Anakin Skywalker s The Revenge Of The Sith
I remember I watched the Revenge of the Sith for the first time in 2005. I grew up watching the
original trilogy with my dad, who has always been a fan of Star Wars. We weren t overly fond of the
prequel series, but he still brought the movie home from Blockbuster and turned it on for all of us to
watch. Anakin Skywalker, the protagonist, speaks to his wife for the first time since he turned over to
the dark side. I don t want to lose you the way I lost my mother. I am becoming more powerful than
any Jedi has ever dreamed of, and I m doing it for you to protect you...Don t you see? We don t have
to run away anymore. I have brought peace to the Republic. I am more powerful than the Chancellor. I
can overthrow him and together you and I can rule ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
He is bitter of his losses, but he also acknowledges the reality of his circumstances. Satan is ultimately
a heroic figure because he is able to bear the weight of impossible pain and suffering while still
moving forward and fighting for what he believes in. He is someone who persists against all odds,
recognizes the risks of his decisions, and he acts anyway. A true hero is not one who is wholly good,
but an individual who is willing to face challenges to get what he deserves. As Satan himself says,
Better to reign in hell than serve in heaven. This acceptance of his conditions and the commitment to

College Students Are Well Known For Being Creative
College students are well known for being creative with ways to make money by creating new
products and services. A Massachusetts college student is facing pressure of getting discipline actions
for listing up his dorm room at Airbnb for renting as a way of making some money. According to the
article Emerson student could face disciplinary action after renting out his dorm room on Airbnb from
Boston.com, Jack Worth, a 19 year old sophomore studying visual and media at Emerson College,
provides his dorm rooms to three renters before he gets caught (Hoover, 2016). The reporter uses both
epideictic and pathos to lure readers attention about the story, but she neither states her opinions over
situation nor focuses on the target audience.
Firstly, Hoover successfully draws attention by using two methods to show two sides of the story. She
opens with pathos by stating the reason that leads Jack Worth to come across the idea of renting out
his room, Living in Boston isn t cheap, Emerson is a fantastic location; there is a high level of interest
of travel in this neighborhood because it s so centrally located, I saw this as a way to make some
money, but also help some people out (para 3). Hoover then uses epideictic by quoting Emerson
College as another side of the situation, The Emerson College Residence Hall policy and the housing
contract that undergraduate residents sign prohibit students from subleasing or renting College
housing units or beds to protect residents

Fooled By Infatuation Summary
(Intro)Comic books have been around since the dawn of man. Mankind has been telling stories
without the use of technology, such as: typewriters, computers, or any paper material. There are cave
paintings around the world that date back thousands of years, which depict cavemen hunting animals
and depictions of animals within the caves. Women have also been included in the paintings not just
men since they also fed their families and hunted to keep them safe. In today s comic books, women
are represented as sexual objects, not as mature, strong, or as smart as men are depicted in the same
stories. Women appear in comics for the simple purpose of flaunting their bodies which boosts sales
and based on the demographics of the target audience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
For example, according to Dana Dutch from the collection of romance stories Romance without Tears,
Learning from the shortfalls and mistakes of a relationship is a salutary experience which will enable
women to do better the next time (9) In one of the short stories Fooled by Infatuation, for instance, a
girl loses her stability because of an obsession with another boy she finds she does not like. The
foolish or flamboyant acts committed by youngsters are a normal part of growing up. The notion is
that it does not matter if you are never caught; it is what you learn from the experience that counts. In
romance comics, the poor girls suffer and suffer; but in Dana Dutchs stories her female protagonist
never suffered, no matter the situation. In her stories, they never had to beg the boy s forgiveness,
either. Not all romance stories show women in daunting situations regarding a boy or trying to fool
around and fall in love. Most writers such as Dutch thought about how there is more to girls falling in
love and going crazy for a boy then going through the typical story of a girl going crazy for a boy and
willing to do anything to win his heart. But it still feels as though these stories became repetitive and
have no new material to show for it. This can influence young readers that falling in love comes with a
price: going crazy for the person you want to be

The Niagara Escarpment
This Niagara Escarpment is very important to humans, animals and plant life. This escarpment is
home to many over 479 species of wildlife including 300 species over birds, 53 mammals, 36 reptiles

This escarpment is considered one of the natural wonders in Canada and a great place for a little
family trip. This allows families to spend time together while exploring one of the oldest and the
largest geological areas. There are several landforms to visit at Niagara Escarpment. Some of these
include, limestone cracks, crevices and Lake Crawford, a rare and unique meromictic lake. A
meromictic lake means that the lake has layers of water that do not intermix. This also means that
whatever goes into the water stays down due to the lack of oxygen underwater in meromictic lakes.
Due to this the lake is not used for water supply. The escarpment is also a great place to learn about its
geological history and to see wildlife, landforms and orchids that are not seen anywhere else. Several
landforms found here include dried out waterfalls, fossils, steep slopes, limestone and dolostone.
Endemic species found in Niagara Escarpment include the Blue Jays, Turkey Vultures and Hooded
warblers. Various orchids that can been seen are the Calypso Orchid , Ram s head Lady slipper and
Alaska Rein Orchid. Its history dates back 430 450 millions years when the area was flooded with a
shallow sea. Rivers and bodies of water would carry sand and take it to the ancient seas. They would
also carry silt and clay creating sediment. At this time organic material rich with lime was
accumulating. During the span of a million years,

Fourth Grade Classroom Analysis
There are several factors that influenced my planning and teaching when creating this lesson segment
for my fourth grade class. There are several factors that I had to consider about my students by
knowing what they are capable of doing and not able to do. In order to consider the academic
development of my students I had to take these factors into consideration: out of the 26 students in the
class, seven students are English language learners, seven proficient English speakers, and six
redesignated English Speakers The majority of these students come from Spanish speaking homes and
are reading below grade level. Given the information I have about my students, my choices of
instructional strategies, materials, and the sequences of the learning tasks reflect the student s
backgrounds, interests, and needs in various ways. Taking all of these factors ... Show more content on

The use of various SDAIE strategies will be incorporated, including but not limited to speaking
slowly, providing individual assistance, and scaffolding. The SDAIE strategies are helpful for all the
students in the class because most of the students come from Spanish speaking homes and they
struggle with the language. In order to provide extra support to ELs, I designed the lesson segment
with lots of group work and pair sharing, which is very helpful for ELs, because it allows them to
participate and become engaged with the content versus having to work alone. These accommodations
for learning and assessment tasks provide students with access to the curriculum and allows the
students to demonstrate their learning through a variety of modalities. The lesson segment was created
with multiple learning styles in mind. Thus, much of the material will be presented orally, visually,
and kinesthetically to help all students understand the material in their own

The Reform And Consumer Protection Act ( Dodd Frank )
Experts are predicting the government will not maintain the current levels of spending resulting in
long term deficit increases.
Regulation:
Financial legislation has always played a crucial role in the safety and soundness of the banking
industry. Since the 2008 financial crisis, mostly caused by loose lending practices and lack of credit
standards, bank regulation pressures have increased considerably. The increased regulatory burden is
playing a toll on community financial institutions who cannot keep up with the overhead cost it takes
to meet the new regulations. It is frustrating community bankers since most new regulation was
written for the too big to fail banks as they were the majority driver of the subpar lending practices. ...

There are a number of existing consumer protection laws that were handed over to the CFPB
including the Truth in Lending Act, Equal Credit Opportunity Act, Fair Credit Reporting Act and the
Fair Debt Collection Practices Act. The CFPB will ensure consumers receive simple and accurate
information with applying for a mortgage, credit card, personal loan and any other financial products
and services. The biggest criticisms about the CFPB are one, they follow the one size fits all rule when
writing regulation and two, have all the control with no one overseeing them. Basel III is another law
implemented that will place additional strain on Banks. Basel III is a set of reform measures,
developed by the Basel Committee on Banking Supervision. It is a framework used to strengthen risk
management and a banks ability to absorb shocks from financial and economic stress. Basel III
implemented new tier 1 capital requirements, new minimum leverage ratio requirements and new
liquidity coverage ratios requirements. Community banks enjoyed a small victory by delaying the
final implementation requirements for Basel III to March 31, 2019.

The Nurse s Role With Patients
The Nurse s Role in Helping Patients Cope with Loss
Laurel Ellzey
Denver School of Nursing
Abstract
Death is a universal part of life. Everyone will eventually experience it. Nurses play an integral role
with their patients when it comes to dealing with bereavement, grief, and mourning. Nurses provide
bereavement care by listening to patients, helping them express their emotions, and involving them in
the entire process. Nurses frequently tend to the emotional needs of their patients, but not their own,
which can result in nurse burn out. Nurses are expected to be resilient when it comes to death, but
when they sweep their emotions under the rug to get on with the day and are not given the resources
needed to grieve successfully, how can they achieve this?
The Nurse s Role with Patients and Loss
Death is a part of life and eventually everyone on this earth will experience it. Nurses play an
important role with bereaved patients. Not only by being there, but also because everyone grieves in
their own way. However, for those experiencing disenfranchised grief, the process may be more
difficult. Mourning the death of a loved one is a natural response to death and Worden s four tasks
allow those to progress through the tasks in any way. Bereavement, grief, and mourning are all
affected by one s culture, religion, and the relationship among deceased, their personality, and how the
person died.

3 Metal Roofs
Overview of 3 Metal Roof Types For Residential Use
If your home needs a brand new roof, you may be researching all of the materials available to you to
narrow it down. While metal can be a popular choice, there are different kinds of metal materials that
have their own pros and cons. Understand the differences so that you can make an informed decision.
Steel Roofing
A common metal material that is available to you is steel. This is because its popularity is often due to
its affordability, while also being a durable material that can withstand flying debris, high winds, and
frozen rain.
Steel roofs can benefit from having a zinc coating applied to them. It helps steel require less
maintenance over the years, since the coating will help the material ... Show more content on

It s cheaper than using copper, but will cost more than using steel. The biggest drawback with
aluminum is that the metal is soft, so it should be avoided in areas that have flying debris or high
winds that cause impact damage to a roof. The material does weigh much less than other metal roofing
materials, so it does tend to be installed faster and easier than copper or steel.
Aluminum will hold up well in climates that have a lot of rain, since the material will not corrode like
other types of metal roofing. You can purchase the material in shingles or sheets, which are usually
painted after they are installed to improve the overall aesthetics of the roofing material. This will
require additional maintenance over the years to give the material another coat of paint.
Copper Roofing
One of the most expensive metal roofing materials will be copper, but many homeowners go with it
because it s unique and beautiful in its appearance on a home. The material is also incredibly durable
with it being hard to damage, and it will not require any maintenance or cleaning after it is installed.
This makes it great for large homes that create difficulties when trying to access the roof.
A unique attribute of copper is how it is a heavy and thick roofing material, and its size won t change
when facing extreme heat in the summer. The material also changes color as it gets older to a green
blue hue, called the patina process, which is an aspect of it that many people like.

Symbolism In The Rocking Horse Winner
Fortune is the enemy of human morality. If not careful, a person who places complete trust in luck can
lose focus on the important things in life. This idea that our lives are governed by an uncontrollable
force consumes us in ways that most people do not come to terms with. D.H. Lawrence uses
compelling imagery in the Rocking Horse Winner to create an insight of dark fortune. He
accomplishes this through the relationship of the mother and her children, the use of the rocking horse,
and the conflict of luck within Paul. Lawrence continually emphasizes the non existent relationship
between the mother and her children. He begins by telling us that the children had been thrust upon
her, and she could not love them . This sets the tone for the rest of the story; a desire for good fortune
makes the children seem like underappreciated burdens. Several times the mother says things to the
children with bitterness in her voice as if they inconvenience her. Only the mother and her children
know of the loveless hard little place in the mother s heart. They read it in each other s eyes . The
simple act of leaving the apathy unspoken creates a sense of despair for both parties. The mother fills
this gap in their lives by becoming obsessed with money and blaming all of their misery on bad luck.
In turn, the children follow her example and become consumed by this belief as well. The desire is so
great that the house came to be haunted by the unspoken phrase: there must be more

Gross Motor Domain Case Study
Out of the five domains that were assessed in the BDI 2 assessment, the area where Aidan performed
the highest and received the highest score was in the Motor domain, where he scored a 104, which
falls into the average range. The motor domain then includes three subdomains gross motor, fine
motor, and perceptual motor. The gross motor domain assesses the child s development of their large
muscles that they use to walk, run, throw, and catch, among other movements and activities. Within
the gross motor domain, Aidan received a subdomain standard score of eleven, which falls in the

Aidan received a standard score of 71, which falls into the mild developmental delay range. This
domain is then grouped into three subdomains; attention and memory, reasoning and academic skills,
and perception and concepts. In the attention and memory subdomain, the child is assessed in their
ability to recognize and attend to various situations around them, and their ability to remember certain
information. In this domain, Aidan received a standard score of 3, which falls into the delayed range,
and is consistent to the developmental age of a one year, nine month child. One of Aidan s strengths in
this area was that he is showed his ability to pay attention during a certain activity for up to three
minutes. He was also able to find an object that was under one of of the two cups being used. One
thing Aidan is still working on is reciting words from a movie or from a book when asked. One other
activity that Aidan did not yet master was pointing to the one hand that had a toy in it. In the second
subdomain, reasoning and academic skills, Aidan received a score of 8, which is in the average range.
This is consistent to the developmental age of 2 years and 6 months. One of Aidan s strengths in this
area was his ability to match similar colors together. Another one of his strengths was that he was able
to stack nesting blocks on top of one another according to their size. Two things Aidan is still working
on is naming his colors and identifying and grouping common objects. The third and last subdomain is
perception and concepts. Aidan received a standard score of 3 in this subdomain, which falls under the
delayed range. This also states that his developmental age is at 2 years and 2 months. Aidan showed
his strengths of matching the same shapes together, building puzzles, and identifying objects that were
familiar to him.

Essay On Oklahoma City Bombing
Boom. That is the sound of hearts falling and shattering with the walls of the Alfred P. Murrah federal
building on April 19, 1995. No one anticipated the chaos that would break loose that morning. At the
time, those who witnessed the tragic event were not aware of the cause. The only thing they knew was
that blood had been spilled, and stained the innocence of mankind. Twenty one years later, the
memory of this disastrous event still burns and aches in the hearts of Oklahomans as well as the
family and friends of the victims. Though cognitive and physical effects of the Oklahoma City
bombing are permanent, humanity s desire to do good and progress greatly overshadows it.

Although like everything in life, people need certain boundaries. When being questioned about the
bombing, Timothy McVeigh would admit that the cause was hatred towards the American
government. He was one of many that that was enraged with the events in Waco, Texas and Ruby
Ridge. The early 1990 s were described to be a time of dramatic upheaval (Clinton). People were
upset, and the easiest thing to do for some was to gather and oppose their own government. But the
sense that Waco and Ruby Ridge were somehow not the fault of those who were advocating violence
and armed to the teeth and prepared to exercise it, but the government that was attempting to enforce
the law. And so it became symbolic (Clinton). They were so busy pointing fingers; they forgot the
beauty of brotherhood and violated their freedoms. Freedom of speech is not bombing a federal
building just because you disagree with their methods. The boundaries set in place by the government
attempt to limit those who corrupt freedom. In events such as the Oklahoma City bombing, blameless
American people faced the fallout of McVeigh s destruction. What was supposed to be an ordinary day
at work turned into a day of misery that left people without a mother, a father, a son, or even a

A single sperm cell going through the ejaculation process would first have to meet the age requirement
in order for it to be ejected out of the epididymus. Once rendered to be mature enough, the sperm will
wait in the vas deferens where the seminal vesicles will secrete fructose rich fluid till an orgasm
occurs in which the spermatozoa will be released. During an erection, the sperm will be pushed

The male reproductive system like any other system must have hormones aiding its several processes
in order for it to function well. In this system, male sex hormones are also known as androgens with
testosterone being the one most commonly known. Testosterone is only produced two times in a male
s life with it being secreted continuously and consistently once puberty begins in order to enable the
reproductive function. This hormone is responsible for the secondary sex characteristics of males that
develop during the course of puberty and providing negative feedback to the hypothalamus and
anterior pituitary. The production of testosterone is roused by the luteinizing hormone (LH)
stimulating Leydig cells. Meanwhile the follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) is responsible for
stimulating Sertoli cells to produce androgen binding protein (ABP), thereby stimulating
spermatogenesis. (mcb.berkeley.edu) In the course of puberty, males develops certain sex
characteristics that are then divided into either primary or secondary sex characteristics. The primary
sex characteristics include those that are directly involved in reproduction such as the enlargement of
the testes as well the production of spermatozoa. In males, prior to the first ejaculation is spermarche,
or the first production of sperm. This early production of sperm is often fraught with genetic
imperfections and the male may also be infertile for a short time. (Devin

7 Games that Should Be on Nintendo Switch
While the initial hype around the Nintendo Switch has fallen away, there are still many of us who
enjoy this neat little console. It is actually a rather portable device and it does make hanging out with
friends while playing games an enjoyable experience well, as long as you keep winning! Now, while
there are some great games you can play on the console yes, we re talking about Zelda you still have
plenty of titles out there that are not on it. A number of these gaming titles would also make great
Switch games.
Here are the seven games that should be on Nintendo Switch.

Now, unlike some of the other titles on the list this one might be a rather hopeful edition rumours
suggest the trilogy might be coming out on Nintendo Switch.
Star Fox Adventures 2
Another extremely fun game to play on the Nintendo Switch console would be Star Fox. The ability to
move around with your console and to do it more than with the Wii U would make flying rocket
powered mopeds a lot of fun. Not to mention that we ve not been treated with a proper Star Fox game
for years, even though the last game was highly acclaimed. The problem with seeing Star Fox pop up
on Switch might be the fact that the gaming company behind it, Rare, has been bought by Xbox. But
w can still hope.
South Park: The Stick of Truth
The Nintendo Switch also requires quite a bit of fun action. We don t want gaming to just be serious
business and to give us some laughter, we all rely on South Park. As the new game in the franchise is
coming out hopefully sooner rather than later the franchise could also announce it will find it s way on
Twitch. If we had to pick an old South Park game, the Stick of Truth would certainly be on the cards.
Metroid Prime 4
This anticipated title is coming to Nintendo but there has been no official announcement that it would
be making its way on Switch. But it really should, as it is one of the best sci fi serious out there and
that s saying a lot. The previous versions have had great mechanics in

African American And Other Ethnic Groups Incarcerated...
Introduction
When we hear the words justice system we should be thinking about fairness, justice, honesty,
righteousness. However, contrary to what comes to mind in reality the justice system is rife with
inequality, injustice, corruption and dishonestly. The definition for institutional inequality is the
existence of unequal opportunities and rewards for different social positions or statuses within a group
of society (about.com) and this is what people of color are facing on a daily basis. On this paper
examined the research about the ratio of African American and other ethnic groups incarcerated versus
whites, also how this affects the community, why such a high percentage of African Americans ages
25 29 are incarcerated and the racial disparities that exist in the justice system. Historically African
Americans have been discriminated against in the United States and a system of race based hierarchy
still exists. The lower class includes the Blacks and Hispanic population and other so called
minorities. The upper class includes the white population also called majority, the higher social
position of white the population allows for a greater advantage when it comes to the writing and
application of laws that will apply to the majority and minority population.
II. What is Racial Disparity?
Racial disparity in the criminal justice system exists when the proportion of a racial or ethnic group
within the control of the system is greater than the proportion of such

War s Effect On American Children In America
Children were largely effected by the war and they were to grow up fast to cope with their
surroundings. Even though the war was not fought on American soil, American children were still
affected as their fathers and brothers left to go fight, and as their mothers were off to go to work in a
factory. The children were left with new responsibilities that many had never experienced before the
war. Many were to care for their siblings and take on more household chores. Children in America
were very a lot fortunate than other children across the Atlantic. In Britain, children had to grow up
fast and become an adult. As technology advancements grew more dangerous Britain worried that
there mainland would be at threat for aerial bombings due to this

Encounters with Angels in the Bible Essay
The Bible contains many stories of people having an encounter with angels. An encounter alludes to
an unexpected meeting. The word angel is a transliteration from the Hebrew word mal ak in the Old
Testament (Strong s H4397) and the Greek word angelos in the New Testament (Strong s G32). Both
words mean messenger and describes one who executes the plan and will of the person whom they
serve.
God, the Creator of all things in heaven and on the earth both the visible and invisible, created an
innumerable quantity of angels. The angels were designed by Him for His glory.
For it was in Him that all things were created, in heaven and on earth, things seen and things unseen,
whether thrones, dominions, rulers, or ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Satan and a third of the angels were kicked out of heaven. The second heaven is the stellar realm of
stars and heaven. The third heaven is beyond the telescope. Some holy angels abide on earth to
minister to mankind for the work of redemption. In the Old Testament, Jacob dreamed of a ladder
between heaven and earth where he saw angels ascending and descending. The ascending and
descending on the ladder is an affirmation and confirmation of the covenant that God made with
Abraham. God said He will be with Jacob until He fulfills the Abrahamic Covenant.
And behold, I am with you and will keep (watch over you with care, take notice of) you wherever you
may go, and I will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done all of which I
have told you. (Genesis 28:15, AMP)
In the New Testament, Jesus informed Nathaniel that angels ascend and descend upon the Son of Man.
(John 1:51) Jesus reference to Jacob s dream advocates Him as the Messiah, the Way, the Truth and
the Life; no one can enter into heaven except by Him. (John 14:6) The fulfillment of God s covenant
is indicative of Jesus dying on the cross and His resurrection. The crucified and risen Jesus Christ is
the object of mankind s faith. And the pinnacle of faith is to believe in Jesus without seeing Him.
Jesus said to him, Because you have seen Me, Thomas, do you now believe (trust, have faith)?

Charles Darwin s Theory Of Evolution
Evolution is the process new species or populations of living things develop from preexisting forms
through successive generations. Some people believe in evolution and some do not. Scientists have
found many ways to determine the way that a species can evolve over time. Charles Darwin is just one
of these scientists. He came up with a theory that explains how species evolve and change. He
believed that species change by a process called natural selection. Charles Darwin s theory of
evolution by natural selection can explain the way that a species can evolve and change over time.
Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in the town of Shrewsbury, England. He had five older
siblings and came from a long line of scientists. His father was a ... Show more content on

This is how he came up with his theory of natural selection. Darwin s theory of evolution by natural
selection basically means that the strong survive. Only the strongest in a species will be able to adapt
to environmental changes, therefore they will be the ones that will evolve. The others will die because
they cannot adapt. Natural selection can cause species to change in many ways. It can cause them to
change in size and even color. It can affect eating and mating habits as well. It can change where they
choose to live and when they choose to migrate. Darwin settled an argument when he made his theory
of evolution by natural selection. He settled the argument that scientists had been having for many
years. He figured out a way to understand how evolution works when he created his theory.
In November of 1859, Darwin published a book that is considered to be one of his best works titled
On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. This book explains his theory of natural
selection. Many believe that this book is one of the most important ever written, and it has received a
lot of recognition in the biology department. It thoroughly explains Darwin s theory and has led to
many advancements in natural science. Scientists use it to better understand the way that evolution
works.
Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection has four main parts. The first part of the theory is
that more individuals are produced each year than can

Examples Of View Of Paul In Tangerine
The main point of this story, Tangerine, by Edward Bloor, is how the people who are looked down
upon see from different points of view. An example of this is the main character, Paul, who is
considered blind by many and is often looked down upon in society, however, he often sees what
others do not and has excessive knowledge of the world around him. Even though he sees everything,
he does not say what he knows and others do not ask him, for they believe he has no knowledge of the
problems. After moving to Tangerine, he sees his brother doing horrible things and his parents none
the wiser. His friend suffers at the hands of his brother and is eventually killed, and afterwards, Paul
feels much guilt for the words unsaid. Since Paul is often looked down upon, he notices facts and
clues society does not, however he fears saying something, in which causes his friend to be murdered.

It is as if Paul lives in the sun and knowledge of the world, baring that burden while others in society
live in darkness with slight sliver of light from the moon believing they know the world to its full
extent when in reality they are blind and in the dark. This affects Paul since he possess ideas from
another point of view that others have no clue about. This is important because without the knowledge
that Paul posses, he would be like his none the wiser parents, which would affect the story a great
deal. For example, on page 152, Paul tells his friend, Don t do this. Don t come in here with attitude.
Paul knows how to adapt to the places around him and knows that by accepting the facts and the brunt
of the blow, they will accept him begin to

The Role Of Perfectionism In Eating Disorders
When perfectionist behaviour can be considered as a state that is under conscious control, it can be
deemed as merely a healthy desire to excel (Eusanio, Thomson, and Jaque, 2014). However, if
perfectionism is a personality trait, it cannot be consciously controlled and has been proven to show
positive correlations with mental illness such as anxiety and depression (Enns and Cox, 2002, cited in
Stoeber, Otto, and Dalbert, 2009b). Self oriented perfectionism in dancers and a fear of failure can
lead to injury, depression, and other psychological disorders such as anxiety and possible eating
disorders (Eusanio, Thomson, and Jaque, 2014).
Perfectionism in dancers tends to be considered a common personality type, as they are often inclined

The results of the study displayed no significant effect of injury upon self esteem however, they state
this may be due to the lack of severely injured dancers in the study. Therefore, the result may have
been different if there were more dancers involved in the research suffering from long term injuries.
Additionally, Nordin Bates, et al., (2011) may have received different results had state self esteem
been measured rather than trait self esteem, which is considered as generally being more stable

Black Holes Informative Speech
Have you ever heard of something getting sucked up in a black hole? Did it ever cross your mind as to
what a black hole actually was? Well, a black hole is a rather large star that underwent a supernova
explosion and since there was no gravity it collapsed in on itself. It is a big hole of nothingness that
stays in outer space but does not suck up everything. Now lets get into more of the facts about black
holes.
As previously stated, what does one think when they hear the words black hole? A giant hole that is
pitch black and sucks anything and everything up inside of it perhaps? Maybe even a something along
the lines of a vortex or black whirlpool type thing that destroys everything. A black hole is similar to
the thoughts above, but more ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
There are three main types of black holes, stellar, supermassive, and miniature, or primordial ones.
Stellar black holes are enormous stars that have run out of nuclear fuel, which then creates an
unsteady situation. The outer layers then proceed to explode in a supernova leaving the middle to
implode essentially creating a black hole if the star was large enough. Said to be the collapse of a
compact cluster of stars, supermassive black holes are revealed to astronomers by rapid moving gas
jets that point towards the massive holes typically in the center of galaxies. The Space Telescope
Science Institution (STSCI) even says that there might be one in the center of our own galaxy, the
Milky Way. They also say that the constellation Sagittarius, in the summer, is the direction of the
center of our galaxy if one was to look at it. When substances cross the event horizon of the black hole
it increases the mass of it, which expands the horizon, this means it is larger and can grab things
farther away. Lastly, is the mini black holes that the STSCI and along with various theories believe
might have been formed in the early universe, the Big Bang, which is the moment the universe was
believed to be created. The event horizons of these black holes are quite small, the width of an atomic
particle. They can only hold up to the amount of matter of Mt. Everest. The formation of these little
black holes are from the compression of matter caused by the

Premarital Sex Reflection Paper
Before this class I thought about the topics we covered in a broad sense and probably not very often.
After taking this class I was forced to look deeper into each topic, and while I disagree with some
things, I am glad I will be able to hold a conversation about why I disagree. I am born and raised
Catholic so I know what view I am supposed to have on each topic, but I d catch myself feeling guilty
because my views were more often than not slightly different than the Church s teachings. I needed to
remind myself that it is okay I have a different opinion, as long as I accept the Church s opinion as
well. Of the topics we talked about, I found cohabitation as the most important/interesting and I found
contraception as the most controversial. In this paper I will focus on contraception in premarital sex
which can also be happening in cohabiting relationships, so it in a way all connects. I have been dating
my boyfriend Jarod for almost six and a half years now and he recently asked me where I was going to
live after I was done with college. He was not so subtly trying to ask me what my opinion would be on
us living together. My first thought was no I want to wait until I get married and I know that is what
my parents want as well, but as I thought about it, it really began to make sense why he would ask. It
is not cheap to live on your own, and while I would just continue living at my parents, his parents are
ready for him to move out. I told him maybe if we were engaged

How Was Life In The North Different From The South
How was Life in the North Different from the South
Regarding the world in the 1800 s, life in the North was very different then life in the South. There are
many areas that prove this statement to be true. Some differences include the geography, the economy,
and society. The North and the South both have some things in common. Other than that, they are
opposites when it comes to everyday life.
One noticeable difference between the North and the South is geography. In section two it states that
the North experiences all four seasons, showing that the climate patterns can vary. According to
section two, the book states that there are different places that have different physical characteristics.
For example, New England has a lot of bays, Boston has many seaports because they are near water
sources, and Pennsylvania has rich soil. The South however, only had one weather pattern. In section
three the book states that the South has long and harsh Summers and short Winters, which shows that
the South really only had two seasons: Summer and Winter. Obviously, Summer and Winter are polar
opposites. Similarly, in section three the book states that there is a lot of land that is covered in
marshes which ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The two places have opposites economies. In section five the author states that the North developed
machines that had interchangeable parts. This is important because instead of having to change the
whole entire machine, they can just change parts. Also in section five the book states that the
Industrial Revolution changed the work of men to the work of machines. For example, they developed
the cotton gin, which does the work of 50 people. As for the South, they based their economy on
agriculture. In section four the book states that they only owned small plantations. This is very
different from the North because they had huge factories while the South only had small

A Case Study With Sony On Penetration Pricing As Global Pricing Strategy Meaning of Penetration
Pricing This is a marketing strategy used by firms to attract customers to a new product or service.
Penetration pricing is the practice of offering a low price for a new product or service during its initial
offering in order to attract customers away from competitors. The reasoning behind this marketing
strategy is that customers will buy and become aware of the new product due to its lower price in the
marketplace relative to rivals. It can often increase both market share and sales volume. Additionally,
the high sales volume can also lead to lower production costs and higher inventory turnover, both of

Fourth Grade Teacher Research Paper
My desire to teach really derives from those who really connected me with the love for educating

the better in my life and help others do the same. For she turned out to be one of my best friends who
would watch out and made sure to tell me when something was not quite right with me. The
connection I had with her made me feel like I was a part of her family, and could do anything with her

my senior year English teacher. Mrs. Cox had an almost overwhelming passion for teaching. She

Having a teenage curfew is ineffective and useless. Many people argue that the curfews are necessary
because it will keep young people out of trouble. They also say that teenagers are more likely to get in
trouble late than they would during daylight. Teens are looked at as the age group that causes the most
trouble, and society targets them when it comes to matter for crime, however many people believe that
teens are responsible for a large percentage of crimes and that having a curfew in effect will help
lower crime rates. I disagree with this because I don t think teenagers should be forced to follow a

Teen curfews discriminate against young minorities and violate the rights of minors, also I think that
teen curfews confine all young teens based on actions of a small percentage of our population.
Curfews are often needed to prevent teens from getting into trouble late at night and many people
argue if parents should be held responsible for this. I understand many parents set up rules and other
restrictions for their teens to follow, but I don t think parents should take the liability on what their
child is doing. These rules are usually given in addition to control, protect, and teach their teen in
order for them to know what s right from wrong. In other states, parents are held responsible for their
child s actions. If they let their children out past midnight, they could be fined up to $75 for the first
offense. The only way minors could stay out after midnight is if they are accompanied by a parent or
guardian over twenty one years old. Many public places such as the mall have banned children from
hanging out after a certain time and I think the problem with this is where will it send the children.? If

John Grisham s, Bleachers conveys the theme, forgiveness can help to heal wounds, as Coach Rake s

Use and Abuse of Benzodiazepines
Use and abuse of Benzodiazepines
Introduction
Sedative hypnotics, including benzodiazepines, are a group of drugs used to treat the symptoms of
anxiety, panic disorders, and insomnia.
Benzodiazepines are one of the most prescribed drugs which have abuse potential.
There must be special attention toward the patient s addiction history before these agents are
prescribed. An understanding of the toxicity and side effects of benzodiazepines, abuse patterns and
alternative anxiolytic and hypnotic agents may help clinicians to be safe from issues of medico legal
case.
Mechanism of action
It acts by following ways
Benzodiazepine receptors are linked mainly to γ amino butyric acid (GABA) receptors, which
sensitize benzodiazepine receptors to the neurotransmitter GABA, the most prominent inhibitory
neurotransmitter in the central nervous system.
Enhance the affinity of the recognition site for GABA by inducing conformational changes that make
GABA binding more efficacious.
Activation of the benzodiazepine GABA chloride ionophor complex is responsible for producing the
therapeutic anxiolytic effects of benzodiazepines and for mediating many of the side effects and,
possibly, dependence and withdrawal from these drugs.
Clinical use
Following are the use of benzodiazepines
Amnesia before or after surgery

When a person uses another to gain money, power or goods, it is self centered. These television shows
are based around bringing together two people who have never met in the past, based on the fact that
one of the two individuals have money. Choosing to be in a relationship on the basis that the later has
money will lead to unhappiness. With no love and only money keeping the two connected, in time
things will become difficult. (Poniewozik) Countless couples who participate in these television shows

Importance Of Apple Trademarks And Patents
1 Why are trademarks and Patents so important to a company like Apple? What benefits do they
provide? What kind of role did Apple patents play in its case against Samsung?
Trademarks and Patents are important to big companies like Apple because the trademark gives them
the right to decide who and who cannot use their patented invention. This benefits them because if
they were not to have the trademark, anyone could recreate their product without the company s
consent and make money off of the product and they can sue other companies with their patent. People
could resell Apples products in mass amounts legally without a patent. Apple s patent protected their
creative and inventive rights on their product. Against Samsung, it protected Apples creative rights
over their product, the Iphone. After Apple released their new Iphone, Samsung recreated it and
therefore they put themselves at risk of litigation. The Trademark law allowed Apple to sue both the
company and the distributors of the product because of recall.
2 How is Apple changing the field of Trademark protection? What is a non traditional trademark?
Why is Apple in pursuit of such trademark?
Apple is changing the field of Trademark protection because of the new exceptions involved in
Trademark protections. Now companies can defend their products patent for the shape and feel of it.

Characterization in Pam Houston s A Blizzard Under Blue Sky
Houston s A Blizzard Under Blue Sky explores and exhibits the idea of psycho physical experience of
being in the natural world to heal one s psychological and emotional ailments through its invigorating
contact. The narrative, by drawing on the theme of depression, relates how the narrator, seeing
everything in [her] life...uncertain (Houston 185), goes winter camping alone in the high country;
undergoes a chilling near death experience; and gleefully returns reinvigorated with the memory of joy
, and hopefulness (188). Though highly personalized in the narrative, the narrator s experience of
depression is a common phenomenon and, Houston, in this sense, seems to ... Show more content on

This all seems quite characteristic of a depressed mind to loathe what is around and be enchanted by
the mystic power of solitude away from the petty human world. While the protagonist decides on
winter camping despite the knowledge of the unforgiving freezing temperature there, the warning of
her housemate and disaster tales of winter camping fatalities (187), one is sceptic if she has made up
her mind out of love for nature.
Yet, the detailing of the protagonist s expedition leaves one wishing for a similar adventure. The
narrator s company of her two best friends, her dogs: Jackson and Hailey, seems to carry a special
significance for her. Their personification and the treatment as developing characters must have some
symbolic representation of the protagonist s personality that has been split now. The male figure
Jackson is an oversized sheepdog and something else that is tireless, adventurous and leader like while
the female figure Hailey is not so graceful , is in constant indecision as she runs and stays behind the
[protagonist] as they ski (185). While Jackson encourages the narrator to ski harder, go faster, climb
higher , she has to mediate between him and reluctant, groaning Hailey to find an agreement. In a
symbolic level, perhaps, Houston wants the readers to see the protagonist as an embodiment of three
distinct dispositions: conscience, optimism and depression. While the protagonist herself represents
her conscience, this

Liberal Iraq War
On September 11, 2001, the world witnessed deadly, psychologically disruptive, and economically
devastating terrorist attacks organized and funded by Al Qaeda against New York and Washington,
D.C. This event eventually led to the 2003 invasion of Iraq.
There are many ways in which the Iraq war and its aftermath support elements of liberalism. Liberals
posit that aggression and war cannot be avoided but can be moderated, if not eliminated, through a
collective action. They add that institutions are effective in managing self interests thereby making
perpetual peace and economic development a possibility. Pertinent elements of liberal IR theory to be
discussed are the following: value of multilateral approach, aspect of humanitarian intervention,
spread of democracy, and the notion of benign liberal empire.
International partnership and multilateral approach to both creating chaos and ensuring security were
evident in this historical case. The 9/11 attack, directed by Osama bin Laden, set into ... Show more

The example of a free Iraq would accordingly inspire other peoples of the region to the belief that
democracy was not just a Western invention but a universal human right. This is a profoundly liberal
argument adopted by the Bush administration. In the words of Ikenberry (2004), if the values of
democracy and the rule of law are established in troubled countries around the world, security threats
would cease bringing in lasting peace liberals view highly of.
In conclusion, the relationship between the liberalist theory and the global war on terrorism along with
the subsequent Iraq invasion illustrated the importance liberals place on universal interdependence
along with the promotion of perpetual peace as a solution to global security and, ideally as it would
follow, economic

Insanity of War in Slaughterhouse Five
Slaughterhouse Five, by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., is the tale of a gawky World War II veteran/soldier, Billy
Pilgrim. His wartime experiences and their effects lead him to the ultimate conclusion that war is
unexplainable. To portray this effectively, Vonnegut presents the story in two dimensions: historical
and science fiction. The irrationality of war is emphasized in each dimension by contrasts in its comic
and tragic elements. The historical seriousness of the Battle of the Bulge and the bombing of Dresden
are contrasted by many ironies and dark humor; the fantastical, science fiction type place of
Tralfamadore is, in truth, an outlet for Vonnegut to show his incredibly serious fatalistic views. The
surprising variations of the seriousness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
One soldier dies from the dry heaves after being forced to work in a rotting corpse mine. Ironically,
this man has survived the bombing of Dresden, yet dies from the smell of others who died in the
bombing. Eventually, the corpse mines are closed because of the horrendous conditions, and the war
ends. The book ends as Billy is walking out of the slaughterhouse after gaining his freedom and he
notices is that, Birds were talking. One bird said to Billy Pilgrim, Poo tee weet? The bird s cameo in
the story reinforces the idea that there is nothing to say about an unnecessary massacre as in Dresden,
and that war is illogical, like the bird s words. This is ironic, since the theme of the novel, which
should be the clearest message derived from the story, is summed up in the incoherent words of a bird.
All these incidences of irony show senselessness and coincidence, with undertones of dark humor. [In
questioning why the incidences of the novel occur, it is impossible to give a logical explanation.] This
parallels the idea that war is nonsense, senseless, full of coincidence, and is unexplainable. As a result
of the trauma of Billy s war experience, he faces an inability to deal with reality later in his life. The
fantastical Tralfamadore is a planet where Billy escapes to when he feels life s stresses; however mad
Billy seems to have become, Tralfamadore doubles to reveal Vonnegut s earnest fatalistic views.
Tralfamadore is the

Stonehenge Vs. Easter Island
Stonehenge vs. Easter Island Stonehenge and Easter Island are two very old and interesting mysteries
and monuments of the world. Stonehenge is outside of Salisbury, England and is consists of lots of
grass and giant, grey stones. This site was made between the times of 1520 B.C.E 3000 B.C.E. There
are many reasons why people think Stonehenge was built. Stonehenge was built it using precise stages
of construction. Archaeologists said it could have been used for rituals, traditions or even used as a
burial site. Easter Island, itself is off the coast of Chile. The Easter Island statues or Moai as called on
the Island are big black rocks with long slim faces. The statues seemed to have been used in many
different ways such as rituals, worshipping and traditions. While the Easter Island statues were used
for worshipping and were carved and then moved, Stonehenge may have been used as a burial site or
for ritualistic traditions and was made in different stages in one place. Stonehenge is complex yet,
simple place. The name Stonehenge comes from the name Stonehengen meaning stone hanging or
gallows. Stonehenge was believed to have been created during 3000 1520 B.C.E. This was during the
Neolithic period and Bronze age. The people who created Stonehenge were very advanced. By the
time came to make Stonehenge the Mesolithic and Neolithic people already found a spot that was
special in someway to them and started constructing. Stonehenge was built in six different

Akbar Research Paper
The Mughal dynasty was established by a man named Babur who ruled over the state of Hindustan
(India). As a youth, Babur, a prince of the house of Timur, was unable to maintain his sovereignty over
the small Central Asian state bequeathed to him by his father (Source?). Instead, he turned his
attention to the southeast, where he occupied Kabul in 1504, and almost immediately embarked on his
conquest of India (Source?). By 1527, Babur had defeated both the forces of the Lodi sultan and those
of the Hindu confederacy (Source?). However, at the time of his death, in 1530, he had not yet
transformed his territorial acquisitions into an empire (Source?). This task was left to his son
Humayun, who lacked the military genius of his father and soon forfeited the Mughal foothold in
India (Source?). Only through Persian military intervention did he manage to regain the capital cities
of Agra and Delhi in 1555; however, Humayun s son Akbar was credited with the real foundation of
the Mughal Empire (Source?).
During his reign from 1556 to 1605, Akbar established dominion over northern and central India, as
far east as Bengal. He secured the northwestern frontier, which served as a gateway to India for so
many previous invasions. Akbar s most important territorial gain was the sultanate of Gujarat, in the
west, which provided the Mughal empire with enormous wealth from its commercial centers, and
access to the Arabian Sea. This presented an opportunity for lucrative trade with both

Personal Narrative-It s On The Road
On the road again for the third time in a month. In the middle of the hottest month, we were in a car.
Only eight hours away from Tennessee we got pulled over by not just one cop but three cops for
speeding. We sat there for at least two hours. Since we were from Franklinton, Louisiana it took a very
long time. So, we finally got to leave the side of the road. We sat there so long it got extremely hot. So
we all decide to go swimming. So as all eighteen of us went swimming we all started laughing for
some odd reason. Little did we know that the pool was filled with some crazy stuff, it took all but two
minutes to figure out what it was, and it was some type of chemical that made you laugh hysterically!
Later that week we went to Dollywood

Certainty and Flexibility in Judicial Precedent
It is often believed that the relationship between certainty and flexibility in judicial precedent has
struck a fine line between being necessary and being precarious. The problem is that these two
concepts of judicial precedent are seen as working against each other and not in tandem. There is
proof, however, that as contrasting as they are on the surface they are actually working together to
achieve one common goal.
Judicial precedent in its broad definition is the process by which judges follow previously decided
cases to aid in their decision providing that the facts are sufficiently similar. The doctrine of judicial
precedent seeks to provide consistency and predictability in law by virtue of the application of the
principle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Obiter dictums are not binding as they do not speak directly to the matter before the court, they do
however still prove useful in legal practice as they can be used as persuasive authority. Judicial
precedent as a whole is the way in which English law provides and maintains consistency and
predictability. This assumption of consistency and predictability through judicial precedent allows the
law to exude a sense of certainty, fairness and by extension some amount of flexibility; but the
question is, how can something which is consistent and predictable to such a degree that it is
considered certain exhibit flexibility? After all one would think that in order to be consistent and
predictable there must be rigidity involved.
Before we can delve into the relationship between certainty and flexibility in judicial precedent, each
element must be explored individually. Unlike legislation and statue which most times speak to
hypothetical situations, judicial precedent is a response to real situation and as such there is a
foundation of pragmatism which holds the principle together. As it relates to certainty, the law is
established in such a way that it is possible to predict what a decision will be and plan accordingly.
There is a sense of security in this element of judicial precedence because once a legal rule has been
established it is binding and cannot changed by a later or lower court, individuals can therefore adjust
their behavior with regard to the legal rule.

The Tweed Ring Scandal
There were many people that were involved in the Tweed Ring scandal, but William Boss Tweed and
Thomas Nast were the most important. William Boss Tweed started his journey to power in the 1940s
as a volunteer fire fighter.
In 1852 1853 he served as an alderman and he worked his way all the way up to the United States
House of Representatives in 1853 1855. State and local affairs were his major concern and he
remained active in Tammany Hall, which was the Democratic organizational force in New York. A
small group of men who controlled New York City s finances were gathered by Tweed. They
dispensed jobs and contracts in return for political support and bribes. The amount of money that was
stolen was never confirmed, but we do know

I grew up watching the original trilogy with my dad, who has always been a fan of Star Wars. We weren t overly fond of the prequel series, but he still brought the movie home from Blockbuster and turned it on for all of us to watch. Anakin Skywalker, the protagonist, speaks to his wife for the first time since he turned over to the dark side. I don t want to lose you the way I lost my mother. A Massachusetts college student is facing pressure of getting discipline actions for listing up his dorm room at Airbnb for renting as a way of making some money. According to the article Emerson student could face disciplinary action after renting out his dorm room on Airbnb from Boston.com, Jack Worth, a 19 year old sophomore studying visual and media at Emerson College, provides his dorm rooms to three renters before he gets caught (Hoover, 2016). The reporter uses both epideictic and pathos to lure readers attention about the story, but she neither states her opinions over situation nor focuses on the target audience. Firstly, Hoover successfully draws attention by using two methods to show two sides of the story. She opens with pathos by stating the reason that leads Jack Worth to come across the idea of renting out his room, Living in Boston isn t cheap, Emerson is a fantastic location; there is a high level of interest of travel in this neighborhood because it s so centrally located, I saw this as a way to make some money, but also help some people out (para 3). • 4. Fooled By Infatuation Summary (Intro)Comic books have been around since the dawn of man. Mankind has been telling stories without the use of technology, such as: typewriters, computers, or any paper material. There are cave paintings around the world that date back thousands of years, which depict cavemen hunting animals and depictions of animals within the caves. Women have also been included in the paintings not just men since they also fed their families and hunted to keep them safe. In today s comic books, women are represented as sexual objects, not as mature, strong, or as smart as men are depicted in the same stories. Women appear in comics for the simple purpose of flaunting their bodies which boosts sales and based on the demographics of the target audience ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... For example, according to Dana Dutch from the collection of romance stories Romance without Tears, Learning from the shortfalls and mistakes of a relationship is a salutary experience which will enable women to do better the next time (9) In one of the short stories Fooled by Infatuation, for instance, a girl loses her stability because of an obsession with another boy she finds she does not like. The foolish or flamboyant acts committed by youngsters are a normal part of growing up. The notion is that it does not matter if you are never caught; it is what you learn from the experience that counts. In romance comics, the poor girls suffer and suffer; but in Dana Dutchs stories her female protagonist never suffered, no matter the situation. In her stories, they never had to beg the boy s forgiveness, either. Not all romance stories show women in daunting situations regarding a boy or trying to fool around and fall in love. Most writers such as Dutch thought about how there is more to girls falling in love and going crazy for a boy then going through the typical story of a girl going crazy for a boy and willing to do anything to win his heart. But it still feels as though these stories became repetitive and have no new material to show for it. This can influence young readers that falling in love comes with a price: going crazy for the person you want to be ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Everyone will eventually experience it. Nurses play an integral role with their patients when it comes to dealing with bereavement, grief, and mourning. Nurses frequently tend to the emotional needs of their patients, but not their own, which can result in nurse burn out. The biggest drawback with aluminum is that the metal is soft, so it should be avoided in areas that have flying debris or high winds that cause impact damage to a roof. The material does weigh much less than other metal roofing materials, so it does tend to be installed faster and easier than copper or steel. Aluminum will hold up well in climates that have a lot of rain, since the material will not corrode like other types of metal roofing. You can purchase the material in shingles or sheets, which are usually painted after they are installed to improve the overall aesthetics of the roofing material. This will require additional maintenance over the years to give the material another coat of paint. Copper Roofing One of the most expensive metal roofing materials will be copper, but many homeowners go with it because it s unique and beautiful in its appearance on a home. The material is also incredibly durable with it being hard to damage, and it will not require any maintenance or cleaning after it is installed. This makes it great for large homes that create difficulties when trying to access the roof. A unique attribute of copper is how it is a heavy and thick roofing material, and its size won t change when facing extreme heat in the summer. • 11. Symbolism In The Rocking Horse Winner Fortune is the enemy of human morality. If not careful, a person who places complete trust in luck can lose focus on the important things in life. This idea that our lives are governed by an uncontrollable force consumes us in ways that most people do not come to terms with. D.H. Lawrence uses compelling imagery in the Rocking Horse Winner to create an insight of dark fortune. He accomplishes this through the relationship of the mother and her children, the use of the rocking horse, and the conflict of luck within Paul. Lawrence continually emphasizes the non existent relationship between the mother and her children. He begins by telling us that the children had been thrust upon her, and she could not love them . This sets the tone for the rest of the story; a desire for good fortune makes the children seem like underappreciated burdens. Several times the mother says things to the children with bitterness in her voice as if they inconvenience her. Only the mother and her children know of the loveless hard little place in the mother s heart. They read it in each other s eyes . The simple act of leaving the apathy unspoken creates a sense of despair for both parties. The mother fills this gap in their lives by becoming obsessed with money and blaming all of their misery on bad luck. In turn, the children follow her example and become consumed by this belief as well. The desire is so great that the house came to be haunted by the unspoken phrase: there must be more ... People were upset, and the easiest thing to do for some was to gather and oppose their own government. But the sense that Waco and Ruby Ridge were somehow not the fault of those who were advocating violence and armed to the teeth and prepared to exercise it, but the government that was attempting to enforce the law. • 21. Encounters with Angels in the Bible Essay The Bible contains many stories of people having an encounter with angels. An encounter alludes to an unexpected meeting. The word angel is a transliteration from the Hebrew word mal ak in the Old Testament (Strong s H4397) and the Greek word angelos in the New Testament (Strong s G32). Both words mean messenger and describes one who executes the plan and will of the person whom they serve. God, the Creator of all things in heaven and on the earth both the visible and invisible, created an innumerable quantity of angels. The angels were designed by Him for His glory. Satan and a third of the angels were kicked out of heaven. The second heaven is the stellar realm of stars and heaven. The third heaven is beyond the telescope. Some holy angels abide on earth to minister to mankind for the work of redemption. In the Old Testament, Jacob dreamed of a ladder between heaven and earth where he saw angels ascending and descending. The ascending and descending on the ladder is an affirmation and confirmation of the covenant that God made with Abraham. God said He will be with Jacob until He fulfills the Abrahamic Covenant. And behold, I am with you and will keep (watch over you with care, take notice of) you wherever you may go, and I will bring you back to this land; for I will not leave you until I have done all of which I have told you. (Genesis 28:15, AMP) In the New Testament, Jesus informed Nathaniel that angels ascend and descend upon the Son of Man. (John 1:51) Jesus reference to Jacob s dream advocates Him as the Messiah, the Way, the Truth and the Life; no one can enter into heaven except by Him. (John 14:6) The fulfillment of God s covenant is indicative of Jesus dying on the cross and His resurrection. The crucified and risen Jesus Christ is the object of mankind s faith. Some people believe in evolution and some do not. Scientists have found many ways to determine the way that a species can evolve over time. Charles Darwin is just one of these scientists. He came up with a theory that explains how species evolve and change. He believed that species change by a process called natural selection. Charles Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection can explain the way that a species can evolve and change over time. Darwin was born on February 12, 1809 in the town of Shrewsbury, England. Darwin s theory of evolution by natural selection basically means that the strong survive. Only the strongest in a species will be able to adapt to environmental changes, therefore they will be the ones that will evolve. The others will die because they cannot adapt. Natural selection can cause species to change in many ways. It can cause them to change in size and even color. It can affect eating and mating habits as well. It can change where they choose to live and when they choose to migrate. Darwin settled an argument when he made his theory of evolution by natural selection. He settled the argument that scientists had been having for many years. He figured out a way to understand how evolution works when he created his theory. In November of 1859, Darwin published a book that is considered to be one of his best works titled On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection. This book explains his theory of natural selection. Many believe that this book is one of the most important ever written, and it has received a lot of recognition in the biology department. It thoroughly explains Darwin s theory and has led to many advancements in natural science. Scientists use it to better understand the way that evolution works. • 23. Examples Of View Of Paul In Tangerine The main point of this story, Tangerine, by Edward Bloor, is how the people who are looked down upon see from different points of view. An example of this is the main character, Paul, who is considered blind by many and is often looked down upon in society, however, he often sees what others do not and has excessive knowledge of the world around him. Even though he sees everything, he does not say what he knows and others do not ask him, for they believe he has no knowledge of the problems. After moving to Tangerine, he sees his brother doing horrible things and his parents none the wiser. His friend suffers at the hands of his brother and is eventually killed, and afterwards, Paul feels much guilt for the words unsaid. It is a big hole of nothingness that stays in outer space but does not suck up everything. Now lets get into more of the facts about black holes. As previously stated, what does one think when they hear the words black hole? A giant hole that is pitch black and sucks anything and everything up inside of it perhaps? Stellar black holes are enormous stars that have run out of nuclear fuel, which then creates an unsteady situation. The outer layers then proceed to explode in a supernova leaving the middle to implode essentially creating a black hole if the star was large enough. Said to be the collapse of a compact cluster of stars, supermassive black holes are revealed to astronomers by rapid moving gas jets that point towards the massive holes typically in the center of galaxies. The Space Telescope Science Institution (STSCI) even says that there might be one in the center of our own galaxy, the Milky Way. When substances cross the event horizon of the black hole it increases the mass of it, which expands the horizon, this means it is larger and can grab things farther away. Lastly, is the mini black holes that the STSCI and along with various theories believe might have been formed in the early universe, the Big Bang, which is the moment the universe was believed to be created. I am born and raised Catholic so I know what view I am supposed to have on each topic, but I d catch myself feeling guilty because my views were more often than not slightly different than the Church s teachings. I needed to remind myself that it is okay I have a different opinion, as long as I accept the Church s opinion as well. Of the topics we talked about, I found cohabitation as the most important/interesting and I found contraception as the most controversial. In this paper I will focus on contraception in premarital sex which can also be happening in cohabiting relationships, so it in a way all connects. I have been dating my boyfriend Jarod for almost six and a half years now and he recently asked me where I was going to live after I was done with college. Yet, the detailing of the protagonist s expedition leaves one wishing for a similar adventure. The narrator s company of her two best friends, her dogs: Jackson and Hailey, seems to carry a special significance for her. Their personification and the treatment as developing characters must have some symbolic representation of the protagonist s personality that has been split now. The male figure Jackson is an oversized sheepdog and something else that is tireless, adventurous and leader like while the female figure Hailey is not so graceful , is in constant indecision as she runs and stays behind the [protagonist] as they ski (185). While Jackson encourages the narrator to ski harder, go faster, climb higher , she has to mediate between him and reluctant, groaning Hailey to find an agreement. In a symbolic level, perhaps, Houston wants the readers to see the protagonist as an embodiment of three distinct dispositions: conscience, optimism and depression. While the protagonist herself represents her conscience, this ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 39. Liberal Iraq War On September 11, 2001, the world witnessed deadly, psychologically disruptive, and economically devastating terrorist attacks organized and funded by Al Qaeda against New York and Washington, D.C. This event eventually led to the 2003 invasion of Iraq. There are many ways in which the Iraq war and its aftermath support elements of liberalism. Liberals posit that aggression and war cannot be avoided but can be moderated, if not eliminated, through a collective action. They add that institutions are effective in managing self interests thereby making perpetual peace and economic development a possibility. Pertinent elements of liberal IR theory to be discussed are the following: value of multilateral approach, aspect of humanitarian intervention, spread of democracy, and the notion of benign liberal empire. International partnership and multilateral approach to both creating chaos and ensuring security were evident in this historical case. The 9/11 attack, directed by Osama bin Laden, set into ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The example of a free Iraq would accordingly inspire other peoples of the region to the belief that democracy was not just a Western invention but a universal human right. This is a profoundly liberal argument adopted by the Bush administration. In the words of Ikenberry (2004), if the values of democracy and the rule of law are established in troubled countries around the world, security threats would cease bringing in lasting peace liberals view highly of. In conclusion, the relationship between the liberalist theory and the global war on terrorism along with the subsequent Iraq invasion illustrated the importance liberals place on universal interdependence along with the promotion of perpetual peace as a solution to global security and, ideally as it would follow, economic ... • 40. Insanity of War in Slaughterhouse Five Slaughterhouse Five, by Kurt Vonnegut Jr., is the tale of a gawky World War II veteran/soldier, Billy Pilgrim. His wartime experiences and their effects lead him to the ultimate conclusion that war is unexplainable. To portray this effectively, Vonnegut presents the story in two dimensions: historical and science fiction. The irrationality of war is emphasized in each dimension by contrasts in its comic and tragic elements. The historical seriousness of the Battle of the Bulge and the bombing of Dresden are contrasted by many ironies and dark humor; the fantastical, science fiction type place of Tralfamadore is, in truth, an outlet for Vonnegut to show his incredibly serious fatalistic views. The surprising variations of the seriousness ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... One soldier dies from the dry heaves after being forced to work in a rotting corpse mine. Ironically, this man has survived the bombing of Dresden, yet dies from the smell of others who died in the bombing. Eventually, the corpse mines are closed because of the horrendous conditions, and the war ends. The book ends as Billy is walking out of the slaughterhouse after gaining his freedom and he notices is that, Birds were talking. One bird said to Billy Pilgrim, Poo tee weet? The bird s cameo in the story reinforces the idea that there is nothing to say about an unnecessary massacre as in Dresden, and that war is illogical, like the bird s words. This is ironic, since the theme of the novel, which should be the clearest message derived from the story, is summed up in the incoherent words of a bird. All these incidences of irony show senselessness and coincidence, with undertones of dark humor. [In questioning why the incidences of the novel occur, it is impossible to give a logical explanation.] This parallels the idea that war is nonsense, senseless, full of coincidence, and is unexplainable. As a result of the trauma of Billy s war experience, he faces an inability to deal with reality later in his life. The fantastical Tralfamadore is a planet where Billy escapes to when he feels life s stresses; however mad Billy seems to have become, Tralfamadore doubles to reveal Vonnegut s earnest fatalistic views. Tralfamadore is the ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 41. Stonehenge Vs. Easter Island Stonehenge vs. Easter Island Stonehenge and Easter Island are two very old and interesting mysteries and monuments of the world. • 42. Akbar Research Paper The Mughal dynasty was established by a man named Babur who ruled over the state of Hindustan (India). As a youth, Babur, a prince of the house of Timur, was unable to maintain his sovereignty over the small Central Asian state bequeathed to him by his father (Source?). Instead, he turned his attention to the southeast, where he occupied Kabul in 1504, and almost immediately embarked on his conquest of India (Source?). By 1527, Babur had defeated both the forces of the Lodi sultan and those of the Hindu confederacy (Source?). However, at the time of his death, in 1530, he had not yet transformed his territorial acquisitions into an empire (Source?). This task was left to his son Humayun, who lacked the military genius of his father and soon forfeited the Mughal foothold in India (Source?). Only through Persian military intervention did he manage to regain the capital cities of Agra and Delhi in 1555; however, Humayun s son Akbar was credited with the real foundation of the Mughal Empire (Source?). During his reign from 1556 to 1605, Akbar established dominion over northern and central India, as far east as Bengal. He secured the northwestern frontier, which served as a gateway to India for so many previous invasions. Akbar s most important territorial gain was the sultanate of Gujarat, in the west, which provided the Mughal empire with enormous wealth from its commercial centers, and access to the Arabian Sea. This presented an opportunity for lucrative trade with both ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 43. Personal Narrative-It s On The Road On the road again for the third time in a month. In the middle of the hottest month, we were in a car. Only eight hours away from Tennessee we got pulled over by not just one cop but three cops for speeding. We sat there for at least two hours. Since we were from Franklinton, Louisiana it took a very long time. So, we finally got to leave the side of the road. We sat there so long it got extremely hot. So we all decide to go swimming. So as all eighteen of us went swimming we all started laughing for some odd reason. Little did we know that the pool was filled with some crazy stuff, it took all but two minutes to figure out what it was, and it was some type of chemical that made you laugh hysterically! Later that week we went to Dollywood ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 44. Certainty and Flexibility in Judicial Precedent It is often believed that the relationship between certainty and flexibility in judicial precedent has struck a fine line between being necessary and being precarious. The problem is that these two concepts of judicial precedent are seen as working against each other and not in tandem. There is proof, however, that as contrasting as they are on the surface they are actually working together to achieve one common goal. Judicial precedent in its broad definition is the process by which judges follow previously decided cases to aid in their decision providing that the facts are sufficiently similar. The doctrine of judicial precedent seeks to provide consistency and predictability in law by virtue of the application of the principle of ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Obiter dictums are not binding as they do not speak directly to the matter before the court, they do however still prove useful in legal practice as they can be used as persuasive authority. Judicial precedent as a whole is the way in which English law provides and maintains consistency and predictability. This assumption of consistency and predictability through judicial precedent allows the law to exude a sense of certainty, fairness and by extension some amount of flexibility; but the question is, how can something which is consistent and predictable to such a degree that it is considered certain exhibit flexibility? After all one would think that in order to be consistent and predictable there must be rigidity involved. Before we can delve into the relationship between certainty and flexibility in judicial precedent, each element must be explored individually. Unlike legislation and statue which most times speak to hypothetical situations, judicial precedent is a response to real situation and as such there is a foundation of pragmatism which holds the principle together. As it relates to certainty, the law is established in such a way that it is possible to predict what a decision will be and plan accordingly. There is a sense of security in this element of judicial precedence because once a legal rule has been established it is binding and cannot changed by a later or lower court, individuals can therefore adjust their behavior with regard to the legal rule. ...
