program today. Two important logicians who have contributed a great amount to the study of logic are
Aristotle and Gottlob Frege. Aristotle is one of the many great ancient Greek philosophers who are
mentioned throughout many textbooks. He was a student of the Plato (Aristocles) and a teacher to
Alexander the Great. He has contributed to the studies of science, philosophy, and logic. Although he
may have made vital contributions to the study of logic, his ideals have been reversed or significantly
dispelled by the ideology of modern logic. Two men who showed the limitations of Aristotle s logic
are Gottlob Frege and Bertrand Russell. His contributions to logic vary in many different sections of

In the case Terry v. Ohio, the defendant John Terry argued that his Fourth Amendment right was
violated when a police officer conducted a search on him, and found a concealed weapon. According
to the officer, he had been monitoring Terry s actions prior to the stop in fear of his safety, thus, had
enough reasonable suspicion to stop and search the defendant. The Supreme Court decided to rule in
favor of the state determining that the officer may stop and frisk any suspicious person when he feels
that his safety or those of others are in danger. A Terry Stop is when the police are allowed to stop,

In Margaret Atwood s novel Surfacing, memories and forgetting are large themes, which show that
memories are what truly define a person and are exceedingly important to the healing process. One
way in which memories are prevalent throughout the novel is in the narrator s flashbacks to her
supposed husband. These flashbacks show how the narrator has created fabricated memories, and she
experiences suffering and frustration from this, showing how the narrator does not feel whole as a
person without the true memories of her past. When the narrator finally does remember all that has
happened to her, she realizes that she needs to deal with these memories in order to achieve healing.
In the beginning of Surfacing, the narrator remembers very few actual true memories, and has created
