Working Title: The Manhattan Project
What is it called? This can change if you think of something better later
Product’s Purpose:
My products purpose is to entertain people, specifically targeted those who like survival / horror
video games. My game features a lot of content that appeals to people that enjoy these games,
such as zombies, combat etc. fighting & guns, and more.
What is the product’s purpose (entertain/educate etc.) and how will you achieve this?
Genre:
My product is a single player horror – survival video game in which the player must survive in an
apocalyptic world.
What sort of product is it
Content
My product is about a violent outbreak in the state of New York, USA. Where a survivor, played by
you, is trying to survive in Manhattan. Your character must collect resources, food and fight off the
hoards of the un-dead, as well as other enemies that wish to eliminate you and take your supplies.
Re-enforce your territory and protect yourself, or you will meet you demise.
The game will feature zombies, weapons (guns & melee), food, materials (such as wood & metal
to re-enforce your base), human enemies, that hunt you for your resources and a deadly terrain,
making it harder for the player to proceed in collecting resources and weapons.
What is your product about? Discuss what you would put in it (be specific). Does it have a story? If
so, discuss it here
Audience:
My primary audience is young males (or females that enjoy survival type games), specifically
targeted at aged 18 – 24, as it is a violent and complex game that younger people may find hard to
understand, or not enjoy violent and brutal gameplay. My secondary audience is targeted at aged
15+ males, as most teenage males also enjoy violent video games. I feel the psychographics will
target a whole range & community of people who are interested in strategy / survival styled video
games, as well as horror games, as my game has content appropriate for these genres.
My game will appeal to these people because it features content that a lot of males & females
enjoy in video games at a mature age like blood, gore and complex gameplay. The gameplay in
my game is very strategic, and requires thinking about the obstacles you have to cross, and
players this age will often enjoy a challenge and difficulty in a video game.
Who is your audience? Be very detailed; age, gender, social status, psychographic etc.
Why would your project appeal to this person?
Research and Planning:
I am looking to implement a lot of my research into my product, such as eroded material textures,
and abandoned / broken buildings and scenery. I am also going to implement a lot of the
cinematography that I researched, to make my product look and feel realistic, and to give it a
refined look. I will mainly be using my research during the production of my game, as a lot of my
research focuses on production designs and the style and look of things, such as character
models.
What elements of your research and planning will you use in your final production?
Where will you use your research and planning in your final production?

Legal & Ethical Considerations:
Think about any offensive material you will include?
People could be offended by the setting of the game, as the game has a negative theme.
Will you restrict younger people using/accessing it?
The game will be rated 18+ so anyone under 18 will not be allowed to purchase it, but may
be able to play it with parental consent.
Will it offend any social groups/religions/ethnicities?
It could offend groups that believe in the worlds end, and could find the content to be
sarcasm and ‘making fun’ of the group because of their beliefs.
How will you ensure you do not offend anyone?
By not adding any sarcastic remarks, or religious content.
Are you using characters/names/logos of existing products/IPs?
Other than the name ‘Manhattan’, everything is purely my content.
Will you product be sufficiently different from existing products to not get sued for copyright
infringement?
My product will be in a genre with a lot of games that are similar, but not too similar to get
sued for copyright complaints.
