Toni Lumbada sThe Lesson, By Toni Bambara
In Toni Bambara s piece The Lesson , we are given a sort of personal memoir of an experience she had
with a childhood teacher in F.A.O Schwarz. Miss Moore, a college degree holding neighbor that
educated children she lived near took a group of students to one of the biggest toy stores in New York.
On the way to this toy store, Miss Moore was speaking a lot about money and what it truly is, how it
adds up, etc. Upon entrance, Bambara writes about feeling unsettled about trying to go in the door.
She writes further about her experiences and starts to sort of suggest her uneasiness and even anger
about the cost of the toys she saw. She continues to list all of the different things that a $35 dancing
clown could do for her family and starts to hint towards the idea of inequality between classes.
Bambara mentions how Miss Moore talks about who you are is where you are and waits for somebody
to say that poor people have to wake up and demand their share of the pie (78). Looking back now,
Bambara probably sees exactly that Miss Moore was saying it isn t fair that people can spend all their
money on flashy toys when people are struggling for food although at the time she admits they had no
idea what she was talking about. At the end of their little tour of F.A.O Schwarz, Bambara s friend
mentions how she didn t think the cost of a toy boy could be the equivalent of what their group ate in a
year, and Miss Moore keeps pushing them to continue their thought process. Bambara quotes Miss
Moore to say Imagine for minute what kind of society it is in which some people can spend on a toy
what it would cost to feed a family of six or seven (79). As Sugar continues answering Miss Moore s
question on how it isn t much of a democracy, Bambara grows increasingly upset at the willing
participation of her friend. I believe this could suggest that given Miss Moore s education and possible
difference between herself and the other children, Bambara and her friends resented the life Miss
Moore seemed to have. The story may seem to some people to be a coming up story but it isn t that at
all. Although at the end of the piece, Bambara writes But ain t nobody gonna beat me at nuthin (79)
which can possibly allude the idea that

Compare and contrast Chinese classical dance and European Classical ballet.
Introduction:
The main topic of my research paper is comparing and contrasting the difference between Chinese
Classical dance and European Classical ballet. The questions I will develop in the paper included as

The first one is the difference of movement between Chinese classical dance and European Classical
ballet.
The second one is the difference of performance between Chinese classical dance and European
Classical ballet.
The third one is the difference of tools they use on the stage.
The method I used is comparing and contrasting , reading article and doing research

For centuries classical Chinese dance was passed down mostly among the common people. After
1919, however, dedicated artists believed that they had a responsibility to systematically document
Chinese dance that was the beginning of the formal teaching of classical Chinese dance. To develop
and rejuvenate folk dance, the artists learned from dance elements of folk operas, and incorporated
techniques in ballet training and Chinese martial art forms, creating a unique system of classical
Chinese dance. For the history of Russian Classical ballet, it originated in a group of dance academies
in Moscow and St Petersburg in the eighteenth century. At first the dancers were from poor
backgrounds usually from orphanages but the Tsars were particular ballet enthusiasts and so the
profile grew. However, in the nineteenth century some of the best French and Italian dancers and
teachers went to Russia and ballet developed considerably more than in Western Europe where opera
was preferred. It was under this climate that Russian ballet led the way in classical dance with such
famous stars as Anna Pavlova, Mikhail Foskine and the legendary Nijinsky, who all trained with the
Frenchman Marius Petipa at the St Petersburg Imperial Ballet.

There was no wind and no clouds that morning, just still air and cold sunshine. The hair in my nostrils
froze almost immediately. When I took a deep breath, my lungs only filled up halfway.
I opened the tailgate to excited whines and whimpers. I never go skiing without Jackson and Hailey:
my two best friends, my yin and yang of dogs. Some of you might know Jackson. He s the oversized
sheepdog and something else with the great big nose and the bark that will shatter glass. He gets out

name. He s all grace, and he s tireless; he won t go skiing with me unless I let him lead. Hailey is not
so graceful, and her body seems in constant indecision when she runs. When we ski she stays behind
me, and on the downhills she tries to sneak rides on my skis.
The dogs ran circles in the chest high snow while I inventoried my backpack one more time to make

The Importance Of The Great Barrier Reef
Some people consider coral reefs the most beautiful places on earth. With the plants and animals
progressing all around the beautiful corals, it is spectacular. Located on the northeast coast of
Australia, there lies a place just like this. This is the Great Barrier Reef. These coral reefs are called,
the rainforest of the ocean, because it supports a huge diversity of life. Coral reefs are more than just
beauty, they are a home to fish and other creatures. They protect humans against floods and storms.
The reef not only contains an abundance of marine life, but it is also the world s largest coral reef
system. It is so gigantic, astronauts could see it all the way from outer space. This paper offers an
extensive amount of information about the Great Barrier Reef, including how it was formed, the
animals that call it home, and how it is dying.
In the Coral Sea of Queensland, Australia, the Great Barrier Reef covers the shore. It begins at the tip
of Cape York Peninsula in the north and continues down to Bundaberg in the south. It is called The
Great Barrier Reef because it creates a border between the coast and the Pacific Ocean. Having an
area of about 344,400 km, it is monumental. The reef, stretching between 15 to 150 kilometers from
the shore, is filled with brilliant, vivid fish and corals. The Great Barrier Reef was Kaiser 2 discovered
in 1770 by a man named James Cook after his ship scraped against the bottom of the reef. It was stuck

Tragedy And The Modern Man By Arthur Miller Essay
In the reading Tragedy and the Modern Man written by author Arthur Miller, it states, I believe that
the common man is as apt a subject for tragedy in its highest sense as kings were. Arthur Miller
describes what the true meaning of a tragic hero is throughout his reading. This quote that Miller
includes shows us that any human being can suffer a tragedy as because we are a human being. To
suffer through a tragedy, no matter how big or small, is what makes you truly a hero and successful.
No matter what your social class may be, whether you are a common man or a king, when exposed to
any circumstances, one can suffer a tragedy. Miller believes that facing a tragedy is pro rather than a
con. Although, to suffer through the pain may be difficult for some, the experience and knowledge of
how to overcome the situation in the future is more powerful than avoiding the pain.
...the tale always reveals what has been called his tragic flaw, a failing that is not peculiar to grand or
elevated characters. Nor is it necessarily a weakness. Miller mentions this in his reading as he explains
that to have a flaw is not always something bad, but something good and something you should
accept, rather than believing you are someone you truly are not. A great example of this comes from
the novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Throughout this novel, the main character, Okonkwo,
is known to be the complete opposite of his father just because he was not successful like the rest of

Nature Vs Nurture In Child Development
One of the oldest arguments in the history of psychology is the Nature vs Nurture debate. This said
debate is important in whether the child s development is based only in genetics or environmental
impacts. The definition of nurture refers to all the environmental variables that impact who we are.
Throughout the child s development, it is seen that the genetic influence over abstract traits of the
child may exist; but, the environmental factors are the real origins of our behavior. This shows that the
use of conditioning in the aspects of physical, social, and moral is crucial to the child s development
as it is the product of maturation. In the physical aspect, it shows that the deprivation of the mother
while inside her womb will develop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It believes that babies are born with a blank state and that is gradually filled by experiences through
the help of their parents and society. Without physical contact of someone with knowledge of
language, the child may suffer from language deficiency. This is also proven by B.F. Skinner, stating
that children learn words by associating sounds with objects, or by simply imitating others. This is
also the case of Oxana Malaya, the girl that was abandoned by her parents and was raised by dogs. For
eight years, she didn t obtain language through people, thus, she was constantly barking and walking
with her hands. Nurture is also evident in social development through Vgotsky s Social Development
Theory. He stated that the cultural development of the child appears twice: first, on the social level,
and later, on the individual level. He places more emphasis on social contributions and interactions
from the parents and society. Environmental factors also influence the moral development through
Kohlberg s Stages of Moral Development. He found out that the children that are faced with different
problems, and their decisions on whether they are to act positively or negatively over each dilemma
are heavily influenced by environmental aspects. His stages include shaping child behaviors through
authority figure s advice, gain approval of others, and lastly,

Essay on Censoring Internet Pornography
Introduction
Pornography engages people on many levels. Some people enjoy pornography while others believe
that the world would be best without it. Some would think that a song like It s Nice to be Nude is a
cute song that is celebrating the joys of the human body. Others may think that it is obscene and not
worth listening to.
Pornography is highly subjective in respect to what it is, how it is defined, and its merits. The intent of
this paper is to discuss pornography in a historical context and how it affects librarians in regards to its
presence on the Internet.
Definitions: Getting to Know All About It

From drawings on cave walls7 to HBOs Sex and the City the depiction of sex appears to be one of the
threads that ties the centuries together. Montgomery Hyde, while exploring the roots of Western
pornography, found that even in the Bible there is an abundance of material in the Old Testament on
the subject of pornography in its original sense of writing about prostitutes and their patrons, as there
are also references which are certainly obscene if not pornographic in the wider sense as it is generally
understood today. 8
In early Greece, representations of men and women enjoying various forms of sexual intercourse were
even depicted on the bottoms of children s drinking bowls and plates, so that they could have
something amusing to look at when they were having their meals. 9 About the time of the birth of
Christ, Ovid wrote for a Roman audience Ars Amorato ? a work if not pornographic in the strictest
sense, at least highly erotic. 10
The pornographic tradition continued in Western culture with works such as the Decameron, The
Canterbury Tales in England, and the Heptameron in France. 11 Fascination with the bawdy is also the
basis for many a literary classic. Much of Shakespeare s writing, for example, is of uninhibited
ribaldries and obscenities. 12 The depiction of the naked, sexual human form is also found throughout
the art world.13 Indeed, walk into virtually any museum, art

Refutation of this stupid, lowbrow notion would be better done in an article in a publication but I am
seeing it promoted more and more and as I am very interested in combating error, particularly among
nationalists, I ll take a crack at briefly addressing it.
The nuts and bolts of this is that we have this half caste Austrian nobleman (his mother was Japanese)
who made some remarks almost a century ago about how the man of the future would be mixed race.
He is also in some sense considered the father of the EU due to his pan European political
organization. From this it is asserted that he planned the genocide of the white race and that European
elites are implementing this plan now almost a century later.
One version of the plan fingers the usual Jewish bogeyman even though Coudenhove Kalergi wasn t
Jewish. More generally we are expected to believe people like Angela Merkel are consciously
following this plan . The problem is there s no evidence they are. ... Show more content on

Stereotype A Thought By Beverly Daniel Tatum
Stereotype a Thought Today, many believe that stereotypes have been eradicated throughout our
modern world, this is far from the truth. Beverly Daniel Tatum, an author of several books including
Why Are Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria asks, How did academic achievement become
defined as exclusively white behavior? Tatum has an interesting point, however stereotyping is not
just about race it can be about gender bias, or body issues too. Ann DuCille, author of From
Multicultural Barbie and the Merchandising of Difference says; Barbie s body is a consumer object
itself a vehicle for display of clothing and spectacular trappings of a wealthy teenage fantasy life .
Ducille gives a good example of body politics, and the importance of not only focusing on race. Thus,
is a good example of how stereotypes are learned by how one is treated in school or at home.
Education about racial identity, gender equality, and body shaming, to an extent, will help eliminate
some forms of stereotyping and create a more understanding and equal society. Therefore schools are
not the problem, stereotypes, however racist, sexist, or just plain mean, are learned at home and in
schools from peers, parents and teachers alike. In a way, stereotypes will never truly be eliminated
from our world because from the day we are born we notice differences. One may argue that it is just a
distinction between people, which constitutes stereotyping. Just

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends a weekly minimum of 150 minutes of
moderate intensity aerobic activity, such as brisk walking, for adults. An alternative is 75 minutes of
vigorous aerobic activity such as jogging or running. A treadmill enables you to perform either of
these activities, within the comfort of your own home or the gym.

LOSE WEIGHT
Walking is a low intensity exercise that almost anybody can do. Running is a more intense type of
activity that burns more calories than most other exercises. Both are beneficial to people at different
fitness levels. If you use your treadmill regularly, you can begin to see reductions in body weight. By
keeping your weight in a normal range, you can feel more confident about yourself.
CHOOSE APPROPRIATE LEVEL OF INTENSITY
If you are just starting out, consult your doctor before beginning any exercise program. With a
treadmill, you can alter the intensity of your workout by adjusting incline levels and speed. You can
also benefit from interval training, wherein you can alternate between high and low speeds throughout
the duration of your workout. Interval training is a great way to maximize your workout without
overexerting yourself.

The Term, Image Of God
Introduction: The term image of God occurs three times in the Bible. In Genesis 1:26 27 and 9:6, we
find out that man is created in the image of God. In 2 Cor. 4:4 we see the phrase used in reference to
Jesus who is the image of God. There is no exact understanding of what the phrase means, but we can
generalize. It would seem that the first two verses refer to God s character and attributes that are
reflected in people. The term cannot be a reference to a physical appearance of God since Jesus says in
John 4:24 that God is Spirit, and in Luke 24:39 Spirit does not have flesh and bones. Therefore, we
can conclude that the image of God deals with humanity s reflection of God in such things as
compassion, rationality, love, hatred, fellowship, etc. God exhibits all of these characteristics, as do
people. Example 1: A good starting point is to respect others because God said to. For example, we
read in the Bible that husbands and wives are to respect their spouse and the wife must respect her
husband Ephesians 5:33. Husbands, in the same way are considerate as you live with your wives, and
treat them with respect 1 Peter 3:7. The same principle applies to other relationships. Peter wrote that
we should show respect to everyone. You can respect your spouse, child, parent, boss or others
because of their position. Acknowledge that others have weaknesses. Everyone is imperfect. Be
careful not to let their failures erode your respect for their good qualities. Look for things

LORAN is a pulsed hyperbolic system. Which means that hyperbolic lines of position are determined

The secondary station maintains a fixed time difference between its reception of the primary signal

Provider Reimbursement Essay
The concept of provider reimbursement is to make sure payments are being made for the services
rendered that are process by the insurance companies or by the third party to a beneficiary,
Reimbursement happens when an approved healthcare physician or facility offers medical care to an
insured party, this can help the patient because they won t have to pay up front for the services instead
a claim will be submitted to the patients insurance plan. The healthcare provider is going to verify the
insurance to make sure the patient is cover for the procedures that way the insurance company can
reimbursed directly, but in some cases if the patient insurance don t cover the procedure the patient
can make payment arrangements. The reason why reimbursement is necessary is because the provider
of facility must recoup all or some parts of the medical charges. The different methods of financing for
healthcare are for For Profit, Not For Profit and Public health. For Profit is an organization that is
made to make money and they are expected to bring more revenue than needed. Not For Profit is an
organization made to reinvest excess revenue into the organization not like For Profit they have to
reinvest the money back to the facility when For Profit may pay out profits to investors, and the other
financial method is public health care facilities this organization is established by the government
operated by a local, state, or federal government, they are supported by tax dollars, and

Ancient Wonders
Ancient Wonders Have you ever wondered about the Wonders of the Ancient World? How they
became Wonders? Who built them and where are they now? Although most have come and gone with,
either through battles or nature, they still amaze many scholars. The Statue of Zeus, the Colossus of
Rhodes, the Light House of Alexandria, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon have kept the minds of
many filled with imagination and wonder of what the ancient world was like. The Statue of Zeus was
is truly an amazing sculpture and was arguably the most famous statue of its day. This statue was
dedicated to none other than Zeus, considered to be the most important of the Greek gods (Ancient
Origins, 2017). The Statue of Zeus was housed in the Temple of Zeus constructed by the Greek
Architect Libon. While Libon constructed the Temple some else was commissioned to create the
Statue of Zeus, a sculptor named Phidias in 430 B.C. (Jordan, 2014). He was considered to be the
most famous sculptor in ancient Greece. When travelers would come to see this statue they would say,
If a man, with a heavy heart from grief and sorrow in life, will stand in front of the statue, he will
forget all these. and Whereas we just wonder at the other six wonders, we kneel in front of this one in
reverence, because the execution of the skill is as incredible as the image of Zeus is holy...

Insurable Interest Essay
What is Insurable Interest in a Maritime Insurance Policy
The term insurable interest refers to the benefit (or interest) a person has in an insured object (or
person as in a life insurance insurable interest). This benefit can refer to a financial benefit, among
others. A person has insurable interest in a thing when he or she would experience some kind of loss
(financial or otherwise) if the thing were to be damaged or lost.
Say that you have piece of jewelry in your home that is also a family heirloom. If someone were to
steal it (or if you were to drop it down the sink, or in the toilet, or even lose it in the garbage) you
would suffer different kinds of loss, both financial and emotional. Thus, you have an insurable interest

There is no requirement of insurable interest when the contract is made. This section also allows the
subject matter of a marine policy to be insured lost or not lost . This means that it is possible for the
insured to recover under a marine policy even if he acquired his interest after the loss has occurred,
unless he was aware of the loss and the insurer was not. These rules reflect the practices of marine
trade where cargo frequently changes ownership in the course of transit. In this case there is a transfer
of rights i.e assignment of interest.
Assignment of Interest may be done by endorsement in blank that is to sign the policy. Alternatively,
this can be also done by signing in favor of one other person. In turn, only that person can then claim
to be the rightful owner. The law permits this unless the policy states otherwise. However, hull
policies prohibit assignment even though the marine act promotes this transfer of rights.
An interesting fact is that companies can have insurable interest in their workers, both in higher ups
and in those lower down the ladder. There has been some controversy about this recently, where
companies took life insurance policies out on their employees without their employees consent. In
these instances, the companies collected the policies on their deceased employees, who sometimes did
not even work for them anymore.
Of course companies have

If Beale Street Could Talk Analysis Essay In the novel, If Beale Street Could Talk, James Baldwin
uses many rhetorical strategies to emphasize the unfair treatment that African Americans faced in
early US history. Through the point of view, imagery, and time elements, the situations of which the
characters find themselves in are more effective. Each device is place and used to allow readers to feel
as if they are going through the difficulties and the happiest moments as another character in the book,
and raises awareness to the trials that they faced. Right from the start, Baldwin catches readers
attention by using a point of view as if the reader is the character. I look at myself in the mirror (3). It
is not Tish looking in the mirror, it is the reader. This makes the reader think of what they see when
they themselves look ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
They also help add depth to the story, giving readers a glimpse of what happened even before the story
had begun. I never really noticed Fonny until once we got into a fight, after school. This fight didn t
really have anything to do with Fonny and me at all (10). This small moment of looking back allows
readers to know that they weren t always friends, but through hard times, found each other and
became friends, which led to them being lovers. Tish and Fonny talking in the jail is not where the
story really starts, it is just a part of it, because the true beginning is where they met, and where their
friendship began. One of the most important memories mentioned is the time when Fonny and Tish
admitted their love for each other. He said, not moving, And you ve always been mine no? I nodded
again... I just know that I love you (75). This let their hearts be open to the readers, and for the readers
to feel joy and excitement for something they knew from the beginning, but just wished to be said

DISMANTLING OF THE SOVIET UNION
DISMANTLING OF THE SOVIET UNION
Introduction
The fall of the once might soviet union was as a result unwarranted succession of events. There is a
likelihood of some arguing that a certain even led to the dismantling but this would be a fallacious
assertion.
Dismantling of the Soviet Union
The Soviet Union was one of the three strongest nations in the world. Between 1964 and 1982, the
Soviet Union competed militarily with the world s best. The Soviet Union and its system appeared
impervious to rudimentary change especially when Politburo was headed by Leonid Brezhenev. It was
almost impossible even for the most disaffected nationalities like Baltic people of Estonia, Lithuania,
and Latvia to think that the Soviet Union could fall leading ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

a declaration nullifying its existence forthwith.

Causes Of The Arab-Israeli Conflict In The Middle East
Introduction
The Arab Israeli conflicts in the Middle East have been an on going issue since the establishment of
Israel in 1948. The primary cause of the fighting between Arab Israeli is the rejection of Israel exists
in the Middle East. The first known outburst of Arab Israeli conflict occurred in 1948. The United
Nations stepped in to ensure peace in the Middle East, but that peace ended in 1967 when Gamal
Abdel Nasser, the Egyptian President, instigated another war, with the intent to annihilate Israel. He
successfully formed an alliance with all Arab countries to include Jordan and Syria, leaving Israel s
military vastly outnumbered. Abdel Nasser blocked off the Straits of Tiran in May 1967, cutting off

force at Golan Heights on June 9th and 10th. Before mobilizing ground units in Golan Heights, IAF
executed a two hour air strike (Dunstan Dennis 2009), Israel conquered Golan Heights in two days
followed by the end of the Six Day War on June 10th, 1967.
The Mission Command Principle Analysis of Yitzhak Rabin during the Six Day War
During these battles, there are clear examples of General Rabin successfully building cohesive teams
through mutual trust. Before the war, Rabin had no other option but to plan a deliberate attack against
Egypt and his allies. He ensured that all his staff was present and contributed to the plan. According to
Dayan, Before fighting began, Israel s General Staff sat down to plan the coming battle. Armed
sentries blocked the entrance to the army headquarters. The noise of radios is incessantly pour out

Relationship Between Music And Music
Introduction
The relationship between Music and Film has evolved immensely since the emergence of sound films
in 1923. In fact, music is one of the most peculiar conventions in cinema. It is not an aspect of film
that is questioned, due to its repeated imprint on viewers every time a movie is seen. Music in film is
not only something we accept, but something we demand. With time, the advancements in technology
has allowed for the creation of more intricate, film scores that have separated themselves as iconic
pieces of culture. Of these, the works of Hans Zimmer, in collaboration with Christopher Nolan, have
made a particularly transformative impact on the film industry. Their partnership has seen the creation
of numerous successes, including The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005, 2008, 2012), Inception (2010) and
Interstellar (2014). Their unique methods of collaboration, and stance on the relationship between film
and music has played a significant role in shaping the conventions of modern film. Thus, this essay
will discuss three of their notable works in detail, and provide an insight into their eccentric
relationship.

In most films in the modern era, the composer and director work separately, with the composer writing
music by referencing early edits of scenes. This method is effective in terms of time management, but
often results in a lack of an authentic score. This is due to the time pressure on composers to produce a
fitting score in a relatively short amount of time compared to the time allocated to editing and
production. While usually the score and the film are completely different entities for at least half of the
production process, Nolan chooses to work closely with his composers, meeting frequently to discuss
the intricacies of the soundscape inside the world of the

I Have A Yong Suster
When analyzing literature, context is important because different interpretations of the same piece can
lead to very different meanings. The poem I Have A Yong Suster is a piece of Middle English poetry
that can have several meanings depending on how it is read. Some say that the poem suggests a sexual
relationship, while others say that it is an exchange between siblings. The narrator in this poem is sent
three gifts that can have different meanings depending on who sent them. One interpretation identifies
the sender as the narrator s sister, and it portrays themes of love and innocence. Another interpretation
claims that the sender is a sweetheart or lover of the narrator, and in this interpretation, the poem
represents courtship. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Another important detail in this interpretation is the choice made by the author to make the sender of
these gifts a young sibling. This could be an intentional decision to strengthen the connection between
these specific gifts and young children. According to the Middle English Dictionary, however, suster
can be translated as spouse or lover . This interpretation gives the poem a sexual twist. The first gift,
the cherry, is representative of a woman s virginity. The second gift, a dove, is typically a symbol of
love. Also, they have been said to carry messages, such as the messages between the narrator and their
lover. Additionally, the briar fits into the theme of nature symbols, and reproduction is a part of nature.
The idea of the gifts being related to children also fits into this interpretation. The narrator notes late in
the poem that Whan the maiden hath that she loveth, / She is withoute longinge (27 28). Longinge can
be interpreted to mean longing, as in wishfulness, but it can also be read as longing, as in a sexual
desire. This could mean that when a girl has the one she loves, her desire for love in a possibly sexual
manner is sated. Reading the poem with the translation of suster as lover gives it a new twist and
changes some of the meanings that can be interpreted from the poem. The meaning of lover carries on
to modern songs such as I Gave My Love A Cherry by Carly Simon in 2007. This song is often

Paul s letter to the Galatians Essay

Galatia took its name from these Galatian inhabitants (Williams, 19). Paul had passed through Galatia
during his ministry and he had preached and established churches there. The letter to the Galatians
was written around C.E. 51 and later tradition will assert without certainty that Paul had written to the
Galatians from Ephesus. Paul s letter to the Galatians is sometimes compared with his letter to the
Romans in the respect that the Galatian letter was written to a church that Paul founded and visited
where his letter to the Romans was written to a church he had never visited. The Galatian letter was
also very hostile where the Roman letter was friendly and joyous (Kee, 5th Ed., 240). Paul had a great
attachment to the Galatians. He makes reference to the first time he preached the gospel in Galatia and
how he had fell ill and the Galatians cared for him. This marked the beginning of a tender, honest and
privileged relationship with them and even in the face of their doubt in his gospel, Paul was still able
to refer to them as quot;my dear children quot; (Jervis, 1). Paul wrote the letter to the Galatians
because, after his departure from the Galatian churches, Jewish Christian fanatics came into Galatia
and corrupted Paul s Gospel of man s free justification by faith in Christ Jesus (Luther, 9). His main
purpose in writing to the Galatians was to re preach quot;the truth of the gospel quot; (Gal. 2:5, 14).

Findley Mentioned The Binoculars
Page 165 Structure The time is written with a period rather than a colon. I found this odd as I had
never seen this before. Ex. 11.55 rather than 11:55. I wonder if this is done intentionally, a change in
punctuation over time, or a stylistic choice. Rhetoric A French word is used in the middle of a
sentence: reveille which means to wake up (Findley 165). Is this done to refer to the setting in France?
Question Robert mentions that he had left his binoculars in his kit bag. I wonder if this is a conscious
decision to keep that part in the text. Immediately, it had reminded me of the German soldier as he too
was seen with the binoculars. Is it a coincidence that Findley mentioned the binoculars among other
things? Page 166 Animals/Question ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I wonder if this is a foreshadow to Robert s death in the future. We know that Robert will die by

Life/Question The big question about whether life is worth preserving is indirectly asked when Devlin
is shot for letting the horses free. Is it better to keep them in the stable where they will later be forced
into war or let them run around free on a battlefield? Quotation/Madness Captain Leather had killed
one of his own men. In a way, this brings up a different concept of killing one of his own men rather
than the enemy. Either way, he murdered another being. I thought about this and wondered what
Captain Leather will be remembered for when he dies. As Euripides had said, Never that which is
shall die, so will Leather be seen as a dutiful captain that was doing his duty, or a traitor for killing one
of his own? I feel this could also be alarge indication of Leather s insanity that has been caused by the
war. He is perhaps so insane that he felt justified in his actions by killing Devlin over the matter of the
horses. Page

East Timor Research Paper
The Future of East Timor East Timor is one of the world s beautiful and vast tropical wildernesses. A
lot of the country s economic activity lies on the premises of the country s landscape. The economic
outlook of the country is centered on its history and potential for development. There are several
emerging industries and future sources of income present in East Timor that are based on the country s
environmental strengths. Tourism is somewhat popular in East Timor. Travel sites and companies have
created new advertising for the Timorese hotels and results. The government has also improved
infrastructure, airports, as well as preserved areas of the natural landscape. The natural beauty of the
island makes it attractive to exotic travelers. East Timor as gone to great lengths to establish their
government, however the people of East Timor are not particularly skilled and the island lacks high

however if the country keeps experiencing rapid population growth, they may have trouble feeding
their people. Cash crops that can be grown in only select places, including East Timor, have a potential
to emerge as major industries, however certain aspects of the landscape make it undesirable for large
and consistent crop growth. The mountainous landscape of East Timor is at risk of landslides, and the
low valleys tend to flood when paired with the tropical weather conditions of Southeast Asian
countries. The country has the ability to sustain itself at the moment, but in the future, East Timor will
need foreign investment, or an increase in tourism to keep a path down the road of

The Conjure Woman By Charley Chesnutt Analysis
Superstitions and Folklore: Bibliography Essay on Superstitions
And Folklore in Charles W. Chesnutt s Stories Charles Waddell Chesnutt is an African American
writer who writes many novels and short stories about African American superstitions and folklore of
the south in The Conjure Woman . The Conjure Woman is a collection of folk tales that explore
complex issues of racial and social identity in the post Civil War. Chesnutt writes these stories in
vernacular forms to represent the oral act of storytelling and express Chesnutt s black identity and
cultural heritage of African American people. Chesnutt s folktales are narrated either to teach the

The Film One Flew Over The Cuckoo s Nest
In the novel and the film One Flew over the Cuckoo s Nest there are a variety of transformations. In
the film the actors are not portrayed, looks wise, as they are in the book. There are many characters
whose appearances aren t how they are described in the book, like Nurse Ratched and Chief Bromden.
There are also many events and incidents that happen in the book that do not happen in the movie. The
movie includes a character or two that was not mentioned in the book and characters are portrayed
differently than how they are in the book. The biggest difference between the film and the book is the
story s point of view. Chief Bromden is the narrator in the novel. He unfolds the story of all the chaos
between Nurse Ratched and Randle McMurphy. In the book Chief is portrayed to be the hero who
endures the most changes in the book. In spite of the fact of him describing the all the horrific events
in the mental hospital, Chief reveals biographical information of his own life before he was
institutionalized. Chief is a paranoid schizophrenic, war veteran, and a half breed Indian. His mother is
a white woman who worked with the U.S. government. She then later, weakened his proud father who
was a very strong Indian man. The movie does have Chief narrating it like in the novel. The movie
also fails to mention the background story of Chief, and lowers his role in the movie to make
McMurphy stand out more. In the film, McMurphy is made out to be the hero. Chief s delusional

Reasons Why Urban And Rural Areas Are Interdependent On...
INTRODUCTION
Currently, most of the world s population is living in urban areas which have implications for land use
and land changes, use of natural resources, and the absorption of rural labour in urban areas. The rural
and urban interdependence means the flow of natural resources, agricultural commodity, money,
information and services between rural and urban areas. Moreover, the rural population is adopting the
urban style and behaviour or is becoming socially urbanized. According to Steinberg (2014) economic
development and natural resource use and as well as livelihoods bind urban and rural areas together.
These indicate that urban and rural areas have a symbiotic relationship, which makes them to depend
on each other. Thus, one area needs the other to function and develop. This essay will outline and
discuss the ways and reasons why urban and rural areas are interdependent on each other.
RURAL AND URBAN INTERACTION Source: Repp et al. (2012).

Definition Essay On Abortion
The dictionary definition of life is, ¨The condition that distinguishes animals and plants from inorganic
matter, including the capacity of growth, reproduction, functional activity, and continual change
preceding death.¨ Life is when something has ¨growth.¨ When a woman conceives making her
pregnant there is automatically growth. Because human life begins at the moment of conception,
getting an abortion is murder.
In Kentucky abortion is only legal until around 20 weeks of pregnancy. After 20 weeks abortion is
only allowed if the mother is in danger. Guttmacher Institute states ¨An abortion may be performed at
20 or more weeks post fertilization only if the womanś life is endangered or if her physical health is

The dictionary definition explains, birth means ¨The emergence of a baby or other young from the
body of itś mother.¨ The explanation is simple because if a person believes life begins at birth the only
reason would be, when a person is born they can now breath, eat, sleep, and develop, and reasonable
because a baby does breath, eat, sleep and develop after birth. Also wrong because not only does the
baby breath, eat, sleep, and develop after birth he/she also does before birth. Development happens
throughout a pregnancy. After fertilization, then implantation(conception), the egg turns to an embryo,
then a fetus, then a baby. Some of the development which happen between the transformations are,
body parts and systems form and start to function, the senses of smell, taste, and sight start to work,
the baby inhales and exhales amniotic fluid helping him/her learn to breath, and he/she starts to sleep.
Life does begin when development, breathing, sleeping, and eating begins, therefore life begins at

  • 2. Toni Lumbada sThe Lesson, By Toni Bambara In Toni Bambara s piece The Lesson , we are given a sort of personal memoir of an experience she had with a childhood teacher in F.A.O Schwarz. Miss Moore, a college degree holding neighbor that educated children she lived near took a group of students to one of the biggest toy stores in New York. On the way to this toy store, Miss Moore was speaking a lot about money and what it truly is, how it adds up, etc. Upon entrance, Bambara writes about feeling unsettled about trying to go in the door. She writes further about her experiences and starts to sort of suggest her uneasiness and even anger about the cost of the toys she saw. She continues to list all of the different things that a $35 dancing clown could do for her family and starts to hint towards the idea of inequality between classes. Bambara mentions how Miss Moore talks about who you are is where you are and waits for somebody to say that poor people have to wake up and demand their share of the pie (78). Looking back now, Bambara probably sees exactly that Miss Moore was saying it isn t fair that people can spend all their money on flashy toys when people are struggling for food although at the time she admits they had no idea what she was talking about. At the end of their little tour of F.A.O Schwarz, Bambara s friend mentions how she didn t think the cost of a toy boy could be the equivalent of what their group ate in a year, and Miss Moore keeps pushing them to continue their thought process. Bambara quotes Miss Moore to say Imagine for minute what kind of society it is in which some people can spend on a toy what it would cost to feed a family of six or seven (79). As Sugar continues answering Miss Moore s question on how it isn t much of a democracy, Bambara grows increasingly upset at the willing participation of her friend. I believe this could suggest that given Miss Moore s education and possible difference between herself and the other children, Bambara and her friends resented the life Miss Moore seemed to have. The story may seem to some people to be a coming up story but it isn t that at all. Although at the end of the piece, Bambara writes But ain t nobody gonna beat me at nuthin (79) which can possibly allude the idea that ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

For centuries classical Chinese dance was passed down mostly among the common people. After 1919, however, dedicated artists believed that they had a responsibility to systematically document Chinese dance that was the beginning of the formal teaching of classical Chinese dance. To develop and rejuvenate folk dance, the artists learned from dance elements of folk operas, and incorporated techniques in ballet training and Chinese martial art forms, creating a unique system of classical Chinese dance. For the history of Russian Classical ballet, it originated in a group of dance academies in Moscow and St Petersburg in the eighteenth century. At first the dancers were from poor backgrounds usually from orphanages but the Tsars were particular ballet enthusiasts and so the profile grew. However, in the nineteenth century some of the best French and Italian dancers and teachers went to Russia and ballet developed considerably more than in Western Europe where opera was preferred. It was under this climate that Russian ballet led the way in classical dance with such famous stars as Anna Pavlova, Mikhail Foskine and the legendary Nijinsky, who all trained with the Frenchman Marius Petipa at the St Petersburg Imperial Ballet. ... • 7. Tragedy And The Modern Man By Arthur Miller Essay In the reading Tragedy and the Modern Man written by author Arthur Miller, it states, I believe that the common man is as apt a subject for tragedy in its highest sense as kings were. Arthur Miller describes what the true meaning of a tragic hero is throughout his reading. This quote that Miller includes shows us that any human being can suffer a tragedy as because we are a human being. To suffer through a tragedy, no matter how big or small, is what makes you truly a hero and successful. No matter what your social class may be, whether you are a common man or a king, when exposed to any circumstances, one can suffer a tragedy. Miller believes that facing a tragedy is pro rather than a con. Although, to suffer through the pain may be difficult for some, the experience and knowledge of how to overcome the situation in the future is more powerful than avoiding the pain. ...the tale always reveals what has been called his tragic flaw, a failing that is not peculiar to grand or elevated characters. Nor is it necessarily a weakness. Miller mentions this in his reading as he explains that to have a flaw is not always something bad, but something good and something you should accept, rather than believing you are someone you truly are not. A great example of this comes from the novel Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe. Throughout this novel, the main character, Okonkwo, is known to be the complete opposite of his father just because he was not successful like the rest of the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 8. Nature Vs Nurture In Child Development One of the oldest arguments in the history of psychology is the Nature vs Nurture debate. This said debate is important in whether the child s development is based only in genetics or environmental impacts. The definition of nurture refers to all the environmental variables that impact who we are. Throughout the child s development, it is seen that the genetic influence over abstract traits of the child may exist; but, the environmental factors are the real origins of our behavior. This shows that the use of conditioning in the aspects of physical, social, and moral is crucial to the child s development as it is the product of maturation. In the physical aspect, it shows that the deprivation of the mother while inside her womb will develop ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It believes that babies are born with a blank state and that is gradually filled by experiences through the help of their parents and society. Without physical contact of someone with knowledge of language, the child may suffer from language deficiency. This is also proven by B.F. Skinner, stating that children learn words by associating sounds with objects, or by simply imitating others. This is also the case of Oxana Malaya, the girl that was abandoned by her parents and was raised by dogs. For eight years, she didn t obtain language through people, thus, she was constantly barking and walking with her hands. Nurture is also evident in social development through Vgotsky s Social Development Theory. He stated that the cultural development of the child appears twice: first, on the social level, and later, on the individual level. He places more emphasis on social contributions and interactions from the parents and society. Environmental factors also influence the moral development through Kohlberg s Stages of Moral Development. He found out that the children that are faced with different problems, and their decisions on whether they are to act positively or negatively over each dilemma are heavily influenced by environmental aspects. His stages include shaping child behaviors through authority figure s advice, gain approval of others, and lastly, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 11. Essay on Censoring Internet Pornography Introduction Pornography engages people on many levels. Some people enjoy pornography while others believe that the world would be best without it. Some would think that a song like It s Nice to be Nude is a cute song that is celebrating the joys of the human body. Others may think that it is obscene and not worth listening to. Pornography is highly subjective in respect to what it is, how it is defined, and its merits. The intent of this paper is to discuss pornography in a historical context and how it affects librarians in regards to its presence on the Internet. From drawings on cave walls7 to HBOs Sex and the City the depiction of sex appears to be one of the threads that ties the centuries together. Montgomery Hyde, while exploring the roots of Western pornography, found that even in the Bible there is an abundance of material in the Old Testament on the subject of pornography in its original sense of writing about prostitutes and their patrons, as there are also references which are certainly obscene if not pornographic in the wider sense as it is generally understood today. 8 In early Greece, representations of men and women enjoying various forms of sexual intercourse were even depicted on the bottoms of children s drinking bowls and plates, so that they could have something amusing to look at when they were having their meals. 9 About the time of the birth of Christ, Ovid wrote for a Roman audience Ars Amorato ? a work if not pornographic in the strictest sense, at least highly erotic. 10 The pornographic tradition continued in Western culture with works such as the Decameron, The Canterbury Tales in England, and the Heptameron in France. 11 Fascination with the bawdy is also the basis for many a literary classic. Much of Shakespeare s writing, for example, is of uninhibited ribaldries and obscenities. 12 The depiction of the naked, sexual human form is also found throughout the art world.13 Indeed, walk into virtually any museum, art ... The Fallacialist Lothrop Stoddard Refutation of this stupid, lowbrow notion would be better done in an article in a publication but I am seeing it promoted more and more and as I am very interested in combating error, particularly among nationalists, I ll take a crack at briefly addressing it. The nuts and bolts of this is that we have this half caste Austrian nobleman (his mother was Japanese) who made some remarks almost a century ago about how the man of the future would be mixed race. He is also in some sense considered the father of the EU due to his pan European political organization. From this it is asserted that he planned the genocide of the white race and that European elites are implementing this plan now almost a century later. • 13. Stereotype A Thought By Beverly Daniel Tatum Stereotype a Thought Today, many believe that stereotypes have been eradicated throughout our modern world, this is far from the truth. Beverly Daniel Tatum, an author of several books including Why Are Black Kids Sitting Together in the Cafeteria asks, How did academic achievement become defined as exclusively white behavior? Tatum has an interesting point, however stereotyping is not just about race it can be about gender bias, or body issues too. Ann DuCille, author of From Multicultural Barbie and the Merchandising of Difference says; Barbie s body is a consumer object itself a vehicle for display of clothing and spectacular trappings of a wealthy teenage fantasy life . Ducille gives a good example of body politics, and the importance of not only focusing on race. Thus, is a good example of how stereotypes are learned by how one is treated in school or at home. Education about racial identity, gender equality, and body shaming, to an extent, will help eliminate some forms of stereotyping and create a more understanding and equal society. Therefore schools are not the problem, stereotypes, however racist, sexist, or just plain mean, are learned at home and in schools from peers, parents and teachers alike. In a way, stereotypes will never truly be eliminated from our world because from the day we are born we notice differences. One may argue that it is just a distinction between people, which constitutes stereotyping. Just ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 16. The Term, Image Of God Introduction: The term image of God occurs three times in the Bible. In Genesis 1:26 27 and 9:6, we find out that man is created in the image of God. In 2 Cor. 4:4 we see the phrase used in reference to Jesus who is the image of God. There is no exact understanding of what the phrase means, but we can generalize. It would seem that the first two verses refer to God s character and attributes that are reflected in people. The term cannot be a reference to a physical appearance of God since Jesus says in John 4:24 that God is Spirit, and in Luke 24:39 Spirit does not have flesh and bones. Therefore, we can conclude that the image of God deals with humanity s reflection of God in such things as compassion, rationality, love, hatred, fellowship, etc. God exhibits all of these characteristics, as do people. Example 1: A good starting point is to respect others because God said to. For example, we read in the Bible that husbands and wives are to respect their spouse and the wife must respect her husband Ephesians 5:33. Husbands, in the same way are considerate as you live with your wives, and treat them with respect 1 Peter 3:7. The same principle applies to other relationships. Peter wrote that we should show respect to everyone. You can respect your spouse, child, parent, boss or others because of their position. Acknowledge that others have weaknesses. Everyone is imperfect. Be careful not to let their failures erode your respect for their good qualities. Look for things ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Although most have come and gone with, either through battles or nature, they still amaze many scholars. The Statue of Zeus, the Colossus of Rhodes, the Light House of Alexandria, and the Hanging Gardens of Babylon have kept the minds of many filled with imagination and wonder of what the ancient world was like. The Statue of Zeus was is truly an amazing sculpture and was arguably the most famous statue of its day. This statue was dedicated to none other than Zeus, considered to be the most important of the Greek gods (Ancient Origins, 2017). The Statue of Zeus was housed in the Temple of Zeus constructed by the Greek Architect Libon. While Libon constructed the Temple some else was commissioned to create the Statue of Zeus, a sculptor named Phidias in 430 B.C. (Jordan, 2014). He was considered to be the most famous sculptor in ancient Greece. When travelers would come to see this statue they would say, If a man, with a heavy heart from grief and sorrow in life, will stand in front of the statue, he will forget all these. and Whereas we just wonder at the other six wonders, we kneel in front of this one in reverence, because the execution of the skill is as incredible as the image of Zeus is holy... • 22. Insurable Interest Essay What is Insurable Interest in a Maritime Insurance Policy The term insurable interest refers to the benefit (or interest) a person has in an insured object (or person as in a life insurance insurable interest). This benefit can refer to a financial benefit, among others. A person has insurable interest in a thing when he or she would experience some kind of loss (financial or otherwise) if the thing were to be damaged or lost. Say that you have piece of jewelry in your home that is also a family heirloom. If someone were to steal it (or if you were to drop it down the sink, or in the toilet, or even lose it in the garbage) you would suffer different kinds of loss, both financial and emotional. Thus, you have an insurable interest ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... There is no requirement of insurable interest when the contract is made. This section also allows the subject matter of a marine policy to be insured lost or not lost . This means that it is possible for the insured to recover under a marine policy even if he acquired his interest after the loss has occurred, unless he was aware of the loss and the insurer was not. These rules reflect the practices of marine trade where cargo frequently changes ownership in the course of transit. In this case there is a transfer of rights i.e assignment of interest. Assignment of Interest may be done by endorsement in blank that is to sign the policy. Alternatively, this can be also done by signing in favor of one other person. In turn, only that person can then claim to be the rightful owner. The law permits this unless the policy states otherwise. However, hull policies prohibit assignment even though the marine act promotes this transfer of rights. An interesting fact is that companies can have insurable interest in their workers, both in higher ups and in those lower down the ladder. There has been some controversy about this recently, where companies took life insurance policies out on their employees without their employees consent. In these instances, the companies collected the policies on their deceased employees, who sometimes did not even work for them anymore. Of course companies have ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Each device is place and used to allow readers to feel as if they are going through the difficulties and the happiest moments as another character in the book, and raises awareness to the trials that they faced. In fact, music is one of the most peculiar conventions in cinema. It is not an aspect of film that is questioned, due to its repeated imprint on viewers every time a movie is seen. Music in film is not only something we accept, but something we demand. With time, the advancements in technology has allowed for the creation of more intricate, film scores that have separated themselves as iconic pieces of culture. Of these, the works of Hans Zimmer, in collaboration with Christopher Nolan, have made a particularly transformative impact on the film industry. Their partnership has seen the creation of numerous successes, including The Dark Knight Trilogy (2005, 2008, 2012), Inception (2010) and Interstellar (2014). The poem I Have A Yong Suster is a piece of Middle English poetry that can have several meanings depending on how it is read. Some say that the poem suggests a sexual relationship, while others say that it is an exchange between siblings. The narrator in this poem is sent three gifts that can have different meanings depending on who sent them. One interpretation identifies the sender as the narrator s sister, and it portrays themes of love and innocence. Another interpretation claims that the sender is a sweetheart or lover of the narrator, and in this interpretation, the poem represents courtship. I ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Another important detail in this interpretation is the choice made by the author to make the sender of these gifts a young sibling. This could be an intentional decision to strengthen the connection between these specific gifts and young children. According to the Middle English Dictionary, however, suster can be translated as spouse or lover . This interpretation gives the poem a sexual twist. The first gift, the cherry, is representative of a woman s virginity. The second gift, a dove, is typically a symbol of love. Also, they have been said to carry messages, such as the messages between the narrator and their lover. Additionally, the briar fits into the theme of nature symbols, and reproduction is a part of nature. The idea of the gifts being related to children also fits into this interpretation. The narrator notes late in the poem that Whan the maiden hath that she loveth, / She is withoute longinge (27 28). Longinge can be interpreted to mean longing, as in wishfulness, but it can also be read as longing, as in a sexual desire. This could mean that when a girl has the one she loves, her desire for love in a possibly sexual manner is sated. Reading the poem with the translation of suster as lover gives it a new twist and changes some of the meanings that can be interpreted from the poem. The meaning of lover carries on to modern songs such as I Gave My Love A Cherry by Carly Simon in 2007. This song is often ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Paul had passed through Galatia during his ministry and he had preached and established churches there. The letter to the Galatians was written around C.E. 51 and later tradition will assert without certainty that Paul had written to the Galatians from Ephesus. Paul s letter to the Galatians is sometimes compared with his letter to the Romans in the respect that the Galatian letter was written to a church that Paul founded and visited where his letter to the Romans was written to a church he had never visited. The Galatian letter was also very hostile where the Roman letter was friendly and joyous (Kee, 5th Ed., 240). Paul had a great attachment to the Galatians. He makes reference to the first time he preached the gospel in Galatia and how he had fell ill and the Galatians cared for him. This marked the beginning of a tender, honest and privileged relationship with them and even in the face of their doubt in his gospel, Paul was still able to refer to them as quot;my dear children quot; (Jervis, 1). Paul wrote the letter to the Galatians because, after his departure from the Galatian churches, Jewish Christian fanatics came into Galatia and corrupted Paul s Gospel of man s free justification by faith in Christ Jesus (Luther, 9). His main purpose in writing to the Galatians was to re preach quot;the truth of the gospel quot; (Gal. 2:5, 14). This would prove a ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
