Water Essay
Water quality management in agricultural catchments, generally, appears to focus on identifying and
reducing nutrient losses from the root zone of intensive farming activities. In recent years, reducing
nutrient loss from root zone and minimizing the impact on farming practices of freshwater bodies has
taken centre stage in this debate (Clothier et al., 2007). To fully understand management options of
water this study will explore the vicious cycle of how on the source, the mode of transportation and
the impact on water catchments (Clothier et al., 2007). Transportation process that take place on water
surfaces is crucial in assessing the impact on freshwater bodies with respect to root zone losses.

However, the amount of nitrate leached from the root is dependent on how it is transported and
transformed on the subsurface. According to Knowles (1982) dentrification process of nitrates
reduces/attenuate flow of nitrates from root zone to water catchment (rivers and lakes). This finding
were later supported by Rivett el., 2008, where he argued that dentrification process minimizes nitrate
influx from areas of high concentration beneath the water table. This process is catalyst by chemical,
physical and biological feature. In addition nutrients and oxidation of carbon act as catalyst to this
process (Rivett et al., 2008). Research show that Current nitrogen attenuation exertions in New
Zealand are focused on recognizing the thorough farms that percolate the major amounts of nitrogen
from the root zone. The continuous organization and moderation practices to minimize the root zone
nitrogen percolation to achieve specific confines. However, the disadvantage of this approach is that it
ignores spatial disparities hydrogeological backgrounds that might increase or decrease. They might
also attenuate leading to a flux in nitrogen level since it moves from the root region to water bodies
and rivers. Nitrogen leached then adds to ground water and influences movement and conversion of
nitrogen in the underground environment.
Leaching and cycling of nitrates in different profile of soil is well understood, however

The Relationship Between Politics And Administration In...
The idea of civil service dates back to ancient times. But bureaucracy is modern terms that evolved
with the emergence of Public Administration as an academic field. Politics administration dichotomy
is one of the most important factor in the Study of Public Administration by Woodrow Wilson in 1887
(Afegbua: 2013). Nature of administration, the extent of work by bureaucracy and many other issues
are characterized by the relationship between politics and administration. Bangladesh has experienced
different forms of government regime from military autocratic to democratic republic. Before
liberation, it experienced government system under British Colonialism and government by Pakistan
as it was part of Pakistan earlier. Due to the variation in the forms of government the relations between
politics and administration were also different.
The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) is one of the most important pillars of the National
Integrity System having a key role in promoting excellence and integrity in the public service and
administration of the country. PSC s independence, political neutrality, transparency, accountability,
integrity and effectiveness are fundamental prerequisites for carrying out its functions which include
holding of competitive examinations for recruitment to the public service, recommend recruitments,
promotions, discipline, employee appeal and other related matters. Lack of credibility and integrity of

Public Vs. Public Schools
Larry Boots
Public vs Non Public School Labor Markets
Private versus public education, good versus bad, rich versus poor. A debate that has greatly impacted
our society for centuries. Guided by inaccurate perceptions of each side, society has created a
misunderstanding of the two types of education and what they represent, resulting in a competitive
teacher labor market for public and private schools K 12. With the question, is there a difference
between teaching in a public or private school? If so, which one has the advantage in the labor
market?
Growing up in a town that offered two high schools, one private and the other public, I was given the
opportunity to gain knowledge on how people perceived the two schools, and what impact ... Show

Every parent wants their child to receive the best education possible, in preparation for the future. This
leads to the question, what factors determine a school more desirable for receiving an education? If
every student is presented with the same material, then what is difference between attending a public
high school versus a private high school? Both of these questions can be answered with one simple
word, teachers. Like any other occupation, the employer is looking to find the best candidate suitable
for a certain position. Schools are looking to find the best teachers to employ in hopes of increasing
student achievement, resulting in a good overall reputation of the school. Thus creating a competitive
labor market for teachers.
History:
Schooling in America originated in the 18th century, with the creation of privatized schooling.
Selective students were given the opportunity to study various subjects. Most of the students who
were given an opportunity to attend school at that time were white and came from wealthy families,
and unlike today, most of the teachers were male. The formation of public schools didn t happen until
the 1840 s, which was created by the government in effort to provide education to those who could not
afford it at the time. The most qualified teachers were often found teaching in the private schools,
leaving the less qualified teachers in the public schools.

Phil Jackson And Buddhism Essay
Buddhism is a major Asian religion studied and practiced in countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand,
Vietnam and Cambodia. Although Buddhism is a growing religion throughout the world, in particular,
the practice of meditation is spreading in the West. The United States has a center for Buddhists in
Hawaii and New York and also a Buddhist community has been established in California. (Hewitt, 13
14) But even closer to home for most is the practicing of Zen Buddhism on the basketball court by
former Chicago Bulls and present Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson. In this essay I will discuss
how Jackson has incorporated some of the practices of Zen Buddhism into his and the players of his
teams lives and how it has been effective for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It s often an uphill fight. The ego driven culture of basketball, and society in general, militates against
cultivating this kind of selfless action, even for members of a team whose success as individuals in
tied directly to the group performance. Our society places such a high premium on individual
achievement, it s easy for players to get blinded by their own self importance and lose a sense of
interconnectedness, the essence of teamwork.
In this passage Jackson incorporates some very important fundamental Buddhist ideas. One of the
aspects of the Eightfold Path, or the Middle Way , which Buddha said was the cure of suffering, Right
Thought is the basis of this statement. In the introductive book Buddhism Catherine Hewitt spends
three pages (4 6) discussing the aspects of the Eightfold Path. She says that Right Thought is when
Buddhists, strive to think unselfishly and compassionately. Jackson is saying that in our Western way
of living, the self is everything. We are constantly worried about how things will effect us (ourselves)
instead of as a community, society, or team; where we are going and for others to get out of our way
not thinking that they might have somewhere to be too; and also in reflection of the team structure,
how we are going to make that

Similarities Between Tateh And Emma Goldman s Ragtime
Before reading Ragtime, I knew almost nothing about society and the attitude of the people of the
early 20th century. Each of the characters in the novel informed me of different ideas and issues that
arose during this time period. These include Tateh, the socialist; Emma Goldman, the anarchist;
Coalhouse Walker, the man who demanded justice; and Mother. The inclusion of each of these
characters significantly helped me picture the 1900 s. Tateh and Emma Goldman both provided insight
into the politics during this time. The American working class was extremely unhappy with their
condition. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average American working in the cotton
industry in 1910 made 12.35 cents per hour, which is about $3.09 today. Tateh and Emma both wanted
conditions to prove. Emma, as an anarchist, thought that violence was necessary in order to achieve
this. Tateh just thought that all of the workers should help run the major companies. To me, socialism
and anarchy do not seem like sustainable and practical ideals, but the working class had no options
before the minimum wage was set. The Textile Mill Strike of 1912 showed just how little the workers
were respected. Tateh, being a member of the protests, was an instrumental member of the call for
change. Emma Goldman, giving her speeches and writing her books, was also ... Show more content

The Carson Show
One of the greatest talk shows of all time, The Tonight show has been entertaining Americans for
more than 60 years. The show, produced by NBC Productions, first hit the air under the name Tonight
in 1954. The show then settled on the name The Tonight Show in 1962. Among the name change there
were many additional changes that have taken place in the shows running. The show originally had
two openings, one for a news affiliate that began at 11:15 p.m. EST and another for those viewers who
joined in at 11:30. In 1965, then host Johnny Carson refused to appear until 11:30, thus the show s
start time changed to 11:30 p.m. EST. This was not the only time that the shows aired time had

Each host brought a unique flare to the show, however there are four hosts; Jonny Carson, Jay Leno,
Conan O Brien and Jimmy Fallon, that gave the show its superior qualities, making it the longest
airing talk show of all time. Carson who hosted the show from 1962 to1992 is the longest serving host
to date. He was the Gold Standard of hosts. He exemplified charisma and depth. He could do political
and social commentary, comedy skits and handle all kinds of interviews from the serious to the silly.
Carson served as the role model for all other American talk show hosts who followed him. Leno who
hosted the show from 1992 to 2009 replaced Carson after he retired. The format of the show remained
largely unchanged, consisting primarily of an opening humorous monologue, followed by several
celebrity interviews, comedy sketches and musical numbers. Though I don t feel Leno was as comical
as Carson and his interview skill were lacking, he had an aura that drew people in. This likability is
what causes him to receive a second tenure from 2010 to 2014, after O Brien left the network due to

I remember I would have to study a lot because if my grade went down I would get grounded and my

How Did The Treaty Of Versailles Punish Germany
The Treaty of Versailles is a peace treaty, where it basically punishes Germany. It makes them
powerless to a point that they cannot be able to create another war. This treaty was way too harsh on
the Germans. It is a fact that they were not the only ones fighting in the war, and they should not be
the only one, who should be punished. Everyone must take responsibilities for their drastic decisions.
All of the major countries had a role in this war, not only Germany. The Germans were stripped down
of everything they had. It left Germans helplessly and made to live in poverty. In order to pay off the
damages that were made, they were treated like slaves. Instead of making peace with Germany, the

Explanation Of The Bayeux Tapestry
The Bayeux Tapestry The Bayeux Tapestry (1070 80, Fig. 1) is, in fact, not a tapestry at all. It is a
piece of linen cloth embroidered with wool thread, that measures about 200 feet in length and three
feet in width. The cloth is embroidered with images, ranging from battle scenes (Fig. 2) to banquets
(Fig. 3) to Halley s Comet (Fig. 4). The colors are muted, including dark blue, yellow, rust red, grey,
and green. The proportions are unnatural and there seems to be no care given to liner perspective or
scale; instead, the work seems to focus on developing a cohesive narrative. The figures are flat and
expressionless, yet they have a sense of movement and purpose as they move from one scene to
another. The figures have a believable space, which is especially vivid in the battle scenes, as the
figures appear to fall over one another in a animated struggle. The transition from one scene to the
other is fluid and the story line is easy enough to follow. The tapestry is divided into three sections, the
top, middle and bottom. Each section appears to have its own independent, though complementary,
narrative. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Abstract
This paper defines schizophrenia from a biological and psychological perspective and also provides
treatment to help combat symptoms of schizophrenia. This paper has three important contributions.
First, by defining and expanding on schizophrenia from a biological perspective, I can identify the
nature related predispositions. After expanding from a biological approach, secondly, I will analyze
schizophrenia from a psychological aspect by determining if there is any environment or nurturing
externals that can result to schizophrenia. Lastly, I will provide treatment details and also reveal early
signs to schizophrenia. This paper is important because schizophrenia is an epic mental disease and it
is crucially important to bring awareness to the public of how we can limit the illness. It is unclear
whether schizophrenia have only a biological background or psychological background, but what was
discovered is that both contribute to schizophrenia. Positive and negative treatment can be combatted
undergoing pharmaceutical and psychotherapy,
Basis

The Key Aspects Of The Relationship Between Poverty And...
This policy report will identify and discuss the evidence towards the key aspects of the relationship
between abuse and neglect and the greater economic hardship which will have an impact on poverty
and how this affects the chance of a child being abused or neglected. Looking at the evidence it is
clear to see that there is a strong link associated between poverty and a child suffering from abuse and
neglect.
Introduction and context
According to NSPCC there are more than 50,000 children in the UK are abused and neglected
annually, this estimates that there are 8 children suffering abuse for every one child that is identified.
This is a strong link between socio economic circumstances of families and the chances of the child
experiencing abuse and neglect. This association extends across all developed countries, different
types of abuse and culture variation depending on the culture however definitions and research
methods deem equal to both poverty and child protection systems.
The families socio economic circumstances affect the relationship across the whole of society and not
just a simple divide of poverty. This then has a poor outcome in relation to the child s inequalities to
health and education and provides a link between the likelihood of abuse and neglect with the greater
economic hardship.
The World Health Organization (WHO) defines child abuse as all forms of physical and/or emotional
ill treatment, sexual abuse, neglect or negligent treatment or commercial

Faraday s Law Of Electromagnetic Induction
ABSTRACT This lab is performed to analyze and understand Faraday s law of electromagnetic
induction and also its application in different magnetic components using Faraday s Electromagnetic
Lab simulation software 2.07. In this lab we understand the properties of the bar magnet, the basic
electromagnet and also the electromagnetic induction in transformers. In the basic electromagnet, we
observe the movement of the electronics both in AC and DC current source and compare the
movement of electronics in those conditions. For better understanding of the electromagnetic
induction in transformers, we observe the brightness of the bulb by changing the number of the loops
in the coil, varying the magnitudes of the input ac current and also varying frequency.
INTRODUCTION
Faraday s law: A time varying current produces a magnetic field, and a time varying magnetic field
produce an electric current. The magnetic field intensity is linearly related to the current which
produces it. The current can be produced by an alternating magnetic field and that a time varying
magnetic field can induce a voltage, or an EMF, in an adjacent circuit. This voltage is proportional to
the rate of change of magnetic flux linkage, or magnetic flux, or current, producing magnetic field.[1]
Faraday s law of induction states that emf is induced whenever the magnetic flux linkage changes. We
can also say that emf is induced in the conductor whenever the conductor cuts magnetic flux, and the

The Parthenon Essay
The ancient Greek civilization contributed many great new ideas and aspects to everyday life that
shaped and inspired the modern day society. The Greeks are well known for their construction of
temples, acropolis and other grand architectural structures. Among these structures stood one of the
most famous, the Parthenon. The Parthenon was a symbol of Greek society and culture as it stood as
one of Greece s most important architectural buildings. Besides being the Athenians greatest
architectural achievement, the Parthenon serves a basic purpose. The Parthenon is a temple devoted to

As a cause of this relationship, the Parthenon plays a trick and strikes an illusion to the eye. Greek
architects Ictinus and Callicrates erected the temple atop the southern flank of the acropolis, the
central hill of the Greek city state which was used for defensive and religious purposes, then in
seventeen years, Ictinus and Callicrates completed the decorations of the Parthenon (Harper OL). The
Parthenon is made entirely of a marble from Mount Pentelicus called Pentelic marble and stands
approximately eighteen meters high. The selections made for the material of the Parthenon were
chosen with many points considered to ensure a strong and sturdy future. The Parthenon was
commissioned by Pericles sometime after Greek victories over the Persians between 490 and 480 BC
(Glancey 26, 27). During the Persian Greek wars, Athens believed that Athena watched over them and
that she helped them throughout the war. The Parthenon represents the wealth, power, society, and
culture of Athens. The building of the Parthenon cost the Athenians four hundred and sixty nine
talents, which symbolized Athens as wealthy.

Male African And Asian Elephants Essay
than men (740). This suggests that women seek a large group of good friends while men are content
with a small amount of high quality friends. Simply put, women prefer to travel in herds. Much like
what one can observe in wildlife, females are found in large packs while males are either solo or in a
small group. Dr. Kathleen Brown, a visiting assistant professor of Claremont McKenna College,
further clarifies this idea. Through a phone interview that I conducted with Dr. Brown, she explained
that her graduate research project focused on mammalian residential patterns and the psychological
reasoning behind it. Male African and Asian elephants, she asserts, stray from the herd at a juvenile
age. From there, they form a small and dynamic bachelor herd. This very behavior can be found
amongst wild horse herds as well. While the females travel in large bands, small stallion bachelor
groups are formed in which the male horses reside. Dr. Brown draws parallels among these animals
with juvenile human men. She concludes that, at the onset of puberty, it is in the mammalian essence
for men to be less social creatures than women. Through Dr. Brown s research, one surmises that as a
mammalian male matures, he subconsciously limits the amount of friends with which he surrounds
himself. Not only are women more inclined to conjugate in groups, they are much more driven by the
affirmation that friendships provide. In Friendships and Adaptation Across the Life Span, Willard

Those who give little credit to incapacitation could claim this to be mere coincidence, while those who
support it say the crime reducing effect of incapacitation takes time. Rehabilitation assumes criminal
behavior can be improved with non punitive methods. Rehabilitation, although non punitive, usually
occurs along side punishment. For instance an incarcerated person may be given many rehabilitative
options. Mental health programming, substance abuse counseling and even education programming
exist in modern day correctional facilities. A judge may sentence someone to attend rehabilitative
programming as a part of probation or it may be included as a stipulation in a plea agreement. At the
core of rehabilitation is the thought that a criminal is flawed, often through no fault of their own.
Poverty, mental health issues, or childhood trauma may all contribute to a criminal life and
rehabilitation attempts to aid in a sort of recovery. If a person is cured of their issues, perhaps they will
not fall back into their previous pattern. (Siegel Senna, 2005). Similar to rehabilitation is the idea of
restoration. While rehabilitation is through non punitive means, restoration is the idea that punishment
helps to promote a moral sense. This theory believes the shame associated with punishment may cause
a criminal to see the error of their ways. A very

to be increasing due in part to our society becoming more health aware.1 The pain begins with
increased tension or stiffness in the muscles of the posterior neck, with varying levels of pain that
begin to spread to other areas of the body over time. The positioning of the head towards protraction,
pushing forward the shoulders, and an increase in spine inclination is the cause of the pain. If this pain

We would then improve our commercial, industrial, scientific and professional status in the world and
perhaps improve the calibre of our future politicians and other personnel in governing authorities.
Sad indictment of council s culture policy
From: Alice Sheepshanks, Arthington, near Leeds.
AS the air reverberates with the sound of rock from the Leeds Festival, at Bramham, I sorely lament
the lack of some culture and hope most sincerely that next year it will be possible for Leeds City
Council to support the Leeds Shakespeare Festival again.
It is so important to cater for all tastes, and not just to bow to the lowest common denominator. I
believe wholeheartedly that Shakespeare can be appreciated by all ages and classes, particularly if
performed by this most skilful and dedicated troupe, the British Shakespeare Company.
I have taken my two children (now aged 12 and 14) to the performances at Kirkstall Abbey since they
were quite small. They adored the spectacle, the language, the plot it was a marvellous opportunity for
them.
I feel desperately sad that this year they can wander about at Bramham and listen to the thundering
sound of Metallica and Tenacious D (which they love) but The Tempest or A Midsummer Night s
Dream are out of the question.
What a sad indictment on Leeds City Council.

Ghostwood Research Paper
What is GhostFood? My perception and interpretation of GhostFood have undoubtedly evolved more
times than I can count. Participating in public art and engaging with strangers from various
backgrounds has been a bizarre, risky, yet enlightening experience that I have found academically
enriching and personally impactful. The very strangeness of GhostFood has thrusted me into the
culturally colorful, yet much to be explored and understood Baltimore. Hovering around the sterile
white food truck, curious bystanders squint at the menu and inquisitively ask, What is GhostFood? It
is a question that I have repeatedly been probed throughout the course of the semester. A standard
answer that I or another server would say: GhostFood serves post extinction ... Show more content on

I was, too. Location and environment tremendously affect and influence a public art project.
GhostFood creates a safe space for observers to experience something completely new, and serve to
open discussion for anyone converse about their experiences. As Officer Moody, a security guard at
Lexington Market, mentioned, GhostFood breaks barriers. Moody wanted everyone, especially
younger Baltimoreans to try it, because she knew one day they would not be able to. In this case, food
served as a platform for discussion. Any person can form an opinion if something tasted good, or how
a peanut butter jelly sandwich can be memorable and integral part of his or her life. People come from
different backgrounds but food is relatable. To a different degree, the interconnections between food
and unrelated subjects can be surprising, controversial, and eye opening. GhostFood, in my opinion,
was successful in creating meaningful conversations through sensational and though provoking
sensational experiences; however, it has only come to the tip of the iceberg in addressing the many
questions that has come out of

Theories Of Leadership And Leadership Theories
Introduction
In today s world, leaders are not defined by age, race or gender. They can be a high school basketball
coach, the shift supervisor at the local coffee shop, or even the President of the United States of
America. In as many ways that leaders can vary by appearance and responsibility, there is also a
variance in the ways that they lead. This case study aims to compare three of the more popular
theories of leadership. These leadership theories are situational leadership, trait theory and
transformational leadership.
Summary of Theories
Situational leadership, developed by professor Paul Hersey and author and consultant Ken Blanchard.
Their approach was based off of a 1967 article by W.J. Reddin called The 3 D Management Style
Theory. In his article, Reddin discusses the need to have different styles based on the demands of the
leader. A leader needs to be flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the job, their superior and
their subordinates (1967). Hersey and Blanchard progressed this theory by introducing the Situational
Leadership II model. Their model breaks leadership into four different styles, and how a leader must
alter their approach in supporting and directing their subordinates based on a given situation. These
styles are directing (S1), coaching (S2), supporting (S3) and delegating (S4). The model also focuses
on the development level of the subordinates by categorizing them between low (D1), moderate (D2
and D3) and

A Campaign Against Kfc
1) I personally do not support KFC Corporation or People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals in this
controversy. This is because I myself am not a fan of meat and do not like the taste personally, but I
also do not think it is all right by any means with what they do to the animals. I believe that they are
completely abusing these animals so carelessly and it is extreme animal cruelty. I feel like a majority
of other people would say it is perfectly fine though. This is because many people do like meat and
businesses are going to continue on harming the animals and receiving their meat and selling it to
make profit. People will always continue to buy it because places are providing it for them and they
like the taste and look past with ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
PETA is also trying their best to make a big deal out of this and draw as much attention as possible for
the animal s own rights and simply to raise awareness on the ongoing problem. I think PETA is
representing a truth with the business and they do have the right to make attacks to get them to make
the change.
6) I absolutely 100% believe that animals have rights because they are alive just like us human beings
are. Animals definitely have emotions and feelings just like we do and can also speak out lout but we
necessarily cannot always figure out what they are trying to portray. I believe since we are human
beings, we should be the ones to make sure animals are safe and can live without being harmed in the
wild or as pets, in other words that can be looked at as our duty.
From the reading of the case and how PETA portrayed KFC being cruel and not handling their
chickens respectfully, I do not think that they protect animal welfare at an acceptable level. They can
definitely make they changes that PETA stated about the business. Either way, many people are going
to have different perspectives about this and may think that what KFC is doing is completely fine
because they are making

Color In Ex Machina
Akhil John
Professor Scott
Humanities 200

Ex Machina: The role of Color The movie Ex Machina directed by Alex Garland portrayed what true
artificial intelligence would be like and how that would affect the human race. Garland s work with Ex
Machina painted a picture on what true Artificial Intelligence would be like, a self aware, thinking,
manipulative robot that have traits highly resembling human traits and character that highly resembles
human character. Garland uses color in very subtle ways to add to the complexity of his masterpiece
making his movie have deeper meaning. In the movie Garland uses color, in order to convey the
traditional expressions of each character and the plot as a whole. The use of the color of t shirt a caleb
is wearing at a certain point brings about the detail in his feelings and the expression he has. For
instance Caleb initially is seen to wear a blue and red t shirt. The juxtaposition of red and blue which
is seen throughout the film highlights to what extent a character feels uncertain and anxious. This is
evident as after Caleb has won the competition , he is unsure how to feel and is nervous. As Caleb gets
the job, he starts wearing a lot of blue toned ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Nathan most of the time is shown to wear black clothes which resembles wealth, power and formality.
He is at his most true state when he is wearing black clothes in contrast to when he is wearing grey
clothes he is trying to move away from his personality of excessive drinking and tries to sober up. He
is shown wearing white clothes which suggests purity, peace and love when discussing with Caleb
about his research on Ava showing how he is passionate about his work but also shows that he is
playing the role of God creating artificial intelligence. Garland effectively uses color again to
represent the characters and to show the emotional progressions they go

The Importance Of Creating A Business Website
Creating a business website can play a huge impact on your business. It helps establish the
background of your business. By having a secured website it shows people the kind of business it
presents to its customers. In this paper it will present the different ways to create a successful business
website.
First thing you want to do when creating a business is create a domain name. A domain name is the
name of the website. It ranges from 10 to 12 dollars to maintain the domain name every year. Next the
business should get a personalized business email, just in case people want to come in contact with the
business. Secure a business email and not a personal email for the business. Then next you want to
choose a website builder to get the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also make navigation through the website easy. Make navigation clear and simple on every page
(Fadeyev 2008).
A strategy to take mind of when creating a business website is to think of your competitors who sell or
do the same thing as the business. A strategy would be is to make yourself different than other
competitors, because 9 times out of 10 the customer is going to go to the business website that offers
more and is different. Being different is the key when creating a website because being different the
business can offer more value than its competitors (Fadeyev 2008).
Another Strategy for creating a business website is to choose a template and plugins for your website.
The business should choose a certain software for the website and a host for the website. Choosing a
template for the website will give your website the way the business want it to feel.
Next thing to do in order to have a successful business website is organize your website. Organizing
your website includes the logo usage, and how other visual effects are displayed on the website
feature. The business should organize and set the structure of information on your website to give you
good flexibility. Another way to have a successful website is to have good content. The content should
be appealing to the visitors and have the right kind of information about the

Santana
Introduction
My heart is open to complement. Not to compete. Santana (Cobo, 2004). They were just a group of
young man, inspired by B. B. King to play music. With a guitarist that could blow people away with
his new kind of rock and roll. Santana helped impact rock and roll with a new kind of rock, also
earning nine Grammy awards and other awards, and getting a place in the Rock and Roll hall of fame,
making them unique from most bands in the 20th century.
Childhood
Santana had a lot of things that happened during his childhood that made him who he is today. Carlos
started on the violin, because his father was a mariachi violinist, and he educated Carlos on music

music. Santana with always be remembered for being one of the greats. References

Essay about Hockey-The Rodney Dangerfield Of Sports
Hockey, The Rodney Dangerfield Of Sports
In the US, there are four major sports; football, baseball, basketball, and hockey. Out of the four,
hockey gets the least amount of respect. This is something that bothers me as hockey player and fan,
and it also bothers other hockey fans around the country. They way that hockey is covered in the
newspapers, on television, and not just professional hockey. It goes the same for college hockey and
also high school hockey.
Lets start at the top with the NHL. The NHL has a TV deal with ESPN and ABC so that the two
companies share the Stanley Cup Finals. The NHL s championship series. (It should also be noted that
ABC owns ESPN). The ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It was about a week ago when the Devils were playing Toronto in the second round. The game was on
ESPN for people to watch in all parts of the country except the Tri State area. Here, we are expected to
watch the game on the Devils local station, which happens to be FOX Sports Net NY. The only
problem with this is that my cable deal doesn t give me FOX Sports Net NY, therefore I was unable to
watch a very entertaining game. Even the other three sports have their first round games on network
television. But some people who even have cable, can t watch a first round game of hockey in the
playoffs.
Also, the way that the NHL is covered in the newspapers and on TV is different to that of other sports.
When you read the newspaper the only time that you will see a hockey game make the front page of
the sports section is in the local paper when the local team is winning. If they are not winning or not in
the playoffs, you will not read much about hockey. And the same thing goes for the newscasts . When
they do the sports, the only time that they will talk about hockey first is if the local team had a big win
or is in the playoffs.
These problems aren t just in the NHL and professional. It also goes down to college hockey. If you
live in this area, the only time you will be able to watch c college hockey game is during the Final
Four. Which, ironically, is also

My Reflection On My Nursing Journey
My Nursing Journey I once heard someone say, Find something you love to do and you ll always be
successful. If you want to be in a field where you are continually learning, nursing would be the top
pick. This paper will reflect the journey I have taken from Registered Nurse (RN) to Bachelor of
Science in Nursing (BSN) with the incorporation of my learning objectives from my clinical course.
Although, I ve been in healthcare for over 20 years, working as a medical assistant, I believe my
journey truly began with nursing school. It is one thing to do a job that you have been shown to do,
but it becomes different as I now understand why these processes are done as well as the physiological
implications. The journey to get to this point had felt like a lifelong one with many disappointments
and struggles along the way. However because of the knowledge I now have, I wouldn t change a
thing as I consider it extremely valuable.
My clinical experience for this semester was an opportunity to follow the house supervisor at Trios
Healthcare in Kennewick, WA. The courses at Washington State University (WSU) consisting of
leadership and management have taught me the value of collaboration as well as communication. With
the opportunity to follow the house supervisor I was able to apply this knowledge to my clinical
experience. This was especially good because one of my learning objectives was to participate in the
management of admissions and transferring patients in the

Middle Ages Inventions
How the Middle Ages made our lives easier
The Middle Ages, often called the Dark Ages, was famous for its numerous inventions. They had a
variety of weapons and tools. Their inventions helped them with everyday life and some we still use to
this day. Simple tools were used to make these inventions. Most inventions were made for everyday
life but some were made for war.
The inventions in the middle ages impacted everyday life. The invention of the clock provided closer
structure to daily life. The wheelbarrow allowed faster monenent of heavy loads from place to place, it
is used today for gardening and farmwork, as a couple of examples of how we use the wheelbarrow in
today s world. Farming inventions enabled the people of the Middle Ages to increase their food
production to feed a growing population. One of the other inventions that helped feed a growing
population was the plough. It made tilling of the land for crops easier in the Middle Ages. Nautical
inventions were one of the areas that saw the most impressive developement, from navigation to
steering, power, and everything about the way boats and sailors worked together changed. ... Show

Europe. Inventions include gunpowder, which led the invention of the cannon. The tack we use today
were invented during the time period for the knight to fight battles more efficiently on their horses.
Tack includes the stirrup, bridle, and bit. Chainmail and armour was used to provide even more
protection against the enemy s blade. Some other weapons that were invented at this time was the
lance, longbow, the crossbow, and flail. Tools that were invented during the Middle Ages to help build

Law Enforcement Of The United States
Juan Lopez
Ms. Dennaoui
English 12
23 April 2015
Law Enforcement Imagine if there was no type of law enforcement code for a month in your city.
Crime rates will be at an all time high. People would have no sort of protection or stability. There
would also be no one to control the people; no one will ensure peace amongst the people. Thanks to
our police officers all of these possible dangerous situations are kept under control on a daily basis.
Police officers put their lives on the line each day to ensure peace and protection to the public.
Law enforcement has been around for centuries, providing aid and assisting the people. Communities
first developed watch systems composed of volunteers whose primary duty was to warn people of
impending danger. ( The History of Policing ) The law enforcement program in the United States
closely followed that of England at the time. Law enforcement in the United States began on April
1631 in Boston: Boston created a night watch in 1636, New York in 1658 and Philadelphia in 1700.
The night watch was not a particularly effective crime control device. Watchmen often slept or drank
on duty. While the watch was theoretically voluntary, many volunteers were simply attempting to
evade military service, were conscript forced into service by their town, or were performing watch
duties as a form of punishment. ( The History of Policing )
The program consisted of both appointed officers and volunteers. The tasks of these early officers

Five Themes In Slaughterhouse Five
In the book Slaughterhouse Five, Vonnegut s purpose of creating and alternative, structure of time and
Tralfamadorian s was to mix descriptions of historic Dresden and his personal wartime experiences.
Vonnegut uses Tralfamadorian fantasy and bits from his earlier fiction to create a meaningful story and
give understand of how Vonnegut felt when he was in war. Vonnegut uses a stream of events to
express the difficult time Billy goes through when trying to fully adapt to the Tralfamadorian s
involvement with the Dresden Bombing. Throughout the story Billy jumps in time. Every individual
moment in time happens at the exact same time as every other moment, so the past, the present, and
the future are illusions. Billy s time jumping is caused by his PTSD that he got from being a part of
the Dresden Bombing. Vonnegut uses Billy s time traveling is his experiencing what all
Tralfamadorian s experience. They see there consequences and repercussions of their actions at the
time they happen. That s the point of Billy s time travel. To show that humans don t see the whole
picture, that we don t know what our consequences will be. The point is if humans didn t see the
whole picture they wouldn t do things like the bombing of Dresden. Vonnegut uses both Billy and
Tralfamadorian s to demonstrate this. Slaughterhouse Five is filled with symbols or motifs that are
recurring throughout the whole story. The motif I see most recurring is so it goes the phrase Billy says
after someone dies in the story, equalizing all of them, whether they are natural, accidental, or
intentional. they are on a massive scale or a personal one. Billy uses this saying to say that this one
bad thing happening by all of these other good moments does not make it something to be sad about
and dwell on. So it goes this phrase is saying that stuff happens in life. People die and life just needs to
keep going on and not be stopped for lives that have stopped that if your life is still going you should
keep going. This phrase shows a comfort in the Tralfamadorian idea that although a person may be
dead in a particular moment, that he or she is alive in all the other moments of their life and can be
visited over and over through time travel. For

  • 2. Water Essay Water quality management in agricultural catchments, generally, appears to focus on identifying and reducing nutrient losses from the root zone of intensive farming activities. In recent years, reducing nutrient loss from root zone and minimizing the impact on farming practices of freshwater bodies has taken centre stage in this debate (Clothier et al., 2007). To fully understand management options of water this study will explore the vicious cycle of how on the source, the mode of transportation and the impact on water catchments (Clothier et al., 2007). Transportation process that take place on water surfaces is crucial in assessing the impact on freshwater bodies with respect to root zone losses. Transportation process in this study ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... However, the amount of nitrate leached from the root is dependent on how it is transported and transformed on the subsurface. According to Knowles (1982) dentrification process of nitrates reduces/attenuate flow of nitrates from root zone to water catchment (rivers and lakes). This finding were later supported by Rivett el., 2008, where he argued that dentrification process minimizes nitrate influx from areas of high concentration beneath the water table. This process is catalyst by chemical, physical and biological feature. In addition nutrients and oxidation of carbon act as catalyst to this process (Rivett et al., 2008). Research show that Current nitrogen attenuation exertions in New Zealand are focused on recognizing the thorough farms that percolate the major amounts of nitrogen from the root zone. The continuous organization and moderation practices to minimize the root zone nitrogen percolation to achieve specific confines. However, the disadvantage of this approach is that it ignores spatial disparities hydrogeological backgrounds that might increase or decrease. They might also attenuate leading to a flux in nitrogen level since it moves from the root region to water bodies and rivers. Nitrogen leached then adds to ground water and influences movement and conversion of nitrogen in the underground environment. Leaching and cycling of nitrates in different profile of soil is well understood, however ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. The Relationship Between Politics And Administration In... The idea of civil service dates back to ancient times. But bureaucracy is modern terms that evolved with the emergence of Public Administration as an academic field. Politics administration dichotomy is one of the most important factor in the Study of Public Administration by Woodrow Wilson in 1887 (Afegbua: 2013). Nature of administration, the extent of work by bureaucracy and many other issues are characterized by the relationship between politics and administration. Bangladesh has experienced different forms of government regime from military autocratic to democratic republic. Before liberation, it experienced government system under British Colonialism and government by Pakistan as it was part of Pakistan earlier. Due to the variation in the forms of government the relations between politics and administration were also different. The Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) is one of the most important pillars of the National Integrity System having a key role in promoting excellence and integrity in the public service and administration of the country. PSC s independence, political neutrality, transparency, accountability, integrity and effectiveness are fundamental prerequisites for carrying out its functions which include holding of competitive examinations for recruitment to the public service, recommend recruitments, promotions, discipline, employee appeal and other related matters. • 4. Public Vs. Public Schools Larry Boots Public vs Non Public School Labor Markets Private versus public education, good versus bad, rich versus poor. A debate that has greatly impacted our society for centuries. Guided by inaccurate perceptions of each side, society has created a misunderstanding of the two types of education and what they represent, resulting in a competitive teacher labor market for public and private schools K 12. With the question, is there a difference between teaching in a public or private school? If so, which one has the advantage in the labor market? Growing up in a town that offered two high schools, one private and the other public, I was given the opportunity to gain knowledge on how people perceived the two schools, and what impact ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Every parent wants their child to receive the best education possible, in preparation for the future. This leads to the question, what factors determine a school more desirable for receiving an education? If every student is presented with the same material, then what is difference between attending a public high school versus a private high school? Both of these questions can be answered with one simple word, teachers. Like any other occupation, the employer is looking to find the best candidate suitable for a certain position. Schools are looking to find the best teachers to employ in hopes of increasing student achievement, resulting in a good overall reputation of the school. Thus creating a competitive labor market for teachers. History: Schooling in America originated in the 18th century, with the creation of privatized schooling. Selective students were given the opportunity to study various subjects. Most of the students who were given an opportunity to attend school at that time were white and came from wealthy families, and unlike today, most of the teachers were male. The formation of public schools didn t happen until the 1840 s, which was created by the government in effort to provide education to those who could not afford it at the time. The most qualified teachers were often found teaching in the private schools, leaving the less qualified teachers in the public schools. ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Phil Jackson And Buddhism Essay Buddhism is a major Asian religion studied and practiced in countries such as Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam and Cambodia. Although Buddhism is a growing religion throughout the world, in particular, the practice of meditation is spreading in the West. The United States has a center for Buddhists in Hawaii and New York and also a Buddhist community has been established in California. (Hewitt, 13 14) But even closer to home for most is the practicing of Zen Buddhism on the basketball court by former Chicago Bulls and present Los Angeles Lakers coach Phil Jackson. In this essay I will discuss how Jackson has incorporated some of the practices of Zen Buddhism into his and the players of his teams lives and how it has been effective for the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It s often an uphill fight. The ego driven culture of basketball, and society in general, militates against cultivating this kind of selfless action, even for members of a team whose success as individuals in tied directly to the group performance. Our society places such a high premium on individual achievement, it s easy for players to get blinded by their own self importance and lose a sense of interconnectedness, the essence of teamwork. In this passage Jackson incorporates some very important fundamental Buddhist ideas. One of the aspects of the Eightfold Path, or the Middle Way , which Buddha said was the cure of suffering, Right Thought is the basis of this statement. In the introductive book Buddhism Catherine Hewitt spends three pages (4 6) discussing the aspects of the Eightfold Path. She says that Right Thought is when Buddhists, strive to think unselfishly and compassionately. Jackson is saying that in our Western way of living, the self is everything. We are constantly worried about how things will effect us (ourselves) instead of as a community, society, or team; where we are going and for others to get out of our way not thinking that they might have somewhere to be too; and also in reflection of the team structure, how we are going to make that ... • 7. Similarities Between Tateh And Emma Goldman s Ragtime Before reading Ragtime, I knew almost nothing about society and the attitude of the people of the early 20th century. Each of the characters in the novel informed me of different ideas and issues that arose during this time period. These include Tateh, the socialist; Emma Goldman, the anarchist; Coalhouse Walker, the man who demanded justice; and Mother. The inclusion of each of these characters significantly helped me picture the 1900 s. Tateh and Emma Goldman both provided insight into the politics during this time. The American working class was extremely unhappy with their condition. According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the average American working in the cotton industry in 1910 made 12.35 cents per hour, which is about $3.09 today. Tateh and Emma both wanted conditions to prove. Emma, as an anarchist, thought that violence was necessary in order to achieve this. Tateh just thought that all of the workers should help run the major companies. To me, socialism and anarchy do not seem like sustainable and practical ideals, but the working class had no options before the minimum wage was set. The Textile Mill Strike of 1912 showed just how little the workers were respected. Tateh, being a member of the protests, was an instrumental member of the call for change. • 8. The Carson Show One of the greatest talk shows of all time, The Tonight show has been entertaining Americans for more than 60 years. The show, produced by NBC Productions, first hit the air under the name Tonight in 1954. The show then settled on the name The Tonight Show in 1962. Among the name change there were many additional changes that have taken place in the shows running. The show originally had two openings, one for a news affiliate that began at 11:15 p.m. EST and another for those viewers who joined in at 11:30. In 1965, then host Johnny Carson refused to appear until 11:30, thus the show s start time changed to 11:30 p.m. EST. This was not the only time that the shows aired time had changed, in fact the aired time as well as length time changed multiple times throughout the shows running. A few additional impactful ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Each host brought a unique flare to the show, however there are four hosts; Jonny Carson, Jay Leno, Conan O Brien and Jimmy Fallon, that gave the show its superior qualities, making it the longest airing talk show of all time. Carson who hosted the show from 1962 to1992 is the longest serving host to date. He was the Gold Standard of hosts. He exemplified charisma and depth. He could do political and social commentary, comedy skits and handle all kinds of interviews from the serious to the silly. Carson served as the role model for all other American talk show hosts who followed him. Leno who hosted the show from 1992 to 2009 replaced Carson after he retired. The format of the show remained largely unchanged, consisting primarily of an opening humorous monologue, followed by several celebrity interviews, comedy sketches and musical numbers. Though I don t feel Leno was as comical as Carson and his interview skill were lacking, he had an aura that drew people in. This likability is what causes him to receive a second tenure from 2010 to 2014, after O Brien left the network due to scheduling ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For the whole week, I completed multiple workshops, while making new and long lasting relationships. As my main workshop, I chose the service workshop; we created three separate service activities for the entire camp. My group was in charge of the self love activity, promoting the idea of service while teaching the importance of self worth and acceptance. As we sat in silence, I decided to break the awkwardness and introduced myself. After learning each other s names, we began to brainstorm ideas for our project. It was a blue plastic remo drum that I love and I still have. It has white stripes that go vertically and it has two black remo pin strip drum heads. Drumheads are the surface, which you strike with a drumstick to produce a sound. The drum came with a pair of cheap plastic remo brand drumsticks. That I hardly use became if I do, I would probably break the drumsticks. The funny part was that they would clap after I would finish playing. I felt like if I was giving a concert, and I still remember the interest on the kid s faces when I would be playing. My favorite audience was the kinder garden students because I would play anything and they would like it. I remember I would have to study a lot because if my grade went down I would get grounded and my parents knew what to ground me with. My weak spot my silver baby, my snare drum. One time I was grounded for a week for not going to church. My parents would tease me with the drum they would leave it in my room. If I would touch the drum I would get another week. So I would be there playing on a pillow, but thanks to that pillow my hands got faster because I wouldn t bounce, I would use my wrist. I believe the greatest thing to ever happen to me was my snare drum, and I want to thank my teacher, Mr. Cantu for teaching me the correct techniques and teaching me how to practice. It makes them powerless to a point that they cannot be able to create another war. This treaty was way too harsh on the Germans. It is a fact that they were not the only ones fighting in the war, and they should not be the only one, who should be punished. Everyone must take responsibilities for their drastic decisions. All of the major countries had a role in this war, not only Germany. The Germans were stripped down of everything they had. It left Germans helplessly and made to live in poverty. • 13. Explanation Of The Bayeux Tapestry The Bayeux Tapestry The Bayeux Tapestry (1070 80, Fig. 1) is, in fact, not a tapestry at all. It is a piece of linen cloth embroidered with wool thread, that measures about 200 feet in length and three feet in width. The cloth is embroidered with images, ranging from battle scenes (Fig. 2) to banquets (Fig. 3) to Halley s Comet (Fig. 4). The colors are muted, including dark blue, yellow, rust red, grey, and green. The proportions are unnatural and there seems to be no care given to liner perspective or scale; instead, the work seems to focus on developing a cohesive narrative. The figures are flat and expressionless, yet they have a sense of movement and purpose as they move from one scene to another. The figures have a believable space, which is especially vivid in the battle scenes, as the figures appear to fall over one another in a animated struggle. The transition from one scene to the other is fluid and the story line is easy enough to follow. The tapestry is divided into three sections, the top, middle and bottom. Each section appears to have its own independent, though complementary, narrative. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... • 15. Biological And Psychological Aspect Of Schizophrenia Essay Biological and Psychological Aspect of Schizophrenia Antone Graham National University Biological Psychology Professor Matthew Sanders October 20, 2016 Abstract This paper defines schizophrenia from a biological and psychological perspective and also provides treatment to help combat symptoms of schizophrenia. This paper has three important contributions. First, by defining and expanding on schizophrenia from a biological perspective, I can identify the nature related predispositions. After expanding from a biological approach, secondly, I will analyze schizophrenia from a psychological aspect by determining if there is any environment or nurturing externals that can result to schizophrenia. Lastly, I will provide treatment details and also reveal early signs to schizophrenia. This paper is important because schizophrenia is an epic mental disease and it is crucially important to bring awareness to the public of how we can limit the illness. It is unclear whether schizophrenia have only a biological background or psychological background, but what was discovered is that both contribute to schizophrenia. Positive and negative treatment can be combatted undergoing pharmaceutical and psychotherapy, Basis The scientific interpretation of schizophrenia was one that supported a physical basis which was attributed to an imbalance in the cognition of humans. The goal of natural science aimed in finding rational, scientific causes, that would lead to biological ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 16. The Key Aspects Of The Relationship Between Poverty And... This policy report will identify and discuss the evidence towards the key aspects of the relationship between abuse and neglect and the greater economic hardship which will have an impact on poverty and how this affects the chance of a child being abused or neglected. Looking at the evidence it is clear to see that there is a strong link associated between poverty and a child suffering from abuse and neglect. Introduction and context According to NSPCC there are more than 50,000 children in the UK are abused and neglected annually, this estimates that there are 8 children suffering abuse for every one child that is identified. This is a strong link between socio economic circumstances of families and the chances of the child experiencing abuse and neglect. This association extends across all developed countries, different types of abuse and culture variation depending on the culture however definitions and research methods deem equal to both poverty and child protection systems. The families socio economic circumstances affect the relationship across the whole of society and not just a simple divide of poverty. This then has a poor outcome in relation to the child s inequalities to health and education and provides a link between the likelihood of abuse and neglect with the greater economic hardship. The World Health Organization (WHO) defines child abuse as all forms of physical and/or emotional ill treatment, sexual abuse, neglect or negligent treatment or commercial ... • 17. Faraday s Law Of Electromagnetic Induction ABSTRACT This lab is performed to analyze and understand Faraday s law of electromagnetic induction and also its application in different magnetic components using Faraday s Electromagnetic Lab simulation software 2.07. In this lab we understand the properties of the bar magnet, the basic electromagnet and also the electromagnetic induction in transformers. In the basic electromagnet, we observe the movement of the electronics both in AC and DC current source and compare the movement of electronics in those conditions. For better understanding of the electromagnetic induction in transformers, we observe the brightness of the bulb by changing the number of the loops in the coil, varying the magnitudes of the input ac current and also varying frequency. INTRODUCTION Faraday s law: A time varying current produces a magnetic field, and a time varying magnetic field produce an electric current. The magnetic field intensity is linearly related to the current which produces it. The current can be produced by an alternating magnetic field and that a time varying magnetic field can induce a voltage, or an EMF, in an adjacent circuit. This voltage is proportional to the rate of change of magnetic flux linkage, or magnetic flux, or current, producing magnetic field.[1] Faraday s law of induction states that emf is induced whenever the magnetic flux linkage changes. We can also say that emf is induced in the conductor whenever the conductor cuts magnetic flux, and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Greeks are well known for their construction of temples, acropolis and other grand architectural structures. Among these structures stood one of the most famous, the Parthenon. The Parthenon was a symbol of Greek society and culture as it stood as one of Greece s most important architectural buildings. The Parthenon is made entirely of a marble from Mount Pentelicus called Pentelic marble and stands approximately eighteen meters high. The selections made for the material of the Parthenon were chosen with many points considered to ensure a strong and sturdy future. The Parthenon was commissioned by Pericles sometime after Greek victories over the Persians between 490 and 480 BC (Glancey 26, 27). During the Persian Greek wars, Athens believed that Athena watched over them and that she helped them throughout the war. The Parthenon represents the wealth, power, society, and culture of Athens. • 19. Male African And Asian Elephants Essay than men (740). This suggests that women seek a large group of good friends while men are content with a small amount of high quality friends. Simply put, women prefer to travel in herds. Much like what one can observe in wildlife, females are found in large packs while males are either solo or in a small group. Dr. Kathleen Brown, a visiting assistant professor of Claremont McKenna College, further clarifies this idea. Through a phone interview that I conducted with Dr. Brown, she explained that her graduate research project focused on mammalian residential patterns and the psychological reasoning behind it. Male African and Asian elephants, she asserts, stray from the herd at a juvenile age. From there, they form a small and dynamic bachelor herd. This very behavior can be found amongst wild horse herds as well. While the females travel in large bands, small stallion bachelor groups are formed in which the male horses reside. Dr. Brown draws parallels among these animals with juvenile human men. She concludes that, at the onset of puberty, it is in the mammalian essence for men to be less social creatures than women. Through Dr. Brown s research, one surmises that as a mammalian male matures, he subconsciously limits the amount of friends with which he surrounds himself. Not only are women more inclined to conjugate in groups, they are much more driven by the affirmation that friendships provide. Those who give little credit to incapacitation could claim this to be mere coincidence, while those who support it say the crime reducing effect of incapacitation takes time. Rehabilitation assumes criminal behavior can be improved with non punitive methods. Rehabilitation, although non punitive, usually occurs along side punishment. For instance an incarcerated person may be given many rehabilitative options. Mental health programming, substance abuse counseling and even education programming exist in modern day correctional facilities. A judge may sentence someone to attend rehabilitative programming as a part of probation or it may be included as a stipulation in a plea agreement. At the core of rehabilitation is the thought that a criminal is flawed, often through no fault of their own. Poverty, mental health issues, or childhood trauma may all contribute to a criminal life and rehabilitation attempts to aid in a sort of recovery. If a person is cured of their issues, perhaps they will not fall back into their previous pattern. (Siegel Senna, 2005). Similar to rehabilitation is the idea of restoration. While rehabilitation is through non punitive means, restoration is the idea that punishment helps to promote a moral sense. This theory believes the shame associated with punishment may cause a criminal to see the error of their ways. A very ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

They can be a high school basketball coach, the shift supervisor at the local coffee shop, or even the President of the United States of America. In as many ways that leaders can vary by appearance and responsibility, there is also a variance in the ways that they lead. This case study aims to compare three of the more popular theories of leadership. These leadership theories are situational leadership, trait theory and transformational leadership. Summary of Theories Situational leadership, developed by professor Paul Hersey and author and consultant Ken Blanchard. Their approach was based off of a 1967 article by W.J. Reddin called The 3 D Management Style Theory. In his article, Reddin discusses the need to have different styles based on the demands of the leader. A leader needs to be flexible in their approach to meet the needs of the job, their superior and their subordinates (1967). Hersey and Blanchard progressed this theory by introducing the Situational Leadership II model. Their model breaks leadership into four different styles, and how a leader must alter their approach in supporting and directing their subordinates based on a given situation. These styles are directing (S1), coaching (S2), supporting (S3) and delegating (S4). The model also focuses on the development level of the subordinates by categorizing them between low (D1), moderate (D2 and D3) and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 33. Five Themes In Slaughterhouse Five In the book Slaughterhouse Five, Vonnegut s purpose of creating and alternative, structure of time and Tralfamadorian s was to mix descriptions of historic Dresden and his personal wartime experiences. Vonnegut uses Tralfamadorian fantasy and bits from his earlier fiction to create a meaningful story and give understand of how Vonnegut felt when he was in war. Vonnegut uses a stream of events to express the difficult time Billy goes through when trying to fully adapt to the Tralfamadorian s involvement with the Dresden Bombing. Throughout the story Billy jumps in time. Every individual moment in time happens at the exact same time as every other moment, so the past, the present, and the future are illusions. Billy s time jumping is caused by his PTSD that he got from being a part of the Dresden Bombing. Vonnegut uses Billy s time traveling is his experiencing what all Tralfamadorian s experience. They see there consequences and repercussions of their actions at the time they happen. That s the point of Billy s time travel. To show that humans don t see the whole picture, that we don t know what our consequences will be. The point is if humans didn t see the whole picture they wouldn t do things like the bombing of Dresden. Vonnegut uses both Billy and Tralfamadorian s to demonstrate this. Slaughterhouse Five is filled with symbols or motifs that are recurring throughout the whole story. The motif I see most recurring is so it goes the phrase Billy says after someone dies in the story, equalizing all of them, whether they are natural, accidental, or intentional. they are on a massive scale or a personal one. Billy uses this saying to say that this one bad thing happening by all of these other good moments does not make it something to be sad about and dwell on. So it goes this phrase is saying that stuff happens in life. People die and life just needs to keep going on and not be stopped for lives that have stopped that if your life is still going you should keep going. This phrase shows a comfort in the Tralfamadorian idea that although a person may be dead in a particular moment, that he or she is alive in all the other moments of their life and can be visited over and over through time travel.
