Project based learning - making students become aware of the idea of tourism, showing them the sense of visiting
different places thanks to the method based on preparing projects.
Students got the basic information about the visited places (in this case it was Berlin and the north part of Germany)
before taking part in the school trip. They had to find information about visited places and prepare a blueprint of their
project as well as the form of presentation of the project. They had to consult the teacher about the facts they had found
and translate them into another foreign language (for this unit it was German)
During the trip their task was to collect the additional materials about visited places in order to complete the project and
make it more realistic and interesting. They decided what kind of materials would be the best for the presentation. A
tourist guide gave them plenty of important facts, told them interesting legends and showed them unique places. After the
trip, the students had to select gathered materials and prepare the final form of the project. They need to present it later
and the teacher evaluates their commitment, presentation of the work as well as the project itself.
