• The working title for my short film is called “Late”.

3. Audience
• For my short film I have decided to aim it towards teenagers around
the age of sixteen to eighteen. I have decided to aim my film towards
this age range because I think that this age range will relate to the
plot. For the gender I prefer to have my film aimed at both because I
want my film to be enjoyed by everyone. This film would mostly be
relatable for the lower/middle/working class because these types of
people would usually get a miss and understand the struggle of
missing one. My psychographic would mostly be a socially conscious
type b because thee psychographics usually give up on society and
indicates missing a bus would be a tragedy.

4. Rationale (approx. 100 words)
• Looking back on my advertisement for he irn bru project I used some
elements which I might include in my short film. For example in my
irn bru advertisement I used a zoom effect on of the shots which I
think will look good for my project. For that project I was originally
going to do a zombie themed advert but suddenly had to change
theme because of unforeseen inconveniences. For this project I aim
to stick to the storyline and theme of the film. In my previous
animation project I did use sound effects for the animation and
learned how to fit them in correct so I'm going to use those skills in
my final short film.

5. Project concept (approx. 200 words)
• At the beginning of the short film there is a girl walking down a corridor.
She looks on her phone and sees a text message. In that message it reads
the words "time is running out". The character then has a panicked look on
their face and starts running. At this point the audience does not know
what the message means or why the girl starts running which adds tension
to the film. There is also going to be a funny shot where the dramatic music
stops as a shot of a lift is shown. As soon as the lift opens the girl starts
running again and the music continues. It is revealed that the character
was running for a bus in which she ends up missing. She looks at the bus
timetable and realises the next bus available is hours away. She sits at the
bus upset that she has missed the bus. I will use sad music for this shot
because it will add more comedy to the film. For the research I am going to
look at how other short films have a dramatic build up with a comedic pay
off and how they use shots to add drama.

6. Production techniques (approx. 150 words)
• I might need some specialist equipment such as a Steadicam. I may
need a Steadicam because in some shots the camera may follow the
character while they are running and the shot will need to be smooth
and clear. I may also need some audio equipment for my short film. I
need equipment such as a audio reorder. I need this because I am
going to need sound effects such as a lift door opening and a phone
text alert. If the audio recorder fails to retrieve the sound effects and
music that I need, I may have to use a royalty free music and sound
effects downloader which is sourced from the internet. I may need a
green screen for my shot in which the bus drives away. I might need
the green screen because the bus schedule may not be in sync with
my filming schedule so then I might need to edit one in.

7. Evaluation (approx. 50 words)
• One way I could evaluate my work Is through peer evaluation. I could
ask people to watch my short film and give me feedback on what they
enjoyed about it and what could be improved. I could also compare
my work to pre existing products and see what they did which I could
of done. I could also look back on my pre production and planning
and see if I missed any of my targets or added anything I didn’t plan
before production.
