Individual Rights In Nigeria By Lin Anderson
The short story, written by Lin Anderson, is about the main character Mr. Ugwu, his African
family and his job. The short story s focus is the difference between nationalities, their culture and
one s individual rights in regards to skin color and social rank. The story takes place in Nigeria.
After a little research , one will see that Nigeriais a former British colony. The fact that it is a
former colony plays a significant role, because of the texts theme mentioned above.
Mr. Ugwu used to live with his family in Lagos, but some changes in Mr. Ugwu s work forced
them to move out into the bush. Mrs. Ugwu is very much against it as the life they lived in Lagos
was good. By the looks of it, the Ugwu family seem to be a middle class family. ... Show more

Ugwu s house. In the rush of a moment they are trampling all over Mrs. Ugwu s garden: [...] then
in a sudden rush of momentum they are over the ditch and trampling Mrs Ugwu s plants into the
red earth (p. 3, l. 112 113). The mob trampling all over the garden is an important symbol. At this
point status does not mean anything to the workers, so to show their anger and frustration they
destroy the garden. By destroying the garden, they thereby destroy Mr. Ugwu s status. Mr.
Ugwu decides to flee, but not to escape the mob. He runs the protect the family that means more
to him than any title or status could ever do: When Mr Ugwu hears the chants of the crowd
round his veranda, he takes one look at the terrified faces of his wife and children, lifts the bread
knife from the table and goes through the empty kitchen [...] He runs until he has no more breath
and then he stops, turns and screams abuse in Ibo until he is sure the crowd have heard and are
following him. Then he looks about for somewhere to hide (p. 3, l. 116 121). After a while, it
starts to rain making the mob give up on their hunt for Mr. Ugwu. The rain could be seen as a fresh
start, the past is being washed away.
Mr. Ugwu is hit by a rush of anger, which causes him to kill his neighbors monkey. The monkey
is usually kept in a cage outside of the house, and is only allowed out a few hours a day. The
monkey is a symbol of freedom. When he kills the monkey, Mr. Ugwu kills his own freedom.
However, looking at situation a little different, the monkey as a symbol gets a new meaning. When
the monkey is released, it becomes its own master still restraint by the collar though. In order to be
truly free, the monkey has to die. When Mr. Ugwu kills the monkey, he not only sets the monkey
free of all restraints, he sets himself

To My Dear And Loving Husband Essay
Marriage: any of the diverse forms of interpersonal union established in various parts of the
world to form a familial bond that is recognized legally, religiously, or socially, granting the
participating partners mutual conjugal rights and responsibilities... (CITATION) In the
definition of marriage there is no mention of love, yet in western civilization, love is considered
the deciding factor in taking that leap. Anne Bradstreet wrote in her poem To My Dear and
Loving Husband If ever two were one, then surely we. If ever man were loved by wife, then thee; if
ever wife was happy in a man, Compare with me ye women if you can (CITATION). Even
though she lived in a Puritan home, Bradshaw freely expressed her love for her husband. This
expression could have been viewed as just as radical as homosexual marriageis today. One of the
biggest phrases people supporting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, LGBT, movement
use is, Love is love. People associated with this movement also ask heterosexuals what they
would do if marriage was not allowed to them. Yet the Hindi philosophy says that one marries,
and then falls in love. Is the reason America is in such turmoil over the various types of marriage
in comparison to other countries because this country loves first, and marries second? If love were
taken out of the business deal that marriage essentially is, would America be in less turmoil?
America as a country would be better economically and socially if marriage was not

The Classic Era Of Cars In The 1930 s
Cars were idolized in the 1930 s, everyone wanted them. When the cars first became popular they
weren t worried about the utility of the car. The style and design was more about elegance and
luxury. Everyone wanted their cars to nice, the 1930 s were considered the Classic Era of cars
(Cooke). There were so many companies that began making cars back then, many of them are still
making cars to this day. Though some companies never made it out of the 1930 s the carsare still
around. The cars back then changed the look and style of cars to this day. The purchasing of a
car was different from now. Everyone would see the cars on the showroom floors and those
would sell. Many companies advertised in magazines and catalogs, they would send these
catalogs were sent to showroom workers who got potential buyers for the companies. People
would look at the car for luxury or sportiness, speed was a big factor of the decision. The glamorous
teardrop shape stayed around even into the 1940 s. Cars were the new horse carriages, they wanted
to go fast. The cost of a car was a very different from now, before the great depressioncars went for
two hundred dollars to five hundred. After that they went up in the thousands, prices varied from
each car and depending on the companies (Cooke).... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

the money started coming in. and Chevrolet was getting back up. The company even released two
very successful cars in that year, the biggest thing for them was the utility and usefulness of a car

Electric Charge And The Electric Field
EXPERIMENT #1: ELECTRIC CHARGE AND THE ELECTRIC FIELD PHY 2092 10 By:
Kamal Aljohani Date Performed: 12 January 2015 Date Submitted: 30 January 2015 Lab
Partners: Martynas Mickus Sean Small Instructor: Robert J Lucia INTRODUCTION: The purpose
of this experiment is to analyze the static electricity, electrical charge, charge grounding, inducing
charge, and electric polarization. We used two wands that created positive and negative charges
when rubbed together one is blue and the other is white. We put one of the wands inside the pail
attached to the electrometer to read the wand s voltage. In the second part of the experiment, a
conductive sphere was applied 2000 volts, and voltage s readings were taken at different locations

When we used both wands, the electrometer almost read zero volts throughout the duration of the
experiment. This proves that the negativity of the particles on the blue wand were equal to the
positive charge of the particles on the white wand; so it cancelled each other out. While using
the both wands we encountered an error. The voltage should have been zero when the wands
was out the pail and not touching the pail; however the electrometer reading was 3 volt. This is
most likely due to a random error in measurement due to a faulty electrometer or pail. The
electrometer may have not been sensitive enough to pick up all the charged particles when the
wands were not out the pail we should have repeated this so we can get accurate readings.

wand was then placed into the pail without contact and record a positive charge of 0.6 Volts. This
lets us know that the electric field has a radius of at least 30 cm. We repeated these steps with 2 cm

Comparing Beowulf And The Wife s Lament
In both the stories, Beowulf and The Wife s Lament , the readers find that throughout the text, the
author instills the feelings of anger and contempt within their characters. In Beowulf , Unferth
clearly has contempt towards Beowulf when he recalls a story of how Beowulf raced against
Brecca and then lost. Then, Unferth begins to say that Beowulfwill pay a heavy price... if (he)
dare(s) ambush Grendelin the watches of the night . In reply to Unferth s anger, Beowulf also
throws contemptuous statements back at Unferth, saying that he slayed his own brothers. Unlike
the epic Beowulf , the wife, in the poem The Wife s Lament , more complains about how she is
missing her lord and how cruel it was that he sent her away. She then condemns

The Corporal Punishment Of Children
Corporal Punishment of Children
Thesis: Although using the corporal punishment method in schools is intended to change the
behavior of the student, teachers should not be allowed to use this method to punish students
because it s not effective for the child s behavioral change, and it affects the child s behavior
mentally and physically.
I.Hurts the child physically and abuses the child right
II. Destructive rather than constructive
A.Many people believe that corporal punishment is a method of encouraging students for better
academic performance with no cost.
B.Ineffective for the child s long term behavioral change
III. It affects the child s behavior psychologically
A.Makes the student violent
B.It lowers the child s self esteem
Corporal Punishment of Children
When I was in middle school at St. Mary s Catholic School, in Ethiopia, I used to see our teachers
using different techniques to punish my classmates. I remember an incident in middle school where
a friend of mine was punished in a harmful way because he failed to answer a question. Although
the use of corporal punishment in schools is intended to change the behavior of the student,
teachers should not be allowed to use this method to punish their students because it hurts the
student physically and abuses the child right, it is not effective for the child s behavioral change,
and it affects the student s behavior psychologically.

Elizabethan Theatre Essay
Elizabethan Theatre
In roughly built playhouses and cobblestone inn yards, an extraordinary development took place in
England in the 1500s. (Yancey, 8). At that time, an opportunity combined to produce literature
achievement never before witnessed in the history of drama and theater. The renaissance, helped
spark this movement by inspiring scientific and artistic creativity throughout the land. Models
began writing dramas that portrayed life in both realistic and imaginative ways. This created work
later captured the attention of the world that changed the English drama. The many aspects of
Elizabethan theater helped to shape the acting and theater world forever.

It cost a penny to attend the performance and two pennies for the wealthier seating.
Due to crowdedness, diseases passed rampantly through the streets of Europe, as well as in the
theaters. Small pox, scarlet fever, and tuberculosis were just one of the few of the diseases that
regularly killed thousands of people. (Yancey, 35). The theaters closed with every serious outbreak.
Which caused the players to make a choice to move with the thousand other citizens to continue
their career. Acting companies usually went on tour. Not only to escape the diseases but to earn
extra money.
Women s roles in the plays were acted by men or, more commonly by boys. (Bommarito, 267).
Boys were used for women s roles because of their small figures and higher pitched voices. The
boys began acting at the age of ten, learning the correct way to walk and talk on the stage. In
addition they were also taught the art of applying make up moving gracefully in the many layers of
clothing that the Elizabethan women wore at that time.
English women were considered weaker and less intelligent, therefore, their opinions in life was
limited. In judging behavior, the Elizabethans condemned the presence of women in some theaters.
Despite the mens disapproval, a significant number of them did attend public plays.
Becoming a good actor was not easy. Since there were no microphones during this era, actors had to

tradition and tention between the past and the present contributed to the current situation or

Physical Examination And Ecg Findings At The Emergency...
Background
Chest pain is a common presenting complaint to the emergency department of any hospital and,
given that ischemic heart disease is considered the world s biggest killer1, it is imperative to
investigate such patients at length to exclude coronary artery disease (CAD). Physicians commonly
rely on the measurement of cardiac biomarkers such as creatine kinase (CK) and its isoenzymes for
such a differential diagnosis. Despite the determination of Troponin levels in the evaluation of
myocardial ischemia, an elevated CK MB can provide diagnostic uncertainty as it rises earlier than
troponin in myocardial injury. Thus, it is important to remember the other causes of an elevated

These are known as macro enzymes and carry a molecular weight of greater than 200 kDa3,4.
Macro molecular forms of not only creatine kinase have been described but also that of lactate
dehydrogenase, amylase and aspartate aminotransferase6. These molecules provide diagnostic
challenges for physicians as they often lead to an interference in the biochemical assay for their
respective enzymes, resulting in false positive diagnosis such as acute myocardial ischemia or even
acute pancreatitis.
This discussion will focus on the macro molecular forms of creatine kinase: macro CK type 1
and macro CK type 2. Macro CK type 1 is a complex formed by one of the CK isoenzymes and
immunoglobulin in an antigen (auto) antibody reaction7. Most often, it s components entail CK
BB and monoclonal IgG3. Its prevalence is estimated at 0.9 1.2% 3. Albeit, very rare, researchers
have shown its association with various disorders including hypothyroidism, neoplasia,
autoimmune conditions, myositis and cardiovascular disease8. Persuasively, Lee et al (1994)
showed that more than 50% of his patients with macro CK type 1 had some form of myositis,
whether it was autoimmune, malignancy associated or drug induced (PBrien, J.The

Bunch Vs Kant
In the history of philosophers there has been a major span of views and with that a large amount of
agreements and disagreements. From the 18th century until now for example four philosophers in
specific have had similar and contrasting ideas about ethics. Four philosophers that make a great
example of this are Immanuel Kant, David Hume, Friedrich Nietzsche and Charlotte Bunch.
First off, Kant is an ethical theorist that would be considered a deontologist, which is someone who
believes that an action s morality depends on the motive behind it. The other side of the philosophic
view are consequentialist, who believe that the consequences of an action are the more defining of
the action s morality than the intent or motive behind it. Kant ... Show more content on

Kant believes that the someone Reason we shouldn t do bad is because it s irrational. To Kant
being rational is the very thing that makes us human. Rational thought is the one thing that
separates us from animals and is our biggest tool of being and existence. That being said, being
irrational would be going against the very thing that makes humanity human. That act
irrationally in Kant s eyes would be to act immorally and to act immorally is bad in itself. So as
humans our duty to ourselves and the rest of humanity is to act in a rational, moral fashion. We
can achieve that by acting in a way that involves what Kant considers universal law, which
would be act in way that if everyone else in the world acted in the same fashion the world would
be content and a livable place. One example of this is the cutting in line example, that if everyone
cut in line then there would be no lines and everywhere you go you would end up just fighting
your way to the front and this type of society is unfeasible to will yourself to live there.
Similarly, David Hume Believe we cannot be 100% positive about cause and effect relationships.
These relationships that our mind makes is an inherent trait of humans but Hume believes we can
never truly know if something is the exact effect to a caused event. Just because two events occur
one after the other our minds try to connect the two, but this process is ultimately just assuming that
one caused the other. In addition, because of this we can never definitively say one thing cause the

The Pros And Cons Of The World Bank And The IMF
far from being the solution to global economic instability and poverty, these two international
institutions are a major problem. For one thing, their lending practice deters growth because the
money they loan removes incentives for governments to advance economic freedom, and breeds
corruption. For these reasons, the vast majority of recipient countries have been unable to develop
fully after depending on these institutions for over 40 years.2

as impractical to deal with challenging issues of life. But biblical Christianity light and truth will

loans. They are not pure innocents, receiving unwanted money forced upon them by the IMF. The
politicians saw the chance to leech onto IMF money, a good portion of which ends up in their
own pockets or in those of their cronies. Their receipt of IMF loans indicates they did not have the
best interests of their own countries in mind. They fell to the temptation which the IMF offered.

Justinian And Theodora And Byzantine Cultures In The...
World Changers
Justinian and Theodora ruled the Byzantine Empire from 527 to 565 AD, in their time they
influenced not only the art of the era, but also the architecture and the church. Byzantine was an
extremely diverse culture. It included members from groups around the entire known world at the
time and this region brought them together (Brooks). This diversity did lead to conflict once
Justinian became emperor due to his intolerance for what he considered paganistic rituals. This
lead him to end the Academy and for him or even go so far so to put in place measures that
limited the Semitic lifestyle. Theodora was one of the most powerful empresses of the Byzantine
era and was wife of Justinian. In her youth she was a prostitute and dancer and this translated into
her adulthood as her fighting for women s rights. Justinian claimed to be a Christian Emperor and
accomplished many achievements with both the church and with law. The goal of their reign was
to restore Rome to its previous vigor through their influence in the culture that was portrayed
through mosaics and churches. While they did not achieve the full life of Rome again, they did
influence it and bring it out of the darkness that it was beginning to fall into.
There is a mosaic located in the San Vitale church located in Ravenna. This mosaic depicts Justinian
and a court of clergymen in the chancel of the church. In this art there are many symbols. According

Hollywood Rating System
In order for us to stop the constant bombardment of uninspired adaptations, sequels, prequels,
remakes, and reboots we need to create a new rating system, one which doesn t stifle the creativity

also abolish the supervisory role for movie theaters. The rule that kids must be accompanied by a

creators should instead try to focus on forming a genuine, connected relationship with their

Creators who have done this in the past have received plenty of financial support from the

Speech On Epic Failure
Epic Failure: The Road to Success is Paved with the Stones of Failure. Thomas Edison Said, Our
greatest weakness lies in giving up. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one
more time. I guess it s a good thing Nikola Tesla did not give up or we would not have AC power.
Failure is a fact of life and the lessons learned by failure cannot be taught in any college. The only
true failure is the act of giving up. Today I will talk about one of my most epic fails in my real
estate business. There are four basic steps to my business plan. They are research, purchase,
rehab, and rent. My very first acquisition I had not quite refined my plan and it ended in failure.
The remarkable thing is that it was my first lesson in the business. These lessons come often and
I continue to recognize them in greater frequency. The first step in my business plan is to find a
property in a given area that is destressed and may be for sale. This property may be a foreclosure
or it may be owned by a bank. One of the ways to spot a potential property is to drive by the
nationhood that you want to purchase property and look for unkept lawns. If the grass is
extremely tall this is a good indicator that the property may be in trouble. Once I find a property
I have a 1.3 percent rule. The rule is 1.3 percent of the total investment should cover the rent. For
example, for a total investment of $100,00.00 I should expect the rent to be around $1300.00 per
month. If the neighborhood average rent is below that amount I will not buy the property. Once
the initial assessment is done and it meets the 1.3% rule I do thorough inspection of the property
to minimize the risk of exceeding the 1.3 percent. One of the main issues I look for is termite
damage to the support beams under the house. The next step after all the research is done is to
purchase the house. This process can be as daunting as the research. If the property is bank
owned or in some sort of foreclosure state ther are some pitfalls to look out for. One of the biggest
one is an unclean or unclear title. The property could have many different types of leans against if
before it is considered clean. After purchasing the property, the next step is renovation. This

Investigation of the Rate of a Reaction
Background:
The reaction you will be investigating is the reaction that occurs when an Alka Seltzer tablet is
placed into a given amount of water. Alka Seltzer is an over the counter antacid and pain relief
medication that is dissolved in water before it is ingested. Each tablet contains aspirin
(acetylsalicylic acid), citric acid, and sodium bicarbonate. As the tablet dissolves in water, the
bicarbonate ions in the tablet react with the hydrogen ions from the acids that are also contained in
the tablet. The carbon dioxide gas produced by the reaction is what causes the bubbling that can be
observed.

Be sure to write a detailed procedure for each lab design so that the same procedure can be
followed accurately by anyone who reads it. Include details on the setup, the control of variables,
and how the rate of each trial will be compared.
For each of your two reactions, most of the reactants and products can be difficult to see, and
concentration can be difficult to measure without the proper laboratory equipment. Therefore, it is
recommended that the volume of carbon dioxide gas produced over a given amount of time be
used to help qualitatively compare the reaction rates of each trial. If you have another way you
would like to compare rates of this reaction, feel free to explain it thoroughly in your written lab
procedure.
Be sure your instructions include multiple trials for each factor to help ensure that the results of
your investigation are more reliable.
Discussion and Conclusion:
Answer the following questions in complete sentences.
1.What two factors did you investigate in your procedure, and why did you choose to compare
these two factors?
2.What other factors did you need to control during your investigation? Explain how you controlled
each one in your procedure.
3.What was your prediction about the results of each factor tested in your two lab procedures?
Explain your predictions based on your knowledge of the dissolving process, collision theory, and
reaction rates.

Social Influence of Television Advertisement on Children a...
CHAPTER ONE 1. BACKGROUND TO THE STUDY Social influence is defined as a change
in an individual s thoughts, feelings, attitudes, or behaviors that results from interaction with
another individual or a group of people . Social influence is distinct from conformity, power, and

Well when a young child sees something like that they can only think but to go try it themselves
and maybe they will have fun and enjoy themselves. Children that are trying smoking are becoming
younger and younger. Smoking has nothing good to offer to children but health problems later on
in life. Television impacts children the most as far as advertising goes. Many children as young as
three years old recognize brand named products and clothing. When these children spend time
watching so much television they cannot help but be influenced by it; and want what they see.
These children become so obsessed with having what they see on television that they continue to
hassle their parents until they get it Some parents may even have trouble keeping up with the
amount of money theft child thinks that they need so they may have the newest products out there.
These children that are watching more television, are going to want more toys seen in
advertisements and eat more advertised food than children who do not watch as much television

Effects Of Abolish Minimum Wage
Abolish Minimum Wage
According to the Minimum Wage Review 2015, conducted by the Ministry of Business, Innovation
and Employment (MBIE), when the minimum wage was set at $14.75, 74,900 people were
impacted. The same study showed that by increasing the minimum wage by only 5.1% to $15.25 an
additional 77,800 people would be affected and it would cost the Government $22.82million dollars
annually. According to the 2016 Minimum WageReview, again conducted by MBIE, after the
minimum wage was set to $15.25, if they were to increase the minimum wage to $19.25 (still
below the recommended living wage of $20.20) approximately 28,000 people would lose their
jobs and there would be an increased cost of approximately $543.55million dollars annually.
While we all know that a higher than minimum wage income would go a long way towards
raisin economic standards of areas where minimum wage jobs are prevalent, a higher minimum
wage could also have adverse effects as well (Laffer, 2016). For employees, minimum wage
work translates into income, standard of living, education and taxes which make up our entire
economy (Laffer, 2016). For employers, minimum wage creates competitive pressures and
productivity, taxes and living standards for investors, suppliers and employers themselves
(Laffer, 2016). Minimum wage reduces job growth over several years and for every 10% increase
there is a 1 2% reduction in low skilled employment (Neumark, 2015). However, it s not just

Analysis Of Conrad s The Heart Of Darkness
The world a century and a half ago was a radically different place. Not all land in the world had
definite geopolitical boundaries. Many people of more advanced civilizations looked down upon
those with lesser technology. There were still places to be colonized and civilized. Imperialism in
the 1800s and 1900s generally followed five stereotypes. Black peopleare a separate and lesser
species. Natives are generally thought of as being savages. Under the right circumstances, anyone
can lose touch with his/her humanity. Greed can drive people to extremes. Imperialism hurts those
conquering and those being conquered.
The main stereotype presented was that black people are a separate and lesser species. In Conrad s

Besides people dying from war, Europeans in the Congo did not have immunity to the African
diseases so many suffered and died.
Under the right circumstances, anyone can lose his/her humanity. Marlow transplanted himself
into a land nearly the opposite to his home country. England was civilized and unified while the
Congo was neither. Marlow was exposed to death and despair and became a changed man. He
saw human heads posted on stakes and instead of being shocked, he surprised another onlooker
excessively by laughing (Conrad). Instead of one individual losing sight of his humanity, an entire
nation did when the Andrew Jackson sealed the Red Man s problem during his presidency
(Johnson). The American people stood idly by in the name of Manifest Destiny while thousands of
people were forced out of their homeland.
Greed can drive people to extremes. Kurtz was hauled away from his fort in the jungle and
instead of being thankful for being rescued, he could only speak my ivory, my station, my river
(Conrad). Kurtz was lying on his deathbed and was entirely consumed by the thought of losing
material things. Kurtz wanted to stay with his riches so passionately that he sent natives to kill the
people who were supposed to be retrieving him. Another extremely lucrative trade item besides
ivory was sugar which was easily grown in Hawaii. Planters, mostly U.S. citizens, made an effort
to overthrow the queen in order to get Hawaii

Under Armour Business Strategy
Organizational Strategy The rapid success of Under Armour is not a mistake. The company
dominates the performance apparel category. According to Founder Kevin Plank, The mission of
Under Armour is to make technically advanced products that are engineered with superior fabric
construction, to provide proven innovation available to the masses aimed at making athletes
perform better (UnderArmour.com). Under Armour uses many marketing initiatives including
athlete endorsement, product placement, and popular culture which illustrates the success of Under

Under Armour s brand visibility started to spread as more and more collegiate athletic trainers and
athletes started actively seeking out the product. Soon demand flourished (Mullman, 2009). This
word of mouth buzz was perfectly aligned with the marketing strategy put in place by Plank and his
staff. Under Armour has infused their products and their brand image in various visual media
forms, including over a dozen popular television shows and numerous motion pictures (Shank,
2009). The look and appeal of Under Armour was ideal as it was the combination of the intense,
hard core athletic gear that could help with performance coupled with a hip, fresh look that would
be able to appeal to consumers. To differentiate its product line from its competitors Under Armour
leveraged its sophisticated design software, new manufacturing techniques, the latest in material
engineering, and robust information technology systems to produce virtually everything it makes

Introduction:
As computer became more commonly used in universities and research labs in the late 1960s, the
need of having high speed interconnections between computer systems within a small region
generated a new interest of Internet development. The initial motivation for building such
networks was generally to share storage and printers, which were both expensive at the time. Early
Local Area Networks development started in the late 1970 s by enthusiasts and commercial
companies. From that time until the present a variation of LAN s design has been offered in the
marketplace. However, in the late 1980 s people began to recognize Ethernet as the flavor of choice.
The following report will concern only Ethernet.
The figure in appendix shows the basic physical layout of a LAN. As illustrated, a LAN contains
various data equipment that all need to communicate with each other. A data equipment could be a
web server, a printer or a database. Each data equipment constitutes the users of the LAN. The
communication between each device is accomplished by sharing a common Transmission Medium.
The Transmission Medium is typically some type of cable. This cable provides transmit and receive
capability and all needed intelligence. Knowing the physical structure helps us to better understand
the potential requirements when designing a LAN.
When it comes to design a LAN, not only

How Patriotism Has Shaped American Culture
Patriotism is, per definition, devoted love, support, and defense of one s country. Since the
founding of our nation, it has been a prominent part of the American Culture. Patriotism is rooted
in values which include honor, loyalty, and bravery among others. There are many ways that an
American can show their pride. One of the biggest way to prove one s love for the nationis to
joining the military to defend our liberties. In America, there is even a holiday to celebrate
Patriotism. The Fourth of July celebrates America s independence and it often includes the
displaying of the American flag and respective merchandise, parades, political speeches, and
fireworks. Some people display different levels of patriotism and that can be conflicting... Show

In a society where everyone is watching and ready to point fingers, these groups of people may
receive more scrutiny. One example of people who may not display much patriotism is the
immigrant minority group. Devout Americans may think that immigrants and other minorities have
not adapted to the culture and therefore cannot understand American pride. They are often frowned
upon when they lack common knowledge of American history. People use this against them to
support their idea that this group of people may be unpatriotic. However, these immigrants and
minority groups have come to America chasing the American Dream. They have left everything
behind and come to an unknown place with nothing but dreams to become a part of the Land of
the Free. Immigrants seek asylum and citizenship in this great nation, in hopes to make it their
own and enjoy the rights that we celebrate. Moreover, there are true Americans who publicly defy
a sense of patriotism. For instance, when many NFL players decided to take a knee during the
national anthem, many were outraged by their lack of respect for the United States. While many
were angry, others showed solidarity and did the same when they found out the cause they were
speaking out about. Furthermore, when famous singers forget the words to the Star Spangled
Banner, they are always sympathized by the audience and still receive the applause. The

The First Success Factor
As the first success factor, different communication styles lead to conflict. Brett et al. (2006)
emphasized on direct and indirect communication that it could easily create misunderstanding
within the team. One of the example which explained by Brett et al. (2006) is the American
expatriate asked their Japanese team members of do you agree with the ideas? As the result, they
all answered yes, which does not mean they agreed in Japanese cultures but it means they show
their American member respect.
The failure from this case could occur when the American misunderstood the indirect
communication concept by base their country s culture only. Meyer that the team members should
have flexible mind to learn the new cultures and avoid their cultural bias by misinterpretation from
individual s culture (Rizk, 2014). Adler (1997) added that misinterpretation could cause by
inaccurate stereotypes. Through increasing cultural awareness, the team members could improve
the accuracy and make more understanding of the team s norms.
Another aspect is the languages toward the team members could create problems in
misunderstanding and frustration toward the native speakers (Brett et al., 2006). Most of the native
speakers could not say from their mind directly and they need to translate them into easy words
which may lack of some details as well. The language proficiency could enhance the social
interaction between the expatriates and the host country members but it led no evidence of

Shamanism in Korea
Shamanism is the oldest and most important religions in Korea. The music, singing and dance
constitute the most prominent components of their ritual (Kut), having a strong influence on
Korean folk music, and is a part of Korean national heritage as well. Interestingly, the scholar Hahn
Man Young, found that the word nongak (famer s band) in Korean, was originally synonymous
with kut, and both practices use similar instruments in their performances. According to the scholar
Jongsung Yang, the believers think their own mistakes trigger bed things happen, displease and
offend the god or the spirits. So they hire shamans (Mudang female shaman, or Paksu male shaman)
to communicate with deities or ghosts. This includes singing or dancing in order to entertain the
deities, as an invitation to possess the shamans, allowing them to answer people s questions, and
solve problems. It becomes a semi religionin contemporary Korea.
The shaman ritual music shows respect to deities or ghosts, by pleasing them in hope of help
people solve their problems; therefore the Shamanic ritual is usually dramatic and improvised. It
serves for the urban life, for the people who need help from the spirit world, thus its music,
singing, and dancing needs to be understood by civilians. Its mystical peculiarities also make
significant differences from other religions: they do not have religion doctrine; no religious
ancestor, but they do worship many deities, even from other religions (such as

Oryx And Crake Analysis
In the novel Oryx and Crake, written by Margaret Atwood, the author divulges into the numerous
kinds of human relationships including sexual, romantic, and family relations and how certain
scientific methods can corrupt said relations. Atwood explores the question of whether or not
human relations could be free from corporate and scientific manipulation. Jimmy, also known as
Snowman, utilizes most of his energy seeking human connection, whether if it was with his
mother, Sharon, or Oryx, or even Crake (also known as Glenn) and ultimately failing to achieve it.
His mother, Sharon, runs away from her family (for virtuous reasons) leaving Jimmy alone with his
distant father while taking his beloved pet with her. Jimmy attempts to fill this void through a

Upholding Restraint of Trade (ROT) Clauses
The control on restraint of trade (ROT) clauses is designed to protect employees from vindictive
employers, and courts tend to keep that in mind when hearing disputes. The question of
upholding the ROT clauses in favour of the employee or employer by the courts would largely
depend on the facts presented in the each case and the determination of the reasonability of ROT
that would be covered in this paper. The extent to which restraint of trade clauses are legally
allowed varies per jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions, such as the state of California in the US,
invalidate non compete clauses for all but equity stakeholders in businesses. For the purpose of
this comparative study, we will be using Singapore and California to illustrate the differences in
the applicability of ROT and the different outcomes that would arise out of a case study, applying
the different labour law on ROT restrictions in these two countries. 2. Applicability of ROT
Singapore The law regarding restraint of trade clauses in Singapore has been originated from the
case law where it helps in providing guidance on the effectiveness of such clauses. Non compete
clauses during the period of the employment and beyond, the preservation of confidentiality clauses
as well as non solicitation clauses are types of express restraint of trade clauses that are commonly
found in employment contracts in Singapore. However, the existence of such clauses do not
automatically imply that the courts in Singapore will

Beckett did not view and express the problem of Absurdity in any form of philosophical theory (he

artistic language of theatre. In this chapter, I analyse the life situation of Beckett s characters finding
and pointing at the parallels between the philosophical background of the Absurdity and Beckett s

As I have already mentioned in the biography chapter, Beckett read various philosophical treatises;
he was mostly interested in Descartes, Schopenhauer, and Geulincx. These thinkers are the main
sources which influenced and formed Beckett s view of the world as well as his literary writings.

A Summary Of Remember The Alamo
In the December of 1835, during the Texas Revolution, the Alamo was occupied by two hundred
Texan soldiers located near the present day in San Antonio. The Alamo was a church in the middle
of San Antonio. William Travis and James Bowie were the commanders who were prepared to
defend the Alamo from the Mexicans who wanted it back. Unfortunately, the Texan soldiers were
outnumbered to secure the Alamo from General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna by thousands of his
soldiers. The battle was only for thirteen days and Santa Anna slaughtered everyone except for a
few such as a widowed wife named Susanna Wilkerson Dickinson, her infant daughter Angelina,
and the one person who witnessed the final assault and survived named Joe. For the Texans, the
battle of the Alamois an image of brave resistance and a rallying cry in their battle for freedom.
This urged more Texans to join the military and lead the following fight to triumph against
Mexico. The battle cry Remember the Alamo! within Texas culture was a symbol of Patriotic
sacrifice. If we had known about Remember the Alamo! it s all thanks to Joe who came out of
the battle witnessing all of the hardships of the battle. Joe was an African American slave who
became an Alamo Legend. He was born into a slavery from Kentucky in about 1813. He was also
the brother of a well known abolitionist and novelist, William Wells Brown. He was moved to
Missouri and then later to Texas, where he was owned by Colonel William

Union Of Soviet Composers Analysis
The Union of Soviet Composers By forming the creative unions, the state swept away the entire
state art system of the 1920 s, initiating a surge of unity among composers into the Union of Soviet
Composers. Boris Schwarz claims that although joining this Union was voluntary, the political
climate was such that no artist could have afforded not to join, while Simo Mikokonen, writing on
the composer s bureaucracy nearly forty years after Schwarz, instead argues that composers joined
because they believed it would be useful or at least not harmful. Unions seemed to offer benefits
and were obviously different from associations of proletarian artists. While the Party was central to
the creation of the Union, it was then relatively uninvolved in the music scene until the infamous
1936 intervention via Pravda editorial. Mikkonen laments the Party s initial indifference towards
the Composer s Union, focusing on the... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Sons Of Thunder Inc V Borden Case Analysis
Section Two: the Legal Ramifications Mr. Petersen could seek monetary compensation by
litigation or arbitration methods. If Mr. Petersen choices litigation he could file a lawsuit against
me for breach of contract. He could claim I have violated the terms of the written contract by not
continuing to supply him with the same volume and shipment quantity of grapes at the per market
jump price. Mr. Petersen could also claim promissory estoppel on the grounds that he believed my
son was acting as a company agent and I did not dispel that belief; therefore, my son would be
considered authorized to act on my behalf (Restatement (third) of Agency, 2006). If the court
upholds the doctrine of estoppel, then under U.C.C. section 2 306 which governs requirements

Petersen could sue for compensatory damages. Within the Sons of Thunder case, a jury found
the defendant (Borden Inc) to have breach its implied duty of good faith and fair dealing by
terminating the contract and the jury awarded the plaintiff compensatory damages of $412,000,
which the plaintiff would have received if the contract had been fulfilled (Sons of Thunder, Inc
v Borden, Inc, 1997). Thus, Mr. Petersen could seek compensatory damages for lost profits
which would have been gained if the contract had not been breach. Mr. Petersen could also seek
remedies for the breach. The U. C. C. provides laws by which a buyer may obtain remedies for a
breach of sale contract. Under section 2 716, the buy could compel the seller to fulfill the contract
(specific performance) and has the right to recover damages after the contract s cancellation
(U.C.C. В§2 716, 2012). But specific performance mandates by courts are rare (Kubasek, Brennan,
Browne, 2015); therefore, Mr. Petersen should seek compensatory damages for breach of

How Did Kraar Build Love On The B-Line Plot
Sarah Barbeau
Mrs. Love Hilliard
Creative Writing
25 January 2017
Love on the B Line Playwriting is made up of three simple ingredients that make up a delicious
recipe for entertainment. The structure/plot of a play, the characters, and the dialogue from these
characters are all essential parts of a play that make it possible to perform. A play must have each
of these ingredients in order to be a successful treat to its audience. Love on the B Line by Adam
Kraar excels at using the main ingredients in order to make the delicious (literature) piece. The plot
of Kraar s play demonstrates an odd couple reminiscing about their relationship while at their
favorite stop along a train route. Kraar s imagination to create such quirky characters helped ...

Through dialogue, you can learn more about a character through what they say. The dialogue from
Love on the B Line is quite believable because it is similar to conversations heard from other
couples in other writings. Robbie questions, It s 2 A.M. You think I m going to let you go home
alone? (Kraar 316). The couple s conversation with each other heighten their conflict by
reintroducing the issue numerous times within multiple instances. All Robbie wants is for Marie to
stay the night but Marie refuses because her cat has yet to be fed. Marie often introduces and
reintroduces backstory with the dialogue of her character. She tends to repeat events that had
already passed to distract Robbie from thinking about the present. Marie and Robbie share a
common bond within their dialogue that keeps the audience on edge for what s next. Within the
dialogue of the play, the actions of each character steadily move, creating more entertainment for
the audience. From both Robbie and Marie, the verisimilitude of the play is high because of the
realistic actions and thoughts that come within both

John Wilkes Booth s The Lincoln Assassination
The Lincoln Assassination is the most important assassination out of all the four presidents who
have been assassinated. John Wilkes Booth grew up on a farm. His dad, Brutus Booth, was a
famous actor at the time, as was his brother. When John Wilkes Booth grew up, he decided to
become an actor along with his family. Booth was furious when the North beat the South in the
Civil War and he blamed this all on one man: Lincoln. Booth had an original plan to capture
Lincoln, but he failed to be at the spot where they were expecting Lincoln. This leads to the Lincoln
Assassination and how it was planned out and his killers. The first attempt at kidnapping Lincoln
was when Booth and his men were to take him to Richmond and hold him hostage for... Show more

Lincoln saw this time as a way to reunite the North and the South. Vice President Andrew
Johnson took the job as President, but he was a very horrible president. By then, Congress was
getting taken over by a group called the Radical Republicans who they wanted to punish the
South for leaving the Union. Congress then passed a law called the Reconstruction Act and the
people took that act very hard. That was the start of the Klu Klux Klan and they wanted to kill
every black man. Unfortunately they are still around today but not as powerful as back then.
Johnson tried to pass laws, but they were out voted by the Radical Republicans. Then, the
Radical Republicans passed some saying that the people should punish the South for their actions.
Johnson had no power so all those laws went through and he couldn t do a thing about it. It was
then that the Radical Republicans decided to try and impeach Johnson, but that plan failed, but
overall his actions made him a bad president. This paper was to explain the Lincoln Assassination
and how it was planned out and his killers. Booth had an original plan to capture Lincoln before he
assassinated him and the people involved were Samuel Arnold, Michael O Laughlen, John Surratt,
Lewis Powell, George Atzerodt, and David Herold. Booth shot Lincoln on April 15, 1865 on Good
Friday. After Lincoln died, his Vice President Andrew Johnson became president. The Lincoln
assassination is

Literary Analysis Of The Pearl By John Steinbeck
There are such a large number of books in the world that we have soon to discover. Books that
convey huge numbers words that makes a remarkable story that can be significant whether we
notice it or not. This specific story, The Pearl, ventures readers through this twisted story in a little
town in Paz, on the shoreline of the Baja. Kino and, his better half, Juana live on the poor side of
this town with their child named Coyotito. They soon found, as they think, the pearlof the world.
They trust their lives could become better, however must to their dismay the pearl would convey
obliteration and intense changes to their lives forever. The author, John Steinbeck, believes that
greed is a corruption of evil that can only bring... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In Chapter 4 It proclaims, The man behind the desk said. My first offer stands. I still offer 1,000.
I am cheated, Kino cried fiercely. My pearl is not for sale here. I will go perhaps even to the
capitals ( Steinbeck 52). For this reason, it showed the voracious side of Kino as he denies every
one of the offers given towards the pearl. Even when he could ve made a decent amount off from
the pearl buyers. He needed the wealth and he wouldn t stop until he receives every inch of
wealth there was. Another character who longed for similar esteems was the rich doctor. The
doctor was the opposite of a doctor that you would anticipate. He was a perplexing character
who only cared about things such as pleasure and wealth. When Coyotito was ill he wasn t
concern and declined to treat Coyotito. Before long as he found out about Kino s pearl, he talks
as though he proposed on curing Coyotito from the start, however his goals were only to track
the pearl. Particularly in chapter 1, it communicates, No, they never have any money. I, I alone
in the world I am supposed to work for nothing and I am tired of it. See if he has any money
(Steinbeck 11)! Furthermore, Steinbeck affirms that the doctor is so greedy to the point that he
refuses to cure the defenseless newborn child since they are fiscally poor Indians that don t have
much to offer him in return of his services. The doctor s words and how he represents himself

The Sense Of Suspense And Suspense In Get Out
In addition, the camera angles add the suspense of the film. After coming to the realization that
Rose hit a deer, Chris gets out of the car and hears the deer whining in the woods. Chris then goes
to investigate the woods for the deer and Jordan Peele incorporates mysterious music and close up
shots of Chris to create a feeling of suspense for us. We become anxious and become concerned for
Chris s encounter with the deerin the woods. Will the deer still be alive? Will the deer attack
Chris? Chris enters the woods and sees the deer laying on the ground, with its eyes open looking
up at Chris. At first, this scene did not make sense to me, but later on I realized that this scene
symbolized a hit and run. This scene is important because Chris s mother was killed in a hit and
run and when Chris found out that his mother had died, he became emotionally paralyzed. When
Chris went to look in the woods for the deer, he too became paralyzed looking at the dying deer
laying on the ground. The deer symbol is brought up numerous times throughout the film to portray
the hit and run concept. The suspense and mystery created by the camera shots and sound in this
scene allow Get Out to be successfully classified as a psychological thriller.
Additionally, Get Out portrays Chris s mental state in a bewildering scene known as the sunken
place. Missy is a psychiatrist in Get Out and claims that she can help Chris quit smoking. By
including hypnosis into the film, Jordan Peele plays with our

After a little research , one will see that Nigeriais a former British colony. The fact that it is a former colony plays a significant role, because of the texts theme mentioned above. Mr. Ugwu used to live with his family in Lagos, but some changes in Mr. Ugwu s work forced them to move out into the bush. Mrs. Ugwu is very much against it as the life they lived in Lagos was good. By the looks of it, the Ugwu family seem to be a middle class family. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Ugwu s house. In the rush of a moment they are trampling all over Mrs. Ugwu s garden: [...] then in a sudden rush of momentum they are over the ditch and trampling Mrs Ugwu s plants into the red earth (p. 3, l. 112 113). The mob trampling all over the garden is an important symbol. At this point status does not mean anything to the workers, so to show their anger and frustration they destroy the garden. By destroying the garden, they thereby destroy Mr. Ugwu s status. Mr. Ugwu decides to flee, but not to escape the mob. He runs the protect the family that means more to him than any title or status could ever do: When Mr Ugwu hears the chants of the crowd round his veranda, he takes one look at the terrified faces of his wife and children, lifts the bread knife from the table and goes through the empty kitchen [...] He runs until he has no more breath and then he stops, turns and screams abuse in Ibo until he is sure the crowd have heard and are following him. • 3. To My Dear And Loving Husband Essay Marriage: any of the diverse forms of interpersonal union established in various parts of the world to form a familial bond that is recognized legally, religiously, or socially, granting the participating partners mutual conjugal rights and responsibilities... (CITATION) In the definition of marriage there is no mention of love, yet in western civilization, love is considered the deciding factor in taking that leap. Anne Bradstreet wrote in her poem To My Dear and Loving Husband If ever two were one, then surely we. If ever man were loved by wife, then thee; if ever wife was happy in a man, Compare with me ye women if you can (CITATION). Even though she lived in a Puritan home, Bradshaw freely expressed her love for her husband. This expression could have been viewed as just as radical as homosexual marriageis today. One of the biggest phrases people supporting the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, LGBT, movement use is, Love is love. People associated with this movement also ask heterosexuals what they would do if marriage was not allowed to them. Yet the Hindi philosophy says that one marries, and then falls in love. Is the reason America is in such turmoil over the various types of marriage in comparison to other countries because this country loves first, and marries second? If love were taken out of the business deal that marriage essentially is, would America be in less turmoil? America as a country would be better economically and socially if marriage was not ... We used two wands that created positive and negative charges when rubbed together one is blue and the other is white. When we used both wands, the electrometer almost read zero volts throughout the duration of the experiment. This proves that the negativity of the particles on the blue wand were equal to the positive charge of the particles on the white wand; so it cancelled each other out. While using the both wands we encountered an error. The voltage should have been zero when the wands was out the pail and not touching the pail; however the electrometer reading was 3 volt. This is most likely due to a random error in measurement due to a faulty electrometer or pail. The electrometer may have not been sensitive enough to pick up all the charged particles when the wands were not out the pail we should have repeated this so we can get accurate readings. From the 18th century until now for example four philosophers in specific have had similar and contrasting ideas about ethics. Four philosophers that make a great example of this are Immanuel Kant, David Hume, Friedrich Nietzsche and Charlotte Bunch. First off, Kant is an ethical theorist that would be considered a deontologist, which is someone who believes that an action s morality depends on the motive behind it. Rational thought is the one thing that separates us from animals and is our biggest tool of being and existence. That being said, being irrational would be going against the very thing that makes humanity human. That act irrationally in Kant s eyes would be to act immorally and to act immorally is bad in itself. So as humans our duty to ourselves and the rest of humanity is to act in a rational, moral fashion. We can achieve that by acting in a way that involves what Kant considers universal law, which would be act in way that if everyone else in the world acted in the same fashion the world would be content and a livable place. One example of this is the cutting in line example, that if everyone cut in line then there would be no lines and everywhere you go you would end up just fighting your way to the front and this type of society is unfeasible to will yourself to live there. Similarly, David Hume Believe we cannot be 100% positive about cause and effect relationships. These relationships that our mind makes is an inherent trait of humans but Hume believes we can never truly know if something is the exact effect to a caused event. World Changers Justinian and Theodora ruled the Byzantine Empire from 527 to 565 AD, in their time they influenced not only the art of the era, but also the architecture and the church. Byzantine was an extremely diverse culture. It included members from groups around the entire known world at the time and this region brought them together (Brooks). This diversity did lead to conflict once Justinian became emperor due to his intolerance for what he considered paganistic rituals. This lead him to end the Academy and for him or even go so far so to put in place measures that limited the Semitic lifestyle. Theodora was one of the most powerful empresses of the Byzantine era and was wife of Justinian. In her youth she was a prostitute and dancer and this translated into her adulthood as her fighting for women s rights. Justinian claimed to be a Christian Emperor and accomplished many achievements with both the church and with law. The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time. I guess it s a good thing Nikola Tesla did not give up or we would not have AC power. Failure is a fact of life and the lessons learned by failure cannot be taught in any college. The only true failure is the act of giving up. Today I will talk about one of my most epic fails in my real estate business. There are four basic steps to my business plan. They are research, purchase, rehab, and rent. My very first acquisition I had not quite refined my plan and it ended in failure. The remarkable thing is that it was my first lesson in the business. These lessons come often and I continue to recognize them in greater frequency. The first step in my business plan is to find a property in a given area that is destressed and may be for sale. This property may be a foreclosure or it may be owned by a bank. One of the ways to spot a potential property is to drive by the nationhood that you want to purchase property and look for unkept lawns. If the grass is extremely tall this is a good indicator that the property may be in trouble. Once I find a property I have a 1.3 percent rule. The rule is 1.3 percent of the total investment should cover the rent. For example, for a total investment of $100,00.00 I should expect the rent to be around $1300.00 per month. If the neighborhood average rent is below that amount I will not buy the property. Once the initial assessment is done and it meets the 1.3% rule I do thorough inspection of the property to minimize the risk of exceeding the 1.3 percent. One of the main issues I look for is termite damage to the support beams under the house. The next step after all the research is done is to purchase the house. This process can be as daunting as the research. If the property is bank owned or in some sort of foreclosure state ther are some pitfalls to look out for. One of the biggest one is an unclean or unclear title. The property could have many different types of leans against if before it is considered clean. After purchasing the property, the next step is renovation. This ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Effects Of Abolish Minimum Wage Abolish Minimum Wage According to the Minimum Wage Review 2015, conducted by the Ministry of Business, Innovation and Employment (MBIE), when the minimum wage was set at $14.75, 74,900 people were impacted. The same study showed that by increasing the minimum wage by only 5.1% to $15.25 an additional 77,800 people would be affected and it would cost the Government $22.82million dollars annually. According to the 2016 Minimum WageReview, again conducted by MBIE, after the minimum wage was set to $15.25, if they were to increase the minimum wage to $19.25 (still below the recommended living wage of $20.20) approximately 28,000 people would lose their jobs and there would be an increased cost of approximately $543.55million dollars annually. While we all know that a higher than minimum wage income would go a long way towards raisin economic standards of areas where minimum wage jobs are prevalent, a higher minimum wage could also have adverse effects as well (Laffer, 2016). For employees, minimum wage work translates into income, standard of living, education and taxes which make up our entire economy (Laffer, 2016). For employers, minimum wage creates competitive pressures and productivity, taxes and living standards for investors, suppliers and employers themselves (Laffer, 2016). Kurtz was lying on his deathbed and was entirely consumed by the thought of losing material things. Kurtz wanted to stay with his riches so passionately that he sent natives to kill the people who were supposed to be retrieving him. • 25. The Basic Physical Layout Of A Lan Table of Contents Introduction2 Discussion3 Conclusion5 References7 Appendices8 Introduction: As computer became more commonly used in universities and research labs in the late 1960s, the need of having high speed interconnections between computer systems within a small region generated a new interest of Internet development. The initial motivation for building such networks was generally to share storage and printers, which were both expensive at the time. Early Local Area Networks development started in the late 1970 s by enthusiasts and commercial companies. From that time until the present a variation of LAN s design has been offered in the marketplace. However, in the late 1980 s people began to recognize Ethernet as the flavor of choice. The following report will concern only Ethernet. The figure in appendix shows the basic physical layout of a LAN. As illustrated, a LAN contains various data equipment that all need to communicate with each other. A data equipment could be a web server, a printer or a database. Each data equipment constitutes the users of the LAN. The communication between each device is accomplished by sharing a common Transmission Medium. The Transmission Medium is typically some type of cable. This cable provides transmit and receive capability and all needed intelligence. Knowing the physical structure helps us to better understand the potential requirements when designing a LAN. When it comes to design a LAN, not only ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Since the founding of our nation, it has been a prominent part of the American Culture. Patriotism is rooted in values which include honor, loyalty, and bravery among others. There are many ways that an American can show their pride. One of the biggest way to prove one s love for the nationis to joining the military to defend our liberties. In a society where everyone is watching and ready to point fingers, these groups of people may receive more scrutiny. One example of people who may not display much patriotism is the immigrant minority group. Devout Americans may think that immigrants and other minorities have not adapted to the culture and therefore cannot understand American pride. They are often frowned upon when they lack common knowledge of American history. People use this against them to support their idea that this group of people may be unpatriotic. However, these immigrants and minority groups have come to America chasing the American Dream. They have left everything behind and come to an unknown place with nothing but dreams to become a part of the Land of the Free. Immigrants seek asylum and citizenship in this great nation, in hopes to make it their own and enjoy the rights that we celebrate. Moreover, there are true Americans who publicly defy a sense of patriotism. For instance, when many NFL players decided to take a knee during the national anthem, many were outraged by their lack of respect for the United States. While many were angry, others showed solidarity and did the same when they found out the cause they were speaking out about. Furthermore, when famous singers forget the words to the Star Spangled Banner, they are always sympathized by the audience and still receive the applause. The ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The music, singing and dance constitute the most prominent components of their ritual (Kut), having a strong influence on Korean folk music, and is a part of Korean national heritage as well. Interestingly, the scholar Hahn Man Young, found that the word nongak (famer s band) in Korean, was originally synonymous with kut, and both practices use similar instruments in their performances. According to the scholar Jongsung Yang, the believers think their own mistakes trigger bed things happen, displease and offend the god or the spirits. It becomes a semi religionin contemporary Korea. The shaman ritual music shows respect to deities or ghosts, by pleasing them in hope of help people solve their problems; therefore the Shamanic ritual is usually dramatic and improvised. It serves for the urban life, for the people who need help from the spirit world, thus its music, singing, and dancing needs to be understood by civilians. Upholding Restraint of Trade (ROT) Clauses The control on restraint of trade (ROT) clauses is designed to protect employees from vindictive employers, and courts tend to keep that in mind when hearing disputes. The question of upholding the ROT clauses in favour of the employee or employer by the courts would largely depend on the facts presented in the each case and the determination of the reasonability of ROT that would be covered in this paper. The extent to which restraint of trade clauses are legally allowed varies per jurisdiction. Some jurisdictions, such as the state of California in the US, invalidate non compete clauses for all but equity stakeholders in businesses. After coming to the realization that Rose hit a deer, Chris gets out of the car and hears the deer whining in the woods. Chris then goes to investigate the woods for the deer and Jordan Peele incorporates mysterious music and close up shots of Chris to create a feeling of suspense for us. We become anxious and become concerned for Chris s encounter with the deerin the woods. Will the deer still be alive? Will the deer attack Chris? Chris enters the woods and sees the deer laying on the ground, with its eyes open looking up at Chris. At first, this scene did not make sense to me, but later on I realized that this scene symbolized a hit and run. This scene is important because Chris s mother was killed in a hit and run and when Chris found out that his mother had died, he became emotionally paralyzed. When Chris went to look in the woods for the deer, he too became paralyzed looking at the dying deer laying on the ground. The deer symbol is brought up numerous times throughout the film to portray the hit and run concept. The suspense and mystery created by the camera shots and sound in this scene allow Get Out to be successfully classified as a psychological thriller. Additionally, Get Out portrays Chris s mental state in a bewildering scene known as the sunken place. Missy is a psychiatrist in Get Out and claims that she can help Chris quit smoking. By including hypnosis into the film, Jordan Peele plays with our ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
