Strategic And Program Planning Process Within A Healthcare...
Introduction Communication in a healthcare organization is vital towards delivering better
services. Communication is diverse in where various departments must coordinate to respond to
diverse and varied needs of clients within a healthcare organization. Without proper communication,
the quality of work being rendered in the healthcare facility will be compromised. That s why the
healthcare organization should invest communication in strategic and program planning process
within a healthcare organization (Higgerson, 2013). Strategic, as used in this context refers to the
particular plan of action that must be done to achieve the defined goal or the process of developing
the particular plan with the ultimate intention of meeting the certain goal. The development of
strategies in a healthcare organization is usually coordinated in local or national level and focus on
a particular topic within a health care organization. During the communication of a strategy, the
main idea behind communication strategy is embracement and implementation of change in an
organization (Gmelch, Miskin 2011). To boost communication in the healthcare facility, there are
various techniques being used so that the target clients got the message in the simplest language
possible. There are varieties of materials employed in the healthcare centers to pass the message
from one person to another. This essay discusses the roles of communication in the strategic and
program planning for the healthcare

When Making Public Policy Decisions
1.When making public policy decisions, policy makers must face a world with imperfect
information and a finite amount of resources. Both of these realities put limitations on how
effectively a policymaker can make people s lives better off. Obviously, it is impossible for anyone
to perfectly predict how a certain policywill play out when it is enacted. This includes
policymakers, who despite their noble goals of increasing the well being of society, can only make
an educated guess about the effects a policy will have. Factors such as the fickleness of human
nature or hidden information creates uncertainties that are hard to address when making policy. For
example, in 1929 the causes of the Great Depression were not fully understood, but... Show more

This has caused many people to call into question the workings of capitalism as it operates in the
United States. By letting markets produce this outcome, it has become clear that the efficiency
gained from this system is creating an equal loss in equality. Whether there exists a natural
tradeoff between efficiency and equality or their inverse relationship is a product of our political
system does not change the fact that the tradeoff exists in our current society and is affecting
policy decisions. Policymakers who are against increasing equity see it leading to a moral hazard.
By creating a safety net through redistribution, they believe it will eliminate the incentive for
people to work hard and contribute to society. Government on the other hand would have to
increase their work effort in order to create the bureaucracy responsible for ensuring that equality
is maintained. If government is using up their resources and energy to achieve this goal, they are
not only decreasing efficiency but also incurring an opportunity loss by not using those resources
for other purposes that could benefit society in other ways. The way the United States government
has handled the equality efficiency tradeoff shows that for the most part, they value efficiency
more. As long as this tradeoff exists in our system, or even just the belief that it exists, the lower
portions of society will have little hope to

Locke And Hobbes
Thomas Aquinas can be best described as a merge of Aristotelianism eudaimonism and Christian
theology. He is known for blending these two subjects, although he did not directly accept every
notion that Aristotle believed in. Theology s primary interest in a person is the principle of his
actions, according to Hobbes. To judge these actions, he considers 3 topics: the object, the intention,
and the circumstances that make up the three sources of the moralityof human acts. The object
chosen is a good toward which the will guides itself, it is the matter of a human feat. The object
chosen morally specifies the act, and is judged if it is within the true good. Unbiased criterions of
morality express the balanced order of good and evil, indicated... Show more content on

John Locke and Thomas Hobbes both submitted differing versions of this state in Two Treatises
of Government and Leviathan. Locke adheres to the Natural Law belief which asserts that men
intrinsically have ethical sense which curbs them from participating in deplorable acts. These
men know what is right and wrong and what is lawful, and can resolve conflicts reasonably. In
natural state all people were equal, and everyone had a right to defend his or her life, health,
liberty, or possessions. Therefore, Locke believed in a self ruling, civil society, unlike Hobbes.
Hobbes s ultimate ambition is to secure as many pleasures as possible and to avoid pain and
aversions with no regard for others. He is primarily focused on Self Interest, a core tenant of
Hobbism. He believes people have no conception of good and evil, instead it is up to their culture
or upbringing to decide this. Justice or Property do not exist, only egoism, which he believes is
logical. Hobbes believes that the state of nature is therefore not corrupt, or obscene, but plainly
amoral. There are no morals, according to

Culture is always changing and it defines an individual’s...
Culture is always changing and it defines an individual s every day life. Everyone experiences
culture differently, which it is why it is difficult to give a definitive definition. The simplest way to
define culture is as, an experiences that shapes a person s worldview. Some of the different factors
that shape cultureare race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, religion, age, education and geographical
location. Culture is not static; it is spread amongst societies and embraced in different ways.
Learning about someone s cultural experience is the key to learning about that person and truly
getting to know them because their culture defines who they are.

The cultural lecture explains that change is spread in two different forms, invention and diffusion.
Invention is defined as the creation of something new whereas diffusion is a copy of something that
has already been invented.
An example of this is frozen yogurt. This delicious dessert is nothing new to people who live in
Los Angeles County; restaurants like Pinkberry, Yogurtland and Menchies have been around for
many years but for the people of Kern County the frozen treat is new. Frozen yogurt is a borrowed
idea from other cultures that eventually was brought to the United States, but even once it was in
the states it has taken a few years for the idea to spread. Learning about different cultures and
wanting what they have is the most basic example of how cultures change, spread and intertwine.
Different cultures can offer different things which can be beneficial to other cultures that have not
yet discovered a new technology or skill. The welcoming nature that some societies have of
different cultures is the reason why European culture was so easily spread but the same can be said
about cultures that did not embrace cultural change.
When Jared Diamond describes how western cultures eventually dominated the world in his book,
Guns, Germs, and Steel , he fails to say why European culture swept the world. Diamond believes

Walking In The City Analysis
The desire for a Utopian city is not a surprising aspiration. While in an ideal world cities could be
plotted and planned out perfectly, the readings from this week explore why this is not productive to
attempt in society, and also discuss the problems with city planning and government policies. While
the readings do not necessarily complement each other entirely, they all appear to be speaking for
the same message. The rigorous structure and planning, whether by cityplanners or government
organizations, is toxic to urban life, as it has aided racial segregation, disrupted the natural flow
and security of city dwellers, and created a divided metropolis (Sugrue). The reading from Kenneth
Jackson, titled Race, Ethnicity, and Real Estate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Jacobs condemns the Monotony, sterility, and vulgarity of current urban structuring and well
planned out cities, such as Le Corbusier s radiant city, that are destroying the culture and order
that are essential to diverse city life (Jacobs). Jacobs highlights that the social structure of
pavement life hangs partly on what can be called self appointed public characters, and therefore
city planning involving set structures and pretended order disrupts this essential social format.
Jacobs also explores the discriminatory attitudes towards immigrants and slums, as the readings
from Jackson and Segue did. Jacobs discusses the north end of Boston and it s improper labelling.
The north end was regarded as slum and a place full of immigrants, but went Jacobs went to see for
herself, she discovered a strong community, infectious laughter, and children playing a far cry from
the label society had placed upon it. When asking if there was any possibility of getting a loan for
new construction in north end, she was dismissed with only the words that s a slum (Jacobs),
demonstrating the misconception and bias towards various communities that erroneous city

The Goal Assignment
The Goal Analysis
The main character in The Goal , Alex Rogo, manages a production plant that is unprofitable and
not efficient with its resources. Alex is given a short amount of time to turn the operations at the
plant around and make it an efficient, successful production plant. Throughout the book, Alex Rogo
speaks to Jonah a number of times and learns a great amount of information from him. The first
significant time that Alex and Jonah spoke was during their chance meeting at an airport lounge.
During this conversation, Alex learned a great deal about productivity and goal setting. Jonah
explains to Alex that a company has one goal and that the manager must be open about the goal.
Jonah then discusses the definition of productivity with Alex and tells him that the true definition is
bringing a company closer to its goal that it has set. Among these concepts that Alex learned, he also
learned more about his own management style and how it could be improved. Alex learned that he
must question common concepts regarding managing and that he must think differently in order to
be successful. The second time Alex spoke to Jonah was after finding his contact information in his
old address book. During this conversation, Alex realizes that accustomed profitability measures
cannot be applied to the plant he is managing and he must follow measures that better relate to his
individual plant. Jonah teaches Alex three

Beacon Day Center Case Study
According to Beacon Law.org, the motto states that The Beacon is a place where services are
being provided to help restore dignity, self respect, and hope to Houston s poor and homeless .
However, discrimination against the transgender population in The Beacon Day Center has
increased significantly over the past six months I began my intern, I attended Tuesday and
Thursday at the agency. I observed 10% of the transgender clients of The Beacon Day Center are
affected through this problem. The Beacon staff and volunteers do not practice what their motto
states, rather, they are showing an indifference to the motto. Since I started my internship in the fall
of 2016, I noticed that transgender clients seeking services are underserved, because... Show more

In addition, Beacon needs to educate the staff on how to avoid discriminating or stereotyping
against this population. Beacon should have a policy and procedures pamphlet outlined and
attached to the agency manual on how to treat people with dignity and respect. Furthermore, The
Beacon should implement a service first policy that will enable them to offer services without
showing partiality to any gender. This change in policy and procedures will include acceptance
positive rules of the transgender population. This change will make it necessary for The Beacon
Day Center to receive additional funding through Gala that will allow an increase in training staff.
This change will assist with the restructuring of their current staff and implement roles that will
include all responsibilities. One of the barriers that might exist is effective communication for all
staff to become agents of change. But this problem could be handled by consistently offering
quarterly training to all employees avoid resistance to change. The managers and directors will
initiate all necessary changes to make this agenda

1. Overview Of The Theology Of The Pentateuch.. Theology
1. Overview of the Theology of the Pentateuch.
Theology is the study of God, and further the Theology of the Pentateuch is defined as what is the
Pentateuch teaching us about God today. The Pentateuch is another name for the Torah, which
consists of the first five books of the Biblical canon. Studying the theological vision contained
within the Pentateuch is crucial to scholars since it is this vision that shapes the principal form of
this work. Further, the foundation for the theology of God is set forth in the rest of the Bible. One
can read numerous intricate, complex stories as concern our Creator, however there is not one
contradiction in respect to his attributes that can be found. It is owing to the fact that this is a solid

These are promises that God secured between himself and his people. For example, Genesis one
uncovers a covenant with Adam and continues further with covenants with Noah, Abraham, Moses,
Israel and a renewal with the new generation of God s chosen people in Deuteronomy. Moreover,
each of these covenants has it s own character and scope; and each prepares for and provides the
found for, the next . Alexander and Baker hold fast in agreement and proceed to say, Yet the faith
and varied responses of the ancestors and Israelites are best grasped in relation to covenant making,
covenant breaking and renewals of covenant . The narrative of the Pentateuch has a progressive
nature, as do the covenants made between people and God.
2. Theology of the Pentateuch in Genesis.
2.1 Character of God, Humanity, and Covenant Relationship in Genesis.
The book of Genesis presents the reader with a relational God. In particular, Genesis focuses on
the relationship between God and man and thus Genesis does not present a static theology of God
s involvement with humanity, but regardless of his mode of engagement, God is present and
active . However, the sin of man arrived into the world and these relationships were fractured.
Again, God exhibits judgment, but also mercy when in Genesis three He sends Adam and Eve out
of the Garden for their transgression, yet provides clothes as an act of grace.

Palestine has a right, under international and natural law, to self determination under the borders
which existed prior to Israel s formation in 1948. The natural governing authority of the new
Palestinian State to be formed within these borders is the Palestinian Authority (PLO) currently led
by Mahmoud Abbas. Given that land was stolen from Palestinian natural sovereignty via actions
taken by Israel in wars which Palestine proper was not a participant to, Israel must also pay
reparations to the Palestinian State as well as its citizens so as to compensate for the crimes against
humanity which it has committed over the course of the last several decades. Cemented by the
renunciation of violence which the PLO has undertaken, Palestinians can no longer be held
accountable for the actions of Hamas and other terrorist groups, and an independent Palestinian
state commits to joining the War on Terror righteously fought by Israel and its allies.
The Minimal Acceptable Borders of a Palestinian State Beginning with the minimal acceptable
borders of a Palestinian State, these must be congruent with the original United Nations Settlement
plan put forth by the UN prior to Israeli conquest in 1949 With Rowntree et al. (2014) noting that
the original 1948 borders of Israel were already in violation of the proposed United Nations

Racism In Football Essay
My favorite sport is soccer that is also known as football in Europe and most of the parts of the
world. It is hugely popular game in the world and this is why it is the most played game of the
world and almost all the countries of the Europe have their own football leagues and the Barclays
premier league of Englandis the most widely watched league of all, even in the countries that don t
have a proper footballsetup and team like India and Pakistan. Other countries of different
continents also have their own leagues but that are not very much popular around the world. This
game has everything for people of all the age groups and that is why it is widely played, followed
and liked all around the world.
Football is one of the most ancient game of the world and there are proofs that this game was
played in one form or another in many old civilizations and this can be seen the portraits and
paintings of these old civilizations in which people were seen playing football and this is probably
the biggest reason due to which the game is very popular around the world and is played all around
the world and it has been transferred to each other through generations.
Problem:
There are some problems that can be associated with this game and the biggest one of them is
racism. Even after all these years and fight against racism the plague of racism has not been
completely removed from the game of the football and events of racism can be seen after every few
days. Few of the biggest names

`` Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep
Phillip Dick s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is a science fiction novel describing
humanity s struggle for survival in a post apocalyptic world after a nuclear war has irradiated the
Earth, the world is pretty much a wasteland, forcing humans to create a separate colony on Mars.
The novel explores the importance of empathy in an increasingly technological world where
humans struggle for relevance. In the spirit of Phillip K. Dick s questioning of reality and identity,
it only makes sense to state that the Androids symbolize and mimic human capacity for empathy;
therefore, worthy of living. Yet, ironically, this does not hold to be true, or at least, not to the
fictional human race in this novel. In fact, it is made clear that Androids are only products
designed to serve their every need; to make life easier. Human like androids have been developed
to help with the colonization on another planet, but as shown in this novel, they have a habit of
escaping to Earth illegally; in pursuit of a better life without any obligations to serve the human
race. Rick Deckard is a bounty hunter , a police official who hunts down androids illegally fleeing
Mars to hide and find a home on Earth. Police bounty hunters use an empathy test to identify them,
hunt them down and retire them. But as the new Voigt Kampff test proves, the Androids are
incapable of responding properly to emotional situations where empathy is required, which usually
surrounds concepts demonstrating the

The End Of The Fgyking World Analysis
I m James, I m 17, and I think I m a psychopath the series opens up with this gut wrenching
memorable quote. The End of the F*cking World is a recently added Netflix Original that focuses
on the journey of James and Allison in what seems to be a dark adaptation of Bonnie Clyde. This
rollercoaster of emotions had me on the edge of my seat (my bed) the whole time.
The story is not very clear for the first couple episodes. A lot happens in the first few episodes with
no apparent linear progressive story. The story ties itself back around in a way that is not expected.
The biggest thing that kept me watching through the entire series was the fact that there was not a
dry moment at all. From the time that the episode starts, to the time that the title appears on the
credits screen, continuous jaw dropping moments occur. A big issue that I had with the way the

The use of blood and the graphic content of doing so was very well done. There was a specific
scene where the main girl Allison is being attacked and James stabs the guy. Blood pours from
the guys neck all over the girl. The visuals of this scene were absolutely throw up provoking, it
really displayed the feelings of the scene for all characters. Another issue that I found with the
show, is that the cast is British. The lingo and vocabulary was different than that of my culture, and
I found myself, sometimes not quite understanding what was said. I didn t know any of the cast
members, so it was a little difficult to find a relation between myself and them. The advantage of
having a cast of unknown actors and actresses, is that an audience member doesn t have a relation
to another movie with that character. For example. When viewing Ace Ventura: When Nature
Calls, Jim Carrey portrays a very whacky and goofy individual, but when viewing The Number 23,
I find it much harder to take Jim Carrey seriously in a drama/thriller

After one hour of trying to figure out what was happening to my business, I was more confused
than ever.
I sent an email to EBay the day after trying to enquire why my store was cancelled and EBay
replied back with an automated email with information that was not relevant to my case.
What made the Incident dissatisfying * There was no customer support system set up in
Australia. * Customer had to contact service support in America. * Communication was really
poor, no reply was made on EBay s behalf through phone or email. * The operator was rude and
lacked communication skills. * No service recovery was in place, or customers weren t provided
with another option. * Level of attention was low, the operator didn t care and showed frustration
really easily.
What could or should have been done differently
This whole incident could have been prevented if there was actually a customer service support
based in Australia, or if EBay actively replied to customers regarding their specific issues, instead of
replying via an automated email system that sent out generic responses. The operator could have
handled the situation much more efficiently, instead of letting the situation control her attitude. It
seems that EBay had no recovery strategy in place to combat these complex issues and they only

The Symbolism Of The Rich In The Rich Brother By Tobias Wolff
Rich, the word itself implies an abundance of one thing or another, the question is an abundance of
what. Many think of the sufficient amount of money one may have: elegant houses, luxurious cars,
etc...; however, the word rich takes on a new meaning when reading the short story The Rich
Brother by Tobias Wolff. In this short story it becomes evident that the definition of rich apparent
in the story is being content with who he is and to look out for the ones around him more than
looking out for himself. At first reading, readers believe that Pete is the rich brother due to his
plentiful amount of money; however, with further analysis Donald is the rich brother with his

story, Donald has the attributes of one being rich. One characteristic of Donald being rich is his

Gender Identity Is The Assumption Of There Being Binary...
Binary Logic: Another issue with research pertaining to sexual identity is the assumption of there
being binary categories, such as gay/straight, male/female, etc. Research in this area is generally
dichotomized (e.g. male/female, gay/straight), which can foster rigid identity assumptions, foster
homogeneous understanding of research particiapnts and results, foster a divide between normal
and deviant behavior, as well as mask inherent variation in different groups and populations
(Johnson Repta, 2012). Bringing greater awareness to the complexity of sexual and gender identity
could have transformative effects on how research is conducted. Some scholars in the social work
field have begun to acknowledge and recognize the increasing evidence that sexual and gender
identity are not binary categories, as well that categories might not even be an accurate way of
understanding these phenomena (Burdge, 2007; Roche Gringeri, 2010). While an understanding
that the binary model is flawed has gained some traction in social work research, the majority of
researchers continue to ignore and disregard this possibility, consequently reinforcing this erroneous
dichotomous paradigm (Rassi, 2011). It has also been noted that critiques from postmodern,
poststructural, and queer theory perspectives, as well as from individuals or groups (e.g.
transgender, bisexual, intersex) who do not fit neatly into binary categories continue to remain
essentially absent within social work

As being a proud representative of the AAA Safety Patrol program I was taught the value of
patience. For instance, when someone needed help I would listen and provide my insight. In few
instances when a school bus would arrive after the students were let out of school I would
patiently wait with the students in order to ensure their safety and assist the younger students
who were unaware of where their bus was and direct them where to go. I apply the value of
patience in my everyday life because I often volunteer in first grade or kindergarten classrooms
and in order to assist the students requires an immense amount of patience. The program has also
taught me the value of commitment because every day I would ensure safety before and after

Holden Caulfield Satire
J.D. Salinger s opinion of the world in The Catcher in the Rye shows both his hatred and fascination
for the ingenuine nature of society. Throughout the novel Holden Caufield is conflicted between
commenting on the phoniness of things around him, a heading under which he loosely lumps not
only insincerity but snobbery, injustice, callousness to the tears in things, and a lot more,
(Behrman) and the impulsive, self loathing mentality he portrays. Salinger utilizes many aspects of
his own life and displays them in the fluctuating character of Holden Caufield, showing his
conflicted opinion on society. At times, he expresses his self hatred towards the condescending
attitude of the actions he himself makes. The Catcher in the Rye s purpose is to prevent all the
teenage angst and self loathing by saving them from corruption. Salinger utilizes this symbol to
show the longing for innocence within the corrupt adults and a feeling of obligation to protect and

asset relative to that in an average risky asset (427). The Beta for JC Penney and TJX is above
industry average that means that these companies would have a greater expected return. Systematic
risk or market risk is the risk that affects a large number of assets. Examples of systematic risk are
inflation or increasing the interest rate, or any uncertainties in the economy but not the company s
performance. Unsystematic risk is the risk that mainly associated with specific companies or may
be some competitors and suppliers. The systematic risk affects the whole market and cannot be
controlled by investors. Unsystematic risk however affects the company and is controlled by the
company s performance. When investors invest money into a company they must research all
aspects of that company so they are aware of the unsystematic risks they may encounter. JC Penney

Essay about Relationships in Geoffrey Chaucer s The...
Throughout literature, deep relationships can often be discovered between a story and the author
who writes it. Relationships can also be found in stories about a husband and wife. In Geoffrey
Chaucer s The Canterbury Tales many of the characters make this idea apparent with the stories
they tell. In The Pardoner s Tale , a distinct relationship can be made between the character of the
Pardoner and his tale of three friends. Also, the Wife in The Wife of Bath s Tale boldly declares
her relationship towards her husband.
Throughout The Pardoner s Tale , the main character teaches about greed, gambling, desecration,
and drinking, but in the beginning he admits to committing these sins himself. One of the portrayals
of hypocrisy, in the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The irony of the Pardoner is based on his hypocritical actions. The fact that he does not care about
the souls of those he has tricked, says a lot about his character. Near the end of his tale, the friends
begin to reveal their true personality. All three of them turn on each other trying to steal the
treasure for themselves. All of the trust, which they had promised, was a lie and no loyalty
remained. The supposed faithful friends display their true cruelty and expose their hypocrisy in
relation to the Pardoner s character.
One main theme in The Wife of Bath s Tale is female dominance and equality. In the tale, the wife
portrays her dominance through her own experience. For example, the image of the whip sets her
role as master, and she tells everyone that she is the head of her household. Despite her claim that
experience is her sole power, the Wife of Bath evidently feels the need to create her authority in a
more scholarly manner. She mimics the habits of the scholars and churchmen by supporting her
claims with quotations from antique works and scripture.
The Wife of Bath apparently attempts to emphasize female dominance over men. She contradicts
many of the harsh customs and declares her own haughty assessment of women s function in
society and in relationships. In the story, Chaucer explains that what women want is sovereignty
over their husbands. According to the tale, women desire to be treated as masters over their love.
The story also suggests that

Christopher Bruce Ghost Dance
Ghost Dances has a tremendous impact and audiences in many countries have delighted in its
distinctive rhythmic movement performed to haunting South American tunes. However, it is the
representation of the oppression of ordinary people, symbolised by sinister ghost figures, which
give the work much of its resonance. (NSW Department of Education and Training)
The Ballet dance, which also incorporates movements of contemporary and South American folk
dance, entitled Ghost Dancers sends a message to the viewer that the oppression of everyday people
(based on the Chilean Coup) is well represented throughout the dance, mostly due to the movement,
costumes, sets, lighting, music and overall mood of the dance. Choreographed by Christopher Bruce

Ghost Dancers fuses many styles of dance including the primary style of ballet, contemporary
and traditional Chilean folk dance. Ballet is the base of the dance as Bruce is primarily a Ballet
choreographer. Contemporary is evident as flexed feet and bent arms and legs are seen
throughout the performance. And Chilean folk dance can be seen in many sections of the dance
with the civilians, as there are many quick movements of the feet and, as shown in the fourth
section with the women, they do a movement throughout their section, which consists of change
of direction with their arms out. The costumes that the dancers wear are also significant. The
costume that the ghost dancers wear is based on the Native American legend of the Ghost Dance
or Natdia. This spiritual dance was performed during the late 1880 s, when things were bad and
the Native Americans needed something to give them hope. The dance reached its high point just
before the Wounded Knee Massacre of 1890, where US soldiers opened fire and killed over 200
hundred Native Americans. They believed that performing the ghost dance would later reunite
them with their ancestors along the line. The civilians costumes represented that of everyday
people. They all had different clothes on and of the three different classes of people, lower, middle
and upper class. This gives a representation that during the coup that no specific class was targeted
and that anyone could be a

Suicide Prevention Programs
Suicide is the third leading cause of death among fifteen to twenty four year olds. Also, between a
third to fifth of children ages three to seventeen are affected by mental illness. That means six to
ten students in an average class of thirty are affected by mental illness. To reduce these numbers
people have come up with suicideprevention programs. Two examples of these programs are
TeenScreen and Sources of Strength. These programs can easily be put into schools to help prevent
suicide and teach students about mental illness. Schools should educate students on mental health

will have a tombstone or other funerary memorial? The function of a funerary memorial is
generally to honor the person who has passed. For the ones that the deceased has left behind, it can
serve as a symbol of remembrance. Tombstones hold evidence about who the person was, what was
important to them as well as what was important about them. Also, they typically have information

Improving Efficiency with Business Process Modeling
In order for businesses to be successful, they must find out what the customer wants and meet that
need. This can be difficult when dealing with the ever evolving trends of today s society.
Businesses must remain flexible and constantly be experimenting with new technology and ideas to
better provide their services to the customer. To help accomplish this goal, Business Process
Modelingcan be used to provide a solution, to help refine and organize business processes, which
may in return make the business more efficient.
A key feature of any successful business is how the business provides its services to customers.
This is often done through business processes, a collection of organized tasks or activities that are
intended to accomplish a specific goal. (Pittarese, 2014) These tasks may encompass different
functional areas and are designed to create value for the customer. (Pittarese, 2014) Though a
business is successful and may have been around for quite some time, they often find the need to
update their business processes, in order to keep up with customer demands, technological
advances, and to improve efficiency within their company. One way of doing this could be through
business process modeling, a tool used by businesses to create a diagram of the various business
processes and actions that are carried out within a company.
In order to create a business process model, a business must first identify and create the current
business process model, which is

Horace Mann s Pedagogy Theory Of Education
Horace Mann was the first to advocate for public education, because of his upbringing, he strongly
believed that education is the great equalizer of the conditions of men by Horace Mann. He was
the founder of Pedagogy, as well as the Common School Movement , and founded the Common
School Journal as well. He led a campaign offering universal education: by which he meant that all
children regardless of race, religion, and socioeconomic background should receive an education.
He also stated that this education be taught by trained professionals (teachers) and that all education
be free of religious influence, and all to be found by the community which will benefit from its
children s education in the future.
His Pedagogy theory of education is to explore and discover. To awaken the curiosity in children for
children to be able to explore and find their passion. With that passion, they can be important drivers
of the socio economic environment that surrounds them directly and indirectly.
John Dewey
Dewey background of philosopher, psychologist and educator brings a lot to light when speaking
about education today. His believes in his epistemology theory, that children and educators need to
focus on the approach of learning by doing: theory of knowledge = theory of inquiry and /or
theory of experimental logic. More of our waking life than we should care to admit, even to
ourselves, is likely to be whiled away in this inconsequential trifling with idle fancy and

Gauis Petronius The Satyricon
The Satyricon by Gauis Petronius Arbiter (Petronius) (d. 66 CE) is in various ways an extreme
exaggerated narrative of Roman dining practices in his time period. The section regarding the
Dinner with Trimalchio illustrates this notion through his character Encolpius first hand experience
in attending this event. The satirical portrayal of self made millionaire , Trimalchio goes to an
extreme where he invited guest to his abode for a dinner to honor him, and to show off his grand
status.
Petronius satirical novel stems around social manners within the world of classical antiquity, where
it seems his intent is to amuse his audience, but in that amusement also demean the aristocracy with
his light wit. The author shows his audience, the lengths to which Trimalchio goes to portray his

Country History of Afghanistan
Country History of Afghanistan Throughout history Afghanistan has served as a focal point for the
movement of people, goods, and ideas due to its central location linking East Asia with that of the
Arabian Peninsula. The land has seen conflict and warfare with the passage of great empires to
include those of Alexander the Great, the Ghaznavids, three Anglo Afghan wars, the Soviet Afghan
war, as well as the GWOT, of which Afghanistanplays an integral role. The independent, fractious,
and culturally diverse Afghanistan we see today is a direct derivative of its unique history and
geography which has been dominated by external influence for centuries. Early written history of
Afghanistan reaches back to the time of Alexander the Great (c. 330 BCE). Afghanistan has been
occupied by multiple empires throughout its history and has enjoyed significant trade hubs due to
its location along the Silk Road, most notably the Afghan cities of Balkh and Herat, the latter of
which continues to be of economic significance due to its proximity to Iran. For the purposes of this
paper we will examine the recent history of Afghanistan which encompasses the 20th and 21st
centuries, however, it is important to note that significant outside interference has affected the
sovereignty of Afghanistan throughout its history. The present day borders are a direct result of the
Durrani Empire which ruled for nearly a century until British intervention in what quickly became

She died before she could see her wish come true, but all her hard work and accomplishments made

Outlook
There is a bright future for the sport boat industry; the market as a whole is expected to grow in
the near future. In 2006 the sport boat market had a total value of $6.9 billion; that value has
climbed by 9.3% each year, and that trend is expected to continue for the next 3 years. This
means that the sport boat market will be worth $10.1 billion by 2014. This industry rebound is
dependent upon the recovery of the market and a general change in attitude of banks to lend
more money for boat purchases. In addition to this overall market growth and economic recovery,
we can expect sport boat sales to increase due to an increase in the number of boat purchasers. As
the baby boomers reach retirement age, the number of boats sold can be expected to increase
causing the overall market to increase at a rate greater than the expected 9.3%. With this explosion
in the sport boat market, positive economic activity, and the increased willingness of banks to grant
loans, it is expected that the sport boat market will expand beyond all future expectations.4

This helps minimize negative impact to the surface/ground water reservoirs in two different ways.
One, this reduces the risk of algal blooms in the surface waters. Algal blooms occur due to the
excess amount of nutrients in the water, causing eutrophication. Eutrophication causes huge plant
and algae growth because of the increased amount of nutrients. Then the plants and algae die and
bacteria causes the plants/algae to decompose, using up dissolved oxygen. This results in a lack of
oxygen, hypoxia and anoxia, in the water. Therefore, many organisms such as the fish die due to
the lack of dissolved oxygen in the water.
Two, this increases the potential of infiltration. Water flows from impermeable areas like buildings
to the settling pond where it can infiltrate into the ground. Rip rap is the surface cover of the water
retention pond. Rip rap creates channels for water to flow through, giving its high infiltration rate.
Even though most of the water would be drained by the drainage pipes, some would be infiltrated
into the soil.
Another water control feature is having a vegetative surface cover on the hillsides of the venue. As
seen in Figure 2, grass, a vegetative cover, covers the southern hill and trees cover the northern hill.
The vegetation stabilizes the soil, preventing erosion and gulleys. The vegetative surface cover on
the hillsides also increases the potential for infiltration. Grass has a high infiltration rate because the

product, this strategy is usually taken advantage of. Many retailers put a may we suggest section
on each and every product page with items that are relevant to what the customer was looking
for, and this is also very enticing. Other ways online pages encourage impulsive purchases is with
the use of things such as time sensitive sales. This can be sales such as Memorial Day sales, deal

Intelligence Security Threats
Dangers to the Government concerning security ever exist. As a result, the Intelligence Security of
the U.S, both the military and researchers should ever be alert and take immediate action whenever
security threat exist either internally or globally. As technology advances day and night, even the
security weapons for defense and attack also change (Reyes and others 2010, 79).
In the next decade, complex and diverse security issues globally can result beyond which technology
can easily handle. Possible threats that can be experienced are varied in nature changing from
weapons, change in climate, use of winds and even internal attacks through liaising with wrong
intent persons. The main challenge that can be encountered in solving these attacks ... Show more

Some of the criminal organizations that are a threat to the nation include human traffickers, drug
dealers, and arms smugglers. These groups if there existence is ignored can quickly put hands
together with some officials within the government, and intelligence security forming terrorist
groups. Dealing with terrorists who have liaised with reputable safety and government officials can
be a challenge and a threat to the whole nation since all measures to be done will be made known to
them and counter attack measures formulated.
Technological weapons made from nuclear are other possible weapons that are mass casualty that
can be used in the future decade of attacks (Blair and Dennis [220], 24 25). A nuclear weapon is
not only a security perturb of the U.S, but also a global concern. Consequently, U.S security
defense team should put more effort in halting the illegal marketing of nuclear substances to
terrorist groups like al Qaida or any other terrorist group.
Radio active elements like uranium, a small mass of it, can be used to make a deadly weapon that
can cause mass killing and property loss globally such as the Hiroshima and Nagasaki bomb.
Advanced technology should be used in detecting nuclear material such as the use of high
technology sensitive devices to detect radio active elements being transported by attackers (Aloise
and Gene 2009,

Victoria Chemicals Plc (a)
Victoria chemicals PLC (A): the Merseyside Project As a world wide major competitor in the
chemical industry, Victoria Chemicals is a leading producer of polypropylene, a polymer that is
used in a variety of products around the globe. Polypropylene is known for its strength and
malleability and was priced as a commodity. The company operates two plants that produce
polypropylene, one at Merseyside, England and the other at Rotterdam, Holland. Both plants were
identical in scale, design, and age. However, Morris Greystock, the manager for the Merseyside
plant saw a decline in the company s stock, and decided to improve the position of the company. To
do that, she came up with a project to increase production efficiency, rationalize the... Show more

The project would result in a negative NPV since the EPC market is small. Tewitt claims this
negative NPV would be offset by Greystock s renovation plan. The committee rejected the plan
based on economic reasons. In my opinion, Tewitt s plan is a waste of moneyto spend in something
that holds a small part of the market rather, the money should be spent on something that have a
high impact on the market. Also, I have my suspicions about Tewitt s plan, mainly because of his
comment to Greystock and Morris after the committee rejection. In that comment in a hushed voice
he told Morris and Greystock that their anuual bonuses are begged to the size of this operation.
This makes me think that Tewitt s plan has a self interest tied to it, which presents an obvious
agency problem. Therefore, I strongly reject his proposal.
Concerns of the treasury staff: After scanning Greystock s analysis, Andrew Gowman, the treausury
staff pointed out a flaw in Grestock s analysis. The flaw in the analysis was not considering inflation
in calculating the discount rate, which would in return have in affect on the cash flows. Gowman
suggests a long term expected inflation of 3%. Adjusting the discount rate for inflation we get a a
real discount rate of 7% instead of 10%.

Goodbye, Mr. Chips
IV. TONE The overall tone of Goodbye, Mr. Chips is contemplative. The entirety of the
novelette is reflective of his career at Brookfield. He touched many students lives as a teacher,
and they influenced him as well. He remembers when he first came to Brookfield and began his
time there as a young and ambitious man. From there, he began to grow into a man who knew the
way to truly teach his students would be to create a feeling of mutual love between the two
parties. Time passed for the old teacher but he never forgot the names that he saw on his class
roster from year to year. When he thinks of Brookfield, the memories he had created there swell up
within him. The time he spent there was not in vain, either, as many students would

How Does Charlie Chaplin Use Film Techniques In A Dog s Life
A Dog s life by Charlie Chaplin expresses a handful of social issues with comedy; it has
filmmaking techniques and numerous comic elements. The film was made in 1918, during World
War I. Chaplin demonstrates how poor people live and how certain people view them. The film
takes place in a poor neighborhood. Chaplin plays as Trampin the film, a homeless man trying to
survive. The film begins with Tramp sleeping on the ground in an empty lot. In that same scene
Tramp wakes up to the smell of food. He s hungry and moneyless;thus, he steals one sausage
without the seller noticing. This demonstrates what poor people do to survive.

The title of the film, A Dog s Life, means to have a hard life. Life isn t easy and you re constantly
struggling to survive everyday; that s what Tramp was dealing with. The overall message is to
be grateful and be optimistic. To have hope and be happy no matter how hard life gets. Tramp
was homeless but had a great attitude towards life. Tramp was happy and hopeful. Even though he

Similarities And Differences Between The Blitz And II

2.3 Comparison
2.3.1 Differences between The Blitz and IRA attacks
Both of these events seem very different an the first look as they took place in very different
situations in the history of London, even though the real time gap between them isn t that huge
compared to the overall past of the British capital.
They were very distinct in many aspects for example the reason the final intention and the way they
happened. That s not surprising as one of them was a real war, country against country, while the
other one was a terroristic organization against the government.
However both events, The Blitz and the IRA attacks had one important thing in common: Both
wanted to frighten the citizens of London.
To reach their goal and show what their capable of the Germans during the Blitz as well as the Irish
Republican Army killed innocent civilians. The idea behind that was to break the moral of the
normal population, which would force the Government to change plans to protect their ... Show

that could be put up everywhere in Britain. Three posters where finally approved, one of them
being the now famous KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON poster. However at the start of WW2,
only the posters with the inscriptions YOUR COURAGE YOUR CHEERFULNESS YOUR
RESOLUTION WILL BRING US VICTORY and FREEDOME IS PERIL DEFEND IT WITH
ALL YOUR MIGHT where put up as they where seen more suitable for the bombing campaign of
the Germans. The third only was meant to be put up when the Germans invaded the mainland of
Britain. The simple message in a clear font combined with the royal colour and the crown save the
last bit of British moral. The Invasion never took place, which led to the posters not being used and
ultimately most of them ending destroyed after the

No Child Left Behind Act
Accountability is incredibly important for the school systems. People shouldn t fear accountability,
they ought to welcome an accountability system as a useful tool to make sure no child is left
behind George Bush quoted. When the No Child Left Behind Act was passed in 2001, president
George Bush along with many other people had different expectations at that time. Expectations
that included improvement in testing scores, progress increase in grades along with improvement
in teachers. For a short period of time this appeared to have worked, however with the course of

2010 report by the Annenberg Institute for School Reform, over 17% of Houston teachers
ranked in the top category on the Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills reading test were ranked
among the two lowest categories on the equivalent Stanford Achievement Test. The results were
based on the same students, tested in the same subject, at approximately the same time of year,
using two different tests. (Sean P. Corcoran, Can Teachers be Evaluated by Their Students Test
Scores? Should They Be? The Use of Value Added Measures of Teacher Effectiveness in Policy
and Practice (676 KB) pdf logo, www.annenberginstitute.org, 2010) Another important part of the
No Child Left Behind Act was that teachers performance was going to be measured based on
standardize tests taken by their students. While this may sound like a fair deal teachers should
not be held accountable for annual progress as a child s education is both responsibility of both
teachers and parents. Many people would argue that it is a teacher s job to teach because they are
getting paid. However we as parents need to have in mind that we cannot give all responsibility to
the teachers as learning should happened at school as well as at home. We as parents need to
provide our children and their teachers the correct tools to make out children successful in their
education. We cannot expect teachers to do all the job when parents and teachers should be
working together to help our children succeed. Some

Essay on Shel Silverstein
amp;#9;Few writers of the twentieth century have made nearly the same impact on the literary
society than Sheldon Allan Silverstein. His writing encompasses a broad range of styles, from
adult to children s, comical to unusual. One of his most common styles was that of fantasy: actions
and events that cannot logically happen. This style was evident in his works, the Loser, ThumbFace,
Warning, Squishy Touch, and Skin Stealer. Through the description of these absurd circumstances,
Silverstein was able to entertain readers of all ages.
amp;#9;In Sely Friday s reference to a biography, Shel Silverstein was quoted as saying, amp;quot; .
. . I would much rather have been a good baseball player or a hit with the girls. But I couldn t play

The problem occurs in the story when the person cannot find the head because almost all
sensory perception went along with the head. In the end, the person says, amp;quot; . . . I guess
I ll sit down / On this rock / And rest for just a minute . . . . amp;quot; (p. 25). The rock, as the
picture accompanying the poem shows, turns out to be the person s lost head. This story is
obviously impossible considering the biological fact that when a person is decapitated, his/her life
ceases. However, with the use of simple end rhyme and an amusing story, Silverstein is able to
present a light hearted view of what could have been a tragedy.
amp;#9;Thumb Face, included in A Light in the Attic, is another example of Silverstein s use of
fantasy. The first line of the poem basically says it all: amp;quot; There is a face upon my thumb .
. .. amp;quot; (p. 55). For all practical purposes, this is an absurd situation. The speaker goes on to
describe the features of the small face on his/her thumb. Certain descriptions of the face imply a
sense of minuteness and leave the reader feeling compassionate for it because of its size. For
example, Silverstein wrote, amp;quot; It has a little twisty mouth, / And yellow teethies, too.
amp;quot; Again, Silverstein uses end rhyme in the pattern of amp;quot;a b c b, amp;quot; which
helps move the story along in a definite rhythm. While the subject matter is irrational, Silverstein
uses vivid descriptions and a straightforward picture

Formation Mechanism And Death Of The Chimneys
The geosystem to be explored is specifically the formation mechanism and death of the chimneys.
Hydrothermal vents usually occurs along tectonically active regions and are characterized by
geothermally heated water exiting from the sea bed. Cold water percolates through the sea bed and
travels through the bedrock. This cold water becomes heated geothermally and dissolves metals and
sulfides from surrounding rocks. The enriched hot water, superheated to on average 350вЃ°C, is
buoyant and escapes through an opening in the sea floor. The vent fluid exits the sea floor with a
flow rate up to several meters per second. As the hot enriched water comes into contact with the
cold sea water, a precipitationreaction occurs and the dissolved metals and sulfides precipitate out
along the vent opening. As more fluid is ejected from the vent, the taller the chimney grows.
Although many vents are depicted to have a single vent pipe through the chimney, they are
actually branched, as shown in figure 1 (Tivey and Delaney 1986). Black smokers specifically are
characterized by the black soot filled plume, primarily consisting of pyrrhotite, sphalerite, pyrite,
and traces of cubanite, rapidly flowing upwards from the seabed. Hydrothermal vents are
ephemeral by nature, and flow will stop randomly and permanently, leading to the death of the
chimney. Figure 1: On the left is the often used simplification of a single piped vent chimney from

Wedding Industry
Strategic Analysis Project Overview of the Wedding Industry The wedding industry is a large
industry in terms of dollars, but tracking where that money is spent is more difficult for several
reasons. First, it is an industry that is made up of multiple smaller enterprises like caterers,
wedding consultants, dresses, various beauty suppliers (hair, makeup), photographers, favors
/bridesmaids gifts, music, honeymoon related, etc. While the industry as a whole represents a lot
of money, each of the component parts is much smaller some smaller than others. These smaller
composite suppliers can be very local and likely will be small and privately owned traditionally the

Porter s Five Forces of Competition Framework 1. Rivalry Among Existing Firms High Medium
Low In wedding industry the rivalry among existing firms is considered medium. There are many
venues, but they vary by size, style, location, etc. So, in any given time and location, there are two
or four similar places that compete in the given location, time, style, and size. Some are doing
exclusively weddings; others expend their services to corporate events, birthdays, concerts, and
other outings. There are not that many historic mansions that offer wedding receptions, but they
compete with hotels, clubs, museums, restaurants, and other venues. 2. Treat of New Entrants High
Medium Low The treat of new entrants is not very high but is not low either. One needs to have
money to start this business in addition to the permits and licenses. For example, the new
competitor (in the case of Historic Mansion Events Venue) will have to find a Historic Mansion,
sometimes has to do full renovation (around $3Million), do landscaping (around $50K), install the
commercial kitchen and provide the in house catering and also implement an extensive and costly

Shortfalls Of Critical Thinking Analysis
Victor Davis Hanson s op ed piece about the dangers of defense cuts demonstrates shortfalls in
two critical thinking areas. These areas are POINT OF VIEW and EVALUATION OF
INFORMATION, as described by Dr. Gerras paper on critical thinking. Strategic leaders familiar
with the Dr. Gerras Critical Thinking Model are able to use it to analyze Mr. Hanson s article. It
is imperative that strategic leaders become critical thinkers. They can use Dr. Gerras model to
identify the various critical thinking shortfalls. There are multiple instances of POINT OF VIEW
and EVALUATION OF INFORMATION critical thinking shortfalls intertwined throughout the op
ed piece . The article uses a narrow POINT OF VIEW and egocentrism. It fails to consider any
justifications for President Obama s proposed $500 Billion in defense budget cuts. Mr. Hanson
provides only a cursory and somewhat dismissive acknowledgement of excess in the defense
budget. His exclusion to consider... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is important to identify them when conducting EVALUATION OF INFORMATION when
presented by peers, staff, or literature. The author litters the article with false dichotomy , false
cause, red herring, and slippery slope statements. The open salvo is itself a false dichotomy when
he claims the US either must either maintain defense spending or withdraw from world
involvement. Critical thinkers must also identify red herrings and discount that information used in
an attempt to support an argument. The comparison of training and compensating Soldiers to
College students with debt is a red herring, and it provides little to support maintaining defense
spending. Failure to recognize logical fallacies may lead to the acceptance of slippery slope
conclusions as presented through a myopic viewpoint. In this case, that is a decline in defense
spending will cause the decline of

Speech On Bike Safety
Bike Safety The Importance of Activeness
Biking is not only fun but also a healthy way to stay fit. The experience is breathtaking and
thrilling. However, unless the safety standards become a personal responsibility, chances are as
motorcyclists our lives are exposed to the risks. Therefore, you not only need your best motorcycle
helmet but also a solid understanding of what are the bike safety tips to be abreast of as you stay
active on the road. In addition, on why it is important to stay safe.
According to the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety, 2 percent of motor vehicle crash deaths
are related to bicyclists, worst injuries are to the head.

Inspect that your helmet has a safety sticker. Always wear your helmet when you ride.
Personally, I like those approved by the Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the Snell
Memorial Foundation, American National Standards Institute (ANSI) or American Society for
Testing and Materials (ASTM).
Tip 3: Leave enough space around
If you are riding on the footpath, be keen to check around for cars moving into and out of the
ridgeways. Keep in mind the pedestrians and give them enough space when passing them. Use your
bell or honk to let them know you are behind them and are about to overtake them.
Tip 4: Avoid distraction
This should be avoided at all costs. You need to stay hyper aware of everything going on around
you. Don t assume that drivers will always spot you on time.
Avoid taking your hands off your motorcycle or bike as this leaves you with less control, just in
case of an emergency need of braking or shifting a position. Don t wear headphones or put your
phone where it will be hard for you to get it, forcing you to react and end up being distracted.

Soil erosion is a natural process in which wind and water remove soil. The removal of the soil
roughly occurs at the same rate soil is formed. But accelerated soil erosion, is a far more recent
problem. The result is mankind s unwise actions, such as overgrazing or unsuitable cultivation
practices (Collins, 2001). Recent studies link deforestation to the accelerating soil erosion
process and to the leaching of naturally occurring mercury (Mainville, et al., 2006). The
acceleration of soil erosion then leads to land infertility affecting local and worldwide (Pimentel,
et al. 1995). Forest fragmentation is another hazard of deforestation. According to the EPA, the
fragmentation process breaks up large parts of forest into smaller pieces. Continuous
fragmentation may accelerate global warming by releasing carbon stored in trees (Wade, T.,
2003) The Ecuador Amazonian native communities are experiencing the environmental impacts in
their flora and fauna as well as risks to their health. Infectious disease dynamics are being altered
in animals and humans, strongly affecting cross species infection rates (Pongsiri, et al 2009).
Biodiversity loss may increase species into atypical ecological interactions, which facilitate
transmission. Diseases such as Lyme disease, Malaria, and Yellow Fever Possibly can be associated

Communication is diverse in where various departments must coordinate to respond to diverse and varied needs of clients within a healthcare organization. Without proper communication, the quality of work being rendered in the healthcare facility will be compromised. That s why the healthcare organization should invest communication in strategic and program planning process within a healthcare organization (Higgerson, 2013). Strategic, as used in this context refers to the particular plan of action that must be done to achieve the defined goal or the process of developing the particular plan with the ultimate intention of meeting the certain goal. The development of strategies in a healthcare organization is usually coordinated in local or national level and focus on a particular topic within a health care organization. • 3. When Making Public Policy Decisions 1.When making public policy decisions, policy makers must face a world with imperfect information and a finite amount of resources. Both of these realities put limitations on how effectively a policymaker can make people s lives better off. Obviously, it is impossible for anyone to perfectly predict how a certain policywill play out when it is enacted. This includes policymakers, who despite their noble goals of increasing the well being of society, can only make an educated guess about the effects a policy will have. Factors such as the fickleness of human nature or hidden information creates uncertainties that are hard to address when making policy. For example, in 1929 the causes of the Great Depression were not fully understood, but... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This has caused many people to call into question the workings of capitalism as it operates in the United States. By letting markets produce this outcome, it has become clear that the efficiency gained from this system is creating an equal loss in equality. Whether there exists a natural tradeoff between efficiency and equality or their inverse relationship is a product of our political system does not change the fact that the tradeoff exists in our current society and is affecting policy decisions. Policymakers who are against increasing equity see it leading to a moral hazard. By creating a safety net through redistribution, they believe it will eliminate the incentive for people to work hard and contribute to society. Government on the other hand would have to increase their work effort in order to create the bureaucracy responsible for ensuring that equality is maintained. If government is using up their resources and energy to achieve this goal, they are not only decreasing efficiency but also incurring an opportunity loss by not using those resources for other purposes that could benefit society in other ways. The way the United States government has handled the equality efficiency tradeoff shows that for the most part, they value efficiency more. As long as this tradeoff exists in our system, or even just the belief that it exists, the lower portions of society will have little hope to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 4. Locke And Hobbes Thomas Aquinas can be best described as a merge of Aristotelianism eudaimonism and Christian theology. He is known for blending these two subjects, although he did not directly accept every notion that Aristotle believed in. Theology s primary interest in a person is the principle of his actions, according to Hobbes. To judge these actions, he considers 3 topics: the object, the intention, and the circumstances that make up the three sources of the moralityof human acts. The object chosen is a good toward which the will guides itself, it is the matter of a human feat. The object chosen morally specifies the act, and is judged if it is within the true good. Unbiased criterions of morality express the balanced order of good and evil, indicated... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... John Locke and Thomas Hobbes both submitted differing versions of this state in Two Treatises of Government and Leviathan. Locke adheres to the Natural Law belief which asserts that men intrinsically have ethical sense which curbs them from participating in deplorable acts. These men know what is right and wrong and what is lawful, and can resolve conflicts reasonably. In natural state all people were equal, and everyone had a right to defend his or her life, health, liberty, or possessions. Therefore, Locke believed in a self ruling, civil society, unlike Hobbes. Hobbes s ultimate ambition is to secure as many pleasures as possible and to avoid pain and aversions with no regard for others. He is primarily focused on Self Interest, a core tenant of Hobbism. He believes people have no conception of good and evil, instead it is up to their culture or upbringing to decide this. Justice or Property do not exist, only egoism, which he believes is logical. Hobbes believes that the state of nature is therefore not corrupt, or obscene, but plainly amoral. There are no morals, according to ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. Culture is always changing and it defines an individual’s... Culture is always changing and it defines an individual s every day life. Everyone experiences culture differently, which it is why it is difficult to give a definitive definition. The simplest way to define culture is as, an experiences that shapes a person s worldview. Some of the different factors that shape cultureare race, ethnicity, sexuality, gender, religion, age, education and geographical location. Culture is not static; it is spread amongst societies and embraced in different ways. Learning about someone s cultural experience is the key to learning about that person and truly getting to know them because their culture defines who they are. It is always interesting to meat someone for the first time because the curiosity of who ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The cultural lecture explains that change is spread in two different forms, invention and diffusion. Invention is defined as the creation of something new whereas diffusion is a copy of something that has already been invented. An example of this is frozen yogurt. This delicious dessert is nothing new to people who live in Los Angeles County; restaurants like Pinkberry, Yogurtland and Menchies have been around for many years but for the people of Kern County the frozen treat is new. Frozen yogurt is a borrowed idea from other cultures that eventually was brought to the United States, but even once it was in the states it has taken a few years for the idea to spread. Learning about different cultures and wanting what they have is the most basic example of how cultures change, spread and intertwine. Different cultures can offer different things which can be beneficial to other cultures that have not yet discovered a new technology or skill. The welcoming nature that some societies have of different cultures is the reason why European culture was so easily spread but the same can be said about cultures that did not embrace cultural change. When Jared Diamond describes how western cultures eventually dominated the world in his book, Guns, Germs, and Steel , he fails to say why European culture swept the world. Diamond believes ... • 6. Walking In The City Analysis The desire for a Utopian city is not a surprising aspiration. While in an ideal world cities could be plotted and planned out perfectly, the readings from this week explore why this is not productive to attempt in society, and also discuss the problems with city planning and government policies. While the readings do not necessarily complement each other entirely, they all appear to be speaking for the same message. The rigorous structure and planning, whether by cityplanners or government organizations, is toxic to urban life, as it has aided racial segregation, disrupted the natural flow and security of city dwellers, and created a divided metropolis (Sugrue). The reading from Kenneth Jackson, titled Race, Ethnicity, and Real Estate... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Jacobs condemns the Monotony, sterility, and vulgarity of current urban structuring and well planned out cities, such as Le Corbusier s radiant city, that are destroying the culture and order that are essential to diverse city life (Jacobs). Jacobs highlights that the social structure of pavement life hangs partly on what can be called self appointed public characters, and therefore city planning involving set structures and pretended order disrupts this essential social format. Jacobs also explores the discriminatory attitudes towards immigrants and slums, as the readings from Jackson and Segue did. Jacobs discusses the north end of Boston and it s improper labelling. The north end was regarded as slum and a place full of immigrants, but went Jacobs went to see for herself, she discovered a strong community, infectious laughter, and children playing a far cry from the label society had placed upon it. When asking if there was any possibility of getting a loan for new construction in north end, she was dismissed with only the words that s a slum (Jacobs), demonstrating the misconception and bias towards various communities that erroneous city planning has ... • 7. The Goal By Alex Rogo Scott Moore February 23, 2015 The Goal Assignment The Goal Analysis The main character in The Goal , Alex Rogo, manages a production plant that is unprofitable and not efficient with its resources. Alex is given a short amount of time to turn the operations at the plant around and make it an efficient, successful production plant. Throughout the book, Alex Rogo speaks to Jonah a number of times and learns a great amount of information from him. The first significant time that Alex and Jonah spoke was during their chance meeting at an airport lounge. During this conversation, Alex learned a great deal about productivity and goal setting. Jonah explains to Alex that a company has one goal and that the manager must be open about the goal. Jonah then discusses the definition of productivity with Alex and tells him that the true definition is bringing a company closer to its goal that it has set. Among these concepts that Alex learned, he also learned more about his own management style and how it could be improved. Alex learned that he must question common concepts regarding managing and that he must think differently in order to be successful. The second time Alex spoke to Jonah was after finding his contact information in his old address book. During this conversation, Alex realizes that accustomed profitability measures cannot be applied to the plant he is managing and he must follow measures that better relate to his individual plant. Beacon Day Center Case Study According to Beacon Law.org, the motto states that The Beacon is a place where services are being provided to help restore dignity, self respect, and hope to Houston s poor and homeless . However, discrimination against the transgender population in The Beacon Day Center has increased significantly over the past six months I began my intern, I attended Tuesday and Thursday at the agency. I observed 10% of the transgender clients of The Beacon Day Center are affected through this problem. The Beacon staff and volunteers do not practice what their motto states, rather, they are showing an indifference to the motto. In addition, Beacon needs to educate the staff on how to avoid discriminating or stereotyping against this population. Beacon should have a policy and procedures pamphlet outlined and attached to the agency manual on how to treat people with dignity and respect. Furthermore, The Beacon should implement a service first policy that will enable them to offer services without showing partiality to any gender. This change in policy and procedures will include acceptance positive rules of the transgender population. This change will make it necessary for The Beacon Day Center to receive additional funding through Gala that will allow an increase in training staff. This change will assist with the restructuring of their current staff and implement roles that will include all responsibilities. One of the barriers that might exist is effective communication for all staff to become agents of change. But this problem could be handled by consistently offering quarterly training to all employees avoid resistance to change. Theology is the study of God, and further the Theology of the Pentateuch is defined as what is the Pentateuch teaching us about God today. The Pentateuch is another name for the Torah, which consists of the first five books of the Biblical canon. Studying the theological vision contained within the Pentateuch is crucial to scholars since it is this vision that shapes the principal form of this work. Further, the foundation for the theology of God is set forth in the rest of the Bible. Alexander and Baker hold fast in agreement and proceed to say, Yet the faith and varied responses of the ancestors and Israelites are best grasped in relation to covenant making, covenant breaking and renewals of covenant . In particular, Genesis focuses on the relationship between God and man and thus Genesis does not present a static theology of God s involvement with humanity, but regardless of his mode of engagement, God is present and active . However, the sin of man arrived into the world and these relationships were fractured. Given that land was stolen from Palestinian natural sovereignty via actions taken by Israel in wars which Palestine proper was not a participant to, Israel must also pay reparations to the Palestinian State as well as its citizens so as to compensate for the crimes against humanity which it has committed over the course of the last several decades. Cemented by the renunciation of violence which the PLO has undertaken, Palestinians can no longer be held accountable for the actions of Hamas and other terrorist groups, and an independent Palestinian state commits to joining the War on Terror righteously fought by Israel and its allies. The Minimal Acceptable Borders of a Palestinian State Beginning with the minimal acceptable borders of a Palestinian State, these must be congruent with the original United Nations Settlement plan put forth by the UN prior to Israeli conquest in 1949 With Rowntree et al. (2014) noting that the original 1948 borders of Israel were already in violation of the proposed United Nations Settlement, Israel s borders are ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

It is hugely popular game in the world and this is why it is the most played game of the world and almost all the countries of the Europe have their own football leagues and the Barclays premier league of Englandis the most widely watched league of all, even in the countries that don t have a proper footballsetup and team like India and Pakistan. Other countries of different continents also have their own leagues but that are not very much popular around the world. This game has everything for people of all the age groups and that is why it is widely played, followed and liked all around the world. Football is one of the most ancient game of the world and there are proofs that this game was played in one form or another in many old civilizations and this can be seen the portraits and paintings of these old civilizations in which people were seen playing football and this is probably the biggest reason due to which the game is very popular around the world and is played all around the world and it has been transferred to each other through generations. Problem: There are some problems that can be associated with this game and the biggest one of them is racism. Even after all these years and fight against racism the plague of racism has not been completely removed from the game of the football and events of racism can be seen after every few days. • 12. `` Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep Phillip Dick s Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep is a science fiction novel describing humanity s struggle for survival in a post apocalyptic world after a nuclear war has irradiated the Earth, the world is pretty much a wasteland, forcing humans to create a separate colony on Mars. The novel explores the importance of empathy in an increasingly technological world where humans struggle for relevance. In the spirit of Phillip K. Dick s questioning of reality and identity, it only makes sense to state that the Androids symbolize and mimic human capacity for empathy; therefore, worthy of living. Yet, ironically, this does not hold to be true, or at least, not to the fictional human race in this novel. In fact, it is made clear that Androids are only products designed to serve their every need; to make life easier. Human like androids have been developed to help with the colonization on another planet, but as shown in this novel, they have a habit of escaping to Earth illegally; in pursuit of a better life without any obligations to serve the human race. Rick Deckard is a bounty hunter , a police official who hunts down androids illegally fleeing Mars to hide and find a home on Earth. Police bounty hunters use an empathy test to identify them, hunt them down and retire them. But as the new Voigt Kampff test proves, the Androids are incapable of responding properly to emotional situations where empathy is required, which usually surrounds concepts demonstrating the ... The End of the F*cking World is a recently added Netflix Original that focuses on the journey of James and Allison in what seems to be a dark adaptation of Bonnie Clyde. This rollercoaster of emotions had me on the edge of my seat (my bed) the whole time. The story is not very clear for the first couple episodes. A lot happens in the first few episodes with no apparent linear progressive story. The story ties itself back around in a way that is not expected. The biggest thing that kept me watching through the entire series was the fact that there was not a dry moment at all. From the time that the episode starts, to the time that the title appears on the credits screen, continuous jaw dropping moments occur. A big issue that I had with the way the television series ... There was a specific scene where the main girl Allison is being attacked and James stabs the guy. Blood pours from the guys neck all over the girl. The lingo and vocabulary was different than that of my culture, and I found myself, sometimes not quite understanding what was said. I didn t know any of the cast members, so it was a little difficult to find a relation between myself and them. The advantage of having a cast of unknown actors and actresses, is that an audience member doesn t have a relation to another movie with that character. For example. • 16. Gender Identity Is The Assumption Of There Being Binary... Binary Logic: Another issue with research pertaining to sexual identity is the assumption of there being binary categories, such as gay/straight, male/female, etc. Research in this area is generally dichotomized (e.g. male/female, gay/straight), which can foster rigid identity assumptions, foster homogeneous understanding of research particiapnts and results, foster a divide between normal and deviant behavior, as well as mask inherent variation in different groups and populations (Johnson Repta, 2012). Bringing greater awareness to the complexity of sexual and gender identity could have transformative effects on how research is conducted. Some scholars in the social work field have begun to acknowledge and recognize the increasing evidence that sexual and gender identity are not binary categories, as well that categories might not even be an accurate way of understanding these phenomena (Burdge, 2007; Roche Gringeri, 2010). While an understanding that the binary model is flawed has gained some traction in social work research, the majority of researchers continue to ignore and disregard this possibility, consequently reinforcing this erroneous dichotomous paradigm (Rassi, 2011). It has also been noted that critiques from postmodern, poststructural, and queer theory perspectives, as well as from individuals or groups (e.g. transgender, bisexual, intersex) who do not fit neatly into binary categories continue to remain essentially absent within social work ... The supposed faithful friends display their true cruelty and expose their hypocrisy in relation to the Pardoner s character. One main theme in The Wife of Bath s Tale is female dominance and equality. In the tale, the wife portrays her dominance through her own experience. For example, the image of the whip sets her role as master, and she tells everyone that she is the head of her household. Despite her claim that experience is her sole power, the Wife of Bath evidently feels the need to create her authority in a more scholarly manner. She mimics the habits of the scholars and churchmen by supporting her claims with quotations from antique works and scripture. The Wife of Bath apparently attempts to emphasize female dominance over men. She contradicts many of the harsh customs and declares her own haughty assessment of women s function in society and in relationships. In the story, Chaucer explains that what women want is sovereignty over their husbands. According to the tale, women desire to be treated as masters over their love. The story also suggests that ... In 2006 the sport boat market had a total value of $6.9 billion; that value has climbed by 9.3% each year, and that trend is expected to continue for the next 3 years. Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This helps minimize negative impact to the surface/ground water reservoirs in two different ways. One, this reduces the risk of algal blooms in the surface waters. Algal blooms occur due to the excess amount of nutrients in the water, causing eutrophication. Eutrophication causes huge plant and algae growth because of the increased amount of nutrients. Then the plants and algae die and bacteria causes the plants/algae to decompose, using up dissolved oxygen. This results in a lack of oxygen, hypoxia and anoxia, in the water. Therefore, many organisms such as the fish die due to the lack of dissolved oxygen in the water. Two, this increases the potential of infiltration. Water flows from impermeable areas like buildings to the settling pond where it can infiltrate into the ground. Rip rap is the surface cover of the water retention pond. Rip rap creates channels for water to flow through, giving its high infiltration rate. Even though most of the water would be drained by the drainage pipes, some would be infiltrated into the soil. Another water control feature is having a vegetative surface cover on the hillsides of the venue. As seen in Figure 2, grass, a vegetative cover, covers the southern hill and trees cover the northern hill. The vegetation stabilizes the soil, preventing erosion and gulleys. The vegetative surface cover on the hillsides also increases the potential for infiltration. Grass has a high infiltration rate because the roots and the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

This style was evident in his works, the Loser, ThumbFace, Warning, Squishy Touch, and Skin Stealer. Through the description of these absurd circumstances, Silverstein was able to entertain readers of all ages. amp;#9;In Sely Friday s reference to a biography, Shel Silverstein was quoted as saying, amp;quot; . . . However, with the use of simple end rhyme and an amusing story, Silverstein is able to present a light hearted view of what could have been a tragedy. amp;#9;Thumb Face, included in A Light in the Attic, is another example of Silverstein s use of fantasy. The speaker goes on to describe the features of the small face on his/her thumb. • 47. Formation Mechanism And Death Of The Chimneys The geosystem to be explored is specifically the formation mechanism and death of the chimneys. Hydrothermal vents usually occurs along tectonically active regions and are characterized by geothermally heated water exiting from the sea bed. Cold water percolates through the sea bed and travels through the bedrock. This cold water becomes heated geothermally and dissolves metals and sulfides from surrounding rocks. The enriched hot water, superheated to on average 350вЃ°C, is buoyant and escapes through an opening in the sea floor. The vent fluid exits the sea floor with a flow rate up to several meters per second. As the hot enriched water comes into contact with the cold sea water, a precipitationreaction occurs and the dissolved metals and sulfides precipitate out along the vent opening. As more fluid is ejected from the vent, the taller the chimney grows. Although many vents are depicted to have a single vent pipe through the chimney, they are actually branched, as shown in figure 1 (Tivey and Delaney 1986). Black smokers specifically are characterized by the black soot filled plume, primarily consisting of pyrrhotite, sphalerite, pyrite, and traces of cubanite, rapidly flowing upwards from the seabed. Hydrothermal vents are ephemeral by nature, and flow will stop randomly and permanently, leading to the death of the chimney. The open salvo is itself a false dichotomy when he claims the US either must either maintain defense spending or withdraw from world involvement. Critical thinkers must also identify red herrings and discount that information used in an attempt to support an argument. The comparison of training and compensating Soldiers to College students with debt is a red herring, and it provides little to support maintaining defense spending. But accelerated soil erosion, is a far more recent problem. The result is mankind s unwise actions, such as overgrazing or unsuitable cultivation practices (Collins, 2001).
