Working Title: Zombie Kill!
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose:
The products purpose is to entertain people aged 7- 20. I will achieve this by making a
game that is fun and simple and that will have people addicted and will challenge them as
the levels progress.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre: The product is an arcade style zombie killing sidescroller game.
What sort of product is it
Content: You play as a no named survivor of the zombie apocalypse. The apocalypse
started only 3 years ago, so there are still survivors out there. The object of the game is to
make your way through each level asquickly as possible. There is no time limit but players
that are able to clear a level fast will be rewarded with upgrades such as extra ammo and
better weapons. At the end of each level you will free another survivor and you will gain a
bigger health bar for doing so.
The game play is simple. You just have to do is click the gun and it will fire. The arrow keys
move the character and space bar allows you to jump. Weapon upgrades are available
along with character customisation. The levelswill begin with a small amount of zombies,
but as the player progresses the levels will get harder. Objects and obstacles will be
introduced in the later levels, such as explosive barrels and zombie bats.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Audience: My target audience is malesaged 7-20 The game is about killing zombies and is
mostly designed to appeal to a male audience. Femalesare more than welcome to play as
well but they are not the core demographic. The psychographics I will be appealing to are
• Belonger: Belongers are brand loyal, which means they will keep coming back,
which is good because they will tell their friends and word will get around. I feel like
I can appeal to them by making an addictive game that will keep them entertained
and interested. I could also include micro-transactions in the future to continue
making money off the game. They are community orientated which means they will
like my product because it will be made in the UK.
• Socially Conscious Type A: This group is concerned about how their actions will
affect the world they are living in. They will also respond to messages about making
a difference to society or the environment. My game will appeal to this type of
person because it will have relatable charactersthat and there will be different
strategies that the player is able to use.
• Needs Driven: This group does not plan and will respond to messages relating to
missing opportunities and impulse buying. I will appeal to this type of person by
having the player make tough decisions on the fly.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc.
Why would your project appeal to this person?

Legal & Ethical Considerations: My game will not intently go out of its way to offend
anyone, however the main purpose of the game is to kill zombies. Since I am trying to
market the game towards children some parents may have some issues with them playing
this game. I will counteract this by having a cartoon art style not only so it appealsto
children, but so parents won’t mind their children playing this type of game. Younger
people are a big part of the target audience, so it will be very accessible to them.
I do not believe any social groups, religions or ethnicities will find anything offensive about
this game. The point is just to kill waves of zombies. The only problem there may be is the
fact that there isn’t much of a diversity of main characters to play as. The player will be able
to customise the cloths he wearsbut other than that you play as a white male. If this
becomes a big problem I could add the option to play as other characters with different
ethnic backgrounds.
All of the material I will be using will be original. I may base the design off an existing one,
but I will change it and make it y own enough so you are unable to tell. I believe that even
though the idea of zombie game has been done before, mine is diffe rent. For example the
game play. It’s simple and easy to understand, so anyone can play it. Yes the game will take
inspiration from other games but it won’t copy them.
Think about any offensive material you will include?
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?

They are community orientated which means they will like my product because it will be made in the UK. • Socially Conscious Type A: This group is concerned about how their actions will affect the world they are living in. They will also respond to messages about making a difference to society or the environment. My game will appeal to this type of person because it will have relatable charactersthat and there will be different strategies that the player is able to use. • Needs Driven: This group does not plan and will respond to messages relating to missing opportunities and impulse buying. I will appeal to this type of person by having the player make tough decisions on the fly. Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc. Why would your project appeal to this person?
  • 2. Proposal 2 Legal & Ethical Considerations: My game will not intently go out of its way to offend anyone, however the main purpose of the game is to kill zombies. Since I am trying to market the game towards children some parents may have some issues with them playing this game. I will counteract this by having a cartoon art style not only so it appealsto children, but so parents won’t mind their children playing this type of game. Younger people are a big part of the target audience, so it will be very accessible to them. I do not believe any social groups, religions or ethnicities will find anything offensive about this game. The point is just to kill waves of zombies. The only problem there may be is the fact that there isn’t much of a diversity of main characters to play as. The player will be able to customise the cloths he wearsbut other than that you play as a white male. If this becomes a big problem I could add the option to play as other characters with different ethnic backgrounds. All of the material I will be using will be original. I may base the design off an existing one, but I will change it and make it y own enough so you are unable to tell. I believe that even though the idea of zombie game has been done before, mine is diffe rent. For example the game play. It’s simple and easy to understand, so anyone can play it. Yes the game will take inspiration from other games but it won’t copy them. Think about any offensive material you will include? Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it? Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities? How will you ensure you do not offend anyone? Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs? Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright infringement?
