Bear Mccreary Monologue
Hey, everyone! Just got back from watching The Walking Dead s Season 7 Episode 2 and I have to
say, it has a good feel to it. But before that, let s start at the beginning. So for those who haven t seen
the newest and latest episode of TWD, beware as this contains spoilers. Really. Anyway, yeah.
Okay, so first we see the recap from when we last saw Carol and Morgan with the former badly
injured because of a savior (I think) and the latter facing two men with horses and body armors
looking bad ass as heck. Then comes the well known and loved masterpiece of Bear McCreary which
is also known as The Walking Dead theme song. Also, quick fact that I m not even sure is quite
precise but to heck with it: McCreary wanted to compose something that when we hear it, TWD
almost immediately comes to mind. And indeed, it has. Kudos to Bear McCreary!
Now, going back, we see Carol laid unto something, a somewhat wheelbarrow like carriage that is
being dragged by a horse when suddenly, I don t know. Sorry! Bad at storytelling but we re now in
Carol s temporary POV and we see the badasses and Morgan fighting. She looks in a ... Show more

I mean, it kinda makes sense. It seems better this way, anyway. She did say that she can t won t be
staying in the Kingdom and all that and maybe because it was suffocating her? The normalcy and just
plain idea of the Kingdom doesn t sit well with her but she also needs people to stay human. So she
stays at this bungalow she saw earlier. It s nice. But then I suddenly got all sad because then, Morgan
was like saying goodbye to her like it ll be the last time they ll see each other. cause I like Carol :) I
have great hopes for this new chapter in Carol and Morgan s life. Especially with Carol when Ezekiel
unexpectedly shows up at her doorstep. That was cute, admittingly. But before that, when I heard the
knock, I was like, Bruh, no way. I thought it d be the Saviors or something.

First Person Narrative Catcher In The Rye
The Paradox of Subverting Identification through First Person Narration
Personal narrations typically allow the readers to immerse and identify themselves with the
protagonists however some writers have used the first person narration as a strategy to challenge
identification. J.D. Salinger s Catcher in the Rye and Sherman Alexie s True Diary of a Part Time
Indian both use this strategy to subvert identification. They are awarded and beloved books, but are
also hated since they are certain conservative lists of banned books due to the realistic content. The
reason behind this distancing narrating strategy is to allow a deeper and more analytical reading. The
protagonists Holden Caulfield and Arnold Junior are both trying to navigate this strange ... Show more

The first person narration is also often used for the reader to feel as if they are the protagonist. In
Power, Voice and Subjectivity in Literature for Young Readers, Maria Nikolajeva says that most
teachers might even ask the children and adolescents to identify with the character. Nikolajeva calls
this identification compulsion. This idea might be restrictive to the reader, since both narrator and
protagonist are the same person and limited by the same point of view. Conversely there are many
techniques that can be used to distance the reader and to deter this identification compulsion. Some of
the techniques used by Salinger and Alexie were othering the voice and othering the reader. Some
writers might use this distancing tactic as a way to ensure that readers are not only passively
identifying with their characters. Perry Nodelman in The Pleasure of Children s Literature observes
that one of the joys of reading first person narration is the reader s ability to see it objectively, around
or through the narrator. Therefore this paradox of first person narration that subverts identification can
be more enjoyable. Nikolajeva also points out that an outsider s perspective might allow the
development of a more mature and objective reading (190), thus providing a deeper analysis of the

Betrayal In Aesope s Fable
Betrayal can cause a person to crumble. It comes in many different forms and some are more
damaging than others. Friend, country and family betrayal exist in our worlicity of family is the most
damaging form of betrayal because a person spends the entirety of their life with their family. The
betrayal of a friend is destructive because people choose their friends to be part of their life. In Aesope
s Fable The Frog and the Mouse the mouse treated the frog to an elaborate dinner because they are
friends. The frog repays the mouse by tying the mouse s foot to his own and drowning him in a pond.
Before the mouse dies, he states, Even if I m dead and you re still alive, I will get my revenge! . That
is precisely what happens when a raven plucks both the frog and the dead mouse from the pond and
eats them. The destruction of friendship is apparent in Justin Timberlake s song Cry Me a River . He
sings Now there s just no chance for you and me, there ll never be . Timberlake sings this song after he
found out that his girlfriend had cheated on him, thus her betrayal of their relationship destroyed their
friendship. Therefore, these examples show the destruction caused by the betrayal of a friend. ... Show

In the short story Benedict Arnold from history.com, Benedict was an American General who betrayed
his own country by switching to the opposite side of the war and causing the lives of his people.
Benedict did this due to his lower ranking enemies getting promoted ahead of him, and money
problems. Arnold wanted to be promoted faster because he thought that it will solve his problem of
being corrupt. Benedict switch to the opposing side and brought destruction to his very own people
and the family and friends of those people. The example of Benedict Arnold shows that betraying your

All City Choir Essay
There s a bigger song emerging from the music wing this year, but even though the women s choir has
more than doubled from the 36 girls in the fall of 2012 to the 82 girls enrolled this fall, choir director
Elliot Kranz said that teaching that many girls at one time isn t any different than teaching any other
ensemble. There are just more girls. He said he believes there are a number of reasons for such an
increase in numbers in the group. One is because of the success of the women s choir in the past. The
All City Choir event including secondary students is also a reason students are motivated to to do
choir after seeing the CFHS choir perform. The two junior highs have very strong choir programs as
well, making it more likely for them to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Any time you add numbers, it makes it more difficult to sing in tune and sound like one voice. But we
work on this from day one in rehearsal, and hopefully our hard work pays off throughout the year. He
said he does not think that having so many girls will be any type of problem and hopes that the choir
will keep increasing every year. Junior Anna Stillman said she thinks it s awesome to have so many
girls in the choir and they are starting to sing very well as a group, although at times it is hard to have
a good balance of sound with so many voices at one time. It can be distracting at times. I love choir,
and when other people continue to talk while we are trying to sing and learn new pieces, it can be
distracting. But in the long run, Stillman also said she thinks that having more girls in choir will make
them better as a whole because they have a lot of strong upperclassmen singers and some very talented
sophomores with good voices coming to help them out. Stillman chose to take choir again this year
because, I ve always really enjoyed singing and did it in junior high for two years and decided to try it
again in the high school, and I m so happy I did. It s been so much fun, and Mr. Kranz is a great

Taoism And Confucianism Similarities
From our class, there are three major religions in China, Confucianism, Taoism and Buddhism. Unlike
Buddhism, both of Taoism and Confucianism were found in China, therefore most of these two
religions are similar, but some of them are different, such as beliefs. The reason is that these two
religions were found by different people, so that they have different understanding of life and world.
Both of Taoism and Confucianism were found at the similar age, but different leaders lead these two
religions to have different concepts. Taoism was found by Lao Tzu, who was a curator of Chou
dynasty. He emphasized that the close relationship between human and nature is the most important
concept in Taoism. Natural place such as mountains and rivers are ... Show more content on

This rule included the relationship between ruler and subject, father and son, husband and wife, friend

should become others example by acting their best with virtue. In Confucianism, unlike Taoism, virtue
is not inherent, and it is accumulate during the lifelong learning.
On the other hand, Confucians are taught by Four books and Five Classics that included history,
poetry, rites and many different subjects. In this way, Confucians could learn much more useful
knowledge than Taoism, and it also make its scholars and students become literate so that it will make
a good effort on developing the country. In my opinion, Confucianism is a religion, which is focused
on society living and relationship, and it could be a good concept for government to manage the

Oliver Stone Biography
Oliver Stone had his breakthrough in the film industry when he wrote the screenplay for Midnight
Express (1978), directed by Alan Parker. The film was a hit and earned Stone his first Academy Award
for Best Adapted Screenplay, as well as a shot at directing a major studio movie, The Hand(1981).
Stone s directorial debut was not a success, but he went on to write screenplays for the popular films
Conan the Barbarian (1982) and Scarface(1983).
Stone had a hugely successful year in 1986: He directed Salvador, a political drama starring James
Woods (for which Woods and Stone were nominated for Oscars), and the Vietnam War drama Platoon,
starring Charlie Sheen, Tom Berenger and Willem Dafoe. Platoon was a critically acclaimed hit with

In 2008, Stone once again returned to the political genre with W., a biopic of U.S. President George
W. Bush (Josh Brolin). South of the Border, a documentary about Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez
and issues affecting Latin America, was released the following year. In 2010, Stone reunited with
Michael Douglas and Charlie Sheen for Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, a sequel to his earlier hit.

investment to the Gulf it has been confirmed that the international high tension between Iran and the
Western countries not affect the ability of the oil rich countries (GCC) to attract foreign investment.
As a result of the stability of their economies and the high liquidity that they have. It has been stated in
this report that, the Gulf region is in high quality situation and is unlikely to change this condition. If it
is believed that there is any risk because of the war in Iran, the projects will be retreated. Many of the
foreign capital aim to enter Gulf region for investing and financing, especially from international
banks, because of the economic and high commercial growth in these countries (Aleqt, 2007). In
addition, it has been mentioned by Aleqt report (2207) that the Gulf States are aspirated by many of

The Significance Of Strategic Bombing Of Germany
In this essay I will assess the significance of strategic bombing of Germany. I will do this by
evaluating four key areas of the German war effort. This will include German and British moral,
German economy, its effect on the outcome of the Eastern Front and the results of the preparation for
D Day. Overall allied bombing did not have a significant impact on the outcome of the war as for the
majority of the war bombing techniques and technology were primitive and so had little effect. It only
became a threatening tool latter on in the war, when the allies had effectively won.
One potentially significant area of impact caused by strategic bombing was its effect on German
moral. This is because it was expected to terrify and shock the German ... Show more content on

This panic combined with the bombing of a single rocket research station was enough to make the
Luftwaffe chief of staff, Hans Jeschonnek, commit suicide. The devastating effect of these events was
amplified by the fear of an invasion of Germany, due to the Allied forces landing in Normandy and the
Russians approaching from the East. However, because of the unreliability of bomber commands
performance the Nazis managed to quickly control the situation. They ensured that no photographs or
news reports were published from the bomb stricken reports meaning that the rest of Germany could
only gather information from stories and tales. On top of this only a small part of Germany was
bombed as the allied forces simply did not have the technology to reach the majority of the Reich.
That it was relatively easy for the country to regroup, resulting in heavy retaliation and a continuous
growth in German production. However, in the last years of the war bombing technology drastically
improved and the attacks were relentless. As opposed to less than one quarter of bombs dropping
within five miles of the target, each bomb now hit their target and inflicted maximum damage due to
new aiming technology. Bombing raids were now performed twenty four hours a day, in the night by
Bomber Command and in the day by the heavily armoured bombers in the American 8th squadron.
1,500 bombers were now available after a huge increase in production speed, each with the

commented that the WJIII was developed according to relevant professional standards and provides
excellent reliability and validity evidence. He agreed with the WJIII authors that they are justified in
their claims that it provides more precise measures and wider coverage of cognitive abilities than
found in other similar systems. However he highlights there is room for improvement particularly in
the technical and examiners manuals, which would be improved if they included examples of
Compusure outputs and interpretations and also specific examples of diagnostic indicator along with
recommended interventions. He also noted that the content validity for the WJ ACH needed to be

The Lady With The Pet Dog Analysis
The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Anton Chekhov and The Lady with the Pet Dog written by
Joyce Carol Oates illustrate what goes through the mind when committing adultery. Both are tales of
love lost and love found, including romances with adulterous spouses and secret meetings. The Lady
with the Pet Dog written by Chekhov and Oates present the actions and decisions of two very unhappy
married individuals, whom one could say meet by chance. In both short stories the plot line is
extraordinarily similar; both love affairs end up finding true love from each other; however, the
emotions and general idea differ from the point of view analyzed. Although both short stories illustrate
immensely similar qualities, the short story by Joyce Carol Oates is more effective in three main areas.
The three main areas where Oates story is more effective include the use of the female characters, the
use of point of views, and the use of dogs. Throughout the two short stories, both interpret the use of
the female characters excitingly different. The short story written by Chekhov interprets the female,
Anna, as the female who can handle committing adultery while only breaking down/crying a few
times. On the other hand, the story written by Oates interprets the female, Anna, as a female who can t
handle committing adultery where she cuts herself (thinking about suicide) and almost to the point
where she goes crazy. In Chekhov s story the female is best examined through the quotation: Anna
Sergeyevna and he loved each other as people do who are very close and intimate, like man and wife,
like tender friends; it seemed to them that fate itself had meant them for one another... (Chekhov 224).
This quotation by the narrator best explains that Anna Sergeyevna is a happy woman with her secret
husband and she has accepted that they have to live in secret. But, Anna is okay with that because it
seems as if fate has brought them together, although she questions it at the beginning of the story. On
the contrary, in Oates s story the female is best explained through the quotation: She was certain of
that. But the bath water made her dizzy, all that perpetual heat, and one day in January she drew a
razor blade lightly across the

Non Christian Faith Research Paper
Faith...is the art of holding on to things your reason once accepted, despite your changing moods
(Lewis 1952). C.S. Lewis in his writings on faith and reasoning there are inherent ideals that when
becoming a Christian are understood. Prior to belief, a person s deeper meaning of faith cannot be
understood. Unbelievers can only have a certain amount of trust in that faith; however, it is purely
practical on the part of the non Christian. As Lewis comments in his writings, there are just certain
trials and tribulations in a person s life that come and go, and then they will have to reach outside of
themselves to a power higher to understand what it all means. Faith and Christianity are both
foundations of beliefs to build a framework upon; ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
In having a healthy bond with our creator; we in turn, have one with his creation. Humans fail in a
relationship with God, as Lewis follows up by adding that ..if you are right with Him you will
inevitably be right with all fellow creatures.. (Lewis, Faith 2002) . God s way is a moral path, it will
take effort, resolve and reason to maneuver your way through this life. Faith is rational; whereas, our
hearts can be emotional and deceitful. In Jeremiah 17:9, it states the heart can be wicked and sick, and
that can cause us to doubt our faith and lead us to not know what truth is. Reason is what we can lean
back into with the grace of faith to show us the truth. Lewis continues throughout his text to points out
that with faith in God; as you might expect, good works will follow. Moods and failure will come,
thus making it harder to sometimes just take a leap of faith; or in turn, to remove intellectual obstacles
to have faith in God. As Christians we must be instructed in the scriptures and established in the
reasoning that is our faith. Seeking out a deeper relationship with God, while exercising our mental
muscles for the comprehension of the

Horror Media Essay
Horror media has been around for many years. Era to era horror media has been passed down. They
started from just spoken words and myths, growing into much more. From the beginning, horror
movies have been a strong point in our culture and have adapted with it.
In the beginning, there was no such thing as the horror genre. Horror movies were then called spook
tales till the horror genre came around in the 1930 s. The first horror movie, or spook tail, was a
French silent film produced in 1896 called Le Manoir Du Diable or The House of the Devil. It was
created by Georges Méliès, one of films most influential people at the time. During the first world
war, Germany had isolated them from the rest of the world. This caused Germany to focus on film
advance with movies like The Golem , which is considered as the first monster movie. As silent films
became obsolete, a new twist to the genre came with the advancements in technology.
As we enter the 1930s, horror movies are officially classified as a genre. Also entering with the 30s is
Universal s monsters, which consist of classics like Dracula , Frankenstein , The Mummy , and ...

budget brought a higher production value, and that has left us with high tech and thrilling movies like:
The Exorcist , Jaws , Alien , The Shining , A Nightmare on Elm Street , and Child s Play. With the 90s
we shied away from the monsters of fiction and focused more on the monster inside of us, serial

Mascots In Baseball
Why Does Baseball Have Mascots for Their Team?
With the exception of only three major league teams, the Angels, the Yankees, and the Dodgers, most
baseball teams have a mascot. This mascot may not seem to have much of a purpose and according to
some, the mascot is more beneficial in other sports, but there is a purpose to it. To ensure the crowd is
entertained. However, many people still want to know why baseball has mascots. The answer is
simple. It is a distraction between plays, something that people can enjoy seeing during downtime, and
something that symbolizes the team.
The idea of a mascot in sports was started in a baseball team. Mr. Met was introduced in 1964 when
Shea Stadium opened and the New York Mets were playing. It was an

Tort Reform And Frivolous Lawsuits
As defined Tort reform advocates propose among other things, procedural limits on the ability to file
claims, and capping the awards of damages. There are common goals for each different tort reform;

To make it more difficult for injured people to file lawsuits
To make it more difficult for injured people to obtain a jury trial
To place limits on the amount of money injured people received in a lawsuit.
Frivolous lawsuits are lawsuits that cannot be supported under existing legal precedent. In political
debate the term frivolous is used to describe torts as a small connection between the defendant and the
plaintiff where the damages sought after are too high. The U.S. sees about 15 million lawsuits each

The Advocacy Of Women s Rights On The Grounds Of...
Feminism. The advocacy of women s rights on the grounds of political, social, and economic equality
to men. Why are some people so angry or offended when they hear this word? Why does the idea of
women being equal to men annoy and infuriate them? Do they not believe that women should have the
same rights as men? Should women have to cover up to avoid being cat called by disgusting men?
Should women have to cover up to avoid being molested or raped? Should women have to stay quiet
when they are raped or abused because no one would ever believe them? Should woman be told what
to wear, say, or do with their body? I ask myself these questions every day. The question that I ask
myself the most is, Why are women of color, gay, and transgender women constantly being
disrespected?
Woman as a whole get disrespected on a daily basis. We get cat called, get told what to do with our
bodies, victim blamed, our bodies are over sexualized, and were viewed as weak and just a piece of
meat. Being a woman is already scary enough but being a gay, transgender, or woman of color is the
most terrifying experience. Its seems as if the more melanin your skin contains, the more disrespect
you receive. Why is that? Although being a woman is hard, being a white woman gives you so much
more privilege than what a woman of color gets. First of all, white woman are seen as beautiful and
attractive because of their skin. They aren t constantly told that their skin is too dark or ugly because

day? On January 28, 1983 the Space Shuttle Challenger was set to launch at the Kennedy Space
Center. It was a frigid morning, temperatures dipping below zero, the coldest launch by NASA. The
Challenger s mission was to release the first Tracking and Data Relay Satellite. Many people at NASA
were concerned about the cold weather and its effect on the rocket boosters, but the launch had been
delayed to many times already. NASA was cautioned that the rubber ... Show more content on

People stared in disbelief as the shuttle broke up in a plume of smoke and fire. After the flame you
couldn t see the aircraft, because it was engulfed by smoke suggesting that the shuttle had exploded.
Red smoke was emitting after the explosion due to the reaction control system burning from the
wreckage. The challenger pieces began plummeting to the ocean below. Millions watched the terrible
moment occur on live television. The challenger had exploded, killing all aboard. A few seconds later
the shuttle had broken apart, plummeting to the ocean. As the challenger broke apart families of the
astronauts aboard stood in shock. There were 7 astronauts aboard, including a teacher, Christa
McAuliffe. McAuliffe was going to be the first civilian into space, but she died in the disaster. NASA
and the US are stunned and scared. NASA was traumatized by the accident. NASA remodeled and
redesigned the shuttles features. They didn t send an astronaut into space for 2 more

Cultural Differences In Lieutenant John Dunbar And The...
Lieutenant John Dunbar and The Sioux
D ances with Wolves is a film adapted from a book of same name written by Michael Blake in 1988
and produced by Kevin Costner in 1990. The film dictates the story of a Union Army lieutenant, who
journeyed to the American frontier in search of a military post, and his relationships with a group of
Lakota Indians. The movie has adequately addresses some theoretical perspectives, cultural tensions
and reconciliations based on some historical facts.
Some theoretical perspectives can be seen throughout the entire film, such as the development of
assimilation culture. (Assimilation definition) Despite how the first encounter between Lt. John
Dunbar and the Sioux at Fort Sedgwick did not turn out well, but after ... Show more content on

Their relationship deteriorated when a group of Pawnee warriors marched towards the Sioux village
with plan of wiping out the entire tribe. Neither was it a war for territory nor was it for riches nor to
make men free but to preserve food stores that would help Sioux tribe make it through the winter. It
was also a war to protect the lives of women and children, once and forever. On the other hand,
recalling that Stands With A Fist is a white woman, at a very young age, the aggressive, cold blooded
Pawnee tribe slaughtered her entire family cruelly, and Kicking Bird then adopted her later on.
Besides that, Timmons, the wagon driver who brought Dunbar to Fort Sedgwick, was also killed and
have his head scalped as war trophy by the Pawnee warriors while he was traveling back to Fort Hays.
Albeit it is unclear why the Pawnee warriors slaughtered her entire family or Timmons, it certainly
does reflect on the poor relationship between the English and the Pawnee tribe. As compared to the
Pawnee tribe, the Sioux was comparatively more human and less cold

A Reflection Of My Education In The Landscape Architecture
Presentations, Methods, and Media has truly been a gateway to what I believe to be the rest of my
education in the Landscape Architecture program. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this
class. It acts as the training wheels for our design, style, technique, and literacy in the field. If we didn
t have a baseline built by this class I personally, as well as many of my peers would quite honestly be
lost. I came into the class thinking I had a great baseline knowledge of plans and much of what went
into the design process of a landscape; I was wrong. The first thing I thought upon seeing the name
Presentations, Methods, and Media was that I would be in a lecture style class learning about how
landscapes had been done over the years, yet again I was wrong. The first thing Taze, a then quite
intimidating individual, handed us was a pop quiz on patterns easy enough, or so I thought. After
about two patterns, I realized I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, nor what half of the patterns
meant. The whole class failing the quiz didn t start my first impression of the class off well, but I was
reassured by Taze each and everyone would soon be masters of the then daunting patterns. We
practiced for days upon days until the strokes slowly became memory. We worked in and out of class
to better our skills at the same patterns over and over again, to the point I thought we wouldn t do
anything else, I was wrong about that one too. The strokes now seem to be memory and

Fifth Business
Fifth Business: The consequences of guilt All actions have consequences. Sometimes one does not
have to participate in the action, but only be related, and the crime committed can have serious
consequences for everyone. The consequence, or lack of consequence, is determined by one s
upbringing. This is clearly the case present in Robertston Davies Fifth Business. Although Boy
committed the crime, Dunstan feels a profound sense of guilt about the snowball incident. On the
other hand, Boy obliterates his guilt. Guilt and lack of guilt can clearly be seen through character s
lives, relationships and philosophies. The guilt felt by Dunstan altered the way he lives through his
complete devotion for Mary Dempster. Dunstan s guilt is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net

It was characteristic of Boy throughout his life that he was always the quintessence of something that
somebody else had recognized and defined (Davies 113). He believes that he is in control of every
situation, but inside he cannot control his guilt that is still buried deep inside himself. Contrary to
Dunstan who feels responsible for problems, Boy runs away from his problems by keeping himself
busy. The death of Leola, his wife, clearly shows Boy s fear of facing problems, for his does not show
up for her funeral, Boy was in England, arranging something or other connected with his Ministry, and
duty and the difficulty of transatlantic flights in wartime kept him there (Davies 194). Boy still yearns
for fulfillment even though he achieves greatness in terms of his financial success and his outward
appearance. He says, I feel rotten. I ve done just about everything I ve ever planned to do and
everybody thinks I m a success... But sometimes I wish I could get into a car and drive away from the
whole damned thing. (Davies). Boy knows that deep inside he is very unsuccessful. As he gets older,
he is supposed to be wiser, but his commitment to achieving the external greatness has stopped him
from being fully satisfied. There is an immense difference in the lives of Boy and Dunstan. Boy s
focus on his external being causes him live an unfulfilled life, like a boy who cannot see that there is

A Search Warrant For Criminal Activity
A search warrant is a signed order by a judge/magistrate that authorizes the police to search specific
locations in order to seize specified items during a specific time frame. The searches are typically
intended to search locations seize evidence in relation to probable cause that the suspects are engaged
in criminal activity, are about to engage in criminal activity or had engaged in criminal activity. The
concept for search warrants originates from the 4th Amendment which states The right of the people to
be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures,
shall not be violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or
affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be
seized. The Fourth Amendment can be broken down into two sections. The first section is considered
the reasonableness clause where it states that unreasonable searches and seizures are prohibited. The
next section is the warrant clause which specifies the requirements and limits of searches and seizures.
Through these clauses, the 4th Amendment is designed to protect the people from unreasonable
searches and seizures. In order to obtain a search warrant, the police must show probable cause that a
crime was committed and that evidence of that crime is likely to exist at the specified location. The
police typically present their application for a search warrant to a neutral

Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Saves Lives!
Automated External Defibrillators (AED) can be used by the untrained bystander, even if they have
never seen or used the machine before. This machine has both voice and visual instructions; therefore,
there is no reason to be intimidated. If you see a person suddenly collapse, pass out, or find someone
unconscious, having a general knowledge of how an AED machine functions, could save their life.
Before starting AED or any life saving measure, confirm that the person is unable to respond by
shouting, shaking, or pinching on top of their shoulders. If they are unresponsive immediately call or
have a bystander call 911, locate, and retrieve the AED machine. This machine must be used within
minutes of cardiac arrest onset to be effective; therefore, time is of the essence! Try to ascertain how
long the victim has been unconscious. Determine whether they are breathing, and if they have a pulse.
If the victim is breathing they will have a pulse; if they are not breathing or pulse is absent or
irregular, prepare to use the AED once it arrives at the scene. Roll the person on their back, and begin
doing 2 minutes of CPR (30 chest compressions). Once the AED machine is at the scene, make sure
the person isn t lying in or near water. If they are they will need to be moved to a dry area. It is
imperative to stay clear of any type of wetness when delivering shocks water will conduct electricity.
Turn on the AED power supply (some power up when you open the lid) and the device will

Reactivities Of Some Alkyl Halides

Professor Tjandra
Chemistry 75A
Due: November 18, 2013
Experiment 20: Reactivities of Some Alkyl Halides
Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to examine the reactivities of various alkyl halides under
both SN2 and SN1 reaction conditions. The alkyl halides will be examined based on the substrate
types and solvent the reaction takes place in.
Procedure: For the first part of this experiment, six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled
accordingly to test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1
bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six test tubes 2ml of 15%
sodium iodide in acetone was added. 4 drops of the appropriate halide was added to the test tube
labeled for that specific halide. After adding the halide, the test tube was then shaken to mix
thoroughly. If a precipitate formed the time it took was recorded. Since none of the solutions formed a
precipitate at room temperature after five minutes, the test tubes were placed inside of a hot bath at
about 50°C. After one minute, the test tubes were taken out of the hot bath and allowed to cool. If any
test tubes formed a precipitate, the time it took was recorded on a table. For the second part of the
experiment, again six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled accordingly to test the following
halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1 bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane,
and bromobenzene. To each of the six

Northwest Ordinance Essay
Do you know what the northwest territory ordinance is? The northwest ordinance, was a plan that
would allow the U.S to expand its boundaries out to the Pacific, it was adopted on july 13 1787. That
plan was made by the second Continental Congress. Before the northwest ordinance plan was in
motation there was another plan also made my the Continental Congress Resolution on Public Lands.
The northwest territory ordinance was the first ordinance made. It was made to get all the states north
of the ohio river and west of Pennsylvania to become part of the union. The northwest ordinance not
only added more states but it also provided a stronger government. There was a bill of rights that came
with this ordinance that made the government a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
It also influenced how the United States is set up today. The ordinance guaranteed that the new states
would get treated the same as the original 13 states.
The northwest ordinance didn t just makes the 5 states part of the union but it also became the slave
free states. So slave that got released or free could go to any of those 5 states and live a normal life.
Some people would take the slaves papers and rip them up and send them back to the slave states to
make money. So that made it hard for the slaves to live a new normal life.
The troubles they had with this treaty was how divide the land into states. Because the population had
to reach 60,000 to become a statehood. But once that happened they divided the land north of the ohio
river into 5 states. The bill of rights played a important role in the northwest ordinance. It provided a
method for admitting new states to the Union from the territory, and listed a bill of rights guaranteed
in the territory. It also provides rights for the people living in one of the 5 states.
The Second Continental Congress was a convention of delegates from the Thirteen Colonies. It started
meeting in the spring of 1775. The Second Continental Congress was also what issued the

Conformity In Our Society
Conformity has been a point of contention for many years in our society. Conformity is an essential
elements that help to maintain standard of ethics. Nauture of the job and professionalism aspect are the
vital to consider wheather conformity is appropriate for the people to explore their creativity.
There are myriad of point of my support in favor of conformity. The most conspicuous one is that in
order to be a social, one has to maintain the conformity. This practice leads people to explore their
knowledge in acceptable manners, therefore, society will be hampered and remain peaceful at all
times. India, for example, people are utlizing their vast knowledge with in certain area that leads them

of the Butler teams that showcases this Butler Way is the Men s Basketball team. The Butler

  • 2. Bear Mccreary Monologue Hey, everyone! Just got back from watching The Walking Dead s Season 7 Episode 2 and I have to say, it has a good feel to it. But before that, let s start at the beginning. So for those who haven t seen the newest and latest episode of TWD, beware as this contains spoilers. Really. Anyway, yeah. Okay, so first we see the recap from when we last saw Carol and Morgan with the former badly injured because of a savior (I think) and the latter facing two men with horses and body armors looking bad ass as heck. Then comes the well known and loved masterpiece of Bear McCreary which is also known as The Walking Dead theme song. Also, quick fact that I m not even sure is quite precise but to heck with it: McCreary wanted to compose something that when we hear it, TWD almost immediately comes to mind. And indeed, it has. Kudos to Bear McCreary! Now, going back, we see Carol laid unto something, a somewhat wheelbarrow like carriage that is being dragged by a horse when suddenly, I don t know. Sorry! Bad at storytelling but we re now in Carol s temporary POV and we see the badasses and Morgan fighting. She looks in a ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... I mean, it kinda makes sense. It seems better this way, anyway. She did say that she can t won t be staying in the Kingdom and all that and maybe because it was suffocating her? The normalcy and just plain idea of the Kingdom doesn t sit well with her but she also needs people to stay human. So she stays at this bungalow she saw earlier. It s nice. First Person Narrative Catcher In The Rye The Paradox of Subverting Identification through First Person Narration Personal narrations typically allow the readers to immerse and identify themselves with the protagonists however some writers have used the first person narration as a strategy to challenge identification. J.D. Salinger s Catcher in the Rye and Sherman Alexie s True Diary of a Part Time Indian both use this strategy to subvert identification. They are awarded and beloved books, but are also hated since they are certain conservative lists of banned books due to the realistic content. The reason behind this distancing narrating strategy is to allow a deeper and more analytical reading. The protagonists Holden Caulfield and Arnold Junior are both trying to navigate this strange ... In Power, Voice and Subjectivity in Literature for Young Readers, Maria Nikolajeva says that most teachers might even ask the children and adolescents to identify with the character. Nikolajeva calls this identification compulsion. This idea might be restrictive to the reader, since both narrator and protagonist are the same person and limited by the same point of view. Conversely there are many techniques that can be used to distance the reader and to deter this identification compulsion. Some of the techniques used by Salinger and Alexie were othering the voice and othering the reader. Some writers might use this distancing tactic as a way to ensure that readers are not only passively identifying with their characters. Perry Nodelman in The Pleasure of Children s Literature observes that one of the joys of reading first person narration is the reader s ability to see it objectively, around or through the narrator. Therefore this paradox of first person narration that subverts identification can be more enjoyable. Nikolajeva also points out that an outsider s perspective might allow the development of a more mature and objective reading (190), thus providing a deeper analysis of the ... The frog repays the mouse by tying the mouse s foot to his own and drowning him in a pond. Before the mouse dies, he states, Even if I m dead and you re still alive, I will get my revenge! . I will do this by evaluating four key areas of the German war effort. This will include German and British moral, German economy, its effect on the outcome of the Eastern Front and the results of the preparation for D Day. Overall allied bombing did not have a significant impact on the outcome of the war as for the majority of the war bombing techniques and technology were primitive and so had little effect. It only became a threatening tool latter on in the war, when the allies had effectively won. One potentially significant area of impact caused by strategic bombing was its effect on German moral. However, because of the unreliability of bomber commands performance the Nazis managed to quickly control the situation. • 13. The Lady With The Pet Dog Analysis The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Anton Chekhov and The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Joyce Carol Oates illustrate what goes through the mind when committing adultery. Both are tales of love lost and love found, including romances with adulterous spouses and secret meetings. The Lady with the Pet Dog written by Chekhov and Oates present the actions and decisions of two very unhappy married individuals, whom one could say meet by chance. In both short stories the plot line is extraordinarily similar; both love affairs end up finding true love from each other; however, the emotions and general idea differ from the point of view analyzed. Although both short stories illustrate immensely similar qualities, the short story by Joyce Carol Oates is more effective in three main areas. The three main areas where Oates story is more effective include the use of the female characters, the use of point of views, and the use of dogs. Throughout the two short stories, both interpret the use of the female characters excitingly different. The short story written by Chekhov interprets the female, Anna, as the female who can handle committing adultery while only breaking down/crying a few times. On the other hand, the story written by Oates interprets the female, Anna, as a female who can t handle committing adultery where she cuts herself (thinking about suicide) and almost to the point where she goes crazy. In Chekhov s story the female is best examined through the quotation: Anna Sergeyevna and he loved each other as people do who are very close and intimate, like man and wife, like tender friends; it seemed to them that fate itself had meant them for one another... (Chekhov 224). This quotation by the narrator best explains that Anna Sergeyevna is a happy woman with her secret husband and she has accepted that they have to live in secret. But, Anna is okay with that because it seems as if fate has brought them together, although she questions it at the beginning of the story. I have thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of this class. It acts as the training wheels for our design, style, technique, and literacy in the field. If we didn t have a baseline built by this class I personally, as well as many of my peers would quite honestly be lost. I came into the class thinking I had a great baseline knowledge of plans and much of what went into the design process of a landscape; I was wrong. The first thing I thought upon seeing the name Presentations, Methods, and Media was that I would be in a lecture style class learning about how landscapes had been done over the years, yet again I was wrong. The first thing Taze, a then quite intimidating individual, handed us was a pop quiz on patterns easy enough, or so I thought. After about two patterns, I realized I had absolutely no clue what I was doing, nor what half of the patterns meant. The whole class failing the quiz didn t start my first impression of the class off well, but I was reassured by Taze each and everyone would soon be masters of the then daunting patterns. We practiced for days upon days until the strokes slowly became memory. We worked in and out of class to better our skills at the same patterns over and over again, to the point I thought we wouldn t do anything else, I was wrong about that one too. The strokes now seem to be memory and ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 25. Fifth Business Fifth Business: The consequences of guilt All actions have consequences. Sometimes one does not have to participate in the action, but only be related, and the crime committed can have serious consequences for everyone. The consequence, or lack of consequence, is determined by one s upbringing. This is clearly the case present in Robertston Davies Fifth Business. Although Boy committed the crime, Dunstan feels a profound sense of guilt about the snowball incident. On the other hand, Boy obliterates his guilt. Guilt and lack of guilt can clearly be seen through character s lives, relationships and philosophies. The guilt felt by Dunstan altered the way he lives through his complete devotion for Mary Dempster. Dunstan s guilt is the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... It was characteristic of Boy throughout his life that he was always the quintessence of something that somebody else had recognized and defined (Davies 113). He believes that he is in control of every situation, but inside he cannot control his guilt that is still buried deep inside himself. Contrary to Dunstan who feels responsible for problems, Boy runs away from his problems by keeping himself busy. The death of Leola, his wife, clearly shows Boy s fear of facing problems, for his does not show up for her funeral, Boy was in England, arranging something or other connected with his Ministry, and duty and the difficulty of transatlantic flights in wartime kept him there (Davies 194). Boy still yearns for fulfillment even though he achieves greatness in terms of his financial success and his outward appearance. He says, I feel rotten. I ve done just about everything I ve ever planned to do and everybody thinks I m a success... But sometimes I wish I could get into a car and drive away from the whole damned thing. (Davies). Boy knows that deep inside he is very unsuccessful. As he gets older, he is supposed to be wiser, but his commitment to achieving the external greatness has stopped him from being fully satisfied. There is an immense difference in the lives of Boy and Dunstan. Boy s focus on his external being causes him live an unfulfilled life, like a boy who cannot see that there is ... • 26. A Search Warrant For Criminal Activity A search warrant is a signed order by a judge/magistrate that authorizes the police to search specific locations in order to seize specified items during a specific time frame. The searches are typically intended to search locations seize evidence in relation to probable cause that the suspects are engaged in criminal activity, are about to engage in criminal activity or had engaged in criminal activity. The concept for search warrants originates from the 4th Amendment which states The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized. The Fourth Amendment can be broken down into two sections. The first section is considered the reasonableness clause where it states that unreasonable searches and seizures are prohibited. The next section is the warrant clause which specifies the requirements and limits of searches and seizures. Through these clauses, the 4th Amendment is designed to protect the people from unreasonable searches and seizures. In order to obtain a search warrant, the police must show probable cause that a crime was committed and that evidence of that crime is likely to exist at the specified location. • 27. Automated External Defibrillator (AED) Saves Lives! Automated External Defibrillators (AED) can be used by the untrained bystander, even if they have never seen or used the machine before. This machine has both voice and visual instructions; therefore, there is no reason to be intimidated. If you see a person suddenly collapse, pass out, or find someone unconscious, having a general knowledge of how an AED machine functions, could save their life. Before starting AED or any life saving measure, confirm that the person is unable to respond by shouting, shaking, or pinching on top of their shoulders. If they are unresponsive immediately call or have a bystander call 911, locate, and retrieve the AED machine. This machine must be used within minutes of cardiac arrest onset to be effective; therefore, time is of the essence! Try to ascertain how long the victim has been unconscious. Determine whether they are breathing, and if they have a pulse. If the victim is breathing they will have a pulse; if they are not breathing or pulse is absent or irregular, prepare to use the AED once it arrives at the scene. Roll the person on their back, and begin doing 2 minutes of CPR (30 chest compressions). Once the AED machine is at the scene, make sure the person isn t lying in or near water. If they are they will need to be moved to a dry area. It is imperative to stay clear of any type of wetness when delivering shocks water will conduct electricity. Turn on the AED power supply (some power up when you open the lid) and the device will ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
  • 28. Reactivities Of Some Alkyl Halides Karen Dennie Professor Tjandra Chemistry 75A Due: November 18, 2013 Experiment 20: Reactivities of Some Alkyl Halides Purpose: The purpose of this experiment is to examine the reactivities of various alkyl halides under both SN2 and SN1 reaction conditions. The alkyl halides will be examined based on the substrate types and solvent the reaction takes place in. Procedure: For the first part of this experiment, six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled accordingly to test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1 bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six test tubes 2ml of 15% sodium iodide in acetone was added. 4 drops of the appropriate halide was added to the test tube labeled for that specific halide. After adding the halide, the test tube was then shaken to mix thoroughly. If a precipitate formed the time it took was recorded. Since none of the solutions formed a precipitate at room temperature after five minutes, the test tubes were placed inside of a hot bath at about 50°C. After one minute, the test tubes were taken out of the hot bath and allowed to cool. If any test tubes formed a precipitate, the time it took was recorded on a table. For the second part of the experiment, again six dry test tubes were obtained and labeled accordingly to test the following halides: 2 chlorobutane, 2 bromobutane, 1 chlorobutane, 1 bromobutane, 2 chloro 2 methylpropane, and bromobenzene. To each of the six ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...
