Parking Restrictions For A Condominium
What every Condominium Association needs to know about Parking Restrictions
The enforcement of parking restrictions is one of the most problems that condominium associations
and property managers are forced to deal with. In densely packed urban areas, parking spaces are
often at premium in condominiums and issues arise when co owners fail to park in their designated
areas. In contrast, suburban site condominiums with single family homes often face parking issues
related to parking boats, commercial vehicles or inoperable vehicles in driveways or on the street.
Accordingly, given the vast array of potential parking issues that can arise in a condominium,
condominium associations and property managers need to be prepared to ... Show more content on

While the Michigan Condominium Act does not have any specific provisions that regulate parking,
MCL 559.156(a) states that the condominium bylaws may contain provisions that are deemed
appropriate for the administration of the condominium project not inconsistent with this act or any
other applicable laws. However, any condominium bylaws that are related to parking must be
reasonable. Slatterly v Madiol, 257 Mich App 242, 256; 668 NW2d 154, 163 (2003) ( Bylaws must be
reasonable in themselves as well as in their practical application. ). Finally, even if the condominium
bylaws are silent with respect to adopting any specific parking standards or not specific, most
condominium bylaws allow for the condominium board to adopt reasonable rules and regulations that
govern the use of the common elements. Meadow Bridge Condo Ass n v Bosca, 187 Mich App 280,
282; 466 NW2d 303, 304 (1990) ( ...the board has the authority to promulgate reasonable rules and
regulations. ). Accordingly, prior to taking any action with respect to enforcing parking restrictions,
condominium boards and property managers should determine whether the condominium bylaws
and/or rules adequately address parking issues or whether amendments are needed. Common issues
that should be addressed in the condominium bylaws or parking rules are as

What Is Reducing Crime Through A Targeted Literacy Program
I, Gracie Woodyard, as the president of this fraternity select Reducing Crime through a Targeted
Literacy Program as the sole recipient of our funds to combat youth drug crime in our community.
While all three proposals gave strong arguments as to why their organization should receive our funds,
programs similar to that stated in proposal two by Marcia Brady, John Walton, and Samantha Stephens
have shown more success in the reduction of drug related crimes when compared to the law and order
techniques used by the Drug Abuse Resistance Education (DARE) which is described in proposal one
and the presence of neighborhood patrols described in proposal three. The strongest argument made in

Due to this piece of evidence and the statement made earlier, I believed I had enough information to
eliminate proposal three, Increasing Citizens Patrol Efforts in High Drug Crime Neighborhoods ,
which was also going to use the funds to equip their patrol teams with uniforms, radios, and other
equipment rather than investing it into education and prevention materials necessary to combat youth
drug crime.
After eliminating proposal three, I sat down to compare the effectiveness of Project DARE described
in proposal one and the literacy program described in proposal two. After further research it came to
my attention that despite DARE [becoming] America s most popular drug education program , [t]he
effectiveness of [DARE] has yet to be demonstrated (Rosenbaum, Flewelling, Bailey, Ringwalt, and
Wilkinson 3 31). With this information I further examined proposal one by Ronald Smith and Kendra

past ten years this statement in conjunction with the previous findings led me to question whether our
funds would truly help to make a difference. After ten years of

Describe The Key Features Of Popular Culture In The 1960s
Popular Culture in Britain at the Beginning of the 1960s
In this essay I will describe the key features of popular culture in Britain at the beginning of the 1960s.
In the late 40 50s, life was drab, uniform and restrained. People generally had a low standard of living
as a result of the Second World War. This was formally known as austerity. There were also people
during this time period who were known as angry young men . These people complained about
society, without having any concrete suggestions on how things should be improved. Popular culture
is a rather broad term, but it generally meant the changes that were associated with the 60s. This era is
famously known as Sex, Drugs Rock n ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Something society soon considered important was the Pill, which allowed women more sexual
freedom. Another thing that gave women independence was the legalisation of abortions.
Teenagers in the 1950s 1960s had a disposable income, most of it spent on entertainment. This saw
many young people dressing up on a Friday night coming home legless the following morning, as
illustrated in the film Saturday Night, Sunday Morning .
A popular pop icon was the famous Elvis Presley who most teenagers looked up to.
This resulted in a lot of people gradually being influenced by the USA i.e. sitcoms and music.
An angry young man was generally a person that was discontent with society, without necessarily
having any concrete ideas about how things should be improved.
In the late 1950 s and early Sixties America dominated the music industry; the British music scene,
while established (Cliff Richard, Tommy Steele, etc.), tended to imitate American trends and styles. In
the mid fifties a breakthrough in music technology (the seven inch single) exposed a higher multitude
of people to the musical culture due to its affordability, and versatility to requirements. If you could
not afford a seven inch single then establishments often sold them second hand after they had been
played on a jukebox system. The music industry s expansion into the visual entertainment sector
introduced an

What Is Shamanism
Defining the term shamanism is a difficult task, as to this day there exists no single agreed on
definition among anthropologists. Therefore, this paper will attempt at creating its own definition
applicable to the findings discussed, in order to eliminate any confusion. Etymologically, the word
shaman is derived from the Evenki word šamán, which is thought to relate to the Tungus root ša ,
meaning to know. The Russians adopted the term after hearing it used by Tungusian tribes when they
conquered eastern Siberia in the second half of the 20th Century. Thereafter, the word spread to
western Europe via the Dutch, after accompanying a Russian Embassy to China.
It was first used by western anthropologists to describe the ancient religion ... Show more content on

In Shamanic rituals, psychoactive substances are used as entheogens; drugs used in religious contexts
to enter the trance, previously discussed. Shamans from diverse cultures even speak of opening a hole
in the head to allow spirit to come in. In Shamanism, it is believed that drugs expand one s
consciousness, allowing the user to understand the greater context of his existence. Thereby, the
shaman can release his personal emotions and biases, as they become irrelevant in the grand scheme
he witnesses. However, there lies a distinction between recreationally using a drug and doing so in a
Shamanic ritual. The words and songs the shaman sings when preparing and taking the drug in, cause
the drug to become more powerful due to the union created between the shaman and the plant spirit. It
is believed that while power animals are available to anyone, plant spirits only help shamans.
Additionally, the music, which accompanies Shamanic rituals allows the shaman to avoid frightening
experiences caused by the drugs that initiate his

Essay about The Evolution of Shakespeare s Henry V
The Evolution of Shakespeare s Henry V
Foremost among the characters William Shakespeare develops in his series of historical plays is,
undoubtedly, the character of Henry V. Henry, also at times referred to as Harry or Hal, develops
through the course of four plays: Richard II, I Henry IV, II Henry IV, and Henry V. From the brief
mention of Henry in Richard II to the full focus upon him in Henry V, a dramatic change clearly takes
place: the playful carousing youth portrayed in the first play develops into a King and conqueror by
the conclusion of the final play. In order to truly examine his development however, one must examine
the growth and eventual fusion of two undeniable separate characters: the prince Henry, and the youth
Hal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In I Henry IV, when we finally meet Hal, the image presented in Richard II becomes conflicted. We
see Hal placed in an environment one might expect based upon the comments in Richard II the Boar s
Head Taven but he delivers a soliloquy which stands in stark contrast with the Hal we expected. While
this soliloquy in which declares his tavern dwelling to be a mere ruse to gain influence lends credence
to Hal s Machiavellian image, the context and the precise nature of the speech makes it difficult to
extend that line of reasoning and label him a Machiavel. Thus, when Hal states
By so much shall I falsify men s hopes,
And like bright metal on a sullen ground,
My reformation, glitt ring o er my fault,
Shall show more goodly and attract more eyes
Than that which hath no foil to set it off (I Henry IV I.iii.211)
That same moment can be said to be the foundation for the development of the separate identity of
Henry. Though childishly unwilling to accept his fate on one level, he is clearly preparing himself for
the responsibilities of the throne on another level. When he chooses to return the stolen goods from
the Boar s Head heist, he is allowing his noble virtues to surface. These developing and arguably
primitive virtues contest greatly with the separate character of Hotspur, an individual largely defined
by his honor. Thus, in

Role Of Grp170a In C. Elegans
GRP170 is large protein that belong to the HSP70 superfamily of molecular chaperones that are
located in the lumen of the endoplasmic reticulum, these class of proteins assist with properly folding
polypeptides into proteins, these chaperones are also utilized in the Unfolded Protein response in the
endoplasmic reticulum. Caenorhabditis elegans contain two paralogues of the GRP170 gene,
GRP170a and GRP170a. The expressions of these two loci of the gene occur at different instances and
are induced at different rates. A few studies suggest that grp170a plays a critical role in ER protein
folding, while Grp170b plays a less critical role in protein folding and is inducible by the unfolded
protein response. In order to assay the physiological ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
UPR signaling is activated when the influx of nascent and unfolded proteins exceeds the processing
capacity of the endoplasmic reticulum (Schroder, Kaufman 2005).
One class of chaperones are heat shock protein (HSP) 70 superfamily, which represent a major class of
chaperones (Easton 2000). Endoplasmic reticulum homologs of these chaperones include Grp170 and
Grp78 (Easton 2000). Due to the similarities in structure it is said that Grp170 might have a similar
function to Grp78(Easton 2000). The endoplasmic homolog of HSP70, GRP78 is said to function as a
chaperone in the ER that aids with the folding of nascent polypeptides (Malhotra, 2007). Although the
cellular functions of Grp170 are not fully understood, data suggests that it can bind to a variety of
incompletely folded polypeptides present in the ER and acts like a chaperone (Behnke , Hendershoot
2013) similar to Grp78.
Caenorhabditis elegans have two loci encoding the chaperone Grp170, Grp170a and Grp170b. During
ER stress, these two Grp loci are expressed differently in C. elegans (Rockwell 2015). The expression
of grp170 mRNA was analyzed in nematodes deficient for either loci; the results

CHAPTER 1
BANK CAPITAL MANAGEMENT CAPITAL ADEQUACY FRAMEWORK
INTRODUCTION
Bank capital is often defined in tiers or categories that include shareholders equity, retained earnings,
reserves, hybrid capital instruments, and subordinated term debt. Capital ratios are commonly
measured as a percent of bank assets or risk weighted bank assets.
Bank capital serves as an important cushion against unexpected losses. It creates a strong ... Show

Banks list their capital adequacy ratios in their financial reports. The CAR is important to shareholders
because it is an important measure of the financial soundness of a bank.
Two types of capital are measured with the CAR. The first, tier 1 capital, can absorb a reasonable
amount of loss without forcing the bank to cease its trading. The second type, tier 2 capital, can
sustain loss in the event of liquidation. Tier 2 capital provides less protection to its depositors.
Because of the nature of risk under which banks operate, capital regulations require banks to maintain
a minimum level of equity per loans and other assets. This required minimum is designed for
protection, allowing banks to sustain unanticipated losses. The minimum is also designed to offer
depositors confidence in the security of their deposits given the asymmetric information.
An individual depositor cannot know if a bank has taken risks beyond what it can absorb.
Thus, depositors receive a level of assurance from shareholders equity, along with regulations, audits
and credit ratings.
The amount of equity a bank receives from shareholders sets the limit on the value of deposits it can
attract. This also limits the extent to which the bank can lend money. If a bank sustains large losses
through credit or trading, eroding the bank s net worth, this causes a decreased fund base through
which a bank can offer loans.
The CAR provides

The Tale Of The Wife Of Bath Or Dame Alison
The tale of the wife of Bath or Dame Alison is well suited to her because of the following reasons,
Through the prologue of the Wife of Bath, we learned that Dame Allison knows how to manipulate
men with their ideals, in the prologue, she explained her ideals about man, and woman relationship,
also, she used some characters from the bible and scriptures to prove her different point of view in her
arguments. The same does the ugly wife in her tale when she is convincing he husband about loving
her without carrying the fact that she is ugly and poor. For example, the ugly wife explained to her
husband about how Jesus being the king of heaven came to earth and choose to be poor. also, she
mentioned how the philosophers like Seneca said that you

The Island Of The Galapagos Archipeggio
Isabela Island, the largest island of the Galápagos archipeggio, seemed to rise straight out of the water.
The sedimentary rock cliffs were rusty brown, but were covered with life. Red and black crabs rested
on the surface, while blue footed boobies gracefully dived into the water to catch sardines. Baby nazca
boobies peered out of their nests to see a small inflatable boat, known as a panga, bobbing in the
water. Our guide, Christina, enthusiastically shared her knowledge of these animals to my family. This
wildlife viewing boat ride was our plan for the afternoon. But things changed. As things always
change.
The sun was starting to set in the west, over the Bolivar Channel. The sea seemed calm, but a bird
would occasionally skim the surface. My family and I watched the horizon intently. The Bolivar
Channel was known for having the best marine wildlife viewings in the Galápagos. In the far distance,
water was displaced. Mist flew in the air, forming the shape of a miniature fountain. Could it be a
whale spout? Or was it just my imagination? Quietly, I told my sister Raley. However, it was not quiet
enough. Christina heard and immediately started to scour the area with her binoculars. What if there
was no marine life in the area? I was convinced I would die of embarrassment.
Suddenly, Christina dropped her binoculars.
I see it! It s a whale spout!
Immediately, our panga raced off full speed to the location of the whale spout. However, as we inched

The iodine uptake with hyperthyroidism is greater than normal. This means that the body produces too
much thyroid, meaning there is too much thyroid absorbing the iodine. This causes the iodine up take
to be too much.

Hypothyroidism can affect the body temperature because it slows down the metabolism. This causes
the energy produced to be less. With that being said, the bodies functions slow down so the body
temperature drops.
b. heart rate
Hypothyroidism decreases the heart rate. This is because the body functions slow down. When the
body functions slow down, the heart doesn t need to work as hard and as fast to maintain homeostasis.
4. State how hyperthyroidism affects each of the following and describe the mechanism by which this

Compare And Contrast English Colonization And Spanish...
From the mid 1500 s to the 1700 s, people from all over Europe flocked to the vast lands of North
America. Spain and England quickly became the most dominant European presences in the Americas.
Citizens of the two countries had very different experiences in the New World. This was partially due
to their different interactions with Native Americans, religions and their different motivations for
coming to the New World. Although rivals at the time, Spain and England s colonization efforts shared
many similarities. Motivation for coming to the New World greatly influenced Spanish and British
colonization. The Spanish are said to have had three distinct reasons; God, glory and gold. God
meaning the conversion of natives, glory meaning the claiming of new land for the Spanish empire
and gold meaning the desire to find gold to bring wealth back to Spain. The British colony of
Jamestown shared the desire to find gold. Unlike the Spaniards, the British didn t plan on permanently
settling in America. However, these plans changed and Jamestown became a settlement. ... Show more

The British relied on the Algonquians to exchange goods for food, and to teach them how to survive
on the strange land. The Spaniards took advantage of the Pueblos, forcing them to work on farms and
to follow their religion. In the end, both relationships with the Native Americans fell apart. Pueblo
Indians became tired of being treated so poorly, and launched attacks on the Spaniards. In contrast,
British colonists initiated the aggression towards the Algonquians after the Algonquians withdrew all
contact. As you can see, the British had a positive and equal relationship with the natives for the most
part. While the Spaniards always had a negative and controlling relationship with the natives. Both the
Spanish and the British could not have survived without the Native

The Apartment Is An Oscar Winning Motion Picture And Made...
The Apartment is an Oscar winning motion picture and made by one of Hollywood s all time greatest
directors that ever lived. At the film s center is a romantic comedy, but it is much more than that, when
viewed without its satirical stance, it is a sad, dramedy (comedy drama or tragicomedy). Set at the end
of the 1950s during a time in American culture where an invisible and unmentionable class system
existed, indeed American society is thoroughly stratified by this time. The film focuses on two
despondent people who are caught between the haves and have nots, where social class rank was
based on educational background, income, and work level status. The American economy of the 1950s
was a booming explosion of capitalism and a constant growing infrastructure that demanded new
workers to fill the gigantic office buildings of corporations and service workers to handle the support
of public needs. America during this period in history was a bustling and busy atmosphere full of
innovation, new occupations, suburban living, and rapid mobility. Social class distinction was on
everybody s mind and social equality was at the top of the list. The film illustrates the greed of this
corporate era and the elite managers that take advantage of it. Stuck in the cog works are two lonely
people, who only want to get ahead, and find true companionship. The tale begins in New York City, a
light in an apartment window shines in the window without the owner being there, instead, we learn

The Sinus Node
The Sinus node is a small bundle of specialised cells located in the right atrium of the which generates
an impulse in the heart. The electrical activity spreads through the walls of the atria and causes them
to contract. This forces blood into the ventricles, which sets the rate and rhythm of the heartbeat. A
pacemaker is needed to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart s natural pacemaker
sinus node is not fast enough or there is a block in the heart s conduction system.
As knowledge of the human body expanded a range of electrotherapeutic experimentations were
conducted by pioneering scientists and physicians. Methods utilized both direct current and static
electricity. It became clear that the heart was an organ especially sensitive to electricity as well and as
early as 1788, attempts were made to treat irregular heartbeats with an electric shock. By 1932, a
primitive form of today s pacemaker was invented as a hand cranked device by Albert Hyman
(Engineering and Technology History Wiki, 2015). Hyman s pacemaker was powered by a hand
wound spring driven generator that provided six minutes of pace making without rewinding (Haddad,
Houben and Serdijin, 2006). Today s pacemaker weighs about 28 grams and is approximately the size
of an Australian 50 cent piece (Medtronic n.d.).
The objective of electrical stimulation is to replace natural biological impulses by external artificial
electrical impulses. Electrostimulation is needed when the heart

American Symbolism In Hills Like White Elephants
Title In Hills Like White Elephants by Ernest Hemingway, an American man exhibits control over his
lover, Jig, as they talk at a train station. Stereotypical with the role of women, Jig lacks authority and
control, not only in her relationship with the American, but in her day to day life, as shown in her
inability to act independently. The American s conversational coercion instills Jig with a false sense of
autonomy in the relationship, ultimately pigeonholing her into submission. Almost immediately, Jig is
established not as an equal, but rather as the American s subordinate. While her partner is referred to
as the American, and the waitress is referred to as the woman, Jig is only known as the girl throughout
most of the story. This description demonstrates the man s control over Jig, distinguishing him as
superior to his lover (Rankin). Jig s inferiority is further shown through her lack of independent
identity, as she is instead characterized as an extension of her lover. This is displayed in her inability to
even choose a drink for herself, relying on the American to decide for her What should we drink? the
girl asked (1,Hemingway), and even speak for her. This action strips Jig of independence and control,
in fact, her dependence on the American causes her to constantly seek for his approval: she changes

The Rise Of Caodaism In Vietnam
In the spiritual life of Vietnamese, religions such as Taoism, Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism
and Islam are the mainstream. Each religion has similarities with the ethnic believes in Vietnam.
Nevertheless, one religion emerged and rose in an unimaginable rate during the twentieth century
Caodaism. It soon became Vietnam s third largest religion after Buddhism and Roman Catholicism.
The rapid rise of Caodaism is strongly related to its susceptible fundamental doctrines, combination of
various social groups, and strong historical context. From the French colonization and empiricism of
Japan, to the establishment of Democratic Republic of Vietnam, Caodaism played an important
political role thoroughly, and these events also deeply influenced the fate fo Caodaism.
Brief Introduction of Caodaism: Caodaoism was born in the province of Tay Ninh, Vietnam in 1026,
after its founder Ngô Văn Chiêu, a district head of the French administration in Cochinchina, received
a vision of the Divine Eye. Divine Eye was perceived as the focus for worship on all Cao Dai alters in

Billy Pilgrim s So It Goes
So it goes : Three simple words that have a comforting connotation of the reality of death. The phrase
So it goes is used 106 times in Slaughterhouse Five. Every time death is mentioned, the incident is
followed by this phrase. The phrase So it goes is a reminder that death happens to everyone at some
point. The phrase refers to death in an equalizing way. No matter whether it is a massacre of many
people or the death of a single person, the phrase So it goes applies. It could be death by warfare,
accident, or by intention, and the narrator still applies the phrase So it goes.
You could say that it is the motto of the novel. Billy Pilgrim, the main character of the novel, says that
it is a Tralfamadorian saying, which he adopts. At the beginning of the novel, Billy is young, naive,
and clueless, and he gets thrown into battle when he is drafted for World War II. He finds it so hard to

innocence, which is why he buys ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

of beads on a string is used on page 27, saying that humans see the illusion of time being
impermanent; once a moment has passed it is gone forever. But the Tralfamadorians see it a different
way: time is everlasting so when a person dies, he is really only dead in that very moment, but he is
perfectly okay in a bunch of other moments. This is why they adopted the fatalistic phrase So it

Christine Ross Porphyria s Lover
A feminine voice can sometimes get lost within a dramatic monologue that is being read through the
male speaker. This is something that happens in Robert Browning s dramatic monologue Porphyria s
Lover . A poem in which a man strangles the woman he loves after she s come to visit him one stormy
night. I ve analyzed two critics, Christine Maxwell and Christine Ross. Maxwell believes that the
speaker of the poem has taken on the personality of Othello, in the drama Othello. Similar in the way
that Othello kills Desdemona through suffocation. Maxwell argues that Browning has projected this
kind of insanity into the speaker of the poem. As for Ross, who argues the speaker didn t kill
Porphyria, if not, they were simply exploring sexual desires. Through female sexual agency and erotic
asphyxiation, Browning is demonstrating the speaker relinquishes Porphyria from social structures.
Maxwell compares the storm in Porphyria s Lover to the storm clouds gathering in Othello (pg. 28). ...

Ross mentions that Porphyria lives in a society that discourages both and that seem to allow only two
alternatives to her sexuality (pg. 71). Alternatives in which she s either a wife or known as a

shawl, cloak and hat. All of which belong to a lady. This tells us that she shouldn t be with her lover, it
s a forbidden love because of social structures. The fact that he lives in a cottage means he s part of the
lower middle class. If she wasn t seeking reciprocated passion she wouldn t have left the party and
rode to her Lover s cottage to meet with him. Porphyria is a woman who in the words of Ross is a
woman who feels and wishes to act on her sexual desire (pg. 71), because her sexuality is so easily

The World Trade Organization Demonstrations
Introduction
The emerging trend of liberalizing international trade regulations, also known as globalization, has
lead to vast changes in distribution of wealth and power throughout the world. As a result, many
groups and population segments feel pressured or disadvantaged by the evolving structure of world
markets and their effects on labor standards, job availability, environmental standards, etc.
Many of these groups, both in the United States and abroad, are leftist centered groups seeking to
peacefully influence or altogether stop the rush to trade liberalization and privatization that is

This paper will use the Smelser model of collective behavior to illustrate that all of the determinants
necessary for such a grand and successful display of collective action were present at that time.
Specifically, it will demonstrate that a societal structure sustained action, a sufficient strain instigated
such action, leadership was there to mobilize resources and that social control forces inevitably could
not prevent the demonstrators from disturbing the WTO convention.
Theory
This paper will demonstrate the Smelser Theory of Structural Strain. This uses a value added concept
in that all of the determinants, when met, contribute to the likelihood of collective action. Generally,
however, all factors must be present for collective action to occur (Barkan and Snowden 21).
Structural Conduciveness This is a measure of how accommodating a society or environment is to
communication between those taking action and mobilizing of resources in order to achieve such
action. It also takes into account whether aggrieved persons have appropriate channels of expression.

be nothing to move a population to protest. Structural strain is the amount of tension

Once you have got the two winners from the division series on the NL side, those two winning teams
will have to play each other to get the league champions. In order to demonstrate this on your baseball
bracket, sketch a different 3 sided cube. Sketch a line from the center of the division games boxes, and
put the winning team on that line. Each winning team should be joined together by using a vertical
line. Do this for the AL and the NL teams in the bracket.
Display the World Series champs. Once both leagues have played, there will be one winner on each
side. At this point both sides in your baseball playoff bracket will meet in the page s center. Divide
each league championship game in half by drawing a line through the center of that game and enter
the winning team on this line. There will be 2 teams written next to each other. The reason is that one
team is in the National League while the other is in the American League. You don t need a box now,
just the line.
Champion of the World Series. The winner of your MLB playoff bracket will be determined at the
conclusion of the World Series. Underline the rival World Series competitor team s names, by
themselves. Jot down the victorious ballteam s name on this line, writing champion beneath

Smith Software Testing Environment Proposal
Smith Software Testing Environment Proposal BSA/385 Introduction to Software Engineering
Abstract Smith Systems Consulting has received some feedback and concerns that their processes and
procedures are not sufficiently documented. This lack of professional documentation has caused some
loss of potential contracts for the firm. The Learning Team Bravo has been given the assignment to
define, develop, and propose standards for a software testing environment at Smith. This will be
accomplished by defining the Smith engagement approach, introducing the way the firm works with
clients and how projects are managed, defining the software development and quality assurance
processes and procedures, describing in detail testing procedures to be exercised, describing the
infrastructure including hardware and software capabilities that will make up the software testing
environment, and by defining the format and requirements for development of formal program
specification. Smith Systems Consulting recently tasked Learning Team Bravo (LTB) with developing
a standardized project plan, approach, and testing procedures. It is Smith s goal to show prospective
clients that Smith is efficient and is confident that they are able to perform contractual obligations
smoothly. The following procedures will be generalized so that Smith will be able to utilize this
project plan in any project. This standardized project plan that LTB developed will enable Smith to

Essay For Masters In Social Work
Indian nationalist leader Mahatma Gandhi once stated, The best way to find yourself is to lose

the mission of aiding others. I m pursing a Masters in social work because by working in this field, I
can educate, advocate, motivate, understand, and encourage resilience to clients from every walk of
life. It is a profession that will allow me to practice both on a micro and macro level simultaneously.
Lastly, working in social work gives me the capacity to challenge policies affecting disadvantaged
communities.
My interest in this field stems from growing up in a small, rural, poverty stricken town. This gave me
a unique perspective on the world. My hometown had many children with potential, but because they
did not have a positive outlet most of our future workforce leaders did not complete school. As a
professional, I want to create an outreach program designed for high school students, from low income
communities, that pushes and encourages them to stay in school and seek higher education. Currently
there are no programs in the area that offers educational assistance to these children. Considering the
lack of resources available, the need for such a program is evident. My solution is to use social work
to develop these types of services and create policies that can affect at risk youth in a positive way. I

Advantages And Disadvantages Of Globalization
The term globalization refers to the increasing interconnection of all parts of the world relating to
political, economic, and cultural aspects. One example of this is where clothing companies decide to
outsource some of their manufacturing to countries like China or Vietnam for lower labor cost.
Another example of globalization would be that car parts are manufactured overseas in places like
Japan,Germany, or Korea and assembled in America. A third example of globalization is the Silk
Road, which carried goods as well as ideas and culture all across India and parts of Asia. All of these
examples show different ways in which goods or ideas spread all internationally and all over the
world. Arguably, without globalization, the world wouldn t be as diverse and advanced as it is today.
Globalization has many aspects but three important ones are how technology contributed to it, the
benefits of globalization, as well as the disadvantages of globalization. One of the first topics
regarding globalization is how technology has contributed to it. Throughout history, technology has
played an integral role in the diffusion of ideas or goods over a wide area. However, recent history has
shown advances in technology the likes of which the world has never been before. Technology is
arguably the driving force behind globalization. One of these advances contributes to globalization has
been technology that has made it easier to gain information and through better telecommunication
capabilities. One example of this technology is the internet, which allows people to gain access to a
global variety of information and resources. Another example is telecommunications like calling, e
mailing, instant messaging, and social media, which all help people communicate despite massive
distances. Both of these technological advances contribute to globalization because it allows for ideas
and information to be spread throughout the world without it being physically transported. This
allowed for different regions of the world to interact and exchange ideas, philosophies, information,
and goods There are many of benefits of regions of the world becoming integrated with one another.
One of these benefits that relates to the economic aspect of

Was Claudius An Effective Ruler
In this essay we are going to discuss whether Claudius was an effective ruler. In order to achieve an
answer to this, we will also discuss how he governed his empire and how he went about
administrating laws and provinces.
To start with, however, it is best to briefly introduce Claudius before he became emperor. This will
help us to understnad his situation and how past events effected his ruling.
Claudius was the great nephew of Augustus, and so was part of the most important family in rome at
the time. From a young age Claudius was physically and mentally challenged, and due to this he was

With this Claudius appointed freemen to certain secretarial offices, however, he wasn t the first
emperor to do so, augustus before him also found it better to work through permanant non senatorial
officials than through senatorial magistrates. Although Claudius and augustus are similar in the way
they appointed their officials, there is one major difference, this being that Claudius allowed his
officials, freedmen, to influence him. Now straight away we can see how this would have angered the
senate, because they had gone through the correct path on the Cursus Honourum, where as these
freedmen were just given powerful positions by giving his most important tasks to his freedmen, this
ensured the emperoros independence of both senate and the equestrian order. It also seems, with the
dominant influence the freedmen had on Claudius, that many acts and judgements weren t his own,
they were dictated by his wives and freedmen, he practically always obeyed their whims rather than
his own judgement. Subsequently, we can say that Claudius looked as though he was a mere puppet,
and the real rulers were his wives and freedmen. Claudius fell so deeply under the influence of these
freedmen and wives that he seemed to be their servant rather than their emperor. This is also a good
reason as to why many acts put forth were in favour of the population of rome, because these
freedmen were of such low

They constantly disregard the people s privacy and there personal life. In his essay Civil Disobedience
Henry David Thoreau, speaks on how a free society would be much better than one that is harshly
governed. He is a strong believer that people should do what they think is right and wrong, not what
the government tells you to do. If a plant cannot live according to its nature, it dies; and so a man
(Thoreau). He states that a man should do what he thinks is morally right. He uses a simile to say that
nature functions on it s own with it s own set of rules, as should a man. If nature has been self

by his own rules for the short amount of time that he is alive on this planet and things will go much
smoother than they have in the past. He thinks that the government abuses their power a lot in the
sense of security or privacy. Government is best that governs least (Thoreau). Thoreau says that a

strongly dislikes government and believes that one day there should be no government at all and the
people will rule themselves. Thoreau says that the government is much too powerful and they abuse

Animal Experimentation
The various experiments are performed on living animals especially to test the effects of chemical
compounds such as new drugs, cosmetics, food additives and pesticides. The application of animals to
test a large number of products from household compounds and cosmetics to pharmaceutical has been
considered to be a normal strategy for many years.
Animal experimentation has existed since ancient times and contributed to human life and survival.
The most radical progress in the health science has all been made possible by animal research. Thus,
animal experimentation is recognized and accepted as an important tool in saving lives.
Humans have been benefited from the health care developments that have been based on the benefits
of animal research and testing for many years. According to Fox Michael Virtually every medical
innovation of the last century and especially last four decades has been based to a significant extent
upon the results of animal experimentation. Surgery on animals has assisted in developing organ
transplant and open heart surgery. Animal testing has also helped in developing vaccine against
disease like rabies, polio, measles, mumps, rubella, and TB. Development of antibiotics, HIV drugs,
Insulin, and cancer treatments depend up on animal tests. Other testing methods are not advanced

But how many times does it happen? Déjà vu is a common reaction to a feeling of reliving a moment
or a dream. The déjà vu phenomenon has established a strong presence in our popular culture. A recent
search of the Internet using the keyword déjà vu brought up over 400,000 sites (Brown n.p.). Déjà vu
is a very common reaction in the United States because of what people dream or think and do during
life. It is a very casual feeling and has a lot of information on the Internet. Déjà vu experiences are
common in normal subjects (Brown n.p.). Déjà vu is so common that the feeling is mutual. The way
that people react to déjà vu is acting like that person is angry, depressed, or said something funny. It is
a normal action and action in humanity and throughout this world. According to Hook, there is still
much to learn about déjà vu and the mechanisms behind it (Science Daily n.p.). Even though déjà vu

Timeless Themes In Macbeth By William Shakespeare
Choice 2: Shakespearean plays contain timeless themes. Appearances can be deceiving, this relates to
our society because every person judges a person by the way they look, whether it s a homeless man
with a torn backstory. It could be a woman with all her kids going to the store and one of them is
acting like a fool and it makes the woman mad so she slaps him yet, you think she s abusive towards
her kids even though it s okay to punish your kids if they re acting up because it lets them know that
what they are doing is not okay. Imagine if you are the one being judged would it be welcomed, or
would the person try to do something to change what people think about them. This relates to the
shakespeare play Macbeth because Macbeth is always

Lab 5 Cellular Respiration
Lab 5Cellular Respiration
Introduction:
Cellular respiration is an ATP producing catabolic process in which the ultimate electron acceptor is
an inorganic molecule, such as oxygen. It is the release of energy from organic compounds by
metabolic chemical oxidation in the mitochondria within each cell. Carbohydrates, proteins, and fats
can all be metabolized as fuel, but cellular respiration is most often described as the oxidation of
glucose, as follows:
C6H12O6 + 6O2 → 6CO2 + 6H2O + 686 kilocalories of energy/mole of glucose oxidized
Cellular respiration involves glycolysis, the Krebs cycle, and the electron transport chain. Glycolysis
is a catabolic pathway that occurs in the cytosol and partially oxidizes glucose into ... Show more

Then place a small wad of absorbent cotton in the bottom of each vial and, using the pipette or
syringe, saturate the cotton with 15 % KOH. Be sure not to get the KOH on the sides of the
respirometer. Then place a small wad of non absorbent cotton on top of the KOH soaked absorbent
cotton. Repeat these steps to make the other five respirometers. It is important to use about the same
amount of cotton and KOH in each vial.
Next, place the first set of germinating peas, dry peas and beads and beads alone in vials 1,2, and 3.
Place the second set of germinating peas, dry peas and beads, and glass beads in vials 4,5, and 6.
Insert the stoppers in each vial with the proper pipette. Place a washer on each of the pipettes to be
used as a weight.
Make a sling using masking tape and attach it to each side of the water baths to hold the pipettes out of
the water during the equilibration period of 10 minutes. Vials 1,2, and 3 should be in the bath
containing water at room temperature. Vials 4, 5, and 6 should be in the bath containing water that is
10oC. After the equilibration period, immerse all six respirometers into the water completely. Water
will enter the pipette for a short distance and stop. If the water does not stop, there is a leak. Make sure
the pipettes are facing a direction from where you can read them. The vials should not be shifted
during the experiment and your hands should not be placed in

After eliminating proposal three, I sat down to compare the effectiveness of Project DARE described in proposal one and the literacy program described in proposal two. After further research it came to my attention that despite DARE [becoming] America s most popular drug education program , [t]he effectiveness of [DARE] has yet to be demonstrated (Rosenbaum, Flewelling, Bailey, Ringwalt, and Wilkinson 3 31). Describe The Key Features Of Popular Culture In The 1960s Popular Culture in Britain at the Beginning of the 1960s In this essay I will describe the key features of popular culture in Britain at the beginning of the 1960s. In the late 40 50s, life was drab, uniform and restrained. People generally had a low standard of living as a result of the Second World War. This was formally known as austerity. There were also people during this time period who were known as angry young men . These people complained about society, without having any concrete suggestions on how things should be improved. Popular culture is a rather broad term, but it generally meant the changes that were associated with the 60s. This era is famously known as Sex, Drugs Rock n ... Another thing that gave women independence was the legalisation of abortions. Teenagers in the 1950s 1960s had a disposable income, most of it spent on entertainment. This saw many young people dressing up on a Friday night coming home legless the following morning, as illustrated in the film Saturday Night, Sunday Morning . A popular pop icon was the famous Elvis Presley who most teenagers looked up to. This resulted in a lot of people gradually being influenced by the USA i.e. sitcoms and music. An angry young man was generally a person that was discontent with society, without necessarily having any concrete ideas about how things should be improved. In the late 1950 s and early Sixties America dominated the music industry; the British music scene, while established (Cliff Richard, Tommy Steele, etc.), tended to imitate American trends and styles. In the mid fifties a breakthrough in music technology (the seven inch single) exposed a higher multitude of people to the musical culture due to its affordability, and versatility to requirements. If you could not afford a seven inch single then establishments often sold them second hand after they had been played on a jukebox system. Therefore, this paper will attempt at creating its own definition applicable to the findings discussed, in order to eliminate any confusion. Etymologically, the word shaman is derived from the Evenki word šamán, which is thought to relate to the Tungus root ša , meaning to know. The Russians adopted the term after hearing it used by Tungusian tribes when they conquered eastern Siberia in the second half of the 20th Century. Thereby, the shaman can release his personal emotions and biases, as they become irrelevant in the grand scheme he witnesses. However, there lies a distinction between recreationally using a drug and doing so in a Shamanic ritual. The words and songs the shaman sings when preparing and taking the drug in, cause the drug to become more powerful due to the union created between the shaman and the plant spirit. • 6. Essay about The Evolution of Shakespeare s Henry V The Evolution of Shakespeare s Henry V Foremost among the characters William Shakespeare develops in his series of historical plays is, undoubtedly, the character of Henry V. Henry, also at times referred to as Harry or Hal, develops through the course of four plays: Richard II, I Henry IV, II Henry IV, and Henry V. From the brief mention of Henry in Richard II to the full focus upon him in Henry V, a dramatic change clearly takes place: the playful carousing youth portrayed in the first play develops into a King and conqueror by the conclusion of the final play. In order to truly examine his development however, one must examine the growth and eventual fusion of two undeniable separate characters: the prince Henry, and the youth Hal. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... In I Henry IV, when we finally meet Hal, the image presented in Richard II becomes conflicted. We see Hal placed in an environment one might expect based upon the comments in Richard II the Boar s Head Taven but he delivers a soliloquy which stands in stark contrast with the Hal we expected. While this soliloquy in which declares his tavern dwelling to be a mere ruse to gain influence lends credence to Hal s Machiavellian image, the context and the precise nature of the speech makes it difficult to extend that line of reasoning and label him a Machiavel. Thus, when Hal states By so much shall I falsify men s hopes, And like bright metal on a sullen ground, My reformation, glitt ring o er my fault, Shall show more goodly and attract more eyes Than that which hath no foil to set it off (I Henry IV I.iii.211) That same moment can be said to be the foundation for the development of the separate identity of Henry. Though childishly unwilling to accept his fate on one level, he is clearly preparing himself for the responsibilities of the throne on another level. When he chooses to return the stolen goods from the Boar s Head heist, he is allowing his noble virtues to surface. These developing and arguably primitive virtues contest greatly with the separate character of Hotspur, an individual largely defined by his honor. Thus, in ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

Caenorhabditis elegans contain two paralogues of the GRP170 gene, GRP170a and GRP170a. The expressions of these two loci of the gene occur at different instances and are induced at different rates. UPR signaling is activated when the influx of nascent and unfolded proteins exceeds the processing capacity of the endoplasmic reticulum (Schroder, Kaufman 2005). One class of chaperones are heat shock protein (HSP) 70 superfamily, which represent a major class of chaperones (Easton 2000). Endoplasmic reticulum homologs of these chaperones include Grp170 and Grp78 (Easton 2000). Due to the similarities in structure it is said that Grp170 might have a similar function to Grp78(Easton 2000). The endoplasmic homolog of HSP70, GRP78 is said to function as a chaperone in the ER that aids with the folding of nascent polypeptides (Malhotra, 2007). Although the cellular functions of Grp170 are not fully understood, data suggests that it can bind to a variety of incompletely folded polypeptides present in the ER and acts like a chaperone (Behnke , Hendershoot 2013) similar to Grp78. The CAR is important to shareholders because it is an important measure of the financial soundness of a bank. Two types of capital are measured with the CAR. The first, tier 1 capital, can absorb a reasonable amount of loss without forcing the bank to cease its trading. The second type, tier 2 capital, can sustain loss in the event of liquidation. Tier 2 capital provides less protection to its depositors. Because of the nature of risk under which banks operate, capital regulations require banks to maintain a minimum level of equity per loans and other assets. This required minimum is designed for protection, allowing banks to sustain unanticipated losses. The minimum is also designed to offer depositors confidence in the security of their deposits given the asymmetric information. An individual depositor cannot know if a bank has taken risks beyond what it can absorb.

Spain and England quickly became the most dominant European presences in the Americas. Citizens of the two countries had very different experiences in the New World. This was partially due to their different interactions with Native Americans, religions and their different motivations for coming to the New World. Although rivals at the time, Spain and England s colonization efforts shared many similarities. Motivation for coming to the New World greatly influenced Spanish and British colonization. The Spanish are said to have had three distinct reasons; God, glory and gold. God meaning the conversion of natives, glory meaning the claiming of new land for the Spanish empire and gold meaning the desire to find gold to bring wealth back to Spain. The film focuses on two despondent people who are caught between the haves and have nots, where social class rank was based on educational background, income, and work level status. The American economy of the 1950s was a booming explosion of capitalism and a constant growing infrastructure that demanded new workers to fill the gigantic office buildings of corporations and service workers to handle the support of public needs. America during this period in history was a bustling and busy atmosphere full of innovation, new occupations, suburban living, and rapid mobility. Social class distinction was on everybody s mind and social equality was at the top of the list. The film illustrates the greed of this corporate era and the elite managers that take advantage of it. Stuck in the cog works are two lonely people, who only want to get ahead, and find true companionship. • 25. The Sinus Node The Sinus node is a small bundle of specialised cells located in the right atrium of the which generates an impulse in the heart. The electrical activity spreads through the walls of the atria and causes them to contract. This forces blood into the ventricles, which sets the rate and rhythm of the heartbeat. A pacemaker is needed to maintain an adequate heart rate, either because the heart s natural pacemaker sinus node is not fast enough or there is a block in the heart s conduction system. As knowledge of the human body expanded a range of electrotherapeutic experimentations were conducted by pioneering scientists and physicians. Methods utilized both direct current and static electricity. It became clear that the heart was an organ especially sensitive to electricity as well and as early as 1788, attempts were made to treat irregular heartbeats with an electric shock. By 1932, a primitive form of today s pacemaker was invented as a hand cranked device by Albert Hyman (Engineering and Technology History Wiki, 2015). Hyman s pacemaker was powered by a hand wound spring driven generator that provided six minutes of pace making without rewinding (Haddad, Houben and Serdijin, 2006). Today s pacemaker weighs about 28 grams and is approximately the size of an Australian 50 cent piece (Medtronic n.d.). • 26. American Symbolism In Hills Like White Elephants Title In Hills Like White Elephants by Ernest Hemingway, an American man exhibits control over his lover, Jig, as they talk at a train station. Stereotypical with the role of women, Jig lacks authority and control, not only in her relationship with the American, but in her day to day life, as shown in her inability to act independently. The American s conversational coercion instills Jig with a false sense of autonomy in the relationship, ultimately pigeonholing her into submission. Almost immediately, Jig is established not as an equal, but rather as the American s subordinate. While her partner is referred to as the American, and the waitress is referred to as the woman, Jig is only known as the girl throughout most of the story. This description demonstrates the man s control over Jig, distinguishing him as superior to his lover (Rankin). Jig s inferiority is further shown through her lack of independent identity, as she is instead characterized as an extension of her lover. This is displayed in her inability to even choose a drink for herself, relying on the American to decide for her What should we drink? the girl asked (1,Hemingway), and even speak for her. This action strips Jig of independence and control, in fact, her dependence on the American causes her to constantly seek for his approval: she changes the subject when he becomes ... • 27. The Rise Of Caodaism In Vietnam In the spiritual life of Vietnamese, religions such as Taoism, Christianity, Buddhism, Confucianism and Islam are the mainstream. Each religion has similarities with the ethnic believes in Vietnam. Nevertheless, one religion emerged and rose in an unimaginable rate during the twentieth century Caodaism. It soon became Vietnam s third largest religion after Buddhism and Roman Catholicism. The rapid rise of Caodaism is strongly related to its susceptible fundamental doctrines, combination of various social groups, and strong historical context. From the French colonization and empiricism of Japan, to the establishment of Democratic Republic of Vietnam, Caodaism played an important political role thoroughly, and these events also deeply influenced the fate fo Caodaism. Brief Introduction of Caodaism: Caodaoism was born in the province of Tay Ninh, Vietnam in 1026, after its founder Ngô Văn Chiêu, a district head of the French administration in Cochinchina, received a vision of the Divine Eye. Divine Eye was perceived as the focus for worship on all Cao Dai alters in the culture of Caodaism. Every time death is mentioned, the incident is followed by this phrase. The phrase So it goes is a reminder that death happens to everyone at some point. The phrase refers to death in an equalizing way. No matter whether it is a massacre of many people or the death of a single person, the phrase So it goes applies. It could be death by warfare, accident, or by intention, and the narrator still applies the phrase So it goes. You could say that it is the motto of the novel. This is something that happens in Robert Browning s dramatic monologue Porphyria s Lover . A poem in which a man strangles the woman he loves after she s come to visit him one stormy night. I ve analyzed two critics, Christine Maxwell and Christine Ross. Maxwell believes that the speaker of the poem has taken on the personality of Othello, in the drama Othello. Similar in the way that Othello kills Desdemona through suffocation. Maxwell argues that Browning has projected this kind of insanity into the speaker of the poem. As for Ross, who argues the speaker didn t kill Porphyria, if not, they were simply exploring sexual desires. Through female sexual agency and erotic asphyxiation, Browning is demonstrating the speaker relinquishes Porphyria from social structures. One example of this is where clothing companies decide to outsource some of their manufacturing to countries like China or Vietnam for lower labor cost. Another example of globalization would be that car parts are manufactured overseas in places like Japan,Germany, or Korea and assembled in America. A third example of globalization is the Silk Road, which carried goods as well as ideas and culture all across India and parts of Asia. All of these examples show different ways in which goods or ideas spread all internationally and all over the world. Arguably, without globalization, the world wouldn t be as diverse and advanced as it is today. Globalization has many aspects but three important ones are how technology contributed to it, the benefits of globalization, as well as the disadvantages of globalization. One of the first topics regarding globalization is how technology has contributed to it. Throughout history, technology has played an integral role in the diffusion of ideas or goods over a wide area. However, recent history has shown advances in technology the likes of which the world has never been before. Technology is arguably the driving force behind globalization. One of these advances contributes to globalization has been technology that has made it easier to gain information and through better telecommunication capabilities. One example of this technology is the internet, which allows people to gain access to a global variety of information and resources. Another example is telecommunications like calling, e mailing, instant messaging, and social media, which all help people communicate despite massive distances. Both of these technological advances contribute to globalization because it allows for ideas and information to be spread throughout the world without it being physically transported. Now straight away we can see how this would have angered the senate, because they had gone through the correct path on the Cursus Honourum, where as these freedmen were just given powerful positions by giving his most important tasks to his freedmen, this ensured the emperoros independence of both senate and the equestrian order. It also seems, with the dominant influence the freedmen had on Claudius, that many acts and judgements weren t his own, they were dictated by his wives and freedmen, he practically always obeyed their whims rather than his own judgement. Subsequently, we can say that Claudius looked as though he was a mere puppet, and the real rulers were his wives and freedmen. Then place a small wad of absorbent cotton in the bottom of each vial and, using the pipette or syringe, saturate the cotton with 15 % KOH. Be sure not to get the KOH on the sides of the respirometer. Then place a small wad of non absorbent cotton on top of the KOH soaked absorbent cotton. Repeat these steps to make the other five respirometers. It is important to use about the same amount of cotton and KOH in each vial. Next, place the first set of germinating peas, dry peas and beads and beads alone in vials 1,2, and 3. Place the second set of germinating peas, dry peas and beads, and glass beads in vials 4,5, and 6. Insert the stoppers in each vial with the proper pipette. Place a washer on each of the pipettes to be used as a weight. Make a sling using masking tape and attach it to each side of the water baths to hold the pipettes out of the water during the equilibration period of 10 minutes. Vials 1,2, and 3 should be in the bath containing water at room temperature. Vials 4, 5, and 6 should be in the bath containing water that is 10oC. After the equilibration period, immerse all six respirometers into the water completely. Water will enter the pipette for a short distance and stop. If the water does not stop, there is a leak. Make sure the pipettes are facing a direction from where you can read them. The vials should not be shifted during the experiment and your hands should not be placed in ...
