Antisemitism And Racism
Throughout global history, there have been large debates pertaining to people that aren t accepted as
the ideal race. These debates are mostly about the ongoing injustices of non Caucasians and the
actions that should be taken to ensure the protection of white Christian values . Whether they are
brown, yellow, or blue, the majority has found horrible ways to prevent minorities from having equal
rights as human beings. I have found that people as high up as government officials have even
promoted these unjust actions. The holocaust is a prime example. Some of the most common ways
they ve robbed minorities of their humanity are through social exclusivity, which the oppressors have
justified through racial differences. Realistically, these types of justifications are simply filtered down
to racism. Not to mention, I ve realized that the Jewish community isn t new to this form of accepted
racism. In fact, they ve experienced such a vast amount of hate that the term antisemitism was coined
from their oppression. In my opinion, the terms antisemitism and racism relate through racial thought
based essentials such as their supporter s destructive actions toward people of a different race, their
systemic discriminatory nature, and prejudice principles. Furthermore, I have realized that
antisemitism and racism are comparable through their supporters racially based destructive actions
toward those of a different race. In general, there have been a tremendous amount of

applied to find out the optimal generation of each unit when the generation cost curves are non smooth
and discontinuous in nature. Most of the PSO algorithms suffer from the problem of premature
convergence in the early stages of the search and hence are unable to locate the global optimum. The
idea here is to exercise proper control over the global and local exploration of the swarm during the
optimization process. The PSO_TVAC based approach for practical non convex ELD problem is

The Lambda iteration method is implemented in three and six generating units. The results are
compared for two different cases with and without losses. In first case generator constraints are
considered along with the lossless system and in second case generator constraints are considered with
the losses. All the programming has been done in MATLAB environment. In this study, three and six
unit thermal power plant is considered which is solved for two different cases with and without losses.
Vo Ngoc Dieu [16], proposed an augmented Lagrange Hopfield network (ALHN) for real power
dispatch on large scale power systems. The proposed ALHN is a continuous Hopfield network with its
energy function based on augmented Lagrange function. For this combination, the ALHN method can
easily deal with large scale problems with nonlinear constraints. The proposed ALHN has been tested
on systems from 40 units to 240 units, IEEE 118 bus and IEEE 300 bus systems, and the obtained
results have been compared to those from other methods. The test results have shown that the ALHN
method can obtain better solutions than the com¬pared methods in a very fast manner. Therefore, the
proposed ALHN could be favorable for implementation on the real power dispatch problems for large
scale systems. The proposed ALHN has been tested on differ¬ent systems with large number of
generating units and buses for two cases neglecting power loss and including power loss in
transmission system. Serhat

Diesel Fuel Prices Trucking Industry
The recent surge in the cost of heating oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline in the United States has had
significant impact on many sectors of the U.S. economy, but most importantly it has had quite a
devastating affect on the trucking industry. This is important due to the fact that nearly 70% of U.S.
communities rely solely on trucking for their supplies ( ATA 23). If the government continues it s trend
of non intervention and refuses to place pressure on OPEC, the prices will continue to soar well over
the two dollar mark, and cause the trucking industry as a whole to shut down bringing the U.S.
economy to a grinding halt. What is the reason that gasoline and fuel prices are so high? Most people
believe it is because of OPEC raising ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This may not seem like a big deal but to the refineries that produce the fuel it is a very big deal
because all of their equipment would have to be changed to allow for the desulphurization of the fuel.
Though the refineries argued against it saying less sulphur would damage engines the EPA upheld
their decision. Thus the refineries had to put in new equipment, which in the long run ended up
tacking on an additional $ 3.9 billion to already high fuel costs ( Cutting Sulphur 13). One of the
industries hardest hit by the fuel cost increase is the trucking industry. Truckers depend on diesel fuel
as their lifeblood, without it the rigs and our economy would come to a screeching halt. There is no
single affect of high fuel costs on every driver and company; rather there are many varying degrees to
which they are all affected. To large companies, it is more of an inconvenience than a problem because
they do such a large amount of business that the slight change in the price of diesel is almost
negligible in comparison to their revenues. For smaller businesses it is a whole different ballgame.
These companies are constantly fighting and working their figures to get business because it is
survival of the fittest. Whoever has the lowest rate per pallet or by the truckload is usually the one
who gets the contract and with this additional expense for fuel it makes it very difficult to cut a good

Lynch Mobs In The South
Lynching and Lynch mobs in the south and segregation. Lynching and Lynch mobs have been around
Since the early 1800s and became popular and more active after the end of the civil war and
implication of slaves in the south. Mobs would gather and voice their opinions about an african
american individual and would drag him/her to a tree, telephone pole, post, etc whatever was most
convenient at the time and would use a noose to hang them in front of everyone. These mobs were
soon name lynch mobs for there actions. Many in the town would join in or gather around to watch

The Scarlet Letter Archetypes
Archetypes in The Scarlet Letter
Archetypes are symbols of the basic human motives. There are many different archetypes with their
own set of values, traits, and emotions. The literary criticism, mythological, looks at the analysis of
the monomyth; which explains how all stories are just different variations of each other. Archetypes
explain how the characters, symbols, or places in the stories we read are just variations of the
monomyth. Characters in The Scarlet Letter represented the universal archetypes. The character of
Pearl exemplifies the self type of the Sage. The truth will set you free

A Report On Motorcycle Training Environments
This study is conducted at a hospital in Brazil. It is taking a look at the same issues other countries
around the world are having with motorcycle accidents. Just like the rest of the world, Brazil is stating
how the amount of motorcycles on the roadways have increased over the last few years. Like all other
countries people are looking for a cheaper easier mode of transportation. This study looked at the
amount the insurance companies had to pay for motorcycle patients who wear a helmet to the ones
who did not. They found that on average the amount spent on medical care for a no helmet patient was
$5.5 billion. For the patients that wore a motorcycle helmet the price dropped to $3.3 billion. They
also noted that the chance of survival increase with wearing a helmet then without, with a Glasgow
Coma Scale score of 8 or lower and less likely to die from their injuries. I believe that studies like this
need to be incorporated into motorcycle training environments, informing the riders on all the facts.
Even with me leaving a place that has a mandatory helmet law, and going to a state that doesn t
require helmet use, I will still wear a helmet every time I ride.
The main protective equipment used in motorcycling is the helmet. While there are different
manufactures they fall into three main categories. There is the full face helmet the covers the head and
the entire face; the three quarter helmet which covers the head, ears, and the face is open; and the half

The Bombing Of Guernica By Pablo Ruiz Picasso
Guernica was painted on a canvas with oil by Pablo Ruiz Picasso in 1937. He was inspired by the
experimental bombing of Guernica in Spain by the Germans during the Spanish Civil War. The Reina
Sofia National Art Museum is the current home of this famous anti war painting.
Figure 1: Image from Reina Sofia National Art Museum
Pablo Picasso s painting is one of the most famous war paintings in history and a perfect artistic
response to war, because it depicts how all wars cause senseless acts of cruelty, overwhelming sadness
and despair of loss, and confusion of the lives amongst the chaos. Guernica illustrates unnecessary
crimes of cruelty by showing the dead child in its mother s arms, a woman being burned alive, and

Picasso s scheme of monochromatic colors of black is purposely done to show how dark war is.
Therefore, making people realize how death is a dark situation, not a light one. The points of pain are
painted light grey to emphasize desolation. Accordingly, he has the hole in the horse shaded dark to
portray emptiness. As the characters fling their heads back, their mouths are open upward towards
heaven as if they are crying out to God. He also details this by having the slain man on the ground s
hand facing upward and a flower growing out of his sword to symbolize hope after death. Altogether,

What Does Cough Syrup Mean
The theme of the song Cough Syrup by Young the Giant, is about being careful with the decisions you
make because it could affect your life on the long run. Throughout the song, the phrase cough syrup is
a metaphor that resemble the awful moments of the speaker s life. In which the speaker is forced to
take, in order to find his fortune that [he] should had found that would end his miserable life. The
reason the cough syrup resemble the bitter moments of his life, is because the taste of cough syrup is
usually unpleasant to the tastebuds. An awful moment that you just wish to be over with after the first

Planet Of The Apes Film Analysis
Beginning a theme of taking older films and recreating them in his own style, Planet of the Apes was
based off Pierre Boulle s 1963 novel and a 1968 film version. The premise was about an American
man that landed on a planet ruled by apes, which was released in 2001. Although the film has a rather
shaky reputation, it forever changed Burton s life. While filming, actress Helena Bonham Carter, who
was playing one of the lead characters, caught Tim s eye. The two would later start a professional
relationship, with her starring in many of his films like Depp, as well as a personal relationship.

Personally, I believe the reason is the same as to why so many people love him and his films. He s
different, and in a very good, yet odd way. Nobody has really seen anything like what he has
envisioned and brought to the table. Not only is he extremely unique, but he is also very relatable to
anyone who has ever felt like an outsider or that they were weird or even rejected by the world. In this
way, his audience can really connect with his films, even though they are out of this world
imaginative. Honestly, Burton is my all time favorite director, and for the same reasons as anyone else,
I can identify with his art. One person s craziness is another person s reality he has said. Not all of his
work is mind blowing or even amazing, but you can t deny that when you watch one of his films you
feel just a little bit transported to another world. He has transformed modern cinema with his
Burtonesque style and has also inspired many other directors, actors, artists, films, and shows. He s
also given actors dozens of opportunities to start up and expand their careers. Maybe his films aren t
everybody s cup of tea , but there s just no denying his glittering talent. It is inspiring to see someone
come from such a rough beginning to come out on top, giving hope to many. Tim Burton has truly left
his stamp on the world of film, as I believe to be one of history s best directors, and changed the world
of cinema and art

Prejudice In Harper Lee s Go Set A Watchman
Harper Lee once said, Prejudice, a dirty word, and faith, a clean one, have something in common: they
both begin where reason ends. In her novel, Go Set A Watchman, Jean Louise Finch comes back home
from her job in New York to take care of her father and along the way, she ends up uncovering many
secrets about her hometown and family. Will she ever view her friends and family in the same manner
as she did when she was young? The South had recently lost the civil war but were slowly gaining
rights back. African Americans became free from slavery and the Supreme Court s Brown v. Board of
Education and the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People become a huge
controversy. Jean Louise follows her father, Atticus, and her childhood sweetheart, Henry, to a council

Gender Roles And Expectations In The Birthmark
One of the most striking aspects of the 19th century is the distinctive use of gender roles and
expectations. Specifically, these aspects are provided strongly in the The Birthmark by Nathaniel

faced with the predicament of an imperfection taking the shape of a birthmark upon Georgina s cheek.
By 19th century standards, Georgiana is successful at fulfilling the role of a wife. What does the

Climate And Climate Change
The global climate is predicted to change rapidly over the next century and many environmental
changes will happen (Houghton et al., 2001). The increasing of atmospheric CO2 concentration is the
main reason for climate change phenomenon (IPCC Climate Change, 2007). As a result for increased
atmospheric CO2, global surface temperatures are predicted to increase between 1.8 and 3.6 1C by the
year 2100 (IPCC Climate Change, 2007). The increased temperature, will lead to soil water content
decrease in some areas (Le Houerou, 1996). Agriculture is one of the most important sector for the
survival of human life is highly affected by climate change (Deryng et al., 2014). Lobell and Field
(2007), demonstrated a decrease in maize yields 8.3 % per 1 C rise, which improve the harmful effects
of temperatures increases. Also the rising temperatures increase the rate of phenological development,
leading to a smaller plant and less productivity due to life cycle shortage. In fact abiotic and biotic
stress is a serious condition causing major problem for crop productivity. About 20 % of cultivable
and at least half of irrigated lands around the world are severely affected by environmental stresses.
However, in these conditions, there are plant populations successfully adapted and evolutionarily
different in their strategy of stress tolerance (Choudhary et al., 2016). One of the most vulnerable
stages of plant development to temperature stress is the pollination phase because of pollen s

The computers and the internet were extremely expensive and not all Americans could afford the two
core elements. The rich could easily afford the internet and computers while the majority who were

poor over the computers and the internet. A time had come when jobs would only be obtained by the
few who had technical knowledge on computer and internet use (Qureshi, 2014).
An article written by New York Times in 1996 was the most outstanding definition of the digital

exclusive digital devices, the public schools attended by the poorest in the community could not afford
any platform for the technological devices (Poole, 1996).

while a number of the students in the poor schools were being denied an opportunity for growth. The

The Persecution Of The Church
How many times have you been judged? Judged based on your looks, the way you act, your social
position, or your Christian faith. Every day, two hundred million Christians around the world are
judged and persecuted for what they put their faith in. Christians are the most persecuted religious
group in history and are persecuted for their faith in more than sixty countries ( About Christian
Persecution ). Persecution is a program or campaign to exterminate, drive away, or subjugate a people
because of their religion, race, or beliefs ( Persecution ). Even though believers face many struggles
now and then, the persecution of the church is causing the church to become stronger through the
hardships. Since the time of Jesus, Christians have been tempered in the fires of persecution. In the
newly formed early church, many Christians suffered because of the Roman Empire. Multiple servants
of the Lord including Peter, John, Stephen, James, Paul and more were some of the first recorded
Christians to be persecuted. This abuse became worse over the years until the worst period of
persecution beginning at the start of the fourth century, earning the name The Great Persecution. At
this time, Diocletian became emperor of Rome, and with his reign came new mandates. Christianity
was decreed as illicit, leaders of the church were imprisoned, thousands of Christians were killed, and
the ones who were not killed, were forced to worship false gods. It was not until the end of the fourth

Five Forces Analysis Video Gaming
Five Forces Analysis of the Video Game Industry The five forces that drive industry competition, a
model established by Michael Porter, are; threat of substitution, threat of new entrants, bargaining
power of suppliers, bargaining power of buyers, and intensity of rivalry. The video game industry
must deal with all five of these forces. The analysis of the strength of these five forces within the
video game industry will help to draw a conclusion as to whether or not it is an attractive industry for
Sony to be in. The threat of substitutes in the video game industry is relatively low. Most customers
are looking for a console that they can play games on and there really isn t much else to choose from.
One could say that computer ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The main suppliers in the video game industry are the game makers. These companies pay a royalty
fee to the company that makes the console. Game makers have the decision to make certain games
exclusively for one console if they are paid enough money, for example Halo made for the Xbox, or
make them available on many different platforms. This threat is also moderate for the game industry.
The larger the variety of games as well as the better the quality the more likely a customer is to buy
one game console over another. The fourth force is that of the bargaining power of the buyers. In the
video game industry the buyers do not have very much power, thus making this a weak threat. The
buyers do not have much power because the video game industry does not consist of many players.
The lack in the customers choices means that they are willing to pay a little more money to get such
an item. The fifth and final force is that of the intensity of rivalry. This is the strongest force in the
video game industry. Nintendo was very strategic in targeting an audience that Microsoft and Sony
neglected. While Microsoft and Sony focused on the typical gamers, males ages 18 34, Nintendo
focused on a broader audience everyone when creating their Wii. In the video game industry rivalry
Microsoft and Sony are battling for the same market, while Nintendo has much of its audience all to
itself. This is why

Ichabod In Tim Burton s Sleepy Hollow
Although Tim Burton s Sleepy Hollow is a depiction of Washington Irving s The Legend of Sleepy
Hollow, the movie is quite different than the original horror story. Burton takes a legendary ghost tale
and transforms it into a murder mystery. He alters the character roles and add more properties to assist
in redesigning the film. By taking Ichabod, the main character and shifting his career, Burton is able to
develop the plot that initially sets the change from one genre to another. In the original story, Ichabod
is an awkwardly, thin school teacher who loves engaging in stories about the supernatural. According
to Irving, He was tall, but exceedingly lank with narrow shoulders, long arms and legs, hands that
dangled a mile out of his ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He believes in science and reasoning making him a not so easy target to be scared by the supernatural.
This is why Burton s Ichabod is a detective and the headless horseman is considered to be a murderer
instead of ghostly figure who haunts the living. Changing Ichabod s profession is an extremely
essential part of the film. It serves as the main purpose as to why the genre is changed to a murder
mystery. By having Ichabod as a constable, Ichabod searches for clues and seeks out to find the
headless horsemen. If Burton had not changed Ichabod s profession, it would be relatively impractical
to see a cowardly teacher on a murder scene trying to catch the suspect. Although Burton s Ichabod is
a detective, he still possess qualities of a teacher. For instance, he takes young Masbeth under his
wing. Taking Masbeth on excursions with him through Sleepy Hollow, he teaches him how to
investigate through experiences. Ichabod s investigation of the victims is also quite similar to a
teacher. Like chemistry teachers who perform experiments in a laboratory, Ichabod does the same. For
instance, the first investigation scene where he sprinkles a substance on the body of the man who was
just killed or investigating the strides of the horseman to determine how many steps he

Gender Roles in Japan Essay
It is no secret that for centuries, the Japanese woman has been, to most observers, a model of elegance
and graceful beauty. A picture of a kimono clad, modest, and often silent woman has been plastered
everywhere, allowing for the upmost passive subjection. If we look deeper into this image of woman,
can we tell if this picture is complete? How do these women painted in representative images far in
the modern world? The ideal woman in Japan is expected to be both a good wife, and a wise mother.
Though these seem like reasonable expectations, there is a much deeper meaning to them that has
shown signs of being outdated. During the 1800 s and 1900 s, women were subjected to society s
vision of them, and could not break free for fear of the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

stated that a woman who endures well in any circumstance will achieve happiness, and what is said is
true.
History reports that though there were many women in leadership positions (Queens, empresses, etc.),
they appeared to be second class citizens. It seemed as though the only relationship they were
prompted to have was with their husbands. However, they endured. They came to the realization that
if this is how life would be, this is the life they would have to get used to. Due to multiple different
influences, there are many inconsistencies when it comes to the role of women in ancient Japan.

The Glorious Revolution In American History
1. The Glorious Revolution
In 1688, the Protestant Queen Mary and her husband, William of Orange, took the British throne from
King James II in a bloodless coup. The Glorious Revolution had significant long term effects on
American history in that the Bill of Rights and the Act of Toleration, passed in England in 1689,
influenced attitudes and events in the colonies. Even more significant, the overthrow of James II set a
precedent for the removal of a hated monarch.
2. Aztecs
This was an empire that comprised of the Mesoamerican people who were conquered by the Spanish
under Hernando Cortés, 1519 1528. The Aztec empire had a capital city called Tenochtitlan which was
built on marshy islands on the western side of Lake Tetzcoco, which is ... Show more content on

Yet the war was far from over. It was by the stroke of a pen, changed the conflict from a war to restore
the Union to a struggle to end slavery It was not until January 1, 1863, that President Abraham
Lincoln signed the Emancipation Proclamation.
6. Antietam This was far most the terrible battle of the age. It was the bloodiest single day in American
history. Some 6,400 soldiers on both sides were killed, and another 17,000 were wounded. A Union
officer counted hundreds of dead bodies lying in rows and in piles. The scene was sickening,
harrowing, horrible.
7. The Whiskey Rebellion Soon after the Battle of Fallen Timbers, the Washington administration
resolved on another show of strength in the backcountry, this time against the so called Whiskey
Rebellion. The whiskey rebellion had happened because Hamilton had started taxing on liquor which
was levied in 1791. This made the farmers angry because it taxed their most profitable commodity.
8. Anaconda Plan This plan was issued which involved imposing a naval blockade on southern ports
and slowly crushing resistance on all fronts. The Union s industrial might was a deciding factor in a
long war of attrition.

The Degree Of Mba Degree
There is controversy in the added value a student gets out of a degree in Masters of Business
Administration (MBA). Experts outside of the field argue that the MBA degree program provides
courses for students, but that the courses are not teaching the students skills that they need for the
field. Chris Roebuck says that MBA School graduates educated bad leaders, (62). Jeffrey Pfeffer; a
professor of organizational behavior says that not all successful business leaders have an MBA degree
(12). Supporting professor Pfeffer, Charles Haddad mentions that successful businessmen have made a
career without a degree in MBA. For example, Bill Gates and Ted Turner say they didn t bother with
the degree because over a span of years the degree lessens in value (12). Attaining an MBA degree has
better benefits than those who don t because a degree ensures that you are qualified and skillful in
doing your job. Having an MBA degree enhances management practice because it gives you tools that
prepare you for the field, a broader perspective on how business is run, and enriches your learning
experience by networking with peers of various disciplines. MBA programs are designed to prepare,
and enhance managers for difficulties they might find in the field. Having an MBA gives the manager
a broader perspective on the business as a whole, and allows more strategic decisions that will
ultimately impact the bottom line. Studies suggest that for most managers, the MBA program was seen

The Importance Of Scientific Observation In The Classroom
Working scientifically is extremely important within the classroom, for it is an educational process
which allows children to advance upon their scientific enquiries and knowledge through the means of
investigation, bettering their understanding of the world around (IAP, 2012 cited in Harlen and
Qualter, 2014:100). The nature of working scientifically incorporates the children s learning of
systems, methods and contexts within the scientific world, allowing them to develop an understanding
of the scientific ideas and processes whilst using skills employed by scientists (IAP, 2012 cited in
Harlen and Qualter, 2014:100). These scientific enquiry skills developed and used through scientific
working are especially significant within the classroom because they are also applicable to colloquial
life, for example, the enquiry skills of: observation and questioning.
Observation is a definitive, important enquiry skill and a cornerstone of the enquiry (Anderson,
Martin, Faszewski, 2006) which a child will utilise whilst working scientifically. By definition,
observation is an enquiry skill which serves as a scientific discipline used for the constructing and
rationalising of explanations and theories; the skill is most effective when the controlling of variables
has been made difficult to efficiently measure the outcomes of an investigation, meaning observation
is the most beneficial way to evaluate results (Smith Reiser, 2005). Moreover, within the classroom,
observation has

Moral Panic Essay
Moral Panic Moral panic is a widely used and often misinterpreted concept in social sciences. The
term was invented by the British sociologist Stanley Cohen the late sixties. Cohen defined moral panic
as a form of collective behaviour during which: A condition, episode, person or group emerges to
become defined as a threat to societal values and interests; its nature is presented in a stylised and
stereotypical fashion by the mass media; the moral barricades are manned by editors, bishops,
politicians and other right thinking people; socially accredited experts pronounce their diagnosis and
solutions; ways of coping are evolved or (more often) resorted to; the condition then disappears, ...

It represents the collective fear of the society from the other . I suggest that today moral panic is not
simply a matter of exaggerated social problems, but it is a fear of losing control over the other and the
fear of the truth about the other . Moral panic intends to reinforce the boundaries between the self and
the other . My case study is the moral panic of pornography on the Internet. Moral panic What is
moral panic? Moral panic is a form of collective behaviour that from one day to the other considers a
certain group of people dangerous. The reasons might vary from fake rumours to real (exaggerated)
facts. The period of a moral panic usually ends with social actions either in form of attacking the other
(in the case of a Satanic Ritual) or in changing the law (pornography on the Internet). Moral panics
usually take place at the time of significant changes in society, when there is a great fear of loss of
control. In these times collective consciousness needs to be reinforced so that society can locate new
boundaries. Other examples of moral panics are over witchcrafts, satanic rituals, drugs, handguns,
teenage pregnancy, TV violence, Internet and so on. According to Goode and Ben Yehuda, moral
panic has the following necessary indicators: 1. Concern (different from fear) over the imagined threat
(and those associated with

What Is Porter s Five Forces Of Intel
Porter s Five Forces Analysis Using Five Forces analysis brings the purpose to analyze the industry in
order to determine the level of intensity regarding the competition and attractiveness of the industry
(Porter, 1979). The attractiveness of an industry is measured in terms of profit; more profitability
means a more attractive industry and otherwise. According to Porter (1979), the nature of
competitiveness in a given industry can be figured as a composite of the following five forces: rivalry
among competitive firms, potential entry of new competitors, threats of substitute products, bargaining
power of suppliers, and bargaining power of consumers. Intel s porter five forces analysis conducted
to look for the influences of competitive environment within the PC components industry. The
collective strength of these forces ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Buyers of Intel Corp s products include computer and mobile phones manufacturing companies such
as HP, Dell, Samsung, Acers, and Nokia among others. The buyers include end user home computer
builders and small PC Clone shops that build customized machines in most cities. Buyer power in this
industry has fluctuated from time to time, but for the most part, the Intel Inside logo has been
considered by most manufacturers to be too important to forgo. The diversity of its buyers is
advantageous to Intel Corp because it makes it hard for them to set or demand for their own prices.
Consumers had no bargaining power in the past when Intel was the only producer of microprocessors
but with the increase in competition has given consumers a choice and a more competitive price.
However, several of these companies such as Samsung and Toshiba are now making their own
processors and can therefore demand for lower prices and set the terms of business for Intel Corp. This
is because they have several suppliers for the same products Intel Corp is

Mixed Race and Cultural Expectance among Asian American Artists
The idea of mixed race, culture, heritage has been a subject for many discussions and debates
regarding its communication through art. How the artist themselves relate to this idea and how or why
they use specific art pieces to portray their idea is very interesting. Viewers who do not share the same
upbringing or lifestyle may find it harder to understand such pieces if it is only characterized as being
artworks of Asian Americans. Questions such as who is Asian American or what is an Asian American
start to emerge amongst audience like that. However, two Asian American artists: Roger Shimomura
and Kip Fulbeck both men who are clearly of different generations ... Show more content on

Just as common, subtle references continue to connect me to stereotypical oriental traits, both physical
and behavioral. As mentioned earlier, due to having his Japanese heritage but living in the United
States, Shimomura has been subjected to many stereotypical cruelty, where he is often asked what part
of Japan he is from; leading back to the idea of being a knockoff in America. There are many images
in the series but there are three similar images: American Mouse, Roger the Goof, and American Hello
Kitty. All these images are of the iconic Mickey Mouse, Goofy and Hello Kitty but he changed their
faces into his own. These three images portray the idea of how Shimomura felt being stereotyped and
categorized as Japanese solely due to his heritage. American Mouse and Roger the Goof convey his
idea of how he may look Japanese on the outside; he is no doubt American in the inside. As for the
American Hello Kitty, Shimomura slightly diverges and is trying to attack two stereotypes: one, that
Japan is considered to be strongly connected to Hello Kitty as a culture and the other that since he is
Japanese, he must know and relate to it as well. Such cultural expectations are very much showing
through this particular piece because of how he only changed the face, viewers can tell it is Hello
Kitty without looking at the name based on the clothing and ears but it is comical but very
straightforward in portraying the idea of being expected to know or act a certain way simply because

My Memorable Experience
I love learning in school. But sadly, I ended up having a rough time at the end of my senior year. I
moved to Oklahoma from Illinois before I finished the last year of high school, and after I move it was
hard to get adjusted to a new school. I hope you enjoy my essay!
Let s start off with the pleasant experience I had in my past education, health careers. I was really
good in this class. Health careers was a class that taught me about diseases, CPR, and much more. We
had many projects and activities. One of the projects I remember I did and felt so proud of. It was the
kidney I sculpted. My teacher gave me an A+ for putting a lot of effort into it. My teacher loved it to
the part she asked me if she can keep it as a reference for future students. It made me really happy and
of course, I said yes, what an honor for me that she is going to use my work as a good example for
future students.
My unpleasant experience was a history class. I m not really a history person, but I worked so hard to
pass the class. I had a lot of problems going in front of my class and presenting the projects the
teachers assigned to us during class. I am really a shy person, and when I am in front of many people I
get really stressed out and I start to mess up on words and talk differently. But thanks to my husband
he was able to help me raise my confidence and break this habit, now I can to hold a conversation with
people without stressing out. I ended up passing the class with a C, I worked so

The Impact Of Technology On The Music Industry Essay
Technology has brought many advantageous opportunities to the music industry in the area of
production and distribution. Besides popular and valuable instruments such as the electric guitar and
the synthesizer, technology has brought us new production equipment such as high fidelity
microphones, re mastering equipment and CD ROMs that provide us with a crystal clear sound of the
recording. The development of these equipment has allowed the audience to experience a higher
quality of sound coming from both live concerts and recordings.
Easiness of transportation that came along with the technological developments in the sector, has
allowed the record labels to distribute music all around the world. During the 1950s turbojet engines
were cleared for civilian use, and with new civil jet engine cargo aircraft distribution of almost any
item became easier and faster than ever before. The evolution of the computer and the Internet was
also a great distribution advantage for the music industry and should not be underestimated. New
sound formats, such as the MP3, have made music distribution easier. Companies could now provide
selling licenses to companies that would allow users to download certain songs from the Internet at a
very high speed. The music industry also got many opportunities for advertisements since they were
now not limited to billboards, TV and radio. Many companies can now promote their records by
playing a preview for the user, on certain websites.

Forgetfulness Billy Collins
Poem Essay: Forgetfulness by Billy Collins A feeling that disturbs people most of the time is the
feeling of forgetfulness. This is because people are struggling to remember something they cannot
remember, therefore it puts a person in distress. In Forgetfulness , Billy Collins uses imagery to warn
the reader of the dangers and risks he might take if he does not pay attention to everything that
happens in his life. In his poem, Collins uses imagery to remind the reader of what it feels like when
someone is struggling to remember [something] and how a person cannot recall the specific memory
that was lost because it is not poised on the tip of [his] tongue . It happens to be a well known fact
when people forget anything, especially at the wrong time, it turns people from a state of calmness to a
state of panic. This is because he is ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Consider this in relation to growing up. Part of growing up is learning how to handle certain
situations, specifically emergency situations. However, many people assume that those types of
situations rarely happen, especially to themselves. For instance, a five year old boy does not want to
learn how to swim because he says he will stay on dry land his entire life. As the years go by, he
forgets about not wanting to swim. One day he is drafted into the navy, his ship is attacked and sinks,
and the next thing he knows, he drown because of the fact that he refused to learn how to swim. This
example shows he has ended up like those who have forgotten how to swim , in other words he died
like those who died from drowning. The man who drowned would not have suffered his fate if he had
paid attention to the swimming lessons his parents made him take. By listening to the poet s warning
of being in distress, the reader has the ability to prevent by remembering past lessons like this from

An Overview On The Investment Services Industry
Industry Information and Overview:
The investment services industry is one of the fastest paced and rapidly evolving sectors of the
economy. The industry is highly dependent on the state of the economy and is highly cyclical. In 2000
when established firms in the industry began to tap the potential of the Internet, trading volumes
crashed in what is now termed the Dot Com bubble. In 2002 when it seemed that innovative
technology and telecommunications companies would continuously improve business productivity,
the technology and telecom sectors crashed. More recently, just when the industry thought it figured
out how to rig the mortgage market to secure record profits with little to no risk, the entire mortgage
market crashed and created a liquidity crisis and a recession that would be later described as the Great
Recession. Investment services firms have learned time and time again that they still must contend
with an inevitable cycle of boom and bust.
The primary functions of an Investment Bank:
Raising Capital and Security Underwriting: One function of an Investment Bank is to package and
issue securities for sale to clients, companies or the general public. An investment bank would for
example facilitate the sale of shares of a previously private company that would like to go public and
offer those shares for sale to investors on an open market. The investment bank would determine the
value of the security and the underlying risk of the asset in order to sell it at an

  • 2. Antisemitism And Racism Throughout global history, there have been large debates pertaining to people that aren t accepted as the ideal race. These debates are mostly about the ongoing injustices of non Caucasians and the actions that should be taken to ensure the protection of white Christian values . Whether they are brown, yellow, or blue, the majority has found horrible ways to prevent minorities from having equal rights as human beings. I have found that people as high up as government officials have even promoted these unjust actions. The holocaust is a prime example. Some of the most common ways they ve robbed minorities of their humanity are through social exclusivity, which the oppressors have justified through racial differences. Realistically, these types of justifications are simply filtered down to racism. Not to mention, I ve realized that the Jewish community isn t new to this form of accepted racism. In fact, they ve experienced such a vast amount of hate that the term antisemitism was coined from their oppression. In my opinion, the terms antisemitism and racism relate through racial thought based essentials such as their supporter s destructive actions toward people of a different race, their systemic discriminatory nature, and prejudice principles. Furthermore, I have realized that antisemitism and racism are comparable through their supporters racially based destructive actions toward those of a different race. In general, there have been a tremendous amount of ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Two Step Gravitational Search Algorithm Essay applied to find out the optimal generation of each unit when the generation cost curves are non smooth and discontinuous in nature. Most of the PSO algorithms suffer from the problem of premature convergence in the early stages of the search and hence are unable to locate the global optimum. The idea here is to exercise proper control over the global and local exploration of the swarm during the optimization process. The PSO_TVAC based approach for practical non convex ELD problem is tested on four test systems having different sizes and non linearities. Out the four, two test systems are with valve point loading effects, one system has POZ and one system has a large dimension with 38 generating units. The PSO_TVAC is found to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The Lambda iteration method is implemented in three and six generating units. The results are compared for two different cases with and without losses. In first case generator constraints are considered along with the lossless system and in second case generator constraints are considered with the losses. All the programming has been done in MATLAB environment. In this study, three and six unit thermal power plant is considered which is solved for two different cases with and without losses. Vo Ngoc Dieu [16], proposed an augmented Lagrange Hopfield network (ALHN) for real power dispatch on large scale power systems. The proposed ALHN is a continuous Hopfield network with its energy function based on augmented Lagrange function. For this combination, the ALHN method can easily deal with large scale problems with nonlinear constraints. The proposed ALHN has been tested on systems from 40 units to 240 units, IEEE 118 bus and IEEE 300 bus systems, and the obtained results have been compared to those from other methods. The test results have shown that the ALHN method can obtain better solutions than the com¬pared methods in a very fast manner. Therefore, the proposed ALHN could be favorable for implementation on the real power dispatch problems for large scale systems. The proposed ALHN has been tested on differ¬ent systems with large number of generating units and buses for two cases neglecting power loss and including power loss in transmission system. Serhat ... • 4. Diesel Fuel Prices Trucking Industry The recent surge in the cost of heating oil, diesel fuel, and gasoline in the United States has had significant impact on many sectors of the U.S. economy, but most importantly it has had quite a devastating affect on the trucking industry. This is important due to the fact that nearly 70% of U.S. communities rely solely on trucking for their supplies ( ATA 23). If the government continues it s trend of non intervention and refuses to place pressure on OPEC, the prices will continue to soar well over the two dollar mark, and cause the trucking industry as a whole to shut down bringing the U.S. economy to a grinding halt. What is the reason that gasoline and fuel prices are so high? Most people believe it is because of OPEC raising ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... This may not seem like a big deal but to the refineries that produce the fuel it is a very big deal because all of their equipment would have to be changed to allow for the desulphurization of the fuel. Though the refineries argued against it saying less sulphur would damage engines the EPA upheld their decision. Thus the refineries had to put in new equipment, which in the long run ended up tacking on an additional $ 3.9 billion to already high fuel costs ( Cutting Sulphur 13). One of the industries hardest hit by the fuel cost increase is the trucking industry. Truckers depend on diesel fuel as their lifeblood, without it the rigs and our economy would come to a screeching halt. There is no single affect of high fuel costs on every driver and company; rather there are many varying degrees to which they are all affected. To large companies, it is more of an inconvenience than a problem because they do such a large amount of business that the slight change in the price of diesel is almost negligible in comparison to their revenues. For smaller businesses it is a whole different ballgame. These companies are constantly fighting and working their figures to get business because it is survival of the fittest. Whoever has the lowest rate per pallet or by the truckload is usually the one who gets the contract and with this additional expense for fuel it makes it very difficult to cut a good ... Lynching and Lynch mobs have been around Since the early 1800s and became popular and more active after the end of the civil war and implication of slaves in the south. There are many different archetypes with their own set of values, traits, and emotions. The literary criticism, mythological, looks at the analysis of the monomyth; which explains how all stories are just different variations of each other. Archetypes explain how the characters, symbols, or places in the stories we read are just variations of the monomyth. Characters in The Scarlet Letter represented the universal archetypes. • 8. A Report On Motorcycle Training Environments This study is conducted at a hospital in Brazil. It is taking a look at the same issues other countries around the world are having with motorcycle accidents. Just like the rest of the world, Brazil is stating how the amount of motorcycles on the roadways have increased over the last few years. Like all other countries people are looking for a cheaper easier mode of transportation. This study looked at the amount the insurance companies had to pay for motorcycle patients who wear a helmet to the ones who did not. They found that on average the amount spent on medical care for a no helmet patient was $5.5 billion. For the patients that wore a motorcycle helmet the price dropped to $3.3 billion. They also noted that the chance of survival increase with wearing a helmet then without, with a Glasgow Coma Scale score of 8 or lower and less likely to die from their injuries. I believe that studies like this need to be incorporated into motorcycle training environments, informing the riders on all the facts. Even with me leaving a place that has a mandatory helmet law, and going to a state that doesn t require helmet use, I will still wear a helmet every time I ride. The main protective equipment used in motorcycling is the helmet. While there are different manufactures they fall into three main categories. There is the full face helmet the covers the head and the entire face; the three quarter helmet which covers the head, ears, and the face is open; and the half ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Figure 1: Image from Reina Sofia National Art Museum Pablo Picasso s painting is one of the most famous war paintings in history and a perfect artistic response to war, because it depicts how all wars cause senseless acts of cruelty, overwhelming sadness and despair of loss, and confusion of the lives amongst the chaos. Planet Of The Apes Film Analysis Beginning a theme of taking older films and recreating them in his own style, Planet of the Apes was based off Pierre Boulle s 1963 novel and a 1968 film version. The premise was about an American man that landed on a planet ruled by apes, which was released in 2001. Although the film has a rather shaky reputation, it forever changed Burton s life. While filming, actress Helena Bonham Carter, who was playing one of the lead characters, caught Tim s eye. The two would later start a professional relationship, with her starring in many of his films like Depp, as well as a personal relationship. Nobody has really seen anything like what he has envisioned and brought to the table. Not only is he extremely unique, but he is also very relatable to anyone who has ever felt like an outsider or that they were weird or even rejected by the world. In this way, his audience can really connect with his films, even though they are out of this world imaginative. Honestly, Burton is my all time favorite director, and for the same reasons as anyone else, I can identify with his art. One person s craziness is another person s reality he has said. Not all of his work is mind blowing or even amazing, but you can t deny that when you watch one of his films you feel just a little bit transported to another world. He has transformed modern cinema with his Burtonesque style and has also inspired many other directors, actors, artists, films, and shows. He s also given actors dozens of opportunities to start up and expand their careers. Maybe his films aren t everybody s cup of tea , but there s just no denying his glittering talent. It is inspiring to see someone come from such a rough beginning to come out on top, giving hope to many. The increasing of atmospheric CO2 concentration is the main reason for climate change phenomenon (IPCC Climate Change, 2007). As a result for increased atmospheric CO2, global surface temperatures are predicted to increase between 1.8 and 3.6 1C by the year 2100 (IPCC Climate Change, 2007). The increased temperature, will lead to soil water content decrease in some areas (Le Houerou, 1996). Agriculture is one of the most important sector for the survival of human life is highly affected by climate change (Deryng et al., 2014). Lobell and Field (2007), demonstrated a decrease in maize yields 8.3 % per 1 C rise, which improve the harmful effects of temperatures increases. Also the rising temperatures increase the rate of phenological development, leading to a smaller plant and less productivity due to life cycle shortage. In fact abiotic and biotic stress is a serious condition causing major problem for crop productivity. About 20 % of cultivable and at least half of irrigated lands around the world are severely affected by environmental stresses. However, in these conditions, there are plant populations successfully adapted and evolutionarily different in their strategy of stress tolerance (Choudhary et al., 2016). One of the most vulnerable stages of plant development to temperature stress is the pollination phase because of pollen s ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Every day, two hundred million Christians around the world are judged and persecuted for what they put their faith in. Christians are the most persecuted religious group in history and are persecuted for their faith in more than sixty countries ( About Christian Persecution ). Persecution is a program or campaign to exterminate, drive away, or subjugate a people because of their religion, race, or beliefs ( Persecution ). Even though believers face many struggles now and then, the persecution of the church is causing the church to become stronger through the hardships. Since the time of Jesus, Christians have been tempered in the fires of persecution. In the newly formed early church, many Christians suffered because of the Roman Empire. Multiple servants of the Lord including Peter, John, Stephen, James, Paul and more were some of the first recorded Christians to be persecuted. This abuse became worse over the years until the worst period of persecution beginning at the start of the fourth century, earning the name The Great Persecution. At this time, Diocletian became emperor of Rome, and with his reign came new mandates. Christianity was decreed as illicit, leaders of the church were imprisoned, thousands of Christians were killed, and the ones who were not killed, were forced to worship false gods. Five Forces Analysis Video Gaming Five Forces Analysis of the Video Game Industry The five forces that drive industry competition, a model established by Michael Porter, are; threat of substitution, threat of new entrants, bargaining power of suppliers, bargaining power of buyers, and intensity of rivalry. The video game industry must deal with all five of these forces. The analysis of the strength of these five forces within the video game industry will help to draw a conclusion as to whether or not it is an attractive industry for Sony to be in. The threat of substitutes in the video game industry is relatively low. Most customers are looking for a console that they can play games on and there really isn t much else to choose from. These companies pay a royalty fee to the company that makes the console. Game makers have the decision to make certain games exclusively for one console if they are paid enough money, for example Halo made for the Xbox, or make them available on many different platforms. This threat is also moderate for the game industry. The larger the variety of games as well as the better the quality the more likely a customer is to buy one game console over another. The fourth force is that of the bargaining power of the buyers. In the video game industry the buyers do not have very much power, thus making this a weak threat. The buyers do not have much power because the video game industry does not consist of many players. The lack in the customers choices means that they are willing to pay a little more money to get such an item. The fifth and final force is that of the intensity of rivalry. This is the strongest force in the video game industry. Nintendo was very strategic in targeting an audience that Microsoft and Sony neglected. Ichabod In Tim Burton s Sleepy Hollow Although Tim Burton s Sleepy Hollow is a depiction of Washington Irving s The Legend of Sleepy Hollow, the movie is quite different than the original horror story. Burton takes a legendary ghost tale and transforms it into a murder mystery. He alters the character roles and add more properties to assist in redesigning the film. By taking Ichabod, the main character and shifting his career, Burton is able to develop the plot that initially sets the change from one genre to another. If we look deeper into this image of woman, can we tell if this picture is complete? How do these women painted in representative images far in the modern world? The ideal woman in Japan is expected to be both a good wife, and a wise mother. The nature of working scientifically incorporates the children s learning of systems, methods and contexts within the scientific world, allowing them to develop an understanding of the scientific ideas and processes whilst using skills employed by scientists (IAP, 2012 cited in Harlen and Qualter, 2014:100). These scientific enquiry skills developed and used through scientific working are especially significant within the classroom because they are also applicable to colloquial life, for example, the enquiry skills of: observation and questioning. Observation is a definitive, important enquiry skill and a cornerstone of the enquiry (Anderson, Martin, Faszewski, 2006) which a child will utilise whilst working scientifically. By definition, observation is an enquiry skill which serves as a scientific discipline used for the constructing and rationalising of explanations and theories; the skill is most effective when the controlling of variables has been made difficult to efficiently measure the outcomes of an investigation, meaning observation is the most beneficial way to evaluate results (Smith Reiser, 2005). Moral panic intends to reinforce the boundaries between the self and the other . My case study is the moral panic of pornography on the Internet. Moral panic What is moral panic? Moral panic is a form of collective behaviour that from one day to the other considers a certain group of people dangerous. The reasons might vary from fake rumours to real (exaggerated) facts. The period of a moral panic usually ends with social actions either in form of attacking the other (in the case of a Satanic Ritual) or in changing the law (pornography on the Internet). Moral panics usually take place at the time of significant changes in society, when there is a great fear of loss of control. In these times collective consciousness needs to be reinforced so that society can locate new boundaries. Other examples of moral panics are over witchcrafts, satanic rituals, drugs, handguns, teenage pregnancy, TV violence, Internet and so on.
