Audience:
My project doesn’t have anything that includes any violence nor any harsh words making my
project very child friendly however the plot is more related to teenagers as it’s about being late for
college. The concept can even be related to adults as the same issue can be for work. I think the
age range is for at least 10-30 year olds as the concept can be quite funny for these ages. I don’t
think my film is gender specific as the plot and comedy can relate to both. The only thing that may
push this to one gender is the protagonist as he is a male. This could prevent females to enjoy
watching my film however my film doesn’t have any male related issues. My film isn’t for any
specific social grade as I want to target all the social grades. My project is most likely for the
psychographic for emulators as it includes a feel of achievement but not to attract the opposite
sex.
Rationale (approx. 100 words)
I have learnt many things during this rotation which all relates to filming. I think the most practical
thing I’ve learnt are all the necessary camera shots that will make my film visually pleasing. I have
researched into whip shots and track shots that suits the comedy and action in my film. I also
looked at many other shots that may interest me to make other films in the future. The most I have
learnt during this rotation is probably editing in premier. I want my film to look professional and less
of the low budget look. This is why I learnt how to edit my film with the adjustment layers. The
adjustment layers opened up many new features on how to edit my film and make it look most
professional. The most effective editing I learnt is the colour grading making certain things stand
out to get rid of the low quality look.
Project Concept (approx. 200 words)
The concept of my project is very simple which works around the time related idea. It will start with
the protagonist waking up to an alarm coming from his phone. He is shocked to see that the time is
8:00am revealing that has probably late for something. It will then whip shit through him rushing
through his morning routing and then running through different environments. All this will have fast
pace music while having a certain colour grade in order to make an action parody. Once my
protagonist arrives his location which is college he will be looking through the window of his class
door. A janitor will interrupt him showing his phone revealing that it’s the half term holiday. To
capture this I will research into how to capture a visually entertaining shots and editing as running
and jumping over obstacles can be quite boring. For this research I will look at how the film “Baby
Driver” achieves this as well as many other films. I will also research into one minute films as I
want to understand ways of how to fit impactful scenes in one minute.
Production Techniques (approx. 150 words)
The most effective technique will use is many different camera shots I will use as it will make my
film enjoyable to watch. The certain shots I want to master is the track shot and the whip shot
which will correspond with the fast pace concept. This will need much practice and even maybe
equipment such as the slider in order to track my running neatly. To keep my shots steady I will
use a tripod. I will also look into certain films that include these type of shots. For the music I need
a suitable tune that relates to the running of my protagonist. For this in will have to practice using
garage band and listen to similar tunes to gain inspiration.
Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
To evaluate my work in detail I will reflect my process into a PowerPoint showing my work in detail
and depth making it easier for me evaluate as whole. My reflection will be a like evaluating while
I’m working on my project. This will also help me analyse deeply as it will give me information of
what I was thinking at the time.
