2. Process
These are the steps I have to use for this whole
process. Firstly you need to use the Lasso Tool and
got round the part you want to use, then right click
and these options should come up ‘Layer Via Copy’ is
the option you need to select which will then make a
copy of what you had copied so that you can mess
around with it and make it how you like.
This is the first process of how to Rotoscope
3. Process
The next step is to double click on the
copy of the layer and then this page
comes up, you need to select ‘Colour
Overlay’ this is the step that helps to
bring everything together and turn
everything to one colour making it look
cartoon.
The 2 steps are easy to follow and make
your work look creative and effective.
4. Process
The tools used in this process was the lasso tool, I used this to outline the bit I wanted
to rotoscope, then it cuts out the shape, I used the techniques from the previous
slides with copying the layer and the putting a colour overlay over top to give the
cartoon appearance. This was the hardest part of the photo as there is loads of
different parts and colours so I wanted to make sure I got all the details, I think I
achieved this well and I was happy with the final outcome this day.
5. Process
This is the same process as before with using the lasso tool and doing the
same techniques in the settings. I got all of the hard parts of the photo done
first so that I was left with just the face details. I think that this looks good so
far and is looking how I want it to look.
6. Process
Again this is the same process with the previous slides
however this is the final product, I added some final details to
the face and eyes to make it look realistic but cartoon at the
same time.
I am very happy with the overall product, it fits well with my
theme and and it looks how I wanted it, it took time to make
but it was worth it as it looks effective and complex.
7. Process
This is the first process of my double page spread. I used InDesign to make this which was
software I have not used before so I found it harder to use and get use to. I just used the
text tool to create the title of the page, I changed the font on here with the fonts that are
provided for you. I added pictures which I got off the internet, I used these because it helps
to add colour and keep the theme.
I think so far that the double page spread is good and looks effective and is nicely laid out.
8. Process
I used the same tools on this process as the other and just used the text tool to
create the different sections of my articles. The text boxes help as I’m able to get
the same size articles which makes it look effective and realistic.
I really like the layout of my magazine I think it fits with the look of my whole
magazine. I like the size of my different articles as it isn’t overwhelming and won’t
put people off reading it.
9. Process
This is the final process and my final product.
For the last touches on my double page spread I added the rotoscoped photo as this
photo fits with my magazine article and helps to bring colour to the magazine. I think the
overall thing is simple but the detail and pictures used make it look effective. I added a
quote as I think this grabs people’s attention.
I like my overall product as it is a teen lifestyle magazine so I think the topic I have spoken
about is relatable to them and it is something that will appeal to them.
10. Process
This is another rotoscope process, this is the photo I am going to use for my magazine
cover. This photo fits with my overall colour scheme and fits nicely with the theme. This is
half way through, I did the exact same thing as before using the same techniques.
I like the process so far I think it will match well with the rest and grab peoples attention.
11. Process
This is the finished rotoscope. I made a few changes with the photo, one of them being
the colour of the background. The original photo has a flowery background however I
decided to change that as it was going to be to hard for me to do and take much more
time so I changed to just a block colour. I like how it turned out. I tried to add as much
detail as possible to make it effective and realistic.
12. Process
This is the first process of my front cover. I made this on InDesign I had practice on this
software from making my double page spread so making this was easier. I did not like
the layout of this. I liked the different features and details I added to make it look like a
front cover however I don’t think this looks effective. There was too much white and
nothing that would grab any attention.
13. Process
I added more detail onto this process and I like it, I started with moving the top
headings up to the top of the page to give the top of the page less white and fill it up
more. I then made the photo bigger making it cover more of the page. I think that
these 2 things changed the cover a lot and made it look better. I added the date and
issue number which makes it look more realistic and effective. Headings were put at
the bottom which again adds detail and makes it look realistic. I really like the overall
product, I think it will appeal to my target audience.
14. Process
When I was looking through the teen breathe
magazine, they had different tips throughout so I
decided I was going to make something else as
well and the cover and double page spread.
I made a self care wheel, it is a wheel of things
you should make sure you do regularly. I think
that with my magazine being relatable to
teenagers that this idea will be good as they can
see the different things they should be doing.
This screenshot is of the different images I
included on my wheel, these pictures are cartoon
photos to continue with the theme but also add
some fun onto the wheel.
15. Process
This is the final product, I think the
overall product is cute and fits well with
the theme of the magazine.
I used the pastel colour theme and the
cartoon look as I want it to fit in with
the rest of my magazine.
I made this on InDesign and just added
the photos and text.
If I had more time for my magazine, I
would’ve made a cover page with
different photos however the theme I
chose takes time so I did something
quick and easy.
This is relatable to the audience as they
can use this and see what different
things they can start doing in their lives
to care for themselves more.
