2. I conducted a survey and here are the results.
1. 80% of the people who answered the survey were between 16-18 years old.
2. 100% of the people who answered are male.

4. 16% of people like Drama films, 16% like Comedy, 16% like Thriller and 50% like

should be 1-2 minutes long, 16% also think that short films should be 5 minutes long

3.  Audience Demographic Audience Psychographic for Thrillers Age: 15 –
40 -The BBFC rating dictates the minimum age as 15.
 60% of viewers for the thriller genre are women.

you should then be able to produce an audience outline that you intend to target.
For this you could also produce an audience profile.
 I believe that my target audience is mainly 16-18 year old males which favourite
genres of films vary from each other yet quite a few of them like action films. I also
learned from my primary research that most of my audience would like to see a
mystery/thriller short film which is what I am hoping to do for my short film project.

5.  Given your idea generation and your audience research, what sort of content
would you define as the appropriate. Consider issues of taste, certification [BBFC
might be a good starting point for this], etc. Look at what you’d like to include and
what you are allowed to include.
 I would think that my short film should be under the 15+ certificate from the BBFC
since I will have dangerous behaviour and a constant threat. I have also chosen
the 15+ certificate so that I have more freedom on how I do things in the short
film.

6.  Research potential production techniques you might want to use
or feel would be most appropriate – these can be related to
camera, editing, story, sound, etc
 You should look at a minimum of 3 related products in your
research.
 You should collect clips/still images/how to guides/etc that might
help you. When watching scenes from films, etc you could also
ask potential target audience what they think.
 You will need to add extra slides!
 With each technique you should assess whether you can use it or
how you might employ or why you may want to disregard it
completely

7. My concept for my short film is
quite similar to the concept of
groundhog day in some ways.
Mainly due to the loop and the
way the loop affects the character.
In groundhog day the character
becomes depressed due to having
to live the same day over and over
again. I am hoping to do
something like this in my short film
as my character is stuck in the
loop with no means of escape
which begins to make them lose
hope and lose their sanity.

8. This film also has a concept where
each time he dies the day repeats
until he sets things right. In my short
film at the end, my character dies
and then wakes up back in the loop.

9. This product is a
discontinued game
called P.T. The concept
of this game is that you
are stuck in a loop of a
hallway and each time
you re-enter the hallway
things change. It is a
horror game so spooky
thigs happen. My idea
for my short film is rather
similar to this since you
are stuck in a hallway
and some things change
yet my outcome for the
film is different and it is
not supposed to be a
horror film.

11.  During filming I used several
different techniques and different
shots. I used pan shots, close
ups, follow shots and medium
shots. I also used more shots in
my film. I also placed the camera
in places where you could not
see where the person had come
from last scene as we would
usually be away from the last
scene.

12.  What elements of your experiments will you include in your final
product?
 I will probably try to use all or most of the shots that I used in my
experiment in my final product. This is because it will make my final
product look more professional and will make it more interesting than
if there are less shots and the shots are not interesting angles.

13.  I edited this video in a way that
makes the movement look fluid
and constant even though there
are cuts and different angles.
This helped with making the film
look consistent and linear rather
than it looking inconstant and
confusing as you don’t know how
they got to a place and such.

14.  What elements of your experiments will you include in your final
product?
 I will use the technique for cuts and transitions on to the next
scene that I used in my experiments on my final product. This will
make my final product have a linear structure and make it less
confusing. It will also make my product look more professional as
there will be no delayed cuts or jumping of the people in the film.

15.  The audio that I used in this experiment was
rather basic yet it also enhanced the video by
adding depth and life to it. I made sure that
sound I got synced up to the video so that it is
constant with movement and actions. I also have
an ominous soundtrack in the background to add
some sense of tension or a feeling of unease.

16.  What elements of your experiments will you include in your final
product?
 I will use the technique that I used to sync up the audio with the video
as I did in this experiment. This makes the video take new levels as it
adds depth and feeling of being there. I will also consider using an
ominous soundtrack like the one I used in my experiment as it creates
a feeling of tension and unease.

17.  List all the potential constraints that might affect or limit your production, you
