Introduction to Brain Gym = 26 Movements - 9.00 to 3.00 pm
Brain Gym brings movement back into the classroom. The Brain Gym tools in your tool kit to give
you activities and exercises to reduce stress so students can work more efficiently in learning or
sports situations. Twenty-six Brain Gym movements and their applications are covered in this
course.
It is a tool which can be integrated into everyday classroom routines as a. It is simple and fun. A
very practical course with the focus being on integrating the strategies to keep students attentive,
moving and learning.
Possible Outcomes from Brain Gym
Helps learners to become more alert and focused
Improves learning readiness for reading and writing.
Can improve self-esteem and reduce stress levels.
Tools for improved fine and gross motor coordination and balance
Can make positive changes in student’s behavior.
Increased awareness of the physiology of learning and movement based goal setting.
SPECIFIC LEARNING OUTCOMES
1.Use Brain Gym movements across a variety of curriculum areas.
2. Use movement/action based goals that have short term observable outcomes. Eg, improvements
in handwriting, singing , tables tests etc.
3. Gain further understanding of the physiology behind learning and Brain Gym movements
