Whale Hunting In Makah Culture
The debate in this article can be really boiled down to people s view of animal rights and cultural
rights (Van Grinkel, 2004). For fifteen hundred years the Makah having been conducting whale hunts
with it being one of the main aspects of their culture. In 1855 a treaty was signed in which they
forfeited thousands of acres of their land to the federal government in exchange for the ability to
continue their whale hunts. However, in the 1920s traditional whale hunting by the Makah stopped for
a variety of reasons. In 1937 grey whaling was official out lawed. Fast forward to 1995 when the
Makah culture wanted to resume the traditional whale hunting. After some intense legal battles with
the government they were allowed too. In 1999 after some extremely fierce protesting they finally
managed to get a whale. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The first was a resurgence of the Makah culture. They relearned all the ways their ancestors did this
hunt. This was not just the tools for the hunt but the spiritual aspects such as the releasing of the whale
s soul and the wives symbolically representing the actual whales during the hunts. While the effects
from the whale hunt for the culture were good some negative ones arose from the public. The public
believed that this hunt was immoral and barbaric because they wanted to protect the whale. The hunt
was almost complete based on traditional practices except for a rifle they used to instantly kill the
whale after it has been caught. The protestors were angry about that but they didn t consider how
much more humane it was to kill the whale like that. While orginally it was under guise of protecting
the whales it turned to blatant racism when they called the Makah savages, barbarians, and other

Country Vs Pop Music
Country vs. Pop: Which One Is On Top? Country and Pop music are both popular genres, but which
one is better? This decision is tough to make since there are various similarities of to why both are
great genres of music. There is also a variety of factors to show the differences between these two
genres as well. Research has shown light to the conclusion of to which genre exceeds the other. The
things that both genres can be judged on is how they came to be, their fanbase, and the top hits. The
origination of Country, compared to Pop music is very different. Country music came to be in 1910
when an ethnomusicologist, John Lomax, published Cowboy Songs and Other Frontier Ballads . The
first major musician, Carl Sprague, recorded cowboy songs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

According to the iTunes charts the number one music video that is taking over the charts at the
moment is Taylor Swift s song called Blank Space . Throughout the list there is not a country song
until number twenty one with Girl In A Country Song by Maddie and Tae. Between the two it clearly
shows that the videos are different in the ways they were filmed and how they portrayed the song and
it s meaning. Taylor Swift went for a video that was like a story and went along with the song, while
Maddie and Tae s music video showed that they were trying to prove a point about the stereotype of a
country girl. According to the iTune s charts for the songs, Blank Space by Taylor Swift was number
one also. A country song was located farther down in the list at number thirty one with Shotgun Rider
by Tim McGraw. Both genres are making it onto the charts, but country music is lower in the ranking
compared to the pop genre. The results of these rankings are from online purchases, which is why
these rankings may be biased to some extent. The reason for this is, yet again, that the pop genre fan
base is more electronically educated than the country fan base and it may be a point as to why songs
are ranked the way they

The Pros And Cons Of Guerilla Warfare
Insurgency must not be jumbled up with terrorism as they overlap somehow but are totally different
entities. These two such concepts probably lead to more confusion than any other thing. Guerilla
warfare and insurgencies are often inferred to be similar with terrorism. One rationale for this is that
insurgencies has similar targets as that of terrorism. However, if we examine specific differences, a
prime difference is that an insurgency is a movement against the authorities with specific aim. Its
motive is to challenge the government regarding control of certain parts of its territory and for that
they require some support of the population, on the contrary, a terror group does not require active
support of the population. It just works for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is a creative force, not an antagonistic one in some scenarios. If their approach is to improve the
spaces that belong to all of us, then that is the positive aspect of such movements. Taking a very small
example like installing temporary seating at bus stops, for people who are fed up of waiting for bus,
after their jobs and stay standing. When the authorities take no step to accommodate them, that s when
the guerillas come in. I won t naively support such acts as profound, or say that they have the strength
to solve the deep rooted problems in our cities, but the spirit of the guerilla urbanists to fix small
issues in appreciable ways should be appreciated. These are the acts that lay the foundation of a
reformatory movement, for the betterment of locales. They change the direction of our vision towards
the city. Guerrilla urbanists are not given the reform projects by the government like turning roads into
sidewalks and setting up shop in vacant buildings, which is illegal in most cities. Gradually though,
some governments have approved these projects after witnessing the positive public reception they
gain. Others have gone further and initiated such projects themselves, one of the most famous
examples is pedestrianizing Times Square in New York

A Note On The Bridge Loan
A bridge loan has nothing to with bridges; it is a short term loan from a bank or other lender. For any
business owner the knowledge of bridge loans may mean the difference between failure or success of
a business venture. Commercial bridge loans are also known as hard money loans and they are used
by business owners as a stop gap arrangement while a permanent loan is being secured. Even though
home owners sometimes use bridge financing between the time they purchase or sell their homes, it is
more frequently used by business people to refinance or purchase all types of commercial properties
including commercial real estate. Today commercial bridge loans are being used for financing a wide
range of commercial properties including hotels, factories, industrial properties, retail businesses and
commercial properties having a variety of uses. Essentially a bridge loan is used for bridging the
current gap between a buyer s immediate need for cash for closing a deal and the availability of a long
term loan package for financing the deal. The terms of bridge loans are short and vary between 12 to
36 months. After that period the long term lower cost permanent financing package, usually from the
same lender, takes its place. Like other types of loans bridge loans also have their benefits and
drawbacks. One of the major benefits of most bridge loans is that they are designed to close very
quickly. This makes them very useful when fast cash is required to close a commercial

Naval Athens and the Rise of Athenian Democracy Essay
There is no coincidence that the rise of Athenian Democracy goes chronologically hand in hand with
the rise of the Athenian Navy. Following the defeat of the Persians by the Greeks, Athens naval
successes allow it to surpass the previous naval power of Corinth; create the Delian league to fund and
support this navy; and eventually ruffle enough feathers with their fellow Hellenic neighbours that
they inspire the Peloponnesian war. Overall their naval reputation and intimidation comes from the
skill of the men who maneuver and command the ships, and the tool they use to wield their power, the
Athenian trireme. By looking at the design of the trireme, and the work and numbers put both into the
ship and the men that drive it, hopefully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
TRIREMES AND SHIPBUILDING
Triremes were unfortunately had to make stops on shore nightly whenever possible, because they ship
needed to dry out and the crew would be given time to rest and eat without being confined to the
smaller space available in the trireme (Jordan 1975). This was not always the case though; there is a
recalling of a time when a trireme did have to sail through the night, when one ship had to catch up to
the trireme headed to Mytilene (Jordan 1975). This type of travel was possible with a trireme, but it
would sail slightly slower since men had to take turns rowing, eating barley cakes and wine
(Thucydides 1996)(3.49.4), and sleeping, since they had not enough room for everyone to take a break
at once. Another example is when they couldn t anchor at Pylos, men took their meals on shore in their
turn (4.26.3)(Thucydides 1996). This would not have done any harsh damage to the ship in small
amounts, but if it were to travel this way consistently there would be definite problems with ship
maintenance.
To actually build a trireme, it consisted of a number of different types of resources and uniquely
skilled laborers. The ship was built shell first , meaning the side planks were constructed before laying

ABSTRACT: Nowadays every energy system depends on conventional energy sources but the low
availability and high initial cost usage of renewable energy is used to generate the electricity but there
are many renewable energy sources but in that wind energy is considered and proved as one of the
best reliable energy which is capable for generating electricity by lower costs and this come under
wind energy conversion and there are two types they are stand alone wind energy and grid connected
as wind flow by nature is irregular so storage systems are used as backup for continuous flow of
energy and the sustainability of 4 KW hybrid wind and battery system is investigated to reach the
requirements of 3KW stand alone dc load in a telecom station. The charging and discharging of
battery is controlled by ensuring a charge control of battery bank based on turbine maximum power
tracking and charging state of battery is developed. The pitch control is used as assurance for
mechanical safety for WECS. The Control schemes are tested by using MATLAB.

The Events Of The War On Terror
Miller Porter Sgt. A. Pedry research paper 9/11 was a major focal point on the war on terror. It
changed America in many ways. There are two main view point s that will be gone over in this
research paper. The first and the most vital will be cultural historical viewpoint because it change
Americas culture and how the viewed the world in a major way. The next but less prominent is top
down because in this research paper I will be talking about how the people in charge reacted to the
events that unfolded in 911 how their decisions shaped the world that is today. These will be the
historical viewpoints that will be shown in my research paper. The events of 911 changed America
culturally in multiple ways. It also brought American people in the light of a new threat, terrorism.
This changed America s outlook drastic. On September, 11, 2001,multiple Al Qaeda terrorists boarded
three passenger planes and then hijacked the planes and carried out suicide attacks against the World
Trade Center in New York City and the Pentagon in Washington, DC., killing everyone on board the
planes and nearly 3,000 people on the ground. A fourth plane crashed into a Pennsylvania field, after
passengers and crew attempted to take control from the hijackers. These attacks were symbolic attacks
against the United States and its people. Not only had it been a psychological attack, it was the first
attack in a long time that it happened on US soil. The terrorists were also making symbolic attacks

The Evolution of Self in Asian-American Women in the Us...
Essay 2 The Evolution of Self in Asian American Women in the US The conflict of a typical
mother/daughter relationship exists in many cultures. This conflict for many Asian American women
was further exasperated as these women were forced to also deal with adjusting as first, second, and
third generation Americans in a sometimes unwelcome society. As a child, Japanese American Janice
Mirikitani, was interned, along with her mother, at a work relocation camp during 1941in Rohwer,

Delmendo, Mirikitani). The first generation of Mirikitani women had to potentially overcome the
silence of her liberties by the traditions of two cultures. The culture of Japanese tradition she left
behind and that of the unwelcoming American culture. Instead of fighting against this persecution by
the United States, she chose to remain silent and hidden within the confines of her Japanese culture.
As a Nisei, second generation Japanese American, Janice begins to question her role as a woman in
American in society. She wants to break the tradition of silence and speak out against the defined role
that society has laid out for her. She makes attempts to do this in her own mind so that she can pass
this knowledge on to her daughter, but she seems unable to do so. In the poem, she expresses her
discontent at remaining silent and hopes that she can convey this yearning to break tradition, and be
heard in society, to her daughter. Before she can express these sentiments to her sansei daughter, she
realizes that her daughter was able to break this chain of silence that was passed down to her and find
her self identity on her own. She seems to be unaware of the confinements of either culture and seems
to have no problem in expressing herself or in embracing her American culture. A

3. Concert Date?
The day that I saw Sabrina Lentini perform was November 7th, 2017.
4. Describe the surroundings and the general ambiance. Did the venue seem appropriate? Did it
enhance or detract from the experience?
The ambiance was very kid friendly. The general surroundings were actually a decently large group of
people listening to her sing, as well as children sitting in front of her as close as they could as if it
were storytime. The venue did seem appropriate because it was family friendly and had no foul
language. I believe that having her perform on main Street enhanced the experience because you were
really able to see how passionate she was about her music. As well as how her voice was so naturally
amazing and she didn t need any audio tuning. The venue, just being on the street, enhanced the
experience to me because it shows that even though she s extremely musically talented, she s still a

It is recommended that all people see their family doctor routinely for check ups and screening for
chronic health problems. With so much information in the news about obesity, high blood pressure and
diabetes it can be scary for a patient to go to the doctor and potentially face hearing a diagnosis like
this. The good news is that if you start early in life and try to stick to health eating and exercise habits
you decrease your risk of being diagnosed with a chronic health condition. In addition, having the
right screening tests are also important to detecting potential problems early.
Read on to learn more about common screening tests and consider asking your doctor if you need any
of these tests done!

The Ponzi Scheme and Mental Illness
December 26 1919 Charles Ponzi borrowed $200 to buy some office furniture. By January 1920 he
then began telling the people of Boston how he could buy stamps and sell them overseas and give
them a 50% return on their investment in 45 days and 100% return in just 90 days. The people came
so fast he was able to pay returns of 100% in just 45 days. The word spread quickly and more
investors came. Soon Charles had two offices and hired people to take orders for stamps. Shortly
thereafter Charles was taking in as much as $1 million a week.

You might think the investors that bailed out early made out but all of their profits had to be returned
to bankruptcy court to pay back the millions still owed. This still wasn t enough to pay back all the
money owed. Investors only received back $.37 for every dollar they invested. (SSA, 2008) A far cry
from 50% profit. August 1924 Ponzi was released from jail but within months he was back in jail on
indictments that the state didn t get him on before. He was sentenced to nine years in prison but
remained free during his appeal. (Zuckoff, 2005)
Even this didn t stop Ponzi. During this time Ponzi and his wife moved to Jacksonville Florida and
began a new scam. This time it was land. He borrowed money from friends. Opened a company called
Chatpon Land Syndicate. Which play on the name Charles Ponzi. He began to buy up cheap land in
Jacksonville. Most of it swampland, and began selling of lots for nearly 500% profit. (Zuckoff, 2005)
When Florida found out who he was Massachusetts and Florida teamed up to shut him down again.
He was then sentenced to one year in jail for violating securities laws.
Ponzi faked is death and sneaked on to a ship as a dish washer. He eventually told someone who he
was and was captured several months later in Galveston Texas. Ponzi served 9 years in prison and was
deported to Italy October 7 1934 with only $70 in his pocket.
Ponzi died 17 January 1949 in Brazil. He had $75 to his name. (Zuckoff, 2005)

The Psychology of Serial Killers Essay
The Psychology of Serial Killers Many things today confuse, yet enthrall the masses. War, murder,
medical science, incredible rescues, all things you would see on The History Channel. There is another
topic that is also made into documentaries however, serial killers. Dark twisted people that commit
multiple murders are of interest to the population, but what caused them to be this way. What horrible
tragic set of events could twist a man to murder one or many people. Could Schizophrenia,
psychopathy, or sociopathy? Many people have researched this topic and believe that childhood
trauma, heavy drugs during the growing phase of life, as well as many other things have twisted the
minds of men such as Jeffery Dahmer, Charles Manson, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The case is very different with incipient serial killers. Fixated at a shockingly primitive stage of
emotional development, they never lose their craving for cruelty and domination. Quite contrary: it
continues to grow in them like a cancer. Eventually when dogs, cats, and other small, four legged
creatures can no longer satisfy it, they turn their terrifying attentions to a larger, two legged breed:
human beings.? The author mentions the ?primitive stage of emotional development? in which the

Pyromania is another clear sign when in conjunction with the triad. Fire is something that can be
controlled by a man and twisted into an idea of power. Fire for these individuals brings power and
excitement. Henry Lee Lucas, who murdered over 450 people, burned down a house near his own at
the age of six. Pyromania and animal torture/mutilation is a manifestation of the need for power that
serial killers posses and never progress past in their mental age. The triad, according to The
Encyclopedia of Serial Killers, hold evident for nearly 60% of serial killers. These characteristics may
later develop into sexual sadism, necrophilia, or other similarly disturbing social disorders. This
cookie cutter triad is a basis developed my many in the psychological

Theme Of Chinese Cinderella
On Google.com the word significant refers to something that is sufficiently great or important to be
worthy of attention; noteworthy. For something to have a significant impact on someone, it must be
meaningful, relevant, and important. As stated by Thomas Hardy, A story must be exceptional enough
to justify its telling; it must have something more unusual to relate than the ordinary experience of
every average man and woman. It must have something meaningful, something that pulls a reader in
so that the audience can laugh when the character laughs or cry when the character cries. It must be
significant. A story that fits the definition of significant is one by Adeline Yen Mah. In the novel
Chinese Cinderella: The True Story of an Unwanted Daughter, Adeline Yen Mah pulls the reader in by
using the themes of loneliness and acceptance something that is faced by nearly all at some point in
their life. What makes Yen Jun ling s story so engaging are the emotions as well as the obstacles she
went though. The circumstances she faced, even though not to the same extent, can be somewhat

My Reflection Of My Writing As A Portfolio
In my portfolio I will be including my first essay and second essay that I did for this class. I am most
proud of these essays not because I took my time on them but I know that I fixed what was asked and
made a lot of improvements on them. I believe I did meet the contract agreement that we signed at the
beginning of the quarter. Although, I did miss some days of class, more than I expected, but even after
that I feel like I kept up with my work in and outside of the classroom and what was required. I
enjoyed this class a lot because I was able to learn a lot about myself as a learner and was able to work
on my study habits. I learned a lot about how to read properly and how reading aloud truly helps you
as a writer and learner. I also became better at being able to correct others essays without feeling
guilty of what I was saying. At first I felt like I wasn t going to be able to put as much time as I wanted
in my outside of class work. But over the course, I learned that I had to make it a priority and didn t
have any other choice. I had to make it work with my job schedule and use my time very wisely,
which at first wasn t easy because I wasn t really good at that. These past ten weeks, say that I m still
working on my study/ work habits. Recording my labor hours really helped me keep track of the fact
the amount of hours I should be putting in time into my study time. I learned that the easiest things are
the biggest distractions to me. I also learned that I needed to

Mythical Vampire Research Paper
Vampire Vampires... Are they a figment of our imagination or are they actually apart of life. Despite
some features and abilities, research has shown that human portray the same features as a mythical

To begin with, in the mythological sense, vampires are afraid of mirrors, not because they are afraid of
looking at themselves but because they can t see themselves. Research has shown that many humans
tend to have a fear of mirrors also. Some sufferers of eisoptrophobia believe that looking into a mirror

Economic Policies Implemented During President Reagan s...
Reaganomics refers to economic policies implemented during President Reagan s administration from
1981 1989. The main ideology of Reaganomics was conservation which promoted that government is
the problem, not solution . That means, society and market would function better with limited
government power and regulations. Accordingly, Social wealth was distributed by unrestricted market,
and profits that capitalists earned would trickle down to the bottom of society. In this way, people
were in charge of improving their lives instead of relying on the aid of government. In order to recover
from the economic crisis occurred between 1981and1982, the major Reaganomics objectives was to
reduce government intervention in business and social aids. The policies were specified as marginal
tax cut, tightening money supply, reducing social welfare programs and regulations. Generally,
Reaganomics that impact citizens the most would be tax cut, reducing welfares and regulations.
First of all, the marginal tax cut was one of the most significant policy in the governing of President
Reagan. Starting from 1981, government reduced individual tax (the top tax rate was reduced from
70% to 50 %) and Windfall profit tax. As the Tax reform act of 1986 published, the tax rate of
wealthiest Americans was decline to 28 % and corporation tax was decreased to 34%. In addition, as
marginal tax rate for wealthy people decreasing, personal exemption amount increased from $1,080 to
$2,000. That means,

Mr. Harvey Thought A Lot Essay
Mr. Harvey thought a lot. To say the least, time had been his only friend for years. Mr. Harvey was the
type of man to think all kinds of kooky and abstract things. He liked to think of how there had only
ever been one yellow paddle boat for hire amongst the numerous blue down at the rivers dock. He
thought of how on cheery spring days the children would beg their parents to leave a few minutes
earlier to snatch it up before the other kids did. He used to watch them for hours, the amusement on
their faces riding along the steady waters laughing at the other children because they got stuck in the
boring blue paddle boats. Time was funny like that he thought. Getting to the docks those couple
moments earlier than the other children, granted hours of joy because their yellow boat happened to
bet better than all the blues. He also thought them absurd, to Mr. Harvey colours were just colours, not
measures of happiness. But he knew the youths naivety was all that made them young.
He thought about Delilah s Deli which sat directly below his scungy old flat back in 1945. He used to
pick up one punnet of sun dried tomatoes, a 250g block of cheese and a small jar of pitted black olives
every Sunday morning at exactly 9:05, purely because that was when their stock was fresh and was
guaranteed to last the week. He remembered the betrayal he d felt when a little sign saying Closed For
Good swung like a newton s cradle on the door where the open sign used to hang. Mr. Harvey thought

Age of Doubt In Europe in the 16th Century
In the 16th Century, Europeans had their faith shattered and were forced to realize that there was
doubt in what they believed in. From the countless wars being fought in the name of religion, to the
once great and wealthy countries that needed to reaffirm their place in the world, all that they had once
taken for granted was suddenly cast into doubt (446). Europeans were desperately searching for new
foundations to put their faith in in the face of intellectual, religious, and political challenges (446).
This period is an example of the expression Age of Doubt, Age of Uncertainty .

With the help of alliances William the Silent made with France, Germany, and England, the
Netherlands was divided up with Calvinism practiced in the north and Catholicism in the Spanish
controlled South (432 433). Between 1618 and 1648, Cardinal Richelieu led the Thirty Years War
against the Huguenots, with France against Austrian and Spain and with Germany getting the brunt of
the casualties (434 437). An example of the viciousness of the attacks were described by author Hans
Jakob Christoph von Grimmelshausen in his fictional memoir Siplicissimus (the Simpleton), where he
illustrated how each had his own device to torture the peasants, and each peasant had several tortures
(435). This ended with the signing of the Peace of Westphalia in 1648, which left France in a powerful
position in Europe, Germany and Austria losing not only in casualties but in the power structure of
Europe, and Europe as a checkerboard of Protestant and Catholic principalities (437).
The price revolution in Europe was another contributing factor giving Europeans cause for concern.
Europe s population grew after the Black Plague, yet the growth of food remained constant, which led
to higher food prices for the large demand. While the price of food increased, the rate of wages did not
match the increase. Additional factors was the surplus of bullions

The Other Wes Moore Plot Structure
The Other Wes Moore is written by Wes Moore himself. In the book The other Wes Moore there is
two black African American boys who share the same name but, ended up in different paths in life.
Both boys have absent fathers for their various reason and with mothers being the head of the
household. The purpose of the story is to illustrate how nurture is responsible for a individual success.
Author Wes Moore uses parallel plot structure, flashbacks, and diction to prove that nurture
determines an individual success.
The Other Wes Moore use parallel plot structure to display the similarities and differences between the

With many families in the world starving and/ or dealing with diseases they don t know how to cure,
but with money provided they would be able to get it under control at least a start. Then we have the
people in the states who are more worried about the fact that they don t have the newest iPhone, which
note, is not a life or death necessity. How are we to justify the fact that we are able to spend all the
money we have on unnecessary items and the people in North Korean or parts in Africa can barely or
many not even be able to afford food for the day to survive. As Peter Singer states We cannot dis

distance should not matter in the sense of being able to help starving kids. When you ask yourself
whether you re in the bind of being able to help starving kids or buying the newest up to date iPhone
the first answer would be to donate, but many people see the relief organizations as a scam and
wonder if they were to donate if the money would really go to the people they said they were going to.

An Analysis Of Jane Kenyon s Poetry
Jane Kenyon once said, The poet s job is to put into words those feelings we all have that are so deep,
so important, and yet so difficult to name, to tell the truth in such a beautiful way, that people cannot
live without it. Many poets take the bottled up feelings everyone feels and puts them into their writing.
Kenyon often did this in her poetry, telling her difficult story in powerful ways. Her writing represents
her truth and difficult emotions with an obsessive nature. The important feelings Kenyon felt are
always shown in her poetry. Jane Kenyon s poetry reflects her religious views and her grandmother s
influence, her life in New Hampshire, and her battle with leukemia.

physical ailments as a result of her leukemia, including hair loss, nausea, mouth pain, constipation and

Kenyon ultimately felt there was no cure to her depression (Cramer). Kenyon references no cure in the
epigraph of Having it Out with Melancholy, and A.P. Chekhov said, If many remedies are prescribed

also shows Kenyon s battle with the mental illness and how it wore her out. According to Kenyon,
Leukemia was a dreary continuous landscape of drips, injections, and pills; sleeplessness and long

Persuasive Essay On Why We Are Homeless
Throughout our cities streets we see a majority of people who are homeless everyday. What was once
almost a rare site to see, has now become something common and is increasing in great numbers. As a
society our first instinct when we see a homeless person is to ignore them and judge them based on
how they look and what they re doing. We don t seem to take into consideration that they may be
homeless based on their circumstances. Many people try to help those who are homeless, but it s not
enough. If we have laws that prevents people from being homeless, then shouldn t we have laws
enforcing resources for those who find themselves homeless? As a society we have many ways to help
those who desperately want and need the help. It would not be a matter of supporting them forever but
helping them and giving them the opportunity to get back on their feet. We have the ability to create a
system that offers people a second chance when life has knocked them down. In 2015 a study was
found where it was discovered that over five hundred thousand people in America alone were
experiencing homelessness in some way or another. Throughout those numbers we don t know how
many of them are children. Does that change the way we choose to look at the issue? Families who
have become homeless are also apart of those numbers and they are increasing rapidly. Homeless
families make up about forty percent of the homeless population. Homeless shelters are not all that

analysis proposal, I hope to ensure that the Dallas Cowboys receive defensive players that can play
and contribute to the beginning success of revitalized team. My proposal would look at filling the two
gaps left by the exits of the cornerbacks and strong safety. The Dallas Cowboys need players who can
perform at the level of the top players in those specific positions to ensure that success for the team
comes early. My proposal would look at three different sets of statistics to ensure a positive draft pick.
First, I would analyze the other thirty one teams within the National Football League, and deduct
based off of the statistics of the cornerback and strong safety position who is regarded as the top
players in that specific position. The Strong Safety is usually, well, strong, and fast. They are usually
responsible for covering TEs, RBs, and WRs and playing down the field, but are often expected to

Did you know that comparing the merit of lions and tigers has been a popular discussion amongst

aggressive than lions are. A single tiger will regularly take on game that is much stronger and far

another animal aside. Tiger s tend to go for the throat to kill whereas a lion would rather not fight. A
lion would rather roar and just pound the tiger and try to scare off his opponent if he can.
Rome s Colosseum was built in the first century A.D., and held thousands of gladiator games. Lions

the event usually showed the tiger winning. In addition, in the late 1800 s the Gaekwad of Baroda, an

African Americans and their challenges in the military
The challenges that African Americans had to face in the military during World War II African
Americans have had many difficult challenges in the military throughout history, from the beginning
of their service during the civil war, right up to present day. Probably the main challenges that African
Americans face in the military, regardless of the time in history, are dealing with racism and

The Supreme Court
The Supreme Court is responsible for making some of the most important cases that set the tone for
society, as it continually ensures that the Constitution remains the law of the land. Many landmark
decisions have been made by the court that have impacted society in some of the most significant
ways; some of these cases include Marbury v. Madison (1803), Brown v. Board of Education (1954),
Miranda v. Arizona (1966), and Roe v. Wade (1973). Key decisions that are being made don t simply
impact the plaintiffs and defendants; rather they continually impact the public and the present and
future of these issues that have been decided, setting the tone for the rest of us. These important
decisions that have and are being made continue to cause much controversy as not all will be agreed
on by the public or even other political figures/branches for that matter. And with the way that the
court is organized, specifically with lifetime tenure, it can easily make the decisions look to be
immune from public opinion. Yet, at this same time, the court must look at how society operates as
well as its norms and values, which are impacted by these decisions. And from that aspect, it doesn t
seem that public preference is completely thrown out the window; it takes the ability of the public to
identify these concerns/issues that need to be addressed, as is the case when it comes to public policy
making.
The nine justices of the Supreme Court make the most important decisions impacting the U.S.

The Comparison Of Teenage Slang
One popular trend that American adults notice is the use and variety of teenage slang. The teenage
slang trend had existed for a while, but with every new generation, words are being added on the list.
Often time on the news adults try to help parents decode the teen s language to understand what their
children are saying in text, the internet, and even in person. Teenage slag is a unique language that we
teens use to relate to each other. The slag is an important cultural value, because social media had
caused it to expand to not only the United States, but also teens all over the world are using the slang
to put more emphasis into what they are saying. The slang that we use helps the younger generation to
bond and relate to each other in text as well as in person. Teenage slang adds to the American cultural
values because it shows that as Americans we can be private and informal. As Americans, we tend to
value some things differently than other countries. Two examples of what we value are informality
and privacy. Especially in the teenage slang culture, teens tend to develop their own language simply
for the privacy of their parents. In the Values Americans Live By article it explains, In the United
States, privacy is not only seen as a very positive condition, but it is also viewed as a requirement that
all humans would find equally necessary, desirable and satisfying (Kohls). This sentence explains that
privacy is sometimes a good thing to have in American culture.

Marketing is the beginning of everything. An old saying states that nothing happens until a sale is

CPA (Cost Per Action) or (Cost Per Acquisition) advertising is performance based and is common in
the affiliate marketing sector of the business. In this payment scheme, the publisher takes all the risk
of running the ad, and the advertiser pays only for the amount of users who complete a transaction,
such as a purchase or sign up. This is the best type of rate to pay for banner advertisements and the
worst type of rate to charge.
o Similarly, CPL (Cost Per Lead) advertising is identical to CPA advertising and is based on the user
completing a form, registering for a newsletter or some other action that the merchant feels will lead
to a sale. o Also common, CPO (Cost Per Order) advertising is based on each time an order is
transacted. o CPE (Cost Per Engagement) model means advertising impressions are free and
advertisers pay only when a user engages with their specific ad unit. Engagement is defined as a user
interacting with an ad in any number of ways.

small bacteria, or germs. Hospitals are trying to integrate a system that only disinfects certain high risk
contamination areas of a hospital and simply cleaning others. Disinfecting both effectively eliminates
bacteria and mold (Reynolds) and causes the strengthening and disinfectant and antibiotic resistance
(Wilson). The Lysol advertisement glorifies the idea of cleaning our environment down to the micro
particle, without telling the dangers of creating increasingly antibiotic resistant microbial organisms
that can result from the liberal application of disinfectant in ones home. However, according to the
Journal of Food Production, the use of sanitization wipes in the food industry increase(s) the risk of
foreign body contamination... from [the] wipes themselves, and that wipes were less effective than gel
or foam sanitization options. Disinfecting agents shouldn t be a go to as far as household cleaners go,
but disinfecting wipes can actually create cross contamination in one s home, all while the user
believes they re creating a cleaner environment (Bartleson 2131 2132). The idea of accidentally over
cleaning doesn t apply solely to disinfectants in the home, but other common sanitizing agents in
public workplaces, restrooms,

Essay On Endocytic Pathway
In a departure from the general trend towards conservation with other fungi such as Sc, Ca, and Mo,
Cn appears to adapt a distinct Cin1 Wsp1 endocytic pathway for transport, growth, and virulence
{Shen, 2010 #5449} that is different from the Pan1 Las17/Bee1 pathway functioning in other fungi.
Both Cin1 and Wsp1 display domain structures more similar, but not identical, to human ITSN1 and
WASp than to Sc/Ca Pan1 and Las17/Bee1 {Shen, 2011 #5640;Shen, 2012 #5719}. These findings
inferred a unique intracellular transport process functioning in Cn and raised several intriguing
questions. Does Cn have only one endocytic pathway mediated by Cin1/Wsp1? As endocytic proteins
function by interacting with other proteins, what are the other ... Show more content on

It was also reported that the MATα strain could sustain dominance over the isogenic MATa strain in
the brain, raising an interesting aspect of virulence while substantiating the result of an early report
{Nielsen, 2005 #5284; Kwon Chung, 1992}. The intriguing finding that Cin1 S maintains a CNS
survival advantage provides a novel avenue to probe the CNS propensity of Cn. Finally, given the
importance of exRNA in cellular communications, it is tempting to speculate that Cin1 regulates
uptake and export of exRNA to play a role in host pathogen interactions and pathogenesis. Taken
together, we may possess an unprecedented system to probe the mechanisms of pathogenesis in Cn.
C. Approach Cn is a haploid basidiomycetous fungus with a defined life cycle. It also proves to be a
tractable research model in which classic and molecular approaches, as well as both in vitro and in
vivo models, are available for studying host pathogen interactions and pathogenesis. In addition,
genomic and proteomic approaches including microarray, whole transcriptome shotgun sequencing
(RNA Seq), and proteomics were all employed in studying pathogenesis of Cn {Perfect, 2012
#5739;Liu, 2014 #5807;Bruni, 2017 #5977}. The well established model organism and available
research resources will be invaluable for us to pursue our research goals.

Merced City Fire Incident Report
On 05/05/2018 at approximately 2121 hours the Merced City fire department responded to a
residential structure fire at 456 Brimmer Road, Merced, CA 95341. Fire department personnel arrived
on scene and discovered the rear side of the residence was engulfed flames. In the course of
attempting to control the fire, firefighters were able to see grow lights and marijuana in the rooms of
the residence. The fire department contacted the Merced Police Department to investigate. Merced
Police Officers contacted the Merced Area Gang and Narcotic Enforcement Team (M.A.G.N.E.T.)
Sergeant Rodney Court. Sergeant Court told me the entire back side of the residence was destroyed,
and that the back two rooms were used to cultivate marijuana. Sergeant Court also told me there were
another 100 80 marijuana plants being cultivated in the front two rooms of the residence. Sergeant
Court also told me he saw grow lights, electrical cords, fans and air filters inside the residence, all
consistent with an indoor marijuana cultivation site. Sergeant Court also told me that fire department
officials believed there could possibly be an electrical bypass in the electrical box of the residence,
used to steal electricity for their cultivation equipment. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
I also know from prior training and experience the lights used to cultivate the marijuana consume
large amounts of electricity, and therefore people who cultivate marijuana often times utilize illegal
electrical bypasses in violation of 591 PC to steal electricity for their equipment. With the information
provided to me by Sergeant Court I believe the person(s) inside the residence at 456 Brimmer Road,
Merced, California are attempting and in the process of cultivating marijuana in violation of 11358

Cost Analysis and sensitivity controlling factors
Number of units/TEU
In this specific case, the cost of Zaragoza might be higher than the Rotterdam option, however,
varying the number of units/TEU has an impact on this analysis.
If the number of units/TEU increases, the lesser holding cost of Zaragoza mitigates the higher
transportation cost of Zaragoza. Also, the transportation cost of Zaragoza comes down if the number
of units/TEU or number of units/Truckload increases.
Hence, the number of units/ TEU plays a pivotal role in considering which option to go with (with the
assumption rest all parameters remain same).
In our excel model we tried to determine the no: of units/TEU at which the cost of the Option 2
(Zaragoza) is lower than cost of option 1 (Rotterdam) by varying the number of units/TEU (J 13 cell
in excel model) and finding the influx point at which the cost difference becomes positive (E 69 cell in
excel model).
We found out that at the point of 1TEU = 443 units, the difference becomes positive .i.e Zaragoza
option becomes cheaper from this point onwards.

The Plagues And Profits Of Polarization
The Plagues and Profits of Polarization In 1796, in his Farewell Address, George Washington warned
against the party passions that weaken public administration, afflict the community, promote
animosity between different sectors, and as a result, render the American nation vulnerable to foreign
invasion. Political polarization is most simply defined as the divide between Liberals and
Conservatives or between Republicans and Democrats. According to measurements from DW
NOMINATE, a system that gives politicians a score based on how liberal or conservative they are,
polarization has been rising steadily for the past four decades. The general consensus among scholars
is that the United States has not heeded the first president s warning; ... Show more content on

His collected data show that Obama has seen much polarization throughout his two terms, but his
predecessor, George W. Bush, also received a similar amount. This shows that the divide between
voters has been increasing for at least over a decade . At times, rising polarization gives the impression
that the American nation has disintegrated, but many political scientists argue that although our nation
has its flaws, polarization is not the problem. Political scientist, Alan I. Abramowitz, is especially
adamant about the manners in which polarization profits American democracy. He admits that
polarization can lead to immature mudslinging, but presents this as a small downside to the important
and essential benefits it provides. In his opinion, polarization can be a solution to legislative gridlock
in congress. Polarization between different parties leads to party discipline within a party because it
moves the moderates in a party further left or further right. Abramowitz claims that this can overcome
procedures, such as the filibuster, that actually inhibit the law making processes. Additionally he
believes that polarization manifests party lines, making it less complicated for American citizens to
associate with a specific side, which as a consequence, encourages them to vote and discuss their
political views with others. Shaun Theriault adopts a similar view. He decries the name calling and

Methods of Evangelism
Part ONE Evangelistic Method #1
Of the two evangelistic intellectual methods, I have chosen to research the Four Spiritual Laws. Bill
Bright wrote, Just as there are physical laws that govern how the physical universe, so are there
spiritual laws that govern your relationship with God. This method is most used in presenting the
Gospel to someone because it is simpler. Bill Bright, the founder of Campus Crusade for Christ,
originally wrote this as a booklet. This booklet was designed to help individuals to be more effectual
in their witness for Jesus. The Four Spiritual Laws are used to convict, convince, and convert. The
Laws are as followed:
Law 1: God ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It is the most effective way of winning souls. This method should be used on people, whom one
interact with the most, people who know someone and see them on a regular basis. Lifestyle
evangelism creates a nurturing environment to extend an invitation to Christ. This means an
unbeliever will feel a sense of belonging before becoming a believer. Research has shown that a non
believer would be likely to give a believer the opportunity to share their faith, when the believer s life
has proven that their words are sincere, and life altering. In this way, the non believer would feel a
sense of worth before they expose themselves to the Inspired Word.
There are some advantages to using the Lifestyle Relational method. In particular, the Father sent
Jesus to be the absolute light, to be an example, and demonstrate how people of God should live. We
should be living proof that Our Father is who he says he is; that Christ truly is the Son who freed
people from slavery to self; and that the Holy Spirit honestly can transform our life. This is truly an
advantage affirmation. This example of showing is not a substitute for telling. If words were all we
used to explain the gospel, then people would never understand it enough to submit to Jesus.
However, showing a person is a necessary preparation for telling. People will always buy into your
words when your actions back them up. We must live a life that

Anorexia And Society
Fed Up With Society
Eating Disorders have the highest mortality rate of any mental illness. For women ages 15 24 the
mortality rate for anorexia is twelve times higher than any other cause of death ( 11 Facts ). An eating
disorder is a psychological disorder that involves abnormal or disturbed eating behaviors, such as
anorexia nervosa. They are so common in the U.S. that 1 or 2 out of every 100 children struggle with
an eating disorder (Kidshealth).
Admittedly, many would agree that people can be motivated to lead a healthier life by the unrealistic
body images that society and social media project on people worldwide. The University of
Pennsylvania Annenberg School for Communication did a study on how social media affects people

In particular, Kylie Jenner is seventeen years old and is worth 2.7 million dollars. Jenner has had
numerous plastic surgeries, but she is most notorious for her lip injections. Soon after many of her
follower started the Kylie Jenner lip challenge . The challenge is to get a cup and put it around your
lips. You suck in to create a good amount of pressure and keep it there for a while. After a while of
this, blood will rush into your lips and make them bigger (reddit). This extreme lip challenge led to
many injuries and in some cases resulted into going to the hospital. Celebrities have the funds to
afford plastic surgeries and the most expensive cosmetics, but the average women may not have the
money to afford such things, which is why many women take drastic measures. Celebrities such as
Nicole Richie, Jennifer Aniston , and Lindsay Lohan are currently some of the skinniest celebrities
(Sheila Joseph). All three of these have also had plastic surgery. This proves that the more money and
endorsements you have the easier it is to stay beautiful . Therefore, women without money have to
resort to eating disorders to achieve the body of the celebrity they idol. In conclusion because of the
way the fashion industry distorts women, the way young girls are convinced their is a perfect body by
the toys they play with,

  • 2. Whale Hunting In Makah Culture The debate in this article can be really boiled down to people s view of animal rights and cultural rights (Van Grinkel, 2004). For fifteen hundred years the Makah having been conducting whale hunts with it being one of the main aspects of their culture. In 1855 a treaty was signed in which they forfeited thousands of acres of their land to the federal government in exchange for the ability to continue their whale hunts. However, in the 1920s traditional whale hunting by the Makah stopped for a variety of reasons. In 1937 grey whaling was official out lawed. Fast forward to 1995 when the Makah culture wanted to resume the traditional whale hunting. After some intense legal battles with the government they were allowed too. In 1999 after some extremely fierce protesting they finally managed to get a whale. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The first was a resurgence of the Makah culture. They relearned all the ways their ancestors did this hunt. This was not just the tools for the hunt but the spiritual aspects such as the releasing of the whale s soul and the wives symbolically representing the actual whales during the hunts. While the effects from the whale hunt for the culture were good some negative ones arose from the public. The public believed that this hunt was immoral and barbaric because they wanted to protect the whale. The hunt was almost complete based on traditional practices except for a rifle they used to instantly kill the whale after it has been caught. The protestors were angry about that but they didn t consider how much more humane it was to kill the whale like that. While orginally it was under guise of protecting the whales it turned to blatant racism when they called the Makah savages, barbarians, and other derogatory ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 3. Country Vs Pop Music Country vs. Pop: Which One Is On Top? Country and Pop music are both popular genres, but which one is better? This decision is tough to make since there are various similarities of to why both are great genres of music. There is also a variety of factors to show the differences between these two genres as well. Research has shown light to the conclusion of to which genre exceeds the other. The things that both genres can be judged on is how they came to be, their fanbase, and the top hits. The origination of Country, compared to Pop music is very different. Country music came to be in 1910 when an ethnomusicologist, John Lomax, published Cowboy Songs and Other Frontier Ballads . The first major musician, Carl Sprague, recorded cowboy songs. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... According to the iTunes charts the number one music video that is taking over the charts at the moment is Taylor Swift s song called Blank Space . Throughout the list there is not a country song until number twenty one with Girl In A Country Song by Maddie and Tae. Between the two it clearly shows that the videos are different in the ways they were filmed and how they portrayed the song and it s meaning. Taylor Swift went for a video that was like a story and went along with the song, while Maddie and Tae s music video showed that they were trying to prove a point about the stereotype of a country girl. According to the iTune s charts for the songs, Blank Space by Taylor Swift was number one also. A country song was located farther down in the list at number thirty one with Shotgun Rider by Tim McGraw. Both genres are making it onto the charts, but country music is lower in the ranking compared to the pop genre. The results of these rankings are from online purchases, which is why these rankings may be biased to some extent. The reason for this is, yet again, that the pop genre fan base is more electronically educated than the country fan base and it may be a point as to why songs are ranked the way they ... • 4. The Pros And Cons Of Guerilla Warfare Insurgency must not be jumbled up with terrorism as they overlap somehow but are totally different entities. These two such concepts probably lead to more confusion than any other thing. Guerilla warfare and insurgencies are often inferred to be similar with terrorism. One rationale for this is that insurgencies has similar targets as that of terrorism. However, if we examine specific differences, a prime difference is that an insurgency is a movement against the authorities with specific aim. Its motive is to challenge the government regarding control of certain parts of its territory and for that they require some support of the population, on the contrary, a terror group does not require active support of the population. It just works for ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It is a creative force, not an antagonistic one in some scenarios. If their approach is to improve the spaces that belong to all of us, then that is the positive aspect of such movements. Taking a very small example like installing temporary seating at bus stops, for people who are fed up of waiting for bus, after their jobs and stay standing. When the authorities take no step to accommodate them, that s when the guerillas come in. I won t naively support such acts as profound, or say that they have the strength to solve the deep rooted problems in our cities, but the spirit of the guerilla urbanists to fix small issues in appreciable ways should be appreciated. These are the acts that lay the foundation of a reformatory movement, for the betterment of locales. They change the direction of our vision towards the city. Guerrilla urbanists are not given the reform projects by the government like turning roads into sidewalks and setting up shop in vacant buildings, which is illegal in most cities. Gradually though, some governments have approved these projects after witnessing the positive public reception they gain. Others have gone further and initiated such projects themselves, one of the most famous examples is pedestrianizing Times Square in New York ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 5. A Note On The Bridge Loan A bridge loan has nothing to with bridges; it is a short term loan from a bank or other lender. For any business owner the knowledge of bridge loans may mean the difference between failure or success of a business venture. Commercial bridge loans are also known as hard money loans and they are used by business owners as a stop gap arrangement while a permanent loan is being secured. Even though home owners sometimes use bridge financing between the time they purchase or sell their homes, it is more frequently used by business people to refinance or purchase all types of commercial properties including commercial real estate. Today commercial bridge loans are being used for financing a wide range of commercial properties including hotels, factories, industrial properties, retail businesses and commercial properties having a variety of uses. Essentially a bridge loan is used for bridging the current gap between a buyer s immediate need for cash for closing a deal and the availability of a long term loan package for financing the deal. The terms of bridge loans are short and vary between 12 to 36 months. After that period the long term lower cost permanent financing package, usually from the same lender, takes its place. Like other types of loans bridge loans also have their benefits and drawbacks. One of the major benefits of most bridge loans is that they are designed to close very quickly. This makes them very useful when fast cash is required to close a commercial ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 6. Naval Athens and the Rise of Athenian Democracy Essay There is no coincidence that the rise of Athenian Democracy goes chronologically hand in hand with the rise of the Athenian Navy. Following the defeat of the Persians by the Greeks, Athens naval successes allow it to surpass the previous naval power of Corinth; create the Delian league to fund and support this navy; and eventually ruffle enough feathers with their fellow Hellenic neighbours that they inspire the Peloponnesian war. Overall their naval reputation and intimidation comes from the skill of the men who maneuver and command the ships, and the tool they use to wield their power, the Athenian trireme. By looking at the design of the trireme, and the work and numbers put both into the ship and the men that drive it, hopefully ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... TRIREMES AND SHIPBUILDING Triremes were unfortunately had to make stops on shore nightly whenever possible, because they ship needed to dry out and the crew would be given time to rest and eat without being confined to the smaller space available in the trireme (Jordan 1975). This was not always the case though; there is a recalling of a time when a trireme did have to sail through the night, when one ship had to catch up to the trireme headed to Mytilene (Jordan 1975). This type of travel was possible with a trireme, but it would sail slightly slower since men had to take turns rowing, eating barley cakes and wine (Thucydides 1996)(3.49.4), and sleeping, since they had not enough room for everyone to take a break at once. Another example is when they couldn t anchor at Pylos, men took their meals on shore in their turn (4.26.3)(Thucydides 1996). This would not have done any harsh damage to the ship in small amounts, but if it were to travel this way consistently there would be definite problems with ship maintenance. To actually build a trireme, it consisted of a number of different types of resources and uniquely skilled laborers. The ship was built shell first , meaning the side planks were constructed before laying in the backbone , keel, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Instead of fighting against this persecution by the United States, she chose to remain silent and hidden within the confines of her Japanese culture. As a Nisei, second generation Japanese American, Janice begins to question her role as a woman in American in society. She wants to break the tradition of silence and speak out against the defined role that society has laid out for her. She makes attempts to do this in her own mind so that she can pass this knowledge on to her daughter, but she seems unable to do so. In the poem, she expresses her discontent at remaining silent and hopes that she can convey this yearning to break tradition, and be heard in society, to her daughter. Before she can express these sentiments to her sansei daughter, she realizes that her daughter was able to break this chain of silence that was passed down to her and find her self identity on her own. She seems to be unaware of the confinements of either culture and seems to have no problem in expressing herself or in embracing her American culture. A ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Mr. Harvey was the type of man to think all kinds of kooky and abstract things. He liked to think of how there had only ever been one yellow paddle boat for hire amongst the numerous blue down at the rivers dock. He thought of how on cheery spring days the children would beg their parents to leave a few minutes earlier to snatch it up before the other kids did. He used to watch them for hours, the amusement on their faces riding along the steady waters laughing at the other children because they got stuck in the boring blue paddle boats. Time was funny like that he thought. Getting to the docks those couple moments earlier than the other children, granted hours of joy because their yellow boat happened to bet better than all the blues. He also thought them absurd, to Mr. Harvey colours were just colours, not measures of happiness. But he knew the youths naivety was all that made them young. He thought about Delilah s Deli which sat directly below his scungy old flat back in 1945. He used to pick up one punnet of sun dried tomatoes, a 250g block of cheese and a small jar of pitted black olives every Sunday morning at exactly 9:05, purely because that was when their stock was fresh and was guaranteed to last the week. An old saying states that nothing happens until a sale is made, and that is true. But until someone does some marketing, there is nothing to sell, and no premise on which to sell it. Marketing is the eyes and ears of the company, tuned to the customer, and to competition. It is the driving force behind new products, behind the promotion and advertising and all of the other communications about the new products. This is one of the most popular models used. CPA (Cost Per Action) or (Cost Per Acquisition) advertising is performance based and is common in the affiliate marketing sector of the business. In this payment scheme, the publisher takes all the risk of running the ad, and the advertiser pays only for the amount of users who complete a transaction, such as a purchase or sign up. This is the best type of rate to pay for banner advertisements and the worst type of rate to charge. o Similarly, CPL (Cost Per Lead) advertising is identical to CPA advertising and is based on the user completing a form, registering for a newsletter or some other action that the merchant feels will lead to a sale. o Also common, CPO (Cost Per Order) advertising is based on each time an order is transacted. o CPE (Cost Per Engagement) model means advertising impressions are free and advertisers pay only when a user engages with their specific ad unit. Engagement is defined as a user interacting with an ad in any number of ways. List of top online advertisement server vendors in 2008

Lysol Adverts Keeping a Clean Conscious How a Lysol Advertisement Promotes Germophobia and the Growth of Disinfectant Resistant Bacteria A thirty second Canadian Lysol commercial that aired in 2010 opens to the sounds of happy xylophone tones and slow, calm guitar chords. It shows a white appearing, early to mid 20 s, able bodied and skinny woman. She has a black mid level ponytail that stretches to her mid back and a modest lavender colored shirt with short, ruffled sleeves. Vice President of AFFLINK, Michael Wilson claims that if bacteria are being constantly exposed to disinfectant, it can mutate to become resistant to them as well as resistant to antibiotics. Wilson works to make different supply chains more efficient, and realized that hospitals are over disinfecting where they need to only be cleaning. It s important to note that cleaning and disinfection are different processes. Cleaning typically involves soap or a detergent and removes things that can be physically seen such as dirt, food from a plate, or stains. Disinfecting involves chemically denaturing microbes, small bacteria, or germs. Hospitals are trying to integrate a system that only disinfects certain high risk contamination areas of a hospital and simply cleaning others. Disinfecting both effectively eliminates bacteria and mold (Reynolds) and causes the strengthening and disinfectant and antibiotic resistance (Wilson). The Lysol advertisement glorifies the idea of cleaning our environment down to the micro particle, without telling the dangers of creating increasingly antibiotic resistant microbial organisms that can result from the liberal application of disinfectant in ones home. However, according to the Journal of Food Production, the use of sanitization wipes in the food industry increase(s) the risk of foreign body contamination... from [the] wipes themselves, and that wipes were less effective than gel or foam sanitization options. Disinfecting agents shouldn t be a go to as far as household cleaners go, but disinfecting wipes can actually create cross contamination in one s home, all while the user believes they re creating a cleaner environment (Bartleson 2131 2132). The idea of accidentally over cleaning doesn t apply solely to disinfectants in the home, but other common sanitizing agents in public workplaces, restrooms, ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

  • 45. In this specific case, the cost of Zaragoza might be higher than the Rotterdam option, however, varying the number of units/TEU has an impact on this analysis. If the number of units/TEU increases, the lesser holding cost of Zaragoza mitigates the higher transportation cost of Zaragoza. Also, the transportation cost of Zaragoza comes down if the number of units/TEU or number of units/Truckload increases. Hence, the number of units/ TEU plays a pivotal role in considering which option to go with (with the assumption rest all parameters remain same). In our excel model we tried to determine the no: of units/TEU at which the cost of the Option 2 (Zaragoza) is lower than cost of option 1 (Rotterdam) by varying the number of units/TEU (J 13 cell in excel model) and finding the influx point at which the cost difference becomes positive (E 69 cell in excel model). Political polarization is most simply defined as the divide between Liberals and Conservatives or between Republicans and Democrats. His collected data show that Obama has seen much polarization throughout his two terms, but his predecessor, George W. Bush, also received a similar amount. This shows that the divide between voters has been increasing for at least over a decade . At times, rising polarization gives the impression that the American nation has disintegrated, but many political scientists argue that although our nation has its flaws, polarization is not the problem. Political scientist, Alan I. Abramowitz, is especially adamant about the manners in which polarization profits American democracy. He admits that polarization can lead to immature mudslinging, but presents this as a small downside to the important and essential benefits it provides. In his opinion, polarization can be a solution to legislative gridlock in congress. Polarization between different parties leads to party discipline within a party because it moves the moderates in a party further left or further right. Abramowitz claims that this can overcome procedures, such as the filibuster, that actually inhibit the law making processes. Additionally he believes that polarization manifests party lines, making it less complicated for American citizens to associate with a specific side, which as a consequence, encourages them to vote and discuss their political views with others. Lifestyle evangelism creates a nurturing environment to extend an invitation to Christ. This means an unbeliever will feel a sense of belonging before becoming a believer. Research has shown that a non believer would be likely to give a believer the opportunity to share their faith, when the believer s life has proven that their words are sincere, and life altering. In this way, the non believer would feel a sense of worth before they expose themselves to the Inspired Word. There are some advantages to using the Lifestyle Relational method. In particular, the Father sent Jesus to be the absolute light, to be an example, and demonstrate how people of God should live. We should be living proof that Our Father is who he says he is; that Christ truly is the Son who freed people from slavery to self; and that the Holy Spirit honestly can transform our life.
