turn gave a whole new meaning the term fairy tale. In a 2012 article, Cavendish provides some basic information regarding the Grimm brothers various works. So as the years go on we should realize that the penny is everything to the United States. The penny should not be eliminated from the money system due to the fact that it is a part of the American culture and has earned its respect over the years. In America, there is still a debate if the penny should be eliminated. If it was to be eliminated it would still be used, but in a minimal way. In Canada, the Canadian penny was eliminated due to cost, time, and the country believed it was a waste of money, inflation reduced its purchasing power by 95% since it was first minted domestically in 1908: back then the cent could buy goods of the cost of $0.20, today in other words. Leon Festinger s theory of cognitive dissonance has stood up to challenge for over forty years, and is considered by many to be the single most important theory of social psychology. In conclusion, Festinger found that the subjects who were paid one dollar actually came to believe that the experiment was enjoyable, as opposed to those who were paid twenty dollars. Incredible? Simple. The subjects who were paid twenty dollars have all the justification in the world for their actions, but the subjects who were only paid one dollar have reacted to the dissonance created by telling the lie for such a small price, and have actually led themselves to believe that the task was enjoyable to improve their self esteem in regards to the lie. Festinger concluded that over time dissonance would change attitudes. For example, cigarette smokers know that it is unhealthy to smoke, but they created an attitude to justify why they continue to smoke. If I quit smoking now, I will gain weight. I only smoke when I am drinking. I only smoke after a meal. But the dissonance theory is applicable to much bigger social opinions than smoking, for example: Aronson and Mills (1959) conducted an experiment in which some subjects were put through a harsh period of hazing during initiation into a group while other subjects had to endure only mild hazing. The end result was that the people who went through the sever initiation ended up liking that group a lot better than those who went through mild hazing. My hypothesis was correct, because I predicted that the colder solution would take the longest. I think the results came out the way they did because the crystals had a harder time dissolving in the cold water, than in the hot water. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I was going to record my observations, and make a table based on how bright I thought it was. However, the problem I realized with this was that my data would be opinionated. Therefore, it would be hard to justify. After, I realized that I could time how long the glow lasts for. By doing this, I would have true numbers to record. The rise of nationalism reshaped the world in many way including both socially and politically by mid nineteenth century (1800 s). Simon Bolivar changed the social hierarchy, which reshaped the world socially. Simon Bolivar sent a letter to the Congress of Angostura talking about how South America did not belong to the natives. He said that the Spanish have no right to control the land because they are not Natives and have their own nation. The people did not fit into any category and did not like the social hierarchy triangle. Simon Bolivar wrote, As our role has always been strictly passive and political existence nil, ... They did not have many rights, such as freedom. As much as the Venezuelans wanted to have a good government like North America it was very hard for them to do. Simon Bolivar did not want the government to be elected but passed down because that person has more experience growing up in that environment. Bolivar is proposing a new government and ruler that will make a good change that will make the country great, Therefore, let the entire system of government be strengthened, and let the balance of power be drawn up in such a manner that it will be permanent and incapable of decay because of its own tenuity (Bolivar). Simon Bolivar is saying that if the nation of Venezuela chose the right president than the people will become happy. Nationalism is when a person feels proud of his/her nation and that will happen when they get a president that will make peace and lead battles against other countries. • 33. The Method Observed Was The Direct Method Maggie Berti LLL 690 Direct Method analysis Summary The method observed was the Direct Method. The teacher spoke Catalan (the target language) from the very first moment she arrived in class greeting the students with the words bona tarda . First, she started the lesson by writing on the blackboard parts del dia , el matí , la tarda and la nit . In order to explain the meaning of such words she showed the gesture of waking up and then she turned on and off the light of the room twice. The teacher continued to explain the meaning of the words with drawings on the blackboard: a sun next to the word sol , a star next to the word estrella , a moon next to the word lluna and a cloud next to the word núvols . Second, she opened a book and read the first two lines. To explain the meaning of what was just read she moved around the classroom and illustrated verbs trough actions. For example, to explain the word perdre (to lose) she acted as she was looking for something around the room. Next she asked the students, again in the target language, to read aloud a couple of sentences one by one. After each student read the teacher used gestures and pictures to explain what was written in the text. In order to explain the word país she made an example in Catalan using students personal factors: Italia es un país . While reading the book she showed images that represented what was happening in the story; each line had a different image that helped with ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They Mexican public was very much outraged by this decision and they were very disappointed at the part where President Trump said,Mexico is going to pay for the wall. Mexican President Enrique Peña Nieto showed this disappointment by cancelling his appointment with Mr Trump. This initiative is crushing good cultural and social relationships between two countries. This crushes the ancient cultures which survive near the border of the two countries. President Trump s initiative of building a wall to divide U.S and Mexico is negatively influencing the cultural relations between the government of the United States and the Mexican government. This initiative may also cost United States one of its closest allies: Mexico. Author Felbab Brown explained in her article THE WALL:The real costs of a barrier between the United States and Mexico that The border on which the wall is to be built cuts through ... tribal homelands and separates tribal members from their relatives and their sacred sites, while also sundering them from the natural environment which is crucial not just to their livelihoods but to their cultural and religious identity (Felbab Brown, 2017). • 35. The Consequences Of Editing Ethics In Frankenstein By Mary... In science laboratories all around the world, scientists are hard at work creating a multitude of products. But when these products are related to bringing a life into the world, the situation could get rather complicated. Frankenstein, a novel by Mary Shelley, tells the story of a scientist gone mad after creating life out of death, while the articles titled Kazuo Ishiguro s uncanny science by Daniel Marchalik and Ann Jurecic (Source A), Pondering the consequences of gene editing by Joel Achenbach (Source B), and CRISPR, the disruptor by Heidi Ledford (Source C), talk about the consequences of gene editing software in the world. The novel and articles both bring into the question ethics and morality. A creator is responsible for his own actions, his creation, and the rest of society, as shown by both the story of Frankenstein and the articles about the use of gene editing software by scientists around the world. As a creator, a scientist is responsible for just about everything he does in a lab and should admit any mistakes he has committed in his study. Frankenstein would rather suffer living torture than confess [himself] guilty of the crime ascribed to Justine and be considered a madman (64). Instead of coming clean about the creature during William s murder trial, he keeps quiet and does not tell anyone about the monster he created and Justine goes to jail for a crime she did not commit. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... BP made mistake after mistake and it seems like Tony Hayward did not attend any media training. It is almost impossible to deny that a lot of things went wrong in the communication concerning the explosion of the platform and the following oil spill of the British oil concern BP. In the first instance, BP denied there was oil leaking out of the oil well. After that BP trivialized the consequences of the ecocatastrophe. Even the CEO Tony Hayward made some dull statements. What did BP do wrong? BP made a big mistake right after the explosion. They were not open and honest about the situation. First they denied the oil spill. When it became clear that there was definitely an oil spill, BP denied there would be any consequences for the environment and trivialized the situation later on. The Gulf of Mexico is a very big ocean. The amount of volume of oil and dispersant we are putting into it is tiny in relation to the total water volume said top executive Hayward, while scientists, biologists and satellite images proved the opposite. The photo shopped images of the crisis did little good for the oil concern. In the first weeks of the crisis BP used two Nonexistence strategies . BP used the denial strategy which means that they gave a simple statement denying that the crisis existed. After the denial strategy BP used the clarification strategy . This strategy was an ...
