2. The Juggler Poem
The poem The juggler describes how the tricks the juggler acts out for the crowd amaze and
intrigue them. In the poem The Juggler by Richard Wilbur, the author uses imagery, figurative
language and tone to describe the juggler as someone who brings happiness and fun to others.
The use of imagery, figurative language, and tone are used to describe the juggler and reveal the
speaker s own views about the world.
In the poem the author uses imagery to describe the juggler s appearance and the tricks he is
accomplishing in his show. Richard says, it takes a sky blue juggler with five red balls...to shake
our gravity up. (lines 6 7). The author describes the juggler as being the color blue and having 5
red balls during his show. He also that it took a sky blue juggler... to shake our gravity up. (lines
6 7). By saying this the audience is able to get an insight into the life of the speaker; we are able
to see that not a lot of things happen in the speaker s life that make the speaker happy. Moreover,
Richard Wilbur shows the reader on of the tricks the juggler is doing. He says, Oh, on his toe the
table is turning, the broom s Balancing up on his nose, and the plate whirls. On the tip of the
broom! (lines 9 21). We can see the juggler as he is performing his great trickand how the crowd is
happy and amazed at his trick when the author says, Damn, what a show,we cry... ( line 21). Having
the crowd cheer at the juggler completes his trick of the balancing act showed that

4. Family Systems Theory Vs Family System Theory
I think that the Family System Theory and the Ecological System Theory are two important basic
beliefs about children, families, and family involvement. The system in the family system theory is
a system of people connected together and if one part isn t working things fall apart.
The elements that make up The Family System Theory are structures, rules, and boundaries.
Structures have to deal with behavioral patterns that are repeated made by the family. Rules are
used to agree and deal with situations. Each family has certain rules that are self regulating and
work for certain families. Boundaries are special rules that govern the interactions between
subsystems in the family. It helps families function well.

6. Industrial Areas From Centralization And Neoliberal...
With the start of globalization and international expansion cities became a more significant part
for various industry sectors. By 2000, more than 500 cities had more than one million
inhabitants. According to the United Nations, 54% of the world s population currently live in
urban areas. Urbanization combined with the overall growth of the world s population could add
another 2.5 billion people to urban populations by 2050, with close to 90 percent of the increase
concentrated in Asia and Africa. This significant change of urbanization will lead to challenges in
satisfying the needs for housing, infrastructure, transportation, energy supply and employment, as
well as for basic services such as education and health care . This report will critically discuss
three key elements in relation to urbanisation: political economy, economic growth in urban areas
and urban sociology. With this discussion, I will argue that the shift in urban areas from
centralization and neoliberal globalisation had effected society in different parts of the world
differently. Since this essay is only looking at three main aspects, this is not a complete discussion
of the matter, but it is intended to provide an insight in the main aspects of economic development
in urban areas. POLITICAL URBAN DEVELOPMENT The study of urban politics is the study
what occurs on the ground, among people who share the same space for day to day living. This
makes the study of urban politics particularly challenging

7. Korean American Language
The limits of my language are the limits of my world. Ludwig Wittgenstein I am a Korean
American, meaning that while my ethnicity is Korean, my nationality is American. This
circumstance of my birth determined, unconsciously, the way I would live for a long time. I
was born and raised in the city of Loma Linda, California, and was raised there for six years.
Korean was the first language I officially learned; however, English soon dominated my tongue
because I began attending English speaking preschool and kindergarten. My brain soon was
washed of the words I had known and had been left with basic Korean terms behind like umma
(mom) and appa (dad). Little did I know how much I would regret losing the language I had
inherited. Upon my dad s graduation from Loma Linda University as a dentist, when I was six,
we moved to Texas, because my dad had (previously) enlisted in the U.S. Air Force. In the small
town of Wichita Falls, there were very few Asians, let alone Koreans. It was there that I began to
become fully immersed within the English language and the American culture. However, the Air
Force moved us to Korea a year later, to the home of my ancestors. By then, I considered myself an
American, no longer a Korean. I still attended an... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Analysis (350 words) The short story, Behind Closed Doors , is about a young girl who is
tricked into getting trafficked by being given the incentive of earning money for her sick father s
treatment. It vividly describes the betrayal by the protagonist s uncle in entering her into this sick
human trafficking trade. Her uncle s communicative behavior and registers show that at times bad
things must be done for a good reason. First, the use of communicative behavior allows us to see
how the uncle appeared as bad at first and we later find that he actually did those things for a good
reason. It shows us that because the buyer could not handle the little girl he actually got out of the

When the Holocaust is mentioned, the first thing people think of is usually the concentration camps
or Hitler. Most people forget about the other tragic events that occurred outside of the camps. More
importantly, they usually identify they blame the wrong people who had committed these crimes.
The Einsatzgruppenhad operated in the territories and areas owned by the Germans.
For those who might not understand, I would like to explain who the Einsatzgruppen were. The
Einsatzgruppen had a variety of nicknames that they were called. For instance, they were called the
killing squads and the mobile killing units. The Einsatzgruppen were squads composed primarily of
German SS and police personnel (ushmm.org) . Using a list compiled by the RSHA ... Show more

In the late summer of 1941, Heinrich Himmler requested that a more convenient mode of killing be

monoxide from the truck s exhaust to kill its victims (ushmm.org) . Gas vans had made their
appearance in the late fall of 1941 and were used wherever the Einsatzgruppen operated
(ushmm.org) . Although I did not read where they took the vans, I am guessing that they
traveled from town to town searching for Jews. There was probably a set number of gas vans
that were assigned a certain area to attack so that they could cover more ground. Two different
types of gas vans had been built: a larger one, 5.8 meters in length, and a smaller one, measuring
4.5 meters (Levine, jewishvirtuallibrary.org) . When densely packed, the small van could hold 80
to 100 people and the larger van could accommodate between 130 and 150 people (Levine,

contained a hermetically sealed rear cabin (Levine, jewishvirtuallibrary.org) . The rear cabin
was where the Jews were stored and where the gas had been released. During the time at which
people were being gassed, the van was driven from the loading site to the prepared graves

10. Compare And Contrast Alice And Pecola
It sounds weird to say this but one of my favorite conflicts in the story is when Pecola is being
bullied by some boys in school, they kept calling her names when Freida and Claudia came to
defend her. Their attempt doesn t help, but when a pretty girl named Maureen chimes in the
boys leave. Then the girls stroll around in the city and get ice cream. They start to converse and
Pecola slips out that she has seen her father naked. Maureen starts making fun of Pecola and it
makes her feel uncomfortable, that s when Freida and Claudia chase Maureen away. This
showed a strong unity of their friendship. They stuck up for her and made her feel wanted. Blue
eyes seem to revolve around this novel; it is what Americans see as beautiful. Other characters
think of blue eyes differently. For example, Claudia hates the blue eyes of her white dolls and
doesn t like the fact that this is the only way for people to see you as beautiful. For Pecola
having blue eyes is something she would die for. She believes that if she had blue eyes her life
would have turned out differently, her parents would have loved her, her classmates wouldn t
make fun of her, and someone would tell her she was beautiful. Because of Pecola s low self
esteem as a poor black child she does not believe in her own beauty. She spends her life praying for
a miracle that... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

John Wooden once said Success is never final, Failure is never fatal. This is related to the
question of what my views of success are. To give you better insight on this question I will tell you
how i would define success using John Wooden s Pyramid of Success , identify the three most
important traits from the pyramid of success, to me, explain how they create success, and why i
thought they were the most important. Next I will use examples from the movie Hoosiers, tell
you what success looks like for the people involved, the emotions they had after their success, and
how the success impacted their lives. Lastly I will define success in my own eyes and how I have
been successful in my life.
I would define success as achieving a goal that you set out for. The three most important things on
John Wooden s Pyramid of Success are Confidence, Condition and Fight. These create success in
many ways. If you have confidence to win you will always win or come very close. If your team
is in condition you will be able to outwork the other team and be success. And if you willing to
fight to win then you will be successful in every accept of life. I thought these were important

Revenge, the abuse of authority and the desire for power are all present in both Arthur Miller s

you need to know something about the case. Three young boys were murdered on May 5, 1993

underwater in the nearby creek where they stayed until they were found the next day. Little
evidence was collected the day of their discovery, what was recovered was mislabeled and

gain power was also present in Arthur Miller s play, The Crucible. Taking place in 1692, a time

The Popularity of A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens
I Think that A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens is still popular today because it has a good

still interested in the afterlife and if such things as ghosts even exist we are fascinated by them and
a novel with ghosts in, we cannot put it down. The moral story which seems even in modern day

A Christmas Carol has changed from the days that Charles Dickens wrote it by constantly updating
itself. There are numerous ways a book can update itself but A Christmas Carol has been made
in to a funny film A Muppets Christmas Carol which scrooge is played by Michael Caine which
makes it more interesting to the generation of the times. It also makes the plot more appealing to
the younger generation who will read books such as A Christmas Carol . The Muppets have
done a fantastic job of recreating the story and is told by two Muppets who follow scrooge
around the story commentating to the scenes that need playing. Also a major part that has
changed is the language; this version has got rid of confusing and mind baffling words in some
of the newer versions of the classical story. An example of this is Spectre and Humbug which is
a way of saying someone has been annoying or talking a load of nonsense. Now they use words
that even the youngest of people will recognize. This also makes the book more interesting
because it does not seem as old or as outdated, which in most cases is a good thing.

Part 4: Using Donna s Story, develop a discussion about child welfare.
When looking at Donna s story, one must analyze how the child welfare system and government
failed to help Donna as a child and young adult. In this part of the paper, I will also be analyzing
her story from an Aboriginal perspective. As mentioned previously, Donna might have social work
involvement in her life because someone has reported her, as a parent, to the government. In this
case, the rights of Donna are secondary to the rights of her children, and a social worker must
work in the best interest of the children as mandated by legislation. From a child protection stance,
the social worker, on limited government resources and with a heavy caseload, will put the children

compassion for Donna and understood the plight of Aboriginal peoples, but did not have the

In 1932, when Franklin Roosevelt becomes the president of the United States, his wife, Eleanor
Roosevelt benefits from that position and as the video says she, used its influence to promote
her own ideas . Being the first lady, allowed her to serve as a role model and encourage her point

Declaration of Humans Right, began after president Roosevelt die in 1945. One year after his
dead, in 1946, the succeeding president, Harry S. Truman, invited her to be a United Nations
delegate, and a year later, she was chosen to be the chair of United Nations Commission on Human
Rights. In her role as Chief, Eleanor made sure that the declaration was written simple and clear so
that everyone could understand it. She also managed that the other delegates, in the Humans Right
Commission, come to agreements with each other, about a particular topic of discussion and that

18. Determinism, Hard And Soft
Determinism: According to Sappington (1990) there are two types of determinism, hard and soft.
He states that those who hold hard determinism say that human behavior is completely determined
by outside factors and that ideas such a free will or moral responsibility are meaningless. Many
famous psychologists take this approach such as Freud who believed that people s behavior is
controlled by unconscious factors and any conscious reasons given are simply the brain
rationalizing actions to the superego. Skinner argued against Freud and said that behavior is
determined by their reinforcement histories. Although they argue on the finer points they both
believe that conscious choice is irrelevant.
The second kind of determinism that Sappington (1990) speaks of is soft determinism which is the
belief that human behavior is determined, but this does not mean that free will is incompatible with
it. This view is says that people make choices that affect their lives but these choices themselves are
determined by other factors. According to Sappington (1990) Hobbes, Locke Hume, and Mill
represent this position among with many other famous psychologists. The idea of soft determinism
is not controversial in psychology today. (Sappington 1990)
Is belief in free will or determinism mutually exclusive or can one hold both views? Philosophers
have contrasted compatibilist and incompatibilist positions (Sappington 1990). Incompatibilists
argue that people cannot believe both views, while

24. Franchising Is The Single Most Successful Marketing...
Franchising is the wave of the future, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce. John
Naisbitt writes in Megatrends that Franchising is the single most successful marketing concept
ever. Nowadays, McDonald s Corporation has 36,368 restaurants around the world. McDonald s
has established its success based on a widespread practise in capitalistic societies, known as
franchising. Many entrepreneurs (the franchisees) have chosen to acquire a franchise to access the
knowledge, the trademark, and the processes of a corporation (the franchisor); in order to sell a
product, or provide a service under the business name. In return, depending on the franchise
contract, the franchisee usually pays additional money for the start up of his company, and annual
licensing fees. Franchises are extremely popular among entrepreneurs who wish to operate in highly
competitive industries, such as fast food industry. In fact, franchises biggest advantage is
trademarks. Through franchising, entrepreneurs gain access to an established company s brand
name, already known by the customers. Also, the franchisor often provides assistance before and
during the life of the franchise. Of course, success is not guaranteed, and work and talent have to be
invested to attain profits. Many americans have achieved wealthiness through franchising. Thus,
despite the fact that some entrepreneurs who attempted this endeavor have not been so fortunate,
and eventually declared bankruptcy, I strongly believe

25. Positive And Negative Effects Of Cars
Automobiles brought more positive and negative effects than any other invention in the history of
transportation. Although the transportation industry may be revolutionized within the next few
decades, cars stand out as the single most used transportation method. Cars affected not only
American society but all societies in incomparable ways they changed life at home, the economy,
the environment, and even people s love lives. Since their invention, automobiles have changed the
way society functions as well as having greatly impacted America s economy.
J. Frank and Charles Duryea designed the first American automobile in 1893. He sold them at $650
about $16,000 today making them cheap and accessible. Car makers were faced with the
dilemma of balancing the quality of the car and its price. They had to figure out a way to make
a car with materials they could afford to sell for price that would create enough revenue to keep
their business afloat. The car industry grew immensely, and by 1913 the United States produced
485,000 of 600,000 vehicles produced in the world. By 1920, cars were supremely important to the
petroleum industry and became the biggest customer of the steel industry. The large demand for
higher quality cars greatly accelerated their improvement. In just 20 years, cars had self starters, a
closed frame made entirely of steel, a high compression engine, hydraulic brakes, synchromesh
transmissions, and low pressure balloon tires. These changes made cars look

What Really Happens to Us
The public influences the private to the extent that no one can leave the world s ideas or thoughts
that it throws onto them. Over time, their safe haven of their private space changes and just
becomes part of the vast empty world. Men and women can no longer be free to choose the way
they want to act; instead the public eye forces them into certain behaviors like gender roles. These
roles consist of how they should act, how they should speak, and how they should present
themselves. The United States of America s long tradition and definition of manliness has continued

In this story it primarily expresses what the idea of a man is, and how it that idea is extremely
narrow and regularly unfair. To help reinforce this, the author Paul Theroux gives an example in
his essay Be a man! strikes me as insulting and abusive. It means: Be stupid, be unfeeling,
obedient, soldierly, and stop thinking. (Theroux 1). That quote depicts Theroux s view of what
American society wants in men, and how it is exceedingly narrow and doesn t give much room
for anything else. Theroux is stating that that being a man means you have to follow one of these
traits. One of those points leads us that men have a sense of being brash, cold hearted, loyal,
warrior, and most importantly be tough. This sense of being tough is so dominate it allows for a
constant pressure to up hold this in the public eye. Like Theroux, many men have to abide by these
rules in order to within societal conformity. That means for males, they can only be seen as tough
when it comes to everything.
If a boy were to fall and scrape their knee and begin to cry at a young age, his father would most
likely respond to him by saying Stop crying, and be tough . But why would his father do such a
thing? The popular answer to that is because his father once said that to him when he fell and did
the same thing. This common example is exceptionally real and reinforces that men, whether boy or

4 Differing Reading on The Tempest
Simply looking at the text in isolation The Tempest is a complex mixture of a comedy, a tragedy
and a romance. Although it was originally categorised as a comedy, it is more modernly thought of
as a romance. It has the classical element of a comedy, with clownish characters, odd occurrences
and resolution; it also has some very dominating Romantic features. The story, although ultimately
about revenge, is also a story of naГЇve love and forgiveness. It tells of chivalry, the supernatural as
well as exotic, unknown location by the sea, all drawn from traditional romance. By looking
beyond the text itself, the decision on it elusive genre can be decided by perspective.

This idea then ties into Montaigne s Of Cannibals , an essay that questions the idea that society
dictates if someone is different, you are therefore superior. Many and the 19th century exposed
groups of savage people s simplistic lifestyle. The character of Caliban especially seems to create
contrasting views on people in their natural state. Although Shakespeare s The Tempestand Of
Cannibals sharply contrast, and Caliban often disproves Montaigne theories, they also draw so
similarities, linking both texts through the character Caliban. Although Caliban s character is
often shown in a negative way, he also had several speeches that give the audience an idea of his
perception and humanity, which isn t as savage as first perceived. He represents a stereotype and
image many had of these savages in faraway lands, influence by books or others stories. Both
texts beg the question of what has changed, what we have learned, and what we perceive as
savagery; is it a simplistic lifestyle, or the colonising of other land though force and power.
Colonialism is the discovery and control of new lands, and was a big issue around Shakespeare s

28. Pretribulationist View On Pre-Tribulational Rapture
The Pre Tribulational Rapture
For much of History since Jesus Christ s ascension, the predominant view of the rapture was that it
would occur after the Tribulation. There has been extensive debate over whether the Church will
have to endure the hardships of The Tribulation, or be caught up in the air with Christ before those
events begin. Doctrines such as posttribulationism went virtually untouched until 1948, when Israel
reestablished itself as a state. Once that significant event occurred, many people reconsidered the
idea of a pretribulational rapture of the church. A pretribulational rapture is the correct viewpoint
because the Bible the Bible is the Word of God and should be taken literally, an alternative is not
mentioned, and it does not In order to fully understand Pretribulationism, one must understand the
predominant opposing theories. First, Posstribulationism is the belief that the Rapture of the saints
will occur at the same time of the second coming of Jesus Christ. While adherents of this view vary
on their opinions, most hold to a few key tenets. Most Posttribulationists attempt to spiritualize the
Tribulation as a series of past events along with any prophetical events mentioned in the Bible that
would lend itself to support the Pretribulationist viewpoint. They tend to not hold to the Bible as
completely inerrant and also often intermingle the Church with Israel. Second, the Pre wrath rapture

Challenges/Barriers
One thing that kept coming up in our conversation with Kelly was their need for more funding.
They survive completely on donations and receive no state funding. Therefore, Ele s Place as
Kelly put it, runs pretty thin. She said they always need more money for advertising and more
staff so that they can reach more children. Across all four branches of Ele s Place, there are only
51 staff employees. Because of this, they heavily rely on volunteers, which can be a tricky
business. We talked about how it s sometimes hard to keep volunteers accountable and when it
takes on average 25 volunteers to run just one night of programs, it can be very difficult when
volunteers don t show up. She also mentioned that because there are so few employees, they all
have to wear many hats to keep the programs running. Another challenge that Kelly mentioned was
society s ideas about children and grief. She told us that the Ele s Place staff is often confronted
with this idea that children don t really grieve, and if they do, it s only in brief moments and
doesn t require any counseling or services to aid in their recovery. She also noted that there is a
stigma around talking about death in our society. Kelly mentioned a local

Synthesis and Analysis of Iron(III) Oxalate Complex Discussion
This experiment initially involved the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate complex with the general
formula Kw[Fex(C2O4)y] zH2O. The variables x, y, and z were determined
through the duration of the entire experiment. Part 1 involves the synthesis of an iron (III) oxalate
complex. The iron is first presented in its Fe2+ form, so it must first be oxidized to
Fe3+ before the oxalate ion will readily bind to it. Hydrogen peroxide is the oxidant of choice:
2Fe2+ (aq) + H2O2 (l) + 2H+ (aq) 2Fe3+ (aq) + 2H2O (l), in acidic solution.
The oxalate ion is then free to coordinate to the Fe3+ ion, forming a ... Show more content on

Part 2 of this experiment invoked the use of redox
titrating to determine the oxalate content (C2O42 ) of the salt. An aqueous solution of the iron
oxalate salt is prepared for titration, and the oxalate content is found through analysis
by measuring the volume of titrant.
Part 3 of the experiment utilized Spectrophotometry to determine the iron content in the iron (III)
oxalate complex. The results were combined with findings from Part 1 and
Part 2 to determine the empirical formula and percentage yield of the compound synthesized in Part
1. Spectrophotometry is a routine laboratory test that has the added advantage
of being able to analyze multiple samples in a short amount of time. The most efficient way of
determining concentration is to prepare a set of standard solutions of known
concentration, record the absorbance readings at a fixed wavelength, and plot the absorbance vs.
concentration data. The wavelength of 520 nm was selected for experiment Part
3 because this is the maximum absorbance for the iron (III) ion. The Beer s Law Plot that was
graphed came out to be linear with an equation of:

The empirical formula that was determined was different from that of the true compound
mentioned. The empirical formula determined was:

III.LITERATURE SURVEY Many researchers have studied the transformation between BPMN

exist into the practical use of BPMN. Most notably is the work of Ouyang et al. [10, 11] and [12],
who propose that BPMN to BPEL transformation be accomplished by multiple phase matching of
pattern and graph transformation. An algorithm for generating readable BPEL code from BPMN
model is presented in [10] which generates BPEL code from BPMN model by discovering
structural patterns in the BPMN models which in turn are mapped into BPEL structured activities.

Event handler is enabled while the scope is under execution and thus the corresponding translation
is based upon the event action rule. The Standard Process Model (SPM) is decomposed into a
collection of event action rules that trigger one another to encode the underlying control flow logic.
The fundamental idea is to define precondition set (i.e., encapsulating all the possible ways of
reaching an activity) for all the activities in SPM. Each precondition set is associated with an
activity and defines the possible way of enabling the activity. Afterwards, all the precondition set
with their associated activities are transformed into event action rule which in turn translates into
BPEL event handlers. However, this approach only holds for one specific process model type by
applying structural restriction on BPDs. Eventually, the resulting BPEL code is not readable and
thus difficult to modify and maintain. Since, a well structured pattern impose restriction on BPDs,
therefore, Ouyang et al.[12] also present another approach that not only maps block structure in
BPMN model but also accounts for quasi structure and flow based acyclic fragment into block
structure BPEL. Quasi structure patterns are those patterns which can exhibit well structuredness

Holec H (1981: P.3) states that independent learning is the ability to take charge of one s learning.

activities. He says two important elements which are vital for the success of learning
independently. He argues that motivation and being confident are key elements to take decisions

It is study time, time for independent learning, Kent (P.1). Students actively seek to identify what
is important relating to their studies. Usage of time effectively and know where resources are.
Students understand how they progress best, Southampton (2013). That requires self management
most of the time students find themselves working alone without a tutor in the room to guide or
help. You will be expected to organise your own study space and time. A great deal of
responsibility lies on students for their own success. This can feel as though study lacks structure.
However, it can be also be very liberating, Stella Cottrell (Chapter 4).
This requires action research which is associated with a series of planning actions by the
researcher(s) and research participants. The main elements of the research process at this stage of
the research include the gathering of data, feedback on results, and cooperative action planning,
Jonathan T and Ewan I, 2014. Researching includes exploiting resources which are available by the
university such as library books, library multimedia resources and internet to search for journals
and website to help with essays, Manchester (2007).
Tutors play a vital role in this process to promote independent learning and motivate students. This
is done by encouraging students to by teaching them the skills to independent learning. Example

Is it possible for words on a page to become a painting in the mind? After plunging into Adrienne
Rich s Diving into the Wreck, it is apparent that words on a page can come to life in the mind of
the readers. Rich uses a vast amount of describing words, and a setting of a scuba diver to allow
readers the ability to acknowledge and understand the difficulties life may imply upon humankind.
Throughout the next few paragraphs, it is evident that certain elements of poems can become a
large factor in allowing the reader to get more out of a poem, rather than just words on a page. In
summary, Adrienne Rich gives the reader a depiction of a person dealing with one or even many
difficult intricacies in life through the symbolization of scuba divingin a large body of water (Mays,

diver getting ready for an intense journey through a large, dark body of water. Scuba diving into a

January 1955, Albert Ellis first started to do Rational Emotive Behaviour Therapy (REBT). REBT
was the first of the cognitive behaviour therapies and since then the field of therapy has since
changed enormously as a result of Ellis s cognitive behaviour theory (Shaughnessy Mahan, 2001).
As one of the first cognitive theories, this paper will look at the overview of the approach, which
includes the concepts, principles, and practices. The REBT s therapeutic goals, process and the
theory s applications. What advantages and limitations this theory has and what ethical issues it
may bring with todays society. What new theoretical or research developments that is now

Cognitive techniques: Rational analysis; analyses specific episodes to teach the client how to
uncover and dispute irrational beliefs this is usually done in the first session until the client
understands and then this can continue as homework. Double standard dispute; If the client is self
downing about their behaviour, ask if they would let your friend think that about themselves, when
they say no help them understand they are then holding a double standard onto themselves.
Catastrophe scale; this is a useful technique, this is where the therapist asks the client to rate
where their problems are at, you get a piece of paper and draw a line from top to bottom, mark
100% at the top and 0% down the bottom, and put 10% in between at intervals. Devil s advocate
also known as reverse role playing; This is when the therapist gets the client to argue against their
own dysfunctional beliefs where the client tries to convince the therapist that the belief is
dysfunctional, in which getting the client to realise that their dysfunctional belief is irrational.
Reframing; reframing is re evaluating the bad event into perspective with them being disappointing
, concerning , uncomfortable , rather then awful or unbearable . Another way of reframing is
helping the client see that most of the time there is always a positive out of a negative situation

47. A Mormon Perspective
Reflecting on a Mormon Perspective
W7 A2
Based upon the information gathered from Robert Millet about the Mormon perspectives on their
religion. The Mormons renounced a distant, unknowable god of the Neoplatonists God of
philosophers and worshiping a God, who possesses every divine attribute.(251 Metzger) Some of
the Mormons views of God is similar in nature to the Christianity God. Joseph Smith, who is the
founder of the Mormons, do realize God is an omniscient, omnipresent and omnipotent God. He
also knows God is a Holy God, who desire to reveal himself to his people. Muck points out;
Mormons believe in the Jesus Christ of the New Testament. They believe salvation is in Christ and

Joseph Smith and his followers have sought to reclaim humanity s divine birthright and to
reacquaint and re link the human family. (252) So, the Mormons concurs with Matthew 24:24,
For false Christ and false prophets will arise and will show great signs and wonders, so as to
mislead, if possible, even the elect. The Mormons understand that there are false gods the reason
true Fatherhood was specified. God warns his people about false gods giving false information
to deter the people of God. God loves family, and Satan knows and tries hard to divide the family.
Because Satan knows a house can not stand if it is divided. Whether the family is biological or
of the body of Christ. The Bible says in Mark 3:25, And if a house is divided against itself, that
house will not be able to stand. No religion or family can stand together in unity if the religion or

48. Specifi Servant-Leadership Theory Of Military Leadership
Because USAA was founded and is managed by high ranking officers in the military, the ingrained
military leadership philosophy, which is the rational investigation of the truths and principles of
being, knowledge or conduct, is the type of foundation which guides the organizational culture and
environment of the company (Colonel Maureen K. Leboeuf, US Army, n.d.). With that being
noted, the principles of the hiring practice at USAA designates that one in four applicants selected
should at least be a veteran. Generally speaking, who would be better to serve military individuals
in the company than an individual who truly understands the needs of the military family?
According to the Government Information Library and A Best Practices Report; The employees at
USAA work in a campus like environment situated on 286 acres of rolling land, which provides a
sense of space and tranquility. Employees are provided with parking, fitness and recreation
facilities, and many other employee benefits that enhance their cultural climate (1997). Because this
set up is quite common for a call center environment, the leadership styles chosen tends to be the

Looking at the transactional leadership approach, which is management by exception and is
common in military operations, The transactional leadership style upholds this mission through
leaders who create dynamic relationships with subordinates (Clintron, J., n.d.). USAA combines the
best of all three as the foundation of its organizational culture. There are many departments within
the organization and through our research it is noted that even though innovation is highly
cultivated, positive leadership development is essential, and core values are deep rooted, shared

would get payed 22.50 dollors for the same work. `A lawyer named Motoyuki Negoro pointed
out how the japanese had unequal wages in many series of articles he wrote for a Japanese

rightfully be called a labor union on the plantations. The Association initiated a polite request to the

51. Punishment In The Middle Ages Essay
The fall of the Roman Empire marked the Middle Ages from 500ce to 1500ce which brought with it
new ideas and systems. As medieval society developed, changes and consistencies occurred in law
and order. In particular, continuity and change occurred in punishments, trial procedures, and court
systems.
Punishments in the Middle Ages were harsh and horrific, with change occurring as heads of state
and laws changed. In the Middle Ages, punishments were used as a deterrent to gain peasants
obedience. Types of punishments included torture, mutilation, and public humiliation. When the
Normans invaded England in the 11th century, (Norman Conquest of England, 2017) many changes
were made to punishments. William the Conqueror used the death penalty ... Show more content on

In the Early Middle Ages, only Trial by Ordeal was used. This trial was based on the belief that
God would save the Innocent and punish the guilty and had horrific methods, such as placing an
arm in boiling water or holding an iron bar. (Tol Zagora 2014, p. 63) With the Norman Conquest
in 1066, William the Conqueror introduced trial by combat (Rickards, 2012). Trial by combat was
used for the nobles, where the accused would fight the accuser. William the Conqueror believed that
God would protect the Innocent when the parties fought. The guilty would ve then be punished
severely (Easton Saldais 2011, pp. 330, 331). With the creation of the Magna Carta in 1215
(Trueman, 2016) there were many changes to the Trial Procedures. The Magna Carta abolished
Trial by Ordeal and replaced it with Trial by Jury, which involved a jury hearing a case and
deciding the guilt or innocence of the accused. Many people didn t trust trial by jury, which led to
a law being created in 1275 stating that if a criminal didn t choose trial by jury then they were
tortured (Addison, et al. 2011). Therefore, evidence shows changes in power and laws transformed

52. Similarities Between Medea And Antigone
Medea and Antigone are very determined people who will get what they want no matter what. In
the play, Antigone defies the king and buries her brother at night. She says You may do what you
like since apparently the law of gods mean nothing to you to Ismene which clearly states that she
is doing it for spiritual reasons. For if she does not, Polyneices will not be accepted into heaven.
Medeaallows her sons to be killed and purposely kills Creon s daughter to spite her husband. She is
driven by her desire for revenge and her heart has been poisoned by the betrayal from Jason. Love
and infatuation also plays a big role in both stories. Antigone s love for her brother caused her to
bury him whereas Medea killed people because of her infatuation... Show more content on

Antigone was more level headed than her. They both chose moral law over civil law which
meant they took matters into their own hands and thought what they were doing was righteous.
That lead to their downfall. The consequence of burying Polyneices was Antigone hanging
herself which lead to the self destruction of Haemus, Antigone s fiance, and Eurydice, Creon s
wife. Medea s behavior was groundless; as a result, her brother was killed as were her sons
along with Glauce, Jason s new lover. Innocent people died because of the main character s
foolish decisions. Today that still happens, blameless people die because of someone s
thoughtless intentions. Terrorists murder hundreds of individuals who least likely deserve it;
Naive, little kids get caught in a massacre such as the one that happened in Sandy Hook
Elementary School in which 27 people died. In Euripides s play, Medea wasn t punished at all;
but, in Sophocles s play, Antigone commits suicide. Medea was a sadistic person who deserved
to be punished and the punishment would have been justified but in the end, she got to have her
happily ever after. Situations like that have happened in this decade before and will continue to
happen. Innocent people get killed and the bad ones get to live a merry life. Many factors
determine what happens to an individual: social class, wealth, and power. All three can influence
a corrupt person. If someone was rich or very powerful, they d live and be used for ransom or
befriended so the corrupt person could manipulate them;however, a poor person would be killed
quicker than the rich person because they would be of no

As early as 1000 B.C., we can see an early sign of options. According to the Fundamentals of
Corporate Finance, Thales the Philosopher knew from the stars that there would be a great olive

presses. When the harvest arrived he was able to rent the presses at a substantial profit. Thales
speculation on the harvest allowed for him to purchase rights to the presses. He could then exercise

Options are traded on several different exchanges. The first of these is the Chicago Board Options

together two different types of transactions in one process. These two types are: The creation of an
option by writer and purchaser, and the secondary market where the investor has the opportunity to
sell his position by canceling transactions through the exchange. The Buyer and seller are not the
only entities in options trading. The Options Clearing Corporation is an intermediary between
writer and purchaser as well as serves as an accounting office between them. The Options Clearing

Intlligence In society, people base their life on intelligence. They do everything possible to get
ahead in life. To get ahead, they cheat each other, back stab, and commit many sinful acts. Also,
they educate themselves so they are capable of doing whatever is required of them. Society is
trying to always make themselves smarter. Are they trying to change something that they have no
control over though? Intelligence is something that everybody has, but is something that is
developed over time. The development of intelligence has many items that play a factor. For
instance, environment and heredity both play a role in developing a person s I.Q. Each of us are

For instance, a child that comes from an environment that is uncaring, unlovable, and abusive
tends to score lower on an I.Q. test. Put that same child into a different situation, by either
adoption or foster care, or just a change of parental support, and that child performance increases.
I.Q. could be based on a range of environments, or lowered by lack of positive environmental
feedback (Loehlin, Lindzey, and Spuhler 103). Without positive feedback a child gives up. He
gives up because he feels like he is a failure at what he is doing. While the main focus on a child s
intelligence comes from the home, other influences also play a role. Pinter stated By environmental
influences we way mean very specific and narrow changes or else those factors of home and school
(94). At school, children learn reading, writing, and arithmetic. In addition to classes, school offers
a good place to fellowship with others. During the fellowship, one is able to gain knowledge from
other people. That fellowship though isn t always a good thing. For example, suppose that
everything the child hears throughout the day is not true. Then, that child becomes ignorant to the
truth. All this happens because the child is bombarded with false information throughout the day.
At some time the child will start believing that everything he hears is true. With children balancing

In the year of 1827 the Cherokee Indians declared themselves a nation by drafting a constitution.
The discovery of gold was made just after the creation and passage of the original Cherokee
Constitution ( A Brief History of the Trail of Tears 1 ). Aware that the native Indian land was in
danger of being encroached upon by new settlers, the Indians went to the government to create an
arrangement to protect their lands. The Cherokees signed treaties ceding portions of their land to
the United States(Bjornlund 8). From the year of 1780 to the year of 1820 the Cherokeepeople

The government had made multiple attempts to enforce treaties, but the white settlers would not
abide by the treaties. Due to the inability to make the settlers and the Indians coexist, the
government set aside land in the western region. It was only made worse when, In 1829 gold
was found on Cherokee land in the northwestern part of Georgia, near what is today Dahlonega.
Rumors of gold spread quickly, and white settlers rushed into Cherokee lands to make their
claims (Bjornlund 38). It had been strongly encouraged for the Cherokees to move to the west
since 1810, but with the spur of the gold rush in 1829, the Indian Removal Act was passed in
1830. Georgia was the main state for gold, and they were also one of the most aggressive in
removing the Indians from their state (Bjornlund 38). In 1828 the government took away all of
the rights for the Cherokee people, because they had no rights they could not keep their lands
because they could not testify in court to defend themselves or their claims. Recognizing that they
would get no help from the states, John Ross and a group of Cherokee representatives traveled to
Washington D.C., to ask for help from Congress (Bjornlund 39). The Cherokees were requested
that the United States Government honor the past treaties to enforce Cherokee land boundaries.
